- 0:06Speaker 1: Hello, everybody, Welcome to the Give Them Lalla Podcast. It's
- 0:10Speaker 1: like an emotional day for me. I can't believe my
- 0:16Speaker 1: baby is one happy birthday.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Oh shit, this will come out the day after.
- 0:21Speaker 1: But yeah, we're recording today. How are you March fifteen?
- 0:24Speaker 2: Because I yeah, March fifteen.
- 0:26Speaker 3: I walked in here this morning and Lala is like,
- 0:28Speaker 3: I'm so emotional right now, and I said, why why
- 0:31Speaker 3: don't you tell us?
- 0:31Speaker 4: Why?
- 0:33Speaker 1: Because my my baby. It's been a year Like yesterday,
- 0:37Speaker 1: I was sitting there thinking, Okay, this is like when
- 0:40Speaker 1: I was in labor. This is literally the exact time
- 0:43Speaker 1: that I like got my IV this is what time
- 0:47Speaker 1: this happened. And then a year ago today at six
- 0:50Speaker 1: forty five am, I pushed out my little water baby.
- 0:53Speaker 2: I just got gooseby. I know, six forty five am.
- 0:56Speaker 2: So you had her, she was here, she's here baby.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Oh oh my god.
- 1:02Speaker 3: It's I mean, it's insane how much life can change
- 1:07Speaker 3: within a year.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I know, wild It's been the best year of my life.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Really, Okay, love that for you.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Yeah, like just having this beautiful baby, Who's the best
- 1:22Speaker 1: thing that's ever happened to me. Like, even though it's
- 1:26Speaker 1: been a year full of change, Like, yeah, that I
- 1:31Speaker 1: wasn't expecting. I don't think God makes mistakes. I don't
- 1:36Speaker 1: think the universe makes mistakes. I truly believe that. And
- 1:41Speaker 1: even though when we're placed in situations and it may
- 1:44Speaker 1: not make sense in the moment, there will be a
- 1:48Speaker 1: time that it does. And just as the days pass,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I realize, like my higher power has my back, and
- 1:58Speaker 1: more importantly, it has oceans back, you know. And she's
- 2:05Speaker 1: just like such an incredible baby, and I look at
- 2:09Speaker 1: her and know she's just gonna do like really incredible
- 2:20Speaker 1: things in this world. I just know it.
- 2:25Speaker 2: She was meant to be here.
- 2:26Speaker 1: She was. Yeah, she's just like and you know her
- 2:31Speaker 1: jass Like I know she's only one, but she's like
- 2:33Speaker 1: so curious and independent and like just such a bright spirit.
- 2:39Speaker 2: And so content.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Anytimes she's here, you're with her, Gigi's around, she'll just
- 2:45Speaker 3: sit watch people talking, just look around, curious about different things.
- 2:52Speaker 3: She's so good and sweet and like you look at
- 2:57Speaker 3: ocean and it's like that is goodness. That's like good,
- 3:01Speaker 3: that's like pure innocence and good and it's so and
- 3:05Speaker 3: I know that's in a lot of babies, of course,
- 3:08Speaker 3: but you know, people get older, and there's so much
- 3:11Speaker 3: shit that happens in this world and so many you know,
- 3:14Speaker 3: there's great things but also bad things. But then you
- 3:16Speaker 3: look at like these little innocent babies and a baby
- 3:20Speaker 3: like Ocean, and you're like, oh, there's like goodness, pure goodness.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Right, it's really beautiful.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Like all of these little ones just like embody everything
- 3:30Speaker 1: that's right in the world.
- 3:32Speaker 3: And you brought her like as a woman who's thirty,
- 3:37Speaker 3: I'm close to your age, Like I couldn't even imagine
- 3:42Speaker 3: bringing something into this world and being like, yes, look
- 3:45Speaker 3: I did this. How do you like? That's incredible, isn't it.
- 3:48Speaker 3: Do you ever just like stare at her and think that,
- 3:50Speaker 3: Oh I.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Stare at her daily. I cannot stop staring at her. Yeah,
- 3:55Speaker 1: and yes, I think, like, shit, I like made you.
- 4:03Speaker 1: And I'm one of those people that I've always been
- 4:05Speaker 1: this type of person where I'm like, all right, like
- 4:07Speaker 1: the dude like shot some sperm, good for you. Here's
- 4:10Speaker 1: your fucking gold star, like you know, like the mom
- 4:17Speaker 1: carried the baby, yeah for nine fucking months. Yeah, okay, hmm.
- 4:25Speaker 1: It's incredible.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I mean it's miraculous that even that word sounds like
- 4:31Speaker 3: so it doesn't do it justice. But like you felt, yes,
- 4:36Speaker 3: a human growing inside of you.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I don't know why.
- 4:39Speaker 3: It blows my mind, But the older I get, I'm like,
- 4:41Speaker 3: wait what.
- 4:42Speaker 1: You know what? I know? A doctor can sit here
- 4:44Speaker 1: and be like, well, this is how it happens. Why.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I'm like, bullshit, bullshit, it's a miracle.
- 4:51Speaker 4: Period.
- 4:52Speaker 1: You can give me your little scientific fact X Y
- 4:56Speaker 1: M plus two equals berth and I'm like, no incorrect.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah, yes, and then you give birth to this human
- 5:05Speaker 3: and then it feeds for some people from your body
- 5:09Speaker 3: or you just feed it like as you're holding this.
- 5:12Speaker 2: It's wild.
- 5:13Speaker 1: It relies on you.
- 5:14Speaker 2: It relies on you.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Yes, mothers are incredible, even if mothers don't carry their
- 5:21Speaker 1: own babies. Right. Yeah, there is something that happens to
- 5:25Speaker 1: a woman when she knows her baby is coming, no
- 5:28Speaker 1: matter how they get here.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 5:30Speaker 1: You can't fuck with them. I will tell you what. Yeah.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Her birthday party was over the weekend Ocean's birthday party.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Can we talk about it? Oh my god?
- 5:46Speaker 3: I was like Kyle, my boyfriend was like, wait, can
- 5:49Speaker 3: I have a can I turn one again?
- 5:51Speaker 2: Because like I need something like this.
- 5:53Speaker 1: It was it was fantastic. So I hired this company
- 5:57Speaker 1: called Picnic and Pedal and Glitz and Gather. Okay, so
- 6:02Speaker 1: I had heard amazing things. I told them what I wanted. Dude,
- 6:08Speaker 1: was it not insane? Ocean had a merch stage at
- 6:11Speaker 1: her birthday.
- 6:13Speaker 2: It was incredible.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And in case you I think they've posted photos their tags,
- 6:17Speaker 3: like their Instagram handle for Picnic and Pedal just at
- 6:20Speaker 3: Picnic Underscore and Underscore Pedal p E t A L
- 6:24Speaker 3: and then Glitz and gathers at.
- 6:26Speaker 2: G l I t z A n d g A t.
- 6:29Speaker 4: H e R.
- 6:30Speaker 3: But it was like my breath was taken away. Lala cried,
- 6:36Speaker 3: her mom cried, Oh I saw.
- 6:39Speaker 1: I couldn't believe it. Ocean's face was plastered everywhere. Ye
- 6:43Speaker 1: give them Ocean on merch. All of the kids had
- 6:46Speaker 1: so much fun.
