Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the almost famous podcast with iHeartRadio. All Right,
- 0:05Speaker 1: Hi everybody, this is Trista.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I am filling in for Ben and Ashley with some
- 0:12Speaker 2: breaking news exciting Bachelor in Paradise. They just released the
- 0:18Speaker 2: first wave cast of Bachelor in Paradise, and I have
- 0:23Speaker 2: producer Maddie here to talk to me about our thoughts
- 0:28Speaker 2: on this cast, reveal kind of who we're shipping, who
- 0:32Speaker 2: we're liking, who maybe we're missing, and some things along
- 0:38Speaker 2: the way as well.
- 0:39Speaker 1: So welcome Maddie.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Hi, Hi, everybody. I'm so excited to get into the
- 0:44Speaker 3: first batch of Paradise.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yes, so exciting. I can't wait, can't wait for the
- 0:51Speaker 2: season to air.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I can't wait to.
- 0:54Speaker 2: Hear more about more people coming because I feel like
- 0:58Speaker 2: it's not always just first wave, you know. I would
- 1:03Speaker 2: love to have Ashley on because she's, you know, expert
- 1:06Speaker 2: all things Bachelor in Paradise to know if there's like
- 1:10Speaker 2: some statistics on how many relationships come from just the
- 1:15Speaker 2: first wave and how many relationships come from like the
- 1:18Speaker 2: second third, you know, more and more as we go.
- 1:21Speaker 2: I'm sure we could go on to Bachelor data on
- 1:23Speaker 2: their Instagram account, and I'm sure they have all this information.
- 1:26Speaker 2: But yeah, I'm really excited that we have just a
- 1:30Speaker 2: sneak peek of who's gonna be there and their vibe
- 1:35Speaker 2: kind of walking in. It's kind of a whole new vibe,
- 1:39Speaker 2: I would say. You know, it's very like the music
- 1:43Speaker 2: in the trailer was very island, and not that that's
- 1:46Speaker 2: any different, but our producer Heather pointed out to me
- 1:51Speaker 2: that in this trailer they're not using this song almost Paradise,
- 1:57Speaker 2: which they have used consistently I feel like from the
- 2:02Speaker 2: beginning of Bachelor in Paradise, right, So it's kind of
- 2:05Speaker 2: a new vibe.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Right totally. Do you think that we're going to get
- 2:09Speaker 3: a new theme song or are they just sort of
- 2:11Speaker 3: teasing us for the big reveal in the first episode
- 2:15Speaker 3: that they're going to drop the og theme song again.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I don't know. It's a good question.
- 2:20Speaker 2: I feel like it's very It was very and yes,
- 2:24Speaker 2: it was always on the same beach, right, So this
- 2:27Speaker 2: is different because now it's in Costa Rica, so you know,
- 2:30Speaker 2: it is a different location, but they always did it
- 2:35Speaker 2: on the beach or in the you know, the resort,
- 2:40Speaker 2: the Bachelor in Paradise resort in Mexico, and and and
- 2:45Speaker 2: so it's new. They're walking into new, a new place,
- 2:48Speaker 2: and it just, I don't know, it looks more like
- 2:51Speaker 2: high definition. I'm sure it was high definition you know before,
- 2:55Speaker 2: but it just has i don't know, kind of more sophisticated.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I feel like the intros back in the day were
- 3:02Speaker 2: very always very silly, like someone was, you know, naked
- 3:07Speaker 2: and covering themselves with the palm.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Leaf or you know, whatever it was.
- 3:10Speaker 2: All all of the intros are most of them, I'd
- 3:14Speaker 2: say ninety nine percent of them were very like silly
- 3:17Speaker 2: like Three's Company, you know, and if you know what
- 3:20Speaker 2: that is, you weren't even born when Three's Company was around.
- 3:25Speaker 3: Well, I'm silly and the cheesy, and I hope that
- 3:28Speaker 3: they bring back those intros. I think that we're sensing
- 3:32Speaker 3: more of that, like you said, polished professional vibe, but
- 3:36Speaker 3: let's bring back the fun. I'm excited to see what
- 3:39Speaker 3: this crew has for us. I hope it's entertaining. Like
- 3:44Speaker 3: we said, we've only gotten the first batch and that
- 3:46Speaker 3: did not include any of the Goldens yet, So I'm
- 3:50Speaker 3: excited to see who they bring down. I hope there's
- 3:53Speaker 3: some surprises.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yes, they're always there will be for sure, there will
- 3:57Speaker 2: be surprises. Who knows when they'll come, but there will
- 4:01Speaker 2: for sure be surprises. So let's go through the cast
- 4:05Speaker 2: and let y'all in on who is actually going to be.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Part of this first wave. So let's start it off.
- 4:13Speaker 2: We've got three girls from Grant season, which was the
- 4:16Speaker 2: most recent recent season, and that's Alex with an E.
- 4:20Speaker 2: I love that she spells her name with an E.
