- 2:30I just came up with that too. I'm like, I'm kind of
- 2:34at a law for words. I'm still thinking about Captain Game America. That
- 2:38was the classic. Yeah you mean like Captain Gay KIRKOA. You need like
- 2:42the whole you know, you need them all. After that, I'm gonna
- 2:46come up and come up keep them going, all the captains, all right.

- 2:58Miss Regime and Sawyer Hey, y'all regime from Locking Down Productions Women in
- 3:02Comics Collective International. I got a little bit of aka so aka lock It
- 3:07Down aka Lowis low Ki aka Bobokatan. I love that one because I love
- 3:12Bobos Bobo Ga Tian very nice, cute, all right. And we also
- 3:19have Rod Morrow. You guys know me from the Blackout tips. I'm just
- 3:23running back my other aka's aka Aaron Jaegermeister aka Fay Runner twenty forty nine aka
- 3:30third I Samarai aka Monica Rambow aka the Rod of Stories. Some of y'all
- 3:37need to stop being a costcame because you gearing the hokagees Kamala Universal fan con
- 3:44and of course Professor Flex Savior excellent lot of stories. I like that Flex
- 3:49Savior a cousin Ti Flex Luthor. Thank you very nice. They say something
- 3:53real quick though, Rod is it is? Why are we no longer by
- 3:55your former moniker, because I hear you introducing yourself was Rod Morrow. Now
- 4:01I've been I've been out here so hard, so long. At this point
- 4:05I forgot, Like once I got a job writing for Game Theory, I
- 4:11feel like people just know my government now I just say it's like, yeah,
- 4:16yeah, I'm on im dB, I'm on all of like they know,
- 4:20so you know, you see me in the streets. He's like writing
- 4:26for Game Theory. I'm like, damn, yeah. I thought it was
- 4:28just like in another tax bracket or something. You know, I'm different technically,
- 4:31but even with like writing for Drape Through Maniacs. They they I didn't
- 4:36know they were going to do it, but they were like, and Rod
- 4:38Morrow is on it. I was like, okay, so we just we
- 4:41said my name all right? Cool? Right the king uh you know,
- 4:46like like like like the Grand Duchess of Tech. Don't be going out here
- 4:49by our government. It's just it is what it is. Listen, I've
- 4:54been doing it, Okay, so it is really name my last name is.
- 4:58I mean, so you know I'm gonna keep rolling with it and not
- 5:03real anymore than that. Also, like Rodham is prown trademark, so you
- 5:08know, I gotta, I can't. I won't get sued. It is
- 5:14true, Casbro show up Like, now what you say your name was Morrow?
- 5:19Sorry I never heard? Oh my god. All right, so we
- 5:27are back. We are talking all things Loki Loci season two, everything about
- 5:31the series that we love, that we hated that we had questions on,
- 5:35as well as how we felt about the finale and is this a series finale
- 5:40or a season finale or what is this at this point? Because I think
- 5:46I think it's over. I think it's Yeah. The writer said that this
- 5:50was a two part story that they wanted to tell. Now whether or not
- 5:54Marvel's like, we need more money, which I don't think so because they
- 5:58got jillion characters. But the writers said this was the two part story they
- 6:01wanted to tell and were done. And uh, Hidleson's been going around doing
- 6:09like talking about I've been playing this dude for fifteen years now, I'm good.
- 6:12So yeah, so he was just over it. So you just think
- 6:15that that's why they're going to take a break. Now, Hey, at
- 6:16least a break. I'm sure show up and cameos and stuff like that.
- 6:19At some point that the producers also said, yeah, that you know,
- 6:24having the sun shine on Thor and Loki is something that they, you know,
- 6:28wanted again, because that's what Loki says to Thor in Infinity War before
- 6:32it gets murked. Okay. Between Loki season one and Loki season two,
- 6:38which ones did y'all like better? I didn't see too. I now watch
- 6:46I Am to my Good Sister, my good brother on for all thirds,
- 6:50and I didn't watch that ship. We didn't see it was wat Let me
- 6:56ask you, you didn't watch this because we said we we said it was
- 7:00entertaining. I would have said, don't watch Moon Night out of the yeah,
- 7:02yeah, And I would have told you, I know you said,
- 7:13but damn magee. Okay, but why didn't you watch it? It couldn't
- 7:16been that we said we we said we were entertained. No, it just
- 7:19wasn't just that. It just it didn't. I wasn't moved to watch it.
- 7:23I just I just wasn't wasn't moved. I mean, I will,
- 7:28I will, obviously, I'm here. I don't mind being spoiled at all.
- 7:30So I just wasn't moved. What did you think about season one?
- 7:34Did you like? Is that why you didn't annoyed? Season one I really
- 7:39really enjoyed season one. I really truly did. I just I just I
- 7:43don't know. Maybe it was Secret Wars. I don't know if that that
- 7:48takes my month. And I just said, I need a Marble break.
- 7:50So you don't trust Disney, Disney, Marble, Disney Plus. I just
- 7:57oh, I heard Michael say something he doesn't Why do you not trust the
- 8:01House of the Mouse and Marvel? What's your problem? Because at least when
- 8:05it comes to Disney Plus shows like they all start strong, but then this
- 8:09didn't they well yeah, yeah for the most part, for the most part,
- 8:15they start strong, but then after that they never stick to landed.
- 8:18But when it comes to like Loki, honestly, I haven't liked Loki that
- 8:22much, Like what really the first season not the character. Not the character.
- 8:26I love the character, but the show has bored me for the most
- 8:31part. The only thing about Loki one and season two that got me interested
- 8:35or the last episode. So the last episode of season one, last episode
- 8:39of season two, that's the only time I was like, Okay, I'm
- 8:41interested, but like, other than that, this whole season could have been
- 8:46an hour. Yeah, but that's not you're not wrong there, You're not
- 8:50wrong, Rod, What did you think between the two seasons. I'll be
- 8:54the outlier. I love Loki. I love Loki. I think it's some
- 8:58of the smartest riding in my be too smart because I have friends that are
- 9:01like, I can't follow this shit? How do you? How do you
- 9:05follow this? Or whatever? I'm like, I mean, you do have
- 9:07to think about a lot. There's a lot of callbacks, a lot of
- 9:11timeline manipulation, a lot of like time working in one way over here,
- 9:15but in the multiverse it don't work that way with the cause and effect.
