- 1:02Speaker 2: welcome to Juicy Scoop.
- 1:05Speaker 4: I have your favorite smarty pants, funny girl, Kate Casey,
- 1:10Speaker 4: mother of five, host of Reality Life with Kate Casey,
- 1:15Speaker 4: my dear friend.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Welcome back to Juicy Scoop.
- 1:17Speaker 3: I'm very happy to be here.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Always.
- 1:20Speaker 4: So Kate, you have five kids and you are up to,
- 1:24Speaker 4: you're just entering the journey of where your daughter might
- 1:27Speaker 4: go to college, which is a fun time. I Personally
- 1:32Speaker 4: have some questions about the Alabama moms decorating the dorms.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes. Your daughter is looking at Southern schools.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 2: How will you manage all of that? I don't know.
- 1:47Speaker 3: I feel like I'm really good at finding friends who
- 1:50Speaker 3: are really good at stuff like that.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:52Speaker 3: And they kind of take care of it for me.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Here's the blessing of having a lot of kids. Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 3: People don't ask you to do anything because they think
- 2:00Speaker 3: you're too busy.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Oh, that's great.
- 2:01Speaker 3: So I've actually gotten away with not having to do
- 2:04Speaker 3: a lot. But I always find the people that I
- 2:06Speaker 3: think are good at stuff like that, and they'll find
- 2:09Speaker 3: the way to do it without spending as much money
- 2:12Speaker 3: or spending as much time on it.
- 2:13Speaker 4: Well, my mother, mother of five, that exact thing, though,
- 2:19Speaker 4: was she, on the other hand, didn't want to owe
- 2:21Speaker 4: anyone a favor because So she continued to drive carpool
- 2:26Speaker 4: for the school. Cause like they went to Catholic school.
- 2:28Speaker 4: So there weren't buses and you had to drive a
- 2:30Speaker 4: carpool for like the kids on your street. Right after
- 2:32Speaker 4: she gave birth to me and she fell asleep at
- 2:35Speaker 4: the wheel.
- 2:35Speaker 3: What?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yes.
- 2:37Speaker 4: Cause she was so sleep deprived and you know, um,
- 2:42Speaker 4: And my brothers were, you know, in the car. And
- 2:45Speaker 4: they're like, I think she's dead. And she's like, no,
- 2:46Speaker 4: I'm alive. And they're like, no, the hamster that we
- 2:48Speaker 4: took home from school. Like they were just– everything was
- 2:51Speaker 4: just chaotic. And so she survived and did fine in life.
- 2:56Speaker 4: But it was because she was like, I just didn't
- 2:58Speaker 4: want to owe any.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Other mother anything. So I wasn't going to take off
- 3:01Speaker 2: a week of the carpool.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I get that.
- 3:03Speaker 2: This is the way people were.
- 3:05Speaker 4: And now they just know not to ask the mother
- 3:07Speaker 4: of five to do anything. So I love that for you.
- 3:10Speaker 4: You know, when I was– dealing with Brandon moving in,
- 3:14Speaker 4: I kind of hired a mom. I found a Juicy Scooper.
- 3:18Speaker 4: I reached, I kind of was like, I just need
- 3:20Speaker 4: someone to help. She came down and we're moving up
- 3:24Speaker 4: to Oregon. So a lot of people thought he had
- 3:26Speaker 4: lesbian moms, which was great. They were like, they just
- 3:30Speaker 4: thought we were a couple. And so we moved and
- 3:32Speaker 4: she helped with all the things. But now there's actually,
- 3:35Speaker 4: you can hire an Alabama mom.
- 3:39Speaker 3: What?
- 3:39Speaker 2: Yes. There's a whole business now.
- 3:43Speaker 4: So you're a mom. You've gone through it. You're an
- 3:45Speaker 4: empty nest or whatever the case is.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Yes.
- 3:48Speaker 4: And for a service fee a month, you can have
- 3:51Speaker 4: this mom check on your daughter. She can help with move-in.
- 3:56Speaker 4: She can check it. There's like a tiered thing. One
- 4:00Speaker 4: includes grocery shopping, doing the laundry, folding your clothes, checking
- 4:05Speaker 4: on them, doing welfare checks on them. and everything to
- 4:09Speaker 4: keep you at home, peace of mind. So you have
- 4:13Speaker 4: a hire a mom situation. Okay.
- 4:17Speaker 3: This would be good for me if I could have
- 4:19Speaker 3: them just show up and like yell at her to
- 4:21Speaker 3: clean stuff up. I do think I've prepared her to
- 4:23Speaker 3: be independent because she has said to me that when
- 4:26Speaker 3: she goes on trips, like dance trips or something that
- 4:29Speaker 3: the other girls seem to call their mothers more. And
- 4:31Speaker 3: she doesn't really call me that much. And I think
- 4:33Speaker 3: it's because I went away to boarding school when I
- 4:36Speaker 3: was 14. So I was already used to not... Even
- 4:39Speaker 3: when I went to college, my friends would go, call
- 4:41Speaker 3: me when you get in from the bar. And I'd
- 4:42Speaker 3: be like, why?
- 4:44Speaker 4: Do you remember The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock based
- 4:47Speaker 4: on the true story? In it, Kathy Bates played the
- 4:50Speaker 4: tutor that they hired for their adopted son. And when
- 4:54Speaker 4: they got him into, I think it was Old Miss.
- 4:57Speaker 4: I can't remember where the... I think you are right, yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 4: And Kathy Bates' character is like, I'm going with you.
- 5:02Speaker 4: They got me a condo because they were so rich.
- 5:04Speaker 2: And she was going to be his personal... tutor, helper.
- 5:08Speaker 3: I need this.
- 5:08Speaker 4: And I remember going, oh my God, I wonder if
- 5:12Speaker 4: more like really wealthy parents do that just for peace
- 5:15Speaker 4: of mind, knowing that their kid won't miss class. I mean,
- 5:17Speaker 4: there's a lot of things where I'm like that I've
- 5:20Speaker 4: learned over the years and with three kids in college,
- 5:22Speaker 4: like when's the deadline where you can drop the class
- 5:25Speaker 4: and pick another or drop the class to get your
- 5:28Speaker 4: money back or drop the class and not get the W.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:32Speaker 4: Like, what are those deadlines? And so, anyway, good luck
- 5:36Speaker 4: with all that. I'm glad my time is almost done.
- 5:38Speaker 3: So if somebody is listening to this, is watching this,
- 5:40Speaker 3: and they live near Ole Miss, and.
- 5:42Speaker 2: You want to be friends with Kate, please reach out
- 5:45Speaker 2: to me. Please.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Yeah, they're actually going to go to the Vanderbilt-Ole Miss
- 5:50Speaker 3: game this weekend.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Fun.
- 5:51Speaker 3: She's really excited, and she's got the whole outfit.
- 5:53Speaker 2: I think that's a perfect way. I think that's a
- 5:54Speaker 2: whole way to kind of get the vibe of it.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:57Speaker 2: All right. Well, there's some sad news in the reality world.
- 6:01Speaker 4: Whitney Vowles of, and I don't mean to do her voice,
- 6:04Speaker 4: but I can't help talking about her without saying it.
- 6:07Speaker 4: She is on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. She
- 6:11Speaker 4: and her husband, it's actually her second husband.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 6:13Speaker 4: But I don't think she, she didn't have any kids
- 6:15Speaker 4: with her first husband. They met working on, at a job,
- 6:20Speaker 4: at an MLM type of job.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Now, was he her boss?
- 6:23Speaker 2: Yes.
- 6:24Speaker 3: And he's 20 years older.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I don't know if he's 20. I don't know if
- 6:28Speaker 2: he's 20. He looks pretty good if it's 20. Because
- 6:31Speaker 2: she just turned 40. If he's only 60, maybe he's 60.
- 6:35Speaker 2: He looks good. Anyway, they are getting divorced. She filed today.
- 6:41Speaker 2: And she filed first. And I have a theory that
- 6:49Speaker 2: it just came out today.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Because on Real Housewives of New York, the new one,
- 6:55Speaker 4: the new cast, Psy has been on the show previously.
- 6:59Speaker 4: since the inception of the new cast. And I'm just
- 7:02Speaker 4: going to go over to that one.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Side here. On last night's.
- 7:08Speaker 4: Episode, which just aired on Bravo last night, she shares
- 7:13Speaker 4: how she was, you know, we see in the first
- 7:15Speaker 4: couple of just leading up that she's separated and she's
- 7:18Speaker 4: having trouble with her husband. She doesn't know what she's
- 7:20Speaker 4: going to do, but she'd been lying to herself that
- 7:22Speaker 4: the marriage is good. And in that episode, we see
- 7:26Speaker 4: how she says, I'm getting ready to go on this
- 7:29Speaker 4: trip with the one girl's private island. And that's when
- 7:32Speaker 4: my phone starts going crazy that my husband, who she
- 7:36Speaker 4: just thought they were separated, he was going to watch
- 7:38Speaker 4: the kids for a week at their other home. He
- 7:41Speaker 4: files for divorce. And she was blindsided, not blindsided, but
- 7:46Speaker 4: she was just surprised that that's the way it's done.
- 7:50Speaker 4: But it's very rare that two people are completely on
- 7:53Speaker 4: the same page. And if you're seeing an attorney, they
- 7:55Speaker 4: might be like, you be the one. So I think
- 7:58Speaker 4: that Whitney saw it last night, had everything ready to go. Yeah.
- 8:03Speaker 4: And was like, you know what? I'm going to be
- 8:05Speaker 4: the one to file first. I'm not going to be
- 8:07Speaker 4: humiliated and have Justin do it. And that's what I
- 8:10Speaker 4: think happened.
- 8:11Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 8:11Speaker 3: So everything was locked and loaded.
- 8:12Speaker 4: I think everything was locked and loaded. Like she'd seen
- 8:14Speaker 4: a tour, everything. And all she had to do was
- 8:16Speaker 4: just like fire the missile. Like, Go to the courthouse
- 8:19Speaker 4: this morning. And I literally think she was watching last night.
- 8:22Speaker 4: I just think it's very coincidental. It doesn't matter, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 4: like it would have happened anyway.
- 8:27Speaker 2: But I just think that is telling. Because it didn't
- 8:33Speaker 2: look good. It didn't look bad. In some ways it
- 8:37Speaker 2: looked good that Cy didn't file. Because then you're like, well,
- 8:41Speaker 2: you were trying and he finally was like, I'm going
- 8:43Speaker 2: to beat you to it. I'm going to, you know,
- 8:46Speaker 2: but then she was so put off by it while
- 8:48Speaker 2: filming because she was like, I'm sorry. I'm like in
- 8:51Speaker 2: a really weird place. Like I was just kind of
- 8:53Speaker 2: like surprised.
- 8:55Speaker 4: Like I think she knew it was inevitable, but she didn't.
- 8:59Speaker 4: She didn't expect him.
- 9:00Speaker 2: To do it.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Her stuff's really hard for me to follow. The fact
- 9:03Speaker 3: that she was not being honest from the very beginning,
- 9:06Speaker 3: it's just like I need a period of cooling with her.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I just have a hard time believing anything in her life.
- 9:13Speaker 3: She's kind of on my nerves about that. But going
- 9:16Speaker 3: back to Whitney. Whitney's life is going to be way
- 9:18Speaker 3: more exciting. Seeing her date now.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Listen.
- 9:21Speaker 3: She's going to have, I bet you, she's going to
- 9:23Speaker 3: be much more fun on that show.
- 9:25Speaker 4: I think that they were the sexy couple that met,
- 9:29Speaker 4: you know, in an unconventional, scandalous way.
- 9:33Speaker 2: We fell in love. Justin was my everything. They have
- 9:36Speaker 2: two great kids. And, you know, he got fired.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Allegedly or not allegedly because they agreed to do a
- 9:47Speaker 4: scene for Salt Lake where they did got in their
- 9:52Speaker 4: underwear and did sexy paint with two sweating cameraman in
- 9:56Speaker 4: the room as they rolled around and did like Twister,
- 9:59Speaker 4: just the two of them.
- 10:01Speaker 2: And whatever that corporate.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Job was that he had at the high level of
- 10:05Speaker 4: whatever MLM, they're like, goodbye, Justin. And then she was
- 10:10Speaker 4: trying to have her own line, Whitney Rose Cosmetics.
- 10:15Speaker 2: And she said, I had a meeting.
- 10:17Speaker 4: It became a little more clear. She said, I had
- 10:20Speaker 4: a meaning to maybe be an Ulta and Sephora. And
- 10:24Speaker 4: then he came to her and said, listen, we're going
- 10:26Speaker 4: to make more money if we stick with this MLM route.
- 10:29Speaker 2: I'm sure he convinced her.
- 10:30Speaker 4: With all your followers, they'll all want to sell your
- 10:33Speaker 4: product and everything. And so she said okay to him.
- 10:37Speaker 2: It failed.
