- 0:00Dayna Roselli: It's episode 202 of Vegas Revealed.
- 0:03Dayna Roselli: Las Vegas is a 24-hour town, right?
- 0:05Dayna Roselli: Well, it used to be we dished on the dining trend that 86's late night eats.
- 0:11Sean McAllister: A Nashville honky tonk at the heart of the Las Vegas strip, our first hand experience at Blake Shelton's Old Red, and the most exclusive table at the place.
- 0:22Dayna Roselli: When Kylie and Christina are away, a new show is filling Voltaire.
- 0:26Dayna Roselli: We just checked it out and we'll have some thoughts.
- 0:28Sean McAllister: More new experiences at Fountain Blue, Resorts World, Cozies Up to Vegas locals, and even more signs of Super Bowl 58.
- 0:38Sean McAllister: That and more this week on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:41Sean McAllister: And we want to give a shout-out to our sponsor, the Vegas Near Me app.
- 0:45Sean McAllister: If it's fun to do or see, it's on Vegas Near Me.
- 0:49Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 0:50Sean McAllister: Let's spin that wheel.
- 1:00Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed episode 202.
- 1:03Dayna Roselli: And we need to start with the Super Bowl because it's less than 25 days away now.
- 1:08Sean McAllister: I know.
- 1:08Sean McAllister: We just saw we were down on the strip.
- 1:10Sean McAllister: There were a Marquise up and down the strip the other day with the countdown, 25-day countdown to Super Bowl 58 on February 11th over at Allegiance Stadium.
- 1:21Sean McAllister: I can't believe how close it's getting.
- 1:23Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:24Dayna Roselli: And you're it's just like it feels like there must be all this planning behind the scenes, you know, and so much scrambling going on.
- 1:30Dayna Roselli: I can only imagine.
- 1:31Dayna Roselli: I'm glad that we're not part of that.
- 1:33Dayna Roselli: I know there's a lot of pressure, you know?
- 1:35Sean McAllister: Well, there's a lot of pressure, and there's a lot of events that need to happen here in Las Vegas before we even get to Super Bowl.
- 1:41Sean McAllister: So there is a lot of scrambling happening for a lot of different reasons.
- 1:45Dayna Roselli: Well, the NFL just announced the pregame entertainers, and there's some familiar faces who visit Las Vegas and perform in Las Vegas on that list.
- 1:54Sean McAllister: Yeah, the national anthem is about to get fancy this year because Reba McIntyre is stepping out there to sing the national anthem with the flag flying.
- 2:04Sean McAllister: And uh that's gonna be a good one.
- 2:06Sean McAllister: I love that they chose Reba for this.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: I think a country music artist is important to have at the Super Bowl because I mean, country music has always been big, but I just feel like it is huger than ever.
- 2:18Dayna Roselli: And we need that country music representation at the big game.
- 2:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, we do.
- 2:23Sean McAllister: Also, Post Malone, who just did New Year's Eve over at Fountain Blue, is singing America the Beautiful before kickoff.
- 2:32Dayna Roselli: Okay, and Andre Day is doing Lift Every Voice and Sing before the show as well.
- 2:38Dayna Roselli: So a nice lineup there and a good variety, I think.
- 2:40Sean McAllister: It is.
- 2:41Sean McAllister: And then, of course, Usher taking center stage for the Super Bowl halftime show, which I uh there have been some new teasers released for Usher's performance, and it's it feels like he's gonna go back to his roots a little bit.
- 2:56Sean McAllister: Maybe there's gonna be like a church choir involved.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: Which is great.
- 3:00Sean McAllister: And yeah, I I have a feeling he's gonna represent each era of his career and possibly pull out some uh collaborators as well.
- 3:09Sean McAllister: Well, he said he would have collaborators, yeah.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: He already told us that, right?
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but you're right.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: I mean, he's been doing some good teasers, and I happen to have Apple Music free for a month because I took advantage of another trial and then I'll cancel it.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: And since it's the Apple halftime show, they've been pushing a lot of content out, you know, related to Usher and the videos and teasers and stuff like that.
- 3:29Dayna Roselli: So I've been able to watch it all.
- 3:30Dayna Roselli: It looks exciting.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: And, you know, again, we say this about so many different things.
- 3:34Dayna Roselli: You forget how many hits that Usher has.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's gonna be difficult for him to pick just, you know, however many, four or five, or I don't know, maybe he'll do like a bigger, you know, uh mix of all of them and just make them really short.
- 3:48Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 3:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, he's gonna have to do some mashups.
- 3:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think mashups, a big uh collaboration, uh compilation of his biggest hits.
- 3:57Sean McAllister: Someone else who has a ton of big hits is also performing on the strip uh during Super Bowl weekend.
- 4:06Sean McAllister: Kelly Clarkson is bringing her chemistry residency back to uh Planet Hollywood during Super to entertain all the fans who are here for Super Bowl.
- 4:17Sean McAllister: So Kelly Clarkson will be here.
- 4:19Sean McAllister: Miranda Lambert will not.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:21Dayna Roselli: Because I think we saw on a website somewhere that it was Miranda Lambert, and we're like, no, no, no, it's Kelly now.
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: And so we wanted to make that clear.
- 4:27Dayna Roselli: If anyone sees that and still wanted a chance to see Kelly Clarkson at Planet Hollywood, uh, she'll be here Super Bowl weekend performing.
