- 1:23Speaker 1: It's over.
- 1:25Speaker 3: The tournament is there's no interest? What don't bother coming down?

- 2:35Speaker 4: Well?
- 2:35Speaker 2: I mean, look, I was along for the journey at
- 2:38Speaker 2: that one. You were minutes before the button for record
- 2:41Speaker 2: was pressed, that was pinned.
- 2:43Speaker 1: Well, you were like, I said, well, you know, I've.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Been suggesting like very sad songs.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You go sad. And I said, it'd be great if
- 2:50Speaker 1: you came up with the song and did some work
- 2:52Speaker 1: because I've got any of this gig and you haven't
- 2:54Speaker 1: even said thank you once.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I said thank you so many times. I said thank you,
- 2:58Speaker 2: thank you, Mike, And what do you want me to say? Hey,
- 3:00Speaker 2: you're in the M and M costume. I couldn't you
- 3:02Speaker 2: couldn't hear your eaves were blocked.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Ah, And you go, what if were just saying the
- 3:07Speaker 1: Tina Turner is simply the best, but like just sing
- 3:10Speaker 1: sing it exactly as it is?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:12Speaker 1: And I was like, wow, I.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Was can we just do karaoke?
- 3:15Speaker 1: That's what I was above and beyond.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I was like, what if we went Sablenka hurt herself
- 3:20Speaker 2: today to see if she could feel. She focuses on
- 3:27Speaker 2: the back court the only pain that's real. That's pretty good.
- 3:32Speaker 1: That's not bad.
- 3:33Speaker 2: I'm going to do like for every hit one we do.
- 3:36Speaker 2: That's like upbeat. I'm going to do a very sad
- 3:38Speaker 2: B side.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And you can play forty all.
- 3:43Speaker 2: That's good, My Empire of stress.
- 3:48Speaker 1: This is how it goes when you play tennis.
- 3:54Speaker 2: I was going to say, look at Craig Tyler's mess,
- 3:57Speaker 2: but that's you know, we love Craig Tyler here. Okay,
- 4:00Speaker 2: I'm the lyrics man. Okay, I mean you're the lyrics
- 4:03Speaker 2: fan tennis man. What am I just a chod nothing

- 4:12Speaker 1: up episode tomorrow, so you know, stick with them.
- 4:14Speaker 2: We're coming in off the clock. That's how much we
- 4:16Speaker 2: love this.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Yeah, we're coming in when the tournament is done, wheneveryone's
- 4:19Speaker 1: packing up. We'll be in here tomorrow recapping the men's final,
- 4:22Speaker 1: which is tonight. But this is Pod labor Arena with me,
- 4:26Speaker 1: Mike Goldstein and as always joned by my co host,
- 4:30Speaker 1: the Steffie Graff. To my Monica Sella's Sam Taunton.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I am Steffi Graff. What a what a buzz there is.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Actually I was joking before from the sky that there
- 4:40Speaker 2: was no buzz. It's crazy. I've never been on the
- 4:42Speaker 2: ground for like the final moments of Grand Slam, and
- 4:46Speaker 2: it's very interesting.
- 4:47Speaker 1: It is well, you know, it gives you a buzz
- 4:52Speaker 1: our sponsor as always, Piper Hide six, will it down?
- 4:55Speaker 1: Ask Lord, you're not fully sick, Wester Piper.
- 5:05Speaker 2: You know today after this Pods we are going to
- 5:09Speaker 2: pipa Hatik for a drink, Like we're gonna go have
- 5:11Speaker 2: some drinks. I cannot wait to see if they have
- 5:14Speaker 2: something to say about this.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I'm so surprised we've gotten through this many episodes and
- 5:19Speaker 1: not been They're.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Just obviously a cool sponsor, do you know what I mean?
- 5:23Speaker 2: Like obviously creeping around behind at all, Like what are
- 5:28Speaker 2: you doing?
- 5:29Speaker 1: He's gone for Kubrick.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I think our floors pushed him over the edge. He's like,
- 5:34Speaker 2: I've sat here silently and watched this filth and a
- 5:38Speaker 2: poetry for the last two weeks, but that is enough.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Ask Laurd is one of his burner accounts on Instagram,
- 5:45Speaker 1: where he comments on Sydney sweety post. Nice, you're so
- 5:52Speaker 1: good baby, beautiful baby.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Bob's it's all about Bob loves the bar Burner account
- 6:02Speaker 2: to our haters. Actually like getting the cook comments and
- 6:05Speaker 2: fight back when people say main things about us.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Yeah I should. Maybe I'll get this in now because
- 6:08Speaker 1: we're talking about the ace Man and.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I'm going to be sad when this ends.
- 6:14Speaker 5: It.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I don't get to see you every day.
- 6:16Speaker 1: You can still hang out every day creeping around. I
- 6:19Speaker 1: don't like ace Man out of the seat. It's really like.
- 6:23Speaker 2: What are you doing there? Did we not do all
- 6:26Speaker 2: these checks before the show?
- 6:28Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Someone's been and.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Uh, ace MANU are our camera guy. He's fixing the trade,
- 6:39Speaker 1: jack of all trades. He at about a quarter to
- 6:42Speaker 1: midnight last night. I had three voice messages man.
- 6:46Speaker 2: What sort of because it's a suspect time it is
- 6:49Speaker 2: of the evening. Yeah, was he like? What are you
- 6:51Speaker 2: up to? What are you doing?
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah? Telling me you feel I didn't know, like I
- 6:58Speaker 1: I got to tell you. My anxiety spiked really well
- 7:01Speaker 1: because I was like, what is this about?
- 7:03Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean one voicemail you'd be like,
- 7:05Speaker 2: oh cool, this is fun. I fund a little message
- 7:07Speaker 2: from a friend, three back to back. Yeah, terrifying. I
- 7:10Speaker 2: wondered did they will you play them a breach of.
- 7:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so like uh yes.
- 7:17Speaker 2: By the way, he just shrugged Kazakh.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Well the background on as if you haven't been listening
- 7:22Speaker 1: the whole time. He learned English by watching the Bora movies. Yea,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and we know that that's true.
- 7:27Speaker 2: It sounds like a joke, but that's true.
- 7:29Speaker 1: That's truly true. So the Kazakhstany obviously uh Elena or
- 7:34Speaker 1: Rebekha won the women's final last night Kazakhstan. And then
- 7:40Speaker 1: so this is the first message.
- 7:43Speaker 6: She has brought many glorious in the nation of Kazakhstan
- 7:49Speaker 6: really proud. It was a great success. Now we will
- 7:56Speaker 6: together sing national anthem of my glorious nation.
- 8:02Speaker 1: So and I respond, oh, but I loved it. I
- 8:05Speaker 1: got a big he got a big laugh out of me.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Ace and then I said, I responded, we were so.
- 8:10Speaker 2: Oh great, which is the appropriate, culturally appropriate response. Yeah,
- 8:14Speaker 2: that's beautiful, and that's what you know. World tennis is
- 8:17Speaker 2: all about celebrating coaches and success. We're all Kazakhshani today.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Well, and then someone said we should do the Kazakhstani
- 8:24Speaker 1: national anthem, and I suggested, it's a bon Jovi's my life.
- 8:28Speaker 1: But it's my life, my life, it's my life, and
- 8:33Speaker 1: I really like her, like it's my life. That's good stuff.
- 8:43Speaker 2: God, that is great stuff.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Email us at pod labor at tennis dot com dot
- 8:49Speaker 1: au all your thoughts. Did you love this tournament? Like
- 8:52Speaker 1: it's still not over obviously, but let us know what
- 8:55Speaker 1: your thoughts are, what your feelings. Any suggestions for segments
- 8:59Speaker 1: for the Yeah.
- 9:00Speaker 2: That's a good idea. Yeah, can you let us know
- 9:03Speaker 2: if you prefer this to like real tennis kind of
- 9:07Speaker 2: commentary or like discussion, because I feel like this is
- 9:11Speaker 2: for someone. I don't know who this is for, but
- 9:14Speaker 2: I think people that want some real light tennis. Chat
- 9:17Speaker 2: I got told we're.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Blowing up on the tennis Australian world fee.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I love to hear.
- 9:21Speaker 1: So we're a burg and Guatemala.
- 9:22Speaker 2: This so funny to think about, just some real Australian
- 9:26Speaker 2: centric references. You're talking about Abby Chatfield's boyfriend Guatemala. They're
- 9:31Speaker 2: just furiously googling him.
- 9:34Speaker 1: We have one listener in Saudi Arabia.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Well, I'm always open for taking money, and you know,
- 9:41Speaker 2: I don't want to say the word propaganda, but I'm
- 9:43Speaker 2: happy to kind of you know, curate my content to
- 9:46Speaker 2: suit some kind of nation state.
- 9:48Speaker 1: True.
- 9:48Speaker 2: If the price is.
- 9:51Speaker 1: Ah like follow, subscribe, give us a five star review.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Come to my Perth Fringe show if you're in Australia.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Okay in mid February.
- 10:00Speaker 2: To Samtorton dot com dot are Emailton Comedy Festival, Sydney.
- 10:03Speaker 2: Get around there, some plugs, some shows up. Do zero
- 10:08Speaker 2: tennis chat.
