Transcript
- 0:05Hey book babes, welcome back to 2 Girls 1 TBR, your chaotic book
- 0:09besties. Here to wreck your reading list.
- 0:111 morally Gray man at a time. Now, before we dive into all the
- 0:16spicy goodness and dark goodness we have planned for quarter
- 0:20three, we have some bittersweet but super exciting updates about
- 0:23the show's lineup. As we step into season 4, you're
- 0:27going to notice the main rotation looks a little
- 0:29different. Our absolute favorites, Heather
- 0:32and Chelsea are stepping back from their weekly main episodes,
- 0:35but they are absolutely not gone.
- 0:37They are officially our bonus chapter besties for right now.
- 0:41They'll still be popping up for special segments and guest
- 0:44appearances, so you'll definitely haven't seen the end
- 0:47of them. But for this new chapter comes
- 0:50brand new era for the show. I am so incredibly thrilled to
- 0:53introduce my permanent partners on this podcast, making their
- 0:58very first appearance today. Katie, Kirstie and Jess, they
- 1:03are here to help me tackle this massive TBR list and I cannot
- 1:07wait for you all to get to know them.
- 1:09Girls, welcome to the main rotation.
- 1:11So why don't you all take a second and say hello and let
- 1:15everybody know you know a little bit about you or what you're
- 1:18currently reading? I'll go first.
- 1:20So yes, my name is Katie. I absolutely love where I read a
- 1:26little too much. My mom thinks I have a little
- 1:28bit of an obsession. I have 6 kids and I adore them
- 1:33and they drive me crazy. I started something really fun
- 1:36with reading this month. For the month of June I am doing
- 1:42nothing but rereads trying to figure out how I got to the like
- 1:47the books and the genres that I read now.
- 1:50So I'm I'm calling at my origins of a reader journey.
- 1:53So I went, I went way back to where like literally on on
- 1:58Kindle Unlimited, you can find this by the way, it's actually a
- 2:00fun thing to do if you're a KU user.
- 2:02But and went back to like the first books that I purchased and
- 2:06borrowed and started rereading them.
- 2:09And then I realized there's no way I can get through all of
- 2:12these books. So I started skipping ahead and
- 2:15like genres. So when I, I would read one book
- 2:18from a genre and then, you know, move on and and so on and so
- 2:21forth. So I've DNF Ed a lot of things
- 2:24that I loved and I have gotten into things more that since I've
- 2:31started this. So it's been it's been a fun
- 2:33thing. So that's what I'm doing for the
- 2:35whole month of June. Well.
- 2:36That's neat. What book did you find that you
- 2:40thought you absolutely loved that you did DNF?
- 2:43What was something that you that you thought was the greatest
- 2:46thing? And now looking at it different
- 2:48eyes, what do you what would you say?
- 2:51OK so I didn't absolutely love it but OK.
- 2:57Honestly the the witching hour that series by Anne Rice.
- 3:02So at the time I loved it and it was fantastic and really enjoyed
- 3:09it. Then like this time I DN napped
- 3:11it because I have forgotten just how weird it gets.
- 3:16If anybody's read it like Anne Ryan still like she is out
- 3:19there, she is an out there reader and I read Sleeping
- 3:22Beauty's Punishment. I read it the first time and
- 3:25read it all the way through the second time.
- 3:27I was like I can't believe I actually read this and had a
- 3:32anything positive to say about it because it is freaking
- 3:35horrible. So isn't that weird?
- 3:37You know how like you'll read something and then in hindsight
- 3:40and you go back and it's it's not the same feeling and the
- 3:44same vibe you had the first time around.
- 3:47Oh my gosh, yes. It's it's been crazy, but it's
- 3:50super fun. And I have rediscovered like my
- 3:52love of vampire romance. So that's been fun.
- 3:57Oh I do love a good vamp. Well right now I'm reading
- 3:59Kingdoms of Silent Sorrows by AG Harris and that has vampires in
- 4:04it and it's very good so you might want to try that one out.
- 4:09Yeah, if it's got vampires or monsters or anything paranormal
- 4:12or like Academy based, I'm so here for it.
- 4:16This one's good and she has book 2 done and it's at the editor,
- 4:20Book 3 she's working on right now and it's going to be, I
- 4:23think she, I'm from remembering what she told me the other day,
- 4:27five books. So it's really good.
- 4:31So that's fantastic. All right, Kirsty, let's hear
- 4:34about you now. So what are you doing?
- 4:36Hi, I'm Kirsty, if you want to find me on Instagram, I go by BK
- 4:43dot reads under score. I'm currently OK.
- 4:48So I'm currently in Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.
- 4:51I do have a funny accent. I'm from Australia.
- 4:55My accent is a little bit different for everyone else's,
- 4:58however. Each week I'll probably be
- 5:00popping in from a different location because my husband and
- 5:04I are about to drive the Pan American Highway.
- 5:06So that goes all the way from Alaska to Argentina, which is
- 5:10pretty cool. That's a little bit about me.
- 5:14I read anything and everything in all honesty, and you'll
- 5:18probably see that when I come with you from what I read each
- 5:21week to week. Today I actually just finished
- 5:24this one, which is the lighting is terrible. close to You by
- 5:29Anissa Renzo, which I know Rebecca will hate because it's
- 5:34classified as YA. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 5:38Yes, absolutely. However.
- 5:40Nothing against, I'm not yuking you're young but.
- 5:43I know, yeah. Not.
- 5:45Normally no, no, not normally can I either.
- 5:48However, I don't know if I'd classify it as YA it's it's
- 5:53definitely clean. There's no.
- 5:57But it was. It was.
- 6:01Your sound effect that was so. I'm sorry, Kirsty, could you do
- 6:05that one more time? I didn't hear it very well.
- 6:07I don't know if I could do it again, I'll try anyway.
- 6:12I love. That you did it again, that's
- 6:15amazing. I'm sorry.
- 6:18I'm sorry. Yes.
- 6:21So it's clean, but there's no it's very deep and emotional and
- 6:27I've don't think I've ever cried as much in a book as I did in
- 6:31this. It's very traumatic.
- 6:33A little bit dark if you will, but contemporary dark.
- 6:37Not dark like Fucked up. Not dark like.
- 6:42OK. But yes, so.
- 6:45She did you. Finish it or are you still?
- 6:48No, I no, I finished it today. I haven't yet picked up another
- 6:51book because I'm too distressed from this one.
