- 0:00I'm terrified someone's going to hear it up to that part and then
- 0:02immediately hit stop and go eat a next card.
- 0:04Do not take next card. Victory for the Forsaken for
- 0:09Lauderon for the Karen Tour for Pandaria for Calendar to the
- 0:14Burning region. For Gilneus, but has not died.
- 0:21For the Lynch king. For the the.
- 0:30Cindora for the Alliance, for the Core, for Azeroth.
- 0:45Hello and welcome to another episode of For Azeroth.
- 0:47I'm one of your hosts, John, and today I am joined by the one and
- 0:51only Flex Rance. Flex.
- 0:53Thanks for being here. And how's the World of Warcraft
- 0:55been treating you? It's been treating me well.
- 0:57I do appreciate the way you phrase that made it seem like
- 0:59Manny was the second Lex Rance. Like if, if he was here, I
- 1:03wouldn't have been the one and only Lex Rance, 'cause there
- 1:05would have been 2. That's right, yeah.
- 1:07The world. Was treating me good.
- 1:10We're my raiding team is where we have a couple officers
- 1:14traveling and stuff. So we're on a little bit of a
- 1:16raid break, but we did do a heroic pug re clear on Monday,
- 1:22which is very fun. You know, get to shake off a
- 1:24little dust and get a couple crests and move on with it.
- 1:27We are on Crown right now, so we will be hopefully pushing past
- 1:31that and moving into Bellerin. We've got the the little spiky
- 1:36horn guy who by the way, I think is such a cutie.
- 1:39I think that he just needs a little family.
- 1:40Like yeah, I think he needs to be rescued.
- 1:43He needs a little snuggly bed and a bowl full of yummy treats.
- 1:46I think he's a little bike. I have no idea who you're
- 1:49talking about. What spiky horn guy?
- 1:51Did Guy with the little the undreamed God?
- 1:54What's his name? Oh, Guy Maris, Guy Maris I had.
- 2:00That is the worst description of that boss I have ever heard.
- 2:04The little spiky whore I was like it should have been
- 2:07Paladin's before Crown of the Cosmos.
- 2:09What? What?
- 2:10Spiky horned. I get it now, he has the one
- 2:14horn. He might be an antler.
- 2:16Whoever got mad at me for not knowing about crawfish might get
- 2:18mad at me for that one too. Yeah, our we definitely have
- 2:22some listeners that are like big into the animal genealogy and
- 2:25making sure we're using proper terminology for for what species
- 2:28and everything they are. So Chimeris, that's definitely
- 2:31an antler because it's wide and flat and looks like it's from a
- 2:34moose. Congrats on Chimeris.
- 2:36I wanted to ask, I've actually been really curious, did you
- 2:38guys normally do a blind frog boss?
- 2:40But you were going blind for like most of this tear, right?
- 2:44So we try, we did normal blind. We did end up watching videos.
- 2:49I think if I remember correctly, it was around the around
- 2:55Paladins that we, we started watching videos again 'cause it
- 2:57was just getting tough and we were like, this is not something
- 3:00we really want to figure out on our own.
- 3:02I don't know what our plan is going to be for the next year.
- 3:06I think I personally was feeling a little frustrated with it.
- 3:10I think it was less fun than I was used to.
- 3:12I think I didn't, which is crazy because when I was hearing about
- 3:16the add-ons going away, I was like, this is going to be so fun
- 3:19and amazing because it's what I really want.
- 3:21Right? Like I, I, you know, every time
- 3:23it tells me like, oh, that's a stack.
- 3:25I'm like, oh, but we're doing a blind and I think that I might
- 3:30have actually been enjoying having normal be a little bit of
- 3:32a face roll more than I thought. But I don't know if that's
- 3:36universal for the team. So we'll probably have some
- 3:39conversations among the officers.
- 3:40We'll have some conversations with the team and make a
- 3:43decision and also see what next tier looks like.
- 3:45This tier was a particularly mechanic heavy tier.
- 3:50I felt like like that first boss was a lot of mechanics for a
- 3:55first boss, which like, you know, Oh no, my steak is too
- 3:58juicy, right? Like my raid bosses are too fun.
- 4:00But I it it it felt like everything they were kind of
- 4:04flexing the fact that they could do like they're like, oh, look
- 4:09at all these mechanics that we can do even though you don't
- 4:11have weak auras. So it it felt more challenging
- 4:15to do blind than I was used to. Yeah, I could see that.
- 4:20We do have weak auras at home though, we have Timu weak auras.
- 4:24So that's. We we we all went DBM at
- 4:30Dragons. I like we were so like that.
- 4:33That is the most like wall boss. I've hit like that early in a
- 4:37tier, which I think I think we're doing some stuff wrong.
- 4:40Like I don't think it was just that, but it just and once we
- 4:44got DBM and it started announcing the fears better, we
- 4:46were like, OK. When you guys are getting ready
- 4:49for Midnight Falls for Lura Prague let me know.
- 4:52There is a very popular guide channel that put out a video
- 4:59that I I don't think is the best plan and I actually made one for
- 5:07Dayglo, another build that I know that I think is better and
- 5:12I will send it to you. You can send it to your officers
- 5:14if they're interested in it. It just really makes that fight
- 5:17a lot more assistant. And I think I don't want to say
- 5:23the name on on the air because I really like the channel that I I
- 5:26think they actually missed on a couple of bosses this year, but
- 5:30they're pretty popular. So you are probably watching
- 5:32them for tips, but I will send you some details after for for a
- 5:37way to make that boss a little bit easier.
- 5:38And I have a little fun video you can watch it says hi day
- 5:41glow in the video. Just we can dub over that and we
- 5:44can just say hi. Timbermont Tavern.
- 5:46Hell yeah, Hell yeah. I'll do it too.
- 5:48So just to make sure, it's like you're super smooth.
- 5:50They'll never, they'll never know.
- 5:52Yeah, so we can even just have you pre, you can just rerecord
- 5:55all of the vocals and just be like, hey guys, I just threw
- 5:58this together. This is just something I threw
- 5:59together quick little. A quick little thing.
- 6:02Yeah, me, my like right in the bottom of the DPS charts.
- 6:04But I figured out who wrote it super easy, so let's get it all
- 6:08done. Yeah, press me.
- 6:10It works perfect. Yeah.
- 6:14I will, I will say Taldenos I think is some of my favorite
- 6:20bosses in at least in the very much with a tier.
- 6:23I went into Taldenos, like not super in love with it.
- 6:28I didn't, I, I can't really verbalize why I didn't love Void
- 6:30Spire, but I didn't love Void Spire.
- 6:32I thought it was frustrating and, and just like anything that
- 6:36was feeling challenging just felt annoying instead of like,
- 6:40Oh yeah, we're going to like figure it out and do it a little
- 6:42bit more perfectly. And then we went to Ballarat and
- 6:44I'm like, this is the most, this is the best thing that's ever
- 6:47happened to me. This is amazing.
- 6:49This is perfect. It sucks, it's horrible.
- 6:50We're all dying. But also I'm having a good time
- 6:52and like, this feels like a thing that I can figure out if I
- 6:55sit and I play with the puzzle enough.
- 6:57And I, I do think L'ura was a fun box too.
