- 2:23Yeah you only you only at stunt Man in California. Well, no,
- 2:30probably not the only. There's probably a lot more than you think.
- 2:35Yeah, if they're not like then guys in fat suits. Anyway, that's
- 2:39gotta funked up. That's taking a job away from took. My body is
- 2:47different. Yeah, biology has taught me anything. Everyone's aboudy is different.
- 2:55Still looking to find the one that's not. Yea line up everybody. Luck
- 3:01they do say you have a dappel ganger somewhere. Yeah, it's from the
- 3:06waist down. Yeah, there's more than one. I know because I watch
- 3:08a lot of foreign and I match. I know you do well done.
- 3:15Uh, what's up? You know they're smaller man, amazing. Let's see
- 3:27what's once we've been up to. I got a weird phone call from Dell
- 3:31the company. Oh yeah, this is weird, and I'm like, huh,
- 3:36that's weird. It was having during work, so I didn't answer,
- 3:38you know, let me go to voicemail. But I got the visual voicemail.
- 3:39It's like Hi, Mark, Mark, Okay, Mark, how do
- 3:49you get your number again? You don't save it? Make it your ring.
- 3:53I don't even think about that ship. Stevie. Oh my god,
- 3:57ste no stopping. You're tearing me UPO my god. No, I did
- 4:08not hit that. I did not. I encourage anybody who doesn't or the
- 4:15room to go ahead and stop stop this for right now. Just PAUSEI okay,
- 4:19can come back to us for not life today. Watch it and then
- 4:21I come back. Go watch it. Yeah, it's at least worth watching
- 4:25once. Yeah, all the way through. You gotta you gotta watch it
- 4:28to the end to get allowed to make fun of it till you watch it
- 4:30once. That's kind of the rule. Yeah, okay, and we're back.
- 4:34I hope you enjoyed that. Awesome. So I got this phone caller
- 4:39from Dell blah blah blah. I'm like, well, this is odd.
- 4:42I don't have anything coming from Dell. So I call the little lady and
- 4:45her name I'm not gonna say on here. Well she didn't answer, and
- 4:47I was like, what the fuck? So I call the other part of
- 4:50Dell and they contact me and I'm like, yo, I don't have anything
- 4:54here. You guys got the wrong number, like, there's nothing to catch
- 4:58to this number here. This is I'm not mark. And they're like,
- 5:00okay, cool, we'll tell her, we'll delete this stuff. Cool,
- 5:02awesome, rock on. Hang up. Then Rasp comes up with two FedEx
- 5:08door tags, like, hey, these are on our door last night.
- 5:11What the fuck? So I'm like, all right, cool, thanks,
- 5:14I go inside and I call FedEx. I'm like, yil, motherfuckers.
- 5:16This door tag. Yeah, ain't mine, motherfuckers. Don't put it here.
- 5:19I don't want it. It's not mine. I cool, cool,
- 5:24not mine? Next day, blah blah blah, go to work, come
- 5:27home, cool, everything's copa setic. I looked that word up and then
- 5:31I fucking went inside. And then our roommate, the cybernetic diabetics, You's
- 5:35like, yo, Steve, you got package out here. I'm like those
- 5:39motherfuckers. So I go out there and it's this big fucking package. It's
- 5:44not a desktop, but looks like it's either a giant laptop or a flat
- 5:47screen TV. I'm like, the fuck, So I grab it, pulling
- 5:50inside. Might address to you my address, your name, not my name
- 5:57my address? That says I'm something I don't say the last name. Oh
- 6:00my god. Yeah, but it says my address blah blah blah something l
- 6:04D Ltd. I'm like, that's a company. The fuck. So I
- 6:09look up this company because obviously nobody else is fucking doing their job right around
- 6:12here. So I'm like, look up this company. All right, Cool,
- 6:15they're based in fucking Ohio. Contact the company. I'm like, hang
- 6:18on a second. So so wait a minute, Like a lot of this
- 6:24doesn't make sense exactly. Yeah, how does I'll get to it? How
- 6:28did it get to your address? But they also have your phone number?
- 6:30I think, I think I know why. All right, carry out,
- 6:33so try to get ahold of this company. Fucking instantaneously goes to a voicemail
- 6:38that doesn't have a message. I'm like, this is fucking creepy and shit
- 6:41Jesus correct. So I'm just like, I'm not leaving my fucking phone number
- 6:45on some shit. Shit. I'm like, fuck it, I tried.
- 6:46It's in the middle. It's like ten thirty in the morning, it's work
- 6:50work hours. You know, it's Ohio. There's no time difference. Fuck
- 6:54that right, they should be Yeah, So I'm like, what the fuck
- 6:57is going on? So I call fat X again, and I'm like,
- 7:00listen, no, no, on this one. I open it up.
- 7:02I'm like, fuck it, it's mine. I tried it. I was
- 7:11like, fuck, it is mine. So I opened it up to see
- 7:13what the fuck it is. It's a twenty seven inch fucking high ten ADP
- 7:16fucking monitor and shit, but it's one of those office edition ones, like
- 7:20it's sold. For a second. Yeah, trying to make sure that you're
- 7:25not like admitting to mail friends, I'm not. No, no, he's
- 7:27not. He's not because I made sure. Also, because it's addressed to
- 7:31me, I had to make sure it wasn't anything well, it had somebody
- 7:35else's name but my address. So that's why there's a screw up somewhere.
