- 0:00Speaker 1: You just heard the news.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Now you'll find out what it all means. He smarts,
- 0:06Speaker 2: amone on seven Tenor Hey, it's Friday. It's gonna be
- 0:14Speaker 2: a beautiful weekend, bright sunshine today, it's gonna be nice
- 0:17Speaker 2: at all weekend. Make up for last weekend. A lot
- 0:19Speaker 2: to get you today. We'll get you all caught up
- 0:21Speaker 2: on everything. I'll give you some inside details nobody else has,
- 0:24Speaker 2: and you'll sound much smarter tonight. Take notes, you'll and
- 0:27Speaker 2: you'll know all kinds of stuff by the time we're done.
- 0:32Speaker 2: And so President Trump waiting to take a look at
- 0:35Speaker 2: this Iran deal. A deal has been reached. Not a
- 0:39Speaker 2: good deal because it doesn't look like it solves the
- 0:42Speaker 2: nuclear problem. It sounds like it kicks the can down
- 0:45Speaker 2: the road a few weeks. But why the delay, I mean,
- 0:49Speaker 2: it doesn't sound good to me. Why even think about it? Well,
- 0:53Speaker 2: there's all kinds of voices in his head right now,
- 0:55Speaker 2: he's got to straighten this out. In fact, he's not
- 0:58Speaker 2: going away this weekend. Usually does. He'll stay at the
- 1:01Speaker 2: White House all weekend and work on this. All these
- 1:03Speaker 2: voices in his head. You know, the military guys, the
- 1:06Speaker 2: State Department guys, the Jared kind of guys. They're all
- 1:12Speaker 2: telling them what to do, so he's got to sort
- 1:13Speaker 2: this all out in his head. The deal would be
- 1:17Speaker 2: pretty good except two major things. One, they still have
- 1:21Speaker 2: their nuclear dust, and it would reopen the straight of
- 1:25Speaker 2: horn Moose, which is not the best thing I know.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Gas prices are high, although they've come down sixteen cents
- 1:31Speaker 2: this past week. But as long as those streets are closed,
- 1:34Speaker 2: Iran is totally without revenue. Their economy is stalled, stopped,
- 1:40Speaker 2: no revenue coming in. And from what we're hearing, they
- 1:43Speaker 2: really only got about two weeks left to go before
- 1:46Speaker 2: they're totally out of everything, so they need some revenue
- 1:49Speaker 2: coming in now. As far as the nuclear dust, we
- 1:52Speaker 2: could get it. We could go pick it up. That's
- 1:55Speaker 2: got to be part of the final agreement that they
- 1:57Speaker 2: hand it over. There's three ways to do that. One
- 2:00Speaker 2: is they hand it over to us, We go in
- 2:03Speaker 2: and pick it up. We have teams that are experts
- 2:06Speaker 2: at doing that, getting it out of the ground. We
- 2:08Speaker 2: did it in Libya years ago. They know how to
- 2:11Speaker 2: do that. They get it out of the ground, they
- 2:12Speaker 2: bring it out of there. Option number two is we
- 2:16Speaker 2: go in there and destroy it where it is destroy
- 2:19Speaker 2: it within Iran, just wipe it out and destroy the stuff.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Number three is they would hand it to another country
- 2:26Speaker 2: to be eventually destroyed of it. But the problem is
- 2:28Speaker 2: the country is on the list, not countries we trust
- 2:32Speaker 2: Turkey of Russia, China, those sort of countries. So that's
- 2:36Speaker 2: the one problem the nuclear dust. The other problem is
- 2:38Speaker 2: once you open the Straight of horn Moose, Iran suddenly
- 2:40Speaker 2: has five hundred million dollars a day coming into the country.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Suddenly it has a lot of revenue coming in. Now
- 2:48Speaker 2: we're holding besides keeping the Straight closed and shutting down
- 2:52Speaker 2: their economy, we're holding their money. We've got it all
- 2:55Speaker 2: blocked up, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of billions of
- 2:59Speaker 2: dollars in a round money. Yesterday the press briefing Caroline Levitt,
- 3:03Speaker 2: Press Secretary on maternity leave, Scott Besson filled in was
- 3:07Speaker 2: asked about that the money.
- 3:09Speaker 3: It is a multifaceted agreement and nothing is going to
- 3:14Speaker 3: be on the table until we see the Strait of
- 3:16Speaker 3: Remoovese open and the Iranians agree that they have to
- 3:22Speaker 3: turn over the high Land rest ranium and that they
- 3:26Speaker 3: can't have a nuclear program.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't look like that's all in the agreement,
- 3:30Speaker 2: though obviously there's a lot of pressure from all the
- 3:34Speaker 2: other countries. We don't need the oil out of the
- 3:36Speaker 2: Strait of hor Mooves. We don't use oil from the
- 3:38Speaker 2: Straight of horn Moose, but the other countries do and
- 3:41Speaker 2: it does raise the worldwide price. China gets fifty percent
- 3:44Speaker 2: of its oil from the Strait of horn Moose. So
- 3:47Speaker 2: it's important to them that the other voices in the
- 3:49Speaker 2: President Trump's had. The Iranian government, such as it is,
- 3:53Speaker 2: is three pellars. It is the elected government, it is
- 3:57Speaker 2: the IRGC, and it is the clerics, and they are
- 4:01Speaker 2: having trouble communicating. So we are being patient. We do
- 4:07Speaker 2: not have unlimited patient. Yeah. Now the problem is, as
- 4:11Speaker 2: they say, our president's got a thousand voices in his head.
