- 0:03Hey, man, I'm not gonna lie, bro. It's been a hell
- 0:07of a couple of weeks for me, just busyness and stuffing. Nothing bad,
- 0:10nothing worth talking about. But it definitely feels good to be on the
- 0:15ground to show with the boys back in the stew the audio. It felt
- 0:23like I didn't even belong the last two weeks. Yeah. The funniest thing
- 0:27is you had some gems that last week and I and when I posted them
- 0:31in my head when I was posting on my New Year. Is gonna be
- 0:35like mad that it had to be that week that you wasn't at your spot
- 0:40tight. It's all good. That's what we had to do what we gotta
- 0:43do to keep this thing going. Yes, sir man, I want to
- 0:47hit on these news topics pretty quick, man, because I feel like today's
- 0:50gonna be a loaded show man with the I don't know what the title is
- 0:54yet, but I'm pretty sure that the title of the show already has people
- 0:58waiting for this convo. So let me get into it right. Oh wait,
- 1:03it's kind of going off of the Ice Spice news last week. I
- 1:07just thought this was interesting and it kind of brings another conversation that we never
- 1:11even really brought up as far as this person. But I saw in the
- 1:15news that Lotto and Christina Aguilera have been kind of like teasing like a collaboration
- 1:22that they're going to drop because they've started, you know, uh, exchanging,
- 1:26you know, tweets and stuff like that. So you know how it
- 1:30is nowadays, it's all kind of like choreographed, you know that that what's
- 1:34coming next becausout exactly exactly you I couldn't have said it better myself, but
- 1:42uh, you know, Lotto had that real big joint with Maria Carey where
- 1:46she had the sample first and the remix, you know what I mean.
- 1:49She's another one that you know, is on that trajectory like ice Spice,
- 1:53and she's quietly like, you know, maybe even doing crazier stuff than ice
- 1:59spice, because like she got that collaboration with that BTS dude, Like I
- 2:02said, she got the Mari Carrey joint. So you know, she's another
- 2:07one that to kind of keep your eye on. And what do you think
- 2:09about the fact that she might be doing to collab with Christina Aguilera. Well,
- 2:15you know you just said that, and I was like, Okay,
- 2:17I didn't know about this. I kind of just looked it up real quick
- 2:21and they just dropped a commercial or it looks like as in like ten hours
- 2:25ago. So, like you said, Joe, everything's a rollout, so
- 2:30they could be working on something. I mean, I actually I'm literally playing
- 2:34right now. I'm mute because I'm I'm talking to y'all. But you know,
- 2:38this could be what they were hitting at, you know what I'm saying,
- 2:40because it's definitely like music related. It looks like they aim there like
- 2:44a music video, so this could have been what they were hitting at.
- 2:46And I think, Joe, you hit the nail on the head with Everything's
- 2:50a rollout. Yeah. Yeah, I don't think Chrislera still holds that much
- 2:59weight. I mean, she's still seeing that Aguilera. But I said,
- 3:02don't think I think the impactful to today's generation. She does do a lot
- 3:09of network TV stuff though, so she does have a big presence still on
- 3:15the TV side of things. I wonder if they do end up doing like
- 3:19a music thing, I wonder how that'll translate, going off of what you
- 3:22said, Joe, because that does I didn't think about that before that.
- 3:24Although Christina Aguilera is still real big right now, it's really more for like
- 3:30I said, network TV stuff, hosting shows and things like that, So
- 3:34it is it will be interesting to see how that kind of shapes out.
- 3:38But I will say just from go ahead, John, I'm sorry, No,
- 3:40it's still success either way. Yeah, I was just gonna say,
- 3:44I will say from my standpoint, you know, it's kind of hard to
- 3:47know what's when it comes to music side of it, what is actually intentionally
- 3:54supposed to be a big record or what's supposed to be a cloud chasing situation
- 4:00nowadays, you know what I'm saying. So I guess until we see or
- 4:03see how it plays out, I can't. I really don't have an opinion
- 4:06on it because, like you said, Joe, it's Christina Aguilera. She
- 4:10still sings her ass off, But you know, what is it really?
- 4:15Yeah? Yeah, yeah, what is it real? Kind of kind of
- 4:16going off with you said, Quincy, and I didn't really think about it
- 4:19from that aspect. But we're in a big collaborative era, you know what
- 4:24I'm saying, Like that those collaborations are starting to be like what shows like
- 4:30as being successful, Like when you talk about Travis Scott with all the brands
- 4:33that he collaborates with you know, these big artists having these crossover collabs and
- 4:39how much attention those are getting collab albums, which is something that never really
- 4:44happened in hip hop. But then all of a sudden, you know,
- 4:46starting at like twenty sixteen ish, like you just saw a whole bunch of
- 4:49big artists doing collab albums. Like you're like, what the heck, Like
- 4:53a whole bunch of people just out of know where. Hey, I'm doing
- 4:55a collab. You do this guy, future guy one hundred collab albums.
- 4:59You know what I'm saying. It's like Bruno Mars and I started a whole
- 5:02group, whole exactly, a whole collaboration Grammy Award winning thing, you know
- 5:06what I'm saying, Like a residency out here in Vegas. Still, Yeah,
- 5:11it's definitely. It's definitely doing a lot right now as far as like
- 5:15people doing collaborations and for whatever reasons, is holding people's attention. You know,
- 5:21another thing that I had seen in the news that it's just more to
- 5:25touch on it quickly. It is not really like news. But I really
- 5:28enjoyed his response and kind of like the energy behind this. But offset gave
- 5:33an update to you know, his relationship with Quavo. On a breakfast club
- 5:38interview, they asked him about it and everything. You know, everybody's been
- 5:41kind of wondering how they've been ever since the passing the Takeoff Rest in peace.
- 5:45But you know, he just kind of answered it very simply direct quote,
- 5:49that's my brother at the end of the day. And the next thing
- 5:53he said was, but we're good though we were just with each other in
- 5:56Paris, we'd be talking because we'd be going through a little emotions and with
- 6:00this shit, and it don't be for the public. That's the thing.
- 6:02When it's like this, everything ain't for the public to be Key King and
- 6:05everybody want us to be. But we still got to move in our own
- 6:09worlds. But it's all love. At the end of the day, we
- 6:12lost a brother. We can't rock out basically talking about as far as Migos
- 6:18as far you know, from his point of view, it's dead because the
- 6:23Takeoff was the life force behind Egos, you know. But aside from the
- 6:27music side all that, I really enjoy the fact that he basically said,
- 6:30you know, we've mended our situation where we're dealing. You know, we're
- 6:34even helping each other through the trauma and everything. But it don't got to
- 6:39be out there. They don't got to be crying on a you know,
- 6:42on an interview with a big personality, or you know, be on sixty
- 6:46minutes talking about how they feel and stuff. I really enjoy the idea that
- 6:49even though they're both superstars, they can both easily capitalize on their grieving process
- 6:55and make millions, like literally millions, I'm not exaggerating. You know,
- 6:59there's a lot of avenues they can go with this, whether it be a
- 7:01joint album, whether it be a speaking tour, whether it be a book,
- 7:05whether it be interviews. They literally could capitalize off this anyway they want
- 7:10to, and they still might, who knows, but at least for now
- 7:15they're looking at it like, hey, this is a real situation. We're
- 7:16gonna deal with it together as family, as men, as people, and
- 7:20then you know, see where it goes from there. I respect that.
