- 0:00Speaker 1: For all you mad bastards loving the Big Show Podcast
- 0:05Speaker 1: Get up even closer On.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Instagram, YouTube and TikTok Or Raw Dogget Four to seven
- 0:12Speaker 2: every weekday On Radio Hauraki.
- 0:16Speaker 3: Yeah Yeah Good thanks fellas, how are you?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Really great How was your burger Keezy? Looked pretty delicious It.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Was really yum, I needed to eat that because I
- 0:26Speaker 1: had no energy Oh, really?
- 0:28Speaker 2: Well, you're falling apart.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Yeah, because I had brekkie, and then I hadn't eaten
- 0:31Speaker 1: since brekkie.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Wow.
- 0:33Speaker 1: And I had lots of water.
- 0:33Speaker 2: What did you have for brekkie?
- 0:34Speaker 1: Baked beans on Vogel's.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Toast. Toast.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Vogel's toast, though.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Is that what you say? You say Vogel's instead of toast.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Yeah, because toast for me is Mollenberg. But when I'm
- 0:44Speaker 1: feeling pretty extra, like I need some extra sustenance, I'll
- 0:47Speaker 1: go the Vogels.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Right.
- 0:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Do you ever have Vogels?
- 0:50Speaker 2: That's all I have. All right. Occasionally the Mollenberg, but
- 0:52Speaker 2: that's a bigger slice of bread, so I feel like
- 0:54Speaker 2: any extra sustenance is probably equaled out. Yeah.
- 0:57Speaker 1: It's bigger, but it feels flimsier. Oh, it's flimsier. Like
- 1:01Speaker 1: I have to toast my Vogels twice. Right. On five.
- 1:05Speaker 1: And then butter and then beans.
- 1:08Speaker 2: Beans, yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 1: Half a tonne of beans.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Because people say that about their cars, don't they? They start,
- 1:12Speaker 2: it's not a car anymore, it's a Mercedes. I've got
- 1:15Speaker 2: to take the Mercedes in to get a warrant. Oh yeah,
- 1:17Speaker 2: got to take the Honda out, the Teeter. Yeah, you
- 1:19Speaker 2: don't say that, do you? You say the car.
- 1:21Speaker 1: So you're getting even more specific, because you're saying the Teeter.
- 1:24Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, for the radio I do. Oh, the Teeter,
- 1:27Speaker 2: that's right, the model.
- 1:28Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Do you think you'll ever start saying, I've got to
- 1:31Speaker 1: take the 07 Teeter in?
- 1:33Speaker 2: I'm not sure it is an 07. I think it's
- 1:35Speaker 2: earlier than that.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Is it?
- 1:36Speaker 2: But one day hopefully I can upgrade. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:39Speaker 2: I thought you were upgrading. Weren't you going to upgrade?
- 1:41Speaker 2: We upgraded. Oh, you did. Yeah. But then we got, oh,
- 1:45Speaker 2: forgot about her. Oui, oui. Yeah, si, si.
- 1:50Speaker 1: That's so weird for the listeners right now.
- 1:52Speaker 2: And then we got it. So I'll tell you what
- 1:55Speaker 2: happened was we got this hybrid, right?
- 2:00Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Because you could get a loan and it was 0%.
- 2:03Speaker 2: And it's like, well, actually, after our accountant did all
- 2:06Speaker 2: the math, it's going to cost you like five grand
- 2:10Speaker 2: over five years, you know?
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Which is all good. But we chose the car. We
- 2:14Speaker 2: were told it was going to take us no time
- 2:17Speaker 2: to get the money. But then it turned out you
- 2:19Speaker 2: had to go through a full application process, like you're
- 2:21Speaker 2: buying a house. Right. Which was a bit of a
- 2:24Speaker 2: ball ache. And I had nothing to do with it, really.
- 2:27Speaker 2: The missus was on it. And so after a while...
- 2:32Speaker 2: determined that, oh, no, actually they don't do that loan
- 2:34Speaker 2: for hybrids. They only do it for full electrical wheels. Oh, right.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Initially it was hybrids, but then they changed it last
- 2:41Speaker 2: year to only be electrical. So then we now had
- 2:45Speaker 2: a car that didn't qualify for this loan. Oh, really?
- 2:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. And so went through a palaver with that.