- 9:18And it definitely lost viewership. I think forty percent of people didn't watch this
- 9:24compared to the first season, So whether that's secret invasion or just people not
- 9:28liking the first and that much. But I enjoyed it. I think it
- 9:31still has the same flaws. A lot of Marvel series has, you know,
- 9:35secondary characters basically just there like they don't they When you make TV six
- 9:41to eight episodes at a time, you put yourself in a pigeonhole where you
- 9:46don't develop anybody but the main guy, Like you don't have time and we
- 9:50lost something with that. You know, a bunch of people shit on those
- 9:52Marvel shows on Netflix. They were thirteen episodes. Like, by the end
- 9:58of it, you cared about characters that you know, you just were getting
- 10:00introduced to. With this one, I felt like I didn't care about anybody
- 10:03basically but Loki. But anyway, as far as a character development for Loki,
- 10:09like as a series, I like that. I like they actually,
- 10:13to me, for the first time in a long time, took the time
- 10:16to redeem a character that I didn't know could be redeemed. And a lot
- 10:20of times they do that in shortcutsing movies and other series, and it just
- 10:24doesn't hit the same for me. I'm like, I don't know, they
- 10:26earn it. I felt like he earned his redemption at the end of having
- 10:31twelve episodes or whatever. Ben Yeah, I didn't. I don't like especially
- 10:37this. I think the thing with it is is kind of what Regime was
- 10:41talking about when we were talking about the Marvels, is how when you watch
- 10:46things in retrospect, it can redeem things like when you watch Thor the Dark
- 10:50World because you have all this later stuff with Thor where you know how much
- 10:54his mom means to him, it hits a little different. But without that
- 11:00doesn't. And I feel like Loki does a lot with this character. Where
- 11:03I love season one and I was highly entertained by season two, I didn't
- 11:07love it as much. I thought the problems that I saw from the very
- 11:11beginning were going to become bigger problems by the end of the series, and
- 11:15I wasn't, to me very much misguided in that I thought that they just
- 11:20kept repeating things and kept doing things over and over again, and then even
- 11:22by the final but so we had things just being done over and over again
- 11:26in the final episode, which I found completely hilarious when time he's getting torn
- 11:30apart or when he who remains getting stabbed over and over again. I thought
- 11:33it was hilarious. But I also thought it was just could have been shrunken
- 11:37down, which a lot of things in this could have been shrunken down and
- 11:41could have got through it quickly or yeah, timely or fashion. I hear
- 11:46what you're saying right about it, like if they had more episodes and more
- 11:50time to flush it out. But I also think, like we've seen things,
- 11:52we've seen stories and TV where they do have the same amount of episode
- 11:56and they're really able to draw a compelling story because they do it with a
- 12:00lot of like, well, keep in mind, I like it, but
- 12:05even in those other things that you're gonna name, I don't feel like secondary
- 12:09characters get as much when you have six to eight episodes. It's just it's
- 12:13damn it's damn near impossible. It's like, we can make one character be
- 12:16a fully fleshed out, three dimensions a person, we don't have time for
- 12:20eight people to be three dimensional. And that's like a part problem with the
- 12:24Marvel Disney Studio production thing. You don't have a head writer, you don't
- 12:28have you don't have a show runner, and so you have executives making decisions
- 12:35and it's like playing with toys, right They they not looking at it the
- 12:37same way as like these are characters. They need to know why Mobius doesn't
- 12:43want to go back or whatever. It's like we'll just give him like one
- 12:46minute where you see his kids, and they would go that shit to me
- 12:50hurts the product over. But the lokey part of it, just the Loki
- 12:54part considered, this is not the Loki that like killed all like everybody.
- 13:00This is like he didn't get to go through the rest of the Marvel universe.
- 13:03This is a dude. They pulled out after the first Avengers, right,
- 13:05and then he did his function in New York, right, and then
- 13:09he went through the moral arc that we never that we got to see the
- 13:13other one go through when Thanos killed him. He went through that shit like
- 13:16in this like he caught to me, he did earn his redemption, even
- 13:20though I messed you could argue he wasn't as evil as the other Loki,
- 13:22but I don't know. That's the thing. I would argue that this Loki
- 13:26is the more. I mean, I feel they both go through a redemption
- 13:30arc, like you said, but I feel like this one's redemption arc.
- 13:33Especially. There are points in this one where he made statements like when he
- 13:37says the statement to Sylvia that we are God's I'm like, oh yeah,
- 13:39it's still that evil as Loki. All he did was watch your movie.
- 13:43But he didn't say it. He didn't say it in the way of hubrits.
- 13:46He said it in the way of responsibility, like we can't shirk this
- 13:50because her thing was like, fuck all this, let these motherfuckers die.
- 13:54And he's like with our responsibility, Like she's like, what are we gods
- 13:56here? Like yeah, nigga, we can't let everybody, I'm sorry,
- 14:01you know. So I think he learned more responsibility and it really hit me
- 14:07because it's really timely. His big like breakthrough in the second and last episode
- 14:13when he realizes that is he's just gonna be fucking lonely and he actually these
- 14:18are his fucking friends, and that's so that like looning, this is an
- 14:22epidemic right now. So like that shit resonated as a character moment because I
- 14:26think that's the same thing the other Loki had to go through, but we
- 14:31got this a different way, and I marveled at the writing and how they
- 14:37were able to get there here and still get to the core of the character.
- 14:39I still have issues with the series, but like I said, the
- 14:43Loki parts to me are the least problematic of the parts. I'll agree there
- 14:48because I think my biggest problem with the series was the lack of Sylvie being
- 14:52anything more of a prop in the second season, and I felt like in
- 14:56the first season they gave her a lot more, and then in the second
- 14:58season introduced characters like ob who to me is just a joke really in pointlessness
- 15:05because he's just another Casey for that matter, who's another pointless character and I
- 15:09just felt like all this time was racing with them, be whatever, waste
- 15:13time. Yeah, I mean, especially especially like Sylvie, because I would
- 15:20have argued she's the co lead of season one, she's the co league,
- 15:24and in this season I wouldn't have called her the co league because she just
- 15:26wanted to go to McDonald's. Yeah, she's a prop. Basically, she's
- 15:28trying to get that big mat Like that's you know, no offense but to
- 15:33me, and that's like such a terrible arc to be, Like the person
- 15:35that had the most agency in the first season is just basically gonna be like
- 15:39the father and American American Beauty or whatever. When Kevin Spacey went to McDonald's
- 15:46and was like, can you just give me the job with the least of
- 15:48my responsibility, I'm like, no, nigga, you had all the continuity
- 15:52in the palm of your hand. You killed the man who took away freedom
- 15:58of choice and your choice the work in McDonald's, my nigga. And that's
- 16:03another thing I'm not want to let everybody because I feel like the debate about
- 16:07he who remains isn't very clear to me. It's like he doesn't seem that
- 16:12bad. I think the problem is because they say he says clearly that if
- 16:18you kill me, the canes are coming, right, and so at the
- 16:21end of this, even though they do write it where the canes and Will
- 16:23gets all that, it's still Loki is choosing to make it where the canes
- 16:27are coming, and so an intergalactic war is coming. He might be there.
