- 0:00suck at Microsoft welcome to multiple
- 0:05nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and
- 0:10Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All
- 0:15Things nerdy so they we discussed last week how
- 0:22they bringing the new rules about how you can't get the achievements in 5
- 0:25minutes I've just played three games that have come out the last three weeks
- 0:28since they've introduced the r that I got the CHS in a few minutes so oh
- 0:33they're not enforcing it yet were the games approved before
- 0:38probably probably they probably were I got an achievement yesterday uh that was
- 0:44run away from three hippos but we can talk about that later um but like one of the
- 0:50achievements like so I've got a game called Zombie Driver 2 sounds good it's
- 0:55it's not a bad game it's like I like car games I like zombie games it sounds good
- 0:59sounds fine yeah but remember like H Climber game like you just drive a car
- 1:03and you got to get the fuel to get far it's that are you a zombie driving or
- 1:08you driving a zombie you're no you're a you're driving a car running over
- 1:12zombies shooting zombies okay got but actually it's a bit of a fun game you're
- 1:18an Uber driver a zombie has booked you
- 1:23about the problem about it though it's quite a fun little game and but you can
- 1:28get every single achievement on the first level oh right right it's just
- 1:33complete a level with three stars do a couple of flips hit a bird and just like
- 1:39all fully up come then come back and play the game but that that's all You' hit a bir
- 1:45in real life you have few birs do you remember when we were kids
- 1:52it was perfectly acceptable to call women Birds cuz I remember once like I
- 1:57know what you're going to say who's who who her name was we just called her bird
- 2:01and that's what she answered to I thought you were going to say it was
- 2:04never okay we just did it anyway which which I would have also accepted but I
- 2:08remember once um my dad was on the phone and he came in I was who was that he's
- 2:11like I just some bird from work and I'm like what but what what I think what was sort
- 2:17of a bit funny about it at the time when we're saying Birds girls weren't talking
- 2:21to us oh yeah talking them not to them yeah had pants with them maybe that was
- 2:27part of the problem any birds want to go out with me
- 2:31weird actually maybe they would have if I'd asked but I always thought I
- 2:34couldn't get dates it's just that I never asked anyone out yeah yeah any you birds out
- 2:38me don't understand what you're saying speak English speak
- 2:44English uh uh my friend was playing
- 2:49snowrunner which is a game oh yes that's a that's a driving game yes he brought
- 2:55his lapt trivia and he was playing it at trivia yeah it's actually like a a truck
- 3:00driving game you're a truck and you got to change GE I saw that yeah yeah but
- 3:05truck simulator snow it looks it's on Game Pass it looked quite interesting
- 3:09but he he he was off exploring the middle of nowhere flipped his current
- 3:13truck over and then was like oh now I have to go and get it and I was like
- 3:17what he had to go back take another truck to retrieve his truck the other
- 3:23one over I mean that is what you would do in real life I suppose yeah yeah is
- 3:30it it's a game that you need to commit time to it's not a casual game I'm going
- 3:34to or anything he brought it to trivia to play That's How obsessed he is God
- 3:39there's no story though you make your own story really no but you're right
- 3:43Matt because that's like when I had those three years where all I played was
- 3:48Conan Exiles that's got no story either which made it more addictive because you
- 3:53project onto it your story yeah yeah you just so your mate is just living his
- 3:57life as a trucker now y he's loving it yeah yeah you're living my life now in
- 4:03uh ancient Egypt from I am and I'm loving this so Assassin's Creed Origins
- 4:08now it it was it I went a roundabout way to getting this because we've been
- 4:13talking about Assassin's Creed what's the new one called the
- 4:18coming out one um Mirage Mirage yeah talking about that Middle Eastern
- 4:23setting I thought is that just rehashing the first one and I realized how long it
- 4:27had been since I actually played the first one and so I decided to go back um this is a
- 4:33360 game and we are rapidly approaching a time where 360 games feel really retro
- 4:39now like and the thing about it as well it was also early on in the 360
- 4:43generation it was a launch title wasn't it it was close to they certainly they
- 4:48certainly sold a lot of 360s for people buy Assassin's Creed and the best
- 4:52example of what how it changed from like the beginning of the generation to the
- 4:55end is Grand Theft Auto four to five that was both on the
- 5:02yeah that's right that's a great example but um I played this for a little bit
- 5:05and in fact I didn't even get out of the tutorial because I I found the tutorial
- 5:10even quite tedious and uh I was like why am I playing a 15-year-old more game
- 5:17when uh there's there's games already on my Xbox downloaded they figured out what
- 5:22was fun about this and what wasn't correct away stuff that wasn't except
- 5:25this game still has it yeah um and Origins is great and I agree with you I
- 5:30think Origins is just as good as Odyssey not Pol and it's it's not as
- 5:36vast but that's not a bad thing yeah um agreed although I ended up in a you
- 5:41would have known this but I ended up in a bath house uh last oh yeah yeah yeah
- 5:45um had to do a little bit of a house assassination well here's the thing I
- 5:50was like last time I went into a bath house in an Assassin's Creed game I got
- 5:54[ __ ] by like 12 dudes like they passed me around like a spliff you know what I
- 5:58mean and um because in uh in Odyssey
- 6:03everyone's [ __ ] horny for you like like know whether you play the the man
- 6:07or the woman yeah dudes just want to [ __ ] you yeah Cassandra men women
- 6:13whatever yeah yeah yeah yeah and I always said yes well sometimes you don't
- 6:18really have a choice and when I because I didn't play Cassandra I played Dimitri
- 6:22and uh alexio alexio yeah who's the [ __ ] is Demetri I'm not sure uh yeah I played
- 6:28alexio and and um the only female that I had sex with
- 6:34was an elderly woman and I rescued I her
- 6:39husband had escaped because he couldn't keep up with her sexual prowess and then
- 6:44she the quest was for me to go and retrieve him um and he begged me not to
- 6:48bring him back to her but he's like I'll go back but you have to be the one that [ __ ]
- 6:53her so I did just so tired everyone else
- 6:58that that had relations with men I guess
- 7:03in true Greek style yeah I mean I've learning a lot about ancient
- 7:09history this week um from Odyssey and uh well Origins now so we've been playing
- 7:14Origins I've been really enjoying it and I got to Giza right Giza and
- 7:19um I got to ancient London Giza and it's the pyramids and the Sphinx right and
- 7:25then even byak comments on this in the game you get to the Sphinx and I was I
- 7:29was like oh it's bigger than that and then in the game he goes I thought this
- 7:33thing was supposed to be bigger oh interesting and then so that was
- 7:36interesting and then you go kind of hunting around inside the pyramids and
- 7:38all that kind of thing like tomb of kufu and I was thinking I remember when I was
- 7:43a kid I [ __ ] loved ancient Egypt and at the time there was a lot of stuff
- 7:47floating around about how there were these hidden rooms in there and passages
- 7:51in all that kind of stuff like surely we figured that stuff out by now right I'm
- 7:54G to go on YouTube and see what the you know what the latest gos is about you
- 7:59know the Sphinx in the pyramids what [ __ ] hell right what a
- 8:04what a disaster the internet had been I couldn't all the results at first were
- 8:10clips from EP episodes of Ancient Aliens oh and I'm not joking all of them