- 10:38Speaker 4: And then she was like, I don't like that you
- 10:41Speaker 4: controlled my business and I didn't get to do what
- 10:44Speaker 4: I wanted to do. So there was resentment there. And
- 10:47Speaker 4: when I saw her at the Kyle White party for
- 10:51Speaker 4: Ultimate Girls Trip, she's like, I'm here. I'm working on
- 10:54Speaker 4: some really exciting stuff for Wild Rose Beauty.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Things are going to change. I can't talk about it.
- 10:59Speaker 4: But it's really exciting news. And that was like back
- 11:03Speaker 4: in January. And I don't know what is happening with
- 11:06Speaker 4: Wild Rose Beauty.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Well, if there is something going on, I would think
- 11:12Speaker 3: that she would want it to be announced while the
- 11:14Speaker 3: show is airing to maximize it. So, um, by the way,
- 11:19Speaker 3: it's kind of interesting. He has this background in MLM.
- 11:23Speaker 3: He convinces her to go that route. At that point,
- 11:27Speaker 3: you're like, I married someone much older. He thinks like
- 11:32Speaker 3: this is the modern way of doing business, which is
- 11:34Speaker 3: totally outdated.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Right.
- 11:37Speaker 3: I'm turning 40. These are the, like the best TV
- 11:41Speaker 3: years of my life. I got a jump ship.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Right.
- 11:44Speaker 4: And she's, She's gorgeous, and she could still have a
- 11:48Speaker 4: whole other life. I don't think she wants to have
- 11:51Speaker 4: another baby, but she could still have another baby. And
- 11:55Speaker 4: she even said on the show, like, I didn't have
- 11:57Speaker 4: my wild period. Well, no, because you were having an
- 11:59Speaker 4: affair with the guy that you ended up marrying while
- 12:01Speaker 4: you were married to someone else. So, no, you didn't
- 12:02Speaker 4: have your dating wild period. I definitely think there were
- 12:06Speaker 4: rumors that they were swingers. I definitely think they dabbled
- 12:10Speaker 4: in some exciting sex life stuff.
- 12:13Speaker 3: When everyone talks about people being swingers, it just sounds
- 12:16Speaker 3: like a lot of work.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 12:18Speaker 3: Do people really do this?
- 12:20Speaker 2: All I know is that I know someone who told
- 12:22Speaker 2: me firsthand.
- 12:23Speaker 3: Okay.
- 12:25Speaker 4: That they were at some event with Justin and Whitney.
- 12:31Speaker 4: And they had another, they had a couple that they
- 12:33Speaker 4: brought that was their friends.
- 12:36Speaker 2: And they.
- 12:37Speaker 4: this person, single woman, got together with the couple that
- 12:40Speaker 4: they brought. The single person did not get together with
- 12:42Speaker 4: Justin and Whitney, but the single girl had a threesome
- 12:47Speaker 4: with this other couple that was friends with them.
- 12:51Speaker 2: And it was a good time, apparently.
- 12:53Speaker 4: And I was kind of shocked. I was like, didn't
- 12:54Speaker 4: know you were into that. But I was like, that
- 12:57Speaker 4: kind of tracks. Doesn't mean that they were part of it,
- 12:59Speaker 4: but that they'd be friends with people that would be
- 13:01Speaker 4: down to do something like that, you know?
- 13:03Speaker 3: Or do you think in reflection, the two of them
- 13:05Speaker 3: look at that like, we were already kind of sick
- 13:07Speaker 3: of each other at some point and we had to
- 13:09Speaker 3: add a little flavor in just to like, to keep,
- 13:12Speaker 3: keep our eyeballs open.
- 13:14Speaker 4: Well, if it's, if the relationship started really, truly sexually,
- 13:17Speaker 4: it started as a, as a working boss thing.
- 13:21Speaker 2: And then it, and then it was a sexual scandalous thing.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Very troubling.
- 13:25Speaker 2: Right.
- 13:25Speaker 4: And then it happened as a scandalous thing. Then it's
- 13:28Speaker 4: based in like real passion versus like a regular couple that,
- 13:34Speaker 4: They have sex, they fall in love, they have fun,
- 13:37Speaker 4: they do things. 18 months later, they get engaged, they
- 13:42Speaker 4: then get married a year later, and then they have
- 13:44Speaker 4: the first baby.
- 13:45Speaker 2: It's just like a different trajectory.
- 13:47Speaker 3: This is high stakes.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Yeah, high stakes, high passion.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Yeah, so that's my point, is that if you meet
- 13:51Speaker 3: that way, and it's all about hot sex behind closed doors,
- 13:55Speaker 3: how do you maintain any interest in this relationship? Of course,
- 13:59Speaker 3: they're going to like add people into the bedroom because.
- 14:01Speaker 4: And then of course, then you add the housewives, which
- 14:03Speaker 4: is the number one killer of all kind.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Of shitty marriages. Like, I mean, if it was kind
- 14:10Speaker 2: of a shitty marriage. Yeah.
- 14:12Speaker 4: Without the show, it might've just stayed shitty into your
- 14:15Speaker 4: golden years.
- 14:16Speaker 2: And then, and then mellowed out.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Do you remember the more, you know, on ABC, she
- 14:21Speaker 3: should do the more, you know, never sleep with your boss. Do-do-do-do-do.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, you know.
- 14:30Speaker 3: By the way, housewives could do that. They could do
- 14:32Speaker 3: a whole series of The More You Know.
- 14:34Speaker 4: The good news is, for Justin, we've seen a lot
- 14:38Speaker 4: of husbands that we are like, we hate them.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Bronwyn being one. Right, right, right. Get rid of the
- 14:45Speaker 2: grumpy character from up.
- 14:45Speaker 3: I don't hate this guy. I don't hate that guy.
- 14:47Speaker 2: He was a smiley, happy, supportive guy. Yeah. He came
- 14:52Speaker 2: to everything. I can't even remember.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Maybe there was one little thing where he was defending
- 14:56Speaker 4: his wife and getting involved in some argument with some
- 14:59Speaker 4: other dad.
- 15:00Speaker 2: I don't even remember. It wasn't significant. Oh, it was
- 15:03Speaker 2: Lisa Barlow's husband. Okay.
- 15:05Speaker 4: In the realm of like husbands on Housewives that have
- 15:09Speaker 4: not been portrayed well.
- 15:12Speaker 2: One out of 10, 10 being who.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Is like our favorite, who would be number one, who
- 15:18Speaker 4: it would have to be someone that did not get divorced.
- 15:21Speaker 4: Number one favorite presenting house husband that we liked.
- 15:25Speaker 2: I'm going to say it.
- 15:27Speaker 4: Was Mauricio before they broke up. I'm going to say
- 15:30Speaker 4: throughout all those years, Mauricio came off fun, attentive, nice,
- 15:35Speaker 4: never got in a fight with any other housewife.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Or house husband.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but Lisa Barlow's husband's better.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Lisa Barlow's husband's great.
- 15:41Speaker 3: Because Lisa Barlow's husband would never be on Dancing with
- 15:43Speaker 3: the Stars. So we don't, like, I think there was
- 15:47Speaker 3: an ick factor with Mauricio.
- 15:49Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, well, let's give Lisa Barlow's husband number one.
- 15:51Speaker 3: John Barlow is the patron saint of Salt Lake City.
- 15:53Speaker 3: He seems like a very good person and not a
- 15:55Speaker 3: first drop.
- 15:56Speaker 2: He's a good husband. I want to say Ken....
- 15:59Speaker 4: Of Lisa Vanderpump because he always had her back and
- 16:02Speaker 4: her dog. He always, if you're just looking at like
- 16:06Speaker 4: a husband who stood by, was there when she needed him,
- 16:10Speaker 4: you know, always had her back. And like it was
- 16:13Speaker 4: the Lisa show.
- 16:15Speaker 2: He was pretty great.
- 16:16Speaker 4: He had a couple moments where he got nasty to
- 16:19Speaker 4: like a couple people back.
- 16:21Speaker 2: Earlier in the day.
- 16:22Speaker 4: Then he stayed out of it. Yeah, I kind of
- 16:25Speaker 4: think those might be the best. I can't even think.
- 16:27Speaker 3: They're on the better end. I was just thinking.
- 16:29Speaker 4: Bobby Zarin always came off great.
- 16:32Speaker 2: He always came off great. I liked him. Yeah.
- 16:37Speaker 4: I mean, there's not a lot because so many people
- 16:39Speaker 4: get divorced.
- 16:40Speaker 2: And we're always going to be on the girl's side
- 16:42Speaker 2: if she gets divorced.
- 16:42Speaker 3: I thought you were going to ask me who was
- 16:43Speaker 3: the worst of all time.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Let's talk worst.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Not technically married, but the worst person ever.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Lou Knickerbocker.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Oh, he died.
- 16:53Speaker 3: Who cares? He was weird.
- 16:55Speaker 4: That's Tammy Knickerbocker's husband who did the angel water with
- 16:59Speaker 4: his daughters and her friends.
- 17:01Speaker 2: This is OC. This is very, you have to be
- 17:05Speaker 2: hardcore Real Housewives to even know what we're talking about.
- 17:08Speaker 3: He felt very ick. Like he's in some vials.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Well, okay, so we knew it was coming.
- 17:18Speaker 3: I kind of thought. I think they're both going to
- 17:21Speaker 3: meet other people and be really happy.
- 17:23Speaker 4: But there was a glimmer of when they did that
- 17:25Speaker 4: scene where we're living in two different rooms or whatever
- 17:28Speaker 4: that I thought maybe they're not in trouble. And maybe
- 17:33Speaker 4: they're like, you know what, let's play this out.
- 17:38Speaker 2: But we also really do need a break. Let's test
- 17:40Speaker 2: it out. Let's play it out. It'll be a good storyline.
- 17:43Speaker 2: So I was hopeful that this truly was.
- 17:47Speaker 4: A separation which they could sort of come back from
- 17:49Speaker 4: because he didn't move out of the house and it's
- 17:51Speaker 4: part of the show and let's see what we can do.
- 17:54Speaker 4: And then, you know, I mean, Meredith and Seth, they
- 17:58Speaker 4: should be the poster children for taking a sexual sabbatical
- 18:03Speaker 4: from your spouse and still staying married. Because, you know,
- 18:08Speaker 4: she didn't deny it.
- 18:10Speaker 2: Right?
- 18:11Speaker 4: When Lisa Barlow was like, sleeping with all of New
- 18:13Speaker 4: York and you fucking whore. She was mad that she
- 18:16Speaker 4: said it, but she was like, yeah, we were separated
- 18:19Speaker 4: and Seth and I have made it work now.
- 18:21Speaker 2: We got it out of our system. We scratched the itch.
- 18:25Speaker 2: And now we're, you know, in a bathtub together again.
- 18:28Speaker 3: By the way, he's not bothering me that much either.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Seth makes fun of her and I kind of like that.
- 18:33Speaker 3: When he was called her, like, you smother our children.
- 18:35Speaker 3: I thought that was funny.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I think Seth is... And John are delights.
- 18:40Speaker 4: I talked to them at a party during BravoCon and
- 18:43Speaker 4: they're so, we're so nice and normal.
- 18:45Speaker 3: They seem normal.
- 18:46Speaker 2: The women were doing some other event.
- 18:48Speaker 3: And they didn't care.
- 18:48Speaker 4: So I had a moment to talk to Seth and
- 18:51Speaker 4: he said, he goes, it's really funny. He's like, everybody
- 18:55Speaker 4: else said what he said. He goes, everybody on the
- 18:57Speaker 4: show realizes they're on a show, but my wife.
- 19:02Speaker 2: And that's why she gets so upset. So he basically
- 19:05Speaker 2: was saying a lot of it is, in my opinion,
- 19:07Speaker 2: pretty performative by these other people. But she is like,
- 19:11Speaker 2: how dare you brutalize my family? Like she would get
- 19:14Speaker 2: really upset.
- 19:16Speaker 4: And now I kind of feel like this season, either
- 19:18Speaker 4: she can't get upset because of the facelift being fresh
- 19:22Speaker 4: and looking amazing. But I also just feel like now
- 19:25Speaker 4: she gets it. And now she's like, let me sail
- 19:28Speaker 4: off into DJing and caviar bumps and my kids being
- 19:32Speaker 4: successful and me having stayed married and like, I'm not
- 19:36Speaker 4: going to let this shit bother me anymore. You know,
- 19:38Speaker 4: there's different times in your life where life gets different.

- 22:02Speaker 3: Do you think fame has ruined a lot of the housewives, though? Like,
- 22:06Speaker 3: when I think about the first season, I loved that
- 22:09Speaker 3: it was like, they were like lovable buffoons. Delusions of
- 22:15Speaker 3: grandeur with the fact that, you know, when Ramona had
- 22:20Speaker 3: people over and Jill was pissed, like, they all had
- 22:22Speaker 3: these connections to each other, but they also had no
- 22:24Speaker 3: idea that, how people perceive them, and so they were
- 22:28Speaker 3: authentically themselves.
