- 1:06SPEAKER_00: So here's a question.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Have you ever held up an hourglass and looked at it closely?
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: Now, from a distance, the sand looks like kind of a single element that can snake through the bottleneck between the top and the bottom of that hourglass.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: But upon closer inspection, you can see that it's just thousands and thousands of tiny grains.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Did you know that the average adult lives around 27,000 days?
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: Now that may seem like a lot, but if you're a middle-aged person like I am, half of those days, or maybe even more than half, are already gone.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: Every day you live is another day that's spent.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: Every week, another seven days is gone, and of course, every year takes away yet another 365 days.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: You're spending one of your days right now.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: The clock never stops because it's always running.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: Here's a question I want you to think about.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Are you using this day well?
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Tomorrow morning when you wake up, will you look back on today and will you be proud of how you used that time?
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: The reality for all of us is that our time on earth is limited.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: And if you don't write today, that's one less day you have to make those writing dreams a reality.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: The truth is that there's no time like the present.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: We only have today.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: And just like grains of sand that are going through that hourglass, our days are slowly slipping through our fingers.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: We only have so many, so don't wait to write that book or write that blog post or write that email or text message that you've been putting off.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: Tomorrow is not promised.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Here's today's challenge for you.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Are you using your time today with an awareness that you will never get this day back?
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: Definitely something to think about.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: Now, one thing before I wrap up this episode that I want to mention quickly is that, you know, a lot of people, they have we all have different kinds of writing dreams, and a lot of people have dreamed for years and years of writing a novel or writing a story, or they've got these content or these ideas, but they don't know how to get it organized.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: They don't know what to do with that content.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: And one of the ways that you can get started on making sense of that content, particularly if it's story-based, is using a really cool tool called Plotter.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Now you may have heard me talk about Plotter before.
- 3:19SPEAKER_00: It is the number one visual book planning software for writers that helps you plan books in the same way that you think.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Plotter has a really cool intuitive visual interface that lets plotting be the creative process that it's supposed to be.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: It's a great tool not just for fiction authors, but also for nonfiction authors, for podcasters, speakers, and anybody creating content who wants to organize their material and their story points.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: I'm currently using Plotter to work on my very first fiction book, and I'm really excited about it.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: So if you're ready to outline faster, get organized, and save loads of time when you're writing, go to plotter.com to start your free 14 day trial.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: That's P L O T T R dot com and start your free 14 day trial.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: All right, my friend, as always, thanks for listening, and I'll see you on the flip side.