- 6:47Speaker 3: They did.
- 6:48Speaker 1: The parents had fun, they really did. And I'm so
- 6:54Speaker 1: grateful for Jackson Brittany Yes letting me use their house
- 7:00Speaker 1: to throw Ocean her first birthday. They were so gracious
- 7:03Speaker 1: And it just goes to show like this group of
- 7:07Speaker 1: friends really is that tight knit. Yeah, we don't just
- 7:12Speaker 1: go on a TV screen together and like pretend like
- 7:14Speaker 1: we like each other. Like we're family. Yeah, and we
- 7:18Speaker 1: got a picture of all the babies, and you can
- 7:20Speaker 1: tell whose baby is who, just if you didn't even know.
- 7:24Speaker 1: You've got Summer Moon, who's like in the back because
- 7:26Speaker 1: she wouldn't sit still, just like Shena. Like I text
- 7:29Speaker 1: her yesterday, I was like, hey, do you want to
- 7:31Speaker 1: go to Universal for Ocean's birthday tomorrow? And she's like,
- 7:34Speaker 1: we're already back in San Diego. I'm like, what the fuck?
- 7:38Speaker 2: Just bopping everywhere, never.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Stays in one place. You've got crews who is just chilled,
- 7:43Speaker 1: like my little Kentucky muffin vibing. Ocean is zoned down
- 7:47Speaker 1: on whatever, Like she sees a shiny object and she's like,
- 7:49Speaker 1: what is it? How is it moving? What? I don't understand?
- 7:54Speaker 1: And then Hartford melting the fuck down because we told
- 7:59Speaker 1: her this is not your birthday, Hartford. She didn't like that.
- 8:03Speaker 3: I saw that photo and then I saw People Magazine
- 8:07Speaker 3: used it in their feature and I died.
- 8:09Speaker 2: I was like, this is the grit. I would get
- 8:11Speaker 2: that photo framed.
- 8:12Speaker 1: It needs to be framed, and Stossy. I kept telling
- 8:16Speaker 1: Stossy it's fine that she's crying, because we're going to
- 8:18Speaker 1: look back on this. In every photo that I have
- 8:21Speaker 1: with my two best friends that we were all born
- 8:24Speaker 1: at the same time, I'm sobby in every single ones
- 8:28Speaker 1: and every birthday they send me the photos.
- 8:31Speaker 2: And you know, I love that.
- 8:32Speaker 3: And you know what's amazing my mom and dad, who
- 8:35Speaker 3: have five kids, they said, when it's like hard to explain,
- 8:40Speaker 3: but your child, no matter what, has the essence and
- 8:44Speaker 3: the personality growing up becoming adults that they did when
- 8:48Speaker 3: they were babies.
- 8:48Speaker 2: So you guys are going to be able to look
- 8:50Speaker 2: at that.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Photo and be like, like in years, years years down
- 8:53Speaker 3: the road when their teens, when they're young adults, and
- 8:55Speaker 3: be like, wow, they have the same personalities. Yeah, like
- 8:59Speaker 3: this is of course this is the photo because this
- 9:02Speaker 3: is how they are now.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I know. I knew Ocean was a geniue.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I knew she was going to be a genius.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Yeah, she's like pondering ways to save the world.
- 9:12Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Well, and even when she's in her little jumper, like
- 9:15Speaker 1: she'll jump up and down and then she'll look up like,
- 9:18Speaker 1: how is this contraption holding me up and making me bounce?
- 9:22Speaker 2: Is she like future engineer?
- 9:24Speaker 1: She's a fucking genius. Rocket scientist, and she'll touch the
- 9:28Speaker 1: remote and look at the TV and then touch another
- 9:31Speaker 1: button and she's trying to figure out how is it happening?
- 9:36Speaker 3: Yeah, which is no, No, she is and you and she's.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So in my mind she's thinking that.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Well, it's a sign of intelligence when kids, so I've
- 9:47Speaker 3: heard I'm not a doctor, but when kids play by
- 9:49Speaker 3: themselves or in the corner and they're like being imaginative
- 9:53Speaker 3: and touching their toys and trying trying to figure them out.
- 9:56Speaker 3: And she's like lives life that way. Like you could
- 9:58Speaker 3: be in her face doing the thing and you play
- 10:00Speaker 3: with her constantly, but then like she's so content doing
- 10:03Speaker 3: her own thing.
- 10:04Speaker 1: She like she likes when I get in the playpen
- 10:07Speaker 1: with her. Yeah, obviously because it's fun. But for the
- 10:12Speaker 1: most part, I think she's looking at me like, you
- 10:14Speaker 1: don't belong here. Get out.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Excuse an mom, this is my space.
- 10:18Speaker 1: This is for children.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Yeah, what are you doing?
- 10:26Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 10:26Speaker 1: So yeah, that's the vibe. Ocean is one We're going
- 10:30Speaker 1: to universal today with Jackson Brittain.
- 10:32Speaker 3: Cruise so fun and really quick to take it back
- 10:35Speaker 3: to Jackson britt being awesome hosting it at their beautiful
- 10:38Speaker 3: home Britt had said to me we were at the
- 10:41Speaker 3: house and she said. I said something like, oh, do
- 10:44Speaker 3: you want me to move this over here? And Britt
- 10:46Speaker 3: looked at me and she goes, all I care about
- 10:48Speaker 3: is that Ocean has the best first birthday ever. That's
- 10:52Speaker 3: all I care about. So whatever you need to do.
- 10:53Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh, Like, what an amazing woman she was.
- 10:57Speaker 3: So she cared so much that Ocean and and had
- 11:00Speaker 3: the best day.
- 11:01Speaker 1: She was so cute because she was like, I made
- 11:03Speaker 1: sure that when you walked through the front door, you
- 11:06Speaker 1: were going to be surprised. And I was like, do
- 11:09Speaker 1: not allow her in the backyard until I'm down here,
- 11:12Speaker 1: because I know she's gonna cry.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Yeah I did cry, Gig did, and Gig cried, and
- 11:18Speaker 3: you had friends from home visiting.
- 11:19Speaker 1: Yeah, we were a sobby mess.
- 11:21Speaker 4: And my.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Best friend Canvas, we've been friends for over twenty five years.
- 11:27Speaker 1: When I was in kindergarten, I saw her and I
- 11:29Speaker 1: told my mom she's cute. I want to play with her.
- 11:33Speaker 1: And so my mom rolled up on her mom, Kristen,
- 11:35Speaker 1: and said, my daughter thinks your kid's cute. Can we
- 11:38Speaker 1: have a playdate? And we've all been best friends ever since.
- 11:41Speaker 1: But she Kristen said that during the happy birthday moment,
- 11:45Speaker 1: because I look over Kristin's sobbing during happy Birthday and
- 11:48Speaker 1: I'm like, I know, it's so sweet. But then she
- 11:50Speaker 1: told me later she was like, there was this light
- 11:53Speaker 1: that came in and it wasn't like coming from anywhere.
