- 0:14Speaker 1: politicians posturing for the midterm elections, the record number of
- 0:18Speaker 1: Republicans who are retiring right now, Americans who love their gasoline,
- 0:24Speaker 1: Melissa's Ai fruit, Telenevella's an interview with Afroman, the man
- 0:29Speaker 1: behind the titular song Lemon pound Cake, and I'm going
- 0:33Speaker 1: to answer all your burning questions from my DMS, so
- 0:35Speaker 1: stick around. The only thing I know about the Latter
- 0:39Speaker 1: Day Saints is like, what was on the commercial in
- 0:41Speaker 1: the nineties. Do you remember that, like the infomocials that
- 0:44Speaker 1: would come up? Well, since you've run it now, your
- 0:49Speaker 1: algorithm is going to be have you seen the podcast
- 0:52Speaker 1: of the Nuns. Let's get into a sidebar with the
- 0:55Speaker 1: nuns Podcastle's what's happening with the nuns in America? Because
- 0:59Speaker 1: there they taking a break from praying and podcasting. Everyone
- 1:03Speaker 1: has a podcast. Now there are these two nuns. I'm obsessed.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Are they inhabits and stuff? Yeah, they're in like the
- 1:09Speaker 1: full WHOOPI Goldberg. They're doing yes, sister, It's like, are
- 1:16Speaker 1: they being cheeky. It's edited to be cheeky. I don't
- 1:19Speaker 1: know if they're intentionally being Are we sure that they're nuns?
- 1:22Speaker 1: I mean I didn't, I didn't they say they're No,
- 1:24Speaker 1: they say they're nuns, and it's like a faith based podcast.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Oh okay, but they're they're always like sister tell me,
- 1:32Speaker 1: and they tell like modern woman's stories from from the habit. Okay, yeah,
- 1:39Speaker 1: I know you have a lot of non trauma from
- 1:41Speaker 1: your life, so it probably doesn't hit as hard. It's
- 1:44Speaker 1: like whatever. Anyway, So I used to I used to.
- 1:48Speaker 2: I worked someplace where the office manager had been a
- 1:53Speaker 2: nun and she became a nun because she was a
- 1:58Speaker 2: lesbian and she was much older.
- 2:00Speaker 1: And she had said that in her day, like when
- 2:04Speaker 1: she became a nun because she was a lesbian.
- 2:06Speaker 2: Yes, because her family would have expected her to get married.
- 2:09Speaker 2: So she was so she was like, I don't know
- 2:11Speaker 2: what I'm going to do, but I know for a
- 2:13Speaker 2: fact that I don't want to be with a man.
- 2:15Speaker 1: She was like, I'm a celebrity, Get me out of
- 2:16Speaker 1: here house. And she was like, so I'm going to
- 2:18Speaker 1: become a nun. Good for her?
- 2:20Speaker 2: And so you know, I can't remember how long she
- 2:23Speaker 2: wasn't nun for, but she said she met her first girlfriend, and.
- 2:29Speaker 1: I would watch that next heated Rivalry season two. Oh yeah,
- 2:33Speaker 1: back in the monastery? What is it?
- 2:35Speaker 2: There are probably a lot of former nuns had that experience,
- 2:39Speaker 2: right right?
- 2:40Speaker 1: Is there like an is there team at the nunnery where.
- 2:46Speaker 3: They maybe because that's the.
- 2:51Speaker 4: Want to watch.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I don't know, but I remember thinking that was really funny, like, oh, okay,
- 2:56Speaker 2: and she was.
- 2:57Speaker 1: She joined because she was like, I'm too gay. I'm
- 2:59Speaker 1: gonna yes, imagine joining the sisterhood to like meet a girl.
- 3:04Speaker 3: I mean that's a meet cue, isn't it? I would read, Yeah,
- 3:07Speaker 3: I mean it's I.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Am not surprised that, like nineteen fifty six that somebody
- 3:12Speaker 2: who was a lesbian or a gay man would be
- 3:15Speaker 2: like what am I going to do? I know, I'll
- 3:18Speaker 2: be I'll be, you know, particly in a religious order.
- 3:21Speaker 1: I was hooking up in college with one of the
- 3:24Speaker 1: guys who was like in the like religious studies program,
- 3:28Speaker 1: but he was just like studying it as like a scholar.
- 3:31Speaker 1: And I remember for like was he out? Yeah okay?
- 3:34Speaker 1: And I remember for spring break he went to a
- 3:37Speaker 1: monastery for like a week, and I was like, I
- 3:40Speaker 1: can't talk to my boyfriend. He's in the monastery. Wasn't
- 3:44Speaker 1: it like a do you remember if it was a
- 3:46Speaker 1: silent retreat? I think it was. I think it was
- 3:48Speaker 1: a silent end of mine.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Did a silent retreat. And he said that like day
- 3:53Speaker 2: it was for ten days. Day three, he said he
- 3:56Speaker 2: felt like he was losing his money. He said, fuck,
- 3:59Speaker 2: but he's stayed. He stayed, and he was really happy
- 4:02Speaker 2: that he did it.
- 4:04Speaker 1: But he was like it was fucking hard, like.
- 4:07Speaker 2: No books, no, no podcasting, no podcasting, miss us, no podcasting,
- 4:14Speaker 2: no no books, no books.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Oh, because some people move their lips when they read. No,
- 4:19Speaker 1: that's probably why they do that. Can I tell you
- 4:22Speaker 1: something When I was who was the worst? Remember when
- 4:26Speaker 1: you were a little kid.
- 4:27Speaker 2: I don't know if they If they did this when
- 4:28Speaker 2: you were a kid, you would have to read something
- 4:31Speaker 2: out loud, and everybody had a turn. So I always
- 4:34Speaker 2: read faster, right, because I used to really like to read.
- 4:37Speaker 2: So I would figure out where my poor heart, I
- 4:40Speaker 2: would figure out where my point was, and I would
- 4:42Speaker 2: like hold it and then if some kid whatever, I
- 4:46Speaker 2: won't even say the name because I was in trouble,
- 4:48Speaker 2: but like if some kid got stuck on a word,
- 4:51Speaker 2: I would like, let's say the word was hippopotamus and
- 4:54Speaker 2: the friend the kid was like, and I would and
- 5:00Speaker 2: so Melissa, you can't do that.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Sister Teresa was Sister.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Mary Claire Claire and I would get so mad when
- 5:10Speaker 2: the kid would.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Like, be on a word, and I'm just like you
- 5:15Speaker 1: freaking pet Anne. What just correcting all the kids that
- 5:18Speaker 1: I would do it all the time. And I remember
- 5:20Speaker 1: one time I asked the kids, I freaking know it all.
- 5:22Speaker 1: And you still to this day will be like I
- 5:24Speaker 1: told you, so, you still are. You've been that girl.
- 5:28Speaker 1: You've always been that girl. Yes, even in Sister Mary
- 5:31Speaker 1: Claire's class up. And so now I don't oh, I
- 5:34Speaker 1: make no, that's who I am. She's gonna correct you,
- 5:38Speaker 1: and I'm going to correct you and let the record reflect.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Let the record reflect.
- 5:42Speaker 2: And if you do something that I suggested that you
- 5:45Speaker 2: not do and it fucks up, I'm going to say
- 5:48Speaker 2: to you.
- 5:49Speaker 1: I told you Alyssa. I said, that's her all the time.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Should we call her, Let's see if she'll answer. She's
- 5:54Speaker 1: not going to answer. She's going to be somewhere. That's
- 5:57Speaker 1: the thing with Melissa, somewhere. She's not going to answer
- 6:02Speaker 1: because you know what, she's probably on a plane.
- 6:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 1: See, all right, she got a third concussion this year.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I know she did unbelievable. Asked.
- 6:12Speaker 2: I was like, why do you keep on hitting your head?
- 6:14Speaker 2: And she's like, I know it's not ideal.
- 6:19Speaker 3: I know it's not ideal.
- 6:21Speaker 1: So I got it out of her. I had to
- 6:22Speaker 1: pull out full litigation strategies just to get the information
- 6:26Speaker 1: out of her as to how she busted her head
- 6:29Speaker 1: for a third time. She walked into a glass door
- 6:32Speaker 1: in Miami.
- 6:34Speaker 3: It was her glass door in her home, in her house.
- 6:37Speaker 3: But let me take concerned about this is it is
- 6:40Speaker 3: never her fault. She she was like, my friend closed
- 6:44Speaker 3: the door. That door's always open. You leave the door
- 6:47Speaker 3: open in your house.
- 6:48Speaker 1: What do you text? I'm testing one USA immediately which door?
- 6:52Speaker 1: Like what I mean? Was it like it was like
- 6:55Speaker 1: the sliding glass door to the patio. Oh, and she
- 6:57Speaker 1: walked into it hit her head again. And I found
- 6:59Speaker 1: out about this because I called her and she was like,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I'm driving and everything's really blurry. I was like, unless
- 7:05Speaker 1: I get off the rope, pull over I have a neighbor.
- 7:08Speaker 2: I have a neighbor who I can't remember why. Oh,
- 7:11Speaker 2: he was upset because our building, we live in a condo,
- 7:14Speaker 2: our building would not let him get an e bike.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Oh because they explode or whatever. And he said, the right,
- 7:22Speaker 1: that's why.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Yeah, that's why I don't. E bikes explode a little
- 7:27Speaker 3: bit like the lithium battery. Yes, yes, wow.
- 7:31Speaker 2: And so he said that the reason why he wanted
- 7:33Speaker 2: an e bike was because the DMV. Wait, wait, wait,
- 7:37Speaker 2: the DMV was going to take away his driver's license
- 7:40Speaker 2: because his vision was going. No, when I tell you,
- 7:45Speaker 2: this man is still driving his car and I keep
- 7:48Speaker 2: on looking at him, like, what are you doing?
- 7:51Speaker 1: Oh no, no, it's going to be flying down the
- 7:55Speaker 1: road on an e bike. Maybe I don't know what's worse.