- 4:21Speaker 2: At the end, Bailey, who I loved from the season,
- 4:25Speaker 2: and Zoe and Alex was the one for those out
- 4:28Speaker 2: there who might not know them by name, who had
- 4:33Speaker 2: the date in the mall which they were playing on
- 4:35Speaker 2: the piano. It was really actually really cute. I love
- 4:39Speaker 2: her too. And Bailey is showing up to the beach.
- 4:42Speaker 2: She said her tagline was I'm trading the bob for
- 4:46Speaker 2: a bikini. And she's got these long braids in her hair.
- 4:50Speaker 2: She looks phenomenal. I love the braids. And then Zoe
- 4:56Speaker 2: is the one that, Oh, in the beginning, he was
- 5:00Speaker 2: the one who was interrupting people. She caused a little
- 5:04Speaker 2: bit of drama in the beginning with the interruptions or
- 5:08Speaker 2: multiple interruptions. And she was the one also that they
- 5:13Speaker 2: I think they first announced her on the after the
- 5:16Speaker 2: final rows for Grant.
- 5:19Speaker 1: So what do you think about those three so far?
- 5:22Speaker 3: Well, I have to say my favorite from Grant season
- 5:25Speaker 3: was Alex. I love that her tagline plays into her
- 5:29Speaker 3: intro to Grant. I left my no drama lama at home.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I'm also a baker the idea of taglines in general
- 5:35Speaker 3: as a Housewives fan, I have to say some of
- 5:39Speaker 3: the rest of the casts are not my favorite. But
- 5:42Speaker 3: we can get into that taglines.
- 5:43Speaker 2: You mean some of the rest of the cat yes,
- 5:45Speaker 2: got it, y yep.
- 5:46Speaker 3: I think some of them were trying a little bit
- 5:49Speaker 3: too hard to be funny, and some of them, yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 3: missed the mark a little bit. Just in general, it
- 5:55Speaker 3: seemed like they were just listing what they were looking
- 5:57Speaker 3: for on the beach instead of really making it at themselves.
- 6:01Speaker 2: I don't know that we can say that they came
- 6:03Speaker 2: up with these on their own.
- 6:06Speaker 3: I agree. I think, actually, yeah, rule.
- 6:11Speaker 2: So let's not like, you know, blame them for maybe
- 6:15Speaker 2: a bad, bad tagline, but I think that, yeah, the
- 6:20Speaker 2: ones that we like, I think are going to stand
- 6:22Speaker 2: out more. It's the same as when they did the
- 6:26Speaker 2: intros on the beach on previous seasons. There are some
- 6:29Speaker 2: that I was like, oh my gosh, that was so
- 6:31Speaker 2: cute and so like memorable, and then there were some
- 6:35Speaker 2: that I was just like, really, that was kind of boring,
- 6:38Speaker 2: you know. So there are definitely going to be taglines
- 6:42Speaker 2: that we like and taglines that we don't. So I'm
- 6:44Speaker 2: not a real Housewife viewer. I mean I've seen it before,
- 6:48Speaker 2: but not consistently. So this is a thing that the
- 6:51Speaker 2: Housewives do every season.
- 6:52Speaker 3: This is a thing and they base it on the
- 6:55Speaker 3: events of the most recent seasons. They change every season,
- 6:59Speaker 3: which is kind of fun.
- 7:01Speaker 1: I like that.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Don't know why they're choosing to bring it to Paradise
- 7:04Speaker 3: because it's not part of the regular Bachelor show, but
- 7:08Speaker 3: I think it's fun. I think they're trying something different,
- 7:10Speaker 3: and like I said, I think some of them, I
- 7:12Speaker 3: think some of them worked. Maybe we can get into
- 7:14Speaker 3: which were our favorites and not favorites once we get
- 7:17Speaker 3: through the rest of the cast.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I do want to say, we said Alex and Bailey's,
- 7:22Speaker 2: but Zoe's is here to Here's to shooting your shot again,
- 7:29Speaker 2: which I think is a little catchy. I mean, she
- 7:31Speaker 2: did talk about how she was shooting her shot when
- 7:34Speaker 2: she did those interruptions on Grant season, so that factors in.
- 7:38Speaker 2: But okay, so moving on from gen trans season, We've
- 7:44Speaker 2: got a lot of guys. We've got Brian, Hakeem, Ricky,
- 7:49Speaker 2: Jeremy Spencer, Sam m and Jonathan Who.
- 7:54Speaker 1: I mean, he was pretty much a shoe in.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I feel like anyone who watches the show probably could
- 8:01Speaker 2: guess that he was going to show up. He was
- 8:03Speaker 2: definitely one of the ones that I thought would be
- 8:06Speaker 2: on the show. Who were your favorites from this batch?
- 8:11Speaker 3: Ooh, that's tough. I've actually met Jonathan, have you? I
- 8:16Speaker 3: have at Ben's baby shower back in December. He was hilarious.
