Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: When a season ends, everybody starts to air out their grievances.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Here he starts to snitch. He's doing some snitch. Who's
- 0:07Speaker 2: the snitch? Right? Yeah.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher was in the locker room today at the
- 0:11Speaker 1: Novacare Complex, And of course you can hear more on
- 0:13Speaker 1: the Inside of the Birds podcast, which you can get
- 0:16Speaker 1: on all podcasting platforms, and he joins us right now
- 0:18Speaker 1: for today's football at four Motion today. That you know,
- 0:22Speaker 1: I think most people thought the Eagles would probably ugly
- 0:25Speaker 1: win this game. They're at home, it's a banged up
- 0:27Speaker 1: Niner team. We thought it would be an ugly game.
- 0:31Speaker 1: It was ugly, but a loss. Now, there's so many questions.
- 0:35Speaker 1: The first question, I guess would be when you look
- 0:38Speaker 1: at that team and why they lost, is it as
- 0:40Speaker 1: simple as they were out coached, they were out schemed,
- 0:43Speaker 1: or is there a bigger problem here?
- 0:46Speaker 3: Well, yes and yes, I mean I absolutely believe they
- 0:49Speaker 3: were out coach. Now schemed, I'm surprised that I would
- 0:53Speaker 3: add Vick Fanzeos to that list of coaches who was
- 0:56Speaker 3: out coached. He has not been out couching very often
- 1:00Speaker 3: since we've been in Philadelphia. I mean, you can certainly say,
- 1:03Speaker 3: Kyle Shanahan, with a whole lot less to work with,
- 1:05Speaker 3: got the best of him and got some big plays
- 1:07Speaker 3: off But also to your question on the other part,
- 1:13Speaker 3: the lack of offense that we've seen is part of a
- 1:16Speaker 3: broader problem that wasn't just a against the San Francisco
- 1:19Speaker 3: forty nine forty nine ers issue. It's something we've seen
- 1:23Speaker 3: all year long.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Right, Well, okay, so let's start with a couple of
- 1:28Speaker 1: things here, Nick Sirianni, I certainly don't see a well,
- 1:34Speaker 1: I don't want to say I don't see a scenario
- 1:36Speaker 1: because I think we can talk about a scenario that
- 1:38Speaker 1: I see. How much culpability do you put it him
- 1:41Speaker 1: for what happened yesterday and really and really this season?
- 1:46Speaker 3: Jeff Yeah, I.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Mean he's coming off of a super Bowl. He's been
- 1:51Speaker 1: to the playoffs five years in a row. He's been
- 1:53Speaker 1: to two super Bowls, He's one one. He's a really
- 1:55Speaker 1: hard guy to quantify. There's a lot of people that say,
- 1:57Speaker 1: what does he do? You know, you can move on
- 1:59Speaker 1: from him, but in a season like this, how does
- 2:03Speaker 1: Jeffrey Loriie look at this season?
- 2:06Speaker 3: Jeffrey lear is gonna want answers who is gonna want
- 2:08Speaker 3: to know where it went wrong and why his offense
- 2:11Speaker 3: that is the highest hid offense in the league can
- 2:13Speaker 3: produced points. And I'm sure Kevin Petulo is going to
- 2:17Speaker 3: come up with it.
- 2:18Speaker 1: You know.
- 2:18Speaker 3: I was in the locker room today and obviously there
- 2:20Speaker 3: was a lot of discussion from the from Jordan Malotta,
- 2:24Speaker 3: himself and Barkley on on player accountability and responsibility. I
- 2:27Speaker 3: don't think it's anybody's fault from a coaching standpoint that
- 2:30Speaker 3: this offensive line wasn't elite. I think that's a huge
- 2:35Speaker 3: reason by offensively they weren't at least where they were
- 2:38Speaker 3: at last year. But it is fair to say over
- 2:41Speaker 3: the last two years offensively, Mike, they have not been
- 2:45Speaker 3: what you expect from a team that has as many playmakers.
- 2:47Speaker 3: So that makes it more than just a Kevin Patulo issue.