- 7:57Speaker 1: All of it is dangerous. You needship with uber or
- 8:02Speaker 1: or something. Get off the fucking road. But I remember.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Thinking before before my dad died, I was like, at
- 8:11Speaker 2: some point, we're going to have to take his keys
- 8:13Speaker 2: away from him and my you know what I'm saying, like,
- 8:15Speaker 2: just you know, he wasn't by the time he passed away,
- 8:17Speaker 2: he wasn't. Yeah, he wasn't there yet. But I remember
- 8:21Speaker 2: just like looking at my dad. I was driving behind
- 8:24Speaker 2: my dad once we were both going back to my parents' house.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, man, man man, oh h oh,
- 8:32Speaker 1: here we go. I remember driving around with my grandma
- 8:36Speaker 1: and and I don't even think I knew how to
- 8:39Speaker 1: drive yet. And I remember being like, this isn't how
- 8:41Speaker 1: it's supposed to go. I don't think this is right.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I don't think this is how you're supposed to park
- 8:47Speaker 1: this car. I remember being like ten and being like that,
- 8:50Speaker 1: that's not the way. You do know how that works.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I don't want to be a backseat driver, however, Yeah, yeah,
- 8:55Speaker 1: that's not how. I did have a yah Yah, but
- 8:58Speaker 1: she was my great auntie was Yaya, but my grandmother
- 9:01Speaker 1: is my grandmother. But Greek people have yayas, yeah, and Yaya.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Towards the end, my mom would have to teach me
- 9:06Speaker 1: how to make Yaya's cocktails because what was Yaya's cocktail?
- 9:09Speaker 1: It's usually vodka water with ice, but towards the end, vodka,
- 9:13Speaker 1: like just vodka and water with ice, yeah, in a bieball.
- 9:17Speaker 1: But and I was I was little, and so they
- 9:19Speaker 1: would have me as the bartender. And so because they
- 9:22Speaker 1: wouldn't have to pay you, so, but Yaya. What they
- 9:27Speaker 1: would do is, towards the end she couldn't drink. She
- 9:31Speaker 1: wasn't supposed to drink that much on all their medications.
- 9:34Speaker 1: They would have me just put a little bit of
- 9:35Speaker 1: vodka on the top of the glass of water so
- 9:38Speaker 1: that when she sipped it tasted like vodka, but it
- 9:40Speaker 1: was really mostly water, mostly water.
- 9:42Speaker 2: I have a relative who does that with her husband.
- 9:44Speaker 2: She adds water to the wine so that he water
- 9:50Speaker 2: sit down, water down.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And I'm like, he doesn't, doesn't he know? And she
- 9:55Speaker 1: was like no, there's a TikTok this week that really
- 9:57Speaker 1: sent me to Jupiter. This girl was like, I know,
- 10:00Speaker 1: they're watering down the gasoline at the they're watering down
- 10:04Speaker 1: the gasoline with her on because it tastes different.
- 10:07Speaker 5: Oh bitch, this is what I'm saying. Girl, like I
- 10:16Speaker 5: weep for our nation, Like what is happening? She was like,
- 10:19Speaker 5: it tastes different than the war, Like it's funny.
- 10:26Speaker 1: But I'm also like, sugar, what did she really? I
- 10:29Speaker 1: think she was really joking. Oh yeah, you see that
- 10:32Speaker 1: show My Weird Addiction where she's eating the sofa cushion
- 10:36Speaker 1: and she was, I didn't. And they're always, they're always
- 10:41Speaker 1: the doctor is always sitting across from them like this.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I have to tell you my strange addictions. Yeah, yeah,
- 10:50Speaker 1: the doctor sitting across I have to tell you. The
- 10:55Speaker 1: sofa cushion. If you keep eating it, it is gonna
- 10:57Speaker 1: you're gonna have kidney failure and you'll die. And the
- 11:00Speaker 1: person's always like shocked. I couldn't munch, munch, munch, nibbling away.
- 11:05Speaker 1: What do you mean the cup of bleach I drank
- 11:07Speaker 1: this morning.
- 11:08Speaker 2: This is not a show that I watched, but my
- 11:11Speaker 2: friend watched it and she made me watch a couple
- 11:13Speaker 2: of episodes with her. But the one episode that I
- 11:16Speaker 2: will never forget was this woman her husband had passed
- 11:20Speaker 2: away and some of the ashes spilled and she started
- 11:24Speaker 2: eating it.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Okay, we're going to take a break. To god, I
- 11:28Speaker 1: know it's fucking gross.
- 11:29Speaker 2: And her whole thing was like she was afraid to
- 11:32Speaker 2: like run out, don't like throw it away, Like I
- 11:34Speaker 2: don't know what happened. The urn or whatever tipped over
- 11:38Speaker 2: and she like tried to sweep it up and was like,
- 11:42Speaker 2: I don't.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Know, Okay, I don't know. If she's said I don't.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I don't remember. Ashes tastes like ash whatever. Ash tastes
- 11:48Speaker 1: like a man.
- 11:49Speaker 2: People are not okay, that's not as why people are not.
- 11:52Speaker 2: I mean this, why are you eating your sofa?
- 11:54Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 11:55Speaker 2: I mean like, what's what is happening right? What is
- 11:58Speaker 2: happening in the home.
- 11:59Speaker 1: What's happened? What's happening in the home? Nothing good? What's
- 12:05Speaker 1: happening in my home? Actually this is not helping because
- 12:08Speaker 1: my stomach is already a little bit weird. Why because
- 12:11Speaker 1: Brad cooked and that's the thing, and this his last
- 12:15Speaker 1: rites okay, because he was like, oh, I want to
- 12:18Speaker 1: make a red sauce, like like like pasta. At two
- 12:23Speaker 1: in the morning, I'm texting Charmaine I don't feel good
- 12:26Speaker 1: because I called her when he was cooking, because I
- 12:28Speaker 1: was like, please help me, Please keep me from going
- 12:31Speaker 1: in the kitchen to fix whatever. He we know he's
- 12:34Speaker 1: not doing it right right, And she was like, don't
- 12:37Speaker 1: go in there. No, he would never watch anything I'm
- 12:40Speaker 1: a part of. Go ahead. So she's like, don't go
- 12:43Speaker 1: in there and and interrupt his flow. And so at
- 12:47Speaker 1: two in the morning, I was texting her. I was like,
- 12:48Speaker 1: I don't feel good. Is it something. Something is a
- 12:51Speaker 1: miss in the what what do you think he did?
- 12:54Speaker 1: I honestly don't want to know. I want to just
- 12:56Speaker 1: recover and move on with stomach to be better. Okay,
- 13:03Speaker 1: that's why. That's why I'm drinking a full fat coke
- 13:06Speaker 1: and crackers today. That's what I've been eating. When was
- 13:10Speaker 1: this last night?
- 13:11Speaker 6: Oh?
- 13:11Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, what's going on in the home? What's going
- 13:15Speaker 1: on in the home, Bradley? What'd you put in the sauce?
- 13:17Speaker 1: I don't know. Let's take it put in the gravy.
- 13:22Speaker 1: This is your algorithm is showing what's happening in your feed.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Because the news has been freaky, deeky, wick, wicked and wild.
- 13:29Speaker 1: It has It's been Action Park DC. Bless you, it's
- 13:34Speaker 1: been an Action Park DC. It's allergy season. Actually, we've
- 13:37Speaker 1: got to sneeze in the studio or.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Maybe they feel uncomfortable so they sneezed. Stop anyway, go ahead.
- 13:50Speaker 1: I feel really left out. I can't take sneeze. Yes
- 13:53Speaker 1: you can. Oh, that's terrible. That was the best I
- 13:57Speaker 1: could do.
- 13:57Speaker 6: That.
- 13:57Speaker 1: You need to work on. I'm gonna have at some
- 13:59Speaker 1: point during recording the show one week, I will real
- 14:03Speaker 1: sneeze because I went to the allergist. They did the test, everything,
- 14:09Speaker 1: they left and came back and they were like, oh
- 14:11Speaker 1: my god, they had to like do triage because my
- 14:15Speaker 1: whole arm was like swollen. They were like, you're allergic
- 14:19Speaker 1: to every type of tree pollen. And I was like,
- 14:21Speaker 1: you didn't want to ease into it.
- 14:23Speaker 4: You didn't do it.
- 14:24Speaker 1: They do the whole thing. You want to do everything.
- 14:26Speaker 4: Yeah, I know.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Yeah, so I have to take crazy allergy medications. But anyway,
- 14:32Speaker 1: speaking of things I'm allergic to, we should talk too,
- 14:35Speaker 1: we should talk about what the Senate approved legislation to
- 14:39Speaker 1: fund all of DHS except ICE and CBP. And then
- 14:44Speaker 1: the House was like, no, they just like shut it
- 14:47Speaker 1: down really fast. Are we surprised? I wasn't surprised that
- 14:52Speaker 1: we're still in a shutdown, Like that's not surprising to me.
- 14:55Speaker 1: There was a flurry of activity where I just imagine
- 14:58Speaker 1: like papers flying like running. Sen it quickly passed it,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and then they were just bolted to the airport to
- 15:05Speaker 1: leave for the week for recess. So they bolted to
- 15:08Speaker 1: the airport and then sort of like it seems like
- 15:11Speaker 1: they just left a turd on the door doorstep of
- 15:14Speaker 1: and lit it on fire. Yeah, they did, like at
- 15:18Speaker 1: the at the House and the House.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:21Speaker 1: And then I mean, I think a lot of what's
- 15:23Speaker 1: happening in DC right now is people are just doing
- 15:25Speaker 1: really petty things at our expense as citizens, so that
- 15:30Speaker 1: they have talking points in the midterm elections. Yeah. So
- 15:33Speaker 1: they did this, left it with the House knowing they
- 15:36Speaker 1: probably would never approve it, and then they were the
- 15:39Speaker 1: House Republicans were like, we don't approve We're not going
- 15:44Speaker 1: to improve this whatsoever.