- 11:57Speaker 1: It was like this random, almost like a full ashlight,
- 12:00Speaker 1: like an orb that came through and like was surrounding
- 12:03Speaker 1: ocean that she saw. And I was like, oh my god,
- 12:06Speaker 1: my dad. I believe in that stuff, as you should,
- 12:09Speaker 1: but I felt it. I was like, there's no way
- 12:11Speaker 1: he's not here. That the room was full of so
- 12:14Speaker 1: much love. And there's so many times where I think, like,
- 12:18Speaker 1: you know, my poor kid. You know, she's already in
- 12:23Speaker 1: a quote unquote and it may just be in my
- 12:26Speaker 1: head in a broken home. And in that moment when
- 12:31Speaker 1: I was looking around him, like, my kid's not in
- 12:34Speaker 1: a broken anything. Look at the amount of love that
- 12:37Speaker 1: she's surrounded with. The men in her life who are there,
- 12:40Speaker 1: you know, bo my little brother, like these men who
- 12:44Speaker 1: like love and adore her. She's going to grow up
- 12:47Speaker 1: with that. She's going to grow up with amazing women
- 12:49Speaker 1: like my kid's gonna be fine. But as her mom,
- 12:53Speaker 1: I battle this guilty, you know, and I shouldn't because
- 12:57Speaker 1: I did nothing wrong.
- 12:58Speaker 3: If anything you did, in my opinion and probably many
- 13:01Speaker 3: people's opinion, something very right, right.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Yeah, And I will look back and I pray to
- 13:08Speaker 1: God every night. And I say that truthfully that I
- 13:11Speaker 1: pray to God every night, like, please allow me to
- 13:15Speaker 1: handle this the best way that I possibly can. Because
- 13:18Speaker 1: I'm in foreign territory. I don't understand, I don't know
- 13:21Speaker 1: what to do. There are times I may get petty,
- 13:25Speaker 1: there are times where I may overshare. I'm processing, and
- 13:31Speaker 1: I try to handle things the best way I can
- 13:35Speaker 1: while also protecting my kid. And I'll be the first
- 13:39Speaker 1: to admit I don't know if I'm doing it the
- 13:41Speaker 1: correct way. Yeah, but I know that if i'm not,
- 13:46Speaker 1: God in the universe will hold me accountable because they
- 13:48Speaker 1: always have and they always will.
- 13:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And I've told God this, I'm fine with you holding
- 13:54Speaker 1: me accountable. If I've fucked up or I make a
- 13:57Speaker 1: wrong decision. I know that you're up there and you're
- 14:00Speaker 1: gonna make sure that I pay for what I have done.
- 14:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:03Speaker 3: And I think the first one of the first the
- 14:06Speaker 3: first thing that shows me you are doing it the
- 14:08Speaker 3: right way is being like open to saying I don't
- 14:11Speaker 3: know if I'm doing it the right way. It's just
- 14:13Speaker 3: like people with opinions or hey, this is what I think,
- 14:17Speaker 3: but I'm willing to change my mind if I get
- 14:20Speaker 3: better information. I always think those people are the smartest
- 14:23Speaker 3: rather than being stuck in their ways and be like,
- 14:25Speaker 3: this is what I believe, and I'm gonna preach it
- 14:27Speaker 3: and I'm gonna tune everyone else out. And then I
- 14:30Speaker 3: look at you and you're like, I'm open to like
- 14:33Speaker 3: doing it the best way. I'm not gonna sit here
- 14:36Speaker 3: and say like, I'm doing it perfectly. No one tell
- 14:38Speaker 3: me otherwise. I'm gonna feel it or I'm open. I
- 14:43Speaker 3: just want to be the best mom I can be.
- 14:44Speaker 3: And I think that's amazing. And I think that it's
- 14:48Speaker 3: funny you said the term broken home. It's not funny,
- 14:51Speaker 3: it's people use it all the time. And I get
- 14:53Speaker 3: what you mean by like that is tech the technical definition.
- 14:57Speaker 3: But I watch so many my very best friend. I
- 15:02Speaker 3: watched her be a certain way and emotionally just traumatized
- 15:07Speaker 3: for years because of her parents' relationships and then around
- 15:11Speaker 3: her parents' relationship together. They were married and then in
- 15:14Speaker 3: eighth grade they got a divorce and I literally watched
- 15:17Speaker 3: her heal and become like the most beautiful content version
- 15:23Speaker 3: of herself, and that really showed me like, oh, no,
- 15:27Speaker 3: the bad decision is would be to force a child
- 15:32Speaker 3: or force a relationship that is causing pain for everyone
- 15:35Speaker 3: around them. May It's like, it's just life, isn't that
- 15:38Speaker 3: way anymore. There's healthy co parenting, there's let me get
- 15:42Speaker 3: my child out of this because it's toxic. There's just
- 15:44Speaker 3: so many ways to do it, and there's not one
- 15:46Speaker 3: right way, you know.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that's so true. There is no one right way.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And Ocean will always be my number one priority period.
- 15:59Speaker 1: You know, anyone that comes into my life my home,
- 16:02Speaker 1: whether it's a friend or a boy, you know, she's
- 16:06Speaker 1: the first one I think about, Yeah, is this person
- 16:11Speaker 1: going to be around for a while? My daughter is
- 16:13Speaker 1: a luxury to be around. She is, even though she
- 16:16Speaker 1: won't remember you, I don't care. She's a fine fucking wine. Yeah,
- 16:22Speaker 1: And you're not just going to come in here and
- 16:25Speaker 1: be around her, no, Yeah, So my ultimate goal is
- 16:29Speaker 1: just to protect her at all costs.
- 16:32Speaker 2: I think that's beautiful.
- 16:33Speaker 3: And now I'm curious if it's Ocean's first birthday today
- 16:38Speaker 3: in seventeen years, when Ocean turns eighteen, if you were
- 16:42Speaker 3: to say to her one thing, she was to listen
- 16:45Speaker 3: to this episode or get a sound clip, what would
- 16:48Speaker 3: you say to her at eighteen?
- 16:49Speaker 2: You think, what would you want to say?
- 16:51Speaker 4: Now?
- 16:52Speaker 2: Like your hopes and dreams for her?
- 16:54Speaker 1: Oh, my hopes and dreams for her. Never take no
- 16:58Speaker 1: for an answer, Bust through every door if you want something.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Always be a squeaky wheel, Never be silent. Never yeah,
- 17:11Speaker 1: and you are Your voice matters, and your feelings matter.
- 17:19Speaker 1: And you know, I don't know what she's going to
- 17:21Speaker 1: grow up and want to do. My daughter will be
- 17:24Speaker 1: supported no matter who she chooses to love, what her
- 17:27Speaker 1: life path is. You know, if my kid, which I
- 17:31Speaker 1: don't think this will happen, if she says, you know,
- 17:33Speaker 1: stripping is my passion, best believe I'm gonna be in
- 17:35Speaker 1: there tipping her the big bucks because I will support
- 17:38Speaker 1: her no matter what. I will give her all the
- 17:42Speaker 1: advice that I possibly can, and then what she chooses
- 17:45Speaker 1: to do with that is going to be up to her.
- 17:48Speaker 1: But my biggest thing is You'll always be loved. You'll
- 17:52Speaker 1: always be safe and you will always be accepted.
- 17:56Speaker 2: I love it.
- 17:57Speaker 3: Thank you, It's beautiful, Ocean's lucky. And for any of
- 18:00Speaker 3: you out there that don't have the best moms, Lala
- 18:04Speaker 3: is your mom as well us.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I'm your mother. La to the Rescue. I'm excited for

- 19:05Speaker 1: to do during quarantine is pretty badass. So we're gonna
- 19:10Speaker 1: figure out how to become geniuses like her. She's super
- 19:14Speaker 1: body positive. I'm into her. When we come back, we

- 19:33Speaker 4: Hi, Remy, Hi, uh, thank you for having him. So
- 19:37Speaker 4: I'm starstruck right.