- 22:29Speaker 2: 100%, and I think that's... Yeah, and now it's kind
- 22:31Speaker 2: of ruined. And I think they, as.
- 22:35Speaker 4: We'll go over here. As the Golden, the legends are back.
- 22:38Speaker 4: They're on the cover of Us Weekly, and they're wearing
- 22:40Speaker 4: these goddess white dresses. This is Ramona, Luann, Sonia, Kelly Bessamone,
- 22:46Speaker 4: and Dorinda all coming back for the E! show, which
- 22:50Speaker 4: is the Golden Life. Yeah, I think they.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Came on authentically. And a lot of housewives have come
- 22:58Speaker 2: on authentically but have changed, have produced, have gotten their
- 23:03Speaker 2: heads blown out of their, you know, think they're more
- 23:06Speaker 2: important than the others. They never did. They're still funny.
- 23:10Speaker 2: They're talented. They're funny if the cameras are on or off. So...
- 23:14Speaker 2: I think that's really great. And I think, you know,
- 23:16Speaker 2: people are really excited.
- 23:18Speaker 3: My friend Chris worked on it.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Can someone tell me how, how am I going to
- 23:21Speaker 2: watch E? I have no idea how I'm going to
- 23:22Speaker 2: watch E.
- 23:23Speaker 3: I don't know yet.
- 23:25Speaker 2: I have no idea.
- 23:26Speaker 3: I think it'll, I don't know.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Well, somebody better tell me. Okay.
- 23:29Speaker 3: But my friend Chris worked on that show and he
- 23:31Speaker 3: said he laughed so much.
- 23:33Speaker 2: The golden life. Yeah.
- 23:34Speaker 3: He said it, it was so much fun to make
- 23:37Speaker 3: and just easy. Like they're just easy to work with,
- 23:40Speaker 3: he said.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. they're pros and they're down to earth.
- 23:44Speaker 4: And yes, they're, they're, they're not like the complaints about
- 23:49Speaker 4: them as being one percenters and not totally aware and
- 23:54Speaker 4: boomers and not, and not being.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Politically correct, politically correct. That's what we wanted to watch.
- 24:01Speaker 4: We wanted to watch people that lived a life that
- 24:03Speaker 4: we didn't live. And then there was that period where
- 24:06Speaker 4: people were angry that they were the way they were.
- 24:09Speaker 2: And I'm like, you want an authentic person. Yeah. And
- 24:13Speaker 2: you're trying so hard.
- 24:14Speaker 4: To make sure that if they do trip up and
- 24:18Speaker 4: if they do say something that could be offensive to somebody, like,
- 24:22Speaker 4: get on fire. And like that whole thing was so
- 24:25Speaker 4: dumb because it's like now they're on E.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Now they're on E.
- 24:29Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true. I remember him telling me that he
- 24:33Speaker 3: would just call Sonia and say, you know, we need
- 24:36Speaker 3: to record. And she would just let them in. Like
- 24:39Speaker 3: she didn't have a bra on, no makeup, like morning breath.
- 24:43Speaker 3: No one would ever do that again.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Yeah, she doesn't care. That's what I love.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:49Speaker 2: Okay, so let's go back to... So Salt Lake, I mean,
- 24:54Speaker 2: I can't really.
- 24:56Speaker 3: It's good.
- 24:56Speaker 2: I can't really remember what the last episode was. What
- 24:59Speaker 2: were they doing? It wasn't anything too dramatic.
- 25:01Speaker 4: Oh, no, the new girl. The new girl who's not
- 25:04Speaker 4: in this poster. So she was friends with Whitney... Where
- 25:11Speaker 4: they she is.
- 25:13Speaker 3: Her former her sister-in-law who passed away was Whitney's best friend.
- 25:18Speaker 2: So her husband's sister is the girl that passed away.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Yes.
- 25:22Speaker 4: OK, so she's very pretty and she comes on the
- 25:27Speaker 4: show and she was a makeup artist or something that
- 25:32Speaker 4: met this rich guy. And so she's wealthy, very wealthy,
- 25:36Speaker 4: building this big house. And, you know, it was just
- 25:40Speaker 4: they go to San Francisco for St.
- 25:42Speaker 2: Patrick's Day.
- 25:44Speaker 4: And it was production wise, it was just a lot
- 25:47Speaker 4: of we we sit down and we get you to
- 25:51Speaker 4: talk say something about somebody. Then we misconstrue it. We
- 25:55Speaker 4: tell that person. So then you're mad. Then you confront
- 25:59Speaker 4: that person. It's a lot of, um, you said this
- 26:02Speaker 4: about me.
- 26:03Speaker 2: No, I didn't. Well, so-and-so told me that you said it. What?
- 26:07Speaker 2: You said it wrong. Flashback. It was a little bit wrong,
- 26:11Speaker 2: but not totally wrong. Well, now I'm upset.
- 26:13Speaker 4: And now it's like, it's a lot of, you know, he's,
- 26:18Speaker 4: she said what she said and she said, and you said,
- 26:20Speaker 4: and you said, you don't like me. And I said, well,
- 26:22Speaker 4: I do like you, but I don't like you when
- 26:24Speaker 4: you do that. And it's like, come on, but you
- 26:27Speaker 4: gotta have, I guess they feel you gotta have it.
- 26:29Speaker 3: So I don't know. I, I feel like all of
- 26:31Speaker 3: the shows, I just want to see someone in their life.
- 26:33Speaker 3: You know what I did like on Real Housewives of
- 26:36Speaker 3: Orange County, the last episode, the one thing that I
- 26:38Speaker 3: actually thought was interesting was listening to Heather and Terry
- 26:42Speaker 3: talk about their aging parents and taking care of them.
- 26:45Speaker 3: But then Heather talked about what it was like to
- 26:48Speaker 3: grow up in her own house, how her sister was perceived,
- 26:51Speaker 3: I think she said, as like the smart one and
- 26:53Speaker 3: she was the performer. Then I'm like, okay, that's useful information.
- 26:58Speaker 3: Now I understand her a little bit better. Then I thought,
- 27:01Speaker 3: in the scenes where she's with her mom, sometimes it
- 27:04Speaker 3: seems like she gets frustrated at her mom, like her
- 27:06Speaker 3: mom dismisses the things that she says. And then it
- 27:09Speaker 3: makes me think about all the moments she's had with
- 27:12Speaker 3: Terry on the show where it may have come across
- 27:15Speaker 3: as she was being too sensitive or he made her
- 27:18Speaker 3: feel like she was being too sensitive and then I
- 27:20Speaker 3: thought well that makes sense because probably when she was
- 27:22Speaker 3: growing up her mom kind of just like dismissed.
- 27:25Speaker 4: Her I remember I took this parenting class and they
- 27:28Speaker 4: said that's like the worst thing that you can do
- 27:30Speaker 4: is start even if you think it's positive is to
- 27:34Speaker 4: label your kids as like right well your brother's the
- 27:36Speaker 4: math genius but you're the dancer and Or you're the
- 27:40Speaker 4: one who's good in literature, but your sister's really the scientist.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Well, I've told you that's what my mom did. My
- 27:46Speaker 3: mom was like, you're the smart one, but your sister's
- 27:48Speaker 3: the beautiful one. But that was what happened in her
- 27:51Speaker 3: own house. She was the smart one, and my aunt
- 27:54Speaker 3: was like the one who was the golden child. So
- 27:56Speaker 3: I think a lot of parents kind of duplicate it
- 27:58Speaker 3: without realizing it. I think our generation is better.
- 28:01Speaker 4: Well, my mom was just obsessed that my sister, she
- 28:06Speaker 4: had five kids and only one had blue eyes. which
- 28:09Speaker 4: was my sister Shannon. So she would buy us like similar,
- 28:13Speaker 4: like the same outfit. And Shannon's was always in blue
- 28:16Speaker 4: and mine was just whatever other color it came into.
- 28:19Speaker 4: And then one day I just like jokingly said it
- 28:21Speaker 4: to my mom, like, I guess you'll never buy me
- 28:23Speaker 4: anything blue because I don't have blue eyes or whatever.
- 28:25Speaker 3: It was like a knife to her heart.
- 28:26Speaker 4: And she was like, after that, I got everything in
- 28:29Speaker 4: blue and she kind of realized it. And I just,
- 28:32Speaker 4: I mean, obviously it wasn't a big deal, but it
- 28:34Speaker 4: is kind of that, I know people kind of do it,
- 28:38Speaker 4: and they think that it's like a way for your
- 28:40Speaker 4: kids not to be competitive, but you're kind of diminishing
- 28:43Speaker 4: their potential.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Or their individuality. But I was telling you that on
- 28:48Speaker 3: top of that, my mom used to say to me,
- 28:50Speaker 3: because my parents were separated by the time I was born,
- 28:53Speaker 3: they were never together. And I'm obviously blonde and blue-eyed
- 28:57Speaker 3: and fair-skinned, and my sister looks more like you. So
- 29:00Speaker 3: it seemed like with your sister. My sister has olive skin,
- 29:03Speaker 3: brown hair, and brown eyes, but my mom would say,
- 29:06Speaker 3: your father didn't think that you were really his child
- 29:09Speaker 3: because you don't look like him. And then she would,
- 29:12Speaker 3: I know. And then she would say like, she was
- 29:14Speaker 3: the golden child.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Megan.
- 29:15Speaker 3: It was like, it was as if she was Cindy
- 29:17Speaker 3: Crawford at our house. Like she would walk through and
- 29:19Speaker 3: I'm like this like pale girl. And I was like,
- 29:23Speaker 3: so that when my, I met up with my dad, finally,
- 29:26Speaker 3: when I was 32, my sister found him and I
- 29:30Speaker 3: flew to Philadelphia to meet up with him. I was
- 29:32Speaker 3: trying to get the cover of the straw to get
- 29:35Speaker 3: his DNA. because I was still convinced.
- 29:38Speaker 2: I'm like, and did you?
- 29:40Speaker 3: Well, first of all, I was like, Robert Redford may
- 29:42Speaker 3: be my father. So I kept asking my mom, did
- 29:45Speaker 3: you have an affair? And she'd say, unfortunately, I didn't.
- 29:48Speaker 3: So I tried to get the straw, but he kept
- 29:50Speaker 3: the cover on the straw. I took a 23andMe test.
- 29:55Speaker 3: And then this person that looked unusual, I didn't recognize him.
- 29:59Speaker 3: was listed. His name was Alan. I said, do you
- 30:02Speaker 3: by any chance know, you know, your dad?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:05Speaker 3: And he said, oh yeah, he's like this crazy, like
- 30:08Speaker 3: second cousin in our, you know, like everyone in the
- 30:10Speaker 3: family talks about how weird it is. And then I
- 30:12Speaker 3: was like, okay, shit. Also, when I met him, the
- 30:15Speaker 3: one thing was that I have this weird memory, you know,
- 30:18Speaker 3: that like, I remember details about people and my dad
- 30:21Speaker 3: has about dates and history. Like he can tell you
- 30:24Speaker 3: anything about English, Irish history. And then I found out
- 30:27Speaker 3: that Superior Recall, is it, it, it is in every generation.
- 30:32Speaker 3: It just shows up differently. And that was the other thing.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Recalling, recalling memories. Yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Like my grandmother could read sheet music.
- 30:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 30:40Speaker 3: Um, my dad has it with history, but I have
- 30:42Speaker 3: it with details about people, which is why you can
- 30:44Speaker 3: text me and go, what was the made for TV
- 30:46Speaker 3: movie starring Tori Spelling in, you know, 1983. And I
- 30:48Speaker 3: remember it, but yeah, I did not look like him.
- 30:52Speaker 3: And that was the message that was like, well, you know,
- 30:55Speaker 3: you're the smart one. You're not the beautiful one. And
- 30:57Speaker 3: also he didn't really think you were his.
- 31:00Speaker 2: That is just awful. Yeah.
- 31:02Speaker 3: And now I have these five kids that look like
- 31:04Speaker 3: carbon copies. And I think it was because God was
- 31:07Speaker 3: throwing me a bone.
- 31:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 31:08Speaker 3: And they're like, I'm going to make it so easy
- 31:10Speaker 3: that no one has to say to you. Because people
- 31:13Speaker 3: my whole life have been like, are you sure your sisters,
- 31:15Speaker 3: you look so different. But then if we're in the
- 31:17Speaker 3: same room, our voices are exactly the same.
- 31:20Speaker 2: That's like my sister and I, yeah.
- 31:22Speaker 3: But when I look at you and your sister, I
- 31:25Speaker 3: think your faces are the same.
- 31:26Speaker 2: Yeah, some people say that.
- 31:27Speaker 3: But then when I saw your mom's picture... I mean,
- 31:30Speaker 3: I have never seen a daughter look.