- 8:21Speaker 3: He has the perfect personality for it. He's so personable,
- 8:24Speaker 3: he's so charming. I think he's going to be very
- 8:26Speaker 3: popular on the Beach. I have to say I'm also
- 8:28Speaker 3: a Hakeem fan, probably because of his infamous reaction pases
- 8:33Speaker 3: at the finality the women. Ye know, he's always like
- 8:40Speaker 3: in shock right. I was also a big Spencer fan
- 8:45Speaker 3: during the seventh season. So those three I hope go
- 8:49Speaker 3: really far and I hope they find someone on the beach.
- 8:54Speaker 1: Yeah for sure.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Okay, so taglines, We've got Brian, who said hey, hey, hey,
- 8:59Speaker 2: I'm trying to fallen love here, but I think it
- 9:01Speaker 2: was He's got a big accent, right, yeah, he's.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Like if we could hear him say.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Yeah, true story, because I'm not gonna try. We've got
- 9:14Speaker 2: Hakeem's tagline is I'm here for sparks, the kisses, and
- 9:19Speaker 2: someone who gets my humor. So that's one of the ones.
- 9:22Speaker 2: I feel like they totally could have. They could have
- 9:28Speaker 2: honed in on those, like visuals like the big eyes,
- 9:31Speaker 2: like saying something like his big eyes or his reactions
- 9:35Speaker 2: or something like that instead of I'm here for sparks,
- 9:38Speaker 2: the kisses, and someone who gets my humor, because aren't
- 9:40Speaker 2: we all?
- 9:42Speaker 3: I love him, and I think that that was really generic.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yes true story?
- 9:46Speaker 2: Oh yes, Actually maybe that is hinting at his season
- 9:53Speaker 2: on Bachelor in Paradise, Like maybe there are some sparks
- 9:57Speaker 2: going on for him in Paradise and some kisses and
- 10:02Speaker 2: we'll get to see some of his humors, so that'll
- 10:04Speaker 2: be fun. Let's see who else was from that season. Jonathan.
- 10:09Speaker 2: His tagline is I'm just a medium king looking for
- 10:13Speaker 2: big love. Okay, tell me what the medium king is
- 10:15Speaker 2: because I don't remember that from previous season.
- 10:19Speaker 3: Okay, he refers to himself as a medium king because
- 10:22Speaker 3: he's not the tallest. He's not sure, but he's not
- 10:25Speaker 3: super tall. I would say he got it five seven,
- 10:29Speaker 3: five eight. So maybe he's looking for well, actually, I
- 10:34Speaker 3: don't want to say that he's looking for someone who's
- 10:35Speaker 3: more petite than he is.
- 10:37Speaker 2: No, I mean maybe maybe he isn't, because he does
- 10:40Speaker 2: say looking for big love, so maybe that means a
- 10:43Speaker 2: taller woman who knows. Okay, I love that. That's so
- 10:49Speaker 2: cute and that's a good one.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I like that.
- 10:52Speaker 2: And does he play up that medium king thing on
- 10:56Speaker 2: his social does that something that he's kind of known for? Okay, yes, okay,
- 11:01Speaker 2: we've also got Brian came, Ricky, Jeremy and Spencer.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Ricky's is ola.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Oh he said his tagline in Spanish, like, it's very
- 11:13Speaker 2: clear that he is fluent in Spanish, and I don't
- 11:17Speaker 2: know a woman out there who doesn't like a man
- 11:20Speaker 2: who can speak another language.
- 11:23Speaker 1: So I think that'll be fun.
- 11:25Speaker 3: I hope he's fluent in Spanish and that he didn't. Yeah, true,
- 11:30Speaker 3: because they're so true.
- 11:33Speaker 2: He could have and then there would be no connection
- 11:36Speaker 2: to why he said what he said. But hey, either
- 11:39Speaker 2: way and then it either way it's cute, and either
- 11:42Speaker 2: way he sounds good saying it, so I like it. Uh, Spencer,
- 11:48Speaker 2: no more shallow waters. I'm ready to get deep. Okay,
- 11:51Speaker 2: talk to me about the shallow waters thing. Where does
- 11:53Speaker 2: that come from?
- 11:55Speaker 3: Okay? I don't know off the top of my head either,
- 11:57Speaker 3: but I'm wondering if they're also hinting at his season
- 12:00Speaker 3: of paradise. Maybe he has a date where they go swimming,
- 12:03Speaker 3: they have a little kiss. I'm thinking that that's what
- 12:07Speaker 3: they could be referring to here.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Maybe he's referring to shallow waters like he didn't get
- 12:13Speaker 2: to hang out as long and get as deep into
- 12:17Speaker 2: a relationship with Jen as he would have liked. Maybe
- 12:20Speaker 2: that's it too, Who knows, but we'll find out, of course.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Okay, So.
- 12:26Speaker 2: There are some wild cards, and this one has been discussed,
- 12:31Speaker 2: I know on Almost Famous with Ben and Ashley Dale,
- 12:36Speaker 2: Claire Crawley's ex fiance, who you know, I think has
- 12:44Speaker 2: kind of laid low. I think since they broke up.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Maybe he hasn't, and maybe I just I'm not in
- 12:52Speaker 2: the know, but I feel like he's kind of laid low.