- 19:38Speaker 1: Now, like I'm beyond so I feel like we're on
- 19:41Speaker 1: the same page. I have to say, you're pretty much
- 19:43Speaker 1: a fucking genius.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Oh thank you?
- 19:46Speaker 1: Do you get that? Do you understand that?
- 19:49Speaker 4: I don't know, Like I swear like nothing's ever hit
- 19:52Speaker 4: me yet, Like it's only been like a little over
- 19:53Speaker 4: a year, and I don't really know. I'm just going
- 19:55Speaker 4: with it.
- 19:56Speaker 1: You're just rolling with it. I love that because I
- 19:58Speaker 1: think if you were to realize everyone else is realizing,
- 20:03Speaker 1: you may like get in your head about it, because
- 20:05Speaker 1: I mean, bitch, you've been written about in Vogue, Harper's Bizarre,
- 20:09Speaker 1: Like the list goes on and on, and I was
- 20:12Speaker 1: I was watching your TikTok today. There was one where
- 20:15Speaker 1: you were like, I never liked to respond to trolls
- 20:18Speaker 1: or people trying to bring me down, and you there
- 20:20Speaker 1: was comment that you responded to saying you don't represent
- 20:23Speaker 1: the quote unquote plus size community. You basically told your story.
- 20:28Speaker 1: You lost your job. Take me through where you were
- 20:32Speaker 1: at a little over a year and a half ago
- 20:33Speaker 1: to becoming a genius. You're a genius.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Thank you. I was working at Title at the time,
- 20:41Speaker 4: which is jay Z's music streaming service. I was doing
- 20:43Speaker 4: partnership marketing. I was a coordinator, like my second job
- 20:46Speaker 4: out of college, and then during COVID in the summer,
- 20:49Speaker 4: I lost my job because of COVID. So I was
- 20:53Speaker 4: very upset, like I had this whole like my I
- 20:55Speaker 4: had a plan forever of like I'm going to be
- 20:57Speaker 4: like this big PR marketing and whatever fashion or entertainment,
- 21:02Speaker 4: whatever it might be. So I was really upset when
- 21:04Speaker 4: I lost my job. But at the same time, I
- 21:06Speaker 4: think it was almost a little bit of a relief
- 21:08Speaker 4: because I think I convinced myself I've been happy at
- 21:12Speaker 4: these jobs, but like now that I'm seeing it on
- 21:15Speaker 4: the other side, and like I also so I don't
- 21:16Speaker 4: know why I didn't mention this. So my first job
- 21:18Speaker 4: out of college is.
- 21:18Speaker 1: That BROP Wow.
- 21:20Speaker 4: Yes. So I worked on the PR team like Jen
- 21:23Speaker 4: Guyser was my boss, Like I worked there, and then
- 21:27Speaker 4: it was way too corporate for me. You know, an
- 21:29Speaker 4: assistant there's very corporate. I'm not a corporate gal, which
- 21:32Speaker 4: is great now I know that. So that's when I
- 21:34Speaker 4: went into the music industry and like, you know, I
- 21:36Speaker 4: think I just convinced myself like, well, I have to
- 21:39Speaker 4: be at these jobs, like these are big names, like
- 21:40Speaker 4: I need to be happy, but realistically I wasn't. I
- 21:43Speaker 4: think deep down, I always wanted to be on the
- 21:45Speaker 4: other side, like I wanted to do the talent, And
- 21:47Speaker 4: I think that's maybe why I worked with talent so
- 21:49Speaker 4: like I could just feel close enough to it in
- 21:51Speaker 4: my life. I just was like, this is never going
- 21:53Speaker 4: to happen for me. But at the same time, I
- 21:55Speaker 4: always felt like I had something to show the world,
- 21:57Speaker 4: like I felt like I had a big personality and
- 21:59Speaker 4: like a say, but I just kind of gave up
- 22:01Speaker 4: on it so fast forward, lost my job, gained a
- 22:05Speaker 4: lot of weight, not during COVID, like right before COVID
- 22:08Speaker 4: to where my dad who works in the fashion industry
- 22:11Speaker 4: was like, remy, I really think you should just try
- 22:13Speaker 4: going for like plus modeling and see how it goes.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Where I used to get so pissed when he would
- 22:17Speaker 4: say things like that, were at this point, I was like,
- 22:19Speaker 4: all right, I need to make money, like, let me
- 22:21Speaker 4: just do it. So my dad's the one who like
- 22:22Speaker 4: took pictures of me against the white wall, took my measurements,
- 22:25Speaker 4: and we sent them to all these modeling agencies and
- 22:28Speaker 4: I heard back from one boutique, small one in New
- 22:30Speaker 4: York City. Signed with them right away as a fit model,
- 22:33Speaker 4: and they're like, oh, you're pretty too, Like maybe we
- 22:35Speaker 4: can try and do some actual modeling. Nothing happened was
- 22:38Speaker 4: super slow. It's covid. I'm a new model, and I
- 22:41Speaker 4: was bored as hell, and I was just like home
- 22:44Speaker 4: in my apartment. And I came on to TikTok Onto,
- 22:46Speaker 4: like the Kirby fashion side of TikTok that I never
- 22:49Speaker 4: knew existed, and I was like, this is cool. And
- 22:51Speaker 4: in my mind it was never like I'm going to
- 22:54Speaker 4: make these videos and people are going to see it.
- 22:55Speaker 4: I was like, let me do something creative because I'm
- 22:58Speaker 4: losing my mind. How bored I am. I taught myself
- 23:00Speaker 4: how to edit. I filmed myself. I remember my sister
- 23:03Speaker 4: and my mom like coming home and being like, what
- 23:05Speaker 4: are you doing, like filming myself, and I just didn't
- 23:07Speaker 4: want to tell anyone. I'm someone that tells everyone everything
- 23:11Speaker 4: I'm up to, and like I just like need everyone's opinion.
- 23:13Speaker 4: And this was the first time in my life I
- 23:14Speaker 4: just kind of like was like, let me just do
- 23:16Speaker 4: this for myself and like and then it was like
- 23:19Speaker 4: the fifth video I made that like blew the hell up,
- 23:21Speaker 4: and then my life changed, Like I don't know, I
- 23:24Speaker 4: don't even know.
- 23:25Speaker 1: What was the fifth Like what was the one video
- 23:27Speaker 1: that just blew up?