- 8:15were either that or clips from Joe Rogan of some guy who was on Joe Rogan talking
- 8:20about how he thinks oh yeah the pyramids and the Sphinx are actually 200,000
- 8:24years old or something and the Egyptians just found them yeah and I was like
- 8:28where's the where's the fact where's the history yeah right so so I'm like trying
- 8:34quite hard now to find a video that's not like that it's just kind of you know
- 8:40I don't mind that stuff but come on yeah you you you're actually looking for
- 8:44information not entertain and so I was having trouble so then I was like okay
- 8:47fine I'm going to look for I forget that guy's name but I was like that guy
- 8:51debunked right it's not is it no I know who that is it's not that guy he's also
- 8:56terrible but um yeah he's a [ __ ] with it's a different guy but but then so I
- 9:01start looking for this deunk and the all the videos I can find are of people
- 9:06saying the argument seems to be it's racist to suggest that ancient Egyptians
- 9:11couldn't have built them and I'm like that's fair but could you do you have
- 9:16more than that yeah yeah like I understand that an actual argument yeah
- 9:21yeah yeah but is there not evidence that they were built around that time surely
- 9:24there is right or we just saying that it's RAC it's the only reason we're
- 9:28saying that they were built by the because it's racist to say that it wer
- 9:30is that really only I have seen videos in the past showing how you get enough
- 9:36people you can move these rocks like it is I'm sure we've done this right that's
- 9:42why can't I find that information anymore what the [ __ ] is going because
- 9:45it's gone man that information has been rep because I was looking up that stuff
- 9:49YouTube then decided oh you want to know more about Cleopatra being black onf and
- 9:55I was like oh yeah we should really talk about that cuz Luke and Luke and I had a
- 9:5820min about that two weeks ago neither of us knowing anything about the context
- 10:04know more than I wanted to now same same but we don't have to go back into it but
- 10:08uh apologies apologies if you knew anything about it and listen to Luke and
- 10:12I Stumble our way through it this is what I've learned right she was probably
- 10:17Greek no 100% she was the it's incredibly unlikely that she was black
- 10:23in fact no one really entertains that idea she might have been darker skinned
- 10:28but probably not because she was literally almost certainly the daughter
- 10:32of a guy from Cyprus and his wife who was also Greek yeah there's very little
- 10:37to suggest that that's not the case and we have paintings of her and statues of
- 10:41her we do she's a Greek woman or Macedonian looking yeah and that's the
- 10:46thing and that's the the setting of Origins as well which I find quite
- 10:49interesting that they did an ancient Egypt but not the actual ancient Egypt
- 10:54they did the the helenic ancient Egypt that had already been taken over by of
- 10:59the Great and the Greeks yeah I thought that was Odyssey I like so I kind of got over
- 11:05yeah there there's one fact about the pyramids I know which I still find
- 11:09interesting to this day you know like in Origins how they're smooth and yes they
- 11:14were smooth back in the day but then they basically to tore the walls off to
- 11:21go and make the wall for the city so the wall of the city is actually the outside
- 11:25of the pyramids and that's why they're now stepped up cuz I was looking when
- 11:29you're climbing up them I was like I'm pretty sure they're not smooth but yeah
- 11:32they were originally were that's a nice detail then I like they used to also
- 11:36have gold tops they're black I think like kind of obsidian right sure maybe
- 11:42it's some sort of gold haven't gotten there yet but anyway the clear patch
- 11:46thing is stupid I just don't understand and the I think the biggest problem is
- 11:50they said it was a documentary and that's why yes I think and that's what
- 11:53luk and and it's a documentary called black queens so oh is it I didn't even
- 11:57know yeah and it's a series about various black queens which is fair
- 12:02enough because I think nine out of 10 are about Africans but then one of them
- 12:06was about Greek who rules even I don't know everything apparently about this no
- 12:10no but but do you know why because none of the Articles talk about the facts
- 12:15they just talk about how upset everyone is yeah and then how they're saying more
- 12:21interesting that that you know the Netflix and the the even the actress who
- 12:24played her which who who I would imagine you know know ill intent on her part is
- 12:28now just as an who got aans and Greeks are racist like hang
- 12:34on oh is she weighing in now too is she yeah she's
- 12:38they're yeah anyway whatever this is all I just wanted to know are there [ __ ]
- 12:43secret rooms in the pyramids that's all I wanted to know I will I still don't
- 12:47know I remember I remember doing ancient history in high school and we did the
- 12:52pyramids and it would have the thing where the the people who like built the
- 12:56pyramids designed the rooms for like the pharaohs CU they're meant to be buried
- 13:01they build like Escape hatchers so they could yes I'm going to be buried with a
- 13:06pharaoh yes and then I just walk out the back door run away as you would yeah
- 13:11because also like you know how they had to like pull the brain out and all that
- 13:16stuff put it in jars well that was also bit sacrilegious because you're now
- 13:20doing that to that so those people would be sort of murdered they had to sort of
- 13:25Escape after doing the thing that they were meant to do so they could put the
- 13:28stuff in the J right weird well there's a scene of that
- 13:31in the original mummy and the original I mean the 1930s mummy not the bre frasia
- 13:36but like they bury they bury the the king imep and then IM yeah and then a
- 13:43bunch of soldiers kill the guys that buried them and then a bunch of other
- 13:47soldiers kill those soldiers where does it end it's so that
- 13:53when the King goes to I forget where they go he's got his servants there with
- 13:57him yeah but I think I think you're right I think the thing that we have to
- 14:01remember about the pyramids is that they serve no function whatsoever except as
- 14:06essentially a massive paper weight over a tomb believe these [ __ ] videos that's
- 14:11not the case well it is the case they align and also they not aligned to the
- 14:15stars and it's like if you if you want to align them to the Stars you have to
- 14:19ignore a lot of stars and a lot of pyramids they're like the size of them
- 14:24is exactly divisible by the something I know I was like hang on I don't care
- 14:29about this nonsense just tell me what's inside the [ __ ] thing yeah so you're
- 14:32getting down this is how you get sucked into Flat Earth and then it just made me
- 14:38sad because I'm like what where's the actual information these and it does
- 14:42make me worri because it it actually led me more down because some of these
- 14:45people talking about the clear Patra thing are talking about their concern is
- 14:48that history is being Rewritten in a way right and now people one you know like
- 14:52100 years from now are people going to think Cleopatra was black when probably
- 14:57she wasn't and Andes like does that matter Ian but that one thing might not tell a lot
- 15:02of people but if we keep doing that with everything like just deciding oh you you
- 15:07know like oh you know they were much more diverse than we've ever said they
- 15:12were in all these countries kind of thing but like they really weren't right
- 15:15which is not a good thing but it's just a fact like I don't know it's just it
- 15:19doesn't make me right because now like I said when I look up pyramids all I hear
- 15:21about is aliens but I think that always happens you know what I mean like like
- 15:25when you think of when you think of ancient what ancient Egypt looks like
- 15:29you're probably thinking about paintings that Italians did during the Renaissance