- 12:55Speaker 2: So the fact that he's coming back is really really
- 13:01Speaker 2: I think going to make people emotional in one way
- 13:06Speaker 2: or another, like they're either going to be really excited
- 13:08Speaker 2: to see him, or maybe they're gonna have the opposite reaction.
- 13:11Speaker 1: How are you feeling about Dale?
- 13:13Speaker 3: I was shocked to see his name on the cast announcement.
- 13:16Speaker 3: I really was, you know. I think it's interesting. He's
- 13:20Speaker 3: a little bit older than most of the other contestants.
- 13:23Speaker 3: We'll have to see if he's really able to gel
- 13:26Speaker 3: with the group. I think it would be really interesting.
- 13:30Speaker 3: Also if he's prepared to get engaged right now. You know,
- 13:33Speaker 3: heage declare very fast, and I wonder if he's ready
- 13:37Speaker 3: for another quick turnaround like that. I also have a
- 13:40Speaker 3: really crazy theory that I want to put out there.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Yes please, if Dale could possibly be thinking about being
- 13:49Speaker 3: the next Bachelor and he's going on Paradise to sort
- 13:53Speaker 3: of reintroduce himself to Bachelor Nation and test the waters
- 13:58Speaker 3: and put himself out there X I all move. I
- 14:04Speaker 3: don't know. I'm really excited to see what happens though,
- 14:06Speaker 3: and I do have some ideas of who I think
- 14:08Speaker 3: he could be paired well with.
- 14:11Speaker 1: So we'll definitely get into that.
- 14:13Speaker 2: But I want to go back to what you just said,
- 14:16Speaker 2: and that is that he is thinking that he could
- 14:20Speaker 2: position himself to be the next Bachelor. I think that
- 14:23Speaker 2: is so smart, and I think there is definitely some
- 14:28Speaker 2: possible validity to that. But yes, I feel like he's
- 14:33Speaker 2: been kind of under the radar for so long. And
- 14:36Speaker 2: you know, the breakup after he and Claire left the
- 14:41Speaker 2: show engaged was definitely dramatic, you know, one of the
- 14:48Speaker 2: most dramatic things to happen in Bachelor Land, but I
- 14:51Speaker 2: think it was It was really dramatic. So and I
- 14:57Speaker 2: don't think people looked very highly on I know that
- 15:02Speaker 2: if you're friends with Claire, which I am, I definitely
- 15:05Speaker 2: was kind of siding with her. And yeah, I think
- 15:11Speaker 2: I'm wondering what she will have to say about it. Actually,
- 15:15Speaker 2: do you know if she's had anything to say about
- 15:18Speaker 2: this yet. Maybe we need to have her on the podcast.
- 15:20Speaker 3: We should ask her what her thoughts are. Maybe once
- 15:23Speaker 3: it starts airing and we start to see what he's
- 15:27Speaker 3: doing down on the beach, she can come and way, yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 3: but I don't think she said yeah publicly, so that
- 15:32Speaker 3: would be.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Okay an idea to ask her.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Yeah, we need to have her on the podcast. Okay,
- 15:39Speaker 2: let's see we've got oh. I wanted to get into
- 15:42Speaker 2: his tagline because he said something about football, and I'm
- 15:48Speaker 2: just going to leave it at that. It was about
- 15:49Speaker 2: football and nothing about how he had been on Bachelorette before,
- 15:57Speaker 2: that he had been engaged before, Like there was nothing
- 16:00Speaker 2: like that, and I feel like they could have like
- 16:03Speaker 2: poked fun at at that at himself. I think that's
- 16:07Speaker 2: always a really attractive feature when someone has some humor
- 16:14Speaker 2: about or you know, kind of admits to things that
- 16:19Speaker 2: they've maybe done poorly in the past or maybe not
- 16:23Speaker 2: made the best decisions in regard to So I feel
- 16:27Speaker 2: like they lost an opportunity there to have that tag nine.
- 16:30Speaker 2: Not to say that the tagline is everything, Like obviously
- 16:33Speaker 2: he'll be on the beach having lots of conversations, probably
- 16:37Speaker 2: with lots of women or maybe just one or two.
- 16:40Speaker 2: We'll have to see, but hopefully he'll get into you know,
- 16:46Speaker 2: what happened with him and Claire and take some ownership
- 16:51Speaker 2: of things that he's done.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Totally, and I think they really threw it back with
- 16:56Speaker 3: this tagline. They're almost giving him a clean slate. Yeah,
- 17:00Speaker 3: a little bit of acknowledgment that you see it's a
- 17:02Speaker 3: major veteran from Bachelor Nation.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yeah, totally. Oh this is a good one. Bachelor Season
- 17:21Speaker 2: twenty seven alum and Bachelor in Paradise alum Cat who
- 17:26Speaker 2: actually got engaged, didn't she last season of Bachelor in
- 17:30Speaker 2: Paradise John Henry?
- 17:32Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:34Speaker 2: So that is a huge one for me, considering she
- 17:38Speaker 2: was engaged and is coming back to a beach, not
- 17:42Speaker 2: the beach that she got engaged on, but to a
- 17:45Speaker 2: beach on Bachelor in Paradise to try again. And I
- 17:49Speaker 2: love that her tagline taps into that. She says, I'm back.
