Transcript
- 0:00Hello everyone, and welcome to the Random Heathenry Ramblings
- 0:03podcast, where we discuss all sorts of things dramatic
- 0:06Heathenry related. My name is Jesse.
- 0:09I am your host. Let's get into it.
- 0:32Well, all right, everybody hail and welcome back to this week's
- 0:35podcast, the Random Heathen Ramblings podcast.
- 0:37Another episode, another week in hot as mussville, Haim mid
- 0:43guard. I think almost everywhere in
- 0:45this world is feeling heat, feeling the heat.
- 0:51But here in the here in the southern United States, it is
- 0:54been oppressively hot, particularly so I hope you're
- 0:59all staying cool and able to get some relief and some enjoyment,
- 1:05you know, during these hot, hot months.
- 1:07We're in August now, so for all intents and purposes we should
- 1:12hopefully be on the downhill, you know, coasting on the
- 1:19downhill side of things, you know, getting ready for those
- 1:22cooler months, those shorter days.
- 1:27I can't wait for it particularly.
- 1:29I'm looking forward to it. We got some really fun things
- 1:32coming up here in Middle Tennessee in October.
- 1:34You know, we got the Raven, moon, hearts, Shadow Mood event,
- 1:36my tribes, got our winter nights and then just a few short weeks
- 1:40after the ends of all that, you know, we're going to be going
- 1:44into my birthday month, November.
- 1:46And we've got something really fun and exciting, a small I
- 1:50would say small but a semi small private invite only gathering
- 1:54which I'm not going to divulge details about yet.
- 1:57Some of those of you who are watching know of what I speak.
- 2:02But for the rest of you in time, in due time there, there will be
- 2:07more details to come and I would what I would I will say right
- 2:13off of the rip regarding this thing is that it's going to
- 2:18involve my tribe. It's going to involve some other
- 2:23friends and allies and companions of of our tribe, and
- 2:28there's going to be a lot of weird being interwoven and tied
- 2:32together with this event that's coming up.
- 2:36And it's going to involve a long journey.
- 2:41So that's all I'm going to say for right now.
- 2:43But I do want to mention to everybody listening and watching
- 2:46that because of the long journey, because of the the
- 2:49distance, because of the preparations that it takes to do
- 2:52all that, I'm going to be soon here crafting some Elder Fudar
- 2:57Rune sets out of Birch. They will be for sale and the
- 3:04sales of of those Rune sets are going to help fund this upcoming
- 3:09event that my tribe and others are going to be part of.
- 3:12So be on the lookout for that. Wherever you are listening,
- 3:15watching here in the coming weeks I will have available for
- 3:20sale some elder food like rune sets that I've made.
- 3:23If you guys have been following me for any length of time and
- 3:25you've seen some of my handiwork that I've done before, you'll
- 3:30see a pop up here on the screen. Some Birch rune sets which look
- 3:35like this. What you're seeing right now and
- 3:38if you're not watching this and you're not seeing it, they are,
- 3:41they are small. You know about inch I would say,
- 3:44but you know anywheres between like half to 3/4 of an inch up
- 3:48to an inch or so around in diameter.
- 3:52You know maybe about 1/4 inch thick or less thick Birch rune
- 3:58discs and they have all the 24 elder food are runes on them.
- 4:02So if you're looking to get a rune set for yourself, if you
- 4:05are looking to explore studying the runes, learning the runes,
- 4:08or maybe you want to get them for a gift or as a gift for
- 4:11somebody, maybe consider buying them as I make them.
- 4:17And then also know that the purchasing of those items are
- 4:19going to help fund this very meaningful trip coming up here
- 4:22in November. So more to come on that.
- 4:24It will be getting released here soon on all of my social
- 4:27platforms, so be sure to follow me.
- 4:29Head down in the description and show notes of this podcast.
- 4:32So that way you are following me on all social.
- 4:35So no matter where you are, you will see what it is that I'm
- 4:38talking about. All right, So today's podcast is
- 4:44going to be a solo run. I'm doing this one without any
- 4:47guests today, but this is a topic that I thought would be a
- 4:51really good one to kind of dive into.
- 4:54And it's regarding Hearth Cult. Now, I know I've talked about
- 5:01this on other podcasts. I've mentioned how important it
- 5:04is I feel, for Modern Heathens to establish their Hearth cult,
- 5:09to have a Hearth cult of their own.
- 5:14And and and I've alluded to how important I think that is.
- 5:17You know, I've even gone so far as to say that if you are coming
- 5:22into Heathenry without having your hearth cult established,
- 5:26without having something in place already or without having
- 5:29an understanding of what that is and why heathens find it so
- 5:32important, if you don't have that and you're kind of putting
- 5:35the cart in front of the horse, you're jumping the gun.
- 5:37You're moving, You know, you're putting things ahead of each
- 5:39other, you know, jumping right into, well, how do I honor the
- 5:41gods? What should I gift to this God,
- 5:43that God? You know, how should I honor?
- 5:46Venerate, bloat, fame, gifting all these other types of things
- 5:50to the gods, to the divine? And in the meantime, there is no
- 5:54understanding or precedence of your individual cultic practices
- 6:00or what we refer to as Hearth Cult.
- 6:03So I want to talk today about Hearth Cult, why it's so
- 6:07important. But I also wanted to kind of
- 6:11help maybe those that are hearing me say these things and
- 6:16going what, what does that really even mean?
- 6:19How do I do that? Where do I start?
- 6:22I know that for a lot of folks like myself and when I was first
- 6:25coming into Heathenry, I didn't know about these things, number
- 6:29one. And I didn't find out about them
- 6:31until kind of later on into my into my practice.
- 6:35And had I known about this up front, I think it would have
- 6:39probably speed me up a bit in terms of where my my progress
- 6:44is. I mean, I'm not upset of of of
- 6:45the progress that I've made And and being at this for you know,
- 6:49going on soon to be 9 years, next year, this coming year
- 6:53coming up 2024 will be, you know, nine years that I've been
- 6:59a practicing even. But you know, had I known early
- 7:03on what Hearth Cult was or is and and why it's important and
- 7:06all that, then I would have probably, I don't know, I think
- 7:13my worldview would have developed a little bit sooner.
- 7:20But so in in addition to talking about why Hearth Cult is
- 7:25important, what it is also going to try and help give you guys
- 7:29some ideas or steps that you can take to establish and build and
- 7:34and maintain your own hearth cult.
- 7:36Because that is exactly what you need to do.