- 7:39And I contacted every company. I had to see what was inside to make
- 7:42sure. So I opened it up. I'm like, okay, it's a
- 7:44giant fucking monitor. Okay, cool, I don't fucking need a giant monitor.
- 7:48But regardless, I package you back up. I tape it back up,
- 7:51and I'm like all right. I call FedEx again and I'm like,
- 7:55listen, you guys, drop this shit off. It's not mine. I
- 7:58don't have to tell you. They screw it. Up somewhere at Dell,
- 8:01come and get it, Like all right, I'm like, just bring someone
- 8:03here, like we will have someoney there tomorrow morning or tomorrow. I'm like,
- 8:07cool, I'm leaving it outside. Not my problem, yeah, fair
- 8:11enough. We're getting ready to go downstairs row By for dinner. At this
- 8:15point, guy hasn't showed up. I grab it. I was like,
- 8:16well, fucking I can't leave it out here all night. It'll be fucking
- 8:20broke. So I put it inside and then we're getting ready to leave and
- 8:24he's like, oh shit, the FedEx guy is here. I'm like,
- 8:26oh cool. So I give him the fucking package and I'm like cool,
- 8:28blah blah blah. He's like, what was up? But I'm like,
- 8:31this is not my it's addressed here, like to my address. This is
- 8:35not me. And I called Dell and I called you guys, and you
- 8:37guys still delivered it. It's not mine. I don't want it, and
- 8:39they're like, all right, cool, that's that's no problem. He's cancing,
- 8:43no problem, I'll take it back and whatever. He's like, so
- 8:46you don't want to keep this thing? And I'm just like no, Like,
- 8:50as far as I know, it's stolen, somebody's trying to launder it.
- 8:56I want nothing, no part of this at all. So I'm like,
- 9:00what the fuck could it be? Like how did this happen? And
- 9:03then remember I had all these issues with my desktop, and they kept sending
- 9:07me all these different parts, different computers, like refurbished computers. They kept
- 9:11the same service tag from one of them, I think was on the outside
- 9:16of the box, and they just scan them because I just told them no,
- 9:18I didn't want it, and I said, give me a dream machine,
- 9:20blah blah blah, bullshit bullshit. So they just took it back.
- 9:24I never accepted that delivery, but I think the tag was still on it,
- 9:26the service tag number, and it's tied to my contact information. But
- 9:31this person who called called you with their name to say this is my problem
- 9:35with my computer, they screwed up the service tag with my address. It
- 9:39got shipped to me. And I tried to explain this to everybody there,
- 9:43and they're just like, what do we do. I don't know. I
- 9:46don't want it, but you know what I'm doing, not committing mail fry.
- 9:52I did everything that you guys can commit, all the frogs. Why
- 9:58you're a corporation that does stupid ship. Yeah, it's like, what the
- 10:01fuckow, Yeah, it was a crazy I'm like, what you're getting us
- 10:07that it was a trap? It was what it was. They tried to
- 10:09trap you. Yeah, sure was trap. It don't why don't people send
- 10:13me for like this can't be right. I never got a free, like
- 10:18brand new computer, state of the art. I mean, I feel like
- 10:24if it, if it actually had your name on it, you would be
- 10:26pretty and clear to just keep it if that was the case. Yeah,
- 10:30but no, it didn't have his name on it, just his address.
- 10:33You with a monitor he probably sold or something. At first, I thought
- 10:37somebody bought something with a card, because he did have his card stolen not
- 10:39too long ago, and that's what And I'm like, oh, well,
- 10:43this must be what. They must have bought this and it just went through
- 10:46because that happens a lot too. And in those cases you can either turn
- 10:50them into the police station keep them because it's whatever. But yeah, this
- 10:54was a bizarre situation, and even I'm just like, what the fuck,
- 10:58Like, how do you screw that up so bad? They used the same
- 11:01thing, They use the same tag. It's like, just delete my phone
- 11:05number from your system. Please, Okay, just forget I exist for two
- 11:09seconds. Thank you, give me off your mailing list, and then I'll
- 11:13solve your problem as well as mine. Still fixing other people's problems. Yeah,
- 11:18all right, Well, do you guys want to go to a break?
- 11:22I'm down with that. Yeah. Yeah. Well, when we come
- 11:24back, we're going to go through some of the comments y'all have been leaving.
- 11:26Uh, and we'll get to that right after this. Hey you there,
- 11:41We've got a question for you. Are you tired of clickbait stories and
- 11:45the loudest voices driving discussions and culture and entertainment? If so, I'm Dylan,
- 11:50I'm Kendall, and I'm Corey, and we host the podcast from the
- 11:54Middle. We're middle class guys living in the middle of America, in the
- 11:58middle chapters of our lives with points of view Somewhere in the middle. We
- 12:01take a more reasonable and centrist approach in our discussions, covering genres like comedy,
- 12:07culture, entertainment, and interviews with really interesting folks like business owners,
- 12:11comic creators, doctors, news anchors, New York Times bestselling illustrators, professional
- 12:18stand up comics, and more. We really value a relaxed and conversational podcast
- 12:24one that we hope is so fun and laid back you'll forget you're not actually
- 12:28hanging out with us. So search at from the midpod just like it sounds,
- 12:33or check us out everywhere you can find podcasts. Hey man, welcome
- 12:48back. We chill them like villains, and like villains, we're going to
- 12:54go through the comments and see if they gonna have our joker moment. We're
- 13:03the tissues just in case. All right, let's get started. Our first
- 13:13comment, go ahead, oggie, Yeah, first comment. That's right,
- 13:16I got control of this. I got it. Oh okay, well never
- 13:22mind, then you get control. Well, first comment, COEs Casey.