- 7:26I definitely respect. And it's so funny you mentioned that because I literally was
- 7:30kind of like saying something earlier in regards to I'm sure y'all have seen it,
- 7:35because like, every time I open my phone, I see the Jada
- 7:39Pinkett situation and her announcing that her and Will have been separated for seven years?
- 7:45Why announce it now? Who knows? I don't understand, you know
- 7:47what I'm saying makes no sense to me. And then also the part about
- 7:53her and Chris Rock and apparently Chris Rock had expressed interest in her, and
- 7:57I'm just it's just like it almost seems like every opportunity, you know what
- 8:00I'm saying, she takes to like share an aspect of the relationship that's like
- 8:05unnecessary, you know what I'm saying, And it's like going to your point.
- 8:07I respect, you know what I'm saying, him saying, like,
- 8:11hey, not everything is for the public, you know what I mean.
- 8:13Yeah, It's funny, man, because from when they started that show that
- 8:18they did Jada Pinkett and her mom and stuff, you already knew what was
- 8:24coming. Bro. If you're gonna just be airing out all your deepest feelings
- 8:26every week, like regardless, bruh, everybody's human. None of US's situation
- 8:33looks any better than Jada and Wills. Like you know what I'm saying.
- 8:35We can all pretend like it, but everybody has their things too, you
- 8:37know what I'm saying, but the difference is everybody ain't putting it out there,
- 8:41and it kind of just goes to that idea where it's like from one
- 8:46angle, you're trying to, you know, ask for people not to be
- 8:50in your stuff, but then you're volunteering this information. You're on a show
- 8:54where you're just talking about all behind the scenes stuff all the time. You
- 8:58know, once you now you can't just stop and choose. Okay, and
- 9:01I'm gonna stop here, like, nah, bro, you already open the
- 9:03flood again. Yah. Yeah. Most people see that you're that vulnerable and
- 9:09that open, they're gonna treat you just like that. They're invested at that
- 9:13point, you know what I'm saying. They're trying to get the return on
- 9:16the investment. They want the story the right thing pieces all right, And
- 9:22the last little piece of news I got, which leads perfectly into today's conversation,
- 9:30Drake seemingly ends Grammy boycott as her loss submitted for consideration. I found
- 9:37this news very funny, hilarious with how many stands Drake has taken against the
- 9:43Grammys and speeches and posts and things that he said, just talking about not
- 9:48looking for validation and he's not gonna whatever. Now he submitted his album with
- 9:56twenty one Savage for Grammy consideration, y'all think of that they might be doing
- 10:03the betwenty one or using that. Yeah. I mean, as much as
- 10:13I feel like everyone, not everyone, most people respect Drake as an artist,
- 10:16I feel like everybody can commonly and easily agree that that Drake doesn't really
- 10:24have a strong stance. You know what I'm saying. He kind of goes
- 10:30with the flow of what's current. He goes with the flow of with what's
- 10:33gonna work. You know what I'm saying. We can all easily say that,
- 10:37you know what I'm saying, whether you agree or don't agree, It's
- 10:39like the evidence is there, so you know, to carry that from a
- 10:43music standpoint into what he stands on, I mean, I'm not very surprised.
- 10:50Let's just say that. Yeah, definitely, Drake. Drake is a
- 10:54guy that for me, as far as a music fan, I've been almost
- 11:00always enjoy all of his singing, like pretty much if he's dropping some singing
- 11:05joints, his ear and taste for R and B and his execution of R
- 11:13and B music. I love the way Drake does R and b A lot
- 11:18of people are the opposite. They don't like when Drake sings. They don't
- 11:20like the singiness of Drake. I'm the complete like that. Like we talked
- 11:24about before, Bro, that honestly never Mind album. That's like the only
- 11:28Drake album that I rock with, and you know it's because he's singing on
- 11:33it. And Drake Drake has always been a funny character to me because he's
- 11:43you know, he's a character, you know. Like For me, hip
- 11:46hop is a thing where I enjoy more the raw, authenticness of it.
- 11:50I like hearing a person's story through their eyes, you know what I'm saying.
- 11:54I don't like hearing a caricature. I don't like gangster music just for
- 12:01the sake of it being gangster. I like gangster music when you can tell
- 12:05this guy I've been through some stuff and he's coming out of the trenches transitioning
- 12:09into this rap thing, trying to do something better, you know what I'm
- 12:11saying. Like that's the energy I like behind hip hop. This I'm rapping
- 12:18good because I can rap good thing. It's never worked for me as a
- 12:22listener. If I just hear you rapping and I can just tell all you're
- 12:26doing is just rapping. No connection for me, That's just how I am
- 12:31a rap. Now that leads into for all the Dogs Race new album,
- 12:39it's been getting destroyed on all the blogs and interviews and all that stuff.
- 12:45Myself, I don't feed into any of that. I'll just listen to the
- 12:50music and see what it is and listen to it for what it is and
- 12:54that but for the sake of this conversation. I don't know why I had
- 12:58this idea, but I told myself, you know what, I'm not even
- 13:01gonna listen to anything on this album at all. My original intention was to
- 13:07listen to the j Cole and Drake's song to just go off of that into
- 13:11our next topic, which we'll introduce later. But I thought about it after
- 13:16I'm like, you know what, I'm not gonna listen to none of it
- 13:18at all. I'm gonna hear what you guys have to say about it.
- 13:22I'm gonna internalize this conversation and then go listen to it and then give my
- 13:26thoughts on it, because originally I wouldn't even check it out period to you
- 13:33know, one hundred percent. If I if I'm already hearing the vibe of
- 13:39the album, and I already don't like Drake. It's not even gonna be
- 13:43a listen for me. But I'm gonna listen to what we talk about,
- 13:46and I'm gonna attack the album from like a more like like a research scientific
- 13:52mind to see if you know it hits a little different because the song is
- 13:58sounding like pretty much how I felt about Drake the whole time, and I
- 14:03mean not to song the album, because a lot of the reviews basically are
- 14:07mentioning that he's just going to these young type topics, trending kind of topics,
- 14:15immature type topics, and people are kind of looking at it from the
- 14:18point of view of like, Bro, you're Drake. You don't have to
- 14:20keep up. You don't have to do this petty little dissing girls thing like
- 14:26what are we what are we doing? Bro? But the funny thing to
- 14:28me is that's been Drake from day one. I don't know why people are
- 14:33confused or upset or what they were expecting. He called the joint for all
- 14:37the dogs. He keeps talking about how people want the old Drake. This
- 14:41is Drake, this is what this is. This is the Drake that y'all
- 14:45came to know and love. What's the problem now, what do you want?
