- 1:44Speaker 3: There's nothing else like it. And you can have yourself
- 1:48Speaker 3: one too. A lot of different options that they have
- 1:51Speaker 3: that on as well. Can't have mine though, can't have
- 1:54Speaker 3: the one I'm driving, Yes, they might not never get
- 1:57Speaker 3: that back. Real cocky over there, I'm feeling real good
- 2:02Speaker 3: about it.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Yeah, one teenager snapchat.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Dude, my kids want to ride with me, Like, hey, Dack,
- 2:09Speaker 3: can we take it to practice? You know exactly? NFL
- 2:14Speaker 3: nah l s U who cares black widow in news? Uh,
- 2:21Speaker 3: Team USA and we're going all the way.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Get it done.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Two to one over the Dominican Republic in an incredible,
- 2:32Speaker 3: incredible drama field tense moments from like the third inning
- 2:38Speaker 3: on Paul Skins goes out there, does exactly what you
- 2:42Speaker 3: need him to do. And look, it wasn't worth striking
- 2:44Speaker 3: people out.
- 2:45Speaker 4: It was just getting out.
- 2:47Speaker 3: He has one mistake and look they made them pay.
- 2:49Speaker 3: But still like every jam he gets in, he gets out.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Then you bring in the old submarine pitcher knuckles are
- 2:56Speaker 3: scraping the ground to get the double play ground ball,
- 3:00Speaker 3: I mean basically comes in. Was it like it was
- 3:03Speaker 3: two or three pitches, maybe three three pitches and there
- 3:09Speaker 3: was a runner? Was it a runner on second and third?
- 3:11Speaker 3: I believe no, he induced the double play?
- 3:15Speaker 4: That's right.
- 3:16Speaker 5: First maybe the first second I was. I was in
- 3:19Speaker 5: the kitchen like kind of cleaning up, put some dishes
- 3:22Speaker 5: away because we just got back and Hut screams at
- 3:25Speaker 5: me from the other room.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Say this what is this pitcher doing? Why is he
- 3:31Speaker 4: bending over like that? He had never seen it.
- 3:33Speaker 6: He never seen that.
- 3:34Speaker 3: No the time, no members had never seen it either,
- 3:37Speaker 3: because the same situation's like, Dad, what's this guy's deal.
- 3:40Speaker 3: I was like, well, he's a submarine pitcher. He's like,
- 3:42Speaker 3: what's that mean? And I was like, well, because he's like,
- 3:46Speaker 3: you know, because like his delivery, it's like, that's what
- 3:48Speaker 3: they call it. And then we started talking about torpedoes.
- 3:52Speaker 3: He's like, wait, I thought torpedo was a bat. I
- 3:53Speaker 3: was like, good memory, that was all the rage last year,
- 3:56Speaker 3: torpedo bats. I was like, well, torpedoes like an underwater missile.
- 3:59Speaker 3: And they got a whole conversation. But yeah, same thing.
- 4:01Speaker 3: He's like, what's this guy doing? You know, got into
- 4:03Speaker 3: war talk sort of like the show very much.
- 4:08Speaker 4: So also USA. Yeah, so it was fun. I explained
- 4:14Speaker 4: to him, like the you know, it's a change up.
- 4:16Speaker 5: You just saw like the best picture in the world
- 4:17Speaker 5: come out throwing traditionally just throwing gas and movement, and
- 4:20Speaker 5: all of a sudden you got to get an out.
- 4:22Speaker 5: You need one guy. You're throwing this crazy pitching fella
- 4:26Speaker 5: and it works and do some double play. I mean
- 4:30Speaker 5: the whole game though, I mean we talked about it
- 4:32Speaker 5: in the first segment. It was a movie script of
- 4:37Speaker 5: a baseball game, the World Baseball Championship or Classic whatever.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Uh.
- 4:44Speaker 5: It felt like a Game seven here in March, and
- 4:47Speaker 5: you have the best of the best. You you roll
- 4:49Speaker 5: out and had all the storylines leading up to the game,
- 4:52Speaker 5: of course, with the best picture in the world, playing
- 4:55Speaker 5: the hottest lineup and full of all stars and just
- 4:58Speaker 5: absolutely destroying people all the way up to that point.
- 5:01Speaker 5: And Paul Skins didn't have his best outing in the world,
- 5:04Speaker 5: I think pitched foreign four and a third, but he
- 5:08Speaker 5: did what he had to do. Limited that limited that
- 5:10Speaker 5: line up to just one run. Made that one mistake
- 5:14Speaker 5: to Junior Camenaro.
- 5:15Speaker 4: He hung it. He cranked it too, so a mistake
- 5:20Speaker 4: that you don't normally see Paul Skins made. But it's funny.
- 5:22Speaker 3: As good as he released it, you could, like they
- 5:24Speaker 3: show the back angle of it. He could see as
- 5:27Speaker 3: soon as he released it he said something we can't
- 5:29Speaker 3: see here.
- 5:30Speaker 5: He knew it, yep, But you got you know this guy,
- 5:34Speaker 5: Paul Skans that God just it's like the most likable
- 5:39Speaker 5: dude in the world.
- 5:39Speaker 4: If you're from America because he's patriotic. He's really damn good.
- 5:46Speaker 4: He's young and god.
- 5:48Speaker 3: He just I don't know, he just the the emotions
- 5:51Speaker 3: coming from him, like this whole that's the most emotion
- 5:53Speaker 3: you'll see from Paul Skans and it's.
- 5:56Speaker 4: Not a lot.
- 5:56Speaker 6: I don't even think I saw this much. When like
- 5:58Speaker 6: they won the College World Series.
- 6:00Speaker 4: No, and and somebody.
- 6:03Speaker 3: One of our other baseball coaches for ministers team made
- 6:07Speaker 3: a great point. He's like, and before the broadcast made
- 6:10Speaker 3: the point because they made it afterwards, he was like,
- 6:13Speaker 3: this is by far the biggest moment Paul Skeins has
- 6:18Speaker 3: pitched it since the College World Series. Yeah, he's like,
- 6:21Speaker 3: not even close. He's like, I was like, Dade, I
- 6:23Speaker 3: don't even think about that. Like there hasn't been like,
- 6:25Speaker 3: you know, certainly not a postseason game, but there's not
- 6:28Speaker 3: been a game like for the Pirates that mattered at
- 6:31Speaker 3: all for him to pay so like it's been three
- 6:34Speaker 3: years since he's probably had those kind of not nerves
- 6:37Speaker 3: because I'm he's like a robot in the best way possible.
- 6:40Speaker 3: I'm not sure he gets nervous, but juice is flowing.
- 6:43Speaker 3: He han'd had that in three years and to be
- 6:45Speaker 3: able to stay composed right. And he didn't have a walk.
- 6:50Speaker 3: I think he hit a batter, but he didn't have
- 6:51Speaker 3: a walk. That's very impressive to not overthrow. And Smoltz
- 6:55Speaker 3: was talking about on the broadcast. He goes there, one
- 6:57Speaker 3: of the best parts about this guy is he doesn't overthrow.
- 7:00Speaker 3: He goes ninety nine, and those guys typically overthrow get
- 7:04Speaker 3: in trouble. He's like, no, he stays in the moment
- 7:07Speaker 3: the entire Smoltz, the guy calling the game, John Smoltz,
- 7:11Speaker 3: was one of them.