- 31:32Speaker 2: You know what?
- 31:32Speaker 3: You're almost like the Cindy Crawford, Kaya Gerber. That's like
- 31:36Speaker 3: you and your mom.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Oh, that's so sweet. I think she's a lot prettier
- 31:39Speaker 2: than I am.
- 31:40Speaker 4: Getting back to this thing with the Real Housewives of OC,
- 31:44Speaker 4: I agree with you.
- 31:44Speaker 2: I thought it was interesting.
- 31:45Speaker 4: I think, you know, Heather needed to bring in the
- 31:48Speaker 4: big guns, which is her mother.
- 31:51Speaker 2: For this season. She's great TV. But she did also
- 31:54Speaker 2: move her out here. Yeah. So I thought that was great.
- 31:56Speaker 4: And then it was funny. She's like, we're going to
- 31:58Speaker 4: have an art show for you. I didn't realize the
- 32:00Speaker 4: mom was an artist. And I think her artwork is
- 32:01Speaker 4: really good. And the mom's like, well, finally. And I
- 32:05Speaker 4: did think her daughter's been famous. Even before Housewives, she
- 32:09Speaker 4: was a successful actress. She's been really famous in Housewives
- 32:12Speaker 4: for whatever it's been, 17 years, and never once highlighted
- 32:18Speaker 4: her mother's art.
- 32:19Speaker 3: But that precisely is exactly why I watch these shows.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Yeah, why the mom would be like, I have a
- 32:26Speaker 2: little bit of like, well, finally.
- 32:29Speaker 3: But maybe her mom was married to a husband who
- 32:32Speaker 3: kind of dismissed her, too.
- 32:33Speaker 2: Well, he was always in Puerto Vallarta.
- 32:35Speaker 3: Puerto Vallarta, so.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Anyway, I think.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Um, getting on this, this show, we've talked to some
- 32:41Speaker 4: about it, but I just want to, you know, listen,
- 32:45Speaker 4: I know we're.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Not supposed to talk about people's kids.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Kids are off limits, but we, if we're talking about
- 32:49Speaker 4: the housewives, part of them is being a mom and
- 32:51Speaker 4: a parent. And I am so sick of hearing Emily
- 32:56Speaker 4: be annoyed by her kids.
- 32:59Speaker 2: Kids are annoying. It happens, okay? And it's constant, not
- 33:04Speaker 2: just with Luke. Oh, Luke kept calling me. Look, I
- 33:07Speaker 2: couldn't even have a good time at the Persian party.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Look how many times Luke called me. Luke has to
- 33:12Speaker 2: stay at home because this is too much for him.
- 33:14Speaker 2: You know, Annabelle's annoying. You're eating too much. Go away.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Leave us alone, Annabelle.
- 33:21Speaker 4: I'm like, how's Annabelle going to think when she sees
- 33:24Speaker 4: this thing? And I am like, listen, I know it's
- 33:26Speaker 4: her job now. It's her career now. But if something
- 33:31Speaker 4: happens with the show and she doesn't continue, I hope
- 33:33Speaker 4: she sees it as a life's rejection is God's protection
- 33:37Speaker 4: thing and just dive into the next five years of
- 33:41Speaker 4: her life, seeing if maybe being present, maybe if not
- 33:46Speaker 4: being on TV will help with this child. I'm sorry
- 33:50Speaker 4: that I'm talking about it, but that's all she's talked
- 33:52Speaker 4: about for three years. So I wonder in hearing her
- 33:56Speaker 4: complain about it in interviews and everything, And that he
- 34:00Speaker 4: I know it's like a real thing called pandas and
- 34:02Speaker 4: an eating disorder.
- 34:03Speaker 2: But I just.
- 34:05Speaker 4: Wonder if the fact that, you know, he realized a
- 34:09Speaker 4: couple of years ago that he's on TV and that
- 34:12Speaker 4: his mom's on TV, if this doesn't have some effect.
- 34:16Speaker 4: And I hope to God that it gets better. But
- 34:19Speaker 4: I mean, I'm just going to say it. I wonder
- 34:23Speaker 4: why wouldn't it have something to do with it? Kids
- 34:25Speaker 4: develop things when their parents get divorced. Kids develop things
- 34:28Speaker 4: when they move. Kids develop something when they have.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Like a terminally ill parent. I don't know. Is that
- 34:35Speaker 2: an awful thing to say? Maybe it is.
- 34:36Speaker 3: How old are they? She's been on the show six seasons,
- 34:40Speaker 3: so like what, seven years?
- 34:42Speaker 4: The twins are like 10 or 11, and the Annabelle's
- 34:45Speaker 4: like 13 or 14.
- 34:46Speaker 3: So I'm remembering the Ultimate Girls Trip conversation where Kyle
- 34:49Speaker 3: said Portia really doesn't have any memory of, life without
- 34:54Speaker 3: cameras her daughter Portia yeah I wonder if her Emily's
- 34:58Speaker 3: kids they.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Were like three-year-old twins when it started they were really
- 35:01Speaker 4: little they're like three or four years.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Old I wonder too then when they're not asked back
- 35:07Speaker 3: and the cameras go away if that's weird like I
- 35:11Speaker 3: was really good friends with Bronwyn while she was filming
- 35:15Speaker 3: Orange County and her kids were really little yeah And
- 35:18Speaker 3: the cameras were like a big part of their life.
- 35:20Speaker 3: And she loved being on a TV show. She had
- 35:23Speaker 3: a hard time when the cameras went away.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:26Speaker 3: She had a whole identity crisis.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Well, she was one of the housewives.
- 35:30Speaker 4: She's now married to a woman and looks very different
- 35:34Speaker 4: from when she's still pretty, but looks very different.
- 35:36Speaker 3: She's so happy. One of the things she said is,
- 35:38Speaker 3: I feel like all that stuff I was doing for maintenance,
- 35:41Speaker 3: I was trying to make myself look attractive for a man.
- 35:45Speaker 2: It was interesting.
- 35:45Speaker 3: And I don't have to do it anymore.
- 35:47Speaker 4: When I saw her and she's wearing like this kind
- 35:48Speaker 4: of cool green dress, she's at Tamara's party where Tamara
- 35:52Speaker 4: invited all these old housewives for her Vena event, which
- 35:54Speaker 4: was very smart of her to do. And I'm like,
- 35:58Speaker 4: they show Broadway and I'm like, you know what it's
- 36:00Speaker 4: like when you see somebody and you're like, did we
- 36:02Speaker 4: go to high school together?
- 36:03Speaker 2: I'm like, why does she look familiar?
- 36:04Speaker 4: Because I haven't seen her on my TV in so long.
- 36:07Speaker 4: And you just kind of have to look because she
- 36:08Speaker 4: used to have the typical long blonde hair, hair extensions
- 36:12Speaker 4: and the boobs out and all this. And now she's
- 36:14Speaker 4: just like, looks very like at peace and cool. And, um, yeah,
- 36:20Speaker 4: that was kind of interesting. And so then, yeah, like
- 36:22Speaker 4: there was the Lynn Curtin showed up and Quinn showed
- 36:25Speaker 4: up and who else from the past?
- 36:28Speaker 3: Oh, Gina Keough.
- 36:30Speaker 2: Gina.
- 36:30Speaker 3: And who you always call Gina Kino.
- 36:33Speaker 2: So I always first count names.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Gina Keough.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Keough. Yeah.
- 36:37Speaker 4: And, So that was interesting, you know, cause it was like,
- 36:40Speaker 4: here she is. And remember that was, that was the
- 36:43Speaker 4: scene between Gina and Tamara is what changed the trajectory
- 36:49Speaker 4: of the show with fighting, which was Tamara was going
- 36:53Speaker 4: through a divorce with Simon. She found out that Gina
- 36:56Speaker 4: was talking to Simon and was like, don't talk to
- 37:00Speaker 4: my ex-husband while I'm going through this. So that's when
- 37:02Speaker 4: she sends the cease and desist and at the party
- 37:07Speaker 4: she And they get in an argument and Tamara throws
- 37:11Speaker 4: the wine in Gina's face.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Which was preceded by her telling Simon, I want
- 37:17Speaker 3: a divorce in the limo.
- 37:19Speaker 2: No, no, no. That was a different party.
- 37:21Speaker 3: I was going to say, wow.
- 37:22Speaker 2: That was the previous.
- 37:22Speaker 3: That is like an epic episode.
- 37:24Speaker 2: That was the previous season. Oh, okay.
- 37:26Speaker 4: And that was how that season ended.
- 37:28Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 37:32Speaker 2: And then she threw the drink at her.
- 37:34Speaker 3: Yeah, like, not only where is your loyalty, but you're
- 37:36Speaker 3: actually baiting him.
- 37:38Speaker 4: And then she said she was so freaked out after
- 37:40Speaker 4: she did that that she didn't take her makeup off
- 37:43Speaker 4: in case she got arrested and she had to go
- 37:46Speaker 4: to prison. She wanted to, like, look cute. So she
- 37:48Speaker 4: was scared she'd get in trouble for that, throwing the wine.
- 37:50Speaker 2: That's what I remember.
- 37:51Speaker 4: But they, of course, made up, and she came for
- 37:55Speaker 4: her free apps and free vino drinks and, you know,
- 37:57Speaker 4: got to be on TV.
- 37:59Speaker 3: Was she doing okay?
- 38:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 38:01Speaker 4: I mean, I think at that point she hadn't been diagnosed,
- 38:04Speaker 4: so I don't know how she's doing.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Because she's sick.
- 38:06Speaker 2: School's back.
- 38:07Speaker 4: Maybe you have a teenager. They want money. You want
- 38:10Speaker 4: to keep track of it.

- 41:25Speaker 4: you know, that was about it. And then Alexis Bellino
- 41:30Speaker 4: gets invited. She comes with John Jansen. And, you know,
- 41:35Speaker 4: you have to say, if this wasn't a TV show,
- 41:38Speaker 4: and this is no diss to Alexis Bellino or... John
- 41:42Speaker 4: or you know Tamara but like there's no way you
- 41:47Speaker 4: could get your husband to go to a party where
- 41:50Speaker 4: his ex-girlfriend who he was involved in a lawsuit with
- 41:53Speaker 4: was there yeah and you have to tell the the
- 41:56Speaker 4: new husband oh it's also going to involve you getting
- 41:59Speaker 4: in a full-blown tuxedo no way like no guy wants
- 42:02Speaker 4: to wear no guy is like you know what I
- 42:03Speaker 4: would love to do tonight go to a formal event Like,
- 42:06Speaker 4: no man wants to do that if they don't have
- 42:08Speaker 4: to do it.
- 42:08Speaker 3: I feel like I saw somewhere where she said she
- 42:10Speaker 3: paid him to show up. Did I see that right?
- 42:12Speaker 2: Who said that?
- 42:13Speaker 3: Alexa said she had to pay John to show up
- 42:16Speaker 3: or something. I feel like I saw that somewhere.
- 42:18Speaker 2: There's no way that she would say that, even if.
- 42:20Speaker 1: It was true.
- 42:20Speaker 3: But I'm also like, if you're married, how are you paying, huh?
- 42:24Speaker 2: Well, anyway, getting, going to.
- 42:27Speaker 3: Like, when Sai said that thing about her husband, they
- 42:31Speaker 3: went out to dinner for her birthday, and they had
- 42:32Speaker 3: great sex, and then she found out that at the dinner...
- 42:35Speaker 3: he used her credit card. I was like, but you're married.
- 42:38Speaker 3: So like, what's the big deal?
- 42:40Speaker 4: Well, that's probably why they also broke up is that
- 42:42Speaker 4: when the, because they, the money wasn't theirs together, you know,
- 42:46Speaker 4: and she had a chip on her shoulder that this
- 42:49Speaker 4: brand deal money is mine and did it, you know, and,
- 42:51Speaker 4: and he was probably feeling whatever, but then also she's
- 42:54Speaker 4: probably feeling like step up to the plate, you know,
- 42:57Speaker 4: don't get so comfortable and you know, whatever. So that
- 43:01Speaker 4: was probably didn't help the situation, but on ultimate girls trip.
- 43:06Speaker 3: It was, I feel like this is like too many episodes.
- 43:09Speaker 2: It just ended. No, I know.
- 43:10Speaker 3: I think it was too many.
- 43:12Speaker 2: I liked it.
- 43:13Speaker 3: I think it could have been like one or two shorter.
- 43:16Speaker 2: I really liked it. I thought it was fun to watch.
- 43:20Speaker 2: And yeah, I was going to, I was going to
- 43:23Speaker 2: say about, I was just going to say about.
- 43:25Speaker 4: The, oh, so when it was like, who gets to
- 43:30Speaker 4: get invited to these parties and who doesn't from each franchise.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Right, right, right. And I don't know how it was.
- 43:36Speaker 4: I don't know if it was the producers or each
- 43:38Speaker 4: girl got to have two people or they decided what.