- 2:50Speaker 3: It makes him within one person, and it just invites
- 2:54Speaker 3: that discussion about the scheme or the quarterback or a
- 2:58Speaker 3: combination of both. Does the scheme isn't that way because
- 3:02Speaker 3: of the quarterback and vice versa.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Well, I asked that question because I could see a
- 3:08Speaker 1: scenario with Nick, and again I'm not a Nick hater.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I appreciate what he's done.
- 3:13Speaker 1: But I could see Jeffrey Lourie saying, look, this league
- 3:17Speaker 1: moves fast. Things evolve, and we're not evolving with the league.
- 3:20Speaker 1: We got a Super Bowl, we've been to a Super Bowl,
- 3:22Speaker 1: we had a great five year run, but we want
- 3:24Speaker 1: to be five years ahead of being five years ahead.
- 3:26Speaker 1: We might need to evolve at the most important position.
- 3:29Speaker 1: Do you see that being something that he is possibly
- 3:32Speaker 1: going through.
- 3:34Speaker 3: No, I mean, I can understand why that sentiment would
- 3:37Speaker 3: be around. I mean, he certainly fired Doug Peterson just
- 3:41Speaker 3: a few years removed from winning the franchises for a
- 3:43Speaker 3: Super Bowl, and we know that they're when expectations aren't met.
- 3:48Speaker 3: The Eagles and a track record of firing coaches, mostly
- 3:52Speaker 3: assistant coaches, even in seasons where they win ten, eleven,
- 3:56Speaker 3: twelve games or go into the playoffs. So I understand
- 4:00Speaker 3: that sentiment, but I don't think it's Sirianni all of
- 4:02Speaker 3: a sudden is throwing away all the good things, and
- 4:06Speaker 3: it Surianni does as a head coach, and then we
- 4:09Speaker 3: started hitting the reset button. I would imagine that the
- 4:13Speaker 3: discussions are about fixing what the issue is and finding
- 4:16Speaker 3: the right people.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Well do that, and that's Why I say that because
- 4:19Speaker 1: Lourie could say, Hey, this is five years we keep
- 4:21Speaker 1: asking what's wrong with this offense? You know, it's okay,
- 4:24Speaker 1: we keep finding ways to win, that's cool, but we
- 4:27Speaker 1: really evolving this offense where we're going to have in
- 4:29Speaker 1: this discussion again next year. And I guess what the
- 4:31Speaker 1: next part of this is Kevin Batullo, who most likely
- 4:35Speaker 1: will not be here, but just the next guy have
- 4:37Speaker 1: to run Knicks offense. Does Nick say, well, if you
- 4:39Speaker 1: fire him, I you know that's not happening. Like there's
- 4:43Speaker 1: a whole heck of a lot that can happen.
- 4:45Speaker 2: You're like, let's.
- 4:46Speaker 1: Say yea, Allie Roseman says, hey, Mike mcdanne, do you
- 4:48Speaker 1: want to come here? And he says yeah, but I'm
- 4:49Speaker 1: not running Nicks offense. Like if that starts to be
- 4:52Speaker 1: a problem, does Laurie say, if that becomes a problem,
- 4:54Speaker 1: I gotta do something here.
- 4:56Speaker 3: Right, There's been no indication to me or anything that
- 5:00Speaker 3: I've seen or heard that the Eagles are going to
- 5:03Speaker 3: radically change their oftimes. If anything. You know, they've made
- 5:07Speaker 3: some advancements last year, right and now this past year
- 5:12Speaker 3: just in the passing game that we saw kind of intermittently.
- 5:15Speaker 3: And you know, I was at the locker room today
- 5:18Speaker 3: and Joe Hurts was talking about home base and the
- 5:20Speaker 3: comfort zone and sort of making sure that they they
- 5:24Speaker 3: stay in that comfort zone. So nothing I've heard at
- 5:27Speaker 3: all this year makes me think that they're going to
- 5:29Speaker 3: change the philosophy. Even talk to Sapon about this, a
- 5:32Speaker 3: little bit of run the ball, mix eleven and twelve personnel,
- 5:39Speaker 3: balance your offense, don't turn the ball over and that
- 5:43Speaker 3: typically will when you way more games than you lose,
- 5:48Speaker 3: and they want to get back to that level. So
- 5:50Speaker 3: you make a good point. And I think now there's
- 5:52Speaker 3: a larger sample size of this because we've seen two
- 5:57Speaker 3: people too low. We've seen Kellen Moore, right, or even
- 6:00Speaker 3: Brian Johnson to a degree, kind of become this offensive coordinator,
- 6:04Speaker 3: take the job, but basically run in the same offense
- 6:08Speaker 3: that has been in place. Nick Sirianni got in here.