- 10:09Speaker 1: I promise, I think you're a tennis content guy now.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, but if people want to come, okay, I'll do.
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'll close on some tennis stuff, all right. What if
- 10:17Speaker 2: I without Mike the who wrote them all? I just
- 10:20Speaker 2: do I perform all the fantastic intro songs.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Yeah, how do you think that's going to go?
- 10:25Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 10:25Speaker 2: I have some refunds. We'll be asked for probably thinking
- 10:29Speaker 2: he's doing really well for fifty minutes, and then he
- 10:31Speaker 2: closed on ten minutes of the worst niche song parodies
- 10:34Speaker 2: I've ever heard.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Ah, just a few things before we get into the
- 10:39Speaker 1: women's final, the Australian duo of Coobler and Pullman's last
- 10:46Speaker 1: the men's doubles final.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Do you hold me responsible in any way because I
- 10:52Speaker 2: tried to pump them up and my heart wasn't really
- 10:56Speaker 2: in it. In hindsight, if I think back to I
- 10:58Speaker 2: was kind of on the spot and I could have
- 11:00Speaker 2: done better. I should have written something written. Yeah, And
- 11:06Speaker 2: I wonder if they heard that and they were like,
- 11:08Speaker 2: if he doesn't care, why should we care?
- 11:10Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, classic Australian work ethic on both sides.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, I'm sorry guys and look good. I'm
- 11:21Speaker 2: sorry to the country as well well.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I mean it would have been huge. They you know,
- 11:25Speaker 1: got through Kirios and Coconakas in the first round and
- 11:29Speaker 1: then you know they were playing great, but then last
- 11:31Speaker 1: to the American and British pair of Skeepsky and.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Harris Skepsy Skipsky. Yeah, I just can't say that guy's name.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Also, some big celebrities, should we do well? These people
- 11:47Speaker 1: not look not in the stadium. These people were just
- 11:50Speaker 1: around yesterday.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Well that doesn't count because then it's like, what what
- 11:54Speaker 2: I mean, Donald Trump might have been watching on TV
- 11:57Speaker 2: and we're gonna say big celebrity is interested. What's wrong?
- 12:01Speaker 1: I'm not saying watching on TV.
- 12:02Speaker 2: You know who was at the game we were at
- 12:04Speaker 2: the other day, the Prime Minister Tony Albanesi.
- 12:08Speaker 1: Tony Albanesi.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah, oh shit, yeah, isn't that crazy? Our prime minister?
- 12:13Speaker 2: How did he go?
- 12:13Speaker 1: Did he get did they say his name? Did they
- 12:15Speaker 1: say he's here?
- 12:15Speaker 2: And finally saw it on socials. It's a shame they
- 12:18Speaker 2: didn't because I think one of the great joys is
- 12:21Speaker 2: doing a prime minister. But no, I just saw him.
- 12:24Speaker 2: He had good seat. I mean, I shouldn't be surprised
- 12:26Speaker 2: that he had good seats, but he was right down
- 12:28Speaker 2: at the front.
- 12:29Speaker 1: We both met him.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Alb yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. When did you
- 12:32Speaker 2: meet him?
- 12:33Speaker 1: He was on the hundred with any Lee. But he
- 12:36Speaker 1: wasn't he We made him be like part of the screen.
- 12:38Speaker 1: He was like one of the people at home on
- 12:40Speaker 1: their laptop. Oh no, no, he came in. I believe that.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I was like, what wow? And he is ruthless.
- 12:49Speaker 2: I met him and I remember he he like we
- 12:52Speaker 2: were about to go on TV and we went on
- 12:55Speaker 2: and he turned to me. I was sitting next to
- 12:57Speaker 2: him and he'd just been in India with President and
- 13:00Speaker 2: I think he'd been in like a car driving around
- 13:02Speaker 2: a cricket game or something. And then he goes, how
- 13:04Speaker 2: about all this Indian stuff? He is a bit much
- 13:07Speaker 2: and I go what and then they were like, all right,
- 13:09Speaker 2: we're on in five. And then he just switched and
- 13:11Speaker 2: then he was like, we really value our relationship with
- 13:13Speaker 2: America and India. And I was like, what happened to
- 13:15Speaker 2: that other guy who was just there? I mean, my god, India's.
- 13:18Speaker 1: A bit much that's his foreign policy.
- 13:19Speaker 2: But bit much that is an Australian point. That is
- 13:22Speaker 2: my answer to everything. It's a bit much. And there's
- 13:24Speaker 2: a lot going on.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Oh wow, carp out.
- 13:27Speaker 2: Yeah, but look, I've made it this far into my
- 13:30Speaker 2: career with no prep, with nothing written, just with a
- 13:34Speaker 2: bit much bit going on, but going on, bit going on,
- 13:37Speaker 2: big going on. Last night?
- 13:43Speaker 1: What a segue into the women's final Alena Rebecca versus
- 13:48Speaker 1: Arena sable Anka. I love this match. I thought it
- 13:52Speaker 1: was great. I thought it was great.
- 13:55Speaker 2: Well I did.
- 13:56Speaker 1: What do you want me to say?
- 13:57Speaker 2: It's just funny, turny. If you were turning this on
- 14:01Speaker 2: for some serious breakdown, I'm about to get into you.
- 14:05Speaker 2: But what a headline. There's some incredible sports broadcasters out
- 14:08Speaker 2: there in the world that say wonderful things that you know,
- 14:10Speaker 2: describe matches in romantic, poetic ways, and we're like going
- 14:15Speaker 2: on I thought it was great.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Well, actually that is commentary, if you'll hear me out,
- 14:22Speaker 1: because saying a match was great during this second week
- 14:26Speaker 1: of the women's draw is saying something absolutely because they
- 14:29Speaker 1: were all straight sets. Yeah, I mean, besides the cocoa
- 14:32Speaker 1: go mouk of a match, which seems like it was
- 14:35Speaker 1: months ago at this point. This was the first to
- 14:37Speaker 1: go to three sets.
- 14:38Speaker 2: It was at the biggest stage. It's like, be careful
- 14:40Speaker 2: what you wish for. We were here just moaning and winging,
- 14:44Speaker 2: and now we're getting some tight tussles all the way
- 14:47Speaker 2: to the end. It was like, I felt like.
- 14:49Speaker 1: This is our segments. Tight tussle but growing growing.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I'm sure everyone this thing already. The results you want
- 15:01Speaker 2: some stats that I've got sure, okay. Rebecca became just
- 15:04Speaker 2: the fourth woman in the Open era to beat the
- 15:06Speaker 2: world number one and two on her way to win
- 15:08Speaker 2: an Australian Open title. Pretty impressive. Sablanca extended her run
- 15:13Speaker 2: four consecutive Australian Open finals. That's a that's a record.
- 15:19Speaker 1: One and last two.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Yeah. Now she's even Stevens and Delta good Room was
- 15:24Speaker 2: in the crowd. Pretty interesting.
- 15:27Speaker 1: The ambassador of Poper Hude so Yeah.
- 15:31Speaker 2: She's the one that came up with slurp it up,
- 15:34Speaker 2: slurp it down.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, she wrote all that. She came in
- 15:37Speaker 1: here and she was like, yes, is all the copy
- 15:38Speaker 1: you have to read?
- 15:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:39Speaker 2: She handed us pages and pages of that and we're
- 15:42Speaker 2: arely reading the ones acceptable for air.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Yeah. And she was like she wanted the slogan to
- 15:46Speaker 1: be get a good room with good room, And I
- 15:50Speaker 1: was like, thors.
- 15:53Speaker 2: Was this softer version. It was the only thing we
- 15:56Speaker 2: could say.
- 15:57Speaker 1: So she was in the crowd. That's big. There's other
- 16:00Speaker 1: celebrities in the crowd. Jeffrey Rush, Rush, you're a good friend.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Carrie Bickmore, yep, yes. Why is she getting those premium
- 16:10Speaker 1: seats and you're good question?
- 16:13Speaker 2: I would say, because she's much more loved and much
- 16:17Speaker 2: more famous than me, you're getting a bit less yes, yes, yes, yes,
- 16:23Speaker 2: Bill Gates, Bill Gate too.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Maybe we should not speak about.
- 16:31Speaker 2: You. Gotta love those celebts in the crowd. Well would
- 16:33Speaker 2: you think, Well, we included in Celeb Watch when we
- 16:35Speaker 2: were in there yesterday, No, the day before.
- 16:37Speaker 1: I didn't see us.
- 16:38Speaker 2: I didn't see You've got peak celeb going on right now.
- 16:41Speaker 2: You're wearing the glasses. Yeah, why I wore them for
- 16:45Speaker 2: the song like a bit of like a parody of
- 16:47Speaker 2: a recording artist where you've decided to wear them all podcasts.
- 16:49Speaker 2: I've kept them all hungover, Nana, Well, do you have
- 16:53Speaker 2: any drinks last night?
- 16:55Speaker 1: I look, I had some my bride sake, But that
- 16:58Speaker 1: doesn't give you hangovers of any thing.
- 17:00Speaker 2: The next day you feel like taking on the world.
- 17:03Speaker 2: You know, you've got to call your sponsor. If you
- 17:05Speaker 2: feel like a drink.