- 43:41Speaker 2: Because, like, Heather Gay got to show up in Atlanta. Right.
- 43:45Speaker 4: And I don't know if that then got her an
- 43:47Speaker 4: invitation to the two parties later, which was to come
- 43:51Speaker 4: after Lisa Barlow.
- 43:52Speaker 3: I don't think so because Aaron Leach, he said in
- 43:54Speaker 3: an interview that they were asked to go to the
- 43:57Speaker 3: Berkshires weeks in advance. Okay.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Yeah. To plan it out.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Yeah, because she was making fun of Jessel because she
- 44:03Speaker 3: said Jessel was invited last minute or weaseled her way
- 44:06Speaker 3: and drove from New York City to the Berkshires and
- 44:09Speaker 3: then drove back.
- 44:11Speaker 4: Well, it's my understanding, it's from my sources, that if
- 44:15Speaker 4: you got invited to go to the party, if you
- 44:17Speaker 4: weren't one of the cast members, you got five grand.
- 44:20Speaker 3: Okay, good.
- 44:21Speaker 4: So from all the parties, you got five grand. If
- 44:23Speaker 4: they invited you, you got five grand. Now, I think
- 44:26Speaker 4: there might have been some people they didn't have to
- 44:28Speaker 4: pay five grand to. But if they, you know, and
- 44:31Speaker 4: then there were some people that just were not invited.
- 44:34Speaker 2: They just did.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Not invite them, even though they would have been a draw.
- 44:38Speaker 4: Because I was like, why wasn't Ramona at any of
- 44:41Speaker 4: the New York things?
- 44:43Speaker 2: And maybe it's who knows why.
- 44:45Speaker 4: But and Sonia, too, because I think they would have
- 44:47Speaker 4: gone for five grand, but maybe not.
- 44:51Speaker 3: Um, that's a lot of women in one room. And
- 44:53Speaker 3: if you are wanting to be the star of the show, right.
- 44:55Speaker 4: And you're like, Oh, forget it. I'm already filming something else.
- 44:58Speaker 4: I'm already filming golden life. I don't need to do this.
- 45:00Speaker 4: I don't, they, they've treated me like shit. I don't
- 45:02Speaker 4: need to show up to be an extra. Cause a
- 45:05Speaker 4: lot of them were like extras.
- 45:06Speaker 2: They were not featured at all.
- 45:08Speaker 4: So it's like, they should have, the only reason they
- 45:10Speaker 4: should go is like, I really love going to these parties.
- 45:12Speaker 4: I'm going to work this trip around something else. I'm
- 45:15Speaker 4: going to go.
- 45:16Speaker 2: It's a great thing. You know, all of that. Um, Now,
- 45:20Speaker 2: I think a great moment in it was when Andy
- 45:24Speaker 2: did bring Teresa and Melissa together. Because this has been what.
- 45:33Speaker 4: The contention between Teresa of New Jersey and Melissa Gorga
- 45:39Speaker 4: has always been a she said, she said. And I've
- 45:42Speaker 4: heard from both of them personally. According to Teresa, she
- 45:47Speaker 4: was on the show. And she had no idea that
- 45:50Speaker 4: they had hired Melissa until she got a call and
- 45:55Speaker 4: said they've been hired. And they didn't ask her about
- 46:01Speaker 4: it and she didn't want it because she knew that
- 46:04Speaker 4: the show would expose fighting or something. Even though they
- 46:09Speaker 4: weren't really fighting with siblings back then because she came
- 46:12Speaker 4: on second season. But Melissa has said that She let
- 46:18Speaker 4: her know they want to interview me and that Teresa said, good,
- 46:22Speaker 4: go ahead.
- 46:23Speaker 2: It's fine, whatever. See what you can do.
- 46:26Speaker 4: But I was like, from the very beginning, I was like,
- 46:29Speaker 4: I could see why Teresa was like, this is my thing.
- 46:33Speaker 4: And I don't want you guys on it. And I
- 46:35Speaker 4: could see why Melissa was like, well, they want me.
- 46:38Speaker 4: And I'm not going to turn down an opportunity when
- 46:40Speaker 4: I've been the girl that, you know, was in the
- 46:42Speaker 4: dance recitals and everything. And I like to be on display,
- 46:45Speaker 4: on display. And my husband obviously likes being a star.
- 46:49Speaker 2: He's doing standup. He loves the TV light. So they
- 46:52Speaker 2: were like jealous.
- 46:53Speaker 4: And I think the first year she didn't really like
- 46:57Speaker 4: invite them or feature them.
- 46:58Speaker 2: I'm not sure. Someone said, no, they were in the
- 47:00Speaker 2: background of one of the parties or whatever.
- 47:02Speaker 3: I think they were.
- 47:02Speaker 4: So then when she comes to the christening, which is
- 47:05Speaker 4: the beginning of the second season, she said, Teresa, that
- 47:10Speaker 4: it was, it felt like it came out of nowhere.
- 47:13Speaker 2: How he was like, walk away. you piece of trash.
- 47:15Speaker 2: And she's like, I just want to say congratulations.
- 47:18Speaker 4: She felt that it was like, that he was doing,
- 47:21Speaker 4: he was trying to have his flip the table moment
- 47:24Speaker 4: and that he was so angry, you know, and all
- 47:26Speaker 4: of that to just like start off on a thing. Um,
- 47:31Speaker 4: but now that they're at this place, I think it
- 47:33Speaker 4: took them realizing that the show is going to be
- 47:37Speaker 4: canceled if we don't make up. And I think they
- 47:40Speaker 4: finally came together and they're like, look, We should come
- 47:43Speaker 4: together for our kids, but we also want to keep
- 47:47Speaker 4: this show going.
- 47:48Speaker 3: We have a lot of bills that we need to pay.
- 47:50Speaker 3: We have a lot of bills that we need to pay.
- 47:51Speaker 3: And we have a big mortgage and kids in college.
- 47:54Speaker 4: And I do believe that, you know, as time goes
- 47:56Speaker 4: on and you enter your 50s, which Teresa is there,
- 48:00Speaker 4: I think, is.
- 48:02Speaker 2: You just, I think she just kind of was like,
- 48:06Speaker 2: who cares?
- 48:07Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure they still hate each other, but they,
- 48:09Speaker 3: for the sake of, wanting to be on television and
- 48:12Speaker 3: what the money and opportunities that come for it. And,
- 48:14Speaker 3: or maybe just the.
- 48:15Speaker 4: Knowledge of like, I'm not going to give it anymore.
- 48:18Speaker 4: I'm not going to give what they want from me anymore.
- 48:20Speaker 4: Like getting so angry and getting upset and you know,
- 48:24Speaker 4: I'm not doing anymore.
- 48:25Speaker 2: I'll be on the show.
- 48:26Speaker 3: Looks exhausted. She just feel, I feel like she's just.
- 48:29Speaker 4: Like, I think she's actually like quieter life. I think
- 48:34Speaker 4: she actually really is like a calm person. Like, when
- 48:38Speaker 4: I've had conversations with her, she really is, like, kind
- 48:43Speaker 4: of a slow talker, honestly, and is just sort of, like, chill.
- 48:47Speaker 4: And so I think that's the real Teresa, you know?
- 48:51Speaker 3: So in other words, like, it requires a lot of
- 48:54Speaker 3: her to... Yeah, because somebody... I know somebody who's worked
- 48:58Speaker 3: on that show, and they said she's, like, three beats behind.
- 49:01Speaker 2: And she never watched... She wouldn't watch the show.
- 49:03Speaker 3: Yeah, which you have to.
- 49:05Speaker 4: Right, and she wouldn't watch the show, so that it's like...
- 49:07Speaker 4: And then I think she was just... hearing things from
- 49:09Speaker 4: other people and then would get upset and.
- 49:12Speaker 3: She's like wait what but.
- 49:13Speaker 4: Yeah I I remember like I looked through like some
- 49:16Speaker 4: dms that I had with her and I was went
- 49:19Speaker 4: back and I watched the old thing and I was
- 49:21Speaker 4: kind of like, Oh my God, this would be so upsetting.
- 49:23Speaker 4: Cause in the beginning, Melissa was quite snarky in her
- 49:27Speaker 4: confessions and stuff about Teresa. And I'm sure they were
- 49:30Speaker 4: poking her to do that.
- 49:31Speaker 3: I was just going to say this in the middle
- 49:33Speaker 3: of this.
- 49:34Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:34Speaker 3: Are people who work on the show and encircle the
- 49:37Speaker 3: show who are winding them up. And I hope that
- 49:41Speaker 3: the two of them have had conversations about that. The
- 49:43Speaker 3: realization that there were outsiders that probably made this infinitely worse.
- 49:47Speaker 4: When I had Patrick McDonald on, I saw somebody do
- 49:51Speaker 4: a video about that podcast. And I can't recall who
- 49:55Speaker 4: she is, but thank you for doing it because I
- 49:57Speaker 4: thought it was kind of profound. She's like, I just
- 49:58Speaker 4: listened to Heather McDonald's episode about this. And she's like,
- 50:03Speaker 4: I just realized that the reason the shows are the
- 50:07Speaker 4: way they are is because there's these male producers, you know,
- 50:12Speaker 4: and predominantly gay, not that that matters, but that were
- 50:16Speaker 4: kind of got the instructions to go in this direction.
- 50:20Speaker 2: And once the train was on the.
- 50:21Speaker 4: Track, they couldn't stop it. And that was fighting. She
- 50:25Speaker 4: said this about you. What if you, you know, like
- 50:28Speaker 4: constantly kind of like putting it up. Like I remember
- 50:30Speaker 4: the first time I was at like Heather Dubrow's groundbreaking
- 50:35Speaker 4: party off to the side was a producer telling Heather, Now,
- 50:38Speaker 4: aren't you upset that so and so was late at
- 50:41Speaker 4: the last thing? And I was like, oh, they're like
- 50:43Speaker 4: prodding them to be mad about something in real life.
- 50:47Speaker 4: If you were a housewife and you or you were
- 50:50Speaker 4: friends with the other mothers at school, you just wouldn't
- 50:52Speaker 4: dwell on somebody being 30 minutes late to your party.
- 50:56Speaker 4: You know, like you wouldn't like. But because it's like
- 50:59Speaker 4: this is what we have to do now.
- 51:01Speaker 2: We have to be mad.
- 51:01Speaker 3: I also wonder if there was somebody who would talk
- 51:04Speaker 3: to Melissa and say, you've got to go on this show.
- 51:06Speaker 3: I mean, you're much more entertaining than she is. Look
- 51:10Speaker 3: how she's done you wrong. Like, winding her up. Apparently
- 51:14Speaker 3: it was Danielle. Well, that's a problem.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Apparently it was Danielle.
- 51:18Speaker 4: There were emails between Danielle and Melissa that then Teresa saw.
- 51:23Speaker 2: That was all this behind the scenes, not being honest.
- 51:27Speaker 4: So Teresa's argument was like, why wouldn't you have just
- 51:30Speaker 4: come to me and been like, hey, I want to
- 51:31Speaker 4: be on the show.
- 51:32Speaker 2: We want to be on the show.
- 51:34Speaker 4: You know, they're coming to us and like, let's make
- 51:37Speaker 4: this really fun and we could be on it too.
- 51:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 51:40Speaker 4: But I think they were like, if we did that.
- 51:44Speaker 4: They also said that the producer said don't tell her.
- 51:47Speaker 3: I'm sure.
- 51:47Speaker 2: And so they're following the rules of producer.
- 51:49Speaker 3: There are all these other people involved.
- 51:51Speaker 2: And they're like, if you tell.
- 51:52Speaker 4: Her, then we may not be able to get you
- 51:54Speaker 4: on the show. And they really want to be on
- 51:56Speaker 4: the show. They're seeing how big of a star she is.
- 51:59Speaker 2: She's on covers of magazines. She's getting all this money.
- 52:02Speaker 2: And they're two thirst buckets in the best possible way.
- 52:06Speaker 2: They're funny and entertaining to watch, so.
- 52:08Speaker 4: They're like, we wanna do it too, and they want us,
- 52:12Speaker 4: so what's the problem?
- 52:13Speaker 3: Well, also there are people saying, this is really a
- 52:15Speaker 3: franchise which is all about families, so it's gonna be
- 52:18Speaker 3: much better. Teresa's actually gonna look even better because her
- 52:22Speaker 3: family's brought in.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Right, and they probably said, whatever issues you guys have,
- 52:25Speaker 2: you'll be able to work it out while you all
- 52:27Speaker 2: get to be on TV.
- 52:28Speaker 3: And your parents get to be on TV.
- 52:30Speaker 4: Oh, and see what a great Italian-American family's about.
- 52:33Speaker 3: And we'll take you to Italy, and you can go
- 52:35Speaker 3: back to the homeland and the village.