- 7:11Speaker 5: Yeah, okay, so I'm pretty much watching the game yesterday
- 7:14Speaker 5: and everything, you know, good, great vibes, skins, and then
- 7:18Speaker 5: all of nowhere, Smoltz comes on and saying basically said,
- 7:21Speaker 5: I hope he.
- 7:21Speaker 4: Never gets Tommy seans. Did you hear that? Yeah, He's like,
- 7:24Speaker 4: I hope he never gets injured. Defies the odds. And
- 7:26Speaker 4: I'm like, why did you even say that? Yeah he did.
- 7:28Speaker 3: He's like, I hope he defides out. He's a guys
- 7:30Speaker 3: like him with how hard he throws. And but I
- 7:33Speaker 3: will say this, he doesn't look like he's like I
- 7:35Speaker 3: just about to say small boys. I know, I know,
- 7:37Speaker 3: smallt He doesn't call a lot of Pirates games because
- 7:39Speaker 3: he's like he calls national games.
- 7:40Speaker 4: And I'm not trying to try to say Pirates game.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Pirates are no national you know, they're not a national
- 7:45Speaker 3: televised team ever. But the things that make Paul Skeins
- 7:51Speaker 3: who he is is he doesn't overthrow, and his mechanics
- 7:54Speaker 3: are incredibly said, it's not herky jerky, it's not gimmicky
- 7:57Speaker 3: like everything. And then also the press work that he does,
- 8:02Speaker 3: like you ask Jay and we can ask Jay on
- 8:04Speaker 3: Thursday when he joins us, Like the things he does
- 8:07Speaker 3: is like to get ready for one start, like you
- 8:10Speaker 3: don't see anybody do and you certainly don't see one
- 8:13Speaker 3: of the best pitchers on the planet do it.
- 8:15Speaker 7: Well, it's what we talk about all the time when
- 8:16Speaker 7: it's like, oh, pitchcown, pitchcown, pitch cownt. It all leads
- 8:19Speaker 7: to this injury and that injury that sees it all
- 8:22Speaker 7: the time in football, though, like not every quarterback has
- 8:24Speaker 7: the same throwing motion, not every pitcher does. Like when
- 8:27Speaker 7: you watch Paul, he's got a thick lower body, like
- 8:29Speaker 7: he uses his whole body to throw, so it's not
- 8:31Speaker 7: that much stress on his arm.
- 8:32Speaker 4: Yeah, it doesn't. I mean, he certainly whipped.
- 8:35Speaker 6: I was gonna say he's not, like he's pretty whippy,
- 8:38Speaker 6: but like he just has the most beautiful mechanics I've
- 8:40Speaker 6: ever seen in my life.
- 8:41Speaker 4: You have to be whippy to throw it that hard. Yeah,
- 8:43Speaker 4: Like that's that's the only way.
- 8:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but there's there's different versions of that too.
- 8:46Speaker 4: He's all armed, That's what I'm saying, Like he uses
- 8:49Speaker 4: legs and the other the other benefit he has he
- 8:51Speaker 4: didn't pitch until how many years in his first year
- 8:55Speaker 4: in college, right full time, full time.
- 8:58Speaker 5: He pitched full time until he got to Let shoot,
- 9:00Speaker 5: what I'm saying like, so he doesn't have I mean,
- 9:01Speaker 5: I wouldn't think that. I don't know the whole backstory,
- 9:04Speaker 5: but I don't think he has the wear and tear.
- 9:06Speaker 5: I know you're saying travel ball pitching forever.
- 9:12Speaker 3: So Skens goes four and a third, gives up six hits,
- 9:14Speaker 3: one run, two strikeouts. But then Rogers comes in we
- 9:19Speaker 3: talked about it, gets a double play, and then Jacks
- 9:23Speaker 3: comes in. He has a clean inning, and then Bednar, Whitlock,
- 9:27Speaker 3: and Miller each have two strikeouts in their innings and
- 9:34Speaker 3: gave up two hits but he shut him down and
- 9:36Speaker 3: he he like he became a bulldog there at the end.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Mason Miller's just Miller's awesome, Like like he kept throwing
- 9:43Speaker 3: a slider and I get it because he's got it.
- 9:45Speaker 3: I was like, dude, you're one hundred and I was like,
- 9:48Speaker 3: I promise you even if they're sitting on it. I
- 9:51Speaker 3: was like, you can tell at this point in the
- 9:53Speaker 3: game they're not catching out to that dude, that last batter,
- 9:57Speaker 3: he's just like one o two one, and then to
- 10:00Speaker 3: a slider is a little low, but you got the call.
- 10:02Speaker 4: Who cares? Go Team America. That's the thing that I
- 10:05Speaker 4: wonder about, Like the whole system they have, what's the
- 10:09Speaker 4: what's the system they don't have in the World Baseball
- 10:10Speaker 4: class I know, but what is it? A A zone
- 10:12Speaker 4: you talking about?
- 10:13Speaker 5: Like, yeah, so they have to of course, got the
- 10:15Speaker 5: square the right tangle there it calls so that pitch
- 10:18Speaker 5: drops so hard, so fast, and got y'all get it.
- 10:21Speaker 5: I'm a novice baseball guy. When it crossed the plate,
- 10:25Speaker 5: it was in the zone. Yeah, But of course when
- 10:27Speaker 5: it lands and it marks on the thing, it's it
- 10:30Speaker 5: looks I'll say I'll say this about that. Now, Will Smith,
- 10:32Speaker 5: the American catcher, got called on a bad pitch too.
- 10:35Speaker 5: They call it was full count and they struck him
- 10:37Speaker 5: out as inches off the plate.
- 10:40Speaker 4: Okay, so that happens.
- 10:41Speaker 3: I'll say this in that scenario, and of course like
- 10:44Speaker 3: you may, yeah, of course you're rooting for USA full
- 10:47Speaker 3: count that situation, the tying run ninety feet away. You
- 10:51Speaker 3: can't take that pitch, yeah you can. You can't leave
- 10:54Speaker 3: it up to the I can't. Like that's every level
- 10:56Speaker 3: of baseball, like nine and you baseball, like you'll teach
- 11:00Speaker 3: in that moment that pitch, that club got to fight
- 11:03Speaker 3: it off or something.
- 11:04Speaker 4: You can't take it. You can't leave it up to
- 11:06Speaker 4: the umpire.
- 11:06Speaker 3: So they don't have the on the world base they
- 11:09Speaker 3: don't have the challenge. I didn't think so the first
- 11:12Speaker 3: the first name for Venezuela, this helmet.
- 11:16Speaker 6: They're like, no, no, we don't, we're not doing that actually,
- 11:19Speaker 6: but no, like Mason Miller is elite, Like with the Athletics,
- 11:22Speaker 6: he might have been like the best player on the
- 11:25Speaker 6: Athletics period.
- 11:26Speaker 4: But that's why they shift him out.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Yeah, the pirates. You know this, But like when a
- 11:35Speaker 3: player gets good, really good, we typically.
- 11:38Speaker 6: Move him right, So Padre has got themselves a good one.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Though he was he was outstanding, like one or two
- 11:45Speaker 3: is fun to watch. But I think I think a
- 11:49Speaker 3: lot of people, a lot of baseball fans know.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Who he is.
- 11:53Speaker 3: Garrett Whitlock probably introduced himself to a lot of baseball
- 11:57Speaker 3: fans last night.
