Transcript
- 0:00SPEAKER_00: What investment options do I expect for Argentina?
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Not real estate, probably business investment.
- 0:08SPEAKER_00: And what can make or break the program?
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: Well, if it's uh mismanaged in the sense that applications take too long, or if we see financing scandals where business investment is made but only pro forma and money comes back right away to the investor, that will break the program.
- 0:28SPEAKER_00: I do not expect Argentina to have a real estate option due to information we had from officials uh in Argentina.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: They didn't make uh announcements formally, but we uh understand that they like to have a more active form of investment than real estate.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: That's just our understanding.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: Uh that's not anything that has been announced, but we will see it very soon, I guess.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: Whether it will be in shares or in an operational company, I cannot tell.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: That would be just uh guessing.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: I expect the program to accept the first application in Q1 of next year.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Would there be more Latin American CBI programs because of Argentina?
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: Yes, definitely.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Uh it will whet the appetite of other Latin American countries.
- 1:20SPEAKER_00: They will see what's going on in Argentina.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Remember, El Salvador already has a program, however overpriced, however very small, however focused very much on the Bitcoin community, so it hasn't been very noticed.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: Argentina will be noticed and properly marketed.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: So that will whet the appetite of others.
- 1:40SPEAKER_00: And I can imagine almost any other country in Latin America setting up a program within a few years.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Which country could be the next one to follow Argentina in Latin America?
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: That one is hard to tell because it depends on uh governments in power.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: I think it would be rather center-right governments to do that.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Some countries have elections soon, Colombia, Chile.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: I would say probably it will be smaller countries.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: I don't see Chile doing it, I don't see Brazil doing it.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: It's just not in their how to call it, it's just not on their mind, and I don't think these rather big countries uh would make such a move.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Possibly Ecuador, Central American countries, who knows?
- 2:30SPEAKER_00: Maybe Venezuela, Colombia, Paraguay.
- 2:33SPEAKER_00: Will there be agent commissions in Argentina?
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: It's true that on a donation uh or on a real estate, the agent commission is very easy to calculate, easy to structure.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: It's hard on a business investment.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: I don't know yet how that will be sorted out.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: We have to see uh what options will be offered, what will be the amount, and so on.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: It's too early to tell