- 23:29Speaker 4: The first four videos I did were like celebrity look
- 23:32Speaker 4: alike in a SI sixteen body, Haley Beaver, Kloy Kardashian,
- 23:35Speaker 4: whoever it was, and then I did it their outfit
- 23:37Speaker 4: in my body. But that was something that was repeated
- 23:39Speaker 4: on titchtok and I got from other people, so no
- 23:42Speaker 4: one cared. But then it was really when I kind
- 23:44Speaker 4: of gave up on it and I was like, all right,
- 23:46Speaker 4: this is a lot of work to do yourself, and
- 23:48Speaker 4: like no one's even seeing it, so whatever It was
- 23:50Speaker 4: really the one that I came home and made for
- 23:52Speaker 4: my friends as like a joke because I got this
- 23:54Speaker 4: like huge package from Nasty Gal. I looked insanee, my
- 23:57Speaker 4: boobs were flying out, like it was just like everything
- 23:59Speaker 4: looked on me. So I was just like laughing at
- 24:02Speaker 4: myself and like sending my friends videos. I was like,
- 24:04Speaker 4: I'll just make a video of it. And I literally said, like,
- 24:07Speaker 4: how can we order these things online? And no matter
- 24:09Speaker 4: what size you are, don't never look like the model,
- 24:11Speaker 4: and like we get mad at ourselves for it, when really,
- 24:13Speaker 4: why are we blaming ourselves. It's these fashion brands that
- 24:15Speaker 4: just don't get it right and that video that blew up.
- 24:18Speaker 1: It's so insane to me. And this is I tend
- 24:23Speaker 1: to like take a step back and look at what
- 24:26Speaker 1: people have built. You managed to take your amazing personality
- 24:32Speaker 1: and just like lust for life and also partner with
- 24:38Speaker 1: these brands because you're showing real life. And by the way,
- 24:41Speaker 1: I hate the word plus size model because most of
- 24:44Speaker 1: these bitches are so small. It's like, so is that
- 24:46Speaker 1: a negative size model because she's half a person, So
- 24:49Speaker 1: that doesn't make any sense to me.
- 24:51Speaker 4: I mean, the names in general are all like, it's
- 24:53Speaker 4: just obviously that's some There's so much I want to
- 24:56Speaker 4: change so much that I think that it will.
- 24:58Speaker 1: Be but you're doing it.
- 24:59Speaker 4: I'm doing, and I think that's what I Yes, I've
- 25:02Speaker 4: recently given myself more credit because I'm finally now going
- 25:06Speaker 4: into twenty twenty two after building a platform, seeing the
- 25:09Speaker 4: changes start to happen slowly, and now at least I'm
- 25:12Speaker 4: seeing that I never was someone that was just like, wow,
- 25:14Speaker 4: I have a following, like let me just keep building numbers.
- 25:16Speaker 4: If I'm not doing something with it, then what's the
- 25:19Speaker 4: point right now that I'm actually seeing stuff happen. Yes, No,
- 25:22Speaker 4: I'm definitely proud of myself and it's great, But I
- 25:24Speaker 4: don't think that the people some of the people that
- 25:27Speaker 4: follow me, and I have people all shapes and sizes
- 25:29Speaker 4: that follow me. I just don't think that people realize
- 25:32Speaker 4: like it does take time and like I can't just
- 25:35Speaker 4: snap a finger, and like I'm I want it to
- 25:37Speaker 4: happen just as much as everyone else. But you know,
- 25:39Speaker 4: I just announced that I'm working with Victorious Secret Pink
- 25:43Speaker 4: to be their size consultant and brand ambassador to help
- 25:46Speaker 4: them to expand sizes. Of course, I've been getting so
- 25:49Speaker 4: much positive feedback, but also so much negative from people
- 25:51Speaker 4: that are just like an XXL, that's all you can do,
- 25:55Speaker 4: like you're doing nothing like and again those are I know,
- 25:57Speaker 4: I guess shouldn't look at the negative, and it's not
- 25:59Speaker 4: that many people, but realistically, it's like I want to
- 26:02Speaker 4: prove everyone wrong and I always have wanted to be like,
- 26:05Speaker 4: liked and understood. So it's very hard for me now
- 26:07Speaker 4: being this sensitive person on social media wanting everyone to
- 26:11Speaker 4: like see I'm trying to do good, but then getting
- 26:14Speaker 4: those haters is very hard for me. Like, it's just
- 26:16Speaker 4: hard for me, except.
- 26:17Speaker 1: Of course you're You're still a human being, and no
- 26:21Speaker 1: matter how much good you do, there's always going to
- 26:25Speaker 1: be people who it's not good enough. I think that's
- 26:28Speaker 1: a tough pill for most of us to swallow. So
- 26:31Speaker 1: when you got that package from Nasty Gal, I remember
- 26:34Speaker 1: seeing this. Now I know whatch when you're talking about
- 26:36Speaker 1: because Katie showed it to me. Is that when you
- 26:39Speaker 1: decided to kind of shift the way your TikTok was
- 26:41Speaker 1: going to be, and you were like, not only am
- 26:43Speaker 1: I going to bring my big personality, but I'm going
- 26:45Speaker 1: to show these clothes and what they look like on
- 26:48Speaker 1: my body, because you've really you've really been able to
- 26:51Speaker 1: grab everything and put it into one TikTok. You know.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's weird because I didn't have the
- 26:57Speaker 4: thoughts then around it, Like I happen to have a
- 26:59Speaker 4: pretty little I never shopped like I mean, I always
- 27:01Speaker 4: like loved clothes, and but I did it in a
- 27:03Speaker 4: way that was like once every two months, I would
- 27:06Speaker 4: order like a million things online and just get it
- 27:09Speaker 4: because it was such a stressful thing for me growing up.
- 27:11Speaker 4: Like I literally if I shopped in person with my
- 27:13Speaker 4: mom or something, I would just cry the whole time
- 27:15Speaker 4: because it was frustrating. And then when I order things
- 27:17Speaker 4: online it works or it doesn't work, but I usually
- 27:19Speaker 4: would laugh at myself. So I had a pretty little
- 27:21Speaker 4: thing package the next day because I did one of
- 27:23Speaker 4: my big I'm going to order everything online. So I
- 27:26Speaker 4: just made that video again but a little more like
- 27:29Speaker 4: in depth, and tried making that one. People liked the
- 27:32Speaker 4: humor on it. People liked that it wasn't so serious
- 27:34Speaker 4: of like let's accept ourselves. And I'm not saying that's
- 27:37Speaker 4: a bad thing, but like for me, that's not me,
- 27:39Speaker 4: so for me, I always maybe I have been that
- 27:41Speaker 4: kind of way my whole life, like making fun of
- 27:44Speaker 4: myself in a way when in things like that if
- 27:47Speaker 4: clothes don't fit me, but yes, also like being honest
- 27:49Speaker 4: that like it upsets me at the same time. So
- 27:51Speaker 4: I just like did it again. And then I don't know.
- 27:54Speaker 4: I wish I knew what the moment was where I
- 27:56Speaker 4: was like back again with a realistic call and decided
- 27:58Speaker 4: this is going to be like a series and take
- 28:00Speaker 4: over my life. But I don't remember. It just kind
- 28:02Speaker 4: of it just kind of happened itself, and I yes,
- 28:05Speaker 4: I took a little bit of like my frustration for
- 28:08Speaker 4: the fashion industry, the humor I've always had, and then
- 28:12Speaker 4: me just always loving to connect with people who have
- 28:15Speaker 4: feeled the same way. And when I started seeing that
- 28:17Speaker 4: all these people just feel the same way and like
- 28:19Speaker 4: we're like connecting to what I was saying, I was like, WHOA,
- 28:22Speaker 4: this is crazy. I'm just going to keep talking about it.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I mean, like I said at the beginning, it's fucking genius.