- 11:59Speaker 4: He's a reliever from the Red Sox.
- 12:01Speaker 3: Yeah, he was filthy in the eighth inning, like it's
- 12:05Speaker 3: not one o two but it's ninety four, with some
- 12:07Speaker 3: crazy movement and he had like a whole arsenal ready
- 12:11Speaker 3: to go. Like I knew who he was a little
- 12:14Speaker 3: bit because I'm attle hand up here, and you know,
- 12:16Speaker 3: I watch a lot of baseball. I was like, yeah,
- 12:19Speaker 3: good good picture for the Red Sox. I was not
- 12:21Speaker 3: familiar with his game.
- 12:22Speaker 4: Yeah, oh my god.
- 12:23Speaker 3: When Smulty said when he came in before he threw
- 12:26Speaker 3: a pitch, Smoltsk goes, oh, this guy's nasty, And I'm like,
- 12:29Speaker 3: all right, if he's saying that, I'm gonna lock it
- 12:33Speaker 3: on this guy, because like Smalt Sudden just like give
- 12:35Speaker 3: away those compliments like that.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Oh boy, was he right?
- 12:38Speaker 7: He's seen a smolt Slow's a thing or two about
- 12:41Speaker 7: good picture too.
- 12:41Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 12:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm a little incredible starter end closer in his
- 12:45Speaker 3: MLB career.
- 12:46Speaker 5: I mean, you had this lineup for the Dominican Republic
- 12:48Speaker 5: that was absolutely load. It's just like Americans but.
- 12:54Speaker 3: He I mean, but like there's just like ours is
- 12:57Speaker 3: really really really good, but there's just there's is like generational.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Yeah, there's a generation.
- 13:02Speaker 6: And they were tas like what.
- 13:06Speaker 4: What are we talking about? And they were also on fire.
- 13:09Speaker 4: Yeah yeah.
- 13:10Speaker 6: My dad sent me the lineup before and he's like,
- 13:12Speaker 6: that's a nasty lineup and I was like, and he's
- 13:15Speaker 6: going to strike out each and every single one of.
- 13:17Speaker 7: Them, like has thirty home runs last year, I think
- 13:21Speaker 7: faced the Monstars by itself and just dominated them.
- 13:26Speaker 3: And then Machado Just think about just.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Think about all the arms and the different angles, speeds
- 13:33Speaker 5: and movement that that lineup had as good as they are. Yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 5: like America pitched their absolute face off and to hold
- 13:41Speaker 5: that lineup as hot as they were as big of
- 13:44Speaker 5: a like, you had multiple guys on the Dominican Republic
- 13:46Speaker 5: team saying I'd rather win this than win a World Series. Yeah,
- 13:50Speaker 5: Like so it meant it means a lot to every
- 13:53Speaker 5: single one that you can tell like to see big
- 13:55Speaker 5: leaguers the best in the world and running like sprinting
- 14:01Speaker 5: out of the batter's box, Like this just something you're
- 14:03Speaker 5: not going to get in March, April, May, June of
- 14:06Speaker 5: Major League Baseball like consistently, right, you get it from
- 14:09Speaker 5: the best players in the world. But everybody, like at
- 14:12Speaker 5: Game seven atmosphere, just absolutely awesome, especially for stitch ads
- 14:17Speaker 5: like me.
- 14:18Speaker 6: Right now, the World Baseball Classic is so fun and
- 14:21Speaker 6: it's just like this is why it needs to be
- 14:23Speaker 6: back in the Olympics. People take it to another level.
- 14:27Speaker 3: Yeah, the World Baseball Classic is like a qualifier for
- 14:30Speaker 3: the Olympics. Yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 7: Well, it reminds me a lot of the Four Nation's
- 14:33Speaker 7: face off last year that we watch with the hockey teams.
- 14:35Speaker 7: It's like you don't expect like the best in the world,
- 14:39Speaker 7: you know, to like get get this fired up about it.
- 14:41Speaker 7: But like we talked about it, think about all the
- 14:42Speaker 7: fights between US and Canada. Think about this game schemes
- 14:45Speaker 7: versus this lineup, Like we need more of this in
- 14:48Speaker 7: every sport.
- 14:49Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I say it all the time.
- 14:52Speaker 3: It sucks because God Mighty Ducks maybe want to play
- 14:56Speaker 3: for Team USA in some way, some capacity. And we
- 14:58Speaker 3: played the one sport you go professional in that you
- 15:02Speaker 3: got no chance to play for your country unless it's flag.
- 15:04Speaker 5: But it's a different sport. I thought about fullbacks don't
- 15:07Speaker 5: really thrive in flag either. I thought about trying to
- 15:09Speaker 5: get get qualified for the US Olympic team. After our
- 15:12Speaker 5: coaches game this past fall, I got faith and did
- 15:15Speaker 5: you send in the tape?
- 15:17Speaker 4: Me too? You gotta take the lens cap off. Yeah.
- 15:20Speaker 5: I thought about, Like you know, I was riding that
- 15:21Speaker 5: high right after the game, but then I got that
- 15:23Speaker 5: soreness set in the next day.
- 15:25Speaker 3: I'll tell you what y'all know me. I don't give
- 15:28Speaker 3: Matt many compliments because he doesn't deserve him. But he
- 15:32Speaker 3: was spinning it out there. I didn't know he still
- 15:35Speaker 3: had it. I didn't know he still had it left
- 15:37Speaker 3: in him. He's spinning it. We're spinning it.
- 15:39Speaker 4: We spent it. There's a pitch count. He threw me.
- 15:43Speaker 3: He threw me a touchdown the back of the end
- 15:44Speaker 3: ZONE'M like, hey, Bud, chill out.
- 15:46Speaker 7: You can do you can do the flag football, Matt.
- 15:49Speaker 7: You see you see how like they do it competitively.
- 15:52Speaker 7: See most of them are sure.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Who's that basketball player this doing it h Rondo, Yeah yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 4: and again like can do.
- 16:00Speaker 7: It because they do a lot of the short passes
- 16:03Speaker 7: and he did that in basketball.
- 16:04Speaker 4: He's kind of just flicking it. Should we get you
- 16:06Speaker 4: ready for the Olympics? We should? I know, Like isn't
- 16:10Speaker 4: like funny?
- 16:10Speaker 3: Like every year at the Super Bowl the flag football
- 16:13Speaker 3: director like goes in like the you know, the car wash,
- 16:16Speaker 3: And I've interviewed him every year. I mean, hey, I
- 16:19Speaker 3: got a guy, got a guy. He'll be forty one
- 16:21Speaker 3: in June, but.
- 16:23Speaker 4: He still got it.
- 16:24Speaker 3: He's got a solid mustache in a solid arm, and
- 16:28Speaker 3: he's ready to work.
- 16:30Speaker 4: And he loves America.
- 16:33Speaker 7: Like who's gonna Who's gonna Who's gonna fight Morner than Matt.
- 16:36Speaker 7: Matt's always locked into any sport where America's competing, no.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Doubt, they don't absolutely locked in who's.
- 16:43Speaker 7: Gonna throw their body across the line, Like you know one.