- 14:54You go ahead, Joe, go ahead. No, I think it's
- 14:58a different Drake, but it is the same veg. As far as he's
- 15:00petty, he's always been paid. I mean, the ship down to what's
- 15:05going on with Joe Budden shows how petty he is and how hurt he is,
- 15:09and he can't control he can't control his emotions or the narrative. This
- 15:15one, the narrative has gotten away from him, and he's very good at
- 15:18controlling the narrative. Yeah, I liked her lost, I wasn't a crazy
- 15:24fan of it. I don't think I ever went back. I couldn't tell
- 15:26you what the second half of the album has. Just for the clarification of
- 15:31the people listening. You are a big Drake fan, like overall, he's
- 15:33Drake fan. Yeah, he's probably either my one or two artist, number
- 15:37one and number two for me. I listened to the first half of this
- 15:43album not to Slam You out number nine on Friday when it came out on
- 15:46the way home from my workout, and then I never went back to it
- 15:52again until yesterday. And yesterday I was playing a little Hogwarts Legacy and I
- 15:54was like, let me just ride through this whole thing, and I see
- 15:58what everybody's saying, you know, for all the dogs. It's crazy.
- 16:02When I think about it now, it might just be be like there's so
- 16:03many different type of dogs and he has so many different types. Like it
- 16:07started off great. I think Virginia Beach was a slapper. I think naming
- 16:12it Virginia Beach without talking about pushing T it's like talking about push you T
- 16:17without talking about pushy T. You know what I mean. You just named
- 16:19the track Virginia Beach again saying thing about him. So for you, Virginia
- 16:22Beaches is definitely listen. I think that's number one. I think that's a
- 16:26great way to start out this album. I agree, says you guys speak
- 16:30on this. Yeah, Virginia Beach is the first song. I think it's
- 16:33a great way to start out this album. U then, just just going
- 16:37through it, it was all right. You get to like four through six,
- 16:41Fear of heightht Daylight, and First Person Shooter, and that's the call.
- 16:45So he puts Coal as a six tracks. You think about it like
- 16:47a bat in order. So Cole's there for cleanup, cleanup, you know
- 16:52what, I'm saying the startup the start of the next line up, like
- 16:55setting it off. So I get with that's there, and then I wasn't
- 16:59really finish start little go down from there. Then he had that Eat song
- 17:02that everybody keeps making the meme about that. He was over excited that he
- 17:06had a rap Eats part. And then you go down, and honestly,
- 17:10I can't party. I know the Party next Door song was really good because
- 17:15it's a party next Door song featuring Drake. I can't remember the other ones.
- 17:22Charlotte was the one that he dropped first. I liked the timestamp ones.
- 17:26Then name of Dallas four pm m Calabasas one pm in Toronto or whatever.
- 17:32Like those time staff raps are his good reps. I just think it
- 17:37is. The Bad Bunny song was a bad Bunny song featuring Drake, and
- 17:45the rest of them they don't stand out. But so that's your stuff.
- 17:48One complete, one and a half complete listens, and I said I couldn't
- 17:53get through it the first time, and now I think I can keep getting
- 17:56through it. I'm gonna keep giving a few more listens, but I don't
- 18:00love the songs. I'm pretty sure he's not making those songs for a fan
- 18:06like me, and I think with honesty never mind, and then all of
- 18:11shit he does collapse. I think he is an artist who thinks he can
- 18:17do any generations type of music or any So do you think it could have
- 18:22been so as people may know or if you don't know, he's planning on
- 18:27taking a big break from music, you know, just to deal on some
- 18:30health issues. Hope, hope that's you know what I'm saying. Hope he
- 18:33resolves. Yeah, I wonder what that was he said some us. He
- 18:37actually said in an interview that it was some stomach issues he's having, Like
- 18:41he wasn't specific about what kind of stomach issues, but it was stomach issues.
- 18:47So you know, obviously hopefully he gets better from that. I don't
- 18:49wish that on nobody, but I listening to what you're saying kind of reaffirms
- 18:56what I kind of thought about the album as far as like the in the
- 19:00rollout, as far as how he promoted it. It kind of seems like
- 19:03he just knew he was gonna take this break, and he thought to himself,
- 19:07let me secure myself another number one before I go off hiatus. You
- 19:10know what I'm saying he knows the formula, he knows how to get people
- 19:12to talk about the music. So I feel like he just followed the formula
- 19:15and not necessarily trying to make a good album, you know what I mean?
- 19:21I mean? And to me, I think that's why it's getting disappointing,
- 19:25you know what I'm saying, Because it's like, like you said in
- 19:26the beginning, Bro, you're Drake, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 19:30you can make a great album, Bro, I mean Yo. I was
- 19:34basically going home from dinner the other night with my fiance and we was having
- 19:38this exact conversation that we're having right now, and we were just talking and
- 19:44we basically went back to like some albums that we really enjoyed from Drake.
- 19:48And I'm gonna ask you this question, Joe, because I know you're a
- 19:49Drake fan, just to this is just a comparison. Can you name Kanye
- 19:56West's album in chronological order? Yeah? Okay? Are you able to name
- 20:04Drake's album in chronological order? Name Drake's album chronological order? From so Far
- 20:11Gone? That's good? Yeah, so Far Gone, So Far Gone?
- 20:15Thank me later, take care? Nothing was the same? Views more life
- 20:25than Scorpion, but then Scorpions More Life No, no, no, then
- 20:30you had if you're reading this, it's too late with future. And then
- 20:34after that they came yeah uh, and then it was it doesn't come as
- 20:42quick to you as well. No, And I'm making a point certified lover
- 20:48boy and her loss no honestly, never minding her loss. And then for
- 20:52all dogs, all right, so you skip so so and this isn't you
- 20:57know? I did the same thing to robbing and the same thing happened,
- 21:00and I'm making a point. So you skipped, I can't. You went
- 21:04back and forth a little bit. But it's not an album. Okay,
- 21:08that's fine, but the Dark Lane demo tapes is a project. Yeah,
- 21:15okay. I don't know if you said Scary Hours too. I don't want
- 21:18to be hearing that. I think you said something else out of order.