- 16:33I guess they just rubbed them out now, which you know, I
- 16:37don't. You know. It's kind of ambiguous on that one. But the
- 16:41idea, I just feel like the idea of what is free will isn't very
- 16:45much because all the Avengers, Everybody's been making their choices in this mainstream timeline,
- 16:52and horrible shit has still been happening with he who remains being there.
- 16:56Horrible shit is not gonna stop because Loki is there as you wouldn't have movies.
- 17:00Mm hm, So I don't. I don't get it. It's pretty
- 17:04much you're trading one person for the other, is my thing. I do
- 17:08want to say, though, when you said that Time Montage was too long,
- 17:14I disagree that Time Montage was so fucking dope because it was all acting.
- 17:19They didn't show like they the frustration, and yet patients but also like
- 17:25just enough patients to get through the ordeal. That's all Tom Hidelson's acting like.
- 17:30But well he's like, yeah, I know, more of this is
- 17:33uh, I'm gonna take his job. Okay, now, no you need
- 17:37to, but make sure you tape off your helmet like they did that without
- 17:41showing us, like, and then he didn't tape over his helmet, and
- 17:42then he died, and then he did this. That's normally how they do
- 17:45that. Ship. They normally do that more fucking Groundhog Day ship. This
- 17:49one was all just this man is so frustrated. He must have done this
- 17:52a thousand times. I talk about it. I'm talking about what time himself
- 17:59is getting splattered over and over again. Yeah, that was that was short.
- 18:02That was like maybe three minutes of the whole episode that normally that could
- 18:06be its own episode of just like TV shows will do, like the Loop.
- 18:11We all have that loop episode of every show we love where you're like,
- 18:12damn, they did that shit for an hour. They think that for
- 18:15about three minutes. That's about musical fifteen minutes. That was too long,
- 18:22Sam fifteen and three, y'all chicking me right now is not as long as
- 18:27fifteen but I'm not gonna hold you, Rob, But my thing is I
- 18:30feel like a lot of the season did that. The episode one ends where
- 18:34the characters are exactly where they were at the beginning of the episode one,
- 18:38and a lot of the season did that. Sure, Loki himself might be
- 18:42learning minor lessons, but it's not even very shown until, like you said,
- 18:47episode five and six, where he's really starting to learn these lessons.
- 18:51Episode one, especially me, that's where I was like, oh, I
- 18:53think so so to me, that's not a problem because the first season is
- 18:59a time loop. That's that's the whole point of the first season, is
- 19:03it essentially how do you break a time loop? And then you end up
- 19:06at this point, this nexus point right then it's like we broke a time
- 19:10loup. How are we gonna fucking what is gonna replace it? Because it's
- 19:12gonna unravel everything. And to me, the narrative progression was not just at
- 19:17the end of episode one, they're back to at the end of so two,
- 19:19they're back to where they were in episode one, like shit was happening.
- 19:22And I was very compelled each time of like, Okay, they're moving
- 19:26forward, but how are they gonna solve this. I really think we don't
- 19:29get into the repeating, repetitious time shit until you get to that last episode
- 19:34five and six is when you get to the like, oh, this is
- 19:37just a different version of what we just saw before. But that felt purposeful,
- 19:41not like they bumped into that. Okay, but what about the shit
- 19:45that was like straight up boring? Like I didn't understand these long drawn out
- 19:48scenes of doing nothing like sitting around eating fucking key lime pie. What was
- 19:52the point, Like it wasn't a contemplative quiet moment where they're talking about their
- 19:57hopes and fears and all that. It was You're fucking sitting there and I'm
- 20:00hearing the asmr of you eating fucking pie, Like I didn't understand the station
- 20:04is adding more to the plot or anything along those lines. I think this
- 20:07is my biggest problem with Loki, both season one and season two. I
- 20:11feel like, a it shouldn't even been a Loki show. It should have
- 20:15been called TVA because yes, Loki was in every single scene and everything like
- 20:18that, but it really wasn't his show. He was there, but he
- 20:22technically until you get to the last episode of season two, he wasn't the
- 20:26one really driving the plot. It wasn't It was everything around him and he
- 20:32was just reacting to that. And then also is something I disagree with a
- 20:34Rod where he was like the character development at least with Loki. I feel
- 20:38like me personally, I don't think Loki had any character development in this show.
- 20:42And part of the reason why I feel like it's not his show,
- 20:45Like, yes, he did change, he's not evil, but we already
- 20:48knew that from the ten years he was already in the MCN. Where Lochi
- 20:52is now is exactly where he was at the end of Infinity War, which
- 20:55is getting him right back to that spot. But in two seasons of the
- 20:57show twelve episodes, what have we learned about Loki that we didn't already know
- 21:03before this show? We didn't know more about his life on Asgard. We're
- 21:07not learning more about his relationship with thor even Sylvie. They made a whole
- 21:11big stink about Sylvie and her being a different barrier and all that stuff.
- 21:15We didn't learn anything about her. Does she even have a thor? Like,
- 21:18we didn't learn anything about her old and we still don't know what the
- 21:19fuck her uh her? Uh? What what what is the what's the word?
- 21:25That they called uh where they had to prune her like her whatever her,
- 21:30the thing that they had to prune her for whatever her. Yeah,
- 21:33well her issue was we haven't learned anything about these characters, especially when it
- 21:37comes to Loki. Like, yeah, he saved the multiverse. He ended
- 21:41up being a good guy. We saw that already at the end of the
- 21:45Infinity War. He was, but he didn't say the multiverse even in Infinity
- 21:48War. I don't. I think this is different. Like he really took
- 21:52the every timeline, put it on his shoulders and became the goddess stories to
- 21:56maintain all of existence. That's not the same as they know killing him.