- 16:46Speaker 4: I'll take some Higherlinic acid for the team throw back
- 16:52Speaker 4: Joe yep if you know, you know to tell you
- 17:00Speaker 4: how bad LSU men's basketball was this year.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Oh boy, we haven't talked about the NCAA tournament, but
- 17:07Speaker 3: when we come back, the team that actually made it
- 17:10Speaker 3: kim Moulki squad will tell you where they landed, who
- 17:13Speaker 3: they're going to be hosting here in Baton Rouge, and
- 17:16Speaker 3: what their path to a final four looks like. And
- 17:19Speaker 3: we'll do that when we jump back here on o TV.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 17:25Speaker 4: All right, you go to Central Plumbing.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Dot org if you want to stop plumbing shop, not
- 17:30Speaker 3: only in central though entire greater Baton Rouge area.

- 17:36Speaker 3: zero seven seven to four.

- 17:39Speaker 3: It is a new number two two five five zero
- 17:41Speaker 3: zero zero seven seven four twenty four seven three sixty.
- 17:45Speaker 4: Five week in game day holiday. It does not matter.
- 17:48Speaker 4: They will be there for you.

- 17:56Speaker 3: Central Plumbing dot org.
- 17:57Speaker 5: Oh, Central Plumbing, Central Plumbing dot Org. It doesn't matter
- 18:00Speaker 5: if it's a commercial job, residential job. If it's a
- 18:03Speaker 5: small little fix, maybe you're a toilet's running, or maybe
- 18:06Speaker 5: they have to come and reinstall gas. It doesn't matter
- 18:09Speaker 5: to the size of the project. It doesn't matter the
- 18:10Speaker 5: complexity of it. Central Plumbing. They've been doing it a
- 18:13Speaker 5: long long time and they are the absolute experts when
- 18:16Speaker 5: it comes to all of your plumbing needs, gas lines,
- 18:18Speaker 5: water lines, So it does not matter. Like I said,
- 18:21Speaker 5: I've done it. They've worked for me both at my
- 18:23Speaker 5: house and my commercial site. They can do it all
- 18:26Speaker 5: and they are the expert. Central Plumbing dot Org.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Looking around the house, head behind the window.
- 18:53Speaker 8: And the door off the bench with Jacob Hester and
- 18:57Speaker 8: mathline presented by by you Automotive.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Well maybe I'm just too sure, or maybe I'm just
- 19:13Speaker 2: too fright by the sound and pieces of no fall down.
- 19:19Speaker 6: But that is said.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Good shout out to it better than us, col Hero.
- 19:47Speaker 3: All right, before we get to the women's bracket, when
- 19:50Speaker 3: to talk about our friends over at Aushner. As we know,
- 19:52Speaker 3: March is cool and Cancer Awareness month. We've been talking
- 19:54Speaker 3: about it over the last couple of weeks. It's always
- 19:57Speaker 3: a good reminder that cool and cancer is one of
- 19:58Speaker 3: the most common cancers. But but it's also one of
- 20:01Speaker 3: the most preventable when called early, so screening can actually
- 20:04Speaker 3: find small growth before they ever turn into cancer, which
- 20:08Speaker 3: is why doctors recommend all adults getting screened at age
- 20:13Speaker 3: forty five. Now, if you have a family history, obviously
- 20:15Speaker 3: that kind of changes that math a little bit.
- 20:17Speaker 4: But screening is very very important.
- 20:20Speaker 3: So if you see any symptoms, if you you know,
- 20:23Speaker 3: have a family history, and even if it's going back
- 20:26Speaker 3: a couple of generations, it's a smart thing to go
- 20:28Speaker 3: ahead and get that screening. The Kolnospy is still the
- 20:31Speaker 3: best screening tool, but for some people they are also
- 20:34Speaker 3: simple at home tests that may be an option for you.
- 20:38Speaker 4: So the key is talking with your doctor.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Having a relationship with primary care provider helps make sure
- 20:43Speaker 3: that you're getting the right screenings at the right time.
- 20:46Speaker 3: So schedule an appointment today and you can do that
- 20:49Speaker 3: at oshner dot org slash schedule. Oshner dot org slash
- 20:53Speaker 3: schedule are through the my Oshner app All right, let's
- 20:59Speaker 3: talk about it. The LSU women's basketball team in March Madness,
- 21:04Speaker 3: they are going to be hosting basketball here in Baton Rouge.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Yet again, they get a two seed.
- 21:09Speaker 3: So, just like coach Mulkey told us last week, the
- 21:13Speaker 3: best starting position that they've had since she's been at LSU,
- 21:17Speaker 3: and they've had some very deep runs, including a national championship.
- 21:21Speaker 3: Already here at LSU. Now they are going to be
- 21:23Speaker 3: in a very difficult bracket. The Regional two. Sacramento the
- 21:28Speaker 3: one seed is ucla very good basketball team. Ole mess
- 21:33Speaker 3: is a five seed, certainly a very good basketball team.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Minnesota as a four is a good basketball team. You
- 21:39Speaker 3: got Duke as the three, LSU as the two. Now
- 21:42Speaker 3: for LSU in Baton Rouge, it's going to be LSU Jacksonville,
- 21:46Speaker 3: who's the number fifteen seed. That's who LSU is going
- 21:49Speaker 3: to be facing off in the first game coming up
- 21:51Speaker 3: on the twentieth. LSU's a fifty one and a half
- 21:55Speaker 3: point favorite, but I gave a fifty one and a
- 21:58Speaker 3: half point favorite in that game. Then Texas Real, that's real,
- 22:03Speaker 3: Texas Texas seventh seed. Villanova is the ten seed, so
- 22:07Speaker 3: they'll also be in Baton Rouge. And so if you
- 22:09Speaker 3: get past Jacksonville, which we assume you are going to
- 22:12Speaker 3: being a fifty one and a half point favorite, you
- 22:14Speaker 3: will face the winner of Texas Tech and Villanova. But look,
- 22:18Speaker 3: it's not an easy road. I'm not going to sugarcoat
- 22:20Speaker 3: it for you. A lot of people say this is
- 22:22Speaker 3: by far the toughest regional. All right, so Regional two Sacramento.
- 22:27Speaker 3: They do it different. They don't do East Southwest like
- 22:30Speaker 3: the men's they do different regionals. You've got Regional one
- 22:33Speaker 3: in Fort Worth, You've got Regional three in Fort Worth,
- 22:36Speaker 3: and then two and four in Sacramento. So you would
- 22:42Speaker 3: pair up with in the final four if you do
- 22:45Speaker 3: make it that far with Regional three Fort Worth, which
- 22:49Speaker 3: Texas is the one seed there, Michigan is the two seed,
- 22:53Speaker 3: Louisville is the three seed, and then.
- 22:54Speaker 4: West Virginia is the four seed.
- 22:57Speaker 3: So look, not saying that it's easy by any means,
- 23:01Speaker 3: but it's never going to be when you're talking about
- 23:05Speaker 3: women's basketball, because we talked about it last week, there's
- 23:08Speaker 3: like fifteen teams that you know are going to be
- 23:10Speaker 3: incredibly solid. There's not going to be a lot of upsets.
- 23:14Speaker 3: It's not like the men's bracket, like the good team's
- 23:17Speaker 3: ninety nine point nine percent of the time when in
- 23:20Speaker 3: women's basketball. So if you do, in fact get to
- 23:23Speaker 3: a Sweet sixteen, I fully expect that you'll be facing
- 23:26Speaker 3: off against the Duke Blue Devils. Now, a great storyline
- 23:34Speaker 3: would be if the sixth seed Taylor Bears found a
- 23:39Speaker 3: way to get into the Sweet sixteen against LSU for
- 23:43Speaker 3: the obvious reasons.