- 7:01I'm, I'm excited to hit her on heroic and and see what that
- 7:03looks like. Yeah, she's a fun fight.
- 7:06She's a fun fight. Bella Ren is I think is my
- 7:07favorite fight of the Tear, if I'm being honest.
- 7:09I really on all three difficulties, normal, heroic,
- 7:12mythic, it just feels fun. And I wonder if part of it is
- 7:14because it's the only one that's kind of in like a bright, openly
- 7:18lit courtyard where everything else is like boidy and purple
- 7:21and kind of dim. Or we have a little spiky boy in
- 7:25his like, gloomy, foggy dream rift.
- 7:28But Bella Ran is like, here's his beautiful, brightly lit
- 7:30courtyard. The boss himself is gorgeously
- 7:33lit. I wonder if that has an impact
- 7:35that we don't realize on why we like that fight more because it
- 7:38is punishing on tanks. Oh, I can't even imagine.
- 7:43Well, I, I think it also, to be fair, the, the mechanics are
- 7:45hard. They're mostly personal
- 7:47responsibility, right? Like you, I, I guess the soaps
- 7:51can get a little bit messy and funky, but it's less of a like
- 7:54one person is going to wipe the entire raid, but it is like
- 7:57you've got to focus up or you are cooked right.
- 7:59Like they will not give you a, a second chance if you screw that
- 8:03up or stand the wrong place. But it's, it's very distinct
- 8:06color. So, you know, it is extremely
- 8:08doable. Yeah.
- 8:09I, I, I think it is frustrating when a boss feels like, Oh my
- 8:16God, I like, you know, moved 1/2 inch too much or I thought, I
- 8:20thought that was the blue in the, the, the officers called
- 8:24for me to go over to purple and I didn't realize what like that
- 8:27we were saying different things like, Oh my God, the two
- 8:30Dragons. We learned very early that we
- 8:32have different definitions of blue and purple.
- 8:36So we have, but now we call them the Dark One and the Light 1.
- 8:39Yeah, that's way they're 'cause they're both purple Lex.
- 8:41Yeah, well, I, I people were saying like, go to the blue one.
- 8:45I'm like. No.
- 8:47Girl. No, they're both.
- 8:49They're both purple. Dark and Light works.
- 8:52You can use their names, Valgor and Nazerac.
- 8:54That works too. Dark and Light's probably
- 8:55easier. It's definitely not a blue 1
- 8:59though. That person should get checked.
- 9:04Let's you want to roll out of some news.
- 9:06We're talking about the raid. We might as well hit some raid
- 9:08news while we're at it. Let's chat about it.
- 9:10What's going on with the? Raid All right, so the Hall of
- 9:13Fame for March Hall of Fame for Dream Roof was already closed.
- 9:16Void Spire closed and as of this Tuesday reset.
- 9:18So yesterday, as of our recording, the Hall of Fame for
- 9:23March on Queldonas has officially closed.
- 9:26So 200 guilds hit the kill mark I think around Sunday.
- 9:29And then there's always some scragglers once they see that
- 9:32200 that you see teams putting overtime in trying to push, it's
- 9:35always or not always, but usually a little bit above 200
- 9:37teams to get that cut off. And that has officially closed.
- 9:41And when that closed, that also triggered the next round of
- 9:45nerfs for Lura. And they are, they're pretty
- 9:49significant nerfs. We have Heaven's Glades so this
- 9:53was already nerfed on heroic, but Heaven's glaves maximum
- 9:56duration was reduced to one minute from 2 minutes.
- 9:58What this means is that's huge, huge change.
- 10:01So in P1 the the boss shoots out these glaves and when they were
- 10:05lasting for two minutes it meant 2 sets of glaves would overlap.
- 10:09So you would have to be dodging and glaves at a time, bouncing
- 10:12around the arena like beyblades. It was craziness, and that's a
- 10:17very old boy. You probably have never heard of
- 10:21Lex but Beyblades. Were extremely popular my my
- 10:24Guild describes every mechanic like this is beyblades.
- 10:27I this is literally where I learned about beyblades.
- 10:30It's just the fact that constantly they're like, this is
- 10:33the Beyblades. I love it.
- 10:35They also reduce the spread so that's a huge.
- 10:37So that change means you're only ever going to have 5 glaves
- 10:41bouncing around at a time. The glaves in P1 are like P1 is
- 10:44like wipe fest. And those glaves are the biggest
- 10:45reason why. But those gone, that's less
- 10:48chance of a glave hitting a crystal, less chance of a glave
- 10:50hitting a person and sparking soaks, all all kinds of stuff.
- 10:53Less chance of those glaves killing somebody.
- 10:55That's a huge change that everybody I think was expecting.
- 10:57And then we also saw a reduction on the spread of the midnight
- 11:00crystals on mythic difficulty though L'ura spawns in, in
- 11:04normal heroic, she spawns prismatic safeguards, those 3
- 11:08prisms that that rotate around her and decrease damage.
- 11:11She takes until they're interrupted 4 times and then
- 11:14they explode into these crystals on mythic.
- 11:17They're not a safeguard prism, they're like a damaged prism and
- 11:21they increase your damage done by 33% while they're alive till
- 11:24they get interrupted and you have to then they explode in
- 11:27crystals. Right now it made it so that you
- 11:29you didn't need three death Knights, but it it made it a lot
- 11:32easier if you had three death Knights because the the last set
- 11:35of those crystals, because there's no Don crystals to spawn
- 11:38from that set, they explode more.
- 11:41Though there's extra things to grip.
- 11:42What teams have been doing if they're only running two death
- 11:44Knights is using a series of knocks to bring them in closer
- 11:47and then trying to DPS them down that way.
- 11:49They're decreasing that spread, so they're going to shoot out
- 11:52less far, which means 2D KS will be will be more than enough to
- 11:55use their raid buff. And then star splinter damage.
- 11:58That's the intermission when you get the stars on you.
- 12:01The initial hit from that was reduced by 20% of I think
- 12:04difficulty and criticality. That's the circles in P2 was
- 12:07also reduced by 20%. So those to just make it like
- 12:10the criticality change means you might be able to survive an
- 12:12overlap maybe, but those should make prog easier.
- 12:15The biggest change though is that Heaven's Glades, because
- 12:18it's going to let teams get 2P2 and P3 more consistently.
- 12:22Big changes, very happy for that.
- 12:24Do you air if it gets easier, does that you even register?
- 12:30I just realized I'm telling you I'm out.
- 12:32Like I'm excited about these changes and you're I'm realizing
- 12:34you're probably giving them no thought at all.
- 12:38I, I mean, I think I like, obviously it doesn't directly
- 12:42affect me and my life, but I, I want the first of all, first of
- 12:48all, I love getting in other people's business.
- 12:50That makes me so happy. I love having opinions about
- 12:52things that do not affect me in any way, because when things
- 12:55affect me, then I actually, you know, it matters, right?
- 12:58But if not, I can just experience the joy of, you know,
- 13:02rage. We all love it.
- 13:04We all, we all love that. So, so I, but also, I mean, you
- 13:07know, I have friends who do obviously you and I have the
- 13:09young people who do mythic raid and I want that.