- 6:56Is it a stand alone or is it a series?
- 6:59It will be a series. She's just finished writing it,
- 7:01but this is so she indie published it in March and then
- 7:05it pretty much automatically it straight away got picked up to
- 7:09be tried published. So it's going to be
- 7:11traditionally published to be released at the end of this
- 7:13month. But we'll already be so probably
- 7:17about when this comes out, it will be out in the world.
- 7:20For everyone to read. The mark of a very good book,
- 7:22though, is, you know, if you get that emotional moment, if you
- 7:27cry for a book, that I've had books that have done that to me
- 7:32and they have been absolute five stars for me.
- 7:35If a book can draw that kind of emotion from you, you know it's
- 7:39a good one. Yeah, 100%.
- 7:42And I've never like at 6% of the way through this book.
- 7:45I was crying like, that's to me. That's wild.
- 7:49So she got me good. Would recommend if you need
- 7:54something to destroy your soul a little bit.
- 7:57All right, OK, Jess. So now let's see what what is
- 8:00happening in your world. OK, hi guys, I'm Jess on
- 8:04socials. I'm at turn the page with Jess.
- 8:09I am reading. I have a small problem where I
- 8:12read too many books at one time. So for my physical book I have
- 8:19two physical books that I'm reading. 1 is the Blood Kingdom
- 8:23by Kate Cunningham. It's like vampires first in a
- 8:26trilogy. She's local to where I am in DC
- 8:30so that was a really cool book to pick up.
- 8:33I'm loving it so far. And then I also picked up a ROM
- 8:37com by Amy Dawes called Wait With Me, which is really cute.
- 8:42OK, for my Kindle I'm reading an arc called The Wild born by
- 8:49Perry Torani. It's like sci-fi, dark romance,
- 8:54paranormal. It's got hot aliens.
- 8:57I'm here for it and I'm eating it up.
- 9:00I know we had talked to Rebecca about me wanting to start
- 9:04Crescent City because of the upcoming release and all that
- 9:07jazz. I don't know if any of you guys
- 9:13have also read Crescent City, but like what the fuck?
- 9:17What the fuck has not all I have to say?
- 9:22Are you beyond? You're beyond chapter 5 I'm
- 9:24assuming? Yes.
- 9:26Yes. OK, this is not.
- 9:28Making me this is not making me want to read this.
- 9:31No, no, in a good in a good way. It's it's the event that happens
- 9:40in in the first book, and you're going to be chasing the fallout
- 9:47from this event through the entire series through so, so, so
- 9:52like all basically, like Bryce thinks she knows something or
- 9:57she thought she knew something and she never really truly did.
- 10:02And so she's chasing these answers all the way through, and
- 10:06it is so good. It is so it's really good.
- 10:10It's really good and I'm listening to the Graphic Audio
- 10:13version and highly recommend. Highly recommend but.
- 10:20I loved it. That's all I'm reading.
- 10:23That's the moment. You do a lot.
- 10:26I know I can't do that. I can focus my, I guess my mind
- 10:32as I can focus on one book and one book now.
- 10:36Right now I am doing something different than I or I I normally
- 10:40read everything that's in a series all the way through
- 10:43before I go to something different.
- 10:45But I read Your Path is Sorrow by Parker A Garner, and then I
- 10:51started reading AG Harris's book They're Kingdoms of Silent
- 10:55sorrows before I got to what is it?
- 10:59Your path is sacrifice because I have book 2 sitting here.
- 11:02I just haven't gotten to it. But normally I do that.
- 11:05I I can't do what you do. I can't I my mind?
- 11:08Can't I have to follow the same thing now?
- 11:13I mean, can you now? Is that like how all you are or
- 11:16are you all besides Jess, as we know?
- 11:18Are you just a one book person? I I can have a physical copy or
- 11:24like a, a book of physically reading and an audio book.
- 11:28I can do that, but I don't bounce around.
- 11:32But I read to like I have like ADD for readers.
- 11:36I read to turn my brain off. Like I don't like it when
- 11:39something is emotionally compelling me in a book.
- 11:42I'm like, why did you make me feel?
- 11:44I didn't want to think about anything, you know?
- 11:46Like I get pissed. So I could do 2 but they have to
- 11:53be on different formats. OK.
- 11:56Yeah, I did the same thing. So I have one for my eye holes
- 11:59and one for my ear. Holes for sure.
- 12:03Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:04Well, we're going to get you to read.
- 12:05Well, you still have to finish Acatar.
- 12:07You haven't finished it. Did your daughter, did she
- 12:10convince you to read the next two?
- 12:13Now this, Now the Christmas 1 doesn't sound.
- 12:18I love that one. It's just.
- 12:21A. Sweet little.
- 12:22Book. So on on this since I'm doing a
- 12:27rereading thing, OK and I read the first three AC guitar books.
- 12:31I just didn't read anymore because I didn't love them.
- 12:34But since it's June and I'm rereading after I finished this
- 12:39Anita Blake series that is going on for freaking ever.
- 12:42I can't believe I got through this many books the first time.
- 12:44But after I finished that, which I'm going to be done with it
- 12:47this weekend, I will read Acatar.
- 12:49I'm excited. For you to get the silver
- 12:51flames. Oh, you know.
- 12:52That's the. So good.
- 12:55It is the spiciest and Cassian and always just so good.
- 13:03And the headboard, you, you will enjoy it, yeah.
- 13:07Why is every every male character in a book named
- 13:10Cassian is hot? Like there's like it's a good,
- 13:15it's a good book name. It is a good book.
- 13:18I noticed there's that name is popular and then Rune and a lot
- 13:22of books I've read here lately. Rune Oh, wait till you meet Rune
- 13:26Dannon, Prince of the Valbar and Faye.
- 13:30Wait till you meet him. Oh my God, he's oh, he's so
- 13:35delicious. I, I, I, I love him.
- 13:38He's my favorite. Like a lot of people when they
- 13:39read Crescent City, they love Hunt.
- 13:41A lot of a lot of girls love him.
- 13:43I'm I'm, I'm liking me some hunt right now, yeah.
- 13:47I like how do you get to? Oh room Dannon though, girls.
- 13:53Room, Damon. Oh.
- 13:56Yeah, when he's in that altered state, we'll go with that where
- 14:05he do have to. Oh, I know.
