- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to today's edition of Reflection on the Word with
- 0:50Speaker 1: Richard K. I'm Chuck Christie, and today we are asking
- 0:54Speaker 1: you to spend a few moments of your time with
- 0:56Speaker 1: us each day as Richard shares from God's work with notes, quotes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and stores, along with some of his own personal experiences,
- 1:02Speaker 1: to confirm for you God's great love for us, that
- 1:05Speaker 1: his compassion for us never fails, and that He has
- 1:08Speaker 1: a great faithfulness toward us in every regard. In Lamentations
- 1:12Speaker 1: Chapter three, verses twenty two and twenty three, we read,
- 1:16Speaker 1: because of the Lord's great love, we are not consumed,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for his compassions never failed. They are new every morning.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Great is your faithfulness. Now, if you miss a portion
- 1:27Speaker 1: of today's broadcast or would like to recommend it to
- 1:29Speaker 1: a friend, you can hear this program anytime online at
- 1:33Speaker 1: Talknetwork Radio dot com. Well, now here's Richard with today's reflection.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Put on the whole armor of God, that you will
- 1:43Speaker 2: be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
- 1:46Speaker 2: Ephesians six eleven. Yesterday we asked the question are we
- 1:53Speaker 2: victims are victors? We have sometimes been taught to believe
- 2:01Speaker 2: that Christians are supposed to be those that just simply
- 2:06Speaker 2: bear the circumstances until Jesus returns. And this may be
- 2:13Speaker 2: a means of being able to help people live through
- 2:17Speaker 2: certain circumstances, but it doesn't necessarily mean that that is
- 2:24Speaker 2: what God has designed for us. And so today we
- 2:29Speaker 2: are going to talk about the armor of God. Why
- 2:34Speaker 2: do we need to be armed? If we're victims, then
- 2:41Speaker 2: there's no need for any of God's armor. Yet we
- 2:47Speaker 2: are encouraged by the Apostle Paul in the writings to
- 2:51Speaker 2: the Church at Ephesus and to us to put on
- 2:55Speaker 2: the whole armor of God. Why. Well, this is the
- 3:01Speaker 2: most important question for every believer in Jesus Christ. We
- 3:06Speaker 2: must answer it, and by that answer we have to
- 3:09Speaker 2: produce the evidence of what being holy or fully armed
- 3:15Speaker 2: means in a victorious Christian life. So let's begin with
- 3:21Speaker 2: why we need to be wholly armed today? It is
- 3:26Speaker 2: really more evident in our world that we are in
- 3:30Speaker 2: a battle, and I'm not speaking of just physically, but spiritually.
- 3:36Speaker 2: The Bible explains that our battle is not with flesh
- 3:39Speaker 2: and blood, but with powers, principalities, rulers of the darkness
- 3:45Speaker 2: of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places Ephesians
- 3:51Speaker 2: six twelve. Many believers go about their daily task completely
- 3:57Speaker 2: ignorant of this ongoing warfare. Now we can understand the
- 4:02Speaker 2: need for special supernatural armor and weapons in order to
- 4:09Speaker 2: be victors in this spiritual battle. What is the supernatural armor?
- 4:17Speaker 2: And many with military background are familiar with an inspection
- 4:23Speaker 2: when all of the issued uniforms, field gear and weapons
- 4:27Speaker 2: are displayed to check for readiness. In a like manner,
- 4:32Speaker 2: we Christians have been given an inspection order. We've been
- 4:39Speaker 2: ordered to put on the whole armor of God. We
- 4:42Speaker 2: know that there has to be reality in this armor,
- 4:49Speaker 2: or it wouldn't have been given as a command. So
- 4:53Speaker 2: let's look at the inspection. Let's not only display our
- 4:57Speaker 2: weapons in armor, but demonstrate them in battle. So let's
- 5:02Speaker 2: look at each important part of God's perfect armor. The
- 5:07Speaker 2: first thing listed is the helmet of salvation. Why do
- 5:13Speaker 2: we need this protection? It's to keep us from unholy
- 5:19Speaker 2: thoughts and desires. That label inside will read these things
- 5:26Speaker 2: have I written unto you that believe on the name
- 5:30Speaker 2: of the Son of God, that you may know that
- 5:33Speaker 2: you have eternal light. The second thing is the girdle,
- 5:40Speaker 2: or if you will, the belt of truth. And that
- 5:45Speaker 2: is surrounding ourselves with honesty towards God and man. Jesus
- 5:51Speaker 2: is the Way, the Truth, and the Light John fourteen six.