- 2:53Speaker 1: Because you haven't mentioned it much. Because usually you'd be like, ah.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Well, we've got the car, but what we've done is
- 3:00Speaker 2: we've now ordered a fully electrical one. Electric one. Not electrical.
- 3:04Speaker 2: It's electric.
- 3:05Speaker 1: You sound like my granddad.
- 3:07Speaker 2: And we're keeping the hybrid until the other one, which
- 3:12Speaker 2: we've had to order, turns up in November at some point.
- 3:15Speaker 2: But that's a nice, good car, and it's better, I think.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I like it more than the one we've got. But, yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 2: it was just a bit of a.
- 3:21Speaker 3: It just occurs to me that I realise now that
- 3:25Speaker 3: I have no interactions with banks anymore.
- 3:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Like back in the day, they were fraught with all
- 3:34Speaker 3: sorts of, you know, going to a bank to try
- 3:36Speaker 3: and get money out of the bastards. It was a
- 3:38Speaker 3: very stressful time. But I haven't dealt with a bank
- 3:41Speaker 3: for a long, long time. I haven't had to deal with.
- 3:43Speaker 2: A bank for a long, long time.
- 3:45Speaker 1: What about a sperm bank?
- 3:47Speaker 2: Oh, no, I stopped there in my mid-30s. What about
- 3:49Speaker 2: a wank bank? Oh, no, that's still going. I invest
- 3:52Speaker 2: heavily in that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I'm beating
- 3:55Speaker 2: off all the time. Oh, okay. Okay. You guys. What?
- 4:02Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show, weekdays from 4 on Radio Hauraki.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Ha, ha, ha. Now that's good listening. And it's live.
- 4:10Speaker 2: What are you listening to there? Oh, me?
- 4:14Speaker 1: Oh, sorry.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I was listening to the Radio Hauraki Big Show.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Right. Four to seven weekdays.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Yeah, that's quite specific.
- 4:24Speaker 1: And iHeartRadio.
- 4:26Speaker 2: What? Cheers.
- 4:29Speaker 1: The Hauraki Big Show Podcast.
- 4:31Speaker 2: It's really good for the prostate to beat off.
- 4:33Speaker 1: You can't just use the prostate as an excuse to
- 4:35Speaker 1: do all sorts, all manner of depraved things.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Like beating off. That's disgusting.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Well, no, I suggested to you the other day, Kizio,
- 4:43Speaker 2: I was saying going for a walk is good for
- 4:44Speaker 2: the prostate.
- 4:45Speaker 1: After dinner specifically?
- 4:46Speaker 2: Yes, after you've eaten.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Yeah, which I'll be doing tonight because we're out of milk.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Do you massage the prostate while you're going for a walk?
- 4:53Speaker 3: No, I just leave it. I just leave it and
- 4:56Speaker 3: then I massage it when I get home.
- 4:58Speaker 1: So like today, for example, I was like, oh, we're
- 5:00Speaker 1: out of milk. I can get some on the way home.
- 5:02Speaker 1: But instead I said, how about we go for a
- 5:04Speaker 1: walk after dinner and get some? Oh, man. Because we've
- 5:06Speaker 1: got a corner store.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 5:07Speaker 2: A little walk away. And she's like, it's a great idea.
- 5:09Speaker 2: That's good stuff. Yeah.
- 5:11Speaker 1: And then I said, it's good for my prostate.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 1: And then she said, yuck.
- 5:15Speaker 3: That's not an option for me because our store is
- 5:17Speaker 3: literally like 40 metres from our house.
- 5:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but he's dead, isn't he now?
- 5:20Speaker 3: That doesn't really qualify as, no, I had a good
- 5:23Speaker 3: chat to him today. He's pretty traumatised.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I imagine so.
- 5:25Speaker 1: What happened?
- 5:27Speaker 2: Wow, some dudes came into his dairy and smacked the
- 5:29Speaker 2: shit out of him. Oh, really? Yeah, on Sunday. Really?
- 5:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:33Speaker 2: On your Sunday there?
- 5:34Speaker 3: Blood and blood all over the floor. I actually arrived
- 5:36Speaker 3: about a couple of minutes after it happened. It was
- 5:39Speaker 3: not good.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Holy cow. Couldn't get as vape juicy as I.
