- 0:12Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, welcome, welcome Wenk. It's
- 0:14Speaker 1: time now for car talk, maybe a little thunder talk
- 0:16Speaker 1: to you. Brad Dungeons with Dungeons Toyota and we've got
- 0:20Speaker 1: the House of Thunder T shirt going on there.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Brad are Yeah, you're ready to go, aren't you. Kimberly
- 0:25Speaker 2: and Bony got invited to go to the Western Conference
- 0:28Speaker 2: Finals clinching game down in Oklahoma City and brought me
- 0:31Speaker 2: back a shirt.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Great game and nice little Yes.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Very excited. I guess well, first of all, good morning friends,
- 0:39Speaker 2: thank you for joining us this morning. We're so glad
- 0:41Speaker 2: you're with us. It's June twenty twenty five. And weather
- 0:45Speaker 2: it's not necessarily cooperating much this week or recently. Yeah. Well,
- 0:50Speaker 2: the teacher's got familiar with me be doing the car
- 0:53Speaker 2: in and out dance this week several times, and we'll
- 0:56Speaker 2: do it again this evening. I suppose that people keep
- 0:58Speaker 2: remarking on when they drive buying all the cars are
- 1:01Speaker 2: sucked up inside and the lot looks empty. But that's
- 1:05Speaker 2: I guess thunder is appropriate. Yeah right, and do you
- 1:09Speaker 2: have the T shirt on? And I had a Toyota
- 1:12Speaker 2: guy visit yesterday and he said, that's you know, a
- 1:15Speaker 2: lot of lots are empty right now in the Toyota world.
- 1:18Speaker 2: We continue just selling so many of our vehicles so quickly,
- 1:23Speaker 2: and supply and demand or just a little bit out
- 1:26Speaker 2: of balance, which is a good thing. I suppose continuing
- 1:29Speaker 2: the hot pace of sales and demand for Toyota's is
- 1:34Speaker 2: is great. So I wanted to congratulate our team too
- 1:40Speaker 2: on being number one in Oklahoma in terms of percentage
- 1:43Speaker 2: of an objective for Toyota last month. That's great and
- 1:47Speaker 2: super important as one of their smaller dealers. That helps
- 1:50Speaker 2: us earn additional inventory and and helps us keep stay stronger.
- 1:55Speaker 2: We're you know, we are a small business like like
- 1:59Speaker 2: you are. Jason. Jason from Barlsviill Bikes joins me today.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Hello everyone, Hello, thanks for coming again, Jason, Thanks for
- 2:06Speaker 2: having me. It's been about a year since since you
- 2:09Speaker 2: came on, and I think right before Tulsa tough last year. Yes,
- 2:14Speaker 2: I was talking to Malcolm last week and we're going
- 2:17Speaker 2: to go down tomorrow night and watch some of their
- 2:20Speaker 2: Criterion races downtown Tulsa. Hopefully the weather will hold off
- 2:24Speaker 2: and hopefully and be fine. It's a it's a big deal.
- 2:27Speaker 2: But at first I just want to hear what's going
- 2:30Speaker 2: on at the shop and around around Barsville biking from you.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Oh, you know, the shops still doing well, love helping
- 2:37Speaker 3: the community. I'm seeing a little bit more interest. People
- 2:40Speaker 3: are happy to have a shop around now. They're pulling
- 2:42Speaker 3: their bikes out, getting them fixed, seeing more of them
- 2:45Speaker 3: out on the trails.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Yeah. No, the Mountain bike trails out at Hudson Lake
- 2:50Speaker 2: getting a lot of use. It seems like, I mean
- 2:52Speaker 2: a little money these last few weeks, and I see
- 2:55Speaker 2: more people out there all the time.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Yeah, picking up in the Pathfinder Trails. Been doing a
- 3:00Speaker 3: lot of renovation, Yeah, a lot nicer, some new pavement. Yeah,
- 3:04Speaker 3: it's a great place.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Awesome. Yeah, and your your shop A lot of people
- 3:08Speaker 2: people may not know, but you've been around about three
- 3:10Speaker 2: years I think almost yes, in the mall at Washington
- 3:14Speaker 2: Park Mall and have a really a great, great little shop.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I've used you to help maintain my bike and you're
- 3:21Speaker 2: so accessible and right here in town and lots of experience.
- 3:26Speaker 2: So tell them about your vision and you know what
- 3:28Speaker 2: you're trying to do with Barlsville Bikes.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Well, And at some point I'd like to get out,
- 3:33Speaker 3: just expand career, wider range of products to help more people.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Having another gentleman who's involved with the bike, mountain bike trails,
- 3:41Speaker 3: it's another avenue people. Some people are afraid to be
- 3:43Speaker 3: on the road, so let's keep That's.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Why I'm usually on the trails.
