- 0:00Speaker 1: Good afternoon, and welcome to the program here on Sports
- 0:02Speaker 1: Radio AM thirteen under the Zone. My name is Craig Way.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Glad to have you with us here on the day
- 0:06Speaker 1: before Thanksgiving. Yes, we're working today. We are, and then
- 0:11Speaker 1: off tomorrow and Friday, although off as a relative term
- 0:14Speaker 1: Friday with long word basketball, and then of course overdue
- 0:17Speaker 1: College station on Saturday for the restoration of the Loan
- 0:20Speaker 1: Star Showdown rivalry between Texas and Texas A and M.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We have plenty of time to get to that, and
- 0:26Speaker 1: we will this afternoon on the program. We of course
- 0:29Speaker 1: includes the producer of the program, Cameron de Parker. The
- 0:32Speaker 1: D on the birth certificate stands for Dallas, as in
- 0:35Speaker 1: his favorite pro football team, who will play? Who will
- 0:39Speaker 1: play Tomorrow, as they have done every Thanksgiving since nineteen
- 0:43Speaker 1: sixty six, with the exception of two years seventy five
- 0:46Speaker 1: and seventy seven, they had.
- 0:47Speaker 2: The Cardinals on. For some reason.
- 0:49Speaker 1: The Cardinals were pretty good when they were in Saint
- 0:51Speaker 1: Louis for a little stretch there in the mid seventies,
- 0:55Speaker 1: and so they had them instead of the Cowboys in
- 0:57Speaker 1: seventy five and seventy seven. Then, realizing the error of
- 1:00Speaker 1: their ways, because those were two years when the Cowboys
- 1:02Speaker 1: win the Super Bowl. Seventy five is a wildcard team,
- 1:05Speaker 1: and then seventy seven when they won the Super Bowl.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Super Bowl twelve, they didn't restored the Cowboys to that
- 1:13Speaker 1: late afternoon Thanksgiving contest, and they've been going ever since,
- 1:20Speaker 1: for good or for bad. Cameron Parker, who, by the way,
- 1:24Speaker 1: is pledged even though we watched some of the Cowboys
- 1:27Speaker 1: win that crazy went over the Commander's last Sunday, breaking
- 1:31Speaker 1: his vowl not to watch them. He did watch them.
- 1:33Speaker 1: But you're you're back on the wagon. You're saying you're
- 1:35Speaker 1: not going to watch them tomorrow afternoon. You've got a
- 1:37Speaker 1: captive audience when they're playing. Captive audience? Yeah, what other
- 1:41Speaker 1: football game will be going on tomorrow?
- 1:43Speaker 3: Go for a walk, people, if you want to watch
- 1:46Speaker 3: Drew Lock. It's Drew Lock. It's a third string quarterback
- 1:49Speaker 3: for the New York Giants playing against the second string
- 1:51Speaker 3: quarterback for the Donas Cowboys. There's no reason anyone to
- 1:54Speaker 3: be watching this game. There's no reason I would even
- 1:58Speaker 3: call it a game.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Hey, by the way, it was it was told to
- 2:00Speaker 1: me at dinner last night by my oldest son.
- 2:05Speaker 2: He has dropped the Cowboys. Now they're no longer his favorite.
- 2:08Speaker 2: That about eight months ago.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah, well you still have them? Is your favorite? You
- 2:13Speaker 1: do you list them as your favorite?
- 2:15Speaker 2: A lot of work there in that sentence.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Okay, he was when he was a little kiddy, liked
- 2:19Speaker 1: the Jaguars, but he changed to the Cowboys, I think
- 2:21Speaker 1: he said thirteen years ago. Now he's done with him.