- 13:28No laugh tracks, it's stupid. From our episode show two O seven point
- 13:33five warming Up with Duffy and Midnight Smoke. Yeah I agree. The laugh
- 13:39track discussion. Yeah yeah. Laugh tracks are just it's two forced have either
- 13:46have a live audience or just don't have a laugh track. Just don't bother.
- 13:50Applause is one thing. Hitting a good a good. I think the
- 13:58example is Modern Family, huge, huge success. No laugh track didn't have
- 14:05an audience either, but they just they just went with it, and we're
- 14:09like, our ship is funny. Even if even though we don't need audience,
- 14:13Yeah, they didn't have an audience. They had a dead audience.
- 14:20They couldn't laugh, but they were just there. The crowcheer is fine because
- 14:26it kind of smooths over the awkward transitioning of introducing someone or introducing something,
- 14:31introducing introducing yes, new words to the dictionary. Yeah, kind of okay,
- 14:37cool? Or just be my dyslexia kicking. It's more than likely the
- 14:43case. Just be boy, just be all right. The next comment is
- 14:50on a video called pre show goofing around all this but I had long hair
- 14:56and Stevie get medicated and then perform some pre show checks and then they get
- 15:03I don't I don't recall all of it, but I do recall at one
- 15:09point I let Steve use my hair like a beard. Holy hi, I
- 15:16believe that we gave this for free to anybody who followed us on Patreons.
- 15:22Yes, yeah, you know if you follow us on Patreon. If you've
- 15:24been on Patreon, just go to Patreon, get an account, and follow
- 15:28us, and you'll be able to see this for free without that back.
- 15:31There's a lot of free stuff. We just March eleventh, posting it is
- 15:37from Kristen Farley and says, love that you respect the napping cat on your
- 15:41chair, Agie, Yeah, yeah, I mean I do that far chilling
- 15:46there. Yeah yeah. So I'm a very I think that's why cats like
- 15:48me, because I'm very accommodating to cats. I know they're very prideful creatures.
- 15:56And if you stroke that ego of there's they Yeah yeah, truth all
- 16:03right. Our next comment is on episode two O seven The Game Shows with
- 16:07the gate Leapers episode where we tried to have a gate Leapers style episode,
- 16:11and Justin Brown very kindly said, what a great episode. So much fun
- 16:15they had fun. Oh my god, we had a great time. It
- 16:17was a lot of fun. I love and I fear having them on every
- 16:21time because they are the only other like variety type game show podcast. We
- 16:26know show I know, and man, I know, but I get they're
- 16:30so good though, they're so good. Do you listen to the gate Leapers?
- 16:33I listened to every episode. I listened to the Jordan did it released
- 16:37every other Thursday? I know, I do. Let's do my work.
- 16:41But to be afraid of there are awesome people, they love us, we
- 16:44love that. I'm intimidated. Oh don't be intimidated, especially by their their
- 16:48their fake co host. I mean, they do have special powers that they
- 16:52can create. It do they can create an entire human being. He's like
- 16:57perfect assassin because he's everywhere and nowhere. Steve is so like and he's he's
- 17:03literally like he's he can be anything, Jason. There was one episode where
- 17:08Audre said he was a wax work at one point, and then there's another
- 17:12episode where someone said he's the T one thousand. I'm like, oh my
- 17:15god, he might Jason went is everything? Maybe they terrifying Jason, So
- 17:21I kind of get it. You know why you haven't seen him becau.
- 17:22He've been slowly making his way to you this whole time, on foot across
- 17:27the the march from Colorado. Just how many days to walk? He'll be
- 17:33here someday for you, Steve, and then you'll know. Then for sure,
- 17:37you'll know it be real. He'll just kick open the door and point
- 17:40a finger at you. I'm real, motherfucker, just walk back out like
- 17:45that's all he came to. He's your paralysis demon. Now he's gonna show
- 17:51up at the end of your b I cannot wait to tell Jason that the
- 17:56twist is going to be he is really I and I really am. That's
- 18:00what We've never been separated at birth. Look at Marvels gott to create a
- 18:06paradox. Next time we do a crossover, only one of us can answer
- 18:11at the time. Oh shit, he's right, that's funny. They have
- 18:18to take turns answering. That's fantastic, two headed just Stephen alright. Our
- 18:29next, Our next comment is on the Sneaky Snake Routine video. Oh dear,
- 18:33we did it. I mean the comment is just a bunch of laughing
- 18:38It's a laughing emoji's just several of them. This and that's fair. That
- 18:45was a very silly video. I loved it on TikTok. It made me
- 18:47laugh. Sky Snake Routine. We got to comment on episode two of seven
- 18:55Game Shows The Gate Leaders. But this was on our video release. Yeah,
- 18:59so you have to be a Patreon supporter to get access to our video
- 19:02episodes. But Jeremy Farley said, so excited for you with the Kickstarter.
- 19:07All the luck to you, sir, Thank you, Yeah, thank you
- 19:10very much. Yeah, in case it hasn't already been said on the show,
- 19:15we're fully funded. Yeah, I have one hundred percent of all funding.
