- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, Uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody
- 0:06Speaker 1: you are listening to the voice, Come on, dig me now,
- 0:09Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey. HA got a radio show,
- 0:13Speaker 1: you know. Today, I was thinking of what I would
- 0:16Speaker 1: say today and it just dawned on me this way,
- 0:19Speaker 1: and I just want to share this with everybody listening.
- 0:22Speaker 1: You've got to get some help to make it through life.
- 0:26Speaker 1: I cannot imagine where I would be if it was
- 0:29Speaker 1: not for the help of my God, if it wasn't
- 0:33Speaker 1: for his grace and mercy, if I did not have
- 0:36Speaker 1: the ability to lean on him, and all the times
- 0:40Speaker 1: I've had to lean on Him, which has become a
- 0:42Speaker 1: daily basis. I have no idea where I would be,
- 0:46Speaker 1: but clearly I know for a matter of fact, I
- 0:49Speaker 1: would not be here today. You have got to get
- 0:52Speaker 1: some help to get through this thing called life. I
- 0:55Speaker 1: am begging you to look into it. Man, you've got
- 0:58Speaker 1: to form a relationship with God. Without a relationship with God,
- 1:03Speaker 1: this thing called life is daunting at times. I don't
- 1:06Speaker 1: care who you are. I know I'm speaking the truth
- 1:08Speaker 1: right now, because listen, no matter who you are, what
- 1:13Speaker 1: job title you have, what aspirations you may have, I
- 1:17Speaker 1: don't care what your educational background is or is not.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It does not matter if you don't get a real
- 1:24Speaker 1: relationship going on with God. I don't see how you
- 1:26Speaker 1: can make it. So many people are faking in fronting
- 1:29Speaker 1: out here like they got it going on, and you
- 1:32Speaker 1: don't know, and you really don't know how many people
- 1:35Speaker 1: that you think in your neighborhood had it going on
- 1:38Speaker 1: because you saw a car pull up in the driveway,
- 1:40Speaker 1: or they house look bigger, or the grass is cutting nicer,
- 1:44Speaker 1: and you only find out that a foreclosure side on
- 1:47Speaker 1: they house too. See, you don't know. The mask that
- 1:50Speaker 1: people put on to parade around in is for appearance sakes.
- 1:55Speaker 1: So a lot of people you looking at that you
- 1:57Speaker 1: think got it going on, who might be the past
- 2:00Speaker 1: had enough success that you want a trace. You got
- 2:02Speaker 1: to be real careful with that because it may not
- 2:05Speaker 1: be as it appears to be. But one thing is
- 2:07Speaker 1: for sure, no matter what's going on in your life,
- 2:12Speaker 1: I know that behind whatever mask I'm wearing, or I realized,
- 2:17Speaker 1: no matter what the appearances may be, that on the
- 2:20Speaker 1: other side of me, I'm gonna be just fine. See,
- 2:24Speaker 1: you may be outwardly people hating on you, talking about
- 2:28Speaker 1: you dragging your name through the mud. Look, man, people
- 2:32Speaker 1: can say stuff about you. Most people talking about you
- 2:34Speaker 1: don't even know you. They just participating in it. You
- 2:38Speaker 1: can have that appearance going on, but behind you, within you,
- 2:42Speaker 1: if you have a relationship with God, it don't matter
- 2:46Speaker 1: because you can be all right. I've seen it get
- 2:49Speaker 1: real stormy on the outside for me, but on the inside,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I just had to feel and I was gonna be
- 2:54Speaker 1: all right. See. That's what the relationship gives you. Man.
- 2:58Speaker 1: It gives you the confidence to know that the things
- 3:01Speaker 1: that you're going through are temporary. That is just the
- 3:04Speaker 1: space that you happen to be in. Like I said
- 3:06Speaker 1: the other day, you got to remember something. The road
- 3:09Speaker 1: to success is always under construction. You might as well
- 3:13Speaker 1: get ready for that if you planning on changing, getting better,
- 3:18Speaker 1: doing something about your health. If you decide, hey, look
- 3:21Speaker 1: I just would like to live a longer, more prosperous life,
- 3:25Speaker 1: or hey I want to make X amount of dollars,
- 3:27Speaker 1: or hey man, I'm gonna stop staying out in these
- 3:29Speaker 1: streets and I'm gonna come home and treat my family
- 3:31Speaker 1: way they ought to be treated. I don't care what
- 3:33Speaker 1: decision you make when you strike out on that road
- 3:36Speaker 1: to success, it's under construction, partner, that's barrels out there,
- 3:41Speaker 1: there's wide turns, there's detours. You know, it's me and
- 3:45Speaker 1: out there holding signs saying slow down. Sometimes they put
- 3:49Speaker 1: the stop sign up. You got to wait and watch
- 3:51Speaker 1: people go by you on the other side. Then before
- 3:55Speaker 1: you can take off again. You've all been on the
- 3:57Speaker 1: road with construction on it and be so frustrating, and
- 4:01Speaker 1: the whole time you on that road. I know when
- 4:04Speaker 1: I'm on the road we can under construction. I'm always
- 4:06Speaker 1: thinking of an alternative path. I ain't ever set in
- 4:11Speaker 1: traffic under construction, man, and thought of if I get
- 4:15Speaker 1: off on this exit, where would it take me? Not knowing,
- 4:19Speaker 1: but just man, could I keep moving if I go
- 4:21Speaker 1: that way? That's a dangerous thing sometimes, see, because oftentimes
- 4:26Speaker 1: when we get off the road to success and we
- 4:28Speaker 1: take that other path, we get further and further off course.