- 17:06Speaker 1: The sponsored by Piper, I have to call them.
- 17:09Speaker 2: The worst AA of autor Mike, your sponsor is going
- 17:11Speaker 2: to be this fantastic champagne company.
- 17:14Speaker 1: I these sonnies I I was given at.
- 17:19Speaker 2: The given were you're given them at the ball? Honestly,
- 17:23Speaker 2: ask yourself. This is not a clubhouse, isn't it. What
- 17:26Speaker 2: do you call the bull kid clubhouse? It's no, it's
- 17:29Speaker 2: an offense building where they often have to hang out.
- 17:32Speaker 2: But you weren't given them what I would describe them as,
- 17:35Speaker 2: you stole them from the hands of a twelve year old.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I didn't steal these, you stole them.
- 17:40Speaker 1: No, we stole them content there and I happen to
- 17:43Speaker 1: be wearing them when I had all.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Left so you know. So they're beautiful sunglasses, by the way,
- 17:49Speaker 2: and do you know what they are. They're a gift
- 17:51Speaker 2: for the ball Kids to say thank you for participating
- 17:55Speaker 2: and helping us out this mornament. So you've stolen.
- 17:57Speaker 1: I haven't stopped saying stolen.
- 17:59Speaker 2: Why would they give you the They didn't give you
- 18:01Speaker 2: the gift, Well, because we weren't allowed to take. I
- 18:03Speaker 2: wore some sunglasses during we shot a little thing there
- 18:06Speaker 2: and then someone said to me. They were like, you
- 18:08Speaker 2: have to give these back. These are very important to know.
- 18:10Speaker 2: And then we got to the bus and we got
- 18:13Speaker 2: back to your sleeping bag just out of the front
- 18:15Speaker 2: of Melbourne Park where you're staying for the for the tournament.
- 18:18Speaker 2: And you're like, I've got the sunglass.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Yeah exactly. There's a squinting. His eyes are burning, but
- 18:27Speaker 1: it's not.
- 18:27Speaker 2: They look good on you, So I don't know if
- 18:29Speaker 2: it's all worse.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I think I got a bad sunglasses head because I
- 18:32Speaker 1: got a narrow head, so I look like and then
- 18:34Speaker 1: with the big nose and the mustache, I look like
- 18:36Speaker 1: I'm in disguise.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Yeah, well you shouldn't be at the ball Kids clubhouse
- 18:40Speaker 2: anyway with a.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Look like that. Oh, you got to other stats as well.
- 18:45Speaker 2: That's probably all the stats I've got.
- 18:47Speaker 1: I reckon, I have some stats.
- 18:49Speaker 2: I just know that you know, well this neither I
- 18:52Speaker 2: might know that these stats there.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Okay, well that's quick, okay, yeah, neither lady dropped a
- 19:00Speaker 1: set going into the final.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Yeah. When was the last Australian Open that that happened?
- 19:05Speaker 2: You know that that over the topyo head, I mean
- 19:11Speaker 2: you're not gonna get it?
- 19:12Speaker 1: What are we doing? Okay?
- 19:14Speaker 4: Who is it?
- 19:15Speaker 1: Well, guess a year.
- 19:17Speaker 2: At two thousand and I don't know, I don't know.
- 19:21Speaker 2: I happing this in nineteen seventy four.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Oh, you were on the right track really in two
- 19:25Speaker 1: thousand and four. Oh okay, Kim Kleisters and Justine Hennan Harden.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Ohz he Kim.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Yeah, so that was last AO and I believe the
- 19:33Speaker 1: last women's final in a Grand Slam was Venus and
- 19:37Speaker 1: Serena in two thousand and eight. Yeah, with no sets
- 19:41Speaker 1: dropped on the way to the final.
- 19:42Speaker 2: It's pretty cool because like it is that it's like
- 19:45Speaker 2: you know, someone's got to someone's oh's got to go.
- 19:47Speaker 2: You know that kind of energy and I mean savvy.
- 19:51Speaker 2: She blinked first I.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Mean up three zero in the final set, and then what.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Do I hate to ease the word hmmm, but did
- 20:01Speaker 2: she chuck?
- 20:02Speaker 1: I think she's got a finals problem because she's been
- 20:07Speaker 1: in eight and one four. Would you say that's.
- 20:09Speaker 2: A well what were we talking about? Novak Is twenty
- 20:12Speaker 2: four and thirteen in Grand Slam finals. So you want
- 20:16Speaker 2: your ledger to be it's got to be in the positive.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:20Speaker 2: I think that Raff has only lost like eight or
- 20:22Speaker 2: something out of the thousands he's seemingly been in. So
- 20:26Speaker 2: I guess, yeah, you don't want to be she. I
- 20:29Speaker 2: don't think she loses as well, do you know what
- 20:32Speaker 2: I mean?
- 20:32Speaker 1: Like she wears her emotions on her face.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I was looking at who we had in the physio
- 20:37Speaker 1: strength coach.
- 20:38Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the great man.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, he was, you know, sitting in the player's
- 20:41Speaker 1: box and you know, giving it as all, trying to
- 20:43Speaker 1: pump her.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Up, Big Jay. So I saw him there and I
- 20:45Speaker 2: was like, oh, I wonder how he's going with it?
- 20:48Speaker 1: Like she had written mentality on his face before the match. Yeah,
- 20:52Speaker 1: and then uh yeah she did.
- 20:54Speaker 2: Not have them. Yeah. And then there's the towels over
- 20:57Speaker 2: her head, there's tears at the end. I mean it's
- 20:59Speaker 2: like you would be furious.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, so I lived kind of close to the
- 21:05Speaker 1: grounds of the Australian Open.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Well, I mean you're sleeping bag.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Yeah. And uh there's a giant Nike poster that has
- 21:15Speaker 1: sable anca that I walk past every day and it
- 21:17Speaker 1: says just do it.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah right, and she just didn't. Yeah, I mean she
- 21:23Speaker 2: you're right, she wears it. She wears it on his
- 21:25Speaker 2: sleeve and it's beautiful. On the flip side, rebeccaa, which chose.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I mean, my dad would be proud at how little
- 21:33Speaker 2: emotion she gives off.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Oh do you know what I mean? I mean, look, she.
- 21:37Speaker 2: Gave more last than you've probably seen before, just as
- 21:41Speaker 2: us to win little small turns to the box, goes
- 21:43Speaker 2: to shake hands.
- 21:44Speaker 1: So this was like the thing when she won the
- 21:46Speaker 1: Wimbledon final a few years back. She won and like
- 21:50Speaker 1: beat Ann's jibbur who was like the crowd favorite, and
- 21:53Speaker 1: then she just shrugged and walked to the net and
- 21:55Speaker 1: shook hands.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Kind of rules. Hey, I love it. It's like also,
- 21:59Speaker 2: it just means nothing. It's like whatever, another day in
- 22:01Speaker 2: the office. Just I'm here, I win, Yeah, I lose
- 22:04Speaker 2: that is actually the key to success at elite level sports.
- 22:07Speaker 2: It's like, the only thing you can control, yeah, is
- 22:09Speaker 2: what I remember learning as a child. The only thing
- 22:11Speaker 2: you control is can control is the process. The result
- 22:15Speaker 2: is out of your hands, right, So you have to
- 22:17Speaker 2: react the same to a victory as you do a defeat. Man,
- 22:21Speaker 2: do you think there's any truth in that?
- 22:24Speaker 1: I think did your parents tell you that because you
- 22:26Speaker 1: were a loser? Yeah?
- 22:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. I was really struggling, very little friends, the
- 22:30Speaker 2: social circle was getting smaller by the day. Athletically, I
- 22:34Speaker 2: wasn't very gifted. I mean, I.
- 22:36Speaker 1: Guess, yeah, trust the process or whatever you want to say.
- 22:39Speaker 1: But it was just so cool to just stroll up
- 22:43Speaker 1: to the net the big hug and Sabalanca clearly destroyed
- 22:47Speaker 1: one sat on our bench, but the towel over the head.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I mean, there wasn't a lot of rallies in this
- 22:53Speaker 1: match because both women hit the ball so damn hard
- 22:57Speaker 1: and you're just clabbering their serves. The out wide serves
- 23:01Speaker 1: I think best in the women's game. I think they're both, yeah,
- 23:04Speaker 1: the best servers in the women's game. And it was
- 23:07Speaker 1: just a lot of just insanely hardly hit balls.
- 23:11Speaker 2: And not.
- 23:12Speaker 1: I mean, once a rally happened, you know, you get
- 23:14Speaker 1: some energy in the stadium, But there just wasn't.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Just going bang bang bang. Do you think savvy? What
- 23:18Speaker 2: did what happened when she's she's up through love like
- 23:21Speaker 2: and just kind of just she could have gone more
- 23:24Speaker 2: aggressive on her serve when she was upper break Potentially,
- 23:26Speaker 2: I don't know. I think she said that in the
- 23:27Speaker 2: press conference, but like what, I don't know. It's just
- 23:30Speaker 2: was it a lapse in mental judgment because it's like,
- 23:33Speaker 2: this is to go upper break in the last set
- 23:36Speaker 2: of a Grand same final, It's like you just got
- 23:38Speaker 2: to that's when you're gonna be like, all right, foot down,
- 23:40Speaker 2: I'm never going to concentrate harder than I'm going to
- 23:42Speaker 2: concentrate right now.