- 19:18Now, the only concern that I have is that we are still at
- 19:22a point where a single person could retract their pledge and we'd be back under
- 19:26one hundred percent again. So I'd like to get a little buffer, So
- 19:32I put up a stretch goal where if we hit seventy five hundred, I
- 19:37will give everyone who backed the kickstarter a bonus chapter. Stevie's mouthed the word
- 19:42a blow. I'm going to write a bonus chapter and give it to everyone
- 19:56who backed the Kickstarter, and it bridges the events of Fame with the second
- 20:00book that I'm writing now, No Ship. Yeah, that's fucking cool.
- 20:07It was the best thing I could come up with. It didn't involve anybody
- 20:11else because all the sag after restrictions are insane. So yea. Even even
- 20:18when I pushed this to my my audio engineer, Nick, he said,
- 20:22it's a gray area, but since you're by your own you're probably fine.
- 20:26And I was like, wow, So even something tangentially, you know,
- 20:30connected to the project conceivably get me in trouble. I'm like, oh my
- 20:34god. All right. So yeah, so the the bonus chapter will be
- 20:38in PDF form and I'll also record it but it will just be like me
- 20:45narrating narrating here, you know, just and and you can just send it
- 20:48to me and I'll edit it and throw it up. So it's not it's
- 20:52not gonna be done by an audio engineer or any of that. It's just
- 20:55going to be just to keep it off of after his radar. I don't
- 20:59know. I'm giving you a verbal blow, Jock. I don't want it.
- 21:02I don't want to get in trouble. But I will read the chapter
- 21:03out. I will do voices as best I can, man, so I'll
- 21:07keep some weed for you as you can get me. Jamie's character pretty good.
- 21:11Hold on, give me a second, Okay, I gotta start narrating
- 21:17now, because by the time I get to Jamie's section, I will be
- 21:19plenty high. Had exposure to Jamie's character since I was what twelve wow?
- 21:25While yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm hearing it. You're exposed since
- 21:32you were twelve years old. I've been exposing myself to Aaron since I was
- 21:36twelve years It's exactly. I won't stop ever. I love that man too
- 21:44much. I know exactly what it's true. Oh my god, I do
- 21:49too, and I hate it especially the smelly Facy. Yeah, okay,
- 22:00sack to topics on a picture of the studio just before we were about to
- 22:03record The gate Leapers, Christ and Farley commented, awesome. Love it when
- 22:07these two shows come together. Hell yeah, man, Yeah, when we're
- 22:14on their show, when they're on our show, it's a blast. Honestly,
- 22:15we love it when we get guests in general. Yeah, it's just
- 22:19it's so much fun when there's more people sharing in it. Yes, and
- 22:22they have the like I said again, they have them play games with us.
- 22:26It's just a fucking riot of retime. I swear. The laughter is
- 22:29just it's it's so contagious. It is, it is. It doesn't matter
- 22:33who it is. It's always the same thing too. It's always like it's
- 22:37nervous at first, but once the first laugh happens, it's like floodgates just
- 22:41opens up. From Yeah. On episode two six, Rats Antiques and Aeroplanes,
- 22:48we have a comments that looks like whoa oh. David McGinn says,
- 22:52I was in on Breaking Bad and the Card from the start, but I
- 22:55was late to the party for bfy tw I'm glad I finally joined the party.
- 22:57That's cool, man, Hell yeah, and that's awesome to hear.
- 23:00I love the card Man, we love Breaking Bad, And like I said,
- 23:04we're we were through obviously breaking bed. We're almost we're watched a Camino
- 23:10and getting through better cold sall. We're about halfway right now, so we're
- 23:14trying to blush. Well not even halfway. We're only season two of the
- 23:17sixth seasons. God damn it. It's good. It just takes forever.
- 23:21It's good though, it's been good the entire time. David McGain, go
- 23:26ahead and read it. Stevie the sexual Trannosaurus versus Barney, don't lit don't
- 23:33letting your kids anywhere near the TV during this deviant Dinam show. Something's getting
- 23:37fucked and who wants the last one to tackle this one? This is gonna
- 23:42be fun. Colin Maggs left a epic comment, Oh god, okay,
- 23:48fuckers. So to make summers worse, you make them colder. So basically
- 23:51you make the ninety British summers. Is this you getting us Brits back?
- 23:55Because Crunchy kicked your arms is last time. And if I never hear Aaron
- 24:00say the sentence I'm squelchy, I can't. I'll be very happy I mean
- 24:07that was more disturbing than sex crazy Stevie love the episode, like the new
- 24:11rules to make it worse, though, I wouldn't mind a little dark humor
- 24:14sprinkled throughout it, maybe say after the second round, if the subject hasn't
- 24:18been topped, but still keeping the really bad shit band for example, Nazis
- 24:22et cetera. Love you, guys, Colin's awesome fair and I agree we
- 24:26can turn it up a notch. I think, yeah, I think if
- 24:30we go around the table twice, then the floodgates should open, but we
- 24:33should still keep them. You could say the damn has broken. Yes,
- 24:36yeah, like a cool catchphrase for that way when we sell it to Like,
- 24:40we're not selling our games the stuff to make millions, never mind,
- 24:42this is a show. I mean, I don't think anyone would blame us
- 24:48if we didn't. We can always come up with more games. Okay,
- 24:51sweet, we're gonna make millions, guys. I'm convinced we could do a
- 24:55good card game out of our shit. Hell yeah, we should do everything.