- 14:08Do you know what? That is, and if there's A2 form
- 14:10thing, I'm here for it. There it, there is he, there's
- 14:14something that occurs that he does that he is in a different
- 14:19state and he is cloaked. We're just going to go with
- 14:23that. He's cloaked and someone else is
- 14:25going to be cloaked. But I can't tell because she
- 14:27hasn't read it. Neither of you.
- 14:31But it's good. You need to read.
- 14:33But but now wait till you get to Silver Flames.
- 14:36It's going to give you more questions and more answers, as
- 14:39the ACOTAR storyline goes. Then you have to read Crescent
- 14:43City because if you don't read Crescent City when Book 6 comes
- 14:48out, if you continue the journey because things happen in Book
- 14:533IN Crescent City, that gives you answers to Acatar but gives
- 14:57you more questions in Acatar. Yeah.
- 15:01Yeah. And so and I think a lot that's
- 15:03going to come to play in Book 6. What do you think, Christy?
- 15:07It's a big overlap as well. I remember when people like you
- 15:10hear about it before you read the books, right?
- 15:11Like it's hard to not hear about it.
- 15:15And so many people were like, oh, there's a crossover, but
- 15:17it's huge. Like it's not a tiny crossover.
- 15:21It's a huge crossover. Like you can't ignore that fact
- 15:24at our six. So many people are saying, oh,
- 15:26you don't need to read it. Read Crescent City.
- 15:28And I'm like, you're going to be missing so much information if
- 15:30you read Crescent City. Oh, the things that happen in
- 15:34Book 3, the crossover thing, it is such a huge thing that
- 15:39happens. It's not like a little blib or
- 15:41like a couple pages in the book. It's it's a very big.
- 15:46To continue in six. Oh, I think so.
- 15:50I definitely think it's going to play into Avatar 60.
- 15:55Yeah, I have my theories, so prepare for that.
- 15:58That's why you need to read this, so we can discuss these
- 16:01things with you. Because I can discuss these
- 16:03things now with Jess because she'll know what I'm talking
- 16:06about and you don't know yet. And I can't spoil things for you
- 16:11because they're such. Oh my God.
- 16:14I mean, I don't know why, like some people, they either love
- 16:16Crescent City or they don't like Crescent City Now.
- 16:20It's very different than ACOTAR. It's, you know, you're in an
- 16:26urban setting, you're in a modern setting.
- 16:29You know, people have cell phones and guns and stuff, and
- 16:33there's a lot of a lot more. It's not just human and Faye, in
- 16:39this one, you have humans, you have Faye, you have shifters
- 16:44that could be all kinds of shifters, you know, like lion
- 16:47shifters and whatever. There's mermaids.
- 16:52What else is there? Angels.
- 16:53There's vampires. We'll see.
- 16:57You should have started with that and then I would have read
- 16:59it a long time ago. But it's good I but fin it you
- 17:04have but you have to finish silver flames because the events
- 17:10that happened in silver flames, you have to get context of that.
- 17:15So it'll make it'll make sense in the crossover, if that makes
- 17:20sense. Spoil.
- 17:20Silver Flames if you haven't read.
- 17:25OK, all right, well, my, I guess that's my daughter.
- 17:28My son will be thrilled too. But here's, OK, here's the
- 17:32caveat. If I read this book when I start
- 17:35having a freak out at 10:30, somebody better be available for
- 17:39me to talk to about it, OK? I, I can tell you well, Jess can
- 17:45attest to this. When you read the first book in
- 17:48Crescent City, you don't get very far in and it will alter
- 17:52you, your thoughts because it's not you don't see it coming.
- 18:01So just prepare yourself more. Not even a little bit.
- 18:07So that's see, we have got her on board.
- 18:10I'm so excited. Your daughter is going to be so
- 18:13excited. I know, I know.
- 18:15She, yeah, she was in here earlier and I was on the phone
- 18:19or whatever and I'm and she's like, oh, are you doing your
- 18:21podcast thing? I said yeah.
- 18:23And because I told her, I said I think I'll read it.
- 18:26She's like, Oh yeah, because she wants to do a reread too, so
- 18:28I'll do it with her. Oh yes, I think you will enjoy,
- 18:32I'm telling you. And then if you, because she
- 18:33hasn't read Crescent City, she hasn't tried to read Crescent
- 18:36City yet, tell her once you get done with your reread, then you
- 18:40guys can both have that moment with Chris to say, because I'd
- 18:43like to see how you both how you feel after you read that, that
- 18:48part. Because we can tell Jess, we can
- 18:50tell by Jess's face. Great, I say.
- 18:55I will stock up the you know my emotional battery to have it all
- 19:00drain out from. Yeah, I was shocked.
- 19:04Yeah, it's a shocking thing because it's not something you
- 19:07see coming. That's what I'm just saying.
- 19:08And it and it's not what you what you'll see, You'll see.
- 19:12So now before we get into the next part here because this is
- 19:15quarter three, because today is our kick off to season 4.
- 19:20So we are going to be talking about all the books that come
- 19:23out for July, August and September.
- 19:27And girls, there is a tremendous amount of good books coming out.
- 19:32But first thing we're going to talk about though, even though
- 19:34this is going to be, I'm not going to go through the whole
- 19:37recipe, but as I always tell everybody, go to our Instagram
- 19:41page and go to SIPS. This is our drinks that we are
- 19:44having today. Now, Jess, you made one correct.
- 19:48I did. I made the mocktail.
- 19:52I made the mocktail OK. My God, look at the umbrella.
- 19:58I'm a oh how. Cute.
- 20:00I like that. This is so exciting.
- 20:03It's a delicious, by the way, yes, it's very tart and just
- 20:08it's perfect. It's perfection, so and.
- 20:11The one that Jess is drinking, that is called the Midnight
- 20:14Solace. So it is, it is very good.
- 20:18And then now if you want the alcohol version or the alcoholic
- 20:22drink that we have, because we always do both, because we know
- 20:24not everybody drinks. There's the Crimson Crown, but
- 20:28those will be available upon our up on the sips, on our
- 20:33highlights. So this is awesome.
- 20:35I'm so excited that you made it and.
- 20:37I love the glitter. The glitter.
- 20:39It's like I've never put edible glitter in anything and I want
- 20:44to put it in everything now, to be honest.
- 20:47Like I made my coffee and I was like, could I put glitter in
- 20:50this? Maybe.
- 20:51I probably. Will what color glitter did you
- 20:54put in your drink? Did you match it with the drink?
- 20:57So they had like silver, gold, pink and clear.