- 4:35Sean McAllister: And of course, if you are coming into town for that big game, whether you have tickets to Allegiant Stadium or not, there's gonna be a lot going on from opening night over at Allegiance Stadium that Monday to the NFL experience happening down at Mandalay Bay.
- 4:50Sean McAllister: There's gonna be uh an NFL music festival, there's kind of a food festival happening as well.
- 4:59Sean McAllister: So there's lots to experience in in addition to the uh parties and events that individual properties are putting on.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: I know, and like it's interesting because you know, with the Super Bowl, like people coming in just for that week are gonna have so many other things to experience that we already have here anyway.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 5:17Dayna Roselli: You know, they might want to hit Hell's Kitchen, Gordon Ramsey's restaurant, they may want to go to Lisa Vanderpump's cocktail garden, either over at Caesar's Palace or over at the Paris, you know.
- 5:28Dayna Roselli: Martha Stewart has a restaurant here now over at the Paris, Giata at the Cromwell.
- 5:34Dayna Roselli: I mean, we have so many amazing, you know, restaurants that um the to-do list is gonna be long, including all the things you have to do centered around Super Bowl.
- 5:43Sean McAllister: Well, and Guy Fieti also.
- 5:44Sean McAllister: I know his restaurant over at the link, they're doing a big party out on the patio that they have there.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: That's gonna be like kind of an all-inclusive ticket.
- 5:53Sean McAllister: Right.
- 5:53Sean McAllister: And then Guy himself is throwing a big parking lot tailgate out behind the high roller in that big parking lot that they have out there.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: Oh, I love that.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's perfect because he was in, you know, that Super Bowl movie that had the four ladies that love Tom Brady.
- 6:09Sean McAllister: Oh, the 80 for Brady movie.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: 80 for Brady movie.
- 6:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Guy Fieti was in that.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: He was doing like a chicken wing contest.
- 6:14Dayna Roselli: So I like, I feel like it's important for him to be at the Super Bowl, and how perfect that he happens to have a few spots here already.
- 6:20Sean McAllister: It is.
- 6:21Sean McAllister: That is very perfect.
- 6:22Dayna Roselli: So I wonder if he'll be putting on the chicken wing eating contest over there at the link.
- 6:25Sean McAllister: It wouldn't surprise me.
- 6:26Sean McAllister: I know.
- 6:27Sean McAllister: If there's any time to do it, it's it's during Super Bowl.
- 6:30Sean McAllister: Well, Dana, you bring up restaurants, and there has been a trend going on with restaurants on the strip and off the strip.
- 6:38Sean McAllister: I'll I'll add as well.
- 6:40Sean McAllister: Um, people are having a hard time getting a late night reservation.
- 6:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's because the they're not open.
- 6:46Sean McAllister: Because they don't exist.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: No, and I was on an elevator recently, and some folks were talking about this, and I thought, you know, it's so interesting.
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: We were just talking about this recently, and then especially around New Year's Eve.
- 6:56Dayna Roselli: Um, and I and I'm starting to think like, is this this is actually a thing now?
- 7:01Dayna Roselli: Like restaurants are closing mostly by like 10, 10:30, and like 11 at the very latest.
- 7:08Dayna Roselli: What I'm saying is like it's really, really hard to find a place that's open after 11.
- 7:13Sean McAllister: So getting a reservation, you're probably only going to get a reservation up until like 10 o'clock.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 7:21Sean McAllister: If you're lucky.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: It was even New Year's Eve.
- 7:24Dayna Roselli: It was hard to find.
- 7:25Dayna Roselli: Some restaurants, the ones that we were looking at, all close at 11.
- 7:28Dayna Roselli: And I thought, well, you're not even gonna stay open till midnight.
- 7:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 7:30Dayna Roselli: I don't get it.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: Uh so it's interesting.
- 7:32Dayna Roselli: I don't know why.
- 7:33Dayna Roselli: And I I mean, they must not get the amount of people that they used to get, and it's just not worth keeping staff there.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: It's the only thing I can think of.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: Um, but I have people that come into town all the time, and like a lot of people come from the East Coast or whatever, and they arrive late, right?
- 7:50Dayna Roselli: And they're like, hey, I'm gonna be in, but my conference starts tomorrow.
- 7:53Dayna Roselli: Tonight's my only chance to see you.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: Wanna go out to dinner, but I don't land until 8:30.
- 7:59Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: Right?
- 8:00Dayna Roselli: So by the time they get settled, like, are you up for a late night dinner?
- 8:03Dayna Roselli: That's happened to me a lot.
- 8:04Dayna Roselli: And I'll go right to the Vegas Near Me app and start searching, like where, you know, what places are open a little bit later.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: And I can't believe that the only like list of things I'm seeing are like fast food restaurants and stuff.
- 8:18SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: It's like the restaurants are closed.
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: I'm like, what, why?
- 8:22Dayna Roselli: How?
- 8:22Dayna Roselli: What?
- 8:22Dayna Roselli: It's Vegas.
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: So I don't know.
- 8:25Sean McAllister: I I know I knew that we were we've been talking about this topic between ourselves.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:30Sean McAllister: And as I was driving down Flamingo the other day, which this is not on the strip, it is about 10 minutes off the strip, but the Blueberry Hill family restaurant right on Flamingo is open 24 hours.