- 7:38Nobody can tell you how your hearth cult should be framed or
- 7:44or built up around. This is something that you have
- 7:47to develop yourself. There is some framework here
- 7:51that you can that I'm going to be talking about today that you
- 7:53can maybe work off of, but please be you know, I I just
- 7:58want everybody to please be aware of the fact that I am not
- 8:00trying to tell you how you should, you know, build your
- 8:07hearth cult necessarily. I'm just trying to give you
- 8:09ideas of how it can be done. And then you take those
- 8:12suggestions, you take that material and then you go and you
- 8:15build it, you do it your way, your family's way, whatever.
- 8:20And you know, if there are people that are listening and
- 8:21watching that already know what I'm talking about and have it,
- 8:23then please do feel free to comment down below, share your
- 8:28thoughts. Call into the podcast, right
- 8:31into the podcast if you want to call.
- 8:33It's a toll free. I say toll free but it isn't
- 8:36toll free. It's a Google Voice number.
- 8:38It's open 24/7, 615-671-9832. Numbers are going to be down
- 8:45here on the bottom of your screen as you see it now.
- 8:48And then you can also right into the podcast and that is going to
- 8:52be mid garden musingstn@gmail.com.
- 8:58So what am I talking about when I say hearth cult?
- 9:00Well this is the thing that is really going to help you develop
- 9:05your experiences between yourself and the divine later
- 9:11on. Because the the, the framework
- 9:13of of your hearth cult is going to include things that later on
- 9:16become part of your larger, you know, religiosity, the larger
- 9:21religious practices that you have with the sacred.
- 9:26And some people may be wondering, you know, how the
- 9:30dramatic people would have had their their hearth cults, You
- 9:34know, what did they do, how did they do it?
- 9:37There's very little if any evidence that we know of of how
- 9:40it was done. You know we we have some like
- 9:46secondhand witness hearsay sort of source material.
- 9:52Tacitus being one of them who mentions that like amongst these
- 9:56people they had a particular like there's this one line in in
- 9:59Tacitus in his Germania he he writes about how the this
- 10:04particular tribe that he was observing or he was getting
- 10:08information about held a particular interest in casting
- 10:13lots in Divination and they would cast lots and he mentioned
- 10:16specifically that the the the father the head of the household
- 10:20would be the one to cast lots for the family and on a larger
- 10:23scale for for like the community or something would be like
- 10:26someone of a priest maybe go the something like that right
- 10:30Somebody of a religious spiritual leader of the of the
- 10:35the culture at that time and they would be the ones to do it.
- 10:38But we we, we here specifically Tacitus mentioned that when it
- 10:41came to families that there was a designated person, the father
- 10:45of the man of the house, the the household of the of the clan,
- 10:48whatever would be the one to perform these acts of
- 10:52divination, that is an example of hearth cult.
- 10:56Now what could be some other examples of hearth cult?
- 10:59Well your hearth cult could include you saying a prayer or
- 11:04having a morning wash routine or lighting incense, lighting a
- 11:08candle for a person or persons or spirits, beings that are seen
- 11:16and unseen near and around your presence, around your house,
- 11:20around your home, around your living space.
- 11:24Could be you know that you pull a room.
- 11:26Could be that you read something from one of you know the sagas
- 11:30or or one of the edits or something like who knows It
- 11:33could be something totally non Germanic.
- 11:36Like you could have you know just your kind of spiritual
- 11:41practice of of doing something specific that is that you
- 11:44something that you do repetitively every day or maybe
- 11:47not even every day but something on a semi regular basis that
- 11:51becomes part of your practice, your your, your, you do it the
- 11:55same way all the time. You build up this kind of muscle
- 11:59memory, this habit as it were of of doing it and that is hearth
- 12:06cult. That's you know if we want to
- 12:08just cut and trim away all the fat of things like what is
- 12:10hearth cult? What am I talking about is these
- 12:13are the the cultic practices that the things that you do in
- 12:17your home to connect with the spiritual beings that are
- 12:23existing around us, that are unseen, right Could and and for
- 12:27a lot of us as as dramatic heathens.
- 12:29There is this sense or this idea of having the spirits of the
- 12:33home, the housewives or who's here is a name that gets used
- 12:39quite often to describe these entities that live in the home
- 12:43that we coexist with in our home.
- 12:46Another name that gets used, I believe specifically in like
- 12:52maybe Anglo-Saxon. I don't want to say for sure,
- 12:55but I think it's Anglo-Saxon, Heathenry Kofgod.
- 12:58Or maybe it's just Saxon here. But Kofgod is another name that
- 13:02we here used to describe basically the same thing.
- 13:06It is the spirit of the home the spirits of the home and then
- 13:11throughout folklore we we hear them called different things we
- 13:14hear them we're called you know Tom de the nice we we you know
- 13:20see different names put to them in different stories throughout
- 13:24different regional folklore. So there are a lot of cultures
- 13:27are a lot of places that have a something something similar to
- 13:31what I'm talking about this the spirits that reside in the home.
- 13:34You know we have the the spirits that reside in the land, the
- 13:37land vatir. And then we have the spirits of
- 13:41the house or of the home, the hisphere, the the Coast Guard,
- 13:44the the the, the beings that are unseen.
- 13:46In most most cases that dwell in the home and in for many people
- 13:52your hearth cult will involve them.
- 13:56Because again, we are looking at our existence, our sharing of
- 14:01space with the unseen, as a relationship that needs to be
- 14:05maintained and kept up to a certain standard.
- 14:10And one of the standards that we have is to exchange in the
- 14:14gifting cycle, same as we do with the divine with the gods,
- 14:17right? We we gift to them in hopes of
- 14:20receiving gifts in return. That reciprocity is a very
- 14:24important concept amongst heathens of all different types,
- 14:28dramatic and otherwise. But that is a very common theme
- 14:31that we see even down to the hearth cult practice of modern
- 14:36heathens is that exchange of gifts to the spirits that live
- 14:41in our in our that we share space with, right.
- 14:45So I I know some people have like a accustomed to whenever
- 14:53they pour their coffee or whenever they have their
- 14:55breakfast, right, they believe a small offering of porridge,
- 15:02maybe oatmeal or cereal or something, a small bowl of oats.
- 15:08You know, maybe a shot of coffee or something.
- 15:11Like I don't know again that that is part of your individual
- 15:14cultic practice. That is part of the hearth cult
- 15:16that I'm talking about, a gift to the house God, the hispeteer,
- 15:21the the housewives, the vateer that you share space with.