- 3:47Speaker 3: Yeah, the pathfinders get Yeah, let's keep adding some more
- 3:50Speaker 3: mountain bike trails. Do more mountain bike stuff. The pathfinder
- 3:53Speaker 3: stuff is great. I like to get some organized rides
- 3:56Speaker 3: going here at some point, you know, start bringing the
- 3:58Speaker 3: community together and seeing what else is out there. Gravel rides,
- 4:02Speaker 3: the county roads you can get minutes away to hear
- 4:05Speaker 3: out no man's.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Life, the great country roads too, where there aren't isn't
- 4:10Speaker 2: really that much vehicular traffic truthfully around here got the
- 4:14Speaker 2: wholes and you know, it's it is. There's a lot
- 4:16Speaker 2: of great rides. And you know, I was that there's
- 4:20Speaker 2: you know, I agree that's something we could use around Bartlesville.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And the Tulsa Tough example is really great with all
- 4:27Speaker 2: the stuff that is fun off out of that and
- 4:29Speaker 2: the Tulsa Wheelman kind of going back to the beginning
- 4:33Speaker 2: and and that whole you know, I was looking at
- 4:36Speaker 2: their website today and all the different groups they have
- 4:39Speaker 2: with the Divas and the other folks, and I mean
- 4:42Speaker 2: there's lots of rides that going on, not just during
- 4:45Speaker 2: this period but all year.
- 4:46Speaker 3: And they just started a group up, dude, many.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I couldn't remember what it was, but I saw that guy.
- 4:53Speaker 2: I like the Divas a group ride thing for men.
- 4:56Speaker 3: But now the men you want to get into it,
- 4:58Speaker 3: but it might be a little, you know, well skeptical
- 5:01Speaker 3: of it, are a little unsure themselves, and they're handling
- 5:03Speaker 3: because they see all the other guys out there and
- 5:05Speaker 3: all their fancy bikes flying around. This is a great
- 5:08Speaker 3: place to get them started.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Yeah, no, And I don't think people should be intimidated
- 5:12Speaker 2: about that. And you know, especially you know, I'm more
- 5:15Speaker 2: familiar with mountain biking. But even if you were getting
- 5:17Speaker 2: out on the roads and you know, being with other
- 5:20Speaker 2: people at your same level would be really important to
- 5:22Speaker 2: enjoy it.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And even the higher level people have been very experienced.
- 5:25Speaker 3: They're very welcoming there. Anyone will just stop a drop
- 5:29Speaker 3: of a hat to help you, give you a pointers
- 5:33Speaker 3: drop back, and help help you ride, even if you're
- 5:35Speaker 3: a little off pace, a little slower though little encourage
- 5:38Speaker 3: you to stay with you. Yeah, you don't really have
- 5:39Speaker 3: the egos or attitudes in the cycling world.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Yeah, and the you know, with mountain biking, it's that
- 5:45Speaker 2: challenge too, and we are all going to fall over
- 5:47Speaker 2: at some point and then oh yeah, oh yeah. That's
- 5:51Speaker 2: part of the great thing about that as it is,
- 5:54Speaker 2: it's that can I do it? And then and then
- 5:58Speaker 2: doing it some you know some of the time, others
- 6:00Speaker 2: you got to try again.
- 6:01Speaker 3: I think the most fun is after the ride with
- 6:03Speaker 3: mountain biking, sitting around in the parking lot just making
- 6:06Speaker 3: fun of each other, joking around about this crash or
- 6:09Speaker 3: how you did this cool jump you know, yeah.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Yeah, that's awesome. And also just shout out to the
- 6:16Speaker 2: folks at OKM. It's the forty first OKM Festival. It's
- 6:20Speaker 2: been going on with the kids stuff all week and
- 6:23Speaker 2: there's more today. I think they're just starting in a
- 6:25Speaker 2: few minutes with the kids kids stuff, and then it
- 6:28Speaker 2: kicks off tomorrow night out at Woola Rock and a
- 6:32Speaker 2: concert in Tulsa on Saturday night and back here in
- 6:36Speaker 2: Marsville on Sunday night with finale at at the Refinery.
- 6:41Speaker 2: So it can get a check that out. If you
- 6:43Speaker 2: haven't got your tickets already, I bet there are still
- 6:46Speaker 2: some left or hopefully you can get some. The other
- 6:50Speaker 2: news around the dealership I wanted to bring up we did.
