Speaker 1: Good morning, Mafia. It's Saturday, October 3rd. This is the
• 0:11
Speaker 1: Morning Charge, your daily 10-minute or less Buffalo Bills news hit.
• 0:16
Speaker 1: I'm Aaron Quinn, here with Colin Ritchie, bringing you everything
• 0:18
Speaker 1: you need to know before you start your day. Let's
• 0:21
Speaker 1: get right into it. As a reminder, it's game day
• 0:25
Speaker 1: tomorrow and the Buffalo Bills are hosting the New England
• 0:27
Speaker 1: Patriots at Highmark Stadium with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
• 0:31
Speaker 1: Eastern on CBS. Looking at the conditions in Orchard Park
• 0:34
Speaker 1: for Sunday, we are in a classic October football mode.
• 0:38
Speaker 1: It'll be partly cloudy with a high near 68 degrees
• 0:40
Speaker 1: with virtually no chance of rain and manageable winds around
• 0:43
Speaker 1: 8 to 10 miles an hour. This is going to
• 0:45
Speaker 1: be an absolute peak football day. On the field, Bill
• 0:49
Speaker 1: Vinovich's crew will officiate. As Bills fans know, Vinovich's group
• 0:53
Speaker 1: has famously let him play officiating crew that consistently ranks
• 0:56
Speaker 1: near the bottom of the NFL in flags thrown per game.
• 1:00
Speaker 1: In Vegas, the Bills enter Sunday as a 6.5 point
• 1:03
Speaker 1: home favorite, with the over-under set at 48.5 points. New
• 1:08
Speaker 1: England holds the advantage in the all-time series with an
• 1:10
Speaker 1: 80-52-1 record across 133 total matchups, but the Bills have
• 1:12
Speaker 1: won 7 of the last 8. It's time for the
• 1:20
Speaker 1: final injury report before game day, and starting with the Bills,
• 1:23
Speaker 1: there are three players that are carrying official game statuses
• 1:26
Speaker 1: heading into Sunday. TJ Sanders is listed as doubtful with
• 1:29
Speaker 1: an illness as he continues working back from his appendectomy.
• 1:32
Speaker 1: Ray Davis is questionable with a hamstring, and Christian Benford
• 1:36
Speaker 1: is questionable with a toe injury. Looking at practice participation,
• 1:40
Speaker 1: Terrell Bernard was a DNP Friday, but that was just
• 1:43
Speaker 1: knee management and veteran rest. Limited participants included Keon Coleman
• 1:47
Speaker 1: with his ankle, Damar Hamlin with his ribs, and DJ
• 1:50
Speaker 1: Moore with his shoulder. None received a game status, meaning
• 1:53
Speaker 1: they could be good to go for Sunday. Now over
• 1:56
Speaker 1: to New England. The Patriots officially ruled out three players
• 1:59
Speaker 1: for Sunday. Cornerback Christian Gonzalez is out with a shoulder.
• 2:03
Speaker 1: Defensive tackle Christian Barmore is out with a shoulder. And
• 2:06
Speaker 1: safety Brendan Schooler is out with a back injury. This
• 2:09
Speaker 1: means New England is stepping into high mark without their
• 2:12
Speaker 1: premier shutdown corner and their most disruptive interior pass rusher.
• 2:15
Speaker 1: On top of that, they have six players listed as questionable.
• 2:18
Speaker 1: Former Bills fullback Reggie Gilliam with a knee, Draymond Jones
• 2:21
Speaker 1: with a shoulder, Christian Ellis with a chest, starting tackle
• 2:25
Speaker 1: Morgan Moses with a foot, Craig Woodson with a shoulder,
• 2:28
Speaker 1: and Channing Canada with a hamstring. Drake May was a
• 2:31
Speaker 1: full participant with a right shoulder injury and he carries
• 2:34
Speaker 1: no game status. Outside of official injury status updates, Joe
• 2:38
Speaker 1: Brady met with the media to close out the practice week.
• 2:41
Speaker 1: Here were some key takeaways from the head coach. Brady
• 2:44
Speaker 1: was asked how the coaching staff and medical staff determined
• 2:46
Speaker 1: whether a banged up player can play on Sunday. He
• 2:49
Speaker 1: stressed that every player's body responds differently to injury and recovery,
• 2:53
Speaker 1: noting how two guys with identical injuries can have two
• 2:55
Speaker 1: total different timelines. When pressed on who will make the
• 2:59
Speaker 1: final call, Brady made it clear that it's a unified
• 3:02
Speaker 1: decision among himself, Brandon Bean, the medical team, and the player,
• 3:05
Speaker 1: stating that he'll never put a guy on the field
• 3:07
Speaker 1: unless he feels like he's completely comfortable and prepared. With
• 3:11
Speaker 1: Christian Benford's status up in the air, Brady praised how
• 3:14
Speaker 1: Maxwell Harrison and Davidson Igbenosa handled this week. He pointed
• 3:17
Speaker 1: out that Buffalo's practice structure ensures that sub-package and depth
• 3:20
Speaker 1: players get meaningful high-volume reps every single week, alongside the starters.