- 24:59We should do a car game, a board game, and a video
- 25:00game. All right, like that'd be cool. All let me get past
- 25:06the audiobook. I no, no, I have a lot of work on
- 25:11my play right now. We got the call it the Thing Saga is now
- 25:18called the Thaga. So after is complete, that's when we get into our
- 25:23like physical games. Oh yeah, you know what like cards and boards and
- 25:30video. No I don't that's fair, but yeah, just gonna move on.
- 25:37That was all of our comments on Matreon. Okay, Well that's that's
- 25:41sober and done with. Yeah, thank you so much everyone who pugged in
- 25:45with a comment. We really do. Yeah, and I hope you could
- 25:48hear our appreciation just now. So yeah, do you have anything else we
- 25:53want to go over? Does anyone else do anything fun this week? I
- 25:57could talk for a little bit. I could talk for a bit too.
- 26:00I've gotten back to work. I'm back at work season, so I've I'm
- 26:04a little bit busier. But in the meantime to kind of break up the
- 26:11monotony of going to work, coming home, going to bed, get up
- 26:15to it all over again, I've been playing Skyrim again. I well,
- 26:21I've been booted up two games. I booted up fall Out in New Vegas,
- 26:23and I'm going to get back to that when I when I do.
- 26:26But I've been booting up Skyrim again because I had an update not too long
- 26:30ago that basically allowed some Creation Club items to be part of the game itself
- 26:40now, so I added a lot of new stuff. I'm like, cool,
- 26:44might as well revisit it. And despite it being like their ninth federation
- 26:49of Skyrim, they still quite haven't gotten all the bugs and exploits out of
- 26:56the game yet. And usually, well, this time, I'm like,
- 27:00Okay, I'm not going to exploit the shit out of the game and do
- 27:04all that stuff. I'm gonna play the game, enjoy it, make it
- 27:07last as long as possible. And then a horse, without moving its leg,
- 27:12floating about fifty feet above the air, goes flying past my screen and
- 27:18disappears behind a mountain range. I went, oh, no, it's happening.
- 27:26The game has been in parts. The game has been slowly. It's
- 27:32small parts here and there, like falling apart and like glitching out, but
- 27:37not in a way that's breaking the game, but in a way that either
- 27:40makes the situation funny or benefits me greatly. So there's a quest you can
- 27:45get that get a really good blade called the Dawn Sword that is really good
- 27:49against undead and you're supposed to only get one of them, and for whatever
- 27:55reason, while I was playing it and through the fight, I'm like,
- 27:57oh, there is there. It is on the ground. I picked it
- 28:00up in the middle of a fight and then I beat the dude and I
- 28:03turned around, went to the pedestal interact with it, and it gave me
- 28:07another one, and I'm like, wait what the game gave me two of
- 28:11these blades. So now I'm just running around with two of them, just
- 28:15killing undead like freaking attack on Titan and then it just yeah, it's just
- 28:22been breaking on me. Like Dragon. I saw a dragon literally plummet the
- 28:26sky crash in front of me and just give me a dragon soul. It
- 28:30just fell out of the sky. I don't know what killed it. It
- 28:33just literally yeah, like as if the gravity just turned up to a million
- 28:37and just dud just landed. Uh yeah, just rear chill like that.
- 28:41And so I've been having fun with that. Well, yeah, Sky was
- 28:45a lot of fun. Yeah, I got to get back into I only
- 28:47have the VR version. I only have the standalone. I didn't realize it.
- 28:51I went to play the stand I wish I could play the VR version.
- 28:52I find I am super susceptible to motion sickness with VR. Yeah,
- 28:59I don't know why. I'm perfectly happy with the standard version, Like I
- 29:02just love it. I treat it like, you know, an FPS,
- 29:04but you know you use swords instead, you know. So I'm just like,
- 29:07you know, grolling around. And the thing I love about Skyrim is
- 29:11just how much there is to just explore. And the music just the music
- 29:15really really fits the game so well because it just it just fills you with
- 29:22that sort of that kind of it's a lonely atmosphere, but it's still very
- 29:26lively. It's still it feels very good. You feel you feel like you're
- 29:32doing something important, it feels it. Yeah, it's a lonely atmosphere,
- 29:37but you don't feel like the world is empty. No, no, it
- 29:41feels like it's filled. No. Yes, now magnify that by like a
- 29:45hundred, because everything's around you. Because I'm in the via V. Yeah,
- 29:48I spent what that first hour that game just walking like just in circles
- 29:53around this town like this is fucking There is a video. Yeah, there's
- 29:57a video on our YouTube channel that I post it up. It's like the
- 30:00only one I have because again, I got so sick and I couldn't make
- 30:03any more. It was like an episode zero of me playing Skyrim, and
- 30:08half the episode was me just in awe of my surrounding because it like it
- 30:14puts you in there, like it almost felt like you. Like the graphics
- 30:17obviously still game, but everything was just so. They did a good job.
- 30:23What's the word I'm looking for. It did a job over not overcoming,
- 30:27but like it just it was huge, like bigger than you would suspect
- 30:33even in a mousely keyboard. That mountain range looks huge even from far away,
- 30:38but when you're when it's right there in your face, it looks just
- 30:42super massive. Whatever the word for that is imposing, imposing. Yeah,
- 30:48yeah, that's as what I was thinking of. I like that. Yeah.
