Transcript
- 0:00As part of Ferrari Fridays, William Ross from the Exotic Car Marketplace
- 0:04will be discussing all things Ferrari and interviewing people that live
- 0:07and breathe the Ferrari brand.
- 0:09Topics range from road cars to racing, drivers to owners, as well
- 0:13as auctions, private sales, and trends in the collector market.
- 0:28Hello everyone!
- 0:30Welcome back to the Ferrari Marketplace.
- 0:32I'm your host, William Ross.
- 0:33I appreciate you guys listening.
- 0:36And while you're at it, when you finish up with this episode, be sure you head
- 0:38on over to the Motoring Podcast Network and check out what else we have to offer.
- 0:42We got some really cool content over there from Mr.
- 0:45Jonathan Summers.
- 0:46We got BrakeFix over there.
- 0:48We got a few others that are just really, really cool to listen.
- 0:52So hop on over to NPN, see what we got going on.
- 0:55Onward and upward.
- 0:57This episode, we're going to, I guess I want to discuss, everybody just
- 1:03talk about, is it prudent or would it, I don't know, would it behoove
- 1:10Ferrari to build a new, new model?
- 1:17With the factory manual six speed or seven speed.
- 1:21But would it, would it be in their interest, you think, to actually build
- 1:26a new car, new model without, with offering as a manual transmission.
- 1:33Now I would say, you know, wouldn't be, you know, Hey, no, it'd be really cool.
- 1:36It's in the two nine six.
- 1:37Um, but, you know, not just saying not a low end model,
- 1:43not their mid range, whatnot.
- 1:44Would it be like one of the Icona series cars possibly?
- 1:48I don't know.
- 1:48I mean, take a look what's kind of going on in the market.
- 1:50Now, for those of you that listen to the episodes, you know, some
- 1:54episodes back I talked about doing, you know, people doing the swaps.
- 1:59Mainly on 360s and 430s, but, you know, people are starting
- 2:03getting doing the 599s.
- 2:05Um, and I know there's rumors some of you are trying to do a 458 as well, that's
- 2:09getting really, really tricky because that is a whole system that's actually
- 2:14just dedicated, you know, how that was built and made, you know, is for a dual
- 2:19clutch or, you know, uh, transmission, you know, whereas, you know, your 599,
- 2:24575, 550s, Uh, well the 550, I'm sorry.
- 2:28Take that out of the equation.
- 2:29550, all of those were built, were, uh, factory manuals.
- 2:33Uh, but like say your 430s, your 360s, and down to your 355s.
- 2:37You know, not so many of them.
- 2:38Um, that actually, the transmission in that car, From the factory is actually
- 2:45what they've used when you also got a manual all they did was build this
- 2:50Hydraulic system that you know mimicked I guess you could say or would do, you
- 2:56know, you do your shifting for you So it's just doing a lot of these actuators
- 2:59and doing all the stuff that needs to be done and do it You know, very clunky,
- 3:03you know, not the fastest You're not slow, but not nowhere near as fast as
- 3:06they you know, dual clutches or anything like that But you know, so doing a
- 3:10swap Actually, it isn't all that crazy or difficult, I guess you could say.
- 3:15Um, it's just coming up with, you know, the cables, everything like that.
- 3:20All the interior stuff, because you've got to modify the console.
- 3:23You've got to, you know, obviously do the gear selector itself.
- 3:26The ball, all that stuff, the gate itself, all that jazz.
- 3:30The big trick is, the computer, teaching it, reteaching it, formatting
- 3:36it, programming it to understand that, hey, now there's a, there's a
- 3:40third pedal in there that's getting utilized, you know, shifting and
- 3:44whatnot for your revs, all that jazz.
- 3:46So it's just, it's just reteaching it.
- 3:48So now the, obviously the big name of the game and that is EAG down in Texas.
- 3:52Uh, my understanding there was kind of, uh, some hubble blue
- 3:55going on with ownership, whatnot, fighting, blah, blah, blah.
- 3:58But anyways, I guess they must have gotten things sorted out because
- 4:01they seem to be just plugging away.
- 4:03But anyways, you know, they're the big player in this game.
- 4:05They actually sell the kits as well.
- 4:06So you can just buy the kit yourself.
- 4:08It's like 40 Gs, uh, and do it yourself.
- 4:12Pardon me.