- 15:34sure and they kind of make it look way more Renaissance than it really was
- 15:39actually that was one of the arguments about the sort of convincing arguments
- 15:42with Cleopatra is that a lot of the statues and paintings were done by the
- 15:45Romans of her because she spent a lot of time in Rome and it's like they might
- 15:49have made her look more Roman because like that might be the case this is this
- 15:54is a bit of a problem that you have with history depending on who writes it yeah
- 15:59yeah I just feel like some of this stuff is like we're intentionally doing it now
- 16:02or people in it's literally intentional yeah but I think the ancient surely that
- 16:08started as a joke no one actually believes that except now that's what you
- 16:12find when you look up stuff so maybe people will think it's people do believe
- 16:17it and like I just told you about the measurements of it align with the Stars
- 16:20that kind of stuff that's just presented as fact now when you look up the
- 16:23pyramids that's the first thing you learn about them is this nonsense yeah
- 16:27yeah just makes me sense I mean it's very interesting that's certainly more
- 16:30interesting than just a bunch of [ __ ] slaves and day workers had to put it
- 16:35together right it is so everyone's clicking on it so it's the first thing
- 16:39that shows up because YouTube's like oh this is what people like yeah this is
- 16:43but also the other thing you got to realize is that the pyramids were older
- 16:47to Cleopatra than Cleopatra is to us sure like they were [ __ ] thousands of
- 16:53years old because early Kingdom Egypt had way too much money to spend the the
- 16:59kings were like when I die just build the biggest thing and then by the time
- 17:03all that money was spent it wasn't as wealthy a country anymore and no one did
- 17:07it again like because they serve no purpose you know what on that on that
- 17:11point of revisionism already happening there was an Egyptian guy I saw talking
- 17:16on some show getting mad about it because then he was also like we've had
- 17:20to we spent all this time trying to tell everybody that no we didn't force the
- 17:23Jews to build them we [ __ ] built them right and then now now they're at it
- 17:28again yeah that's right yeah oh yeah good point there's no evidence that
- 17:33there's no evidence that the Hebrews were ever in Egypt um there's compelling
- 17:39evidence that the whole Egyptian enslavement thing is a metaphor for the
- 17:44Jewish Exile in Babylon which was happening at the time and they just
- 17:47couldn't talk about Babylon and because they were literally there at the time so
- 17:53they just said it's Egypt and everyone understood at the time what that me wink
- 17:57wink nudge nudge win why we Pharaoh we don't Pharaoh's name if you were a
- 18:04hisory also comping evidence that um that basically it wasn't even Egyptian
- 18:09slaves that built the pyramids it was just people who were paid that was their
- 18:13job they were workers yeah and that you worked in shifts and and you know you
- 18:18might be a farmer half the year and then the year the part of the Year where you
- 18:22couldn't Farm because the Nile was you know at its peak then you went and and
- 18:26then they gave him be yes or or bear
- 18:30with me it was Ancient Aliens yeah right I mean which one's more like explain a
- 18:36lot damn which one is more interesting which one actually I did see a funny
- 18:40comedian that said that like the problem is that you've got two possibilities one
- 18:44is the aliens came down and built the pyramids and the other one is that brown
- 18:48people did it come on which one's more likely yeah yeah can I tell you one
- 18:54other history fact I know it's not about Egypt okay it's about India okay go on
- 18:59parge Mahal yes that would because you know aliens there was meant to be a
- 19:03second one oh so they built they spent a lot of money building the one out of
- 19:08white marble there was there was meant to be another identical one facing it
- 19:13made out of black marble oh that'd be cool and it was meant to be two except I
- 19:18think he bankrupted out ofing the first one got bored well then you know what
- 19:22I'm so glad that they did them one at a time because if that was done today they
- 19:26would have laid two foundations and we would have had two half finished buildings
- 19:32yeah yeah and still bankrupt
- 19:35country anyway history who needs it yeah let's let's talk about fun stuff
- 19:42history what do you guys know about this Sony PlayStation handheld that's uh oh
- 19:48been announced this week so my understanding is that it it only
- 19:52functions if you have a PS5 yes and it's
- 19:56like a it's basically a PlayStation 5 controller cut in half with an iPad
- 20:02shoved in the middle yes that's linked to your existing that sounds pretty good
- 20:06I'll be honest well here it does sound pretty good but you know what sounds
- 20:08better than that if they released a portable PlayStation 5 that was cheaper
- 20:14than buying a PlayStation 5 sure that I could go and get just to play my
- 20:19PlayStation exclusives on yeah I I reckon if if they had if they had a Xbox
- 20:25handheld and a PlayStation handheld that were decent enough and priced decently
- 20:30enough i' probably [ __ ] off the fullsize consoles I'll just have a rack with a
- 20:35bunch of handhelds well the thing with this right so this this it has the stuff
- 20:39has to run on your your PlayStation 5 that you've have hooked up at home it'll
- 20:41stream the video to it but which is kind of like oh Xbox Cloud but just not as
- 20:47useful Xbox Cloud I can play behind I don't need my Xbox doing anything you
- 20:52don't even need Xbox I guess technically anymore if you're going to use oh so
- 20:55you're saying the actual PlayStation is is literally running correct it runs the
- 21:00game on your PlayStation and it streams the video to it that's my understanding
- 21:04of it that's Le that's even less interesting it's getting less and less
- 21:07interesting all hon now that I've said that did they even confirm if it can
- 21:12work over the Internet or is this just work in your house in which case it's
- 21:16even more useless correct yeah wow yeah I'm not so handheld device PR Q right
- 21:22now will allow play to stream games to the screen sense games won't run natively on
- 21:28the device meaning you'll need to install them on a PS5 and have good
- 21:31Wi-Fi connectivity to stream them within your house yeah okay so playing another
- 21:35room is the benefit of this maybe yeah Ian if work the internet it'd still be
- 21:40kind of useful maybe but see but but if it says that having that installed on
- 21:44your console I defeats the purpose when I think of things like this I think this
- 21:48would be useful to me if I was traveling right so maybe on a plane that' be fun
- 21:52or if I was in a hotel neither of those situations am I going to have good Wi-Fi
- 21:57I'm I might have some but it's not going to be good so I I
- 22:01don't know this what with my like handheld a Neo thing I've got it's
- 22:06basically running window 11 so I've I need handh PC essentially right yeah so
- 22:11I I stream Xbox on the cloud to the game I don't stream I install the games so
- 22:17the games are installed on there but it needs a connection to the internet to go
- 22:20hey you've got an account but it's not so oh but it doesn't need it doesn't
- 22:24need a good enough connection to it's just hey do you have an account yes no
- 22:29so I don't need to worry about having good Wi-Fi just some Wi-Fi to play it so
- 22:33like a steam deck you actually install them on there right yeah yeah like less
- 22:39useful a license yeah yeah so yeah Sony's just behind the ball on streaming
- 22:45at the moment like Microsoft is preparing for nvidia's already got their stuff I feel
- 22:51like each of them has like these weird things that they just can't get right
- 22:55like like Xbox is just not doing any VR stuff for some reason