- 21:00So I chose pink because it kind of like went with the colors
- 21:04that were already happening. So yeah.
- 21:08On Amazon now I've seen this, they have it, it's edible
- 21:12glitter and it's either 799 or 999 a container and they have
- 21:17like 20 some different colors that you can get.
- 21:20Really. So you can be really fancy.
- 21:23I need some so I can be fancy too.
- 21:27Next thing y'all eating glitter roast beef and, you know,
- 21:30glitter corn on the cob. My husband.
- 21:32'S going to be like why is there glitter everywhere?
- 21:35You're dazzling your vegetables. And we and we always have to
- 21:39mention this though, because because people you have to make
- 21:42sure it's edible food grade glitter.
- 21:45Don't just put craft glitter in. This is not that kind.
- 21:48This is edible food grade kind. So make sure you check that
- 21:52before you put it I. I have AI have a question.
- 21:55All right. What is your question?
- 21:58It's a gross question but I'm going to ask it anyway for it
- 22:02can't help it. Does it bedazzle your shit?
- 22:06I'll let you know. It's.
- 22:09Interesting. I will let you know.
- 22:11I couldn't help. I mean, I gotta know like I'm.
- 22:15That isn't very interesting because like like if.
- 22:17You eat. Icing.
- 22:19Like colored icing and stuff. It changes things so you might
- 22:24have some sparkly poop. Great.
- 22:27I mean, it'll be a. Magical experience.
- 22:31Yeah, it will in so many ways. So thank you for starting this
- 22:35journey for me. This is really not where.
- 22:39I'm from. I'm here for you.
- 22:41Conversation was going to go. Yeah, say I listen, I, I do live
- 22:46for a good awkward moment, like I will create them because I
- 22:50find them amusing. So, and it popped in my head and
- 22:52so I was like, I, I don't know. That is interesting, I hadn't
- 22:56thought about that, but Jess is going to have to let us all.
- 22:59I'll let you know and about. Firing minds A.
- 23:04Few hours. This is holy hosted.
- 23:10But no, so now you go. So now everybody go, you can go
- 23:12out and then and again we'll have an update and let just know
- 23:17when this cuz this will post this episode will be live two
- 23:21weeks after we've recorded here. So we will have the knowledge
- 23:26for everyone to let everyone to know.
- 23:28We'll put it in the, in the in the we'll.
- 23:31Put it in that it'll be in the in the the caption so everybody
- 23:34can know. We'll just say sparkles, yes or
- 23:38no? That's all we'll say.
- 23:39And then, and then. If you've listened to this,
- 23:42you'll understand what that means.
- 23:44Yeah, I would love to make a reel of this.
- 23:49Just this information. It's great.
- 23:52Oh God, the girls crack my heart inside and I love it so.
- 23:57Now and Kersey's. Now when years ago here, because
- 24:06we've been in our house for four years, we had lived in an
- 24:09apartment prior to that for five years and we were on the ground
- 24:13floor. So we had an upstairs neighbor
- 24:15and they were young. There were two two guys and they
- 24:19were step brothers. So one was in the front, one was
- 24:22in the backroom where the bedrooms were separated.
- 24:25The one the and he was, he was in, he was again, they were both
- 24:31very nice young men, very nice. They were always very nice to be
- 24:34all that kind of thing. Well, the one he, he has his
- 24:36girlfriend and she moved in for like the last year that they
- 24:40lived there and we would hear the motion in the ocean and it
- 24:45was and it was loud. And I don't know if they
- 24:52realized how loud the the springs were.
- 24:56And so I seen his stepbrother and I, I was talking to him and
- 25:00I'm like, I'm like, honey, can you, can you tell him that their
- 25:04their motion in the ocean? We all can hear it every single
- 25:08time they do this. Oh.
- 25:10My. God, yeah, I don't think they
- 25:12cared because then the ocean and the motion, it continued for up
- 25:17until when they moved out. You should, man.
- 25:21Oh, better you than me, because if it was like a normal thing,
- 25:26I'd either be like, I would applaud or Boo afterwards.
- 25:31I mean, just to make sure that they knew well.
- 25:35I I wonder something. I mean, because if we could hear
- 25:38them, I'm assuming they could hear us anything we were saying
- 25:43and stuff because we would say because we would hear them or
- 25:46different times. Like I had to go up and talk to
- 25:48him because like they had not the common sense button.
- 25:51You know how some people lack that?
- 25:53Like he would start playing his video game right above our head
- 25:58and he had this, we called it the Titanic chair and he would
- 26:02turn like this and go and it would like do this real loud
- 26:06sound. And I had to go up and talk to
- 26:07him multiple times. And I'm like, honey, I will buy
- 26:10you a new computer chair. I will buy some WD40 for you.
- 26:14I said, we're trying to sleep. They said you have to.
- 26:18And but thank God they, they were from Eastern Kentucky.
- 26:22So they were, they were very naive in many, many ways because
- 26:28like when they moved there, they went and looked at apartments,
- 26:31the one and he saw that like they were horrible areas.
- 26:35He took the keys and just threw them like out in a parking lot
- 26:39somewhere. He's like, nobody should be
- 26:40living here. I said, you know, they have your
- 26:42driver's license and stuff. They will charge you for
- 26:46throwing their keys away. He didn't care.
- 26:48But they went home every weekend.
- 26:50They drove from Louisville all the way to Eastern Kentucky.
- 26:53It was like a four and a half hour drive every weekend because
- 26:56that was before his girlfriend lived there because he had to
- 27:00get home to her. But they were interesting
- 27:03people. I had interesting neighbors.
- 27:05I have to tell you my Ear Hole book at the moment is it's
- 27:12called For the Fans. Has anyone read it?
- 27:14Oh. Yes, and it's about Step
- 27:19Brothers making money on only fans because they need some
- 27:26money and then we don't have. Money.
- 27:29Together, you know. OK.
- 27:32So I haven't I so I haven't read only fans.
- 27:36My son did. Yes.
- 27:38I know it's probably not appropriate topic with your
- 27:40children, but my son read it and he said, mom, have you read only
- 27:44fans? I said no and he tells me what's
- 27:46about. I said, oh, I got a wreck for
- 27:47you, so I have a wreck for you. Kersey.
- 27:49If you like only fans, it's called Pay Per Heart.
- 27:55Oh, OK. And I can't remember who wrote
- 27:57it, but it's a it's so why choose?
- 28:01And there are three, three or four guys.