- 21:22But my point being is that from basically More Life till now it becomes a
- 21:30blur. You get what I'm saying, and yeah, I think about it
- 21:34more there you get what I'm saying. So and the reason and so how
- 21:37is it that these are the more recent projects yet though, that's where everything
- 21:42starts to blur, and this is why. It's because you're not taking the
- 21:47time to put projects together that are memorable. You're just putting stuff together.
- 21:52Like before we go too far left with that, let's hear how you thought
- 21:56about what you thought about the album, the one from right now? So
- 21:59there, it was eight songs on the album out of twenty two that I
- 22:02that I saved, and I'm not saying I would actually go back and listen
- 22:06to them frequently, but they're saved that I'll put them in rotation. Yeah,
- 22:11they'll shuffle eight of the twenty two. And what were the tracks?
- 22:15Was there particular reason why those tracks? Like all right, so Virginia Beach
- 22:19was dope? Were they not features like Virginia Beaches Dope? No? No
- 22:23features Daylight. I really enjoyed that first person shooter feature with j Cole,
- 22:30Slim you Out feature with Sizza Bahama's promises. I like tried our best,
- 22:33I like what will Pluto do? I like eight Am and Charlotte That's it.
- 22:38The rest of them were either like I'll probably never go back to them
- 22:44or they just weren't it for me. And to be honest with you,
- 22:47even the party next Door joint, that one just sounded like a party next
- 22:52door joint. So for me, it wasn't like I would listen to a
- 22:55Drake song, you know what I'm saying, Like, so I didn't count
- 22:57that one. I've been hearing a lot about that. What would Pluto do?
- 23:02A lot of people are saying, like, that's the dope joint.
- 23:03I like that one. I like that one a lot. But so those
- 23:07are the eight that I like out of the twenty two on the album.
- 23:11And I feel like a lot of the ones that I didn't like it was
- 23:15because you were trying to do something to keep up when it's like dog.
- 23:21The ones that I enjoyed were the ones that sound like you be you you
- 23:25know, yeah, they type of fans we are it could be. I
- 23:32mean, the younger audience probably truly enjoys it, and that's why Drake is
- 23:34so successful. You know what I'm saying. I'm not saying, but there
- 23:38is a give and take because if you think about it, we're older fans
- 23:41of Drake, and the older fans are the ones that's saying, like,
- 23:44Yo, what are you doing? This is my thoughts on it, bro
- 23:47Like, because it kind of goes into what y'all both talking about me.
- 23:51Although I'm not a Drake fan, I have respect for him as far as
- 23:56the level of artist that he is, and I would expect more from him,
- 24:00you feel what I'm saying, Like artists, artists do take that lane,
- 24:03like and big artists that we like, you know, they're always trying
- 24:07to find a way to sound you know, current still be in the times
- 24:11and stuff. But I feel like somebody like Drake can, like should be
- 24:14able to figure out a way to still be Drake and maybe just bring people
- 24:18bring that currentness more to his world, you know what I mean. That's
- 24:22the kind of thing I expect from an artist like Drake. I don't expect
- 24:25him to be, you know, with the trendy type lyrics and like,
- 24:29you know, like Drake has gotten into this thing lately where he went from
- 24:33being the guy that created the quotes to being the guy that uses the social
- 24:38media quotes and his music, you know what I'm saying, Like he flipped
- 24:42it. Like he even like that one song like I've been losing friends and
- 24:47finding peace, Like, Bro, that's a meme, bro, you know
- 24:48what I'm saying. Like, you like, he's been doing that a lot
- 24:52in the recent music where it's like, bro, Like it almost feels like
- 24:57you're trying to insult me, you know what I'm saying, Like with this
- 25:02like formulate, you know, just blatant, Like, Bro, I see
- 25:06what you're doing. It don't work, you know what I'm saying, Like
- 25:10it's I expect more from Drake definitely. Yeah. And again I'm speaking as
- 25:15somebody that didn't listen to this project yet, so I'm not talking about this
- 25:18project in particular, but I'm just talking about from what i've heard here now
- 25:23because I always listen to it, you know what I'm saying. It's not
- 25:26that I don't like Drake and I'm like, every time he drops, I'm
- 25:29like, I'm f this, you know what I'm saying. I always listen
- 25:32to it. It might not be right away, but I'll get to a
- 25:34point where I'll check it out and be like, all right, what's this
- 25:37talking about? And I'll pull a couple of songs, and it's always the
- 25:41singing joints, you know what I'm saying. Yeah, I agree, that's
- 25:47the barbershop Today they've been playing that album for the whole week, and I
- 25:52was like, it's just when you set expectations for one of your favorite artists
- 25:55and you don't it don't even come close to that. You just go for
- 26:00some type of way. Yeah, that's what it is. Man. It's
- 26:03like, like I said, and you kind of said the same thing,
- 26:07Like we have a respect for Drake as an artist, you know what I'm
- 26:10saying, you as a fan, me as just knowing that he's a great
- 26:14artist. You know, you can't take that away from him, regardless of
- 26:17you know, some of the music that he drops. But at the end
- 26:18of the day, you know, you should hold yourself on a level where
- 26:22you hear a body of work that has these kind of themes and the things
- 26:27he's talking about, things he's It's like, Bro, you're a grown man
- 26:32now, man, Like you know what I'm saying, Like you you a
- 26:33grown father with stupid issues. You know what I'm saying. Issues? Fact,
- 26:38Come on, bro, like you over here talking about the stuff you're
- 26:41talking about, like you know that's what but told them. And that's when
- 26:45people is like when people compare him to jay Z and they're doing the jay
- 26:52Z thing, Like, bro, Like when z jay Z's another one of
- 26:53those legzy artists and they're expecting out of Drake, what they expect out of
- 26:57jay Z. But what does jay Z do? He does him, you
- 27:02know, and it works every time because he ain't playing the game. He
- 27:06is the game, right, you know what I'm saying. And Drake.
- 27:08I feel like Drake should have more of that, and I'm like, Yo,
- 27:11this is my I hold this game in my hands. Bro. Like
- 27:14the honesty, never Mind, Bro, I love that album and I just
- 27:18love that he did that. You know, he knew people wanted this album,
- 27:22you know what I'm saying, But he said, you know what,
- 27:26this the vibe I'm on, I'm doing this. It was way different.
- 27:29He was experimenting on it, and it was dope. You know what I'm
- 27:32saying. It always comes out better when you actually you know, you're actually
- 27:36going in there trying to do something dope. And I can almost guarantee you
- 27:38that the mindset behind these two albums was completely different, honestly, never Mind
- 27:41and the new one that just dropped, guarantee you he wasn't thinking the same.
