- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I had a great holiday weekend.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you for giving me the day off.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_01]: And in time, anytime.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_01]: I literally avoided talking about this with you for the first five, ten minutes that we've been on our call before we started.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_01]: Because I was like, I will ask her when we get on.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, my.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted to be organic.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_01]: Did you catch my little Easter egg when I, uh, when I voice message you this morning?
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my God.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: What did you say?
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: I said, it's me.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_00]: Hi.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_00]: I, I truly didn't even catch them.
- 0:46[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't even catch them.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't even catch your own Easter egg because you started this with, can I ask you a question?
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I know.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_01]: And you said, do you know the song question?
- 0:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I listen to the album.
- 0:57[SPEAKER_01]: Did you really?
- 0:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, of course.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_01]: Why are you crying?
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: Because I've been really emotional this weekend Did you notice that I didn't answer you when you were like that's a Taylor Swift song I just went so I'm We're gonna Talk about you will just like who've been right along because I do that to you all that it's very time You got to me all the time.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you really bested me at my own game with that one I'm always dropping Taylor Swift lyrics that you and you don't get it.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: I know I didn't get it that you were doing it back at me
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: I love it literally so much.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't stopped listening to it.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like I'm Friday.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think I got like two hours of sleep because I went fell asleep Waiting for the music video and I woke up and I was like, I can't be asleep anymore.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: I have to listen to this album I love it so much.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: I literally this is the first time since it came out on Friday night That I have like been sitting in any sort of like silence that the silence is talking to you not listening to it
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm glad that we're taking you out of one thing you love and then do another.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: I know, right, into something else.
- 1:56[SPEAKER_01]: We're here to do something that we've never really done before, which is build like a fan fiction episode together, which excites me on such a level.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, spooky season.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we want to build a Halloween episode, but it's because this fall show, which everyone always associates with fall, doesn't really have a Halloween episode.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like it feels like there should be one.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: like they have a Thanksgiving wine, they have all these town events and it feels like it would fall perfectly into the Gilmourn girl sort of world because it's more seasonal than it is, like celebration of holidays, but I feel like because Halloween feels like more of like a seasonal holiday that it fits into like the backdrop of fall.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: that it would have been perfect to have like something happening where like the whole episode of Halloween.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: We only get like a glimpse of it.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: And um, she's wanted to own this number.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's true.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like I said to you, it's more of like spooky feelings.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: And the backdrop is like Laura and Babette kind of like planning their Halloween plans, but we never get to see them in costume or what would have unfolded for a Gilmore Halloween.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: But we're about to change that with a little fan fiction episode.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: We're just gonna see what happens with this one.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there have us prepared anything to intensely because we are going to build it together and kind of just see what happens.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_00]: It might be spooky.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: It might be spooky.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: It might just be fun.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, let's find out.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: So we're gonna flip a coin.
- 3:23[SPEAKER_01]: Heads is that it takes place in season two, tales is that it takes place in season five.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_01]: Are you ready?
- 3:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's tales.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: Which one was that?
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's season five.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: I'm actually excited if I'm being super truthful.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: I wanted it to be season five.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of prepared for both of them because it's like,
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: The season that it's end is like so important to like everything else it's gonna go on whether or not like we're a Chilton where their deans they were they're real or Logan's there or like totally They're repigning for Luke or Luke's in our life like it's just it's gonna change a lot So totally totally it's five
- 3:57[SPEAKER_01]: All right, before we actually really get into that, when did Dean and Roy break up do you think?
- 4:03[SPEAKER_01]: And see some five, like, ooh, good question.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, because she goes to do the life and death brigade article, we assume sometime in the fall, right?
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: So do we think she's still with Dean?
- 4:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's posting.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_00]: I say we do it like fresh after Dean and Marie have broken up.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so like, after the party's over.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, are you ready?
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: How do we want to open it?
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: Usually we open with a Friday night dinner.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_00]: See, cause like, I thought about like a Halloween episode of Gilmore Girls for a long time.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I always thought it would start with a town meeting.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'm down to start with a town meeting because the way that I always thought that it would be is that they would like, maybe I'm wrong, I think that they would lean into the kitcheness of Halloween and like be like six steps away from breaking the fourth wall that like they would be in the town meeting and like the lights would go out and the lights would come back on and Kirk is gone.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: without explanation, with no one really drawing any attention to it, Kirk is just no longer sitting at the front with everyone else.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe like one person calls attention to it, and it's probably Laura Lye, because for some reason, Laura Lye is like aware that things are a miss in the town.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: on Halloween.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: But she's the only one that seems to realize that things are going wrong.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I always thought that regardless of what happens at a go-more-girl's Halloween episode, that Kirk would for what some random reason that no one can explain just disappears.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_01]: I like it, I get down with that, and that's how it starts.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well, to that end, I feel like in the town meeting, Taylor, of course, would be at the home of it, planning, like their annual Halloween festivities.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: Well, what's the town of that would be called?
- 5:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, I feel like Taylor would do the same thing every year.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like at the end of season two when he plays the year laying at the movie in the Square night.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: that he does the same thing every year, and oftentimes caters it to like the family, you know, he wants like the key to dress up and the trick or treaters to come by, it's kind of like the like a spooked tackular.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like I spit that was exactly what I was thinking, a spooked tackular.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: Um, the stars hollow spooked tackular.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like, you know, the hay ride and like the corn maze kind of like what the build at the end of the series in season seven.