- 23:45Speaker 5: Yeah, that would be there'd be some eyeballs on that
- 23:48Speaker 5: for sure. But of course the women's bracket it's so
- 23:52Speaker 5: top heavy for a reason. Just like you said, there's
- 23:55Speaker 5: not as many upsets, so you would fully expect them to.
- 23:57Speaker 5: The Baylor storyline would be awesome, and there's obviously would
- 24:01Speaker 5: be a chance there, but probably going to be Duke
- 24:04Speaker 5: and then the winner of that game taken on UCLA.
- 24:07Speaker 4: So look, they're very good. They have the talent to
- 24:14Speaker 4: do it, they just haven't been able to put it
- 24:16Speaker 4: together against well of course, like South Carolina of course,
- 24:20Speaker 4: but you beat another number one seed, you beat Texas
- 24:24Speaker 4: this year, so the talent's there. They can do it.
- 24:27Speaker 4: They just got to make a run. They got to
- 24:28Speaker 4: figure they got to figure out how to win.
- 24:30Speaker 5: And like, look, they just played and got some experience
- 24:32Speaker 5: played in elimination games and that's a good thing to
- 24:35Speaker 5: go through and to do and do.
- 24:37Speaker 4: And they lost. So it's if anybody can kind of
- 24:42Speaker 4: guide you through those learning curves and and take the
- 24:46Speaker 4: positives out of losses like that, it would be kim Olki.
- 24:49Speaker 4: So you know, I trust that.
- 24:50Speaker 5: I think it's gonna be absolutely fantastic watching watching LSU
- 24:55Speaker 5: and maybe they can make a run of this thing.
- 24:56Speaker 4: Of course, it's a tough bracket. Got to go through
- 24:59Speaker 4: Duke intentionally Baylor, and then you got to go to
- 25:01Speaker 4: the UCLA. Yeah, it looks completely different than Regional four
- 25:04Speaker 4: in Sacramento.
- 25:09Speaker 1: That is.
- 25:14Speaker 3: South Carolina the one seed. You've got Iowa as the
- 25:18Speaker 3: two seed. You got TCU as the three seed in Oklahoma,
- 25:22Speaker 3: who LSU beat by four touchdowns as the four seed.
- 25:29Speaker 4: So fifty one and a half point favorite.
- 25:37Speaker 7: Having South Carolina on the opposite side of the bracket,
- 25:41Speaker 7: that's what you want, right because look, LSU has been
- 25:44Speaker 7: great under Kim Mookie. That's the one hurdle you have
- 25:46Speaker 7: not yet been able to get over. Even when you
- 25:48Speaker 7: win the Natty, people talk about, Okay, well you played
- 25:50Speaker 7: Caitlin Clark and Iowa. They upset South Carolina, But would
- 25:53Speaker 7: that game have looked like without them? So having them
- 25:55Speaker 7: on the other side with a chance to potentially face
- 25:58Speaker 7: that team in the National Championship, keep your eyes out
- 26:02Speaker 7: for that potential matchup.
- 26:03Speaker 5: Yeah, if you can get out of your your bracket
- 26:06Speaker 5: and you play and play a Texas potentially played Texas team,
- 26:09Speaker 5: that you split with and then you know what.
- 26:13Speaker 4: O the uniforms out there see what happens.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Of course, Yukon being the other one seed in the tournament,
- 26:19Speaker 3: so Texas, South Carolina, Yukon, U C, l A all
- 26:23Speaker 3: the number one seeds. For the two seeds, it's Vanderbilt,
- 26:26Speaker 3: it's LSU, it's Iowa, and it is Michigan. So I
- 26:30Speaker 3: would be surprised with South Carolina and that drawl if
- 26:34Speaker 3: they don't they don't make a run to the final four.
- 26:38Speaker 3: I could make an argument for they got the easiest
- 26:43Speaker 3: two seed, one of the easiest three seeds. And then
- 26:48Speaker 3: Oklahoma is one of those teams, like I don't want
- 26:49Speaker 3: to diminish, like when they're really good, they can beat anybody.
- 26:53Speaker 3: But we saw LSU beat them like the way they
- 26:56Speaker 3: did in the SEC tournament.
- 26:57Speaker 4: So it's brackets rigged. You're just thinking it.
- 27:06Speaker 3: All right, we'll take a break and when we come back,
- 27:08Speaker 3: we're gonna have Connor O Gera to join us to
- 27:11Speaker 3: talk a little SEC spring football gilt a preview. Not
- 27:14Speaker 3: only are the Tigers but across the league. And we'll
- 27:17Speaker 3: do that right here when we jump back on OTVP
- 27:21Speaker 3: the bench, all right, when it's time to kick back
- 27:28Speaker 3: and enjoy the game. Make sure you've got the right
- 27:30Speaker 3: beer in your hand, and that is do seki. So,
- 27:33Speaker 3: whether you're watching the big matchup, grilling with friends, oh
- 27:37Speaker 3: just inwinding after a very long day, do sekies delivers
- 27:40Speaker 3: that Chris refreshing taste that always hits the spot. They
- 27:43Speaker 3: got the smooth lagger, the rich amber, whatever your style is,
- 27:47Speaker 3: it's always a perfect fit for game day.
- 27:49Speaker 4: And do sekis.
- 27:51Speaker 3: So the next time you're stocking the cooler for the weekend,
- 27:53Speaker 3: or you're heading to a watch party to watch a
- 27:56Speaker 3: little midweek baseball, make sure do sekis is in the lineup,
- 28:00Speaker 3: and not only in the line up there hitting lead
- 28:01Speaker 3: off in the lineup and as one says, clean up
- 28:04Speaker 3: and every spot in the lineup, doseekei. Stay thirsty, my friends,
- 28:08Speaker 3: and always enjoy responsible.
- 28:10Speaker 4: That's right.
- 28:11Speaker 5: If you want to be like the most entering interesting
- 28:13Speaker 5: man of the world, you want to drink do seci.
- 28:15Speaker 5: Stay thirsty, my friend. And if you're gonna do it,
- 28:17Speaker 5: make sure that you're gonna drink beer, do it responsibly.
- 28:20Speaker 5: But when you're gonna do it, do with the best.
- 28:21Speaker 5: Go for dose with dose.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Skis, don't messy. She loves me. Maybe you would understand
- 28:33Speaker 4: why up to the sway hello and what I must
- 28:40Speaker 4: do if you kid don't see.
- 28:47Speaker 9: Her eyes can be when.
- 28:49Speaker 1: She says.
- 28:53Speaker 4: When she says, she loves me.
- 28:57Speaker 8: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Nashville, presented by
- 29:01Speaker 8: Buy You Automotive.
- 29:08Speaker 4: All right, welcome back yan O TV.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Here live from the Raizy Knes studio. Of course, our
- 29:12Speaker 3: Monday show is brought to you by by You Automotive.
- 29:14Speaker 3: Go to their website today, that is by you Automotive
- 29:17Speaker 3: dot com. All right, we got former LSU pitcher Will
- 29:21Speaker 3: Helmer's in here in studio as he is every single
- 29:24Speaker 3: Monday with us. All right, Well, I'm gonna start by
- 29:27Speaker 3: asking the same question that I asked the rest of.
