AEW WrestleDream Fallout: Blood & Guts Is Coming, and Full Gear Gets Interesting · Elite Heat

• I don't think there's anything that these guys can do that's gonna make me go like, okay, I'm back on board. Like it just for me, it's just not hitting. Welcome to Elite Heat, AEW Dynamite God damn it. Live from Florida. It wasn't even that funny. God damn it. Wednesday first first night of my after a pay per view on the weekend and woo, this was a hot one. As I Santana and Rob Thomas would say. my god. Okay. We're okay. We're keeping all that. We're keeping all this in. We're keeping We're keeping all of this in. No, we are, but my god, just with the world's most relevant reference there. Way to be timely with a song from twenty years ago? Might be older than Yeah. that. Yeah. I mean look, if Edge can wrestle today, I can make that reference. Okay. Well, that's a fair point. All right. Anywho. How are you, man? I don't know the answer to that right But now. here's what I do Users. know. As you were saying, live from Miami, we got the first post-WrestleDream Dynamite where many things happened. And I will say this right out of the gate. of the things that they started setting up for Full Gear, I don't think I anticipated a single one of them. probably not, no. I'm just gonna say right out of the shoot, this is one of my favorite dynamites in a long time. This was s okay. I was so happy. So happy. Yeah. Very happy. Clearly. Okay. All right. Well, then I think that you should proceed with the heat check then, since you're over the moon on this thing. all right. heat check kicking off things with hot. The tag team eliminator match. That was great. it was Bucks and versus Doyle and Davis. That was amazing. Just crazy. Didn't anticipate that outcome in the way it happened. We can talk about that more No, I didn't either. later. then we had Ospreay Cope versus ProtoJet. That's there in the hot. The man Kevin Knight's drop kick of Doom off of the Protostar shoulders. So hot. So good. plus the kick Fletcher gave Ospreay in the corner and then going bye bye. So good. And then afterwards, that whole beatdown, textbook, heel, beatdown. So good. So good. And then Steve Stingson is back. All that is Mm-hmm. in the hot from that. Swerve coming down and just whooping ass and leaving right away. That's in the hot list. I loved the Orange Cassidy Jay White match against Garcia and Yuta Thought that was really good. the backs I thought the backstage stuff with BroHangDo and Renee was really good. That's on my hot list. Everything that happened after the Roddy Strong Moxley Continental contender match, hot list. backstage, the Divine Dominion and Triangle of Madness beating the hell out of all the other tag team women tag teams. That made my hot list. Persephone and Britt Baker at the announce table. Come That was very good. Speedball in the main event. So happy about that. Draggy's I Draggy. I'm gonna start calling Draggy. No, that's that's his new name, Draggy. Draggy, that jumping thrust kick. That was hot. And then SBMB's crane kick. Come on. And that whole match, SBMB against Draggy, that was great. That's my hot. That was basically almost the entire show. I think that is the whole show. Is there anything? Okay, what do you have in mild? There's there's a few things I have in mild, but you know Well what did you what did I miss anything in the heat that you thought was hot? Okay. In mild No. Mm mm. No, I agree with you on all that. in the mild, I actually have the Roddy Strong Moxley match because of the quick weird ending. I agree. I thought how quickly it finished was really weird. Yeah. I and it d it was not smoothly done. And so I was like No, it made me wonder if they were like if they were going long and the ref had to tell them like you gotta go home, you gotta go home now. Like if the match was going like they weren't hitting Possible. Yeah, yeah. Yep. their time, you know what I mean? Mm-hmm. It was it was awkward. And so that made it into my mild. I thought Nick Wayne and Jericho in the ring, that segment was mild, even though I still love Nick Wayne saying I pinned Jericho and the then the Pyro goes off. That's still gonna be in my hot for a long time. And oddly enough, I thought the Queen Aminata Maya World match was in my mild tonight, and I wanted to like it more. That's interesting. So I guess then I should go back to the hot list because that actually made the hot for me. This is what happens. I don't know if you notice, I wasn't looking at my notes at all. So Huh, weird. that's that's what happens there. But I would put it on the hot list now. I understand because it wasn't on on this show, it certainly wasn't like, my God. But I thought it was solid. I really thought it was a solid match. I thought I thought Maya World looked well, we can talk. I yeah, we can. And I think it We can argue about it. I Yeah, we can do that. That's fine. I'm not saying we will, but I'm not saying we won't. We we certainly can. I mean I'm down for it. I'll pick a side even if I don't agree. I'll do it. Yeah. Yeah. I don't care. The only thing that I'm gonna differentiate from your hot list to my mild is the BroHangDo stuff. And I think Okay. you I think you know why. It's because I wanted this to be done and it's not, and Yep. Mm-hmm. that bums me out. And I landed on something tonight that I went, okay, I think I think I figured out why it's not hitting with me. Okay, do you want to talk about now or when we get there? Okay, my cat I'm not nah, we can when we get there. But says there's my tail. yeah. It's just not an episode without one of our animals making an appearance, really. at least she didn't, you know, play drums like Kaia Mm, not yet. did for WrestleDream. but other than that, I pretty much agree with you. I think the Nick Wayne Jericho stuff is it was fine. But but it made my mild because I'm like, I don't think this is over and I think it should be over. That's why it made my mild. So Yeah. Yep. Mm-hmm. Yep. It made my mild for a number of reasons. One, it went too long, and two, I agree. No. Yeah. Yeah. Do you have anything on the mail? Yeah, me neither. No mayo tonight. Other than again, overrun, but we're used to that to the point where it doesn't even Good job. Yeah, well, yeah, I just make the mayo anymore. I expect it and at one point I looked at I'm l let me look at my notes if I can see which point it was. I