- 6:19[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: But he kind of wants it to be like this family, friendly, fun experience.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: And for the first time, somebody is being like, actually, I think that we should do something a little spookier.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_01]: Like, why don't we do something a little bit different.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 6:37[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like that person would be Laura Lye.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: She would want it to like emulate some of the scary movies that she's seen, but Taylor's really hard pressed for that because he's like, no, it has to be family friendly.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: This is Star's Hollow.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the people are turning me back would be in on that too.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: Totally.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: She's the one that's like, that's not very scary.
- 6:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, episode to the right, but that's a thing like,
- 6:58[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like, but that would be in the background being like, actually Taylor, I think that we should do it and then people start chiming in and he's like, okay, well, um, we'll see.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we'll take it to a vote.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: So like the first snippets of the episode is like, Laura like campaigning to plan this event.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: You don't think they would vote right there.
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think that Taylor would want a campaign for it because he sees how many people are starting to support it, so he would want time to go around and like convince people, I feel like in this meeting Luke is against the scary in like the scaring us of it, Luke is on Taylor side, that he doesn't want the spooky Halloween, but now he's dating Laura live.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_01]: So he kind of, it's not that he doesn't have a choice, but he kind of doesn't have a choice.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_01]: So it's like that episode of the office.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: When they have the two Christmas parties and Angela has her like not cracker Christmas, the tradition of one and then there's the margarita one.
- 7:48[SPEAKER_01]: And then the margarita one and like Pam and Karen are trying to convince everybody to go to their margarita party and everybody wants to but like no one wants to piss off Angela.
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: So,
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: Like, it's kind of one of those situations.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: Like, Taylor is Angela, yeah.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_01]: And Laura is Pam and Karen.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: Friday night dinner is a little uncomfortable because Emily and Richard are not speaking, or they're in summer houses, right?
- 8:15[SPEAKER_01]: But they usually have an event every year that they do.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: And they do their Halloween, they do.
- 8:21[SPEAKER_01]: But they're like,
- 8:22[SPEAKER_01]: like rich fancy Halloween so they host like one of our listeners actually DM does when we pose this question on Instagram and said it would be really fun if they did like a murder mystery.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: Friday night dinner.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_01]: They have their friends over kind of like they do for Christmas party, but they have this like very decadent like almost a recreation of clue.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they do it every year, but this year it's different because Richard and Emily are at odds.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: And Emily tells Rory and Laura lies.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, you have to be there and Laura lies like, I can't be there.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: We have this thing in town.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_00]: which usually doesn't stop them, because they seem to be able to have like 600 plans in one night, yes, totally.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: But Emily says in the same fashion that like, grand lets worry go do her thing and that'll do pig when she goes to the winter carnival with Dean and Clara and Jess.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_01]: She says like, you know what?
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: You go have a good time and so worry takes over planning.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: for LoroLi, so LoroLi has to go to the fancy Halloween.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_01]: LoroLi has to go to fancy Halloween and kind of like temper the waters between her parents, and she has to do with that Rory, which is very hard for her, but also how she can't play on this thing.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Is there not anything happening at Yale?
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: Because now she's like friends with like the life and death brigade, or like at least Logan.
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: I think that what ends up happening is in the town meeting Taylor calls it to a boat, and he's like, oh, LoroLi can't be there anymore.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I guess by default, Emory's like, no, no, no, I'm going to take over for her, vote is completely split down the middle.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, really?
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to do what I would have liked this spooky.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's even scarier, honestly.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_00]: Having a family friendly event amongst the spooky scary.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_01]: Now, worry has to plan this by herself, even though she's at school, like, doesn't participate in this many town events anymore.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, how did I get her up to into doing this?
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: Probably something at the paper that she's avoiding, because she's skipping out on things too, playing a Halloween party.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like worry is feeling the pressure because she's not as like, I don't know, I don't want to say she's not as like creative as her mom, but I feel like her mom is really the mastermind when it comes to building these town of that.
- 10:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, right.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: It's not that she lacks anything.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's just let's lower-life forte and yeah, I think worry's not as good with.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: situations like this for sure.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like she's doing research while she's at the Yale Daily News and Logan kind of comes along and it's like, what do you do?
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: I'm she's like, I'm trying to plan this thing.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_01]: It was like thrown upon me.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_01]: I like took it over for my mom.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: Is this when they're like flirty stage?
- 10:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she was like, was trying to get helping with like an article?
- 10:53[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, she's like, and she's like, I don't know what I'm gonna do.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like it's gonna be an absolute disaster.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_01]: But like, I'm gonna try.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_01]: She's trying to get people to help her out.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_01]: And everybody's helping her out in their own way.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_01]: Suki doesn't have time to help her because she's like, you know, planning something big at the dragonfly.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_01]: But her biggest task right now is that she keeps trying to scare Michelle.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_01]: And Michelle is not scared by her whatsoever.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like, she keeps like jumping out at him.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_01]: She keeps like planting things and he's just so unfazed.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I think is also like in keeping with like the dragonfly and how old it is in the renovations.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think that in suki trying to scare Michelle, they ultimately would both get scared.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: because they think that the dragonfly is haunted, but it's like a ghost there, and they're trying to convince Laura lie that the in is haunted, but it's haunted by a really nice ghost.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, it's like, it keeps doing like really odd, like really helpful things for the both of them, and it keeps like, they think it's each other, because Sugi was trying to scare Michelle a whole time, and he thought that they were trying to like, you know,
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: get back into the good graces with each other, but now they're scared because it's this nice ghost that's haunting them.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: And we're like, it's just like, what the fuck?