- 29:29Speaker 4: The roomn't here for that.
- 29:32Speaker 3: Do you feel better, worse or the same about LSU
- 29:36Speaker 3: baseball after their trip to Nashville this weekend?
- 29:41Speaker 4: I feel better? Okay, first I should you said worse
- 29:49Speaker 4: the same thing I said. I feel the same about them. Yeah,
- 29:53Speaker 4: I feel better about it.
- 29:55Speaker 9: I mean, okay, you look at it from a you
- 29:57Speaker 9: gotta look at it from a positive lens. You know
- 30:00Speaker 9: they're blown save away from being a win in an
- 30:04Speaker 9: unaway series in the SEC in their first one, and
- 30:07Speaker 9: you know, obviously it didn't happen, and you give you
- 30:10Speaker 9: go back to back double digit walks Friday Saturday, which
- 30:14Speaker 9: hasn't happened since twenty seventeen in LSU baseball.
- 30:17Speaker 4: But hey, twenty seventeen was a good team.
- 30:20Speaker 9: Look at it like that at the same time, but
- 30:24Speaker 9: you look, you gotta look at it positively.
- 30:25Speaker 4: They come back on that Sunday and just you know,
- 30:28Speaker 4: they they ball out. You know, that's they just do
- 30:31Speaker 4: their thing.
- 30:32Speaker 9: And they didn't pitch great on Sunday, but the bats,
- 30:35Speaker 9: you know, tour it up and on the Friday thing.
- 30:38Speaker 9: You can't give up that many runs in the SEC.
- 30:40Speaker 9: You can't give up twenty four runs and two games
- 30:43Speaker 9: in the SEC and expect to be okay. And the
- 30:46Speaker 9: pitching is obviously what people are kind of worried about
- 30:49Speaker 9: right now. Look, the bats came alive and the Saturday game,
- 30:53Speaker 9: look their starter, Tip your cap and to him, he
- 30:56Speaker 9: was just awesome, you know, And sometimes you have to
- 30:58Speaker 9: do that in baseball, and that's why baseball so unique.
- 31:01Speaker 9: Sometimes you just have to be like, hey man, this
- 31:02Speaker 9: dude just got the best of us today. We couldn't
- 31:05Speaker 9: do anything about it. We just got to go out
- 31:06Speaker 9: there and get tougher tomorrow.
- 31:08Speaker 3: I feel like they had a high on Friday, a
- 31:10Speaker 3: lot of energy, and then that's you know, when you
- 31:12Speaker 3: that happens, you get walked off after you come back
- 31:15Speaker 3: a lot of energy using kind of a little dead
- 31:18Speaker 3: on Saturday. But credit to them for finding that juice
- 31:20Speaker 3: again on Sunday.
- 31:21Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, finding the juice.
- 31:23Speaker 9: And look, when things get tough like that, you just
- 31:25Speaker 9: got to get tougher, you know, as a team and
- 31:28Speaker 9: as an individual player. It's just part of the game.
- 31:31Speaker 9: Like that's why baseball is so cool. Like, look, a
- 31:35Speaker 9: couple of pitches away from being two and one in
- 31:37Speaker 9: the SEC and everybody's like, man sell a shoot team.
- 31:39Speaker 9: And then all of a sudden, now it's like man
- 31:41Speaker 9: sell a shoot team. Right, you know, it's two different
- 31:44Speaker 9: you know, scenarios. But you know, I think that I'm
- 31:48Speaker 9: a little more positive about it than them losing you know,
- 31:50Speaker 9: midweek game and the dropping a series to Sacramento State.
- 31:54Speaker 4: Like this is a building block for them, for sure.
- 31:58Speaker 4: I know I'm gonna be careful.
- 32:00Speaker 5: I asked this question because I was talking about caseon
- 32:02Speaker 5: Evans earlier in the show and my thoughts on what
- 32:07Speaker 5: I've seen so far. But let me ask you like
- 32:09Speaker 5: an indirect question, because I know you know you want
- 32:12Speaker 5: to you want to speak positive absolutely in your experience,
- 32:17Speaker 5: what you've seen, what you've been around. Is there ever
- 32:20Speaker 5: an expiration date on an experiment when it comes to
- 32:23Speaker 5: thinking a guy is going to work out as a starter?
- 32:25Speaker 9: Great question? Yes, you how rare from Monday? A great question,
- 32:32Speaker 9: but uh yeah, absolutely, And I think you know there's
- 32:38Speaker 9: some people that probably saw that coming from what he
- 32:40Speaker 9: did and look at it's a bad performance. You know,
- 32:44Speaker 9: we we all know that, and I can tell you
- 32:46Speaker 9: he knows that too, and he feels that just as
- 32:49Speaker 9: much as the rest of it.
- 32:51Speaker 4: Exactly. He's just he's a competitor, that's what he is.
- 32:54Speaker 9: And I think you know, this is just a total
- 32:58Speaker 9: opinion thought, like, as you see this LUE season go,
- 33:01Speaker 9: you may see Cooper Moore Friday, Schmid Saturday, and nobody Sunday, right,
- 33:07Speaker 9: And you've seen that a ton from LSU Baseball is
- 33:09Speaker 9: not having that Sunday guy. And maybe you find a
- 33:12Speaker 9: thing where Cason Evans is that that Griffin Herring who
- 33:15Speaker 9: comes in and throws four out of the pen like
- 33:17Speaker 9: he did all last year.
- 33:18Speaker 4: That's where he's comfortable. We know he's got the stuff.
- 33:20Speaker 9: We know he's got the competitive nature to go out
- 33:23Speaker 9: there and be a pretty awesome bullpen guy. I don't
- 33:26Speaker 9: think Cason's a starter just from you know, and I've
- 33:29Speaker 9: thought that for a while. He could be a great starter,
- 33:32Speaker 9: But I think he's better serf coming out of the
- 33:34Speaker 9: pen with He's got a bulldog mentality.
- 33:36Speaker 4: He's high energy.
- 33:38Speaker 9: When he comes out of the pen in a big situation,
- 33:40Speaker 9: and that's just going to be better serve to his
- 33:43Speaker 9: his pitching, the way he goes about his business. So
- 33:45Speaker 9: I think that you might see that. You know, they
- 33:47Speaker 9: may give him another chance this weekend. If it doesn't
- 33:49Speaker 9: pan out, then they move move, start moving guys around.
- 33:52Speaker 5: Let me ask you this, is there more nerves starting
- 33:55Speaker 5: a Friday night than starting a Saturday or Sunday Because
- 33:58Speaker 5: it's a few it's like an unknown, it's an no minder.
- 34:00Speaker 5: At least Saturday Sunday you've had a chance to watch.
- 34:02Speaker 4: Correct.
- 34:03Speaker 9: Yeah, it's it's totally different. I never started a Friday game.
- 34:07Speaker 9: I only started, you know, Saturday Sunday. But starting a
- 34:10Speaker 9: Friday night game is like, you're the guy. Everybody knows
- 34:14Speaker 9: you're the guy, and if you don't perform all it's
- 34:16Speaker 9: all on you.
- 34:17Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, for him to go out there
- 34:19Speaker 4: and you know you walk you know six, and it's
- 34:22Speaker 4: just not the performance you want sucks.