think it was I think it was when Britt's music hit. I looked at the clock and it was eight forty five and I went, Well, we're going over 'cause there's no way Dragunov's only Yep. getting like five minutes. So Yep. Yep. All right, so let's talk about this show then. Let's do it. as you mentioned, we would lead off with the young Bucks and Doyle and Davis, and I was shocked. Yeah. I did not expect the Bucks to get squashed like that. No. And Renee set it up with the mention that the Bucks are beat up, you know, you know, yes, they're coming to the ring. Yes, they say they feel good, but they they're beat up and it it tells. But this set the pace for the night, as you'll see if you haven't watched already. Spoiler alert, we're gonna wreck it for you. But this really set the pace for the night, and I was surprised and I loved it. I liked it a lot from for two reasons. One was, well, first I'm gonna say three, actually. First one was when you can do something at this point in wrestling where I'm like, whoa, that's pretty impressive. Yeah. because I've been watching it for a long time and we see a lot of stuff coming. It doesn't mean that it's bad, it just means we see it coming, right? And it's just like, okay, yeah, cool, Yep. Mm-hmm. fun. I also I really liked Doyle and Davis here because I felt like you got. tandem offense from them, which we haven't gotten a lot of when they've been a tag Yeah. team together. Yeah, normally it's one brute comes in, does brute stuff, the other brute comes in, does his brute stuff. That was a different look tonight. I really liked it. Yep. I like that a lot. And I also liked it because I think they did an amazing job tonight of heating up the Don Callis Family headed into Blood and Guts, which was really important. They made Yeah, well. look like killers tonight, and that mattered. Yes, it did. They did I like I said, I thought tonight was one of the best shows I've seen in a long, long time. That set the pace and a lot of what happened there was kind of the reason why I loved it so much tonight. So yeah, I thought it was great. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Then Cope and Ospreay would take on ProtoJet and a lot of good stuff here. I loved Cope sliding out of the ring and giving him the finger. I really enjoyed That was really good. That was really good. that. I was paying attention, that would've made my hot list, but Yeah, I really enjoyed that. Okada coming out. He did fun Okada things. Yep. at first I thought, and tell me if you think this is where we're headed long term, like for Full Gear. I th is it gonna be Okada and Cope? for Okada's title? I think absolutely. Yeah. I think so too. And okay. That's not something Don Callis I realized I needed, but I do. Don Callis made a comment that, and maybe it happened on social media and I didn't see it, but he made a comment that Cope's been talking about Okada in his belt or something. And I just have missed it if that happened, but he commented on Same. it. So at least he got that in, because I loved this part too. I even wrote down, This was a textbook heel beatdown. This is how you do it. You come in with overwhelming odds and you beat the living tar out of everyone and you don't stop. That was fantastic. And it was very clear tonight that the Don Callis Family is back on the same page and they really Yes. are operating. And it was almost comical because at the very beginning, Tony Schiavone is like, you can tell by the body language that ProtoJet isn't really on the same page. And The match started and they were nothing but in sync and they killed it and Yeah, I mean they were in matching outfits for crying out loud, so I mean Yeah. That's Yeah, tell me they're on the same not on the same page. Their outfits matched. yeah. Next they'll do they'll when they come up with a joint intro, it's over. It's over for you fools. Yeah. yeah. Once we get the ProtoJet opening, everyone can shut the hell up. Yeah. But I really liked it. I thought it was a lot of fun. I thought this was an excellent match. like you said, the heels were really strong here tonight and they needed to Yeah. be, and it was tremendous. Really good job. Yeah. And this just underlined the line in the sand that's being drawn tonight across almost the entirety of the show. And I absolutely loved it. I thought this was such a well put together show. And this was the start of it. And you know I love me an old school beatdown. And like I said, this is a this is how you do a heel beatdown. And they did it great. And loved it. Good. I'm glad. I'm glad you loved it. That makes me happy for you. Well, that's what I was gonna say. So then Plus Steve Steve Stingson his back and he's back for yeah, then Darby would come out with the bat. He would hand it to Sting Jr. Mm-hmm. And I don't I don't think I've ever seen an oar as a weapon before in pro wrestling. That was pretty dope. I thought at first he had the the br a broom, like Ken he borrowed Kenny Omega's broom, That's I thought too, yeah. but no, it was a boat oar. Yeah. Which was nuts, but often or awful fun, is what I was trying to say. I'm I will be honest that I'm a little bit worried about please don't. Okay. putting Sting Jr. in a Blood and Guts match. And I'm Mm-hmm. I'm partially worried because we aren't that far removed from a pretty nasty concussion or whatever. I assume it was a concussion. I don't know. I'm also a little bit worried that he's gonna try something again like they did in that match. And and I get it that this is the job. They go out, they take risks. Like I Right. Yep. get it. I'm just a little bit worried for him. I am hopeful knowing or not not like we know Tony Khan personally, although we do a little, but seeing how Tony has operated in the past, I am hoping that he has made provisions to protect Steve Stingson in that match and forbid him from doing something stupid like that. To do what they can to protect him and his and his precious, precious bean. So it doesn't get rolled around in his skull. Yeah. Yeah. And turn into beaten, you know, refried up there. 