- 17:54Speaker 2: You know what they say, cats have nine lives. I
- 17:57Speaker 2: love that tagline. That might be one of my favorites.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I thought it was so and it's funny, and she
- 18:03Speaker 3: takes then it herself that she tried to try again.
- 18:07Speaker 3: You know, I had really mixed feelings about Cat last season.
- 18:12Speaker 3: It's hard. She was the main character of Paradise, I
- 18:15Speaker 3: would argue, but her time was really tumultuous. She also
- 18:19Speaker 3: wasn't the nicest and so I'm really interested to see
- 18:24Speaker 3: if she comes back this season as the villain or
- 18:26Speaker 3: if she's gonna play it more low key since she's
- 18:29Speaker 3: now an alum and she's gonna be one of the
- 18:32Speaker 3: more seasoned members of this cast.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Yes, I totally agree, And I have to go back
- 18:39Speaker 2: to the tagline for one second and say that the
- 18:42Speaker 2: end of it, she it went like a you know,
- 18:46Speaker 2: a cat with his claws out, and I was like, Oh,
- 18:50Speaker 2: that's perfect. Like the little audio right after she says
- 18:54Speaker 2: her tagline was actually perfect to like kind of get
- 18:58Speaker 2: into what you were talking about. That she wasn't maybe
- 19:02Speaker 2: the nicest on the last season of Bachelor in Paradise.
- 19:05Speaker 2: So I just hope that there's some kind of redemption
- 19:09Speaker 2: and maybe she learned a little bit from watching herself
- 19:14Speaker 2: on Bachelor in Paradise last time.
- 19:15Speaker 3: We'll see if she comes with the claws out this
- 19:17Speaker 3: time exactly.
- 19:21Speaker 2: Let's see, we've got from season seventeen justin Glaize, We've
- 19:25Speaker 2: got from Joey's season Jess and Lexi, who I love.
- 19:30Speaker 2: We're going to come back to her in just a second.
- 19:32Speaker 2: We've also got Kyle Howard, who was who Katie Thurston
- 19:37Speaker 2: sent home on week two, and I think that covers
- 19:42Speaker 2: all of the cast members. I will say Lexi was
- 19:47Speaker 2: one of my favorites in the beginning of Joey's season,
- 19:51Speaker 2: and when I saw the cast pictures, I am gonna
- 19:57Speaker 2: put it out there now. I have no idea if
- 20:00Speaker 2: this will happen. I'm usually pretty bad at this, but
- 20:04Speaker 2: I would ship Lexi and Sam M from jen Trans season.
- 20:10Speaker 2: I just feel like they would look they just based
- 20:15Speaker 2: on looks period. I think they're both gorgeous people and
- 20:20Speaker 2: just based on looks. I don't know too much about
- 20:22Speaker 2: them and their personalities, but I would say, just based
- 20:27Speaker 2: on looks, I would ship Lexi and Sam and then Alex.
- 20:32Speaker 2: We said it already Alex and Jonathan. Who else was
- 20:35Speaker 2: I think? Who were Off the top of your head,
- 20:37Speaker 2: who are you?
- 20:37Speaker 1: Who are you shipping?
- 20:39Speaker 3: Okay? Wow? Sam M? Are we talking about the same
- 20:42Speaker 3: Sam M with the tattoo sleeves?
- 20:45Speaker 1: I think so? But wait, tell me remind.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Me of such a hot take Trista. He I was
- 20:53Speaker 3: going to pick him for villain. I wasn't even going
- 20:57Speaker 3: to give him a ship, but what physically very attractive objectively, however,
- 21:06Speaker 3: his behavior on John's season, I'm not going to give
- 21:10Speaker 3: him a ship.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Okay, wait, will you remind me of his behavior? Tell
- 21:15Speaker 2: me and the rest of the viewers if they can't
- 21:17Speaker 2: remember like me because they don't have a brain like me.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Okay, I need to actually look up his line.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll say it. Okay, So Sam's tagline for this season.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Sam's is I'm a Southern boy with a shy streak.
- 21:33Speaker 2: So there's not much there. Like, that's pretty short. So
- 21:37Speaker 2: tell me what he was known for. I'm sure I'll
- 21:40Speaker 2: remember it once you say it. But I feel like
- 21:44Speaker 2: at this point, I've been around for twenty three years.
- 21:49Speaker 1: How many seasons?
- 21:51Speaker 2: How many years have gone by since two thousand and two? Yeah,
- 21:54Speaker 2: twenty three years.
- 21:56Speaker 1: So it's been a while, and.
- 21:57Speaker 2: There's so many people on this show. I just cannot
- 22:00Speaker 2: keep them all straight. So please, Maddie, remind me of
- 22:04Speaker 2: Sam and his wrongdoings on GEN season.