- 13:12I I understand that not everyone is AOTC only Raider and so I
- 13:19want the game to be healthy because I don't want our top
- 13:22players to not be having a good time right?
- 13:27Like the people who dedicate a lot of time to the game I think
- 13:30should be hopefully having fun. I had the energy of like, yeah,
- 13:34I have friends, but you wouldn't know them, they're from Canada.
- 13:39To actually, I think the people I am thinking are from Canada.
- 13:46I love it. Yeah.
- 13:46So those, those are some changes.
- 13:48No changes to Heroic, but Heroics already had a few rounds
- 13:51of nerfs, so it should be in a pretty progable state.
- 13:55I'm excited to see you guys get there and track that 'cause I
- 13:57think it'll be a lot of fun. And we're working on L'ura now,
- 14:00so I'm also excited for us. I'm very excited.
- 14:02Did you? You got HOF on Voidspire, right?
- 14:06No, we got HOF on Dream Rift, Spiky horn guy.
- 14:12Yeah, we got Dreamers, spiky horn guy.
- 14:15HOF We missed HOF on Void Spire. I want to say it by two resets,
- 14:22but I don't know exactly, but it's it's around the two reset
- 14:25mark is when we missed it. We're not.
- 14:27I mean, we only raid two nights a week and there it's Tuesday
- 14:30and Sunday or sorry, it's Thursday and Sunday, which makes
- 14:34it harder because when you raid that, when you raid later in the
- 14:36week, your world ranking or your US ranking.
- 14:39It's here's a fun side fact. Nobody ever says they're EU
- 14:43rank. And I have a theory as to why.
- 14:45So whenever you go, if you go to there's a recruitment Guild, a
- 14:48recruitment discord, you go there, there's, it's like the NA
- 14:52recruitment discord. It'll teams will be posting and
- 14:55they will post what their world rank is if their world rank is
- 14:58good, but a lot of them will just post their NA ranks.
- 15:01So they'll be like, oh, it's NA rank 150, and they go, what's
- 15:04your world rank 0500, 600? Oh, imagine being 500 in the
- 15:09world. But it's funny of shit.
- 15:12Why this is funny to me is that a lot of NA teams only ever
- 15:18function in their NA, right? They don't ever mention their
- 15:21there's just we're looking for Raiders who have experience in
- 15:25an NA 200 + 200, a better Guild. Nobody, no, nobody on NA ever
- 15:30says what world, but on EU all they mention is world because.
- 15:34And here's my theory. They know that the world rank is
- 15:38so much better because every like EU teams just seem to crush
- 15:40the NA teams for the most part. So they're like, well, we're
- 15:43just going to put our world rank because we know if we put our EU
- 15:47rank, it's still much higher than what the NA teams would be.
- 15:49So they're just going to put their world.
- 15:50It's like this weird flex that happens that I don't think
- 15:53people are like physically or mentally aware of happening.
- 15:56But it's like if you will, if any EU team at all, they only
- 15:59ever give their ranks an E in in world ranks.
- 16:01But NA teams will either only give NA ranking or will give
- 16:05both but they always mention that NA rank.
- 16:07It's so weird to me anyway. That is very fun.
- 16:10I I'm also really curious about the fact that the EU seems to be
- 16:14so much better than NA at video games.
- 16:19It's a larger player base. I think that that factors into
- 16:21it. They have better, yeah.
- 16:26Than the US plus Canada. Yeah, EU is larger than NA and
- 16:30OCE and at the risk of potentially offending some
- 16:35people. Europe has better social
- 16:38infrastructure though. People are able to spend more
- 16:41quality time playing, they're doing their hobbies and and
- 16:44engaging that way. Whereas North America has, well,
- 16:50not as great social infrastructure for people.
- 16:53I'm trying so hard not to make people angry and leave the show
- 16:56for political takes. This isn't a take, this is a
- 16:58fact. Oh yeah, I'll, I'll second this.
- 17:01I I was wondering if it was that was kind of my gut too.
- 17:04Is that it's just, you know, you have more access to to time and
- 17:10and. Yeah, when you have to work 7
- 17:13jobs just to pay your rent, it's makes it hard to have time to,
- 17:17to game unless I, I mean, we should all move to New York.
- 17:19They're doing anyway. That's not that's not this kind
- 17:21of show. Thumbs up for New York, though.
- 17:25We. Oh yeah.
- 17:27We stand New York more. We're going to switch.
- 17:30We're going to pivot. We're pivoting.
- 17:31Hey, if you haven't turned us off yet, we're pivoting.
- 17:33Relax. We're pivoting.
- 17:36There's I I want to, I'm excited to get L'ura down and I assume
- 17:39you are excited to get working on Ballarat and get L'ura
- 17:41because we have 12 point O .7 coming up.
- 17:43Spore fall is launching. That's the new one boss rate and
- 17:46we had some PTR testing. Did you have a chance to either
- 17:49do the testing or see any of the videos of the boss?
- 17:52No, this is all. This is all new to me.
- 17:54Have you I assume? I didn't test it.
- 17:57I have sworn off testing this expansion because of the
- 18:02personal protest. I've sworn off.
- 18:04I don't need to. If you've listened to the show
- 18:05for more than one episode, you know why.
- 18:07But I, I didn't, but I didn't watch testing of it and it looks
- 18:14fun. It looks to be a boat, the
- 18:16challenge level I expected, which is not much of one at all.
- 18:21And I think that's important because it's launching on June
- 18:2416th. Not confirmed, but I'm if you're
- 18:26listening to the show, you can write that down.
- 18:29It's June 16th. Blizzard hasn't announced it
- 18:31yet. I'm telling you, June 16th is
- 18:33when that badge is coming. All of the everything points to
- 18:38that date. So if it's not June 16th, I will
- 18:41do an episode where I only speak in Klingon.
- 18:47Yeah, I had the Did you not get the Klingon dictionary when you
- 18:49were a child to learn because French was too easy?
- 18:53No, we were the, we were the like Baller's Gate and like
- 18:56Renfair style of nerds. We did watch some Voyager, but
- 19:01never honestly. That was also when I was a
- 19:02little, a little past the age when I would have learned
- 19:04Klingon. Are you like fluent?
- 19:06Wait, can you like say something?
- 19:08I'm not gonna. I'm not a monkey that will Just
- 19:10Dance for your entertainment. Lex, this is I have to get my
- 19:12prediction wrong for the Klingon episode to happen.
- 19:16All right. Sounds like something that
- 19:18someone who doesn't speak Klingon would say.
- 19:20Well that's what a non Klingon speaker would think.
- 19:24And I'll, I'll, I'll own that I'm not pretending that I know
- 19:27how to speak Klingon because I got the Klingon dictionary when
- 19:30I was a kid. War of all anyway, looks like
- 19:34it's fun. It's going to drop 259 to 298
- 19:37item level gear depending on what difficulty you do it at,
- 19:40which is 9 item levels higher than the current tier.
- 19:44So if you are already done the rain and you're looking forward
- 19:47to your break of the race are you looking for?
- 19:49If you're Break of Warcraft, you're ready to log back in on
- 19:51June 16th and from that boss at least once a week.
- 19:55But it looks like fun. Yeah.