- 22:00Like to me, that dude, that dude is doing something for the rest
- 22:03of attorney with determination and the life the span of a god that could only
- 22:08be done by him. Like that is a different art. That is a
- 22:11different art. Hold up, that is a different arc than the Infinity War
- 22:15arc. And most importantly, this ain't the same Loki. So you took
- 22:21a Loki from a timeline after at Avengers and then and then that Loki did
- 22:26all this. So to me, unless you fundamentally misunderstand the timeline stuff that
- 22:30they're saying it's not the same guy. We're watching a different guy go through
- 22:34an arc and become the literally the most important figure in the universe, just
- 22:40holding everybody together. And on a meta level, I really love the god
- 22:44of mischief becoming the god of stories and protection of timelines and free will.
- 22:49That is, that is amazingly huge of responsibility that the other Loki I don't
- 22:56think would have ever picked up that mantal, because that Loki never really became
- 23:00a hero. He just was like, my brother gonna kill you. He
- 23:03was like, no, you're not nigga, you dead. That's a chance
- 23:06to he got killed. So yeah, but yeah, I get he I'm
- 23:08not saying he's but I agree completely on Sylvie saying he is in a different
- 23:12space. I'm not saying that. But the like we didn't really like I
- 23:17don't think they did enough to really get him, like he he changed from
- 23:19a fucking PowerPoint presentation watching his other you know, his other life. But
- 23:25like, we didn't learn enough about Mobis to get him to the point that
- 23:29he's really wanted to save Mobius and the other members of the TVA. We
- 23:33didn't. Yeah, so we didn't get enough from these other characters to justify
- 23:37why this Loki is so invested in saving them more than his own brother.
- 23:42Like he can came out and go back in time, you have to take
- 23:47to all this stuff. Now he can repair all these relationships that he feels
- 23:49bad about. We ain't see him try to repair his relationship, Like even
- 23:52though you think about the first story, but that would be that would be
- 23:56all of this for you, Dad, I love you that. Like we
- 23:57see that this Loki like he did everything for us. He he lashed out,
- 24:02and he made terrible mistakes, but like they don't even reference store.
- 24:04I think what what you're saying, but what you're saying with that, to
- 24:07me is way pettier than what his purpose ended up being. Like, let
- 24:14me go fix, like Nigga, all of existence is on the brink.
- 24:18I want to fix my mistakes on my dad. That's what the old selfish
- 24:22Loki would have done. I think I really think no question, like after
- 24:27listening, you know, because of course I haven't watched it song. Yeah
- 24:30that's right. I'm just like I feel like you know, I'm in on
- 24:33YouTube watching you. I'm just you know, into it like I usually am.
- 24:37But my question is because I'm listening to both of y'all, and I'm
- 24:41it just sounds like it's all and you can correct me if I'm wrong that
- 24:45it feels like someone's like like two sides of the same coin, but one
- 24:48is macro and one is micro. Like the micro is like Loki throwing himself
- 24:52in front of his brother and sacrificing himself for his brother, and then he
- 24:56throws himself essentially in front of the online and this this god of stories that's
- 25:03protected, that's kind of sacrifices himself in a sentence because he used to be
- 25:07this really selfish person and now he's like, well, I'm going to protect
- 25:10all these things because I see how fucked up it is going to become,
- 25:14and I'm going to try to be some type of buffer like he was sort
- 25:18of like a he was a buffer for his brother, but he so it
- 25:21kind of sounds I mean, it's like I think one of the one of
- 25:25the main one of the main differences to me is like, even because Loki's
- 25:30never been a good guy before, he's he can do anti hero, he
- 25:34can't be He's never good. He's always doing ship in the shadiest way possible.
- 25:40If it works out for somebody, else fine, but but he ain't
- 25:42really a good person. That episode five works so well for me because I
- 25:48said he gonna kill Sylvie. That's the only way out of this ship.
- 25:51She killed, and they pushed and they did such a good job of pushing
- 25:55you to that point of like, yeah, that's what Loki does. I
- 25:57didn't gotta do it. You would have even understood if a hero did it.
- 26:02That's how as much of it they pitcheoned. And for him to say,
- 26:04no, I'll sacrifice myself for everybody, Nah, man, I gotta
- 26:08give it. That's I gotta give credit. That's character development. That's not
- 26:11something the other Loki would have done. No, I see there, Brod.
- 26:15I disagree with you. I do agree that it is character development,
- 26:19but I think that it it relies that character development relies on the fact that
- 26:25the other Loki would have done it, because the other Loki sacrificing himself for
- 26:29Thanos isn't for his brother. It's because he knows what the threat Thanos represents,
- 26:33and he knows his brother is that nigga who's going to get the job
- 26:37done if he can't get it done, So he's like, yo, I
- 26:40have to do whatever to keep this because the sun will shine on us again.
- 26:44Brother, and he's been through it. I feel like that Loki has
- 26:47already been through it where he's like, no, I think sacrificing yourself for
- 26:51your brother not the same. It's not for experien, it's not for your
- 26:55brother. It's because he knows the threat level. But in that scene,
- 26:57it's literally the same Thor. You know it's but it's because he realizes that
- 27:02Thor can stop Thanos, and Thanos represents a threat level that is going to
- 27:04destroy the universe. He knows what Thanos represents. He already because he's been
- 27:10with Thanos. He knows what Thanos' goal is from the first Avengeance movie.
- 27:15So he knows what Thanos's about. So he's like, oh shit, yo,
- 27:18Thor is the only one I know who I am. I'm not that
- 27:22nigga. I guess what I'm saying is it's bigger to me than one second
- 27:25of dying and literally the rest of existence. You hold in all of existence,
- 27:29I mean, when you don't know, when you don't know what comes
- 27:33after it, it's you know, god sacrifice in his life. You know,
- 27:36no resurrections this time, but you do. That's a thing that you
- 27:40do know what comes with holding all the time eyes together. That's scarier to
- 27:44me. That's a bigger burden to hold it all together for everybody. You
- 27:48can't even participate in it. That that's a bigger burden for that character.
- 27:52To me. Eh, death is always a burden. So I don't know,
- 27:55it's you know, that's a it's a you know, Tomato diary.
- 27:57You say it all the time. So you can't tour that with me.