- 28:27Speaker 1: The brands that you've partnered with, I mean Stuart Weitzman, Lululemon,
- 28:33Speaker 1: sax Off Fit, like all of these brands that people
- 28:35Speaker 1: like me would die die to have them partner with me,
- 28:40Speaker 1: and you're just a fucking genius. Like I watch your
- 28:43Speaker 1: videos and you're making a difference in doing all of
- 28:45Speaker 1: those things, and I get it, Like I don't care
- 28:48Speaker 1: who you are, and I don't care how many people
- 28:51Speaker 1: sit there and tell you look great, Like if you
- 28:54Speaker 1: don't feel great, right, we all have those moments of like,
- 28:59Speaker 1: I'm not come in this moment in my own skin.
- 29:02Speaker 1: You have those thoughts, I'm sure because you're a person
- 29:06Speaker 1: as well. In those moments, do you still create content?
- 29:09Speaker 1: Are those the moments where you say, you know what,
- 29:10Speaker 1: fuck this, we're getting off our ass and we're making
- 29:12Speaker 1: content to talk about it.
- 29:13Speaker 4: When I'm actually most vulnerable is when I create the
- 29:16Speaker 4: content too, because I'm like, I just want to talk
- 29:18Speaker 4: to someone about it. Why don't I just share it
- 29:20Speaker 4: to my over two point five million followers and just
- 29:23Speaker 4: talk about it there. So, like some people are just
- 29:24Speaker 4: like social media isn't your therapists and blah blah blah,
- 29:27Speaker 4: Like well, in a way kind of kind of because like, honestly,
- 29:30Speaker 4: I've become more confident in the past year because of
- 29:33Speaker 4: the positive things that people have said to me, I
- 29:35Speaker 4: don't let those heat comments bring me down as a person. Yes,
- 29:39Speaker 4: maybe in the moment they upset me when people are
- 29:42Speaker 4: like you're fat, You're fat businessness, Like, I already know
- 29:44Speaker 4: the things i need to work on. I already know
- 29:46Speaker 4: what I'm doing, so like maybe I'll be upset if
- 29:48Speaker 4: I'm having a bad day already. But sometimes they don't
- 29:50Speaker 4: even affect me. It's the positive things that my followers
- 29:53Speaker 4: and people that have gotten to know me say that
- 29:55Speaker 4: I like start believing about myself that I maybe always
- 29:57Speaker 4: hated about myself or never like like hated my teeth,
- 30:00Speaker 4: and then everyone just always comments how I have the
- 30:02Speaker 4: greatest teeth, and now I like my teeth. Like it's
- 30:04Speaker 4: kind of like we all don't like things about ourself,
- 30:06Speaker 4: but I put myself out there in front of everyone,
- 30:09Speaker 4: so I'm starting to see different things. But going back
- 30:12Speaker 4: to what you said, yes, when I'm the most vulnerable,
- 30:14Speaker 4: I do speak about it, and I get positive and
- 30:17Speaker 4: negative feedback. Because going back to that video you said
- 30:19Speaker 4: where that girl was like you don't represent this plus
- 30:21Speaker 4: sized community, and I felt like I had to respond,
- 30:24Speaker 4: like I was like, wait, I'm not trying to represent
- 30:26Speaker 4: any community. I got a following from just being myself
- 30:30Speaker 4: and now it turned into something. So I'm not just
- 30:32Speaker 4: going to change what I'm doing and start being like
- 30:34Speaker 4: this leader or like influential person that knows everything that's
- 30:38Speaker 4: like right to do and have all these people follow.
- 30:40Speaker 4: Like I'm still just like a mess of a person
- 30:42Speaker 4: trying to figure it out. But I do think I
- 30:44Speaker 4: have a lot of like honesty and things I just
- 30:47Speaker 4: want to share and people seem to like it. So
- 30:49Speaker 4: I'm not just gonna start I don't care if people think, like,
- 30:52Speaker 4: you don't represent the plus size community, You're not big enough,
- 30:55Speaker 4: you're this, you're that. It's like, what do you want
- 30:57Speaker 4: me to do? Like I literally don't know what I'm
- 30:59Speaker 4: supposed to do other than just like keep doing what
- 31:02Speaker 4: I'm doing. But now that it's getting bigger, it's like
- 31:05Speaker 4: people are putting me in like a place like they
- 31:07Speaker 4: want me to be. Like, you know, when it's set
- 31:09Speaker 4: on the Victoria's Secret thing remy to help plus size influencer,
- 31:13Speaker 4: that pisses off some people that are considered in this
- 31:15Speaker 4: plus size community and they're like, well, if she considers
- 31:18Speaker 4: herself plus size, it's not true. In an XXL is
- 31:21Speaker 4: and plus size. It's very hard. I don't care to
- 31:24Speaker 4: put myself in a category, but everyone else is trying to, right.
- 31:27Speaker 1: That's inevitable when you start putting yourself out there, people
- 31:29Speaker 1: try to put you in a box and you obviously
- 31:32Speaker 1: can't be put in a box. But the struggle is real.
- 31:35Speaker 1: I mean I can relate to being put in a
- 31:37Speaker 1: box and you try your hard is to break out
- 31:39Speaker 1: of it. Now, when you say, like people are upset
- 31:41Speaker 1: about the XXL, I'm gonna be honest, like I don't
- 31:44Speaker 1: even know what size that would mean, Like when they say,
- 31:47Speaker 1: like an extra small, what size? I need a number?
- 31:49Speaker 1: So when you're creating these sizes and you're helping brands,
- 31:53Speaker 1: do you go off of just the XXL or you
- 31:56Speaker 1: know an actual number for what that means?
- 32:00Speaker 4: Company and brand is different, so some brands to excel,
- 32:03Speaker 4: some brands do numbers. The problem is and why it's
- 32:07Speaker 4: like but people don't realize, like like I'm a sixteen, eighteen, fourteen, twenty,
- 32:12Speaker 4: Like I literally that now that I've gone through all
- 32:14Speaker 4: these brands and now starting to shop with Like now
- 32:17Speaker 4: designers are starting to send me clothes and things like that,
- 32:19Speaker 4: I'm like wow, like it's all across the board. So
- 32:22Speaker 4: that's why I try and do the work for people
- 32:24Speaker 4: where I'm trying it on and then you can see
- 32:26Speaker 4: for yourself, like is this going to work for me?
- 32:28Speaker 4: Is it not? Because it's so confusing, and I think
- 32:31Speaker 4: that it's not even most brands go like XL XXL.
- 32:35Speaker 4: It's like every brand is different, I would say, like
- 32:38Speaker 4: most the frustration for someone like me is that a
- 32:41Speaker 4: lot of these brands just stop at an excel that
- 32:44Speaker 4: is like I would say almost like at this point,
- 32:46Speaker 4: like a little bit smaller than me, and then like
- 32:49Speaker 4: how many people are left out? Like there are so
- 32:52Speaker 4: many people that then aren't allowed, that aren't able to
- 32:54Speaker 4: wear clothes at all. And for me, I felt like
- 32:56Speaker 4: I was always like I don't know the word trendy,
- 32:58Speaker 4: liked fashion, and then the only clothes that were there
- 33:01Speaker 4: for maybe some larger people are like frumpy and not cute,
- 33:06Speaker 4: and like why does that relate? Like why can't I
- 33:08Speaker 4: go get the same clothes that a skinnier person is
- 33:10Speaker 4: getting just because my body's bigger. And that's why I
- 33:13Speaker 4: think the first that I realized was Good American that
- 33:17Speaker 4: Chloe was like the first that really started plus size,
- 33:20Speaker 4: but like cool clothes that I noticed.
