Stolen Race Bike Disrupts Team's Season | Auckland News
A custom-built Honda CBR650R race bike, valued at $30K–$40K and destined for Team Rees Motorcycles, vanished from a Rotorua workshop before its debut at Hampton Downs. Stripped for racing with fibreglass fairings, Arrow exhaust, and no lights, the red machine could be repainted black — so keep your eyes peeled. The theft sidelines a key rider and shakes the team’s momentum; police urge anyone spotting the bike or its parts to come forward. This isn’t just about a stolen bike — it’s about saving a season.
