- 0:03Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to The Right Time, presented by PrizePix.
- 0:07Speaker 1: My name is Beaumont E.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Jones.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Thanks for listening wherever you get your podcasts. Thanks for
- 0:11Speaker 1: watching us on YouTube. Subscribe, like, rate us, review us,
- 0:15Speaker 1: give us five stars. You only give us four stars.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I'm inclined to believe you are a hater. We got
- 0:20Speaker 1: a lot coming everywhere, including a I want to steal
- 0:24Speaker 1: your money. It's trying to rob you. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 0:28Speaker 1: what I'm saying. But anyway, before we get to that,
- 0:31Speaker 1: shout out to you, Seattle Seahawks. You know what? I
- 0:36Speaker 1: don't know. I think the Seahawks are good. I don't
- 0:39Speaker 1: think the Seahawks have a very good quarterback. And Ryan,
- 0:43Speaker 1: I will just note, I felt like in that game,
- 0:45Speaker 1: we had some same Darnold moments. Like that interception he
- 0:47Speaker 1: threw at the end of the first half.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Yep.
- 0:50Speaker 1: That felt same Darnold to me. I don't know how
- 0:51Speaker 1: it felt to you. It felt same Darnold to me.
- 0:53Speaker 1: He also made some big throws and goddamn Jackson Smith
- 0:57Speaker 1: in Jigba. Helps.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Well, he's... I guess the most interesting archetype of receiver
- 1:02Speaker 1: for me are the ones that are obviously good and
- 1:05Speaker 1: obviously possess like some measure of athleticism. But when you ask,
- 1:10Speaker 1: so what makes them so good? They're good. Like Jerry Rice,
- 1:14Speaker 1: they had Jerry Rice, Antonio Brown, like Odell Beckham, class
- 1:17Speaker 1: of receivers. I think Chad Johnson even fits in that.
- 1:20Speaker 1: So what do they do? They do, they get open.
- 1:22Speaker 1: They get open here. They get open down there. They
- 1:24Speaker 1: just get open everywhere. If you throw the bitch at them,
- 1:25Speaker 1: they go catch it. Like, that's what it is. Justin
- 1:30Speaker 1: Jefferson is in a similar class, but he's a bigger dude. So,
- 1:34Speaker 1: you know, like it kind of fits. Like Jamar Chase,
- 1:35Speaker 1: you just physically look at him and you're like, oh, okay.
- 1:37Speaker 3: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how that works. But even, I think those
- 1:41Speaker 1: guys are even different than like Marvin Harrison, where it's just, whoa, whoa,
- 1:46Speaker 1: where'd that come from? Did you hear anything? whoo gracious
- 1:52Speaker 1: but it was this dude who wasn't very tall but
- 1:55Speaker 1: he was just super fast and like random like you
- 1:58Speaker 1: saw what happened like oh I know exactly he just
- 1:59Speaker 1: runs pinpoint precision routes these cats it's just a little
- 2:02Speaker 1: different they do all the stuff but anyway um there's
- 2:06Speaker 1: something interesting about like when the Super Bowl champ comes
- 2:08Speaker 1: back at any team like that and they've been struggling
- 2:10Speaker 1: like this was kind of sore to save the season
- 2:13Speaker 1: situation which feels a little, no, they would have been
- 2:16Speaker 1: down three, four, three and four. The 49ers did lose
- 2:20Speaker 1: because like, you got to have some of your good
- 2:23Speaker 1: players playing the game. Everybody just keeps getting hurt. But
- 2:29Speaker 1: they dialed it up and they reminded you, Hey, every
- 2:32Speaker 1: now and then, like we can decide that we're going
- 2:34Speaker 1: to do this. And they made sure that the thing
- 2:38Speaker 1: that couldn't happen, didn't happen, which was Kenneth Walker running
- 2:41Speaker 1: on them for 185 yards. That, that, That was the
- 2:45Speaker 1: thing that couldn't happen, which is interesting because Kenneth Walker
- 2:50Speaker 1: leaving has nothing to do with the actual players. It
- 2:53Speaker 1: barely has anything to do with the coaches. At the
- 2:56Speaker 1: same time, that could not, could not happen. They also
- 3:03Speaker 1: had Mahomes out there looking like one would fear that
- 3:06Speaker 1: Mahomes would have looked coming off of the tear. They
- 3:10Speaker 1: put up a performance, right? Do we think the Chiefs
- 3:15Speaker 1: are like a 14-3 good?
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:18Speaker 3: Not with those receivers.
- 3:20Speaker 1: And that's the thing. Tyquan Thornton, that's how our man
- 3:23Speaker 1: Deontay Lee was talking about this. Xavier Worthy ran that
- 3:26Speaker 1: 4.2 at the combine, and he's always going to have
- 3:29Speaker 1: that 4.2. that he ran at the combine. And he
- 3:32Speaker 1: was a very good college receiver, and we all know
- 3:35Speaker 1: that he is very fast. But Deontay's point was the
- 3:39Speaker 1: impact of his speed is not what the impact of
- 3:42Speaker 1: Tyquan Thornton's speed was before his ankle did the L, right?
- 3:48Speaker 1: He's just fast, right? Like, I think about that. Deshaun
- 3:53Speaker 1: Jackson is a receiver that, for me, he's not going
- 3:56Speaker 1: to go into the Hall of Fame, but I think
- 3:58Speaker 1: he was underrated in terms of the fact that he
- 4:00Speaker 1: was an honest-to-God, legitimate, number-one receiver that you needed two
- 4:03Speaker 1: people to cover the whole way. And there's something to
- 4:05Speaker 1: me to be said about the fact that if you've
- 4:07Speaker 1: got to be double-covered for 10 years, you know, like, hey,
- 4:11Speaker 1: we're talking about something here. But he was small, he
- 4:14Speaker 1: was fast, but he's an honest-to-God, number-one, like, he was
- 4:18Speaker 1: an honest-to-God, great receiver. And Xavier Worthy is just fast.
- 4:24Speaker 1: He's small and fast. That's all it is. And so now,
- 4:27Speaker 1: what are we going to see from this offense as
- 4:29Speaker 1: we go through the years? Is it going to start
- 4:30Speaker 1: looking like it had for these last couple years where
- 4:33Speaker 1: you try to ask old man Kelsey to kind of
- 4:35Speaker 1: bring it through, right? Like, is that what it's going
- 4:37Speaker 1: to be? I don't really know. But I think the
- 4:40Speaker 1: Seahawks probably look at this much more under the heading of, no,
- 4:44Speaker 1: we did that. They might still be good. They could be. Ryan, speaking,
- 4:52Speaker 1: still being good.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Where is it at?
- 4:54Speaker 1: We're showing this over. There we go.
- 4:57Speaker 5: See that?
- 4:59Speaker 1: See that? America's team, the Detroit Lions, came up with
- 5:01Speaker 1: a big win on this. Now, I think we need
- 5:03Speaker 1: to start by talking about the most important thing about
- 5:06Speaker 1: that game, which is for the second straight week, America's team,
- 5:10Speaker 1: the Detroit Lions, looked like they had an NFL defense. See,
- 5:16Speaker 1: that's what y'all need to understand is they're trying to
- 5:19Speaker 1: control your minds. They don't want you thinking about what's
- 5:22Speaker 1: important here. You know why they don't want you thinking
- 5:24Speaker 1: about what's important here? Because they're scared. They're scared of
- 5:27Speaker 1: what will happen if you think about what's important. And
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm just saying they came out of there, and I
- 5:32Speaker 1: know the Packers have difficulty blocking. I hear that. But
- 5:35Speaker 1: at the same time, the Lions had difficulty defensing. Just
- 5:39Speaker 1: the entire concept and idea. They was not good at
- 5:41Speaker 1: that for a very long time. They held Jordan Love
- 5:44Speaker 1: to six yards of passing attempt. They held the running game.
- 5:46Speaker 1: three yards of running attempt. They did not allow a
- 5:50Speaker 1: passing play over 30 yards, which is not something you
- 5:52Speaker 1: can promise to these dudes. They did not allow a
- 5:55Speaker 1: running play over 10 yards. Look, if the Lions are
- 5:59Speaker 1: going to play halfway credible defense, y'all need to be shook.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Another game, Jared Goff, no interception through two touchdowns. Jameer
- 6:09Speaker 1: Gibbs gets you 120. If they can play passable defense, oh,
- 6:12Speaker 1: and Brian Branch's back came with a big interception. If
- 6:17Speaker 1: they can just play a little bit of defense, y'all
- 6:21Speaker 1: need to be scared, right? But that ain't what y'all
- 6:24Speaker 1: want to talk about. Y'all want to glass half empty
- 6:29Speaker 1: the whole situation, right? And again, if I rooted for
- 6:32Speaker 1: one of your teams, that's exactly what I would do too.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Because otherwise you'd have to, can you imagine if a
- 6:38Speaker 1: lion was coming after you? Just think about that for
- 6:41Speaker 1: a second. You thought that lion had stumbled and was
- 6:44Speaker 1: just laying out on the ground, and you started running.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Then you're like, okay, I can catch my breath. I
- 6:49Speaker 1: was really scared. That lion, you know, was really aggressive, but,
- 6:52Speaker 1: you know, he couldn't stop anything. I thought we had
- 6:55Speaker 1: gotten away. And now that lion coming up behind you.
- 6:59Speaker 1: That lion coming down to Savannah. You hear that lion roar.