- 33:23Speaker 1: I watched that video you did of the black dress,
- 33:25Speaker 1: and you said that it was a size five. You
- 33:27Speaker 1: give like the turnaround to show how it looks, So
- 33:30Speaker 1: that's good to know that you feel that good. American
- 33:33Speaker 1: is like the first one to really make you feel
- 33:36Speaker 1: good where you don't have to walk into a store
- 33:38Speaker 1: and be like these are my options.
- 33:40Speaker 4: Yeah, And I think that's what people too are like
- 33:42Speaker 4: fascinated by, Like they see me that I've always been
- 33:44Speaker 4: like kind of dressed like a little like I like
- 33:46Speaker 4: to show skin and show my boobs and show like
- 33:49Speaker 4: my stomach a little, so like people are like, oh
- 33:50Speaker 4: my god, like I never knew I could dress like that,
- 33:53Speaker 4: And then they get so excited and I could sell
- 33:55Speaker 4: out the item in two seconds because they're like, holy shit,
- 33:57Speaker 4: if Remy's wearing this and she's a size six eighteen,
- 34:00Speaker 4: then I could wear this too. Like I think that's
- 34:02Speaker 4: where a lot of people get the excitement from following me.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I can imagine, because you know, there's so
- 34:09Speaker 1: many people that are looking in so many aspects of
- 34:13Speaker 1: life for that confidence and that push where who said
- 34:17Speaker 1: that this person can show a little midriff, but this
- 34:20Speaker 1: person can't. Yeah, I think you're showing people the way
- 34:24Speaker 1: to do it. And here's the thing I always say,
- 34:27Speaker 1: if if you walk out the door and you feel
- 34:29Speaker 1: beautiful and hot, fuck what everyone else thinks. Yeah, So
- 34:33Speaker 1: you're giving people so much confidence. And I think that
- 34:37Speaker 1: I'm glad that you're realizing that because it's something where
- 34:41Speaker 1: you're from New York. I'm from well, I'm originally from
- 34:44Speaker 1: Utah and I live in LA and it's just kind
- 34:46Speaker 1: of a different it's a different vibe out here. We're
- 34:48Speaker 1: not from this small town where everybody's very judgmental, but
- 34:51Speaker 1: those places still exist. They need someone like you to
- 34:56Speaker 1: be out here giving them confidence. I think it's amazing.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Yes, I am starting to see it more like I'm
- 35:02Speaker 4: starting to give myself a little bit more credit and
- 35:04Speaker 4: like seeing the what I'm doing. Like I mean, I
- 35:07Speaker 4: think the biggest part is when people come up to
- 35:09Speaker 4: me on the street, because that's you know, people come
- 35:11Speaker 4: up to me crying like once a week, these girls
- 35:14Speaker 4: that are like, You've changed my life, and I just
- 35:16Speaker 4: I didn't understand for so long. But I think it's
- 35:19Speaker 4: just yes, giving them this confidence. I think what's hard
- 35:22Speaker 4: for me to get it is that I still lack
- 35:24Speaker 4: a lot of body confidence. I would say I've always
- 35:27Speaker 4: been an overall confident person, like mentally and like I'm remubator,
- 35:30Speaker 4: this is what I'm doing. I'm not afraid to say anything.
- 35:32Speaker 4: But when it comes to my body for the first
- 35:34Speaker 4: time my life, I'm not confident in that at all.
- 35:37Speaker 4: So when people comment and then come up to me
- 35:40Speaker 4: and say, you've given me so much confidence, I don't.
- 35:41Speaker 4: I think it's maybe that I don't want to feel
- 35:43Speaker 4: inauthentic because I'm like, wait, I'm not that confident right now.
- 35:46Speaker 4: I actually am like really not happy with my body
- 35:49Speaker 4: right now. So it's like a you know, I think
- 35:51Speaker 4: it's hard because then you're labeled like this influencer. We're
- 35:55Speaker 4: like I said, I'm influencing these people. But I don't
- 35:58Speaker 4: want to like be the one to say that I
- 35:59Speaker 4: have all the answers or anything, because I really don't.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Like I'm just as lost as anyone else.
- 36:04Speaker 1: But I think that's why people gravitate towards you, Yeah,
- 36:07Speaker 1: because that's relatable and I can relate to that on
- 36:10Speaker 1: a lot of levels. Because I people will come up
- 36:13Speaker 1: to me or slide in the DM and talk about
- 36:16Speaker 1: how do I get your type of confidence? And I'm like, girl,
- 36:20Speaker 1: I am faking this shit until it just happens for me.
- 36:24Speaker 1: And maybe you do the same thing. I don't know,
- 36:27Speaker 1: but whatever you're doing, people see you and they want
- 36:31Speaker 1: what you have, and you're not just giving the curvy
- 36:36Speaker 1: girls and curvy you know, men, women and everything in
- 36:39Speaker 1: between that confidence. Like when I watch you, I feel liberated.
- 36:43Speaker 1: You know, you're hitting both ends of the spectrum and
- 36:47Speaker 1: everything in between, and you're very relatable. So I don't
- 36:52Speaker 1: feel like you're being inauthentic by coming across as a
- 36:55Speaker 1: confident person and then having your moments. I think that's
- 36:58Speaker 1: just called being a person exactly.
- 37:01Speaker 4: And I think that's just it's such a rare thing
- 37:03Speaker 4: to be a person on social media because everyone's so
- 37:05Speaker 4: used to needing to show this like perfect side to them,
- 37:09Speaker 4: and that's really that I think is something going back
- 37:11Speaker 4: to when I started my videos that I did think.
- 37:13Speaker 4: I was like, I want to show the bad and
- 37:16Speaker 4: not only the good. Everyone only shows the good on
- 37:18Speaker 4: social media and that fucks with me no, and it
- 37:21Speaker 4: messes with a lot of people. I'm not as much
- 37:23Speaker 4: of a picture person. I'm more of a video person.
- 37:25Speaker 4: I mean, I like like taking my like modeling phos
- 37:27Speaker 4: and stuff. But like in New York City, how people
- 37:29Speaker 4: take like blogger photos on the street like I can.
- 37:31Speaker 4: That gives me so much anxiety. And I actually just
- 37:34Speaker 4: recently went on like a trip with like that was
- 37:36Speaker 4: really like an influencer influencer trip with just girls that
- 37:39Speaker 4: more do photos and not video, and it was like
- 37:41Speaker 4: really another world for me, like seeing just how perfect
- 37:44Speaker 4: everyone needs their feed to be and look and dress
- 37:48Speaker 4: and act, and I'm like that world isn't something that
- 37:51Speaker 4: I can see myself in or ever would want to be,
- 37:53Speaker 4: And so like like that's great for other people, but
- 37:56Speaker 4: like for me, I'm content with what I'm putting out
- 37:58Speaker 4: there and what I'm doing, and I'm very interested to
- 38:02Speaker 4: see where it will go. You know, Like every day
- 38:04Speaker 4: I'm just kind of like I don't have a plan.