- 28:05She ends up being there like social media manager and content
- 28:09manager and all of them are on like and only fans version but
- 28:13they have different things like one guy.
- 28:15Cooks. Another guy does like pottery
- 28:18and like woodworking and the other guy does a lot of other
- 28:24very unusual things with additional items, you could say.
- 28:30But of course they all do it naked and it's a fantastic.
- 28:36It's a good read. It's like a quick good read.
- 28:39It's not as like emotionally devastating as I heard only fans
- 28:42in, but it's a fun read. Yes, this book, it's it's
- 28:47interesting, but yes, I thought step siblings and motion in the
- 28:51ocean, but they're doing it together.
- 28:56So, you know, I'm having a great.
- 28:58Time I love a good taboo. I love a good taboo.
- 29:05Right. Very different from the clean YA
- 29:07that I've just consumed. You know.
- 29:10Yes. You had to go purify yourself
- 29:12and smut. It did I.
- 29:14Really. Yeah, that's.
- 29:17Right. Like how you're like pottery,
- 29:19woodworking, What I mean, because it would be wood and he
- 29:23was working his wood. Is that what you're saying?
- 29:27Yeah, well, like so they they do so each each thing has a or each
- 29:33guy has a thing that they do, but they do it naked, of course.
- 29:38And it's very like they insinuate things like the guy
- 29:42that cooks, he's like, I mean, he's making food erotic, if that
- 29:48makes sense. And the guy, the woodworking and
- 29:53clay guy, the pottery guy, obviously that could be very
- 29:56erotic in and of itself. Yeah.
- 29:59And then the other guy is just, he's just wild.
- 30:03He's just kinky as I'll get out so.
- 30:06But it's a good one. Very spicy.
- 30:10Well, have you guys ever seen the guy?
- 30:11Now, of course it's not. You can't see him.
- 30:13He doesn't. He's not naked, but he does
- 30:16videos on Instagram and he is cooking and that and he smacks
- 30:20the bread and the stuff like that.
- 30:22Have you ever seen him? Yeah, there's a guy on TikTok
- 30:26that does it not like you and you can see him and he does it
- 30:29shirtless. Well, yeah.
- 30:31Oh, no, no, no. You can see this guy.
- 30:32I'm just saying his Dick's not out, you know, because we can't
- 30:35see that on Instagram, You know, I think they would, they would
- 30:38ban him if his Dick was out. Dang it.
- 30:46Well, there's that, Well, did you see that?
- 30:47There's this, this one couple, they, they have been on
- 30:51Instagram on TikTok for a while. And they, they kind of portray
- 30:56themselves like very wholesome. Not I, I don't want to say that
- 30:59they're wholesome, but they do a lot of wholesome kind of content
- 31:02kind of stuff. And it just came out that a few
- 31:05years ago they had an only fans account and yeah, and it got
- 31:11leaked. And so all kinds of people got
- 31:13to to watch their videos for free online.
- 31:17Oh, free is not OK, Pay for that.
- 31:22But I said, why didn't they make money off of it?
- 31:26Well, they did on their only fan.
- 31:27That's why they were able to buy their new house.
- 31:29They got she's driving a Mercedes.
- 31:32You know, he's got trucks. They have all kinds of like toy
- 31:35vehicles, you know, like, you know, side by sides and stuff.
- 31:38And I never thought about it. I guess in my pure mind, I never
- 31:44thought about it. I just figured they were making
- 31:46a lot of money from TikTok or from, you know, being on
- 31:48Instagram. But no, that was they, they did
- 31:51it for a couple years. They made their money and then
- 31:54they stopped and they never said anything to anybody about it.
- 31:59And then somebody realized it was them and was posting it all
- 32:04over and they made a video and talked about it and said, well,
- 32:08you know, we did this. This was our thing.
- 32:10But they're not ashamed of it or anything like that.
- 32:13It's just what they did. My husband always says that we
- 32:17should have the book world. We should have our only fans
- 32:21book world and and read and things like that and have
- 32:24discussions and being with everything hanging out, I said.
- 32:28He said you'd probably make a lot of money, I said.
- 32:33Like we should just like, do like a podcast naked.
- 32:36Yes, he said. All men would love it.
- 32:39That's what he told me. I was like, I think all men, all
- 32:42men love anything where women are naked for the most part.
- 32:46I mean, we could be cleaning the toilet and they'd like that too,
- 32:50like. There's a girl if you have to
- 32:52look at she's up on Instagram. I, I think she's, she's
- 32:55fantastic. But she, she does read.
- 32:58She does read. She talks every now and then
- 33:00about books, but that's not her main niche.
- 33:04And it's it's your mom, your friend's mom, something like
- 33:08that is her name. She's based out of like
- 33:10Pittsburgh area and she hasn't only fans and she does naked
- 33:14yoga every Wednesday and stuff like that.
- 33:17And she always, you, you'll know it's her when you'll see her
- 33:20video. She's always walking down the
- 33:22steps in the morning. And now I have a whole lot.
- 33:25She has more than I have here and it they're they're, they're
- 33:30free ranging. So there's a whole lot of
- 33:32movement happening. So that's why she comes down the
- 33:35steps. So they're, they're moving
- 33:36everywhere. And her nightgown is always
- 33:38stuck in her butt crack. Yeah, what a dilemma.
- 33:43But she makes a lot of money. I'm sure she.
- 33:46Does what she does. You know, I've never even been
- 33:50on only fans. Like I've never even looked at
- 33:53it. I've seen some.
- 33:56I've never paid for any of it, but I've seen the people that
- 33:58haven't. I'm amazed by it.
- 33:59I'm like, good for them. I don't know if I could do it.
- 34:03We could do things. I could.
- 34:06Do feed things. I could do feed things.
- 34:09Smash. They like it.
- 34:10Like if you smash cupcakes and things like that I've heard.
- 34:13I think I could. I could sell my underwear.
- 34:17People buy your dirty underwear. I could do that.
- 34:20They like to buy your dirty socks too.
- 34:23That's like. Sparkly farts.
- 34:25Maybe I should look into that. Yeah.
- 34:29Well that one girl, she was an an influencer.
- 34:32She was doing the farts in the jar so much that she got
- 34:35hospitalized because she was trying to fart too much.
- 34:39I don't know how can you fart too much is my question.
- 34:43Maybe because she was forcing it?
- 34:45I mean, how high was that supply and demand to be like hospital?