- 28:03God who doesn't die, though, but mine is easy you get not for
- 28:14God's once you hold the stories together forever. But that's why I was asking.
- 28:19I was asking Rod, like, is that is what you're described being
- 28:23the macro? Yeah? Exactly, Yeah, Yeah, that's why I was
- 28:27asking that question. I mean, because they wrote a macro story, you
- 28:30know what I'm saying, Like it's it's a meta story about stories, Like
- 28:34that's really what Loki season two turned into. Like it's it's more of a
- 28:38philosophy on timelines and uh and causality than it is on like just what happened
- 28:47would be fifteen's family, Like, and that's a choice they made. I
- 28:51don't I wanted to know what happened to be fifteen's family, but they chose
- 28:55to make a story about like what if this one dude who was extremely selfish
- 29:00and and and manipulative had an art that made him be the most important person
- 29:04in the entire universe and he self sacrificed that fuck for everyone else that will
- 29:10never know. So yeah, so I appreciate where he ended up. It's
- 29:17just the way they got there. I wish they developed more. Yah,
- 29:21I get it. I think a big problem with these series is stay too
- 29:23short. I think that's every I was on a MC university and they were
- 29:29recapping it every week, and that's a big issue with a lot of the
- 29:33Disney Plus series. Period they are They're very short, and they want to
- 29:37do a lot in a very short period of time, and you don't have
- 29:42showrunners and you don't have head writers. It's this ship is kind of a
- 29:45crapshoot. So they accomplished some goals, but they always leave something on the
- 29:49floor with all these series. And if you go back and you're listening to
- 29:53for our Nerves, go back and listen to every last one of these they've
- 29:56ever done and listen to that, it's gonna be Yeah, they ain't do
- 30:00this shit though, right, because you can't do but so much in thirty
- 30:03minutes eight times, it's not gonna work because even like Falcon and a win
- 30:07your soldier, I feel like we learn more about Bucky than we learn more
- 30:10about the only thing we learned about Sam is he got a sister. Yeah,
- 30:15yeah, you're right, and that is and that is an issue because
- 30:18I feel like the two things that are very undeveloped in this because the causality
- 30:22stuff is something that it's just something that's obsessed my mind since I was a
- 30:26kid. Is the idea of free will is the idea of choice, is
- 30:30the idea doesn't even matter, like because everything is happening according to a plan,
- 30:36or do we have free will? Which one is it? You know,
- 30:38because if everything's happening into a plan, or is it that your free
- 30:42will is just part of this plan. And because you can't see God's handed
- 30:45at all, you don't even know what it is. And that's why I'm
- 30:48like, he who remains to me kind of represents that idea of God where
- 30:52it's like it's this person who's overseeing everything, but he don't give a fuck
- 30:56because bad things happen. But Loki overseeing everything. Bad things still happening.
- 31:00It's just replacing one and I don't think that's addressed enough. The other.
- 31:04Yeah, and I don't. And whether or not you know he's doing it
- 31:07benevolently, bad things are still gonna happen. So I don't think it's like
- 31:12any different than he who remains, And I don't think that's addressed enough.
- 31:15It's little things like that. I don't think the idea of causality is really
- 31:18dressed enough. But you can't do that when you're trying. But then that's
- 31:22why I do disagree Rob, because I don't. I think there was more
- 31:26time wasted in this second season than it was constructively used. I feel like
- 31:32where they got to at the end, yes, was a good point,
- 31:34but it's just like fast forward zips okay, care development, you know,
- 31:38and if everything else that could be done, because we want to have shots
- 31:41of quila and power. We want to have like the idea that Loki erases
- 31:47himself in that scene and all that was like so right, it was very
- 31:52much so, and it was just too many things for me. It was
- 31:55too many things happening like that. I think that's what monumental. Why do
- 31:59I care that quickly line on the screen got deleted because it represents billions of
- 32:02lives. I felt nothing. I felt I actually thought that was really well
- 32:07done and on purpose because in that scene it's really apparent that like it's a
- 32:12job for the people that work there, and seeing it on the screen,
- 32:15they now if they never go and show us to spaghetti, I'm with you.
- 32:20But when they show us to spaghetti, like, oh that's real people,
- 32:22Yeah, yes, it hit different when it's you, especially for Sylvie,
- 32:25like for that to be the thing for her to be like, oh
- 32:28fuck, yeah, this is real. You can't outrun this. I destroyed
- 32:31everything. I think the other thing too, I'd say, Ben, it's
- 32:35not about him making choices in the timeline and like keeping bad shit from happening.
- 32:39The biggest the thing they that Sylvie fucked up is all of existence is
- 32:44done. So at that point his choices are either kill Sylvie so that he
- 32:49who remains can run shit, or I take up the man on myself to
- 32:53keep everyone existing, because I care about my friends existing. That was his
- 32:59full art and their rod. And that's why that's why I've said and I
- 33:01don't, I don't. I don't like the argument that it's about show runners,
- 33:05etcetera. But I do think that there was a problem with this season
- 33:07because this season creates a problem that wasn't part of season one, and I
- 33:12don't understand it because allegedly it's all the same people writing this. End of
- 33:15season one, Loki says, here is this, I mean he who Raine
- 33:19says when I die, it's canes all the way down, you know what
- 33:22I mean, that's all you got canes forever. And then started season two,
- 33:25it's like, oh no, the loom is exploding, blah blah blah,
- 33:30all the timelines are gonna be erased. That's not what we were you
- 33:32know. And so that was it was a problem created in this season that
- 33:37had to be fixed this season. But that wasn't the problem that we were
- 33:39told was coming. And that just was to me a time waster, like
- 33:44I don't, you know, I can't. And even though it does allow
- 33:47you to get to the point of now Loki has to make this big self
- 33:50sacrifice, that's not what happened at the end of season went, and it's
- 33:53suddenly like, oh no, I had this fail safe in place so that
- 33:57you know, all this woo woop. But it's like that's all woo whoop,
- 34:00so that we can get to this endpoint. And that's that I think
- 34:06the thing like when they say it's not when he's trying to figure out how
- 34:08to like teleport through time and he realizes it's not about the the the win
- 34:14or the the mechanism, but the who and how much you care about that
- 34:16person like that essentially, like I said, it's the meta point for this
- 34:22whole fucking show is the it's actually more about the characters and not the uh
- 34:27the bigger the bigger, like what causes? How does it work? Sign?