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's a nice ghost that's haunting us and how we know it's supposed to be scary, like, get away from the family-friendly side of things.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_00]: Like, yeah, it's a scary ghost.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's how to kill you.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, no, it's doing really nice stiff for us.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Because I love moments when like Michelle and Suki are like when they're pals.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: So they're like trying to convince Laura like that there's a really nice ghost at the dragonfly.
- 12:29[SPEAKER_00]: And it first she doesn't believe in the ghost at all.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: But then now she just wants the ghost to be scary.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_00]: She doesn't want it to be a nice ghost.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I love that.
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: She wants scary Halloween.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: And like no matter how hard she tries, she can knock its
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_01]: Her parents won't let her have scary Halloween.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_01]: Taylor won't let her have scary Halloween.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_01]: The nice ghost won't let her have scary Halloween.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if they should go to Friday night dinner first.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_01]: Well, worries not going, but if we should go to Friday night dinner first or go to the spook tacky layer.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like maybe start at the spook-tacular and then go to Friday night dinner because I've always felt that a Halloween Friday night dinner would involve, like, there's this fancy party that's going on and the lights go out.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_00]: The power goes out at the Gilmore.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: Much like I did at the beginning of this episode.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: Also, where's Kirk?
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's the other thing is I feel like he like intermittently appears, and then like everyone turned on to like, what's the purpose card like he just like appears and disappears throughout the episode without without explanation, there's nothing to it.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's just Kirk just keeps popping up around town without justification, I love power goes out at the Gilmors, okay, what happens to the party with the power out.
- 13:43[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, you know what I think.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's part of me that wants to like because the power goes out Emily and Richard are like We have to stop the party.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like okay, like the power goes out the power goes out by accident.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so then Emily's like you might as well go back to your spook Tacular but What's scary about it is because at the first Friday night dinner she was selling Emily so hard on the spook Tacular about how amazing it was gonna be that she couldn't miss it
- 14:10[SPEAKER_00]: that now that the spooky scary part of it is that her mother and her friends have followed her back to star's hollow and they show up because they didn't get to do their party.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_00]: because of how it went out.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: And Laura, I thought it was a win on behalf of Spooky Scary Halloween, that the night's ghost didn't win, night's ghost finished last, Spooky Ghost finished first.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: So she thought that it was a spooky win for her, but what the scariest part is, is now her family, as in Star's Hollow, with her friends.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: And Roy sees it, and I feel like Roy kind of feels like this is a disaster.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like she's like, I don't know what I'm saying.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_01]: Because this is what scary.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_01]: what kind of event do we feel like she plans?
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: Like I would think it'd probably be like a haunted house.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's like haunted house, but I definitely feel like Babette was really involved in it because she was the one who was like gunning for spooky scary Halloween in 2021 is loneliness number.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe it's like they set up.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: Was it because it wasn't it?
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: They're like a thing where it was like what's his name?
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: Why do I think if Babette says worry?
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't forget his name because he's like hanging out like genuinely, but so one of my favorite lines I don't remember exactly what it is, but she's like yeah, he just flails around a little bit and till he passes out Yeah That part always scares me genuinely
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: But maybe it's like that we're like, maybe by the way, went too scary.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, maybe it's like, maybe they went too deep into it.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: Well, maybe she says, maybe yeah.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: But that gets too into it.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_01]: And for it is like maybe, no, right?
- 15:45[SPEAKER_01]: Like, but that went too hard.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: And like now it's way too elaborate and it's not gonna work.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that like all week whether they've been planning us, they've been doing like rehearsals for it?
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: That like worries like too scary.
- 15:56[SPEAKER_00]: not scary enough up the scare and like they keep doing it for her again again and again.
- 16:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, everyone's kind of like auditioning for like how scary is scary.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, sorry.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: And so fun.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like Gypsy would be so down with that.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then I feel like what has Luke been doing this whole time?
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I was just about to say.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: Oh.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: Earlier in the episode, Luke says, okay, you can't be there like, all help Roy and I can do this together.
- 16:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'll build the haunted house and break and like arrange everything.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_01]: Roy will be in charge of getting everybody to do this because they like her because she is the perfect angel on top of a Christmas tree.
- 16:29[SPEAKER_00]: Of course.
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: But then Emily says, well, you're not bringing Roy, you have to bring Luke to the dinner.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_01]: Mm, okay, so together now, mm, mm, mm.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: So Luke had to go to this like a elaborate murder
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: So he like built everything and then left and then all this stuff started going wrong and where he was like, I don't know what to do.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: Then he shows up with Laura Lye and her whole family and they're like, okay, we're ready to be serious.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: The fear is here.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: The fear is here.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that Luke in any part, all of this is like maybe a little resistant to Halloween because he's genuinely scared.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_00]: He gets scared very easily.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_00]: I would love that.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: Like Baba and Mori like rehearsing
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: He was annoyed by it, but in part because like he's quick to get scared like he doesn't watch horror movies Because he yeah, he gets scared really easily.