- 5:43Speaker 3: And interestingly, it was really, really telling because I was
- 5:47Speaker 3: having a chat to him at the dairy today and
- 5:50Speaker 3: a car pulled up.
- 5:51Speaker 2: They had a really loud exhaust, you know, like a
- 5:54Speaker 2: real kind of rough ragging. A wagon.
- 5:57Speaker 1: A waff-wagon.
- 5:59Speaker 3: And he had a look in his eye of fear
- 6:01Speaker 3: and of anxiety. And I went, I get that, man.
- 6:03Speaker 3: You must be.
- 6:04Speaker 2: They were constantly on edge. Because this happened on a
- 6:08Speaker 2: Sunday afternoon at like 2 o'clock in the day. Yeah.
- 6:12Speaker 2: And were they trying to get stuff off him?
- 6:13Speaker 3: Yeah, there was about four or five of them, and
- 6:16Speaker 3: they just ripped shit off the shelves.
- 6:18Speaker 1: And they beat him up?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Yeah, or he doesn't take a backward step. He comes
- 6:21Speaker 2: out with a cricket bat.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Yeah, right, okay.
- 6:23Speaker 2: And they laid into him. And what did he get
- 6:25Speaker 2: in the end? What were his injuries?
- 6:27Speaker 3: Got a smashed hand, and they smashed his hand, and
- 6:29Speaker 3: he looked– Got some bruising down his chest.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Right.
- 6:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 2: Fuck, that sucks, eh? It really sucks.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Poor dude.
- 6:37Speaker 2: But anyway, to get back to toast chat. Yeah, man.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I have plowmans today. I have plowmans. Oh, yeah. Which
- 6:43Speaker 2: is my wife's favourite. I'm not a big fan.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Your wife's favourite is plowmans.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Plowmans. It's a very thick cut. Yeah.
- 6:49Speaker 1: And it's an annoying shape.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It is an annoying shape. You have to cut it
- 6:52Speaker 2: in half and put it on either side because it
- 6:54Speaker 2: doesn't toast the whole thing, does it? My toaster does. Oh,
- 6:56Speaker 2: you've got one of those long bars.
- 6:57Speaker 1: You've got a ploughman's toaster.
- 6:59Speaker 2: It's just a regular toaster. No, it's not. No, it's not.
- 7:02Speaker 1: It's a highfalutin bloody fancy boy toaster.
- 7:05Speaker 2: It's because you guys have many bits of toast.
- 7:08Speaker 3: But I prefer a Vogel's, and like you, Keezy, I
- 7:11Speaker 3: have to double cook it so it's crispy.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Why do you prefer a Vogel's but eat ploughman's?
- 7:15Speaker 2: Well, because my wife buys the ploughman's when she's buying bread.
- 7:19Speaker 2: And when I'm buying the bread, I'll buy your Vogel's.
- 7:22Speaker 2: You sneaky bastard.
- 7:23Speaker 1: Or.
- 7:24Speaker 2: Honey oat tip top. Gross. With the little honey oat
- 7:28Speaker 2: in it.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Do you keep your Vogels in the freezer?
- 7:31Speaker 2: No.
- 7:32Speaker 1: I'm asking Mogi.
- 7:33Speaker 2: I do, yes. Yeah, same. Because otherwise we have it
- 7:35Speaker 2: for too long and it goes mouldy. Yeah, right.
- 7:38Speaker 1: It does go mouldy quick, eh, Vogels?
- 7:39Speaker 2: That's the good thing about Vogels is it actually goes off,
- 7:41Speaker 2: which tells you there's less preservatives in it, Keezy. All
- 7:44Speaker 2: the other breads last forever and they don't go off
- 7:46Speaker 2: because they're full of shit. What does preservative do? Preserves it.
- 7:50Speaker 1: What does preservative do?
- 7:51Speaker 2: Preserves it. Stops it going off. Oh, wow.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Preservative.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Yes. Preserve.
- 7:57Speaker 1: And is it bad for you?
- 7:59Speaker 2: Yes. Well, generally, if you're putting shit in to make
- 8:01Speaker 2: things last longer, it's not a good thing. It's like chips.
- 8:05Speaker 2: You remember chips, Jase? I haven't had any for so long.
- 8:08Speaker 2: But do you remember them? That's actually a lie. Back
- 8:10Speaker 2: in the day, they'd always go stale real quick. Yes.
