- 0:18Speaker 2: kidding you. They have they have something there that you
- 0:21Speaker 2: would love. I've been looking at all the candy that
- 0:23Speaker 2: they have, and they have something there you would love. Gina.
- 0:26Speaker 2: It's milk chocolate covered honeycomb. Oh that sounds delicious. And it's, uh,
- 0:32Speaker 2: it's sort of like nugat, but it's crunchy, but it's
- 0:38Speaker 2: very light, not like a not like a the real
- 0:44Speaker 2: hard what's that candy bar? The bit of honey bit? No, no,
- 0:49Speaker 2: it's oh crap, but it's but it's like it's it's
- 0:54Speaker 2: a nugat kind of. It's not chewy.
- 0:56Speaker 1: It's a comb like dissolves on your tongue.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what it is. And it's covered with chocolate.
- 1:01Speaker 2: And they come in these big chunks they have really,
- 1:04Speaker 2: I mean, they do have and they have a lot
- 1:06Speaker 2: of you know, like non GMO and only artificial color
- 1:12Speaker 2: no artificial color candy, but there's lot.
- 1:15Speaker 1: They just saying, if you're gonna have candy, have candy.
- 1:18Speaker 1: That's not the place to try to be healthy, healthy
- 1:22Speaker 1: and vegetables. And if you're gonna have.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Candy, the Sprouts makes no bones about that candy being healthy.
- 1:30Speaker 2: They're not trying to peddle it as being healthy. It's
- 1:33Speaker 2: just it's just candy.
- 1:35Speaker 3: We Uh we got some lemon white chocolate covered almonds
- 1:39Speaker 3: from them and they were quite good.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Lemon lemon lemon white lemon flavored white chocolate. Yeah, it
- 1:48Speaker 2: was quite delightful. Yeah, they have they have sort of
- 1:50Speaker 2: unusual things like that, which I it's it's interesting to
- 1:54Speaker 2: go through and look at at the things they have
- 1:56Speaker 2: and then they just have you know here, you know,
- 1:58Speaker 2: chewy Australian licorice and gummy bears and they have all
- 2:03Speaker 2: different kinds of gummy bears.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Uh so, what what are you passing out for trick
- 2:09Speaker 3: or treaters this year?
- 2:13Speaker 2: You know, I'm not I guess I'll get something, but I.
- 2:17Speaker 1: It will be real, you know.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I just buy a bag of little mini candy bars
- 2:22Speaker 2: and then pass out maybe two or three of them
- 2:25Speaker 2: because nobody ever comes. I don't know.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I love passing out candy on Halloween.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Well, then you shouldn't come to my house because nobody
- 2:33Speaker 2: comes there.
- 2:34Speaker 1: And I love seeing the costumes that kids are where.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Well, I think you're gonna get tricker traaders this year
- 2:40Speaker 3: because it's Friday.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Well, it'll be interesting to see. But if I get
- 2:45Speaker 2: more than five, I'll be surprised.
- 2:47Speaker 1: But I was. I went and got my coffee this
- 2:50Speaker 1: morning on my way to work a DJ my barista.
- 2:53Speaker 1: He said, have you seen the K Pop Demon Hunters yet?
- 2:57Speaker 1: And I said, no, it's kid thing, right.
- 3:01Speaker 2: No, No, you haven't had the steak Steak Bites either.
- 3:05Speaker 1: No, but he was saying, you know you really should
- 3:09Speaker 1: so because you're gonna see a lot of kids dressed
- 3:11Speaker 1: up as that this Halloween. And there We actually had
- 3:15Speaker 1: a story about that in our news service this morning,
- 3:18Speaker 1: and it says, if you're about to click purchase on
- 3:22Speaker 1: that roomy costume, but stopped yourself because it occurred to
- 3:24Speaker 1: you it might be inappropriate or cultural appropriation to let
- 3:28Speaker 1: your non Korean kiddos dress up as one of the characters.
- 3:32Speaker 1: The creator of K Pop Demon Hunter says, don't worry,
- 3:35Speaker 1: that's okay. You're not there. They're characters. You're not cultural
- 3:40Speaker 1: appropriating if your kids want to dress up like But
- 3:44Speaker 1: so the thought is there'll be a lot of that.
- 3:46Speaker 2: This help. I saw the guy who created it. Somebody said,
- 3:50Speaker 2: would you consider doing a live action version of it?
- 3:52Speaker 1: Oh?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Of course, and he said definitely not really, yeah, no,
- 3:56Speaker 2: he said, I would not want to lie that.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I think there's money, there's money to be had.
- 4:00Speaker 2: I don't it just he said, I don't. I it
- 4:03Speaker 2: would ground it too much. It's oh, I see it would.
- 4:08Speaker 2: It would take away a certain fantasy element of it
- 4:12Speaker 2: that I that I want. I think you could get
- 4:13Speaker 2: away with it. But he the guy, I don't know
- 4:15Speaker 2: if he if he controls it enough.
- 4:17Speaker 3: But he said, I was going to say, I think
- 4:19Speaker 3: I think at this point Netflix controls it all.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Probably, But you've watched it, right, Yeah? I was told
- 4:26Speaker 2: my niece has told me.
- 4:27Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Yeah, it's And I said, okay, well give it a look.
- 4:31Speaker 2: I haven't really felt any need to watch it, and
- 4:33Speaker 2: so should I. It's it's it's fun. Would it entertain me?
- 4:37Speaker 2: Mm hmm, I'm just not, you know, anime.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I'm not I know what it is and well, and
- 4:43Speaker 3: it's not even really traditional anime, is the other thing.