- 30:52No, I love Skyrim' so many never never finished the main quest,
- 30:56never No, I put four hundred hours into that came never finished quest.
- 31:02That's awesome. Yeah, there's so much to explore. There's all these little
- 31:06caves and shit, and just go dumpster diving. The gray Beards yelled for
- 31:08me to come to the mounta and I haven't. I'm basically learned so much,
- 31:12so many things, and like I think I got part way through the
- 31:18College of Mage's quest line. Uh, and then like the final bit like
- 31:22glitched out so I couldn't actually kill the final boss. Oh yeah, you
- 31:26couldn't even get into the room to fight them. So I'm like, oh,
- 31:30all right, I guess I'll just leave that hanging. Then just just
- 31:33went off that world ending events happening, just fucked off and did anything else.
- 31:37I was like, Okay, well, that's not the point of the
- 31:41game. Like the point of the game is to explore and have fun,
- 31:45and I do those things. Yeah, that's what I was worried about.
- 31:48I'm like, I know, like they just I don't know why they didn't
- 31:52bother fixing any of that shit. I think they left a lot of that
- 31:56stuff broken on purposes. They must have, because if it didn't like actually
- 32:00break the game and it made things funnier or more fun somehow, they probably
- 32:04just leave it in. Somebody's gonna laugh. Leave it. Listen, it's
- 32:07pie is floating around. It's positive entertainment value. It's true the end.
- 32:12Yeah, yeah, yeah, And Skyrim is more famous because of stuff like
- 32:15this, so that it's perfect sense to me. I'll give you that.
- 32:19That's fair anyway, shall we take another break and come back for part three.
- 32:22That sounds good, sir, ladies and gents. We will be back
- 32:23right after this. Interrupt this program to bring you a newsplash Michael Jackson's ghost
- 32:37scene out a Yankees game, Cinnamon Toast Crunch now with a shrimp in every
- 32:44bite. Lil Uzi Vert's head Diamond has been sold on the dark Web.

- 33:02Pod and we are proud members of the Odd Pods media Network. Hey man,
- 33:22welcome back. It's a chill show. We've just been talking about what's
- 33:27been up lately, and Augil was just talking about Skyrim. So that's that
- 33:30just kind of leads naturally into what I've been doing just the last couple of
- 33:34days. I don't know where I got into it. I think I was
- 33:37just looking for an excuse to play with my Steam deck, okay, because
- 33:40I realized, like I put like six hundred dollars into that thing and it's
- 33:44just been lying around. We went to Vegas and that was the last time.
- 33:46Yeah. Well that's the thing, like it's great for travel, Yeah,
- 33:50don't travel a lot. Actually, yeah, you didn't use it when
- 33:52we go to DC, did we? Uh No, not a lot,
- 33:55Yeah, not a lot. I brought it, but I think I just
- 34:00didn't use it a lot because we were doing MAGFest stuff. You know.
- 34:02I played with it a couple of times, and I definitely played with it
- 34:05on the trip up and down, so like I got some use out of
- 34:07it. But so I was looking for something to do, and I was
- 34:09like, oh, well, you know, I could play you know,
- 34:12this game, but it'll make the battery like drop real quick, and I
- 34:15don't want to sit plugged into it, and you know, yeah, yeah
- 34:17da. And I was like, what can I do? And I was
- 34:19like, oh, let's just emulation, why not? So I boot it
- 34:22up on a whim, this complete whim. I booted up uh Final Fantasy
- 34:27eighth, which is probably it's probably still my favorite Final Fantasy and I think
- 34:32we've talked about it on the show before. One of my favorite things about
- 34:37that game is how breakable it is. Squall yeah, no, no,
- 34:43no, I could give less than a shit about squall like the the you
- 34:47know, Final Fantasy seven was a big hit for a lot of people because
- 34:51they had, like, you know, the groundbreaking technology. It had the
- 34:52materials system, which people absolutely love, rightfully. So Final Fantasy eight is
- 34:59when they got weird. It like, we're not gonna we're not gonna make
- 35:04you know, the world ending Quest the focus. We're gonna make the romance
- 35:07between two main characters the focus instead and the the the world breaking Quest is
- 35:13kind of in the background, which is weird, but right not to mention.
- 35:17They're like, Okay, what if there's no more MP anymore? What
- 35:21if instead of requiring MP to cast spells, you have a stock of said
- 35:24spells up to one hundred, But you can also tie these spells to your
- 35:30stats to make them stronger. But the more of them you have, the
- 35:35stronger your stats are. So if you cast any of those spells, you
- 35:39are intentionally making yourself weaker. So you want to just collect a hundred of
- 35:45these spells and just hold them and just never cast them, just have them.