- 27:45I think when you get to a certain point where, especially as I
- 27:51guess you could say a rapper music like rap as a music form is like
- 27:56one of the only forms of music where you know, it's just very telling
- 28:03of the person, right, you know what I'm saying. Obviously, any
- 28:04genre, R and B, country, whatever, you know, you can
- 28:08tell a lot about the person, but rap you can tell way more,
- 28:14you know. And I feel like when you look at people like jay Z,
- 28:17nas j Cole, Kendrick, as they grow as people, you hear
- 28:22them grow as artists, and they don't typically even when J Cole goes on
- 28:29these new rappers joints or new artists songs, it's still J Cole being J
- 28:36Cole. And I think, and this is the point I wanted to make,
- 28:37and I completely forgotten. I'm glad I just said that was that I
- 28:40saw a comment that basically said and this was where I was like, that
- 28:44is a great point. When jay Z came out, or when Ja Cole
- 28:48came out and he was a new artist and jay Z put him on a
- 28:51star is Born. Yeah, jay Z made j Cole step up to his
- 28:56level. Lot of times, Drake is stepping down to these other artists level
- 29:03when it's like, no, make them do better, you know what I'm
- 29:06saying, You're Drake, make them come to your level. And I think
- 29:10that's where it's twisted. That's a great way to put it, and that
- 29:15I love that thought, and I love that whole point. It's exactly that
- 29:18you're that's the esteem we hold Drake to, you know what I'm saying,
- 29:22And I feel like he shouldn't be emotional about it, and you know,
- 29:26lashing out at Joe Budden and now he looks silly because the footing is stepping
- 29:30out of him standing Joe Budden in front of Joe Budden. You know what
- 29:33I'm saying, Like he was adamant about Hey, I want to stand you
- 29:37for a minute. You know what I'm saying, Like, which is cool.
- 29:41I'm not shaming that if you if I meet nas Bro, I'm gonna
- 29:45let him know how much he affected me. Dog, you know what I'm
- 29:47saying, Like, why would I not you know, let somebody know,
- 29:51Like, Bro, your art touched me in such a way that it influenced
- 29:55my life. Like Bro, That's that's what every artist aspires to do.
- 29:59I'm saying. And I definitely agree with Joe. You were saying that Joe
- 30:04Budden was saying kind of the same thing, like about him being older and
- 30:07like, you know, getting into that vibe and Bro, that leads leads
- 30:14me into my next point. Dog J Cole is the greatest rapper right now.
- 30:18Like it's hands down, there's no question, like anybody that even tries
- 30:21to give me the Drake thing bro Like at this point, Yeah, this
- 30:26album, especially after the collapse, I haven't even heard it yet, and
- 30:30even people that's Drake fans were saying, Bro, he got destroyed. You
- 30:34know what I'm saying, I'm excited, Yo. You don't understand how heart
- 30:37has been for me not to listen to that because you're telling me Jake Hole's
- 30:42killing Drake on the song and I've been on the J Cole side for the
- 30:47whole time. You know what I'm saying, Like, I'm this is the
- 30:49same way I felt when Nas killed jay Z Dog. I felt vindicated then
- 30:53I feel vindicated now you feel me. But the funny thing is, man
- 30:57like, I was out of J Cole fan until about twenty twelve thirteen.
- 31:03Around there. I didn't like the music he dropped in the beginning. It
- 31:07didn't resonate with me. It wasn't the vibe that I messed with. But
- 31:12he hit a stride bro that it was just it was undeniable and everything that
- 31:17he's done since has been undeniable. Bro, Like J Cole got a catalog
- 31:21to me, Like, nah, he's this catalog. Like I'll go back
- 31:22and listen to J Coles whatever album and feel the vibe and catch stiff stuff
- 31:27later that at then, like it's the same kind of feeling, Like,
- 31:32Bro, J Cole's a dude that I got like homies that they got little
- 31:36brothers and stuff, and like they talk to me about Jay CON's like,
- 31:40Bro J Cole's wive. J Cole barn It's like, Bro, you ain't
- 31:42been through enough life to feel this dog, because yeah, this dude is
- 31:45saying some stuff like he is. This guy is almost like and he's doing
- 31:51it in an appealing way. Bro, And yo, kudos to him because
- 31:55J Cole definitely unlocked how to be a rapper now, Like you know what
- 32:00I'm saying, because like there's other people that could spit, there's other people
- 32:04that do X Y and Z, but Ja Cole got it all, bro,
- 32:07Like Ja Cole is the goat right now. To make another point to
- 32:10what I just said previously, J Cole going, you know, following up
- 32:15with what you just said. J Cole has a song with Lil Yachty and
- 32:20I've never heard Lil YACHTI sounds like such a great rapper, but Ja Cole
- 32:25got on it and Li YACHTI stepped it up, you know what I'm saying.
- 32:30And that is my main point with Drake. When I saw somebody say
- 32:35that, I was like, that's it right there. You are Drake.
- 32:37You don't have to step down, make them step up, you know.
- 32:43That's that's where he's that's where he's falling on these albums. And it's funny
- 32:46as hell because I'm not a Drake fan. You're a little bit of a
- 32:51Drake fan. Quincy and Joe is a big Drake fan, and we're all
- 32:54pretty much saying the same thing, but just in different words. You know
- 32:58what I'm saying. It's like, he's a great artist. He needs to
- 33:00do better, bro, That's that's it at the end of the day.
- 33:05Well, no, I mean, I'm not I'm not going to say expects
- 33:07for him. I don't care if he does better or not. I'll still
- 33:10go back and listen to his own ship, just like Kanye. I'm not
- 33:13expecting Kanye to have research. Yeah, yeah, I don't care if he
- 33:16does better. At this point, I feel you and I feel the same
- 33:22way up to a certain extent. It's like I'm not expecting you to,
- 33:27you know, shadow the world every time you drop music, because now I
- 33:30don't do that either, But I want to hear that you're you know what
- 33:34I'm saying, Like I want to hear the music is music, if that
- 33:38makes any sense, you know what I mean? Like it might miss the
- 33:40mark, but it's not that you play the safe. It's not that you
- 33:44were trying to catch a wave, you know what I'm saying, Like it
- 33:46just missed the mark because you tried something and it didn't work. That to
- 33:51me is cool. But when it's like, nah, you you're trying something
- 33:53that's not your best work, you know what I mean? Like that's the
- 33:57thing that I don't like because it's kind of like I said, with the
- 34:00honesty, never mind, Like let's say I was a Drake fan but I
- 34:02didn't like the album. I would have thought about it like damgn bro,
- 34:07it's dope though that at this point he's trying to do a completely different genre
- 34:09and vibe, you know what I mean? Yeah, he did get at
- 34:14it too. I really liked the album. Fact, that's probably my most
- 34:16favorite of the last five ye and it's like I said, bro, it's
- 34:20funny because Drake was the reverse of Jake Cole for me. That was another
- 34:23thing I want to talk about because like so far gone the mix stay before
- 34:28so far Gone, I've come back season called comeback Season, and there was
- 34:30one more it was called like Celebration or Congratulations, but there was like he
- 34:37had like five heartbreak Drakes to mix, but there was one in particular that
- 34:40before comeback Season there was room for improvement? Yeah, is there one?