- 15:25Because it is believed that when the vateer are happy, then
- 15:30happy, happy happy whites, happy home, you know what I mean?
- 15:34If there is upset, if there's turmoil, if the if the vateer
- 15:37are upset then things can go awry in the home.
- 15:41That is a theme that we see repeated throughout different
- 15:46again folklore and sagas too. You know they specifically with
- 15:51like the land veteer. It was it was believed that if
- 15:54you know if the land veteer were upset or if the land veteer were
- 15:58were scared away from their land that the the crops of the land
- 16:04would suffer. The people of the land would
- 16:06become sick. There would there would be war.
- 16:09You know there would be all these things that would befall
- 16:11people in the land to be of of of of harm.
- 16:16Right that now we have to, we have to we have to boost that
- 16:20gift. We have to we have to do
- 16:21something to make them happy again.
- 16:24We want to keep the vate tier happy.
- 16:26So when it comes to our hearth cults, a lot of folks will have
- 16:32place and time for the vate tier of their home and have that in a
- 16:36private ceremony. Maybe just something small every
- 16:38day, maybe not every day. But again, it depends on your
- 16:43hearth cult practice, right? So I want to mention also really
- 16:48quick that there are a couple of sources.
- 16:51You know, I always like to try to, whenever I can back up what
- 16:54I say with source material if I'm able to.
- 16:56And there are two sources that appear to indicate the
- 17:02importance of a domestic setting, and and these are the
- 17:11names on on on your screen. I'm going to also be linking
- 17:15information about these two sources in the description and
- 17:19show notes of of this episode. So for those of you that are
- 17:22can't see what's on screen, just just head to the description or
- 17:26show notes of the podcast and they'll be links to either the
- 17:31source material itself, maybe a PDF or at least the name of it
- 17:35for you to be able to research yourself.
- 17:37But these are two particular sources that that that make
- 17:41mention specifically of, you know, the importance of having
- 17:45this domestic setting sort of focus on on Hearth cult.
- 17:54All right. So why is it so important?
- 17:58All right, now this is going to get into something that I think
- 18:02could spark some more conversation and I want to just
- 18:06put this out here right now as to why what I'm talking about is
- 18:09so important. We're going to get into the
- 18:10what's right, the the, the, the little idiosyncrasy, some of the
- 18:13suggestions and the things that I would maybe recommend people
- 18:17do that have never done it before.
- 18:18But why is what I'm talking about so important?
- 18:20The reason why these things are so important?
- 18:22Cuz as I mentioned before, Heathenry especially, it is an
- 18:25orthopratic orthopraxist or orthopraxic religion, which
- 18:32means that the correct performance of right action is
- 18:38more important than correct belief.
- 18:44So the doing of things right we we want to do things correctly.
- 18:48That's why a lot of times you'll see folks I think really really
- 18:52drive hard home the historical reckoning of things right.
- 18:57If it was done historically a certain way, then there
- 19:01absolutely can be no wiggle room about how it's done now.
- 19:05There was a there's there's a reason for it.
- 19:07And that's because Heathenry is is looked at it as an
- 19:11orthopraxic religion, the repetitive, you know, doing of
- 19:17things as they have been done traditionally, so on and so
- 19:20forth. Now, you all heard me say
- 19:23before, right, that tradition is not about preservation of or the
- 19:28worship of ashes. The tradition is not the worship
- 19:31of ashes is that. It is the preservation of fire.
- 19:34This aspect of things I think can go both ways.
- 19:37You can become so enamored and so rooted in the past.
- 19:40You can so become so root down that you don't allow for growth
- 19:43and things don't become, you know, they don't blossom and
- 19:47bloom into the now. And so we're doing things
- 19:52archaically and and and and things that just don't apply
- 19:55anymore. So again there's a fine line.
- 19:58There is I think value and and purpose and reason to have
- 20:02things done in a in a way that was done at least that we can
- 20:07recall and and and and have source material back us up and
- 20:11say that it was done a certain way.
- 20:13I think that it's important to have it you know done that way
- 20:17at least to some close proximity now without getting too far off
- 20:21into the weeds with it, right. So how below is done?
- 20:26Right. That is something very
- 20:27specifically that we have documented that you know, there
- 20:30were there were, there was, there were certain items, there
- 20:33was a way things were done. There were materials that were
- 20:36there that were present, you know.
- 20:38So without those materials, without it being that specific
- 20:42way, then it is not bloat. We can call it something else,
- 20:45but we cannot call it bloat because it's not, it doesn't
- 20:48involve or include those specific things.
- 20:51Semantics okay. Like you know we can argue that
- 20:53all day long if you if you want to call what you do bloat and it
- 20:56doesn't involve any of those things.
- 20:58I'm not going to be the one to breed down people's necks and be
- 21:00like what you're saying it wrong.
- 21:01I might just genuinely share like hey, don't know if you know
- 21:04this but from a historical aspect to call something to do
- 21:08bloat, right. To have bloat means a very
- 21:11specific thing with with specific things present.
- 21:15Maybe they call it that because they didn't know.
- 21:17Maybe they just thought it was an overarching term for the
- 21:20gifting exchange for the feigning that is being done for
- 21:23the offering. It's like well, not necessarily.
- 21:26You know, if you're going to call it bloat then there has to
- 21:28be certain things involved with it.
- 21:30But again, I'm not here to argue semantics and and and breathe
- 21:34down people's necks about what they calls one thing that or the
- 21:36other. But I would approach it in that
- 21:39way when given the chance or opportunity without infringing
- 21:43on somebody's cultic practices, right.
- 21:46And that's what we're here talking about today.
- 21:50Hearth cult, how people do things in their home the way
- 21:56that I do things. And you know, my hearth cult's
- 21:59not going to be the same as yours, and your hearth cult's
- 22:01not going to be the same as the next person.
- 22:04There might be similarities. There might be things that you
- 22:07become involved with if you if you become friends with people,
- 22:11if you come, if you become intertwined in their life.
- 22:16You know you might be present for some of the things that they
- 22:19do in their hearth cult. And those things that somebody
- 22:24does may provide you with inspiration to adopt things in
- 22:28your individual practices as well, or maybe to adopt
- 22:32something similar like that in your hearth cult.
- 22:35I think we see this across regions, across cultures, across
- 22:39everything throughout time. You know, inspiration, you want
- 22:46to call it appropriation, but how somebody or somebody's did
- 22:50something a certain way at 1 certain time, other people were
- 22:55exposed to it and said, wow, I like the way that works.