- 23:43Speaker 1: I think sometimes it freezes the other player up right,
- 23:46Speaker 1: so like they're now a break and they're like, I'm
- 23:48Speaker 1: just going to swing for the turtles. And then Rebeccaha
- 23:51Speaker 1: rattled off what five games being down three zero the
- 23:54Speaker 1: final set.
- 23:55Speaker 2: That bang and then yet to see a smile or
- 23:58Speaker 2: a grin or even if frown, was there a little
- 24:02Speaker 2: hint of a smile smile at the end.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I think there was a hint of a smile, and
- 24:06Speaker 1: it was a killer match. Like I said, three setter,
- 24:10Speaker 1: we needed it. And then the celebration being what it was,
- 24:15Speaker 1: because this is how I'm going to segue into this
- 24:18Speaker 1: is I celebrated more hitting a winning shot and pickleball
- 24:21Speaker 1: against you yesterday.
- 24:23Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I mean it had a lot of.
- 24:25Speaker 1: The real the real final, the real match people want
- 24:28Speaker 1: to hear about.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Well, it kind of followed the trend of the majority
- 24:31Speaker 2: of the matches in Week two of the Australia.
- 24:33Speaker 1: It was a bloodbelt pretty quick, was the school.
- 24:36Speaker 2: When we played full match.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I made sure to record we played five. I won
- 24:39Speaker 1: them all.
- 24:40Speaker 2: Well we played five? Yeah, wait with I for the fifth?
- 24:42Speaker 1: I swear where were you for all five?
- 24:45Speaker 2: It went?
- 24:46Speaker 1: We played pickleball in the courts here at the Australian Open, and.
- 24:49Speaker 2: The courts not I mean, no disrespect to the lovely
- 24:51Speaker 2: folks here that are putting us up for the entire tournament,
- 24:54Speaker 2: but they're playing surface leaves a lot to be desired.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Okay, that was the only way you were winning points
- 24:59Speaker 1: when we fly off a divot.
- 25:01Speaker 7: Uh.
- 25:02Speaker 1: The five games we played in pickleball yesterday eleven zero.
- 25:06Speaker 1: So it started with a bag friend.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Look, you could put that one down to I was rattled. Surprise.
- 25:11Speaker 2: There was surprisingly a lot of people watching.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Well because there was a whole crowd of people waiting
- 25:16Speaker 1: to get into Renee Rap.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Renee Rap was next to us, and there was like
- 25:20Speaker 2: I'm not joking, like three hundred people lining up next
- 25:23Speaker 2: to it, and a lot of them like just turning.
- 25:25Speaker 2: There's nothing going on. They're waiting to get in. They're
- 25:27Speaker 2: they're hours before she starts. So they're like, all right,
- 25:29Speaker 2: two idiots are playing pickle ball. Let's have a look.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Well, I think you were rattled because people were recognizing
- 25:34Speaker 1: me and not you, and they were saying, aren't you
- 25:36Speaker 1: that famous hunk Mike Goldstein.
- 25:39Speaker 2: No, they were like, hey, are you the eminem I
- 25:41Speaker 2: saw in the Australian Open Socials.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Page And then uh so eleven zero you started with
- 25:46Speaker 1: the bagels pathetic?
- 25:48Speaker 2: It's not good?
- 25:48Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, And then ill.
- 25:49Speaker 2: I wouldn't have played if I knew this was going
- 25:51Speaker 2: to be. Like if you were like, because you're a better, ping,
- 25:54Speaker 2: better pickleball player than me and ping pong and ping
- 25:57Speaker 2: pong and tennis. Yeah, but if you're like, hey, do
- 25:59Speaker 2: you want to go guitarists and golf. Well, I mean
- 26:01Speaker 2: now we're getting Now we're being ridiculous. Next you'll say lover,
- 26:05Speaker 2: which is definitely not true. But if you had told me.
- 26:09Speaker 1: It must be a good lover.
- 26:12Speaker 2: It's not all about size and you know shape, right,
- 26:15Speaker 2: there's a lot of other moves.
- 26:16Speaker 1: You can do.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Got a lot of time to think up there and then.
- 26:20Speaker 2: But if you had told me you want to come
- 26:21Speaker 2: and just get absolutely embarrassed and then we'll talk about
- 26:24Speaker 2: it on the pod, I probably would have said, I'll
- 26:26Speaker 2: give it a miss.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Mike, why it was fun, dude. And then eleven seven,
- 26:33Speaker 1: so you kind of make get some dignity.
- 26:35Speaker 2: It's other one. I was up five to one.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 2: And then Mike, I wish you guys could have seen it.
- 26:40Speaker 2: If I wish the Renee Rap fans were in, they
- 26:42Speaker 2: could just back me up here. He was furious at this.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I go up five to one, and then he goes,
- 26:46Speaker 2: all right, I'm going to start trying. And then we
- 26:50Speaker 2: were getting heckled by the Renee Rap fans and people
- 26:52Speaker 2: walking past on the bridge. Yeah, on the breach, they
- 26:55Speaker 2: were screaming out, they were grunting for us.
- 26:57Speaker 1: I know it was it was. It was awesome for
- 27:00Speaker 1: them to behold my prowess eleven six, So you did
- 27:04Speaker 1: okay in that one, but then another bagel at eleven.
- 27:06Speaker 2: Well, what I would like to say is the wind
- 27:08Speaker 2: really started whipping up quite badly, and I was and
- 27:11Speaker 2: I was on the receiving end down wind. You said
- 27:14Speaker 2: it was very difficult to return to and the returning
- 27:18Speaker 2: into the head wind. That pickleball really loves to kind
- 27:21Speaker 2: of bob around in the wind, and it just was
- 27:24Speaker 2: struggling to get back.
- 27:25Speaker 1: Over the Still another bag eleven zero, and then we
- 27:28Speaker 1: finished the day with an eleven three and eleven three
- 27:31Speaker 1: because you refuse to have the eleven zero be the
- 27:33Speaker 1: final match. And then you got three measly points in
- 27:36Speaker 1: the last one, and then by scurried off into the night.
- 27:39Speaker 2: Is it bad that I took some positives? I remember
- 27:44Speaker 2: driving home and I was like, you know what, there
- 27:46Speaker 2: was some you had him on the ropes a few times.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Should we get back to the women's final.
- 27:51Speaker 2: Or one more pickleball chat? They definitely want more pickleball chat.
- 27:56Speaker 1: I don't know, like it's it's sometimes it's obviously that
- 28:00Speaker 1: they want to be winning the Grand Slam. Finals and all.
- 28:03Speaker 1: But like it's four million for the winner and two
- 28:06Speaker 1: million for the loser, so you're still like, eh, it's
- 28:08Speaker 1: still a.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Pretty good day.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:10Speaker 2: But I look, as I've said, I don't think it's
- 28:11Speaker 2: about money. I think I said this the other day.
- 28:14Speaker 2: These guys are competitive freaks that have endorsement deals. I
- 28:18Speaker 2: don't think the money is the thing that motivates them. No. Well,
- 28:21Speaker 2: I mean, like you want the history books. Let's Tabby
- 28:25Speaker 2: won three g four Grand slams now arguably the face
- 28:29Speaker 2: of women's tennis. It's like, I think she's like, I
- 28:34Speaker 2: should be a six seven Grand Slam champion by now,
- 28:37Speaker 2: that's what you would be focused on. What's another two million?
- 28:40Speaker 1: I know was she had.
- 28:41Speaker 2: That's what I say every morning when I wake up.
- 28:43Speaker 2: What's another two million when you're getting one million per
- 28:47Speaker 2: episode for pod labor Arena.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Ah, yeah, of course I think. I honestly think she
- 28:53Speaker 1: should have more finals sable Anca, But she had a
- 28:56Speaker 1: cocoa golf problem there for a while. The matchup just
- 28:59Speaker 1: was a good guy, would move her around too much,
- 29:01Speaker 1: was just insanely good on defense, always making her hit
- 29:05Speaker 1: another ball. But then now, yes, so been an eight
- 29:08Speaker 1: one four, and I gotta say I had a song planned.
- 29:14Speaker 2: It was that text going from Mike last night. He goes,
- 29:17Speaker 2: we need to write another song.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I had tipper back and oh yeah, could we my
- 29:26Speaker 1: tennis knowledge and like the inside that people come here
- 29:29Speaker 1: for me saying Rebecca three sads predicting that and getting
- 29:33Speaker 1: it absolutely right.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's unbelieve. It is almost a man. Oh a
- 29:40Speaker 2: man was on her from the start.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, what we want the what was
- 29:49Speaker 1: I saying?
- 29:51Speaker 2: You were saying, oh song, you had this song, had.
- 29:55Speaker 1: A song it was going to be because it would
- 29:58Speaker 1: have been her fifth Grand.
- 30:01Speaker 2: Slam when yeah, oh yeah dude.