- 7:04Speaker 3: In general, there's a pack of them. That's right. It's
- 7:06Speaker 3: like the whole thing.
- 7:08Speaker 1: One pride. Hashtag one pride. But that's not what you want.
- 7:11Speaker 1: That's not what you want to talk about. And I
- 7:13Speaker 1: don't blame you. And it's not really the lion's fault.
- 7:17Speaker 1: And the reason I say it's not really the lion's fault,
- 7:22Speaker 1: because the lion be making haphazard decisions. I don't know
- 7:27Speaker 1: how to feel about this. Because, look, we've talked about
- 7:31Speaker 1: this already, right? I am a day one Detroit Lions
- 7:36Speaker 1: fan because the world didn't start until 2021. Really 2022.
- 7:41Speaker 1: I didn't think we need to get on that. But anyway,
- 7:44Speaker 1: the world, the Detroit Lions are an expansion franchise of
- 7:48Speaker 1: sorts that started when Dan Campbell got there. And the
- 7:52Speaker 1: reason to be here is because it's fun to root
- 7:55Speaker 1: for Dan Campbell team, right? Like, Part of what's cool
- 7:59Speaker 1: about having Campbell as the coach, and this is something
- 8:02Speaker 1: that I think is kind of dying across the board,
- 8:05Speaker 1: where I feel like we got kind of two archetypes
- 8:10Speaker 1: of the head coach at this point. I think this
- 8:12Speaker 1: probably really applies to most professional sports, but I'm thinking
- 8:16Speaker 1: really football and basketball right now. But there's two archetypes,
- 8:19Speaker 1: which is the CEO archetype. And I don't just mean
- 8:23Speaker 1: that simply because as a coach whose job it is
- 8:26Speaker 1: just to make sure all the trains come on time
- 8:28Speaker 1: and everything else right also mean that just kind of
- 8:30Speaker 1: in the image of what a coach is right like
- 8:33Speaker 1: Mike Krzyzewski and Pat Riley in the 1980s like ushered
- 8:37Speaker 1: in the idea that the coach is always like a
- 8:39Speaker 1: titan of industry right gets in the suit and go
- 8:41Speaker 1: talks to companies and you know things like that um
- 8:46Speaker 1: and then the other archetype is the the boy genius
- 8:50Speaker 1: like and some of them are not boys but like
- 8:52Speaker 1: the scheme guys right That's, that's what, you know, those
- 8:55Speaker 1: are the guys that you have. But to me, my
- 8:59Speaker 1: favorite archetype of coach, and in a lot of ways
- 9:01Speaker 1: might be the most effective is the, here's how we
- 9:06Speaker 1: going to do this coach, right? That there is an
- 9:10Speaker 1: attitude that that team is always going to have, right?
- 9:14Speaker 1: What you know, what that coach is going to bring,
- 9:16Speaker 1: no matter what is an ethos. That's the word I'm
- 9:20Speaker 1: looking for. And Dan Campbell is, at his most charming,
- 9:25Speaker 1: is an ethos guy.
- 9:27Speaker 5: Right?
- 9:27Speaker 1: Remember we had Dominique on and I said to Campbell
- 9:29Speaker 1: that one could argue disaster is introductory press conference. He
- 9:33Speaker 1: was like, it wasn't a disaster. Dan Campbell communicated exactly
- 9:36Speaker 1: what it was that he wanted you to know. That
- 9:39Speaker 1: we're going to bite your knees off. That's the kind
- 9:41Speaker 1: of team we're going to be. And you know what?
- 9:43Speaker 1: When your team is like that, you like it when
- 9:45Speaker 1: your team is like that. And that's what makes the
- 9:48Speaker 1: Dan Campbell thing go. However, That's not what Dan wants
- 9:56Speaker 1: to be. Dan doesn't want to be thought of as Ethan.
- 10:00Speaker 1: guy and don't get me wrong I think he sees
- 10:03Speaker 1: great value in being ethos guy but that's not how
- 10:07Speaker 1: he wants you to see him no he wants you
- 10:12Speaker 1: to think of him as scheme guy he wants you
- 10:17Speaker 1: to respect him for his mind. And I don't know
- 10:23Speaker 1: how many of you have ever dated somebody where you
- 10:26Speaker 1: did respect them for their mind, but that wasn't really
- 10:29Speaker 1: why you were there. The need to display that mind
- 10:35Speaker 1: to you after a while gets to be a little
- 10:38Speaker 1: bit annoying. It's like, hey, hey, if I thought you'd
- 10:43Speaker 1: I thought you were stupid.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I wouldn't be here.
- 10:45Speaker 1: You understand what I'm saying? Like, come on, come on.
- 10:46Speaker 1: You got to understand that I got you on a
- 10:48Speaker 1: basic level, like we there. You don't have to prove
- 10:52Speaker 1: anything to me, okay? You don't have to do that.
- 10:57Speaker 1: And Dan Campbell, stay trying to prove something doing big-brained things.
- 11:01Speaker 1: It's often like wild trick plays. And on this one, actually,
- 11:06Speaker 1: I probably need to reevaluate what I just said, because
- 11:09Speaker 1: I don't really know what's big brain about going forward
- 11:11Speaker 1: for fourth and one inside the 30. And my problem, honestly,
- 11:16Speaker 1: this is kind of the ironic part of it. My
- 11:19Speaker 1: biggest issue with them going forward on fourth and one
- 11:22Speaker 1: inside the 30 in the fourth quarter in a tie game,
- 11:26Speaker 1: it was tied, right? Okay. The play was so slow developing. Right.
- 11:32Speaker 1: I couldn't. Why would you do this like that if
- 11:37Speaker 1: that was the thing that you were going to do?
- 11:40Speaker 1: I was furious at my house just at the fact
- 11:44Speaker 1: that they tried to do it the way that they
- 11:48Speaker 1: tried to do it. And then if you didn't see
- 11:51Speaker 1: it after the game, they asked Campbell about it, and
- 11:54Speaker 1: his explanation was very simple. I thought we were going
- 11:58Speaker 1: to get it. I believed that we were going to
- 12:02Speaker 1: get it. And he didn't use the word but he
- 12:08Speaker 1: may as well have used the word because I heard
- 12:11Speaker 1: the word. And the word I heard is a word
- 12:15Speaker 1: that I personally never would have thought that I would
- 12:18Speaker 1: have heard come out of Dan Campbell's mouth. And even
- 12:21Speaker 1: though he didn't say the exact word, I heard the
- 12:24Speaker 1: word come out of his mouth. And you're asking yourself,
- 12:28Speaker 1: what word am I talking about? Dan Campbell had fourth
- 12:35Speaker 1: and one in the fourth quarter of an important division
- 12:40Speaker 1: game against a team with a very good quarterback in
- 12:46Speaker 1: your defense that appears to be playing a bit over
- 12:50Speaker 1: its head. And under those circumstances, Dan Campbell tried to
- 12:57Speaker 1: manifest a first down. Could you ever imagine Dan Campbell
- 13:03Speaker 1: using the word manifest in that context? I'm going to
- 13:07Speaker 1: manifest this. Can you imagine that? Can we also take
- 13:11Speaker 1: a brief moment to think about use of the word manifest?
- 13:15Speaker 1: And it only seems like in the history of forever,
- 13:17Speaker 1: there have been two types of people who use the
- 13:20Speaker 1: word manifest, which is white people justifying taking everybody else's
- 13:25Speaker 1: shit and black people who dislike white people for taking
- 13:30Speaker 1: everybody's shit. It's a word that only gets used by
- 13:34Speaker 1: completely opposing forces. And without saying a word, Dan Campbell
- 13:39Speaker 1: tried to manifest. Now, Dan Campbell is using manifest like
- 13:42Speaker 1: those black people, which for those of you white people
- 13:45Speaker 1: who don't know this, it's these people who think they
- 13:48Speaker 1: can just wish they way into stuff. I'm going to
- 13:51Speaker 1: manifest this. I'm going to say it and I'm going
- 13:53Speaker 1: to manifest this for myself. I'm here to tell you
- 13:55Speaker 1: right now, if you were that good at that, you
- 13:58Speaker 1: would have a better job than you do. Somebody would
- 14:01Speaker 1: have found a way to put that, get some money
- 14:03Speaker 1: off of that. And Dan Campbell tried to manifest a
- 14:07Speaker 1: first down and got lucky because the Packers, who have
- 14:11Speaker 1: a kicker whose name is Smack, that's his last name.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I've never heard that one before. I don't know what
- 14:17Speaker 1: the etymology is on that one, but he had a
- 14:20Speaker 1: horrendous game. He had a horrendous game. And I think
- 14:23Speaker 1: that last kick got blocked, but he had a horrendous game.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Anyway.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I'm just glad that the Lions won the game. But
- 14:30Speaker 1: I'll note, it's not great when you win a game
- 14:34Speaker 1: and the talk is still about what a crazy decision
- 14:37Speaker 1: that you made.
- 14:38Speaker 3: So you don't buy the argument that lots of people
- 14:41Speaker 3: are making that he actually made the right call because
- 14:43Speaker 3: he guaranteed... Almost guaranteed that he has a possession at
- 14:47Speaker 3: the end of the game and doesn't allow the Packers
- 14:49Speaker 3: to run out the clock.
- 14:51Speaker 1: But you only need the possession at the end of
- 14:53Speaker 1: the game if you don't score. I guess I kind
- 14:55Speaker 1: of see that. So the argument is... The argument operates
- 15:00Speaker 1: on the premise that my defense is so bad that
- 15:02Speaker 1: they are going to score, so let us go ahead
- 15:04Speaker 1: and let them score.