- 8:43Dayna Roselli: Oh, good, good.
- 8:44Sean McAllister: They have an Italian, it's they kind of have a menu like Cheesecake Factory, where it's they have everything plus all their homemade desserts.
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: Okay, that's good to know.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: So if you need a real late night diner, I mean, late night diner is always great, right?
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: Um, but though that's yeah, that's good to know.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: It's rare.
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: It's rare these days to find that.
- 9:04Dayna Roselli: So I don't know what the deal is.
- 9:05Dayna Roselli: Anyway, we're looking for your insight.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: I mean, those of you in the food and beverage world here in Las Vegas, drop us an email, ideas at vegas-revealed.com.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: What's the deal?
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: Why is everything closing early?
- 9:18Dayna Roselli: We feel like it never used to be that way.
- 9:20Sean McAllister: Or if you have a great late night hot spot, a hidden secret that people don't really know about, maybe you're reluctant to share because you want to keep it your own late night hotspot.
- 9:31Sean McAllister: But if there are any suggestions you have, we'd love to share them here on the podcast because we have, like you said, Dana, had lots of conversations about this, and people want this information.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: It it's true.
- 9:46Dayna Roselli: They do.
- 9:47Dayna Roselli: I'm doing that bachelorette, you know, and we have a show at 10 p.m.
- 9:52Dayna Roselli: We have to go obviously to dinner before, but like some people want to do a little happy hour or not even a happy hour, have some drinks, go to a show at 10 o'clock, and they want to do a late night dinner.
- 10:02Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:03Dayna Roselli: That is there's there was nothing.
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: So we flipped it and did 6 45 dinner, 10 o'clock show.
- 10:10Dayna Roselli: Jeez.
- 10:10Dayna Roselli: And now we're going to a nightclub after.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: So it should be an interesting night.
- 10:14Dayna Roselli: Stay tuned for that one.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: Um, listen, speaking of late night, we did go to a new show over at Voltaire at the Venetian.
- 10:22Dayna Roselli: You and I had not been in Voltaire yet, and they are doing a show that kind of fills the nights when Kylie Minogue and Christine Aguilera are not there performing.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: So they wanted to be able to fill that space, put on something that people could enjoy and go in, get a cocktail.
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: And let me tell you, when we both walked in, we were like, wow, this is the most stunning.
- 10:45Dayna Roselli: I would say, I would say, and I feel confident saying it's the most stunning venue in Vegas.
- 10:51Sean McAllister: It's the theater itself is absolutely stunning.
- 10:56Sean McAllister: And the show that is performed there is called Belle des Nuits, which means beauty of the night in French, and that's kind of the vibe that you have in there is like kind of a a French art deco, modern, uh, burlesque, uh Studio 54, disco, like kind of all of that mixed together.
- 11:20Sean McAllister: And I know that one of the uh features that we all liked sitting at our table were these translucent floating orbs up in the ceiling.
- 11:31Sean McAllister: There are tons of them.
- 11:32Sean McAllister: Looks like bubbles.
- 11:33Sean McAllister: It does, it looks like bubbles, they change height, they go up and down throughout the show depending on what's going on.
- 11:38Sean McAllister: There's disco balls that come down.
- 11:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was.
- 11:42Dayna Roselli: I mean, and then uh toward the end when I was leaving, I actually walked specifically toward the back because we were kind of close to the stage just to see what it looked like from the back.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: And it's just gorgeous.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: Everything, like you said, hanging from the ceiling.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: I mean, the booths, the the art kind of deco-ish.
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: I don't know, it's like all over the bar was beautiful, all of it.
- 12:02Sean McAllister: It is, and the they have it looks like uh it almost looks like these giant crystal formations are growing on the wall, and there's a big and that the same kind of motif is used in this big DJ booth that's hovering over the entire audience up and uh up up there.
- 12:22Sean McAllister: And I thought that they also I was having a conversation with our friend Stacey, and we were talking about these crystal y kind of decor, and uh we're like, doesn't it remind you of uh the planet that Superman came from?
- 12:36Sean McAllister: Like when he was a baby, you know how there were like these crystal formations that were coming up out of the ground, right?
- 12:42Sean McAllister: Yes, we're like, oh, it kind of reminds me of that.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: I oh my gosh, I'm a huge Superman fan.
- 12:47Dayna Roselli: So I know exactly what you're talking about, especially uh Superman 2.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: So yeah, it does.
- 12:54Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 12:55Dayna Roselli: It's it is cool.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: I've never seen anything like it in Vegas.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: I do think it's it's stunning.
- 13:00Dayna Roselli: If you get a chance to go in there, you might want to go see this show because it's 75 bucks, so it's affordable.
- 13:07Dayna Roselli: And now apparently, when Kylie goes on, and I don't know about Christina, I uh think I was talking to someone who said, Oh, I saw I saw that, or at least parts of it.
- 13:15Dayna Roselli: That's what they do before Kylie comes on, and before Christina.
- 13:20Dayna Roselli: So, but this is like uh, I think a little bit of a longer version.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: So all that's happening, but they're dedicating and they're like, Well, we might as well, you know, have the the cast perform and do this so more people can get in on the nights that they are not there, Kylie and Christina.
- 13:34Dayna Roselli: And shows are at 9.15, they are 8.15 on Sundays, and like I said, tickets are only 75 bucks.