- 30:04Speaker 1: And it was going to be Slambo number five actually was.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Going to be so good. Yeah yeah, and you're going
- 30:08Speaker 2: to go because at the start of Mumbo number five,
- 30:10Speaker 2: because ladies and gentlemen, it's Mumbo number you're gonna ge
- 30:13Speaker 2: ladies and gentleman, it's Slambo number five. Yeah, what the hell?
- 30:19Speaker 1: So she took that from us.
- 30:21Speaker 2: So that sucks. I forgot that that that was the
- 30:23Speaker 2: song is well, god damn it.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I know.
- 30:26Speaker 2: But maybe if we had told her that, maybe if
- 30:28Speaker 2: she had written on Big Jay's face slambo number five.
- 30:33Speaker 2: She might have looked over and just had the bit
- 30:35Speaker 2: of motivation to get it done and not laid down
- 30:37Speaker 2: and just take it in the third set.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Of course, dude, because slambo number five isn't labored or
- 30:43Speaker 1: forced at all, so she would have she.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Would have appreciated it. We should have. We didn't go
- 30:48Speaker 2: last night. No, we should have gone and just been screaming.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Number slambo number five.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Excuse me, gentlemen, We're gonna have to ask you to leave.
- 30:57Speaker 2: I've had a lot of complaints.
- 30:59Speaker 1: From everyone a forehand down the line.
- 31:04Speaker 2: That's all. As far as I got, you didn't get out.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Rebecca rises to world number three and is arguably playing
- 31:14Speaker 2: the best tennis of her life, of her life and
- 31:17Speaker 2: currently in the world.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Do you see her winning more slams this year?
- 31:20Speaker 2: Well? Yeah, I feel like.
- 31:22Speaker 1: She's big on grass that serve on grass. I feel
- 31:24Speaker 1: like she's a Wimbledon favorite if she stays in this form.
- 31:27Speaker 2: So you like her Wimbledon? Yeah, I would like to
- 31:29Speaker 2: see it because we might see more emotion as it
- 31:32Speaker 2: goes on. So I would like to see it, you know,
- 31:35Speaker 2: win a few few more.
- 31:36Speaker 1: How's this? If I get this prediction, right, you have
- 31:39Speaker 1: to eat a tennis ball, right, I'm going to say
- 31:43Speaker 1: Chevan Tech wins the French.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Can I write this down so we can hold you
- 31:48Speaker 2: to again.
- 31:48Speaker 1: Rebeccaa wins Wimbledon. Yeah, and Sabalanca wins the US. Okay,
- 31:54Speaker 1: that's my predictions for the year. You heard it here first,
- 31:57Speaker 1: and then sam Ton will eat a tennis ball.
- 32:00Speaker 2: The tennis ball at the US Open, because I think
- 32:02Speaker 2: we'll be there, won't we.
- 32:03Speaker 1: Well, the Australian Opening, Craig Tyler have signed a contract
- 32:08Speaker 1: in blood that they're sending us to all the Grand
- 32:11Speaker 1: the Grand Slams, with all access, accommodation of our choice,
- 32:16Speaker 1: absolutely free drinks.
- 32:19Speaker 2: What's that I'm just hearing coming through after he heard
- 32:22Speaker 2: slambo number five, he's withdrawing it. That's interesting, very interesting.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Oh god, damn it?
- 32:35Speaker 2: All right?
- 32:35Speaker 1: Should we look ahead to the men's final tonight. I've
- 32:38Speaker 1: never been more pumped for a match. This is going
- 32:41Speaker 1: to be an old timer.
- 32:42Speaker 2: It's a to like, it's historical, the storylines. I'm loving
- 32:46Speaker 2: this photo doing the rounds of a young Carlitos, just
- 32:50Speaker 2: kind of peering over watching Novak warming up.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Yeah, Novak's in the background, and it's it's an amazing photo.
- 32:57Speaker 2: It's a great photo.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Should we steal Andy Roddick's joke?
- 33:00Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, he won't. Don't even credit do the drug?
- 33:04Speaker 1: Well, the tweet, I'll say, you know, we want to
- 33:06Speaker 1: give credit where it's due. That the tweet that he
- 33:10Speaker 1: put out with the photo was a man regrets inspiring
- 33:14Speaker 1: young child.
- 33:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's so good. Hey, it's so good and it
- 33:17Speaker 2: is bang on. I don't know. I'm going into it
- 33:21Speaker 2: with no kind of expectations for who I want to win.
- 33:25Speaker 2: I think watching it that maybe will become clear. I
- 33:28Speaker 2: don't know, but it's I'm not of a neutral supporter ever.
- 33:31Speaker 2: I'm always like, who are we going for? I pick
- 33:32Speaker 2: a team whatever, But I at the moment, I'm just like,
- 33:36Speaker 2: let it wash over me. Whoever wins. It's a great storyline.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Maybe when it starts, I'll be like, oh, I'm actually
- 33:41Speaker 2: on Novak here, I'm actually on Carlos. But at the moment,
- 33:44Speaker 2: I'm just like, let's do it.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Well. We kind of touched on it yesterday, like where
- 33:48Speaker 1: will the crowd support line? Fascinating, They'll be backing whoever's
- 33:53Speaker 1: behind in the score line.
- 33:55Speaker 2: You think, Yeah, yeah, because they just wanted to keep
- 33:57Speaker 2: going and going and going.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I don't know. It depends how many Spanish folk get
- 34:02Speaker 2: a ticket, I think, And same with the Serbian fans,
- 34:04Speaker 2: I think, because they're the real vocal ones. Finals are
- 34:07Speaker 2: often accused of being like, you know, a bit more
- 34:09Speaker 2: corporate or whatever. People have to buy the tickets in advance,
- 34:12Speaker 2: so I don't know, they might just be You're right,
- 34:14Speaker 2: they might just be going for good old fashioned tennis.
- 34:17Speaker 1: People who've paid for a finals ticket. And by the way,
- 34:20Speaker 1: we're going to try and push in front.
- 34:21Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, we have been. We're just in this text
- 34:24Speaker 2: message thread just being like we're going in, how we're
- 34:26Speaker 2: getting Who are we talking to? Can we talk Tily?
- 34:29Speaker 2: We're actually going to called Tily today to try to
- 34:32Speaker 2: make sure he's like, yeah, just get us in the
- 34:34Speaker 2: front little bit. It'll be fine. He needs to know
- 34:36Speaker 2: you get us in the coach's part. Yeah. And I guarantee,
- 34:39Speaker 2: like you know, when you know, if there's a break
- 34:41Speaker 2: and you want to go to the bathroom or something,
- 34:43Speaker 2: I will not be moving. If I get in there
- 34:45Speaker 2: and I sit down, I will be staying there till
- 34:48Speaker 2: next year.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Are you sure you don't have to have like a
- 34:52Speaker 1: a pikelet with your.
- 34:54Speaker 2: It depends girlfriend. Look, it depends at what stage of
- 34:56Speaker 2: the baking process the scones are at.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Yeah, are you sure there's not, like, you know, a
- 35:04Speaker 1: big spread a grazing table with your girlfriend has cornish on?
- 35:09Speaker 2: What the hell is that some cued meat that's been
- 35:11Speaker 2: laid out on my kitchen bench? Are you sure you
- 35:14Speaker 2: don't have complete must go?
- 35:15Speaker 1: Are you sure you don't have to have hirkins with
- 35:17Speaker 1: your girlfriend?
- 35:18Speaker 2: Mike, I made a mistake, and it was also I thought,
- 35:22Speaker 2: you know, it just popped into if anything, I'm guilty
- 35:25Speaker 2: of being too open with you as a friend that
- 35:26Speaker 2: I just let this thing slip. I'm sure if I
- 35:28Speaker 2: sat on it for a little bit longer, i've been like,
- 35:30Speaker 2: that's crazy, I'm going to stay at the tennis.
- 35:32Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 35:32Speaker 2: I think I was just floating my plans with you,
- 35:34Speaker 2: and I didn't know it was going to be, you know, villified.
- 35:37Speaker 2: I've now got other friends texting me saying mean things
- 35:40Speaker 2: to me, being like, what is wrong with you? You idiot?
- 35:42Speaker 2: You were going to leave? It's really causing. I've never
- 35:45Speaker 2: been involved in a real pr scandal and a nightmare,
- 35:49Speaker 2: but that's kind of what this is turning into.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Well, it should be like I could see this match
- 35:53Speaker 1: going to five. Right before it goes to five, You're like, dude,
- 35:58Speaker 1: I'm sorry. I gotta go have sashimi with my girlfriend from.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Sushi Sushi trained. The trains pulling out of the station. Oh,
- 36:09Speaker 2: we got a booking at Sizzler.
- 36:11Speaker 1: Oh, she's got cheesy toast waiting, and I get to
- 36:15Speaker 1: hear about her fucking day.
- 36:17Speaker 2: The day thing is pretty funny. I made a mistake.
- 36:23Speaker 2: I regret it. I regret it, and I wasn't do
- 36:25Speaker 2: it again.
- 36:26Speaker 1: If we get in, we're staying for the long haul.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Yeah, my girl friend and generals since listened back to
- 36:33Speaker 2: the episode and she's like, yep, handing me in a
- 36:35Speaker 2: bad light. She's like, at no point did I ever
- 36:37Speaker 2: support you leaving the tennis to come and see me. Yeah,
- 36:40Speaker 2: it's crazy. She's like, you're an idiot. You need to
- 36:42Speaker 2: own this space.