- 34:24Speaker 9: But you know he's he's gonna get back on the
- 34:26Speaker 9: horse and who knows, maybe he comes out, you know,
- 34:28Speaker 9: next weekend and it's totally different. And like you said,
- 34:31Speaker 9: like not being able to see that lineup, you know
- 34:34Speaker 9: as a Saturday started on a Sunday starter Sunday started
- 34:37Speaker 9: seeing the lineup three times. If he's paying attention, he
- 34:39Speaker 9: knows how to get guys out Saturday.
- 34:42Speaker 4: Same thing.
- 34:42Speaker 9: You've seen that lineup and so to not see that
- 34:45Speaker 9: lineup and it be fresh in your face coming at
- 34:47Speaker 9: you is a different story for a Friday game.
- 34:49Speaker 3: Look, if he's your guy that comes in when you
- 34:51Speaker 3: have a lead and shuts the door like here again,
- 34:54Speaker 3: I know he's great in that, right, We've seen him.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Do it on a National Champion. Times.
- 34:58Speaker 3: You get a lead on a Friday night or Saturday
- 35:00Speaker 3: and that guy comes in and the it can be
- 35:02Speaker 3: the fifth inning he shuts the door. That's a great
- 35:05Speaker 3: role to have on an SEC team as exactly.
- 35:07Speaker 9: And that's and for him, like I think he's best suited.
- 35:10Speaker 9: That's where he's gonna get drafted. That's where his statistics
- 35:14Speaker 9: are going to line up the best with how he pitches.
- 35:17Speaker 3: Uh, the top of the lineup too, Like they came back,
- 35:21Speaker 3: So Milon Brown carry out like that was really good,
- 35:24Speaker 3: Yes for him?
- 35:25Speaker 4: And Jay Brown is just like in fuego right now,
- 35:27Speaker 4: I mean all weekend long for him.
- 35:29Speaker 9: Yeah, And even the top of that lineup always on base.
- 35:32Speaker 9: But that middle, you know, and and bottom is like
- 35:36Speaker 9: we got to get some guys.
- 35:37Speaker 4: They're going to find somebody. Somebody has to step up
- 35:39Speaker 4: in that middle of the bottom of the lineup. Yeah,
- 35:43Speaker 4: they're going to find somebody in there.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Like Aaron Beady had a good day yesterday, but you know.
- 35:47Speaker 4: It's hasn't been all season long. Yeah, you're looking at
- 35:50Speaker 4: it all right.
- 35:54Speaker 3: So you've got a series coming up with with Oklahoma
- 35:57Speaker 3: this weekend, so we look forward to that.
- 35:59Speaker 4: What we got going on in Louisiana loaded for that job, man,

- 36:08Speaker 4: But that was awesome.
- 36:09Speaker 9: Did a little road trip over there. Stopped at Darryl's

- 36:45Speaker 9: willing to tell me I'm wrong.

- 38:23Speaker 3: Our next guests are got Connor. O Garrett, host of
- 38:26Speaker 3: The OG Kickoff, joins us now and talk a little
- 38:29Speaker 3: sec spring football.
- 38:31Speaker 4: Connor, what's going on, brother?
- 38:31Speaker 10: How we doing, gentlemen hanging in there?
- 38:34Speaker 4: How you guys doing doing fantastic?
- 38:36Speaker 3: Have you come down from the high of your Indian
- 38:38Speaker 3: Hoosiers winning the national championship.
- 38:41Speaker 10: A little bit? That's that's for personal reasons.
- 38:45Speaker 4: We want to go there.
- 38:46Speaker 10: But yeah, look it's it's still surreal.
- 38:49Speaker 11: And as I'm sitting here, we're less than twenty four
- 38:52Speaker 11: hours removed from Indiana being left out of the tournament field.
- 38:57Speaker 10: So it's a weird time.
- 38:59Speaker 11: Like I'm texting with my Georgia buddies this morning, and
- 39:02Speaker 11: one of the things that they were talking about was
- 39:04Speaker 11: Georgia getting into the NCAA Tournament and Georgia can't win
- 39:08Speaker 11: a playoff game, and yet I you as this team
- 39:11Speaker 11: that for whatever reason can't get into the NCAA Tournament
- 39:13Speaker 11: is winning a national championship in football.
- 39:16Speaker 10: None of this makes sense in the year of Our
- 39:17Speaker 10: Lord twenty twenty six.
- 39:19Speaker 3: That's fair, that is completely fair. But they cannot take
- 39:22Speaker 3: that title away from Indiana and it will certainly be
- 39:24Speaker 3: there forever. All right, Connor, I want to have you
- 39:27Speaker 3: on today talk a little sec spring football. The team
- 39:31Speaker 3: that you're most intrigued by going into the spring, for
- 39:34Speaker 3: whatever reason, it could be good, bad, and different whatever,
- 39:37Speaker 3: the team that you are looking forward to seeing or
- 39:40Speaker 3: hearing practice reports, seeing some clips, whatever.
- 39:43Speaker 4: It might be.
- 39:44Speaker 10: LSU where am I saying that?
- 39:47Speaker 11: Of course, I do think there's a lot of intrigue
- 39:51Speaker 11: with everything that Lank Kiffin is trying to do year one,
- 39:54Speaker 11: and I think that there is an expectation that is
- 39:57Speaker 11: unlike any other year one coach in the se. See,
- 40:00Speaker 11: there are six new coaches in this conference, and it's
- 40:03Speaker 11: very unique talking about the roster because when you turn
- 40:06Speaker 11: over half of the roster like that, you are now
- 40:10Speaker 11: talking about a team that can have a new identity
- 40:12Speaker 11: year one, What does it look like with this ground
- 40:14Speaker 11: attack that was able to retain those running backs, but
- 40:17Speaker 11: you still have questions about what it's going to look
- 40:19Speaker 11: like schematically, do they have the offensive line to be
- 40:22Speaker 11: able to kind of pave the way? And I'm looking
- 40:24Speaker 11: at LSU now going well, they should be preseason top
- 40:27Speaker 11: ten every single.
- 40:28Speaker 10: Year with Lane Kiffen. That's the way that this works.
- 40:30Speaker 11: What's it going to look like with Sam Levitt knowing
- 40:32Speaker 11: that you're not going to get him in spring ball
- 40:34Speaker 11: and there are gonna be a lot of questions about
- 40:36Speaker 11: this team, But yeah, Lane is going to only probably
- 40:39Speaker 11: shine a spotlight.
- 40:40Speaker 10: Even bigger on his program.
- 40:42Speaker 11: I couldn't keep up with what he was doing over
- 40:45Speaker 11: the weekend playing hoops with the Cavender Twins, talking about
- 40:48Speaker 11: Carson Beck.
- 40:49Speaker 10: Like Lane just always is going to bring a spotlight
- 40:51Speaker 10: to baton Rouge.
- 40:52Speaker 4: Connor, what's up, brother, Hey, I got a question for you.
- 40:55Speaker 5: Have you ever seen a player in the history of
- 40:58Speaker 5: college athletics so or college football certainly that wants to
- 41:03Speaker 5: go to the NFL less than Trinidad Chambliss.
- 41:06Speaker 10: No, look, no, yeah, and he for whatever reason, he's like, no,
- 41:12Speaker 10: I want to stay here. I want to stay here
- 41:14Speaker 10: as long as I possibly can.