- 22:10Speaker 3: Samm was just really known for being a little bit
- 22:13Speaker 3: full of himself, so got it he I would say
- 22:17Speaker 3: this was a tagline. His line from GEN season was
- 22:21Speaker 3: keeping the main thing the main thing, and the main
- 22:24Speaker 3: thing was himself. And then after GEN season ended, he
- 22:30Speaker 3: announced that he was starting his own podcast.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Oh interesting, Well, we don't need to get into that,
- 22:37Speaker 2: but that is so he may be one of the
- 22:40Speaker 2: ones that people say are not there for the right reasons.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Is this what we're going, Is this what we're assuming, So.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I think we might be able to assign him the
- 22:50Speaker 3: villain role.
- 22:50Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Hey, don't be sorry. This is your opinion,
- 22:56Speaker 1: and you never know.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Like I feel like so many times on Paradise and
- 23:00Speaker 2: even on Bachelor or Bachelorette, people become villains who I
- 23:06Speaker 2: never would have guessed would have become a villain. And
- 23:08Speaker 2: some people who I think are going to be villains villains,
- 23:11Speaker 2: like get.
- 23:12Speaker 1: That redemption story.
- 23:13Speaker 2: So we never know, you know, we'll have to wait
- 23:16Speaker 2: and see what actually happens. But I think that's interesting.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Another thing is that Kat was a little bit of
- 23:23Speaker 2: a villain last Bachelor in Paradise, So maybe we ship
- 23:26Speaker 2: the villains together, you know what.
- 23:29Speaker 3: I don't hate that. Let's see what happens there. I
- 23:32Speaker 3: think they could hit it off. They have similar personalities.
- 23:36Speaker 2: I got to.
- 23:37Speaker 3: See Lexi though, actually go on a date with Dale.
- 23:41Speaker 3: I think that. I don't know if you remember, but
- 23:43Speaker 3: from Joey's season, Lexi is very ready to get her
- 23:47Speaker 3: married life started. She's spoken openly about being scared of
- 23:53Speaker 3: having reproductive about how she wants to try as soon
- 23:57Speaker 3: as possible and be a young mom. I think that
- 23:59Speaker 3: that could be a great pairing. They're not that far
- 24:02Speaker 3: apart in age, and they seem like they could be
- 24:05Speaker 3: on the same level of maturity in terms of actually
- 24:08Speaker 3: beginning a serious relationship after Paradise.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I love that ship. I actually have to say something
- 24:15Speaker 1: really funny.
- 24:16Speaker 2: So I was looking at I was looking for the
- 24:20Speaker 2: trailer on our almost famous Instagram page, and I came
- 24:26Speaker 2: across when the caster was revealed, and I looked at
- 24:29Speaker 2: the comments, and someone put, honestly, I would like to
- 24:32Speaker 2: ship anyone who was there for clout. We all missed
- 24:36Speaker 2: the seasons past that had people there who genuinely wanted
- 24:39Speaker 2: a connection. And someone said, I don't think shipping means
- 24:43Speaker 2: what you think it means. So for all those people
- 24:48Speaker 2: who are maybe listening, shipping means putting them together in
- 24:52Speaker 2: a relationship in your in your like dreamland of who
- 24:56Speaker 2: you want to have a relationship out of this show.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Yes, thank you for clarifying, Yes, we're not shipping them
- 25:04Speaker 3: off the beach.
- 25:06Speaker 2: No, but that would actually be kind of funny to
- 25:09Speaker 2: actually ship them and maybe put them and ship together
- 25:13Speaker 2: and leave.
- 25:16Speaker 3: There was a fan boat that you could sort of
- 25:23Speaker 3: kick people off the beach. Oh every week.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Oh that's a brilliant idea.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Kind of like in Hunger Games when they send the
- 25:34Speaker 2: like the drones or helicopters and.
- 25:37Speaker 1: They drop like supplies.
- 25:39Speaker 2: You could actually the opposite, like the fans could all
- 25:42Speaker 2: chime in.
- 25:43Speaker 1: And have someone like your time is up, so so sorry.
- 25:53Speaker 1: That is hysterical.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I love that that A Big Brother does that too,
- 25:57Speaker 2: where they where they have the fans kind of chime
- 26:02Speaker 2: in and like win different things along the season.
- 26:04Speaker 1: They should do that.
- 26:05Speaker 2: They should have like fan interaction, like not physically there
- 26:10Speaker 2: because it tapes obviously, but they should do that somehow.
- 26:16Speaker 2: I don't know how they could do that, but I
- 26:17Speaker 2: would love to see a little fan interaction.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:22Speaker 2: So I'm also getting to the point. Oh Love Island
- 26:27Speaker 2: does that with fan interaction.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Oh, I love that. I think that's genius. Okay.
- 26:34Speaker 2: So Dale said in a statement why he decided to
- 26:39Speaker 2: go on Paradise, and I think it's interesting. He said,
- 26:41Speaker 2: I wanted to give up control and just see what
- 26:44Speaker 2: was out there. I'm really head down with travel and
- 26:49Speaker 2: working projects and things like that, but I definitely realized
- 26:52Speaker 2: that there's more out there. And sometimes you have to
- 26:55Speaker 2: remove yourself from certain situations to get more clarity on that.