- 4:15Speaker 2: He's got to sort that out. And then they've got
- 4:16Speaker 2: to go to their president, who is the son of
- 4:19Speaker 2: the Ayatol, badly wounded in the initial bombings, and he's
- 4:24Speaker 2: deep in hiding somewhere like underground, a cave something like that,
- 4:28Speaker 2: so they need his sign off on it. And the
- 4:30Speaker 2: problem is apparently communicating with him, the Iranians. It's not
- 4:35Speaker 2: like you can text them or call him up. It's
- 4:37Speaker 2: not like you can go on zoom and talk to him.
- 4:39Speaker 2: He is buried underground or wherever you is. So apparently
- 4:43Speaker 2: they have to use a series of couriers who go
- 4:48Speaker 2: through the most remote, crazy stuff to get to him
- 4:50Speaker 2: and come back. So that's another reason for all these delays. Hey, yes,
- 4:54Speaker 2: Scott Bessant wasn't as good as the best at filling
- 4:57Speaker 2: in for the Press secretary was Rubio. He was dad slaying,
- 5:00Speaker 2: funny sharp jd Vance. Then did a couple of weeks.
- 5:05Speaker 2: They it was okay, he wasn't as good as Rubio,
- 5:08Speaker 2: but bessn't at a couple of good moments. They're asking
- 5:10Speaker 2: him about Gavin Newsom.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Governor Gavin Newsom has floated this idea of a one
- 5:15Speaker 3: hundred percent state tax on Californians who would received money
- 5:18Speaker 3: from President Trump's anti weaponization fund.
- 5:21Speaker 4: Your response to the Governor's call from from seven.
- 5:24Speaker 3: There's no cure for stupid.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Yeah, President Trump wants to set up that fund to
- 5:31Speaker 2: repay people that were, you know, just totally ruined by
- 5:35Speaker 2: the weaponization of government. So Newsom said he'll put one
- 5:38Speaker 2: hundred percent tax. In other words, he'll seize all the
- 5:40Speaker 2: money there's no cure for stupid. I like that. I
- 5:44Speaker 2: like that. So that's the thing that these Democrats. They
- 5:47Speaker 2: yell and scream that the worst thing is greed. That's
- 5:50Speaker 2: the problem with America. Greed. Then they tell you give
- 5:54Speaker 2: us ninety percent of your money, give me ninety percent
- 5:56Speaker 2: of your income. So bestent not bad yet yesterday, lots
- 6:02Speaker 2: of stuff going on with Joe Biden. You're going to
- 6:03Speaker 2: see a big Joe Biden weekend. The reason is Jill
- 6:06Speaker 2: Biden has a book coming out. Joe Biden has a
- 6:08Speaker 2: book coming out. There's no interest in the Bidens from anybody,
- 6:12Speaker 2: Republican or Democrats, so they're trying to drum up some controversy,
- 6:17Speaker 2: some interest. That's why you'll see this. Jill Biden interviews
- 6:21Speaker 2: CBS this Sunday where she said she was watching the
- 6:24Speaker 2: debate the way Joe was, she thought he was having
- 6:29Speaker 2: a stroke. Now this is a lie. People ask was
- 6:32Speaker 2: she lying back then or she lying now? She's lying now.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Joe was like that all the time. He was always
- 6:37Speaker 2: like a frozen vegetable, doesn't know what he's saying or
- 6:40Speaker 2: where he is. So the reason she's saying, oh, I
- 6:43Speaker 2: thought he was having a stroke is to make it
- 6:44Speaker 2: sound like it was so unusual that behavior that she
- 6:49Speaker 2: was horrified. That was the way he was every day,
- 6:53Speaker 2: every day. So she's lying now. Now, remember he's the
- 6:57Speaker 2: president of the United States. During that debate, he's all
- 6:59Speaker 2: screwed up, can't talk, can't finish a sentence. She thinks
- 7:02Speaker 2: he's having a stroke. The president United States always has
- 7:05Speaker 2: a doctor. President in that big entourage, there's always a doctor.
- 7:09Speaker 2: There's a great medical facility right in the White House.
- 7:12Speaker 2: That can go right back to the White House where
- 7:13Speaker 2: there's a whole team of doctors. They could go right
- 7:16Speaker 2: to Walter Reed where there's a presidential ring wing filled
- 7:20Speaker 2: with doctors. If you thought your husband was having a stroke,
- 7:26Speaker 2: if you really thought that, the second the debate was over,
- 7:29Speaker 2: you would take him immediately to a doctor, or you'd
- 7:31Speaker 2: go get a doctor from the entourage. He could come
- 7:34Speaker 2: right over. President Trump does that sometimes if if he's
- 7:38Speaker 2: on Air Force one and somebody's trying to talk to
- 7:40Speaker 2: him and they're coughing. You know, he's paranoid of germs,
- 7:43Speaker 2: doesn't want to get a cold. He goes go to
- 7:45Speaker 2: the doc, go right go down the hall, go the
- 7:47Speaker 2: third door and look go in there and I'll have
- 7:49Speaker 2: the doctor check him out before he continues talking to him.