- 6:54Speaker 2: We recently had the new Wrap four launch. If you
- 6:57Speaker 2: haven't seen the all new RAP four, it's not out yet,
- 7:00Speaker 2: it'll be out at the end of this year. But
- 7:02Speaker 2: to just hit it out of the park again with
- 7:05Speaker 2: their new product that keeps improving everything we you know
- 7:08Speaker 2: it uh, everything from how the vehicle operates, it's fuel economy,
- 7:13Speaker 2: flexibility and power trains and such, the safety equipment in
- 7:17Speaker 2: the car, and then how the you know, you know,
- 7:21Speaker 2: how we interface with the car, the technology and you
- 7:24Speaker 2: know that's happening in bikes too, you know, I know
- 7:27Speaker 2: they're advancing technology all the time right now, and I
- 7:31Speaker 2: wanted to ask you about some of that because we
- 7:33Speaker 2: see it in the car business and it's kind of
- 7:35Speaker 2: big news. But it's got to infect the bike business too,
- 7:39Speaker 2: everything from tariffs to to the even AI and stuff
- 7:43Speaker 2: like that. I'm sure, what's have you seen any price
- 7:47Speaker 2: increases yet from.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Oh they've already they've been happening. I try to keep
- 7:51Speaker 3: mine still as well as possible, just to help people
- 7:54Speaker 3: get into it, but you can't get around it. It's
- 7:57Speaker 3: it's and it hasn't been too bad. It's more of
- 8:00Speaker 3: an availability issue. It's harder to get come right now
- 8:03Speaker 3: than it is the terroriffs. There's small increases and we'll
- 8:07Speaker 3: just see what happens down the road.
- 8:08Speaker 2: Uh huh. Yeah. And what about new technology, I know,
- 8:11Speaker 2: you know, advanced biking, you know, like with the Tour
- 8:14Speaker 2: de France coming up here in a few weeks. Those
- 8:16Speaker 2: guys have some pretty incredible machines and it's not matriculating
- 8:20Speaker 2: down into the common bikes or what do you it is.
- 8:23Speaker 3: It's it's really it's always changing, always evolving, tough to
- 8:27Speaker 3: keep up every time there's something new, the new tools,
- 8:30Speaker 3: new techniques to fix the stuff.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Sure, yeah, people.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Stuff to keep up on all that which I do.
- 8:37Speaker 3: I keep up on that you do. But it's really
- 8:39Speaker 3: neat to see some stuff from just three four years
- 8:42Speaker 3: ago at the pros are writing that you can get
- 8:45Speaker 3: just about anywhere now.
- 8:47Speaker 2: It's I've seen that just with my mountain bikes through
- 8:50Speaker 2: the years, the evolution of the bike and how much
- 8:53Speaker 2: easier it is to ride today, and it's more comfortable
- 8:56Speaker 2: and if it responds better.
- 8:58Speaker 3: And the design of their suspensions is some mountain bikes
- 9:01Speaker 3: to the drive train with you know, I ride wireless
- 9:04Speaker 3: electronic shifting hit buttons, it sends a signal. It shifts
- 9:07Speaker 3: your gears. Very cool, easy to switch stuff out. You
- 9:10Speaker 3: don't have all those cables have to deal with.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, and you know, bike maintenance, just like with cars,
- 9:17Speaker 2: is really important. To keep your bike in top shape
- 9:19Speaker 2: and make sure you can get back on your right
- 9:22Speaker 2: if you're out there, I hud some lake, you want
- 9:24Speaker 2: to make it back from from the top of Blue Mountain.
- 9:27Speaker 3: You know, well, it's cars or bikes, and you know,
- 9:29Speaker 3: I think clean car or clean bike. It's a happy
- 9:31Speaker 3: buy a cafy car. They tend to be faster, they
- 9:34Speaker 3: tend to be smoother, they're more fun to ride.
- 9:36Speaker 2: Cleanliness and what else do people need to do with
- 9:39Speaker 2: a bike regularly? I need to know because I need
- 9:42Speaker 2: my bike maintained.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I'm sure most most important thing is, you know, keep
- 9:46Speaker 3: it somewhat clean. You don't have to keep it meticulous,
- 9:49Speaker 3: just check lube every once in a while. The biggest
- 9:52Speaker 3: problem people overloob sometimes okay, and the cause more problems,
- 9:55Speaker 3: but just if it's dry, squeaky, rusty, clean it, throw
- 9:58Speaker 3: a lube on it. But the most important thing, no
- 10:01Speaker 3: matter what kind of bike you ride is tire pressure.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Right.
- 10:04Speaker 3: People don't chuck their tire pressure if your tires are
- 10:07Speaker 3: a little low and you can hit a pothole, a
- 10:11Speaker 3: crack in the road and you get flat tire real quick.