- 5:58Speaker 2: Third item of the armor is the breastplate of righteousness
- 6:03Speaker 2: to cover our heart with the right relationship with God.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Now this is not our own righteousness, but it's Jesus
- 6:13Speaker 2: who has made us to be the righteousness of God
- 6:18Speaker 2: in him. Reading Second Corinthians five point twenty one. The
- 6:24Speaker 2: fourth item is gospel shoes of peace. Our feet are
- 6:30Speaker 2: prepared to advance the good news of the victory of
- 6:35Speaker 2: Jesus Christ over the devil. This bears repeating feet that
- 6:41Speaker 2: are prepared to advance the good news of the victory
- 6:45Speaker 2: of Jesus Christ over the devil verse John three and
- 6:51Speaker 2: verse eight. Shield of faith to put out the fiery darts.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Faith causes us to walk in victory even when the
- 7:02Speaker 2: battle appears to be going the other way. And the
- 7:07Speaker 2: sword of the Spirit the most effective weapon we could
- 7:11Speaker 2: ever employ, the Word of God. It has two equally
- 7:17Speaker 2: sharp edges, penetrating deep into the very center of the enemy,
- 7:22Speaker 2: causing devastating results. We are not hearers of the word,
- 7:29Speaker 2: but doers of the word. The seventh and the completion
- 7:35Speaker 2: element of all of the armor in readiness is prayer
- 7:41Speaker 2: in the spirit. This is God's code book of orders,
- 7:47Speaker 2: and it's the most vital, completing part of being holy armed.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Praying in the Spirit is our ability to communicate directly
- 7:58Speaker 2: with God. It is the code transmission that can't be
- 8:02Speaker 2: intercepted or jammed by the enemy. It is because this
- 8:08Speaker 2: seventh complete part of our armor is so vital that
- 8:13Speaker 2: the enemy has done everything to confuse and perpetuate disagreement
- 8:19Speaker 2: since the day of Pentecops.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Richard will be right back in a moment to wrap up.
- 8:25Speaker 1: But if you've just joined us, you've been listening to
- 8:27Speaker 1: Reflections on the Word with Richard K. You can hear
- 8:30Speaker 1: this message in its entirety again online as well as

- 9:03Speaker 1: printed by Discovery House Publishers. Again here is Richard to
- 9:07Speaker 1: wrap up today's message.
- 9:11Speaker 2: Since God provides the whole armor and we need the
- 9:15Speaker 2: whole armor, then Satan will do everything possible to keep
- 9:20Speaker 2: us from being wholly armed. We discussed earlier the description
- 9:26Speaker 2: and the identity of the enemy forces, the powers, the principalities,
- 9:32Speaker 2: the rulers of the darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places,
- 9:37Speaker 2: and the scripture warns us to be aware of wolves
- 9:43Speaker 2: that are in Lamb's clothing. Have we been misdirected, influenced,
- 9:49Speaker 2: or taught to believe a lie? Who has the enemy
- 9:54Speaker 2: used to accomplish this assignment? Anyone who blasphemes the Holy Spirit,
- 10:00Speaker 2: it can't be forgiven in dislight or in the year
- 10:05Speaker 2: after Matthew ten thirty two. Are we holy arm put
- 10:13Speaker 2: on the whole armor of God that you will be
- 10:18Speaker 2: able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians
- 10:24Speaker 2: six eleven. And that is today's reflection on the work.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Thank you, Richard. Join us again tomorrow when we continue
- 10:35Speaker 1: with the next edition of Reflections on the Work with
- 10:38Speaker 1: Richard K. For Richard, the entire team. This is Chuck
- 10:41Speaker 1: Christie saying thanks for listening to this edition reflections on.