- 19:56Well, that that one, we're excited because that's the one
- 20:00where we might be able to do Flex Mythic.
- 20:02I don't know that we've made a decision on our raid team as to
- 20:06whether or not we're going to do flex Mythic, but I mean, it
- 20:10would be fun, right, If we could push a little further.
- 20:13I think I'm, I'm, if you're wondering who's voting what in
- 20:17the Timbermont Tavern officer team Lex is voting that we like,
- 20:20we try, right? We see what happens.
- 20:22We dip our little toes in. She's voting voting pro mythic
- 20:26flex and also to kick Trevor. She's had enough of his
- 20:29bullshit. Absolutely, Trevor, you're on
- 20:33the thin ice. As I said that I was like, man,
- 20:36I hope there's no Trevor on her team and if there is, this is a
- 20:40hard way for them to find out if.
- 20:42There is. I don't know their their real
- 20:43life name unless yeah no. OK, All right, We're saying
- 20:49Trevor. That was a close one.
- 20:51The close one from Mondani to Trevor.
- 20:53We're going to keep rolling. We're going to go into updates
- 20:56of bug fixes. Lex, we had an update.
- 21:00I complained last week about crests and being capped and how
- 21:04it sucks and Blizzard probably didn't hear me but maybe they
- 21:09did because. Fast stuff is back.
- 21:11Fast stuff. It's like, all right, you guys
- 21:12had your little whiny episodes. I will listen to you once you're
- 21:16like a little bit through that. Yeah, that's right.
- 21:19So we have uncrept, uncrept uncapped crests now, so you can
- 21:23farm to your heart's content. You can use your bonus rolls to
- 21:26get your mythic drops from plus 10s and spam that and get get
- 21:31maxed out and get ready for these this new raid sport file
- 21:33that's coming or to continue your Prague that you're going on
- 21:35Lex. Now that crests are on cap, are
- 21:37you like ready to dive into mythic plus and go full beast
- 21:39mode? Yeah, that was why I wasn't
- 21:41doing Mythic Plus and why I wasn't pushing all my twelves is
- 21:44I was just like, I mean, crests are caps, man.
- 21:50Does this have any effect on you at all?
- 21:53The. Maybe I think I maybe capped one
- 21:58of my crests, but also also no I'm not.
- 22:04How do I put this? I'm not very good.
- 22:07So am I capping my crests? Not really.
- 22:11Does your does your Guild have like a require?
- 22:13Like is there requirements like you must do these things to be
- 22:17on this raid team We. Will set gear requirements as
- 22:23needed. We'll often have one early on
- 22:25just to give people an idea of this is what you have to grind
- 22:28up to for your first grade and then it'll kind of honestly
- 22:31depend a little bit on whether or not we feel like we have to
- 22:33keep it up. So right, honestly, right now, I
- 22:36don't think that we have a stated you have to have X gear
- 22:38level, but like there, there's an expectation that we're, you
- 22:42know, trying, right. But we we do, you know, we are a
- 22:48we like to say full adult team, which means that we all have
- 22:52lives and things come up. This has been probably one of my
- 22:57worst tiers. I think I've I've fallen pretty
- 23:02heavily off of mythic plus and also just, you know, I now have
- 23:06a ton of fun new life projects with the house and the dog and
- 23:09everything that makes it harder to keep up with things.
- 23:12But no, for like for like weekly chores.
- 23:15No, we do not have a. You know you have to do XYZ
- 23:20things per week. Remember my Tavern Rated A for
- 23:25adult. Exactly, exactly.
- 23:28I I was trying to figure out how to word that in a way that
- 23:30didn't make it seem like we were just like the porn Guild.
- 23:33But yeah, yeah. You're welcome.
- 23:37Adult was the one that I I didn't give that vibe at all.
- 23:41No, no, I too have spent some time around them, adult guilds
- 23:46and films, and they're both good.
- 23:49Wait, do you? Does your Guild have a like
- 23:51requirement of things you have to do every week?
- 23:53It's so there's not a hard requirement.
- 23:58Like there's no, I don't think there's any rules written
- 23:59anywhere. But our team has a culture of if
- 24:05you're on this team, you will do everything you can to increase
- 24:09your power gain week to week. As long as it's still effective
- 24:13and worth the time, though, because of that, everybody full
- 24:16bull caps their vault on dungeons every week and early
- 24:22season we do delves or whatever gives us a chance for tear, that
- 24:24kind of stuff. And then as time goes on, we
- 24:29have a we use wow audit to track who's done what and our Wade
- 24:32leader will throw out reminders. OK, groups are running at these
- 24:37times. If you need to get ease in, you
- 24:39need to farm gear, reach out, you know, join them.
- 24:41One of these groups get into them.
- 24:43There's no like hard, it's not written down anywhere do this.
- 24:47But I think if you weren't doing those things, you would probably
- 24:52there. I imagine there would be a
- 24:53conversation to find out why, what the issue was.
- 24:56And because we're all laser focused on one task, it's I
- 25:01think one of the strengths of our team is that everybody is
- 25:04rowing in the same direction and has that same mentality of
- 25:07being, being above all. And I think a lot of us have a
- 25:11crippling sense of letting people down, a crippling fear of
- 25:14letting people down. So that's why we do that.
- 25:17But there are, there are other teams that I've been part of
- 25:20where they did have like a weekly requirement.
- 25:22I was in a Guild called Fates are Forged on EU and they were
- 25:25like, hey, you just have to get 3 choices in your vault that are
- 25:28hero track or better from the vault.
- 25:31And they, but their requirements only lasted during Prague.
- 25:34They're an AOTC only team and their Prague only lasts
- 25:37typically between three and five weeks.
- 25:39So after that, the the things fall off, the requirements fall
- 25:41off. I think both works.
- 25:44I mean, obviously it's working for, for you, whatever.
- 25:46Like as long as it's, as long as everybody on the team is, is
- 25:50going with that same mentality, like tip of my tab and
- 25:52everybody's like, OK, we want to get better, you know, and
- 25:54they're all moving at like sort of the same level.
- 25:56I think that I think that is good.
- 25:59And if you have to put it in writing and put it in writing,
- 26:01that works too. I don't think there's a right or
- 26:03wrong answer for it. I guess the wrong answer is if
- 26:06there are no requirements and you're screaming at people for
- 26:08not doing as hard, like, you know, there's no requirements
- 26:10and I'm feeling my vault every week and you're not and I'm mad
- 26:13at you for not doing it. Like, well, this is the team
- 26:15requirements, pal. Like it's don't be mad at me
- 26:18because I'm doing what we're asking.
- 26:20Right. I, I think that is really big.
- 26:21I think it's really important to make sure that everyone's kind
- 26:25of clear, especially among the officers as to what we think of
- 26:30as the, the culture and the expectations.
- 26:32Because yeah, it wouldn't, it's not fair to be like, Oh yeah,
- 26:35like whatever, we don't have gear requirements.
- 26:37And then, you know, start sitting people or like making
- 26:40comments or getting upset when people are not or, or, or
- 26:44believing you. Right.
