- 0:59Speaker 4: The Worlds of Vegetal podcast Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. Saying
- 1:10Speaker 4: they mistreated Mapu, I don't saying anything about mistreating I
- 1:13Speaker 4: think they made mistakes. For I think there was a
- 1:15Speaker 4: reason why he was not dressed, and I think it
- 1:18Speaker 4: might have helped him because I think he had his
- 1:20Speaker 4: best game.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Well, I think it hurt him.
- 1:22Speaker 4: You know, I've never coached in the NFL. You have,
- 1:25Speaker 4: so you know more than I do.
- 1:27Speaker 5: You can't make a comment and say I think he
- 1:29Speaker 5: benefited from not playing.
- 1:31Speaker 4: I can make that comment.
- 1:32Speaker 5: I think if he played every game, they'd have five
- 1:35Speaker 5: more wins.
- 1:35Speaker 4: You're not saying that, are you?
- 1:36Speaker 5: No, Okay, you'll have to job about. But I think
- 1:39Speaker 5: it's equally silly.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Why why am what I'm saying it's silly?
- 1:43Speaker 5: Don't because you don't. Because that's why I asked you
- 1:45Speaker 5: if you had anything to go on and.
- 1:47Speaker 4: Oh, we have nothing to go on with anything.
- 1:49Speaker 6: For your reason?
- 1:50Speaker 4: Is what Paul always does. I have an opinion, No,
- 1:53Speaker 4: he has an opinion. But Paul, why can't I have
- 1:56Speaker 4: my opinion? Who said you can't give it to your opinion?
- 1:58Speaker 5: I think you could have done what he did on
- 2:00Speaker 5: Sunday the previous five games had he played.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 2:03Speaker 5: As we're playing in fantasy land having no idea what happens.
- 2:06Speaker 5: We don't have to go through this. When the guys
- 2:08Speaker 5: come back, I'd just.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Like to get their opinion. Maybe they agree with you, Paul.
- 2:12Speaker 5: The difference is I don't want you know if they
- 2:14Speaker 5: do or not.
- 2:14Speaker 3: This is Patriots Unfiltered.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Presented by Toyota's official website for deals by a Toyota
- 2:20Speaker 2: dot com.
- 2:23Speaker 4: All right, welcome to Patriots on Film. Thirdday is Thursday,
- 2:27Speaker 4: I believe here at Jillette Stadium getting ready for a
- 2:30Speaker 4: Saturday game against the l A Chargers. I got all
- 2:34Speaker 4: that lot of confusion, Yeah, a lot of confusions. Thursday, Saturday,
- 2:39Speaker 4: l A instead of San Diego. That's that usually, would
- 2:42Speaker 4: you know, slip me up on the first take?
- 2:45Speaker 7: No Christmas hangover? Free friend?
- 2:46Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 2:47Speaker 4: So did everyone have a good day Yesterday day?
- 2:50Speaker 8: Yes?
- 2:51Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, good, great day.
- 2:53Speaker 9: Good both got pillows we're talking, we both got pops
- 2:58Speaker 9: pillows and pots.
- 2:59Speaker 4: Yep, okay, stop you get any three quarters and he but.
- 3:04Speaker 5: Do you believe I did not get a single everything
- 3:06Speaker 5: but three quarters?
- 3:07Speaker 9: And how do you feel about this one?
- 3:10Speaker 5: That's fine?
- 3:13Speaker 4: Fine?
- 3:14Speaker 5: Yeah, good, good time, good day, good day with a
- 3:17Speaker 5: lot of family.
- 3:18Speaker 4: Goody good.
- 3:19Speaker 7: How about you?
- 3:20Speaker 4: Great day with real steaks?
- 3:23Speaker 5: That was that was two day night I had.
- 3:26Speaker 4: You had steaks Tuesday night at Steaks Tuesday you know what?
- 3:28Speaker 8: I had?
- 3:29Speaker 7: Holiday roast?
- 3:29Speaker 4: Actually holiday roast.
- 3:31Speaker 9: I was wonderful, thank you, shout out to Nick and
- 3:33Speaker 9: Sarah was beautiful.
- 3:34Speaker 4: All right, what was the best gift received by anyone
- 3:38Speaker 4: in your house?
- 3:39Speaker 9: I'd say my twelve year old got Jordan's and he
- 3:42Speaker 9: was all fired up.
- 3:43Speaker 4: And then I like the old style.
- 3:44Speaker 7: No, I don't know.
- 3:45Speaker 9: I couldn't even begin to tell you, but there apparently
- 3:47Speaker 9: they're the ones that everybody wants. And then I was like, oh,
- 3:49Speaker 9: this is great because he needs new basketball shoes. He's
- 3:52Speaker 9: been playing in basketball shoes and so like these are
- 3:58Speaker 9: not basketball basketball You don't even are you allowed to
- 4:01Speaker 9: look at him? Like you just put them up.
- 4:03Speaker 4: That's for the dance. You go to the dance and
- 4:06Speaker 4: protector immediately.
- 4:07Speaker 7: They were already even know what creased protector was.
- 4:08Speaker 9: They were already in Yeah, so he was very excited.
- 4:11Speaker 4: How about you, Alex, you.
- 4:13Speaker 10: There are a lot of tears in my house on
- 4:15Speaker 10: Christmas present, No, like tears of joy, like happiness, sentimental.
- 4:22Speaker 11: The best one I think that took.
- 4:24Speaker 10: A lot of for is we got my stepdad. His
- 4:27Speaker 10: family owns a chassis company like Johnson Chassis. They build nascars.
- 4:33Speaker 10: His father since passed, but we were able to track
- 4:35Speaker 10: down like the really old logo of Johnson Chassis and
- 4:39Speaker 10: get it embroidered on like some really nice car hearts.
- 4:43Speaker 11: Yeah, there are tears.
- 4:44Speaker 4: That was a really thoughtful gift type of thing.
- 4:46Speaker 11: The logo is so hard to find too.
- 4:48Speaker 10: My little sister was like digging ten years back on
- 4:51Speaker 10: Facebook of like her uncle to find it to digitize it.
- 4:54Speaker 4: So I had a girlfriend I lost my college diploma
- 4:58Speaker 4: in a fire, and she like took the time to
- 5:01Speaker 4: go to the school and get a diploma.
- 5:04Speaker 11: That's nice.
- 5:05Speaker 4: That was nice.
- 5:06Speaker 5: Yeah, really that's a good gift. That's a good gift.
- 5:09Speaker 9: I got one more friend that might just you might appreciate,
- 5:12Speaker 9: you know. I drew my mom and our secret, our
- 5:14Speaker 9: family secret Santa. So I went and I tracked down
- 5:17Speaker 9: an original menu from the marsh Side Restaurant, which was
- 5:20Speaker 9: our restaurant going up. So it's a menu from like
- 5:22Speaker 9: the sixties. Actually showed Alex that, but it's got like,
- 5:25Speaker 9: you know, the map of the cape and like a
- 5:27Speaker 9: fisherman drawn on it was Arizon. So yeah, and it
- 5:30Speaker 9: came like all you know, plastered up. So I'm gonna
- 5:33Speaker 9: I'm gonna frame it for her. But I showed her that,
- 5:34Speaker 9: so we found you. We tracked down. Yeah, yeah, it
- 5:37Speaker 9: was really cool. I mean, you know, it's like kind
- 5:38Speaker 9: of just you know, it's hard to get people, but.
- 5:41Speaker 4: You, Paul, was there a car with a bow in
- 5:42Speaker 4: the driveway for you?
- 5:44Speaker 5: Another year went by without that, you know, maybe maybe
- 5:47Speaker 5: next year we'll see. I love those commercials.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like absolutely loved.
- 5:52Speaker 5: Those commercials were so Will got himself a new driver,
- 5:58Speaker 5: which was probably the best he got himself. He knew
- 6:02Speaker 5: he was getting it because he had to get his
- 6:04Speaker 5: massive discount for working at the PGA superstore. But he
- 6:08Speaker 5: sent it to like the ping rep. He sent all
- 6:10Speaker 5: the specs of what he wanted, like for the you know,
- 6:12Speaker 5: the head and the shafting grip and everything. So Beth
- 6:16Speaker 5: and I made sure that he got that. But so
- 6:18Speaker 5: he was. He was really jacked up, like like he
- 6:21Speaker 5: had opened like four or five gifts and you obviously
- 6:23Speaker 5: knew which one the driver was. It's in this long box.
- 6:26Speaker 5: She didn't take it out of the box. Mic sorry,
- 6:30Speaker 5: So he was like, I just I just gotta like
- 6:32Speaker 5: take that. I got to get the driver out, and
- 6:34Speaker 5: he was he was really excited about that. I got
- 6:36Speaker 5: Beath one of those ottomans that the top comes off
- 6:39Speaker 5: and there's like foot massage or inside like sharper image.
- 6:41Speaker 5: Oh yeah, yeah, Oh we got one of those that
- 6:44Speaker 5: went over really really well.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Nice.
- 6:47Speaker 8: Nice.
- 6:47Speaker 5: I might be out of trouble for at least twenty
- 6:49Speaker 5: four to four hours.
- 6:51Speaker 9: Anniversary, I mean.
- 6:54Speaker 5: The anniversary is like that like this.
- 6:56Speaker 9: Week's the birthday.
- 6:58Speaker 10: Well at least she had a Christmas at least guess
- 7:01Speaker 10: to be my ally.
- 7:03Speaker 11: I'm like Evan.
- 7:05Speaker 10: Evan's fiance told him what she wanted like months in advance,
- 7:09Speaker 10: and he waited till the last minute.
- 7:10Speaker 11: So it didn't get here.
- 7:12Speaker 5: Jez Isn't that so odd?
- 7:15Speaker 10: There was an amazing sale for it on Christmas Eve
- 7:17Speaker 10: me and toamarrow, like you got to pull this trigger,
- 7:19Speaker 10: like this is a big gift, like you got to
- 7:21Speaker 10: take advantage.
- 7:22Speaker 7: Of He did not.
- 7:24Speaker 10: He didn't know it didn't get here in time, and
- 7:27Speaker 10: he didn't take advantage of the Black Friday sales.
- 7:32Speaker 11: It's called a slagh station.
- 7:33Speaker 10: It's essentially just a really high end makeup vanity with
- 7:36Speaker 10: the nice lights around the mirror and everything like Barbie.
- 7:40Speaker 11: Yeah, but white not pink for real people.
- 7:44Speaker 5: White not pinking, you know, for actual humans.
- 7:47Speaker 4: Slave stage.
- 7:48Speaker 9: But he ended up having to go out and get
- 7:49Speaker 9: a bunch of like gifts that could be here.
- 7:51Speaker 1: They need to that. I'm working blue hair on that one.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Okay, all right, well listen, Patriots are back at it today.
- 8:03Speaker 4: They're on the bowl field. They're inside.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Yeah, like they were just making their way back. Excuse me,
- 8:11Speaker 5: as we were coming here.
- 8:12Speaker 4: Yeah, So large media contingent chilli out there a little
- 8:15Speaker 4: bit passed by. They were all waiting to get out there.
- 8:18Speaker 4: A lot of people.
- 8:19Speaker 7: Yeah yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 9: I also wonder if they were doing the go out
- 8:22Speaker 9: come back in Oh.
- 8:23Speaker 5: That could be, that could be.
- 8:24Speaker 9: Don't look at this part.
- 8:25Speaker 4: Don't even look at pay no attention to that man
- 8:28Speaker 4: behind walk out. So they're they're out there. We'll hear
- 8:31Speaker 4: from Evan when he comes back. We're going to do
- 8:34Speaker 4: picks today and at some point, Evan, maybe the three
- 8:39Speaker 4: of you are going to go check out the locker
- 8:40Speaker 4: room at about one o'clock. We'll come back before picks though.
- 8:44Speaker 5: It's already a bad start for picks for US. We
- 8:47Speaker 5: spa Paul multiple games.
- 8:49Speaker 4: We don't have a feel our feel for the league.
- 8:51Speaker 4: Particularly that Pittsburgh game failed me.
- 8:55Speaker 5: I took the points with Houston. They weren't even competitive.
- 8:57Speaker 5: At least Pittsburgh was in the game.
- 8:59Speaker 4: For a while, right but I thought for sure Pittsburgh
- 9:01Speaker 4: was going to make a show of it, and they collapsed,
- 9:04Speaker 4: like Paul said, second half, it was awful. Then the
- 9:08Speaker 4: second game Baltimore, Baltimore looks like a wagon right now.
- 9:12Speaker 9: You think Lamar is making a case for the m.
- 9:14Speaker 5: V P but he's had an unbelievable year.
- 9:17Speaker 4: Some of the numbers I saw, well, I don't know
- 9:19Speaker 4: if you want to get into the whole MVP story,
- 9:21Speaker 4: but I still say that Josh Allen to me, is
- 9:24Speaker 4: the most valuable to his team, you know, because Lamar Absolutely,
- 9:28Speaker 4: if you want to do Offensive Player of the Year,
- 9:30Speaker 4: it's Lamar Jackson. But like, he's got Derek Henry and
- 9:34Speaker 4: I just think he's got more.
- 9:35Speaker 5: How do you think they'd be without him?
- 9:37Speaker 4: But they all these teams? How would the Chiefs be
- 9:40Speaker 4: without mahomes how?
- 9:42Speaker 5: But that's what I'm saying, Like, I think all those
- 9:44Speaker 5: guys are very worthy for that for the literal term
- 9:47Speaker 5: that you like to use, because I think they would
- 9:50Speaker 5: all be nothing.
- 9:50Speaker 4: Well, absolutely, there's no doubt those three teams. Yeah, there's
- 9:54Speaker 4: no doubt. I think Bengals would be nothing without Burrow,
- 9:57Speaker 4: even though you know the record's not great, but they'd
- 9:59Speaker 4: be even worse without him.
- 10:01Speaker 5: Whenever, again, last year they found a way to keep
- 10:03Speaker 5: winning when he got hurt.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true.
- 10:07Speaker 5: And Baltimore's really falling apart, and then you know, I
- 10:10Speaker 5: know it's maybe it's a little different with Tyler Huntley
- 10:13Speaker 5: trying to play like the last few years.
- 10:15Speaker 9: Yeah, since his record better last year without Burrow than
- 10:18Speaker 9: they were this year with him.
- 10:19Speaker 7: I don't know if that's true or not.
- 10:21Speaker 5: But no, but they kept winning games. They kept winning
- 10:24Speaker 5: games last year and they ended up going nine and eight.
- 10:26Speaker 5: They're probably gonna go nine and eight this year.
- 10:29Speaker 9: Definitely things.
- 10:30Speaker 4: But Jackson is he just makes it look so easy.
- 10:34Speaker 4: And you know, like the way he extends those plays
- 10:38Speaker 4: and just keeps his eyes down field, and then when
- 10:41Speaker 4: he runs, like he doesn't seem like he's going that fast,
- 10:44Speaker 4: but he he is.
- 10:45Speaker 5: That's that like ridiculous athleticism when it doesn't appear as
- 10:49Speaker 5: if you're running as fast as you can and they're
- 10:51Speaker 5: just gliding.
- 10:52Speaker 9: Yeah, as allus too, like just those guys super athletes.
- 10:55Speaker 4: And how many touchdowns does he have now? Like forty?
- 10:57Speaker 9: It's only like he's been invol the forty of them.
- 10:59Speaker 7: Yeah, it's it's impressive. It's impressive yep.
- 11:02Speaker 4: And then the rushing yards and everything he broke what's
- 11:07Speaker 4: it he broke Michael Vick's record.
- 11:09Speaker 5: Yeah, he has the most rushing yards Yeah, by a quarterback.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Yeah, So just incredible stuff. And the Chiefs are now
- 11:17Speaker 4: look better than they have all season.
- 11:20Speaker 9: In that one game, you're starting to peak, right, cover
- 11:23Speaker 9: two spreads in a row. Yeah, get health a little bit.
- 11:26Speaker 4: They just know how to win. They're gonna be tough.
- 11:28Speaker 4: They're gonna be tough. But I'm still I still think
- 11:32Speaker 4: the Bills might have what it takes to get over
- 11:34Speaker 4: the hump at least get to the super Bowl. But
- 11:36Speaker 4: it's gonna be interesting. It's gonna be really interesting.
- 11:39Speaker 9: I mean, do you think there's a chance that Kansas
- 11:41Speaker 9: City ANFC championship?
- 11:42Speaker 6: Maybe?
- 11:43Speaker 8: Is?
- 11:43Speaker 7: Uh?
- 11:43Speaker 9: Are underdogs?
- 11:44Speaker 7: Any chances of that?
- 11:45Speaker 9: You think? Maybe?
- 11:47Speaker 4: Not at not at home?
- 11:48Speaker 8: Not at home?
- 11:49Speaker 9: AUS you get three?
- 11:50Speaker 4: Yeah, you get three? Yeah, you get three. But in
- 11:54Speaker 4: terms of the draft standings, Patriots right now sit at too,
- 11:57Speaker 4: I believe, right.
- 11:58Speaker 9: Yeah, which is now like got me? Yeah, I don't
- 12:01Speaker 9: really know how to feel about it because Buffalo is
- 12:04Speaker 9: going to be out of the running now for Yeah.
- 12:05Speaker 4: I think they'll probably be locked into two, right, I
- 12:09Speaker 4: don't know, I mean if they if they can't get one,
- 12:11Speaker 4: they're out of one.
- 12:12Speaker 9: Oh yeah yeah, oh Bufalo, Sorry, I'm sorry, Yeah, I mean,
- 12:14Speaker 9: but the Patriots, like they were to just like pull
- 12:16Speaker 9: off a win against the backup laden Buffalo team here
- 12:20Speaker 9: and then all of a sudden it have from like
- 12:22Speaker 9: I'm all for Like I didn't really want the number
- 12:24Speaker 9: one overall, see, but like I don't want to go
- 12:25Speaker 9: if they're a two goals.
- 12:26Speaker 4: So I'm gonna ask you this, because.
- 12:28Speaker 5: Needs to beat the Jets this week. If they do,
- 12:31Speaker 5: then that game, Yeah, there's a chance that.
- 12:34Speaker 4: You and I are on board. Let's win games. It's
- 12:37Speaker 4: just better for the team. But if they lose to
- 12:40Speaker 4: the Chargers and they go into that last game and
- 12:43Speaker 4: if they win, who knows where they'll end up, or
- 12:47Speaker 4: if they lose, they stay at two or one. What
- 12:50Speaker 4: would you say about tanking that one game?
- 12:52Speaker 5: I'd rather lose.
- 12:53Speaker 8: Yeah, me too.
- 12:53Speaker 5: I mean, I don't think it's a.
- 12:54Speaker 10: Big It's like, you made it this far with all
- 12:59Speaker 10: these losses without blatantly tankings, so you might as well
- 13:02Speaker 10: just yeah, and.
- 13:03Speaker 5: It's not a big deal because I don't really think
- 13:04Speaker 5: there's much in the draft that is going to change,
- 13:07Speaker 5: you know, in those spots. But you don't get the
- 13:10Speaker 5: bump from just winning one game, right right, you know,
- 13:14Speaker 5: and you certainly are not going to get the bump
- 13:16Speaker 5: from beating the Bills. GV right, because that's what's going
- 13:19Speaker 5: to play. I think assuming the Bills beat the Jets,
- 13:23Speaker 5: they're locked into two. Yeah, so they're gonna have to
- 13:26Speaker 5: play the following week.
- 13:28Speaker 4: I wonder how sorry.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Some of those guys at least will be resting. I
- 13:31Speaker 5: think they rested a bunch of guys last week.
- 13:33Speaker 4: I wonder if if the Bills put all their their
- 13:36Speaker 4: backups in and we play our starters, I wonder how
- 13:40Speaker 4: hard you have to try to lose that game? Or
- 13:42Speaker 4: are the Bills still that much better than you that
- 13:46Speaker 4: you know?
- 13:47Speaker 8: God?
- 13:47Speaker 5: Yeah, and that could go you know you because you
- 13:50Speaker 5: could see some young guys playing for the Bills, guys
- 13:52Speaker 5: that haven't played that much and they're playing hard, right,
- 13:54Speaker 5: that's true, could see that if that's the way it
- 13:57Speaker 5: unfold here. I don't know, I don't know exactly what
- 13:59Speaker 5: to expect. Those games are always hard to predict, those
- 14:01Speaker 5: Week eighteen games. Who's playing?
- 14:04Speaker 7: So we're kind of rooting for the Jets.
- 14:05Speaker 9: Then maybe to pull off an upset this week and
- 14:07Speaker 9: make Buffalo have to play everybody?
- 14:09Speaker 5: And you want that, you like that?
- 14:11Speaker 9: Well, I would say if the Jets one this week,
- 14:13Speaker 9: then the Buffalo it means something for them next week,
- 14:15Speaker 9: and then they got to play that.
- 14:15Speaker 8: Because they can't.
- 14:16Speaker 5: They don't want to finish tie with Baltimore because then
- 14:18Speaker 5: they would lose the tie record.
- 14:20Speaker 4: See in that case, if the Bills are playing all
- 14:23Speaker 4: their starters, then I kind of I want to win
- 14:25Speaker 4: the game, you know, just to finish on that you know,
- 14:28Speaker 4: high note of beating a playoff team, right.
- 14:30Speaker 7: And they fall away.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Yeah, so there's a lot of variables going into Week eighteen.
- 14:36Speaker 4: But right now we're in Week seventeen, one o'clock game
- 14:38Speaker 4: on Saturday. How do we feel about that? Do we
- 14:41Speaker 4: feel we have a shot?
- 14:45Speaker 9: I don't want to respond in a way that sounds
- 14:46Speaker 9: like no, no, no, I do not.
- 14:49Speaker 4: I I was playing out the string.
- 14:50Speaker 9: I think they have I think they have a shot
- 14:52Speaker 9: as much as any team does any week. But I
- 14:54Speaker 9: just look, the Chargers really need they need this game.
- 14:56Speaker 9: They're trying to peek at the end of the season.
- 14:58Speaker 9: I think it looks like it's gonna be a little
- 14:59Speaker 9: wet maybe, so we'll see how the Chargers handle that.