- 22:59other than that they're doing buy into that Sony's got the great VR stuff and
- 23:02now this handheld thing just seems silly and then Nintendo is like oh you've got
- 23:07kind of the sort of the best of both walls but the graphics in that aren't as
- 23:10good except all the cloud stuff is garbage like Cloud saves that kind of
- 23:14stuff is just super clunky on the on the switch like why have they fixed it that
- 23:18you can transfer your your yeah cuz I remember when it first came out you
- 23:22couldn't transfer your safe games you can manually upload them if you're
- 23:27paying for the for the switch online service but it's not autom I like about
- 23:31the the Xbox it just automatically does it there's no reason they couldn't do
- 23:36that literally everything else does it it's just I don't know Nintendo just
- 23:39can't get that stuff right but they've all got like flaws for some
- 23:42reason the VR I I'd be pretty interesting in checking out this uh
- 23:47stranger things VR game that's coming out except it's for meta it's not even
- 23:51for PlayStation so mat oh yeah we all miss out the
- 23:56metaverse you No I gave it away oh all right I I I I
- 24:02just played poker and wanted to smoke so fair
- 24:07enough but meta dying off isn't it they're more well the mete certainly
- 24:13didn't take off the way they wanted I think and then John car got the shits
- 24:15and left so yeah I think they're more focusing on AI now than yeah that never
- 24:22going to work we got some AI news
- 24:25actually yes me laugh a lawyer is in big
- 24:29trouble now because he uh he he was hired by a client who's suing an airline
- 24:35and he was putting together a you know I guess a brief or whatever you call it
- 24:39the kind of initial paperwork or whatever yeah and he asked chat GPT to
- 24:45find a bunch of Prior cases which it did and then he said are these real and chat
- 24:52gbd said of course yeah they're not as far as I know he didn't bother to check
- 24:56he just asked chat gbd submitted judge is now like these don't exist and
- 25:02he's in real [ __ ] CU that's he could to me that's like
- 25:07getting close to you're losing your license to practice because you're
- 25:10wasting everyone's time and his client could probably sue him for male pract
- 25:14for for you know poor representation or whatever now not doing your job like I'm
- 25:18paying you to do this and you just went to J chat GP and went hey yes is this a
- 25:22thing so let this be a lesson and then other people are saying
- 25:26like what happens so GPT just made all this [ __ ] up mhm uh and we've now got
- 25:32people using chat GPT to make up stuff on the internet that's posting articles
- 25:36and stuff on the internet and then they're training it on the internet so
- 25:41like what point is are we just gonna everything's just going to be lies uh
- 25:46already right now is that point um because apparently it will just please
- 25:51you it'll just tell you what you want to hear um because I I was listening to
- 25:55some talk about they wanted they wanted they were doing some academic thing and
- 26:00they were like give me such and such an argument and then site some sources to
- 26:04back that up and they weren't like write my essay for me but they were like just
- 26:08just do the the the the wireframe of it I'll write it but they made up sources
- 26:13they were like this book by this publisher by this person from this year
- 26:17doesn't exist doesn't exist but it's so funny CU I've I've started using chat
- 26:21gbt when I do creative work simply because I can just put in a whole bunch
- 26:26of brain vomit and then I go summarize that for me and it will and it's very
- 26:31very good at organizing random thoughts so I use it for that but at one point it
- 26:35said to me great idea I'm really excited to read this and I wrote back are you
- 26:40excited and it's like well no because I am a machine I don't get excited I'm
- 26:45like well they say that like just don't don't patronize me also Dan we're not
- 26:49friends okay that's right yeah don't get the wrong idea about this yeah yeah oh I
- 26:56know when not friends when I asked him to nut out Nile the ball butcher it just
- 26:59[ __ ] really let let me have it not only did it say I won't write that
- 27:04because it's against my code of conduct it really judged me bad person for
- 27:09asking me to do it yeah yeah yeah so
- 27:12anyway let this be a lesson uh L is just be careful with ch I hear on a podcast
- 27:18somebody said you can um work around it if you give it Source material and you
- 27:24say please put together some quotes from the material I've given you that support
- 27:29this thesis it will do that quite nicely so you say here's here's a couple of
- 27:34documents uh I'm trying to make a case that this is something like say it's for
- 27:38a legal case can you find some quotes and some citations in the documents I
- 27:43gave you it will do that okay but I have a question is this just going to lead to
- 27:47stupid people probably oh yeah because you know even though you're saying take
- 27:53it from here you're not going into that and learning that yourself you're just
- 27:57getting that to SP it out for you KN well I don't know when when I use
- 28:03when I use it for my creative stuff I have to stop it from trying to be
- 28:07creative like it'll go oh what about this I'm like no no no please don't
- 28:10generate ideas for me I'll do that I'm just I want you to help me like format
- 28:16my arguments well this is what the big thing for the rer block the rer strike
- 28:21at the moment is it's going we don't want oh my God you just nailed that why
- 28:25aren't they calling this Rider's block
- 28:31Riders block 2023 and they're not they they're not saying not to use it but that shouldn't
- 28:38be replacing people which is what will happen because well they worried about
- 28:42like CU you can you can ask somebody for a spec script right my this is my
- 28:47understanding of it I'm not obviously I'm not a film film author writer um but
- 28:52you can pay somebody to write a kind of a spec script and you don't really pay
- 28:56as much for that as you would to have them write like you know a full-on it's
- 29:00not a full-on request for you to write the screenplay or whatever right so you
- 29:04can just kind of say give us a kind of a spec kind of thing you could then get a
- 29:08bunch of writers to do that give them all the chat GPT and then have it spit
- 29:13out an actual script and then you just saved yourself a bunch of money if you're a
- 29:17studio now that is only marginally different from what happens now anyway
- 29:22because when I watch movies now I swear they were written by chat G PT that had
- 29:26just been told take existing tropes from all the popular movies right now and
- 29:32just write me the most generic script you can um but yes as you pointed out
- 29:36the difference is some dude's getting paid to do that you know he's being
- 29:40asked to be as uncreative as possible but he's he's still look I'm still start
- 29:46we need to start having the world needs to start having a conversation we're
- 29:49getting to the point where part of the population should just be able to not
- 29:53work and do anything how do we that we killed so that the rest of us
- 29:59could live large I mean but you look at like a lot
- 30:03of future a future sort of things and everyone's together and like even like
- 30:09Star Trek there's the economics in that like you work but you don't y worry
- 30:14about money so you want anything you have it but then why does that woman
- 30:18live in a trailer in Picard as one any whatever doesn't
- 30:22matter get out of the city Matt just to get out of the right race um yeah yeah
- 30:28transition to I just don't have to do anything anymore and I get to do
- 30:31whatever I want yeah not worry about money I was as a rant I was watching
- 30:36from a composer the other day about how already in the industry most producers
- 30:41and directors will ask you you familiar with the work of Han simmer we're kind