- 52:38Speaker 2: Right, and look at the Manzos, how well it worked
- 52:41Speaker 2: with them having multiple siblings on it.
- 52:42Speaker 3: Meanwhile, Teresa and Melissa are sleeping in their beds at
- 52:44Speaker 3: night with one eyeball open, like, come back to the mic. They're, like, wired.
- 52:49Speaker 4: But now they said, we're going to make it work,
- 52:51Speaker 4: but we'll see. Maybe it'll be a great season.
- 52:54Speaker 2: Maybe it'll be kind of dull. Who knows? Okay, getting,
- 52:59Speaker 2: let me see. So was there anything, I thought it
- 53:01Speaker 2: was fun. I liked the show in the end.
- 53:04Speaker 3: I really enjoyed Giselle on it. I thought she was
- 53:08Speaker 3: really great. And Portia. I thought they were all great.
- 53:11Speaker 4: And even though Vicky was a Debbie Downer with her
- 53:13Speaker 4: bum knee, I thought she added to the entertainment of
- 53:16Speaker 4: the show and the combination of all of them and
- 53:21Speaker 4: Luann and everything.
- 53:22Speaker 2: I did think there was a kind of a funny moment.
- 53:23Speaker 4: Where the Rhode Island girls come. Nobody knows who they
- 53:27Speaker 4: are because the show hasn't aired. But they're in the
- 53:30Speaker 4: middle of filming their show. So they're fighting like it's
- 53:32Speaker 4: a show. And then Dorinda's like, you're not going to
- 53:34Speaker 4: have episode six during my party.
- 53:37Speaker 2: This is about Bluestone Manor. I have a beautiful party.
- 53:41Speaker 2: We're the seniors. You're the freshmen.
- 53:44Speaker 4: And you've got to respect us and not go take
- 53:46Speaker 4: it out on the lawn.
- 53:47Speaker 2: Take a cameraman with you. That's not what we're doing here.
- 53:51Speaker 4: And it was kind of like here you have this
- 53:53Speaker 4: opportunity to like learn from the best.
- 53:55Speaker 2: Yeah. But it was good. OK.
- 54:00Speaker 4: Real Housewives of New York.
- 54:03Speaker 2: How are you feeling about it?
- 54:06Speaker 3: I liked the last episode. The fact that they're on
- 54:09Speaker 3: this private island. And they're talking shit about the house.
- 54:13Speaker 3: That makes me laugh because you know what? One of
- 54:15Speaker 3: my favorite TikTok videos is somebody who has three cents
- 54:18Speaker 3: in their bank account. Walking through a neighborhood and being
- 54:22Speaker 3: critical of million dollar mansions that they can't afford. That's
- 54:25Speaker 3: funny to me. That's basically what they were doing.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Right.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Like someone's like, I would never want a modern farmhouse.
- 54:31Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:32Speaker 4: I would die if I had to live in a
- 54:34Speaker 4: modern farmhouse. I'm like, oh, you die if you live
- 54:36Speaker 4: in a brand new house.
- 54:37Speaker 1: Right.
- 54:38Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 54:38Speaker 2: That was, you know, listing price of six million dollars.
- 54:41Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:42Speaker 2: I would much rather have a classic.
- 54:43Speaker 3: And I don't like those. I don't like the doorway.
- 54:45Speaker 3: I don't like the frame of that. I don't like
- 54:46Speaker 3: their landscaping.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:49Speaker 3: So I liked it for that reason.
- 54:50Speaker 4: So for people not watching, they go this one girl
- 54:53Speaker 4: who is like a kickboxer or something.
- 54:56Speaker 2: She wasn't also a wrestler, was she? No, no, no, no.
- 55:01Speaker 2: She's like a fitness person.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Fitness person, yeah.
- 55:02Speaker 4: And she falls in love with this young guy whose
- 55:05Speaker 4: family and he are billionaires.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. And they have this island out in the Virgin Islands.
- 55:11Speaker 3: It's called Mosquito Island.
- 55:12Speaker 2: Very close to Epstein Island.
- 55:14Speaker 3: It's across from Necker Island, which is Richard Branson's island.
- 55:18Speaker 3: So Richard Branson actually owned the island, and then he
- 55:21Speaker 3: sold parts of it. So there are seven or eight
- 55:24Speaker 3: families there. that have properties, and it's like an HOA
- 55:28Speaker 3: where they share tennis courts and a pool.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Right.
- 55:30Speaker 4: But we don't know that at first.
- 55:33Speaker 2: They think they're going to their private island.
- 55:34Speaker 4: Not that it matters that there's other houses.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Right.
- 55:37Speaker 4: They're in this big mansion. They have a staff. They
- 55:40Speaker 4: greet them as their little boat comes. Very White Lotus.
- 55:44Speaker 4: And she shows everybody the room, and the rooms all
- 55:47Speaker 4: look beautiful and face the water, but they realize that
- 55:50Speaker 4: the beds fold into like a love seat.
- 55:53Speaker 2: Right. So they're like, oh, my God, is this a
- 55:55Speaker 2: folding bed? So that was their first bitch.
- 55:57Speaker 4: And then we have this girl, Daisy, who's very attractive.
- 56:00Speaker 4: And she's a makeup artist and her husband's a hairdresser.
- 56:03Speaker 4: And they're lucky enough to have a rent-controlled apartment.
- 56:08Speaker 2: So they're staying in that apartment.
- 56:10Speaker 4: And her biggest claim to fame is that she's Martha
- 56:13Speaker 4: Stewart's makeup artist and plus one to everything.
- 56:17Speaker 2: So she has seen the best of the best. But
- 56:21Speaker 2: she's still a makeup artist in a rent control. Correct.
- 56:24Speaker 2: With popcorn ceilings. You know, watch out for those asbestos.
- 56:30Speaker 2: But whatever.
- 56:31Speaker 4: And so she's sitting there with Aaron. And they are talking.
- 56:35Speaker 4: And they know their mics are on.
- 56:36Speaker 2: But they are whispering.
- 56:38Speaker 4: And they're like, is this kind of like a dump? Like,
- 56:40Speaker 4: this is not that great. This is not that great.
- 56:42Speaker 2: About this house that is beautiful. Overlooking. It's the water.
- 56:47Speaker 4: There is a view that doesn't have anything. clear blue
- 56:50Speaker 4: water all around it a pool and everything and here
- 56:54Speaker 4: this she's just like martha wouldn't like it martha wouldn't
- 56:56Speaker 4: like it but you know that that's kind of good
- 56:58Speaker 4: tv so they sit down and um they do this
- 57:02Speaker 4: thing which was just like i would have thought was
- 57:05Speaker 4: a great idea but like oh my god they're only
- 57:07Speaker 4: there for a couple nights but they they put the
- 57:09Speaker 4: table in the shallow part of the water so it's
- 57:12Speaker 4: like you could sit with your and i'm assuming the
- 57:14Speaker 4: water probably 90 degrees whatever.
- 57:16Speaker 2: But like it starts to rain. Everyone's just miserable.
- 57:19Speaker 4: And the other part is that Jessel, who's like really
- 57:23Speaker 4: become a very snarky, bitchy character.
- 57:26Speaker 2: I don't know if she was always like that or
- 57:28Speaker 2: she's just leaning into it.
- 57:30Speaker 4: But in a previous conversation, this girl, Erin, had her
- 57:34Speaker 4: house flood. And it's going to be a lot of
- 57:36Speaker 4: damage and she lost a lot of personal things. And Daisy,
- 57:40Speaker 4: the makeup artist, goes, you know, the girls, Jessel and
- 57:43Speaker 4: the one who owns this mansion, this island, we kind
- 57:47Speaker 4: of joked that it was an insurance thing. Like maybe
- 57:52Speaker 4: she let it flood so that she could get insurance
- 57:55Speaker 4: money or whatever. And Aaron, rightfully so, gets really fucking upset.
- 58:00Speaker 4: And it's really gross and it's a really mean thing
- 58:02Speaker 4: and it's kind of like a defamation type of a
- 58:05Speaker 4: thing to throw around. But again, they're not saying in
- 58:08Speaker 4: a court of law. They didn't write it in a book.
- 58:11Speaker 4: They're living a reality show. So if you're supposed to
- 58:14Speaker 4: be living your life Someone might say that and they're not,
- 58:20Speaker 4: the whole thing is forget the cameras are there, right?
- 58:22Speaker 4: So you say something kind of bitchy, snarky, whatever. And
- 58:25Speaker 4: then the producer's like, remember that snarky thing, repeat it.
- 58:29Speaker 4: And so that's like their weird fight. But I found
- 58:33Speaker 4: last night's episode funny.
- 58:35Speaker 2: I think it's, I like it. I think it's getting good.
- 58:37Speaker 3: I thought it was a good episode.
- 58:38Speaker 4: I like, you know, I like their dynamic. I think,
- 58:41Speaker 4: I also think Carol is just funny and interesting and
- 58:45Speaker 4: her like commentary is kind of nice and needed.
- 58:50Speaker 2: And yeah, I'm like, I'm now I'm like kind of
- 58:54Speaker 2: into it.
- 58:55Speaker 3: I'm also into the fact that Erica is married to
- 58:57Speaker 3: a billionaire, but doesn't like to spend a lot of money,
- 59:01Speaker 3: which by the way is why, super rich people stay rich.
- 59:04Speaker 3: They don't spend a lot of money, but because I'm wondering,
- 59:09Speaker 3: she's from Texas. She said her father was a doctor,
- 59:12Speaker 3: but I'm someone that's very similar to that. I grew
- 59:15Speaker 3: up with nothing. I can never turn the volume down
- 59:19Speaker 3: on that. It will, it will be in my brain.
- 59:21Speaker 3: It was just like my, my stepfather grew up during
- 59:24Speaker 3: the depression and he would always scream at us if
- 59:26Speaker 3: we had lights on. I'm still like that today. I'm
- 59:29Speaker 3: like turning lights out because I don't want to waste money.
- 59:31Speaker 3: You can't turn it down, even if you become the
- 59:35Speaker 3: wife of a billionaire.
- 59:36Speaker 4: My dad would always say I'm a depression kid.
- 59:38Speaker 2: And then I was like, am I a recession kid?
- 59:40Speaker 4: Because I've lived through a recession. The conversations I have
- 59:46Speaker 4: in my head are like, wow, I really want this salad.
- 59:54Speaker 2: But this salad has the avocado. And then it's like, Heather.
- 59:57Speaker 4: You could add a half of avocado to your salad. Well,
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: then that's making that salad $ 17. And I just think
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: that's ridiculous to spend $ 17 on a lunch. Because it's
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: in your head. Heather, this girl behind you that's 19
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: is going to spend $ 20 on her salad.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but whatever.
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: And then I'm like, Heather, what are you saving it for?
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: You could die tomorrow. Have that half of an avocado.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: It's going to really kind of make the salad. I
- 1:00:27Speaker 4: have to literally fight with myself to be like splurged.
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: So no, I'm not someone who's buying shit at Chanel
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: or anything like that.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: So I think what's cool is that she, it doesn't.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: Matter how much money you make, either someone who kind
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: of gets off on finding something similar.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: For a great price and a great deal.
- 1:00:48Speaker 4: Also, even though she's married to a billionaire and probably
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: could spend what she wants, we don't know.
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: The dynamics.
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: We don't know if she gets... $ 10, 000 a month, because
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: I've known women that are married to billionaires, a couple,
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: and they have an amount, and they can spend that.
- 1:01:06Speaker 4: So if they only spend $ 2, 000, then that $ 8, 000 can
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: be saved for something else. They don't have to ask
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: about it. They don't have to say, my sister needs $ 2, 000.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: We don't know what the situation is. She knows she's
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: protected by being married. Whatever that prenup is, she's not
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: ever going to be homeless. But whatever the dynamic is,
- 1:01:27Speaker 4: she doesn't have to share that with us either.
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: She also may not have to share the money she
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: makes from being on the show. Obviously, it'll be much
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: more if she's on for three seasons with him. That's
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: only hers, and he doesn't have to be involved in it.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: So I'm into that story. I would tell anybody that's married.
- 1:01:43Speaker 4: To somebody with that big of a dichotomy not to
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: get comfortable, to always kind of, you know, and every
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: couple years I would say, ask for something big in
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: your name. Say like, I want to buy this duplex
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: or I want to buy, can I have this in my,
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: if you're not making the money and like if you're,
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: you know, and if hopefully your prenup is one of
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: those things that you get based on how many years
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: you stay married or whatever, because I'm sure his money's
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: in a trust. So I'm sure have they, if they
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: get divorced, she's not getting half of the Island house.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: That's right.
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: You know, like a normal couple that maybe bought the
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: Island house. you know, with his hedge fund money, but
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: they've been married for 10 years.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Right. So, you know, who knows? But I find all
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: that like interesting and she's cute to look at.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: There's a lot to talk about on that show and
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: I like that.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:02:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: You just did an episode that on Reality Life with
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: Kate Casey about one of my favorite movies, St. Elmo's Fire. Yeah.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Tell me about that. Okay.