- 22:59I like the way that feels that would work really well for us
- 23:03over here, you know, So let's let's take this and take that
- 23:08framework, right, and build something of our own with it.
- 23:13You know, again, that's why we have so many.
- 23:15That's why there's nuance to so many things.
- 23:17That's why we have so many things to compare and and and
- 23:21find similarities in is because at one point in time and we're
- 23:24all started wherever that might have been you know came by way
- 23:29of of other people's influence and other active presence from
- 23:35from other culture. So you know it.
- 23:37It goes, it goes without saying that you know I don't think it's
- 23:43it's doing anything wrong to the tradition itself to find a place
- 23:49for it in your hearth cult. You know if you if you were
- 23:55maybe a guest at somebody's home and they you know they did
- 24:01something specific that you've never seen before and you know
- 24:06you asked about the the the tradition of what they're doing
- 24:09and they give you some sort of history or background to it.
- 24:13Then if it if it's something specific and there go the dogs.
- 24:17The dogs are going crazy because I've got my father-in-law that
- 24:21comes over and feeds them every day so when when he comes over
- 24:26they lose their mind. So if you heard that, that's
- 24:27what that's going on about. So anyway if somebody that you
- 24:32go into their home and and they say, you know, well this was
- 24:35done, you know, by my ancestors and and this is the reason why
- 24:39it was done. You know, you could ask and say
- 24:41you know is this is this something that is specific or
- 24:43closed off. You know out of respect you know
- 24:45is I, I really like the way this feels.
- 24:47I would like to maybe, you know, use this or adopt, adopt this
- 24:50into my my heart cult, my, my individual practices, you know,
- 24:55I think within reason and within respect of somebody else's
- 24:57traditions. And then that's perfectly fine.
- 24:59And okay, as long as they're okay with it, as long as it's
- 25:01not like, no, no, you know, first of all, if if you're in
- 25:05somebody's home and they're sharing that stuff with you,
- 25:07that is that, that that should be seen as something very, very
- 25:13sacred. You know that's that's my
- 25:15opinion is you wouldn't, you wouldn't walk into somebody's
- 25:19home and take something of theirs in front of their face or
- 25:24or behind their back even and then call it your own.
- 25:28You know, if it was given to you, if it was, if you were
- 25:31exposed to it in good faith and in trust and entrusted with it,
- 25:36then I guess what you do with it at that point is up to you.
- 25:40And you would just want to be sure to be a a good caretaker of
- 25:42that and and share it around and and do it, you know,
- 25:46appropriately without painting that gift that was given to you.
- 25:52You know. So again, similarly if you were
- 25:53to go to somebody's home and they were doing something a
- 25:55ceremony, a cleansing, a prayer or something like that and it
- 25:58just really spoke to you, it's it's worth having that
- 26:01conversation. I think would be like I would
- 26:03like to adopt this into my practices because it could it
- 26:06could really help you again in building that that hearth cult
- 26:12which I feel again is, is crucial.
- 26:14It's paramount. It's critical to have hearth
- 26:17cult, have your hearth cult. And then next thing you know
- 26:20what happens is you. You would find something of of
- 26:23of a tradition of yourself that you built around.
- 26:25Maybe something that someone else did or or that was inspired
- 26:28by what someone else did. And now you have your own
- 26:33tradition. You have your own thing you can
- 26:35pass on to your family members or your nearest and dearest,
- 26:39right? Hey, this is how I do things and
- 26:41this is how we are as a family are going to do things.
- 26:43And next thing you know, you've established A tradition.
- 26:46You have preserved that fire, right?
- 26:49You have carried those flames as coals and and and added and
- 26:54breathed new life into these things.
- 26:58To be that source of inspiration and to be that thing that
- 27:07enhances your relationship with the divine when that time comes.
- 27:10Because again these these interactions that we have we're
- 27:13talking about hearth cult. These are all things that while
- 27:15they are spirit, while they may be unseen, they are near to us.
- 27:18They exist in profane space you know and that is that is another
- 27:24part of of heathenry that we, we, we, we see the world as a
- 27:30separation between profane and sacred space.
- 27:34Profane doesn't mean dirty, doesn't mean evil necessarily.
- 27:37There is plenty of good and and and and and end nefarious things
- 27:43that exist in profane space. But it is just the separation
- 27:47between that and what is in sacred space.
- 27:51When we when we create sacred space, we're going to be talking
- 27:55about this here in just a moment we are putting something of the
- 28:00profane. We are creating space to reach
- 28:02and and and interact with the divine in that sacred space and
- 28:07while those things, while we while everything exists in that
- 28:13sacred space. We are now in the in the
- 28:16temporarily at least in the I say confines, but we are now
- 28:22under sacred time and sacred space.
- 28:24It's not a why how when when certain people talk about
- 28:30partaking in certain rituals or doing certain things, they lose
- 28:34track of time, right? What felt like minutes was an
- 28:37eternity or vice versa. What felt like I was gone
- 28:39forever was really just a 5 minute span of time and profane
- 28:43space, right? That's what we're talking about.
- 28:46When when those things happen that we have transcended and
- 28:49broken those barriers temporarily.
- 28:51And you know, whether or not you feel those things each and every
- 28:54time you have your moments of dedication or whatever, it it
- 28:58doesn't mean that you, you know you're not going to feel those
- 29:02things every single time. Don't.
- 29:03Don't. I don't want to be, you know, I
- 29:05don't want to be misconstrued and saying, well, just just
- 29:07because you defined your sacred space, you you need to be
- 29:10feeling like you're not a part of this world anymore.
- 29:12That's not don't expect that it may happen.
- 29:17You might. You might be really entranced in
- 29:20what you're doing and and and have certain things going on
- 29:23that can provide that experience.
- 29:28But just because it doesn't happen and you don't and you
- 29:30don't feel it doesn't necessarily mean that you're
- 29:32doing something wrong. But so yeah like hearth cult,
- 29:40the the the way that we interact with spirit, the way that we
- 29:46interact with the spirits that are in our profane space and
- 29:50time that live and interact with us on a daytoday basis.
- 29:55How we interact with them is going to help build our our
- 30:00world views and and and establish a a more holistic
- 30:03approach to how we later on engage with and deal with the
- 30:08divine or the sacred. So what that can be looking like
- 30:14what that could potentially appear as needs to start with
- 30:20some things And so I wanna go over just a few more than a few
- 30:24but I wanna go over some steps which again are not.