- 30:44of looking for that and it's like yeah yeah right bet you are yeah and it's
- 30:48basically everybody just needs to know how to do that now except not anymore
- 30:52cuz they won't need us to do that anymore they can just give it a give it
- 30:55all his existing scores this hard and Zimmer yeah yeah make sure it's
- 31:00different enough that I can't be sued but that's there's something cool in
- 31:05there not that not what you've just described but what if always said to
- 31:09chat gbt give us a brand new The Beatles album you know what I mean like sure
- 31:15what would the Beatles write if they were still around today and producing
- 31:18One More album there's something awesome about that because it would it would be
- 31:23so inspired by The Beatles you know beyond any human capacity to be inspire
- 31:29um but terrifying at the same time but then
- 31:31again uh what that redheaded twe from
- 31:36England that wins all the Grammys uh Ed
- 31:39Sheran Ed Sheran see he knew um just got
- 31:43sued by the estate of Marvin Gay and and one right because now here's the thing
- 31:50he did steal that song that song is verbatim Marvin Gay but he did it on
- 31:55purpose because he was writing a 70s Style Soul ballad and if you want to
- 31:59write a 70 Soul ballad you use the same musical tropes that Marvin G was using
- 32:04changed it enough that to meet the requirements yeah that's the legal
- 32:09requirements correct because without copyright law it used to just be that
- 32:15songs were songs and once you'd written one anyone could sing it change the
- 32:19words change the tempo whatever but now we have specific laws that says you're
- 32:25allowed to change this you're not allowed to change their children and
- 32:27their [ __ ] children yeah that's forever in yeah exactly right yeah not
- 32:31how it was supposed to work yeah never like the fact that you start selling it
- 32:35like that and yeah it ended on a somewhat positive
- 32:41note which was that that honestly the best thing you can do now is don't try
- 32:44and sound like H Zimmer just do what you do there are there will be an audience
- 32:49for it and either you'll get hired to do some work and you'll be happy or you
- 32:54won't and it's you wouldn't have been happy happy anyway yeah cuz
- 32:58you knowed the soundtrack like everybody else get asked to do right exactly yeah
- 33:05uh yeah look while we're on movies Matt you've just finished a movie I did I
- 33:10literally just watched movie know about before this I watched if we're talking
- 33:15about cell 35 I watched this as well cell 35 I don't know what that is ah oh
- 33:20oh in the spreadsheet that we're all looking at yeah I'm looking C 35 what
- 33:25movie is that no that okay yes I just watched Evil Dead rise yeah you watched
- 33:30it as well yeah I did yeah yeah I hated how is it did you did you really okay I
- 33:34hated it and this is exactly what I'm talking about about movies that look
- 33:39like chat GPT wrote them this is so intent on making you think this is an
- 33:45evil dead movie by just employing every Trope from every Evil Dead movie but for
- 33:49me it just didn't work I liked it but I
- 33:55don't and and yeah I know you mean it had a lot of callbacks a lot of lines
- 34:00stolen you know the shotgun and the chainsaw show up and uh Bruce Campbell's
- 34:05vo is in it and it's it's got all the bits and pieces and I liked it except it
- 34:09doesn't have any any of the humor at all no is it [ __ ] humorist tonally it's
- 34:15completely wrong because the whole thing about evil the previous one was too to
- 34:19be fair but it was more you in the remake the Evil Dead correct but at
- 34:24least more fun yeah it was fun this is very dire and the thing about this
- 34:30that I really didn't like it was just so on the nose it's like they were trying
- 34:34so hard to make this dark and Gothic right from the start and the whole point
- 34:38of the Evil Dead is that they're in Paradise they're in a cabin in the woods
- 34:42that Trope has become scary because of the evil dead but the point was it was
- 34:47young people having a good time out in the woods and evil [ __ ] happens this was
- 34:53in a haunted [ __ ] semi-abandoned
- 34:56yeah complex peeling wallpaper lights barely work I don't know I I didn't I
- 35:03couldn't I couldn't buy into this yeah okay oh I mean I I liked it I'm glad you
- 35:07did because I was I was very aware that maybe on a different day or in a better
- 35:11mood I might have just gone along with it but I just I could see the The
- 35:15Producers standing over the filmmaker's shoulders going make it more evil Daddy
- 35:20yeah I mean it's listeners this is not unless you know that you like evil dead
- 35:25and in particular unless you know you liked the remake of Evil Dead even maybe
- 35:31just be sure you want to watch this cuz it's very fullon like
- 35:36very they lean into the violence it's still different to The Originals yeah
- 35:42well there's no comedy in this at all no just misery just a just miserable from
- 35:48the beginning it's dead serious like I like the comedy stuff yeah me too it's
- 35:53the most it's also the most 2023 movie ever because it's like it's so it's so
- 35:58woke on purpose you know it's like the girl is very androgynous looks like a
- 36:03Boy the boy is very androgynous looks like a girl you know it's like it's just
- 36:07so it's so 23 yeah I know what you mean yeah actually one of the um the actor
- 36:12that plays the boy is trans well there you go I mean not that that matters but
- 36:17no no no but it's just yeah it's just very here and now it's very off time and
- 36:23he Australian yeah that's right it's got
- 36:26asog from uh uh Vikings in it who I don't like just because I don't like a
- 36:33character in Vikings and I can't help tot [ __ ] in Vikings yeah because ltha
- 36:36was way better she replaced ltha yeah exactly ragar ragar you fool yeah what
- 36:42are you doing mate I still love in that first season of Vikings it might even be
- 36:46in the first episode when um is it athl red the priest the the monk is um he's
- 36:53been kidnapped essentially by the Vikings by Ragnar and his wife
- 36:58yeah yeah Tak him back to to Norway and um he's being forced to live in their
- 37:03house and and they're [ __ ] in like the other side of this one room house
- 37:07and then they and he's like trying to ignore them and then at one point they
- 37:10stop and he comes over and he's like my wife wants to know if you want to get in
- 37:14on this and he's like no no thanks we
- 37:19don't do that suit yourself yeah I'm just on Google at the moment looking at
- 37:24like reviews of Evil Dead rise and pretty matching what you guys said like
- 37:29the difference like five five stars and one star they're sort of equal so you
- 37:35either love it or you don't I liked it but I can see where Dan's coming from
- 37:40and I also noted that the tone is very different yeah and I I was the same and
- 37:46I was watching it thinking I hope when Matt watches this he can buy into it
- 37:51because then he would really enjoy it in a way that I can't no I did it's got
- 37:55some good stuff I mean the shots through the PE whole that that was all very cool
- 37:59like it's got cool some cool stuff like that in it it's got also actually there
- 38:03some some shots it's like a joke gag shot but it reminded me of dark city
- 38:08when the the sister puts a hand into the bathtub at one point oh yeah and there
- 38:12kind of a yeah there's some neat NE neat stuff like that that I like that kind of
- 38:17stuff when you said peephole I don't know why but I just thought of that
- 38:20quote you told us before we
- 38:25started mhm h but audience you'll never know you never
- 38:32know um yeah speaking of the audience we got some feedback on uh our conversation
- 38:38last week Luke Craig's written in oh about why you might want to live in the
- 38:43woods and prep for disaster yeah he's he's I mean he's told us we Chang
- 38:49podcast to multiple sheep orgasm oh yeah yeah yeah uh because you know if