- 15:02Speaker 9: But I mean, if the Chargers are what they think
- 15:03Speaker 9: they are, and they're telling us they are and everyone's
- 15:05Speaker 9: telling us they're a tough team and run the ball
- 15:07Speaker 9: and you know all these things.
- 15:08Speaker 7: That you know, this is a game that they should win.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Well in that. In that respect, it is a good
- 15:12Speaker 4: test for the Patriots run defense because it's been suspect,
- 15:16Speaker 4: you know.
- 15:16Speaker 9: I mean suspects putting it kindly, I mean, I just
- 15:18Speaker 9: I think you've heard it from Mayo the last you know,
- 15:21Speaker 9: however many weeks, like I mean, they what went wrong
- 15:23Speaker 9: run defense? Like run fits and t backing, like just
- 15:25Speaker 9: the fundamental stuff. And you hear it right from the
- 15:28Speaker 9: coaches too. It's I mean, you call it a test,
- 15:30Speaker 9: I'm like, geez, another, I mean, are you expecting them
- 15:33Speaker 9: to suddenly be able to do it?
- 15:34Speaker 7: I'm not.
- 15:35Speaker 9: And that's why I lean towards the Chargers.
- 15:38Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 15:39Speaker 4: I was watching Ted Johnson on one of his shows
- 15:41Speaker 4: on NBC Sports Boston. He's with Phil Perry, and he
- 15:46Speaker 4: was diagramming that play that ended up being the touchdown,
- 15:50Speaker 4: and he just said, there was like four or five
- 15:52Speaker 4: guys that just did the wrong thing on that play.
- 15:55Speaker 9: Yeah you know Mapoo among them, and yeah he on
- 15:57Speaker 9: white and over pursuing.
- 15:59Speaker 7: And just you know, yeah, not good. Not good.
- 16:01Speaker 9: I mean, I guess it does sound like JK. Dobbins
- 16:04Speaker 9: was back in practice who you know, first two weeks
- 16:06Speaker 9: for rush for one hundred thirty yards. I mean he's
- 16:07Speaker 9: you know, pretty good back. He's been out for over
- 16:10Speaker 9: a month now, So yeah, we'll see if they they're.
- 16:12Speaker 4: Gonna want to give him some reps to get him
- 16:14Speaker 4: ready for maybe maybe you know.
- 16:17Speaker 9: Him and the gust bus. I mean, it's you know,
- 16:19Speaker 9: it's I mean interesting though. It's like you've been saying
- 16:20Speaker 9: that a lot, Paul. It's like, you know, on paper,
- 16:22Speaker 9: that's what or not even paper, Like I think everyone
- 16:24Speaker 9: talks about this being their identity of being able to
- 16:26Speaker 9: run the ball, and it's.
- 16:27Speaker 5: Like, well but they're not, or they just you know,
- 16:30Speaker 5: but that's who we are.
- 16:31Speaker 8: You know.
- 16:32Speaker 5: No, I just feel like that's Harbaugh has always wanted
- 16:35Speaker 5: to be, you know, sort of a physical, run oriented
- 16:38Speaker 5: team and Greg Roman who was always his coordinator in
- 16:40Speaker 5: San Francisco when they were doing that at their best,
- 16:43Speaker 5: and that's what they have now they're not, you know,
- 16:45Speaker 5: they don't have the personnel to do it. Like they're
- 16:47Speaker 5: not a really good running team. That's how they want
- 16:49Speaker 5: to play. And that's when you say that do they
- 16:51Speaker 5: have a shot. I think the way that I almost
- 16:54Speaker 5: called them San Diego like you. So the way the
- 16:57Speaker 5: Chargers play, I think you'll have a shot because they
- 16:59Speaker 5: don't blow anyone out. They don't. First of all, I
- 17:02Speaker 5: don't have any wide receivers, so they're not going to
- 17:05Speaker 5: throw it all over the yard on you and light
- 17:07Speaker 5: up the school. But they're going to run the ball,
- 17:08Speaker 5: and then they're gonna throw the ball at Lad McConkey
- 17:10Speaker 5: and maybe Quintin Johnson catches a touchdown.
- 17:13Speaker 9: Yeah you know, yeah, I was just thinking back to
- 17:15Speaker 9: twenty nineteen when I think it was Greg Rome with
- 17:17Speaker 9: the Ravens right, and they ran all over the Patriots.
- 17:19Speaker 9: Granted Lamar a totally different, but still that's what they're
- 17:22Speaker 9: gonna do when they come here.
- 17:23Speaker 7: Yeah, try to run them that way.
- 17:24Speaker 4: All right? Did people watch the Christmas Games yesterday on Netflix?
- 17:30Speaker 11: A little bit so bad?
- 17:32Speaker 7: I get like, I just couldn't get into it.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Netflix games are the quality of the oh the broadcasts.
- 17:37Speaker 9: The broadcast was fine on my end in terms of
- 17:39Speaker 9: the streaming and everything. But yeah, I just I don't know,
- 17:41Speaker 9: just both time I turned on the games, they were
- 17:43Speaker 9: out of hand and not all that interesting.
- 17:45Speaker 10: But they about the NFL trying to like take over Christmas.
- 17:48Speaker 10: The basketball games were really good last night, Like that
- 17:51Speaker 10: Warriors Lakers game was awesome.
- 17:54Speaker 4: We's what four out of seven or something like that.
- 17:57Speaker 4: Not good for them, but a little skined. So what
- 18:00Speaker 4: did you think about Netflix talent? Like they had people
- 18:04Speaker 4: all over the place from all all different networks.
- 18:07Speaker 7: I didn't even who who wasn't.
- 18:10Speaker 10: Time on the desk kind of doing like the halftime
- 18:14Speaker 10: like NFL Live type set up. It was like Mina Chimes,
- 18:17Speaker 10: k Adams. They had Jamie Erdall on the sideline, Mantiog three.
- 18:24Speaker 9: So they're just kind of taking from everybody.
- 18:25Speaker 4: Yeah, they had jj Watt in the booth.
- 18:29Speaker 11: Money.
- 18:31Speaker 5: I thought it was funny that JJ Watt was in
- 18:33Speaker 5: the booth while his brother was playing. Yeah, you know,
- 18:36Speaker 5: and there was a play that he got held jj
- 18:38Speaker 5: Watt got held on and he was like talking about it,
- 18:40Speaker 5: and I was like, that's got to be kind of weird.
- 18:43Speaker 5: You know, my brother would have had a sack on
- 18:44Speaker 5: that play.
- 18:45Speaker 4: But you know, yeah, No, I thought they did a
- 18:49Speaker 4: pretty good job. Yeah, Cli and my my stream was
- 18:53Speaker 4: was perfect. Paul had problems and.
- 18:55Speaker 5: It wasn't terrible. It just kind of looked like a Maddens,
- 18:58Speaker 5: you know, only.
- 18:59Speaker 11: During the Baltimore game.
- 19:00Speaker 10: I kind of notice the glitchy and I wonder if
- 19:03Speaker 10: maybe the early game people are still eating and kind
- 19:06Speaker 10: of doing stuff, but then the Baltimore game more people
- 19:08Speaker 10: are kind of paying attention to it.
- 19:10Speaker 5: I just thought it didn't look like an actual broadcast.
- 19:13Speaker 4: What do you think about playing not necessarily a Christmas
- 19:18Speaker 4: but playing on a Wednesday?
- 19:20Speaker 5: Both of them I didn't like. Yeah, but yeah, I
- 19:22Speaker 5: think the Wednesday part.
- 19:23Speaker 4: So what happened? When when Christmas is on a Tuesday?
- 19:27Speaker 4: How's that gonna hap? Is it an extension of the
- 19:29Speaker 4: week before or is it a game for the week ahead?
- 19:34Speaker 4: Because that's a that's a tough spot, right, this game
- 19:37Speaker 4: was for this week, this Wednesday. But what do you
- 19:39Speaker 4: do if it's a Tuesday.
- 19:40Speaker 9: You gotta be a Thursday? Like do you have a
- 19:43Speaker 9: double Thursday header? And then both teams want to you know,
- 19:45Speaker 9: you take one team from each of the two matchups
- 19:47Speaker 9: on Thursday and then make them play on Tuesday, you
- 19:50Speaker 9: know what I mean? Like you have to kind of
- 19:51Speaker 9: get them.
- 19:55Speaker 11: And that's such a late bye to have after that
- 19:57Speaker 11: to make up Monday. It's like I don't know.
- 19:59Speaker 4: But if it's the week ahead, then I mean, if
- 20:02Speaker 4: it's the well.
- 20:03Speaker 7: I guess Tuesday the day, right. If you did it, you.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Do it as an extension of Monday night football. Then
- 20:10Speaker 4: you're played on Tuesday and then you're gonna play again
- 20:12Speaker 4: on Saturday or Sunday.
- 20:13Speaker 9: You know, Tuesday complicated day. Try to jam it in
- 20:16Speaker 9: the NFL.
- 20:18Speaker 4: So I'm you know, like I I enjoyed having games
- 20:22Speaker 4: on Christmas. I just from a player st point, I'm
- 20:27Speaker 4: not sure that they're taken into consideration how tough it
- 20:30Speaker 4: is to play football. Yeah, I mean by the time
- 20:33Speaker 4: you need to recover sy.
- 20:34Speaker 9: Indy Reid get asked about it, I mean they're just,
- 20:35Speaker 9: you know, there's nothing they can say. They just all
- 20:37Speaker 9: skirt around it and are like, I'll let you answer
- 20:40Speaker 9: that yourself. But clearly it's just it's really especially at
- 20:42Speaker 9: this time of year. I mean, I don't know. Maybe
- 20:43Speaker 9: right now, as Kansas City sits here, they're probably like,
- 20:45Speaker 9: it was great, we just banged out a bunch. Now
- 20:47Speaker 9: we got a week and a half off, like, yeah,
- 20:49Speaker 9: you know, it's almost an extra buy for them before
- 20:51Speaker 9: they go on another buy. So maybe they're even talking
- 20:53Speaker 9: about Are we not playing enough football over the next
- 20:56Speaker 9: month to get ready for the playoffs? Are we gonna
- 20:57Speaker 9: be rusty now because you know now they're gonna have
- 21:00Speaker 9: what two games is?
- 21:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm sure. The way the league sold it to
- 21:03Speaker 4: the players association is the money. You know, we bring
- 21:07Speaker 4: in more money that raises the salary cap. You guys
- 21:10Speaker 4: get fifty.
- 21:11Speaker 5: Kind of amaze you that that they fall for that. Yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 5: I mean, I know they don't have any choice. It's
- 21:16Speaker 5: not like because they don't they don't need to, but
- 21:17Speaker 5: it is they don't need to sign off on it.
- 21:19Speaker 5: They don't see it.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Yes they do. They get fifty one percent of the revenue.
- 21:23Speaker 5: But like Patrick Mahomes will see it. No, but the
- 21:26Speaker 5: guys that are killing themselves won't because they're not going
- 21:28Speaker 5: to get paid the lower but they'll get cut when
- 21:30Speaker 5: they're not like effective and sure.
- 21:32Speaker 4: But relatively speaking, it raises everybody's it raises the pool.
- 21:37Speaker 5: You're right, yeah, but it's not something that the vast
- 21:39Speaker 5: majority of their workforce is ever going to see.
- 21:43Speaker 11: The NFL is going to rake in money no matter what.
- 21:45Speaker 5: Right, three teams and it was three out of the
- 21:47Speaker 5: four of those teams played three games in eleven days.
- 21:49Speaker 5: I think something like that, right, Like, most of those
- 21:53Speaker 5: guys are never going to see that, like the special team,
- 21:55Speaker 5: and that's killing himself running down the field is just
- 21:57Speaker 5: gonna end up getting cut in two years. He's not
- 22:00Speaker 5: going to see that because oh great, the salary cap
- 22:02Speaker 5: went up. It dangled right now. They don't have to
- 22:07Speaker 5: say it's not like they buy. I shouldn't say that
- 22:09Speaker 5: they fall for it because it's not like they don't
- 22:11Speaker 5: have to sign off on it. They don't have to
- 22:12Speaker 5: give their Okay, the NFL can do it, just like
- 22:15Speaker 5: they're going to put the eighteenth game in. They don't
- 22:17Speaker 5: need permission. They're going to do it.
- 22:18Speaker 4: No, but that has to be bargained.
- 22:21Speaker 8: It does.
- 22:22Speaker 4: Why are you saying no?
- 22:23Speaker 5: Because it doesn't why they go to the players Association
- 22:27Speaker 5: out of a courtesy? They do not need their permission.
- 22:29Speaker 4: I thought I thought in order to do that they
- 22:31Speaker 4: had to. It affects their paycheck because.
- 22:34Speaker 5: It's you know, I'm just telling you they don't have
- 22:38Speaker 5: to do it.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Okay, I thought I thought it had to be bargained
- 22:41Speaker 4: in anyway. Evan's here.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Has returned prompt.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Evan has returned, has returned from.
- 22:52Speaker 4: Pact, all right, Evan from the bowl.
- 22:58Speaker 6: Yes, in the stadium today. SEL haven't gotten to the
- 23:02Speaker 6: bottom of exactly why we're in the stadium. But in
- 23:05Speaker 6: the stadium the last couple of days.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Is this a bonus contention among the screen.
- 23:09Speaker 7: No, absolutely not.
- 23:10Speaker 6: It's actually nicer because the stadium blocks the wind and everything,
- 23:14Speaker 6: so it's probably a little bit warmer, I would say,
- 23:17Speaker 6: in the stadium. Shorter walk, Yeah, okay, it's better.
- 23:21Speaker 7: Yeah, it's better in the stadium. Yeah, those banners.
- 23:25Speaker 4: I walked past the crowd in the service tunnel. A
- 23:28Speaker 4: lot of a lot of media today.
- 23:29Speaker 6: Yes, yes, there was more media today.
- 23:33Speaker 4: I heard they're giving away sushi.
- 23:34Speaker 6: Yeah. I was going to shut that out. Actually, I
- 23:36Speaker 6: swear I just came from so Karma Sushi was here
- 23:40Speaker 6: and they had quite the spread for everybody, So that
- 23:44Speaker 6: was that was very nice. They have a couple of
- 23:47Speaker 6: different locations, and over might be the closest one. Okay, yeah,
- 23:52Speaker 6: but they have they have a few of them, so
- 23:56Speaker 6: they have a they might have one in Canton, now
- 23:59Speaker 6: that I think about it, I'll look it up. I
- 24:00Speaker 6: don't want to what you said. I had a little
- 24:03Speaker 6: bit of everything. Yeah, brought none for us. I did
- 24:06Speaker 6: not know. I thought that that it's not exactly a
- 24:09Speaker 6: thing that you eat radio, but it was very very
- 24:15Speaker 6: I do, but like, I'm not good at it. I
- 24:17Speaker 6: will fully admit that I am not good at it.
- 24:20Speaker 6: But had some. I had some yellow tail, had some
- 24:24Speaker 6: crab acado roll. Okay, yeah, it's very good. Karma sushi
- 24:30Speaker 6: is the.
- 24:30Speaker 4: Name, Karma sushi with a K.
- 24:32Speaker 6: Yes, okay, Karma with a K like the Taylor swistle, exactly.
- 24:36Speaker 5: Like the right. What about the eighteenth game? They do
- 24:39Speaker 5: need permission for the eighteenth game? Okay, there was another
- 24:41Speaker 5: I'm confusing it with something else, but yeah, I just
- 24:44Speaker 5: wanted to clarify that I looked it up because the
- 24:46Speaker 5: way you looked at me, I was like, maybe I
- 24:47Speaker 5: got that one wrong. So I did. And until the
- 24:50Speaker 5: end of the CBA in twenty thirty, they would have
- 24:53Speaker 5: to have the Plays Association permission for the eighteenth game.
- 24:57Speaker 4: So maybe they'll just wait until then. But you know
- 25:00Speaker 4: what's coming anyway, of course, Evan, any thoughts about the
- 25:05Speaker 4: games yesterday or football on Wednesdays or anything like that.
- 25:10Speaker 6: Yeah, admittedly didn't watch a ton of Ravens Texans. I
- 25:13Speaker 6: was watching the Celtics. But the early game we did watch,
- 25:17Speaker 6: and I just I don't know. It seemed like in
- 25:20Speaker 6: both games that two teams that were ready to play
- 25:24Speaker 6: on a Wednesday and two teams that weren't ready to play. Now,
- 25:26Speaker 6: those are two of the best teams in the NFL,
- 25:28Speaker 6: so maybe they would have blown doors anyways, but obviously
- 25:32Speaker 6: two very uncompetitive games, and it just kind of felt like,
- 25:36Speaker 6: you know, there was a little bit of a different
- 25:38Speaker 6: level of preparedness for the games. And yeah, and I
- 25:43Speaker 6: just I don't know. I mean, look, it's not gonna
- 25:45Speaker 6: happen every year that it's going to have to be
- 25:47Speaker 6: on a Wednesday.
- 25:48Speaker 4: So what happens when the Christmas falls on a Tuesday?
- 25:51Speaker 4: Is it the is it a game that counts for
- 25:53Speaker 4: the week before? Is it a game for the next week.
- 25:55Speaker 6: That's a good question. I don't know. But I actually
- 25:59Speaker 6: really the one time I agreed with Lebron James and
- 26:02Speaker 6: his first game press conference, he said Christmas is the
- 26:06Speaker 6: NBA's day, like leave leave us alone, NFL and the
- 26:10Speaker 6: NBA games yesterday awesome, all five of them awesome games.
- 26:15Speaker 6: So I was like, he's not wrong, you know, they
- 26:17Speaker 6: the NBA was it's the NFL probably do better ratings
- 26:21Speaker 6: and all that stuff, but the NBA product was much better.
- 26:24Speaker 7: The fittest twenty twenty nine.
- 26:26Speaker 9: That'll be when Christmas is on the Tuesday.
- 26:28Speaker 11: The night, twenty twenty so I don't got to worry
- 26:30Speaker 11: about it for a little bit.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Okay, all right? And then we talk briefly, briefly about
- 26:36Speaker 4: the Chargers game coming up on Saturday. Any you think
- 26:41Speaker 4: you give us a shot?
- 26:43Speaker 6: I do, because I don't think the Chargers offense is
- 26:48Speaker 6: an offense that has put up forty points a game,
- 26:51Speaker 6: you know, this year or anything crazy like that. So
- 26:54Speaker 6: they're nineteenth in the league and scoring right now. They're
- 26:57Speaker 6: a good offense, but they're not a great offense. So
- 26:59Speaker 6: I do think that they have a chance to at
- 27:03Speaker 6: least hang on the scoreboard because of that. And I
- 27:05Speaker 6: look at the Chargers passing game, and as great as
- 27:08Speaker 6: Herbert is, it's really Lad McConkie and kind of a
- 27:12Speaker 6: whole bunch of Jags other than that, Like I, does
- 27:14Speaker 6: Quinton Johnson scare you? Does Josh Palmer scare you?
- 27:17Speaker 8: Like?
- 27:18Speaker 6: Probably not, especially after what they did to Buffalo, So
- 27:21Speaker 6: I would expect them to have a pretty similar plan
- 27:23Speaker 6: for mcconkee as they did Khalil Shakir and just kind
- 27:27Speaker 6: of try to take out the middle of the field
- 27:28Speaker 6: and take away McConkie, and then you've Quentin Johnston beats
- 27:32Speaker 6: you on the outside and he beats you.
- 27:34Speaker 9: It's so funny how quickly it changes. Like I'm still
- 27:36Speaker 9: just murmuring Fred being like, watch this.
- 27:38Speaker 7: Lad maconkee kid. And now here we are talking about.
- 27:40Speaker 6: We got to take maconky away from he's there. Yeah,
- 27:42Speaker 6: he's their best player on offense besides justin Herbert in
- 27:45Speaker 6: terms of you know, skill positions. Like really, their backs
- 27:48Speaker 6: aren't even anything crazy either. It's it's McConkie and it's
- 27:53Speaker 6: Herbert in the passing game.
- 27:54Speaker 4: So do you want to win this game from a
- 27:57Speaker 4: draft standpoint.
- 27:58Speaker 6: I don't know. I think this one, yes, Like I
- 28:00Speaker 6: think next week, if they beat the Bills backups, I'm
- 28:03Speaker 6: gonna be really annoyed.
- 28:04Speaker 4: That's what we were saying. Yeah, even Paul and I
- 28:06Speaker 4: are saying, yeah, if we get that far, probably just
- 28:08Speaker 4: lose the next game.
- 28:09Speaker 6: If they if they win this week and show really
- 28:13Speaker 6: well against a team that needs the game, then I
- 28:15Speaker 6: feel like that says something.
- 28:17Speaker 4: It's worth the win. Yeah, it's worth It's worth the
- 28:19Speaker 4: loss of the slot.
- 28:21Speaker 6: Right especially, you know, this isn't Denver last year. Like,
- 28:23Speaker 6: the Chargers are a legitimate team in the AFC power,
- 28:27Speaker 6: So I'd be down for a win on Saturday.
- 28:31Speaker 4: I mean if the Bills have nothing to play for
- 28:33Speaker 4: next week and they're playing their backups, how how and
- 28:38Speaker 4: we're playing our starters?
- 28:40Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 28:40Speaker 4: Like how much of a difference then? Is it? Are
- 28:42Speaker 4: they still that much better than the Patriots or will
- 28:45Speaker 4: it be tough to lose that game?
- 28:46Speaker 6: It'd be tough to lose to mister Bisky.
- 28:48Speaker 4: I don't mean tough from a morale standpoint. I mean, like,
- 28:53Speaker 4: you know, technically, how bad would the Patriots have to
- 28:56Speaker 4: play to lose to a bunch of backups?
- 28:58Speaker 6: I think pretty bad? Okay, I mean mister Bisky is
- 29:01Speaker 6: bad like that? Like you, they.
- 29:03Speaker 4: Should be one NFL game.
- 29:05Speaker 6: They should be able to play defense on Mitch t Whisky, Yeah,
- 29:08Speaker 6: and keep the game low scoring on that side of
- 29:12Speaker 6: the ball defensively, If they can't stop mister Bisky in
- 29:15Speaker 6: a Week eighteen game, then we got problems.
- 29:18Speaker 9: Yeah, Like thirty forty carries probably will work out? Okay?