- 13:40Sean McAllister: And this show is it's it's it feels very upscale um in the way that it's presented, but it's also like there's some tongue-in-cheek moments.
- 13:53Sean McAllister: There's the acts don't take themselves too seriously, and there's such a great variety.
- 13:59Sean McAllister: I would love to see Voltaire absolutely packed every single night that they put on Belle de Nui, especially with a ticket price of$75.
- 14:10Sean McAllister: I think that's one of the best ticket prices in Las Vegas.
- 14:13Dayna Roselli: Well, because I think you get to enjoy the venue.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: There's a lot of breaks, so it's not like you go in, there's a show, and you're out.
- 14:18Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 14:18Dayna Roselli: You know, you don't have to leave.
- 14:20Dayna Roselli: You don't have to, there's breaks in between where you can go grab a drink or, you know, order from the waitress or have a conversation with your friends, you know, and listen to the music.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: So it's more of an experience where you're kind of not in and out, which I like.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: And they don't kick you out after the show, they say, hey, stay.
- 14:36Sean McAllister: Enjoy it.
- 14:37Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 14:37Sean McAllister: Enjoy the space, grab more cocktails, make it your own.
- 14:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah, right.
- 14:43Dayna Roselli: Just open your wallet.
- 14:44Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 14:46Dayna Roselli: But I did enjoy it.
- 14:47Dayna Roselli: I'm glad they're doing that uh to offer.
- 14:49Dayna Roselli: On a completely like total flip side, we went to Old Red, Blake Shelton's new honky tonk, right there on the strip at Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo, right in front of the horseshoe, across the street from the Bellagio.
- 15:02Dayna Roselli: We checked it out on Family and Friends Night, which was fun, but it is now officially open.
- 15:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this was it is a total Nashville vibe.
- 15:11Sean McAllister: If you have been to the honky tonks on Broadway in Nashville, it almost transports you there, except in Nashville, you don't get the views of the strip.
- 15:24Sean McAllister: And uh the interior of Old Red is pretty cool.
- 15:29Sean McAllister: It's three levels inside with a rooftop patio on the fourth level, and it's all open to this central stage that uh where they have live performers there.
- 15:42Sean McAllister: There's a video wall that goes from floor to ceiling, and then you look up to the ceiling and there's uh a big vintage tractor hanging there.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's pretty cool, right?
- 15:53Dayna Roselli: Only Blake Shelton would do that, right?
- 15:56Dayna Roselli: And old reds are popular, you know, and I know this is I'm assuming the biggest one.
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: The largest.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: The largest, yeah.
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: I thought I read that.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: Um, so people have been waiting.
- 16:04Dayna Roselli: They lined up to get in on opening day.
- 16:08Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's huge.
- 16:09Dayna Roselli: And then, like you said, the rooftop patio, I think that's gonna be, I mean, it just needs to warm up just a little bit more.
- 16:14Dayna Roselli: That thing's gonna be packed.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: And what a view.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: You can just literally see to the left, well, I'd say to the south and to the north of the strip, right across the street toward the Bellagio.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: Gorgeous.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: It's gonna be a hot spot for sure.
- 16:27Sean McAllister: Yeah, the the rooftop wasn't really open when we were there, but our server was like, hey, do you want to go up and take a look?
- 16:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 16:33Sean McAllister: Like, yeah, sure.
- 16:34Sean McAllister: And she showed us the most exclusive table at all red.
- 16:39Sean McAllister: Right.
- 16:39Dayna Roselli: What is it called?
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: 777.
- 16:41Sean McAllister: The 777 table.
- 16:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's right there on the corner, like you're right at the edge, not like on the edge, but where you have the best view.
- 16:48Dayna Roselli: There's nothing, you know, surrounding you, no table to your left or right.
- 16:52Dayna Roselli: And so it's it's like just a perfect spot to really sit there on the strip.
- 16:58Sean McAllister: It kind of juts out on a peninsula and it's got curtains that can close it off.
- 17:03Sean McAllister: If it is a super VIP experience, there's a an ice bucket built right into the table.
- 17:08Sean McAllister: So if you have bottle service or whatever, they just chuck the bottles right down in there.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:13Sean McAllister: And it's right to it's to the side of the stage, just to the right of the stage.
- 17:18Sean McAllister: So you've got a great view of anyone who's performing.
- 17:21Sean McAllister: Right.
- 17:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's gonna be a very popular spot.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: It'll do so well.
- 17:25Dayna Roselli: I know they're doing stuff for Super Bowl too.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: Blake wasn't there at the opening.
- 17:29Dayna Roselli: I think this is kind of a soft opening.
- 17:31Dayna Roselli: Um, and then I know he's supposed to come in around April, and he's already talked about I'm gonna be popping in there a lot.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: So you never know when Blake will show up, which is kind of the fun part too, right?
- 17:40Dayna Roselli: Um, also, uh, I was reading on social media and he actually tagged us our friend Sam Riddle, country singer.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: He's gonna be performing there, I think, regularly.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: Um, so I'm excited for him, and they have a whole lineup of people, which we love.
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: Uh, we looked uh at the menu, we ordered a few things off the menu.
- 17:57Dayna Roselli: I loved the fried pickles.
- 17:59Dayna Roselli: I thought it was delicious.