- 36:43Speaker 1: What's a better storyline for you? Novak becomes I think
- 36:48Speaker 1: the undisputed coade he already is, but like I think
- 36:51Speaker 1: he gets twenty five, he's untouchable.
- 36:53Speaker 2: That's it.
- 36:54Speaker 1: It's the debate over Yeah that he wins twenty five slams,
- 36:59Speaker 1: or that Carlo becomes the youngest to ever have.
- 37:03Speaker 2: So I think, if I'm looking deep down into my soul,
- 37:08Speaker 2: what i want, it's probably Klitos to win. I think,
- 37:11Speaker 2: just because it's exciting and you're looking forward to the
- 37:13Speaker 2: future and it's like, who knows what his feeling is
- 37:16Speaker 2: and how high he can get. But there is something
- 37:18Speaker 2: about I remember the only thing I'm compared to if
- 37:20Speaker 2: we're talking about goats in different sports, when Tiger Woods
- 37:23Speaker 2: won the twenty nineteen Masters and he'd come back from
- 37:26Speaker 2: everyone had written him off, and it was like age
- 37:28Speaker 2: it got him, you know, and then he won, it
- 37:30Speaker 2: was electric And that's kind of a similar feeling to
- 37:33Speaker 2: that with Novak.
- 37:34Speaker 1: There someone story. I mean, Tiger came back from cheating
- 37:37Speaker 1: on his wife's overcoming the adversity.
- 37:39Speaker 2: It was a real battlers, yeah, just sex worker after
- 37:45Speaker 2: sex worker, and he defied the odds, turned to harp
- 37:50Speaker 2: rise from So what I'm saying is it feels like
- 37:53Speaker 2: that big time, But don't you feel it because it's
- 37:57Speaker 2: like there's something about a champion. It does feel like
- 37:59Speaker 2: there's a final chapter with Novak and this could be it.
- 38:02Speaker 2: I think he wins, he should just retire.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Well, like they have an amazing head to head. I
- 38:07Speaker 1: should probably have what that is in front of me,
- 38:09Speaker 1: but I do not. But I think Carlos, you know,
- 38:12Speaker 1: the one time he beat him soundly in a final
- 38:16Speaker 1: was that Wimbledon, and then the one before that was
- 38:19Speaker 1: a killer match. Obviously Novak took the gold full five Okay, yeah,
- 38:26Speaker 1: and Novak winning the gold medal at the Olympics a
- 38:30Speaker 1: couple of years ago was huge right over Carlos.
- 38:34Speaker 2: But Carlos is like, I mean, after what he went
- 38:36Speaker 2: through in that semi, I feel like he's got to
- 38:38Speaker 2: be the most confident guy of all the time. But
- 38:40Speaker 2: I mean it depends how much of the Novak match
- 38:42Speaker 2: you watch, because he might go, oh yeah, where did
- 38:44Speaker 2: he pull that from?
- 38:45Speaker 1: And also five and a half hours on court two
- 38:48Speaker 1: days ago, is he young enough to recover?
- 38:49Speaker 2: Is an a half hours? But like we're talking three
- 38:52Speaker 2: hours of that was him just watching that clock go down,
- 38:56Speaker 2: or he's just standing there like that's not taking it
- 38:59Speaker 2: out of you. Yeah, I played twenty minutes of.
- 39:03Speaker 1: That's probably the worst take you've had this, I don't
- 39:08Speaker 1: think so.
- 39:09Speaker 2: May You've got to remember I had a keich to
- 39:10Speaker 2: get to at the time.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Oh god, yeah, you had a strawberry pasta to go
- 39:15Speaker 1: eat strawberry your girlfriend.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Head, you have a girl friend, I have to go
- 39:22Speaker 2: eat banana bread with my girlfriend. Look, Kalitos might take
- 39:26Speaker 2: a lot of confidence from that, but Novak might just go,
- 39:30Speaker 2: this is it. You don't get any other chances, and
- 39:33Speaker 2: just go for it. You know, if you're playing to
- 39:35Speaker 2: win or playing being like whatever, I can play defensive,
- 39:37Speaker 2: or if you're just like I'm just gonna rip it
- 39:39Speaker 2: and see what happens.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Yeah, could be Novak, could be nova.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I actually don't know.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I don't think anyone does. There's a coin toss, But
- 39:45Speaker 1: what are you calling? Put it on record now?
- 39:48Speaker 2: I think it's I think Novak. I'm going to go
- 39:50Speaker 2: with Novak. I think it's a I love storylines, Yeah,
- 39:54Speaker 2: and I think I mean I said I want the
- 39:56Speaker 2: I want Carloss. I think that's for me, a more
- 39:58Speaker 2: exciting storyline. But I think there's something about if you
- 40:02Speaker 2: think back, like, what is Novak's story going to be
- 40:04Speaker 2: when everything is said and done, the greatest of all time?
- 40:07Speaker 2: What did he do? I just think it seems like
- 40:10Speaker 2: something he would do you know.
- 40:11Speaker 1: He wants I mean they both want it, so they want.
- 40:13Speaker 2: It, but he's also hungry. He's hungry and it's like
- 40:16Speaker 2: that he's the greatest of all time. It's like, this
- 40:19Speaker 2: is what crazy champions do. They just add another thing
- 40:22Speaker 2: where you're like, I can't believe they did that. He's
- 40:24Speaker 2: a winner at his core, loved the Australian hope and
- 40:26Speaker 2: if there was going to be a saying that he
- 40:28Speaker 2: did this at it's his So well, he's.
- 40:30Speaker 1: Never last in an al final. He's won ten of ten,
- 40:33Speaker 1: so he's getting close to I mean, if he wins eleven,
- 40:35Speaker 1: that's getting close to you know, Nadal's fourteen. It's a French.
- 40:39Speaker 2: It's wild right, he's a he's a Melbourne Park specialist,
- 40:42Speaker 2: whatever that means.
- 40:43Speaker 1: But is the okay, how much does age factor in?
- 40:46Speaker 1: Because our sound guy he'd.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Say that my take was the worst take, the tomnament
- 40:51Speaker 2: Aceman's take. You go you let it out because I
- 40:54Speaker 2: think it's absolutely horrific.
- 40:55Speaker 1: He said that the age thing is a is a myth?
- 40:58Speaker 1: Is that how he put it?
- 40:59Speaker 2: He said to me, he goes his age is not
- 41:01Speaker 2: real and I'm like, well, you're denying he's thirty eight,
- 41:04Speaker 2: and he goes, no, I don't buy into it. He goes,
- 41:06Speaker 2: I just don't buy into his body being done. He's like,
- 41:09Speaker 2: thirty eight is fine, and I'm like, I get it
- 41:12Speaker 2: that you're a man in your thirties and you don't
- 41:14Speaker 2: want to admit that your body is slowly starting to fail. Yeah,
- 41:17Speaker 2: but the facts are there that Novak is flowing down.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Thirty eight years old versus twenty two years old.
- 41:22Speaker 2: A young twenty. I would love to be twenty two again.
- 41:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, look, I love Novak, He's been around
- 41:29Speaker 1: so long, been doing so much.
- 41:30Speaker 2: But I think Carlos and for you think Carlos him four,
- 41:33Speaker 2: and what's the storyline that you like better.
- 41:35Speaker 1: I like twenty five. I think it caps the career.
- 41:38Speaker 1: I think he'll still play slams the rest of the year,
- 41:40Speaker 1: but I don't know if he'll get through Center and
- 41:42Speaker 1: Algaaz again. And I just think Carlos. I think the
- 41:46Speaker 1: youth thing is huge. Some stats are producer Eerol. Shout
- 41:50Speaker 1: out to Errol doing such a great job over the
- 41:53Speaker 1: past few weeks. The number one song in nineteen eighty
- 41:58Speaker 1: seven when Novak.
- 41:59Speaker 2: Was born, Oh fantastic seconds may wait in Australia.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and the Australian charts. Paul lacacis boom boom. Let's
- 42:08Speaker 1: go back to my room?
- 42:09Speaker 2: Oh wow, yeah okay, or in your case boom boom,
- 42:13Speaker 2: let's go back to my sleeping bag out in front
- 42:15Speaker 2: of Melbourne Pop.
- 42:15Speaker 1: Yeah, on the bench outside Margaret.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Corterina Okay, any other any other stats about that year?
- 42:22Speaker 1: Number one movie Beverly Hills Cop two. That's Beverly Hills
- 42:25Speaker 1: Cop one, but you know, still funny Eddie Murphy in
- 42:28Speaker 1: his absolute prime. And then to juxtapose that with Carlos's birthday,
- 42:33Speaker 1: Carlito was born fifth of May two thousand and three.
- 42:36Speaker 1: Got them, Well, the number one song at that time
- 42:40Speaker 1: was fifty Cents in the Cloude.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, we should have done that. If he wins,
- 42:46Speaker 2: let's do that tomorrow for song.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's good, and we'll do boom boom if
- 42:51Speaker 1: no back wins.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't know boom boom. Do you know
- 42:54Speaker 2: the song.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Boom boom boom? Take you back to my room?