- 1:02:39Speaker 3: So I tracked down the screenwriter. The story is based
- 1:02:43Speaker 3: on his real life. He, so he's from Pittsburgh. He
- 1:02:48Speaker 3: works at this hotel called St.
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: Elmo.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: He falls in love with this other waitress who's also
- 1:02:52Speaker 3: working at the hotel. And that is the Andy McDowell character.
- 1:02:56Speaker 3: He is the Emilio Estevez character who's like obsessed with
- 1:02:58Speaker 3: this girl. So he writes a short story while he's
- 1:03:03Speaker 3: at Duke. And wins this contest through Universal.
- 1:03:07Speaker 2: Just about that story.
- 1:03:08Speaker 3: It was just about that story.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: A guy planning for this woman. Yeah.
- 1:03:11Speaker 3: And he wins this contest. And it affords him the
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: opportunity to go to L.A. for a couple weeks. He
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: meets Joel Schumacher, who was this famed director. And he
- 1:03:23Speaker 3: becomes his assistant. And Joel has had some luck with
- 1:03:26Speaker 3: some movies. And then he says, well, why don't we
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: take your script out? And why don't we do something
- 1:03:31Speaker 3: together and make it about like college kids? So a
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: lot of the characters are based on kids he knew
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: because he's in his early 20s. Joel is in his 60s.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: He worked in the fashion industry and then got into movies.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: So they write this script together. And he says this
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: one moment, and I thought it was so relatable, is
- 1:03:52Speaker 3: when there's like a power disparity, especially with age too.
- 1:03:56Speaker 3: So they write this whole movie together. It sells everything.
- 1:03:59Speaker 3: And he had his, Joel was very overt about his
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: sexuality and his sexual escapades with his assistant.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: So Joel was gay.
- 1:04:08Speaker 3: Joel's gay. Okay. And he's talking all the time about
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: all of the sexual experiences that he's having. Carl, the
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: screenwriter is a little bit more dorky. I mean, he
- 1:04:17Speaker 3: was obsessed with this girl that he was chasing. Like
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: he's a little bit more awkward. They've sold the script
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: and now there's going to be a conversation about like
- 1:04:26Speaker 3: the equity of it. And, Joel says to him some
- 1:04:32Speaker 3: crazy story about sexual escapades and how somebody was just
- 1:04:37Speaker 3: like a casual fuck. That's the exact words. And Carl
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: sort of confused, like, why are you telling me this story?
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: And he goes, you're sort of like a casual fuck.
- 1:04:46Speaker 3: No one knows who you are, Carl. So here's what's
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: going to happen. I'm going to get 80 percent and
- 1:04:51Speaker 3: you're going to get 20 percent.
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: Of this of the movie movie.
- 1:04:55Speaker 3: Even though Carl wrote, it's based on his thing, his experiences,
- 1:04:58Speaker 3: his friends, everything. He's like, you're going to get 20.
- 1:05:02Speaker 3: I'll get 80. If you have a problem with that,
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: you can walk away and you won't get anything. But
- 1:05:05Speaker 3: I'm the one who has the experience. I'm the one
- 1:05:08Speaker 3: who has the movie making connections. So you have to
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: be fine with that or you have to walk away.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: And the fact that he begins that by telling them
- 1:05:16Speaker 3: this like crass.
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: And that's after they've written it.
- 1:05:19Speaker 3: Totally inappropriate story.
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: And after the movie's been sold. Yes. Is it in
- 1:05:21Speaker 2: production yet?
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: Not in production yet.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: Okay. So what happened?
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: So he was like, I didn't, he was sleeping on
- 1:05:27Speaker 3: a laundry room floor in LA. He has no money.
- 1:05:30Speaker 3: And he was like, I guess I have to accept it.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: And he was in the interview. He said, I've never
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: told anybody this story before.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: And as he, so he tells me a story. And
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: right before he tells me that 20, 80 story, I go,
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: I said, Oh, Carl, I'm like sick to my stomach
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: because they think about how many times we have these
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: weird experiences in business. Like I had one with a
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: client when I did, um, media, uh, strategy and consulting
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: where I had a client told, tell me that he
- 1:05:59Speaker 3: was taking Viagra with his wife and he was 60
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: and I was in my twenties and we're at this
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: coffee spot. And he said, yeah, she keeps complaining. It
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: feels like a pole going inside of her. And I
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: was like, am I on like, why are you telling
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: me this?
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: Like what?
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: Huh? And then he, and so he's telling me the
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: story and I'm so uncomfortable. And then he goes, so
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: I think that maybe, um, I'm going to, take our
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: retainer down. Let's say I was paid like $ 3, 500 a month.
- 1:06:25Speaker 3: He's like, I think I can only pay like $ 2, 000 now.
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: And I was so out of sorts because he had
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: told me this story that was so bizarre and inappropriate
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: that I couldn't really react in time to it. And
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: then I remember going home and telling my husband, he
- 1:06:38Speaker 3: was like, the guy was like baiting you. It's totally inappropriate.
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: So what did you do? I think I wrote like
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: one more email and I was like, I don't know
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: if I can make this meeting. And I never spoke
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: to him again. I never worked with the guy again, ever.
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: Getting back to the St. Elmo's fire thing.
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: But can you believe he did that? And then he goes, oh,
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: and by the way, you're only going to get 20%.
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: So because it was such a big hit though, did
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: he still, did the writer then still make a lot
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: of money and be able to do other things even
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: though he.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: Got fucked out of this deal?
- 1:07:10Speaker 3: He did a couple things, but now he's a professor
- 1:07:13Speaker 3: at University of Pittsburgh.
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: For anyone, you know, St. Olaf's Fire, that's a great movie.
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: I always wonder, like, sometimes when I watch these movies
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: and I'm, like, all excited to share it with one
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: of my kids.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 1:07:27Speaker 3: It doesn't hold up.
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: It doesn't hold up. They get kind of bored.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: But, like, with this particular movie, what was so crazy
- 1:07:33Speaker 4: about it is when it came out, I was, like,
- 1:07:35Speaker 4: in high school.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: And the characters were all just one year out of
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: whatever college, whatever Boston school they went to.
- 1:07:44Speaker 3: No, it was Georgetown.
- 1:07:45Speaker 2: Georgetown.
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:07:46Speaker 2: They were only one year out.
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: But this is like the 80s where everyone has shoulder
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: pads and like Judd Nelson was like working for a senator,
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: was going to like have a political career and he
- 1:07:58Speaker 4: has a girlfriend and they're going to get married and
- 1:08:01Speaker 4: they're smoking like they're 40.
- 1:08:03Speaker 3: Well, this is important to bring up because he's explaining
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: to me this man's personality and he's domineering and he's
- 1:08:09Speaker 3: in his 60s. Carl is friends with the actors now.
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: They're all the same age.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: Right.
- 1:08:14Speaker 3: And a lot of the characters, he would rewrite stuff
- 1:08:19Speaker 3: in what he thought would be better. But he's in
- 1:08:21Speaker 3: his 60s.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:08:22Speaker 3: So then I'm like, okay. Like, for example, Judd and
- 1:08:26Speaker 3: Ally Sheedy's apartment, it's a penthouse.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: It's all white.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: With artwork. And I was like, why? I was like,
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: how are they so?
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: That was Joel. Yeah, I was like, how are they
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: so rich?
- 1:08:35Speaker 3: He made sure Ally Sheedy was dressed in Ralph Lauren.
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: He got mad at her because she cut her hair
- 1:08:40Speaker 3: for another role.
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: And he was like, how?
- 1:08:42Speaker 3: And I was like, that's another thing I said. If
- 1:08:44Speaker 3: he was that inappropriate with you, imagine what he was
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: saying to these actors and making them feel like shit. Oh,
- 1:08:49Speaker 3: remember Rob Lowe hooks up with Wendy, Mira Winningham's character.
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: And she's like frumpy. She was pregnant while filming that,
- 1:08:56Speaker 3: by the way. okay but he like goes up her
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: leg and it reveals she's got yeah and then he
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: calls it her what is this scuba gear and she
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: gets up and she goes i don't think we should
- 1:09:07Speaker 3: talk anymore yeah and i asked him i'm like that
- 1:09:09Speaker 3: is such a horrific scene and he said joel always
- 1:09:12Speaker 3: made fat jokes and he thought it would be funny
- 1:09:15Speaker 3: So a 60-year-old man writing for 20-year-olds added that line,
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: and he thought it was funny because he worked in
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: the fashion industry.
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: But I am going to take Del's advocate in that
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: that was a very memorable scene.
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: I know, but it was like pink.
- 1:09:28Speaker 4: It was weird, and it was awful, but it was
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: like interesting. It was still interesting. But, well, everyone should
- 1:09:38Speaker 4: listen to your episode.
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: By the way, it's two parts, so go and listen
- 1:09:41Speaker 3: to it.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: Reality Life with Kate Casey.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: Also, this is kind of interesting. So Kylie Jenner is
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: doing a movie or a series. Hulu just ordered the series.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: It's called Bachelorette Weekend Thriller. And she plays a bachelorette
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: with her girlfriends. And she dies early in the movie.
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: And then the series is, you know, who killed her
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: and why. And Kim Kardashian is the EP. And they
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: have a big deal with Hulu.
- 1:10:11Speaker 2: I thought, okay.
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: I think it's kind of great because I do think
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: that Kylie can maybe act.
- 1:10:20Speaker 2: I really do. And I think she's pretty.
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: And I think this is a smart thing to do
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: because she'll probably die within the first episode, right? So
- 1:10:28Speaker 4: she's not in it throughout.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: Right.
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: But then whatever flashbacks are will probably be like slow-mo
- 1:10:35Speaker 4: and like her face and like something that she can do.
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: So I kind of think it's a good– toe dip
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: into this world. And again, a thriller where a whodunit
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: with a bunch of women characters.
- 1:10:51Speaker 2: It's, I think it's an original script. It's not like
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: based on a book or anything. Yeah.
- 1:10:55Speaker 3: Who wrote the script? That'd be interesting.
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: I'm not sure, but I just thought, you know, when
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: I met Kylie for the first time in she was
- 1:11:03Speaker 4: wanting to, she was doing a little Shakira dance on
- 1:11:05Speaker 4: a pool table. Like she, I think actually this is,
- 1:11:11Speaker 4: even though she went the reality show and then the
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: makeup and, but now that her kids are getting older
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: and she's dating an actor and I think, you know,
- 1:11:20Speaker 4: she is really very attractive.
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: I I'm kind of excited. I'm, I we'll see.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: I mean, Kim Kardashian still doing her other thing, which is,
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: the lawyer show, which I could not get into.
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: I know. I just got an email. It's second season.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: It's about to, it's.
- 1:11:34Speaker 2: Supposed to take place in Rome or whatever.
- 1:11:36Speaker 4: So it might be aesthetically kind of fun and cool.
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: I know people liked it.
- 1:11:40Speaker 4: Um, but I think it's interesting that, you know, as
- 1:11:43Speaker 4: they are getting older, they're being smart and they're producing stuff. Yeah.
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: Chloe's thing, the girls, that was a big dud, which
- 1:11:52Speaker 4: was Chloe's show where she just, I guess she promised
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: her friends, okay, I'll get you a show.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: And then all they did was just.
- 1:11:58Speaker 3: Unscripted reality shows are hard. You have to be, like,
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: super compelling people to compete with all of the other
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: shows that are out there.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: And then we thought Chloe was going to be in it,
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: and she really wasn't. And so, I don't know. I just...
- 1:12:13Speaker 2: I watched, like, one episode, and then that was it.
- 1:12:15Speaker 3: If you're Chloe, you don't want to be on it
- 1:12:18Speaker 3: because you don't want people to say, like, oh, you're stealing...
- 1:12:23Speaker 3: you know, you're, you're stealing the show from them. It's
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: like a no win.
- 1:12:25Speaker 2: It's a no win. She doesn't want to leave her
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: Hidden Hills estate.
- 1:12:28Speaker 4: Like she doesn't want to have to do stuff she
- 1:12:30Speaker 4: doesn't want to do. So they made her like the
- 1:12:33Speaker 4: Carrie Bradshaw of it where she's like, these are my
- 1:12:35Speaker 4: friends and this is what's happening. And the girls were
- 1:12:38Speaker 4: like pretty to look at, but there just wasn't any,
- 1:12:40Speaker 4: they all just had like a G wagon and like
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: an ex.
- 1:12:43Speaker 2: Ballplayer boyfriend, baby daddy.
- 1:12:44Speaker 4: And they'd go to Castellina, which I love because there's
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: a juicy scoop cocktail there, which they would have featured that.
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: But that's about it.
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: I also think people think certain people would be great
- 1:12:57Speaker 3: for TV, and then the film crew comes and they're duds.