- 15:45Speaker 2: So we're in the same situation and it's and travel
- 15:48Speaker 2: is getting worse for people, right.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I guess it did score some political points for the
- 15:52Speaker 1: campaign trail for Democrats in the midterms to be able
- 15:56Speaker 1: to say, look, they didn't pass. They were we're given
- 16:00Speaker 1: the opportunity to reopen the airports and they didn't, and
- 16:02Speaker 1: they chose to say they chose not to. And they
- 16:04Speaker 1: all did have to go on the record. I mean,
- 16:06Speaker 1: they have a press conference and said like, we are
- 16:08Speaker 1: absolutely not agreeing to all of this. But I don't know,
- 16:11Speaker 1: what do you think about it? Because I have very
- 16:12Speaker 1: specific opinions because it's like ice funding.
- 16:14Speaker 2: And again, I just think that every day something new
- 16:19Speaker 2: happens that tells me that these people don't really care
- 16:23Speaker 2: about what happens to the people in this country, right,
- 16:25Speaker 2: They're so focused on winning getting their way that there
- 16:30Speaker 2: is no compromise.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Like for me, it just feels so profoundly selfish. Yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 1: I think it's like, hey, it's very selfish. It's like,
- 16:43Speaker 1: every single time we come up against this, it's like
- 16:46Speaker 1: we are again in a place where the system that
- 16:50Speaker 1: was set up hundreds of years ago is not serving
- 16:52Speaker 1: us in modern society. And we have congressmen and men
- 16:56Speaker 1: and women who are been in Congress forever, or Susan
- 17:00Speaker 1: Collins who is a Democrat and supposed to be a
- 17:04Speaker 1: Democrat but then votes every time we try yeah, and
- 17:07Speaker 1: has like a she literally has a magat with it.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I was reading today that Republican a record number of
- 17:15Speaker 1: Republicans are retiring before the midterm elections. ABC reported on this.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Since nineteen thirty, there's almost one hundred years. There have
- 17:26Speaker 1: never been this many Republicans retiring before a midterm election.
- 17:29Speaker 1: Why what do you think that's about. I think they
- 17:32Speaker 1: know they're about to get walloped, they're about to get
- 17:35Speaker 1: dog walked in the midterms, and I think that everyone's
- 17:40Speaker 1: trying to save face rather than spend all the money
- 17:43Speaker 1: to lose and then be a big, fat loser. They're like,
- 17:48Speaker 1: all right, I'm going to wait five years and run
- 17:51Speaker 1: again in twenty what would it be twenty thirty. Let's
- 17:55Speaker 1: just wait and see it's easier to do that. Go
- 17:59Speaker 1: on the speaking circuit. I want to write a book.
- 18:02Speaker 2: I wonder if people will remember what they didn't do.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Do you know what I'm saying? Like, do you know
- 18:08Speaker 2: you had the opportunity to put the country back together
- 18:11Speaker 2: again at the very least, you know the airport's running
- 18:14Speaker 2: appropriately again, and instead you decided not to because you're
- 18:18Speaker 2: being petty. And now you realize you're probably not going
- 18:21Speaker 2: to win, so you're going to quit. You're not going
- 18:24Speaker 2: to run again. You're not going to quit, but you're
- 18:26Speaker 2: not going to run again. And now that this sort
- 18:30Speaker 2: of things have settled down, then you're going to go
- 18:33Speaker 2: back and try and run again.
- 18:34Speaker 1: I will say the one thing, yeah, that people do
- 18:40Speaker 1: not forget in this country, and it may seem really
- 18:43Speaker 1: weird to you and me, gas prices. If you had
- 18:47Speaker 1: some sort of effect on the gas prices as a politician,
- 18:51Speaker 1: they will eat you up. No, crumbs absolutely gobble you up,
- 18:57Speaker 1: miss Piggy. What if it say about no? I mean literally,
- 19:02Speaker 1: if it's like a quarter, They're like, get him. What
- 19:06Speaker 1: did it say about though?
- 19:08Speaker 6: That?
- 19:08Speaker 2: Like that's gonna be the thing, Not kids being killed
- 19:13Speaker 2: in school, not gun control.
- 19:15Speaker 1: No, the gas Americans. If you fuck with their gas prices,
- 19:20Speaker 1: they snap off the nails, they take off the earrings,
- 19:23Speaker 1: macline on the base, they take the folding chair, laplancha,
- 19:27Speaker 1: they go, they go luccharto on you if you fuck
- 19:32Speaker 1: with the gas prices even a little bit. Did you
- 19:34Speaker 1: see that interview with the woman at She was at
- 19:37Speaker 1: the pump and she was like this like a local
- 19:41Speaker 1: reporter was interviewing her and they were like, so what
- 19:45Speaker 1: do you think about what Trump is doing in Iran?
- 19:49Speaker 1: And she tore into this man. If you could say
- 19:53Speaker 1: something the president's tump, he was gonna hear you right now,
- 19:56Speaker 1: what would be? You're a worseless tile of this woman.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I think I want to say it was in Philly
- 20:03Speaker 1: or Pittsburgh.
- 20:04Speaker 3: It was.
- 20:04Speaker 1: It was definitely one of these cities in America where
- 20:10Speaker 1: they will beat you to death with a sock filled
- 20:12Speaker 1: with batteries, you know, like it's one of those towns.
- 20:15Speaker 1: And so she was like, and I voted for him
- 20:19Speaker 1: three times and I She's like, and that's my bad.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Oh I did see her so on me. She's got
- 20:28Speaker 1: the sunglasses on and she's next to her aunt. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:38Speaker 1: it's like this woman. But it's true, that is what
- 20:40Speaker 1: I think. We're in a bubble, right, Like we live
- 20:42Speaker 1: in New York, for sure. Most of the people we
- 20:44Speaker 1: know are on the coast. Yes, a lot. There are
- 20:46Speaker 1: a lot of people in America who fifty cents at
- 20:50Speaker 1: the pump is a huge deal. They've got to drive
- 20:52Speaker 1: to work, they've got to drive to pick the kids up.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Like people really really care about the gas prices. They do.
- 20:58Speaker 2: They do in American's love cars, right, and they spend
- 21:01Speaker 2: so much time in their cars. And you know, now
- 21:04Speaker 2: the things that let's say you couldn't afford to go on,
- 21:07Speaker 2: like a vacation where everybody gets on a plane and
- 21:09Speaker 2: goes someplace, but you would like drive to your grandmother's
- 21:12Speaker 2: house or take a road trip. And now that is
- 21:16Speaker 2: it's cost prohibitive.
- 21:17Speaker 1: You can't. They can't do it like they used to.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And also, like there's something about the inconvenience of transport,
- 21:24Speaker 1: whether it's the subway, the bus, the car, the bike.
- 21:27Speaker 1: The second it's like remotely interrupted. It is the thing
- 21:30Speaker 1: we're doing to get to the place. It's like an
- 21:33Speaker 1: It is not joyous. Transportation is never any type planes, whatever.
- 21:40Speaker 1: It's a means to an end. We're trying to get
- 21:42Speaker 1: to a place to do a thing. It's usually to
- 21:44Speaker 1: make money, because we're all stuck in a capitalist healthscape, right, Like,
- 21:47Speaker 1: it's never it's very rarely for pleasure. I mean, you're
- 21:51Speaker 1: going someplace because you have to go. So when that
- 21:53Speaker 1: shit gets interrupted, are a little bit more expensive, you're like,
- 21:57Speaker 1: are you fucking now? It's just it adds to it.
- 22:01Speaker 1: It does my bike. Someone locked my bike to their
- 22:05Speaker 1: bike accidentally. Oh no, town and soho. I know this
- 22:10Speaker 1: is different than the plight of working class America spending
- 22:14Speaker 1: more money at the pump. But I did someone bike.
- 22:19Speaker 1: That's how you get around, and that's how I get
- 22:21Speaker 1: around everywhere. Yeah, and so all weekend I went. So
- 22:24Speaker 1: I went to this party on Thursday night and I
- 22:26Speaker 1: tied up my bike. Have you been visiting your bike?
- 22:28Speaker 1: Did you get your bike bike? Melissa? I've been visiting it. Yeah,
- 22:30Speaker 1: and I've been putting flowers at a spare site. Like, Yeah,
- 22:34Speaker 1: I've had to go back like three or four days
- 22:37Speaker 1: in a row, because in New York City, your bike
- 22:39Speaker 1: survives maybe twenty four hours chained ab outside. Then people
- 22:43Speaker 1: start taking shit off it, so the wheels are gone
- 22:45Speaker 1: and things just start disappearing. I mean, you should have
- 22:49Speaker 1: just gotten a bolt cutter. It's a giant. It's it's
- 22:53Speaker 1: a huge I would need like an actual electric saw
- 22:57Speaker 1: to get through this lock. Okay. So and so I've
- 23:01Speaker 1: been going every day. You still don't have it back.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I've been biking. I finally got it back yesterday, but
- 23:06Speaker 1: it was four days without my bike, and.
- 23:08Speaker 2: I was just showed up and it was untethered, like
- 23:11Speaker 2: the person had taken the lock off.
- 23:13Speaker 1: My lock was still locked, but they went over my
- 23:16Speaker 1: lock and left it there for days. I was like,
- 23:19Speaker 1: this person has some nerve and they and they don't
- 23:22Speaker 1: go anywhere, and they don't where are you? Yeah, don't
- 23:25Speaker 1: you have anything to do? I finally got it back,
- 23:28Speaker 1: and then I get a text message from the girl
- 23:31Speaker 1: who sells me my glasses okay at the store. Yeah,
- 23:37Speaker 1: she sent me a photo of me trying to unbuckle
- 23:39Speaker 1: my bike. So instead of being helpful, she was just
- 23:44Speaker 1: recording yours.
- 23:45Speaker 7: This You.