- 6:11Speaker 3: The book's out now, so you brought up in a great,
- 6:14Speaker 3: great pay Mike McDaniel. Someone like that is going to
- 6:17Speaker 3: have to come here and willingly accept doing offense the
- 6:22Speaker 3: way the Eagles do offense as opposed to maybe how
- 6:25Speaker 3: they do offense, and that doesn't necessarily make it impossible.
- 6:30Speaker 3: I mean, if you're a good offensive coordinator and you're
- 6:33Speaker 3: down to elasti sport like Kelling Moore, right, he'll tell it.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Well, that's where I wondered if Laurie says I've had
- 6:40Speaker 1: enough of your offense.
- 6:41Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 6:42Speaker 1: Like, that's where like I'm wondering if he looks at
- 6:45Speaker 1: it and says, look, the league's evolving, things are moving fast,
- 6:47Speaker 1: and we're still stuck in the same offense we were
- 6:50Speaker 1: running for five years. We've got to do something about that.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And then as Nick say, well, no, I don't want
- 6:55Speaker 1: to do that, and there's the rubber meet the road
- 6:57Speaker 1: in Peterson's style.
- 6:58Speaker 3: There, I think you're maybe projecting how Lurie might feel
- 7:02Speaker 3: about this offense over a longer course of time, when
- 7:06Speaker 3: I don't know that Jeffrey had ill feelings about last
- 7:10Speaker 3: year's offense, because even though it wasn't a passing offense
- 7:13Speaker 3: and it struggled the times, it certainly rendered a lot
- 7:16Speaker 3: of explosive plays. And if you ask Jeffrey Lowery for
- 7:20Speaker 3: people in that front office, especially, what do they value.
- 7:24Speaker 3: It's explosive plays. Who cares about the pass or a run?
- 7:26Speaker 3: If you're getting twenty thirty forty to fifty yard plays,
- 7:30Speaker 3: you're moving the ball, you're scoring, and you're making it
- 7:32Speaker 3: difficult on your opponent. And they certainly had a lot
- 7:35Speaker 3: of those two years ago with Saint Toom Barclays. So
- 7:39Speaker 3: I think if you were to tell Jeffery Laurie that
- 7:42Speaker 3: you're going to get back in twenty twenty six, he's
- 7:45Speaker 3: gonna be okay with that.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Jeff Bosher from the Inside the Birds podcast Adam Schefter
- 7:50Speaker 1: said this morning on Get Up quote, when you speak
- 7:53Speaker 1: to people around the league, they expect there to be
- 7:55Speaker 1: mass changes there to jump start the offense. So you're
- 7:59Speaker 1: going looking at a new coordinator next year. That's the
- 8:02Speaker 1: expectation across the league. I would imagine this is a
- 8:06Speaker 1: pretty attractive job. We were talking about this earlier. You
- 8:09Speaker 1: got aj Brown and DeVante Smith, where you got DeMarcus
- 8:13Speaker 1: Robinson and Juwan Jennings, you probably would take the Eagles crew.
- 8:17Speaker 1: So I guess the question is why had they had
- 8:20Speaker 1: such problems jump starting their offense with those two players?
- 8:27Speaker 1: And then you see DeMarcus Robinson and Juwan Jennings, probably
- 8:30Speaker 1: lesser talents, but being more productive.