- 10:14Speaker 3: And that's the number one cause of flats is in
- 10:16Speaker 3: proper tire pressure.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Right, and it is uh yeah, that's when you're a
- 10:21Speaker 2: little more dangerous too. You're stopped on the road and
- 10:23Speaker 2: you know you've got to deal with an issue then too.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Not front on the bike or like it's been the
- 10:28Speaker 3: past two months, you're stuck out in the road getting
- 10:31Speaker 3: dumped on with rain.
- 10:33Speaker 2: It has been a fact lately. Hopefully we'll get through
- 10:36Speaker 2: that here some and get to get to get back
- 10:39Speaker 2: out there or just fight on through the rain.
- 10:42Speaker 3: I suppose take it when we can.
- 10:43Speaker 2: I guess the h I mentioned the toll stuff'st going
- 10:48Speaker 2: on this week and all the OKM things the out
- 10:52Speaker 2: of the dealership. We've moved on into June, and we've
- 10:54Speaker 2: got some great incentives on Toyota's right now. They just
- 10:58Speaker 2: announced a new or what they first of all, they
- 11:02Speaker 2: continued the trade assist on the tundra, so you can
- 11:05Speaker 2: get either a three thousand dollars rebate plus one thousand
- 11:08Speaker 2: dollars trade assist or interest rates as low as two
- 11:12Speaker 2: point nine percent and the thousand dollars trade assists. So
- 11:16Speaker 2: it's a really great opportunity on tundra to get a deal.
- 11:20Speaker 2: And trade values continued to be, you know, kind of
- 11:24Speaker 2: pushed up by the tariff stuff. I mean as far
- 11:27Speaker 2: as Toyota right now, they're still holding the line. Every
- 11:31Speaker 2: car we've had allocated to us has been the same
- 11:34Speaker 2: price it was as when it was started the process
- 11:38Speaker 2: of reaching us. You know, I know they're they're hopeful
- 11:42Speaker 2: there'll be some kind of you know, clarity on how
- 11:45Speaker 2: it's going to settle, and you know, they keep saying
- 11:49Speaker 2: that that's ongoing, and I know we hear about that
- 11:51Speaker 2: if you watch the news. So, but that's led to
- 11:54Speaker 2: a little bit even though the new car price hadn't
- 11:56Speaker 2: really gone up, the demand is maybe a little bit higher,
- 11:59Speaker 2: and use car values have gone up. So really, frankly,
- 12:02Speaker 2: at this point, your trade is probably worth more than
- 12:05Speaker 2: it was, uh, you know, a few weeks ago. Of course,
- 12:09Speaker 2: use car values are always changing, and you know, and
- 12:12Speaker 2: they it's something that we look at every day. You know,
- 12:15Speaker 2: part of our business model is trying to keep make
- 12:18Speaker 2: that what we call the simple price, a real market
- 12:21Speaker 2: based price. So it uh, you know, I think some
- 12:25Speaker 2: cars are going to you know, are always leave worth
- 12:28Speaker 2: more than others, and we we want to price them
- 12:31Speaker 2: right for people. When when you know, so that you
- 12:33Speaker 2: don't have to fight over the price of the car,
- 12:36Speaker 2: that everybody gets a fair deal on the car. And
- 12:39Speaker 2: and we uh, we get you to stay in business
- 12:42Speaker 2: and keep serving the community and take care of our customers. Again,
- 12:46Speaker 2: it's uh, and I know that's your small business and
- 12:49Speaker 2: and it's uh, you know, need the community support you.
- 12:52Speaker 2: It's it's one of those things I think we share.
- 12:55Speaker 2: And then that tole uh, you know, kind of so
- 12:59Speaker 2: much our world is gotten into that the big world
- 13:01Speaker 2: than kind of the regional world and then the community and.
- 13:05Speaker 3: See more big world and more back to small community again.
- 13:09Speaker 2: No, I think there is kind of a you know,
- 13:12Speaker 2: we're seeing just in the world more of that populous
- 13:15Speaker 2: kind of idea and and that you know, I don't
- 13:17Speaker 2: know that that's quite the same, but it is in
- 13:19Speaker 2: a way because the big, big world is doesn't give
- 13:22Speaker 2: you that personal service that you can at your dealership
- 13:26Speaker 2: and really, uh, you know, take care of people.
- 13:28Speaker 3: I enjoy about the small businesses. They remember you and yeah,
- 13:32Speaker 3: truty fair, they want you to come back.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's number super important. Our community based businesses are
- 13:39Speaker 2: the ones that are right here in Bartlesville have made
- 13:42Speaker 2: the it, uh you know, thrive truthfully. I mean with
- 13:45Speaker 2: the big corporate world has certainly helped us thrive as well,
- 13:50Speaker 2: but the two together make Bartlesville such a rich place community.