• 3:25
Speaker 1: He noted that Skyler Bell was prepared to step in
• 3:27
Speaker 1: last week if Keon Coleman wasn't ready to go. So
• 3:30
Speaker 1: if Benford ultimately sits on Sunday, IGB and Max are
• 3:33
Speaker 1: fully prepped to step in without altering the scheme. With
• 3:37
Speaker 1: Jordan Hancock on IR and Benford banged up, Brady reiterated
• 3:41
Speaker 1: his total trust in the bottom of the roster, stating, quote,
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: if you're on our roster, there's a reason you're here.
• 3:47
Speaker 1: He highlighted to Corey's couch versatility coming up from the
• 3:49
Speaker 1: practice squad to deliver some special teams tackles while being
• 3:52
Speaker 1: able to play every defensive back position in a pinch,
• 3:55
Speaker 1: alongside D. Alfred's ability to play both inside and outside.
• 3:59
Speaker 1: Brady emphasized that cross-training secondary players at nickel, corner, and
• 4:02
Speaker 1: safety is a cornerstone of how the Bills are going
• 4:05
Speaker 1: to prepare for in-season attrition. When asked about the weight
• 4:09
Speaker 1: of the rivalry, Brady stuck strictly to his one-week-at-a-time mantra.
• 4:12
Speaker 1: Growing up in South Florida in an AFC East household,
• 4:15
Speaker 1: he respects the history, but warned that trying to make
• 4:17
Speaker 1: a rivalry game bigger than any other week is how
• 4:20
Speaker 1: teams fool themselves and lose focus. Brady praised Greg Dortch's
• 4:24
Speaker 1: impact after signing to the 53-man roster, calling him a, quote,
• 4:28
Speaker 1: game-changer in the return game. He noted that having Dortch
• 4:31
Speaker 1: alongside Ray Davis on kick returns gives Buffalo a dual-threat
• 4:34
Speaker 1: weapon that forces opposing special teams coordinators into tough decisions. Finally,
• 4:39
Speaker 1: Brady had high praise for the veteran captain tight end
• 4:42
Speaker 1: Dawson Knox, saying, quote, he's everything. He highlighted his selfless,
• 4:46
Speaker 1: dirty work plays that Knox makes that don't show up
• 4:49
Speaker 1: on stat sheets, and he noted how his presence as
• 4:51
Speaker 1: a vocal leader takes massive weight off Josh Allen's shoulder
• 4:54
Speaker 1: when adversity hits the offense.
• 4:57
Speaker 2: Stat of the day. Deion Walker has generated pressure on 15.4%
• 5:02
Speaker 2: of his pass rush attempts when double teamed, which leads
• 5:07
Speaker 2: the NFL to her next-gen stats. Other fun stats from
• 5:12
Speaker 2: the day, Greg Rousseau enters week four leading the NFL
• 5:16
Speaker 2: with his six sacks. This marks the first time a
• 5:19
Speaker 2: bill has held sole possession of the NFL sack lead
• 5:22
Speaker 2: through three weeks. It also marks the latest in a
• 5:25
Speaker 2: season a bill has held the NFL sack lead since
• 5:28
Speaker 2: Lorenzo Alexander led the NFL with 10 sacks in week
• 5:32
Speaker 2: nine of 2016. According to NextGenStats, cornerback Maxwell Hairston has
• 5:38
Speaker 2: allowed the second lowest completion percentage when in coverage this
• 5:42
Speaker 2: season at just 36.4%. He trails only Trent McDuffie from
• 5:47
Speaker 2: the Rams. Josh Allen is set to start his 147th
• 5:51
Speaker 2: career game. This includes the playoffs. On Sunday... He'll have
• 5:55
Speaker 2: a chance to join Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, and Tom
• 5:58
Speaker 2: Brady as the only QBs in NFL history to reach
• 6:02
Speaker 2: 100 career wins in their first nine seasons. Allen's current
• 6:05
Speaker 2: career record is 99-46. Allen also needs just one more
• 6:11
Speaker 2: rushing or technically receiving touchdown to become the franchise's all-time
• 6:15
Speaker 2: leader in scrimmage touchdowns. He's currently in a three-way tie
• 6:19
Speaker 2: for first place with Andre Reid and Thurman Thomas. With
• 6:23
Speaker 2: a win on Sunday, Joe Brady can become the second
• 6:26
Speaker 2: youngest coach in the Super Bowl era to begin his
• 6:29
Speaker 2: coaching career 4-0, trailing only Josh McDaniels. This Sunday's slate
• 6:35
Speaker 2: of games includes plenty of matchups for Bills fans to
• 6:38
Speaker 2: keep an eye on, and that starts with the first
• 6:41
Speaker 2: international game of the weekend, a 9.30am kickoff between the
• 6:45
Speaker 2: Colts and Commanders in London. The Jets take on the
• 6:48
Speaker 2: Bears at 1 o'clock. And also at that time, the
• 6:51
Speaker 2: Cowboys face the Texans. The Titans play the Ravens. And
• 6:54
Speaker 2: perhaps the matchup of the weekend, the 2-1 Jaguars take
• 6:58
Speaker 2: on the 2-1 Bengals. In the 4 o'clock window, the

Speaker 2: 0-3 Dolphins visit the 3-0 Vikings. A clash of two