- 7:52Speaker 2: So she didn't take him to the doctor. She didn't
- 7:55Speaker 2: get the doctor to take a look at him. She
- 7:57Speaker 2: thinks he's having a stroke. There's doctors around, doesn't have
- 8:00Speaker 2: them look at him. Instead, Remember what she did after
- 8:02Speaker 2: the debate. Remember she went on TV and he was Joe,
- 8:05Speaker 2: you were brilliant, answered everything perfectly, and then she took
- 8:08Speaker 2: him to a party at the waffle House. If you
- 8:12Speaker 2: thought he was having a stroke, would you take into
- 8:14Speaker 2: a big, crowded, noisy party. Absolutely not. So she's lying.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Now Biden's lie about everything all the time. Now here's
- 8:23Speaker 2: what's the real problem for the Biden's Nobody anywhere is
- 8:29Speaker 2: defending them. Nobody is defending them, Nobody from their administration,
- 8:34Speaker 2: nobody anywhere publicly. They've got absolutely no support from any
- 8:39Speaker 2: But we've never seen this with the next president. Even Nixon,
- 8:43Speaker 2: who resigned in disgrace, had people defending him. There were
- 8:48Speaker 2: a lot of people defending him, but there's nobody anywhere,
- 8:53Speaker 2: Republican or Democrat, defending Joe Biden. And remember there's a
- 8:58Speaker 2: lot of his peace that he hired, He made their
- 9:01Speaker 2: career as Kareem, John Pierre, others, you know, people like that.
- 9:05Speaker 2: He put them on the map, and they're now on MSNBC,
- 9:08Speaker 2: they're on CNN even they're not defending him. One of
- 9:12Speaker 2: the reasons is they well, two reasons why they can't
- 9:14Speaker 2: stand the guy. He was a nasty, nasty guy behind
- 9:17Speaker 2: the scenes, nasty, vicious, cursing, screaming, and everybody, even the
- 9:21Speaker 2: New York Times was forced to write an article about
- 9:24Speaker 2: that once. But the other problem is, back then, they
- 9:27Speaker 2: were all defending him. They were all lying and covering
- 9:29Speaker 2: up for him, saying he's fine. Remember Gavin Newsom. Remember
- 9:33Speaker 2: Newsom said I talked to him all the time, sharpest
- 9:36Speaker 2: can be. Remember Joe Scarborough's famous clip, the best smartest
- 9:40Speaker 2: of Biden ever. So they were all lying, and they
- 9:43Speaker 2: don't ever want to talk about it. They don't ever
- 9:45Speaker 2: want to bring it up again. Remember you remember that
- 9:49Speaker 2: crazy Chris Coons who back then, Coons going on and
- 9:55Speaker 2: on about how sharp Biden was. Let's hear him now.
- 9:58Speaker 4: I was with President earlier today.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Okay, this is how much he lied back then. This
- 10:03Speaker 2: is Chris Coon's back then.
- 10:05Speaker 4: I was with President Biden earlier today. We are at
- 10:08Speaker 4: the funeral of a friend of ours, someone who long
- 10:10Speaker 4: served as the mayor of Wilmington, and he's fine. I
- 10:14Speaker 4: see regular incidents where President Trump falls asleep in meetings
- 10:18Speaker 4: in the middle of the day. Makes no sense.
- 10:21Speaker 2: In answering questions, he makes no sense. He'll stand there
- 10:26Speaker 2: and do a press comments for two hours and twenty
- 10:28Speaker 2: minutes make perfect sense. The falling asleep again, I know
- 10:31Speaker 2: a lot of billionaires. They all fall asleep at the table.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Why they never sleep. They're up all night and if
- 10:37Speaker 2: they sleep at night, they sleep for an hour. They
- 10:39Speaker 2: get up there on the phone, the computer, they go
- 10:42Speaker 2: back to sleep, there, get up, they just keep getting up.
- 10:45Speaker 2: It's like almost like sleep apnea. Then they're falling asleep
- 10:48Speaker 2: during the day. But it's not a sign of anything. Hey,
- 10:52Speaker 2: the Israeli Day Parade is this Sunday. It's a wonderful
- 10:55Speaker 2: important event in New York. No mayor has ever skipped
- 10:58Speaker 2: that parade. It's too important, has too much meaning. You
- 11:01Speaker 2: can't skip that parade. But now we got crazy anti Semitic,
- 11:08Speaker 2: anti israel mom Donnie. He's going to be the first mayor.
- 11:12Speaker 2: And I think since the parade began to skip the parade.
- 11:17Speaker 2: He will not be at the Israeli DA parade. This
- 11:20Speaker 2: is a terrible thing. It's just awful. Mom, Donnie tried
- 11:25Speaker 2: to explain it.
- 11:26Speaker 5: I sat on the campaign trail that I wouldn't be
- 11:29Speaker 5: attending the parade, and I've made my views on the
- 11:32Speaker 5: Israel government abundantly clear. And I also said on that
- 11:35Speaker 5: same campaign that I would have a responsibility as the
- 11:39Speaker 5: mayor of the city to ensure the safety and security
- 11:42Speaker 5: of each and every New Yorker.
- 11:43Speaker 2: All Right, so supposedly it's safe. You got the Police
- 11:46Speaker 2: Department saying it's safe. Commissioner Jessica Tish not only says
- 11:50Speaker 2: it safe, she said she will march in the parade herself.
- 11:53Speaker 2: As she actually said, I will proudly march in the parade.
- 11:58Speaker 2: So I think you can be Yeah, I think he
- 12:01Speaker 2: can be sure. It'll be a very very safe parade. Mom, Donnie,
- 12:05Speaker 2: not going it's an insult to Israel. But on the
- 12:07Speaker 2: other hand, it's kind of a blessing because everybody can't
- 12:09Speaker 2: stand him. Nobody really wants him there. Remember, he's not
- 12:13Speaker 2: going to go because and he says he doesn't support Israel,
- 12:16Speaker 2: he thinks they're He just spews out these crazy things.