- 41:16Speaker 11: There is certainly a conversation that's been had about Trinidad
- 41:20Speaker 11: Chambliss with NFL people. I don't think that he is
- 41:23Speaker 11: just looking at his situation going, well, you know what,
- 41:26Speaker 11: I just came from Division two. I am only good
- 41:30Speaker 11: enough to be at this level. I think that he's
- 41:33Speaker 11: had those conversations behind the scenes, but I do think
- 41:36Speaker 11: this is all about interntal belief and Matt, you know this,
- 41:40Speaker 11: if you have a sliver of doubt that you can
- 41:43Speaker 11: be that guy in the NFL, you're not ready. And
- 41:47Speaker 11: he would be drafted as a round one guy or
- 41:49Speaker 11: an early round two guy, wherein that clock is going
- 41:52Speaker 11: to be limited.
- 41:52Speaker 3: He's not going to have some.
- 41:53Speaker 11: Three year runway at where he could be drafted and
- 41:56Speaker 11: you could say, yes, the quarterback class is way deeper
- 41:59Speaker 11: next year than it is this year. Maybe financially speaking,
- 42:01Speaker 11: it wasn't the best decision, but he clearly feels like
- 42:05Speaker 11: he has work to do as someone that obviously came
- 42:08Speaker 11: from the Division two level, was at Division two at
- 42:10Speaker 11: this time last year and probably thought that's what's going
- 42:12Speaker 11: to be his path, and I'm looking forward to seeing him.
- 42:15Speaker 10: I think he's the best returning quarterback in college football.
- 42:17Speaker 11: I think he is that dude, and I'm looking forward
- 42:19Speaker 11: to seeing what he can do after doing whatever he
- 42:22Speaker 11: could possibly do to stay in college football extra year.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Connor, which team in the SEC do you think actually
- 42:28Speaker 3: has the most work to do of the teams that
- 42:31Speaker 3: were at the top or near the top just last year.
- 42:35Speaker 11: Let's talk about Texas here, because Texas is the team
- 42:38Speaker 11: that is going to get a lot of preseason buzz
- 42:40Speaker 11: and the Cam Coleman addition certainly splashy. They get Leak
- 42:43Speaker 11: Brown coming over from Arizona State. That's one thousand yard
- 42:47Speaker 11: rusher at the power conference level.
- 42:48Speaker 10: That's not nothing. But Texas is going to get a
- 42:50Speaker 10: lot of love because of arch Manning. What else is new?
- 42:53Speaker 11: I have questions about this defense. Will mus Champ was
- 42:57Speaker 11: a bold move from Steve Sarkisian. He moved on from
- 43:00Speaker 11: one of the best defensive coordinators in the country in
- 43:03Speaker 11: Pete kwiat Kowski, and he essentially said, I need a
- 43:06Speaker 11: head coach of the defense now.
- 43:08Speaker 10: They have a lot of turnover.
- 43:09Speaker 11: You're going to see these names that are coming off
- 43:11Speaker 11: the board on the Texas side for the NFL Draft.
- 43:13Speaker 11: They are going to make you go dang. They were
- 43:15Speaker 11: so talented. I thought they were going to be the
- 43:16Speaker 11: best defense in college football last year. That didn't prove
- 43:19Speaker 11: to be the case. But Texas is going to be
- 43:20Speaker 11: the team that I'm looking at going wait a minute,
- 43:22Speaker 11: are they going to have to win all these games
- 43:24Speaker 11: with shootouts? Are they really going to have a good
- 43:26Speaker 11: year one defense with Will mus Champ, who, by the way,
- 43:29Speaker 11: has not had total autonomy on the defensive side of
- 43:31Speaker 11: the ball since he was at South Carolina in twenty twenty.
- 43:34Speaker 11: And I do wonder if there is going to be
- 43:36Speaker 11: an element of man like they really need to win
- 43:40Speaker 11: all these games with shootouts to make them, you know,
- 43:43Speaker 11: perhaps not as viable of an elite contender as maybe
- 43:46Speaker 11: they're made out to be. But I think Texas is
- 43:48Speaker 11: one of those teams that is just loaded with intrigue.
- 43:51Speaker 4: At the top.
- 43:53Speaker 5: Connor Alabama has to replace, of course, probably going to
- 43:56Speaker 5: be the second quarterback taking and Tye Simpson this week
- 44:00Speaker 5: and I pulled a really nice Kilon Russell sports card.
- 44:03Speaker 4: Is this a hold or a self?
- 44:05Speaker 10: It's a hole?
- 44:06Speaker 11: Look, we did a draft of the top ten. Well, okay,
- 44:11Speaker 11: so let me phrase this the right way. We did
- 44:13Speaker 11: a draft on bog Kickoff of quarterbacks that we would
- 44:17Speaker 11: want for twenty twenty six, and that draft is essentially
- 44:22Speaker 11: who do you think is going to be considered one
- 44:23Speaker 11: of the best players in the country by season's end.
- 44:26Speaker 11: So surroundings are really big with that. I almost drafted.
- 44:29Speaker 10: Kielan Russell, and I think that he is in a spot.
- 44:33Speaker 11: Where people will question him because he's not necessarily the
- 44:36Speaker 11: most experienced guy in that system. Austin Mack is entering
- 44:39Speaker 11: year four in that offense, even though Austin Mack won't
- 44:41Speaker 11: even turn twenty years old until June, which is just baffling.
- 44:45Speaker 11: I don't know how that's possible. But Kilan Russell comes
- 44:48Speaker 11: in as the decorated guy who was on the cover
- 44:50Speaker 11: of Men's Health, and he is the one that I
- 44:53Speaker 11: think this coaching staff believes is Michael Pennix. Now he's
- 44:57Speaker 11: doing so in a different way as a right hand
- 45:00Speaker 11: and thrower, but I think he's the guy that's going
- 45:02Speaker 11: to get the keys to this offense, and I do
- 45:05Speaker 11: think that there is a sense that he can be
- 45:08Speaker 11: the difference maker. All these questions we have about Alabama
- 45:11Speaker 11: after their worst running game ever that they've ever had
- 45:15Speaker 11: in this offensive line that's got all these new pieces.
- 45:17Speaker 11: If you get a dude with Keilan Russell, it changes everything.
- 45:22Speaker 10: I think he's going to be that dude.
- 45:23Speaker 3: All right, Connor, we've got about a minute left, and
- 45:26Speaker 3: I lest some time here for you to answer this
- 45:28Speaker 3: question the player for LSU in spring, since Sam Levitt's
- 45:33Speaker 3: not going to be able to be a full participant
- 45:35Speaker 3: in practice, that you're most looking forward.
- 45:38Speaker 11: To seeing land and Clark coming over from the FCS.
- 45:42Speaker 11: All right, Okay, look, I'm not saying he's going to
- 45:45Speaker 11: be turning that Chambliss. I am saying do not sleep
- 45:48Speaker 11: on his potential emergence because I know you get the
- 45:50Speaker 11: fives to form or five start coming over from USC,
- 45:52Speaker 11: and everybody's talking about what Sam Levitt's going to do
- 45:55Speaker 11: in this offense. It would be just kind of peak
- 45:58Speaker 11: Lane Kiffen if all of a sudden, Landing Clark emerged. Okay,
- 46:01Speaker 11: sub six footer, I'm here for the I have. You're
- 46:04Speaker 11: talking about like buying stock.
- 46:05Speaker 4: Like player sal mah, like that.