- 30:28This isn't like when I say blueprint, I'm like it's a very
- 30:32loose framework okay. So consider this.
- 30:34Take what I'm saying into consideration.
- 30:36If it fits great and if it doesn't then it doesn't.
- 30:40But one of the first things that you're going to to want to do is
- 30:43is when it comes to hearth cult right this is this is we're
- 30:45talking about things within the home right under the confines
- 30:48under the roof tree under within in within that home.
- 30:55It's not outside. So you want to locate a space,
- 30:59identify a space within your house to set up as sacred space.
- 31:03You might call it a shrine, you might call it an altar, you
- 31:06might call it anything, and it could be, again depending on
- 31:12your living arrangements, depending on your how much
- 31:16square footage you have, how much you know space you have for
- 31:19you, it could be as small or as large as you're capable of of
- 31:24doing. So, you know, it could be of the
- 31:25a corner of a room, it could be a mantle, it could be a shelf
- 31:29that you put up. It could be a, you know, a
- 31:31bookshelf or a shelf on a bookshelf.
- 31:33I mean it could be a little foot stool.
- 31:36It could be a small end table, really almost anywhere.
- 31:42And I've been in some pretty small houses and some pretty
- 31:45small living spaces that people have and you know, I've seen
- 31:50really, really nice arrangements of of what you might call an
- 31:54altar or a shrine. So again, whatever you got going
- 31:58on in your living space, however small or big it might be, if
- 32:02you're going to now approach realizing wow, after what he's
- 32:07talking about, I, I, I want to start focusing on my hearth
- 32:10cult. One of the first things you're
- 32:11going to want to do is define a space, OK, followed by setting
- 32:18it up. Now what could that be?
- 32:20A lot of people I know in the past have asked me, you know, I
- 32:25want to set up my my altar. I've never done this before.
- 32:29What do I do? Where do I start?
- 32:34That again is going to go more into your hearth cult.
- 32:41There is no one specific thing that one person or multiple
- 32:46people can say that you should have on your altar or your
- 32:49shrine or your your sacred space, that that that area that
- 32:51you have devoted or dedicated as sacred space for your dealings
- 32:58with the divine. Here's the other thing I say
- 33:00divine, but like the the spirits and why?
- 33:02Here's the other thing. There are people who I know who
- 33:04have multiple altars, multiple shrines, multiple places that
- 33:07they have in their living space for different things.
- 33:09There might be an ancestral altar which is dedicated just to
- 33:14their ancestors. I know people who have an altar
- 33:18for their postfeteer that have an altar for their Cove God.
- 33:24Then they have their altar for the gods and they separate those
- 33:28things for a reason. They don't want to have the
- 33:32space for the ancestors shared with the Cove God or the OR the
- 33:35hosveteer. They want them each to have
- 33:37their own separate living space, their own separate dedicated
- 33:43area. So that way when you go and you
- 33:44speak to the ancestors, you're not mixing the energy or mixing
- 33:48the thought processes of of honoring the Hosveteer or the
- 33:51gods or any other such thing like that.
- 33:52Your your, your mind is focused strictly on where you need to
- 33:57focus it on, right? So whatever that is, whether
- 33:59it's again a little corner, a table, a small bookshelf, A
- 34:09mantle, a shelf on top of your television entertainment system.
- 34:15I mean, I've seen all the different kinds of things, just
- 34:17anywhere, any, any, any way that it works for you, whatever.
- 34:20However you can make it work once you've once you've
- 34:23identified it, once you've established it as such.
- 34:27I've even seen people when it comes to like their Hoospeteer,
- 34:30they've they've put up little cabins or little little village
- 34:33huts or something, right? And they and they have little
- 34:37figurines and stuff that are the physical representation of the
- 34:40spirits that live in the home or the spirit that lives in the
- 34:42home. And so like they will again be
- 34:47able to focus that aspect of their spirituality on this is
- 34:51for the Hispetere, this is their home, this little Hut, this
- 34:54little cabin, this little whatever cottage, right, that
- 34:58little figurine that is the physical manifestation of the
- 35:01Cove God, the Hispetere. And and that is that is how they
- 35:07choose to identify it. But whatever it is, however it
- 35:10is, identify it, locate it and then start setting it up.
- 35:14How you set it up is going to be entirely up to you, right a lot.
- 35:17Again, the the little cabin or little cottage is an idea for
- 35:20your hospital here. You could make a little a little
- 35:24Hut or something you can get. I don't know, like there's ideas
- 35:27that that are around on on what you want to do and it and it
- 35:31really depends on your approach to your spirituality, you know,
- 35:34do you want to have something very Northern European looking,
- 35:37something Scandinavian looking? Do you want to have something a
- 35:40bit more southern like in the southern parts of Germany,
- 35:42northern Mediterranean? Do you want to have something,
- 35:45you know that is maybe more indigenous to Native American
- 35:50who knows, right? Like, I mean that's your thing
- 35:52you're going to develop that you're going to come up with
- 35:54that your own and that's what that's the beauty of hearth
- 35:58cult. It is your own, right.
- 36:00So here that's that that's an idea, right, Identify, locate,
- 36:05set it up. Next thing you're going to want
- 36:08to do is decide when and how often you're going to you're
- 36:13going to engage with with your with your VATE tier, with the
- 36:17with the whites, with the the cough God, with whatever it is
- 36:21that you're setting your space up for.
- 36:23Whatever your thing is that you're doing.
- 36:26How often are you going to be doing?
- 36:27It's going to be daily, weekly, you know, two or three times a
- 36:31week, morning, evening, at night.
- 36:35I mean, you've got to have something established.
- 36:38It can't just be kind of all Willy nilly.
- 36:43Again, it goes back to what the importance that he then replaces
- 36:45on orthopraxis right? The focus on doing it the right
- 36:50way and then doing it that way. That the the repetition of it
- 36:54and having those habits established, having that that
- 36:57custom, that tradition built right.
- 36:59So if you locate your your area that you're going to dedicate to
- 37:05your hearth cult practice, whether it's a prayer to your
- 37:08ancestors or or an offering to your house, house, God, or who's
- 37:12here. Once you've located it, once
- 37:17you've set it up, now it's time to decide.
- 37:19I will do this on the same day every week, every day, every
- 37:24week, certain days, every week, whatever the cadence, whatever
- 37:28the frequency is. That's one of the things you're
- 37:30going to need to establish and then continue doing it.