- 4:32Speaker 1: Because wasn't no DETOURLS signed for that, Just a decision
- 4:35Speaker 1: I made on my own because I don't like sitting here.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Sometimes I don't have the patience I ought to have,
- 4:40Speaker 1: So I've taken some what I thought might be shortcuts.
- 4:43Speaker 1: But I got to tell you something, ain't no shortcuts
- 4:45Speaker 1: on the road to success. Even the detour signs wind
- 4:48Speaker 1: up taking you a little bit out your way. And
- 4:51Speaker 1: look background. I remember one time I was coming from
- 4:53Speaker 1: Las Vegas and that was some type of chemical spill
- 4:57Speaker 1: in the truck and you could almost see the smoke
- 5:04Speaker 1: up ahead in very faint. So they detoreed us through
- 5:07Speaker 1: the desert and we had to go all the way around,
- 5:10Speaker 1: and I drove, man like an hour and a half
- 5:13Speaker 1: out of the way. And when they entered us back
- 5:15Speaker 1: on the freeway where we were to go back to
- 5:18Speaker 1: La As soon as I got it that exit to
- 5:20Speaker 1: get back on the freeway, I looked right there and
- 5:23Speaker 1: there the accident was. Now it was an hour and
- 5:27Speaker 1: a half hour forty five all the way around in
- 5:30Speaker 1: that desert to get back to almost the same place.
- 5:35Speaker 1: But it was the best way to go, because see,
- 5:38Speaker 1: that was the route to take. And that's what you
- 5:40Speaker 1: got to understand about trying to make the right decision
- 5:43Speaker 1: to be successful, that the road to success is always
- 5:47Speaker 1: under construction. You're gonna have to go round a little bit,
- 5:50Speaker 1: so quick stop being impatient with I don't want to
- 5:53Speaker 1: go around. I'm gonna go this way, you go that
- 5:54Speaker 1: way if you want to just follow the detour science. See,
- 5:57Speaker 1: because somebody that came up this road before you have.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Somebody done travel the road already and they took the
- 6:04Speaker 1: way around, and yeah, it seemed like it's a longer way,
- 6:07Speaker 1: and you want to make that other decision. But stay
- 6:10Speaker 1: on the road to success. It's under construction, man, That's
- 6:13Speaker 1: just the way it goes. Don't lose your patience and
- 6:16Speaker 1: try to create a shortcut for yourself. I'm gonna go away.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Ain't nobody ever gone way? Hold up, Pardoner, you really
- 6:22Speaker 1: think you're gonna do that? Listen. There's oftentimes a lot
- 6:25Speaker 1: of rewards when you go the least travel path. But
- 6:29Speaker 1: the road to success is the least travel path. That's
- 6:32Speaker 1: what you keep getting mixed up. You keep thinking if
- 6:35Speaker 1: you go another way. No, no, stay on the road
- 6:37Speaker 1: to success. That is the least travel path. It's under construction.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You can go out there with your machete if you
- 6:44Speaker 1: want to talking about cutting new trails. You think the
- 6:48Speaker 1: road to success is under construction, take the other route
- 6:52Speaker 1: and get that machete out and see how long you
- 6:54Speaker 1: be out there trying to cut a path sometimes, man,
- 6:58Speaker 1: you just got to stay patient. The road to success
- 7:01Speaker 1: has been traveled before by millions of people in front
- 7:04Speaker 1: of you, everybody that has some setbacks in life. But
- 7:07Speaker 1: don't get off the road to success just because you
- 7:09Speaker 1: having some setbacks, just because you see some orange barrels up,
- 7:13Speaker 1: just because there's some men out there with vest on
- 7:15Speaker 1: what they got to do with you? Everybody, everybody that's
- 7:19Speaker 1: trying to be successful, is on that road. Your relationship
- 7:23Speaker 1: with God helps you guide yourself around the barrels. It
- 7:28Speaker 1: helps you have the patience to go around that way.
- 7:32Speaker 1: He gonna get you back where you gotta be, But
- 7:34Speaker 1: you got to go out there so you can learn
- 7:36Speaker 1: some things. See, you need God to make it in life,
- 7:40Speaker 1: because the road to success is always under construction. He
- 7:45Speaker 1: calms you down when the barrels is up. He lets
- 7:48Speaker 1: you know it's gonna be all right. He rewards you
- 7:51Speaker 1: with the patience to finish because He gonna get you
- 7:53Speaker 1: right back where you need to be and you can
- 7:56Speaker 1: get on which way you is going. Okay, all right, y'all,
- 7:58Speaker 1: we're gonna try that today. You're listening to the Steve
- 8:01Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show.