- 29:23Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 29:26Speaker 6: Wow, also didn't didn't give a practice again, so he
- 29:30Speaker 6: can do that if we want. Yeah.
- 29:32Speaker 5: Yeah, so Evan, you know, your job is to actually
- 29:35Speaker 5: go out and see what's going on in practice. So
- 29:38Speaker 5: what was the attendance like?
- 29:39Speaker 6: So there was two players missing from Patriots practice on Thursday.
- 29:43Speaker 6: They were Marcus Jones, who remains out with that hip
- 29:46Speaker 6: injury could use so it sounds like I would not
- 29:50Speaker 6: expect him to play at this point, and I would
- 29:52Speaker 6: also not expect Ben Brown to play still not practicing
- 29:56Speaker 6: with that concussion. Uh. Mayo was pretty close to the
- 30:00Speaker 6: vest kind of Belichickian this morning about who's going to
- 30:02Speaker 6: start at center for the Patriots. I felt like I
- 30:04Speaker 6: wouldn't really give a straight answer on that, so I
- 30:07Speaker 6: would expect it to be Cold Strange, but Lucida Smith
- 30:10Speaker 6: is another name he threw out there and sort of
- 30:12Speaker 6: left the door open for it to be either one
- 30:14Speaker 6: of those guys.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Okay, maybe they split split reps. Who knows.
- 30:18Speaker 5: Yeah, you know.
- 30:20Speaker 9: I'd love to see Strange. Hope he's ready though.
- 30:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:23Speaker 5: It's a good point though about splitting, because I don't
- 30:25Speaker 5: know if you can rely on Cole Strange, who hasn't
- 30:27Speaker 5: played a game in almost you know, a full year,
- 30:30Speaker 5: right right, Yeah, it was around this time last year
- 30:33Speaker 5: that he gave us the Chiefs game, I think the
- 30:35Speaker 5: one that got hurt in So you can't expect him
- 30:38Speaker 5: to go wire to wire shells.
- 30:42Speaker 6: Shells. Yeah, light practice attire this week, you know, Saturday game,
- 30:48Speaker 6: short week week seventeen, so they haven't been in full
- 30:52Speaker 6: pass this week.
- 30:52Speaker 4: In I do you see anything but warm ups?
- 30:56Speaker 6: We saw one period and they put the offensive line
- 30:59Speaker 6: in the total opposite corner of where the media was fitting.
- 31:05Speaker 6: But we did we did see one period. One little
- 31:08Speaker 6: thing I did notice that I don't think we I
- 31:11Speaker 6: think it might be on the injury board. Johnnie Tovai
- 31:13Speaker 6: was wearing a club on his hand, so he's dealing
- 31:15Speaker 6: with something with that. So he was he had that,
- 31:18Speaker 6: you know, the whole the ball on the hand, you know,
- 31:20Speaker 6: all rolled up and everything. So that was interesting. You know,
- 31:23Speaker 6: that was something that we saw because we were in
- 31:25Speaker 6: the stadium. We're a lot closer to the players than
- 31:28Speaker 6: we are when we're out on the practice field, so
- 31:31Speaker 6: you really are like right in front of them.
- 31:33Speaker 4: Do they just made me think for offensive linemen, do
- 31:37Speaker 4: they ever make the guys wear those things? So they
- 31:40Speaker 4: can't hold in practice.
- 31:41Speaker 6: It's possible. I know that they use the pads on
- 31:44Speaker 6: the hands for the DBS in drills, but they give
- 31:47Speaker 6: them like almost like boxing pads, you know, to put
- 31:50Speaker 6: on their hands, and that's how they avoid, you know,
- 31:54Speaker 6: being able to grab and things like that.
- 31:55Speaker 9: Yeah, anything with Ken Wallace, I'm just that's one piece
- 31:58Speaker 9: love to.
- 31:59Speaker 6: No and yeah, I'm with you. I mean, I think
- 32:01Speaker 6: it's clock's ticking to get a chance to see him
- 32:04Speaker 6: play at all before the year is out. So I
- 32:07Speaker 6: know he played earlier in the year, but there's one
- 32:09Speaker 6: start the Jets.
- 32:11Speaker 9: I don't know why in my memory. I mean maybe
- 32:13Speaker 9: it was just preseason we saw him so much. But
- 32:14Speaker 9: I look back and I was like, wow, he really
- 32:16Speaker 9: didn't play much at all.
- 32:17Speaker 7: And those that first out that he was healthy.
- 32:19Speaker 6: Nope.
- 32:19Speaker 4: Would you say the mood was festive day after Christmas festive?
- 32:24Speaker 6: I would say that the the this free sushi definitely helped.
- 32:28Speaker 6: The mood was very hot.
- 32:30Speaker 4: The players first, you know.
- 32:32Speaker 6: Well, I thought you're talking about us. We matter a lot,
- 32:35Speaker 6: uh the players, Uh No, I think it was pretty
- 32:39Speaker 6: workman like today. I mean we haven't been in the
- 32:40Speaker 6: locker room yet because we're doing that later today. So
- 32:43Speaker 6: but I thought it was pretty uh, pretty normal vibe. No,
- 32:48Speaker 6: you know, no holiday hangovers hopefully and.
- 32:50Speaker 4: In terms and in terms of the scribes, uh an
- 32:54Speaker 4: he talk about you know, gifts, things they got the
- 32:58Speaker 4: day that they had yesterday, anything like that. Anybody looked hungover?
- 33:02Speaker 6: No, no, no hungover people that I saw. You know,
- 33:05Speaker 6: a lot of a lot of talk about what you know,
- 33:08Speaker 6: the kids got obviously around around the scribes, which I
- 33:11Speaker 6: did not partake, have no kids, so I don't you know,
- 33:16Speaker 6: we don't really talk about that amongst the.
- 33:18Speaker 4: I know, I heard I heard your guy this morning
- 33:22Speaker 4: on My Guy.
- 33:23Speaker 6: Yeah, yes, yes, he's on. Yeah, he's complaining about how
- 33:27Speaker 6: early he had to wake up.
- 33:28Speaker 4: You know, talking about college football and they were doing
- 33:31Speaker 4: uh can't help them things that boomers say or something
- 33:34Speaker 4: like that.
- 33:35Speaker 6: Yeah, it's him, and uh and Andrew Callahan was on
- 33:38Speaker 6: for I think the first three hours, and then Kendra
- 33:41Speaker 6: was on with a dune on the third.
- 33:44Speaker 5: As I was driving in.
- 33:45Speaker 7: Yeah, the chemistry, Okay.
- 33:50Speaker 11: We're just desperately trying to set barth up with anyone.
- 33:52Speaker 6: Tell me about it, literally, anyone, Are you feeling all right?
- 33:57Speaker 5: Maybe it was me. It was here a few minutes ago.
- 34:00Speaker 11: But he talks to one girl and in the media corps.
- 34:04Speaker 6: Oh my god, something going on literally anyone.
- 34:08Speaker 4: I mean, he may not be interested. I don't know.
- 34:10Speaker 6: I don't I don't need to go that deep on it.
- 34:12Speaker 6: But wait, why do you think watch football because he's
- 34:15Speaker 6: six am?
- 34:16Speaker 7: Because I got ye?
- 34:20Speaker 4: All right, Well that's your report from the practice brought
- 34:24Speaker 4: to you by Karma Sushi.
- 34:26Speaker 7: Yes, there was no one grossing about it. I don't
- 34:28Speaker 7: like sushi, so that was the thing.
- 34:30Speaker 6: When we were walking.
- 34:31Speaker 11: Back, I was thinking about that.
- 34:32Speaker 10: I feel like our media is not the sushishi.
- 34:40Speaker 5: What's the demographic to eat sushi?
- 34:41Speaker 10: I don't know.
- 34:42Speaker 5: Is that is that a thing?
- 34:43Speaker 4: Well, the older people like me, I feel like we
- 34:46Speaker 4: tend to shy away from him.
- 34:48Speaker 11: I agree, that's what I've noticed at least.
- 34:51Speaker 9: But it's all I learned.
- 34:53Speaker 5: So mt how teaches me so much.
- 34:55Speaker 10: It's just my waitressing experience. No, it's nothing actual factual,
- 34:58Speaker 10: it's just my observation.
- 35:00Speaker 5: So it's like an age like I think you don't
- 35:03Speaker 5: see a lot of older people eating sushi.
- 35:06Speaker 10: Unless they're Japanese or I don't think so. At least
- 35:09Speaker 10: my dad loves My dad loves sushi.
- 35:11Speaker 11: But I think he's an outlier in my life.
- 35:12Speaker 4: Who of the media was most excited to eat sushi
- 35:16Speaker 4: besides you?
- 35:17Speaker 6: Besides me? I was pretty excited.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Taylor Kyle's no.
- 35:24Speaker 6: I I don't know. Well, I'll just I'll just think
- 35:29Speaker 6: I'll say one because you know, he's excited just to
- 35:31Speaker 6: wake up in the morning. And that's Dan roach you know,
- 35:33Speaker 6: like Dan yeh. Roachie is just like you know, excited
- 35:37Speaker 6: to eat it.
- 35:38Speaker 5: Anything happens breaks the boomer And I don't know.
- 35:41Speaker 6: I actually don't know if he ate it or not.
- 35:43Speaker 6: I am assuming because you know, Roachie a big smile,
- 35:46Speaker 6: taking pictures, like greeting all the people, the service people,
- 35:50Speaker 6: you know everything.
- 35:51Speaker 4: It's so I'm thinking of an old right maybe I
- 35:56Speaker 4: think that of an older person who would be there.
- 35:57Speaker 4: Was Alan Siegel there? He was not He was not there.
- 36:00Speaker 6: I didn't see him there. Yeah, No, I didn't see
- 36:03Speaker 6: him there, but I I we talked about that on
- 36:06Speaker 6: the walk back over That sushi. You either love it
- 36:09Speaker 6: or you hate it, and there's really no in between.
- 36:11Speaker 6: So you know that it could be a huge hit
- 36:13Speaker 6: or it could be not a huge hit.
- 36:16Speaker 4: So I'll eat some sushi, but I'm not into like
- 36:19Speaker 4: the exotics like eel or something like that.
- 36:22Speaker 6: It was probably my really Yeah.
- 36:24Speaker 11: Fish eggs on top. I'll do anything.
- 36:26Speaker 6: Il avocado rolls is one of my go toska my.
- 36:29Speaker 10: Favorite spicy tuna with like a hot sauce and fish eggs.
- 36:38Speaker 6: Yeah, spicy tuna is great, obviously classic, but elo, what
- 36:42Speaker 6: I like about the eel is that it's it's smoked,
- 36:44Speaker 6: so it's like cooked a little bit, so it's not
- 36:46Speaker 6: fully raw.
- 36:47Speaker 4: So that that thought.
- 36:49Speaker 6: So that's why I like it, because I don't love
- 36:52Speaker 6: the raw stuff. Like I'll eat all of it, but
- 36:53Speaker 6: it's not my favorite.
- 36:55Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, yeah, good sushi talk. I can take it.
- 36:59Speaker 7: I can take all, right.
- 37:02Speaker 4: Pete Carroll, So somebody brought this to my attention. I
- 37:07Speaker 4: don't know if it's true or not, but it's interesting
- 37:10Speaker 4: with all the comments about Pete Carroll being interested in
- 37:14Speaker 4: going to the Bears, he said, there wasn't one comment
- 37:17Speaker 4: he's too old, and yet he's older than Bill Belichick,
- 37:21Speaker 4: and every a lot of people were saying Bill Belichick's
- 37:24Speaker 4: too old, right, And it just shows you that like perception, I.
- 37:28Speaker 6: Think a lot of Bears fans feel that way.
- 37:30Speaker 5: Though, yeare a Bears fan.
- 37:33Speaker 10: Yeah, Carol doesn't look his age though amazing.
- 37:36Speaker 5: Great, like unbelievable condition, But I would if I were Bears.
- 37:40Speaker 5: I'm with Evan. If I were a Bears fan, I'd
- 37:42Speaker 5: be saying he's too old. Yeah, I don't want a
- 37:44Speaker 5: guy to do it for another two years if it works.
- 37:46Speaker 6: Yeah, we were just talking about Kendra, so she she's
- 37:48Speaker 6: a Jaguars fan, and she said that this isn't a
- 37:51Speaker 6: retirement home, right, like they she didn't wanted nothing to
- 37:53Speaker 6: do with it. Yeah, Pete Carroll or any any of those
- 37:56Speaker 6: older coaches, because exact that exact point, like even if
- 37:59Speaker 6: it works.
- 37:59Speaker 5: Even if it works, how long is it working for?
- 38:01Speaker 5: Like it has to be like a super Bowl for
- 38:03Speaker 5: it to work and be worth it.
- 38:04Speaker 7: Right.
- 38:06Speaker 8: Yep?
- 38:07Speaker 4: Okay, let's get to the tp X hutline eight five
- 38:10Speaker 4: to five, Pats five hundred. Uh Deshaun's in West Virginia.
- 38:14Speaker 4: What's up to Seaan.
- 38:20Speaker 12: Good?
- 38:22Speaker 13: I would like to say, like, first of all, I
- 38:23Speaker 13: would not like for them to win the two games
- 38:25Speaker 13: for a reason, because, like I told you, I want
- 38:27Speaker 13: it's funny to be fulfilled. But also when it comes
- 38:29Speaker 13: to give it credit to the rest of these teams.
- 38:31Speaker 13: Not to sound like a hater, but the league sucks
- 38:35Speaker 13: for the most part. I mean like there's only about
- 38:37Speaker 13: a good few teams or whatever, and you have a
- 38:39Speaker 13: lot of quarterback. Yeah, they're talented, but they can't really
- 38:42Speaker 13: decide what plays behind a lot of the scrimmers. They
- 38:43Speaker 13: can't read coverages or whatever. So it's going to show
- 38:46Speaker 13: that with the QB for Houston when he was an
- 38:50Speaker 13: acre or whatever. You know, he can he can lay
- 38:53Speaker 13: the ball on three receivers, but he looked flueless as well.
- 38:56Speaker 13: It's like a lot of those quarterbacks, they're really talented,
- 38:59Speaker 13: but they don't have the skills recovers. Is like that
- 39:03Speaker 13: let your special like Lebron Jackson, where you could be
- 39:05Speaker 13: their such to the rule, but the league suck for
- 39:08Speaker 13: the most part. That's all I really wanted to say.
- 39:09Speaker 4: Okay, thanks to Shawn.
- 39:11Speaker 5: I'm just gonna say this is probably like the twenty
- 39:14Speaker 5: fourth year in a row life, how bad the league is,
- 39:18Speaker 5: and the league sucks. There's no good teams. There's like
- 39:20Speaker 5: four good teams in the league, and it just seems
- 39:22Speaker 5: like every we changed the names of.
- 39:23Speaker 4: The teams yeah, you and Andy have been saying it
- 39:26Speaker 4: for years.
- 39:26Speaker 5: Every year, everybody complains that the league stinks.
- 39:29Speaker 6: Or that the quarterbacks can't read coverages anymore. That's a
- 39:32Speaker 6: common one too.
- 39:33Speaker 4: I think this year there are I don't know, I
- 39:35Speaker 4: haven't done the study, but it seems like there's more
- 39:38Speaker 4: teams than normal that have really bad record.
- 39:42Speaker 6: There's all go back. We were talking about it last
- 39:44Speaker 6: week that if the Patriots win some games down the stretch,
- 39:47Speaker 6: they can go from like one to nine, you know
- 39:49Speaker 6: in the draft order, just by winning a game, because
- 39:52Speaker 6: there's a lot of three four win teams.
- 39:54Speaker 5: Or Raiders just went from two to six. I think
- 39:57Speaker 5: you one win.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Do you think we're trending more towards that way or
- 40:01Speaker 4: do you think this is an anomaly in terms of
- 40:04Speaker 4: the record thing, because I really do think there's a talent,
- 40:08Speaker 4: a lack of good talent. I think the talent pool
- 40:11Speaker 4: is diminishing, and it's starting from youth football on up.
- 40:15Speaker 6: I think there's an issue right now with finding that
- 40:18Speaker 6: middle ground of practice time versus what the NFLPA has
- 40:23Speaker 6: been bargaining for, which is, you know, less contact and
- 40:27Speaker 6: things like that, and if you want to develop line
- 40:29Speaker 6: play if you want to develop the offensive lines.
- 40:32Speaker 5: And get guys that play the line, you gotta get
- 40:35Speaker 5: guys that have paraphrase.
- 40:36Speaker 6: You got to get you got to get the guys
- 40:37Speaker 6: in the pads right like you gotta you gotta hit
- 40:40Speaker 6: like you can't you're not going to develop tackles.
- 40:42Speaker 4: So and so then the reasoning would be that there's
- 40:46Speaker 4: teams the better teams just because of talent, don't need
- 40:50Speaker 4: as much of that development.
- 40:51Speaker 5: Can I ask a question and about this that you're
- 40:55Speaker 5: you're bringing up because you think that the talent pool
- 40:57Speaker 5: in general is smaller, it's shrinking, it's shrinking, and I
- 41:00Speaker 5: have nothing to deny that, like I have nothing to
- 41:03Speaker 5: combat that. But why would that mean there are more
- 41:06Speaker 5: teams with really bad records?
- 41:08Speaker 4: Because I think that you know, across the board, there's
- 41:14Speaker 4: a big drop off from their best players to their
- 41:17Speaker 4: when they get deeper like that.
- 41:19Speaker 5: I would understand if you said, like that's why the
- 41:21Speaker 5: league the overall, like Deshaun's point was, the league is
- 41:24Speaker 5: not very strong right now. The caliber of play is
- 41:27Speaker 5: not great in the league.
- 41:29Speaker 4: The middle class isn't good.
- 41:30Speaker 5: So if you have the no, no, no, but you're
- 41:31Speaker 5: saying there's no talent in the league, so that that
- 41:34Speaker 5: should be widespread. Well, there's less talent, so why so, right,
- 41:37Speaker 5: because all the good players are on two teams.
- 41:39Speaker 4: All the good players are on some of the teams,
- 41:42Speaker 4: and those teams are able to combat the fact that
- 41:45Speaker 4: the rest of their roster isn't as good as it
- 41:47Speaker 4: used to be because their studs are that much better.
- 41:50Speaker 5: Yeah. I don't think that that's accurate, Okay, I mean
- 41:53Speaker 5: I do think your other point is extremely accurate. I
- 41:57Speaker 5: think that there the talent pool is diminishing, and I
- 42:00Speaker 5: think that part of it is COVID because there's so
- 42:03Speaker 5: many kids that are in school for you know how
- 42:06Speaker 5: many different you hear Cam Rising is going back to
- 42:09Speaker 5: Utah for like a seventh year. Yeah, I mean in
- 42:12Speaker 5: Nil too, like and il makes it worth their while
- 42:15Speaker 5: to stay now, So I do think.
- 42:17Speaker 4: But eventually they come out, No, I know, but.
- 42:19Speaker 5: Like you're seeing, I think a sort of a diminished
- 42:23Speaker 5: pool right now because instead of all those underclassmen, what
- 42:27Speaker 5: was it like two years ago, three years ago, there
- 42:29Speaker 5: was like one hundred over one hundred underclassmen and that
- 42:32Speaker 5: number got cut by like a like two thirds.
- 42:34Speaker 4: So you think eventually it'll it'll probably.
- 42:37Speaker 5: Catch up and even off. But I don't think that
- 42:38Speaker 5: that explains why there are really good records and really
- 42:42Speaker 5: bad records and there's like no middle class, because I
- 42:45Speaker 5: don't think that that would manifest itself. Like is it
- 42:48Speaker 5: rational to suggest there's not as many good players but
- 42:50Speaker 5: they're all in Kansas City in Baltimore, right, Like No,
- 42:55Speaker 5: like if the league, if the talent is down, it's
- 42:57Speaker 5: down across the league. That doesn't explain the disparity in
- 43:00Speaker 5: records because there are You're right about the amount of
- 43:03Speaker 5: three and twelve teams is huge.
- 43:05Speaker 4: But didn't it seem like years ago, like the really
- 43:09Speaker 4: you know, really good players, there were more really good
- 43:12Speaker 4: players and now yeah, and now there's less really good players,
- 43:17Speaker 4: you know, to eat it to bring records up.
- 43:20Speaker 6: I definitely think the nil thing is a factor because
- 43:23Speaker 6: we see it in the draft. Every single year. The
- 43:25Speaker 6: draft gets thinner and thinner because all these underclassmen are
- 43:28Speaker 6: getting paid to go back to college and so a
- 43:31Speaker 6: lot of these players are going back to college and
- 43:34Speaker 6: playing and holding off on the pros and and so
- 43:37Speaker 6: you're getting to the point now where really the draft
- 43:40Speaker 6: is like four or five rounds deep. And then once
- 43:42Speaker 6: you get to like the fifth, sixth, seventh round, those
- 43:45Speaker 6: guys would be like udfas in other years, but they're
- 43:48Speaker 6: now getting drafted earlier because there's not enough talent and
- 43:53Speaker 6: you know, depth in the draft.
- 43:54Speaker 5: I mean, it's probably a bigger topic than just sort
- 43:57Speaker 5: of shooting something off the top of your head.
- 43:59Speaker 7: Oh yeah, do you think it ever.
- 44:00Speaker 4: Could get to the day where kids make so much
- 44:03Speaker 4: money in their college career they say, you know what,
- 44:05Speaker 4: I don't need to go them stuff for deal with
- 44:07Speaker 4: all that. I'll just go into now my second career
- 44:10Speaker 4: because I've got money in the bank. I could probably
- 44:13Speaker 4: retire now if I wanted to, but I'll I'll do
- 44:16Speaker 4: something that you know, I really enjoy without having to
- 44:18Speaker 4: beat my brains in really interesting, you.
- 44:20Speaker 10: Know, really imagine like you just leave college with like
- 44:24Speaker 10: a step then you start investing in like real estate
- 44:28Speaker 10: or something, and you just never have to.
- 44:29Speaker 5: Work again, especially if if you're you know, a reasonably
- 44:33Speaker 5: you know, well rounded person, you have other interests in
- 44:36Speaker 5: the ability to do that.
- 44:38Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 44:39Speaker 4: I just want.