- 23:48Speaker 1: Just like me picking a fucking lock on the size,
- 23:52Speaker 1: sitting on the sidewalk, and so were you crying? I
- 23:54Speaker 1: was like, you just saw me on the street and
- 23:57Speaker 1: kept going. I kept going, Yeah, anyway, that's my algorithm
- 24:02Speaker 1: for this week. Wait, what's in your algorithm? Photo for me?
- 24:06Speaker 1: What is in my algorithm? You didn't say, Well, well,
- 24:10Speaker 1: like a disease. It's been infected by someone who's sending
- 24:14Speaker 1: me Ai fruit videos Melissa, the only Ai fruit videos
- 24:20Speaker 1: I want to see?
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yeah, which Ai fruit videos do you need to see?
- 24:25Speaker 1: Actually?
- 24:25Speaker 4: None? Yeah.
- 24:26Speaker 1: I was just gonna say, I don't think there's any.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I know I'm not alone. Last week, for some reason,
- 24:34Speaker 2: all of a sudden, I started saying.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I know, we're not alone. We stand in solidarity with Melissa.
- 24:39Speaker 2: All of a sudden, I started seeing like these weird
- 24:41Speaker 2: AI vegetable soap operas. Now a lot more have come out,
- 24:47Speaker 2: and I'm losing interest. Like I will say, so it
- 24:50Speaker 2: did last very long season two. Yeah, yeah, but describe for.
- 24:54Speaker 1: The people at home who have taste, You have no
- 24:56Speaker 1: idea what this is? Fuck off? So the one that
- 25:00Speaker 1: I saw that really pulled me in. I hit myself.
- 25:07Speaker 1: It was a broccoli and the broccoli.
- 25:10Speaker 2: The broccoli was an old woman who's sixty years old,
- 25:12Speaker 2: because she keeps on saying, oh my god, I'm sixty
- 25:14Speaker 2: years old, who had an affair with a carrot and
- 25:20Speaker 2: she has a baby.
- 25:22Speaker 1: And my question was, how can a carrot and a
- 25:26Speaker 1: broccoli have a baby? And the baby is a broccoli
- 25:29Speaker 1: like wild.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Specie, And for some reason she's she's like really embarrassed
- 25:36Speaker 2: that she's had this broccoli baby. This, yeah, this broccoli baby,
- 25:39Speaker 2: and she throws it in the dumpster.
- 25:41Speaker 1: In fantasize, Yes, in fantasize, but the.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Broccoli baby is rescued by the old homeless potato woman.
- 25:52Speaker 4: Imagine.
- 25:53Speaker 1: I'm just imagining the backstage casting call homeless potato woman
- 25:58Speaker 1: seeking voice for homeless potato whe I don't.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Know, it's just and now they're getting like more like spicy, right,
- 26:07Speaker 2: So like there's a banana who's having a threesome with
- 26:13Speaker 2: some black beans. Oh and this is what happened either,
- 26:21Speaker 2: So I can't remember if it doesn't matter, I can't
- 26:23Speaker 2: remember if the banana wait, I don't remember if the
- 26:25Speaker 2: banana is male or female. But it doesn't matter because
- 26:27Speaker 2: then the spouse of the banana, who I think is
- 26:30Speaker 2: a strawberry.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Thank you for using the gender neutral term. I wouldn't
- 26:34Speaker 1: want this to ever get well, whatever doesn't matter.
- 26:37Speaker 2: I would have never want us to get canceled for
- 26:38Speaker 2: the ai fruit. And somehow the strawberry and the banana
- 26:43Speaker 2: get into it. She throws I think the banana gets
- 26:47Speaker 2: thrown out, and now the strawberry is having an affair
- 26:50Speaker 2: with the beans.
- 26:51Speaker 1: This is the days of our lives. Yes, and let
- 26:53Speaker 1: me tell you the reason why it's getting spicier is
- 26:55Speaker 1: because you're interacting with it. And now this ai bot
- 26:59Speaker 1: is creating more and more insane shit. It's absolutely wild.
- 27:03Speaker 1: A couple of beans and a banana. It's three beans,
- 27:07Speaker 1: that is, that's polyamory.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I mean that's but also like the beans are like
- 27:13Speaker 2: very muscular.
- 27:14Speaker 1: For some reason, I feel like this is like this
- 27:16Speaker 1: is vegan porn, Like I feel like the vegans are
- 27:18Speaker 1: watching this and getting off so fucking weird. But I
- 27:21Speaker 1: can't stop watching it.
- 27:23Speaker 2: Although I did say I put it to the side
- 27:25Speaker 2: and it's enough because the beans, the three beans and
- 27:29Speaker 2: the banana was too much for me.
- 27:31Speaker 1: It was too much for me.
- 27:32Speaker 2: So that's what's been in my algorithm. I need something else.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I want something else.
- 27:38Speaker 1: We'll get you. I'll start sending you something. Lastly, I
- 27:41Speaker 1: do have an update on the needles. Okay, I'm riveted.
- 27:47Speaker 1: I went back to the store because I saw my niece.
- 27:49Speaker 1: She took me to the Slime Museum of New York. Actually, no,
- 27:54Speaker 1: put some respect on their name. Slime Institute. Okay, sorry, Yeah,
- 27:58Speaker 1: I know there's a lot of reasons sarch happening at
- 28:00Speaker 1: this slime people. Yes, And so before we went, I
- 28:05Speaker 1: was like, you know what, let me check the store
- 28:08Speaker 1: for the need the needle. Let me go back to
- 28:10Speaker 1: the local toy store. I get there and there's a
- 28:14Speaker 1: new sign on the door. Oh, Michael, what does it say?
- 28:18Speaker 1: It says, if you're reading this, No, it's what does
- 28:22Speaker 1: it say, there's a nuke aimed for your face? Shut up?
- 28:27Speaker 1: All right? No new sign it says we still don't
- 28:32Speaker 1: have the needles. No one can find the FedEx box.
- 28:37Speaker 1: We've called them multiple times, like no, long, now it's
- 28:41Speaker 1: not Now it's not a sign on the door. Now
- 28:43Speaker 1: it's a missive Like what is going on.
- 28:46Speaker 4: The whole thing?
- 28:47Speaker 1: There's a whole thing because people are still harassing this
- 28:50Speaker 1: woman for these needles. And I asked my sister and
- 28:54Speaker 1: she said that my niece has her driving all over
- 28:56Speaker 1: Long Island looking for them, and they're nowhere to be found.
- 28:58Speaker 2: You know, when I was a kid, if we played
- 29:01Speaker 2: with rocks, well yeah, literally, no one give a shit
- 29:04Speaker 2: about us. But like when I was a kid, if
- 29:05Speaker 2: I wanted something, granted, nothing ever went this crazy. I
- 29:10Speaker 2: mean Cabbage Patch kids, but I don't know. My parents
- 29:13Speaker 2: would just say no, and I'd be like, okay. It's like,
- 29:17Speaker 2: you know, I've had this conversation with people. I grew
- 29:20Speaker 2: up in a house with guns, and the guns just listen,
- 29:23Speaker 2: my dad used to hunt.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Okay, sorry he went from being told no to guns, well, yes,
- 29:28Speaker 1: because I'll tell you why.
- 29:29Speaker 2: And because my dad used to go hunting and his
- 29:32Speaker 2: rifles were in his closet. They were not locked up,
- 29:36Speaker 2: the bullets were right there. And my dad said, was
- 29:40Speaker 2: this in New York or okay? Here here and in
- 29:42Speaker 2: Haiti but here and he said don't touch it.
- 29:47Speaker 1: And I didn't touch it. Like you know what I'm saying.
- 29:50Speaker 2: My parents would say no to stuff and I'd be
- 29:53Speaker 2: like okay, and now, when I got older, I would
- 29:56Speaker 2: argue with them. But when I was a kid, no no,
- 29:59Speaker 2: I said, no, okay, and I would cry. But like whatever,
- 30:04Speaker 2: my mother never would have taken me in the car
- 30:06Speaker 2: trapesing around the streets of Long Island to look for
- 30:09Speaker 2: this fucking slink.
- 30:10Speaker 1: It's the new generation. Slinky, slinky slinky. Melissa sent me
- 30:16Speaker 1: a photo of her confirmation this weekend is crazy.
- 30:21Speaker 2: I had braces and straight hair, and it was one
- 30:25Speaker 2: of those pictures where you know the double picture where
- 30:28Speaker 2: there's like you're looking straight and then the other you
- 30:31Speaker 2: was looking that way, and.
- 30:34Speaker 1: It was like modern photography. I think it was. I
- 30:38Speaker 1: think it was for my confirmation, the ghost of you
- 30:41Speaker 1: looking over the shoulder. It is so funny. It was
- 30:44Speaker 1: so funny for your confirmation. Yeah, all right, let's take
- 30:48Speaker 1: a break. This is under Oath. We're going to get
- 30:53Speaker 1: into a deep dive on an awesome topic in the
- 30:56Speaker 1: news right now. I'm really excited we have Afro joining us.
- 31:01Speaker 1: It's going to be so such a great interview. Afroman
- 31:05Speaker 1: is the Grammy nominated musician for his song Because I
- 31:08Speaker 1: Got High. It's about life in a hot air balloon.
- 31:12Speaker 1: It was released in two thousand and two, and he's
- 31:14Speaker 1: back now with his titular song Lemon pound Cake, which
- 31:20Speaker 1: is not about running a small bakery. It is not,
- 31:23Speaker 1: it's not. He joins us today to discuss how a
- 31:26Speaker 1: local sheriff's department rated his house under false pretenses and
- 31:31Speaker 1: then tried to play the victim and sue him for defamation.
- 31:34Speaker 1: And it's a case they recently lost, very famously all
- 31:38Speaker 1: over the headlines last week. So we are thrilled to
- 31:42Speaker 1: welcome Afroman too brief recess. Yay, Afroman. I have to
- 31:47Speaker 1: tell you my birthday is four twenty and the number
- 31:51Speaker 1: of people that forget to wish me happy birthday because
- 31:54Speaker 1: they're so high. I'm looking at you, Grandma.