- 8:37Speaker 3: Man objection you're on our leading the witness, but it's
- 8:43Speaker 3: like you're trying to get me to say something about
- 8:45Speaker 3: the quarterback where the head coach is here. I mean,
- 8:48Speaker 3: clearly they don't run Kyle Shanahan's offense, right, That's why
- 8:51Speaker 3: it looks a lot different, and it hasn't been. That's
- 8:54Speaker 3: why they can't throw a fullback out there like Cam
- 8:57Speaker 3: Lauson and get four catches in forty nine yards whatever
- 9:00Speaker 3: you should have got there. They're just different coordinator. And
- 9:04Speaker 3: here's the issue. And I'm Mike, I'm gonna, I'm going
- 9:07Speaker 3: to I pushed back on you for the whole year
- 9:11Speaker 3: about something, but I had some clarity over it over
- 9:14Speaker 3: the last two or three weeks. All right, Yeah, And
- 9:16Speaker 3: you said all along, you can't hire a coordinator without
- 9:19Speaker 3: play calling experience for this team because it's built to
- 9:23Speaker 3: win and it needs to guy to win now. And
- 9:24Speaker 3: I said, well, you're not. I've always said I think
- 9:26Speaker 3: that's n fair. You're never going to give a guy
- 9:28Speaker 3: a chance to grow, and that you can't always get
- 9:31Speaker 3: a proven playfaller. But the more I've thought about it,
- 9:35Speaker 3: the more I think the Eagles are a unique situation
- 9:38Speaker 3: in which their offensive head coach is not an offensive
- 9:41Speaker 3: play caller. He wasn't in Indianapolis, and he hasn't been
- 9:45Speaker 3: here outside of the first few games of his first year,
- 9:47Speaker 3: and then he immediately said he wasn't good at it
- 9:49Speaker 3: and gave it to shame stiching. So most oftive head
- 9:52Speaker 3: coaches who have a young coordinator right who may not
- 9:56Speaker 3: have call players, can at least nurture that guy. Maybe
- 9:59Speaker 3: they call him plays for year before handing it over,
- 10:01Speaker 3: or if that guy's inn run, they assume the play
- 10:04Speaker 3: following from for a little bit. But Dick Sirianni is
- 10:07Speaker 3: incapable of doing that. I mean, he's just not so
- 10:11Speaker 3: now that I've seen this and had some clarity on it,
- 10:14Speaker 3: I have to agree with you. I don't think he
- 10:16Speaker 3: can afford to higher any body other than a veteran
- 10:21Speaker 3: playfaller with proven play following experience. But that puts a
- 10:24Speaker 3: whole lot of pressure on him in the front office
- 10:25Speaker 3: because he's just not sure every year that guy's going
- 10:30Speaker 3: to be around, and then that guy's gonna want to
- 10:32Speaker 3: come in and run your offense well.
- 10:33Speaker 1: And then the problem most that they run into is
- 10:36Speaker 1: you bring in a young, innovative play caller like a
- 10:39Speaker 1: Mike McDaniel or you know whoever. Like, let's say they're
- 10:42Speaker 1: looking they don't get one a job.
- 10:44Speaker 2: In the cycle.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Well they end up happening is you're right back to
- 10:47Speaker 1: square one and you're changing the offense again with another
- 10:49Speaker 1: play caller. So you've got to try to find someone
- 10:52Speaker 1: who's not got one foot out the door.
- 10:54Speaker 2: And that's a hard way to do it.
- 10:55Speaker 1: And that's why I wonder if the Eagles are looking
- 10:58Speaker 1: at this and saying, what's the endgame here? Have to
- 11:00Speaker 1: keep hinding a new Cortator every other year? Like that's
- 11:03Speaker 1: not fair to Hurt either.
- 11:05Speaker 3: It's not. Although if you're theoretically running the same offense,
- 11:09Speaker 3: which they have, honestly, it shouldn't be all that difficult.
- 11:13Speaker 3: It just becomes the maybea a beage thing.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Uh.
- 11:16Speaker 3: You know, I remember when dealing Hurt said, was it
- 11:18Speaker 3: when they are killing Moore that like seventy five percent
- 11:22Speaker 3: of the offense was new and that made some headlines
- 11:25Speaker 3: and it was right, that's what Telebo tried to run.
- 11:29Speaker 3: And then you know, like five weeks into the season,
- 11:31Speaker 3: they're back running you know, the Eagles offense. So that
- 11:35Speaker 3: stuff will work itself out over the time. I mean,
- 11:39Speaker 3: if you're winning super Bowls and winning you know, once
- 11:42Speaker 3: every two or three years, you're making deep playoff runs
- 11:45Speaker 3: and winning your division a lot like you'll deal with
- 11:47Speaker 3: some of these unique roadblocks of course that you face
- 11:50Speaker 3: because it beats the alternative of trying to find new
- 11:53Speaker 3: head coaches and may have better schemes and better playholders,
- 11:56Speaker 3: but and they duplicate the success mixture. Reality is that
- 11:59Speaker 3: that that to become his own last game?