- 4:47Speaker 3: What I found fascinating was I found out later that
- 4:50Speaker 3: all the demons and everything that they're talking about based
- 4:53Speaker 3: on actual Korean folklore.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Oh really, yeah, it wasn't made up.
- 4:57Speaker 3: It wasn't made up just for the show.
- 4:59Speaker 2: What is cape mean Korean?
- 5:05Speaker 1: Uh?
- 5:06Speaker 3: Yeah, Sue, Sue weighing in here on me on the
- 5:09Speaker 3: costume thing. Just don't yellow face with your costume.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Yeah, well yeah, don't come with don't come with your
- 5:14Speaker 2: eyes you know, exactly done up to make them look
- 5:17Speaker 2: slanted exactly so you.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Can dress up like the character. But don't don't, could you?
- 5:22Speaker 2: Although I know I haven't. I haven't really even seen
- 5:24Speaker 2: the characters. Do they do? They have anime eyes, you know,
- 5:29Speaker 2: the like the big round sort of.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Uh, they see. That's the thing is it's not even
- 5:34Speaker 3: traditional anime.
- 5:36Speaker 2: It's it's this it's I want to say, it's computer based.
- 5:39Speaker 3: It's the way it looks, it's uh google image k
- 5:44Speaker 3: Pop Demon Hunter and you can see I'm not describing
- 5:48Speaker 3: it very well. But I mean the traditional anime, you're right,
- 5:51Speaker 3: has the has the big eyes and everything. But this
- 5:53Speaker 3: is this is this is a different style, but it
- 5:56Speaker 3: was really entertaining.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it was really entertaining, and.
- 5:59Speaker 1: The music is is good for what it is.
- 6:02Speaker 3: It's not something that I would have on my go
- 6:04Speaker 3: to playlist, but for what it is, it's very good.
- 6:07Speaker 3: They were on the group that performs it. Were on
- 6:11Speaker 3: Saturday Night Live a couple of weeks ago when Bad
- 6:15Speaker 3: Bunny was on.
- 6:18Speaker 1: DJ was saying, I bet one of their songs is
- 6:21Speaker 1: when's the Oscar for Song of the Year Academy Award?
- 6:26Speaker 1: For that, I think it has to be in theateraters,
- 6:30Speaker 1: but they did show it in theater.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It was it was like a two day thing.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Though maybe that's not Yeah, half of the girls in
- 6:37Speaker 3: my preschool class are planning to be K pop Demon Hunters.
- 6:41Speaker 2: So they're all girls. Yeah, there's it's three girls, okay.
- 6:47Speaker 1: And they banished demons through their music.
- 6:49Speaker 2: They have unusually long legs.
- 6:54Speaker 1: So so if your kids want to dress up like that,
- 6:56Speaker 1: it's okay. Just don't make just don't yellow face it
- 7:00Speaker 1: mm hmm yeah, or make your eyes weird.
- 7:04Speaker 3: Oh, it's it's like that Spider Man Spider Verse animation
- 7:08Speaker 3: kind of like that. It's more like that that. It
- 7:12Speaker 3: is anime though, Katie. Really, I mean, god, it's obviously
- 7:16Speaker 3: computer generated stuff.
- 7:19Speaker 2: So yeah, it's an entertaining little show. What's the do
- 7:22Speaker 2: we know? Do you remember the name of the band
- 7:24Speaker 2: off off End?
- 7:25Speaker 3: Well, the band on the show is hunter X, but
- 7:29Speaker 3: there's different people, but it's a different group that performs.
- 7:34Speaker 2: As Hunter X.
- 7:35Speaker 3: They should tour, They should definitely be touring, capitalizing on
- 7:40Speaker 3: all this popularity. This thing is huge globally, I mean
- 7:42Speaker 3: it's just huge. Oh that good looking Daniel day Kim's
- 7:46Speaker 3: voicing voice in there.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Oh, yes, he's in there. Remember when he came on
- 7:50Speaker 2: Lost and everybody went, oh my, he's handsome.
- 7:56Speaker 1: So this says the k pop Denmon Hunter's band is
- 7:59Speaker 1: not a real band, but a fictional group from the
- 8:01Speaker 1: animated movie. However, the singers who perform their songs are
- 8:04Speaker 1: real solo musicians. These artists have come together to perform
- 8:09Speaker 1: the band's music, but they aren't a band themselves.
- 8:12Speaker 2: They should be.
- 8:12Speaker 1: They're just individual but yeah, they should.
- 8:15Speaker 2: They should.
- 8:16Speaker 1: They would make a ton of money if they toured around.
- 8:18Speaker 3: Maybe they don't own the rights again, maybe it's all Netflix.
- 8:23Speaker 3: Oh it's Hunt Tricks, not Hunter X. That's how I
- 8:26Speaker 3: only saw it once.
- 8:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it's you know, they should definitely.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Here's that story in Variety. The K Pop Demon Hunter's creator,
- 8:35Speaker 2: Maggie Kang recently told BBC she does not want to
- 8:39Speaker 2: see her Netflix movie getting a live action treatment. Interesting.
- 8:43Speaker 2: She says, there are so many elements of the tone
- 8:46Speaker 2: and the comedy that are so suited for animation. It's
- 8:49Speaker 2: really hard to imagine these characters in a live action world.
- 8:51Speaker 2: It would feel too grounded, so totally that it wouldn't
- 8:56Speaker 2: work for me. Hm. But it doesn't say that she
- 8:59Speaker 2: controls it.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Those Somebody says it's a good watch once, not the
- 9:02Speaker 1: fifty times a week.
- 9:03Speaker 3: My daughter wants to watch shit, let her watch it.