- 42:58Speaker 2: I was thinking of the Vina boys. Well want number
- 43:04Speaker 2: one movie?
- 43:07Speaker 1: Bo what's a number one movie matrix reloaded?
- 43:11Speaker 2: Oh dude, that's shit it's a classic. The sequels are
- 43:14Speaker 2: not good, but whatever you have bad.
- 43:17Speaker 1: Takes young ah and just quickly. Taylor Fritz was asked
- 43:25Speaker 1: who he likes to win the men's final and his
- 43:31Speaker 1: response was.
- 43:32Speaker 2: Who are you cheering for on Sunday? I'm cheering for
- 43:35Speaker 2: myself to have a great day. I don't care who
- 43:37Speaker 2: wins what.
- 43:38Speaker 1: And also, is it any wonder Breakpoint on Netflix did
- 43:45Speaker 1: not take off?
- 43:47Speaker 2: What was he in his covet as well? In a
- 43:48Speaker 2: game of chair? Yeah, is streaming out to the world
- 43:52Speaker 2: just feel like, I don't care, it would suck. I
- 43:55Speaker 2: think we were talking about this the other day. It's
- 43:57Speaker 2: so funny that, like it's like three is get to
- 44:00Speaker 2: in their prime, get to experience Grand Slam Finals because
- 44:03Speaker 2: the others are just so filthy. They didn't make it
- 44:05Speaker 2: there so they can't watch it. They're not going to go.
- 44:07Speaker 2: It'd be such cock behavior to just sit in the
- 44:10Speaker 2: stadium just watching better players than you. Well ta his
- 44:14Speaker 2: career glory.
- 44:16Speaker 1: But instead you're playing Call of Duty on Twitch.
- 44:19Speaker 2: And and just being like, I'm going to have a
- 44:21Speaker 2: great time, care have a great day. Like my influence
- 44:26Speaker 2: girl round.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Maybe it makes me take a million photos and then whatever.
- 44:29Speaker 2: Bro, he's a likable fellow.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Ah right, Sad wraps it up.
- 44:38Speaker 2: All right, we're going to go line up out the
- 44:40Speaker 2: front of Rod Laver.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Samuel. What do you think our chances are of getting
- 44:43Speaker 1: in to the final?
- 44:44Speaker 2: Well, if you take the glasses off, we're a better chance.
- 44:48Speaker 1: You look sneaky.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Yeah, and everyone knows that the ball Kids sunglass it
- 44:53Speaker 2: was gifted to be. Yeah, I know, but it's still
- 44:56Speaker 2: I think it says something about the ball Kids on
- 44:57Speaker 2: the on the actual sunglasses in the logos property of Bulky.
- 45:02Speaker 2: If lost, please return to ball Kits.
- 45:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 45:05Speaker 2: I think we're a big chance. I'm surprised the weight
- 45:08Speaker 2: we have.
- 45:09Speaker 1: We've got to get there early. We got to get
- 45:11Speaker 1: my sleeping bag and get outside and make sure we're
- 45:15Speaker 1: camped out for it.
- 45:16Speaker 2: Just in the in the take it into the seats
- 45:18Speaker 2: as well, just for a rug up. And it's cold
- 45:20Speaker 2: out there.
- 45:21Speaker 1: It'll be cold.
- 45:22Speaker 2: I think. Look, let's be real, we are lower on
- 45:26Speaker 2: the priority of most of the world's international media. We're
- 45:30Speaker 2: new to being respected tennis journalists, but we're making waves
- 45:35Speaker 2: and it will really be down to the discretion of
- 45:39Speaker 2: whatever lovely person is letting us in at the stadium.
- 45:43Speaker 1: All right, I think we can pull some strings. I
- 45:45Speaker 1: think we'll be in there.
- 45:47Speaker 2: I think we have to be.
- 45:48Speaker 1: We have to be. We're doing the recap tomorrow.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Exactly where actually got to do work. There'll be other
- 45:52Speaker 2: people that a lot of people are jetting out. They're
- 45:53Speaker 2: already kind of pulling stuff down around here, like getting
- 45:56Speaker 2: ready to move that. It is very sad.
- 45:59Speaker 1: But also our plan is to drink all day. Yeah,
- 46:02Speaker 1: try and get in.
- 46:03Speaker 2: Yeah, which I think is flawless, absolutely flawless, because you
- 46:07Speaker 2: have a bit a bit more courage sometimes. Yeah, push in,
- 46:11Speaker 2: you push in. Yeah, you do some morally bankrupt type behavior,
- 46:16Speaker 2: oh yeah, yeah, like cut in front of people still
- 46:19Speaker 2: their actual ticket, Push old ladies. I'm not going to
- 46:21Speaker 2: push old ladies. I'd push an old man that me.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I'm a gentleman. You are a gentleman. So you'd push
- 46:28Speaker 1: Rod Labor out of the way to get into his
- 46:30Speaker 1: own stadium.
- 46:30Speaker 2: Well, he's got a hell of a seat, doesn't he.
- 46:33Speaker 2: I'm not going to push him, I'd say, I'd say
- 46:37Speaker 2: i'ld split it with him.
- 46:38Speaker 1: You're going to sit on his lap?
- 46:40Speaker 2: Well, no, he'd have to sit on my lab. Just
- 46:43Speaker 2: a basic look at the strength. I'm not saying, yeah,
- 46:46Speaker 2: I'm stronger than Rod Labor. He can sit on my lab.
- 46:48Speaker 2: But what if we went we went.
- 46:49Speaker 1: You had to think about that a while.
- 46:51Speaker 2: If you're stronger, have you seen the seat he has?
- 46:54Speaker 1: He has Rocket Rod. His seat is obvious. He's got
- 46:57Speaker 1: the best seat in the house.
- 46:58Speaker 2: It's his. Can he go there like at any time
- 47:02Speaker 2: and just be like, yo, I'm just going home and
- 47:05Speaker 2: just walk around because it's not just tennis that Yeah.
- 47:08Speaker 1: I saw him sitting in that seat for the Weezer concert.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, I saw him there at Billie eilisheh.
- 47:15Speaker 2: It was crazy a yeah.
- 47:18Speaker 1: And our interview today is with another legend of tennis.
- 47:22Speaker 2: Oh, this one is cool.
- 47:23Speaker 1: I think this was your first interview when you jumped
- 47:25Speaker 1: in on the pod. This is with Pat Raff.
- 47:27Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, yeah, I started with Pat. Yeah, and he
- 47:29Speaker 2: and I hit it off straight away.
- 47:30Speaker 1: For our audio listeners, Sam, this was the first time
- 47:33Speaker 1: you got the courage to actually talk during an interview.
- 47:37Speaker 2: I know, it's crazy. I've been sitting over there with
- 47:38Speaker 2: Aceman this entire tournament, just kind of trembling, if I'm honest,
- 47:43Speaker 2: like just you know, shaking scared sometimes tears quick, Yeah exactly.
- 47:48Speaker 2: I don't know where I found the courage. And then
- 47:50Speaker 2: I just sat there and I introduced myself to Pat
- 47:53Speaker 2: and then I've been a regular since.
- 47:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you were inspired by another aging hunk and decided
- 47:58Speaker 1: to jump in.
- 48:00Speaker 2: I was like, I like you on the undies, I
- 48:03Speaker 2: like you the Bond Bonds.
- 48:04Speaker 1: Mate, great ones.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Is that your accent? What do you? Is that your
- 48:09Speaker 2: best Australian again? Yeah, that's pretty good. Chrispy bike and
- 48:13Speaker 2: beg what that's not a saying. It's not like a
- 48:19Speaker 2: textbook Australian saying.
- 48:20Speaker 1: Yeah, you guys all say Krispy Krispy.
- 48:22Speaker 2: Bacon burger you're going to do? That's not a nice
- 48:26Speaker 2: rip on the barbie. I mean we never say that,
- 48:28Speaker 2: but at least people think that, what if Bora was Australia.
- 48:31Speaker 1: Oh that's not my wife.
- 48:33Speaker 2: That's this is my wife. It's pulled out an eight
- 48:39Speaker 2: foot woman.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Welcome back to Pod laver Arena Today. On the Pod
- 48:49Speaker 1: we are former world number one Pat Rafter.
- 48:54Speaker 2: That's crazy. I'm shaking. I can't believe it. Face to face. Yeah,
- 48:58Speaker 2: this is wild.
- 48:59Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, I'm the only undefeated number one ever
- 49:02Speaker 5: oh why is that? Yeah, I for one week and
- 49:05Speaker 5: I was having a week off. And when I went
- 49:06Speaker 5: back next week, I was number two in.
- 49:12Speaker 1: One week.
- 49:12Speaker 2: One week at the and.
- 49:13Speaker 5: I was having a week off.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:15Speaker 1: I should have kept having more weeks off.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I would have stated number one forever.
- 49:19Speaker 1: At number one? What were you doing during that week?
- 49:21Speaker 1: Just enjoying it?