- 13:55Speaker 2: And so anyway, that's that's really a great example of
- 14:00Speaker 2: what we can do together to make it stronger. The
- 14:03Speaker 2: h is there? What else you got going on at
- 14:06Speaker 2: the shop? I know you've introduced a little bit of
- 14:08Speaker 2: pick a ball stuff? Is that still yeah, go pick
- 14:12Speaker 2: a ball?
- 14:12Speaker 3: That's still going Looking at bringing in some more stuff
- 14:16Speaker 3: real soon got some new just like cars and bikes,
- 14:19Speaker 3: you have new products, new paddles. Okay, I got some
- 14:22Speaker 3: more of that coming in and pick up.
- 14:26Speaker 2: So looking for some place where you can actually go
- 14:30Speaker 2: and talk to people about that and see different Uh
- 14:34Speaker 2: you hold different rackets in your hand and understand what
- 14:37Speaker 2: the differences are. That's what you've got a shop right
- 14:39Speaker 2: here in town where you can do that. Yes, and
- 14:43Speaker 2: you you do not only maintain, but you sell and
- 14:48Speaker 2: do all kinds of other stuff in the shop. Tell
- 14:50Speaker 2: them a little bit about what kind of bikes you
- 14:53Speaker 2: you do retail?
- 14:55Speaker 3: Sure, So I deal with a couple of brands. I've
- 15:00Speaker 3: it on a company called State Bicycle Company. They're out
- 15:02Speaker 3: of Arizona. They do a lot more fun stuff, single speed,
- 15:07Speaker 3: fixed gear stuff. All road gravel riding is like the
- 15:10Speaker 3: big thing right now. So they have a lot of
- 15:12Speaker 3: all road gravel bikes and they're very very affordable, good
- 15:16Speaker 3: values on their bikes, and they're easy to come by.
- 15:19Speaker 3: I do special orders. They get them within thin days
- 15:23Speaker 3: or weeks of most they bring out State Bicycle Companies
- 15:28Speaker 3: State and they've got some things that they call like
- 15:31Speaker 3: a clunker bike, something interesting. You don't see around here yet,
- 15:34Speaker 3: but there are other parts.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Of the familiar with them up in Colorado. We see
- 15:38Speaker 2: them out there. You know. Back in the early eighties
- 15:41Speaker 2: when Crested Butte was kabooming and starting the crate mountain
- 15:44Speaker 2: biking stuff up there, they were all clunkers being taken
- 15:48Speaker 2: out in the mountains.
- 15:49Speaker 3: So that's what they've got and they've got all different colors.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Now they've brought out a line of NFL so you
- 15:54Speaker 3: can get team branded bikes and gear. So I've got
- 15:58Speaker 3: to get my Chicago Bear stuff.
- 16:00Speaker 2: You know, so gravel bikes and Simple Warner speed bikes
- 16:05Speaker 2: and BMX.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Stuff BMX as well. Yes, that's been the hot thing
- 16:10Speaker 3: with the USA BMX track here. The BMX racing, the
- 16:14Speaker 3: freestyle is starting to really pick up again.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Are there people in Barlsville doing that too?
- 16:19Speaker 3: A little bit? Yeah, So we've got the Great Park
- 16:21Speaker 3: at Lee Lake. Yeah, that's the bike park. There are
- 16:24Speaker 3: two different sections and I've seen more and more people
- 16:27Speaker 3: show up there as well.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I know that's awesome. And you forget about the
- 16:31Speaker 2: BMX headquarters down there in Tulsa, but that, you know,
- 16:34Speaker 2: Tulsa has really got a lot of great biking stuff
- 16:37Speaker 2: going on. When you think about it, that you know
- 16:39Speaker 2: that Tulsa Tough thing is amazing to me. How many
- 16:42Speaker 2: people come and visit and race in that race and
- 16:45Speaker 2: from all over the world.
- 16:46Speaker 3: Well, it's part of that. Well, they used to have
- 16:48Speaker 3: a pro crit series, that's part of that. They've changed
- 16:52Speaker 3: some organizations and who oversees it all, but every year
- 16:54Speaker 3: the top of the nation, people from all over the
- 16:57Speaker 3: world come and do it. So you have some guys
- 16:58Speaker 3: from the pro teams, big pro teams that you might
- 17:01Speaker 3: see race the big races in Europe. Those guys might
- 17:04Speaker 3: come out to do the stuff.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Yeah. No, it's great to have it right here and
- 17:08Speaker 2: uh in our area in northeast Oklahoma, and uh.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Very spectator friendly there, really is. That's why I love
- 17:15Speaker 3: with the criteria racing.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Right.