- 12:19Speaker 2: He said, they're committing genocide, all kinds of crazy anti
- 12:22Speaker 2: Semitic nonsense. But the other problem is, and I'm sure
- 12:25Speaker 2: he's talked about this with his staff, maybe they thought
- 12:27Speaker 2: of going, but he'll get booed like crazy. So what's
- 12:31Speaker 2: the point even if he wanted to be big about
- 12:33Speaker 2: it and go, He's just going to get booed like crazy.
- 12:38Speaker 2: He was also asked President Trump is going to come
- 12:41Speaker 2: to the Knicks game the championship series. No president has
- 12:44Speaker 2: ever gone to a NBA championship, but Trump will. He
- 12:48Speaker 2: was the first president to go to a super Bowl.
- 12:50Speaker 2: He'll go to the NBA Championship. Mom, Donnie is sort
- 12:53Speaker 2: of a nick fan. He will go. And they asked
- 12:55Speaker 2: will he sit with the president? And he kind of
- 12:58Speaker 2: hemmed and had about it. But you know, again, I
- 13:02Speaker 2: know you're filled with hate for Israel, hate for this,
- 13:04Speaker 2: hate for that, But you're you're the mayor, supposed to
- 13:06Speaker 2: sit with the president, supposed to work with the president,
- 13:09Speaker 2: get money, get deals, get stuff for New York. Kathy
- 13:13Speaker 2: Hokel so embarrassing for her when Trump talked about going
- 13:17Speaker 2: to the Knicks game. Being Kathy Hokle, she just knee jerk,
- 13:21Speaker 2: gave a stupid reaction, made a dumb comment. He claims
- 13:25Speaker 2: he's a Nick fan. Let's see him name the starting Well,
- 13:28Speaker 2: I guess she just assumed he's always in her mind,
- 13:30Speaker 2: he's always lying, he's not a Knicks fan, and typical
- 13:34Speaker 2: Kathy Hokle. Never checked the facts, never do any homework,
- 13:37Speaker 2: never do any research. If you did a little research,
- 13:40Speaker 2: you'd find out Trump is a huge Knicks fan, always
- 13:43Speaker 2: has been. Ever since she made that dumb comment, people
- 13:46Speaker 2: are posting online hundreds of pictures of Trump at Nick games,
- 13:51Speaker 2: sitting in the front row with lots of Nick games,
- 13:53Speaker 2: so you can find him online. Is the picture of
- 13:55Speaker 2: him sitting with Bill O'Reilly at the Knicks game. Picture
- 13:57Speaker 2: him with JFK. Junior right before the crew at a
- 14:00Speaker 2: Knicks game. Picture him with John McEnroe at a Knicks game.
- 14:05Speaker 2: He's always always been a Knicks fan. Many, many, many
- 14:09Speaker 2: pictures at Knicks games, and some of them are out
- 14:12Speaker 2: of town, which means he traveled to go see a
- 14:15Speaker 2: Knicks game. And I remember he had the Knicks on
- 14:18Speaker 2: the Apprentice, talked about them a lot. You can you
- 14:21Speaker 2: can be sure he was always a huge Knicks fan.
- 14:25Speaker 2: So anyway, we've got a lot to get to this morning.
- 14:28Speaker 2: We'll get to sixty Minutes. They had the blood baths,
- 14:31Speaker 2: started cleaning house, getting rid of all those people they're
- 14:34Speaker 2: yelling and screaming. Ratings are up nine percent from last year. Yeah,
- 14:39Speaker 2: but they're down like fifty percent from where they were.
- 14:42Speaker 2: So and the other reason they're up nine percent this year,
- 14:46Speaker 2: you're on right after football. You know, if you do,
- 14:48Speaker 2: if you separate it half the time, Sixty Minutes is
- 14:51Speaker 2: on right after a big football game, and the ratings
- 14:53Speaker 2: are big. Separate the games where there was no football.
- 14:57Speaker 2: It's a it's a whole different story there. So they'll
- 15:00Speaker 2: they'll keep cleaning house there. But we'll get to that
- 15:03Speaker 2: coming up. We'll get to Dot Cake, We'll get to
- 15:06Speaker 2: a whole lot more. Just ahead, Hey, we'll take some
- 15:09Speaker 2: calls next. Eight hundred three to two one zero seven
- 15:12Speaker 2: ten is the number. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 15:16Speaker 2: seven ten. Get instant access to Mark by setting a
- 15:20Speaker 2: freeset in the iHeartRadio app for his live show and
- 15:24Speaker 2: his podcast.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Now back to the Mark Simone Show on wr.
- 15:31Speaker 2: Hey, we'll take some calls. Eight hundred three two one
- 15:34Speaker 2: zero seven ten is the number eight hundred three two
- 15:37Speaker 2: one zero seven ten. Let's go to Joe in New Jersey. Joe,
- 15:43Speaker 2: how you doing? Wait a minute, let me push it again. Joe,
- 15:48Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 15:49Speaker 6: Good morning, Mark? How are you good?
- 15:52Speaker 1: Mark?
- 15:53Speaker 6: Talking about the agreement? Everything? Everything? Two weeks two weeks,
- 15:57Speaker 6: they're running out of our storage facility. When is the
- 16:01Speaker 6: straight Scoop going to come out?