'Cause that would be bad. Yeah. That would be bad. You don't want that. So I'm a little Yeah. Yes, we agree. Yes. Refried beans in your skull. Bad. Can we just agree on that, please? Okay. Thank you. So I'm a little bit worried about it, but it'll be it'll be quite the match, I'm sure. I'm Yeah. I have no doubt about that. So then we would get swerve versus Jabroni K. Jabronsky. Already in the ring? Yeah. I'm gonna just start coming up with different nicknames for them I think. Sure seems like heel swerve his back, doesn't it? my god. Yep. Like I said, I didn't think he was gonna take off his jacket. I don't I think he shouldn't have. I think that's the one I mistake they made is he should have left the jacket on and just Yeah, I agree. done it that quick. And again, we have gone over how we're not real big fans of of doing this, but it was so short, and it actually this one had a point of like you said, really emphasizing he'll swerve his back or at least angry swerve his back. It's Yeah. yet to be determined. But I really liked it. I really did. I thought this was look, if you're gonna do it, do it this way, have him come in, wipe him out, and leave. Liked it a lot. Yeah, it was it was fine. I didn't have it on the mild list, although it was awful close, solely because of swerve and and what you're talking about. Like I think if they had done it where he never took the jacket off, I would have been like, my god, amazing. Like I would have been just laughing through the whole thing and it would have been wonderful. Yep. Yep. You know, it's it's it's served its purpose. It's fine. I'm not gonna crap all over it, but you know. You know how I feel about these in general. So Yep. But what I did like about it was he didn't come out squash and then take eight minutes to yap on the mic. He came out, did a squash, and walked up the ramp. Yeah, that was good. Yep. I think that's why I liked it this time. Yeah, that's fair. I I see that. then Orange Cassidy and Switchblade, Jay White would take on Wheeler Yuta and Danny Garcia, which I thought it was Fun but an odd pairing. And later yeah. Yeah. it would make a lot more sense why they were paired. But O C Blade one though, so I like that. Yeah, yeah. It was fun. This i it for a match with Wheeler Yuta in it, I like, this is a lot of fun. I had to. I had to. We can't bring up Wheeler Yuta without me taking a shot, so Suck on that, you done eat it. Yeah. A little I don't know. I got nothing there. In Yuta, Yuta, if you are gonna eat it, go to DoichFoods.com. Yeah. Enter Elite Heat to get twenty percent off your next order. And then eat it with a spoon, my friend. Eat it up. Yeah, 'cause look if you're gonna eat it, save money. Absolutely. And you totally eat it, Yuta. Yeah. Eat it. Eat the good cookie dough, you son of a bitch. All right. Then BroHangDo was with Renee. I don't know. I What are we doing tonight? What is happening tonight? don't know. It's fine. We're fine. Everything's fine. BroHangDo Yep. and Renee, and I this is what I hit on as I was watching it. I just feel like Hangman seems really out of place with Brodido. It's like. Okay. It it I don't know I can't really fully put my finger on it, but he just feels out of place with them because it's like you got these two dudes who are like kinda having fun, kinda goofy, you know, like Brody or Bandito's kind of goofy, and then Brody kind of goes with it, and then here's serious hangman. You know, and it's a little weird. I don't I just don't feel for me like the chemistry has ever fully been there with those three guys. It feels awkward. It feels a little bit like like their mom made Brodido bring Hangman with Yeah. them. But, Yeah. you know, whatever, so this is fine, and then Swerve comes up and Swerve, as we've established, is very angry. And Mm-hmm. long story short, he challenges them to Texas death for the trios championship at Full Gear, and Hangman says no. So we're getting Texas Death for the trios at Full Gear. I mean, that's happening. yeah, absolutely. Yep. I will say, what I did like about it is I am curious to see what Swerve is going to do to them to bait Hangman into agreeing to it. Yes. Yep. I'm a I'm not sure how I feel about the high likelihood that the titles switch back at Full Gear. Mm. Cause now we're borderline hot shotting them. I don't I've always been one of those people that I don't hate it when you're switching the belt between two people or two teams in a long running feud because to me, you're showing how equal they are, right? Right. Yep. But I do think That whatever happens at Full Gear, it has got to be the end of this feud. I don't know how much more life you can get out of this. I c I can give you that. And the the reason I did like it is oddly, I still think Hangman feels a little awkward, but this is the most coherent those three have felt for me. And when Swerve challenged him to the Texas death, I was really happy that Hangman said, No, this isn't about the trios. This is between you and me, so no, I'm not gonna do that. And for the first time it showed Hangman Like kind of pulling back and and not letting his anger get a hold of him. So for that re that may have been the reason that tipped it from mild to to hot for me, is cause that reaction was new and different. And I'm really intrigued how this is going to turn out. But I'm not convinced they're gonna change the titles at Full Gear. I think BroHangDo keeps it. but I think there's gonna be definite permanent repercussions with Hangman and Swerve. And I'm st I'm telling ya, I'm Want them to walk off in the sunset together. Just go ahead, kiss, make up, do whatever you gotta do, dance in the ring together. I don't care. But those two need to to form on the same side and then leave the Trios titles in a big quand. I agree with you on that. I as soon as Swerve walked in, I immediately went, kiss. And they Thank you. and they didn't, which, you know, whatever. Maybe next time. I let me be You know they wanted to. I know. Let me be clear of I it's not that I disliked this segment by any stretch of the imagination. And Mm-hmm. I agree with you with what you were saying about Hankman saying no to that. I'm like, look at you. You've grown as a person. Good job, buddy. I'm proud of you. Yeah. Yeah, same. It's it's I think very similar for how you feel about the Nick Wayne Jericho stuff. Yeah. I don't think there's anything that these guys can do that's gonna make me go like, okay, I'm back on board. Like it just for me, it's just not hitting. It's like there are people that swear by Rocky Road ice cream, they love it, and that's fine. If you love it, cool. I don't. And I do. well. you're never gonna convince me otherwise. So Yeah. This is