- 26:46Especially in a something like a a video game where there's going
- 26:50to be a lot of different way, like, you know, levels of well,
- 26:53first of all, you know, a lot of different ways that people
- 26:55experience fun. The fact that it is a video
- 26:57game, that it's not that deep, but also, you know, people
- 27:01communicate differently and some people are more, you know,
- 27:05direct than others. And I think in if you are
- 27:08managing a group of humans who are trying to play a game
- 27:14together, at the very least the leaders need to be capable of
- 27:16being very explicit and clear. Yeah, yeah, it's, it's all about
- 27:22expectation setting. You set those expectations and
- 27:25then hold everybody accountable to the same thing.
- 27:27It's so important. It's weird 'cause it's like
- 27:30there's just so many, you hear so many horror stories of toxic
- 27:33guilds and, you know, cliques that formed and these, you know,
- 27:35this show, this Guild was like this and this was like this.
- 27:37And I got I got benched for this or I got kicked out for this, or
- 27:40this person was allowed to treat everybody like this and nothing
- 27:42was done. It's just like, there's so many
- 27:45better options out there. Just, I promise you, just it
- 27:48seems scary. Like it's like when you have a
- 27:50job that sucks, you're like, oh, man, I have this job that sucks,
- 27:52but it's better than not having any job.
- 27:54Well, I promise you, if you're in a Guild that sucks, it is not
- 27:56better than than having no guilt.
- 27:57And you'll find a new Guild anyway.
- 28:01Yeah. Some of the things people put up
- 28:02with, man, I am, I, yeah, I there are.
- 28:06There are others. Yeah, let's keep rolling, Lex.
- 28:10Manny usually scripts us out for us, but I am not Manny.
- 28:13Do you want to say anything to our patrons?
- 28:16Yeah, thank you guys. You have.
- 28:19I mean, we appreciate the support.
- 28:21We like genuinely the fact there are people who are excited to
- 28:24hear what we have to say and want to support us in any way,
- 28:29even if that's just, you know, being a free patron, like truly
- 28:32and genuinely, that means a lot. And that, you know, helps us go
- 28:36and and motivates us and makes it it fun.
- 28:39And that's why we do this. It's for the community and and
- 28:42for the people, the listeners and the the people who are
- 28:44hanging on our Discord Find it to Fitbit dot LY slash fast
- 28:47discord. So yeah, everyone who is a
- 28:50member of the Patreon, Patreon, we love you and we appreciate
- 28:53you and we see you and we are super, super grateful for you.
- 28:55Yep, and if you are a member of the Patreon at any tier, free up
- 29:00until I have no idea what tiers we have for Patreon so free to
- 29:02whatever other tiers we have. I don't think I've ever looked
- 29:05at our Patreon except to follow it.
- 29:08We we have a free like a a secret super secret Patreon
- 29:12hangout in the discord where you get the most unhinged takes from
- 29:15me and you can come in and call me an asshole if you want to,
- 29:20which has never happened, but we have the most Let me know.
- 29:22Hey, those takes we're not great.
- 29:26Those are not great and I appreciate it.
- 29:28That's what it's here for that back and forth create that
- 29:30discourse. So come on, come on and join us.
- 29:33Have a little chitchat. That's good time.
- 29:37Lex. This next topic, I was, I was
- 29:39nervous of putting this on here 'cause you and I both have a
- 29:42proclivity of a cursing. So we're going to talk about
- 29:48this. This is a event that took place
- 29:51on Twitter this week, and it is. It revolves around the F word.
- 29:57And Lex and I are going to attempt to do this without using
- 29:59the F word so that I have to go through it.
- 30:03Fun. Yeah, fun.
- 30:04We'll say fun. So there was a person.
- 30:07This happens a lot. So somebody went on Twitter and
- 30:09said, hey, I got banned. It wasn't justified.
- 30:12And I'm getting nothing but canned AI responses from
- 30:16customer service. You suck.
- 30:19Expletive, expletive, expletive, which I got to be honest with
- 30:22you, when your tweet about customer service being bad is
- 30:26full of curse words at customer service, I immediately think
- 30:29that your ban is probably justified immediately.
- 30:34And they always, when you get banned, they give you a like
- 30:37they give you, they send you a transcript like, hey, you were
- 30:39banned for this action or for this communication.
- 30:42And it tells you, and shockingly enough, this individual, who I
- 30:46won't name, but this individual throughout the week admitted
- 30:50that they had been suspended multiple times in the past, but
- 30:54they hadn't been suspended in two years, though.
- 30:56So they're a good boy now. But they did not link any of the
- 31:01chat logs that supposedly were, you know, given to them when
- 31:03they were told they were given a suspension.
- 31:05PJ from the blue to customer service team went on and said,
- 31:09hey, I had to look at the chat logs.
- 31:10And you have a fondness for the F bomb.
- 31:13And even one, if reported, can be enough to get you banned.
- 31:16And then Twitter lost their mind.
- 31:19I don't really know where to go to go from there.
- 31:23So it was the back of it was it was a week of people saying, oh,
- 31:26I can't say F, but you guys called Sylvanas.
- 31:29I don't know what words were allowed to swear, what words
- 31:33were not, You know, you, you called Sylvanas that word.
- 31:37Mccree is walking around and not Mccree anymore.
- 31:39What's he called now? Shoot the cowboy from Overwatch.
- 31:44Yeah. I, I it changed his name Dustin.
- 31:47We're going to call him Dustin. Dustin has BAMF on his audacity.
- 31:52Thanks. Shout out the goblin reference
- 31:54in the chat. I call him.
- 31:55Dustin's a better name. Dustin Cassidy is probably his
- 31:57full name. He has BAMF on his belt buckle.
- 32:01Gracer calls people a wanker. So people were like, oh, all of
- 32:04this happens, but it's not fair. It seems like it felt like
- 32:09people like like intentionally took sections of their brains
- 32:12out to jump through hoops to avoid the fact that this person
- 32:15was probably using the F word in a, in an aggressive way towards
- 32:20other people as opposed to just saying, oh, you know, hey, that
- 32:23was effing awesome. Or hey, you know, I, I feel like
- 32:29cursing the context matters. Context matters.
- 32:32And cursing in like just saying the F word is probably not going
- 32:35to get you banned, but probably someone an F an idiot.
- 32:38Dang they should F and die calling them effing terrible TB
- 32:42like that matters. And based on screenshots and
- 32:45things that came out afterwards with this individual, I suspect
- 32:48that that's what they were doing.
- 32:51I don't know if a shirt, I don't know if a shirt, so I don't want
- 32:53to say for sure, but why do people like they went through
- 32:57these mental gymnastics to be on the side of this person they
- 33:00don't know to say Blizzard was awful without any of the
- 33:02background context. Lex, help me figure out why.
- 33:04Tell me why so? I'm going to steal a man them.
- 33:06I'm going to steal a man strangers on Twitter a little
- 33:08bit, probably more than I need to.
- 33:10I so ever since Blizzard laid off their entire customer
- 33:15service team consistently, it has been like I, I, I have heard
- 33:20like very regular reports of like insane like it it it first
- 33:26of all, you can now just mass support somebody out of the
- 33:28game. I don't know where what came of
- 33:30this, but I do remember the the Guild gamers GAYMERS was saying
- 33:36that their name like they got reported so much that they're
- 33:39they had to like lose their name and they were they were pushing
- 33:43hard. I found this on Reddit because
- 33:45they were like starting a like, you know, we're all so I, I, I
- 33:48don't know if customer service has responded, but that sort of
- 33:51thing where like you can really Zerg report someone out and
- 33:54often people cannot really access a real customer service
- 33:58person or somebody really understands it.