- 18:00Dayna Roselli: The burger was great too.
- 18:01Sean McAllister: It was, yeah, and those pickles were delicious.
- 18:03Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: I could just sit there and eat a mound of them.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: Oh my god, delish.
- 18:08Sean McAllister: They were like thin cut, uh almost like pickle ribbons that were then breaded and fried.
- 18:15Sean McAllister: And the dipping sauce was more than just a regular like ranch dipping sauce.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I don't know what it was.
- 18:21Dayna Roselli: They needed more though to serve with it.
- 18:24Sean McAllister: So good.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: But yeah, everyone's different with their fried pickles.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: Sometimes they have the little ones, you know, where they just have them little circular ones.
- 18:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, sometimes the full like pickle sphere, and then the then this one was kind of sliced, like you said, longer.
- 18:39Dayna Roselli: But the the burger was delicious too.
- 18:41Dayna Roselli: Um, we did get the mushroom tacos, and we did tell our waitress they were a little too what smoky kind of tasting.
- 18:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, I think they used liquid smoke in there.
- 18:50Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 18:50Sean McAllister: And it it was really prominent.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, really prominent.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: And she said, Okay, we'll fix that, you know.
- 18:55Dayna Roselli: But they wanted some feedback, so hopefully we we made an adjustment that will, you know, help others.
- 19:01Sean McAllister: Yes.
- 19:02Sean McAllister: And we had some barbecue sliders too, and those were really good.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: Uh the drink menu, yeah, it's a little pricey.
- 19:08Dayna Roselli: It's the strip, it's all red, you know.
- 19:11Dayna Roselli: Um, but they were$24 for cocktails, I think it was for a lot of them, and um, you know, different kinds of beers and stuff on there.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: We didn't um really write it down or anything, but but you'll see them floating around.
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: I just saw a bunch of people put the menu on Twitter and stuff like that.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: But it it's the strip, and things are a little bit more expensive than than normal, but it was a great experience overall.
- 19:33Sean McAllister: And the vibe in there is a plus.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah, a plus.
- 19:36Dayna Roselli: The music's really loud.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: Be prepared for that.
- 19:38Dayna Roselli: If you have kids, you might even want to bring some earplugs.
- 19:41Dayna Roselli: It's pretty loud.
- 19:42Sean McAllister: It was loud.
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:43Dayna Roselli: For the just for the kids.
- 19:44Sean McAllister: When the live musicians were performing, and they had just like the house music turned on.
- 19:49Sean McAllister: It was like more of a uh normal level.
- 19:53Sean McAllister: But yeah, it really gets kicking in there.
- 19:55Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 19:55Dayna Roselli: I look forward to going back again when it's uh now that it's officially open.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: They have a great merchandise area as well.
- 20:00Dayna Roselli: Hey, I went to the wind to see Sebastian Manaskelko, one of my faves.
- 20:04Dayna Roselli: You hear me talk about him all the time.
- 20:06Dayna Roselli: My friend was in town and he said, I've never seen Sebastian.
- 20:08Dayna Roselli: I was like, let's go.
- 20:10Dayna Roselli: Um, he was hilarious as always.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: And what I love is every time I see him, he has new material.
- 20:15Dayna Roselli: It's never like the same thing.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: Cause I thought I saw him about like shortly after, um, I always call it after COVID, but it was after 2020, but like, you know, right on the cusp there when things started kicking back up again.
- 20:30Dayna Roselli: Um, and he um performed over at the Encore at the Win.
- 20:33Dayna Roselli: He's still there all the time.
- 20:34Dayna Roselli: He's back Super Bowl weekend.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: He's coming back in March again and then May.
- 20:38Dayna Roselli: His jokes are non-stop.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: I never stopped laughing the entire time.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: And I had so many people on my Facebook say, Oh, I didn't know he was in town.
- 20:47Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, Well, he's in town a lot.
- 20:49Dayna Roselli: He's really become a regular at the Encore at the Wynn.
- 20:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, he has.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: So he's excellent.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: Um, and I just I could go on and on about how much I love him.
- 20:57Dayna Roselli: But even when I post about it, everyone else feels I know there's so many people that feel the same that have followed him for years and years.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: He's really like literally just one of the best top-notch comedians.
- 21:07Dayna Roselli: This lady, oh my gosh, this poor lady came from the east coast.
- 21:09Dayna Roselli: It was the 10:30 show.
- 21:11Dayna Roselli: She came from the, she must have just flown in.
- 21:13Dayna Roselli: I think she said once he woke her up as she was sleeping on her husband's shoulder.
- 21:17Sean McAllister: Um Sebastian woke her up.
- 21:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he's woke her up.
- 21:20Dayna Roselli: Um, and so that can you can only imagine how that went, right?
- 21:23Dayna Roselli: And how funny it was.
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: But she flew in from the East Coast.
- 21:27Dayna Roselli: So it was like, you know, at that time it was like 11:30.
- 21:30Dayna Roselli: So 12:30, 132.
- 21:31Dayna Roselli: It was like 2:30 her time.
- 21:33SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 21:33Dayna Roselli: They flew in that night, and her husband insisted they go to this show because it was the only time they had to see Sebastian, and she fell asleep on his shoulder, and Sebastian gave her a really hard time.
- 21:43Sean McAllister: So I've never seen Sebastian live.