- 34:30I think yeah, And I think that that ship will always like hurt
- 34:36a science fiction show, which is essentially what this is. It's kind of
- 34:38like how lost in it and some people hate that ship to this day.
- 34:42Like what you mean is about the characters. I won't want I want to
- 34:45know the science of how this worked, and I think you know, as
- 34:49you can see, it's divisive, but there was a lot of time wasted
- 34:52on the science here. And that's the thing. I'm I'm a lost head,
- 34:54and I think Lost Box ending isn't perfect. I think the journey is.
- 34:59And that's all the me which took place over how many episodes per season.
- 35:02Don't get me wrong, but they had time. They had time.
- 35:07But when they wasted time, I called them out for it. And so
- 35:08when they waste time on Loki, I'm gonna call them out for it.
- 35:13I'm saying when you waste time, When you waste time with twenty two episodes
- 35:19for five or yeah, people don't, it don't hit as hard when you
- 35:22waste three. Y'all were mad about three minutes. When you waste three minutes,
- 35:27it hit different when it's eight episodes, And that's that's what I keep
- 35:30getting to, and then that's really important. You like, I'll like y'all
- 35:37are yeah, yeah, Like the things y'all are upset about are things that
- 35:39could be solved with more episodes. But the but the margin of error with
- 35:44eight is so fucking small. Three minutes can ruin something for somebody. Why
- 35:50they give episodes money. Marvel's whole thing is we're doing well. They are
- 35:54changing it up for this Daredevil, they're changing up forget mad episodes. Yeah,
- 35:59this new there that where they say is gonna have new episodes. Although
- 36:01you did see they threw out the writers and started over. Okay, But
- 36:05but when you have more episodes as more margin for error, where you can
- 36:09like fuck up and fix it with this one man, you lose somebody one
- 36:13episode, you can't get them back. And I think that's what happened for
- 36:15y'all. No, because, like I said, like I stopped watching it,
- 36:19and this ain't like Moonnight, where I was like, when I watched
- 36:21the first four episodes of Moon Night, I'll think there's a snowballs chance in
- 36:24hell they pulled this shit together. And I did not think because as a
- 36:29writer, you know, I'm not hold up. I didn't say you stopped
- 36:31watching you. You assumed something I didn't say. I didn't say I said
- 36:35they lost you. They couldn't get you. So you start having some questions
- 36:38and then it's like why they eating pie? That's a like that is we
- 36:42don't got time for this, is what That's that feeling you're actually feeling when
- 36:45you're wondering why the fuck are they talking about jet skis or whatever they were
- 36:50talking about. That that feeling is we are out running out of time.
- 36:53We don't have time for this. If you think this is character development,
- 36:57So I think it's a major part of a lot of these Marvel shows.
- 37:00You don't get the fuck up, but so much with this much room,
- 37:05and I think for y'all they it felt too fucked up, and y'all it
- 37:08couldn't get you back. Like to me, they got me back with five
- 37:12and six. I said, Oka, i' see where y'all going with this?
- 37:15I mean, it was cool, it ended well, but like my
- 37:16problem is, like it was from the jump you don't have Sylvie, Like,
- 37:20look, you've spent fifty minutes and you ain't got Sylvie in your first
- 37:22episode. Then that's something you figured how to write it room, right,
- 37:25that's early. That's an early Like no, bro, somebody got to stand
- 37:29up and be like no, like nobody did. Michael, you had a
- 37:31comment that's my biggest issue with with with regards to season two A Loki when
- 37:37you think about how it started versus where it ended. The only episodes that
- 37:40matter are one, five and six, two, three, and four.
- 37:44What was the point of any of it, like, especially because it all
- 37:47pretty much got a race with him going back we go yeah, yeah.
- 37:51But like so going back to what Ben a mean was saying, like a
- 37:53lot of it was just wasting time, Like I don't care about any of
- 37:57this stuff, and you focused a lot on the science, science and science
- 38:00two, three and four, only to be like, oh, that's science.
- 38:04Got the matter. It was about the people, So that what the
- 38:06fuck did I waste three episodes for? We don't have the time for this,
- 38:08It's right, but but but Rod, I will say it did to
- 38:12Ben had agreed, like it did end beautifully for Loki himself, as that
- 38:16version of Loki. It was a beautiful story for him. It was a
- 38:20beautiful end, if you will, for him. I'm still mad about it,
- 38:22but it was still a beautiful and I mean I just didn't like how
- 38:24he got there. That's exactly what I said when I first started off telling
- 38:28y'all how I liked it. I liked it for Loki, like to me,
- 38:31as a character, he was served well the everybody else I don't know,
- 38:36like even the TVA is an organization, Like I feel like you need
- 38:39another spin off with the TV as an organization for us to even know what
- 38:43those characters are about. But I but the show was called like yeah,
- 38:49but the show was called Loki, and so I get it, Like it
- 38:52was always gonna be Tom Hidleson and Loki's character that was gonna be the main
- 38:58thing and everything else is kind of a shell game. Now, I won't
- 39:00lie. I did enjoy some of the episodes y'all was saying, y'all were
- 39:04didn't think matter. I enjoyed some of them joints, especially the one when
- 39:07my man went back and became a movie star like that, especially that after
- 39:15that motherfucking every scene. I loved him all the way through it. Oh
- 39:19my god, he was possessed. And he came back dancing in you know,
- 39:22he was talking big well, he was getting interrogated, but he knew
- 39:25all the interrogation ship, so he was talking big ship that he's all of.
- 39:32It was highly entertaining because they have people like Tom Middlson, because they
- 39:37have Wilson. I watched these people do anything. I've never seen that woman
- 39:42who plays Sylvie, but she's amazing. I'll watch her do anything. You
- 39:45know that they had moments, but I hear what y'all saying they had.
- 39:51I was entertained enough by those moments. Yeah. But but yeah, when
- 39:55he thought that ship was, it was like work. It was like they
- 40:04hit you down, okay, evil evil, Miss minutes was giving Okay,
- 40:10I mean you know that shirt, y'all don't funk around, yo, that's
- 40:15right there. She Eva came that season two. Dog, Oh my god,
- 40:19the energy I get it. Like, like I said, I ain't
- 40:22like that's enough. I wanted to see more of but it like they went
- 40:25through it too quick. Yeah, because they had I think the time.