- 44:41Speaker 9: Bringing training camp practices back to a level where they
- 44:44Speaker 9: become more padded, more a little bit more aggressive, Like
- 44:46Speaker 9: if we lose one of those three preseason games. Is
- 44:48Speaker 9: there any world that they start to ramp back up
- 44:52Speaker 9: with the intensity in practice. It's it's hard for me
- 44:54Speaker 9: to say that they ever will go back to anything.
- 44:56Speaker 6: I always say that I really feel like there's a
- 45:00Speaker 6: place for a developmental spring league that would allow NFL players.
- 45:06Speaker 6: Not we're not talking about sending Drake made to the
- 45:08Speaker 6: spring league, but we're talking about sending you know, we're
- 45:11Speaker 6: talking earlier about Lacita Smith, right, you know players like
- 45:14Speaker 6: that where those guys go to a developmental league, don't play.
- 45:18Speaker 6: You don't have to play seventeen games, right like you
- 45:20Speaker 6: can go and play, you know, have shorter seasons. But
- 45:23Speaker 6: that would allow especially with with the trenches, you know,
- 45:26Speaker 6: the offensive and defensive line play live reps for some
- 45:30Speaker 6: of these guys. So to Fred's point, to develop the
- 45:33Speaker 6: depth of the league, you know, develop go have some
- 45:36Speaker 6: backup quarterbacks play in that league too, and how you
- 45:38Speaker 6: develop the backup so when the starters get hurt, there's
- 45:41Speaker 6: not this huge drop off from the from the starter
- 45:44Speaker 6: to the backup, so you still have a competent game
- 45:47Speaker 6: that you're putting out there on a Sunday. I don't
- 45:49Speaker 6: know how that works with injury risk and all that
- 45:51Speaker 6: kind of stuff like that's for lawyers and stuff to
- 45:53Speaker 6: figure out, but I think they would really benefit from
- 45:57Speaker 6: just thinking about some of these guys that have been
- 45:59Speaker 6: on the practice squad all year long, that haven't done anything,
- 46:02Speaker 6: probably really in months, you know, Caleb Jones, Like how
- 46:06Speaker 6: much how many reps could Caleb Jones possibly be getting
- 46:09Speaker 6: in a Patriots practice right now where he's developing, you know,
- 46:14Speaker 6: as a player, and now if he's called upon, he's
- 46:16Speaker 6: just kind of thrown into the fire of you know,
- 46:18Speaker 6: figure it out. So I just that that could be
- 46:22Speaker 6: another possibility, like one of these spring leagues, XFL whatever,
- 46:26Speaker 6: and let some of those NFL guys go play in.
- 46:28Speaker 9: The Like could you get maybe a committee of former
- 46:30Speaker 9: NFL coaches like positionally where you establish a program like
- 46:34Speaker 9: you know, just it's not individual teams even coaching the players.
- 46:37Speaker 9: It's like, we want to put everybody into this development
- 46:40Speaker 9: system so that you know, just for the good of
- 46:41Speaker 9: the game. It's not so much about competitive advantages. It's
- 46:44Speaker 9: about you know, let's get Dante s. Cornecki in and say, look,
- 46:46Speaker 9: this is what we need to teach these guys to,
- 46:48Speaker 9: you know, run wide zone and to you know, all
- 46:50Speaker 9: the different schemes that they need to be able to
- 46:51Speaker 9: maybe fit in, and we're going to give them in
- 46:53Speaker 9: the offseason a really intensive education and experience.
- 46:56Speaker 4: You bring up Dante is one of the issues now
- 46:59Speaker 4: in the league. Good coaching, sure, particularly the head could be.
- 47:03Speaker 10: One of Tom Brady's biggest criticisms is that the league's
- 47:07Speaker 10: kind of dumbed down. So something like Evan saying, it's
- 47:10Speaker 10: not only working on the physical aspects of the game,
- 47:12Speaker 10: but I think any advantage you can get intellectually too
- 47:15Speaker 10: would really help the product.
- 47:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I've been coaching is the problem. I think there
- 47:19Speaker 5: are more good quarterbacks in the league than there are
- 47:21Speaker 5: good head coaches.
- 47:22Speaker 6: Yeah, I disagree with the caller on the I don't
- 47:25Speaker 6: c J Stroud's problems that he can't read the field.
- 47:28Speaker 6: His problem is this his accuracy has taken a big
- 47:30Speaker 6: hit this year and he hasn't been But I.
- 47:32Speaker 5: Would also say, like the league in general, like yesterday,
- 47:35Speaker 5: there were two duds. They were two They were two
- 47:38Speaker 5: games that weren't overly competitive, and that happens, and unfortunately
- 47:42Speaker 5: they were in the national window for everybody to see.
- 47:45Speaker 5: They were exclusive games and it's it's lousy. You know
- 47:50Speaker 5: what if it was like the week before you had
- 47:53Speaker 5: the the Chiefs in the Texans game that was a
- 47:57Speaker 5: really good game, like just you know the Saturday before,
- 48:01Speaker 5: like that was a really good game that went down
- 48:03Speaker 5: to the last possession. Yeah, you know that was a
- 48:06Speaker 5: good game.
- 48:07Speaker 9: That's what's just gotta be alarming, is that on paper
- 48:09Speaker 9: going in, let's look like two good teams are you know,
- 48:11Speaker 9: four teams on in the mix?
- 48:12Speaker 5: Like and turnovers made both games sort of non competitive. Yeah,
- 48:17Speaker 5: it was, it happened.
- 48:18Speaker 4: It was a good card, as they say, going in,
- 48:21Speaker 4: you would.
- 48:21Speaker 5: Have thought at least the Pittsburgh game would have been
- 48:23Speaker 5: much more competitive. I mean maybe Houston's kind of Houston's
- 48:27Speaker 5: kind of beat up and just doesn't seem like it
- 48:28Speaker 5: has it this year. And Stroud is part of that. Like,
- 48:31Speaker 5: you know, Stroud hasn't played as well this year as
- 48:33Speaker 5: he did last year.
- 48:35Speaker 4: After John's in La what's up John Marine sneaking up
- 48:38Speaker 4: on the back.
- 48:38Speaker 14: Hey guys, Hey, Merry Christmas, Happy holidays.
- 48:43Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you, good thanks.
- 48:46Speaker 14: I once recommend, like three hundred and sixty days in
- 48:48Speaker 14: advance of next Christmas, the movie The ref with Dennis Leary,
- 48:52Speaker 14: Judy David Ken's Basey.
- 48:53Speaker 13: It's a great Christmas.
- 48:54Speaker 4: Movie that nobody talks about the ref Okay.
- 48:58Speaker 14: It's excellent, all right. So I have a quick note
- 49:03Speaker 14: for the podcast. Only I know because in video we
- 49:06Speaker 14: can see when Deuce and.
- 49:08Speaker 15: An egg and come back.
- 49:10Speaker 14: But for the podcast, it's important to not fit that
- 49:13Speaker 14: they're back. Let the song be the.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Interest I see, Okay, whose music is that? But I
- 49:20Speaker 4: have to tell Matt that we're ready to go.
- 49:22Speaker 14: Somehow, all of a sudden the theme song comes on.
- 49:24Speaker 4: Okay, all right, and add a girl.
- 49:28Speaker 14: For Alex because the PU newsletter it's fantastic, and thank
- 49:31Speaker 14: you so much for all the hard work.
- 49:32Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 49:34Speaker 14: And a boy from Marine Matt for being phenomenal all
- 49:37Speaker 14: the time, for all the work he puts into those
- 49:40Speaker 14: free you know, the highlight reels from the previous thing.
- 49:45Speaker 14: I don't want to plead to the craft to please
- 49:48Speaker 14: from now on, let the PU crew be in charge
- 49:51Speaker 14: of drafting receivers, because I swear to God, it's just
- 49:53Speaker 14: twenty years that you guys are always much better at
- 49:56Speaker 14: drafts receivers and the scouts.
- 49:58Speaker 16: Steem to be.
- 50:00Speaker 4: It's crazy, isn't it so I don't know how they do,
- 50:02Speaker 4: but there's no guarantee that you know, if they pick
- 50:06Speaker 4: Lad McConkie like he would do.
- 50:08Speaker 5: Well, here's see. That's my question is how much of
- 50:11Speaker 5: this is about who they're picking, right? How much of
- 50:13Speaker 5: it is about who they're developing, right or how they're developed?
- 50:17Speaker 14: Complicated? Yeah, complicated that I'm saying. Not that much more
- 50:22Speaker 14: complicated than I'm saying. And you guys seem to always have,
- 50:27Speaker 14: you know, a sense. I don't know why we're waiting
- 50:29Speaker 14: millions of dollars.
- 50:30Speaker 4: Well, Fred, part of part of the deal is we
- 50:33Speaker 4: not only do we get to pick them, we have
- 50:35Speaker 4: to be at practice to make sure that they're treating
- 50:37Speaker 4: them correctly.
- 50:38Speaker 9: Using them, employeing that you're proud of them.
- 50:42Speaker 4: Right, all right, thanks John, thanks for the call.
- 50:45Speaker 5: Appreciate it, Fred, Fred is I'm gonna watch Whisper. Yes,
- 50:51Speaker 5: I'm just gonna wait to see who Frank. If we
- 50:53Speaker 5: had Jordan Jefferson it was his name justin right, you
- 50:57Speaker 5: might know.
- 51:01Speaker 7: Jefferson.
- 51:03Speaker 6: McMillan.
- 51:05Speaker 4: M yeah, McMillan.
- 51:10Speaker 6: It's not for me, it's for Mike.
- 51:13Speaker 4: All right, Let's get to some podcasts at Patriots dot Com.

- 51:50Speaker 11: We might be able to make it happen.
- 51:51Speaker 4: You definitely want to get the newsletter. It's part of
- 51:53Speaker 4: the fun all right podcast said. Patriots dot com is
- 51:56Speaker 4: the email addressed Sam from Saint Catharine's is writing in.
- 52:01Speaker 4: He says two thoughts on team building. One a pet
- 52:05Speaker 4: peeve I have is when people talk about what team
- 52:07Speaker 4: should do in the draft before free agency happens. There's
- 52:10Speaker 4: so much that can happen that people overlook. I see
- 52:13Speaker 4: all the time people say draft to tackle, then go
- 52:15Speaker 4: out your receivers and free agency. Free agency happens first,
- 52:19Speaker 4: well it kind of does, but free agency is throughout.
- 52:22Speaker 4: But anyway, I get its point.
- 52:23Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, you got to.
- 52:26Speaker 6: Plan ahead, Like you gotta know what your offseason plan.
- 52:28Speaker 6: You got to read the board, you gotta know the personnel,
- 52:31Speaker 6: Like could sign a tackle in free agency?
- 52:32Speaker 7: Who?
- 52:33Speaker 6: Like, who are you gonna sign? So if you're Elliott Wolf,
- 52:36Speaker 6: you have to look at it and say, there are
- 52:37Speaker 6: no tackles in free agency. So I gotta get my
- 52:40Speaker 6: receiver in free agency, and then I got to get
- 52:41Speaker 6: the tackle in the draft.
- 52:43Speaker 4: Yep, second pet peeve. I guess is I have a
- 52:46Speaker 4: hard time with the notion that the fastest way to
- 52:50Speaker 4: rebuild a team is to bolster the trenches. I'm not
- 52:53Speaker 4: discounting the importance, but I think one elite receiver is
- 52:56Speaker 4: more impactful than one elite offensive lineman. I can't wrap
- 52:59Speaker 4: my brain around the thought that Pennay Sewell would have
- 53:02Speaker 4: been a greater impact on this current team than Jamar
- 53:05Speaker 4: Chase would. For a great line, you need five. You
- 53:07Speaker 4: don't need five above average skill guys. What do you
- 53:12Speaker 4: think about that an elite lineman versus an elite wide receiver.
- 53:18Speaker 6: I'll take you the one to chicken or the egg debate.
- 53:22Speaker 6: I mean, look, I think when you have two guys
- 53:24Speaker 6: like Jamar Chas and Penney Sewell, you couldn't go wrong
- 53:27Speaker 6: with either one of those players because they're both elite.
- 53:29Speaker 4: Right.
- 53:29Speaker 6: It's it's more of a question of you know, you
- 53:32Speaker 6: think that tackles a little bit better, but you think
- 53:35Speaker 6: the receiver is gonna have a bigger impact. That's when
- 53:37Speaker 6: I really feel like the debate kind of gets into play.
- 53:40Speaker 6: But I don't know. I mean, the teams that are
- 53:42Speaker 6: good now have great offensive lines, right, both of.
- 53:45Speaker 5: Those positions too, Like you have that great individual and
- 53:49Speaker 5: it makes the others better. Like, so you don't necessarily
- 53:53Speaker 5: need five. If you have one great tackle, he's going
- 53:56Speaker 5: to make that guard a lot better. That happens a lot.
- 54:00Speaker 5: And certainly, you know you have that top dog wide receiver.
- 54:03Speaker 5: He makes the guys under him, you know, gives them
- 54:05Speaker 5: more space he gets allows them to get open more
- 54:07Speaker 5: and make more plays. So Evan's right, Like, if you
- 54:10Speaker 5: have an elite guy, it almost doesn't matter.
- 54:13Speaker 8: You know.
- 54:14Speaker 5: It's not like you have an elite kicker and you know,
- 54:17Speaker 5: a bad wide receiver. Obviously you'd rather have the wide receiver.
- 54:20Speaker 8: Right.
- 54:21Speaker 4: Darren from New Brunswick, Canada, I'm in agreement with Evan
- 54:24Speaker 4: regards to full pad practice. That said, there's a school
- 54:28Speaker 4: of thought with many trainers of professional fighters in various
- 54:31Speaker 4: fight leagues that they engage in less full contact sparring
- 54:34Speaker 4: due to its toll on the body. Although I see
- 54:36Speaker 4: the wisdom in that, I don't think that carries over
- 54:39Speaker 4: to the NFL. Perfect practice makes perfect sense, he says.
- 54:44Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 54:45Speaker 6: I don't know enough about you know, boxing and stuff
- 54:49Speaker 6: to make the comparison. But I just think that it's
- 54:52Speaker 6: live reps or live reps, like if you're an offensive tackle.
- 54:55Speaker 6: I just don't know how you're really going to truly
- 54:58Speaker 6: develop your your craft if you're not actually blocking at
- 55:03Speaker 6: at least ninety percent of what you're going to be
- 55:05Speaker 6: doing in a game. I'm sure there aren't little things
- 55:08Speaker 6: that you can work on, you know, hand placement and
- 55:10Speaker 6: feet and things like that, But until you're actually in
- 55:13Speaker 6: it and are getting you know, rushed like you're going
- 55:16Speaker 6: to in an NFL game, I think it's kind of hard.
- 55:19Speaker 4: Okay, Dustin in North Carolina rites in. I believe this
- 55:23Speaker 4: topic has been talked about before, but I forget where
- 55:25Speaker 4: the example, what the examples were. I think it would
- 55:27Speaker 4: be fun to bring them back up. Here are my
- 55:30Speaker 4: takes and what the punishment for last place in the
- 55:33Speaker 4: Picks contest would be. So if your last night the punishment,
- 55:37Speaker 4: Paul has to admit Fred is right for the whole show,
- 55:39Speaker 4: that's your punishment. Mike has to wear a scuba suit
- 55:42Speaker 4: with a hood for the whole show. That would be
- 55:46Speaker 4: the old g I Joe. Fred has to order a
- 55:50Speaker 4: steak well done for lunch. That would be such punishment.
- 55:54Speaker 4: Evan has to go a whole show without talking football.
- 55:58Speaker 4: I think that's impossible to torture. And Alex has to
- 56:03Speaker 4: go the whole video show without be without being camera ready.
- 56:08Speaker 7: That's mean.
- 56:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that's tough.
- 56:11Speaker 9: But if you just really ugly it up, like try to.
- 56:13Speaker 10: I feel like I've never dulled up on the show,
- 56:15Speaker 10: which is the ironic part the effort.
- 56:19Speaker 4: Humble Brad, Humble Brad.
- 56:25Speaker 5: You get a little mumbling under does we sit.
- 56:28Speaker 11: Next to each other now? So we've got a little
- 56:33Speaker 11: little synergy going on.
- 56:34Speaker 9: That's why I used your blanket while you were in here.
- 56:36Speaker 9: He was cold, he had to bundle up, he was
- 56:38Speaker 9: he was freezing.
- 56:40Speaker 4: That's going on in my house. The whole thermostat thing
- 56:42Speaker 4: is just my mother in law's.
- 56:44Speaker 9: There and what you have said it that on eight.
- 56:47Speaker 4: Normally it's I have it at sixty seven. But we
- 56:51Speaker 4: have these, you know, mini splits. So if you're in
- 56:53Speaker 4: a room and it's a little chilly, you know, you
- 56:55Speaker 4: hit that and you heat it up a little bit.
- 56:57Speaker 10: But now the house is just like boiling, and the
- 56:59Speaker 10: mini splits are brutal because it's.
- 57:01Speaker 9: Just like hot air. Yeah, I hate that.
- 57:04Speaker 4: So yeah, I'm turning him down. They're turning it up.
- 57:06Speaker 4: It's it's like a whole.
- 57:07Speaker 8: Thing going on.
- 57:09Speaker 4: It's a whole thing Career Enthusiasm episode, that's a boomer.
- 57:14Speaker 6: Thing, that's literally his life. Sometimes I feel like it's
- 57:18Speaker 6: like an episode of Curb. You tell your story, but.
- 57:21Speaker 5: This whole this whole stadium is cold. Oh it's I
- 57:26Speaker 5: don't know what's going on, freezing. They're freezing right. Yeah,
- 57:31Speaker 5: it's not just the studio. It's cold everywhere in the.
- 57:35Speaker 1: Toe and handwarmers in here.
- 57:36Speaker 4: If anybody needs well, listen, it's all we need to
- 57:40Speaker 4: spend more in the off season. We're saving money now
- 57:42Speaker 4: on the electric bill.
- 57:43Speaker 5: Okay, So.
- 57:46Speaker 4: David Maine rights in. I've never been a tank for
- 57:49Speaker 4: draft position guy, but if we go from second overall
- 57:51Speaker 4: to eighth all because of one game. I might change
- 57:54Speaker 4: my mind. With that said, in the last game, wouldn't
- 57:57Speaker 4: mind seeing a little Joe Milton in the second half.
- 58:00Speaker 4: And by the way, my best Christmas gift this year
- 58:02Speaker 4: was a Drake made jersey. However, I did get a
- 58:05Speaker 4: mac jersey after his first year, and we all know
- 58:07Speaker 4: how that turned out. So I hope the same thing
- 58:10Speaker 4: doesn't happen. But yeah, I don't care about the Milton thing.
- 58:18Speaker 5: I get why people would be really disappointed if they
- 58:22Speaker 5: made a big drop down you drop five or six
- 58:24Speaker 5: spots with with one wing.
- 58:26Speaker 9: Which seems like what would happen with the Bills, right
- 58:28Speaker 9: if the Bills aren't paying for anything and they win
- 58:30Speaker 9: that game.
- 58:30Speaker 5: Which would make it even worse it happened to be
- 58:32Speaker 5: that game and the Bills aren't trying.
- 58:34Speaker 9: Let's see reduce in the postgame show.
- 58:36Speaker 5: I even think it's kind of too late to have
- 58:39Speaker 5: that whole like, oh, you can finish the season strong
- 58:42Speaker 5: and catapults.
- 58:43Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, we had our films.
- 58:46Speaker 5: If they needed to do that in the last five
- 58:47Speaker 5: or six weeks.
- 58:48Speaker 9: Now it's like, literally downside, I just want Kateen Wallace
- 58:50Speaker 9: to play. I think that might be like my only
- 58:52Speaker 9: thing laught.
- 58:53Speaker 7: Yeah, right, tackle that's.
- 58:55Speaker 4: On the kind of reminds us we're all dying to
- 58:59Speaker 4: know if you've got the Lego orca.
- 59:05Speaker 5: I asked him first thing this morning, Chris.
- 59:11Speaker 9: It was the most old man Christmas I've ever had.
- 59:12Speaker 9: Already talked about the pillow. I got slippers, two button
- 59:16Speaker 9: down shirts, a pot, as Alex mentioned as well, love everything,
- 59:20Speaker 9: but toys, not that kind of pot.
- 59:24Speaker 4: Everyone's like cited and you know, and it'll happen.
- 59:27Speaker 5: I know legos take that insurance commercial.
- 59:32Speaker 9: I'm also shout out to myro if we got tickets
- 59:34Speaker 9: to a Providence Bruins game. We're all gonna go for
- 59:36Speaker 9: a little Providence Bruins hockey team in January.
- 59:39Speaker 6: So that was Matthew Potra down there. I'll just got
- 59:42Speaker 6: it out for and use the other guy, Georgie Markolov. Yeah,
- 59:48Speaker 6: Russian Fabian Lazo.
- 59:50Speaker 4: Called the game for the Provinct.
- 59:51Speaker 9: Oh really, Now I'm able to get some food down there,
- 59:54Speaker 9: Providence wonderful dining down there.
- 59:56Speaker 4: Yeah, get some Italian What time do you guys need
- 59:59Speaker 4: to go to the locker room?
- 1:00:00Speaker 6: One ten, one.
- 1:00:01Speaker 9: Ten, okay, and then we'll be back by one thirty.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: Okay, Chris and Colfax, California. You know Coldfax.
- 1:00:08Speaker 7: I know the street, and not that I think you've
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: asked me that before.
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: Now this is a town I know. Here's my plan
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: to begin to fix the Patriots offense. First, signed T Higgins. Next,
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: assuming draft picks finish as is, trade down from two
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: to six with the Raiders for six a twenty twenty
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: five second, and Michael Mayer. Take Kelvin Banks with the
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: first and trade back up into the late first and
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: take Luther Burden from Missouri. I like Luth. I think
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: these moves would help put things around Drake may to
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: succeed now and in the future.
- 1:00:39Speaker 7: And I like him. I like Boxes.
- 1:00:41Speaker 5: I like that trade.
- 1:00:42Speaker 6: I'm not sure that I can make it happen.
- 1:00:43Speaker 5: I'm off there. I'm not sure the Raiders do, but
- 1:00:45Speaker 5: I do like that trade.