- 34:45And then there thank but thank Me later was an album right that I very
- 34:51for that. That was his debut album. Yeah, I know, room
- 34:54for improvement. Then comeback season is so far gone. Maybe I'm just thinking
- 35:00about the Congratulations song that he did. Yeah it was like a cold Play
- 35:05sample or something like that. But anyway, the point I'm trying to make
- 35:07specifically about that is like when I first got put on to Drake, I
- 35:12was like, I felt like the way I feel about j Cole now,
- 35:15where I'm like, oh man, this dude is rapping and putting these songs
- 35:17together in a way that's still rapping, but it's new. It's fresh,
- 35:22Like when I heard successful it was like dang, like and I remember when
- 35:27Successful drop, people didn't know it was Trey Songs on the hook. They
- 35:30thought it was on the hook because he was singing on other songs. So
- 35:32that kind of like it was funny because that kind of he had that kind
- 35:37of in his back pocket for a little while where a lot of people thought
- 35:38he was singing on Successful too, until the they did like the mainstream release
- 35:43and he said featuring Trey songs like a lot of people didn't even know until
- 35:46then turned the bodum up after that one. Yeah, facts And but yeah,
- 35:52when when Drake was first coming on the scene, a Yo, the
- 35:55joints was dope, you know what I'm saying. And I was really like
- 35:59excited about the new sound that he was bringing. But he just kind of
- 36:01settled into that, you know, that industry thing, and that's that's where
- 36:06he lost me. Yeah, it's not the black bearry with the Squirrel Drake
- 36:10anymore. Yeah, man, definitely not. Yeah. I used to like
- 36:15his raps because it was like it was authentic, you know what I'm saying.
- 36:19He was talking like the way he was paying the picture of like the
- 36:22stuff he was going through in Toronto, at the time and like dealing with
- 36:24the like the fading fame from the from the acting thing transitioning into the music
- 36:30like bro Like, it was very very personal in the music and you really
- 36:35like I felt like I got a good sense of who Drake was, who
- 36:37that, and then it just switched so bad, bro like and it was
- 36:42like I was like, nah, bro, that ain't my vibe. It's
- 36:45like I don't know, man, I don't know. You go back and
- 36:49you like. That's what we did that night. We went back and we
- 36:52listened to So Far Gone. We was listening to Thank Me later, and
- 36:58then we went on to listen to take Care and nothing was the same.
- 37:00He kind of went down all of them, and I was just like,
- 37:02Yo, this is the Drake that like when he was making albums, Bro,
- 37:07he was making albums, you know what I'm saying. Like, I
- 37:10know he had like at least fifteen to twenty probably more throwaway joints that just
- 37:15didn't make the album. But I feel like now everything makes the album,
- 37:19Like you know what I'm saying, That's how it comes across. No,
- 37:25there's nothing like like that So Far Gone raps man, And even thinking later,
- 37:30I think all the way up to views for me. I think up
- 37:31to views for me was when I literally enjoyed what he was saying more than
- 37:37anything. The album that I enjoyed the most and the only one that I
- 37:43enjoyed, to be honest, was Nothing was the Same. That's my favorite
- 37:49one too. It's a great album, the first round. I love furthest
- 37:52thing, I love Love Love further Stting. That's a great song. Yeah
- 37:57it is. But yeah, man, the Drake thing is funny man,
- 38:00because it's like it's always a funny topic for me, because it's not that
- 38:06I don't like him, because I respect his ability. I like how he
- 38:08approaches making music. I like how he raps, I like how he sings.
- 38:13Like on paper, I should be a Drake fan, you feel me,
- 38:16but I'm not. It's just something there's just not connected with me.
- 38:21And like I said, with j Cole, it never it didn't connect with
- 38:23me at first. When people were talking to me about j Cole, I
- 38:25was like, bro, get this nerdy crap away from me. Bro,
- 38:29Like it was like thirty to me, you know what I'm saying. When
- 38:30I first heard of Jake Cole, But like, as I just kept hearing
- 38:35it, and here, and I was like, nah, Bro, this
- 38:37dude on or something. Man, He's just he's been just banging out classics,
- 38:39Bro classics Like no, no, no, I was gonna say.
- 38:45It's like, especially as of recently, Man, this feature run he's been
- 38:49on. It seems like everything he touches turned the gold bro everything and real
- 38:53quick, just because I always love this detail. Like he even makes his
- 38:57singles impactful and memorable. Like the other day, I was because I always
- 39:00listened to Lion King on Ice. Right, that's a song I really love
- 39:05from him. It's a slider bro dog. He names the song Lion King
- 39:08on Ice. Obviously the song drops. You see the artwork, you see
- 39:13like lion King on Ice, the song stars. He listening to it.
- 39:17Oh, my god, young symbol with the bus down. Yeah, lion
- 39:22King on Ice. When I heard that line in the song and at the
- 39:28time that it came in the song, and when it just connected like this
- 39:31is why this song is called Lion King on Ice, just understood the metaphor.
- 39:36I'm like, Bro, this guy is a goat. It's beginning,
- 39:40Bro, young symbol, young symbol with the bust down, Lion King on
- 39:46Ice. My god, Bro, I was like, dog, this dude,
- 39:51he's on gold status. I heard that song he drops with like three
- 39:57other songs. It was between yeah, yeah, yeah. It was like
- 40:01leading up to Ko D. It was like he slid it in there with
- 40:05another single, Like you said, I forgot what the other ones called,
- 40:08but he dropped two singles together and then he dropped the album that Lion King
- 40:14on Ice boy, y'all, if y'all heard Lion King on Ice, check
- 40:17it out that that song is a banger, banger banger. But yeah,
- 40:25J cole Man, J Cole is that guy. If you don't like J
- 40:30cole Man, I don't know what to tell you must not like rap,
- 40:31Like that's just how I feel bro Like, I feel like he's There's just
- 40:36no way you cannot appreciate J Cole's music, Like, even if it's not
- 40:39your type of music, if you know anything about music and you give that,
- 40:44you know, give something to his a listen, You're gonna respect the
- 40:47artistry no matter what. Yeah, heavy for sure. I can't say the
- 40:52same for Drake. When you hear just as trendy vibe, you get what
- 40:54I'm saying. That's another thing too, like you get two people that don't
- 40:59really listen to me music you Jake Colton got this music like that that that's
- 41:06out that it's throwaway or non int you know, with no intention, you
- 41:12know what I'm saying, Like h J. Coles, like everything has a
- 41:15purpose exactly, Like you can't you can't pull something out of his library that
- 41:19you're like, this is some bs, you know what I mean. The
- 41:22closest thing you're gonna get is his first album. And even on that first
- 41:24album, it's not some stuff that he would be like necessarily a shamed to
- 41:30stand behind because he was still spinning and he was still putting Jake Cole in
- 41:34and he was just trying to grab the listeners, you know what I mean.