- 37:34Maybe you only start out doing it once a week, you know, maybe
- 37:36you don't want to over promise and under the liver.
- 37:39So you say, well, okay. Well, I want to.
- 37:42I don't want to, you know, say I'm going to do it three times a
- 37:44week or every day and then only do it twice.
- 37:47So consider that, right. Consider it being realistic.
- 37:49Maybe you, maybe you start off small and say, all right, I want
- 37:52to do this once a week, you know, every Saturday or every
- 37:55Monday morning or before I go to work.
- 37:58You know, when I end my day on Friday, it's going to be my
- 38:00prayer to my aunts at whatever, you know, figure that part out,
- 38:04Dedicate a specific time and date or dates to what you're
- 38:10doing and then see it through. The next thing you're going to
- 38:15want to do, obviously, is choose your offering.
- 38:18OK. You want to choose the offerings
- 38:22that you plan to give, right. So if it's again, like I
- 38:27mentioned earlier on, like, maybe it's your breakfast, maybe
- 38:29it's your dinner, maybe it's a portion of your meal, maybe it's
- 38:32something specific that they get every single time.
- 38:35That doesn't change no matter what you're having or what
- 38:37you're doing. And maybe your breakfast one day
- 38:39is, you know, bacon and eggs, and then then the next day it's
- 38:42a, you know, a burrito. Or maybe the next day it's not
- 38:46anything. Maybe you skip breakfast.
- 38:48But if your dedicated thing is to give to the vatier or to do
- 38:52your hearth cult stuff with, you know, a bowl of soup or a cup of
- 38:59porridge or some oatmeal or cereal or whatever it is, you
- 39:03know, maybe a little scoop of honey on some honeycomb or
- 39:06whatever. I mean, whatever The thing is,
- 39:10figure out what it's going to be and then be consistent with it,
- 39:14Have that consistency. And then, you know, consider the
- 39:19fact too that, you know, again, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm going back
- 39:24and forth with this. It has to be the same thing
- 39:27every time versus well, what does it feel right?
- 39:29Like what it what do you feel right?
- 39:31Maybe, you know, you ran out of something and you forgot to go
- 39:33to the store. You got to improvise, right?
- 39:35There's going to be times like that, I'm sure.
- 39:37But I think having a good strong approach to what we're talking
- 39:41about here, having your hearth cult built strong, is going to
- 39:43set you up better to avoid things like that.
- 39:46You're going to know when things are running low that I need to
- 39:48prepare, right? I need to go and I need to
- 39:51provide you know more things I need to get set up for with with
- 39:54more things that I need to see this through SO.
- 40:02I think that that is good discipline.
- 40:04I think that that is a good approach to have again for for
- 40:07future encounters that you want to have with the sacred, taking
- 40:11things seriously to the point that you're not just, you know,
- 40:14caught off guard that you're like, oh crap, I didn't bring my
- 40:16offering to the to the bloat today.
- 40:20What can I scrounge up here as a gift?
- 40:23You know, if you don't think about that, if you were being
- 40:25given something and somebody just like gave it to you out of
- 40:27necessity because they felt like they had to or that they forgot
- 40:31to actually do something meaningful for it, you know, for
- 40:34you or or to you that that that that gift would not bring.
- 40:37So, so, so powerful to you. You know it wouldn't mean as
- 40:41much to you. Whereas if they took the time
- 40:44prepared, made something, whether it was handcrafted or
- 40:49you know, they took the time to procure what it is that they
- 40:52needed to do and they did it with, with, with, with heartfelt
- 40:56intentions. Not only do you want to choose
- 41:01the offerings that you're going to provide during the ritual,
- 41:05you also want to decide where, when and how you're going to get
- 41:11rid of those things. Because after you perform your
- 41:18your ritual, right. Whatever that hearth cult thing
- 41:21is, let's say it's a prayer to your ancestors.
- 41:22And let's say the prayer is involving, you know, berries and
- 41:28and and and oats. I'm just, again, just using
- 41:31examples, right. Let's say that that's the thing
- 41:33that you provide for your ancestral hearth cult practice.
- 41:41And now you've got to figure out what am I gonna do with this
- 41:44stuff. Well, that's a great question.
- 41:47And I've been asked this before too.
- 41:48What do I do with my offerings after I'm done with them?
- 41:52And it's really very simple. You've got three main ways that
- 41:55you can safely and ethically dispose of your offerings.
- 42:03You bog it, burn it, or bury it, Whatever it is that you're
- 42:07doing, whatever The thing is that you're offering.
- 42:09If you're going to burn it right, you obviously would want
- 42:13to make sure that you can do so in a in a space or in an area
- 42:17that is not going to be harmful. You know, you don't want to
- 42:20light a fire in the middle of your living room.
- 42:21And if you're living in an apartment or out there on a
- 42:24common area sidewalk where there's, you know, people, but
- 42:29you know, maybe there's a spot nearby, a wooded area, that you
- 42:32can privately leave it to the land.
- 42:37Maybe not even necessarily bury it, right.
- 42:39But you can take those gifts. Let's say they're, you know,
- 42:43biodegradable food bits, you know, things that can then go
- 42:48from the gift that you gave to your house God or your
- 42:51ancestors, whatever. That gift can now be transferred
- 42:55to the land, and the land veteer can then receive it, you know.
- 42:59And so there's this exchange of weird disease.
- 43:01There's this exchange of the gift you know that you are are
- 43:06entering into, There's this web that you're tying yourself in
- 43:10and around, and then the things that are going on, there's an
- 43:13idea, right? You can leave it out for the
- 43:15land, the tier to consume. If it's not safe to do that, you
- 43:19can bury it again, considering the fact of what you're burying,
- 43:23what you're putting into the earth, is it going to be harmful
- 43:25to the earth? Is it biodegradable?
- 43:27You wouldn't want to put, you know, plastic out there in the
- 43:31ground that's not biodegradable. That's going to harm the earth,
- 43:35That's going to harm nature, That's going to harm things
- 43:37later on. It's not going to go away.
- 43:38It's going to stay there forever.
- 43:40So you wouldn't want to obviously leave a gift of
- 43:42something that is not natural, you know, like that just kind of
- 43:47goes back to what, you know. What I was saying is, is put
- 43:50some thought into what you're doing for the gift.
- 43:53Don't just be like Oh no, I ran out of you know, I ran out of
- 43:57the good oats that I give to my to my Hisfeteer and now all I've
- 44:01got is you know tricks serial or or or something.