- 15:05Speaker 3: Score and run out the clock.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Right, right. But the irony of it is your defense
- 15:08Speaker 1: hasn't been playing that bad. They did not play that
- 15:11Speaker 1: badly in the course of this game. Um... I see
- 15:17Speaker 1: how you could come up with that as your plan.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I do. If Les Miles did that, you would not
- 15:26Speaker 1: be coming up with this positive spin on what happened.
- 15:30Speaker 1: That's all I'm saying. This is one of those decisions
- 15:33Speaker 1: that is heavily based simply on how you feel. I
- 15:37Speaker 1: remember when Barry Switzer did this once. Against the Eagles,
- 15:42Speaker 1: where he was wearing a cap that had a white
- 15:44Speaker 1: line down the middle. It was really weird. Bill Belichick
- 15:46Speaker 1: did this once on a Sunday night in Indianapolis.
- 15:49Speaker 3: It was like 2009.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Yeah, well, yeah, Rodney Harrison was in the booth. I
- 15:55Speaker 1: remember that. So it had to be around there because
- 15:56Speaker 1: he had just retired. I'm just saying, I'm hearing a
- 16:03Speaker 1: lot of I see what he was saying for people
- 16:05Speaker 1: who didn't want that team to win. It's real easy
- 16:08Speaker 1: to get theoretical about that shit when you ain't got
- 16:10Speaker 1: no skin in the game. You know what I'm saying?
- 16:15Speaker 1: I didn't feel like, well, at least we'll get one
- 16:18Speaker 1: more chance with the ball. That was my– I was
- 16:20Speaker 1: too stuck on, what the fuck was that? I never
- 16:24Speaker 1: got past that part. What the fuck was that? What
- 16:27Speaker 1: are you doing? And I found myself saying that a lot.
- 16:30Speaker 1: Let me tell you the other thing that makes me
- 16:32Speaker 1: really nervous with that team. How– Ryan, every time that
- 16:38Speaker 1: boy J-Mo scores a touchdown, I'm terrified of what he's
- 16:41Speaker 1: going to do. After he tried to hump the ground
- 16:46Speaker 1: in the playoffs.
- 16:46Speaker 3: You don't think all his good ones have been taken?
- 16:49Speaker 1: Man, look, after he tried to hump the ground in
- 16:51Speaker 1: the playoffs, any time he scores, I'm like, oh, God,
- 16:54Speaker 1: somebody keep an eye on him.
- 16:55Speaker 3: J-Mo doesn't seem like a guy with a third pitch.
- 16:58Speaker 1: No, no, no.
- 16:59Speaker 3: I feel like we've already seen his best idea.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I just need, I just know somebody, I just, is
- 17:05Speaker 1: it somebody's job? You know what I'm saying? That's all
- 17:07Speaker 1: I'm asking. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
- 17:13Speaker 1: You know, keeping all your brother, right? Somebody's job. The
- 17:17Speaker 1: last thing I want to get to while we're here
- 17:18Speaker 1: right now, and I think it's important for me to
- 17:20Speaker 1: get to it based on some of the things that
- 17:23Speaker 1: I've had to say previous. And I wasn't alone in
- 17:25Speaker 1: saying these things. You know what I mean? But I
- 17:28Speaker 1: understand that I need to be out here to say
- 17:30Speaker 1: it in particular. It was not the greatest opening slate
- 17:35Speaker 1: of games. And I started watching the Bengals and the Ravens.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I forgot Lamar wasn't playing, but I was watching, and
- 17:43Speaker 1: the Ravens were up. I was like, okay, and I
- 17:44Speaker 1: turned it away before the Ravens gave up 35 points
- 17:47Speaker 1: in the second half. What's the word? Unanswered. Unanswered, unadulterated, unabated,
- 17:54Speaker 1: just y'all can have it. Right, J.J. McCarthy looked good. Yes.
- 18:03Speaker 1: I will say it's interesting, though, that the all-encompassing QBR stat,
- 18:07Speaker 1: his was not bad at 58, but it felt like
- 18:09Speaker 1: he played better than a 58 game. He did not
- 18:13Speaker 1: throw any touchdown passes, and maybe that's it. And Scadaboo
- 18:17Speaker 1: apparently got the hint. And they brought him back out there.
- 18:20Speaker 1: He had, by far, his best game of the year.
- 18:23Speaker 1: But people are like, man, is it the fumbles? Is
- 18:25Speaker 1: that why Scadaboo didn't play in the other game? Maybe
- 18:27Speaker 1: it was that. Maybe it was the three-something yards to carry.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I don't know. But he came out there, and he
- 18:32Speaker 1: played well. But McCarthy looked good. The Texas defense continues
- 18:38Speaker 1: to not look good. They lost that game in overtime.
- 18:41Speaker 1: But let's see. Maybe the Giants got them one. That
- 18:48Speaker 1: would be an indictment of Kevin O'Connell. Yes. I don't
- 18:55Speaker 1: think there's any other way to look at it. That
- 18:57Speaker 1: is what that would be. Or also, who knows? Maybe
- 19:01Speaker 1: if this happens sometimes, and I'm sure this is what
- 19:03Speaker 1: Kevin O'Connell would say, if this continues, that boy needed
- 19:07Speaker 1: a wake-up call. What's his name? Brett Favre. When Jerry
- 19:11Speaker 1: Glanville traded him to Green Bay because he basically said,
- 19:14Speaker 1: I'm saving your life by doing this. If Brett Favre
- 19:17Speaker 1: had stayed with the Falcons, it wouldn't have looked like
- 19:18Speaker 1: it did when he got to Green Bay. It just
- 19:21Speaker 1: wouldn't have, in all likelihood. Maybe this is the way
- 19:26Speaker 1: that O'Connell... well, that's the story that he'll tell if
- 19:30Speaker 1: this keeps up. But shout out to my guy, Danny Parkins,
- 19:33Speaker 1: because that crazy Giants are going to win the East
- 19:37Speaker 1: thing at the beginning of the year looked dead in
- 19:39Speaker 1: the water after Dart got hurt. And even after the
- 19:43Speaker 1: jamis stretch and now with jj mccarthy ryan's is crazy
- 19:47Speaker 1: but it looks like a really solid call.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Yeah i mean it's a it's a bizarre like we
- 19:54Speaker 3: talked about how much of a genius big brain brent
- 19:56Speaker 3: is yes for winning three games of three different quarterbacks
- 19:59Speaker 3: john harbaugh's done that now.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Yes yes yes and and no quarterback that i felt
- 20:04Speaker 1: that good about yes personally um that's that's going and
- 20:08Speaker 1: by the way um I have to bring this up
- 20:11Speaker 1: before we go. 5-2 division leading Cleveland Browns, who are
- 20:19Speaker 1: tied in the standings with the 5-2 Pittsburgh Steelers, quarterbacked
- 20:26Speaker 1: by Aaron Rodgers, who, speaking of 5-2, is 52 years old.
- 20:33Speaker 1: He's not 52, but he's 52 years old. Also, hey, man,
- 20:36Speaker 1: I'll say this about Aaron Rodgers. You can't forget this.
- 20:38Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers ain't wrong all the time. And I don't
- 20:41Speaker 1: know if you saw what he said after the game
- 20:42Speaker 1: about how silly it is they play these international games
- 20:45Speaker 1: and everything. He was on fire with that one. I
- 20:50Speaker 1: had to say, I mean, I don't think he rooting
- 20:52Speaker 1: for the protesters necessarily, but he was on fire. I
- 20:55Speaker 1: didn't get to see any of the game, Ryan. Did
- 20:58Speaker 1: you get– were they talking about it?
- 21:00Speaker 3: Did they– It was– It was avoided. Let's put it
- 21:05Speaker 3: that way.
- 21:05Speaker 4: Gotcha.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. Yeah. I forgot. The Saints were in it.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Yes. Hey, man.
- 21:13Speaker 1: They tried. I need some stories. I guess people probably
- 21:17Speaker 1: stayed inside more because of the protests, but I need
- 21:21Speaker 1: some stories about how the locals felt about having New
- 21:26Speaker 1: Orleans in the house. And I need to know which
- 21:30Speaker 1: neighborhoods in New Orleans made this. I have lots of questions,
- 21:34Speaker 1: lots of them, but I don't have to ask the
- 21:37Speaker 1: most important one. Did the Saints win?
- 21:39Speaker 2: Because nope.
- 21:42Speaker 1: They was wearing paper bags in front. All right, Ryan,
- 21:50Speaker 1: early NBA. You and I were talking about this off mic.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Early NBA season is interesting. That's only been three games now.
- 21:57Speaker 1: But what your team is after about 15 games is
- 22:01Speaker 1: pretty strongly correlated to what your team is going to
- 22:04Speaker 1: be after 82 games. Now, again, we're only talking about
- 22:09Speaker 1: three right now. But I have to give Adam Silver
- 22:14Speaker 1: a little bit of credit. I have long been an
- 22:20Speaker 1: opponent of the drive for parody in the NBA. I
- 22:25Speaker 1: still prefer the idea of the juggernauts and the dynasty saga.
- 22:29Speaker 1: And I think that kind of works for me because
- 22:31Speaker 1: I like basketball enough that I don't need every basketball game.