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: Little Michael Mayor, though, wouldn't be bad.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: You like, Yeah, he's kind of a little little Hunter
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: Henry Ish, you know, like well rounded but not overly
- 1:00:56Speaker 6: explosive receiver, but reliable.
- 1:00:58Speaker 9: Gives you something young behind Hunter instead, I mean I do, Okay,
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: going back to Hooper, I think he's had a pretty.
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: D I don't know what the answer to this question is.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: Does anybody know, like what exactly was the deal with
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: Mayor this year? I know you missed some games like
- 1:01:08Speaker 5: personal he was out for what like is there something
- 1:01:11Speaker 5: long term?
- 1:01:12Speaker 9: I don't know about that getting overshadowed.
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: No, but I think that's a great situation for the Raiders.
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: I mean you can have all kinds of two tight
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: end sets with with two different kinds of players too.
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: Yeah, El from Wisconsin. Did I just hear Evans say
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: tech McMillan can't get open? Does he also have questionable hands?
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: I think I'm smelling a Patriots pick.
- 1:01:35Speaker 6: I was being like a little facetious about that, but
- 1:01:38Speaker 6: also not at the same time. I've seen atle you know,
- 1:01:41Speaker 6: like if you if you have to like go and
- 1:01:43Speaker 6: win like a jump ball in college, and that's like
- 1:01:46Speaker 6: that's how you.
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: Win down the field otherwise known as Aaron Dobson.
- 1:01:49Speaker 6: I'm just like, like, you know, Luther Burden, on the
- 1:01:52Speaker 6: other hand, that guy gets open speed.
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: I just thought, I mean, that's I've said it before.
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: I want speed.
- 1:01:57Speaker 9: I'm not ever been a big fan of the contested
- 1:01:59Speaker 9: receiver guys, you know, even when they're being sold is
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: like really good at it.
- 1:02:02Speaker 7: It's like, but is it sustainable?
- 1:02:04Speaker 6: You know, like the only right, Like everybody brings with
- 1:02:07Speaker 6: Tech McMillan brings up Mike Evans, and I'm just like, look,
- 1:02:09Speaker 6: I watched Mike Evans at Texas A and m that
- 1:02:12Speaker 6: was a different breed of football player. Like that guy, Yeah,
- 1:02:15Speaker 6: that guy was an unreal college player. Like, that's not
- 1:02:18Speaker 6: We're not talking about that with Tech McMillan, Drake London.
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: You know, those types of players like maybe a little
- 1:02:24Speaker 6: bit too Higgins in them. Honestly, you know, like that
- 1:02:27Speaker 6: those kind of comps I think are fair.
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: Brandon writes in he says, I kept telling myself there
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: was no way a team as flawed as Kansas City
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: would win the Super Bowl. But that's a really good
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: team in this league, and we have to acknowledge that.
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: This is the same way we went to the Super
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: Bowl in twenty eleven and eighteen really flawed team with
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: a good quarterback in the midst of a very flawed,
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: mediocre league. I was I was thinking the same thing
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: about the eighteen team and the Patriots in that you know,
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: they had the great quarterback and they started to come
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: on later in the season, they started running the ball better.
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: Whatever they needed to do, they started doing better later
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: in the season, and I think the Chiefs are the
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: same way. Their defense has been playing well throughout. Now
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: looks like the offense is starting to get into gear
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: a little bit.
- 1:03:12Speaker 9: I just I mean, it's really hard to bet against
- 1:03:14Speaker 9: Patrick Mahomes. I mean, that's like you ought to respect
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: what they've done. But at the same time, can a
- 1:03:18Speaker 9: team get them into a shootout? You know, can a
- 1:03:20Speaker 9: team get them where it's points back and forth and
- 1:03:22Speaker 9: they've got a beat on the defense and you know,
- 1:03:24Speaker 9: really put some pressure on that Chief's offerense to break thirty.
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: I mean that's probably oversimplifying it.
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: But they just know how to win.
- 1:03:31Speaker 5: And to me, if it's hard to imagine, you know,
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: the Chiefs just pulling a no show in a big game.
- 1:03:39Speaker 5: So that way, to me, it comes down to it.
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: There's a handful of plays, Well who are you going
- 1:03:45Speaker 5: to bet on? Like the last people are like incredulous,
- 1:03:50Speaker 5: How does this team win all these games? You know,
- 1:03:52Speaker 5: they're so lucky and they have had a tremendous amount
- 1:03:55Speaker 5: of good fortune. I mean that field goal that that
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: Denver had blocked, that was a chip shot. It wasn't
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: like a fifty yarder. So they probably should have a
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: couple of losses that they don't. But it's not an
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: accident that he makes the play at the end of
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: every game. When have they not scored when they have
- 1:04:11Speaker 5: to score? Right, that's it, Right, that's Mahomes. That's what
- 1:04:15Speaker 5: Brady did forever. Yeah, Like you always seem like you
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: had a shot and then you're like, oh, if you
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: could just get a stop here, You're not going to
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: get that stop with Mahomes more often than not.
- 1:04:25Speaker 6: Right, does feel very eighteen Patriots to me. I mean,
- 1:04:29Speaker 6: Holmes is up much younger than Brady was at that point.
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: But even Kelsey's like kind of on his last legs,
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: like Gronk was the same way, and he.
- 1:04:36Speaker 5: Even had a good game yesterday and still kind of
- 1:04:37Speaker 5: looked down.
- 1:04:38Speaker 6: Yeah, Like even in the open like Kelsey used to
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: be unreal with the ball in his hands. He's not
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: that guy anymore after the catch, So like you see
- 1:04:45Speaker 6: some of that sort of wear and tear with the
- 1:04:47Speaker 6: rest of the roster, I would say, But like then
- 1:04:50Speaker 6: they just win these games like they.
- 1:04:51Speaker 5: That might have been one of the best offensive games
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: of the year they missed two extra points, they finally
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: would have scored thirty points.
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: Bill's in Vista, California. What's up Bill?
- 1:05:02Speaker 15: Hey, guys, let's just respond to respond to that email
- 1:05:05Speaker 15: about the cops between fighting in our football.
- 1:05:09Speaker 17: Okay, so I've actually fought professional and a professional they
- 1:05:14Speaker 17: and have the chance to coach football, albeit at the
- 1:05:17Speaker 17: high school level, but I don't really see them. I mean,
- 1:05:21Speaker 17: obviously fighting you want to limit the contact and bull
- 1:05:25Speaker 17: smartest because there's always that crazy risk hurt. I feel
- 1:05:29Speaker 17: like it's a hot higher football. But when you're hitting pads,
- 1:05:33Speaker 17: I mean, there's nothing like hitting pads the way to
- 1:05:36Speaker 17: get better. A lot of players seed that full cause.
- 1:05:39Speaker 4: That Yeah, yeah, thanks Bell. I think that's what the
- 1:05:44Speaker 4: email kind of said is he doesn't think it carries over.
- 1:05:46Speaker 9: To football and he's got to be a happy medium
- 1:05:48Speaker 9: where you're not tackling to the ground, but it's physical
- 1:05:50Speaker 9: enough that guys are.
- 1:05:51Speaker 5: I know, there's a lot of teams, a lot of programs,
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: high school whatever, that hit far far less than they
- 1:05:59Speaker 5: used to. Even the same coaches have sort of changed
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: their approaches.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: Adams in Missouri, what's up, Adam?
- 1:06:08Speaker 16: Hey, I really don't understand the whole thing with people
- 1:06:13Speaker 16: dogging on MAO for his coach coaching and all that stuff.
- 1:06:17Speaker 16: Yet it has not been perfect. But also he hasn't
- 1:06:22Speaker 16: lost the locker room. And a ton of teams that
- 1:06:25Speaker 16: are this low ring only winning a couple of games,
- 1:06:29Speaker 16: lose the locker room, and their team's not playing for
- 1:06:31Speaker 16: them every single week, players interviews and everything like that,
- 1:06:35Speaker 16: they're with them, they're holding at them, And that gives
- 1:06:38Speaker 16: me hope that he will get the seams button up
- 1:06:41Speaker 16: at the very end to actually put those as wins
- 1:06:45Speaker 16: instead of just losses.
- 1:06:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: I mean, do you have any examples of those teams
- 1:06:51Speaker 5: that have lost the locker room?
- 1:06:54Speaker 16: I mean Jacksonville with Urban Myers, I mean, that was
- 1:06:57Speaker 16: a whole scenario then just losing locker room and not
- 1:07:01Speaker 16: having it, and like, I don't know, I feel like
- 1:07:03Speaker 16: with them not losing locker room, Like even with the
- 1:07:05Speaker 16: Beyers this year, he lost the locker room. Players stopped
- 1:07:10Speaker 16: playing for him, and they just had ugly losses after
- 1:07:12Speaker 16: ugly losses.
- 1:07:13Speaker 5: Yeah, And I feel like, but you're talking about teams
- 1:07:16Speaker 5: that that their coaches got fired.
- 1:07:20Speaker 16: Yeah, And but we haven't done that because we still
- 1:07:23Speaker 16: have a locker room together.
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: Okay, well, Paul, do you think if it was that
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: bad that they might have fired Male or yeah?
- 1:07:33Speaker 5: Yeah, right, yeah, Like, I mean, so we're not urban
- 1:07:37Speaker 5: Meyer great, Like urban Meyer was one of the biggest
- 1:07:41Speaker 5: disasters in NFL coaching history. Like, we're not that right,
- 1:07:46Speaker 5: we got that going for us.
- 1:07:47Speaker 8: I guess.
- 1:07:47Speaker 4: I mean, but but what like but you know, what
- 1:07:50Speaker 4: do you really have to do to get.
- 1:07:53Speaker 5: Like how many that's what you have to do to
- 1:07:55Speaker 5: get fired after one year? In general?
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: Yeah, but there are a lot of people.
- 1:08:02Speaker 5: I just don't see examples of teams that aren't playing,
- 1:08:04Speaker 5: Like everybody said Dave Canalis is, like this guy doesn't
- 1:08:07Speaker 5: know what he's doing. He took his coach out. They're
- 1:08:08Speaker 5: playing their asses off every single week. They're not good,
- 1:08:11Speaker 5: they stink, but they are they but they play really
- 1:08:14Speaker 5: hard every week because that's what teams do.
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: There are a lot of people saying that Male should.
- 1:08:18Speaker 5: Should go, even the Jets, which had thanks playoff aspirations
- 1:08:22Speaker 5: and it's been a complete and total mess with an
- 1:08:25Speaker 5: interim coach. They're still playing hard with a forty something
- 1:08:29Speaker 5: year old quarterback who cannot play anymore. They're still competitive
- 1:08:33Speaker 5: every week. Like, I just don't think there's a lot
- 1:08:36Speaker 5: of quitting and that not in that league. It's too
- 1:08:39Speaker 5: hard to play. But there are examples in urban Meyer
- 1:08:43Speaker 5: Jacksonville twenty.
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: Would you say for a first year coach it takes
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: quitting for them to get fired after one year?
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: I mean, I think there's a lot of guys that
- 1:08:53Speaker 5: have been fired after one year and it's not because
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: not because not just because of quitting.
- 1:08:57Speaker 6: No, like urban Meyer, though, it is like that.
- 1:08:59Speaker 5: I think that's what we've all legendary.
- 1:09:01Speaker 6: We've all said that too with you know, with Girod,
- 1:09:04Speaker 6: like that urban Meyer was off the field as much
- 1:09:06Speaker 6: as it was on. Yeah, right, Like you know, we
- 1:09:09Speaker 6: always you know, make it local use like Ana Doka
- 1:09:12Speaker 6: comp right, you know, like that something like that would
- 1:09:15Speaker 6: have to happen, right, you know, and we're very very
- 1:09:18Speaker 6: far away from.
- 1:09:19Speaker 5: The bears, like we're very poorly coached. And by the way,
- 1:09:25Speaker 5: not in his first year, iba Flus, It's been there
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: for a while, right, That's why he lost his job,
- 1:09:30Speaker 5: not because they quit on how.
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: Many years did Singletary coach?
- 1:09:34Speaker 8: That was?
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: Like Singletary, I don't know now, but there's this all
- 1:09:38Speaker 5: kind huge accent was like eight to eight in his
- 1:09:41Speaker 5: one year and got fired with the Raiders, So somebody
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: that happens.
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: All right, we're gonna take a break. These guys are
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: going to head to the locker room to get what
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: they can get. They'll be back for picks. We come back.

- 1:11:41Speaker 20: Hopefully everyone had a good Christmas. Happy holidays everyone. Yesterday
- 1:11:47Speaker 20: For me it was good, you know, spend time with
- 1:11:49Speaker 20: family and watch some football. You know, I will say,
- 1:11:52Speaker 20: you know. You stay thinking about the Chargers as well, though,
- 1:11:54Speaker 20: so it was a good time to spend with family.
- 1:11:57Speaker 20: And now we're back at work. No, talk to the
- 1:11:59Speaker 20: guys a little bit about compartmentalizing. You know, when you're
- 1:12:02Speaker 20: with your family, you're with your family. But now it's
- 1:12:04Speaker 20: go time and showtime, and we have to get ready
- 1:12:06Speaker 20: to play a good football team.
- 1:12:08Speaker 8: Here Saturday, Fireway.
- 1:12:11Speaker 21: What's that balance like now going forward to all football
- 1:12:14Speaker 21: in a short week coming off the holiday, what's your
- 1:12:16Speaker 21: biggest message to that.
- 1:12:18Speaker 20: It's all about football and it's about execution. You know,
- 1:12:20Speaker 20: it's not about the weather, it's not about any of
- 1:12:22Speaker 20: those outside things. It's not about the family being in town.
- 1:12:25Speaker 20: As soon as you cross the white lines, it has
- 1:12:27Speaker 20: to be all about football. As soon as you enter
- 1:12:28Speaker 20: these doors, it has to be all about football. We're
- 1:12:31Speaker 20: here to win football games and that's what we intend
- 1:12:33Speaker 20: to do.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: How much I mean, did all of you talk to
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: the players about embracing.
- 1:12:38Speaker 5: The role of spoiling.
- 1:12:40Speaker 20: No, we've had those conversations, you know, And I would
- 1:12:44Speaker 20: also say, you know, it just goes back to whoever's
- 1:12:47Speaker 20: playing the best that day, he is going to win
- 1:12:49Speaker 20: the football game. Which you did last week or the
- 1:12:51Speaker 20: week before, it really doesn't matter. And that's the beauty
- 1:12:53Speaker 20: about this game.
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: How much work did you guys do on a lot
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: of the popet into the draft?
- 1:12:57Speaker 8: Do you remember, Yeah, we get some work on them.
- 1:12:59Speaker 20: Very you know, a guy that can get open versus
- 1:13:01Speaker 20: man and man coverage, and look, he's playing well right now.
- 1:13:03Speaker 20: He also does a good job finding space in the
- 1:13:05Speaker 20: zone coverages and he's definitely a player you got to
- 1:13:09Speaker 20: keep your eye.
- 1:13:09Speaker 22: It came to like, you know, not selecting a player
- 1:13:12Speaker 22: like that was how much was it due to his
- 1:13:13Speaker 22: position being a slow resumer?
- 1:13:15Speaker 20: Do you guys having your I mean, look, you know
- 1:13:17Speaker 20: as a whole, I would say we're always looking to
- 1:13:19Speaker 20: improve our roster. Now what position that that happens to
- 1:13:22Speaker 20: be could change on a daily basi, you know during
- 1:13:25Speaker 20: those times. So, uh, look, we got the guys that
- 1:13:28Speaker 20: we have here and our focus is just on this game.
- 1:13:31Speaker 17: Ben Brown is there?
- 1:13:33Speaker 19: Not that he didn't just to play this and then
- 1:13:36Speaker 19: projected injury.
- 1:13:37Speaker 16: You know yesterday is the same game.
- 1:13:39Speaker 8: Are you preparing for potentially.
- 1:13:41Speaker 23: Being could strength that positions?
- 1:13:42Speaker 6: How are you planning? Ben Brown soccer Frost question right now?
- 1:13:46Speaker 20: Yeah, Ben, Ben Brown's in the protocol, and you know,
- 1:13:50Speaker 20: once they go into the protocol, it's really out of
- 1:13:51Speaker 20: our hands. It's in the league's hands now and saying that,
- 1:13:54Speaker 20: you know, we have to have guys ready and so
- 1:13:56Speaker 20: you know, you think about LSD this, you think about Cole,
- 1:13:57Speaker 20: you think about those guys and they got to be
- 1:13:59Speaker 20: ready to go.
- 1:14:00Speaker 22: Okay, it's helping up the plays were playing a lot.
- 1:14:03Speaker 22: Also been listed in the same englandry for a feeling
- 1:14:05Speaker 22: most of the season, unless you feel like that's hampered
- 1:14:08Speaker 22: to Kyle Duggar, you feel the coach when he's healthy.
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: How big is that gap?
- 1:14:12Speaker 20: I don't want to get into like how big the
- 1:14:14Speaker 20: gap is. What I will say is, you know, dog
- 1:14:16Speaker 20: is obviously pushing through something and we all appreciate it.
- 1:14:19Speaker 8: Uh you know, from our.
- 1:14:20Speaker 20: Perspective, that's what football is all about this time of
- 1:14:22Speaker 20: the year. There are many people dealing with nagging injuries
- 1:14:24Speaker 20: that may or may not have to get addressed at
- 1:14:27Speaker 20: the end of the season.
- 1:14:28Speaker 8: But he's doing his best and we appreciate it.
- 1:14:30Speaker 21: Right the position you're out, obviously the first you're coaching
- 1:14:34Speaker 21: the players as you know, a staunchly defended you. But
- 1:14:37Speaker 21: also they've said we'll be seen from him as the
- 1:14:39Speaker 21: same thing we're trying to do is growing.
- 1:14:41Speaker 24: From day one to where we are now, where were
- 1:14:44Speaker 24: we want to continue to grow and what are some
- 1:14:46Speaker 24: of the things that you've grown that's at and also grown.
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: With the players that doing what you do.
- 1:14:53Speaker 20: Look, I understand the question. It's a great question. That's
- 1:14:56Speaker 20: more of a after the season type of reflection point
- 1:14:59Speaker 20: for me personally. I appreciate the players and wanting to
- 1:15:02Speaker 20: go out there and play hard every single day. I know,
- 1:15:04Speaker 20: a record sometimes it's hard, you know, when your record
- 1:15:07Speaker 20: is like this to go out here and play on
- 1:15:09Speaker 20: a down after down basis, and you know the guys
- 1:15:11Speaker 20: have been doing that.
- 1:15:12Speaker 12: You talk about compartmentalizing and for many many years know
- 1:15:15Speaker 12: where to get it better for this team or whatever
- 1:15:19Speaker 12: it was facing off the field, had the field, we
- 1:15:22Speaker 12: what are the keys to apartmentalize.
- 1:15:24Speaker 8: The Yeah, to me, it's just, look, this is a job.
- 1:15:28Speaker 20: You know, it's a sport that we all grew up,
- 1:15:30Speaker 20: you know, dreaming and playing the NFL at the highest level.
- 1:15:33Speaker 20: And sometimes I think, you know, just in general me
- 1:15:36Speaker 20: as a player, you forget that it's a job sometimes,
- 1:15:39Speaker 20: And uh, that's that's the one thing that these guys
- 1:15:42Speaker 20: have to remember. You know, you can you can break
- 1:15:44Speaker 20: it down all you want to do on family, you know,
- 1:15:46Speaker 20: but but it is a job big.
- 1:15:48Speaker 25: Believer's a key On potentially hard on himself to a
- 1:15:52Speaker 25: good players, receiving someone just.
- 1:15:54Speaker 14: In generally talk to me about like taking any the world.
- 1:15:58Speaker 8: Victories for the work where there we do not win,
- 1:16:01Speaker 8: any sense of frustration sort of like balance.
- 1:16:04Speaker 25: That with like doing the hard work part of the
- 1:16:06Speaker 25: worse if you just keep that and you didn't get
- 1:16:09Speaker 25: the players.
- 1:16:09Speaker 20: I think it's commendable, you know, for you know, Keon
- 1:16:12Speaker 20: to sit there and look in the mirror himself and
- 1:16:14Speaker 20: you have to be honest with yourself. I have to
- 1:16:16Speaker 20: be honest with myself, and so the rest of the
- 1:16:17Speaker 20: coaches and players, and you know oftentimes that's that's very difficult.
- 1:16:21Speaker 20: And you know, going back to key On, he recognizes that,
- 1:16:24Speaker 20: and you know he's take and steps to get better
- 1:16:26Speaker 20: for these last couple of weeks of the season. That's
- 1:16:27Speaker 20: doing extra work, that's doing extra treatment, extra you know,
- 1:16:30Speaker 20: extra in the weight room, all of those things. So
- 1:16:33Speaker 20: hopefully we get the key On that we all want
- 1:16:35Speaker 20: to see here on Saturday, What did you.
- 1:16:36Speaker 16: Think of Marte mont Who's performance last week and is
- 1:16:38Speaker 16: seeing one of the players that you want to continue
- 1:16:40Speaker 16: to see more.
- 1:16:41Speaker 8: If you mentioned young guys get more chances. Yeah, it's
- 1:16:43Speaker 8: good to get Marte out there.
- 1:16:44Speaker 20: You know, a guy that's versatile, smart, can play safety,
- 1:16:46Speaker 20: play linebacker, front to get that intersection. Obviously we want
- 1:16:48Speaker 20: to McCue stay in the end zone. But that was
- 1:16:51Speaker 20: a huge play and then you know, I think it
- 1:16:52Speaker 20: was the next play he had an opportunity to get
- 1:16:54Speaker 20: another one. And you know, he's another guy that you know,
- 1:16:58Speaker 20: he still has room to grow, and I think he
- 1:17:01Speaker 20: recognizes that.
- 1:17:02Speaker 22: A short week holiday in the fact that Jim Harbus
- 1:17:05Speaker 22: teams are always among the toughest, whatever level, wherever he's been.
- 1:17:08Speaker 22: How much do you think this game might be a
- 1:17:10Speaker 22: reflection of the toughness and focus you want.
- 1:17:12Speaker 8: To see from your team.