- 49:21Speaker 5: We finished Wimbledon Semis and then went straight to Dave's
- 49:24Speaker 5: Cup in Boston, which was brutal, and got through that,
- 49:27Speaker 5: and then I had a week off because I lived
- 49:29Speaker 5: in Bermuda, so I popped back to there and then
- 49:31Speaker 5: I went and played another tournament after that, and LA
- 49:34Speaker 5: I think right, Yeah, so you a long stint for
- 49:38Speaker 5: about eight nine weeks on the road, Yeah, playing every week.
- 49:41Speaker 2: You needed a week off before we were then you
- 49:43Speaker 2: had the US Swing. Yeah, but did you get so
- 49:45Speaker 2: how much of the like when you're world number one,
- 49:48Speaker 2: you get to be like, I'm the best, there's no
- 49:49Speaker 2: one the better. You got six days off.
- 49:52Speaker 5: I just sat back and blew smoke up my arm.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I got a guy, You got it. You just
- 49:58Speaker 2: listened to myself. Yeah, I had myself on the back. Yeah,
- 50:00Speaker 2: go into restaurants and be like any deals for the
- 50:03Speaker 2: best tennis player in the world.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Is anyone listening?
- 50:07Speaker 7: We were, We were number one podcast for a week.
- 50:09Speaker 2: What happened?
- 50:10Speaker 1: Well we took a week off.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Yeah, and.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Awesome to have you in. Also, you were Australian of
- 50:22Speaker 1: the Year in two thousand and two. What what were
- 50:25Speaker 1: the duties as Australian of the Year.
- 50:28Speaker 2: Yeah, what do you have to do?
- 50:29Speaker 1: Is it like shoeies and jewey pre pre shoeies?
- 50:34Speaker 4: Oh?
- 50:34Speaker 2: Thank god you got the showy going, did you? That
- 50:36Speaker 2: was your initiative.
- 50:38Speaker 5: I got off of to do one sometime last year
- 50:41Speaker 5: and I declined, it's disgusting. Yeah, I've never Yeah, but
- 50:46Speaker 5: I traveled around and you still have a message in
- 50:48Speaker 5: a point of view, and you try to sort of
- 50:50Speaker 5: use a bit of a political slant on things, so
- 50:54Speaker 5: to speak. So I went out to Mount Eyes. I
- 50:56Speaker 5: hadn't been back there a long time because I grew
- 50:59Speaker 5: up there, just to be a bit of a revisit
- 51:01Speaker 5: out there.
- 51:02Speaker 2: Found we don't. Yeah, we were talking about it before
- 51:06Speaker 2: and it's and it's like, you know, a lot of
- 51:08Speaker 2: people that live in the city would never go out
- 51:10Speaker 2: to Mount Isac because it's so far away and so
- 51:11Speaker 2: kind of isolated, great town to do stand up in,
- 51:14Speaker 2: but it's different to the rest of Australia.
- 51:17Speaker 1: It's a different crowd.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Well, like more up for it, but yeah, a bit
- 51:20Speaker 2: different to what you'd get if you're doing stand up
- 51:22Speaker 2: in Melbourne or Sydney. But how did you find it
- 51:24Speaker 2: growing up there and then playing tennis and having to
- 51:26Speaker 2: go and play tournaments.
- 51:27Speaker 1: When you're a kid, you know, use this all, you know.
- 51:29Speaker 5: So I had eight brothers and sisters, so we grew
- 51:33Speaker 5: up out the bush there and my father was actually
- 51:35Speaker 5: an accountant for the mines in the sixties, so they were
- 51:38Speaker 5: there seventeen years.
- 51:40Speaker 1: Yeah, it was pretty.
- 51:41Speaker 5: Warm, but as a kid, you don't really know any better.
- 51:44Speaker 5: Thirty thousand people lived there then though, because it wasn't
- 51:47Speaker 5: a fly and fly out.
- 51:48Speaker 1: That's the less people that were here on opening day
- 51:51Speaker 1: of Qualify. Yeah, it seems like a big number for
- 51:55Speaker 1: a little town.
- 51:58Speaker 5: It went town a thousand people in the eighties because
- 52:00Speaker 5: the whole flying fly out right.
- 52:02Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, so started moving.
- 52:04Speaker 7: You said you got eight brothers and sisters. I know
- 52:07Speaker 7: one of them.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Who's that.
- 52:08Speaker 7: I did a group assignment with Dave.
- 52:12Speaker 1: Yeah you t Yeah, did he hold his you look.
- 52:18Speaker 4: Yeah, related, but it was we just knew what you need.
- 52:30Speaker 7: The day rafter was paradraft.
- 52:33Speaker 1: Did he like hold his project?
- 52:36Speaker 3: Was he like?
- 52:37Speaker 2: He was actually really good?
- 52:38Speaker 7: It was like campaign management or something like that. He
- 52:41Speaker 7: was the top dog.
- 52:42Speaker 2: What did you get a good mark?
- 52:43Speaker 7: I think we might have got an okay mark, Okay,
- 52:46Speaker 7: the top dog.
- 52:48Speaker 2: The rest of the crew the top dog. Obviously it
- 52:51Speaker 2: was like.
- 52:51Speaker 7: An eight person group assignments.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Eight person and he did all the work.
- 52:55Speaker 7: He did all the work and came and another girl
- 52:58Speaker 7: that did most of the work. Okay, we spent a
- 53:00Speaker 7: lot of time, but there's that connection. Do you feel
- 53:04Speaker 7: closer to me?
- 53:07Speaker 1: Well, Pat, while we have you, I want to run
- 53:09Speaker 1: a couple of things by you. There used to be,
- 53:12Speaker 1: as I'm sure you guys are all aware, a popular
- 53:14Speaker 1: Australian TV show, Packed to the Rafters. We're repitching it
- 53:19Speaker 1: to Channel nine, as if we could bring the image
- 53:23Speaker 1: up Packed to the Rafters. Yeah, but I think there
- 53:27Speaker 1: was another one where we just we actually made a
- 53:30Speaker 1: Pat to the rafters.
- 53:35Speaker 2: That's just from my camera.
- 53:38Speaker 1: Well there's okay, we went back to that for some reason.
- 53:41Speaker 2: That's I don't keep looking at it.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Yeah, would you would you do this where you play
- 53:45Speaker 1: all the parts. Yeah, and that feels like an Eddie
- 53:47Speaker 1: Murphy movie.
- 53:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:48Speaker 5: I mean, look at this cute little baby.
- 53:52Speaker 2: It looks like a one man show at the Adelaide Fringe,
- 53:55Speaker 2: doesn't it. It does just pat there in a tent character,
- 53:59Speaker 2: one done.
- 54:00Speaker 7: Show about you, like a musical or something.
- 54:03Speaker 1: Do you imagine how bad?
- 54:04Speaker 2: I mean, what are they going to do?
- 54:05Speaker 7: Shane warned music?
- 54:07Speaker 5: There's there's a The musical is a bit of a
- 54:11Speaker 5: different league. But the regun one okay, well that's probably
- 54:14Speaker 5: a comedy.
- 54:19Speaker 1: And then obviously you did the Bond underwear campaign and
- 54:22Speaker 1: we had that picture of you que It's no way
- 54:28Speaker 1: I want to soak it all in.
- 54:29Speaker 2: I think can we use man?
- 54:32Speaker 1: One more thing? I wanted to run by you. This
- 54:35Speaker 1: is this is our friend fellow comedian Ben.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Lomas bely Man, good comedian.
- 54:42Speaker 1: Do you see any I there's a lot of civiliz.
- 54:46Speaker 2: Away. I sort of do.
- 54:48Speaker 1: His big joke because he gets on stage, gets a
- 54:50Speaker 1: laugh every time he says, my friends call me fat rafter.
- 54:56Speaker 1: He could be a brother that doesn't hold it. You know,
- 55:03Speaker 1: that's funny. He'll love that. That is a good head
- 55:06Speaker 1: of hair. Actually, yeah, Pat, we've been rounding off the
- 55:12Speaker 1: interviews by doing our own one point slam on the
- 55:14Speaker 1: ping pong table over there.
- 55:17Speaker 2: The steaks.
- 55:18Speaker 1: We don't have a million dollars to give away, so
- 55:19Speaker 1: the steaks are sting pong, So the loser, the winner,
- 55:23Speaker 1: gets to smash a ball at him.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Did you have curios come in?
- 55:25Speaker 1: Exactly what happened? Okay, yep, so you're taking of Sam Taunton,
- 55:32Speaker 1: but fantastic. Yeah. What do you think fell for the
- 55:34Speaker 1: sting pong?
- 55:35Speaker 2: When you show itself?
- 55:36Speaker 3: Oh?
- 55:37Speaker 2: Yes, heaped. It's that's what I means show it off.
- 55:43Speaker 2: And oh yeah, we're gonna we're gonna do We're gonna
- 55:47Speaker 2: do it here.
- 55:48Speaker 1: Okay, all right, So this is the one point slam
- 55:53Speaker 1: to underwear models facing off Sam Tomton serving to Pat Rafter.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Here we go, all right, Oh and Pat said shirt

- 56:20Speaker 1: go around there. Oh, here we go. Be cool as
- 56:24Speaker 1: cool as you can, Pot Rafter. Here we got a
- 56:33Speaker 1: quick photo. Swill it down, asked Lords