- 22:35Speaker 1: I watched to have stakes, right? There's a good, a
- 22:38Speaker 1: good basketball team against teams playing hard. I'm kind of
- 22:41Speaker 1: there though. I guess also to be fair, Ryan, um,
- 22:45Speaker 1: The franchises don't see it that way. And so they
- 22:48Speaker 1: started treating those basketball games like they didn't matter. And
- 22:50Speaker 1: so getting teams to play hard and have good. It's
- 22:53Speaker 1: a lot going on. But anyway, we have a zillion
- 22:56Speaker 1: interesting NBA stories. I think that we could talk about.
- 23:02Speaker 1: But you don't really talk about the team, the things
- 23:06Speaker 1: that are going well that you didn't expect at this
- 23:08Speaker 1: time of year, except for one. Are you familiar or
- 23:12Speaker 1: are you up to date with who the leading scorer
- 23:14Speaker 1: in the NBA is right now?
- 23:16Speaker 3: I'm going to look this up.
- 23:19Speaker 1: You're never going to believe it when you see it.
- 23:23Speaker 3: No, I am not.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Tell the people who the leading scorer in the NBA
- 23:26Speaker 1: is right now.
- 23:28Speaker 3: Ty Jerome.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Ty Jerome is the leading. Tell the people how many
- 23:30Speaker 1: points a game Ty Jerome is scoring. 34.7. 34.7 points
- 23:34Speaker 1: a game. Now, you could be saying, hey, it's only
- 23:36Speaker 1: after three games. I want to say again that Ty
- 23:39Speaker 1: Jerome is averaging. 34.7 points a game. Now, it was
- 23:43Speaker 1: only at 15 games last year, but do you know
- 23:45Speaker 1: how many points a game he scored last year for
- 23:47Speaker 1: the now 3-0 Memphis Grizzlies? I do not. 19.7. Yeah!
- 23:56Speaker 1: This is one of the more interesting NBA developments that
- 24:00Speaker 1: we have here. Now, we got sad stuff. Jalen Williams
- 24:03Speaker 1: apparently had his ankle destroyed. I did not see the injury.
- 24:07Speaker 1: I had enough people discuss the injury to me in
- 24:09Speaker 1: terms that made it very, very clear to me that
- 24:11Speaker 1: I did not need to watch that injury. But out
- 24:14Speaker 1: for the year was the immediate conclusion that people had
- 24:19Speaker 1: on that one. That also doesn't give me any reason
- 24:22Speaker 1: to think the Thunder's not going to be good.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Right.
- 24:24Speaker 1: They have a zillion guys, and this kind of happened last.
- 24:27Speaker 3: He barely played last year, and they were pretty good.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Pretty close to winning a championship. And they get to
- 24:33Speaker 1: feel good because they already put the hurt on the Spurs. And, hey, man,
- 24:40Speaker 1: did Vic go hang out with them? Was it this
- 24:41Speaker 1: summer or the summer before that Victor went and hung
- 24:43Speaker 1: out with the Monks? It was the summer before, right?
- 24:45Speaker 3: Summer before.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah, go take his lanky ass over there and talk
- 24:47Speaker 1: to them again. And while he over there, Gilbert Arenas
- 24:51Speaker 1: did a good thing about this that I think a
- 24:52Speaker 1: lot of you have seen online. But can the Monks
- 24:55Speaker 1: tell my man to keep the ball high? Like, Ahmed
- 25:00Speaker 1: Thompson made that unreal play to block him at the
- 25:02Speaker 1: rim when they lost that game against the Rockets. But
- 25:04Speaker 1: that happens because he keeps bringing the ball low and
- 25:07Speaker 1: then going up. And I am frequently amazed at how
- 25:11Speaker 1: that's a thing for so many big men when your
- 25:14Speaker 1: advantage is being big. Like, if you are eight feet
- 25:18Speaker 1: tall and you keep the ball up here, nobody can
- 25:22Speaker 1: really do anything about that.
- 25:24Speaker 3: You're saying he needs to go hang out with taller Monks?
- 25:27Speaker 1: That might be a start. The desire to play a
- 25:31Speaker 1: Kevin Durant type of game is like part of it. Again,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I think it's because of the nature of the type
- 25:36Speaker 1: of body that he has. He's only going to get
- 25:38Speaker 1: to muscle people, but so much. But teams should not
- 25:43Speaker 1: be able to guard you with Ahmed Thompson. Maybe the
- 25:45Speaker 1: guy that he needs to go talk to actually is Dirk.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Because after the Warriors were able to guard dirt with
- 25:52Speaker 1: like Steven Jackson and Al Harrington and Matt Barnes and
- 25:56Speaker 1: all those guys who just got under him in that
- 25:58Speaker 1: series they lost in the first round in 2007, being
- 26:02Speaker 1: tall doesn't matter if you don't weaponize it. And you've
- 26:06Speaker 1: got to weaponize it, or at the very least, I
- 26:09Speaker 1: think he weaponizes it a decent bit. But what you
- 26:11Speaker 1: can't do is disarm yourself. And that seems to be happening.
- 26:15Speaker 1: And he's, you know, talking about he's thinking about too
- 26:17Speaker 1: much this, too much that, or whatever it is. I
- 26:18Speaker 1: don't know what the issue is. But they shouldn't be
- 26:22Speaker 1: one and two. And I believe that Mitch Johnson understands something.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Either they're going to get this going or you're going
- 26:27Speaker 1: to be looking for another job.
- 26:29Speaker 3: They already brought in his replacement. He's on the bench.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Who'd they got?
- 26:32Speaker 3: Billy Donovan.
- 26:34Speaker 1: Oh, they did do that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That was
- 26:39Speaker 1: not a show of support, buddy. Correct.
- 26:40Speaker 3: That was not a, let's just bring in somebody to help.
- 26:43Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. I recommend that
- 26:48Speaker 1: you get that thing going. Oh, shit, I almost forgot, man.
- 26:53Speaker 1: Did you see your boy Jalen Brown?
- 26:57Speaker 3: Oh, I saw it, yeah.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Okay, I saw a lot of people on the internet
- 27:00Speaker 1: calling this bars where they asked him, if it was
- 27:04Speaker 1: beef between him and Jason Tatum. Because Jason Tatum had
- 27:06Speaker 1: got out, you know, Jason Tatum was trying to be
- 27:08Speaker 1: the politician on whatever happened. And Jason Tatum was trying
- 27:11Speaker 1: to make the I didn't know they were going to
- 27:13Speaker 1: trade him thing. And whatever you say, dog. Like, no,
- 27:19Speaker 1: maybe you didn't know. Maybe your agent handled that and
- 27:21Speaker 1: didn't tell you. So you wouldn't know. I don't know
- 27:24Speaker 1: what it is. But I saw somebody else make this point.
- 27:26Speaker 1: I can't remember who it was. But if I didn't know,
- 27:28Speaker 1: I'd be furious.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Of course.
- 27:30Speaker 1: I wouldn't just be like, hey, whatever they do. No, man, if...
- 27:33Speaker 1: Either you wanted him to stay or you didn't. And
- 27:36Speaker 1: I don't think it doesn't sound like you did.
- 27:38Speaker 4: Right.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I didn't hear anything. I went and told Brad dot
- 27:40Speaker 1: dot dot. And that's fine. So I understand to a
- 27:44Speaker 1: degree why Jalen Brown has a problem with it. However,
- 27:46Speaker 1: going on Instagram and putting the blue cap in the
- 27:49Speaker 1: comments is a thing an unserious person does. So then
- 27:53Speaker 1: he gets into press availability and he's asked about it.
- 27:56Speaker 1: And he says, no, there's no beef. Some lamb chops.
- 28:00Speaker 1: With some gravy? What the fuck does that mean? Those
- 28:02Speaker 1: are bars. No, they weren't. You know, Jason's a good guy.
- 28:08Speaker 1: We want a lot. He's got a great PR team. Dog,
- 28:10Speaker 1: say it or don't. Like, I've said it to both
- 28:13Speaker 1: of y'all. This is the most passive-aggressive thing in the world. Like,
- 28:16Speaker 1: is this what it was like when y'all was on
- 28:17Speaker 1: the same team? Either y'all say it or y'all don't.
- 28:20Speaker 1: Y'all don't have to really rock with each other. That's fine.
- 28:24Speaker 1: And maybe Jason Tatum was willing to deal with Jalen
- 28:26Speaker 1: Brown for as long as whatever, and maybe he didn't
- 28:28Speaker 1: push for him to leave or whatever.
- 28:30Speaker 4: Fine.
- 28:31Speaker 5: You know.
- 28:32Speaker 1: But y'all ain't gang, and that's cool, and they're going
- 28:35Speaker 1: to have a game when they play against each other.
- 28:37Speaker 1: And I just want to know, who got the hard foul?
- 28:41Speaker 1: Can we get us some hard foul? Can we get
- 28:43Speaker 1: some ISO? Can we get something, right? Give us something.
- 28:46Speaker 1: But if all it's going to be is on either side,
- 28:49Speaker 1: y'all can keep it. I don't want that. Give me
- 28:51Speaker 1: something with a little more aggression to it.
- 28:53Speaker 3: I'm feeling very happy with my theory from the summer.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Which one was that?
- 28:58Speaker 3: Jalen Brown as Aaron Rodgers.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, no, no, no, no. Lo mismo. Lo mismo.