- 17:20[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that would be so good.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: So he like doesn't want to do it But he's helping Roy because he just like when he gets there.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's like real jumpy.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love that.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: I love that so much because Luke always has like, you know, he's always grumbly about something But he ends up having a reason why.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's because he's scared.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I love that.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_00]: I love that being a part of his personality and maybe like when Laura Like is like there she was like, we need to make this more scary worry because her and Luke beat everyone else back.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then went Emily in
- 17:51[SPEAKER_00]: The crew arrived.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_00]: She was like, well, I got my wish.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_00]: She's curious to be super scary.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: What are they dressed up as?
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, great question.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: What do we think their costumes would have been?
- 18:03[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of think that Laura Lye would be something that, like,
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: no one understands who she is.
- 18:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like, no one gets the reference.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like, she keeps having to explain who she is, but when Emily shows up, she's like, why are you dressed as XYZ?
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: And she's literally the only one that understood it.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_01]: That would be hilarious.
- 18:24[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like Laurel I would have had her and Luke dress up as like a couple's costume because it's the first Halloween together.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't know what that would have been.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: I can't think, yeah, I can't think of exactly what it'd be, but maybe it's that when Luke isn't standing next to her, her costume doesn't make any sense.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I love that.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_00]: And the only person that understood it without Luke was Emily for whatever reason I don't know what it is.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: It definitely be like a reference to like an old movie or like a pop culture reference or something to it.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: It was like Roy's just like a witch.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_01]: a witch.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: I love it.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_01]: She was like, I didn't have time to plan an elaborate costume because or she was like, this is my, this isn't elaborate costume.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a spooky scary witch and Lorelei is like, like, like, pome for a head, like, or he come on.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: She tried her best.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: Totally.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that Richard and Emily have dressed up in a costume?
- 19:20[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe in like their murder mystery fancy costume, it'd be very, you know, Halloween meets Dior something, you know, it would be, maybe not quite like costumey, but it definitely she's very dressed up, very Halloween-esque, but not in a costume.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: They were a fancy Halloween party, murder mystery, you know, totally, very like miscarlet in the kitchen.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I feel like the panic of Rory being like, okay, this isn't scary.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't working.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_01]: Everything that we planned has gone wrong.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, she knows that some people have started to go inside and she tells her mom, she's like, this isn't working.
- 20:03[SPEAKER_01]: I messed it up.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm so sorry.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_01]: I know you were counting on me.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_01]: And they hear like people getting audibly scared inside.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_01]: and it is because the life and death brigade has come and and turned this into like one of their events to help worry out.
- 20:19[SPEAKER_01]: I love that they do that.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_01]: That's so nice of them.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: You would be like that's so endearing that they're scaring all of us all over for you.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like they've got their gorilla masks on.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing something really spooky scary in there.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what it is, but I'm not sure what it is either, but it's something spooky scary.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that with the thing with the life and death brigade is that it is too early at this point in worry and Logan's like friendship, ventral like situation, ship, that
- 20:51[SPEAKER_00]: It wouldn't be an outright like favor.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_00]: It wouldn't be like something that like they, he would like openly do to her.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not like he's gonna come up to her at the end of the night and be like, they're gonna have this moment.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be the life and death brigade.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_00]: Like almost like crashing the haunted house and making it waste-haired than ever could have been.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then like one of like the end cap scenes for like the end of the episode is like at the Yale Daily News.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: She's like,
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for your help and he's like what do you mean he's like pretending like he has no idea what he's talking about that like he is not admitting to the fact that he did help her or he did anything or that anyone from life and death brigade did anything for her he's just like I don't know what you're talking about oh he's like I'm not a part of that like what are you talking about like it's suddenly back to like
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: You know, very cat and mouse of like, yeah, because like she became friends with all those guys at the parties over so they knew her well enough.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_00]: But it's not something that he's like, you know, openly willing to admit that he's like flirting with this girl through big grand gestures.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_01]: In that same way, I actually feel like Richard and Emily would be walking through the haunted house together and Emily would get scared and Richard would instinctively kind of protect her and that would be a moment between the two of them.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_01]: Stop that then like at the end of the episode.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_01]: It's like almost like they're not really acknowledging that it happened.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: Like they're kind of like back to business as usual.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_01]: She's kind of just like
- 22:24[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, but it would kind of be the first moment that they have where it's like he's showing signs of affection towards her again.
- 22:30[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love that.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_01]: That would be so great.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 22:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, so we just talked about a lot of stuff.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: Let's, let's rewind it.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: Let's rewind and go back.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: So we started the town meeting.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: Kirk disappears.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: I love the, the idea of him just like intermittently showing up in disappearing the episode.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think like literally it's just like
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, oh, he didn't come today, it's like she was like, he was he was right there.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_00]: Right there.
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and everyone's like, no, he wasn't.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: Where?
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: No, he's not.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god intro love.
- 23:03[SPEAKER_01]: So then they have the town meeting and Taylor, once again, like brings up, we're going to do the spoutacular and moralize like there's nothing spooky about the spoutacular.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to do a spook-tacular to be spooky.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Bebette starts chiming in and is like, yes, absolutely, it should be spooky.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_01]: And Taylor's like, we've been doing this for years.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_01]: There have been no complaints.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: We need to keep it family friendly.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_01]: And Laurel Isaac, I think there's time for a change.
- 23:24[SPEAKER_01]: And I think we should take it to a vote.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_01]: And he's like, great, at the next town meeting, we'll take it to a vote.