- 1:17:14Speaker 20: I'm not sure, you know, I think the guys are
- 1:17:16Speaker 20: dialed in. You know, we had our squad meeting this
- 1:17:18Speaker 20: morning and the guys had a great Christmas with their
- 1:17:20Speaker 20: family and they're ready to go out here and play.
- 1:17:22Speaker 8: And that's what we need to do a couple of times.
- 1:17:24Speaker 23: Because you're about and kind of his growth and his
- 1:17:27Speaker 23: development of course of the season, the productions, what is
- 1:17:35Speaker 23: he doing.
- 1:17:35Speaker 8: Down Mabe that he wasn't doing I don't know about now.
- 1:17:38Speaker 20: I would say, like coming into the season, he's shown
- 1:17:41Speaker 20: with tremendous growth off the field. You know, you can tell,
- 1:17:44Speaker 20: you know, he's really a professional. He's putting in the
- 1:17:46Speaker 20: extra work and it's showing up on game day.
- 1:17:48Speaker 8: You see.
- 1:17:49Speaker 24: You know, oftentime, coaches can see, you know, when you're winning, guys,
- 1:17:54Speaker 24: it's easy to see who the football players are who
- 1:17:56Speaker 24: really wants to have You seen that in the losing here,
- 1:17:59Speaker 24: even though it's tough to lose, if any players separated
- 1:18:02Speaker 24: themselves as a guy that comes to work every single
- 1:18:04Speaker 24: day cares immensely, do you see.
- 1:18:06Speaker 20: That separation, it's you know, I always talk about the
- 1:18:08Speaker 20: crem will eventually rise to the top, and going through
- 1:18:10Speaker 20: these tough times with our feet to the fire, you
- 1:18:12Speaker 20: really starting to see the guys that are with you
- 1:18:14Speaker 20: and the guys that aren't. I would also say, you know,
- 1:18:16Speaker 20: you grow through pain, you grow through these types of experiences.
- 1:18:20Speaker 20: And you know, with our record, we all we all
- 1:18:23Speaker 20: have a lot of room to grow.
- 1:18:25Speaker 19: Sophie's questioned about the center mentioned less see this in Cole.
- 1:18:29Speaker 19: It's at a situation where they sort.
- 1:18:31Speaker 18: Of competing to step in there or is there sort
- 1:18:34Speaker 18: of a clear AD's not there.
- 1:18:36Speaker 8: We know it's going to be fun the other Yeah,
- 1:18:38Speaker 8: we'll see how it goes today. You know, we'll see
- 1:18:40Speaker 8: how it goes today.
- 1:18:41Speaker 22: You know, I know you talked about the defensive talent Derbot, Bosa,
- 1:18:45Speaker 22: Kleil Mack the other day. But from a coaching standpoint,
- 1:18:48Speaker 22: Coach Minter his staff, what do you admire about how
- 1:18:50Speaker 22: they played defense?
- 1:18:52Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:18:52Speaker 20: For me, it's it's the versatility. And you know, you know,
- 1:18:55Speaker 20: I grew up in a versatile defense. We coach versatile
- 1:18:58Speaker 20: guys and I would say, you look at their guys,
- 1:19:00Speaker 20: you know, defensively, they're all versatile players. I know you
- 1:19:03Speaker 20: always thought, you know, we talk about Bosa and mac rushing,
- 1:19:06Speaker 20: but those guys can also drop. You talk about uh,
- 1:19:08Speaker 20: Derwyn James like he can play one snap he could
- 1:19:11Speaker 20: be in the middle of the field. The next snap
- 1:19:12Speaker 20: he could be blitzing off the edge. And so I
- 1:19:14Speaker 20: think he does a good job just putting those guys
- 1:19:16Speaker 20: in positions to go out there and maximize their athletic ability.
- 1:19:20Speaker 17: I know you were long the.
- 1:19:21Speaker 6: As suppose and you saw Hunter Lay coming.
- 1:19:23Speaker 4: Together for the go to go.
- 1:19:26Speaker 20: I just told when I walked out of here, I
- 1:19:27Speaker 20: just said, yeah, you guys go in there part you
- 1:19:29Speaker 20: know two for one and how did that go?
- 1:19:31Speaker 8: I didn't watch it, but what is it about.
- 1:19:34Speaker 11: That connection that you noticed about seen?
- 1:19:36Speaker 15: I mean coming on your podium together?
- 1:19:38Speaker 20: Yeah, you know I would, you know, not only Hunter,
- 1:19:40Speaker 20: I would take that entire room. You know, when you
- 1:19:42Speaker 20: talk about consistency, and I've talked about you know, we
- 1:19:44Speaker 20: need to be more consistent as a team, but when
- 1:19:47Speaker 20: you look at that tight end room, that's probably our
- 1:19:48Speaker 20: most consistent room in the building right now.
- 1:19:53Speaker 9: Keep being a trip for for someone that's never put
- 1:19:55Speaker 9: on the headset and that the head coach as that's
- 1:19:58Speaker 9: one thing that maybe.
- 1:20:00Speaker 4: Someone that hasn't put on the headset ha done that job.
- 1:20:04Speaker 8: We didn't know.
- 1:20:05Speaker 7: Not that you get experienced, you know, making.
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: All this game management.
- 1:20:09Speaker 20: I think the main thing is just staying ahead of
- 1:20:10Speaker 20: the game. And really it's about anticipation and you know,
- 1:20:15Speaker 20: when it's all said and done, I have to make
- 1:20:16Speaker 20: a decision that I think is going to put us
- 1:20:18Speaker 20: in the best chance to win.
- 1:20:19Speaker 8: All right, Happy holidays.
- 1:20:22Speaker 5: And now great moments in history only been on a
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: team like Brandon Cooks. Changes teams every year.
- 1:20:31Speaker 7: I'm just talking.
- 1:20:31Speaker 5: Might not have at his age that knowledge of a
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: system I was given Eric the props, that's right. I
- 1:20:39Speaker 5: don't understand what his age has to do with anything.
- 1:20:41Speaker 4: I think his age has to do with a lot
- 1:20:43Speaker 4: of it's and you're talking trade. I think another team
- 1:20:46Speaker 4: is taking into consideration the guy's age, right, don't why because.
- 1:20:50Speaker 5: He's old, because he doesn't know my system? That's what
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: you said.
- 1:20:54Speaker 25: This is the only thing that I disagree he said
- 1:20:57Speaker 25: is that he's more valuable to the Patriots.
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: Because that's right, and that's nothing to do with age.
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: But at his age, he has less to contribute to
- 1:21:04Speaker 4: another team by Patriots, I agree.
- 1:21:07Speaker 5: That's why. I don't think because he's old.
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: About two minutes later, who was.
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: He more valuable to another team with the Patriots?
- 1:21:16Speaker 5: The Patriots?
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: Why?
- 1:21:18Speaker 5: Because he is on the Patriots?
- 1:21:20Speaker 7: Get it?
- 1:21:21Speaker 4: You can't even answer, you know, forget it. It's it's over.
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: It's ok, ding ding ding, It's over.
- 1:21:26Speaker 7: Let's move on.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: About five minutes later.
- 1:21:30Speaker 5: Thank that's ridiculously.
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: This is what you can't have it.
- 1:21:33Speaker 5: You can't have an arm because you can't, Thank you, Paul.
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: You're not allowed to disagree with Fred. Thank you, you're
- 1:21:40Speaker 5: not allowed don't disagree.
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: Thanks for giving me credit for that.
- 1:21:43Speaker 5: Don't disagree, Fred, I'm sorry, appreciate. I'm sure I hurt
- 1:21:47Speaker 5: your feelings by disagreeing with you.
- 1:21:49Speaker 25: I don't think I sound like the one who's upset here. No,
- 1:21:53Speaker 25: oh no, you very much sound like the one who's upset.
- 1:21:58Speaker 25: That's ridiculous. That's ridiculous. That's ridiculous.
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: We just like that ended at some point.
- 1:22:03Speaker 7: I don't mean it's like you have to.
- 1:22:04Speaker 4: It's like I have to put down a vampire exactly
- 1:22:06Speaker 4: like keeps coming back exactly decided hard.
- 1:22:10Speaker 5: You've decided that it's silly.
- 1:22:13Speaker 3: That's another great moment from.
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: All right back here. Patriot sound feels a bad one,
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: even a great That one was bad.
- 1:22:24Speaker 5: You got to leak that one out of the band.
- 1:22:27Speaker 5: That was a bad one, eh, even know we were
- 1:22:29Speaker 5: arguing it was so stupid.
- 1:22:30Speaker 4: Eight five five past five hundred is these does it
- 1:22:33Speaker 4: really matter now? Eight five five past five hundred or
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: is the TPX hotline and did It Again? Podcasts at
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: Patriots dot com as the email address. This is an
- 1:22:41Speaker 4: email from branded in Maine says I hope everyone had
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: a great Christmas. I thought you might all like to
- 1:22:48Speaker 4: know how my Christmas morning went. With the in laws
- 1:22:50Speaker 4: having spent the night and everyone's still asleep, I took
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: advantage of an early and quiet Christmas morning to put
- 1:22:57Speaker 4: in my headphones and listen to Tuesday's PU show. After
- 1:23:01Speaker 4: enjoying a quick coffee, nature did what nature does, and
- 1:23:05Speaker 4: I went to the bathroom to sit on my throne
- 1:23:07Speaker 4: in quiet contemplation. When the constitutionals nearly complete, Mike returned
- 1:23:12Speaker 4: from practice. Well, as you can imagine, you can't not
- 1:23:16Speaker 4: sing along when this gem hits the airwaves. With my
- 1:23:19Speaker 4: headphones in, I happily sang my favorite PU tune, finished
- 1:23:24Speaker 4: my business in left the bathroom to applause and cheers
- 1:23:27Speaker 4: from the now awake in laws and an embarrassed wife
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: with her head in her hands. I could see this
- 1:23:32Speaker 4: becoming a story to be told in the years to come,
- 1:23:35Speaker 4: and perhaps my explanations and replaying of the Diddy for
- 1:23:38Speaker 4: all to hear will bring some new PU fans from
- 1:23:41Speaker 4: the extended family. All the best in a happy near
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: to all of you. So this guy was singing Mike's
- 1:23:47Speaker 4: song in the bathroom, and he didn't know anyone was
- 1:23:49Speaker 4: listening and there you go. I thought they I thought
- 1:23:53Speaker 4: they were applauding because you know, he finished his business.
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: Yeah you know, good, good for you?
- 1:23:58Speaker 4: Good.
- 1:23:59Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:24:00Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: I will say that every time I heard Derreck Henry's
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: name yesterday during the game, I was thinking of the song.
- 1:24:05Speaker 4: Oh absolutely looks like Derreck Henry. So that's that's a good.
- 1:24:13Speaker 8: Okay, there we go.
- 1:24:14Speaker 4: All right, Yeah, the mouse wasn't working. Good story, Brendan
- 1:24:17Speaker 4: appreciate that. But it's funny how we've creeped into people's lives,
- 1:24:22Speaker 4: even even on Christmas Day. Uh tpx hutline. Kendall's in
- 1:24:28Speaker 4: North Carolina. What's up, Kendall, Hey, how you guys doing good?
- 1:24:33Speaker 8: Good?
- 1:24:34Speaker 15: This question for all the what is the what is
- 1:24:38Speaker 15: the acceptable number of interception for a quarterback? First beame?
- 1:24:43Speaker 8: What is that?
- 1:24:43Speaker 11: Measure?
- 1:24:43Speaker 15: Numbers like, is it ten or keep the loow tan,
- 1:24:47Speaker 15: make it the low fifteen or the like? What would
- 1:24:50Speaker 15: y'all think the good.
- 1:24:51Speaker 7: Number of inter Yeah?
- 1:24:52Speaker 4: Okay, yeah, yeah, a lot of thanks Kendall.
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: Yeah, And I think Alex van Pelt actually talked about
- 1:24:58Speaker 5: this earlier in the year, and I've heard other offensive
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: quarters they like to keep it, you know, around ten
- 1:25:02Speaker 5: or below. You know, ideally, now that number probably rises
- 1:25:06Speaker 5: a little bit for a rookie. You know, the less
- 1:25:09Speaker 5: experience you have, obviously, the more mistakes you're gonna make.
- 1:25:13Speaker 5: But yeah, I think a lot of them like to
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: talk about let's keep it around ten.
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: You like to have it less than one per game average.
- 1:25:19Speaker 5: You know you need to be less than that, yeah,
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: you know, in general, but you know, if if you
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: can keep it around ten, then you know you're not
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: miss necessarily mistake prone. So you know, may's been a
- 1:25:33Speaker 5: little high, but like I said, for rookies, you've got
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: to put that number up a little bit higher.
- 1:25:38Speaker 4: But you know, you don't want it to be you know,
- 1:25:40Speaker 4: seven if you're only throwing ten touchdowns, so well, that
- 1:25:43Speaker 4: has to be like the delta, a good delta.
- 1:25:45Speaker 5: So that's another thing, and it brings us to the
- 1:25:47Speaker 5: game that we're playing this week with the Chargers, and
- 1:25:50Speaker 5: you know, you know, I really like Justin Herbert. I
- 1:25:52Speaker 5: think he's a pretty good player, but he hasn't necessarily
- 1:25:56Speaker 5: been able to sort of break through and a lot
- 1:25:58Speaker 5: of people talking about how good he's been this year
- 1:26:02Speaker 5: because he's cut way down on the mistakes, so he's
- 1:26:05Speaker 5: got only three interceptions. He only has eighteen touchdowns. It's
- 1:26:09Speaker 5: not a very high number of touchdowns, right, So to
- 1:26:13Speaker 5: your point, Freddie, I would like to almost see like
- 1:26:17Speaker 5: if he had twenty eight touchdowns but say nine interceptions.
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: I think I would rather have that. Yeah, you know,
- 1:26:25Speaker 5: so I don't know the answer. I haven't watched all
- 1:26:28Speaker 5: the Chargers games. But is he being really cautious with
- 1:26:30Speaker 5: the ball and therefore not making any play?
- 1:26:32Speaker 8: Right?
- 1:26:32Speaker 4: That would be my guest, right, Jacoby Brissett doesn't have
- 1:26:34Speaker 4: a lot of interceptions.
- 1:26:35Speaker 5: No, He's right, Like his interception percentage is among the
- 1:26:40Speaker 5: very best of all time, right, but he never throws
- 1:26:44Speaker 5: any touchdowns either, so therefore it's not making a lot
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: of plays.
- 1:26:48Speaker 4: When Brady was at his peak, it was like forty
- 1:26:50Speaker 4: ten or something like that.
- 1:26:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean he had one and one of his
- 1:26:53Speaker 5: MVP years he threw thirty six touchdowns and only four picks.
- 1:26:56Speaker 5: I think that was twenty ten. But you know, even
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: in like seven, I think he threw eight interceptions. Like,
- 1:27:02Speaker 5: with fifty touchdowns, eight interceptions, I mean, you're talking silly number.
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: That's crazy, you know, because in order to get that
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: many touchdowns, you're throwing the ball over the yard, and
- 1:27:12Speaker 4: obviously the more you throw it, the more risk there is.
- 1:27:14Speaker 4: And he only eight. That's incredible. That is incredible. Jeremiah
- 1:27:20Speaker 4: writes in pretty sure you have all heard the rumors
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: that surrounding Garrett Wilson most likely asking for a trade
- 1:27:28Speaker 4: this offseason from the Jets. I know it's very unlikely
- 1:27:32Speaker 4: that they even think of trading with us, but at
- 1:27:33Speaker 4: the same time, it is the Jets. So I'm wondering
- 1:27:35Speaker 4: what you think would how that situation would unfold. I
- 1:27:41Speaker 4: haven't really been up on these rumors of Garrett Wilson.
- 1:27:44Speaker 5: Some people think that he'll probably be looking to be
- 1:27:48Speaker 5: traded in the off season. Obviously, I'd be very much
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: interested in acquiring him. I think he's a really, really
- 1:27:56Speaker 5: good player. In a heartbeat, I just to you know.
- 1:27:59Speaker 5: Then he answered his own question. I just can't imagine
- 1:28:02Speaker 5: the Jets would want to trade with the Patriot.
- 1:28:04Speaker 4: Would you give a first and if they gave you
- 1:28:06Speaker 4: something else?
- 1:28:07Speaker 5: I wouldn't give the number two pick of the draft
- 1:28:09Speaker 5: for him?
- 1:28:09Speaker 4: No, No, what if they gave you their first?
- 1:28:14Speaker 8: And? Yeah?
- 1:28:15Speaker 5: Okay, So with switching spots with the Jets and they're
- 1:28:18Speaker 5: throwing in Garrett Wilson. Yeah, you know that, that's something
- 1:28:21Speaker 5: I'd be more interested.
- 1:28:22Speaker 4: I would do that right away, Yeah, right away.
- 1:28:24Speaker 5: But they're not.
- 1:28:25Speaker 4: They're not going to do They're not doing that about
- 1:28:27Speaker 4: their second.
- 1:28:29Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't know what about you looking for?
- 1:28:32Speaker 4: But what about Quinn Williams and Garrett for our first.
- 1:28:38Speaker 8: Huh No?
- 1:28:39Speaker 5: Yeah, now throwing breeze Hall. I just can't imagine, is
- 1:28:47Speaker 5: there anything? And I don't know, Like, I just can't
- 1:28:49Speaker 5: imagine the Jets would want to trade with the Patriots. It's,
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: you know, such a high profile guy that would come
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: back and but that's that's a little different. And you bled.
- 1:28:58Speaker 5: And it was also a situation where Bill Belichick, is
- 1:29:01Speaker 5: pains me to say, was fairly comfortable and confident that
- 1:29:05Speaker 5: Ledsoe wouldn't come back and haunt him. He he, you know,
- 1:29:08Speaker 5: he had the better team and he ended up being right.
- 1:29:11Speaker 5: I mean, but so played okay for the Bills, but
- 1:29:13Speaker 5: it wasn't in a situation that he was gonna He's
- 1:29:16Speaker 5: gonna come back and get him. Garrett Wilson's a really,
- 1:29:18Speaker 5: really good player in the prime of his career. You
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: would have to face him twice a year and potentially
- 1:29:25Speaker 5: he's like a Pro Bowl, All Pro caliber wide receiver.
- 1:29:28Speaker 5: I don't I don't think that would be something you'd
- 1:29:30Speaker 5: want to do a few of the cats.
- 1:29:32Speaker 4: Uh Yvonne from Toronto. We obviously need to upgrade our players.
- 1:29:36Speaker 4: We have some serviceable players, but no playmakers. Only Gonzales
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: and May. Question. It seems to be brought back the
- 1:29:43Speaker 4: same old players. Who can we cut with their current
- 1:29:46Speaker 4: contract to bring some playmakers. Yes, you'll need to take
- 1:29:49Speaker 4: a financial hit. It's time to open the wallet and
- 1:29:52Speaker 4: probably overpaid players for them to come here and play
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: with May won't lie. I'm not confident that Elliott Wolf
- 1:29:58Speaker 4: will pick the right players in the draft or free agency.
- 1:30:01Speaker 4: You know, I know they brought up back a lot
- 1:30:03Speaker 4: of these guys, gave him extensions or whatever. I don't
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: think any of them are deal breakers.
- 1:30:08Speaker 5: None of them are only a couple. I think one
- 1:30:12Speaker 5: who I think would be tough, Barmore would be tough
- 1:30:16Speaker 5: now Barmore is.
- 1:30:16Speaker 4: Situation, is not a guy that you'd want to cut.
- 1:30:18Speaker 5: No, I'm saying like, if you wanted to move on
- 1:30:20Speaker 5: from these guys, for the most part, there's not I
- 1:30:24Speaker 5: don't worry about the guys that are under contract.
- 1:30:27Speaker 4: They need.
- 1:30:27Speaker 5: The first part is what I would worry about. They
- 1:30:29Speaker 5: need playmakers, they need more talent. Hey, look who's.
- 1:30:36Speaker 4: Back from the locker room.
- 1:30:38Speaker 6: What was the mood where the players friendly to that
- 1:30:40Speaker 6: none of them looked like Derek Henry, hay Mike.
- 1:30:44Speaker 7: What was it like in the locker room?
- 1:30:48Speaker 5: Hay Mike, what was it like?
- 1:30:52Speaker 7: Locker room?
- 1:30:53Speaker 8: Like?
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: We had somebody to give a Christmas story? Yesterday? He
- 1:30:56Speaker 4: was in the bathroom in the morning. He thought he
- 1:30:58Speaker 4: was the only one to wake and was listening to
- 1:31:00Speaker 4: us in the radio on his headphones, but singing the song.
- 1:31:04Speaker 4: When he got out, all his in laws.
- 1:31:05Speaker 7: Oh, applauded.
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: He didn't know they were out there.
- 1:31:09Speaker 7: Yeah, hum himself. Yeah, good for him now to catch
- 1:31:13Speaker 7: a tune. I don't know, Joe.
- 1:31:14Speaker 9: Maybe she should put some real lyrics in it and
- 1:31:16Speaker 9: just release.
- 1:31:17Speaker 4: It as a real lyrics. Those are great lyrics.
- 1:31:19Speaker 9: Maybe t Swift we'll pick it up or something that
- 1:31:22Speaker 9: was a quick quick locker room I don't know. Maybe
- 1:31:24Speaker 9: Alex can help out. She can jump in and help
- 1:31:26Speaker 9: with some of the reporting. Only heard from Christian Ellis
- 1:31:29Speaker 9: in the In the REVS locker room, Elis with two
- 1:31:33Speaker 9: l's two s's and they were looked like they were
- 1:31:35Speaker 9: bringing cold strange in as I was running down the hallway.
- 1:31:38Speaker 7: So I'm not sure we'll see.
- 1:31:39Speaker 9: I guess from the reporters what he had to say,
- 1:31:41Speaker 9: but you know, not much Christian Elliskin right, just try
- 1:31:44Speaker 9: to stop the run. That's a big, you know, recurring
- 1:31:46Speaker 9: theme for the defense. So you know, he's just highlighting
- 1:31:49Speaker 9: a lot of the big plays that they've given up,
- 1:31:50Speaker 9: which I think may be worth a little maybe a
- 1:31:52Speaker 9: little bit of a statistical dive just to see, you know,
- 1:31:55Speaker 9: how they where do they stack up with big running
- 1:31:57Speaker 9: you know, explosive running plays allowed this year? Where they
- 1:31:59Speaker 9: ranking that? But yeah, so I don't know. I popped
- 1:32:02Speaker 9: in the locker room briefly. I don't know if you
- 1:32:03Speaker 9: if you've noticed anything, but I will say one thing,
- 1:32:06Speaker 9: like I think that we might be of interest to
- 1:32:08Speaker 9: note maybe going forward in the locker.