- 29:02Speaker 1: That is the– I think I saw something where– I
- 29:06Speaker 1: think it was Jamel who said this a lot. She
- 29:07Speaker 1: said something about how Aaron Rodgers is who y'all say
- 29:10Speaker 1: Jalen Brown is. I was like, oh, let's be clear.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Jalen Brown is who I say Jalen Brown is. Aaron
- 29:16Speaker 1: Rodgers is also. They are the same guy. That's there.
- 29:23Speaker 1: What do you think about the Heat being 0-3? And
- 29:25Speaker 1: not just 0-3, but 0-3 with a horrendous point differential.
- 29:29Speaker 1: The worst in the league.
- 29:30Speaker 4: In fact.
- 29:30Speaker 3: It is a bizarrely constructed team that's going to take
- 29:34Speaker 3: a long time to figure out. But still, early returns
- 29:37Speaker 3: are not great.
- 29:37Speaker 1: They're going to have to make some changes. Giannis is
- 29:39Speaker 1: over there looking slow. about it, and I think my
- 29:42Speaker 1: man Snoddy Trippin made this point online, and he's right.
- 29:44Speaker 1: We've got to remember, year 14 for Giannis, he's not
- 29:47Speaker 1: a great perimeter defender anymore. I think he's still a
- 29:51Speaker 1: very good player and a very good defender, but he's
- 29:53Speaker 1: not seven feet tall with all those miles. I He's
- 29:57Speaker 1: not doing it out there. Like, that's where I think
- 29:59Speaker 1: Bam is still going to give you that out there.
- 30:02Speaker 1: But he's not going to give you that. I don't
- 30:05Speaker 1: know what, like, I was optimistic about what this team
- 30:07Speaker 1: could be because I'm generally optimistic still about Giannis. But
- 30:10Speaker 1: the early returns, poor. That being said, they have an
- 30:14Speaker 1: argument that they could turn this up because it's all new, da-da-da,
- 30:18Speaker 1: all those things, right? So what you got on the
- 30:21Speaker 1: Knicks being 0-3? Is that just vibes?
- 30:26Speaker 3: Clearly the vibes uh with the team and uh with
- 30:29Speaker 3: the organization a little weird.
- 30:31Speaker 1: All right so the first two losses right close games
- 30:36Speaker 1: against good teams and Orlando is certainly not a bad
- 30:40Speaker 1: team but losing nine points at home to Orlando at
- 30:44Speaker 1: that point um something tells me that the Dolan of
- 30:50Speaker 1: it all it's really going to mess up their good thing.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Are you getting that feeling?
- 30:54Speaker 3: I was certainly getting that feeling going into the year
- 30:56Speaker 3: and in the story on Friday, the rounds.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Okay. So thoughts on this is for those of you
- 31:03Speaker 1: who did not see it, Joe Varner, the athletic wrote
- 31:06Speaker 1: a story about the Knicks and rings and like how
- 31:09Speaker 1: many people have not gotten their rings yet. They got
- 31:12Speaker 1: like the coaches got boxes that didn't have rings in them. Um,
- 31:17Speaker 1: and then, The people that work for the team don't
- 31:20Speaker 1: know if they're going to get rings. And, okay, now
- 31:25Speaker 1: I've heard of people doing this before. I want you
- 31:27Speaker 1: guys to know Jim Dolan did not invent what I'm
- 31:30Speaker 1: about to tell you. But Nick's employees received an email
- 31:35Speaker 1: that were like, yo, it's time for the rings, right?
- 31:37Speaker 1: You're going to get your rings. And so what you
- 31:39Speaker 1: need to do is click here and pick which style
- 31:43Speaker 1: ring you want and then send that in. and then
- 31:45Speaker 1: you'll get the ring, and then people did that, and
- 31:48Speaker 1: the people who did that, they were actually not selecting
- 31:51Speaker 1: their rings. It was a phishing scam and an experiment
- 31:54Speaker 1: in cybersecurity by MSG and all the people who filled
- 31:58Speaker 1: it out then had to go to a cybersecurity course.
- 32:01Speaker 1: And I want to be clear. I don't generally think
- 32:05Speaker 1: that the Knicks were wrong for that, right? Because if
- 32:08Speaker 1: you have to put in your password... That's a big tell.
- 32:11Speaker 1: I got to put in my password. I don't know
- 32:14Speaker 1: about that. That is, those people probably did need a lesson.
- 32:19Speaker 5: Okay.
- 32:20Speaker 1: The issue is none of us are certain that they're
- 32:24Speaker 1: actually going to get the rings.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Correct.
- 32:28Speaker 1: That's the reason I think that made people so mad
- 32:31Speaker 1: is the thought that it was like, I made you look,
- 32:33Speaker 1: no ring for you. And so now the Knicks have
- 32:36Speaker 1: put out this announcement that 257 rings have been purchased
- 32:40Speaker 1: for the people that work for the team. So this
- 32:43Speaker 1: is the guys on the team want their money. They're
- 32:46Speaker 1: not getting their money, okay? We got this thing with
- 32:49Speaker 1: the people with the rings, and it was going across
- 32:52Speaker 1: the board, basically, that the people who worked for the
- 32:54Speaker 1: team were not going to get their rings. Also, fascinating
- 32:59Speaker 1: detail to me, perhaps most interesting, and I didn't notice
- 33:01Speaker 1: as it happened. Every other year when they give the
- 33:03Speaker 1: rings out on opening night, who hands out the rings?
- 33:06Speaker 1: Adam Silver. Adam Silver was there. He did not hand
- 33:10Speaker 1: out the rings. And the best seats on the night
- 33:13Speaker 1: went to Roger Goodell. Dolan is being so Dolan with
- 33:20Speaker 1: all of this right now. Because you think Adam said
- 33:22Speaker 1: he didn't want to hand out the rings? No, that
- 33:25Speaker 1: sounds like Dolan said he didn't want him to hand
- 33:28Speaker 1: out the rings anymore. I just want to say this,
- 33:35Speaker 1: and I don't know anything, okay? All right, so what
- 33:38Speaker 1: if I told you that, and act like this isn't
- 33:41Speaker 1: the Knicks, all right? Act like it's just some people.
- 33:45Speaker 1: And somebody telling you, so we got this outside project,
- 33:51Speaker 1: and it went a billion dollars over budget. And it's
- 33:58Speaker 1: just now turning profitable, but barely. Okay? Then you win
- 34:05Speaker 1: a championship, and it's time for guys to get their money.
- 34:09Speaker 1: And you're adamant, we're not going over the second eight.
- 34:15Speaker 1: We're just not going to do it. Not for you,
- 34:16Speaker 1: Carl Anthony Town. We're just not going to do it.
- 34:18Speaker 1: We're not going to go over the second apron. And
- 34:22Speaker 1: then you heard a story that it's time for the rings,
- 34:27Speaker 1: and it is customary for teams to get rings to
- 34:30Speaker 1: employees of a certain level on the team. And the
- 34:35Speaker 1: dude is like, nah. That's what it sounded like was
- 34:40Speaker 1: the original plan.
- 34:41Speaker 3: Nah.
- 34:42Speaker 1: We're not going to do that. What that sound like
- 34:45Speaker 1: to you? Because to me, it sounds like somebody a
- 34:51Speaker 1: little light in the wallet. It sounds like somebody ain't
- 34:55Speaker 1: somebody ain't got it right now. I'm saying that's what
- 34:58Speaker 1: it sounds like. I don't know if this is actually true,
- 35:03Speaker 1: but Jim Dolan is acting like he's broke. And by
- 35:06Speaker 1: the way, Ryan, I will throw on top of that.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Broke people are typically quite irritable. They're never in a
- 35:14Speaker 1: good mood. And he's been irritable.
- 35:16Speaker 3: Yes.
- 35:17Speaker 1: He was only happy the night they won the championship.
- 35:19Speaker 1: He was irritable at the parade. He had been irritable
- 35:22Speaker 1: everywhere else.
- 35:23Speaker 2: Right?
- 35:24Speaker 3: It's the ultimate example that things don't change, you know,
- 35:28Speaker 3: accomplishments don't make you happy.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Yeah, but what if he ain't got it? Just throw
- 35:33Speaker 1: it out there. What if he just don't got it?
- 35:39Speaker 1: And I got to tell you, if you own the
- 35:43Speaker 1: things that Jim Dolan owns... And ever, you don't got it? Damn, dawg,
- 35:49Speaker 1: we need to give Leon Rose and Mike Brown and
- 35:51Speaker 1: everybody else all the credit in the world. Carrying Jim
- 35:54Speaker 1: Dolan to a title? Shit, that's a Herculean feat. PrizePix

- 38:32Speaker 4: Now, if you haven't heard.
- 38:35Speaker 3: All right, Bo, if you haven't heard, presented by PrizePacks,
- 38:38Speaker 3: it is 1045 Monday morning. We still don't know where
- 38:40Speaker 3: Game 6 of the WNBA Finals is going to take place.
- 38:44Speaker 3: They've been trying to figure out an alternative from the
- 38:46Speaker 3: WNBA arena. Bo, what was your reaction to the story?
- 38:49Speaker 1: Okay, so for people who don't know, the Dream, they
- 38:53Speaker 1: play most of their home games over by the airport.
- 38:56Speaker 1: There's an arena in College Park that seats 3,500 people,
- 39:00Speaker 1: and that's where they had been playing their games. They
- 39:04Speaker 1: did not make entreaties about moving... Basically, it sounds like
- 39:10Speaker 1: no one entertained the possibility that they could make it
- 39:12Speaker 1: to the WNBA final.
- 39:14Speaker 3: Correct.