my rocky road. I don't love it. You're never gonna gonna convince me otherwise of it. Sorry. Look, whatever they do at Full Gear, which will probably be Texas death, I'm sure I will come away from it going, that was a very good match that made me very uncomfortable. Yes. Cause that's what happens with those. Mm-hmm. I'm not against any of it. I but but whatever happens at Full Gear, whether they switch it or whether they don't, I don't care. It's got to be over. Fair. Cause you have plucked the meat off this bone. Okay, let me throw this at you. Because Yes. it just came to me, and you know, you know how every now and then AEW likes to overbook their matches. So, I don't know what you're talking about. I know I'm making that part up. But what if, now go with me on this one, what if you get the Trios title for the Texas with Texas deat match rules, but those Texas death rules only apply to Swerve and Hangman. The other four can't. Do Texas death stuff, those two can only Texas death each other. Which now that I say it out loud, sounds like a website that would get you banned at work. But or at least written up. Yeah. Now, if any if anyone's listening is going, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. We said the same thing about Clockwork Carnage, and that was dope. So I don't I don't hate the idea. The only thing that I was thinking is I'm not sure how you do it because they're gonna bring so much crap into the ring. Yeah. Well when they tag out, then we have to officially stop, clean the ring, and then the people can kind of And then restart the match. So it's gonna be a four hour long match? Well, it might be. It's AEW pay per view, so it might be. Now, I am ninety-eight percent kidding. But something like that would not shock me. I could almost see it turning into like a I mean it's gonna be Texas death, but I could almost yeah. see it being like a like a dog call like a dog collar match and they're gonna Yeah. hook Swerve and Hangman to each other and then the other four get hooked to each other, you know. I think just those two should be hooked together. I agree, 'cause they're clearly the focal point of the story, but Okay, what do think of this idea? Again, since we're fantasy booking and I'm just making things up off the top of my bean. What if they do that? What if, for the Trios titles, they just chain those two in the ring? You keep the other four outside and they kinda act like lumberjacks. And then those two just beat hell out of each other. Whoever wins, their team gets the titles. Done. I actually don't hate that. I have they I don't think AEW's done a lumberjack match, have they? I don't think they have. If they have it has been a while. That's kind of an interesting idea. It's been a minute 'cause I think they might have done one or two during the COVID era. I think you might be right. Yeah. But nothing on TV in a long, long time. Yeah. That's kind of an interesting idea. Okay. I don't hate it. I'm just and here's why I think that could possibly work. They're never gonna do it. But what it does is it satisfies you and I, which is really what's important, by finally blowing this feud off between those two and doing something with the Trios titles, and then we can move on from that and be done with it. And you don't get the other Yeah. four involved and you don't muddy their waters and you just that's the thing. Yeah, and I think that that's part of my disappointment in this story Okay. is I really felt like putting the belts on Swerve and New Level was a tremendous opportunity to elevate the trios titles. And I'm not sure that's happened in this feud because this feud is not really about the championships. It's really about hangman and swerve hate each That's right. other. And the other four guys are just kind of there. I almost wonder if they're not going to do this and it's just going to be Swerve and Hangman in a Texas death. It it might be Because I'm not sold on New Level agreeing to do Texas Death with Swerve. I had that same thought. Cause we didn't see them tonight, and I'm real intrigued by if they're going to go along with that. Cause I have this gut feeling that they might not want to. Yeah, I had the same thought of that doesn't necessarily I mean, look, again, not like I know them. Maybe they wanted to do this the whole time that they were in WWE, but it just doesn't feel like those two guys like this is up their alley, you know. Right. I'm not saying they're not capable of it, but it doesn't feel like this is their jam and doesn't No, same. Right. feel like this is what they signed up for. Yep. I agree. I agree. So we'll see That's an interesting idea. So then Fair enough. Nick Wayne would roll up in a limo, and really what mattered was the zoom in on the shirt set off the pyro, which was tremendous. So good. I know, I did too, yeah. That was so good. So good. And I loved he pulled up in front of the truck with Jericho's face on it. That was great. So good. And and you know what? This is the first one in a long time from AEW that I went, I might get that shirt. I used to buy them like crazy. I don't know if you've So what are you? noticed, I'm usually wearing one of them. I'm not tonight. Right. This is a rowdy rowdy piper, but I haven't bought one in a long time. But I was like, that R A P Mm. I kind of like that shirt and setting off the promo, I kinda I dig it. I dig what they did there. Yeah, it was fun. I liked it. I like that Then Renee with Mercedes in the ring, and I went, wait, wait, wait a minute. Wait a minute. Let me check the notes again. We're actually doing something with Marina Shafir? Whoa I liked it. Yep. I like it a lot. I'm a big fan of her coming out to get in Mercedes' after Mercedes was like, who's next? Well, apparently it's Marina, and that's going to be. Look, do I think Marina's going to win the title? No, I do not. Do I think it's going to be a very interesting couple of weeks and a pretty fun match at Full Gear? Yes, I do. And that's really all I care about. Yes, I do. And and this plays into the continued evolution of the Death Riders. Huh? The Death Riders going full on face by putting Marina Shafir up against a completely heeled out Mercedes Moné. Because she went full heel mode in the in this promo. Yeah, she has, She really has been since she came back, but yeah. but I mean there were zero doubts about it tonight. She just went full