- 4:12Um, and have it done.
- 4:14I would recommend having a shop do it because of big, you know, doing the
- 4:18mechanical part, not that difficult.
- 4:20But.
- 4:20Obviously doing the computer part, but hey, you can tweak it yourself.
- 4:23Why not?
- 4:24Uh, Vin Tran, or what's his name?
- 4:25Vinnie?
- 4:26Vin, I don't know, he's got his episode, he was part of Who N Get It?
- 4:28a while back.
- 4:28Uh, probably seen him, you know, putzing around on YouTube.
- 4:31He's got his own channel.
- 4:32But anyways, back to what I want to talk about.
- 4:34So out there in the market, you're starting to see some very high end limber
- 4:39reduction hybrid cars come with, offered, retrofitted, With the manual gearbox.
- 4:47Now Koenigsegg came out with this really, really cool setup.
- 4:52You know, and here's the thing when you watch it, or you see
- 4:56how it is, and do it, you know, it's actually mimicking a manual.
- 5:00Is what it's actually doing.
- 5:01So it's not really so much it's a manual transmission product.
- 5:04Percay with the clutch in that it's mimicking it.
- 5:08So the computer is doing everything to give you that sensation that feel
- 5:12like you are actually Rolling your own, rolling the gears going through it.
- 5:18So, because you can actually put it into a fully automatic mode.
- 5:21Or you can put it in where you got the flappy paddles.
- 5:23So you got three options.
- 5:24So is it technically, you know, a manual six feet?
- 5:29Yeah, I guess you could say, yeah, but I mean, it's all done
- 5:31computers and stuff like that.
- 5:32It's giving you that sensation to feel the clutch pedal.
- 5:36It's giving you that sensation.
- 5:37I mean, like that, where your pickup point is the whole thing.
- 5:39It's really, really cool.
- 5:41The whole system.
- 5:42I mean, it is.
- 5:43Christian Koenigsegg and his team over there.
- 5:45They have some of the most brilliant engineers on the planet
- 5:48right now, what they're doing.
- 5:50No offense against the guys over at Rimac and what they're doing, stuff like that.
- 5:54But, I gotta say, the Koenigsegg guys got it going on.
- 5:58So, and, I would love to be a fly in the wild or what not.
- 6:00See who, you know, has these Christian ideas, you know,
- 6:03some of his guys or what not.
- 6:05I don't know, but I got to say they have some awesome, awesome
- 6:09stuff going on over there.
- 6:10Cody's thing is really cool.
- 6:11I really respect, like that brand a lot.
- 6:13Love what they do.
- 6:13But anyways, Pagani, Pagani actually offers on their newest model, the Utopia,
- 6:22a full fledged auto, automatic, full fledged manual gearbox, like full on.
- 6:29So you got a V12, twin turbo, V12.
- 6:33In that car, 800 some odd horsepower, everything like that,
- 6:36full fledged, you can get it.
- 6:37Now, you can get the, uh, flappy is the interesting thing, and this
- 6:43makes you wonder if this is something that is starting to become, going
- 6:46to become more and more common with some of these more main players or,
- 6:50you know, more established, I don't want to say established brands, you
- 6:53know, like the big names, Ferrari, Lamborghini, stuff like that.
- 6:56Porsche obviously still offers a manual on some of their models.
- 6:59But, um, the up, the take up on that from clients, from customers, was like
- 7:0990 out of the 100, it was like 95 percent of the people took the manual option.
- 7:15They ordered the car with a manual gearbox.
- 7:18And from my understanding, one or two of the people, they wanted to
- 7:21have it, but just due to health reasons, something, their legs or
- 7:26something, somewhere, they couldn't.
- 7:28Unfortunately, they just for, you know, medical reasons, do their, something
- 7:32with their body, legs, whatnot.
- 7:34They couldn't do it because they couldn't do the gear changes or whatnot.
- 7:37So, they had to get the automated, the, uh, you know, flappy pedal
- 7:42gearbox, as we all love to say.
- 7:44So, makes you go, hmm, is that something that Ferrari should consider?
- 7:51So, In my opinion, yes, most definitely.
- 7:54I think they should.
- 7:54Now, see here's what would suck.
- 7:56Because obviously when you look at what it takes to create that, the
- 8:01engineering, the investment, the time, I mean, you'd have to totally design
- 8:05a whole manual gearbox, everything.