- 12:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's funny because you know, Siria, I was a
- 12:03Speaker 1: play card. They were two and five. I was looking
- 12:05Speaker 1: at it the other day. So the eighth game of
- 12:07Speaker 1: that season, he gave up the play calling. They scored
- 12:10Speaker 1: forty points in a game against the Lions, and then
- 12:13Speaker 1: they took off the win. Their offensive line has really
- 12:16Speaker 1: been the springboard to the success they've had. Now, the
- 12:19Speaker 1: offensive line struggled this year, wasn't the same, But how
- 12:22Speaker 1: much of the offense Because when Nick was the play caller, Jeff,
- 12:26Speaker 1: he was throwing the ball all over the yard. They
- 12:28Speaker 1: were throwing about like thirty five forty times a game.
- 12:31Speaker 1: So now he scales it back to what it's now become.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Is that because he truly trust the run game and
- 12:37Speaker 1: he wants to be that or does he not trust
- 12:40Speaker 1: this quarterback?
- 12:41Speaker 3: Well, I mean I head coaches always going to cater
- 12:44Speaker 3: to his strengths and try to limit to the weaknesses
- 12:47Speaker 3: of his team. Right, he learned early you don't want
- 12:50Speaker 3: to throw the ball forty times, especially at that point
- 12:53Speaker 3: in Jillen Hurts's career. But I'm thinking discovered a long
- 12:56Speaker 3: way that they don't want Jillen Hurts to drop back
- 12:59Speaker 3: forty times the game. Some coaches are fine with their
- 13:02Speaker 3: quarterback during that. Matthew Stafford doesn't nobody pass the islands, right,
- 13:05Speaker 3: They don't want that. They have a good offensive line.
- 13:08Speaker 3: They built the team around the running backs, you know,
- 13:11Speaker 3: obviously bringing in say Plump, one of the best. The
- 13:14Speaker 3: most part, they've had some tight ends. I got it's
- 13:16Speaker 3: been a pretty good blots and tight end. It's falling
- 13:19Speaker 3: off wet bit for him end Calcaterras, and that's an
- 13:22Speaker 3: area they're likely to address. But that's the reason is
- 13:26Speaker 3: that they believe this is the best style and scheme
- 13:31Speaker 3: of offense to run for the personnel that they have.
- 13:35Speaker 3: And one loss in a wildcard game stinks, But they're
- 13:40Speaker 3: gonna look at the bigger picture and see what they've
- 13:43Speaker 3: accomplished over five years, and they're only going to double
- 13:46Speaker 3: down and be reinforced that they just have to fix
- 13:49Speaker 3: the areas that this year.
- 13:50Speaker 2: I would ask you this.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Then one loss in a wildcard game is fair to say.
- 13:56Speaker 1: But this was an eighteen week slog of offense.
- 14:00Speaker 2: Sure, yes or no?
- 14:02Speaker 3: Yeah, That's why I said they're going to fix. Look,
- 14:04Speaker 3: I mean, I think I had this conversation with Jordani
- 14:07Speaker 3: Lanta other day before like all the reporters came around.
- 14:09Speaker 3: We were just kind of talking about the physical toll
- 14:12Speaker 3: of last year of running the ball so much, all
- 14:14Speaker 3: the twitch pushes. Did that have any correlation to the
- 14:18Speaker 3: just the physicality or the mistakes made on the offensive line.