- 40:30I mean, but the stuffing they went through too quick. Back to it
- 40:35every time they don't have enough time and then fucking these shows up, Dog,
- 40:38you wanted more miss minutes. They was like, that's enough, I
- 40:42think, but it could also be something that could be solved by better choices.
- 40:45I agree, WHOA. I think they should follow the I think they
- 40:51maun follow the Netflix. I ain't say. I ain't say twenty two.
- 40:54I said fifteen. No, she wasn't there double like fifteen thirteen, the
- 41:00Netflix thirteen episode thing. It's like, like I said, I know all
- 41:04the Netflix Marvel shows weren't great, but when it came to like developing a
- 41:09character and taking some time, they had the time, so you could the
- 41:13second and third leads in those shows. I know more about them than any
- 41:16second or third lead than any of these Marvel shows. Foggy, all of
- 41:21them, yeah, yeah, all of you, right, right, right,
- 41:23Okay, but what the fuck about King now? Like, no,
- 41:27we got it, like cause that's one thing we were talking about before the
- 41:30episode, before we started recording. Is one thing we all agree is the
- 41:32brilliance of how these writers either disposed of King but will never see him again,
- 41:40or left it open or Kan will return and beat this big threat in
- 41:45the King era whatever. What's it called dynasty? Man? Remember when that
- 41:50was like, yes, that's like they completely fucked maybe he completely got rid
- 41:54of all of this excitement. It's like, oh, yeah, that movie
- 41:58just fucked up the one in history. Get us World records, how to
- 42:00fuck up the band? That's like I said, that's I think that's another
- 42:06reason I look so fondly on the series because I understand how impossible that task
- 42:10must have been. Because when they said they were doing this and it was
- 42:14coming out, I was like, Okay, I don't know what y'all think,
- 42:19Like this shit better better not into with like Caine winning and shitcause what
- 42:22y'all gonna do. And they wrote it in a way where you could literally
- 42:27have him winning like it he could come back like say he beat this case
- 42:30in real life, he could come back and be like it was my plan
- 42:34that someone had the whole the time line together. This is my plan too.
- 42:37I'm that nigga, and it would work. You could have them be
- 42:39like, we'll never see this nigga again. They took care of him.
- 42:43That shit would work. Like they could recast them, they could take another
- 42:46character like, oh, this person's the next variant they did. They had
- 42:50so much shit that they were able to leave on the table for the next
- 42:53person to handle. Just I had to take a bowt for them there.
- 42:57I think maybe that's another reason I'm giving the sit there is a lot of
- 43:00credit because I thought that was impossible. But let me let me ask let
- 43:04me ask you all this in terms of, like if if they do end
- 43:07up getting rid of King because of what happens with Jonathan Major's I'm like,
- 43:10who you think fucked up worse him or Gina Corona was Star Wars. You
- 43:20know why it's him? Well, okay, first of all, you made
- 43:22me think it could you could. It depends on how you feel about this.
- 43:25I think it's him because the nigga can actually act. Yes, I
- 43:29think so. I think that's like it's like, bruh, you actually had
- 43:32like a future they cancel magazine Dreams, which people were saying might be an
- 43:37Oscar Big Picture and they and Disney was like, no, to cut that
- 43:40ship out. So like, I feel like his bag was bigger, but
- 43:45you didn't make me think, Michael. If we go by talent, then
- 43:47you could be like, she never deserved a bag. She can't act.
- 43:53They was about to make a whole show, yeah around her. Yeah she
- 43:58fed up the lottery. Yeah, yeah, you're right. But it's a
- 44:01lot of either way, because you know, there's a lot of great actors
- 44:05who you never get a bag, like John of the Major's true, but
- 44:07it's like watching a basketball game and seeing like, man, Kevin Durant should
- 44:12have won more rings as opposed to like, oh, this nigga hit the
- 44:15luckiest half court shot at all time to win his ring. You're not the
- 44:20same, you know, Robert or You're like the twelve nigga. You like
- 44:23you like uh Swaggy p you know, you like Jordan Poole, Like how
- 44:30Jordan Poole, Well he won with the Warriors, but now we see what
- 44:32he looked like on his own. It's like, nah, bro, you
- 44:35whack that's that's that's Gina coronoy I think Rod answered for all of us.
- 44:44Yeah, there we go. But yeah, and I and it's funny too
- 44:49because the worst part is he's incredible in this series. Like I loved him
- 44:52the time. Now. Yeah, when he shows up as he remains at
- 44:57the end of this ship, it's one of one of my favorite things.
- 45:00Uh yeah, just to see he talked from Victor tom Ley. Yes,
- 45:06I'm like this nigga. That's another That's another reason that those those those episodes
- 45:12too through whatever. That's another reason I think they have those episodes in there
- 45:15is to see him flexes like other ship so they could be like like when
- 45:21he just turns out to be a fucking scammer, bro, that I was
- 45:23not right for that. I was sure he was motherfucking the genius where he's
- 45:29just like listen, I'm from Chicago to home with the Shadiocracy of the world.
- 45:31I was like, this niggas a hustler prototype. What a twist and
- 45:37bro, and then the meta levels of this nigga mocking his own fucking stutter
- 45:43he made up for a character. Yes, as he who remains in the
- 45:46city. They had some moments in this ship. Bro. Yeah, I
- 45:52mean and once again it's boded greatness of these actors. A lot of these
- 45:57moments trouble because, like I said, Owen Wilson sells nothing. You know,
- 46:01there is nothing there. These ain't your fucking kids, Homie. You
- 46:05don't know this family from nothing. You chose a billion timelines and this is
- 46:08the one you chose where you suddenly had these two little boys. Whatever.
- 46:13But he sells it just by him looking wistfully at nothing. You know.
- 46:17I'm just like, wow, you know, you do a lot of showing
- 46:21because they don't have I mean a lot of telling because they don't have time
- 46:23to show you. Yeah. And even the friends thing to me, well,
- 46:28he's like, because these are my friends and I don't want to be
- 46:31alone. That's acting. That's not because the script made. I never felt
- 46:37y'all were buddies. No, there we go. What I'm saying, you're
- 46:39sitting in that bar with tears in your eyes talking about that's the homies.