- 38:05Speaker 4: Like when I did used to have a plan of
- 38:07Speaker 4: what I wanted my life to be, it went completely
- 38:09Speaker 4: a different way, and I'm happy about that. So I'm
- 38:11Speaker 4: literally just going with it. When I get an opportunity,
- 38:14Speaker 4: like the Victoria's Secret thing or something comes my way
- 38:17Speaker 4: and it sounds good to me. I'm like, great, let's
- 38:19Speaker 4: do it. So I'm just kind of like taking this
- 38:22Speaker 4: and seeing what happens. Like I just it's crazy. I
- 38:24Speaker 4: don't know.
- 38:25Speaker 1: Well, it's only been, like you said, a little over
- 38:27Speaker 1: a year. I'm sure you're still processing everything. I mean,
- 38:30Speaker 1: I'm in awe of what you've accomplished in such a
- 38:32Speaker 1: short period of time, Like you were just meant to
- 38:35Speaker 1: do this. Thank you, You're so welcome. First of all, again,
- 38:38Speaker 1: if anyone's living under a rock, where can people find you?
- 38:42Speaker 4: My Instagram and TikTok is just at my name at
- 38:45Speaker 4: remy baitor r e m Ibader. Potentially might start a YouTube,
- 38:51Speaker 4: but that takes a lot of efforts. So I'm just
- 38:52Speaker 4: pushing it off and pushing it off. But I think
- 38:55Speaker 4: there's gonna be a lot of very exciting things coming up,
- 38:57Speaker 4: more exciting announcements than things that are happening in the
- 39:00Speaker 4: next few months. And like I said, I feel like
- 39:01Speaker 4: it's finally like things are actually happening, and that's like
- 39:05Speaker 4: the most exciting for me.
- 39:07Speaker 1: So it's beyond exciting. And before I let you go,
- 39:11Speaker 1: I want to know, like what your parents think. You
- 39:13Speaker 1: said your dad was the one that was like pushing
- 39:15Speaker 1: you in a certain direction, like what does he think
- 39:17Speaker 1: about all this?
- 39:18Speaker 4: Oh my god, they're they're funny, Like it was interesting.
- 39:21Speaker 4: So my dad's like the business guy and who I
- 39:23Speaker 4: go to to talk about all that. He's like now
- 39:25Speaker 4: my business manager actually, but I almost like wasn't getting
- 39:28Speaker 4: anything from him at first, where I was like so
- 39:30Speaker 4: confused and my mom was like, no, rem you don't understand.
- 39:32Speaker 4: Like he brags about you on the phone to everyone,
- 39:34Speaker 4: but to your face he acts like he's just he's
- 39:36Speaker 4: just not as like much like that. He actually texted
- 39:39Speaker 4: me for the first time the other day, like two
- 39:42Speaker 4: days ago and was just like, not that he hasn't
- 39:44Speaker 4: been showing how proud he is, but like he just
- 39:46Speaker 4: he shows it in different ways. And he texted me
- 39:48Speaker 4: two days ago like I can't explain how proud I
- 39:50Speaker 4: am with you, Like you built this business, like you
- 39:52Speaker 4: did everything on your own, Like it's really amazing to
- 39:55Speaker 4: see where my mom cries every day, like she's just
- 39:58Speaker 4: the emotional she's obsessed with you, by the way, but
- 40:00Speaker 4: like she just like fries every day, Like it's like
- 40:03Speaker 4: I can't believe this. Like these girls like on the
- 40:05Speaker 4: street came up there and we're like, we love you,
- 40:07Speaker 4: and like when they're with me and see that, they
- 40:09Speaker 4: just like freak out every time. And like my mom
- 40:11Speaker 4: was like, I just don't get it, like why do
- 40:13Speaker 4: you think why? Like of course me, but she just
- 40:16Speaker 4: like will question every I'm like, are you going to
- 40:18Speaker 4: say that? Every single time? And she's like, I'll just
- 40:21Speaker 4: never understand. But in the best way possible. She's just
- 40:23Speaker 4: like she's it's just very surreal to her.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Oh, I'm sure.
- 40:26Speaker 4: And then my sister gets like almost like I think
- 40:29Speaker 4: she's happy because she just gets the perks of going
- 40:31Speaker 4: on the Revolved trips and doing whatever with me, Like
- 40:33Speaker 4: we actually weren't weren't really as close before this time,
- 40:36Speaker 4: where now that we're doing these trips and exciting things together,
- 40:39Speaker 4: and she's always been into fashion and influencers and all
- 40:42Speaker 4: this stuff, like this is just great for her. So
- 40:44Speaker 4: like we're all super close and like kind of I
- 40:47Speaker 4: want them And anytime something happens, an article comes out,
- 40:49Speaker 4: I just put in my family group chat, like we're
- 40:51Speaker 4: all very like into everything happening, but it's something new
- 40:54Speaker 4: every day, Like it feels like it's just I'm wondering
- 40:56Speaker 4: when that feeling will be over, Like I'm like, oh
- 40:58Speaker 4: my god, it was just in Women's Word Daily like
- 40:59Speaker 4: that crazy, Like is that going to be like over
- 41:02Speaker 4: at some point? Or is there always things that are
- 41:04Speaker 4: still exciting?
- 41:04Speaker 1: Like I don't know, you know, I wonder that. I
- 41:07Speaker 1: sometimes wonder that too, because I'm looking at everything you've
- 41:10Speaker 1: been featured in and I'm like, I'm sure she's pinching
- 41:12Speaker 1: herself daily, like is it ever going to get to
- 41:14Speaker 1: a point where it's like, oh yeah, cover a Vogue whatever,
- 41:19Speaker 1: you know, just another day.
- 41:21Speaker 4: But even with you, like you, I'm sure at first,
- 41:23Speaker 4: like well you started getting a following, and you probably
- 41:26Speaker 4: were like what the hell is going on? But then
- 41:28Speaker 4: like you got you have new exciting things, like when
- 41:29Speaker 4: you wrote a book, you know, like a new excitement
- 41:32Speaker 4: outside of that what you were doing. I guess, like
- 41:35Speaker 4: I'm sure that there's always things to be excited about
- 41:38Speaker 4: having a baby.
- 41:39Speaker 1: I still pinch myself like how how did I get here?
- 41:41Speaker 1: Like I was just on a couch in Utah watching
- 41:44Speaker 1: Real Housewives of Beverly Hill, Like what am I doing?
- 41:47Speaker 1: I feel like I was put into a time capsule
- 41:49Speaker 1: or something.
- 41:50Speaker 4: That's the feeling that I just like, I don't think.
- 41:52Speaker 4: I can't answer the question. When people are like, how
- 41:54Speaker 4: has it been, I'm like, I don't know. I literally
- 41:57Speaker 4: don't know because I was sitting there taking press clips
- 42:00Speaker 4: of you at the desk at Bravo, like you literally
- 42:03Speaker 4: in my little like assistance to like like obeying the rules.
- 42:07Speaker 4: So like I it was very like and now I'm
- 42:10Speaker 4: like doing this.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Now you're bigger than all these hopes. You're fucking killing
- 42:14Speaker 1: it really wild. Well, it was such a pleasure to
- 42:17Speaker 1: talk to you. Thank you so much for joining us.
- 42:19Speaker 1: I'm so appreciative. Keep rocking the industry.
- 42:24Speaker 4: Thank you so much.
- 42:25Speaker 1: You're welcome, baby,