- 14:23Speaker 3: And he couldn't say yes or no. You know, he said,
- 14:25Speaker 3: it's some interesting thought, and you know, and I said, look,
- 14:29Speaker 3: if you guys were at peak helf next year. And
- 14:32Speaker 3: when I said peak help, you know, I even said
- 14:33Speaker 3: this to him. I said, under peak health, meaning yes,
- 14:36Speaker 3: get the pumps and bruises that everybody gets by week eighteen,
- 14:39Speaker 3: but in general, you're feeling like you normally feel, are
- 14:42Speaker 3: you guys just back to being the offensive were last year,
- 14:46Speaker 3: and he said, I hope, but I don't know, you know,
- 14:50Speaker 3: like it was a combination of things. It was. He
- 14:52Speaker 3: didn't mention defension, did thing differently against them this year, slanting, stunting,
- 14:58Speaker 3: all getting hitting linebackers going downhill against the rug So
- 15:03Speaker 3: there were two things working against them, the helping the
- 15:05Speaker 3: line and the fact that they were the hunted every
- 15:08Speaker 3: single week from winning the Super Bowl. So it's hard
- 15:11Speaker 3: to sit here and say they're going to make this
- 15:14Speaker 3: whole sale philosophical change on offense when they probably just
- 15:18Speaker 3: feel more health and allude bit more. Now they get
- 15:21Speaker 3: to make the CounterPunch. Now, if they've seen how people
- 15:23Speaker 3: are have CounterPunch to them, it's probably what their response is.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Going to be. Jalen Hurts today did not give a
- 15:30Speaker 1: ringing endorsement. What did you think of the question that
- 15:32Speaker 1: was asked about Patula coming back and how he answered it?
- 15:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I honestly know, I feel like there's some disingenuousness
- 15:41Speaker 3: coming from jail. And like Saint Quon Barkley takes accountability.
- 15:45Speaker 3: You know, he actually will pinpoint isolate arias that he
- 15:49Speaker 3: thinks he did fail the team and not Sometimes people say, yeah,
- 15:52Speaker 3: it's on me, but they don't they don't mean it,
- 15:54Speaker 3: or they're just trying to be like a good team. Say,
- 15:57Speaker 3: Quan kind of detailed some areas of engay that he
- 16:00Speaker 3: felt he didn't do a great job off this year,
- 16:03Speaker 3: took accountability and then said it was really unfair that
- 16:06Speaker 3: Petullo had to take all the blame. And I just said, all along,
- 16:10Speaker 3: he is the only evil sponhouse coordinator under this Sirianni
- 16:14Speaker 3: to not have a running game, and that's got matter
- 16:17Speaker 3: for something. I know he's gonna probably gonna get fired,
- 16:20Speaker 3: and I know he didn't do a good job, but
- 16:21Speaker 3: it has to matter for something. But you know, first
- 16:24Speaker 3: it's like, yeah, I take accountability, Well what about Ken
- 16:26Speaker 3: Petula's job security? Interesting how we to figure it out?
- 16:30Speaker 3: But I don't know there was some disingenuousness enemy, because
- 16:33Speaker 3: if he's really taking accountability, he's gonna say where he's
- 16:37Speaker 3: been deficient and what he needs to get better at,
- 16:39Speaker 3: and then he's gonna do it. And honestly, he's made
- 16:42Speaker 3: I didn't think he made strives as the Passion this year, certainly,
- 16:45Speaker 3: but I don't feel like in his mind he's coming on.
- 16:48Speaker 3: He feels like he's any part of the problem at all,
- 16:53Speaker 3: and I'm not quite sure that that's a fair assessment
- 16:55Speaker 3: on his part.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I would agree that's a fair comment.
- 16:58Speaker 1: Jeff Mosher inside the Birds podcast, because hey, listen, you
- 17:02Speaker 1: can make a strong argument that AJ that Jalen made
- 17:05Speaker 1: a couple of throws they did not catch the ball.
- 17:08Speaker 1: That game might have been different. Had Davonte made that
- 17:10Speaker 1: catch or AJ made that catch, we might be having
- 17:12Speaker 1: a conversation about another ugly win today had those balls
- 17:16Speaker 1: been caught.
- 17:16Speaker 2: That he made some pretty good throws.
- 17:18Speaker 3: On Yeah, yeah, I thought, you know, I didn't come
- 17:22Speaker 3: out of yesterday's game thinking, man, Jalen really blewish for them.
- 17:26Speaker 3: It really didn't, you know, And I generally think he's
- 17:29Speaker 3: made more high level throws this year and the other year,
- 17:33Speaker 3: which is why I feel like, you know, there's really
- 17:36Speaker 3: no no need to respond to the questions the what
- 17:38Speaker 3: he does. You can just say he's being honest. But
- 17:41Speaker 3: you know, I think Saint Paul Parkley was being honest.