- 39:14Speaker 1: Because they were, what, the four seed, I want to say?
- 39:17Speaker 1: They did not consider that this would happen. What it
- 39:19Speaker 1: reminded me of, I don't know how many people remember this,
- 39:22Speaker 1: what it reminded me of is... Cleveland hosted the Republican
- 39:27Speaker 1: National Convention in 2014. in 2016. And as I recall,
- 39:32Speaker 1: the plan was to have it in June, right? Because
- 39:37Speaker 1: that decision was made before they knew LeBron was coming back.
- 39:43Speaker 1: And they're like, if LeBron's not coming, shit, do you
- 39:45Speaker 1: really know be open? What's the big deal? And then
- 39:47Speaker 1: it was immediately a scramble. Like as soon as LeBron
- 39:50Speaker 1: signed in 2014 to go back, people were like, whoa,
- 39:52Speaker 1: wait a minute. We're going to need to figure out
- 39:54Speaker 1: something to do with this convention. But they just it
- 39:57Speaker 1: never dawned on them that the Cavs would still be
- 39:59Speaker 1: playing at that time. That was what that's. to me,
- 40:03Speaker 1: seems to be very simply what happened here. They also,
- 40:06Speaker 1: to me, it's a weird thing. Like the arena by
- 40:09Speaker 1: the airport has 3,500 seats. State Farm holds 17,000 people. Obviously,
- 40:17Speaker 1: they don't think they have a team that could consistently
- 40:19Speaker 1: draw 17,000 people. The circumstance under which they could draw
- 40:24Speaker 1: 17,000 people is when Kaitlyn Clark shows up and that's
- 40:29Speaker 1: where they go and they take the games over there.
- 40:33Speaker 1: I do not know this part, Ryan, which is like
- 40:35Speaker 1: what kind of attendance they had in the earlier rounds
- 40:38Speaker 1: of the playoffs because it wasn't like nobody was talking
- 40:40Speaker 1: about moving this over to State Farm for the first
- 40:42Speaker 1: round or anything like that. However, in this intervening time period.
- 40:48Speaker 1: Dream mania has swept over the city. I was with
- 40:51Speaker 1: my parents this weekend and my mama was like, hey,
- 40:54Speaker 1: I didn't know the game was starting this afternoon. Where's
- 40:55Speaker 1: the remote? Like it was we had me and my mama,
- 41:00Speaker 1: my daddy, friend of theirs or whatever. That was the
- 41:02Speaker 1: thing to do in that afternoon was to watch the
- 41:04Speaker 1: dream play. And that arena was rocking for game four.
- 41:06Speaker 1: And it looked crazy for game three. Like it became
- 41:10Speaker 1: the place to be. It's celebrities all around in all
- 41:14Speaker 1: of this. that arena has been open for 25 years.
- 41:17Speaker 1: The Hawks ain't never had that bitch cracking like that.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Not once.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Why?
- 41:21Speaker 1: Because the Hawks have never played for a championship. You
- 41:23Speaker 1: got to remember, this is kind of a championship star
- 41:26Speaker 1: of sort of city and the Braves won in 2021,
- 41:30Speaker 1: but the crowd at truest part is not the same
- 41:33Speaker 1: as the crowd at an Atlanta Dream Game. They're just
- 41:36Speaker 1: not the same set of people. So for those people
- 41:38Speaker 1: at the Dream Game, for a lot of them, it
- 41:40Speaker 1: ain't never quite been like this. And there's, it's, It's
- 41:45Speaker 1: for them, right? Like the vibes are there. It was going,
- 41:47Speaker 1: it was going. They had just never thought that it
- 41:50Speaker 1: was possible that this season would still be going. And
- 41:53Speaker 1: now it's become a culture war. You can argue it
- 41:56Speaker 1: was a war of bad planning, but I also assume
- 41:59Speaker 1: that it's not like the dream could be like, hey,
- 42:01Speaker 1: can y'all hold the building for us? And you ain't
- 42:03Speaker 1: got to pay no money for that, right? Like this
- 42:07Speaker 1: is where the team not being owned by the NBA team,
- 42:11Speaker 1: like they're being these separate ownership groups. That's where this
- 42:15Speaker 1: gets to be an interesting thing here. But now you
- 42:17Speaker 1: can't just be like, man, the Hawks just need to
- 42:19Speaker 1: give them the arena. What are you talking about? It's
- 42:22Speaker 1: not like, hey, man, you mind if we play in
- 42:24Speaker 1: your backyard right fast? Y'all ain't going to be doing nothing. No, no, actually,
- 42:28Speaker 1: there are things that are going to be done here.
- 42:31Speaker 1: They could change the schedule for the NBA, but it
- 42:33Speaker 1: winds up with the Hawks playing a back-to-back that hadn't
- 42:36Speaker 1: been playing and the team that they're supposed to play
- 42:39Speaker 1: if they move the game, them playing a back-to-back that
- 42:42Speaker 1: hadn't been playing. Keeping in mind, they're back-to-backs. are an
- 42:45Speaker 1: increased chance of injury. That's part of why people don't
- 42:47Speaker 1: want there to be back-to-backs anymore. Why? So that people
- 42:50Speaker 1: can feel good about the idea that the WNBA plays
- 42:54Speaker 1: in the arena. This isn't just simply so you can
- 42:56Speaker 1: serve more fans. This is an idea of legitimizing the
- 42:59Speaker 1: league by being in the larger arena. It's people that
- 43:02Speaker 1: want to feel like they're being treated the same as
- 43:05Speaker 1: an NBA team would be treated, though one could argue
- 43:08Speaker 1: the same treatment is in playing in your own arena. Now,
- 43:11Speaker 1: also that being said, clearly a lot more than 3,500
- 43:14Speaker 1: people want to go to this game.
- 43:16Speaker 3: They're going to have to find a new place to
- 43:17Speaker 3: play next year.
- 43:18Speaker 1: It would become almost ironic what the ticket prices will
- 43:22Speaker 1: wind up becoming because there are only 3,500 people there. No,
- 43:24Speaker 1: they're going to put it down next year to be like, hey,
- 43:26Speaker 1: just in case we're going to go. Now, if the
- 43:29Speaker 1: dream had been like a one seed or something like that,
- 43:32Speaker 1: or they had something, I bet there's a world in
- 43:34Speaker 1: which they make the plans to try to hold the arena.
- 43:37Speaker 1: They just didn't think they was going to be– they
- 43:38Speaker 1: didn't think they was going to still be playing. That's
- 43:40Speaker 1: all it is. I've just been amazed at how mad
- 43:43Speaker 1: and people are like, hey, man, why don't you just
- 43:44Speaker 1: give it up?
- 43:45Speaker 3: Like, it's not– It's not how it works.
- 43:47Speaker 1: This isn't– I can't even think of like– this is
- 43:50Speaker 1: like the auditorium at your high school.
- 43:54Speaker 6: No, man.
- 43:54Speaker 1: They got plans for what they're going to do there.
- 43:57Speaker 1: And I think it was Ramona Shelburne, right? She had
- 43:59Speaker 1: gotten the quote from somebody that was like, yeah, they
- 44:00Speaker 1: probably should have looked into this more than two weeks ago.
- 44:04Speaker 1: But the counterargument is kind of.
- 44:08Speaker 5: Right?
- 44:08Speaker 1: Like, more than two weeks ago, if they... What do
- 44:13Speaker 1: you have to do to be able to make this happen? Now,
- 44:15Speaker 1: I'm sure the Hawks and those people were willing to
- 44:18Speaker 1: try to accommodate them. I think it's good for business
- 44:20Speaker 1: for the Hawks to be able to do this. But
- 44:23Speaker 1: I don't know. I guess I don't see this as being...
- 44:26Speaker 1: about incompetence. I don't see this as being a negative.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I see this as only being a positive that there's
- 44:35Speaker 1: so much you went from being in a place where
- 44:38Speaker 1: this is the hope of the Caitlin Clark experiment for
- 44:41Speaker 1: the whole league, right? You go from a place where
- 44:44Speaker 1: you have this star that's bringing increased interest to your
- 44:47Speaker 1: league in this and with the dream of The Angel
- 44:50Speaker 1: Reese factor, and as it relates to Kaitlyn Clark, cannot
- 44:53Speaker 1: be divorced.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Correct.
- 44:54Speaker 4: Right?
- 44:55Speaker 1: Like, whether you like it or not, Angel Reese's success
- 44:58Speaker 1: as a basketball player stands on its own. Angel Reese's
- 45:02Speaker 1: talent stands on its own. None of that is validated
- 45:06Speaker 1: by any other person. Her fame is absolutely a function.
- 45:11Speaker 1: of where she stands in proximity to Caitlin Clark, right?
- 45:15Speaker 1: Her fame began, what was it, in 2022? Yes. With
- 45:18Speaker 1: the right here. Like that's when she, that's when the
- 45:22Speaker 1: fame began. And she is a star in that city.
- 45:28Speaker 1: And that is tied to all that. I say all
- 45:30Speaker 1: that to say this. You start in a place where
- 45:34Speaker 1: you need Caitlin Clark to help you sell 17,000 seats.
- 45:37Speaker 1: And then you reach a place where you can sell
- 45:39Speaker 1: 17,000 seats And she's been sitting her ass at home
- 45:42Speaker 1: for the last however many weeks. This is what you
- 45:45Speaker 1: hope for in all of this. You got it. Just
- 45:50Speaker 1: maybe a little bit sooner than you expected to have it.