- 8:08You know, and then you get into the fact is, you know, your interior
- 8:11wise, because you got the gear selector, third pedal, awesome.
- 8:14There's a lot of stuff that goes into that in regards to offering
- 8:17that as an option in a car.
- 8:19So it's like, okay, what do you do?
- 8:21Do you do it along the Icona series where you're doing maybe
- 8:23you'll build a couple hundred cars?
- 8:26Um, or do you get it more mainstream and do it on a model where you offer it?
- 8:32But you'd have to like also really completely change up everything on this
- 8:35car So it's like you'd have to design and build this car from the get go that you
- 8:40were offering a manual It's not like for the say the 296 which again i'm gonna say
- 8:44would be Awesome with the manual gearbox.
- 8:47That would be unbelievable with the manual gearbox, you know But the thing
- 8:51was designed that way is designed from the get go to have a flappy paddle
- 8:54gearbox everything like that How the whole thing's done up the whole nine
- 8:56yards your interior design everything like that I mean everything's designed
- 8:59to have that set up in there It's not made designed to have this big stalk and
- 9:03ball sitting there between the passenger and driver's seat and everything all
- 9:05that jazz And but it would look so cool Fucking cool, pardon my French.
- 9:10But anyways, you know, so, do, do they, you know, the follow up to the 296?
- 9:17Because think about it, because like right now they're in the stages of, okay,
- 9:21what's going to be coming after the 296?
- 9:24What are they going to build?
- 9:25Because, you know, in product planning and everything like that, you know, you
- 9:27have your, you know, um, lifespan of a car, you know, depending on if they,
- 9:32you know, anywhere from 6, 7, 8 years.
- 9:34You know, I don't know how long they're going to have that, the
- 9:36296 in the cycle, but you know, sometimes they have them very lengthy,
- 9:40sometimes they have them short.
- 9:41You know, so I'm going to be keeping the thing going for a long time.
- 9:44Now take a look at like the F12, which turned into the 812.
- 9:48I mean, basically almost the same, identical car, just
- 9:50a few tweaks and whatnot.
- 9:50But you know, the, the, the basic premise is there.
- 9:54So they get a custom, hey, so call it the, uh, I don't know if you go 312,
- 9:59call it the 298, something, I don't know.
- 10:02But I just think it would be awesome for them to come out and offer a manual gear.
- 10:07I see a lot of people are going back to want that analog experience.
- 10:11Cause let's be serious.
- 10:12Cars that are getting built today at that level.
- 10:16That price point, that performance, you're not going to use nowhere near
- 10:22all the things that that car can do.
- 10:23You're not even going to, those wheels will never see a track.
- 10:27You know, they might barely ever get over a hundred miles an hour.
- 10:30I don't, you know, I just, I don't know.
- 10:32I mean, so why have a car that has all that performance, that capability?
- 10:37Oh, you can change gear and X amount of milliseconds.
- 10:39Oh, and this, that is going to shave 10 tenths off for this.
- 10:44Who's going to do that?
- 10:45You know, the 1 percent of them, a lot of those guys, they're buying the full
- 10:49fledged race car that their factory sells and taking them on the track.
- 10:53So why do you, you know, why does it matter to road car?
- 10:55You want to have analog experience.
- 10:57You want to be part of it.
- 10:58That's why you go into the marketplace and you look and see what people are
- 11:02asking for factory manual Ferraris, be it.
- 11:07That's so much three sixties, but four thirties, if you guys
- 11:11jump on the foreign marketplace.
- 11:13com, check out the analytics we got going on.
- 11:15We have from the past four or five years, we plugged in and put the data up to look
- 11:21at the sales and see where the trends are.
- 11:23I was going to take a look at and see.
- 11:25My man Eric put a lot of time and effort into that.
- 11:28Kudos to my man.
- 11:29He is awesome.
- 11:30But take a look at the numbers and the sales figures.
- 11:33It kind of gives you a market forecast and where it's been and everything like that.
- 11:36Kind of gives you an idea.
- 11:37Check out the numbers on that and you'll see.
- 11:40The price and demand for the factory manuals, especially
- 11:44the 430, has gone to the roof.
- 11:46599, forget about it.
- 11:47Worldwide, 30 built.
- 11:4920 for the U.
- 11:50S.