- 21:46Sean McAllister: Does he have a lot of fun with the audience?
- 21:48Sean McAllister: Does he play with people?
- 21:48Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, tons of fun.
- 21:50Sean McAllister: So there's a lot of off the cuff moments.
- 21:52Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah.
- 21:52Dayna Roselli: The dude with the sunglasses in the front row really, you know, Sebastian was like, You gotta have a lot of confidence to walk in here with your sunglasses.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: And your orange coat looking like a construction cone.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: Some lady was screaming in the balcony.
- 22:07Dayna Roselli: He was like, her fentanyl's just kicking in.
- 22:09Dayna Roselli: Oh my God.
- 22:10Dayna Roselli: Be careful.
- 22:10Dayna Roselli: I think she might jump off the balcony soon.
- 22:13unknown: Jeez.
- 22:14Dayna Roselli: He was pointing out some single ladies that walked in late.
- 22:18Dayna Roselli: And uh the whole thing.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: He's hilarious and has a lot of fun with the audience and quick, but then he gets right back into his monologue.
- 22:26Dayna Roselli: It's great how he does it.
- 22:27Dayna Roselli: It's flawless.
- 22:28Sean McAllister: That's great.
- 22:29Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 22:29Dayna Roselli: So anyway, you can check him out again.
- 22:31Dayna Roselli: Super Bowl weekend, March and May, and then I'm sure he'll add more dates.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: Um, before that, I went over to Q at Fountain Blue.
- 22:36Dayna Roselli: It's one of the restaurants I hadn't tried yet.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: Because you know I live around the corner, and so I'm there all the time.
- 22:42Dayna Roselli: Um it was pretty decent.
- 22:43Dayna Roselli: Um, we had a couple issues with our food orders, but you know what?
- 22:46Dayna Roselli: We talked to the manager.
- 22:47Dayna Roselli: She was great.
- 22:48Dayna Roselli: She said, you know, here's some free dessert.
- 22:51Dayna Roselli: She made good on some of the errors that were made.
- 22:53Dayna Roselli: Um, some things took long to come out because it's supposed to be more of a family style place.
- 22:58SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: Um, so things came out, and then something else didn't come out for like another 30 to 40 minutes.
- 23:04Dayna Roselli: And we're like, oh, where's the, you know, we got the Korean fried chicken.
- 23:08Dayna Roselli: And um the chicken inside, uh, the meat of this chicken was excellent.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: The waiter recommended it.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: Um, I wouldn't say it was like the best Korean fried chicken I've ever had or anything, but it was good.
- 23:20Dayna Roselli: Um, but what we loved was the um tuna crispy rice was excellent.
- 23:25Dayna Roselli: And we got this cauliflower, like this charred cauliflower was delicious.
- 23:30Dayna Roselli: They bring it out, they chop it up right on the plate for you to share it.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: It's like a big, huge portion.
- 23:36Dayna Roselli: And it's got some oil on it, some sauce.
- 23:39Dayna Roselli: It was, it was delicious.
- 23:40Dayna Roselli: So I highly recommend that cauliflower.
- 23:42Sean McAllister: And isn't Q isn't that the restaurant that has the most expensive chicken dish in Las Vegas?
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: I can't remember if it's 360 or 380 or 340, but one of those.
- 23:53Dayna Roselli: And the waiter, um, when we said, Hey, what do you recommend?
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: He he recommended that first.
- 23:59Dayna Roselli: And I were like, and my friend was like, I mean, could you start?
- 24:02Dayna Roselli: Maybe you could like buffer that in, but like the two of us are not ordering a$350 chicken.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: I hear it's great, I'm sure it's delicious, but we were like, Well, why don't you start like you know lower and and slowly climb up to that?
- 24:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, yeah.
- 24:17Dayna Roselli: So that was funny.
- 24:18Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: Then there were a lot of seats that were open near like the windows because it's one of the few restaurants.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: I might be the only restaurant.
- 24:25Dayna Roselli: It's the only one, yeah, in Fountain Blue that has windows in it.
- 24:28Dayna Roselli: And so, and they sat us back by the bathrooms.
- 24:30Dayna Roselli: And my friend, too, he was he he likes to speak up.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: He was like, Can we move?
- 24:34Dayna Roselli: There's like a lot of tables up front that aren't filled.
- 24:37Dayna Roselli: And I understand they probably have sections like the waiters and stuff.
- 24:40Dayna Roselli: But he was like, Can we not sit in the corner by the bathrooms?
- 24:42Dayna Roselli: So they moved us.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: So anything that we brought up, they did respond to.
- 24:46Dayna Roselli: I know they're new, I know you know it's gonna take some time.
- 24:50Dayna Roselli: The food that I had was good.
- 24:51Dayna Roselli: Um, I'm not sure I'll return to Q if I had a choice, but it, but, but maybe, maybe.
- 24:58Dayna Roselli: Um, so but I uh I have gone to Mother Wolf and I've gone to Komodo and love those in the Fountain Blue.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: It wasn't a bad experience, it just wasn't my favorite.
- 25:06Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:07Sean McAllister: And uh you were over at Wynn for a little bit also.
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 25:11Dayna Roselli: So after that, I went to Sebastian, you know, and I thought that was interesting because when I went into Wynn, um, two, well, because my friend was staying there the night of it was busy, but even the morning, it was like a Monday at like 10:30 in the morning, it was packed.