- 38:56if if we're not bothered by of 2030 then something's wrong with us yep got to be
- 39:01worried about it he followed up and said he was just joking yes oh I'm not
- 39:05worried about it because I I'm on I'm on their side I'm I'm I'm actively working
- 39:08towards it right right what what is your goal then Dan if I may ask evilness Matt
- 39:15just being evil yeah just being evil and what's the idea about just making it
- 39:20very the more we tell you about it the
- 39:24less you'll believe it right if we make it sound secretive everyone will know
- 39:30it's something going on I've got Tom Delong writing movies
- 39:36and comic books about it at this point that's right he's in on it he is anyway Craig
- 39:42said uh no he's he's just having fun out in the woods he's not trying to get away
- 39:46from the yeah the government specifically I mean just get away from
- 39:50it just get away from everyone probably government included but not exclusively
- 39:54from the government he's got enough problems on his hands with the go so
- 39:58that's right but we sort of mentioned it at a good time cuz he's just released
- 40:02another video on his YouTube channel yes that's true okay yeah check that out
- 40:06bush bush bush H I can't speak Bushra
- 40:10Bush why can I not say Bush CRA I don't know but I'm really glad you
- 40:16can't same you're welcome Craig finish the name of the Channel
- 40:22please uh Bushcraft camping and Adventures yes check him out well that
- 40:29sounds excellent yeah know his Channel's good it's good content this one might
- 40:33have a yahi not promising anything but find out oh and another listener mclunky
- 40:38wrote in this week and sent me uh this the the the Esquire interview with uh
- 40:45Harrison Ford that I've put in here where it's got It's actually quite a
- 40:49good little interview with Harrison Ford talking about his career and they ask
- 40:52him a bunch of interesting questions but one of them in particular is about um
- 40:58it's not phrase as a question they just said at the time Blade Runner came out
- 41:02Ridley Scott was telling everybody decad was a replicant and you said he wasn't
- 41:07and then Harrison Ford says well I knew he Ridley Scott said that he was and I
- 41:13wanted to push back on that because I thought a replicant would deny or
- 41:17believe that they were human so that's why so using character sure he said he
- 41:23knew but but the other thing is too it's it's still ambiguous in the movie so
- 41:27like this none of this doesn't bother me because I quite like that it's ambiguous
- 41:31and yes it's heavily implied especially in the director's cut that he's a
- 41:35replicant yeah but they don't say in the film so I don't care what ridy Scott
- 41:39says and I don't care what Harron Ford says it's interesting but it's not in
- 41:42the film so it's intentionally ambiguous
- 41:45yes yes and also the the book also that
- 41:50it's based The Source material also kind of weighs in on that if you care enough
- 41:55to go back and look at that and also I think if Ridley says he's definitely a
- 42:02replicant and Harrison Ford had come out of the time and went yeah he's
- 42:06definitely a replicant then that's just the [ __ ] end of it the fact the fact
- 42:10that they disagree the director and the actor that played him disagreed gave us
- 42:1440 Years of debate and then you watch the movie and you go well I don't know
- 42:18for sure yeah I mean you can interpret Edward Jones almost leaving a little uh
- 42:24yeah little unicorn unicorn outside his door as proof I mean that's a pretty big
- 42:29but it's not definitive but yeah he doesn't knock on the door and go hey
- 42:33replicant by the way you're a replicant yeah we all are we all we're all
- 42:40replicants see you later it's not such thing as a [Laughter]
- 42:46human I think I don't know if it's this article or another interview that he's
- 42:50done orally but he was talking about um D Destiny as well oh yeah and about how
- 42:56um there's rting scenes and he was basically telling the stunk guys like
- 43:00leave me alone I'm old like just let he doesn't want it to be old jokes but he
- 43:03wants it to be clear like I'm an old man oh right so don't have some cool
- 43:07backflip stuff going on and and then it just cut back to him annoying yeah yeah
- 43:13it's like yeah I'm old the character's old let's not be silly I love I love
- 43:18that he's still doing all his interviews and I somebody asked him recently like
- 43:22oh who would win in a fight between Han Solo and Indiana Jones and he was like
- 43:26I'm not going to end answer that CU that's a [ __ ] stupid
- 43:30question even his his manner in there like he just doesn't give a [ __ ] like
- 43:36he's never given a [ __ ] has he yeah he's
- 43:39just legit like he just he he he actually there was an interview I read
- 43:45recently about this where you know he was he moved to Hollywood he wanted to
- 43:48be an actor but he was like well that's quite hard and he's seeing all of his
- 43:53friends and people that he meets giving up and going home he's like I'm not
- 43:56going to do that I'm going to become a carpenter and then I'll just be a
- 44:00[ __ ] Carpenter if it doesn't work in Hollywood and you know Hollywood Life
- 44:05yeah have you heard the rumor about his carpentry he'd build like hot tubs and
- 44:10stuff with like little secret compartments for people to hide their
- 44:12drugs in so like the flip up he was the
- 44:16cool Carpenter he was in through yeah was he yeah he was a cool dude and I
- 44:22think he was literally fixing George Lucas's door when he was first right
- 44:28yeah they were like can can you come and stand in cuz I think he worked with them
- 44:32on American Graffiti yes and then he was just doing work and then George was oh
- 44:38hey he wanted to just read with the other actors because somebody couldn't
- 44:42make it or whatever and then they were like hang on a minut I mean he'd had
- 44:44some good roles and he he'd been in Apocalypse Now for Francis
- 44:48cop best friend that's what I meant yeah and he has some of the best lines in
- 44:53that entire movie in the one scene that he's in um and also remember how [ __ ]
- 44:58handsome he was like you can't just be that handsome and not have people go do
- 45:02you want to be in a movie yeah if just hanging around these dire yeah yeah just
- 45:08ask Carrie Fisher how handsome he was that's right um speaking of his relationships
- 45:14though he rocked up to the KH premiere of um this with kalista flart I was like
- 45:19oh yeah he married Ali MCB i' forgotten about that and they didn't sit them next
- 45:25to each other they got to their and he to
- 45:30my move people around um but then he got a five minute standing ovation after the
- 45:36movie which is which is normal for KH though but I did read things that five
- 45:40minutes wasn't very long yeah I was about yeah sometimes they they just
- 45:44stand there for 20 minutes um I've heard this as awful um yeah me too which makes
- 45:50me either why not want to wait ages till I see it or see it as soon as I can to
- 45:55put myself out of misery yeah it's a hard thing and this is the
- 45:59thing you should never go off exactly what other people say because just
- 46:02because other people say it's doesn't mean you're not going to like it yeah
- 46:06variety came out with the the headline Hollywood please stop daging actors um
- 46:13and Harris in response to this and Harrison Ford came out and went this is
- 46:16not like some photoshop thing they've got footage of me when I was that age
- 46:21and they literally just cropped my face out so shut up that is me young yeah
- 46:27yeah and I it depends I don't know from what I've seen it's I think it's a bit
- 46:31different to the normal daging this is going to be time travel so what are you
- 46:36meant to do well we'll see we'll see yeah like he's meant to be in the past
- 46:40how is he don't be aging when he's in the past I don't think I'm going to be
- 46:43going to the movies to see this I haven't even seen Guardians 3 yet I'm