- 44:05You know what I mean? Like put some thought behind it
- 44:07put some planning behind it and and don't give something of of
- 44:10less than what you would want to be given.
- 44:13You know, I, I remember one time a guy I used to talk to was
- 44:18like, I'm, I'm, I'm doing an offering to Thor, you know, And
- 44:23I and I he, he, he used a Red Bull or he poured out a Red Bull
- 44:28and I'm like, dude, you can do so much better than that.
- 44:32You know, You can, you can do better.
- 44:34You can cook a meal. You can, you know, even if you
- 44:38don't drink alcohol, hell, you can buy a good brew, you know,
- 44:44bottle of meat or or small beer, beer or something, right.
- 44:47Like something of of more value than a Red Bull.
- 44:51You know, full of sugar and nasty preservatives and stuff.
- 44:54Put some thought behind it, put some meaning into what you're
- 44:57doing, right. So again, whatever.
- 45:03And and that's so that's bog that that's Berry, that's burn
- 45:06and bog. Same thing.
- 45:07You know, if you can emulate or bury things or incinerate things
- 45:17as as as your gift, as as a suitable way of disposal or
- 45:22again, if it's natural food waste and and that that would be
- 45:25natural food waste, you can give to the land and then the land
- 45:28material will come and consume it, all right.
- 45:32So that's, that's that's one thing.
- 45:33The next thing I wanted to talk about was purification.
- 45:37Not a lot of people I think talk about this aspect of when we
- 45:42have a ritual that we're about to prepare for is purification.
- 45:48How do you decide on on on purifying yourself, cleansing
- 45:54yourself, right? You come home after a hard day
- 45:56of work where your work clothes are dirty, you're sweaty, you
- 46:00stank, you know, And then you just go and you pour out about a
- 46:04bowl of oats in the bowl and you have a fine.
- 46:06How do you do to the hosveteer you know?
- 46:09Or do you again approach the sacred space that you've defined
- 46:14that you've identified in your house?
- 46:18Have you you've done this in, in, in.
- 46:21Are you approaching this in a way that echoes benevolence,
- 46:25right, that you are highest in in your approach to things?
- 46:28Take some time, cleanse yourself, whether it be a
- 46:32shower. I know for myself, right?
- 46:36One of the things that I like to do is is not necessarily like a
- 46:38full shower with soap and water, but to go to the river, you
- 46:43know, and to let the waters of the river cleanse me.
- 46:47You know, like that's a space for me that I find to be very
- 46:51healing. I've talked about that before
- 46:54And some of my other content, right, like the river is my
- 46:56healer. It's like washing things away
- 46:59from me. Even though that, you know, like
- 47:01the water itself may have, you know, critters and and and bits
- 47:05and stuff floating around with it, it's still the fact that
- 47:08it's flowing water, it's moving water and it's and it's in my
- 47:10mind, it's in my heart, it's, it's cleansing me away.
- 47:13And other people look at that the same way that if if they're
- 47:15living near a body of water, they will to do something
- 47:19similar like that. Or maybe it's it's, you know,
- 47:23distilled water that you have separate again from like your
- 47:26tap. You know, maybe you've boiled
- 47:28it. Maybe you, maybe you put herbs
- 47:30or or resin or or, you know, fine essential oils or something
- 47:36like that in the water to create it as it being something
- 47:39separate from the rest of the water that you drink or bathe
- 47:42in. You know, something of the
- 47:44cleansing nature that you look at and say when I'm touching
- 47:47this, when I'm encountering this object, I am ritually purifying
- 47:52myself. So that way when I approach my
- 47:54sacred space, when I do my hearth cult stuff, I am now
- 47:58clean in front of my audience of who I want to to be there, you
- 48:03know, and be there in front of. So we talked about identifying a
- 48:12space. We talked about setting up your
- 48:14space. How do you want to set your
- 48:15space up? What do you want to look like?
- 48:17Maybe you already have a space and you haven't really spent
- 48:20much time doing a whole lot of set up on it.
- 48:23You just kind of, when you find things, you put it there, maybe
- 48:25now it's time to think about it, right?
- 48:27Maybe it's time to define it a bit more.
- 48:29Maybe it's time to cleanse it up a little bit.
- 48:31Maybe there's things on there that need to be rearranged or
- 48:34moved. Maybe there are things that need
- 48:37to be removed you know things to be replaced.
- 48:42Who knows. I've my my altar has has changed
- 48:45its look over the years many times you know and and and still
- 48:50will change its look many more times.
- 48:52I'm sure you know maybe not every week or every year but
- 48:56they're going to be times where I'm going to look at this.
- 48:58I'm going to say yeah there's there's things that I need to
- 49:00move. There's things I need to remove
- 49:04relocate. Right.
- 49:07Why is it all so important? Again I want to reiterate is
- 49:10important because Heathenry is an orthopraxic religion and it
- 49:14is more important for a lot of us to get the correct
- 49:19performance of right actions you know and that and that that is
- 49:26more important than the correct belief.
- 49:29Some other things to consider is, is this note right here that
- 49:32I'm putting on screen is that by performing the ritual actions
- 49:36repetitively and with frequency we can we can deepen our
- 49:41relationships with our ancestors and household gods, right the
- 49:45Hystia, the coast God and receive the benefits from these
- 49:52relationships. It goes back to what I was
- 49:56talking about with or what we hear and I was talking about
- 49:59today. But what we hear so often is,
- 50:00is, you know, it's better to give little than to over give.
- 50:06And the the the the road between friends that if you walk the
- 50:10road between friends, even though the distance may be long
- 50:12the the the IT, it, it's actually a short Rd. because
- 50:16there is more time being spent between the two.
- 50:19The the focus on these things, you know, the focus on
- 50:25meaningful repetitive action, approaching things with
- 50:29benevolence, highity. This creates in us a sense of
- 50:37sacredness. You know that that that we are
- 50:40bonding with what is unseen and those who are unseen.
- 50:43We are bonding with them in ways that we normally couldn't or
- 50:46wouldn't. If we're all just careless about
- 50:50it, if we're all Willy nilly about it, that's not going to
- 50:53set in us the the the world views that the the the concepts,
- 50:57the idea of being able to really and truly interact with the
- 51:01divine. And again, there are there.
- 51:04We we see this across many cultures.