- 25:25SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 25:25Dayna Roselli: The line it was Martin Luther King Jr.
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: Day.
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: And I know a lot of people had a long weekend.
- 25:30Dayna Roselli: So, but I was like surprised.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: I walked by the buffet, it was like this long line and like several, you know, like I don't even know, it was like 10, 20 deep.
- 25:38Dayna Roselli: And then I had to wait in line to go to Terrace Cafe, which I loved.
- 25:41Dayna Roselli: And we did it, we got through in about 25 minutes.
- 25:43Dayna Roselli: It wasn't a big deal because we were there.
- 25:45Dayna Roselli: Um, but when I went to win, what I did like about the parking garage there is it kind of um remember you and I we were at a different hotel, and even though we were locals and we were before the three-hour limit, we had to still sit there in the backed up line waiting for the parking garage lever to lift.
- 26:02Dayna Roselli: And we had to put in the ticket, then scan our license.
- 26:06Dayna Roselli: And then, of course, as parking meters never pick up, it takes forever to scan your license until it you get it just right.
- 26:12Dayna Roselli: And so the lines backing up, all that.
- 26:14Dayna Roselli: What I loved at the win was that it opened it kind of knows your plate or whatever when you once you get your ticket, whether it reads your plate, whether it knows you're local, and it just opens right up.
- 26:24SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: And I loved that.
- 26:25Dayna Roselli: Um, I thought that was really great.
- 26:27Dayna Roselli: When I left Fountain Blue, that one you put the ticket in, and if you're before the whatever limit there is, I think it's four hours, it just opens right up.
- 26:34Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 26:34Dayna Roselli: So there's none of that, like get out your Nevada ID, try and scan it, hold up the whole line.
- 26:38Dayna Roselli: And I'm hoping every parking garage kind of follows along those lines.
- 26:42Sean McAllister: Well, then let me ask you this.
- 26:43Sean McAllister: When I know we went to uh Voltaire to see the um the new show that they have there.
- 26:49Sean McAllister: When you left, did the gate automatically open for you?
- 26:54Sean McAllister: Or did you have to scan your ID?
- 26:56Dayna Roselli: Um, we before we walked into the garage, there was a kiosk.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: Oh.
- 27:01Dayna Roselli: And we put the ticket in and scanned our ID.
- 27:05Dayna Roselli: Oh.
- 27:05Dayna Roselli: And it said now validated.
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 27:08Dayna Roselli: And when I drove out, it the arm did not lift.
- 27:11Dayna Roselli: I thought it was going to.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: I had to put my car in.
- 27:13Dayna Roselli: I hated this too, because it was a ramp you know, it's a ramp.
- 27:15SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 27:15Dayna Roselli: I had to put my car in park, put it the parking brake on, stick out, get my uh ticket back out again, put it in, then it opened.
- 27:24Dayna Roselli: I didn't have to scan my ID again, but it read that okay, she validated in here's something interesting though.
- 27:30Dayna Roselli: So that must not have happened for you.
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: What happened?
- 27:32Dayna Roselli: You you didn't do your ID?
- 27:33Sean McAllister: Well, no, I scanned the um I scanned the ticket and I was at two hours and 54 minutes, so just under the three-hour free parking limit.
- 27:42Sean McAllister: Um, and it was telling me there was a$15 balance.
- 27:46Sean McAllister: But what happened was I got all flustered and nervous because there was a line of traffic starting to build up behind me, and I was like, ugh, I don't and and so it didn't even occur to me to scan my ID because I was like, well, it already knows because it scanned my license plate on the way in.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: So maybe it didn't scan your license plate.
- 28:10Sean McAllister: It was my people don't have the keyboard.
- 28:11Sean McAllister: It was my fault for not scanning my ID.
- 28:14Sean McAllister: And in my moment of panic, I would just took out my debit card and paid.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: I'm hitting that button and I I'm not about to pay$15 if I don't need to.
- 28:26Dayna Roselli: I would have yelled at you if I was in the car.
- 28:28Sean McAllister: I know, I know.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: Here's an idea though.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: So when we left, when we did that, it said, I can't remember what the time was, but it said, um, you're all set and validated.
- 28:38Dayna Roselli: Leave before 11 52 or whatever it was.
- 28:41Dayna Roselli: I can't remember the time.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: Oh, okay.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: So here's a thought.
- 28:44Dayna Roselli: I think that once you get that ticket, and say you're even entering the palazzo at the top of the elevators, there's the kiosk.
- 28:52Dayna Roselli: You can validate your license so you don't forget, put in your thing, and then it tells you what time you need to leave by.
- 28:58Sean McAllister: So it gives you a buffer zone.
- 28:59Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: So then you're all set.
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: Then you put that ticket in.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, but listen to all this.
- 29:04Dayna Roselli: I mean, this is kind of crazy, right?
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: All this like different rules every it's just we never had to deal with this.
- 29:10Dayna Roselli: And I guess that's the point.
- 29:12Dayna Roselli: I don't even care about the money or the free, like, I I that's important too, but it just the ease of getting in and out.
- 29:19Sean McAllister: Right, and different rules everywhere.
- 29:21Sean McAllister: Some are three hours, some are four hours, some there aren't any of that.
- 29:26Sean McAllister: Some some the free parking is for everybody, some it's just for Nevada locals.