- 8:13Speaker 2: And especially your eater chips, your eater ripples, you'd open
- 8:17Speaker 2: them up, they'd already be stale. They came pre-stale. Oh, wow.
- 8:21Speaker 2: But since then, there's been so many more preservatives allowed
- 8:24Speaker 2: in food that you can leave them out for fucking weeks.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Well, that's why I hardly eat potato chips.
- 8:28Speaker 2: No, I don't get any of them. Neither. I bought
- 8:32Speaker 2: a packet of Pop-A-Jacks today in a moment of weakness.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Did you drive your... Oh, fuck, I was effing and jeffing.
- 8:38Speaker 2: I went, I want to go and get some Pop-A-Jacks.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Instead of a packet of darts. Instead of darts, yeah.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Did you drive your wuff raggin'? To go bide some
- 8:48Speaker 1: Papa Jacks?
- 8:49Speaker 3: As I previously mentioned, my dairy's only about 30 metres away.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah. So I walked up.
- 8:53Speaker 1: The thing with Papa Jacks is that they're shit.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I like them.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Like they're just a shit muncho. Like they're a shit muncho.
- 9:02Speaker 1: They're like chicken flavouring on a muncho.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yeah, I like them. They're so good. Do you like them, man?
- 9:07Speaker 2: I love them.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 2: I mean, obviously, because I buy them.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I give them two buzzies out of five.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I mean, I wouldn't buy them if I didn't love them.
- 9:12Speaker 2: That's true. You know what I mean?
- 9:13Speaker 1: Right.
- 9:15Speaker 2: But, you know, I'm not a big fan of the manchos,
- 9:17Speaker 2: so there you go.
- 9:18Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 9:19Speaker 2: I like a mancho as well.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Manchos are delicious.
- 9:20Speaker 2: Look, I'll eat any chip, I'll be honest. I mean,
- 9:22Speaker 2: I'm a fan of all chips. Should we get some
- 9:24Speaker 2: chips then, guys? Yeah, it's your turn today. No, it's not.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Keezy stole yesterday. What are you talking about?
- 9:29Speaker 1: I didn't touch the ACC's chips.
- 9:31Speaker 2: Keezy, did you? Yeah, I did.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I was starving.
- 9:32Speaker 2: You're a shocking bastard.
- 9:33Speaker 1: But then I was like, you know what? I work
- 9:35Speaker 1: a lot for the ACC and I never steal them.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I certainly indulge when Jay steals them daily. Yeah, same, yeah.
- 9:40Speaker 1: But I was like, you know what? I think Mike Lane,
- 9:42Speaker 1: and I'll let him know as soon as he gets back.
- 9:44Speaker 2: But you've stolen a bag of chips.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Yeah, and I say, hey, man, I owe you.
- 9:47Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, four bucks.
- 9:48Speaker 1: No, I'll do like three or four live commentaries and
- 9:50Speaker 1: a couple of podcasts.
- 9:51Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and a couple of potties. Yeah, yeah, that'll
- 9:53Speaker 2: pay off a bag of chips. Fair enough. Yeah, good shit, man.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Good stuff. Yeah, I want to buy some chips, actually.
- 9:59Speaker 2: You know. I may. Two more sleeps, fellas. That's good, eh?
- 10:02Speaker 2: Two more sleeps, yep. I am excited about it. And
- 10:04Speaker 2: then we're oof.
- 10:06Speaker 1: So good.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah, man. I'm actually not excited about it. No, I
- 10:08Speaker 2: don't even care. I'd rather stay here, get rained on. Just, yeah.
- 10:15Speaker 2: You know what I mean, man? Yeah, I do. Good. Well, no, because.
- 10:19Speaker 1: You'd rather stay here and get rained on.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Because officially, of course, rainy season finishes on the 17th.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Spring finishes, yeah. So there's no more rain. No more rain.
- 10:28Speaker 2: So I'm anticipating next week's going to be bloody beautiful, man. Yeah.
- 10:32Speaker 3: In NZ.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. We'll be pissing down in Fiji. Oh, yeah,
- 10:35Speaker 2: it'll be shocking. It'll be following you around.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Fair pissing. Hey, listen to the big show, 4-7 weekdays
- 10:41Speaker 1: on Radio Hodaki. Thank you. Bye.