- 11:51Now I think they got a little greedy and some people think it's a million dollar
- 11:54car But if you look at some of the most recent auction numbers, it is about six
- 11:58seven hundred thousand dollars So I know there's a dealer out there that they had
- 12:01one He was sitting on for a bit and he was looking close to 900 didn't happen, you
- 12:05know So I obviously got those something out there to see what happens see if it
- 12:08sticks He was wants to know but he said that car for a bit Now you look at factory
- 12:14430 manuals, uh, there's a few that have been sitting out there for quite a while.
- 12:19I'm going to pick out a couple.
- 12:21There's a gentleman that's over on the east coast.
- 12:24I'm not going to say his name, Ryan Freedman.
- 12:26Um, he's had a few of these, and he's got a hell of an inventory.
- 12:30Ryan's a great guy.
- 12:31Super nice.
- 12:32Uh, but he's had a couple now.
- 12:34There's one he's had.
- 12:35It's blue, red interior.
- 12:38He bought it from a dealer out of Michigan.
- 12:40I can't remember the dealer's name because it's been a few months.
- 12:42It's been a while.
- 12:44Um, that dealer had it at like 299, something like that.
- 12:48Carhead.
- 12:4912, 000 miles, something like that.
- 12:51I have to go back and check.
- 12:52You know, mileage was decent.
- 12:53Anything crazy.
- 12:54Nice color combo.
- 12:55It's pretty sick.
- 12:55I love the red interior with the blue.
- 12:57It's a great, great combo on it.
- 12:59So Ryan, you know, it wasn't for sale long in Detroit because he snagged it
- 13:01up and bought it for what I don't know.
- 13:04But then he turned around and threw it up on his site for 320.
- 13:08So he was trying to do a flip.
- 13:09He snagged that thing.
- 13:10He was hoping.
- 13:11Now what's interesting on that car, he had put it up on bring a trailer.
- 13:16And I made a post on there in the question, you know, in the comment
- 13:19section about, about the fact is, Oh, well, hey, this is interesting that this
- 13:24car came from X in Detroit for this.
- 13:27It was for sale at this price.
- 13:29Ryan bought it and then put it up for this curious to see what goes on here.
- 13:35My post got removed for not being, what do they say, it's, it's um, it's not,
- 13:41it's not contributing in a positive way or something, I don't know, something cheesy.
- 13:45So I redid it again and reposted it, then it stayed up there, but it's like
- 13:47really, come on, people with half a brain.
- 13:50We'll know to do the research.
- 13:51All you gotta do is pull the VIN up, type that into Google search,
- 13:54and it's gonna come up to where this car is at and everything like that.
- 13:56So, I mean, it ain't rocket science, people.
- 13:58You can't be hiding this stuff.
- 14:00So, didn't sell on Bring a Trailer.
- 14:02I think it got up to 280, 270, something like that.
- 14:05I don't even know it got that high.
- 14:05I'd have to go back and check.
- 14:07Um, here, tell you what.
- 14:08You know what?
- 14:09I got the computer right in front of me.
- 14:11Let's go to Bring a Trailer.
- 14:13Let's pull up 430s.
- 14:16Come on, computer.
- 14:17Come on, computer.
- 14:18Uh, F430.
- 14:22Ferrari F430.
- 14:24Let's see what we got going on real quick.
- 14:26Uh, let's see here.
- 14:28Now let's look at, where's our auction results.
- 14:32Um, ba doom boom boom.
- 14:34Ba doom boom boom.
- 14:36Trying to remember how long ago it was in, um,
- 14:42give me a moment.
- 14:43Bear with me.
- 14:43It was a few months ago.
- 14:46We're back to, I don't think it was that long ago, was it?
- 14:52Is it even on here?
- 14:53I don't know, do they do, no, they have the ones that are
- 14:55unsold and I'll see we're getting back into beginning of the year.
- 14:59Now where'd it go?
- 15:00Where'd you go Mr.
- 15:01Blue Car?
- 15:03Mr.
- 15:03Blue?
- 15:05It wasn't there, wasn't there, no, no.
- 15:09We'll get into Scuds too because that's a whole, that's another,
- 15:15it's interesting to see when you get to like conversions
- 15:17too and see the prices on that.
- 15:18So, um, Oh, I'm sorry.
- 15:21You know what?
- 15:21It wasn't Ryan's car.
