- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the New Realm Compliance Brief, Volume one, Edition 11 for Tuesday, August 25. Our top story. In New Mexico, two cannabis operators and the Cannabis Association of New Mexico have asked the state court to halt the cannabis control division switch from the biotrack tracking system to a new state run seed to sale platform under the state's cutover schedule. Product transfers stop today at five p. M.
- 0:27Testing resumes August 31 and the new system becomes mandatory September 4. The chief executive of Oasis Cannabis said a six day interruption in testing transfers and inventory receiving amounts to a government imposed shutdown. The division said its goal is a transition that is as seamless as possible. At the federal level, the Beverage Regulatory Parity Act picked up two more houseco sponsors on Monday. The bill introduced by Democratic representative Greg Landsman of Ohio with Republican representative Beth Van Dyne of Texas would regulate hemp derived THC beverages through an alcohol style three tier distribution system with age limits of 21 and up, mandatory testing and labeling, and a federal excise tax based on THC content.
- 1:15The sponsors presented as an alternative regulatory path ahead of the zero point four milligram per container federal cap that takes effect November 12. Around the states, Montana adopted changes to its marijuana packaging, labeling and tracking rules. Colorado issued a health and safety bulletin on pesticide contaminated vaporizers with draft rule changes up for review on Wednesday, and California ordered a marijuana product recall over compliance testing failures. On the radar, tomorrow, August 26, the corrected DEA rescheduling hearing transcript is due on the agency's website. September 8, Canada's retaliatory tariffs begin, and November 12, the federal Hemp THC limits take effect.