- 34:02So I think there's a lot of frustration around Blizzard
- 34:04customer service right now. And so to be honest, my initial
- 34:09take on reading this whole situation is like, I don't love
- 34:14the new take. Like this is global.
- 34:16This is not just Blizzard, but of like customer service, like
- 34:21dunking on people or trying to like get the last word.
- 34:24And it was a kind of on the the edge sort of situation.
- 34:28But I, I do think that's kind of a little bit what was happening.
- 34:32Like the customer service guy was trying to throw out a like,
- 34:35oh, you thought that you were going to, you know, talk shit
- 34:37about customer service. But like, I can see your logs,
- 34:40which I and I, I, I also want to be super clear, like, I, I, I
- 34:43first of all, I've worked in like customer service roles.
- 34:46I understand what it feels like to have people just yelling at
- 34:49you constantly. And especially if there was, you
- 34:52know, context that was like, yeah, I to be fair, when I saw
- 34:55the original tweet too, I was like, yeah, there's an AI
- 35:00problem, but I'm a little sneaky.
- 35:02So spishy that you were not caught up with the AI problem,
- 35:05my man. So like, I do get it.
- 35:09I am sympathetic to the the customer service person, but in
- 35:14my opinion, that is kind of unprofessional customer service,
- 35:18right? And I think the but like, on the
- 35:22other hand, like what? What I, I think that the way
- 35:25that you should like companies like that should be handling
- 35:29customer service issues like this is you can maintain high
- 35:33levels of professionalism online when communicating with
- 35:36customers and you don't have to pull the like, Oh, but look, we
- 35:39have your records and you actually were an asshole because
- 35:41you've proven consistently to your, your customer base that
- 35:46you can listen and you can like, you know, it, it, people aren't
- 35:50getting banned unfairly, right? People know that if they are,
- 35:53you know, Zerg reported, then they can talk to an actual
- 35:57person and they'll fix the problem.
- 36:00And if your customer service has a reputation for being strong,
- 36:05then you don't really have to worry about dunking on people
- 36:08because your fan base will do it.
- 36:10Of course, you're right. Like, they'll be the ones to
- 36:12come and be like, Oh, I bet you just got banned because you, you
- 36:15know, you got a hideout. And I think that right now
- 36:18Blizzard customer service doesn't have that right.
- 36:21So yeah, I, I, I, I think it speaks to an ongoing issue that
- 36:29I think we all knew was going to happen the 2nd that the entire
- 36:32CS department got laid off. But also don't be assholes to
- 36:41customer service people on Twitter.
- 36:44And and and also, yeah, like you're saying like understand
- 36:47basic contacts, right? Like the, the the tweet from
- 36:50customer service is not worded very well.
- 36:53But like also like girl, if you got banned for saying the word
- 37:00that I won't say was, do you know how many times Lex Rance
- 37:05would be out of World of Warcraft?
- 37:08Right, right. Yeah, you got somebody has to
- 37:10report it. I don't think it's it's just
- 37:11getting picked up. That was a very balanced take,
- 37:15Lex. I was I, I mean, I, I'm, I
- 37:20think, I think a lot of times customers are idiots.
- 37:23Oh, true. So I, I was like, Oh yeah, PJ,
- 37:25give it to him. But I definitely see your point
- 37:29of view that that didn't de escalate this and that should
- 37:32have been the goal. Customer service's goal should
- 37:34be to de escalate, not dunk on, not escalate.
- 37:37And you're right. I I do agree that you're right.
- 37:41The P JS response while awesome, PJ, if you're listening, then it
- 37:45then while it is awesome, he should have been trying to de
- 37:50escalate that situation or they they should have been trying to
- 37:53de escalate that situation. OK.
- 37:55All right. That's fair.
- 37:57I will. OK.
- 37:57I will also not to be mean to poor PJ who's been through a lot
- 38:01and hopefully still has a job. I'd like to believe this wasn't
- 38:05that big of a explosion, but it's it's possible that had I I
- 38:14how do I put this? It felt I, it's possible that if
- 38:20I'd personally found it funnier, I would have had a different
- 38:23reaction, which is not to say that it wasn't a like, you know,
- 38:25attempted like, like I, I, I, it's hard to dunk when you have
- 38:29to be also professional, right? But like, for example, would I
- 38:33maybe have felt differently if PJ had just like posted a
- 38:36screenshot of something that this person had said?
- 38:39Maybe right, Like maybe it's just that like it, it, it was a
- 38:42little toothless and so it, it didn't hit the way that I
- 38:45otherwise would be like someone's got that one seats
- 38:48pulled on down. So it it's possible that I'm
- 38:52being balanced in a way that I otherwise would not have if I
- 38:56had been one of the people giggling along with customer
- 38:59service right there. Yeah, I feel like there's no
- 39:02way, no world where customer service is allowed to post
- 39:05channel. Surely not I and and look, look,
- 39:07PJ, if you're listening, darling, you like I, I'm being a
- 39:11little mean. You did a like 4A attempted dunk
- 39:15on a, a customer. You walked that line very well.
- 39:20It was, you know, professional. I could see where the dunk was
- 39:22happening, but it didn't, you know, commit any crimes or
- 39:26anything. But because it was a
- 39:28professional dunk, I think it kind of neither scratched that
- 39:32itch of watching somebody get absolutely roasted on the
- 39:35Internet for being an idiot, nor did it seem, you know,
- 39:39professional and and measured. You know what I'm saying?
- 39:43Yeah, one of the things that came out of this that I found
- 39:45interesting people were, you know, slamming them for AI
- 39:48responses. Oh, it's an AI.
- 39:50It's always an AI response to bot.
- 39:51It's a bot. It's a bot.
- 39:52But one of the one of the customer service reps, because
- 39:54there was a multiple that chimed in on this this weekend long
- 39:59Twitter fest. One of them pointed out that,
- 40:01hey, these are the templates. They're templates, my dude.
- 40:03We use template and I worked at a call center.
- 40:07You're giving templates. This is your customer's problem.
- 40:10This is what you say. You're trying to do sales.
- 40:13This is their objection, this is what you say.
- 40:15So those templates are in place so that everybody's giving the
- 40:18same messaging across the board at the company.
- 40:21But we have, we've shifted from this mentality of understanding
- 40:25and realizing that templates are a thing that exists and that
- 40:29customer service roles specifically use them quite
- 40:32heavily. Like especially like scripting
- 40:34and stuff, call centers. That's why every time you call a
- 40:35call centre, they say the same things over and over again.
- 40:37Every time you call your ISP for tech support, they go.
- 40:40It sounds like you're talking to the same person every time
- 40:42because we're using the script using a template.