- 31:58Speaker 6: I think I just my drop at fortnite too, just
- 32:00Speaker 6: after this conversation.
- 32:02Speaker 1: That's a good idea. Please do.
- 32:06Speaker 4: Well.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Congratulations on your winn in court. We wanted to talk
- 32:08Speaker 1: to you a little bit today about your win. I
- 32:12Speaker 1: just can do a quick update for everyone. Afroman. His
- 32:16Speaker 1: home was broken into by police who were conducting a
- 32:19Speaker 1: raid based off false information. Isn't that right?
- 32:22Speaker 4: Yes, sir.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Thereafter, because they destroyed your property and ate your cake,
- 32:26Speaker 1: you wrote an album inspired by that experience, right, you
- 32:31Speaker 1: really turned lemon into lemonade actially, right, yes, And so
- 32:36Speaker 1: could you tell us a little bit more about that,
- 32:38Speaker 1: tell us about your experience and your court case and
- 32:41Speaker 1: sort of what happened.
- 32:42Speaker 4: The cops right in my house.
- 32:44Speaker 6: You know, they have authority and power and I don't
- 32:49Speaker 6: have any They took advantage of that authority in power
- 32:54Speaker 6: and they e vandalize the place. And then they were
- 32:58Speaker 6: kind of cheerful and unapologetic about the destruction they left, right.
- 33:07Speaker 6: It kind of brought a little delight to their souls
- 33:10Speaker 6: that they that they destroyed my house. Even though they
- 33:12Speaker 6: didn't find nothing, they kind of got to kick and
- 33:15Speaker 6: destroy and everything. So anyway, I know you need police
- 33:19Speaker 6: in society. I mean, society needs a scarecrow. The bad
- 33:23Speaker 6: man needs to wake up and know that there is
- 33:25Speaker 6: consequences for his bad actions. So even if a police
- 33:29Speaker 6: officer didn't do anything, we need like a society scarecrow.
- 33:34Speaker 4: Sure, police officers at the.
- 33:36Speaker 6: Same time, you know, when people do wrong, they need
- 33:40Speaker 6: to be checked. Yeah, I thought about everything. They didn't
- 33:43Speaker 6: want to help me with the damages, so I make
- 33:46Speaker 6: money wrapping, so I didn't want to spend my because
- 33:49Speaker 6: I got high money paying for police damage. So I
- 33:54Speaker 6: thought I would write an album about the police officers
- 33:58Speaker 6: and let my story about them hey for their damage
- 34:04Speaker 6: that they brought to my house. That was my solution.
- 34:07Speaker 6: I didn't want to go down to the police department
- 34:09Speaker 6: and throw trash cans up against the door and get
- 34:13Speaker 6: arrested in the lawn and get taken in the jail
- 34:15Speaker 6: and get epstein. So I thought the most positive, constructive
- 34:19Speaker 6: thing I could do was to make money off the situation.
- 34:22Speaker 6: I thought about my life, and I thought about how
- 34:25Speaker 6: I sung my way through all my problems. I was
- 34:27Speaker 6: going to clean my room, but then I got hired.
- 34:30Speaker 6: You know, like, that song is not funny. I made
- 34:34Speaker 6: it funny after I put it on a piece of paper. Yeah,
- 34:37Speaker 6: and I let everybody laugh at my heartache and my disappointments.
- 34:40Speaker 6: And it turned funny with strength and time. But it
- 34:45Speaker 6: wasn't fun at first. But I remember how that song
- 34:49Speaker 6: helped me get through those bad times. So in other words,
- 34:53Speaker 6: in my life, I have rapped and sung my way
- 34:55Speaker 6: through my problems. So this is like another little thing,
- 35:00Speaker 6: you know. Okay, all right, I'm gonna just make a
- 35:01Speaker 6: little song about these cops. And they got songs out
- 35:05Speaker 6: there like F the Police and I'm Gonna kill it.
- 35:07Speaker 4: Ic got cockyled. I didn't. I have never said F
- 35:11Speaker 4: the police. Man.
- 35:12Speaker 6: Police officers take pictures with me all day long. They
- 35:15Speaker 6: come over me with slices of lemon pound cake, they smiling,
- 35:18Speaker 6: you know, you know, hey, hey, hey, So I never
- 35:20Speaker 6: said fuck the police, and none of that. I called
- 35:22Speaker 6: them out by name. I found out who they were,
- 35:26Speaker 6: and I didn't even say fuck them. I just said,
- 35:28Speaker 6: you know, you really like my mom's lemon pound cake.
- 35:31Speaker 6: Look how you're looking at it, you know. And I
- 35:35Speaker 6: sold the records. They got a lot of they got
- 35:37Speaker 6: a lot of attention, not that much money. It's hard
- 35:40Speaker 6: to make It's hard to make money off of records
- 35:43Speaker 6: in you know, this side of two thousand. You know,
- 35:47Speaker 6: I was the first rapper to go viral, but that
- 35:49Speaker 6: was the beginning of artists getting ripped off. Like yeah,
- 35:54Speaker 6: the reason why I didn't go platinum is people didn't
- 35:57Speaker 6: have to pay for my record.
- 35:58Speaker 4: The whole world had it, and the body nobody want to.
- 36:01Speaker 4: They was like file share.
- 36:02Speaker 6: And they was just laughing at me in the street,
- 36:03Speaker 6: like I got your whole album free, dude, like you anyway,
- 36:07Speaker 6: blah blah.
- 36:09Speaker 4: So it didn't make that much.
- 36:11Speaker 6: Money record wise, you know, but I.
- 36:16Speaker 4: Think it paid for the damage.
- 36:18Speaker 6: The cops gave me about fourteen to thirty thousand dollars
- 36:21Speaker 6: worth of damage to my house, And last time I
- 36:24Speaker 6: looked at my royalty statements two three years ago, I
- 36:28Speaker 6: think I had them sold about like twenty five thirty
- 36:34Speaker 6: thousand dollars worth of lemon poundcake.
- 36:37Speaker 1: A lot of people don't know this, but you don't.
- 36:40Speaker 1: If the police damage your house while they are trying
- 36:43Speaker 1: to execute a search warren or are searching for evidence
- 36:48Speaker 1: or something, a lot of them, most people don't get
- 36:50Speaker 1: that money back. So in this case, you sued or
- 36:54Speaker 1: they sued you because you made this album about them,
- 36:58Speaker 1: and then you just won this case in court. Yes,
- 37:02Speaker 1: so you just won. I think it was last week.
- 37:05Speaker 1: What has life been like seven days?
- 37:07Speaker 6: Right?
- 37:07Speaker 1: How do you feel like?
- 37:08Speaker 2: What's the feeling like once once that sort of judgment
- 37:12Speaker 2: came in and you realize that you had won.
- 37:14Speaker 1: How did you feel?
- 37:15Speaker 4: So many different ways?
- 37:17Speaker 6: You know, like I felt like everything was a was
- 37:20Speaker 6: one of those weird lessons in disguises, like the Lord
- 37:24Speaker 6: works in mysterious ways, like the whail threw up and
- 37:28Speaker 6: Jonah was just in NINEV. You know what I'm saying,
- 37:33Speaker 6: It's like some stuff like that, Dude.
- 37:34Speaker 1: Like I can't do It's some old Testament shit.
- 37:37Speaker 6: I'm not I'm not an angel. I'm not super religious.
- 37:42Speaker 1: The Book of Afroman, Yes, I.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Guess you know.
- 37:45Speaker 6: God, you know from what I read and hear, God
- 37:48Speaker 6: infinite Jesus to see if he could give the average
- 37:53Speaker 6: human being faith. You hear what I'm saying, right, Yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 6: So he had to test drive Jesus before he sent
- 38:00Speaker 6: him into the public. So he made Jesus, he got baptized,
- 38:04Speaker 6: and then he said Jesus was led by the spirit
- 38:07Speaker 6: into the wilderness. I don't know if you guys are
- 38:09Speaker 6: familiar with that little sentence. I'm not a part of
- 38:13Speaker 6: the Lord's prayer or the daily prayer we supposed to pray.
- 38:17Speaker 6: Is you guys have probably heard that. Everybody stand up.
- 38:19Speaker 4: They go, our father, Jesus told us to.
- 38:22Speaker 6: Pray like this, our father, who aren't heaven. Okay, it
- 38:26Speaker 6: says all that stuff. Now there's this one key part.
- 38:29Speaker 6: He goes lead us not into temptation, but deliver us
- 38:33Speaker 6: for me.
- 38:35Speaker 4: Okay, now that line right there.
- 38:37Speaker 6: I believe that line right there stops you from getting
- 38:39Speaker 6: into mass shootings.
- 38:40Speaker 4: It stops, it stops, you know, it gets.
- 38:44Speaker 6: You out of that wrong place, wrong time, and you
- 38:46Speaker 6: don't get in the earthquake, you don't get on that
- 38:48Speaker 6: bad airplane, right.
- 38:49Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying.
- 38:51Speaker 6: So I really believe that God must have led the
- 38:55Speaker 6: cops to my house. It was just too much stuff
- 38:57Speaker 6: was falling in my hand. Like if you look at
- 38:59Speaker 6: my lick, I'm Lisa Video.
- 39:01Speaker 4: I can't pay.
- 39:04Speaker 6: A woman that's my enemy to say those things, like
- 39:07Speaker 6: to really set.
- 39:08Speaker 4: Me up that good? Like are you serious?
- 39:10Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 39:11Speaker 6: Yes, Like my only witness was the ex CoP's wife.
- 39:15Speaker 4: Like this is like this is like, well.
- 39:18Speaker 6: This is this is the masturbation material right here.
- 39:22Speaker 4: I don't believe.
- 39:23Speaker 1: For people who don't know the case, this dude on National.
- 39:27Speaker 6: TV talking about it, he don't know if I flipped
- 39:29Speaker 6: his life or not.