- 46:43I'm like, I guess say the homies. Man. We gotta we gotta
- 46:45say the homies, because that's my problem, right that Sylvie sees everything disintegrated
- 46:50and it's like, let's don't have a brew. It's like certain these characters'
- 46:52choices are kind of you know, and then so and then so they can
- 46:57get to the next point and then suddenly they're like, we're homie. You
- 47:00know, it's whatever. They still I think they did send me the biggest
- 47:02disservice of any action. It's ridiculous. But that that went alone when she
- 47:07sees the world disintegrating and she's like, no, let's have a brew,
- 47:09is like, what was that? What was that? Just her being in
- 47:15McDonald's for five weeks as well, y'all couldn't think of nothing. I thought
- 47:20she was gonna at least go back to where she got plann from and be
- 47:22like, mama, you know something something. Yeah, that ship gone,
- 47:30Mama gone. But one thing I will say, though, if we are
- 47:35going to get more King from here, I don't like what they've done so
- 47:38far with that character. Like this is the kind of the third version that
- 47:43we've seen in him, and every single version he's got defeated. He's gotten
- 47:47defeated. I'm sposed to be scared of this nigga, Like you gotta beat
- 47:51up by ants, like you gotta beat up by a man, and again
- 47:53you get disintegrated. And then now the third time you, he who remains
- 47:57now you, he who got beat up like you ain't you ain't there no
- 48:00more taking out? I like, I like, I like what I say.
- 48:04How am I supposed to be scared of you? Big multi versal threat?
- 48:07But a man beat you? Yeah, his ant to beat you.
- 48:13And let's I'm saying. Maybe he'll come up and he'll be like, oh,
- 48:15that was just part of my plan, Like you know, like that
- 48:16uncle like I brought, I thought about this, This was my plan all
- 48:20along. Like great, hopefully that happens, but like right now, it's
- 48:22like, okay, you would have to kill a man to start Yeah,
- 48:28yeah something once again, like Marrow and the villains in the in the last
- 48:34phase, the villains ain't they're not villaining like they used to. Dog they
- 48:37gotta, they gotta. We don't seen too many villains at this point for
- 48:42y'all to be like skipping y'all, y'all to y'alla through their story. Yeah,
- 48:45they gotta fuck some people up. Like is more deadly than Thanos?
- 48:52Yeah, and like I get so technically he's more deadly than Thanos because he
- 48:59just stroying more t versus and ship, But like it don't feel like like
- 49:04it don't feel like he's like he's looking threats like oh I killed thor I
- 49:07killed did not kill you before? Right, It's and it's like the heat
- 49:14because Loki, he he who remained no pun intendent. He who remains is
- 49:19the one who's the dead list, like that came the Conquerors, not as
- 49:22deadly as he remains, but he remains so benevolent with it. It don't
- 49:28feel villainous. Like if he was like, I fucked that timeline up because
- 49:32I don't like some ship they did, then you go he's a villain.
- 49:37But he was like, I'm just trying to save everybody, but you don't
- 49:39hit the same. And also because he's trying to save the sacred timeline that
- 49:45we've been watching this whole time, so it's like yeah, and even fighting
- 49:55back, he letting them. He's like, man, y'all, just y'all
- 49:58fucking up? Okay, Like that's his whole art. I was trying to
- 50:01keep the story that y'all been watching going. Y'all want to see this other
- 50:05ship like you know, okay, y'all want the old X Man back.
- 50:08That's your fault. Ain't that good? Bro? I'm all fair and I
- 50:15love what if. But you know that it ain't Robert Downey and the rest
- 50:19of the crew fam you know what I mean. That's the one y'all know
- 50:22and love. I think the way they should fix it is they should recast
- 50:25King and they should make it. They should make it Terrence Howard. So
- 50:36we're on the same page, on the same page. That'll fix it.
- 50:38It's the ultimate play. It's the nobody will see it coming. It's the
- 50:43long And he loved math in real life, so he probably do got the
- 50:46equations. He know. I was thinking of Gud from Guardians the Galaxy.
- 50:52They got the same color scheme. Oh man, he did such now you
- 50:57know what. Let me let me take back some of my slander forgot.
- 51:00He was a good villain, fantastic. He was great. I loved him.
- 51:05God damn he was good. Yeah. Yeah, Well he was holding
- 51:10because you know in real life, he was holding like a tennis ball when
- 51:14he was holding Rocket's face. Oh yeah, and this nigga was at ten
- 51:17a god damn black acting school, Black acting SCHOOLA Davis with the State coming
- 51:25out, I was about to start an Instagram account from my action figures,
- 51:30and I wanted to call Black Action School I think I'm had to do it.
- 51:37Now do it now? All right, I'm to do it? So
- 51:40is that it for Loki? I think so? All right? Yeah,
- 51:45before we get out here once again, please start along off of Michael.
- 51:51Let the people know where they can find you at Yo. You can find
- 51:53me everywhere black gay comic gee, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok everywhere.

- 52:10his wife. Ye, shout out to both of them. That'sh It's pure
- 52:14flames. Yeah, I was. I was surprised too. Ship man.

- 52:21yet, so I still got a few more to go. But it's it's
- 52:22fucking I had to take that bitch sloking that ship's fire. I don't blame
- 52:27you. I'm about to go. We're gonna do a rewatch. That's another
- 52:30thing Marvel could have done to just make every episode of Hour. That's another
- 52:34way to get a lot of episodes. And I learned all the characters they
- 52:37got every episode of Hour. You got time for b characters Marvel called me,
- 52:43man, I can fix this ship and Blue Eyes doing so much like
- 52:45with you know, Japanese culture, you're learning all this ship plus the characters,
- 52:51plus the action is just Lord have mercy. Yeah that shit, it's
- 52:54silly. So you know they brought in real stunt actors to do the action.
- 52:59I'm sure. Yeah, but to me that's a surprise because normally with
- 53:04animated stuff they just but they brought it. They showed. I seen them
- 53:07behind the scenes. They brought real people fighting with Avatar the Last Airbender,
- 53:12they had actual market Yeah, yeah, because you know, I think they
- 53:16did that with a lot of the Star Wars too, with some of those,
- 53:19with some of the Jedi fight scenes, because you know, they with
- 53:22dancing and stuff, so when they do fighting, you know it's yeah,
- 53:24that's something. Okay, I'm learning something new, y'all put me on.
- 53:28Oh yeah, yeah, I remember. I'll never forget that when Beauty and
- 53:31the Beast went for the Oscars and they showed how they made that ship,
- 53:35and I was sitting there like, what the fuck. That's how I was.