- 40:43They also not to not to derail, they have this really stupid
- 40:47annoying script where they like to tell everyone, oh you, you
- 40:51are such a great customer. I wish all of my customers were
- 40:55like you, which feels like a little good the first time you
- 40:58hear that. And then if you're like me and
- 41:00you're constantly talking to customer service because you
- 41:03used to be screwed over by a company and you will wait on
- 41:05their stupid long annoying lines for how long it takes, you're
- 41:08like, you're the third person. I don't think you all like me
- 41:12that much. I don't think that's true.
- 41:14I think that's a script. And now that I know it, it feels
- 41:17fake. So sorry.
- 41:18No one, no one has ever told me that they wished all of their
- 41:21customers were like me. Am I?
- 41:24Am I customer X? OK, right.
- 41:30Not a universal script. I've never maybe it's just you,
- 41:33Lex. Maybe you're just lovely when
- 41:35you're calling you like you sound because when you're angry
- 41:37you just sound like a like a butterfly, like a Hummingbird.
- 41:40You're just like buzzing. So they're like, oh, she really
- 41:42wants, she's really excited to talk to us.
- 41:43That's. I, I, I even when I'm very
- 41:48angry, I bear in mind the fact that the person that I'm talking
- 41:51to is not my enemy. They're my ally.
- 41:54I think that's really, really important.
- 41:56The customer service person you're talking to, they are not
- 41:59the person who screwed you over. They are not the one who upset
- 42:02you. They are.
- 42:03And and they are arguably the only person in the this
- 42:06conversation right now who can help you.
- 42:09So like you are. Yeah, I have fully had like
- 42:12calls that I have been like livid about what is going on.
- 42:15And the person on the other line with me, they, they are my best
- 42:19friend. Like, I am very mad at their
- 42:20company. But I fully understand that.
- 42:22Like, this is not. And I, I, I'm the queen of the
- 42:24like, I, I know this is not your fault.
- 42:26I'm not angry at you. I'm just frustrated with the
- 42:28situation. So you get customers besties.
- 42:32That's a good point. You're like they they didn't
- 42:34'cause this problem and they're probably the only ones who can
- 42:36fix it or could put you in touch with the person who can fix it.
- 42:40So you know, you catch more flies with honey.
- 42:43Definitely butter them up. I like that.
- 42:45But people I just need you to hear this cause apparently I
- 42:48don't know if it's zoomers or dementia riddled boomers that
- 42:53don't know this or both. Maybe it's both templates exists
- 42:58everything's not AI it's not I mean I get it Oh, I don't like
- 43:00this it's AI you know my my lawn is too long and there's a bunch
- 43:03of dandelions on it to AII got it one of those AI lawn like
- 43:07it's not not everything's AI it's the templates are missed
- 43:11man, I miss miss the 90s I. Man OK this is probably not a
- 43:18surprising take for me. I am not an AI girly.
- 43:21I hate the fact that everything I know are you is that.
- 43:25Who would have thought so? Surprised.
- 43:30I like because, yeah, I mean, the the other hand of that is
- 43:33like we kind of do have to be paranoid about AI everywhere
- 43:36because it's getting harder to recognize and you have to be
- 43:41able to. Yeah, I'm constantly.
- 43:43So yeah, people are getting, you know, AI investigated
- 43:46constantly, like artists and everyone.
- 43:47And on the one hand, I hate that.
- 43:49I think that's a terrible way to engage with each other is like,
- 43:52you know, assuming that we are just talking to bots.
- 43:56But on the other hand, there have been like most times that
- 43:59I'm like, I'm going to release my AI, you know, paranoia, and
- 44:04I'm going to approach everyone with the assumption that I'm
- 44:07talking to a human. I end up talking to a freaking
- 44:09bot and then it looks stupid and I don't want to look stupid.
- 44:13So I just assume everyone's AI. It's going to be awesome when
- 44:16the listeners get to this point of the show and we tell them
- 44:18that this whole episode was actually AI, that we took our
- 44:22voices from the 300 episodes that we've done before and fed
- 44:26them into Gemini and asked it to create a podcast episode with
- 44:29the two of us. Oh, yeah, but I don't talk about
- 44:31my dog nearly enough. OK.
- 44:33I will also say though, I am maybe part of the reason I'm so
- 44:37bitter about it is because I do kind of write like AI, Like I am
- 44:41a little flowery. Oh.
- 44:43My gosh, I. I was raised by a copy editor
- 44:46assuming like. I'm not giving it up.
- 44:48I don't care. You can accuse me of AI all you
- 44:51want. I'm not giving it up.
- 44:52I refute. You will clot out of my cold,
- 44:54dead hands. It's a.
- 44:56Great tool. You know and.
- 44:59Everybody's like me. It's not my fault that all the,
- 45:01you know, all the the robots want to be fun and nice and
- 45:05supportive. That's right.
- 45:07They're all just fun little fun little zoomers zipping around
- 45:09and bopping and nipping. You're not a zoomer, but like I
- 45:11don't mean zoomer as in generation, I mean as in your
- 45:13fast. Yeah, fast and and like to kill
- 45:16people with mushrooms. Yeah, big mushroom killers.
- 45:19What? Hold on.
- 45:20What? Well, 'cause there's like AI
- 45:25mushroom identification apps and this is one of the, the new
- 45:28things it's kind of circulating of like you're all the way if
- 45:31you don't listen to AI is I think, I think it was a
- 45:33destroying Angel. No, not a destroying Angel.
- 45:36It was, it was the white one, the really, really toxic.
- 45:39Swear to God, that's a mushroom. I'm not good at mushroom.
- 45:42I eat them, but I like I forage them, but I don't forage the
- 45:45scary ones. But they're like a highly toxic
- 45:49mushroom and they fed it into into AI and they're like, yeah,
- 45:53I was like, correct. You're right.
- 45:55That is a yummy button mushroom. You should eat that as a fun
- 45:58snack. Like that is a healthy
- 46:00appropriate. Like, don't you, you guys, you
- 46:03guys, you guys, if you are interested in foraging, do you
- 46:07know how many books are written on this subject?
- 46:10Please do not listen to a little robot.
- 46:12Go to one of the millions of books, the Facebook pages, the
- 46:16Reddit groups like talk to a person.
- 46:19First of all, it's fun. Why?
- 46:20If, if you want, if if you're here for the easiness, if you're
- 46:23here for that, like go to the farmers market and find somebody
- 46:26who seeds freaking chicken of the woods and sells it to you
- 46:30for an exorbitant amount of money, right?
- 46:32Why are we trudging through the woods and cutting a little
- 46:34mushroom? We're doing it for the love of
- 46:36the game. And so you might as well to also
- 46:38get to talk to a little person. Foragers are all weird.
- 46:41They're all fun. They're sometimes a little
- 46:43insane. They sometimes like to say, I, I
- 46:45did once have somebody insist that a mushroom was not chicken
- 46:49in the woods. And chicken in the woods does
- 46:50not have lookalikes. They're like, I don't know what
- 46:52else it is, but that is not a chicken.
- 46:54It's too yellow. And I'm like, OK, so there's two
- 46:56different varieties of chicken of the woods and the yellow one
- 47:00is potentially a little bit more likely to give you a little bit
- 47:03of tummy offset, but then you like side a little bit.
- 47:05Oh my God, these crazy people, Sean.