- 39:30Speaker 1: So basically, I just need to set it up so
- 39:32Speaker 1: people understand what you're talking about. Afterman, for people who
- 39:34Speaker 1: aren't familiar with your case in the trial that they
- 39:38Speaker 1: held in the defamation suit, a defense to defamation is
- 39:42Speaker 1: the truth, right, If you're telling the truth, then you
- 39:45Speaker 1: cannot sue that person for damages because they're not making
- 39:48Speaker 1: things up about you. Therefore it's not defamation. So what
- 39:51Speaker 1: Aferman had to do as part of his defense was
- 39:54Speaker 1: he had to call these people who he wrote songs about,
- 39:57Speaker 1: and the assertions he made in the songs he then
- 40:00Speaker 1: had to defend by proving the truth of what he
- 40:02Speaker 1: was saying. So, for example, in the song what is
- 40:05Speaker 1: it lickham Lo Lisa, he had to as part of
- 40:09Speaker 1: his defense, call certain witnesses to attest to the truth
- 40:14Speaker 1: of the lyrics of those songs. So that's what you're
- 40:17Speaker 1: talking about, right, yes, sir, Okay, why do you think
- 40:21Speaker 1: people were so drawn to the Because I think people
- 40:24Speaker 1: were really drawn to this case and it really took
- 40:27Speaker 1: over headlines, and I honestly think it's because of one
- 40:29Speaker 1: of these situations, the situation we're in in this country
- 40:32Speaker 1: where there's so many times where the little person, not
- 40:37Speaker 1: to call you a little person, but the person up
- 40:39Speaker 1: the David and the Goliath, the average person the David
- 40:44Speaker 1: and Goliath does. The David does not win because they're
- 40:48Speaker 1: up against a giant institution and they get the and
- 40:51Speaker 1: they don't win for that reason. But you won like
- 40:54Speaker 1: they issued you. They were trying to take the you know,
- 40:58Speaker 1: sue you for damages because you wrote the album. They
- 41:01Speaker 1: were the aggressor in the situation. They worked down your door.
- 41:03Speaker 1: They did thirty thousand dollars worth of damages to your
- 41:05Speaker 1: home for a search warrant that was based off a
- 41:09Speaker 1: tip that was erroneous. I don't think there was any truth.
- 41:12Speaker 1: There was no truth to it, right, And then they
- 41:13Speaker 1: were going to leave you with a bill, and then
- 41:16Speaker 1: they took you to court because you made this album
- 41:19Speaker 1: about them and claimed defination. Afreman, Let me ask you this,
- 41:22Speaker 1: how do you feel?
- 41:24Speaker 6: Right?
- 41:24Speaker 2: You know, since this happened, a lot of the sheriffs
- 41:28Speaker 2: have retired or they've left or they moved away. Do
- 41:32Speaker 2: you feel like, how do you feel that a part
- 41:35Speaker 2: of the reason why they've done that is because I
- 41:37Speaker 2: mean you basically dragged them.
- 41:39Speaker 1: You dragged them, right, you drag them.
- 41:41Speaker 2: You showed exactly what they did, how they did, and
- 41:44Speaker 2: they are I mean obviously humiliated, right as they should be.
- 41:49Speaker 1: What was like, what was the goal?
- 41:52Speaker 6: Like? The goal was to raise money and paid for
- 41:54Speaker 6: the damages. Personally, I thought they was tough, bad ass
- 41:58Speaker 6: conson they didn't give it. I have never care. I
- 42:00Speaker 6: have never seen a cop care about what I say
- 42:04Speaker 6: once he left. Yeah, these are some real super sensitive
- 42:08Speaker 6: poor sports. These other police officers are making fun of
- 42:12Speaker 6: these guys, dude, like, and I'm not. Yeah, so the key,
- 42:18Speaker 6: makey was My key was to pay for the damages. Yes,
- 42:22Speaker 6: so I was trying to make the songs juicy enough
- 42:26Speaker 6: for people to give.
- 42:27Speaker 2: A damn to VI, right, I mean so, I mean,
- 42:30Speaker 2: I feel like, even though I'm sure it was, you know,
- 42:33Speaker 2: such a pain to have to go through this in
- 42:35Speaker 2: the first place, but it feels like it's worked out
- 42:38Speaker 2: in your favor, Like it's gotten so much more attention
- 42:42Speaker 2: because of this case.
- 42:43Speaker 4: I hate to keep getting religious. I hate it. I
- 42:46Speaker 4: really do. I really want to stay nuture. Just gotta
- 42:48Speaker 4: be God right.
- 42:50Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I hear you, or some sort of karmic retribution, Dude.
- 42:55Speaker 4: I drank Code forty five. I chase every woman. I see.
- 42:59Speaker 4: I'm not no, but this cut to be cut.
- 43:02Speaker 6: I've been trying to boost my followers for for for years.
- 43:08Speaker 4: I've had two hundred thousand.
- 43:10Speaker 6: I've had two hundred thousand people on Instagram for like
- 43:14Speaker 6: the last ten fifteen years.
- 43:16Speaker 4: I go crazy when it. When I finally get that
- 43:18Speaker 4: slow ass thousand, I'm like, oh my.
- 43:20Speaker 6: God, it just put up a number due to watch
- 43:24Speaker 6: eight hundred thousand people get on my situation in four
- 43:28Speaker 6: or five days.
- 43:29Speaker 1: That's incredible. It is incredible.
- 43:31Speaker 6: I can't do that. I didn't do that by myself.
- 43:34Speaker 6: Like God sent me these people, he gave me a story.
- 43:38Speaker 6: That's that's interesting, that that that people are financially involved in,
- 43:43Speaker 6: Like like this is I've tried everything. I've tried everything.
- 43:47Speaker 6: I wear different suits every night. I started doing the
- 43:50Speaker 6: Running Man forward and backwards.
- 43:52Speaker 4: I played it.
- 43:54Speaker 6: I have tried everything, and that's why I try everything.
- 43:59Speaker 6: I thought I was at my low. I don't know
- 44:01Speaker 6: if y'all ever seen trading places there you have it's
- 44:05Speaker 6: like when it's like when the dogs started being on
- 44:07Speaker 6: the guy and it started raining, Like it's like that
- 44:10Speaker 6: was my.
- 44:10Speaker 4: Part of the movie, Like they took down my door.
- 44:14Speaker 4: I'm powerless. My raps ain't taking off no more.
- 44:18Speaker 6: I thought about buying a silence, sir and getting an address.
- 44:22Speaker 6: I was feeling less than a man like. I was
- 44:25Speaker 6: feeling less than a man like. I was like, why
- 44:28Speaker 6: can't these guys you know, you think about slavery, you
- 44:31Speaker 6: think about disrespect, and you want to you want to
- 44:34Speaker 6: if that gonna stop, you know, maybe I need to
- 44:36Speaker 6: give up the ghosts. And and you know, you know
- 44:38Speaker 6: what what do I do? You know, because they get
- 44:42Speaker 6: to walk around with their guns but I don't.
- 44:44Speaker 4: And then I.
- 44:45Speaker 6: Realized how their ar fifteens couldn't.
- 44:48Speaker 4: Hurt me, but my jokes just kill them.
- 44:51Speaker 1: Yes, that's my silly little cake.
- 44:54Speaker 4: Song retired and sensitive acts.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Yes, you know what I'm saying.
- 45:01Speaker 4: Yeah, And you know.
- 45:02Speaker 6: What, here go God again? How many other people have
- 45:05Speaker 6: they done this too?
- 45:07Speaker 1: Countless right? Count platform who.
- 45:11Speaker 6: I won everything in that court? They didn't make me
- 45:14Speaker 6: pay for those people's hot dogs?
- 45:16Speaker 4: Soda? Is it nothing?
- 45:17Speaker 1: Did the police have to pay for your legal fees?
- 45:19Speaker 1: Now that you won in court? Are they paying your lawyers?
- 45:25Speaker 4: We get it, we get it.
- 45:28Speaker 1: So again, just to go on with what you know, Melissa,
- 45:35Speaker 1: stop trying to host this interview talking about neither of
- 45:38Speaker 1: us that's.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Talking to I was just gonna say, like like what
- 45:40Speaker 2: you've been saying, like like we say, look at God, right,
- 45:43Speaker 2: like look at this thing that just fell into your lap.
- 45:46Speaker 2: You couldn't have possibly if somebody had made a movie
- 45:49Speaker 2: about this, we wouldn't believe it.
- 45:51Speaker 6: Coples, you don't understand and be like, yeah, he called
- 45:53Speaker 6: me off the town cake and I'm mad about it.
- 45:56Speaker 4: I get hundreds of takes every day. I can't pay
- 45:58Speaker 4: nobody to be.
- 45:59Speaker 6: That Like this is like it's like super Troopers or something.
- 46:03Speaker 6: It's like police Academy is something goofy, Like I can't
- 46:07Speaker 6: pay for that, dude, Like what.
- 46:09Speaker 1: A script didn't you call? You called the police chief's
- 46:13Speaker 1: ex wife to the stand as a witness.
- 46:15Speaker 6: Uh, he wasn't the police. He was just like a regular. Uh. Yeah,
- 46:20Speaker 6: his name is Sean Grooms. I got a song called
- 46:22Speaker 6: Sean Grooming Grooms and he.
- 46:24Speaker 4: Blamed her force on me to find out.
- 46:28Speaker 1: What what did you ask his ex wife on the stand?
- 46:31Speaker 1: What did your lawyers ask.
- 46:32Speaker 6: If she had an restraining order against him? And all
- 46:36Speaker 6: kind of good stuff, you know, and just let him know.
- 46:39Speaker 6: The bottom line is he's a liar, and a liar
- 46:42Speaker 6: shouldn't have police authority or power.
- 46:45Speaker 4: He's a liar. Back character.
- 46:46Speaker 6: One other cop was married to an ex convict thief.
- 46:49Speaker 6: Now they say birds of a feather.