- 45:53Speaker 1: And with the interest that's around that team, they're probably
- 45:55Speaker 1: going to be able to continue this. They're not going
- 45:56Speaker 1: to be playing in that little bitty arena for very long.
- 45:59Speaker 1: They are not. I mean, they may be at a
- 46:01Speaker 1: place where they wind up playing a state farm with
- 46:03Speaker 1: some seats covered up. Like, I don't think they can
- 46:05Speaker 1: sell 17,000 seats every night. And if they can, boy,
- 46:08Speaker 1: that'll be an embarrassment to the Hawks. But this is
- 46:13Speaker 1: what you wanted it to be. There's no reason to
- 46:15Speaker 1: tear anybody down in the course of this. What we
- 46:18Speaker 1: are seeing, in my opinion, is the sign of success,
- 46:21Speaker 1: not a sign of any failure whatsoever.
- 46:25Speaker 3: All right, moving on. Nicki Minaj made an appearance at
- 46:28Speaker 3: Trump's rally in Michigan over the weekend, making a viral
- 46:32Speaker 3: joke about her becoming the new White House press secretary. Beau,
- 46:35Speaker 3: what was your reaction to that? seeing this.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Now, Trump been talking about people's asses a lot. I
- 46:43Speaker 1: don't know if you've seen this. He said something about
- 46:45Speaker 1: Nicki Minaj's ass, and that's not even the wildest shit
- 46:48Speaker 1: he said about somebody's ass. He talked about that man
- 46:50Speaker 1: having an ass made of muscle. Husted? That what the
- 46:54Speaker 1: dude's name was? Can you imagine what it'd feel like
- 46:57Speaker 1: for Donald Trump to talk about your keister? Especially if
- 46:59Speaker 1: you him, because at least Nicki Minaj been like, that's
- 47:01Speaker 1: been part of the brand for a very long time.
- 47:03Speaker 1: This other man's like, did he just say something about
- 47:05Speaker 1: my ass?
- 47:06Speaker 3: You know. It reminds me a lot of his two
- 47:09Speaker 3: years ago when he was talking about Arnold Palmer.
- 47:11Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 47:11Speaker 3: Yes.
- 47:12Speaker 5: Yes.
- 47:13Speaker 4: Oh, yes, right.
- 47:14Speaker 1: He said Arnold Palmer, and for those of you who
- 47:15Speaker 1: don't know, he said that Arnold Palmer would be in
- 47:17Speaker 1: the dressing room and basically that all the dudes would
- 47:20Speaker 1: be looking at his junk and amazed by the power
- 47:23Speaker 1: and the glory and the majesty.
- 47:24Speaker 4: Yes.
- 47:25Speaker 3: Well, looking at his driver, if you will.
- 47:27Speaker 1: Yes, yes, yes, yes. That was that one wood. That's
- 47:30Speaker 1: what he was on, right?
- 47:33Speaker 6: I just want to know, and look, I'm just trying
- 47:35Speaker 6: to figure this out. What's Nicki Minaj doing for you?
- 47:39Speaker 6: I don't get that. In 2026, what is Nicki Minaj
- 47:47Speaker 6: doing for you? Who's helped by this, right?
- 47:51Speaker 3: Who's the swing voter who's swung by Nicki Minaj?
- 47:54Speaker 5: Right, right.
- 47:55Speaker 1: Well, I tell you this, at least they appeared to
- 47:57Speaker 1: learn something from the Kamala Harris campaign, which is don't
- 47:59Speaker 1: ask your rapper to twerk at your rally. People will
- 48:01Speaker 1: be laughing at you for that for a very, very,
- 48:04Speaker 1: very long time. I just can't imagine being a Trump
- 48:07Speaker 1: voter or even seeing Nicki Minaj and being like, oh,
- 48:11Speaker 1: that's all I needed. Speaking of which, Ryan, I forgot
- 48:13Speaker 1: to say, I saw Ennis Cantor at the airport on
- 48:17Speaker 1: my way out. We looked at each other very quickly,
- 48:21Speaker 1: and I just started shaking my head. And I could
- 48:24Speaker 1: be wrong. I could be projecting, but I feel like
- 48:27Speaker 1: I saw it in his face that he was like, ah, yeah.
- 48:30Speaker 1: I couldn't figure out what, you know. It felt like
- 48:34Speaker 1: he was arriving rather than departing. I mean, this is
- 48:36Speaker 1: even after game four. But, yeah, I saw him, and
- 48:39Speaker 1: I was just like, man, that's sad shit right there, boy. Sad,
- 48:43Speaker 1: sad shit. Some other dude, by the way, was wearing
- 48:45Speaker 1: a sweatshirt from a major agency. And the plane train
- 48:50Speaker 1: was not acting right, so there was a lot of
- 48:52Speaker 1: people walking. And so I walk, and I see the
- 48:53Speaker 1: dude with the shirt, and I kind of caught eyes
- 48:56Speaker 1: with him for a second. And if I see somebody
- 48:58Speaker 1: and I feel like they see me and they recognize me,
- 48:59Speaker 1: I give him a little head nod. And then I heard,
- 49:02Speaker 1: as he was going past me, under his breath, he
- 49:04Speaker 1: was like, I take Bomani. And I wanted to be like,
- 49:11Speaker 1: what did you say? What kind of slick shit is that?
- 49:17Speaker 1: It is canter. It is canter.
- 49:19Speaker 5: True.
- 49:19Speaker 4: True.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Is canter. Kicked it more gangster than this guy did.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Think about that.
- 49:26Speaker 3: All right. And finally, major U.S. banks are detecting unauthorized
- 49:31Speaker 3: third-party AI agents operating inside customer accounts with some agents
- 49:37Speaker 3: attempting to take actions that appear to be independent of
- 49:39Speaker 3: user instructions. Banks including Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, J.P. Morgan,
- 49:43Speaker 3: Wells Fargo, and others are racing to contain these aging risks.
- 49:47Speaker 3: Some are aware of unauthorized access. People familiar with the
- 49:51Speaker 3: issue said. Beau, your thoughts on this story.
- 49:54Speaker 1: All right, so I want to be very clear on
- 49:55Speaker 1: what you just said, which is that the AI agents
- 49:58Speaker 1: are taking people's money without the users asking them to.
- 50:04Speaker 4: Correct.
- 50:06Speaker 1: So what's it doing with my money? Seriously, like, what
- 50:12Speaker 1: is the, is it getting, was it Roblox? Is it like,
- 50:16Speaker 1: is it, what was the game Mike Tomlin? Yeah, yeah,
- 50:19Speaker 1: are they playing games with my money? Is my money
- 50:22Speaker 1: just disappearing? Like, everybody's money just going into a vast
- 50:26Speaker 1: AI pile that the AI can't even spend?
- 50:29Speaker 3: Do you think the AI needs... To buy AI tokens?
- 50:32Speaker 3: That's a great question.
- 50:34Speaker 1: What is the AI doing with my money? And bless
- 50:37Speaker 1: the hearts of everybody who works the phone at one
- 50:42Speaker 1: of those banks and has to take these phone calls.
- 50:46Speaker 1: Because I can't imagine. Like, I had a day one
- 50:49Speaker 1: time where I looked at my bank account and a
- 50:53Speaker 1: taxation service had housed my shit. Took it all. And
- 50:58Speaker 1: I'll never forget this as long as I live. I
- 51:00Speaker 1: called them up and was like, I really don't understand
- 51:02Speaker 1: what's going on here because I know I paid you
- 51:03Speaker 1: guys their money. Ryan, they put my shit in the
- 51:06Speaker 1: wrong column.
- 51:07Speaker 5: Oh, man.
- 51:08Speaker 1: It was a Friday afternoon at like 2 o'clock, and
- 51:11Speaker 1: they've taken all my money. And all I got was
- 51:14Speaker 1: my bad. That's all they had for me was my
- 51:17Speaker 1: bad after taking all my money. But at least they
- 51:21Speaker 1: could explain to me what happened. I called the bank.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Bank was like, call the state. Called the state. State
- 51:27Speaker 1: was like, my bad. Okay, so you imagine you call
- 51:33Speaker 1: the bank, or, or, or, just throw it out there,
- 51:36Speaker 1: your mom or your grandparent call the bank. How come
- 51:42Speaker 1: my card ain't working? And the bank says, AI, excuse me,
- 51:49Speaker 1: it's AI. I don't understand what you mean. Yeah, well,
- 51:53Speaker 1: it looks like some AI took your money. What do
- 51:57Speaker 1: you mean some AI took my money? It looks like AI.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Who the fuck is AI? Well, an AI agent. What
- 52:09Speaker 1: is an AI agent? You're going to have to talk
- 52:13Speaker 1: to the AI about this. What do you mean I
- 52:14Speaker 1: got to talk to the AI? Did you talk to
- 52:16Speaker 1: the AI? No, actually, nobody talked to the AI. The
- 52:19Speaker 1: AI did it without anybody telling it. So I was
- 52:21Speaker 1: supposed to talk to something that don't talk to nobody else,
- 52:23Speaker 1: and then I'm going to get my money back. I
- 52:25Speaker 1: don't really know about whether you're going to get your
- 52:28Speaker 1: money back or not. I just don't know why you're
- 52:32Speaker 1: talking to me about it. Because you work at the bank!
- 52:36Speaker 1: That's that conversation with me. Let alone with somebody with
- 52:44Speaker 1: not nearly the acumen that your boy possesses. I don't know.