- 34:49Must have been high or. No, I mean, think about that
- 34:54girls. There's a lot of options that we
- 34:56have that we just didn't realize.
- 34:58We just have to lower our bar, some baby in our minds and we
- 35:03could make bank. And now ethics.
- 35:10Oh my God. But Jess has now she has the new
- 35:12market now with the her daughter.
- 35:15She's good to go. Oh Lord, so oh God, that made me
- 35:23laugh so hard. So now, like as I said, we were
- 35:26talking about quarter three, but now these are the books that
- 35:31that we now we each have our own list because again, each of us
- 35:36are very different than each other.
- 35:37We do all love similar things and there is probably crossover
- 35:42a book set we're all excited about.
- 35:46I have a lot I have. I think I have 18 books that are
- 35:50coming out between now and September that I'm excited
- 35:54about. How many do you guys have on
- 35:55your list? I have 3.
- 36:00You have 33. I have 12512, seven of them, No
- 36:145 of them contemporary. So then the you know 7 on this.
- 36:24Level. Oh, OK.
- 36:26All right. And how about you, Katie?
- 36:27How many do you have on your list?
- 36:29And that time frame I have a nine.
- 36:34Yes. Well, I'm going to tell you guys
- 36:37mine and let's see if if we have any crossover or none at all.
- 36:42It's possible now. Now I'm going to go by in order
- 36:47of what when they all come out now in July.
- 36:50July is a is an amazing month. The first one that comes out is
- 36:54the Daughter of the Night that is with author Gemma Vale.
- 36:58She was on the podcast this past week.
- 37:01Her book comes out July 10th. But I did see that 'cause she
- 37:06recorded the audio book herself, she went in the studio, did it.
- 37:11Audible released her book yesterday.
- 37:13I saw that. How rude.
- 37:14She did, she didn't know it was coming and she started getting
- 37:20messages and stuff from people and they're like you're oh, I'm
- 37:22on this chapter, I'm on that chapter and she's like, what do
- 37:26you mean? And yeah, yes, they didn't tell
- 37:28her that they were releasing it. But I guess it's because she
- 37:31didn't do one of the, the contracts where they have have
- 37:37her for like 7 years. She did it this way so she could
- 37:40put it on all the different platforms, you know, like Apple
- 37:43books, all that kind of thing. So everyone, no matter where you
- 37:46are in the world, you can enjoy her book.
- 37:49So Audible just they uploaded and that was it.
- 37:53So she's super excited about that.
- 37:54But she is fantastic. But that is the daughter of the
- 37:57night that is going to this is book one in her series that
- 38:01comes out July 10th. The next one I have is The
- 38:03Forsaken Prophecy that is book 2.
- 38:08Do you have that one? Aha.
- 38:09Now I have not read book one, but I do own it because again,
- 38:13you know how I am with my books. I I'm a curator.
- 38:19I have it here on my I have it in my pat.
- 38:22Look at look at my stack. I have to get to it.
- 38:25OK, This is book one. This is book 1, Forbidden
- 38:30Alchemy. And this is this is by Stacey
- 38:32McEwen, my fellow. Aussie.
- 38:35She is very funny by the way, she's.
- 38:38Hilarious. If you haven't seen her socials
- 38:40you need to look at them. She is so funny.
- 38:43Oh she is funny. And this.
- 38:44And look how pretty. Now this is the first the first
- 38:48one I ever got that had sprayed edges, but look how pretty.
- 38:50That is. That's pretty.
- 38:53Book 2 that comes out July 21st. It's called A Forsaken Prophecy
- 38:59now. Oh, it says that.
- 39:01I have it marked that it is a trilogy, so I guess there will
- 39:04be one more. I believe so.
- 39:06Book so again, that is July 21st, the next one.
- 39:12Now I haven't read these series. I have.
- 39:17I think it's her. I think that's who it is up
- 39:20there. But she the author KF Breen, she
- 39:23writes the deliciously dark fairy tales.
- 39:27I don't know if this is a re release or if these or if this
- 39:33is a continuation of the series that I'm not 100% but book 5 and
- 39:38book 6 are coming out both on July 21st.
- 39:41It's a cage of Crimson and a cage of kingdoms.
- 39:44But I do have the whole series on my on my TBR list.
- 39:47I just I haven't made it that far have either.
- 39:51Have you any of you read Deliciously Dark Fairy Tales by
- 39:55her? I haven't, I've read a lot of KF
- 39:58Breen from like. I mean, gosh, probably 5 or 6
- 40:01years ago, maybe longer, but no, I haven't read that.
- 40:06Is that the is she? Is that Obsidian?
- 40:09Is that is that KF Breen? Because I have them up on my up
- 40:13on my shelf. I just haven't read them yet.
- 40:16And there's another series that she wrote that was that was
- 40:21based in San Francisco. She had like a tea and chocolate
- 40:26shop. I can't remember.
- 40:30That's all I remember. I have the worst memory in the
- 40:31world. But those are two more books
- 40:35that she does it. They're either re releases or
- 40:38they're brand new. So you'll have to figure that
- 40:41one out. But that is July 21st.
- 40:43Now the next one is I have it. And now this is book one in the
- 40:49series because I have been buying these.
- 40:50Now these are all this is a brand new book, but they had
- 40:55their the original books, they were traditional or I'm sorry,
- 40:59they were indie and then traditionally got picked up.
- 41:02This is Elizabeth Helen, by the way.
- 41:04Elizabeth Helen is 2 people. They're sisters.
- 41:07They have the beast of the briar.
- 41:09This is book 1. So if anybody you know, wants to
- 41:13know that's bonded by thorns and see when it got redone, they are
- 41:17all sprayed edges. I don't know if you can still
- 41:21get these yet with the sprayed edges if they still are
- 41:24available. I know they were getting down
- 41:25limited stock with them. So get this the I have a I'm a
- 41:31member of like the bookish shop. I don't know if you guys have
- 41:34heard that. OK, so I get there, you know,
- 41:38monthly darkly box, but they had this members day sale and the
- 41:43prequel and in in the beast the briar series.
- 41:48So I got some sort of special edition.
- 41:50It's actually still in the box. I haven't opened to get, but I
- 41:54got that. So I'm super excited about it.
- 41:56So I know there are still more special editions coming out
- 41:59about that series. And if I remember correctly,
- 42:02this is a why choose kind of situation to the series as well.
- 42:06I'm very excited to read that. Now book 6 comes out.