- 46:51Speaker 4: You can finish the rest of that. You know what
- 46:53Speaker 4: I'm saying.
- 46:55Speaker 6: Then another cop, you know, all the people in the town,
- 46:58Speaker 6: they say he's a statute to rapist, but he's a
- 47:00Speaker 6: sheer and can't nobody do nothing about it? And then
- 47:03Speaker 6: his brother, you can go look it up right now,
- 47:06Speaker 6: is a convicted pedophile that got fired from the people's
- 47:11Speaker 6: police department.
- 47:12Speaker 4: He's the chief of police over there.
- 47:14Speaker 1: Okay, we have we have live fact checking and that
- 47:17Speaker 1: has checked out to be true.
- 47:18Speaker 6: So yeah, brother, that's not defamation. And see that's why
- 47:22Speaker 6: they were trying to They were trying to sue me
- 47:24Speaker 6: and shut me up and steer me and intimidate me.
- 47:27Speaker 4: But I told the truth and what did the truth crew?
- 47:30Speaker 1: It set me free?
- 47:31Speaker 6: Yep, the deal and all of these rivers are just
- 47:35Speaker 6: leading back to the ocean of God, and it's like
- 47:37Speaker 6: it's got to be a blessing from God.
- 47:39Speaker 1: What's next for you? What are you working on? Now?
- 47:41Speaker 1: Where are you? Where are you headed next? You're in Texas?
- 47:45Speaker 1: What's on the horizon for Afro man?
- 47:47Speaker 4: I'm gonna run it down to you here, no, please,
- 47:50Speaker 4: here you go? All right?
- 47:51Speaker 6: First of all, the album's coming out. You know, I
- 47:53Speaker 6: am a rapper. First things first, McDonald always got to
- 47:56Speaker 6: serve you.
- 47:56Speaker 4: The Big Mac with the tope. You know we're gonna
- 47:58Speaker 4: come with the Macburry and the mac rid.
- 48:00Speaker 6: We don't do everything, but first we're gonna take care
- 48:02Speaker 6: of business.
- 48:03Speaker 4: We're gonna keep the Big Mac number one, number one.
- 48:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna make an out not to April nineteenth anywhere
- 48:08Speaker 1: you get music.
- 48:09Speaker 6: After that, the lemon pound cake line is coming. You
- 48:12Speaker 6: know what I'm saying.
- 48:13Speaker 4: I would like to get a big chain.
- 48:15Speaker 6: I would like to get a big chain that professionally
- 48:17Speaker 6: knows how to do it. But if they don't step up,
- 48:20Speaker 6: I'm gonna move on with a with a little man,
- 48:22Speaker 6: and I'm gonna make him.
- 48:23Speaker 4: A big man.
- 48:24Speaker 6: We're gonna big together. The limit pound cakes come together.
- 48:27Speaker 6: In the Afroman's signature Freedom of Speech American dream suit is.
- 48:32Speaker 1: Cuddled Beautiful all wear one on the show.
- 48:35Speaker 6: Yes, yes, it's coming after this suit, you know, just
- 48:38Speaker 6: more of it everything. The Afroman Superhero cartoon. If you
- 48:44Speaker 6: see the battle Hymn of the Police Whistleblower, I got
- 48:48Speaker 6: my super hero character. He's singing the last part of
- 48:54Speaker 6: my song as I lose my voice and he's dropping down.
- 48:57Speaker 6: But it's a superhero. This super hero is uh, he's
- 49:02Speaker 6: gonna he's gonna save society against bad cops. So when cops,
- 49:06Speaker 6: I'm gonna have cartoon cops like, hey, we're gonna steal
- 49:09Speaker 6: your money and plant drugs on you.
- 49:11Speaker 4: You're going to prison.
- 49:12Speaker 6: I'm gonna have like these these these these these bad.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Cops and then they're gonna be like is it a bird?
- 49:17Speaker 2: Is it a plan?
- 49:17Speaker 6: And this afro Man, and then the bad cops gonna
- 49:20Speaker 6: the bad cops are gonna be like afro Man.
- 49:22Speaker 4: They're gonna have guns and stuff. They're gonna start shaking.
- 49:24Speaker 6: Afro Man, Please don't wrap about us like kids.
- 49:27Speaker 4: Please, don't give us your emotional decess. Don't give us humiliation.
- 49:32Speaker 1: Don't wrap. They know they know what will happen.
- 49:35Speaker 6: I'm gonna start rapping and they're gonna run away, and
- 49:38Speaker 6: then all the community they're gonna be like, thanks afro
- 49:40Speaker 6: Man for saving us from the bad cop.
- 49:43Speaker 4: It's coming, brother, Well, thank you so much for turnings.
- 49:46Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 49:47Speaker 4: I can't wait for this disguise the limit.
- 49:51Speaker 1: We're so happy for you.
- 49:52Speaker 2: Like this just feels like you know, the little man
- 49:57Speaker 2: got ahead, do you know what I'm saying?
- 49:59Speaker 1: Like it's I think.
- 50:00Speaker 6: I thank God he used the foolish to confirm the wise.
- 50:03Speaker 6: He worked in mysterious ways.
- 50:05Speaker 4: Yeah, I think he let me.
- 50:06Speaker 6: He let this go down so he could use me
- 50:10Speaker 6: to bring worldwide attention to corruption in government period.
- 50:16Speaker 4: Yeah, and they can all see it.
- 50:19Speaker 6: I did it with rap music, no money, just a
- 50:22Speaker 6: little just a little goofy drunk wrapper.
- 50:26Speaker 1: Thank you, Thank you so much.
- 50:27Speaker 6: Closed the government to the world, and now all the
- 50:31Speaker 6: scholars and the little man can use his freedom of
- 50:34Speaker 6: speech to acknowledge there.
- 50:37Speaker 4: Is a problem.
- 50:38Speaker 6: Use his freedom of speech to address the problem. Use
- 50:41Speaker 6: his freedom of speech to solve the problem.
- 50:45Speaker 1: Amen. Hey, hey, oh so great. It's really nice to
- 50:50Speaker 1: talk to you. Thank you so much. Thank you afro
- 50:53Speaker 1: Man for joining us on brief research. Take care please.
- 50:59Speaker 1: Thank God God gave us like a low Lisa woman
- 51:07Speaker 1: going down on another woman. Thank you God for like Lisa.
- 51:14Speaker 1: He was just like, and I'm not religious, here's another
- 51:16Speaker 1: story about God. It's like so weirdness. That was actually
- 51:23Speaker 1: that was it was.
- 51:25Speaker 4: It was fun.
- 51:26Speaker 1: It was fun and he's, oh my God, he's kind
- 51:28Speaker 1: of cute, like God. Like, I was just like, he's adorable, right,
- 51:33Speaker 1: It was like I don't like God at all, but
- 51:35Speaker 1: let me quote him multiple times. You sent me here
- 51:40Speaker 1: and this whole situation was his doing. Yeah, it's got
- 51:42Speaker 1: to be good. It's got to be good, big mark.
- 51:47Speaker 4: In the middle.
- 51:48Speaker 1: We got to keep it number one, the big back
- 51:51Speaker 1: will always be number one on the menu. I'm gonna
- 51:53Speaker 1: start saying that I love that. I love that. Love
- 51:57Speaker 1: that was great. No, I love it because it You're right,
- 52:00Speaker 1: it is like it like it feels like the little
- 52:03Speaker 1: man finally a fucking win.
- 52:05Speaker 2: And you know, and what he was saying, you know,
- 52:08Speaker 2: not every not every rapper becomes jay Z right, you
- 52:12Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, So like this idea that this
- 52:14Speaker 2: rapper who's known form making like jokes, and he said
- 52:17Speaker 2: that he'd been struggling.
- 52:18Speaker 1: She was like a one hit wonder, correct, and this
- 52:21Speaker 1: you know.
- 52:21Speaker 2: It must be a terrible thing, right when the police
- 52:24Speaker 2: come barging into your home. It's scary in all the things.
- 52:27Speaker 2: And he took this terrible situation and look at what
- 52:32Speaker 2: he's done. He's revitalized his career totally.
- 52:35Speaker 1: And I think, like, like he said, they do this
- 52:39Speaker 1: to so many people and we don't hear it. We
- 52:41Speaker 1: never hear about it and they never get their bills paid.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Nothing ever happens and there's no accountability. So I think
- 52:48Speaker 1: this is like one of those rare times in fucking
- 52:50Speaker 1: life and society where it feels like the bad guy's
- 52:53Speaker 1: got what was coming, especially because.
- 52:55Speaker 2: We know, like many times, far too many times the
- 52:58Speaker 2: police have barged into someone's home and the person there
- 53:02Speaker 2: gets killed. Right, So thank god this didn't happen to him,
- 53:06Speaker 2: and he was able to take a scary, terrible situation
- 53:10Speaker 2: and like make it really funny. And now he's got
- 53:13Speaker 2: new followers and he's probably going to go on tour
- 53:15Speaker 2: and do all this really cool stuff.
- 53:17Speaker 1: I really want a big mac, I think I do.
- 53:19Speaker 2: I want like some lemon pound cake. I love lemon
- 53:21Speaker 2: pound I love lemon pound cake. I love a lemon dessert.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Okay, we'll be right back. Let's get into the dams.
- 53:29Speaker 1: I'm still so sick from whatever Brad fed me. No,
- 53:32Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Uh, this is tales from the Dams. Let's
- 53:35Speaker 1: talk about all the crazy things I'll send us on
- 53:38Speaker 1: the internet. You send me some really good stuff, and
- 53:41Speaker 1: I have been better at keeping track of who sends
- 53:43Speaker 1: me what and following up. And I'm asking people you know,
- 53:46Speaker 1: can we read this? And then CJ gets involved, so
- 53:48Speaker 1: we're being really official. I'm happy to hear that. Friends,
- 53:51Speaker 1: What do I always say?