- 52:52Speaker 1: Without Anybody telling you to do it. So what the
- 52:55Speaker 1: bank going to do to fix it?
- 52:57Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 52:57Speaker 3: So like what kind of, is that FDIC insured or?
- 53:00Speaker 1: Yeah. What y'all going to do? What y'all going to do?
- 53:04Speaker 1: And also this AI did it independently. Who cooked up
- 53:06Speaker 1: the AI that did it? Cause I'm going to be
- 53:08Speaker 1: honest with you right now. If somebody robs a bank,
- 53:17Speaker 1: they go to jail for that. Okay. If somebody robbed
- 53:20Speaker 1: a bank, And then they got to court and the
- 53:23Speaker 1: answer was, I didn't mean to do that. You're still
- 53:27Speaker 1: gonna go to jail. If you made the AI that
- 53:31Speaker 1: accidentally took my money, send that motherfucker to jail. That's
- 53:35Speaker 1: how we're going to slow this down. Maybe it's a
- 53:37Speaker 1: little too late, right? Because if anyone builds it, everyone dies.
- 53:41Speaker 3: All right.
- 53:42Speaker 1: It might be too late. But in the meantime, how
- 53:44Speaker 1: about we start throwing some dweebs in jail? And I
- 53:47Speaker 1: bet they won't be doing all that coding. Now, will they?
- 53:51Speaker 1: It's what I thought. Find a dork. Lock him up.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Send a message.
- 54:01Speaker 3: All right, Bo, a lot of good voicemails. Here's our first.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Hey, what's up, Bo? This is Steven from Dallas. As
- 54:07Speaker 2: you know, this past Saturday, Ole Miss and Texas squared off.
- 54:11Speaker 2: And as you all know, this is a lot of
- 54:13Speaker 2: talk about Arch Manning. Now, I think you will understand
- 54:17Speaker 2: where I'm going with this, but it seems to me
- 54:21Speaker 2: that Art needs to start calling a couple plays for
- 54:24Speaker 2: Arch in the mold of Armani Manning. instead of Archibald Manning,
- 54:30Speaker 2: because he is the son of the athletic receiver, if
- 54:33Speaker 2: I'm not mistaken. And just like Josh Allen started getting
- 54:38Speaker 2: some of the Jaheim plays, and it helped his growth
- 54:41Speaker 2: development and growth curve, I think Arch started getting some
- 54:44Speaker 2: of the Armani Manning plays instead of Archibald Manning plays,
- 54:47Speaker 2: because Archibald sounds like he works for the Pirates Investment Bank. So, yeah, sorry.
- 54:55Speaker 2: If you're listening, it's the right time with Armani Jones.
- 54:58Speaker 2: The irony of it is, no.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Archibald Manning plays are exactly what you need to call.
- 55:13Speaker 1: Because if you've ever seen Archie Manning play football, look
- 55:16Speaker 1: up Archie Manning on YouTube. The granddad. Go look him up.
- 55:20Speaker 1: That's exactly it. It was running Armani plays for him. So, no,
- 55:25Speaker 1: what they need to do is dial up a little.
- 55:28Speaker 1: They also need a new coach. That's part of it.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Let me tell you something else they need to do
- 55:30Speaker 1: for what I was watching in that game against Ole
- 55:32Speaker 1: Miss where Archie Manning. It's interesting. I didn't think about that.
- 55:35Speaker 1: It was the Archie connection.
- 55:36Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Them boys was dropping passes, man. Arch was being done
- 55:43Speaker 1: no favors in the course of that game. I'm also
- 55:47Speaker 1: throwing this out here. I watched some of that mess
- 55:49Speaker 1: to make her cat for the first time. That's the
- 55:52Speaker 1: number one pick in the draft. Or at the very least,
- 55:54Speaker 1: that's the first quarterback that's going to go off the board.
- 55:57Speaker 1: You heard it here first.
- 56:00Speaker 3: All right, here's our next one.
- 56:04Speaker 5: Hey, Beaumonti. This is Matt, Northern Kentucky, right outside Cincinnati. Listen,
- 56:12Speaker 5: I was calling on Friday the 23rd in regards to
- 56:16Speaker 5: today's wordle. Yeah, man, the word was trill. I didn't
- 56:22Speaker 5: know that they let Bon B pick the word for
- 56:25Speaker 5: the puzzle today, and I actually didn't know it was
- 56:28Speaker 5: a real word either. So I looked up the meaning, um,
- 56:33Speaker 5: And from Google, it says that in music, it's a
- 56:37Speaker 5: rapid alteration between two adjacent musical notes. Synonyms are shake, warble,
- 56:44Speaker 5: and quiver. In slang, this is AI's Gemini. It says
- 56:52Speaker 5: that the definition of trill is a blend of true
- 56:56Speaker 5: and real. So my question for you, Bomani, is is
- 57:01Speaker 5: the term trill in hip-hop meant to be a double
- 57:04Speaker 5: entendre of the bass shaking and the music having a
- 57:11Speaker 5: big bass, loud bass, mixed with the true and real meaning,
- 57:15Speaker 5: or is it just meant to be like this is
- 57:19Speaker 5: true and real music? I'm not really sure. I didn't
- 57:22Speaker 5: even know it was a real word today. Any input
- 57:24Speaker 5: you got on that would be cool to learn about, man.
- 57:27Speaker 5: Thanks for the great show.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Talk to you. All right.
- 57:31Speaker 1: So, I mean, Trill, that's largely a UGK-ism, right? Like,
- 57:36Speaker 1: that's where this comes from. Shout out to Bun B,
- 57:38Speaker 1: the Trill OG. I was very tempted to call him
- 57:40Speaker 1: and get him on speaker to have him explain exactly
- 57:43Speaker 1: what it is. Bun B also, by the way, in
- 57:45Speaker 1: the middle of the afternoon on Friday, put this up
- 57:48Speaker 1: on his Instagram to say that Trill was the wordle,
- 57:51Speaker 1: and I realized, well, I left a comment that I
- 57:54Speaker 1: realized may have seemed a little backhanded, but It was
- 57:57Speaker 1: not intended to be because I had already done the Wordle,
- 57:58Speaker 1: but it was. A whole lot of people are going
- 58:00Speaker 1: to get their first one-in-one after this. I can't tell
- 58:03Speaker 1: in the middle of the day. You got to wait
- 58:05Speaker 1: until tomorrow. You got to wait.
- 58:06Speaker 3: He's too excited. He's having too much fun.
- 58:08Speaker 1: Yeah, because there will be a lot of people out
- 58:09Speaker 1: here lying about getting to day one. You know what
- 58:12Speaker 1: I'm saying? But, yeah, no, that's a Pepsi Bun B-ism,
- 58:16Speaker 1: and it's true and real. It's something true. It's true
- 58:19Speaker 1: and it's real.
- 58:20Speaker 4: It's true.
- 58:21Speaker 1: Go to Trill Burgers when you're in Houston. They're very,
- 58:23Speaker 1: very tasty.
- 58:25Speaker 5: All right.
- 58:25Speaker 3: Here's our last one.
- 58:28Speaker 4: Hi, I'm Bomani. This is Greg from California. I am
- 58:31Speaker 4: calling in because I have a mother-in-law who is Caucasian,
- 58:37Speaker 4: but her name does not appear so. Her first name
- 58:41Speaker 4: is Letitia. At one point, her last name was Robinson.
- 58:46Speaker 4: She got married. Her last name became Pinkston. She is
- 58:50Speaker 4: a grandmother. Now, mind you, I am Chinese. So her child,
- 58:55Speaker 4: her grandchild is half-white, half-Chinese. But anyways, her chosen nickname
- 59:01Speaker 4: for her grandmotherhood is Cookie. I will let you enjoy
- 59:06Speaker 4: the laughter. enjoy your show I've been watching you for
- 59:13Speaker 4: a long time listening to you for a long time
- 59:17Speaker 4: I love what you have to say anyways take care thank.
- 59:19Speaker 1: You Letitia Robinson eh why do they never call me
- 59:27Speaker 1: back For these job interviews. I just don't understand. What
- 59:34Speaker 1: is it? And I don't know how Letitia Robinson grew up,
- 59:36Speaker 1: but how long was it before she realized what the
- 59:38Speaker 1: thing was?
- 59:41Speaker 3: Where in California did she grow up? Or she did?
- 59:45Speaker 1: I think I told you, one of my favorite moments ever,
- 59:47Speaker 1: and me and my man ain't never talked about this
- 59:49Speaker 1: because he ain't want to bring it up, but I
- 59:51Speaker 1: was out at a concert once, and my man, I
- 59:54Speaker 1: was catching up with him, and so I called him,
- 59:56Speaker 1: and he was with this white woman And he introduced
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: her to me. And I noticed when he introduced her
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: to me, us to each other, he didn't say her name.
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: And he goes, hey, this is Bomani. And she goes, hi,
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: I'm Keisha. And I said, excuse me, what did you say?
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: And she says, Keisha. I was like, oh, nice to
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: meet you. Like, I was real proud of myself that I, like,
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: brought it back in line when I did.
- 1:00:18Speaker 5: But.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: Hey, man, you could have gave me a heads up
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: on that one. We ain't never talking about that again, man.
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: That shit was like 10 years ago. <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL>
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: You brought White Keisha in front of me. Like, we
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: not going to laugh at this? I thought we was
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: better than that. But hey, man, ladies and gentlemen, thanks
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: so much for joining us here on The Right Time.
