- Lucas: Hey Luna, welcome back to Learn Cantonese with Fexingo. I was just thinking about our beach episodes. Luna: Oh, those were fun. We did swimming, sunbathing, even playing in the sand. Lucas: And today, we're going to build something. Something with sand and a little imagination. Luna: A sandcastle? Are we building sandcastles today? Lucas: Exactly. That means 'I want to build a sandcastle', right? Lucas: Right. 堆沙 is the verb for building with sand. So 我想堆沙. Luna: 我想堆沙. I like that. It's like saying 'I want to pile up sand'. Lucas: Yeah, exactly. Now, if you want to invite someone to build with you, you say 我哋一齊堆沙. 我哋一齊堆沙. Luna: 我哋一齊堆沙. That's 'let's build a sandcastle together'. Lucas: Perfect. So picture this: you're at the beach, you see a friend, and you say 我哋一齊堆沙. Let's build together. Luna: 我哋一齊堆沙. I can imagine saying that to someone. So friendly. Lucas: Now, once you're building, you might want to describe the sand. 沙好幼 means 'the sand is fine' or 'soft'. So 沙好幼. Luna: 沙好幼. That's good to know. Like when the sand feels silky. Lucas: Right. So if you're at a nice beach, you can say 沙好幼. The sand is fine. Luna: 沙好幼. I'll try to remember that. Lucas: And when your castle is looking impressive, you can say 城堡好大. The castle is big. 城堡好大. Luna: 城堡好大. That's a great phrase for showing off your creation. Lucas: So let's hear all four: 我想堆沙, 我哋一齊堆沙, 沙好幼, 城堡好大. Luna: 我想堆沙, 我哋一齊堆沙, 沙好幼, 城堡好大. I feel like a pro already. Lucas: You are doing great. Now let's put them together in a little scene. Imagine you're with a friend. You say 我哋一齊堆沙. Friend says 好呀. Then you notice the sand is fine, so you say 沙好幼. And after building, your friend says 城堡好大. Luna: That's a whole conversation. So practical. I love it. Lucas: Let's practice once more. Repeat after me: 我哋一齊堆沙. Luna: 我哋一齊堆沙. Lucas: 沙好幼. Luna: 沙好幼. Lucas: 城堡好大. Luna: 城堡好大. Lucas: And one more time, 我想堆沙. Luna: 我想堆沙. You know, I'm tempted to build a real sandcastle after this. Lucas: Go for it. And remember to say 我想堆沙 when you get there.