- 15:22I apologize.
- 15:23It was actually the yellow one.
- 15:25So, you know, I was talking about that yellow one.
- 15:27There was, and I don't see it anywhere.
- 15:29How'd it go?
- 15:39I don't know.
- 15:40Anyways, I don't, I ain't going to ditch going through it.
- 15:42So anyways, but it was Ryan's car.
- 15:44We're going back for it.
- 15:44So, and he's been still sitting on it and looking at his inventory
- 15:48and he's got a couple other ones.
- 15:50There seem to get a little more realistic, but there's a black on black of which I
- 15:53love to have, um, that he's got reasonably priced at two 80, something like that.
- 15:58And it's got, um, I'm trying to remember the mileage on it.
- 16:01Um, let me see here.
- 16:06Let's see here, let's go on, let's see if he still has it.
- 16:09Let's just check it out and see since we're, since we're talking about it.
- 16:13Let's just go on to his website and say, what you got there Mr.
- 16:16Friedman?
- 16:16What you looking at?
- 16:17Inventory?
- 16:18Current inventory?
- 16:20Let's go to your Ferraris.
- 16:22Let's see what we got.
- 16:22Maybe he sold it.
- 16:23I don't know.
- 16:23But he's got a black on black one.
- 16:25I just love to get my hands on.
- 16:26Um, here let's just do the search.
- 16:29Make, we want Ferrari.
- 16:32He's got 11.
- 16:33There we go.
- 16:34All right, got some got a 355 there's an f1 tranny challenge to dolly
- 16:43Doom
- 16:46See he still has the blue one that one has 12, 000 484 miles He's got a 289.
- 16:549.
- 16:54So he's dropped it down.
- 16:55So I wonder how much he got it for from the Detroit guy.
- 16:58Um, then there's a three 60 and then here is the two feet.
- 17:02Oh, he's dropped the price, but it's got a little over 26, 000 miles on it.
- 17:06Uh, black on black.
- 17:07My love to have that car.
- 17:08So it's getting down there.
- 17:09So people got it.
- 17:11I want to say greedy in regards to pricing and what have you, but like I
- 17:15said, go on the, the fire marketplace.
- 17:16com check out the market trends and you'll see, so They didn't sell.
- 17:21And I know there was a couple out there.
- 17:23People think, Oh my God, half a mil not happening.
- 17:26People markets going to dictate, tell you what something's worth.
- 17:29So these guys are sitting on these cars cause they're
- 17:31getting a little out of hand.
- 17:32Now, the interesting thing is three sixties.
- 17:34You know, you get yourself, you can still, you're still in the mid 100
- 17:37range, 140, 170, depending on mileage, whatnot, what have you, um, and get
- 17:43it, so, those are still very decent.
- 17:45Now, I'm going to do the next follow up to this is going to be, I'm
- 17:49going to compare the 360 and 430 because there's, even though they
- 17:51look extremely similar, there's some huge differences between them.
- 17:54But anyways, so you can still do well with the 360 in regards to
- 17:58getting a factory manual 6 speed.
- 17:59So, So here's the thing, again, going with the price wise is on that.
- 18:03So a 360, you can pick one up for 80 grand.
- 18:06It's got some, you know, maybe 20, 30, 000 miles on it, needs
- 18:09a service or anything like that.
- 18:10So if you're going to go in there and do a manual swap, you might as
- 18:13well, you know, do your, uh, belts and everything like that as well.
- 18:16So, but say you got 40 grand for the kit, put it in there.
- 18:18I mean, you could still be at the price.
- 18:19So why don't you just spend a few extra dollars to get yourself
- 18:21factory manual, just the financial and the numbers don't make sense.
- 18:25So anyways, Should Ferrari build another one?
- 18:28Factory with a new car?
- 18:29Yes, they should.
- 18:30It's my opinion that I think they would sell like hotcakes.
- 18:34You know?
- 18:35So again, it kind of sucks is, okay, is it going to be an Icona
- 18:38series where it's a limited edition and you got to be on the list?
- 18:41You got to be the in, you know, you've had to had yourself 500 Ferraris before,
- 18:46you know, you got to own yourself, you know, the new F80, you got to own a lot
- 18:49of Ferrari and Enzo, you got to, I mean, you know, I didn't, you know, some of
- 18:53these stipulations, well, if you, if you buy yourself an SF90, we'll sell you this,
- 18:57you know, kind of that deal so they can move them because no one's buying SF90s.