- 42:10Now this is brand new because there was a brand new one that
- 42:12released in April that was book 5.
- 42:14And then book 6 comes out July 21st.
- 42:17It is called Stolen by Shadows. There is another one coming out
- 42:21in October and the final one I believe is in January.
- 42:25So there will be 8 books in it. But again, they're very pretty
- 42:29and this isn't even and they're thick and this isn't even the
- 42:32thickest 1. So I I love a thick book and
- 42:35just for anybody who likes paperback, it has the good flop
- 42:38to it. That.
- 42:41A good flop, yeah. Crescent City has a good flop,
- 42:45just just to let you know. So it.
- 42:47Does I do have? Yeah.
- 42:50Oh. Absolutely good flop.
- 42:51Now this next one here I now I have seen it that I do have her
- 42:56other series. Have I read it yet?
- 42:58No, it is sitting on my shelf, but it's Sophia Saint Germain,
- 43:02she wrote. Oh, what is this series?
- 43:06I have to move my light. I'm sorry, this is her series
- 43:11that she had that just went traditional.
- 43:13I read So Sweet and Deadly because I have all the indie
- 43:18copies of it because I want to get them before they went
- 43:22traditional. But she has a new book coming
- 43:25out on the 22nd of July and it is Who Hears the Waters Call and
- 43:30it's The Zeal of the North. It's Book 1, so it's going to be
- 43:34a series, so it's supposed to be good.
- 43:36It's a brutal Viking War Academy setting.
- 43:39You might like that. Looks good.
- 43:42OK, what's it called? One more.
- 43:44Time this is this is who hears the waters call it says here
- 43:49it's a brutal Viking war Academy setting, accidental tethers and
- 43:54fierce trials. The heroine takes her brother's
- 43:57place to save her village. Ends up being bound to a giant
- 44:02Viking warrior who would rather kill her than see her succeed.
- 44:09No, I'm here for that. I mean, doesn't that sound good?
- 44:13Yeah. So, but again, that's Sophia
- 44:17Saint Germain and that comes out July 22nd, which isn't that far
- 44:20away. Now this one here I am super
- 44:23excited about because Kirsty and I got to meet her is The Lion
- 44:28and the Deathless Dark by Carissa Broadbent that comes out
- 44:32August 4th. That is book that would be book
- 44:375 in the series. Even though it's it's 2 duets, 2
- 44:44duets. This is the final duet, but this
- 44:46is the first book of the last duet, if that makes sense
- 44:49duology. But that comes out August 4th.
- 44:53That's epic gothic high fantasy atmosphere with the deeply
- 44:56complex core is going to be happening.
- 44:59So. Vampire human.
- 45:02Oh yes. For Katie.
- 45:06Oh yeah, it's vampire. Oh yeah, Because the whole crown
- 45:08of Niaxia, the whole series, it's vampires.
- 45:11If have you, have you read? Have you?
- 45:14I'm bumping things. Have you read?
- 45:15No, the first one, but yeah, it was not finished, so I haven't
- 45:20started it yet. Well, there's.
- 45:23One read the duet and then the duet.
- 45:26They're quiet. Yeah, each.
- 45:28Duet is a different couple, yeah.
- 45:31OK. All right.
- 45:33Yes, I, I, I like to annotate this one.
- 45:36Here is The Serpent in the Wings of Night.
- 45:40This is book 1. Then you read 6 Scorch Roses.
- 45:45That is a novella and it is so good.
- 45:48Have you read it yet, Kirsty? I'm getting Kirsty.
- 45:51I just. I just finished the second duet
- 45:54because the that book, just before we spoke to Carissa, it
- 45:59finished on a cliffhanger, so then I had to read the next 10.
- 46:03OK, I have them all. They're just.
- 46:08Yeah, don't. Read.
- 46:09Don't read books free and then wait.
- 46:11You need to get. Into Oh no, I have 3 and 4
- 46:13sitting here. There I have them.
- 46:15And then and then you read The Ashes of the Star Cursed King.
- 46:18That's the first duet and the reason you read the duology,
- 46:22even though it's not the couple that are in these books, but
- 46:26they play a part in the second book, if that makes sense.
- 46:31And it is such an absolute beautiful love story.
- 46:35It is my favorite novella that I've ever read.
- 46:38I keep having that like shine in my.
- 46:40Owl, same thing. Really.
- 46:42Same favorite novella. Is that your favorite too?
- 46:46And Chris, when we were talking to her, she said that's actually
- 46:50one of her lowest selling books, is that one?
- 46:53And she did not realize how much people love it until she went to
- 46:59book con not long ago and people were coming up to her and
- 47:03telling her how much they love 6 Gorge Roses.
- 47:06I love it. And you only can get it.
- 47:08I think you can only get it in hardback and it's very pretty
- 47:11and it's only like 160 pages. So you will like it.
- 47:15But that's. But her book comes out August
- 47:174th. And that's the line of the
- 47:19Deathless Dark again. That is the first book of the
- 47:22last duology, the now this one here now this one has been out.
- 47:26Now you all may have already read it.
- 47:28I have not read it because I'm excited to get it since it's
- 47:31gone traditional and the book is absolutely gorgeous.
- 47:34From what I've seen that it is at the poison daughter.
- 47:37That's the one where she. Kisses.
- 47:39That's on my list, people. Die.
- 47:41It's supposed to be very good. It says that comes out August
- 47:4618th is the since it's gone traditional, that's when it
- 47:49comes out. So it's basically a deadly touch
- 47:52magic system where a kiss on the lives her targets.
- 47:56And then I believe the guy that is the main male character.
- 48:00She tries to do this multiple times to him, tries to kill him.
- 48:04So it's but it's supposed to be very, very, very good.
- 48:07Now this one here now this one I have been waiting a year for.
- 48:11I am so excited. This is the end of this series.
- 48:15I don't know if you girls have read it.
- 48:16If you have met. This is my second book husband.
- 48:20His name is Memnom. He is part of the Bewitched
- 48:23series from Laura Thalassa. The book that comes out is
- 48:27Bedeviled. It comes out August 18th.
- 48:29But this is the first book in the series which is Bewitched.
- 48:32Have you guys read this one? Not yet.
- 48:36Not yet on the. List.
- 48:39It's witchy so so it's a good fall read.
- 48:43But I like a good witchy book so.