- 23:28[SPEAKER_01]: They spend a little time kind of like, you know, talking to people throughout.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that Taylor does try to get Luke on his side about it and Laurel Isaac.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: And he's like, kind of wanting to, but like, Laura lies like, I'm, I'm your girl now.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's because he's a little bit too afraid of the things that she's talking about.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_00]: Like, in the diner, she's like, telling everyone about the blood that they'll be the scares.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like, everyone's going to be terrified.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:51[SPEAKER_00]: And Luke's like, why do you guys want to do this anyway?
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: Is this his dumb?
- 23:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_00]: Because he's scared.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_01]: Because he's scared.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_01]: So Laura like Halls worrying she's like, look, I need your help with this.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to talk about it tonight at Friday night dinner.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_01]: So they go to Friday night dinner and she's telling her all about it.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, it's going to be amazing.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be this.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be that and where he's like, okay, cool, calm down.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be there.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: But like, yeah, I get it.
- 24:10[SPEAKER_01]: And then Emily's like, when is this?
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, it's next Friday night and she's like, well, it can't be next Friday night because you're going to be here.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that in this and the part of it that Laura like has to go and worry doesn't is that.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: Lori takes over her mother's obligation to the spooktacular, the scare, the scare tackyler, I guess it's being transitioned into, that Laura life feels maybe a little sense of obligation to this that like she really wants to like keep her like dedication to the town because like this is what she wanted to do.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but Emily is like Richard and not your father, your father, and I are throwing this art annual murder mystery like Halloween
- 24:51[SPEAKER_00]: And in the same way that like the party's over, she was very skeptical of the two of them because they were together doing something.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: She was like, my parents, they're like joining forces together on this one night, maybe I should go.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_00]: Like, okay, I shouldn't fight this.
- 25:07[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I should, you know, and as much as she doesn't want to, she's like, maybe I should go and see what happens.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_00]: Sort of that.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_00]: I do though, like, the idea of their two-minded application because then Luke has to go, and that's when she's like, she roaps Luke into it, and she's like, oh no, because it's like always that thing is like, Lorela is always like living for the hope of it all, that things will be better.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_00]: That like she's gonna like one more she's always gonna give them one more chance to do something better And so she's like maybe I maybe I can like do this really quick with them and then come back and then she's like in Luke will come to Because Luke is also not a child and doesn't need to participate in Halloween.
- 25:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's true So worry gets roped into doing this and now has to take over for her mom But they still have the town still has to vote on whether or not they want to do this
- 25:53[SPEAKER_00]: But before we do the townboat, we have these scenes at the end, as we talked about, like, Suki, Michelle, like, scaring each other.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: But with that, like, you know, they're thinking the other person's being forgiving, but really it's this nice ghost that's bringing them back together and Laura lies like, no, it needs to be scary.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: We can't have a nice ghost here for Halloween, who wants to go to a haunted inn with a nice ghost.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, no, it's super nice.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_00]: And she's really upset because she's like, more scared, more blood, but everyone's just, you know,
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: a friendly ghost.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_01]: The next scene is them at the town meeting and Taylor trying to use the fact that Laura like can't do it anymore as it means to get them to not do it.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: But the town still wants to see it and worry social take over Luke says he's going to help her build.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_01]: This is before Luke knows that he's going to Friday night dinner.
- 26:40[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: And so town is split 50 50 and they're like, okay, let's just do both.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: So they do, they decide that they're going to plan both and Taylor's all smug about he's like, okay, well, we'll see, made the best man win.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a competition, but he's totally making it a competition.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's Taylor's way.
- 26:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's the dosy way.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's the stars on my field way.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: And so the next scene is worried doing research.
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: at Yale for this whole spooky thing.
- 27:05[SPEAKER_01]: She's trying to come up with really scary movies that she and her mom is watching.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_00]: She's trying to be really historically scary.
- 27:11[SPEAKER_01]: She's trying to be like very accurately accurate, like Salem which tries to look like, you know, things like that.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: She was like, it's this is scary because this actually happened in that
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: Because, like, Laura, like, wants people like jumping out of coffee in some literary, like, that really wouldn't make sense to, like, the area that we live in.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_01]: So, Logan sees her doing this, you know, flurry sees all her research, asks her what she's doing, and he's just kind of like, oh, well, that sounds fun.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: Good luck with that.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, I'm in way over my head, but I'm going to make it look like the accurate.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: And, like, I think for some kind of, yes, he's looking
- 27:49[SPEAKER_01]: But like I think he is also like this sounds really lame.
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: She's just trying to be super-spoken and accurate and the sounds really lame.
- 27:56[SPEAKER_00]: But we don't know if you won't tell it though, of course not.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that when Laura like tells Luke that he's going to this that he has to go?
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: That, like, this scary part of Lucas, he's like, oh, go, because he's getting, you know, getting away from the screen, right?
- 28:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh, that's so great.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: And even think about that.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: But then when they go to the Gilmores, the lights go out and he's like, oh, my god, he's like, suddenly like really freaked out and she's like, what's your problem?
- 28:21[SPEAKER_00]: Like, it's just a lights.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like, you know, those kids when you're in elementary school, when the lights go out in the country when they scream, I feel like that's going to be like, oh, my god, oh, my god, oh, my god.
- 28:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: So then it's the night of the event.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_01]: Taylor has his family friendly fun.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody who wants Taylor dressed as great question.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: I want to say like, maybe a really friendly vampire.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know why I feel like or a magician.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_01]: He stresses a magician.