- 41:37But it's still some joints on it, you know what I'm saying,
- 41:43Yeah, now go ahead, bro. I was just I'm looking at it
- 41:47as you're talking about, and I'm like, yeah, that's that's I think
- 41:50that's really what it is. It's like the quality of a quantity factor.
- 41:55What you think, Joe, what's your your wrap up with this thing?
- 42:00It is apples apples to oranges to me, like Drake, if Drake wanted
- 42:05to be a call artist an artist, like Cole, he wouldn't be having
- 42:09accolades he has now calls chasing that so Cole continue to be him and just
- 42:15be But he's not. He's not on Drake's level successfully as far as mainstream
- 42:22facts. So they're shooting. They're shooting for two different targets to me,
- 42:24so I can't compare them anymore. When they were younger, I could compare
- 42:30them. I can no longer compare them for sure. If we're looking at
- 42:34raw dog talent. Sticking to where you know your fans love, that's call
- 42:37all the way. He always been that way, and I love call.
- 42:40He's probably I would, I would, I would kick back on it.
- 42:44I don't think he's sticking to what his fans love. I think he's sticking
- 42:45to what he's always strived for, is just to be the greatest rapper.
- 42:50But that's what fans love though, well, that that's where they've loved,
- 42:53you know, That's what Why would they not want him to keep rapping like
- 42:57that? Like he wants to still be the greatest rapper ever, Like Cole
- 43:00is still and this is what Like sometimes I think about it when I hear
- 43:04a cold feature, I'm like, I wonder if they asked him, like
- 43:07can you wrap like this call? Because it's all the coals he's always rapped.
- 43:12It's never is and it's whatever he picked. I feel like it's whatever
- 43:15he picks to put on that beat, which is crazy because it always sounds
- 43:17good and it's always a different call on every feature. But it's one of
- 43:21the coals he's we've already heard him before because it's it's yeah, it's the
- 43:24yeah, and that's what I mean. And he can keep doing that behind
- 43:29it. But when you think of the plateau, he's not touring like that,
- 43:34he's not featuring like that, he's not in the name like that.
- 43:37So I don't I just don't think the Rabbit for the same thing anymore.
- 43:40And that's why. But I do think Cole is definitely the better rapper today
- 43:45for me. That touches on a big theme that we always talk about in
- 43:47the show, Like it goes back to the ice spice thing, goes back
- 43:51to bad Buddy, you know, even Drake, like how we talked about
- 43:54it before. It's you know the ground in this, you know what I
- 43:59mean? Like that's that's the theme here, Like whenever you're going for a
- 44:02certain thing, you got to sacrifice certain things, you know, And that's
- 44:07that's pretty much what you're hearing on Joe. It's like they're they've both removed
- 44:12certain tools from their belt, so when they face off, it's not even
- 44:15the same fight, you know what I'm saying. You know, Drake got
- 44:19a freaking bat, you know, and Cole got a nunchuck, you know
- 44:22what I'm saying. Like they're not even like in the same game. Yeah,
- 44:30at the end of the day, Like I think, and we talk
- 44:32about it so much music today versus music how it was, And I get
- 44:37the anticipation to stay up one night for that for an album released, like
- 44:42I used to, like I see like my Facebook posts for when Watch the
- 44:47Throne was dropping, and like I stayed up like till three four in the
- 44:52morning, one trying to download it on bootleg and two for it to drop,
- 44:57just to hear it. And I haven't felt that a way in a
- 45:00long time now. For Drake, Everybody's like, whos gonna stay up tonight
- 45:04for bad Buddy, I was like, I'm here that shit in the morning,
- 45:06bro, And I think, and I still have my passion for music.
- 45:10I'm still I don't think today's music industry makes me anticipate, makes me
- 45:16expect. I feel like I lost that right now from the industry today.
- 45:22Definitely agree. Yeah, man, that's a perfect segue. Man, we're
- 45:27back to the Billboard Top ten game. You heard me. That's a new
- 45:37theme song, right, So, as always, we're gonna have y'all both
- 45:44guests a year, and whoever gets closer to the year will start the game.
- 45:50So go ahead, where wants to throw it out? We said two
- 45:54thousand and seven. You hear me two thousand and two? Oh wait,
- 46:04I didn't hear you say two thousand and two, but yeah, so and
- 46:07two. Joe will be going first. He's closer. It is two thousand
- 46:12and eleven. I brought it a little closer, all right, So here
- 46:17we go. First question is up, Now are you ready? I guess
- 46:23it's This hint is a short one, so you just got to catch it.
- 46:30A fast flow, a goat flow, a dance flow. These three
- 46:35artists unexpectedly drop this hip hop R and B banger. I'm just gonna give
- 46:39you the main artist as far as the multiple choice. Okay, so once
- 46:45you guess the main artist, you can guess the name of the song.
- 46:47But then you have to give me the who's on the song too? You
- 46:50know what I'm saying? All right, So I'm going to give you the
- 46:53hint again, and then I'm going to give you the artists a fast flow,
- 46:58a goat flow, a dance flow. These three artists unexpectedly drop this
- 47:05hip hop R and B banger. And by the way, this is April
- 47:07of twenty eleven. So the options are neo, Chris Brown and Mario.
- 47:30Ah yeah, I'm gonna go neo incorrect Quincy Brown Brown? All right?
- 47:40What and who's on the song? Chris Brown buster rhymes, Lil Wayne look
- 47:46at me man, Yes, sir, it is now twenty eleven. That's
- 47:53crazy. I thought it was earlier. I ain't gonna lie that. That's
- 47:55crazy crazy right, all right, So Joe had the first question, So
- 48:01you get the next one, Quincy. This, this explicit anthem was instantly
- 48:09a hit, and this rapper turned singer continued his crossover success. The hints
- 48:16are emon see Lo Green, Kanye West Green correct, and what is the
- 48:27song? Fuck you? Correct the move? Appreciate your language, home boy?
- 48:36Alright, now we got you, Joe. Last question. As one
- 48:43pop star rides into the sunset. Another rises with these ladies taking over the
- 48:49charts with an R and B pop crossover. And again, like the first
- 48:52one, I'm gonna give you the main artist and then you're tell me who
- 48:54else is on it. So, as one pop star rides into the on
- 49:00set, another rises with these ladies taking over the charts with an R and
- 49:05B pop crossover. The options are Rihanna, Beyonce, Mary J Bliche.