- 17:17Speaker 3: You know, you're only half mile or so just around
- 17:19Speaker 3: some many city blocks, so you can find one spot
- 17:22Speaker 3: and sit and watch them just lap.
- 17:23Speaker 2: After that come around very regularly. It's it's really a
- 17:25Speaker 2: lot of fun. And the races don't last that long really,
- 17:29Speaker 2: so they're.
- 17:30Speaker 3: From half an hour to an hour and a half
- 17:32Speaker 3: and spectators all get in do it. It's just it's
- 17:35Speaker 3: it's a blast.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of fun. I'd be excited to
- 17:38Speaker 2: go check that out the uh and then they do
- 17:41Speaker 2: longer rides too, and I know, you know there's stuff
- 17:44Speaker 2: like that, aren't aren't there some of that? And around here?
- 17:47Speaker 2: Are there any organized groups going out on bike rides
- 17:51Speaker 2: in our area anymore?
- 17:52Speaker 3: A little bit? And it's kind of starting to pick
- 17:54Speaker 3: back up. I think after when COVID came, it really
- 17:56Speaker 3: hurt a lot that more around here. Tulsa actually got
- 18:00Speaker 3: busier and more rides. But it's starting to pick up again.
- 18:03Speaker 3: I'm seeing more riders and what went from one to
- 18:07Speaker 3: three people riding, I'm seeing five, six, seven people on
- 18:10Speaker 3: little group rides. Now they have some routes out here
- 18:13Speaker 3: on some evenings and on Saturday mornings.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Okay, good, that's yeah. There's communities out there. You know.
- 18:19Speaker 2: I mentioned the Mountain Bike community out at Hudson Lake,
- 18:23Speaker 2: and you can check all that out. I mean, if
- 18:24Speaker 2: you're Facebook biking around here, you'll find most of it
- 18:27Speaker 2: out there being talked about. Yes, yes, So other stuff
- 18:32Speaker 2: going on with dealers. If I mentioned some of our
- 18:34Speaker 2: incentives that got changed out, we also just got a
- 18:36Speaker 2: new allocation. So that's always good to talk about that
- 18:39Speaker 2: because with toyotas, when you're the top turning or percent
- 18:44Speaker 2: of objective dealer in the state, you end up the
- 18:46Speaker 2: month without very many cars. So we ended up selling
- 18:49Speaker 2: about thirty toyotas, and we ended up with about seven
- 18:52Speaker 2: on the ground that were solable, which is remarkable to me.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Then and then we got to somehow get back up
- 18:58Speaker 2: and sell thirty again. So it's where these ones that
- 19:02Speaker 2: are coming in or are pretty critical. But we do
- 19:06Speaker 2: have a great inventory actually on the ground and coming.
- 19:08Speaker 2: And we've got a Sequoia platinum on the ground right
- 19:12Speaker 2: now that just got in last week, Beautiful Sequia, it's
- 19:15Speaker 2: been totally redesigned, a beautiful SUV. We've got a Highlander
- 19:23Speaker 2: in stock right now, a couple of Tacomas, a couple
- 19:27Speaker 2: of Wrap fours plus a Wrap four on the way,
- 19:29Speaker 2: a Tundra on the way, Corolla's allocated to us, a
- 19:34Speaker 2: couple of Corolla crosses, a bunch more tacomas and allocation
- 19:38Speaker 2: status and a few forerunners, and most of those vehicles
- 19:42Speaker 2: will be here later this month and then later probably
- 19:46Speaker 2: later today, maybe tomorrow, we'll find out about there were
- 19:49Speaker 2: fourteen of them allocated to us in the last It
- 19:54Speaker 2: happens twice a month with Toyota, so we can't really
- 19:57Speaker 2: order vehicles or tell us here's what your share is,
- 20:02Speaker 2: and you know. And then and we've got this time
- 20:06Speaker 2: a great selection things coming, like another four runner, a
- 20:10Speaker 2: couple of tundras, actually three more tundras, and then four
- 20:14Speaker 2: more tacomas, so really great to see that come in
- 20:17Speaker 2: the truck. The market around here is obviously really important
- 20:22Speaker 2: to us, and Thunder and Tacoma are really great representatives
- 20:27Speaker 2: and segments.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Can't keep those Tacomas on that lot long.
- 20:30Speaker 2: No, they've been, they've been. That's one that we always
- 20:34Speaker 2: out turn everybody in around here. They really are popular.
- 20:38Speaker 2: And you know, we had a we sold our trail Hunter,
- 20:42Speaker 2: which is a brand new Tacoma trim level, very cool
- 20:48Speaker 2: meant for people who go out adventuring in their bikes.