- 1:32:09Speaker 7: Room is.
- 1:32:11Speaker 9: And maybe not, maybe this is just how kids are
- 1:32:13Speaker 9: these days. But you know, like the ratio of people
- 1:32:16Speaker 9: with their heads buried in their phones in the locker room, like,
- 1:32:19Speaker 9: you know, is that.
- 1:32:20Speaker 7: Something every day?
- 1:32:22Speaker 9: No players players, you know, and look, I know these
- 1:32:24Speaker 9: guys are and it's in between a you know, a
- 1:32:27Speaker 9: practice and and you know meetings and all that kind
- 1:32:29Speaker 9: of stuff, and they're busy and they're maybe on break
- 1:32:31Speaker 9: and we're all looking at our phones all the time too.
- 1:32:33Speaker 9: So I don't want to get to judge you with it,
- 1:32:34Speaker 9: but I just I think it's like a coach, like
- 1:32:36Speaker 9: if I was a coach, which.
- 1:32:38Speaker 7: I'd like to get back into someday.
- 1:32:40Speaker 9: But guys on their phones, like I remember coaching hockey.
- 1:32:44Speaker 4: They're at their locker. I know, I know, I don't
- 1:32:46Speaker 4: have any problem with that.
- 1:32:47Speaker 7: Now.
- 1:32:48Speaker 5: Never no boomer comments for this.
- 1:32:50Speaker 4: What are we doing?
- 1:32:51Speaker 10: Probably been without their phones for a few hours now, Yeah,
- 1:32:54Speaker 10: so they're just catching it up.
- 1:32:56Speaker 5: I said, no boomer comments for this, for this take
- 1:32:59Speaker 5: the players all with their heads buried their phone.
- 1:33:01Speaker 6: Yeah, don't want to.
- 1:33:02Speaker 9: I mean there were there were just you know, some
- 1:33:03Speaker 9: notable people.
- 1:33:04Speaker 7: But guy, look, i'll tell you hip well, the root
- 1:33:07Speaker 7: of it.
- 1:33:08Speaker 9: What bothers me, which will probably bother you guys too,
- 1:33:10Speaker 9: is I went in between when I was coaching a
- 1:33:11Speaker 9: hockey team, and I went in between the first and
- 1:33:13Speaker 9: second period and everyone's just down the head down in phones.
- 1:33:16Speaker 7: Okay, that's a game.
- 1:33:18Speaker 4: It's a little different but or like if they were
- 1:33:21Speaker 4: you were trying to interview the guy and he's like
- 1:33:23Speaker 4: looking at his phone while he's talking to you. I
- 1:33:25Speaker 4: could see that too. But you just got back from
- 1:33:28Speaker 4: wherever lift, you know, and you just want to catch up.
- 1:33:31Speaker 5: You have no problem you And I conducted an interview
- 1:33:33Speaker 5: with a guy on this very radio station who spent
- 1:33:35Speaker 5: the whole time on his phone.
- 1:33:37Speaker 4: Two phones, right, Adam Schefter.
- 1:33:39Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 1:33:39Speaker 9: I just think maybe next year I'm going to start
- 1:33:42Speaker 9: just to take note if there's always a handful of
- 1:33:45Speaker 9: guys who are just disconnected, feel disconnected from you know,
- 1:33:48Speaker 9: if there's stuff going on and guys are laughing and
- 1:33:50Speaker 9: joking and there's always just the same you know. I'm
- 1:33:52Speaker 9: not pointing any fingers anybody, but I don't know, just
- 1:33:54Speaker 9: some maybe to be aware of it. Maybe you guys
- 1:33:55Speaker 9: are telling me about that, but I know I'm always
- 1:33:58Speaker 9: a guy by himself and his phone.
- 1:33:59Speaker 7: I think that's a bad thing.
- 1:34:00Speaker 4: Well, I will say that if it's a constant thing
- 1:34:04Speaker 4: and guys get in the locker room, no one's talking
- 1:34:06Speaker 4: to each other, it doesn't seem to be a lot
- 1:34:08Speaker 4: of camaraderie, I would take notice of that.
- 1:34:10Speaker 7: Now was not that at all.
- 1:34:11Speaker 9: I mean there was there was plenty of good energy
- 1:34:13Speaker 9: and you know, just you know, random guys in their phone,
- 1:34:15Speaker 9: who's totally normal. I mean, you walk upstairs right now,
- 1:34:17Speaker 9: it's probably the same thing. And the admin level of people,
- 1:34:19Speaker 9: you know, checking their phones and stuff.
- 1:34:20Speaker 5: That's assuming there are people in the ad that's sure.
- 1:34:23Speaker 7: What's this today?
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: I mean I remember it used to be seems like
- 1:34:26Speaker 4: it used to be the time where in the locker
- 1:34:29Speaker 4: room they'd have the Domino's boards set up in the middle,
- 1:34:33Speaker 4: guys would be playing you know, puff basketballor whatever, and
- 1:34:36Speaker 4: it just seemed lively and guys playing you know, is
- 1:34:40Speaker 4: it still like that or do you ever see any
- 1:34:42Speaker 4: of that?
- 1:34:42Speaker 10: You have little games set up that they sometimes partake in,
- 1:34:46Speaker 10: because like connect fours in there, there's another one. It's
- 1:34:48Speaker 10: like a little hoop on a string and you have
- 1:34:50Speaker 10: to get it too. But when I walked in Leyden
- 1:34:52Speaker 10: Robinson had del Pettis and a headlock and they were
- 1:34:54Speaker 10: all gig leagues. So I don't think that everyone's completely
- 1:34:57Speaker 10: disconnected from each other.
- 1:35:01Speaker 11: It was really funny to.
- 1:35:02Speaker 4: See if guys aren't having fun with each other, I
- 1:35:06Speaker 4: notice having college like you know what's wrong with the camaraderie.
- 1:35:09Speaker 4: Are these guys friends? Are they hanging out with each
- 1:35:12Speaker 4: other because you want that? Yeah?
- 1:35:14Speaker 10: Well, Leyden had him in a headlock and then right
- 1:35:17Speaker 10: after a defensive contingent kind of walked in and they
- 1:35:20Speaker 10: were like, oh, you guys missed it.
- 1:35:24Speaker 11: Some good kem kem.
- 1:35:25Speaker 4: So Evan should be here any minute.
- 1:35:27Speaker 10: Should And Evan got had an unfortunate incident walking out
- 1:35:30Speaker 10: of this building. Unfortunate wet paint incident.
- 1:35:36Speaker 11: My back was actually covered in wet paint. This is
- 1:35:38Speaker 11: a brand sprinted some springs.
- 1:35:42Speaker 7: He actually did spread to the locker room and just.
- 1:35:44Speaker 11: Took a towel and went to town and I got
- 1:35:46Speaker 11: all the paint off.
- 1:35:47Speaker 9: Okay, good.
- 1:35:48Speaker 7: Evan got on his new sweatshirt.
- 1:35:51Speaker 11: If you're listening, he already texted her.
- 1:35:55Speaker 8: So he might he.
- 1:35:58Speaker 4: Try to.
- 1:35:58Speaker 11: I offered to take it for him and try to
- 1:36:00Speaker 11: scrub it.
- 1:36:00Speaker 4: But oh boy, uh, all right, Well we get away
- 1:36:05Speaker 4: for Evan before we do picks. But Paul, yesterday there
- 1:36:08Speaker 4: were a couple of games and you and I didn't
- 1:36:10Speaker 4: do too well, but everybody else did.
- 1:36:11Speaker 5: Everybody else went for oh yesterday, So yeah, Mike, Alex
- 1:36:16Speaker 5: and Evan all got both games correct with the overall
- 1:36:21Speaker 5: in with the spread, Uh, Fred, you and I went
- 1:36:23Speaker 5: one and one overall, both of us went oh and
- 1:36:25Speaker 5: two with the spread. I'll give you last week, okay,
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: because even though we've already started week seventeen, we didn't
- 1:36:34Speaker 5: recap week sixteen. So but his heater continues now he
- 1:36:40Speaker 5: fred in Evan thirteen and three, Paul and Alex twelve
- 1:36:45Speaker 5: and four, and Mike eleven and five solid keep your
- 1:36:49Speaker 5: head up in the at the cafeteria, no problem with
- 1:36:54Speaker 5: the spread. Paul ten five and one, Mike and Evan
- 1:36:59Speaker 5: nine six and one, Alex eight seven and one, and
- 1:37:02Speaker 5: Fred seven eight and one. So overall season standings to
- 1:37:10Speaker 5: date with two weeks left, Evan one, seventy one and
- 1:37:13Speaker 5: sixty nine, followed by Alex won sixty four and seventy six,
- 1:37:18Speaker 5: Paul won sixty one and seventy nine, Mike one fifty
- 1:37:22Speaker 5: nine and eighty one, and pub Emoji Fred and eighty
- 1:37:27Speaker 5: two even lay with the spread. Evan again one thirty seven,
- 1:37:35Speaker 5: ninety eight and five, followed by Paul won thirty five,
- 1:37:39Speaker 5: one hundred and five, Fred one thirty three, one oh
- 1:37:44Speaker 5: two and five, Mike one thirty two, one oh three
- 1:37:47Speaker 5: and five and Poopamoji Alex one twenty six, one oh
- 1:37:52Speaker 5: nine and five. And I know you guys are thinking,
- 1:37:56Speaker 5: how did Fred do in his locks of the week?
- 1:37:59Speaker 5: Oh right, Oh, Fred knows how he did in the
- 1:38:02Speaker 5: looks of the week. Oh and two locks and the folks,
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: this is your lock of the week picks. Fred lost
- 1:38:10Speaker 5: by taking three points with the Jets, and he lost
- 1:38:13Speaker 5: by taking fourteen points with the Saints. They were both losers. Wow,
- 1:38:18Speaker 5: so he's now two and five since I've been keeping
- 1:38:20Speaker 5: track of the man.
- 1:38:22Speaker 4: Listen, folks, this is your lock of the week. It's
- 1:38:24Speaker 4: hard to be perfect. It is in picks. It's hard
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: to be perfect.
- 1:38:29Speaker 7: Generally you're supposed to say, well.
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: What about even just a little good?
- 1:38:32Speaker 8: Correct?
- 1:38:32Speaker 9: Right?
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: Waiting for that? I was teeing it up.
- 1:38:35Speaker 5: I mean, I feel like I was regumentative with you yesterday.
- 1:38:38Speaker 4: I wanted to take a step back, giving you a
- 1:38:41Speaker 4: softball there.
- 1:38:42Speaker 7: All right, so we have to wait for Evan, right,
- 1:38:44Speaker 7: I mean too we.
- 1:38:46Speaker 5: We could get started if you want, and we can
- 1:38:48Speaker 5: play catch up, especially if he's in a panic about
- 1:38:51Speaker 5: his sweatshirt.
- 1:38:54Speaker 4: Okay, all right, well let's let's let's start it tonight.
- 1:38:59Speaker 4: Tonight on Prime Video eight point fifteen, the eight and
- 1:39:04Speaker 4: seven Seahawks are at the four and eleven Bears Seattle.
- 1:39:08Speaker 5: By four.
- 1:39:11Speaker 7: Yikes Thursday night.
- 1:39:15Speaker 9: Man, all right, I'm gonna take Seattle on the road.
- 1:39:17Speaker 9: It just's hard to pick the Bears right now the
- 1:39:19Speaker 9: direction things are going, So I'll take Seattle later points same.
- 1:39:23Speaker 5: Yeah, I didn't know there was going to be a
- 1:39:25Speaker 5: Thursday Night came this week. It kind of took me
- 1:39:27Speaker 5: by surprise when I was putting this together this morning.
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: I will take Seattle as well. Bears have it won
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: since the unfortunate Hail Mary.
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna have the Bears cover. Not
- 1:39:40Speaker 4: a lock, not a lock, but I'm gonna have the
- 1:39:42Speaker 4: Bears cover, but lose the game. All right. So we
- 1:39:45Speaker 4: move now to Saturday, where there's a triple header, and
- 1:39:50Speaker 4: we're gonna skip over the Patriots at one o'clock. We're
- 1:39:54Speaker 4: gonna move to four thirty. And this is on the
- 1:39:57Speaker 4: NFL network, folks.
- 1:39:59Speaker 5: Yeah, this triple header is all on all.
- 1:40:01Speaker 4: On NFL Network, right unless you're in the home market
- 1:40:04Speaker 4: of the team playing, then you can watch it on
- 1:40:06Speaker 4: your affiliate. But This is a four to thirty game
- 1:40:09Speaker 4: on NFL Network, the nine and six Broncos at the
- 1:40:13Speaker 4: seven and eight Bengals. A rare road game for the Broncos,
- 1:40:18Speaker 4: especially this time of year. So the Broncos at the
- 1:40:24Speaker 4: Bengals goals by three and a half. Interesting.
- 1:40:28Speaker 7: Yeah, that's tough, right, you know. I'm gonna I'm gonna.
- 1:40:31Speaker 9: I'm gonna take the hook, though, I'm gonna take Denver.
- 1:40:33Speaker 9: I'll take that extra half point. I think it's a
- 1:40:35Speaker 9: close one, but I'll take Cincinnati one.
- 1:40:37Speaker 4: Mike.
- 1:40:38Speaker 5: I just wanted to congratulate you for using all of
- 1:40:40Speaker 5: those terms properly.
- 1:40:41Speaker 9: Thank you, well done.
- 1:40:42Speaker 7: I've learned a lot in five years.
- 1:40:46Speaker 10: I think I'm gonna I'm gonna play it with Mike.
- 1:40:48Speaker 10: I could see the Broncos pulling an upset in this one,
- 1:40:51Speaker 10: but I'm gonna go give the Broncos the hook and
- 1:40:54Speaker 10: then go with the home team to win.
- 1:41:00Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the Bengals both ways. I'm gonna lay
- 1:41:05Speaker 5: the points.
- 1:41:06Speaker 4: Yeah, this is a difficult one to pick. I'm gonna
- 1:41:09Speaker 4: go with the Bengals as well, even though I hate
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: doing that. I need to make up some ground. I
- 1:41:15Speaker 4: think it might be too late, But I'm gonna go
- 1:41:18Speaker 4: with the Bengals to win the game. Eight ten on
- 1:41:22Speaker 4: NFL Network. These seven and eight Cardinals at the nine
- 1:41:25Speaker 4: and six Rams.
- 1:41:27Speaker 5: The Lar by seven.
- 1:41:30Speaker 7: That seems like a lot.
- 1:41:31Speaker 9: I'm gonna take the Lar, but I'm gonna take the points.
- 1:41:34Speaker 7: Arizona Divisional game. I think we all we all balk at.
- 1:41:39Speaker 9: Giving up too many points in divisional games.
- 1:41:43Speaker 11: I'm just gonna go with the Rams both ways.
- 1:41:47Speaker 5: Yeah, Mike is convinced me. I'm gonna take the Lar
- 1:41:52Speaker 5: to win the game, but I will take the points.
- 1:41:54Speaker 5: Divisional game. I think the Rams need it, but I
- 1:42:00Speaker 5: will take the points.
- 1:42:01Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with the Rams. Could they be a
- 1:42:02Speaker 4: team that.
- 1:42:04Speaker 5: You don't want to play, You wouldn't want to play them.
- 1:42:07Speaker 5: They're capable. I don't think they're capable of making a
- 1:42:09Speaker 5: run to the Super Bowl, rangy, but they're capable in
- 1:42:12Speaker 5: an individual playoffs.
- 1:42:14Speaker 4: I will go with the Rams both ways. One o'clock
- 1:42:17Speaker 4: we moved to Sunday Fox seven and eight Colts at
- 1:42:21Speaker 4: the two and thirteen Giants.
- 1:42:24Speaker 5: Colts by seven and a half. Oh boy, imagine the
- 1:42:28Speaker 5: Colts being the seven eight half point road.
- 1:42:31Speaker 9: Yeah, I know it's just I can't do it with
- 1:42:33Speaker 9: the Giants. They got top pick overall written all over them.
- 1:42:36Speaker 9: I'm gonna take Indie. I will lay the points.
- 1:42:40Speaker 6: Me too.
- 1:42:43Speaker 9: I just don't love them outside though, that's the only
- 1:42:45Speaker 9: pause them at the Giants is a little bit.
- 1:42:48Speaker 5: I'm gonna take Indy to win the game, but that's
- 1:42:50Speaker 5: too many points. I'm gonna take the points. I'll regret
- 1:42:53Speaker 5: it because I don't think the Giants have covered in
- 1:42:55Speaker 5: like two.
- 1:42:55Speaker 4: Months, and I don't think I think the Giants are
- 1:42:57Speaker 4: going to do everything in their power to make sure
- 1:42:59Speaker 4: they don't cover this. Uh it's it's a good point,
- 1:43:03Speaker 4: you know. I think this might be a mandate from
- 1:43:06Speaker 4: up above mandate game. If you win, you lose your job.
- 1:43:10Speaker 4: Brian Davis one o'clock on CBS four and eleven. Jets
- 1:43:17Speaker 4: at the twelve and.
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: Three bills Buffalo by eight and a half.
- 1:43:23Speaker 9: That's a lot of points again for AFC East, and
- 1:43:26Speaker 9: I think kind of pulling for the Jets here, but
- 1:43:28Speaker 9: I don't think they can do it.
- 1:43:29Speaker 7: I'm gonna take Buffalo.
- 1:43:30Speaker 9: I think they got back on track last week the
- 1:43:33Speaker 9: second half, a little bit, back used to playing outside
- 1:43:36Speaker 9: in their home conditions.
- 1:43:37Speaker 7: I'm gonna take Buffalo, and I'm gonna lay the points.
- 1:43:41Speaker 9: Buffalo blows doors.
- 1:43:44Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:43:44Speaker 5: Does anybody find it interesting that they were favored over
- 1:43:47Speaker 5: the Patriots at home by fourteen and they're favored over
- 1:43:51Speaker 5: the Jets at home by only eight and a half.
- 1:43:53Speaker 4: Well, I think a lot of it has to do
- 1:43:55Speaker 4: with the positioning, and also I think the Jets defense
- 1:43:59Speaker 4: is a lot better than the Patriots defense.
- 1:44:03Speaker 5: I suppose I'll take Buffalo both ways. I found it
- 1:44:06Speaker 5: interesting because I think the Jets think, but they get
- 1:44:09Speaker 5: some of this.
- 1:44:10Speaker 9: Do you think it's like sort of respects generally, like yeah.
- 1:44:15Speaker 4: All right, Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna have the whoa
- 1:44:19Speaker 4: what's going on rolling in the kegs for Saturday's games.
- 1:44:22Speaker 5: We're no personal danger, are we.
- 1:44:24Speaker 4: I'm gonna have the Jet that's covering this game. I
- 1:44:29Speaker 4: think the Jets have done me wrong this season.
- 1:44:31Speaker 5: A lock of the week.
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: No, it's not a lock of the week, but I
- 1:44:34Speaker 4: am going to have the Jets cover the Bills. I
- 1:44:37Speaker 4: think the Patriots showed the rest of the league a
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: little bit of the blueprint. Blueprint yeah for Josh Allen.
- 1:44:44Speaker 8: So there you go.
- 1:44:46Speaker 4: One o'clock on CBS. The three and twelve Titans are
- 1:44:50Speaker 4: at the three and twelve Jaguars.
- 1:44:54Speaker 5: Jacksonville by one.
- 1:44:56Speaker 8: Good Lord.
- 1:44:57Speaker 5: There's a couple of those matchups this week. Tennessee Jacksonville
- 1:45:00Speaker 5: is one of them.
- 1:45:01Speaker 4: The next game is on two.
- 1:45:03Speaker 7: I don't know, you know what. I just like Tennessee
- 1:45:05Speaker 7: overall a little bit better. That's that's how that's how
- 1:45:07Speaker 7: bad it is. I can't I can't roll with Mac
- 1:45:09Speaker 7: and Jacksonville a game we'll.
- 1:45:10Speaker 4: Love us quarterbacking Mason Rudolph plays.
- 1:45:14Speaker 5: But I don't know what is Tennessee Tennessee.
- 1:45:17Speaker 9: I'll take an upset.
- 1:45:18Speaker 10: There because it's like a coin flip one for me.
- 1:45:21Speaker 10: But I'll go with the home team and the Sharps Jacksonville.
- 1:45:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm with Alex. I'm gonna take Jacksonville. But yeah,
- 1:45:29Speaker 5: bad bad teams me too.
- 1:45:32Speaker 4: Jaguars at home. One o'clock on Fox. The three and
- 1:45:36Speaker 4: twelve Raiders are at the five and ten Saints.
- 1:45:39Speaker 5: It's another one of those games. I was talking about
- 1:45:41Speaker 5: the Raiders by one and a half.
- 1:45:46Speaker 9: Yeah, I think I think the Raiders have a little
- 1:45:48Speaker 9: bit more talent left standing here at this point in
- 1:45:51Speaker 9: the season, even though that's probably a ten year statement
- 1:45:54Speaker 9: at best. But I'll take Las Vegas.
- 1:45:58Speaker 7: Was it one?
- 1:45:59Speaker 5: Just one and a half?
- 1:46:01Speaker 4: Raiders?
- 1:46:01Speaker 6: Raiders?
- 1:46:03Speaker 5: Yeah, the Saints have nothing to march in with no quarterback,
- 1:46:10Speaker 5: no coach, no like just I'm going to take the
- 1:46:14Speaker 5: Raiders only because I feel like they're a little bit healthier.
- 1:46:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm going to take the Raiders as well, although even.
- 1:46:21Speaker 5: Though they're missing guys too. I think Max Kross like.
- 1:46:23Speaker 4: What happens to the Raiders draft standing if they win
- 1:46:26Speaker 4: this game?