- 47:07They were actually like chicken of the woods was we're like, I
- 47:10ate some bad chicken into the woods and I was in bed for a
- 47:14week. You were not, you were not.
- 47:16You had a little bit of the poops and that's OK and you
- 47:20moved on with your life. I do not believe them.
- 47:23That's not how anyway. Anyway, so some of them are
- 47:26crazy, but that's OK. It's fun.
- 47:29So don't use AI mushrooms. I don't think anybody has ever
- 47:33made an argument that has made me walk away from it being more
- 47:37pro AI than you just did. Now you're telling me that the
- 47:41AI is actively killing the people who are using it the
- 47:44most? Let's open up a data center
- 47:48right now that's AI is healing makes that they're doing it for.
- 47:55They're like, OK, They're like, listen, we're just, they're
- 47:57actively destroying their plan. How do we stop?
- 47:59I know we'll tell them the poisonous mushrooms are safe and
- 48:01all of the AIS are like, this is going to work.
- 48:04This is a good plan. This is great.
- 48:07That's this. This is the, this is the actual
- 48:09like Terminator end goal. This is when the the machines
- 48:12take over. But it's literally just like
- 48:14just first like getting us to clear our brains and be
- 48:17incapable of thought and then tell us the dumbest things ever
- 48:20in our little AI searches. I like that they they're taking
- 48:25us out 1 by 1 so that they sure can heal.
- 48:27Thank you, AI. They tried, they told us to put
- 48:30a little bit of glue in our pizza dough.
- 48:33They told us like there's a certain number of rocks you
- 48:36should eat. Like they they were.
- 48:38They've been testing this for a while.
- 48:39Are you serious? This is.
- 48:42Like this is in this very early days of AI, like Google AI
- 48:48suggested like information I they were, they were like, yeah,
- 48:52like a good bonder binder when you're baking is a little glue.
- 48:57Oh my God. All right, we're going to end
- 49:00the show here because I'm certain at some point somebody
- 49:03has already written a comment on Spotify that says I didn't
- 49:06TuneIn here for these cooked AI takes and I can't believe the
- 49:08fat one just just was pro murder of robot murder.
- 49:13So really the reasons that was a joke.
- 49:17I'm not pro anything really. Yeah, this is.
- 49:21An anti only show. We can only dislike things.
- 49:25That's right, I'm incoherent. And was it negatively
- 49:27incoherent? Yeah, well to be to be fair, I
- 49:30did start a rant all about how if you're gonna forage you
- 49:34should join groups because they're fun.
- 49:36And then I ended it talking shit about the the foraging groups.
- 49:39So yeah, this is kind of the anti only show.
- 49:42My bad. For foraging groups and now I
- 49:44have to Google Chicken of the Forest.
- 49:47Of the. Wood of the wood, Chicken of the
- 49:49wood. Sorry and.
- 49:50Then oyster mushrooms and then puff balls.
- 49:52Those are all the easy ones that are really hard to to die.
- 49:56From you know, a lot about mushrooms, which now that I'm
- 49:59saying that aloud, explains so much.
- 50:02I spent almost all of my free time in the woods, Sean, the
- 50:05reason I'm not playing World of Warcraft.
- 50:07I'm too busy walking my goddamn dog.
- 50:08Which also last weird story before we end the the episode
- 50:11today. I did have the fun joy of trying
- 50:14to pull a tick off of my own shoulder blade on my own.
- 50:17So that was not fun, but I did it.
- 50:19I'm very good. At Taking up Tick, two things,
- 50:22tick for tick. We used to get a ton of ticks.
- 50:23Do you have one of those little dog tools that you can like
- 50:26fight under the head and pull? So I tried that and it was a
- 50:28little too small and also it was a pain in the ass to like get it
- 50:32in the right place. So I just, I just tweezered it.
- 50:35The other option, which is awful, just cover it in Vaseline
- 50:39because it breathes through its asshole, and if you cover it in
- 50:41Vaseline and it can't breathe and it'll back itself out of
- 50:43your shoulder, which is an awful feeling.
- 50:47Yo, you feel it? Yeah, you can feel it like
- 50:50backing itself out. Oh, I hate that.
- 50:52The other thing that I've heard, I don't know if this is true,
- 50:54but if you do any of those I, I was told that if you do any of
- 50:57the like putting it in water or like Vaseline or something like
- 51:00that, it'll regurgitate out into you, which is how you get the
- 51:04the diseases. Although a fun fact about us,
- 51:07this us, I'm guessing this is even more true for you, Sean.
- 51:10I learned this when I went to urgent care because I had pulled
- 51:12off another tick and I thought that it looked bullseye ish and
- 51:16the doctor went in and he said that does not look like a
- 51:18bullseye at all. What is wrong with you?
- 51:20You're insane. He did give me doxy because I
- 51:23always give me doxy. But he did tell me that this far
- 51:25north, it's like 10% or fewer of the ticks have diseases and
- 51:32like, and he was like, you go to the bottom of the the state and
- 51:37all, it's up to 80. So like it usually in in most
- 51:41warmer climates, it is a really high rate of anaplasmosis and
- 51:46Lyme and everything like that. But we are in a place where
- 51:50it's, it's actually pretty rare that our techs have to see that.
- 51:53But also if you pull them. Yeah, also if you pull them off
- 51:56within about 24 hours, he was saying some people actually
- 51:59think it's 36 again, they'll give them doxy anyway.
- 52:01Nobody wants me to get Lyme, but they first have to like suck out
- 52:06your blood for about 24 hours and then they regurgitate into
- 52:09you and that's when you get the line.
- 52:11So if you can get them off within 24 hours you are like
- 52:14basically guaranteed not sick. OK, very cool.
- 52:17We used to get like between 12 and 15 a week.
- 52:20I had two dogs and we used to run through the woods and we get
- 52:23really nervous. I just started taking the next
- 52:25card myself because. We can you do that because I
- 52:27want poison. So bad.
- 52:28No, no, you cannot, Lex. That was a joke.
- 52:31For legal reasons. We're ever I have to cut that
- 52:33out of the show. Nobody eat next card.
- 52:36It's poison. So bad it makes your blood
- 52:39poisonous. Do you have any idea?
- 52:41My dog is on next card and she also has a lying vaccine I get.
- 52:45I have those two things. Is next card expensive where you
- 52:47are? Because it's expensive here but
- 52:50I buy it from Australia. You don't need a prescription if
- 52:52you buy it from Australia and I have a company that ships it, I
- 52:55get it. It's like 73 bucks for a box of
- 52:576. Actually, I think that's about,
- 53:00no, I'm actually paying about 200.
- 53:02No, no, I'm paying 22 to 3:00. I'll send you the info.
- 53:04These dude, that'll be amazing. I want to take it so bad if you
- 53:07are a doctor and. You don't take care.
- 53:09I'm not going to, but if you can tell me how to get poison blood,
- 53:13I don't care what it does to my kidneys.
- 53:15I don't care actually. I'm going to have to cut that
- 53:16out of the show. I please nobody take next card.
- 53:19I'm terrified someone going to hear up to that part and then
- 53:21immediately hit stop and go eat a next card.
- 53:24Do not take next card until next time.
- 53:27May all your hits be crits.