- 20:51Speaker 2: And the guy who who bought it actually came from
- 20:55Speaker 2: Oklahoma City to buy it and he traded in a
- 20:57Speaker 2: Ranger that he'd fitted up as a as a bike ranger,
- 21:01Speaker 2: had a big bike rack on front. He has a
- 21:05Speaker 2: solar panel on the front with an air air compressor
- 21:08Speaker 2: in the back. That solar panel runs the air compressor
- 21:11Speaker 2: so he can check his tire have have you know,
- 21:13Speaker 2: Effisionaire and not just and you know he was I
- 21:17Speaker 2: think planning to go out for quite a while now.
- 21:23Speaker 2: That's still on the lot if you're interested in that.
- 21:25Speaker 2: It's a really cool ranger and seeing a lot of that,
- 21:28Speaker 2: lots of people training in their Fords. It done just Toyota.
- 21:32Speaker 2: So I don't like that, and no offense to the
- 21:35Speaker 2: Forward gang, but but we're now just Toyota. And you
- 21:40Speaker 2: know that small community based business thing I mentioned earlier,
- 21:43Speaker 2: that's uh, I do hear that from our customers now,
- 21:46Speaker 2: especially kind of maybe it's been a little bit start
- 21:50Speaker 2: up by that decision we did sell Forward last year
- 21:53Speaker 2: and and kind of, you know, brought home the fact
- 21:57Speaker 2: that these things are, you know, maybe not guaranteed forever.
- 22:00Speaker 2: You know, when I moved to this town twenty five
- 22:03Speaker 2: years twenty six years ago, I came from Tulsa, where
- 22:07Speaker 2: my father had the dealership and had worked with him
- 22:10Speaker 2: for a few years. But every dealership in town was
- 22:14Speaker 2: owned by people who lived here, and we're local businessmen,
- 22:17Speaker 2: and they didn't really have dealerships anywhere else. And then
- 22:20Speaker 2: all of a sudden, now we're you know, we're the
- 22:23Speaker 2: last one. And you know that it is a business
- 22:26Speaker 2: in a world that's gotten bigger and bigger, and you
- 22:29Speaker 2: know that scale gives them some advantages, but you know
- 22:32Speaker 2: the real advantage we have is personal. Personal, us is
- 22:37Speaker 2: us and our service we can provide our customers, And
- 22:40Speaker 2: I know that's the same at Barlsville bikes for you
- 22:43Speaker 2: and your team. Do you do you have employees? Now?
- 22:45Speaker 2: Do you have a I'm still.
- 22:47Speaker 3: A one man sure right now for the most part.
- 22:49Speaker 3: I've got some family helps me once in a while.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 3: Yeah, it's my bash. I just can't get away from it.
- 22:55Speaker 2: No, let's tell people where you are and because it
- 23:00Speaker 2: so that's a little bit unique to not not many
- 23:02Speaker 2: bike stores in the middle of the mall, I don't think.
- 23:05Speaker 3: Correct, correct? Yeah, most of them. You have a parking
- 23:08Speaker 3: lot and you can drive right in. You can see it.
- 23:10Speaker 3: I'm I'm inside Washington Park mall. Yeah, so you actually
- 23:14Speaker 3: have to come in the mall, which and it's fine.
- 23:17Speaker 3: You can people tell me, yeah, not a problem.
- 23:22Speaker 2: I don't ride it inside the mall.
- 23:26Speaker 3: We get a little extra foot traffic. A slower day
- 23:30Speaker 3: might be fun. It's tempting, you know. I vill admit
- 23:33Speaker 3: I've done it. I've done it.
- 23:36Speaker 2: You know.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Make sure the steering was right on that new one,
- 23:39Speaker 1: you know that's right.
- 23:42Speaker 2: How do you describe which store you go in and
- 23:44Speaker 2: just to get there?
- 23:45Speaker 3: Now, I'm kind of in the east end of the mall, so.
- 23:50Speaker 2: The northeast door, I think where So.
- 23:52Speaker 3: If you're the main most people know the main entrance
- 23:55Speaker 3: to the mall and you come in there we have
- 23:56Speaker 3: the fountain is up and running again, and you could
- 23:59Speaker 3: turn to the right. I'm kind of in between the
- 24:01Speaker 3: main entrance and Dillards. There is a back door another
- 24:04Speaker 3: rear main entrance where it used to be a Cavender's
- 24:09Speaker 3: country store, between Dillards and the old J. C. Pennies.
- 24:13Speaker 3: There's an access there that you can come in as well.
- 24:16Speaker 2: It's about the same disbut the.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Same distance either way. Sometimes you can get closer parking
- 24:21Speaker 3: by the other side.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yeah, there's fewer cars back there, correct. Yeah, And and
- 24:28Speaker 2: what else? How do they get a hold of you?