- 17:43Speaker 3: So I just felt like even if guy under the bus,
- 17:48Speaker 3: when you know, you have to know that it wasn't
- 17:50Speaker 3: Paul on one guy that's.
- 17:52Speaker 2: Really to me key was AJ there today.
- 17:56Speaker 3: Now he'll be shocked to learn he was not. That
- 18:00Speaker 3: was not in the thought.
- 18:01Speaker 2: I figured he had an empty at his locker at some.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Point, at some point. Does not to me today.
- 18:09Speaker 1: So do you have any feel one way or the
- 18:13Speaker 1: other whether there would be any legitimatey legitimacy that AJ
- 18:17Speaker 1: Brown would not be back?
- 18:21Speaker 3: Oh, I think it's it's certainly a legitimate question, absolutely,
- 18:24Speaker 3: you know the one Interestingly, Jalen said he smoked to
- 18:27Speaker 3: AJ and they're in a great space. Okay, Uh, Jalen
- 18:32Speaker 3: may have some tropical land in Montana. He's trying to
- 18:34Speaker 3: sell us as well. So we'll say, I don't know.
- 18:37Speaker 3: I mean, if if A. J. Brown is in a
- 18:39Speaker 3: great space, then I would actually like to see what
- 18:41Speaker 3: it looks like when someone's really in a great space,
- 18:44Speaker 3: because he doesn't look like he's someone in a great space.
- 18:46Speaker 3: His body language is doing the talking and and uh,
- 18:49Speaker 3: you know, listen, we can't get this is it's only
- 18:52Speaker 3: speculation where it's for me, a coach, you or or
- 18:56Speaker 3: a listener. Right, but like sure to me, like how
- 19:00Speaker 3: he feels about the offense and about the environment in
- 19:02Speaker 3: general reflected in his game. He had some nice games,
- 19:06Speaker 3: but he also dropped some passes he ordinarily normally catches,
- 19:09Speaker 3: and there are just way too many instances of him
- 19:11Speaker 3: just not going after a ball that you think he
- 19:14Speaker 3: would go after. So I think this thing is not
- 19:17Speaker 3: going to It's not going to fish stagnant. There's either
- 19:20Speaker 3: going to be a real long meeting of the mind's
- 19:23Speaker 3: discussion and he's going to be involved with it. He's
- 19:26Speaker 3: gonna have to make some own some personality and attue changes,
- 19:29Speaker 3: or we might be looking at the Eagles figuring out
- 19:33Speaker 3: a way to get him traded off the books and
- 19:35Speaker 3: you know, see what happens there.
- 19:37Speaker 1: All right, Just a prediction. This isn't any reporting or
- 19:39Speaker 1: anything a lot of changes offseason or running it backstyle.
- 19:51Speaker 3: I mean, there's going to be a decent amount of change, sure,
- 19:54Speaker 3: I mean I think that there's going to be again
- 19:56Speaker 3: like that you said, opinion, not reporting. I don't think
- 20:00Speaker 3: offensive coordinator is per Sae the only position on offense
- 20:05Speaker 3: position coach that might see changed. There might be more
- 20:08Speaker 3: than that. You know, we'll have to see if somebody retires,
- 20:14Speaker 3: you know, And I have no indication that just Stoutlin
- 20:17Speaker 3: or Vic Fangio are about to give it up. But
- 20:18Speaker 3: they're not the they're not Spring chickens, right, so there
- 20:21Speaker 3: could be something there. We obviously know the futures of
- 20:24Speaker 3: Red blankenship of Nikobe Dean. During Jackson, there were three
- 20:30Speaker 3: starters right are up in the air. Jalen Phillips Joe
- 20:35Speaker 3: Philms did not, I think have a real huge impact
- 20:38Speaker 3: over the last few games. You know, after a nice
- 20:41Speaker 3: start unus, he's gonna probably command a lot of money.
- 20:43Speaker 3: And I don't know how you feel about it, but
- 20:45Speaker 3: I thought Jill Hunt was their most impactful head guy
- 20:47Speaker 3: over there.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Yeah, I definitely thought that Phillips.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I thought Phillips kind of fizzled a little bit, didn't
- 20:52Speaker 1: make a not like an impactful moment that that he
- 20:56Speaker 1: kind of had there.
- 20:57Speaker 2: You know what's.