- 16:02Speaker 2: It's already out, it's already been out there. They are
- 16:08Speaker 2: out of storage facilities. They got about maybe another week
- 16:11Speaker 2: and a half where they're totally out of revenue. And
- 16:14Speaker 2: the problem is when you're out of storage facilities. Straight
- 16:18Speaker 2: at hor Moose Clothes, they can't export their oil when
- 16:20Speaker 2: you're out of storage facilities. What they've been doing, they're
- 16:24Speaker 2: actually out. They've actually ran out about about three now,
- 16:28Speaker 2: about four weeks ago. They ran out of storage space,
- 16:31Speaker 2: so they were using tankers. They would take all these
- 16:33Speaker 2: tankers and load them up with oil. So instead of
- 16:36Speaker 2: the storage space the tanks, they were putting them on
- 16:39Speaker 2: these tankers. And it looks like they just about run
- 16:42Speaker 2: out of tankers now, so they don't have any more
- 16:45Speaker 2: tankers to store them on. So they really needed to
- 16:47Speaker 2: open because once you are totally out of storage space.
- 16:50Speaker 2: You got to shut down the wells, and once you
- 16:52Speaker 2: shut them down, they dry up and it can take
- 16:55Speaker 2: a year to get them going again. Let's go to
- 16:57Speaker 2: Mike in Florida. Mike, how you doing?
- 17:00Speaker 6: Good morning? Mark?
- 17:01Speaker 1: Yes, Mike, I had a Sinatra question for you too.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Actually one how many times was he on Carson? Were
- 17:07Speaker 1: they friends? And I was recently on YouTube scrolling through
- 17:13Speaker 1: stuff and I came across a couple of videos with
- 17:15Speaker 1: him with the singer Dagmark. What was the story behind that.
- 17:21Speaker 2: I'll start with Carson. Yeah, he started with Carson. He
- 17:24Speaker 2: was on in nineteen sixty four, Joey Bishop was the
- 17:27Speaker 2: guest host, came on with Sammy Davis. He was then
- 17:30Speaker 2: on again in late sixty five, came on with Dean Martin.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Then next time was the famous remember he was a
- 17:41Speaker 2: guest and Don Rickles came on. Surprised him. Yes, go
- 17:45Speaker 2: watch it on YouTube Sinatra Rickles. That was the other time,
- 17:48Speaker 2: and then one time he filled in as a guest host.
- 17:51Speaker 6: Oh really that one. I didn't know.
- 17:53Speaker 2: It's up on YouTube. He filled in as a guest
- 17:55Speaker 2: host and Rickles was a guest I'm Carol O'Connor and
- 17:58Speaker 2: Angie Dickenson.
- 18:00Speaker 6: He wasn't.
- 18:00Speaker 2: It's a great show because the Rickles and everything, But
- 18:02Speaker 2: he wasn't the best host. He's not a talk show.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Dagmar was. It was an interesting period. Sinatra superstar in
- 18:11Speaker 2: the forties, singing the great standards, the great Gershwin, cold Portis.
- 18:15Speaker 2: And then there's remember Mitch.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Miller, Yes, yeah, he was like Columbia Records, Capitol Records.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Well, Columbia. He becomes the president of Columbia. Some people
- 18:23Speaker 2: blame him, some people it wasn't his fault. That was
- 18:25Speaker 2: happening anyway. All of a sudden, the trend was, no
- 18:27Speaker 2: more of these serious things, novelty records. How much is
- 18:30Speaker 2: that doggie in the window? That kind of nonsense. So
- 18:34Speaker 2: they Mitch Miller was the head of Columbia. That was
- 18:37Speaker 2: Sinatra's recording. He made Sinatra record that stuff. And the
- 18:40Speaker 2: worst one was with Dagmar, who was a TV star
- 18:43Speaker 2: at that time. It was called Mama Will Bark Where
- 18:48Speaker 2: they bark, They bark like a dog on there, and
- 18:53Speaker 2: it ruined Sinatra's career. Now, a lot of people blame
- 18:55Speaker 2: Mitch Miller for rock and roll, believe it or not.
- 18:57Speaker 2: Back then, they said, if it hadn't been for the
- 19:00Speaker 2: recording industry going silly with the stupid novelty songs, rock
- 19:04Speaker 2: and roll wouldn't have been able to rise up and
- 19:05Speaker 2: take over, which it do.
- 19:07Speaker 6: That's interesting theory.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I don't know if that's true, but.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a theory.
- 19:12Speaker 6: Now.
- 19:12Speaker 2: One day I was with Sinatra the lobby of the Walldorf.
- 19:16Speaker 2: You know how that lobby is like a mile long,
- 19:18Speaker 2: like from Park all the elections about five miles away.
- 19:23Speaker 2: In that lobby, I see an old guy walk and
- 19:24Speaker 2: I realized it's Mitch Miller, and I said to Sa,
- 19:28Speaker 2: that's Mitch Miller. He goes what? And as he got closer,
- 19:31Speaker 2: Mitch Miller sees Frank Sinatter. This is forty years league
- 19:34Speaker 2: is Frank? How are you? And Sinatra goes keep walking.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Pal not one to hold the grudge, you know, you
- 19:42Speaker 2: gotta give him credit. That's a great guy, a man
- 19:45Speaker 2: of principal holds the grudge. As somebody said he when
- 19:48Speaker 2: he had the Alzheimer's, he said, it's Sicilian Alzheimer's. He
- 19:51Speaker 2: only remembers the grudges. So all right, thanks for calling Mike.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn, Vincent, how you doing.