- 24:30Speaker 2: Is it? Do you want to schedule an appointment? What's
- 24:33Speaker 2: the best way to engage in Barsow Bikes and a
- 24:36Speaker 2: good thing with me?
- 24:37Speaker 3: I am very accessible and I try to get things
- 24:40Speaker 3: turned around very quick. And the best way I was
- 24:43Speaker 3: either through my phone, the shot phone or email and
- 24:48Speaker 3: numbers you know nine one eight four four zero eight
- 24:51Speaker 3: seven four five my email Barsville Bikes at gmail.
- 24:56Speaker 2: There you go. I have a website with both with
- 24:58Speaker 2: your number and your email.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Farswodbikes dot com has information. You can contact me through
- 25:03Speaker 3: the website as well.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Great, well, it's it's so good to have you here.
- 25:08Speaker 2: I'm so glad you're here and have a place to
- 25:11Speaker 2: take my bike and have it worked on, and and
- 25:14Speaker 2: you know, hopefully we can have you back another time.
- 25:17Speaker 2: If you ever have any any news about biking, be
- 25:20Speaker 2: sure to let me know and we'll get you on
- 25:22Speaker 2: that definitely will see if we can grow this community.
- 25:25Speaker 2: And and uh, you know, biking is one of those
- 25:28Speaker 2: unique sports that kind of starts early in our lives.
- 25:33Speaker 2: So many of us can remember those first few pedals
- 25:36Speaker 2: or the falling and the the you know, just that
- 25:41Speaker 2: learning to ride a bike as a kid and the
- 25:43Speaker 2: freedom it gives you that first transportation and the and
- 25:47Speaker 2: you remember that I do. And that's uh, you know,
- 25:52Speaker 2: that kind of goes all the way through life. And
- 25:54Speaker 2: it's one of those things where you don't have to
- 25:56Speaker 2: be fast or strong, and you know, it's a it's
- 25:59Speaker 2: a it's easy. You know, it can be very you know,
- 26:02Speaker 2: not hard, and and or it could be really hard,
- 26:05Speaker 2: and it's one of those things to kind of go
- 26:08Speaker 2: at your own pace. You can have a leisurely ride
- 26:12Speaker 2: and get a little exercise and get outside and enjoy
- 26:16Speaker 2: the breeze and or you can go and you know,
- 26:20Speaker 2: ride halfway around the world. I guess, just go get lost.
- 26:26Speaker 3: That's the most fun. I think. Don't plan anything, just
- 26:29Speaker 3: you go go. You have the whole day to start going.
- 26:32Speaker 3: See what happens.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I'd love to do that out in the
- 26:35Speaker 2: country and anyway, we'll see you out there on the
- 26:39Speaker 2: trails folks, and I go see Jason at Bartlesville Bikes.
- 26:45Speaker 2: He is a great resource if you have questions about
- 26:48Speaker 2: biking around here or just your bike, or to want
- 26:52Speaker 2: to get up on a bike again and haven't done
- 26:55Speaker 2: it in a while, and you know, do if you
- 26:58Speaker 2: have a chance this weekend to check out the tels,
- 27:01Speaker 2: the tough stuff. I'd encourage people to do that and
- 27:04Speaker 2: also Okam and definitely want to support them in their
- 27:08Speaker 2: forty first year in bartles will come out to the
- 27:12Speaker 2: dealership too and say hello to us. We'll be out there.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Probably have to move the cars in again, I guess tonight.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I know, yeah, i'd be good, So maybe we'll start
- 27:23Speaker 2: that this afternoon. But come on out for the Halians.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Get yourself with bargain. We're a little superstitious about that now,
- 27:30Speaker 2: but I saw another dealer was having a hail sell. Yeah,
- 27:34Speaker 2: I know, I don't know that that's a good idea.
- 27:39Speaker 2: My body shop has been pretty busy lately, so I'm
- 27:42Speaker 2: glad all ours are safe. Where can we find you, Brad?
- 27:45Speaker 2: We're at dungeuschoice dot com, done just Toyota dot com.
- 27:49Speaker 2: We're out on a Highway seventy five at nineteen eleven
- 27:52Speaker 2: Southeast Washington Boulevard. I'll be out there, and I've got
- 27:56Speaker 2: my blue on and thunder T shirt from our house
- 28:00Speaker 2: under let's let's let's do it. Let's uh, let's win
- 28:04Speaker 2: the NBA Finals. I mean, wouldn't that be amazing for
- 28:07Speaker 2: take Homer to have a title like that? All right, folks, you've.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Been watching and listening to our car talk program. We
- 28:15Speaker 1: have the Dungeon, Toyota and Brand Dungeons right here on