- 26:59Speaker 2: So I'm interested to know what kind of clarity he
- 27:03Speaker 2: wants and if he's truly looking for a relationship. And
- 27:15Speaker 2: of course this is taken completely out of context, so
- 27:18Speaker 2: I haven't read the entire interview and everything that he said,
- 27:23Speaker 2: but I wonder if he spoke at man maybe, you know,
- 27:27Speaker 2: if he spoke to actually wanting to walk away from
- 27:31Speaker 2: Paradise with a relationship or he just wanted to see
- 27:35Speaker 2: what was out there.
- 27:37Speaker 3: I think he's keeping it intentionally vague. Ah. You know.
- 27:42Speaker 3: His follow up was that he said, I think the
- 27:44Speaker 3: biggest thing now is that I feel really clear about
- 27:47Speaker 3: what I want. But he doesn't saying what he wants to. Uh,
- 27:51Speaker 3: he's not letting us know what he wants. He might know,
- 27:53Speaker 3: but we don't know. And he says, yeah, I'm not
- 27:56Speaker 3: only going to take a different approach, and he thinks
- 27:58Speaker 3: the framework and the setup of this show is a
- 28:01Speaker 3: lot different.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Very interesting, So I wonder, and that might be him
- 28:06Speaker 2: leaving us hanging, or might be like the actual marketing
- 28:11Speaker 2: team producers who are leaving us hanging because they want
- 28:15Speaker 2: us all to tune in and find out what that
- 28:17Speaker 2: actually means. Okay, who do you think other than Sam
- 28:34Speaker 2: would be a likely villain? I feel like there are
- 28:38Speaker 2: so many people on this show, like Justin and Hakim
- 28:42Speaker 2: and Alex and Lexi that are definitely not going to
- 28:46Speaker 2: be villains. In my mind, I can't see them being villains.
- 28:50Speaker 2: But I feel like Zoe could possibly be possibly be
- 28:55Speaker 2: a villain, or maybe she gets a redemption story.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Who do you think?
- 28:59Speaker 3: Oh, I feel like it's it's a tough call because
- 29:01Speaker 3: I can totally see her being a villain unintentionally. I
- 29:04Speaker 3: think that's her biggest step is that she just doesn't
- 29:08Speaker 3: She didn't understand that when she was interrupting that it
- 29:10Speaker 3: made the other women upset with her, and I feel
- 29:13Speaker 3: like she could do that again and unintentionally become the
- 29:17Speaker 3: seasoned villain. So we'll see if she's learning fro mistakes
- 29:21Speaker 3: and if she's from any of the community communication that
- 29:25Speaker 3: she had with the other women on Grant season. If
- 29:28Speaker 3: she hasn't, then I think she could set herself up
- 29:30Speaker 3: for a lot of conflict.
- 29:33Speaker 1: You're so right.
- 29:34Speaker 2: I feel like that's part of why it drives me crazy,
- 29:37Speaker 2: because people either want to do that on their own
- 29:42Speaker 2: and interrupt conversations, or they have producers who are saying
- 29:46Speaker 2: like you should go interrupt that conversation and either say
- 29:51Speaker 2: no or to the producers who's asking you to do that,
- 29:55Speaker 2: or have the wherewithal to know that that can be
- 29:59Speaker 2: taken as really rude, especially if you do it multiple
- 30:03Speaker 2: times and you've had time with him already, which I
- 30:08Speaker 2: know happened with her and Grant, she already had like
- 30:12Speaker 2: one on one time on at least one date and
- 30:15Speaker 2: then interrupted again. So I just feel like there's just
- 30:21Speaker 2: a part of all of this that you know, treat
- 30:23Speaker 2: others how you want to be treated in life in general,
- 30:27Speaker 2: in the Bachelor, in Bachelor in Paradise. Okay, who do
- 30:34Speaker 2: you think is going to be the crier of the
- 30:37Speaker 2: season out of this first batch at least?
- 30:40Speaker 3: Hmmm? I think just from Joey's season, her tagline is
- 30:47Speaker 3: I don't kiss a smoochy pooh ah oh.
- 30:54Speaker 2: No, remind me how that came up, Like I remember
- 30:58Speaker 2: her saying smoochy pooh, but remind me if you remember.
- 31:04Speaker 3: I remember it a little bit of context. It was
- 31:07Speaker 3: as big as she maybe thought it was to make
- 31:10Speaker 3: it a whole tagline. I remember asking for a smoochie poo,
- 31:14Speaker 3: but it wasn't like her thing Like, she didn't intro
- 31:16Speaker 3: herself to Joey saying can I have a smooth chiepo
- 31:22Speaker 3: That would be weird. No. I give her a being
- 31:26Speaker 3: on that tagline though, for trying and for trying to
- 31:29Speaker 3: be unique. Again. I don't know if this was production
- 31:31Speaker 3: or if this was her, but it gets a bag.
- 31:34Speaker 1: I'm sure.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure it was production who set those taglines.