- 20:00Speaker 6: Good morning Mark, Good morning matter. And also Mitch Miller
- 20:03Speaker 6: made all those records. He had that TV show. Yeah
- 20:06Speaker 6: along with Mitch.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that's he came.
- 20:08Speaker 6: He had all those Mitch Miller records, which my father
- 20:12Speaker 6: Braclay who he had every one of them. Market's really
- 20:16Speaker 6: great that you're doing the Lincoln Tech commercials, And last
- 20:20Speaker 6: night I got to think, and that's great that there's
- 20:22Speaker 6: a company picking up the slack of trades that they
- 20:27Speaker 6: used to teach in New York City vocational schools that
- 20:31Speaker 6: now all they teach this walk nonsense. These kids run
- 20:35Speaker 6: up a quarter of a million dollar college bill and
- 20:39Speaker 6: they can't even come out and get a good job.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Yeah, no, Vincent, that's why we love Lincoln Tech. These
- 20:45Speaker 2: kind of schools, and they're the best of them. But
- 20:47Speaker 2: these kind of schools so important. You know, even even
- 20:51Speaker 2: professors tell me forty percent of the kids in college
- 20:53Speaker 2: shouldn't be in college. They should be in a tech
- 20:55Speaker 2: school learn the real trade. You go to a fancy college,
- 20:58Speaker 2: you end up with a degree in gender studies, and
- 21:01Speaker 2: you live in your parents' house for the next ten years.
- 21:03Speaker 2: You come out of Lincoln Tech, you got a skill.
- 21:05Speaker 2: You're a plumber, electrician, hvac whatever. You go right to
- 21:08Speaker 2: work and you're making a lot of money.
- 21:10Speaker 6: And it's really said that they once used to teach
- 21:13Speaker 6: this stuff in the trade schools. I mean probably these
- 21:17Speaker 6: kids they won't even know how to use a hammer
- 21:20Speaker 6: the school driver. They probably break their fingers. And another
- 21:24Speaker 6: thing I want to say, who is the woman on
- 21:27Speaker 6: woah who does the commercial for your Fishtails restaurants and
- 21:32Speaker 6: she does all the raw Astarino commercials. What a great voice.
- 21:37Speaker 2: You don't know who that is?
- 21:40Speaker 6: No, who is it?
- 21:41Speaker 2: Well the great radio stars. That's Maria Melito of Q
- 21:45Speaker 2: one oh four.
- 21:46Speaker 6: What a great what a great voice. I mean along
- 21:50Speaker 6: with your great Poto radio voice. What a great soothing,
- 21:57Speaker 6: calming voice. I just have to complement on that, along
- 22:03Speaker 6: with the great Lincoln Tech commercial.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Yeah, but Maria Alito's a big radio start, so on
- 22:07Speaker 2: Q and O four s's on right after Jim Kurve's
- 22:09Speaker 2: got an incredible voice. She's been on for years. Maria Milo.
- 22:13Speaker 6: I just had the compliment it because I also listen
- 22:17Speaker 6: when I listened to Rob Bastarino Show and some of
- 22:20Speaker 6: the other shows, I noticed it. He says, Hey, that's the
- 22:22Speaker 6: same voice and she does during yours. Later in the day,
- 22:27Speaker 6: she does the commercials for that restaurant.
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah, well, we don't full around. I mean, we got
- 22:32Speaker 2: some top voice over guys, but we also use some
- 22:34Speaker 2: of the best radio voice We use jim My Compliments.
- 22:38Speaker 2: All right, Vincent, great call, thanks for calling. We got
- 22:41Speaker 2: to take a break for the news. We'll talk to
- 22:42Speaker 2: the brilliant economists, smartest guy around, John Carney. He'll be
- 22:47Speaker 2: with us next on seven to ten WR. The Mark
- 22:52Speaker 2: Simone Show continues on sevent ten wor Well, we bring
- 22:58Speaker 2: you the smartest people are around. John Karney, the business
- 23:02Speaker 2: editor at breit Bart Bright. Breke Bart Business Digest is
- 23:05Speaker 2: something you should be reading every day. You know, breke
- 23:08Speaker 2: bart dot com. But we go to Breitbart dot com,
- 23:10Speaker 2: go to the Business Digest. Smartest people Scott Bess and
- 23:14Speaker 2: Larry Cudler, it's the first thing they read every morning,
- 23:17Speaker 2: breke Bart Business Digest. And when you go to Breitbart
- 23:21Speaker 2: dot com, go to Newsletters, click on that and then
- 23:24Speaker 2: sign up for the Business Digest. It's free. It'll come
- 23:26Speaker 2: write to your email every day. John Carney, how you
- 23:30Speaker 2: doing very good?
- 23:32Speaker 7: Thanks for having me Mark.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Hey, I'm watching the Morning Joe. Apparently the whole economy
- 23:37Speaker 2: is in ruins, the brink of recession. The inflation numbers
- 23:42Speaker 2: came out, It's disaster. What's the real story.