- 28:45[SPEAKER_00]: He's totally a magician.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_01]: Because he loves, you know, talk about like when he gets punched drunk and talks about being a magician at the dance marathon.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_00]: And you know what's funny is that he's like pretending to do tricks all night, but he does one and when he does it, Kirk reappears.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_00]: Like for no reason, like actually related to it, he wasn't ever trying to make it do that, but we noticed that Kirk is suddenly like returned.
- 29:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I love that.
- 29:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think that that's kind of like his last trick.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then boy picks up her cell phone.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: She calls her mom who's at Friday night dinner, who's at the murder mystery party.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, Taylor just pulled Kirk out of absolutely nowhere.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, I knew he was missing.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: I knew he was missing.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, how am I missing this?
- 29:26[SPEAKER_01]: And that's how we transition into Friday night dinner.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: And the power goes out.
- 29:30[SPEAKER_00]: But they're there.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: But they're there.
- 29:31[SPEAKER_00]: They're so scared.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: But before that is Laura like dressed like for the murder mystery, did she like lean into it?
- 29:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like is it like a 1920 theme or like you know, is there like a sort of like spirit?
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Laura like really leaned into it.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_00]: She's actually like this is kind of fun.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: I, yeah, I think that I think that that could be possible.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe that's why Emily knows who she is.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: But note when she does arrive at the spoof tackular and starts hollow everybody's like, who are you dressed up as?
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: All right, and maybe Emily has like blood red martini.
- 30:04[SPEAKER_00]: Ooh, yeah.
- 30:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's like the rory, but spooky.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like vampires blood or something.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: So then, you know, we're at this party, Laura like it's another phone call from Rory after the power has gone out and she's like, I don't know what to do, but that like put together this whole thing, but things aren't working.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: I need Luke here.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: and Lora lies like, okay, we're gonna go to Star's Hollow.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_00]: And Emily's like, yeah, you might as well just go back to your thing.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: Like, if it's gonna be so fun anyways, just go.
- 30:35[SPEAKER_00]: And Lora lies like the relief, like the scary ghost on her side.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like spooky scary skeletons.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: It's all in her favor.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: So Laura Lyon Luke show up and Luke is like, okay, what's not working?
- 30:47[SPEAKER_01]: What's not happening?
- 30:48[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just mayhem like and it keeps scaring him because people keep coming up to him and he's just like so jumpy and he's like five feet back.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_01]: The little kids keep coming up space.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like they've got jam hands.
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: Get them away for me.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_00]: They say trick or treat and he just doesn't know how to handle it.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_00]: But all on the name of Helping Loyalai.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_00]: He'll do anything.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: Of course.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: And so maybe he's the one that goes inside and says he's going to start fixing things even though he's very scared.
- 31:14[SPEAKER_01]: And he gets scared by the life and death brigade.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, Luke or so sorry, but as he goes inside the girls turn around and Emily and return to their with their friends.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because they're like, this isn't scary enough, and then that's when Laura lies like, well, this just got a measure of police care.
- 31:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, exactly.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: And so Luke comes out and he's like, you did not tell me that this was going to be the case.
- 31:36[SPEAKER_01]: You said it wasn't scary.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he thinks it's a joke.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_00]: That like, she brought him back and yeah, he was going to fix something.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to make it scarier, bringing the blood, but like he comes out like maybe
- 31:47[SPEAKER_00]: and comes back out and things are a ride.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 31:50[SPEAKER_00]: And Babette and Mory were like, that was kind of like after they leave the hay bail maze.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, that was amazing.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go again.
- 31:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_01]: But Babette and Mory are super impressed.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_01]: What are they dressed as?
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: Great question.
- 32:03[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like they'd be dressed as Sunny and Share, but like zombies and Sunny and Share, you know.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: But imagine if like morning was Sherrin But that was no it's a verse because of because she's so tiny Exactly Me that'd be great and like people keep coming in and out and they love it.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: They're having so much fun They're like that is so scary I'm where he's like what is scary and she goes inside and realizes that the life and death brigade has like turned this into an event And they're all in their gorilla masks are you keep a shell?
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: Do they show up to this too?
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh great question because I feel like
- 32:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I would love to see Michelle dress in drag like Michelle is dressed like Celine Dion Celine Dion Perfect, he's dressed as a Celine Dion or maybe he and Suki both show up as Celine Dion and that's why they get into a fight He's like I told you why I was coming in Celine Dion
- 32:56[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 32:57[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:03[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:04[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:08[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:09[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:11[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:16[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:17[SPEAKER_00]: She's like, how are you doing?
- 33:18[SPEAKER_00]: She's like
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: and they were friends, but they go in, and they're another angry and each other, like it kind of just like everyone's going through.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: I also think to that end, the irony of Laurel, I not going through her own like spook tackyler because Lucas scared, and he finally admits to her that he's scared.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_01]: And she's like, that's what we can say outside.
- 33:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_00]: And then Lori decides to go in by herself, because like we have the Emily and Richard go through, you know, and they like kind of have this moment.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_00]: And Lori goes through by herself, and there's this one individual scary person.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_00]: that takes a liking to her and she knows and they know that she knows and we know that she knows and we know who that is when she gets to the other side she's like what a fun time but it's not until she goes back and she's like things he's like I don't know what you're talking about yeah oh I kind of love it
- 34:07[SPEAKER_01]: How do we want the episode to end?