on heel mode and Yeah, Marina coming out, loved it, thought it was great. Although her the one line they let her say was felt really weird and not exactly like timing. Well I don't know. I had the same thought. I was like, that doesn't actually make sense. Right. Does it shouldn't there be been an extra line in there? Like maybe Mercedes go going, I wasn't talking about you or something. Yeah. Yeah, like yes, there needed to be something of Mercedes trying to duck her and then her saying it, but it didn't I yeah, it didn't make a lot of sense. However, the face Mox made after she said it Yeah. is one of the best things that I've ever seen. I love it. I love it so much. So good. Yep. It's gonna be a gift forever, and that's wonderful because it was brilliant work by him there in the one little quick shot of him. Plus they So did they did one of the things that I do enjoy is they sent Roddy out right away. And as Mercedes going back back up, she stops and goes, Take care of your woman. Yeah. Yeah, I enjoyed that. and So funny. So good. Yeah, I like that was good. I loved it. yeah, it was a really good segment. And then that would roll into, like you said, Roddy versus Mox in an eliminator match for the Continental Championship, which Mm-hmm. I it was a very good match. I'm with you until the finish, which was real weird because Yeah. Roddy tapping almost immediately really surprised Well, and the way he felt me. the way he fell into it looked like he did all the work and Mox didn't do anything. It almost looked like Mox like, shit, here you are I guess I'll joke you Yeah, and that that's part of why I was like, I almost feel like they were going long and had to rush to the finish. Like, I don't, I don't Yeah. know. I don't know, but that's what it felt like a little bit to me because it was so out of nowhere. I'm also Yeah. very surprised that Roddy didn't win it. Same, same. And lesser competitors than Roddy have stayed in that choke much longer before Right. tapping. So it was really, really odd. And I liked it up until that point. That's why that match got the mild for me. Although I will I agree. I agree. say, when Moxley hit what I'm now calling the R-Mox-O cutter out of nowhere on Roddy. I like that. I like that a lot. An idiot, okay. But yeah, I l I liked it. So yeah. But then Yeah. It match was hot, finish was mild. But everything after was amazing. Yeah, because then The Dogs come in and they jump Roddy from behind, and Mox comes in to back him down, then he catches the beatdown, then Gabe Kidd comes out to try and make the piece, but he catches a beatdown, so I guess he's not part of The Dogs anymore. And Nope. then the conglomeration comes out and switchblades in to break it up. no, wait. Psych. Here comes the turn for the Bang Bang Gang, and they team up with The Dogs to beat down the Death Riders and the conglomeration. And I will say. I know ultimately Claudio got his ass whooped, but I really appreciated that when he hit the ring, he he properly whooped ass for a minute there. They won a hundred percent made Claudio look like Superman, without Yeah. a doubt. The way he came in and whooped ass and came back more than once after catching a beatdown, the Yep. the uppercut out of the 3:10 to Yuma was tremendous. So good. Absolutely tremendous. So I really liked this whole segment. The only thing that confuses me, and it's just from a kayfabe standpoint, and and I assume they will explain it either on collision or next week. There's really two things that confuse me here. One is I don't know why the Bang Bang Gang would ally themselves with The Dogs, especially Okay. because there's been all that bad blood between Switchblade and Finlay. Mm-hmm. So I hope they explain that. It's not going to be as annoying to me as the Death Riders not explaining multiple attempted murders on Brian Danielson. But I do hope they explain this. The other thing that this isn't a kayfabe thing, this is a math thing. The other thing doesn't make sense to me is if we're gonna do a Blood and Guts between these two teams, which feels a bit to me like where we're going, the numbers don't match up. Because by my count, you have so you got Mox, you got Wheeler, you got Garcia, Kidd, and Claudio. So you got five Death Riders. And then if you do all three of the conglomeration, that's eight. Okay. Mm-hmm. So we got eight there. So then the two dogs, and then Jay White, Juice, Billy Gun Kidd One, Billy Gun Kidd Two, Ace Austin. They're down a man. That's seven. So I don't know how the numbers are going to line up there. I don't know how they're going to do that. Gabe Kidd is on both teams. I okay. Yeah, I mean I could see it I guess. He just fights himself the whole time. Like the whole time he's just headbutting the the turnbuckle. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Yep. And he tries to pin his own pants. Well, it makes me wonder though, this actually just popped in my head. It makes me wonder, is Mark Briscoe about to come back? Ooh, that would be great. Yeah. That'd be amazing. That would solve that. And he'll help. Well no, no, it wouldn't because the the the man disadvantage is on the other side. So that doesn't help. My bad. What? The heel team is down a man. There's eight faces, seven heels. You want me to do it again? Let's do it again. Yeah, 'cause I don't think that's right. No, let's do it again. John Moxley, that's one. Danny Garcia, two. Wheeler Yuta, three. Claudio, four. Gabe Kidd, five. Orange Cassidy, six. Roddy Strong, seven. Kyle O'Reilly, eight. And it's seven on the other side. So you need another heel there, but I don't know who it would be unless they're gonna turn one of the conglomerations. Or they're just gonna take one of out. I guess you That could do that. You could have somebody gets quote unquote injured. Or they could just say, You pick five, we pick five and go from there. I guess that could be it too, yeah. Or or psychokiller. that's kinda interesting. 