- 49:15As one pop star rides into the sunset, another rises with these two ladies
- 49:22taking over the charts with this R and B pop crossover. Rihanna, Beyonce,
- 49:29Mary Man. This week was This week was a tough one as far
- 49:42as like the chart I'm gonna go Rihanna, Rihanna is correct, So now
- 49:47you gotta give me the artist and the song. I'm gonna give you the
- 49:51clue again, so it's her collaborating with somebody. As one pop star ris
- 49:55into the sunset, another rises with these ladies taking over the charge with an
- 50:00R and B pop crossover. Who does she collab with? That's a tough
- 50:08one, right, oh man? Who does she collabor with? Think Rihanna
- 50:15collad twenty eleven ship? Nah, I don't got the Chief. You want
- 50:24to take a stab adequency? Hey yo, Hey you Rihanna in twenty eleven,
- 50:36collide with a pop man, I feel like I don't know if I
- 50:45just don't know the name of the song. Do you know the artist?
- 50:52No? Check this out when I tell you, this person is so far
- 50:58removed from being the person on this chart that that's probably why y'all never even
- 51:01it never even reached your mind. It was Oh, Britney Spears, the
- 51:07song I knew, but I didn't remember who it was. I feel like
- 51:14we don't. You don't remember who it was because it's like a completely different
- 51:17person, Like that's not that long ago that she was still like making music
- 51:21and on the charts. She had a Vegas residency a few years ago after
- 51:25that. Yeah, crazy, bro, it's wold like how things took a
- 51:29turn. But yeah, man, the Dobinski waited by a bell at the
- 51:36end of the at the end of the season. Let me run down these
- 51:39charts real quick. I'm not gonna lie. In twenty eleven, it was
- 51:42a Tough one, number ten judas Lady Gaga, number nine Till the World
- 51:49Ends Britney Spears featuring Nicki Minaj and Kesha. Number eight on the Floor Jennifer
- 51:55Lopez featuring pit Bull. Pitbull was the King of Terribleman. Yeah time,
- 52:00bro look at Me. Number seven Chris Brown featuring Lil Wayne and Buster Rhymes.
- 52:07And the crazy thing is that was like a random collapse that came out
- 52:09of nowhere. Facts as as far as like the story that they tell about
- 52:14it, like it wasn't even a play song like that. I think it
- 52:15was Buster Rhymes that approached Wayne and Chris Brown for the song about it and
- 52:22ended up on Chris Brown's album. And then number six was Rolling in the
- 52:28Deep adele that that was, you know, that was a good time,
- 52:31like that was just a dope artist to get number five, Fuck you cee
- 52:37Lo Green, I got her turned singer man Goodie Mob. Number four down
- 52:45on Me Jeremiah featuring fifty number three, just Get Enough The Black Eyed Peas
- 52:52Number two e t. Katie Perry featuring Kanye West. I've never dang.
- 52:58I remember that was a good man. I remember that. This was like
- 53:00at the time when I wasn't really listening to music. I don't even know.
- 53:05It was very poppy, like if you look at the if you listen
- 53:07to that chart. That's a very poppy time and number one that's in them
- 53:10Rihanna feature and Britney spears. It was actually its first weekend number one,
- 53:15April thirty of twenty eleven. Kanye's verse was, bro I gotta I gotta
- 53:23even listen to that song. I don't even heard it. Kanye went crazy
- 53:27on that song. Yeah he did. I remember, I was trying to
- 53:29remember the lyrics. I'm gonna I'm gonna listen to that Drake album now.
- 53:32Man, the next time we talk, I'm just gonna give a quick,
- 53:35my quick review on it. Spent a lot of time on it, but
- 53:38I definitely liked hearing what y'all said about it and all the stuff y'all was
- 53:44talking about. I didn't even really think about, and I'm gonna think about
- 53:46that when I listened to it. And I love that example you gave of
- 53:50Lil Yachty with a J Cole song where Lil Yachty up to his level on
- 53:53the Ja Cole joint, you know what I'm saying. And I love that
- 53:58idea and that premise, and like I said, it kind of just leads
- 54:00into the whole idea of all of us saying the same thing. Like when
- 54:04you know artist is great and they got the ability, you just want to
- 54:08see them, you know, live up to it. Yeah yeah, well
- 54:15yeah, man, y'all got anything else I want to throw in there?
- 54:16Hey, Yo, we haven't really talked about that. You about to be
- 54:27back in Orlando A Sappington left, I'll be back. I'll be gone to
- 54:32November. I'd be gone to November. He yeah, I'll be back by
- 54:37Thanksgiving for shure back in the Let's just gonna get tired of me, Like
- 54:42I told you, bro, So everybody knows like I have no friends.
- 54:45I'm like a like a I'll be like in the You remember staying from w
- 54:50CW. He used to hang out on the rafters with a little bird on
- 54:52his shoulder. He just just watch what was going on and like he would
- 54:55never participate for like a whole year straight, just looking at mother fuckers.
- 55:00I just be dog, I just I just like to be alone, man,
- 55:04to be alone. But Quincy left. Dog, I don't got no
- 55:07friends since Quincy left. So you know you can slide right in pause,
- 55:13pulling skirt skirt like yo, write a song for me? Yeah, and
- 55:19you gotta pull up to vibe in the studio. Man, that's gonna be
- 55:21We're definitely gonna do a lot of that for sure too. Bro. And
- 55:24then when Quincy comes to town, we both already there, we can finally
- 55:28do a podcasting person Like, there's so much still open up. There's so
- 55:32much we're gonna open up with my move back, and I'm excited for it.
- 55:36Hell yeah, were you saying Quincy. Yeah, no, I was
- 55:37saying and going to that point, Yeah, to that point you just said.
- 55:43Man, I'm definitely gonna try to be out there more, especially if
- 55:45you're out there, Joe. I'm definitely trying to because there's nothing to make
- 55:46that quick drive. But yeah, man, I got a joint dropping tomorrow
- 55:51called make It Last Man, So y'all listening check that out with a sample
- 55:57making the key sweat sample, man, So that's dope. Another joint dropping,
- 56:01Man. I'm trying to keep it going through the end of the year,
- 56:05and then I think I'm gonna take some time to start like prepping for
- 56:07an album. Man. Just yeah, My Dogs for all the Dogs.
- 56:15A lot of different dog reads out there, so I think you know,
- 56:21I'm not I'm not gonna I'm not gonna sell that, but Yeah, a
- 56:27lot of a lot of dope stuff going on like always you know, you
- 56:30already know, you know Quincy Man, but he got a steak butter after
- 57:14a not not at not not b after a not a not after a not
- 59:20do an do after account at