- 46:45not going to go see neither have I I quite enjoyed Guardians 3 yeah I'm sure
- 46:50I'm sure I'll enjoy it too I just haven't gotten around to it what when
- 46:53they we became the people we had kids and we've become those people Dan yeah yeah that's
- 46:59right open World Indiana Jones game that I literally saw a trailer for five years
- 47:05ago where is that oh I'm almost got canell no no no it's still in the work
- 47:12is it though someone's actively working on it right now um new Indiana Jones
- 47:17game everything we know so far you've been drinking out of a Blade Runner Cup
- 47:21this whole time talking about Blade Runner no mention of it yeah sorry got
- 47:25my glass still in the very very early stages of the they're not doing it the
- 47:31couple is a replicant that's not real whiskey it's it's Indiana Jones is one
- 47:36of the many upcoming Bethesda games it's not though is it but yeah very very
- 47:41early stages so we're probably looking 2026 oh at least mate early stages of a
- 47:47massive open World um being done by guys who did
- 47:53Wolfenstein oh yeah which Wolfenstein the the New Order ones New Colossus they
- 47:59were good I enjoyed those they weren't open world though no they were not
- 48:03closed first person shooters which but yeah Indiana Jones canot be a first
- 48:06person shoer just first
- 48:12person fbws that famous sub genre um I watched
- 48:18the [ __ ] two and a half hours worth of disco elesium explainer I didn't I
- 48:22just sent it to you and I thought he'll tell me no I took it I took one for the team um
- 48:27I can sum this up in under a minute if you guys want to know I would love to
- 48:31know so this is about all the controversy that they've got at the
- 48:33studio with people Le who got sacked who didn't get sacked and stormed out who
- 48:37owns rights who stole right pry good journalism like they literally went and
- 48:42talked to all these [ __ ] people like they literally went to Estonia watched
- 48:47the trial and then went interviewed everyone nice um I hope they get some
- 48:53money back out of this to make up like
- 48:56an expensive Endeavor on I think the creative team who came up with the idea
- 49:03for disco alium and wrote the story and did the artwork are exceptional
- 49:08creatives they are terrible business people yeah and they are terrible people
- 49:14managers MH so while it was just a
- 49:19collective of artists coming up with cool ideas it worked very well when they
- 49:25had to become a business they essentially got on real bus people
- 49:29who made real bus decisions but the creatives didn't understand that if you
- 49:35going to get a million dollars off a venture capitalist they want lots of
- 49:39money back sure yes they don't just want a million dollars back yeah and they
- 49:43want control over the IP they want to be able to insist you add things that you
- 49:49might not have otherwise added to make it more commercial etc etc
- 49:54etc um so that was the first problem was that these creative people used to just
- 49:59living in a basement of money correct and then they
- 50:04got the shits now also this that's the first problem the second problem is that
- 50:08it went from their little creative
- 50:11Collective to a software studio with coders and developers and all of these
- 50:17people who are just doing a 9 to-5 job who aren't you know sweating their blood
- 50:22and tears and political ideologies into it
- 50:27this is a job and uh By the time these people got on the the creatives are like
- 50:32no no we think of the ideas and then you just work around the clock to make them
- 50:35happen and they're like n dude what you're describing is just a really
- 50:40shitty boss you know um and So eventually it got to the point where
- 50:47these creatives just being there were creating this toxic environment and both
- 50:52the employees and the owners of the company were like you guys need to
- 50:56either Branch off and do your own thing like start working on a sequel or
- 50:59something like that or just leave the company and let us release the game yeah
- 51:05because all you're doing coming in coming up with new ideas making people
- 51:08change things and stuff you actually don't have the authority to do that
- 51:11anymore because we're in charge now because we bought the idea off you and
- 51:16um all you're doing is making everyone miserable right yeah so I can see it
- 51:21from both sides but unfortunately I think the artists are are wrong right
- 51:26I've I've dealt with these kind of artists all the time working both sides
- 51:30of the cre they thought they were just getting like money and still got to do
- 51:35whatever they want yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah because at one point too the part
- 51:39of the lawsuit was that they demanded to see like work that the company were
- 51:45doing after they had already left and they were like no you were completely
- 51:52privy to that information while you were here and you never asked to see it
- 51:56because you didn't want to do any of the business side of it all you wanted to do
- 51:59was be creative and come up with cool ideas and while that was your job that
- 52:05was fine and now that you're off starting up your new company trying to
- 52:10make new games we're not just going to let you become our biggest rival and
- 52:14then give you all our kind of right corporate assets at the same
- 52:18time so colossal misunderstanding on their part and a lesson learned
- 52:23hopefully um but the thing is if um if there is a disco elium 2 it will be
- 52:28released by the rights holders which is the people who made the game not the
- 52:32people who created the game yeah For Better or For Worse um but those people
- 52:38are free to create a holy new game if they if they so desire all right we'll
- 52:44wait and see weit see I I'd be surprised if they get anything off the ground
- 52:48though so would I yeah sounds like well I don't know maybe maybe they'd have to
- 52:53prove they've learned now right because people G think twice about it probably
- 52:57oh definitely or some [ __ ] billionaire who just love disco elium
- 53:02might just becoming like an angel investor you know what I mean and just
- 53:05say here's the money go do it look no I I think even with that even if they to
- 53:09get that I think they still need to bring someone on who can actually keep
- 53:12it on track and I I I think that's the problem that they'll have there was this
- 53:17um a French film director in the 60s called hry George clo who was the most
- 53:23popular he he was like cubric ay movies but that made money right so everyone
- 53:29went to see him and a studio at one point said just to get you on board we
- 53:33want the next one blank check and no deadline so just whatever you want to
- 53:38spend we'll just keep giving you the money and however long you want to spend
- 53:42on it oh and surprise the [ __ ] prize there was never a movie because he just
- 53:48kept shooting and shooting and shooting and then he'd have a new idea okay this
- 53:52actor's out a new actor's in we'll consider all of that just to be test
- 53:55footage right and you know and it just it just never never ended yeah yeah you
- 54:02need people to keep creative people on track yeah here the end point yeah or
- 54:08you who just happens to do both yeah like that does exist but yes yes like
- 54:15how dare I say it a George Lucas sure yeah who I oh that was the other thing
- 54:20they asked Harrison Ford was who's the better cook um George or stei Spielberg
- 54:26or James Mangold oh and he said um he said Steven Spielberg's Dad or Mom was a
- 54:33was a was a chef so he might be all right James mangal's good cookie said
- 54:37George runs on cheeseburgers and fries
- 54:39so not him right I believe that yeah
- 54:44salad many Reas salad more recently oh yeah seen eating salad in a food court
- 54:50yeah for some reason in Australia I still reckon sprinkled with money on top
- 54:55yeah look we've talked about um bad