- 2:23Speaker 1: So he and his girlfriend are going to find a
- 2:25Speaker 1: team to root for. And he said it can't be
- 2:28Speaker 1: any team that any other family member in our family
- 2:31Speaker 1: could root for. So that removes ms. No Rams, no Packers. Jason,
- 2:36Speaker 1: the youngest one, that's his favorite team pack although his
- 2:39Speaker 1: girlfriend's from Wisconsin was a Packer fan. In fact, they
- 2:41Speaker 1: went to the Packers' Lions game at Lambeau a few
- 2:43Speaker 1: weeks ago. But it's not going to be that. He said,
- 2:46Speaker 1: they'll figure out a team to cheer for. So at
- 2:49Speaker 1: some point that's happened. No one in your family was
- 2:51Speaker 1: a Panther fan. That's kind of great. Well, we were
- 2:53Speaker 1: all out here by the time the Panthers came into existence.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Now I have a younger brother who is retired military
- 3:00Speaker 1: living near Newbern, North Carolina, and he is a Panthers fan,
- 3:04Speaker 1: but he was a Cowboys fan for many, many years,
- 3:07Speaker 1: so he doesn't really divorce himself from that. He's also
- 3:09Speaker 1: married to a Patriots fan, too, so you got that.
- 3:13Speaker 1: So all of my siblings are to some extent Cowboy
- 3:20Speaker 1: fans for the years that they lived in Texas. Only
- 3:23Speaker 1: one of my siblings still lives in Texas. I have
- 3:26Speaker 1: two brothers who live in North Carolina, well, one North Carolina,
- 3:28Speaker 1: one South Carolina, just across the state line near Myrtle Beach.
- 3:31Speaker 1: And have a sister who has just moved to South Carolina.
- 3:34Speaker 1: She was in Hawaii for over twenty years. But yeah,
- 3:38Speaker 1: they all still kind of root from the Cowboy root
- 3:41Speaker 1: for the Cowboys from Afar.
- 3:43Speaker 2: So anyway that happens with that.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Hey, let's tell you what's coming up from the program
- 3:48Speaker 1: in a few minutes. We're not gonna talk football. We're
- 3:51Speaker 1: gonna talk basketball. Bill Schoning, a former broadcast partner. We
- 3:54Speaker 1: did a few Texas, Texas A and M games together.
- 3:56Speaker 1: We'll reminisce about those. But I also want to talk
- 3:58Speaker 1: about the Spurs. They one last night at Utah. They
- 4:01Speaker 1: got the Lakers coming in the night in San Antonio,
- 4:04Speaker 1: so Bill will join us to reminisce a little bit
- 4:08Speaker 1: about Thanksgiving and then talks and Basketball will do that.
- 4:12Speaker 1: We have inconceivable which think about this, folks. We're off
- 4:17Speaker 1: tomorrow and Friday, which would normally mean no Florida Man,
- 4:21Speaker 1: because we reserved that for Friday.
- 4:23Speaker 2: No, No, we have a holiday edition to.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Florida Man coming away this afternoon since we're out tomorrow
- 4:28Speaker 1: and Friday. So I have that three o'clock hour more
- 4:31Speaker 1: on the college football realm and landscape about all this business.
- 4:36Speaker 1: With the playoff rankings being announced last night, we'll have
- 4:40Speaker 1: that Texas of course still in that number three slot.
- 4:43Speaker 1: We're going to hear from a couple of longhorns from basketball,
- 4:46Speaker 1: Kenda Weaver, long orange Guard, and also for to Arthur Kaluma,
- 4:50Speaker 1: we'll hear from Vick Schaeffer, Texas Women's head coach. They are.
- 4:56Speaker 2: I think taking off now.
- 4:58Speaker 1: They they are, and I'll tell you no, they take
- 5:06Speaker 1: off in a couple hours, uh, and they're flying to
- 5:10Speaker 1: Southwest Florida where they will be in action the Texas
- 5:16Speaker 1: Women in the Gulf Coast Showcase and it starts off
- 5:20Speaker 1: with New Mexico State tomorrow night, which you can hear
- 5:22Speaker 1: one of three point ONEFM. So there's uh, so there's
- 5:26Speaker 1: that so anyway or Friday night, excuse me, will be
- 5:30Speaker 1: that contest. So there's basketball to discuss as well, of
- 5:35Speaker 1: both the NBA and collegiate variety. So there's a lot
- 5:40Speaker 1: to discuss and a lot of football. And then, and
- 5:44Speaker 1: I said this yesterday, I'm going to put it up
- 5:46Speaker 1: there for a text line, your most vivid I'm not
- 5:52Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say favorite because it might be a
- 5:55Speaker 1: disappointing memory for you, But I'm gonna I'm gonna say

- 6:24Speaker 1: it might be if you were around then, and remember
- 6:26Speaker 1: that whatever.