- 1:46:26Speaker 5: Yeah, Bill, they'll move down again. They went, but I
- 1:46:29Speaker 5: think they went from two to six because are they in.
- 1:46:32Speaker 4: The shadier Sanders Serve stakes?
- 1:46:35Speaker 5: So like that's too late now, Yeah, they already moved
- 1:46:39Speaker 5: down to six.
- 1:46:40Speaker 4: Right one o'clock on CBS, the four and eleven Panthers
- 1:46:45Speaker 4: are at the eight and seven Buccaneers.
- 1:46:47Speaker 5: Bucks by seven and a half.
- 1:46:49Speaker 9: Oh boy, what a tough team to pick Tampa. I
- 1:46:53Speaker 9: will put Tampa to win. I don't know, but Carolina
- 1:46:57Speaker 9: is weird a division game. I'll take the points for Carolina.
- 1:47:00Speaker 11: I'm gonna split it just like Mike.
- 1:47:02Speaker 5: Yeah, me too. I think Carolina has continued to play well,
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: so I'll take the points. Seven and a half a lot.
- 1:47:08Speaker 4: Yeah, there's one where the sharps are telling you something
- 1:47:13Speaker 4: because the Panthers have been playing well lately. Yet it's
- 1:47:17Speaker 4: a fairly big spread.
- 1:47:19Speaker 8: Go with it.
- 1:47:20Speaker 4: Listen to the sharps. It's a lock of the week.
- 1:47:23Speaker 4: It's a favorite cover. It's a it's called it's not
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: a chalk cover. It's a favorite coat. I got, I
- 1:47:31Speaker 4: got the Okay, okay, the glossary.
- 1:47:37Speaker 7: Uh box cover.
- 1:47:40Speaker 4: Fox that one. These seven and eight Cowboys are at
- 1:47:44Speaker 4: the twelve and three Eagles.
- 1:47:48Speaker 5: Philly by eight and a half. Anyone have any odd
- 1:47:51Speaker 5: respect for the way Dallas has played?
- 1:47:54Speaker 4: Are they playing for their coach?
- 1:47:57Speaker 5: Or I don't know.
- 1:47:59Speaker 4: I don't know either.
- 1:48:01Speaker 5: They have been playing better somehow. Another team that didn't
- 1:48:03Speaker 5: just quit go figure in the NFL.
- 1:48:05Speaker 9: I wish I knew Jalen Hurts the status for this.
- 1:48:09Speaker 4: Yeah he had.
- 1:48:11Speaker 5: I did see that they signed a former patriot Ian
- 1:48:15Speaker 5: book to the practice, So they feel like they need
- 1:48:19Speaker 5: a little extra layer of depth at any any regards.
- 1:48:22Speaker 5: So what is going on in the stadium.
- 1:48:24Speaker 4: Literally rolling in the supplies for Saturday's game?
- 1:48:28Speaker 6: It sounds like there's a dumb truck Philly by eight.
- 1:48:30Speaker 4: See usually we don't do a game on Friday a
- 1:48:32Speaker 4: show on Friday, so we don't hear that.
- 1:48:34Speaker 9: I'll take Philly Friday, but I'm gonna take the points
- 1:48:37Speaker 9: for Dallas.
- 1:48:38Speaker 7: Too much uncertainty, Paul, what are you doing Philly to win?
- 1:48:41Speaker 7: But I'm gonna take the points and happen?
- 1:48:43Speaker 4: Do we know about Hurts?
- 1:48:45Speaker 5: I do not. You are the only one among us.
- 1:48:49Speaker 7: You can't look it up. It's too late.
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: Okay, So Philly, what is Jalen Hurts status for a Sunday?
- 1:48:59Speaker 7: I'm not sure I know that one.
- 1:49:00Speaker 9: Please check this web page?
- 1:49:02Speaker 11: Does Evan know Jalen status the page?
- 1:49:06Speaker 4: Hey, Sarri, what is Jalen Hurts status for Sunday?
- 1:49:09Speaker 5: Do you know how Jalen hurts his status for Sunday?
- 1:49:12Speaker 6: But they did sign a quarterback to the practice club?
- 1:49:14Speaker 5: Yes, I form patriot our former patriots shot.
- 1:49:16Speaker 11: Up to sleep again?
- 1:49:17Speaker 7: Is useless?
- 1:49:18Speaker 9: It gives me a status's need?
- 1:49:23Speaker 6: I need a one shot one?
- 1:49:25Speaker 8: Please?
- 1:49:25Speaker 4: So we don't know.
- 1:49:27Speaker 6: We don't know.
- 1:49:27Speaker 7: We don't know. We're just gonna have to fly blind
- 1:49:28Speaker 7: on this one. You took, I took Philly, but I'm
- 1:49:31Speaker 7: gonna take the point.
- 1:49:33Speaker 10: I'm something to do the same these are two teams
- 1:49:35Speaker 10: that just hate each other, or at least the fan
- 1:49:38Speaker 10: bases do.
- 1:49:38Speaker 11: But I don't know. No, i'll split it unless I
- 1:49:42Speaker 11: know the status of hurts.
- 1:49:45Speaker 5: Uh, I'm gonna I'm gonna take Philly both ways. I
- 1:49:49Speaker 5: think they will roll. What do you got on this one?
- 1:49:53Speaker 5: I will take I'll play catch up with you as
- 1:49:55Speaker 5: we're going.
- 1:49:56Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll take Philly Philly in this game. I think
- 1:49:59Speaker 6: I don't see the Cowboys.
- 1:50:00Speaker 5: Competing Seattle at Chicago. I'm gonna Seattle by four.
- 1:50:05Speaker 6: I'm gonna take Seattle both ways in that game too.
- 1:50:07Speaker 6: I kind of like Seattle. I think they've been been
- 1:50:09Speaker 6: frisky this year.
- 1:50:10Speaker 5: Okay, Freddie, what do you got Philly?
- 1:50:11Speaker 4: I'm gonna take the Cowboys to cover, Cowboys to cover.
- 1:50:16Speaker 5: But no win, gotcha?
- 1:50:18Speaker 8: Uh?
- 1:50:18Speaker 4: Four h five CBS. The seven and eight Dolphins are
- 1:50:22Speaker 4: at the three and twelve.
- 1:50:24Speaker 5: Browns Miami by six and a half. Wow, on the.
- 1:50:28Speaker 9: Road, we're still going dtr Is that the direction things
- 1:50:33Speaker 9: are had?
- 1:50:34Speaker 16: I do not know.
- 1:50:34Speaker 9: Yeah, I'll take Miami to win, but I'm I'm splitting
- 1:50:37Speaker 9: the baby a lot today. I'm gonna split the baby
- 1:50:39Speaker 9: on this one too. So just maybe it's cold and
- 1:50:41Speaker 9: Miami is flat points points they do.
- 1:50:44Speaker 5: Not win if it's cold.
- 1:50:47Speaker 11: Finns up Dolphins, Dolphins.
- 1:50:51Speaker 6: I'm also gonna go at the Dolphins both ways. I
- 1:50:54Speaker 6: feel like the Browns have sort of given up as
- 1:50:56Speaker 6: well a little bit. And see some of the postgame
- 1:50:59Speaker 6: locker room stuff with the Dolphins, like the owner like
- 1:51:02Speaker 6: was like gave Mike McDaniel a game ball for them
- 1:51:05Speaker 6: winning last week and stuff like they'reancis. Yeah, yeah, but
- 1:51:11Speaker 6: I think they're trying to like say like, hey, this
- 1:51:13Speaker 6: is our coach, like he's not going anywhere.
- 1:51:15Speaker 5: I don't think he's going anywhere. They just gave him
- 1:51:17Speaker 5: an extension. But yeah, I'm with Evan. I'm going to
- 1:51:19Speaker 5: take Miami both ways. I think they'll do their best
- 1:51:22Speaker 5: to finish nine and eight and hope for the best
- 1:51:24Speaker 5: with you know, the teams that they need to lose.
- 1:51:27Speaker 5: But I think it's kind of psychological you still finish
- 1:51:30Speaker 5: with a winning record despite losing your quarterback for a month.
- 1:51:34Speaker 5: You know, if you had worse seasons than that.
- 1:51:35Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna have the Browns cover this game. I'm
- 1:51:38Speaker 4: gonna have them cover not a lock, not a lock,
- 1:51:42Speaker 4: but a home dog cover.
- 1:51:45Speaker 5: Barks louder cover home Dog, cover doc home Dog barks.
- 1:51:49Speaker 9: Loud Like for that, you gotta get like a picture
- 1:51:51Speaker 9: of him looking like gambling expert, like those.
- 1:51:54Speaker 5: Glasses and I know the ones that are Cincinnati.
- 1:51:57Speaker 11: We got to go to Vegas to do a photo
- 1:51:58Speaker 11: shoot with.
- 1:51:59Speaker 4: You, okay, in Denver, except we can't go in sports.
- 1:52:02Speaker 4: I get fire, then we'll stage it.
- 1:52:04Speaker 6: I feel like Cincinnati.
- 1:52:08Speaker 24: Not loving it.
- 1:52:09Speaker 4: H four five on Fox, the eleven and four Packers
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: are at the thirteen and two Viking.
- 1:52:15Speaker 5: Good game.
- 1:52:15Speaker 7: It's a game, a game.
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: It's a game, green Bay by one.
- 1:52:19Speaker 9: Game of the week for five, green Bay favorite over Minnesota.
- 1:52:22Speaker 8: I like it.
- 1:52:23Speaker 7: I think Evan and I both is that because.
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: The Vikings of wrapped up they're positioning.
- 1:52:27Speaker 5: Oh no, no, Vikings win two. They're the say favorite
- 1:52:32Speaker 5: by one by one. Well they're separated by like a game.
- 1:52:36Speaker 4: I know, but what's the point of one point favorite?
- 1:52:39Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 1:52:41Speaker 10: Draftings right now, they're actually what what do you got
- 1:52:47Speaker 10: on DraftKings? The live odds Vikings minus one.
- 1:52:51Speaker 6: That's where the ESPN said the money.
- 1:52:53Speaker 5: So I'll change since this morning, what do they know?
- 1:52:56Speaker 4: What do they know? Do they know That's why I'm
- 1:52:58Speaker 4: going could be just where the money is.
- 1:52:59Speaker 7: Green Bay.
- 1:53:00Speaker 9: Give me the pack I'm going to Green Bay.
- 1:53:02Speaker 6: To go Pack, Go go Pack. I think the Packers
- 1:53:06Speaker 6: are good, good, good, me too.
- 1:53:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll take Minnesota at home to finish off the season.
- 1:53:15Speaker 8: Sweet.
- 1:53:16Speaker 4: I agree with Paul. I mean the Vikings are good too, right.
- 1:53:19Speaker 7: Yeah, for sure, game.
- 1:53:20Speaker 6: I don't believe in the Vikings.
- 1:53:21Speaker 5: I think the Packers are the the darlings of the
- 1:53:26Speaker 5: They are a certain type of NFL fan. Ye, what's
- 1:53:29Speaker 5: that supposed to be, like the analytics crew?
- 1:53:31Speaker 6: Okay, well they but both these coaches honestly are I
- 1:53:34Speaker 6: think the Packers, like I saw something like Bart be quiet.
- 1:53:40Speaker 11: We can hear you, like Bart be careful to paint
- 1:53:42Speaker 11: out there.
- 1:53:43Speaker 5: It's like the only team that has like three or
- 1:53:46Speaker 5: four good receivers and a young quarterback evidently that's ever
- 1:53:50Speaker 5: come into the league, the Packers.
- 1:53:51Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:53:52Speaker 6: I just don't believe in Sam Donald yet. I feel
- 1:53:54Speaker 6: like Donald is going to Donald eventually.
- 1:53:56Speaker 4: Yeah, Donald, thirteen times he's done. All right, all right,
- 1:53:59Speaker 4: I'm gonna take the Vikings like a shot.
- 1:54:01Speaker 5: As well, just so you know, if if history is
- 1:54:05Speaker 5: any indication, we just lost another.
- 1:54:07Speaker 4: I know, I know when when we're the only ones
- 1:54:10Speaker 4: on an island, it's.
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: Uh Arizona at the Lar the Lar by seven.
- 1:54:15Speaker 6: Well, you know, I like the Cardinals, but I'm taking
- 1:54:16Speaker 6: the Lar in that game. But I'm gonna take my
- 1:54:19Speaker 6: Cardinals to cover.
- 1:54:20Speaker 4: My Cardinals, like the Cards eight twenty on NBC Universe.
- 1:54:25Speaker 4: So Telexito's and Peacock Peacock eight and seven Falcons are
- 1:54:31Speaker 4: at the ten and five Commanders.
- 1:54:34Speaker 5: The Commanders by four.
- 1:54:38Speaker 8: Jets.
- 1:54:39Speaker 4: So Pennix had a not that great a game, but
- 1:54:41Speaker 4: they scored a ton of points.
- 1:54:43Speaker 5: Well, they had two pick six.
- 1:54:47Speaker 9: You know, I'll take I'll take Washington at homes Seriously,
- 1:54:50Speaker 9: I'll lay the points.
- 1:54:52Speaker 5: Was Washington, Washington, Washington, Washington.
- 1:54:58Speaker 8: What do you got on that one?
- 1:55:00Speaker 5: Uh, Washington by.
- 1:55:02Speaker 6: Four mm hmm. I'm gonna take Washington both ways. I
- 1:55:07Speaker 6: think in a primetime game, Jayden Daniels wants to put
- 1:55:11Speaker 6: the put it back on. Notice that he's the rookie
- 1:55:13Speaker 6: of the year, So I'm gonna take Washington.
- 1:55:15Speaker 5: I did not see the game, but what I read
- 1:55:19Speaker 5: was that Pennix was far more effective and efficient than
- 1:55:23Speaker 5: the box school would indicate. Okay, I did see the
- 1:55:25Speaker 5: interception that he threw that the stiff tight end that
- 1:55:30Speaker 5: was supposed to transcend all tight Kyle Pitts pulled to
- 1:55:34Speaker 5: John new Smith and served it on a platter for
- 1:55:37Speaker 5: the defender. So I'm going to take Atlanta on the
- 1:55:41Speaker 5: road to pull off what I think is a mild
- 1:55:43Speaker 5: upset lot outright, No lo lot, Okay, No, I don't
- 1:55:47Speaker 5: do that. That's that's your territory.
- 1:55:48Speaker 4: I feel I've had too many dog covers this week,
- 1:55:52Speaker 4: so I'm gonna go with the favorite cover, Commanders both
- 1:55:55Speaker 4: Ways Monday Night on ESPN, ABC, ESPN plus Espen Deportes.
- 1:56:05Speaker 4: It's the thirteen to two Lions at the six and
- 1:56:09Speaker 4: ninety nine.
- 1:56:10Speaker 5: Ers Detroit by three and a half.
- 1:56:12Speaker 6: That's it, really.
- 1:56:15Speaker 5: Well, it's a lot of respect.
- 1:56:16Speaker 7: That is a lot of respect.
- 1:56:17Speaker 9: I'm gonna take Detroit and I'm gonna lay those points happily.
- 1:56:20Speaker 11: Lions Lions.
- 1:56:21Speaker 6: Yeah, this is uh, this is like a Kyle Shanahan
- 1:56:24Speaker 6: respect spread. I feel like Lions Lions. I don't see
- 1:56:28Speaker 6: how this is a three point spread.
- 1:56:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll tell you have to ask you U I'll
- 1:56:33Speaker 5: take Detroit both way.
- 1:56:34Speaker 4: You have to ask the question, why is it only
- 1:56:37Speaker 4: a three there's always a reason. They don't just arbitrarily
- 1:56:40Speaker 4: make these spreads.
- 1:56:42Speaker 6: There's a reason why trying to get people, dumb people
- 1:56:45Speaker 6: to bet on both sides.
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, that would be my guess. That's probably right.
- 1:56:49Speaker 4: All right, I'm gonna go, but I am going to
- 1:56:51Speaker 4: go with Detroit both ways. Notice now, people, I haven't
- 1:56:55Speaker 4: give you any locks this week, and the reason why is,
- 1:56:58Speaker 4: I don't take these lots lightly. If I don't feel
- 1:57:01Speaker 4: it's a lock, I don't give.
- 1:57:03Speaker 6: It Carolina Tampa Tampa by seven, and I'm gonna take Tampa,
- 1:57:08Speaker 6: but I'll take Carolina to cover.
- 1:57:10Speaker 4: That was the preamble over. I thought I would just
- 1:57:16Speaker 4: interrupted me.
- 1:57:17Speaker 5: I thought I would get these pigs done while you
- 1:57:18Speaker 5: were trying.
- 1:57:19Speaker 4: To explain to people, like why hasn't Fred given.
- 1:57:22Speaker 5: At a giant I have to feel it giant space
- 1:57:25Speaker 5: every in the.
- 1:57:30Speaker 4: Conversation.
- 1:57:31Speaker 11: He doesn't respect the wisdom.
- 1:57:32Speaker 4: Your spirit doesn't know what.
- 1:57:34Speaker 5: Does anyone else?
- 1:57:35Speaker 6: Two and five in this lock of the week, I
- 1:57:37Speaker 6: can't be perfect. Just need to cover that kind of spread.
- 1:57:41Speaker 4: Yeah, we go back to one o'clock on Saturday on
- 1:57:46Speaker 4: NFL Network, Reminder nine and six chargers at the three
- 1:57:50Speaker 4: and twelve Patriots the Lack by four and a half.
- 1:57:54Speaker 6: That's a fair spread.
- 1:57:55Speaker 7: That is a forced fair spread.
- 1:57:56Speaker 9: I was a little tempted to take Patriots for the points.
- 1:57:59Speaker 9: I do think the Lack will win this game. I
- 1:58:01Speaker 9: don't think the Patriots will cover four and a half.
- 1:58:04Speaker 9: I'm gonna take the Lack twenty seven twenty.
- 1:58:10Speaker 10: Yeah, the Patriots have been loving like the back door cover.
- 1:58:13Speaker 10: I tweeted about this and people were like, is this dirty?
- 1:58:15Speaker 11: This sounds intense, Like I thought that was very common,
- 1:58:19Speaker 11: very common, very common gambling parlance.
- 1:58:22Speaker 5: It's very very Do not blame you. Was a woman
- 1:58:24Speaker 5: in the sports media to be upset about.
- 1:58:27Speaker 6: That's what we call sexist.
- 1:58:29Speaker 7: That's another say.
- 1:58:30Speaker 11: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:58:31Speaker 10: Maybe the commenters on my tweet were just trying to
- 1:58:35Speaker 10: get a rise out of me, but it didn't work.
- 1:58:36Speaker 10: Happens anyways. I don't think this is a backdoor cover situation.
- 1:58:42Speaker 10: Chargers twenty seven Patriots twenty.
- 1:58:46Speaker 5: So.
- 1:58:47Speaker 6: I don't think the Chargers are going to run away
- 1:58:49Speaker 6: with this game necessarily on the scoreboard. Their offense is good,
- 1:58:53Speaker 6: not great, So I'm going to keep it a little
- 1:58:55Speaker 6: bit on the lower scoring side. I'm going to say
- 1:58:57Speaker 6: twenty to fourteen Chargers Patriots cover right, No, Patriots don't cover, they.
- 1:59:02Speaker 4: Do not come.
- 1:59:03Speaker 5: I have a similar game to Evan. I'm going to
- 1:59:05Speaker 5: go twenty three seventeen. I just don't think the Chargers
- 1:59:08Speaker 5: are high powered enough to run away with it. And
- 1:59:13Speaker 5: I like the way the Patriots started last week offensively.
- 1:59:16Speaker 5: We'll see if they can build off that and have
- 1:59:18Speaker 5: another good start, but I'll take the lack both ways.
- 1:59:22Speaker 4: Yeah, folks. No, it's not a folks of folks, but
- 1:59:25Speaker 4: I do have the lap covering twenty seven, twenty.
- 1:59:30Speaker 5: Three, twenty seven twenty predictions. Yeah, yeah, Vegas at New Orleans, Vegas,
- 1:59:37Speaker 5: Vegas by one and a half.
- 1:59:40Speaker 16: One.
- 1:59:41Speaker 5: I think people, I think people want Accountability's leading both
- 1:59:44Speaker 5: overall and with the spread. People want whatever we want
- 1:59:48Speaker 5: it on record, that's fair, thank you, thank you, Fred Fair.
- 1:59:51Speaker 4: That's fair.
- 1:59:52Speaker 7: Champs here, he's the draw, I mean, it's the draw.
- 1:59:55Speaker 7: How many units have you last week?
- 1:59:57Speaker 5: Your heater continued thirteen and three? Yes, I thought that
- 2:00:00Speaker 5: was worse.
- 2:00:01Speaker 7: What does that mean?
- 2:00:01Speaker 4: Hey?
- 2:00:01Speaker 7: Probably?
- 2:00:02Speaker 9: What does that mean when when I see, you know,
- 2:00:03Speaker 9: ESPN has other gambling people and they're like they've moved
- 2:00:06Speaker 9: this many units, like what does that mean?
- 2:00:08Speaker 4: Unit is one hundred dollars, right, I believe that's actly.
- 2:00:11Speaker 9: Yeah, Okay.
- 2:00:12Speaker 6: The other it is last Thursday, I come home, it's
- 2:00:15Speaker 6: doing the dishes, just like, oh, how's your day? And
- 2:00:17Speaker 6: I was like I'm doing awesome in the picks and
- 2:00:19Speaker 6: she was like oh, real, real happy.
- 2:00:21Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 2:00:23Speaker 4: Someone says that they better die.
- 2:00:25Speaker 5: That means a thousand dollars Vegas. Nolan's one and a half.
- 2:00:32Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll take Vegas. I guess I understand. What But mano,
- 2:00:36Speaker 6: that's a bad game.
- 2:00:36Speaker 5: Back to back Tennessee Jacksonville Jacksonville by one.
- 2:00:40Speaker 6: Jeez, can we have any good games? I'm gonna go Tennessee.
- 2:00:43Speaker 6: I think Jacksonville knows their coaches getting fired and was
- 2:00:47Speaker 6: on Mac Jones, So I'm gonna go to Tennessee.
- 2:00:49Speaker 5: There, all right, we're all caught up, all right, folks.