- 31:38Speaker 2: They might have talked to them about it, but I'm
- 31:41Speaker 2: pretty sure that that production was like, Okay, this is
- 31:43Speaker 2: what you're gonna say.
- 31:46Speaker 3: He was a big She was a big crier, I
- 31:49Speaker 3: have to say, And I think it was hard because,
- 31:53Speaker 3: you know, she had a big conflict with Maria and
- 31:56Speaker 3: Joey's season and they really went at it. And in
- 31:59Speaker 3: some case I think that her edit portrayed her as
- 32:02Speaker 3: a villain when she maybe was not necessarily the instigator
- 32:08Speaker 3: and she was trying to resolve it. I really thought
- 32:10Speaker 3: she redeemed herself at the Women Tell All. Actually, so
- 32:15Speaker 3: hopefully she doesn't cry on Paradise, but if she does,
- 32:20Speaker 3: it's a guy.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Hey.
- 32:22Speaker 2: You know what, there's worse things I mean, look at Ashley.
- 32:25Speaker 2: She was the biggest crier of bachelor in Paradise history,
- 32:28Speaker 2: and now she's happily married with two beautiful boys. So
- 32:32Speaker 2: you know, there are worse things than a crier on
- 32:35Speaker 2: the beaches of Paradise.
- 32:37Speaker 3: So true, and I would love to see Jess get
- 32:40Speaker 3: together I think with Hm looking through our list, Spencer
- 32:48Speaker 3: or maybe even Jonathan.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Ooh, that's a good one. I like that one. We
- 32:55Speaker 2: also did not mention.
- 32:59Speaker 1: Let's see where is it. I just saw this tagline.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Kyle, you may not remember me, but after this, you'll
- 33:06Speaker 2: never forget me. I'm like, that's actually really cute because.
- 33:11Speaker 3: He's playing into being sent home week two. I love
- 33:15Speaker 3: it totally.
- 33:17Speaker 1: I love that.
- 33:18Speaker 2: So we'll see if he actually is someone who will
- 33:23Speaker 2: be memorable and is able to, you know, forge a
- 33:25Speaker 2: relationship on the beaches of Paradise.
- 33:28Speaker 3: Trista is there? Since they haven't announced the Goldens cast,
- 33:32Speaker 3: is there any yes I want to see on the beach?
- 33:35Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I love my Goldens. I just love
- 33:38Speaker 2: my Goldens and I'm sad that they didn't announce it yet,
- 33:41Speaker 2: but obviously it's coming because there have been you know,
- 33:46Speaker 2: there's been talk about it, and obviously they announced a
- 33:50Speaker 2: few people who were coming, or maybe it was just
- 33:52Speaker 2: Leslie and.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Gary.
- 33:54Speaker 3: I think it's just lostly. Gary confirmed her right now, Okay,
- 33:58Speaker 3: got it.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I Jonathan Rome, so I'm hoping to see him. I
- 34:03Speaker 2: think he's perfect for Paradise. He is the kindest man.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Bob and I had the pleasure of interviewing him on
- 34:11Speaker 2: the podcast, and oh, I just love Jonathan, so I'd
- 34:15Speaker 2: love to see him. Nancy is one of my favorites
- 34:18Speaker 2: from Golden Bachelor. I would love to see Nancy. And then,
- 34:23Speaker 2: of course I'm pretty positive ninety nine percent sure that
- 34:27Speaker 2: Kathy will be there because she can't not be there.
- 34:32Speaker 2: You know, Kathy is good television. She's great television. I
- 34:36Speaker 2: know she's amazing. So I think Kathy and Nancy would
- 34:39Speaker 2: be great to see them.
- 34:43Speaker 1: And oh gosh, he's one more.
- 34:47Speaker 2: I feel like, not unfortunately for them, but Kelsey's dad
- 34:52Speaker 2: like would have loved to see him, but I believe
- 34:53Speaker 2: he's in a relationship, so I'm pretty sure that he
- 34:57Speaker 2: will not be on the beaches of Paradise.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Would have loved to see him.
- 35:00Speaker 2: So yes, I feel like, just in general, I love
- 35:05Speaker 2: that Paradise is still going strong because there are so
- 35:11Speaker 2: many amazing relationships to come out of this show, and
- 35:15Speaker 2: I love the entertainment of it all. I love throwing
- 35:17Speaker 2: them all on a beach. I love that Hannah Brown's
- 35:19Speaker 2: there this season with Wells and Jesse of course, and
- 35:26Speaker 2: I'm really excited to first tune in. It's going to
- 35:29Speaker 2: be premiering on ABC on Monday, July seventh at eight
- 35:34Speaker 2: pm Central, so you guys can all tune in and
- 35:36Speaker 2: of course come back to Almost Famous. We will definitely
- 35:41Speaker 2: be talking about Paradise on the pod, and Maddie, I
- 35:45Speaker 2: just want to say thank you for joining me today
- 35:47Speaker 2: on this breaking news story and talking all things Paradise.
- 35:52Speaker 3: Thank you for having me. This was so fun.
- 36:02Speaker 1: You'll never your love