- 51:06The dramatic people should be no less or any different when it
- 51:10comes to this stuff just because it's not necessarily documented
- 51:13or written down very specifically that, hey, you
- 51:16know, the Olaf Sons did it certain way and then, you know,
- 51:22the Alfred Sons did it another way and this is how they did it.
- 51:25And then we have it all written down exactly.
- 51:28Just because we don't necessarily have that doesn't
- 51:31mean that it wasn't done. It was done.
- 51:33We know some of the examples that I mentioned earlier.
- 51:36Again, if you go in the description and show notes of
- 51:38the episode, when you go in there and you find the the
- 51:43information in some of those source materials, you'll see
- 51:46that it was very specifically, it was orthopraxy.
- 51:51You know they didn't deviate, they didn't get out of the the
- 51:55the structure of what it was because they had this sense of
- 51:59if I don't there's consequence. If I if I break this pattern, if
- 52:02I if I don't adhere to this strictly that I'm going to miss
- 52:07out, I'm going to incur the wrath of of God's or or I'm
- 52:11going to you know, there's going to be consequences.
- 52:14And that is one of the the things that I think in modern
- 52:17times we have lost as heathens. You know there's this there's
- 52:21this overarching thought of just do whatever you feel like
- 52:26everything that you do, anything that you do it's fine.
- 52:29It's okay. It's you know your intentions
- 52:30are with the best of intentions it's it's going to be okay.
- 52:33I mean yeah like with yeah. If your intentions are right.
- 52:37But guess what like people there there's plenty of people that
- 52:41have the best intentions in mind when they're when they're doing
- 52:44really shitty things like let's be honest.
- 52:48So intention. Pure honest intentions.
- 52:53Yes. I mean I'm not I'm not trying to
- 52:55take away from that and and and anybody that knows me real and
- 52:58in person knows that I I I think that that is important but I
- 53:03also think there needs to be structure and there needs to be
- 53:06there needs to be that practice. You know what I mean?
- 53:08There, there needs to be that we do it this way this specific
- 53:11time because again it the reason why why that is so important is
- 53:15because it it it it strengthens our relationships with our
- 53:20ancestors with the local spirits that live with us in our homes.
- 53:24I mean we we share space with them.
- 53:27This isn't just our home. It's their home too, you know.
- 53:31And if the house is dirty, if it's unkempt, if it's a mess, if
- 53:34it's a disaster, if there's always fighting, if it's
- 53:36arguing, if it's that right, that is not a conducive place to
- 53:41have, you know, why would you want to live in a place like
- 53:45that If, you know, the Coast Guard, the, the House Whites,
- 53:48the goose fits here are not going to be happy, is always
- 53:51going to be that, you know, state of of turmoil that that
- 53:55disarray, that that unkempt, just unpleasant vibe to the
- 54:02area. You know.
- 54:04And I'm talking again about some very specific things when it
- 54:06comes to like how you approach or create sacred space in your
- 54:11home. And maybe setting up an altar
- 54:13like this can be stuff that you can, I guess, you know, again,
- 54:15framework that you can build around any sort of thing.
- 54:19Maybe you're a Celtic Pagan listening to this and all this
- 54:21is resonating and ringing. Very true.
- 54:24Again, Framework. Right.
- 54:27The purpose behind it, the reason behind it is to put you
- 54:29in that state of mind of when I come to this part of the the
- 54:33room, this part of the room is for those specific things, for
- 54:38me to talk to the specific person or persons or to interact
- 54:42with this specific spirit or entity, right.
- 54:47And that's it. When I create this sacred space,
- 54:51whether it be through fire or through incense or through
- 54:55sprinkling water or through smudging or whatever, you're
- 54:59again, your hearth cult practice would be.
- 55:02Because again, everybody is, you know, how do I create sacred
- 55:04space? What's your hearth cult on it?
- 55:07You know? Is it through fire?
- 55:08Is it through smoke? Is it through water?
- 55:10Is it through salt? Is it through crystals?
- 55:12I mean, it's whatever. That's your hearth cult.
- 55:14That is what you do. That is your hearth cult.
- 55:17That is your individual cult to practice how you create sacred
- 55:20space and and that's what's important because again when you
- 55:26when you get into the bigger dealings of of with the divine
- 55:31with the gods. When you talk about actual bloat
- 55:33ceremonies with with more people and everything that has to be
- 55:37established first before you can really and truly be ready to
- 55:41enter into that frame of mind to to to deal with what what's
- 55:45about to happen and to engage with what's about to happen.
- 55:49So I think that pretty well covered everything that I was
- 55:56wanting to say and I hope that you guys enjoyed it.
- 56:03I hope that you did and find this to be useful.
- 56:09I hope that you found it to be enlightening.
- 56:14Maybe something that you're gonna take and and consider
- 56:19employing in your spiritual practices, your individual
- 56:22cultic practices, your cult. If you don't have it, you maybe
- 56:27should, right? Maybe this is the time to wake
- 56:29up and consider the fact that, wow, I've been so worried about
- 56:33the gods, you know, the divine. What is outside of profane space
- 56:39that I haven't taken the time to consider what's going on in, in
- 56:45and around me. And then maybe ignoring those
- 56:48things have been one of the reasons why.
- 56:52Again, I don't know everybody's situation.
- 56:53So don't, you know, don't sit over, you know, me over here
- 56:56saying, well, Jesse's judging on his podcast.
- 56:58No, I'm just saying that, well, maybe because you've been
- 57:01neglectful, because there has been a disconnect with, you
- 57:06know, interacting with what's going on in profane space.
- 57:10Maybe that's the reason why things aren't feeling so
- 57:13connected with you on a grander scale.
- 57:15Maybe you again put that cart ahead of the horse.
- 57:19Maybe you need to hitch that wagon.
- 57:20Maybe you need to fix the wheels of the wagon before you hitch it
- 57:23up and start riding it. So there's my ramblings for this
- 57:28week on Hearth Cult and why it's so important.
- 57:31If you guys wouldn't care, check down or put down in the comments
- 57:36what you thought of this episode.
- 57:37If you have a Hearth Cult practice that you would be
- 57:40willing to share. Again, no pressure.
- 57:42This is the type of topic where I would not divulge my own
- 57:46hearth cult practices, at least not on this platform.
- 57:50I've shared some things that I've heard of, but that's that's
- 57:55that's not naming anybody specifically.
- 57:56That's that's things I've just either encountered or have had
- 58:00told to me and in full anonymity.
- 58:04Is is, is respected, you know? So ideas, thoughts, your ideas
- 58:09and thoughts are welcome. If you want to share them down