'Cause he's got nothing to do right Yep. now. Mm-hmm. My guess is they'll they'll probably make pick five or something like that. Yeah, that's kinda interesting. Yeah, that's probably the way to do it is you pick five, we'll pick five and yeah. What I what I thought was really good about this, and I don't know if you caught it on social media or not, but after the pay per view last week, this past weekend, Ace Austin cut a promo saying he was sick and tired of losing. And face good. and basically something's gotta change. And so tonight, afterwards, you could hear him standing up in the corner going, What did you expect us to do? What did you expect us to do? And it was like, Okay. So Okay. yeah, I had not seen that on social media at all. Mm-hmm. That's good. That's a solid explanation right there. If they do that on TV so that everybody sees it, Yeah. good. That's a solid explanation right there. I'm on board with that. I again, I liked this. I liked this whole segment a lot. I just was sitting I loved it. there doing the math going, huh? It doesn't the sides don't add up. So I wonder what they're gonna do. You're probably right of it'll be You pick five, I pick five, and we'll row Shambeau. But we would move on to lots of women beating each other up. So Yeah, that's what I thought too. Women's Blood and Guts. it feels like we're having Yep. Feels like we're having three Blood and Guts matches in two games. Mm-hmm. three. Yep. And then did you catch this that they put up a graphic that first of all, apparently Harley and Statlander are called Wrathlander, which I love. That's a great name. That yeah, that's been going on for a minute. Okay, I haven't seen. I've seen some stuff on social media, but I haven't seen it like that was the official thing. And I guess it's them and the Brawling Birds at Full Gear, according Yep. to the graphics. Yep. Saw that. Might have been something you could have built a little bit tonight, but that's okay. Little bit. The only and what's weird is the only thing I saw on social media it was really recently that Wrathlander did this weird promo where they're outside and they like act like they're like animal spotters or animal hunters and they're talking about the birds and how one of them is injured and the other one Mm. is out there doing something weird and then they just go away. And so it's Yeah. like there wasn't any c like confrontation. It was just the matter of fact, birds weren't even in it. They just came in, talked about it, and left. They didn't say Yeah. we're gonna challenge them for the tide nothing. So it was like, I mean, okay. Yeah, it was it was a little it's it's weird. The whole thing's weird. And that is true. Jamie Hayter is hurt. I know that. But I don't I don't yeah, it's weird. Well, Yeah. Yeah. She got hurt again tonight. They laid her out. yeah. It's very weird. Very weird. Yeah. Speaking of speaking of weird, did you see the promo for the Rascalz saying Yes. saying that they're they've been gearing up for a the trios title shot? I'm like Mhm. Mm. That didn't come until later, but 'cause it's in my notes, but yeah. But I know, but I'm like Wh what? Okay. Okay. Here here's here's the thing about it. How long have we been saying it of build the trios division? And that's part of what I don't love about the way that Hangman and Swerve have overshadowed the trios championship story is because you Exactly. could have been having these teams fight other trios teams and we haven't done that at all. And Nato. how long have we been saying specifically with The Rascalz, please do something with them? So I am on board for that. My problem with it is. Three months. one hundred percent. Yeah, my problem with it is I don't think they're gonna win whenever they get their shot. no, I agree. I agree. And on the odd chance that they do win, you're almost guaranteed not to see those belts on dynamite. They'll Yeah. Yeah. probably be defended on ROH, probably on collision at best. Probably on c yeah, you're right. Mm, it'd be a lot on collision, I think. I don't think they'll put on ROH, but but yet you're probably not gonna see on dynamite. So Probably not. I like it because I want them to do something with The Rascalz. But Same. I don't think this has long term legs. Now, I could very well be wrong, but I don't know. I Yeah. just want them to build the if you're gonna do it, do it. Build the division. That's all. Yeah. And what did we s what did we say when BroHangDo was going at it? They had all those teams Right. lined up and it's like, my God, finally, finally. And then nope, it's down to BroHangDo and Swerve Day. Mm. And new house. Yeah. New house. I forgot what I called them. Yeah, there we go. Yeah. So then Nick Wayne would come cut his promo and again we would get the pyro, which is super fun. I really like Mm-hmm. that gimmick. then Jericho would come out for a douchebag off. 'cause let's be honest, they both are. Uh-huh. It was kind of weird. It went too long. It makes me like I said earlier, it makes me think that this isn't over and it probably should be. But Mm-hmm. probably Full Gear with a stipulation. Be my guess. I'll say this. I liked Jericho in this with his speech of you know telling I agree. telling Nick Wayne that he could be so great if he just got out of his own way, basically. Mm. But there this is talk about overbooking. This this promo was so overbooked and Nick Wayne wasn't in the ring thirty seconds and I went, This is already going take eating up too much time because he hadn't said anything. And I'm like, my god, stop chewing the scenery and just get to it so that we can see you say the phrase and see the pyro. Yeah, and I know that that's part of the gimmick with him. I know that him being Mm-hmm. Yeah. a scenery chewing douchebag is the gimmick. I get it. I actually don't even hate that for him, but they've got to time these better. We keep going too long on these. They've got to time these better. And like the the bit where he kept interrupting Jericho. W okay, do it do it once, maybe twice, but they did too many of that and it just, you know, he drug out the whole, you know, read my lips. I'm sorry, you know, it just there Yeah. there's some easy edits here that trim that up and make it a lot tighter and make it flow a bit better. But, you know, whatever. I to some degree that's nitpicky. To some degree it's also like, like I said, I think this should be done. And it doesn't appear that it is, so okay. We're Mm-hmm. gonna get at least one more of these, I would bet. Did you notice? I'm sure you did. Jericho pulled out the shut the hell up line, like you said, playing those greatest hits still. Still doing that. yeah. yeah. He's playing the greatest hits. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. then Britt and Persephone would come out for commentary for the number one contenders match or the number one TBS title contenders match, I should say, between Queen Aminata and Maya World. And yay! I asked for it and they did it. They're putting Queen Aminata in a proper program. Like, yay! Thank you for listening, guys. Yeah, that was great. My first question was, why is it not Hyan instead of Maya World? Well, I wondered that a little bit too. I think it was more of a, hey, look, she's back. She's she's cleared. Hey, look, she's back. That's fine. I agree. Hyan would have made some more sense there given what's been going on the past couple of weeks. I think they're trying to keep the heat and the momentum that they've had going with Maya World. I don't think they want to lose that. And I get that, but you've actually done a really good job of heating Hyan up alongside that, which is why I thought Yes. they should be next for the women's tag team titles. And I'm confused Yeah. by the Wrathlander of it all. But I think you could have kept Maya in the in the picture if you would have swapped their roles tonight. If you would have had Hyan and then have Maya World come in like the superhero for the save, maybe she gets in a shot or two on Persephone. She gets the nice you know, the nice shine from beating up the bad guys, and she's still getting a good rub and she's still in the picture. So I don't know. I it was fine. The match was fine. But it's weird that after liking Maya World for so long, seeing Hyan heat up like this, it's like, I'd actually rather see Hyan in this shot than Maya World, to be honest. That's fair. I liked this match, I think, more than you did. I actually thought Maya World looked better in this match than a lot of the ones she had in the run up to the TBS title and once she had it. And that's not to say she looked bad. I thought Right. there were some there were several spots that I was like, wow, that looked really good. it felt to me like she was more confident in the ring tonight than maybe she had been, you know, couple months ago. And maybe that I personally was part of just how she was playing the character, given the the position that she was in. but that's how it felt to me tonight, and I liked that. I liked the match. I'm ha like I said, I'm very happy they're doing something with Queen Aminata. but I huh. I get what you're saying. They gotta figure out what they're gonna do with Maya World and Hyan, and they gotta figure it out like, you know, quick. Yeah. I mean, I get it because you need someone because Persephone is so hot and you need someone to be her foil. So you have to keep an enough irons in the fire to feed that. I oddly enough, and maybe it's just recency bias, because I think it was near the end that I thought Maya World looked a little clunky. there were a couple moves there at the end. And again, I'm she's still pulling off things I could never do with eight years of training, so I'm not crapping on her. There's just and and I think also I fell into the trap that they kind of fell in. They had to follow well, they followed Nick Wayne and Jericho, but they had in the ring as far as action goes, they followed one of the biggest shockers of the evening and one of the biggest Yes. beatdowns of the night in it just in a long time. And Yeah. then you just got a one-on-one matchup. And so it the the energy definitely felt lower. And I think that's why it didn't make my hot list. And it really I'm not doing them a a I'm not doing them justice by saying it shouldn't have made the hot list 'cause it the match itself probably should have, but that's what I said and I'm I'm just gonna be a jerk and see about it. Yeah, I mean it well, look, you know, to each their own. Again, there's thirty-one flavors for a reason. But I just I liked the match. Again, part of that might be my, you know, I want things, good things for Queen Aminata because I'm impressed by her progress. I'm impressed by Maya World's progress. So I want good same. things for her too. And same thing with Hyan. I just think, you know, i you could only put one person in the match. I mean, I guess you'd you could do another four way, but Yeah. you just did it. Mm-hmm. So you could only put one of them in whenever the match is going to be, I assume, at Full Gear. So that's where I go. Don't lose the momentum with both Hyan and Maya World. Don't lose that. So True. Mm-hmm. that's why I thought the tag titles make a lot of sense for them. But here we are. Yep. And maybe by by Full Gear we can be ready for them to approach whoever wins there. Yeah. Whoever wins, yeah. Yeah, we'll see. Yep. Don Callis Family promo would come after The Rascalz hype video that we talked about. good promo, because of course it was. It's Don Callis. Yep. But I was like, I thought we already made it official, the match. Cause it was like, breaking news from Don Callis, the match is official for Blood and Guts. I like, did didn't we already do that? Yeah, I think that might have played out of turn. But Well, I don't even think it's that. I guess maybe it was me just making the assumption because Sting Jr. said Blood and Guts and that's how wrestling works. You say the thing and now True. it happens. So Well, and I don't think the teams had been really clearly defined at that point because only Matt Jackson came out, That's fair. not both. So it it's possible. I thought they had already said it too, but maybe they hadn't. But I Yeah, it's fine. I mean it's it's not a big deal. No, I really liked this promo. I thought it was great and I loved Okada, you know, with what what do we love more than money? Family. Loved it. And see Yeah. Yep. That was good. let me just say, finally seeing them. on the same page and deciding to go after the titles. Holy crap. Finally. Finally, Don Callis is doing what I think he should have been doing for a long time now. And they're all click. I mmm big fan of what's going on the Don Callis Family right now. Big fan. Yep. Yep, I agree. Good stuff. then Joe and the ops would happen. And my first thought was, Well, there it is. Joe going, Well, I actually beat you, Will Ospreay. So I'm glad they did that. Jack Perry Yep. Mm-hmm. would interrupt because apparently Jack just wants to get his ass beat again. I don't know. Yes, he does. Okay. But to me, the main thing that I'm looking at there is I was going. Nope. No Anthony Bowens. So I guess that he's no longer with the