- Lucas: Hey, welcome back to Learn German with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Hi everyone! I'm so ready for today. Lucas: Me too. Last time we were at the museum. Today, we're going somewhere totally different — the swimming pool. Luna: Oh, I love swimming! How do you say 'swimming pool' in German? Lucas: It's das Schwimmbad. Let's say it together: das Schwimmbad. Luna: Das Schwimmbad. Lucas: Perfect. Das Schwimmbad. And the verb 'to swim' is schwimmen. Luna: Schwimmen. Like 'I want to swim'? Ich möchte schwimmen? Lucas: Exactly! Ich möchte schwimmen. Great connection. So if you're at the pool, you might need a swim cap. Luna: A swim cap? That's die Badekappe, right? Lucas: Yes! Die Badekappe. You've been studying. Say it. Luna: Die Badekappe. Lucas: And to change clothes, you go to die Umkleidekabine — the changing room. Luna: Umkleidekabine. That's a long word! Let me try: die Umkleidekabine. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you're looking for the pool, ask: Wo ist das Schwimmbad? Luna: Wo ist das Schwimmbad? Where is the swimming pool. Lucas: Right. Let's practice that. Wo ist das Schwimmbad? Luna: Wo ist das Schwimmbad? Lucas: Good. Now imagine you're at the pool entrance. You say to the lifeguard, 'Wo ist das Schwimmbad?' But you're already there, so it's a bit funny. Luna: Right, that would be silly. But maybe you're looking for the indoor pool or the outdoor pool. Lucas: Exactly. And if you want to swim, you say 'Ich möchte schwimmen.' Let's repeat that: Ich möchte schwimmen. Luna: Ich möchte schwimmen. Lucas: Now let's put it all together. You go to the pool, you ask 'Wo ist das Schwimmbad?', then you find the Umkleidekabine, put on your Badekappe, and say 'Ich möchte schwimmen.'. Luna: Okay, let me try: Wo ist das Schwimmbad? Ich möchte in die Umkleidekabine gehen. Lucas: Nice! You used 'gehen'. But for the swimming itself, it's just 'schwimmen'. So 'Ich möchte schwimmen'. Luna: Ah, got it. Ich möchte schwimmen. Lucas: And speaking of support, you know, making these episodes takes time. Luna: It does, a lot of time actually. Lucas: Yeah. And we can keep doing it thanks to a few listeners who support us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. That really helps keep the show ad-free. Luna: Yeah, it's a small group, but it makes a big difference. Lucas: So if you've been learning and want to help, that's a great way. Now back to the pool! Let's practice 'die Badekappe' again. Luna: Die Badekappe. Lucas: And 'die Umkleidekabine'. Luna: Die Umkleidekabine. Lucas: Great. So, if you're at the pool, remember: das Schwimmbad, schwimmen, die Badekappe, die Umkleidekabine, and the question 'Wo ist das Schwimmbad?'. Luna: I'll practice those. Maybe I'll go swimming this weekend and try them out. Lucas: That's a great idea. Just don't forget your Badekappe. Luna: Exactly. Thanks, Lucas. This was fun. Lucas: You're welcome, Luna. And listeners, practice these phrases until we meet again. Auf Wiedersehen! Luna: Tschüss!