- 23:46Speaker 7: So, yeah, we're not anywhere near on the brink of
- 23:53Speaker 7: In fact, the numbers that came out yesterday, Yes, inflation
- 23:56Speaker 7: picked up, and that's not great. Mostly it's gasoline because
- 24:01Speaker 7: of the strait of her moves. But the thing that's
- 24:03Speaker 7: really striking about it is that it hasn't actually taken
- 24:08Speaker 7: away from spending elsewhere in the economy. One of my
- 24:11Speaker 7: fears personally was that because people were having to put
- 24:15Speaker 7: so much money into their gas tanks that it might
- 24:18Speaker 7: they might start to pull back in other spending. But
- 24:20Speaker 7: we're not seeing that. The personal they called the personal
- 24:24Speaker 7: consumption expenditures, but basically consumer spending really showed that people
- 24:31Speaker 7: continue to spend money at all across the economy and
- 24:36Speaker 7: that so far we're actually not seeing as much damage
- 24:40Speaker 7: as even you know, I'm pretty bullish on this Trump economy,
- 24:44Speaker 7: but this was better that I thought it would be.
- 24:48Speaker 7: You know, I'm not surprised, you know, Morning Joe, the
- 24:50Speaker 7: rest of it. Then I saw a pull recently fifty
- 24:53Speaker 7: five percent of Democrats think were already universe sessions. So
- 24:57Speaker 7: of course, you know, like you're going to see that
- 24:59Speaker 7: kind of stuff in the legacy media.
- 25:02Speaker 2: Yeah, well, yess like when you read the New York
- 25:03Speaker 2: has finished, everybody's left. I'm looking at the housing numbers.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Rentals are up through the roof, condo sales are through
- 25:10Speaker 2: the roof.
- 25:11Speaker 7: So you can't you can't walk down Sixth Avenue in
- 25:14Speaker 7: Midtown like well, you know, it's the streets are so
- 25:17Speaker 7: crowded in New York's not there.
- 25:18Speaker 2: No, Now we got a new FED chairman. When does
- 25:22Speaker 2: he actually start to do anything.
- 25:25Speaker 7: Yeah, so he's in office. Uh, he's hopefully right now
- 25:31Speaker 7: rearranging the parking spots and putting Jerome Powell you know
- 25:36Speaker 7: at the furthest Away parking spot. You know, just he
- 25:40Speaker 7: The thing that one of the things people don't realize
- 25:43Speaker 7: is that the chairman of the FED actually does a
- 25:45Speaker 7: lot more than just interest rate policy. You know, yes,
- 25:49Speaker 7: he's part of the Federal Open Marcus Committee, but there
- 25:52Speaker 7: are thousands of people who work for the FED, including
- 25:55Speaker 7: a lot of economists. They have really important jobs. One
- 25:58Speaker 7: of the things I hope he's doing right now is
- 26:02Speaker 7: checking who are these guys right? They are instrumental in
- 26:06Speaker 7: formulating economic policy in the United States, and we really
- 26:11Speaker 7: need to find out. Larry Tablow quotes this poll that
- 26:17Speaker 7: showed that something like ninety percent of the political donations
- 26:21Speaker 7: from FED employees go to Democrats. That's a big problem.
- 26:26Speaker 7: It shouldn't be like that. We need he So I
- 26:29Speaker 7: hope that when you know that, one of the things
- 26:31Speaker 7: Kevin's doing right now, you know there's not another meeting
- 26:34Speaker 7: for a little while, you know about interest rates. But
- 26:38Speaker 7: what he should be doing right now is taking a
- 26:40Speaker 7: look at the personnel at the FED and making sure
- 26:43Speaker 7: that they haven't been doing anything like locking out Republican economists.
- 26:48Speaker 2: Now, the awful FED chairman, Jerome Powell has not stepped down.
- 26:52Speaker 2: He looks like he's going to remain on the board.
- 26:54Speaker 2: What actual power influence can he have on that board.
- 26:59Speaker 7: So the thing is that the FED chairman is really
- 27:03Speaker 7: only can lead by consensus. He has to bring people around,
- 27:06Speaker 7: and it's one of the reasons why former chairman never
- 27:10Speaker 7: stay on the board. Powell is the first guy to
- 27:13Speaker 7: do this in sixty years. The reason why they always
- 27:17Speaker 7: lead is to let the new chairman lead the board,
- 27:20Speaker 7: Powell will have a vote on the interest rate policies.
- 27:23Speaker 7: He will have an influence over the other people who
- 27:26Speaker 7: are on the FED. I don't think it's really responsible
- 27:29Speaker 7: for him to stay on, but I'm not sure it'll
- 27:32Speaker 7: make that big of a difference right now. Look, as
- 27:34Speaker 7: I said in the beginning, the inflation numbers are going up.
- 27:39Speaker 7: The Fed is not going to cut interest rates. As
- 27:42Speaker 7: long as the inflation is on the way up, they're
- 27:46Speaker 7: going to have to come down. I don't think we're
- 27:48Speaker 7: going to see that for quite.
- 27:50Speaker 2: A few months.
- 27:51Speaker 7: So if I'm Kevin Warsh, what I would be doing
- 27:55Speaker 7: right now is laying out the groundwork for how he
- 27:59Speaker 7: thinks monitor car policies should be. Don't worry about whether
- 28:02Speaker 7: you can cut interest rates at this meeting or the
- 28:04Speaker 7: next meeting. That's actually doesn't make that big of a difference.
- 28:08Speaker 7: The longer term approach the Fed takes is really what's
- 28:11Speaker 7: going to shape the economy. Everybody obsesses, right, will they
- 28:13Speaker 7: cut this meeting or is it going to be September, November, December. Look,
- 28:19Speaker 7: what really matters is the long term path of interest
- 28:22Speaker 7: rates and the long term policy of the Fed. That's
- 28:25Speaker 7: what Kevin worre should concentrate on and we can worry
- 28:27Speaker 7: about you know, when they cut interest rates, that's probably
- 28:30Speaker 7: not going to happen.