- 55:00movies in uh stal of Destiny potentially good movies apparently that are coming
- 55:05out we talked last week Luke about how I think the cinematographer or something
- 55:10on the flash said this movie so good you'll forget what Ezra Miller did
- 55:15you'll forget about his crime ter doubling down on that and then cuz
- 55:20someone that he was ask an interview oh do you think you'd replace Ezra Miller
- 55:24in a sequel and then the director said no no they're too good Ezra is too good
- 55:29in this movie and it's like hang on a minute guys stop it he assaulted people
- 55:35he broke into people's homes he didn't kidnap he was just he
- 55:41questioned about an underage girl away from her family if that's not
- 55:46kidnapping I don't I can't wait to see this movie I know I got to find a
- 55:51babysitter when this comes out like I'm not waiting around for starters I didn't
- 55:55realize until you broke at last week well we were we going to say that
- 56:00sorry I shouldn't yeah yeah that's out yeah it was out but we said it in the
- 56:05Afterparty it's not out oh on I'll make a note of this 57 we
- 56:10can we can beep it it's just I mean they they've come out and
- 56:15said it so I am so happy about that because here's the thing that is such a
- 56:20good example of good fan service sure
- 56:24right like bad service bad fan service is Disney now take their casting
- 56:30suggestions from the internet you know what I mean oh everyone wants Toano to
- 56:34be played by um Rosario Dawson Rosario Dawson okay fine we'll do that that's
- 56:39terrible this going we all know see see now I can't talk about it
- 56:45without a spoiler I'm sorry I'll beep all of this
- 56:49all right um in then and didn't get to so here you
- 56:55go anyway I'm sorry this this movie must be amazing yeah
- 57:01well it just seems like such an odd thing to say that they must really
- 57:05believe it because who the [ __ ] is gonna who who the [ __ ] comes out and says no
- 57:09no I know I know Isa did some horrible things but you haven't seen the movie
- 57:15yet this comic book movie people didn't even say that about pansy like people
- 57:21went yeah like people just said like palansky is a
- 57:25rapist and other people went yeah I'm just not going to think about that and
- 57:30like these films are still we Awards
- 57:33nobody no one said CH is so good that it doesn't matter who he raped yeah yeah
- 57:40you go it's just yeah no it's fine we'll let him off is so good that he's he's
- 57:44paid his Penance now yeah you can get back in Jack Nicholson's pool anytime
- 57:48you want mate it's weird that they're they're talking about them though like
- 57:53it's and and to go so far as to say no he's great at it and all this instead of
- 57:58just what I thought they'd be doing like going we've got to release the movie
- 58:01because there too much so we'll we'll just try and play it down and say we're
- 58:06just getting him help and leave it at that I just think it's yeah super odd
- 58:10like extreme position to to all be coming out with like super weird to be
- 58:16like no no no obviously don't agree with any of that stuff yeah but he see the
- 58:22movie guys cuz that's the thing we had tipped this 100% this movie will not
- 58:26come out when all this St up we're like well they got to throw this in the bin
- 58:29cuz he just kept he it was a crime spree worse and worse
- 58:35and they just relas and then attack someone out couldn't find Ezra Miller
- 58:41anywhere like and then the studio were like guys we can't not release this
- 58:47movie it's so [ __ ] good have you seen the movie yeah when you see it you'll
- 58:52know why we turned to Blind eyed to all of this when the judge sees this he'll
- 58:55drop the charges don't worry about it when the parents of that missing girl watch
- 59:01this yeah uh look before we go to the after party I just want to tip also some
- 59:05good TV that I watched um and I watched on Netflix this week uh there's one
- 59:11episode I don't know why there's not more I assume there's more coming it's
- 59:14called Frankenstein's monsters monster Frankenstein oh yeah okay I had
- 59:19heard just before this is written by and
- 59:23starring David Harbor right MH and if I'm giving you the elevator pitch this
- 59:28is the American GTH mangi okay so David
- 59:32Harbor plays himself investigating his
- 59:36father who was an actor right um and made a Frankenstein TV show back in the
- 59:4370s and he is piecing together bits of this lost show and also speaking to
- 59:49people who were involved in it back in the day right um but he the way that he
- 59:54portrays the father is essentially a caricature of Aon Wells they even do the
- 1:00:00pmer song commercial except it's for such and such roast beef but he's in the
- 1:00:05white suit and he's sitting there just gorging himself on this beef before they
- 1:00:09start rolling camera it is hilarious all right I have to watch this and the
- 1:00:14running gag is no one knows what to call because you know everyone calls the
- 1:00:18monster Frankenstein like that's 100 Years of 20th Century Cinema has just
- 1:00:23made that synonymous and that's part of it so he's like downstairs with
- 1:00:27Frankenstein they're like I thought you were Frankenstein he's like look happens
- 1:00:31enough that I just go with it now all right I have to watch it it's on
- 1:00:37Netflix you said one half hour episode is on Netflix Oh Netflix is warned us
- 1:00:44about password sharing same yeah it's warned us too it's happening it's
- 1:00:48happening yeah yeah yeah did you see like Prime videos response no you got a
- 1:00:53screen use it sure yeah I forget exactly what it was but they were like you're
- 1:00:59paying for a screen use your screens essentially what yeah yeah I guess if
- 1:01:04you you pay the five screen package it's not like you're getting less money but
- 1:01:08uh did you see Blockbuster Video tweeted
- 1:01:12and and said uh you know our policy was we didn't care how many people watched
- 1:01:16it as long as you brought it back on time yeah [ __ ] I paid a lot of money in late
- 1:01:22fees from uh video not block Right video easy though so Prime video
- 1:01:29UK they put up on their Instagram like who's watching and so this is response
- 1:01:33to Netflix and you how you can set up accounts and so they've got um who's
- 1:01:40watching everyone who has our password and a heart that was their response to
- 1:01:44Netflix down like yeah because Netflix did it first if Netflix hadn't done this
- 1:01:49Prime would be cracking down just as much as anyone else but now they're
- 1:01:52going for that that anti Crackdown dollar look think this is a weird thing
- 1:01:56like if you're going to cuz with the screens like sometimes if you want 4K
- 1:02:01you're paying the higher package which comes with the extra screens you may not
- 1:02:04want those extra screens so why am I paying for those extra screens 20s a
- 1:02:08month I'm not allowed to use them either way want yeah if you want speaking of a
- 1:02:12monthly subscription fee um listeners if you haven't already head over to
- 1:02:18patreon.com multiple nerdgasm and um you
- 1:02:22can choose uh the $10 a month tier which gets you an extra bit of conversation
- 1:02:28every week um in today's Afterparty I'm going to tell you which of several
- 1:02:34accused Hollywood rapists are and are not officially sex criminals yeah so if
- 1:02:40you want to be part of that conversation it's all followup too impressive I think
- 1:02:43right all followup followup pretty dark game show that's
- 1:02:48how we roll yeah does it have a title this segment that you've invented for the
- 1:02:54Afterparty yeah not a rapist with a question mark with a question mark yeah
- 1:02:59the little upward inflection yeah yeah either it's a question or you're
- 1:03:06Australian or both or both in this case yeah yeah that's all for this week thank
- 1:03:12you for listening and we hope you enjoyed the show if you enjoyed it then please
- 1:03:18subscribe and item to receive episodes
- 1:03:22automatically we'll see you next time