company. I don't know. Probably. But 'Cause I know that both he and Max's contracts are up. Max obviously is not with the company anymore. If Nope, no he's not. Is he? I didn't catch that, but Nope, he's not with anybody right now. He's he's going to rehab, by the way. not rehab, counseling. He's going to counseling. He wrestled ACW's show over the weekend and said he's gonna step away from wrestling and he's gonna get some therapy. I saw that that he was gonna step away, but I didn't see the counseling part of it. So, okay. Okay. I mean so I have thoughts on it, but whatever. Yeah. but so I thought they were gonna try and get something done with Anthony Bowens though, and I guess they haven't. So Mm mm. that's a bummer. Yeah, they just subtly replaced him. Mm-hmm. So that was interesting. But ultimately, what this really boils down to is is Jack's gonna get his ass beat again by Joe and okay. Yep. Yeah. And then speedball and Dragunov, and that was great. The crane kick was wonderful. Mm-hmm. Dragunov is here to beat everybody's ass. It was great. It was my match of the night. It was great. I don't really have anything else to say. I liked it a lot. It was not my match of the night, but it was really, really, really good. Which one was yours? Well, I'm kind of torn now because if it's just match of the night, Ospreay Cope and ProtoJet, possibly my match of the night. But I am doing what I do, which is call a match of the night that wasn't a match, and that's the beatdown after Roddy Strong and Mox. Should have known. Yeah. And I'm I mean it. That was one of my favorite parts of the whole night. So it's like, yeah, is it a No, it was good. match? No. But it's my favorite one of my favorite things that happened. So yeah. That's kind of my match of the night. That beatdown was great. That I loved the lines being drawn in the sand. I loved the teams shoring up. I loved people making decisions to do a thing and just going for it. And I really like, especially with this, I liked them not dragging out who's gonna turn and where we're gonna see and what's it's like, nope, here it is. We're all Yeah. Yeah. of the dog all The Dogs are going in, you know, bang, bang, gang. We're going in. This is what we're doing. Gabe kids like, I'm not gonna play, you know, I'm not gonna play Adam Yeah. Hangman Adam Page and wishy washy it around. No, I'm on I'm on the Death Riders moving forward, period. So I Yep. Yep. really liked how they played this out. Big fan of tonight's show. I love the whole damn show. I thought it was great. No, I mean I agree with you. It was a great show. I and I agree of there are clean lines drawn here tonight, Mm-hmm. which you don't always get. And I liked that a lot. And again, a lot of interesting things got set up tonight for both Blood and Guts and Full Gear. And I like I said, I don't think I expected about any of And that's never a bad thing. Like I thought No. No, there were a lot of surprises to me. I was I was absolutely certain. That the full Cope heel turn was happening tonight, and it was going to be him and Ospreay at Full Gear. I was positive that was happening tonight. And instead, here comes this setup between Cope and Okada. okay. I didn't even remotely consider that. That makes me happy, you know. So a lot of stuff here made me happy. I'm I really like where it's headed going into Full Gear. And yeah, I and I'm with you. I think we're getting three Blood and Guts matches, and that's probably gonna be the whole Blood and Guts show. I think one hundred research. I mean, there'll be some promos in between, but that's I think really gonna be it. Yep, they might throw in a singles match or two to calm you down a little bit, but Yeah, maybe. Yeah. three matches could fill two hours pretty easily, especially if you have that many people in you know. So Yeah. Yep. Absolutely. I'm really excited for Blood and Guts, especially if it's, you know, if we get those three different matches. I it's gonna be it's gonna be good. I'm looking forward to the Yeah, and chaos. yep. Yep, it's gonna be it is going to be chaotic, that is for damn sure. Yep. And actually, like you said, I'm really happy to see Cope going after Okada because I think I think I am too. Yeah. throwing him at Ospreay right now is too much too soon, and there's too many other Exactly. variables with the world title right now. And I love, love, love that Kyle Fletcher pinned him tonight, and now you have that heating up a hundred percent. So love that. That can go. You can have Okada and Cope go at it because You need something for Cope to do because I get the feeling that Christian's not going be back for a minute. So let That's what I think too. Yeah. him go and hell, maybe he could win that title. That's fine. I mean he can carry it for a while. Yeah. Yeah. I think it makes way more sense to put that belt on him than the world title. And, you know, Right now anyway. yeah, right now. Yeah. And that's exactly what, you know, I was trying to get at w after WrestleDream and our WrestleDream show of you don't have to do that world title feud right now. You No. don't. And I think it's better to not do it. And I think him and Okada makes all the sense in the world. You know, I mean, this is going to be We know what it's gonna be. They're gonna line up all the opponents that he wants to work with over the course of the next year. And that's great. And, you know, as long as he stays healthy, it's gonna give us a bunch of fun matches and a bunch of cool matchups. And you can do the world title somewhere, you know, in mid twenty twenty seven. That'd be fine. That'd be fine. Yeah. Yep. Yeah. Do it at all in, out, one of those two. Make that happen. Or Sure, why not? Yeah. Yeah. So at their Canadian pay per view, which I'm sure they'll do. Well, so I will say right now that yeah, they'll pr they'll do some stuff in Canada, but whatever pay per view ends up in Toronto, that's gonna be his final show because they are w they are okay. working to line up a show in Toronto that will be his that's it for him. Yeah. That makes sense. Yep, that makes sense. Yeah. So whenever that comes out, that's gonna be the ball game for for Edge. So yeah. Yep. There we go. All right then. with that, like, share, and subscribe this year show and you know spread it around to your friends, not unlike chicken pox. So do that, you know, it's important. Or cat allergies.