- 53:53Speaker 2: While Michael is a lawyer, he is not your lawyer,
- 53:56Speaker 2: so get your own.
- 53:59Speaker 1: It's this one. I actually love this. This is just
- 54:01Speaker 1: a good let's read some reviews. This is from last
- 54:05Speaker 1: week's episode about the Epstein Files. Red Rose tells us
- 54:08Speaker 1: the ongoing studio lighting changes are interesting to observe. It's
- 54:14Speaker 1: Michael's fault. He's so vain. Oh, it's one hundred percent.
- 54:17Speaker 1: I don't give a shit.
- 54:18Speaker 6: No.
- 54:18Speaker 1: Nick explained it to me and he really did a
- 54:20Speaker 1: full breakdown for me at the lighting of how it
- 54:23Speaker 1: reflects of certain boards and like how they use certain
- 54:26Speaker 1: lighting and some studios and others. So I'm on the
- 54:29Speaker 1: journey as well, and I'm enjoying it. I know you are.
- 54:32Speaker 2: This is from Mandy. She was talking about the America's
- 54:36Speaker 2: Next Top Model with Johanna laundry chair girl here, an
- 54:41Speaker 2: active hippopotamus and pity potomatous lover. I need this podcast
- 54:46Speaker 2: in my life. Thank you for the last the serious business,
- 54:49Speaker 2: the tea, and the strong reality based perception of the world.
- 54:52Speaker 2: It's warts and highlights. She likes pipulls. Piples are so cute.
- 54:57Speaker 2: I love them.
- 54:58Speaker 1: My sister had pippoles for many years when I was
- 55:00Speaker 1: in college, and they were so snuggily, so nice, spooning
- 55:06Speaker 1: on the sofa. They were really, really cute.
- 55:08Speaker 2: When I was a kid, there was a pitbull in
- 55:11Speaker 2: my neighborhood whose name was Cupcake, and Cupcake would would
- 55:15Speaker 2: like lay down and like display and like beg for
- 55:17Speaker 2: belly rubs.
- 55:18Speaker 1: They're really sweet dogs. I've gotten more and more. It's
- 55:21Speaker 1: not that I'm hoping something happens to Jack, but he
- 55:26Speaker 1: is getting older. Actually I do need to fetch about
- 55:29Speaker 1: this for a second, Okay, because I love Jack my dog. Yeah,
- 55:34Speaker 1: my thirteen year old. She know he's not very nice,
- 55:37Speaker 1: but he's he's getting old and he's demented. And is
- 55:41Speaker 1: he demented? I think so? Does he sund down? Yes, okay,
- 55:44Speaker 1: but I love him? No, Yes, of course. It is
- 55:48Speaker 1: following me around, panting everywhere I go. And I'm reading
- 55:52Speaker 1: about how dogs when they're older follow you around because
- 55:55Speaker 1: they can't see or hear anymore, so they like smell you.
- 55:59Speaker 1: They just kind of are turned. They're getting more like
- 56:01Speaker 1: nervous about being alone. Yeah, and it's and it's sad. Yeah,
- 56:06Speaker 1: it's also annoying. It's on mine He's tippy tap dancing
- 56:10Speaker 1: with his long claws on my last fucking nerves some days,
- 56:13Speaker 1: and I'm like, I don't know how y'all caregivers do it.
- 56:16Speaker 1: I don't know how nurses do it. I don't know
- 56:18Speaker 1: how people in these jobs do this, because I'm like,
- 56:22Speaker 1: this is just my dog, and I get to leave
- 56:23Speaker 1: the house and like go live my life and come back.
- 56:26Speaker 1: But oh my god, leaving today, does he cry?
- 56:29Speaker 6: No?
- 56:29Speaker 1: Oh, he's just following me around, like looking for a
- 56:32Speaker 1: treat or whatever, just like trying to make sure I'm
- 56:34Speaker 1: home or not or whatever. And then and it's it's
- 56:38Speaker 1: most of the time it's really sweet, but today I
- 56:41Speaker 1: was like, I'm actually gonna lose my shit. You need
- 56:43Speaker 1: to get away from me, leave me alone for one second.
- 56:46Speaker 1: I can't go in the other room without him following me,
- 56:49Speaker 1: and it breaks my heart. The dog. It's also very frustrating.
- 56:53Speaker 1: It's really frustrating. But I know one day I'm gonna
- 56:57Speaker 1: like wish you were following me around and that I'm
- 57:00Speaker 1: annoyed by him not being there. But on the other
- 57:04Speaker 1: side of that coin, I've also been really excited about
- 57:06Speaker 1: potentially adopting another dog once Jack crosses the Rainbow Bridge,
- 57:10Speaker 1: which will probably be years from now. He's still thirteen,
- 57:12Speaker 1: is like actually kind of young for that breed, and
- 57:16Speaker 1: he's showing no sign of slowing down. He still goes
- 57:18Speaker 1: on like four walks a day for like a twenty
- 57:20Speaker 1: thirty forty minutes sometimes. But I'm like falling in love
- 57:25Speaker 1: with all these other dogs as I'm like looking around
- 57:27Speaker 1: on the end, I'm like, ooh, I'm actually really excited.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Andrey really wants a dog and I won't get one,
- 57:31Speaker 2: but but I look at them and they're so cute,
- 57:35Speaker 2: especially the ones who like need homes.
- 57:37Speaker 1: The Dodo. The Dodo is like the worst thing. They
- 57:39Speaker 1: just I can't it just really cute, and I know,
- 57:42Speaker 1: but I love it.
- 57:43Speaker 2: Just this homeless dog who all of a sudden finds
- 57:46Speaker 2: their home and now they're beautiful and I love I.
- 57:49Speaker 1: Saw one and it was like, we're going to test
- 57:51Speaker 1: her out for the weekend, and like before the video
- 57:53Speaker 1: was even over, there like there's no way they're taking
- 57:56Speaker 1: the dog shopping. I was like, there's no way you're
- 57:58Speaker 1: sending that dogs a sweater? Yeah? In credit card debt? Okay? Oh.
- 58:04Speaker 1: From the Boomer Banks episode, Nicole Phillips says, Melissa Michael
- 58:08Speaker 1: so perfectly pared as host. That makes every guest feel
- 58:10Speaker 1: like such a natural fit for them. And I'm always
- 58:13Speaker 1: obsessed with Melissa's jewelry. Nicole, what do you think of this?
- 58:19Speaker 1: I love that? What do you think of this? I
- 58:21Speaker 1: love this? Where'd you get that? States?
- 58:27Speaker 4: Oh my god?
- 58:28Speaker 1: All right, let's get into some questions. We got a
- 58:30Speaker 1: clip from CJ.
- 58:33Speaker 7: I have a quick question regarding actual dual citizenship from
- 58:38Speaker 7: the US to Canada. My son's great grandfather was born
- 58:43Speaker 7: in Canada, and I know that they had voted on
- 58:46Speaker 7: Bill C three to allow those descendants to apply, but
- 58:51Speaker 7: the extension temporary measure expired on March nineteenth. So at
- 58:57Speaker 7: this point, does my son have any way to apply
- 59:01Speaker 7: for Canadian citizenship due to his great grandfather being born there,
- 59:07Speaker 7: thus being a naturalized Canadian citizen?
- 59:10Speaker 1: Thanks so much? Okay, so this is actually I'm really
- 59:15Speaker 1: glad this came up because I'm actually doing this. Brad's
- 59:17Speaker 1: great great grandmother was Canadian, so I was like, Boots, like,
- 59:22Speaker 1: let's do it just for fun, like, let's have Canadian
- 59:25Speaker 1: passports if we want them, why not. So I'm actually
- 59:28Speaker 1: in the middle of doing this right now. So I'm
- 59:30Speaker 1: glad glad you called in because I actually know a
- 59:32Speaker 1: lot about this. I'm in the middle of it right now.
- 59:34Speaker 1: And I think whoever gave you that March nineteenth extension
- 59:37Speaker 1: deadline might have been wrong, or maybe we're talking about
- 59:39Speaker 1: different things here, But from my understanding, the C three
- 59:43Speaker 1: Bill is in full effect right now. We're almost in
- 59:47Speaker 1: this ol air in April twenty twenty six, and there
- 59:50Speaker 1: is no extension deadline that sort of felt that you
- 59:55Speaker 1: are you have since passed, so I think you should
- 59:57Speaker 1: still be able to file for citizenship by descendant in Canada.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: You're just going to have to prove that that just
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: that chain of descendant, right, So you're gonna have to
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: get the birth certificate of whatever. I guess it is
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: his great grandfather who is Canadian, So you'll need that
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: birth certificate to prove right that they're indeed related. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: so that's sort of how that works. And then you
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: follow it there. And I called. I had to call, and.
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: I talked to it was a super nice person. Of
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: super nice Canadian.
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: So I'm so stupid. I'm so stupid. I called and
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: this person had the craziest fucking accent accent and I
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: was like, wow, Michael, like you're so ignorant. You didn't
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: know that Canadians have these extreme accents. She was like hello,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: and I was like, huh, that is so obscure. Part
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: of Canada? Is this person from? And she was like,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: oh yeah, I just went through this to me, so
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: from from Ireland?
- 1:01:04Speaker 6: All right.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I was just like, probably an immigrant from something. There's
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: also immigrants in Ireland. They're not all from canadamgrant. Immigrants
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: in Canada. Not everyone in Canada's Canadian. For example, you, Michael,
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: you're applying for Canadian citizenship, your stupid bit. You're applying
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: with Brad or is Brad applying and I'm applying for Brad. No, no, no,
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: I understand, I understand. Lord only knows what will happen
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: if you. So then if Brad gets it, I will
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: then apply on through him for me to get status.
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: But I'm doing the whole thing no, because he wouldn't
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: be able to. All right, Well, thank you so much
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: for sending in your dams. Thanks you for sending in
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: your messages. We've got some more. We'll get to them
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: next week. This was really fun. Thanks for joining us.
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: We'll see you next week, and before then, I'll see