- 28:31Speaker 2: I explain that a little to people because every people
- 28:33Speaker 2: think that's the most important thing, interest rates raising or look,
- 28:36Speaker 2: it's not the most important thing.
- 28:39Speaker 7: No it's not. And the especially the timing of when
- 28:43Speaker 7: they raise it or when they lower it. What really
- 28:46Speaker 7: matters is whether the Fed. One of the big problems
- 28:49Speaker 7: the FED has had over the last I would say
- 28:52Speaker 7: two decades is that they've really been suspicious of economic growth.
- 28:57Speaker 7: Whenever the economy really starts to take off, the FED
- 28:59Speaker 7: wordes that that somehow will be inflationary. Of course that's
- 29:04Speaker 7: not true at all. And by the way, they missed
- 29:06Speaker 7: the actual inflation problem we had, which happened under Joe Biden. Right,
- 29:09Speaker 7: so they've got it wrong. They let inflation get under
- 29:13Speaker 7: control under Joe Biden. Under Donald Trump in the first term,
- 29:16Speaker 7: they saw they started raising interest rates because growth started
- 29:18Speaker 7: to pick up. They need to break out of this model.
- 29:20Speaker 7: Economic growth doesn't cause inflation. That's the long term reform
- 29:25Speaker 7: we need is a model that doesn't sit right now.
- 29:28Speaker 7: The FED thinks we could grow at one point eight
- 29:30Speaker 7: to two percent. That's like the maximum they think is
- 29:33Speaker 7: the safe pace for the economy to grow. That's pathetic.
- 29:37Speaker 7: We can grow much faster than that, and the Fed
- 29:40Speaker 7: should not be tuning its policies to hold back growth
- 29:43Speaker 7: the way they have for twenty years now.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Yeah, John Connie Bright Business Digest, talk about AI for
- 29:50Speaker 2: a second. There's a lot of people that think everybody's
- 29:52Speaker 2: going to lose their job, that AO is going to
- 29:53Speaker 2: wipe us all out job wise. What's the real story.
- 29:57Speaker 7: So I don't think that's true at all. I maybe
- 30:01Speaker 7: a year or two ago I might have been a
- 30:03Speaker 7: little worried about this, but partly because you had all
- 30:06Speaker 7: these guys working on AI saying, oh, you know, we're
- 30:08Speaker 7: going to take everybody's job. In fact, in history, one
- 30:11Speaker 7: of the things that happens is when you increase the
- 30:14Speaker 7: productivity of workers, which is one of the things AI does,
- 30:18Speaker 7: you actually make more demand for workers because they can
- 30:21Speaker 7: get more done. So I actually think that there's going
- 30:24Speaker 7: to be there's an economic tournament's a paradox for this
- 30:28Speaker 7: where when part of the thing is is that when
- 30:32Speaker 7: you increase people's ability to produce more goods and services,
- 30:36Speaker 7: that actually doesn't decrease the amount of people you need doing.
- 30:40Speaker 7: It increases the amount of people because each person is
- 30:43Speaker 7: more productive. So I think we're actually going to see
- 30:47Speaker 7: a lot of demand for workers because of AI. Not
- 30:51Speaker 7: the jobs will shift, exactly what people will do doing
- 30:54Speaker 7: will shift. Frankly, a lot of people's jobs will be
- 30:57Speaker 7: made better because some of the work that they don't
- 31:01Speaker 7: like to do right now will be actually being done
- 31:04Speaker 7: by a digital AI assistant for them. But they're the
- 31:09Speaker 7: actual work. A lot of people have in their mind
- 31:12Speaker 7: this image of the economy where there's only so much
- 31:14Speaker 7: work to be done, and if enough of it is
- 31:16Speaker 7: done by robots or computers, then we won't do anymore.
- 31:19Speaker 7: I guarantee you that's not the way the economy works.
- 31:22Speaker 7: If it was, we would have stopped working four hundred
- 31:25Speaker 7: years ago when we you know what, we got really.
- 31:29Speaker 6: Good at farming.
- 31:30Speaker 7: Instead, what we did is we had an industrial revolution,
- 31:33Speaker 7: so you can you know, work will continue, and I
- 31:36Speaker 7: hate to break this tumor. Human beings will never run
- 31:40Speaker 7: out of work to do. I mean, we're just always
- 31:42Speaker 7: going to have to work, and that will be But
- 31:44Speaker 7: that's also good because it means we keep coming up
- 31:47Speaker 7: with new things that make our lives better.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Very encouraging. John Carney brilliant as always. And Breitbart Business Digest.
- 31:56Speaker 2: It's Monday through Friday, right that it comes out.
- 31:59Speaker 7: Monday through Friday, and you know, every now and then

- 32:10Speaker 7: little more lighthearted. We're going to talk in today's Weekly
- 32:14Speaker 7: Wrap about the two hundred and fifty dollars Trump bill
- 32:18Speaker 7: that they're talking about putting out, and Treasury Secretary Bessett
- 32:22Speaker 7: is giving a big speech out in California today. You're
- 32:24Speaker 7: going to be able to read about that at Brightbart.
- 32:26Speaker 7: It's going to be a fun one today.
- 32:27Speaker 2: It's worth putting out that bill. Just drive those Trump
- 32:30Speaker 2: haters crazy.
- 32:33Speaker 7: I can't wait to walk into like a liberal coffee shop,
- 32:38Speaker 7: pay for my coffee and two and fifty dollars well amazing.