- 20:57Speaker 3: Interesting, I thought they were gonna have Party in the
- 20:59Speaker 3: crowd like five times, Mike, I really did, you know?
- 21:03Speaker 3: I credit party. I thought he navigated some money pockets
- 21:06Speaker 3: pretty well, and he's a little better than me think,
- 21:09Speaker 3: but still I thought they were gonna get to him more.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I agree.
- 21:12Speaker 1: It's funny because, uh, I we do a parlay bet
- 21:15Speaker 1: where we have to do like a prop bet, and
- 21:17Speaker 1: I bet Jalen Carter to get a sack. Now, he
- 21:19Speaker 1: ended up getting the sack, but I did that because
- 21:21Speaker 1: I thought they'd have five sacks and that he would
- 21:24Speaker 1: just get like one and joined the party, not that
- 21:26Speaker 1: he would get the only sack. You know. I'll tell
- 21:28Speaker 1: you what motion what's interesting about this season, I'll get
- 21:31Speaker 1: you out of here on this is if you said,
- 21:33Speaker 1: at the end of the year, the Eagles lost, because man,
- 21:36Speaker 1: you look back and they just couldn't you know, all
- 21:39Speaker 1: the losses they had on defense, you know, losing Sweat
- 21:42Speaker 1: and Milton Williams and Darius Slay and their defense. Now,
- 21:46Speaker 1: their defense, I thought, you know, I'm not blaming them,
- 21:49Speaker 1: but you know they lost. They let San Francisco, an
- 21:52Speaker 1: under man San Francisco team go down the field and
- 21:54Speaker 1: score on you yesterday in the fourth quarter in your building.
- 21:58Speaker 1: So you got to look at that too. But if
- 22:00Speaker 1: you said their defense just lost too many guys, not
- 22:04Speaker 1: the offense, it brought back everybody was the problem. That's
- 22:07Speaker 1: what's so perplexed about the season.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Yeah, there's not one person who would have predicted this,
- 22:12Speaker 3: you know, unless they were just being a contrarian. There's
- 22:15Speaker 3: not one person who would have thought this offense was
- 22:17Speaker 3: going to be the thing that held the defense, that
- 22:19Speaker 3: held the team back, and that the defense by the
- 22:21Speaker 3: end of the year would be looking like the year before.
- 22:25Speaker 3: But you're right, we can't. Even though the offense lost
- 22:29Speaker 3: the season and the game. I will have a real
- 22:33Speaker 3: struggle for the next week or two figuring out how
- 22:35Speaker 3: this defense allowed to Marcus Robinson. What is he thirty
- 22:38Speaker 3: six years old to get one hundred and.
- 22:42Speaker 2: The number of the day.
- 22:43Speaker 1: The stat of the day is that DeMarcus Robinson had
- 22:45Speaker 1: more yards in the first quarter than he had in
- 22:46Speaker 1: any game all season.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I know, you shaid the fullback, you said, you chick,
- 22:52Speaker 3: I always pronounced the wrong. He had more catches in
- 22:55Speaker 3: that game than he had in any game this year. Also,
- 22:58Speaker 3: I mean a fullback get any loose twenty seven yards?
- 23:01Speaker 3: I think that was as long as catching the season.
- 23:03Speaker 1: So I mean, come on, they accentuate the positives, man,
- 23:08Speaker 1: and when they lost Kittle, they had a fine other ways.
- 23:10Speaker 1: And let's they just do a really good job of
- 23:13Speaker 1: saying we're under manned. Let's accentuate who we have left,
- 23:17Speaker 1: and the Eagles don't. But the Eagles don't do a
- 23:21Speaker 1: very good job at saying this is who we have
- 23:23Speaker 1: let's accentuate them. Jeff Boscher in the inside of the
- 23:25Speaker 1: Birds crew and Eagles season is in the books, but
- 23:28Speaker 1: now we have so much more for football at four.
- 23:31Speaker 1: Putting this team back together again, Humpty dumpty. And we'll
- 23:34Speaker 1: do that here right here on the Sports Bash ninety
- 23:37Speaker 1: seven to three ESPN. All right, Boch, I can't wait
- 23:40Speaker 1: to see what happens by Wednesday.
- 23:42Speaker 3: That bros. It would be fun.