- 35:49That's it. The fuck. It's a wild fuck wow it but crazier
- 35:54than I remembers. As crazy as it sounds, it's also one of the
- 35:59reasons why it's so breakable. So let's talk about the cards, right,
- 36:02Okay, so the card so f Bate's got this mini game you can play,
- 36:07you can play with There's so many members of the NPCs that if you
- 36:10talk to them using X and they'll just say what they have to say,
- 36:14would you press the square button instead on PlayStation controller. You'll offer to play
- 36:19a game with them, and if they game, they will say, yeah,
- 36:21we'll play, and you can win cards off them or they can win
- 36:23them off. You gotta be careful about that before you play. Yeah,
- 36:28basically, but there's like over one hundred cards. I think there's something like
- 36:34one hundred and thirty different possible cards you can collect. Yep, there's an
- 36:37ability in the game called card mod and it basically allows you to take a
- 36:43card and transform it into an item. There's more abilities in the game that
- 36:47allow you to transform items into spells. So I think you might be able
- 36:52to see where I'm going with this. Oh God, it is ridiculously easy,
- 36:57especially in the early game, to get a hold of extreme powerful cards,
- 37:00turn them into extremely powerful items, and refine them into extremely powerful spells
- 37:07that you can then equip to your you can then equip to your stats to
- 37:10make yourself ridiculously powerful. Oh my god, So if you know what you're
- 37:15doing, you can literally get your strength like over a hundred before you leave
- 37:20the tutorial area. What the fuck? Ye? Yes, yeah, it's
- 37:24awesome. Broken, it's broken, it's broken, and it's awesome And I
- 37:31have an absolute blast playing this game now. Usually when I play it,
- 37:36I just skip to the good stuff basically, like I'll give myself a cheat
- 37:39code to give me all of the cards, which is even better because they
- 37:45they replenish, like you can't lose them. So if you if you hard
- 37:47mod them all away, just card mod another card and you'll have it back.
- 37:52Okay, he just instantly shows back up, even the ones that there's
- 37:54only one of in the game. You just grind it into whatever item you
- 37:58want to make, and then grind something else and then it's back again.
- 38:04So I would just use this to make a hundred of everything I could grind
- 38:07and then just max out all the spells. So I'm literally walking out of
- 38:10the tutorial area with five thousand hit points like my maxed out strength and vitality
- 38:17stats and just ready to just wreck everything shop and then from there you can
- 38:22basically like speed run the fucking game. Nothing, nothing can touch you until
- 38:27the final dungeon. Crazy. You literally just bomb rush your way through everything
- 38:30and you're just like just destroying bosses in like a single hit. Every time
- 38:36your rival shows up and talks ship. Yeah, I'm sorry, Seer.
- 38:40You remember that time when you slashed me in training? Yeah? I remember.
- 38:46Yeah, I'm about to slash your ass in the next week. Motherbucker.
- 38:51You belong in the same category as you, bitch, suck up my
- 38:54face, your face? Uh so? Yeah. So I genuinely enjoyed how
- 39:00breakable it was because it literally made me into an unstoppable powerhouse. I would
- 39:06just destroy everything, and I don't know, I I genuinely found like parts
- 39:12of the story like really touching, and so it stuck with me between the
- 39:15breakability and stuff about the story that I liked. Also, the explosion of
- 39:21the final boss at the end of the game is the most epic explosion.
- 39:25Yes, why, I don't know? Yes, everybody online, Okay,
- 39:30pause this again. No, you don't wait till you say what I'm gonna
- 39:32say. Get ready to podcast. Look up, you go to the one
- 39:37of the video sites I'm not gonna say it because they don't pay us,
- 39:38And then look up Bionic Commando's ending as cool as fuck? All right,
- 39:43go ahead, all right, but then you have to look up the the
- 39:46the final boss defeat or just just something that you well, I won't say
- 39:51it, but they don't pay us. Go to one of the video sites
- 39:54and be like, hey, man, uh, Final Fantasy eight, Final
- 39:59Boss eat or victory or whatever, uh, and you will watch the most
- 40:02ridiculous final boss explosion that I've ever seen anything. It goes on for what
- 40:07feels like over a couple of minutes. Really, every time you think she's
- 40:12done exploding, she explodes some more. Oh yeah, no, I'm sorry.
- 40:16I've only beat the game once and that was enough for me. But
- 40:22yeah, it is. It is wild. It is genuinely enjoyable, Like
- 40:24I enjoy the crap out of the fact that it takes. It just makes
- 40:29me smile. She's so dead, She's just beyond dead at this point.
- 40:31Stop like it's cruel. Yeah, Like, I know you guys hated her,
- 40:42but damn she was a villain, not a bad person. It genuinely
- 40:45felt like, you know, you kick your ass so hard that she's just
- 40:50just non stop exploding. I think that the director hated her at the end.
- 40:54It's great. I don't care. I love that ship. It makes
- 40:58me smile every single time. Not to mention, the Final Boss themes are
- 41:01epics. Yeah, the themes. Yeah, there's a lot of good music
- 41:06and Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy just got good music in general. Yeah.
- 41:08I remember I remember being a kid and playing the well not a kid,
- 41:12a teenager in college, but I remember playing like the first Final Fantasy games
- 41:15and thinking, Wow, it's almost sounds like an orchestra in there, you
- 41:21know. And I was like I check out like later on, like,
- 41:24uh, like the actual sound font that they used for Final Fantasy eight was
- 41:29meant to mimic an orchestra and it did a pretty damn good job for the
- 41:32time. Yeah. Like I listened to an actual, like orchestral like remix
- 41:37of the Final Fantasy eight music and I was like, holy shit, it's
- 41:40really closer than you would think. Yeah. Like, I was like,
- 41:44they did a damn good job of like orchestrating the instruments on the PlayStation to
- 41:47make that work like it was. I was impressed. Yeah, that technology
- 41:52bump at that time was huge. Yeah, it was nuts. So the
- 41:55PlayStation. The PlayStation change was massive. It was crazy. It's still three
- 42:00discs though, to play at four four. Oh yeah, four four for
- 42:05eight the game three was for seven. Seven. Yeah, you're right.