- 19:00Um, you know, so it's, so.
- 19:03Where do they drop it?
- 19:05You would hope they would drop it.
- 19:08So it would be a production car that, I mean, even a production car, they're only
- 19:13building a few thousand a year of them.
- 19:15So it's not like you're building tens of thousands of them.
- 19:17So it's still technically limb car.
- 19:19It would sound like crazy.
- 19:20Could you imagine what the resale, the flip market would be?
- 19:23Oh my Lord.
- 19:24People would be making bank on those cars, but I just think it would
- 19:27be so cool for them to go back.
- 19:31Go to their roots, man.
- 19:32Build a factory manual.
- 19:33It'd be awesome to see the 296.
- 19:35I mean, obviously twin 36, but you know, it wouldn't be that much of
- 19:40an engineering exercise to do it.
- 19:43And I guarantee you'll be leading the way in the marketplace.
- 19:46You want to talk about Lamborghini jumping on board.
- 19:49They did do that in a heartbeat.
- 19:50And you talk about, you know, their V12 just glorious sounding
- 19:54with the manual, everything.
- 19:56Uh, put a good tiny exhaust on there.
- 19:58Lord have mercy.
- 20:00You'd be singing to the gods with that's my son.
- 20:03So yes, they should do it again.
- 20:06Now, what do they put in it?
- 20:07Then here's a question.
- 20:09Do you do it into, drop it into a VTOL?
- 20:11Because here's the other problem you have.
- 20:13You got all these emission standards.
- 20:15You have all this stuff.
- 20:15So it's like, oh, maybe you make it a track only car.
- 20:18Well, that would suck.
- 20:19Um, you know, you could go into the fact is you make it.
- 20:24Barely a track only car, but you put all the stuff in there to
- 20:29turn it into a road legal car.
- 20:31You just have someone on the outside do it.
- 20:34So basically have all the wiring for all your stuff, you know that you need to
- 20:37transform it back into a road legal car.
- 20:40You know, there's those entities that will do that.
- 20:43There's the, what you would call, they do that with the, uh, McLaren F1s.
- 20:48You know, they've done some very, you know, racy, racy
- 20:51cars with those and made them.
- 20:53street legal, and so it's not out of the realm, so it would be cool for them to do.
- 20:59So, you know, there's a way to flirt with everything and kind of
- 21:03get these things back to where it would need to be a road legal car.
- 21:06Excuse me, so I don't think it'd be all that difficult.
- 21:09But, again, you would almost have to go the route of having a twin
- 21:16turbo model, be it a V8 or a V6.
- 21:19Now, yeah, you could do the V12.
- 21:21Yeah, that's true.
- 21:22So, but, again, for the emissions and all that stuff, they gotta meet all the
- 21:26stringent requirements, all that jazz.
- 21:29You know, you gotta do this to the motor, so you couldn't have an NA
- 21:31V12, V8, or V6, or anything like that.
- 21:35It's gonna have to be twin turbocharged and do it.
- 21:37But I mean, you can still make it sound good.
- 21:39So, you know, you have all that to deal with.
- 21:42But I still think it would be so worth it.
- 21:45And I'm going to tell you right now, Ferrari, you would
- 21:48sell them out in a heartbeat.
- 21:50You want to talk about just getting back to the core.
- 21:52You want to talk about not only taking care of your loyal supporters, followers,
- 21:58and clients, customers, man, you'd probably gain Crap load more, you know,
- 22:03you'd get a lot of people over from the dark side of the raging bull and get them
- 22:08over to the prancing horse Because you went back to hey, what let's let's do
- 22:12something like that Let's let's go back to let's go back to building something
- 22:17that the clients would just absolutely go nuts for I mean that would just and could
- 22:23you imagine with what they have what you have at your you know, your Your arsenal
- 22:28what you have that you could get into in regards to Put putting this together.
- 22:34It would be awesome what you could do with this car You know what and get rid of all
- 22:39no, you don't need to have you know You know don't need the the screen in there.
- 22:43You don't need to have GPS.
- 22:45You need all that garbage Scrap that go back analog.
- 22:49Yeah, you still have all your computer stuff You need to really enhance it
- 22:52and all that jazz, but get rid of all that crap No one gives a shit about it.