- 34:09[SPEAKER_01]: So we have kind of that finalized moment with, you know, Rory and Logan in the Yale Daily News.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_01]: We have Emily and Richard kind of trying to brush off what happened and continuing business as usual.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like this episode kind of like is a wash of like all of the episodes between parties over and like women of questionable morals because it's kind of like fits into all of them.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 34:31[SPEAKER_01]: I also wonder if at some point maybe this is going too far, but it would be really interesting if like no way to go too far Tell me about Dean showed up and Jason showed up like like it's scary because her ex-boyfriends It's like ghosts of of boyfriend's past yeah show up who like Lindsey shows up like you know like people Let's skip town.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: She's gone.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: That's federal is she turned right around and found a new town That's fair.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: I was just thinking like spooky in the same way that like Emily and Richard show up
- 35:00[SPEAKER_01]: And that's Boogie for Lorelei, but like, yes, the life and death brigade shows up for Lorelei.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_00]: What are you talking about?
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: What are you talking about?
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, exactly.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think that in some ways, like, her kind of, like, taking this on and doing it on her own, and trying to walk into a haunted house by herself, is a little bit, like, a haunting for Lorelei, because, like, she's seeing everyone in a couple, and, like, Lorei since, like, the first day that we saw her has had a husband.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, we're like had a love interest.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so maybe like what's spooky for her is seeing everyone kind of pair off because Lane came with Zach And so like her go to person has someone L'Oralize not going through because she's staying with scared blue So it's maybe like the scary part for her is that there's no one that showed up for her But the person that showed up for her like did the most for her So it's spooky, but then she goes in and it's like maybe not so spooky.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah
- 35:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, oh, I kind of loved that, like taking the lead.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because she's obviously already done that with you jump, I jump back, but it's like that's always what I've wanted to see more of with Lori is like taking the initiative to like, do something by herself with like, I mean, the end goal can be love, but like the first steps are made by herself without like the encouragement of someone so maybe like being like, oh, I'm gonna go by myself.
- 36:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, inside the scary bit is like a very nice, blonde boy in a gorilla mask.
- 36:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, he's trying to scare her, but not too hard love.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_01]: I think that I also, like, the idea of, like, Laura Lynak going into the haunted house because she knows that, you know, it's scary for Luke.
- 36:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then instead, they just kind of go home, which is what Luke wanted to do anyway.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I think the whole time, he's like, why can't we just stay home?
- 36:38[SPEAKER_01]: Why can't we just stay in?
- 36:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, why can't we just do, like, why can't we just treat it like any other Friday night?
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think that any of him would want to, like, acquiesce to what Laura Lynak wanted?
- 36:47[SPEAKER_01]: That's like, for sure, maybe he says Dick's a role and then she's like, no, we don't have to do this.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and they go home and they're going to watch a scary movie and he's like, absolutely, no, definitely.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_01]: She's like, well, we at least have to go home and watch, you know, saw and he's like, no, yeah, or she's like, I'll cover your eyes for the scary part.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 37:06[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's cute.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: I love it.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then that's when we end, I guess at the Yale Daily News and he's like, I don't know what you're talking about.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_00]: We get, and then we get created by Amy Sharim Paladino.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_01]: So where would Emily and Richard's button be?
- 37:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think their button is in Star's Hollow, that like, oh, they brush it off and Star's Hollow when they, um, they're leaving, because they came separately, they came in separate cars.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, yeah, love that.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and so there's like this like moment where it's like things could be okay, but like because they get like caught up in like the allure of a haunted house and then when they get out, the mystique of the haunted house is gone because they
- 37:49[SPEAKER_00]: have to go their separate ways and like our brought back to the reality of like yeah we've made this decision
- 37:55[SPEAKER_00]: and maybe that's what's the scariest part of it.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_00]: The scariest part for everyone seems to be not the scary haunted house.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_00]: It seems to be reality and what the scary haunted house reality is.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because that's always the case.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_00]: If we look at every younger girl's episode, that's really, they're all haunted.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_00]: And they're all scary.
- 38:11[SPEAKER_00]: Very, very scary.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_00]: Very scary.
- 38:13[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that there's would be the reality of like we have to go ourselves.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because this is a decision that we made before we got into the haunted house.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think Taylor likes it?
- 38:24[SPEAKER_00]: Did he have a fun time in the haunted house?
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think maybe he went in with Miss Patty and he's like, I don't want to do this.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: And then he comes out and Patty's like, that was fun and he was like, he was like, he was so pretty.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: He was fine.
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: I think he secretly likes it, but he's like next year.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: We're just doing the regular spook-tacular.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like I want.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_00]: And everyone's like, yeah, let's just do that.
- 38:44[SPEAKER_00]: Everyone's just trick or treating next year.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 38:47[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'd watch that episode.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: I would too.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: We got the bones of the episode, but there needs to be some more a storyline to be storyline in, like, something like that out.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like the backdrop of it has, like, the making of, like, a fun, a fun time.
- 39:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, totally.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_00]: I like it.
- 39:02[SPEAKER_01]: And I get down with it.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think we could have watched this episode.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_00]: I will say if we were going to do a season two, my plot line with Jess had just played like a really big role.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_00]: Did he?
- 39:14[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because it's like the whole like chalk outline thing.