- 42:08Nine was just absolutely insane as well. Yeah. Nine. Nine was an
- 42:13actual challenge. Nine was like, okay, I did like nine. You
- 42:15guys enjoyed breaking the game, Now enjoy the game breaking you. Yeah.
- 42:21Nine is very hard. Yeah, it was a difficult game. Yeah.
- 42:24I've never played a Final Fantasy game. Wow. Wow, I never had
- 42:28a PlayStation until PlayStation four. I'm going to buy you a PlayStation. No,
- 42:32he needs a play I'm going to get you a PS one and I'm
- 42:36gonna get you like a small library game. Just have him played the First
- 42:38Final Fantasy. That's as close to D and D as you'll get. That's
- 42:42true. Actually, yeah, yeah, the First Final Fantasy. You could
- 42:45actually decide what your carriage's classes, prestige them and stuff, and yeah,
- 42:49you can use them and that might actually be fun. It is like I
- 42:52was never into those types of games. Enjoyed the first playing games and ship.
- 42:57Yeah, but I never got into the only downside that none of the
- 43:00characters have any personality of their own. But I mean, but it's literally
- 43:05the first final thing, so it doesn't need to exactly like look at Mega
- 43:08Man for your first one. Like Okay, all I know is what Doctor
- 43:12Light said at the beginning, and that's it, and I'm just going by
- 43:14that. The combat was good. Like the thing that I love about good
- 43:17final Fantasy games when they're done right, is like the combat is like a
- 43:21puzzle, Like you got to figure out how to take that boss down.
- 43:24It's not that he's too strong for you, it's that you have to figure
- 43:29out what, like you have to defeat this part of him first, and
- 43:31then you have to like cast sleep on this part of him so he doesn't
- 43:35react when you do this to the other part of him. Really tactical strategy.
- 43:37So some sometimes it is, Yeah, and like the first the first
- 43:42one is pretty gentle, but it's still got some good puzzly fights in there
- 43:45that aren't immediately obvious like oh, I should do this like round two or
- 43:49three, I'd noticed it type of thing. Yeah, Like like like by
- 43:52by the middle of the fight, you'd go, oh, I know how
- 43:54to take you down, Like all right, yeah, Yeah, that's that's
- 43:58a good feeling when you get that, you're this bitch is going down.
- 44:04That's fair, that's fair, I guess. Yeah. Final Final Fantasy one
- 44:07is the best for that. Final Fantasy two is if you want that,
- 44:09but also characters with a little bit more personality. Yeah yeah yeah. Final
- 44:14Fantasy two actually gave the characters personality, but you couldn't choose their classes anymore.
- 44:19They were still kind of it was still you could change things. You
- 44:22could you could make them because they they level up based according to how you
- 44:28use them. So you use them to attack, they would gain strength.
- 44:31If you cast spells, they would gain magic power. So the more the
- 44:36more you use the specific that with them, the more that part of them
- 44:38would level up, which would make sense and like because you're proficient. Yeah,
- 44:43it's it's kind of a real life experience. Wow, Sky remrules before
- 44:46it was Sky Yeah exactly. Yeah, Oh my god, exactly. Yeah.
- 44:50Final Fantasy two is full. Uh yeah, So I've just been enjoying
- 44:53the hell out of Final Fantasy Remastered. I bought the remastered version because it
- 44:57was on Steam for eight bucks. Oh shit, that's that's something that Yeah.
- 45:00I just spent twenty bucks on a twelve pack of I think I can
- 45:05manage eight dollars for a game that will give me many, many hours of
- 45:07enjoyment. So for sure, why not? Why not? Oh That's pretty
- 45:12much all I got for this week. That's what I've been doing, aside
- 45:15from keeping an eye on the Kickstarter and keeping the cast and character spotlights coming
- 45:20out. I'm glad you enjoyed yours, sir, Thank you. I love
- 45:23the pictures so good. I tried to pick good ones. There aren't a
- 45:28lot of pictures of just the two of us, you know, it's always
- 45:30like it's always like a group. And we lived together for multiple weeks.
- 45:34We did. We never took a picture. We took one picture that I
- 45:37found of just the two of us till to Actually I didn't post the other
- 45:42one would have been sillier. It was me licking your head. Oh my
- 45:45god. Yeah, but it was the same it was the same day,
- 45:47same day. Yeah, it was just it was just second picture. It
- 45:52was Tuesday. It was it was seconds apart, actually literally seconds apart.
- 45:55Yes. So yeah, So if you want go to out the Kickstarter for
- 46:00THINGE and what you're looking for is, I believe it's Cast and Character Spotlight
- 46:06Number five is Stevie and you'll enjoy that, and you'll enjoy the description of
- 46:10his character. I'm sure, Oh hell yeah, I definitely Dan. And
- 46:16I'm like, man, I'm gonna wind up pushing this fool to be an
- 46:19actor at some points, but I'm pretty sure you can do it. I
- 46:22know you find it. Like I said, I know you've done some actual
- 46:25voice acting before, so that'll help. I've done some minor stuff. Yeah,
- 46:30hopefully that was enough to get my muscles stretched for this jumping into like
- 46:35professional spotlight here for a little bit, like for ten fifteen minutes, and
- 46:38we'll see what happens. Yeah, I'm super excited. Man. I'm sure
- 46:45you're gonna be incredible. I have no doubt at all, and I'm looking