- 29:30Sean McAllister: Right.
- 29:31Sean McAllister: You know, there are.
- 29:32Sean McAllister: There's a ton of different rules, and uh there needs to be something uniform.
- 29:36Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 29:37Dayna Roselli: All right, well, why don't we do some tips and and change the subject?
- 29:40Dayna Roselli: How about that?
- 29:45Sean McAllister: All right, well, now we want to give you a heads up about uh getting to and from the sphere, at least for the month of January.
- 29:54Sean McAllister: Um, from January 8th, uh, which is already passed, through the 29th coming up, the pedestrian bridge from the Venetian resort to the sphere is closed.
- 30:07Sean McAllister: So they have been putting out alternative routes for people who are going to the sphere.
- 30:12Sean McAllister: But I will tell you that when we left, uh we pulled out of the Palazzo parking garage and went down Sands Avenue uh going east, and the show, uh postcard from Earth, had just let out at the sphere and all of the pedestrian traffic had to walk on street level.
- 30:30Sean McAllister: And there were so many people that like the crowds spilled off of the sidewalk, like into the road.
- 30:38Sean McAllister: They had cones out to bring it down to one lane for traffic.
- 30:42Sean McAllister: So it definitely created a backup, and it was a long outside chilly walk for anyone who is going to the sphere.
- 30:51Sean McAllister: So just a heads up uh through the end of January, that pedestrian bridge that gets you to the sphere from the Venetian is going to be closed.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: Okay, good to know.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, when I left, I saw that backup of traffic and I did a quick U-turn and went the other way.
- 31:06Sean McAllister: I know.
- 31:07Sean McAllister: I should have.
- 31:08Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 31:09Dayna Roselli: That seems like you that you would.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: I'm surprised you didn't.
- 31:12Sean McAllister: I know.
- 31:12Sean McAllister: See, it was because it it all stemmed from the parking game and all that.
- 31:16Sean McAllister: I was flustered and wasn't in my right mind.
- 31:20Dayna Roselli: Okay, here's another little tip.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: Um, my friend was in town, he listens to the podcast and he said, You got to do this as a tip.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: And I mentioned he was staying at the win, right?
- 31:27Dayna Roselli: He usually stays at the win, um, but he's usually strip side.
- 31:31Dayna Roselli: But he was staying on a side that it's like right near XS Nightclub.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: Right, okay.
- 31:35Dayna Roselli: Close by.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 31:36Dayna Roselli: And he said, you know, the music played all night long, uh, really, you know, late into the night.
- 31:43Dayna Roselli: And it was for him unbearable.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: So he asked to be moved.
- 31:47Dayna Roselli: They were totally cool.
- 31:48Dayna Roselli: Sounds like a lot of people asked to be moved.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: But he thought, just let people know if you're going to the win and you get a room that is near XS nightclub, especially in a lower floor, right?
- 31:58Dayna Roselli: You're gonna hear that music.
- 32:00Dayna Roselli: Be aware.
- 32:00Dayna Roselli: And obviously, you know, only on the nights that Excess is open.
- 32:03Dayna Roselli: I don't know if it's Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or what it is, but um, be aware.
- 32:07Dayna Roselli: Just something to keep in mind if you're planning on staying at the win and you don't want that loud music all night.
- 32:14Dayna Roselli: Um, don't stay on that side of the hotel.
- 32:16Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 32:17Sean McAllister: And you'll know if you get to your room and look out the window, you'll know if the the nightclub's down there.
- 32:22Sean McAllister: Right.
- 32:22Sean McAllister: Um, resorts World, there's some news coming out of Resorts World, and they've started pushing out a lot of deals for Las Vegas locals.
- 32:31Dayna Roselli: They have.
- 32:32Dayna Roselli: They're they're wanting to be the local casino on the strip.
- 32:37Dayna Roselli: Um, so on the strip, you know, we have a lot of like casinos that are off the strip and they're considered locals, but they're like, we want to be the strip hotel casino that caters to locals.
- 32:46Dayna Roselli: So interesting twist there, but they're doing some great things for locals and Nevada residents.
- 32:51Dayna Roselli: And I'm like, well, I mean, this is a deal.
- 32:54Dayna Roselli: Um, they're doing 20% off most of the restaurants inside there if you come in with a Nevada ID.
- 33:03Sean McAllister: Wow, that that's really good.
- 33:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 33:05Dayna Roselli: And this isn't just, you know, anywhere.
- 33:08Dayna Roselli: Some of the premiere dining restaurants, some of the beverage venues.
- 33:12Dayna Roselli: Uh, so I got a list.
- 33:13Dayna Roselli: So write this down, everyone.
- 33:16Dayna Roselli: Crossroads kitchen, doghouse and saloon and sportsbook, Genting Palace.
- 33:21Dayna Roselli: Ugh, that's delicious.
- 33:23Dayna Roselli: Juniors, Husanori, Wally's Wine and Spirits, Viva, Mulberry Street Pizzeria, Foohu, and Redtail, all offering 20% off your bill if you bring in your Nevada ID and show it.
- 33:36Sean McAllister: And by the way, these local deals, they're good Sunday through Thursday.
- 33:41Sean McAllister: So keep that in mind.
- 33:42Dayna Roselli: Now that's a tip, right?
- 33:44Sean McAllister: That is an incredible tip.