- 1:13:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: It just happens. Some people are just not meant to
- 1:13:04Speaker 3: be on TV.
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: But then I thought, well, at least these girls could
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: never say, like, Chloe, you never did anything for us.
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: Truly.
- 1:13:10Speaker 4: We've appeared on your show for 15 years as your friends.
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: We're your plus ones for everything. All the events are
- 1:13:17Speaker 4: at your house. And I just saw Chloe and Paige–
- 1:13:22Speaker 4: they did a podcast together, Paige from Gig League Squad. And,
- 1:13:26Speaker 4: you know, they're both very successful and stuff. And they
- 1:13:28Speaker 4: had this one moment that was clipped where they were like,
- 1:13:33Speaker 4: if I get invited to a party, I'm counseling.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: Paige has always been like that.
- 1:13:38Speaker 4: They're like, if I get invited to a birthday party,
- 1:13:40Speaker 4: I'm counseling. Like if it's just me and one person
- 1:13:43Speaker 4: and we're meeting for lunch, like I'm going to go
- 1:13:45Speaker 4: because you're my one friend.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: But if you've got other people supporting you, why do
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: I have to go? And basically, because they're just at
- 1:13:55Speaker 4: a level where they just are like, I'm really rich.
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: And if I don't want to go, I don't want
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: to go. And also, they're.
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: Probably exhausted from all that comes with having to be
- 1:14:06Speaker 3: a public figure.
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: Well, also, you don't know who's going to be.
- 1:14:10Speaker 4: I see both sides. I see the side of it
- 1:14:13Speaker 4: sounds like you're really selfish. Your friend would really love
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: to have all of her eight best friends being there,
- 1:14:18Speaker 4: you being one of them. But the other part is
- 1:14:22Speaker 4: you're so famous now and you really don't want to
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: be seated next to someone, if you're Paige, where the
- 1:14:28Speaker 4: girl's like, hi, I'm so excited to meet you, Paige.
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: I went to college with Melissa or whatever.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: Funny story, I'm starting a podcast now. And I just,
- 1:14:40Speaker 2: what is your tips? Yeah, right. And so she's kind
- 1:14:43Speaker 2: of like, geez.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: I want to be an influence, like for Paige, I
- 1:14:45Speaker 3: want to be an influencer.
- 1:14:46Speaker 4: And Paige is just like, oh my God, I like you, Melissa.
- 1:14:49Speaker 4: I would have much rather taken you out to dinner,
- 1:14:52Speaker 4: just the two of us. So I do kind of
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: see what that is like. And so I kind of
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: appreciated their honesty in it, you know, as, as women
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: that are at a certain level that are just like,
- 1:15:03Speaker 4: I kind of like, I don't need to make any
- 1:15:05Speaker 4: new friends, but then sort of get like, but you're
- 1:15:07Speaker 4: there to support your friend.
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: Yes. And no, a wedding. Yes.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: You're going to go, you know, some big thing, but
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: maybe if it's just a 10 person girl dinner at
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: a private dining room.
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:15:20Speaker 4: But you know, you just, I don't know what you
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: do with that because it's like, I've been in that
- 1:15:25Speaker 4: position for, Back in the day and, you know, Chris
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: would come with her bodyguard and the bodyguard would sit
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: over there and she was very nice and brought me
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: a gift. But, yeah, it was probably coming to the
- 1:15:38Speaker 4: point where she's like, I don't want to do these
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: anymore because I'm giving up.
- 1:15:41Speaker 2: An evening and I don't know who these other people are.
- 1:15:46Speaker 4: And they're a little starstruck and they're going to try
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: to get a photo and it's going to actually take
- 1:15:52Speaker 4: away from the person whose birthday I'm at.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: Yeah, like let's say Paige goes to a dinner with
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: 10 girls. They're going to ask her a million questions
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: about Craig, who she does not want to speak about anymore.
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: And they're going to ask her about Amanda and West.
- 1:16:06Speaker 3: And she's going to be like, I haven't been on
- 1:16:07Speaker 3: this show. Like, I don't want to talk about it.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: She'd probably rather go to a situation where no one
- 1:16:14Speaker 3: knows her television experience at all.
- 1:16:18Speaker 4: Also, and a lot of regular people, when the dinner
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: comes on a Wednesday... that they agreed to a lot
- 1:16:23Speaker 4: of people I mean I'm not someone that cancels I
- 1:16:27Speaker 4: love a dinner party I want to be I like
- 1:16:31Speaker 4: to go to things some people would say that's a
- 1:16:33Speaker 4: bad trait that I like to be invited I don't
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: I really appreciate being invited and I really like to
- 1:16:38Speaker 4: go and if I said I'm gonna go I'm gonna
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: go and um but I understand a lot of people
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: I watch these TikToks when they're like when, you know,
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: you get, you've seen the woman where you get the
- 1:16:49Speaker 4: greatest call ever that the thing has been canceled and
- 1:16:51Speaker 4: you're like jumping for joy. And I'm like, no, that's
- 1:16:54Speaker 4: not me actually. And some people are like, I don't
- 1:16:56Speaker 4: understand how you have the energy that you have, Heather,
- 1:16:58Speaker 4: that you want to go, go, go, that you want
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: to go like out to dinner and all that stuff
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: all the time.
- 1:17:04Speaker 3: Have you seen the videos of the woman who lives
- 1:17:06Speaker 3: in New York by herself? And in the videos, it's
- 1:17:10Speaker 3: like you obviously have a videographer and it's like, When
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: you're you have no friends and you're all alone a
- 1:17:17Speaker 3: day in my life and she wakes up in this
- 1:17:20Speaker 3: apartment and it's like her getting out of bed. I'm like,
- 1:17:23Speaker 3: who's videotaping this? And then she like makes her matcha
- 1:17:27Speaker 3: and all this stuff. She goes in and she does
- 1:17:30Speaker 3: literally 35 beauty treatments and they're all batshit crazy and
- 1:17:35Speaker 3: like pulling on her mouth and stuff in her port.
- 1:17:38Speaker 3: And she you see her getting in the shower. And
- 1:17:40Speaker 3: I'm like, how long does this take to film? And
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: then she goes to work and then you see her
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: walking down the street. So it's not just like a
- 1:17:47Speaker 3: tripod set up, but like walking and then like going
- 1:17:51Speaker 3: into her building. And then she comes home. She walks in.
- 1:17:55Speaker 3: She holds her cat, kisses the cat, takes off her shoes,
- 1:17:59Speaker 3: takes some steam cleaner apparatus, cleans the bottom of her
- 1:18:02Speaker 3: like Christian Louboutins, puts them in the closet and then
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: does the whole beauty routine again. And then eats like
- 1:18:08Speaker 3: a piece of pizza, watches a show and goes to bed.
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: But and tons of people watch it, including you, because it's.
- 1:18:14Speaker 2: Kind of a compelling how they do it.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: Well, I can't watch a lot of it because I'm like, wait,
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: who is filming this?
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: No.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: And she insists that she's doing it herself with the tripod.
- 1:18:23Speaker 3: I'm like, it doesn't make any sense.
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: I think it does make sense sometimes. But then I
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: also when I can.
- 1:18:28Speaker 3: Tell, I mean, beauty companies need to throw this woman
- 1:18:31Speaker 3: a bone. She will use thirty five different things. And
- 1:18:35Speaker 3: then it's like. tea with like potpourri in it and
- 1:18:38Speaker 3: then like every wackadoo wellness thing she's doing it.
- 1:18:43Speaker 4: Um well one thing we didn't talk about we'll end
- 1:18:46Speaker 4: on this alex earl said she's never read a book.
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: You i think what it is is.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: Sure i think kids now i think don't have to.
- 1:18:55Speaker 4: Read i think with ai and stuff like that i
- 1:18:59Speaker 4: think you don't have to read the whole book i
- 1:19:01Speaker 4: mean we used to have cliff notes but i would
- 1:19:05Speaker 4: still read entire books and i still would enjoy reading
- 1:19:08Speaker 4: a book And so I kind of appreciate her honesty.
- 1:19:12Speaker 4: A lot of people don't have graduated from college and
- 1:19:15Speaker 4: she's never read like a whole book all the way through.
- 1:19:18Speaker 3: That to me is a little crazy. How did you
- 1:19:21Speaker 3: graduate from University of Miami and never read a book?
- 1:19:24Speaker 4: That to me is like, because you get the books,
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: but I think it's really rare that you have to
- 1:19:27Speaker 4: read the whole book.
- 1:19:30Speaker 2: That, I mean, I think there's enough ways to get
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: summaries and whatnot.
- 1:19:32Speaker 3: Maybe she means like literature. Like she never read Catcher
- 1:19:35Speaker 3: in the Rye.
- 1:19:35Speaker 4: I think she means like, yeah, that in any assignment
- 1:19:37Speaker 4: she got, with the help of whatever, the internet and AI,
- 1:19:42Speaker 4: like she doesn't have to read the whole 300 pages.
- 1:19:46Speaker 2: In order to, yeah.
- 1:19:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like we could hook her up with
- 1:19:49Speaker 3: some suggestions.
- 1:19:50Speaker 4: I feel like reading's gonna come back in style. I
- 1:19:53Speaker 4: heard reading was coming back in. That's why bookstores are
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: doing better and that people want, it looks cool to
- 1:19:59Speaker 4: like hold a real book and be out.
- 1:20:01Speaker 3: I love a book. I would love to write a book.
- 1:20:03Speaker 3: I love books. I hope she reads more books. Kate.
- 1:20:07Speaker 3: We'll help her out.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: Thank you for coming.
- 1:20:10Speaker 3: Thank you for having me.
- 1:20:11Speaker 4: You can follow Kate Casey and her show is reality
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: life with Kate Casey. She puts so many episodes out
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: a week.
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: How many do you do? Like six, six, six episodes
- 1:20:23Speaker 2: a week.
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: I tell you what to watch Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
- 1:20:26Speaker 3: interview directors, executive producers, people that are featured in reality
- 1:20:30Speaker 3: shows or documentaries. And then every Saturday I feature somebody
- 1:20:33Speaker 3: who has like a crazy life story.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:36Speaker 3: Saturday, this Saturday is somebody who escaped a cult.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: I love it.
- 1:20:41Speaker 3: Those are always good.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: I love an escaping a cult story. I definitely feel
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: like cults are struggling as an industry.
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: No, they're not.
- 1:20:49Speaker 2: Thanks to documentaries. Yes, they are. They definitely are, I think.
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: Social media, that's the new wave. Have you seen the
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: new woman who lives in L.A. and she goes to
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: sign books and people walk up and they shake and
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: they fall over? She says she can heal people. She's
- 1:21:05Speaker 3: the new John of God.
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: But is a proper cult one where you have to
- 1:21:10Speaker 2: live there?
- 1:21:11Speaker 3: No, not necessarily.
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: I think there's cult-like light where maybe you just spend
- 1:21:18Speaker 4: a lot of time at that place and you give
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: a lot of money. And even like a Scientology, people
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: would say it's a cult or not, but they don't
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: all live there. Some people have their own homes and everything. So, yeah,
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: I think there's different levels of it.
- 1:21:33Speaker 3: Lots of spending money on courses, changing your belief system
- 1:21:37Speaker 3: to accommodate somebody that you believe is a guru. God, guru,
- 1:21:42Speaker 3: that's like, that's a lot of time. You know, that's
- 1:21:44Speaker 3: a lot of work.
- 1:21:45Speaker 2: A lot of effort, yeah.
- 1:21:46Speaker 3: Who wants to do that?
- 1:21:47Speaker 2: I think docs have really hurt cults and churches.
- 1:21:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:21:50Speaker 3: White clothes.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:21:52Speaker 3: That's like a lot of work to have like a
- 1:21:55Speaker 3: monochromatic look every day to stick with one color. You know,
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: it's a lot of work.
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: It's a lot of work.
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: It's a lot of bleed. Oh, by the way, people
- 1:22:04Speaker 3: can go to katecasey.substack.com and every week they'll get a weekly.
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: This is what you should watch this week list. So
- 1:22:10Speaker 3: it'll save you time.
- 1:22:11Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:22:12Speaker 4: And like the hot thing and you have great taste.
- 1:22:15Speaker 4: And everything for me, you guys, it's at heathermcdonald.net. I
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: will be at Desert Ridge Improv in Phoenix this weekend,
- 1:22:23Speaker 4: October 9th and 10th.
- 1:22:25Speaker 2: Two shows a night.
- 1:22:27Speaker 4: Friday is 7 and 9. I think seven to nine
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: or nine 30. And then Saturday it's early at six
- 1:22:35Speaker 4: and eight 30. So come to the show, laugh, meet me,
- 1:22:39Speaker 4: meet and greets are available.
- 1:22:41Speaker 3: Thank you.

- 1:22:44Speaker 3: Endless choice. Skip the hassle.
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: Reward the easy way.