- 39:18[SPEAKER_00]: We're like things are going wrong and everyone's thinking that it's just and so like Luke is like suddenly It's like there was like a Luke aspect to it that like everyone's blaming Jess, but then there is a very like justifiable reason for why everything happened That like wasn't Jess, but then there's like one thing at the end that they're like oh another thing and they don't think it's just as small But Jess actually did it just actually did it
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Jess would be a big mischief night person.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, for sure.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_01]: It would be totally get down with mischief.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: And like the, like, of course, the person who is with Roy is dean and dean is not a Halloween person.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_00]: It'd be a whole different, it would be a whole different situation.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: That's why we had to pick the season first.
- 39:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 39:58[SPEAKER_01]: Because it would be so different.
- 40:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I was happy because I wanted the life and death brigade to be involved.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_01]: And I knew that if the life and death brigade wasn't going to cause mayhem, it would be Jess.
- 40:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, maybe.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_01]: But I do like your storyline.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's very exciting.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because I've I've always thought that the scary part for Laura lie of like a Halloween episode would be the power going on at Fred and I dinner and her family ending up in like the space that she like had that she's so excited for it.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love that.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're the things that show up to hotter.
- 40:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I really love that.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I wish I'd put more thought into like the
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: like ghosts of boyfriend's past with Jason kind of just exiting the picture and we never really come again.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_01]: We're in Dean's relationship just ending and her having another love interest obviously lower lies with somebody else.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know if we ever revisit it.
- 40:49[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe we can throw it in there somewhere because I think that like haunting things can be more than just spooky scary blood and got as lower lies keeps saying like these are the scariest things and it's like
- 40:59[SPEAKER_01]: know they're not.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_01]: There are indeed things that are scarier.
- 41:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that's what I think I would want to pop up throughout the episode that we like I guess didn't quite work into it is like what parts of like your day-to-day life are haunting and are haunting you.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, unlike the choices that you've made in the past and how that led you to here.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: Oh yeah, for sure, for sure.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_01]: I love it, but I like the episode we came up with again.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's like just the bones of it.
- 41:28[SPEAKER_01]: It hasn't really been just came up with them.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_01]: I know what that really came up with that here.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_01]: And that was exciting.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: That was fun.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: We totally need to do this more often.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: I really want us to do some fan fiction episodes together.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_00]: There's another holiday that I feel like they didn't quite cover until we'll season seven, but I don't really recognize that.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's as much fan fiction as we just came up with.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_00]: Literally.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a Christmas episode.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because we have forgiveness and stuff, but it's two weeks before Christmas.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then Mary Fisticuffs, as I would just note, Santa's secret stuff.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: in season seven is after Christmas because Laura like saved it.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: Why didn't Logan come back for Christmas?
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: That's always the biggest question for you.
- 42:08[SPEAKER_00]: But I feel like there's like a space to make like a more Christmas holiday jamboring.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, she's already got a name.
- 42:16[SPEAKER_00]: Can't wait.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that was so much fun.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_01]: I'm glad that we got to celebrate Halloween.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: together and like a very gill more away.
- 42:23[SPEAKER_00]: Are you a Halloween person?
- 42:24[SPEAKER_00]: I was for a while, because I know some people are like crazy.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: Halloween.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_00]: I love that.
- 42:30[SPEAKER_01]: I used to get really into my costume.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: The first Halloween that I spent here in New York, I actually worked the Halloween party.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: It's sleep no more.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_01]: It was very, very exciting, a very elaborately planned.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_01]: I was the mad hatter, so I had like very extensive makeup that I did on myself and like these huge lashes and I made this really intricate hat with a card in it.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I was very, I got really into it for a couple years after that I would dress up if I had a place to go.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like, if I had a Halloween party, but I think the last time I dressed up for Halloween was in 2016.
- 43:03[SPEAKER_01]: ever since then it's just kind of been like you know what I'd rather stay in and like maybe eat some candy watch it like a nice candy.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_01]: Scary movie or just like a seasonal movie like I like watching practical magic, hoax, pocus, yeah, honestly Halloween town loved Halloween.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_00]: You know what's really random is like most of my Halloween spent in New York just say how much Christmas movies and my Christmas pajamas because I'm one of those people.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, the clock turns
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's me.
- 43:33[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I love that, I love that.
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know I love the holiday season.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_01]: I just love to bask in the spooky season for as long as I can, because I love fall so much.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I like fall, but I've never been a Halloween girly.
- 43:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Halloween for me, it's always like, ebbed and float.
- 43:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's always made me feel sad, really.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_00]: Suddenly, the end of this episode is therapy.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, Halloween is always made me feel that way.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, and so I'm always glad when it's over.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: Well, also when it's over, we're headed towards Thanksgiving, we're headed towards Christmas, our birthdays, you know, like after Halloween, it's kind of the countdown towards those things, so I understand.
- 44:11[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I feel like that's what we're doing here.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, there's so many fun upcoming holiday, especially episodes coming our way.
- 44:18[SPEAKER_00]: I know, after Halloween, so I'm really excited too.
- 44:21[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the milestones that we'll be celebrating in our next episode is it will be our 50th episode.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's so weird.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe that.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_01]: It's not our 50th Gilmour to say.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's our 50th which includes Gilmour to consider.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: It excludes Patreon episodes.
- 44:35[SPEAKER_01]: But like, it'll be our 50th published episode here, which is so exciting.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: I know.
- 44:41[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm going to find some fun ways to celebrate that with you all.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: And we'll have more to say on that next episode.

- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: What is that?
- 45:06[SPEAKER_00]: Are they singing now?
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: They're singing.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: This kid is screaming at the top of his lungs.
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: I kind of like love that they're screaming in the back of this episode, actually it's very