- 22:58No one wants it.
- 22:59And a lot of the times it runs like crap.
- 23:03Go back to make a nice bass.
- 23:06Balls out fun, just analog Ferrari that you can just go out and enjoy.
- 23:13You got your three things in front of you.
- 23:15You got your speedo.
- 23:16You got your RPM gauge.
- 23:19So you know if you're going to run out of gas or not, you know, if you want to put
- 23:22a couple of other ones in there, fine.
- 23:24So be it, put a couple of your smaller ones for your voltage and all that crap.
- 23:27But just get your big dot, two big dolls in front of you.
- 23:31Have your basic, I mean, you don't even need a radio, but you know
- 23:34what people are going to want that.
- 23:35So put in a decent radio, your air con, that kind of stuff.
- 23:38But forget having that big fricking screen and touch buttons and all that crap.
- 23:45You know, just have it nice and basic.
- 23:47Have it on your, know what you got on your steering wheel?
- 23:49A horn button.
- 23:50That's it.
- 23:50That's all you need.
- 23:51Horn.
- 23:52That's all you need.
- 23:54You don't need the magneto and do all that crap to go and raise, blah, blah, blah.
- 23:57All that stuff.
- 23:57No.
- 23:59All you need is your three pedals, your steering wheel, your couple of
- 24:01circle gauges, and that big metal stick sticking up out between your,
- 24:05uh, right next to your right hand.
- 24:07Nice ball in there.
- 24:08Bam, bam, bam, bam.
- 24:09Going through the gates.
- 24:11You want to talk about selling those like, you could probably
- 24:13build a hundred thousand of them.
- 24:14You'd sell them in a heartbeat at 250, 000 a piece.
- 24:18Cost you a hundred grand to build them or whatever.
- 24:19You make a bank.
- 24:20I mean, it's just an exercise in engineering.
- 24:25I think Ferrari needs to go back to, I think it would just be phenomenal.
- 24:29It'd be so cool to see that happen just to go back to just doing something like that.
- 24:35It would just be so cool to see.
- 24:37I mean, again, obviously you got to have your safety features, got to have airbags,
- 24:40got to have those stuff, dah, dah, dah.
- 24:42So, but just whatever the bare minimum is to pass all the regulations that you need.
- 24:47Cause let's face it, you're basically building the past the regulations United
- 24:50States because the United States sucks.
- 24:52in regards to what regulations you got to meet because you meet their U.
- 24:56S.
- 24:56regulations, that thing's going to pass everywhere else.
- 24:59Just plain and simple.
- 25:00So bare minimum, meet what you got to meet.
- 25:03Put in a six speed manual.
- 25:05Yes, you could do a seven, but it just looks too funky.
- 25:07Having that extra thing over there.
- 25:09All you need is a six speed.
- 25:10You're finding good with that.
- 25:12Cause I said, that is more than enough for 99.
- 25:159 percent of the people that are going to buy it and drive it.
- 25:18They're going to talk about going to the tail of the dragon, going to those places
- 25:21with that, just hearing that thing sing.
- 25:23Um, I mean, it'd just be unbelievable what you could do with that car.
- 25:29Man, that'd be fantastic.
- 25:30So tell me your thoughts message.
- 25:34Shoot me an email.

- 25:45I did a poll on LinkedIn a while back and yes, basically 99
- 25:48percent of the people said yes, of course you had these youngsters.
- 25:51Nah, flap your paddle.
- 25:52There you go.
- 25:52Cause they don't know how to dry stick.
- 25:54That's the problem.
- 25:55They didn't learn.
- 25:57I learned my first car was a stick when I drove on the road.
- 26:00Cause I learned how to drive a lot earlier than that, you know, started
- 26:02riding motorcycles when I was five, four.
- 26:04So I guarantee a lot of these listeners, majority of your listeners,
- 26:08your first car was a manual.
- 26:10You probably have a manual car in your garage right now.
- 26:15So, comment on this.
- 26:17Shoot me an email.
- 26:18Let me know what you think.

- 26:20I think it'd be really cool.
- 26:22Mr.
- 26:22Eric, I think we should maybe set this up on BreakFix and have
- 26:25a little roundtable discussion.
- 26:27I think that'd be fun.
- 26:28So anyways guys, that's about all I have on this episode today.