- 48:47What what is happening here? OK, so please read this one
- 48:50first. Now there is bewitched be
- 48:53spelled and then she wrote last year that came out The curse
- 48:57that binds. The curse that binds is a
- 48:59prequel to these first two books, but don't read it because
- 49:04then it'll take the mystery away.
- 49:07That's that is happening in these ones.
- 49:09So basically you have this girl and she has joined this like
- 49:15witch's school, like witch's college kind of thing and she
- 49:19has to have an event happen to her so that she can continue on
- 49:26with her her witch school. OK and but the problem is every
- 49:32time she uses her magic and stuff she loses memories and she
- 49:37doesn't understand why. So she goes and she decides to
- 49:42get on a plane because she feels that this is going to help her
- 49:46and maybe trigger the event that she has to have happen for her
- 49:50to continue on with her witch's school.
- 49:53And something does happen and she gets gets to meet this man
- 49:58named Memnom and he is 2000 years old and he is delicious
- 50:04and I can't wait for you all to meet him.
- 50:07What is Memnom? He's a sorcerer.
- 50:11OK. But ancient and he's just so oh,
- 50:15he's so good and and he's and he's he's very dirty.
- 50:19And then just the way he he talks to her and the stuff he
- 50:22says to her, you will see. But it's so good.
- 50:27So you meet him in here and bewitched and then be spelled
- 50:31again. Cursive binds.
- 50:33That's a prequel to this book, but you'll understand when you
- 50:38get there because I can't tell you anything because I don't
- 50:40want to ruin anything. And then Bedeviled comes out on
- 50:45July or on August 18th, which is the final book in the series.
- 50:49And I am super excited to see what happens with Memnom because
- 50:55I love that man so much. He is my book husband now.
- 51:00September. But that's my August now
- 51:01September. I have.
- 51:03September is a really popular month too.
- 51:05Now this book I have not read yet again.
- 51:09I curate now I have this, It's the night and the Moth.
- 51:14I don't know if any of you's have read that one by Rachel
- 51:17Gillig. I have it.
- 51:19I have it. But you have already.
- 51:22So you're like me. But now I didn't realize this
- 51:25was only going to be a duet. It's or a duology.
- 51:29But the then is it the nave? Do we pronounce it the nave
- 51:33because it's KNAVE? So we're like knife K, nave A.
- 51:38Scurvy nave like a Romeo and Juliet insult scurvy nave It's.
- 51:44The nave and the moon. So that's book 2 and I guess
- 51:47that's the completion of this series.
- 51:49But I have been told, even though I have this, that this is
- 51:52not like super spicy kind of deal, but I've heard it's really
- 51:58good. So that's why I got it.
- 52:00But that comes out September 1st for all of you that are waiting
- 52:04on that one now this one here. Now I I can't remember the first
- 52:10book right now at the moment off because I don't own it.
- 52:13But this is book 2. It's sorrow in strangers.
- 52:17It's the Avalon University book 2.
- 52:21It comes. It's by Janet Rose and Alexis
- 52:23Rune. Do you know it's a dark academia
- 52:26one, Katie? I'm I'm writing it down.
- 52:30It's forced proximity, high angst, intense collegiate
- 52:34secrets. It says it leans into into that
- 52:38Moody, gothic university setting with plenty of tension between
- 52:42the characters. Have you read No.
- 52:46No, I did not I. Long it's 1000 pages.
- 52:52I knew it was a big book. I don't own it yet.
- 52:54Took me a long time. Well, I think it was just it's
- 52:58either right now or it just came out because it got picked up
- 53:02traditionally and it got re released in June.
- 53:06I indie read. It.
- 53:08OK, so last. Year, I think it's a while ago.
- 53:12Oh yeah, it's been a while waiting because you haven't been
- 53:15able to buy it for a very long time because it went
- 53:18traditional. So it gets it's getting re
- 53:20released sometime this month. It is or it might have already
- 53:25re released and then this is book 2, but I don't know.
- 53:27Is it just a duology or is it a series?
- 53:31I don't know. I don't know.
- 53:33You covered up on the first one, so.
- 53:36Well, I wonder how if you said it's 1000 pages, I wonder how
- 53:39big this one is. Hey, I'm not sure I can see what
- 53:43it says. Because Amazon it would say on
- 53:46their thing. Because that's crazy. 1000
- 53:51pages. Well, I can't.
- 53:52Say 1000 Kindle. Pages.
- 53:57I don't know what it would be on Amazon.
- 53:59Like a physical copy? Yeah, or even on Goodreads it
- 54:03still says 1026 pages, but it doesn't have a page count yet
- 54:09for this one. I have to wait.
- 54:11Let me see. Let me.
- 54:12See if it's almost very good ratings for its arc.
- 54:16I mean, I know they're ARC readers, but it's got very good
- 54:19ratings so far. 200 reviews. What was it called?
- 54:23What did I just tell you the name of that book is?
- 54:26The second one. Yeah.
- 54:28Sorrow and strangers. Was so rude and strangers.
- 54:34I don't know. I want to see what Let's see
- 54:37what it says on Amazon. Y'all do use Goodreads or do you
- 54:42use? Yes, I use Goodreads.
- 54:44Yeah. Oh, this one's not as bad. 752
- 54:47pages. Walk in the park.
- 54:51Let me see what it says for the first one for blood and
- 54:54betrayals it is. Let's see what it says on here.
- 54:59It says 816 pages is what it is in physical form, physical copy.
- 55:05Nice, so about the same length then?
- 55:09But now would you say how spicy would you say the first book was
- 55:13in your opinion? Pepperwise, I know Peppers are
- 55:16subjective, but. Because you think so subjective,
- 55:19so many people are like, Oh my God, this is 4 Chili Peppers.
- 55:22And I'm like, were we reading the same book?
- 55:24I would say like 2 to three. OK.
- 55:27And I'm on my I'm harsh on my chili pepper rating.
- 55:32Like people might say, it's more than that.
- 55:34Well I always consider like 5 Chili Peppers for me.
- 55:38The kiss of the basilisk. Yeah, that would be 5.
- 55:41That's a 5 chili, I would agree with that.
- 55:44That's a 5 chili pepper. I consider Blood and Steel for
- 55:47Chili Peppers because it's not so much like how much of it is
- 55:52going. It's just the frequency of it
- 55:54because they're out on a on side quest, but they're getting it on
- 55:58a lot in Blood and Steel and I didn't have it.
- 56:02Have you, have you met Wilder half?
- 56:04Is it Wilder Hawthorne? I think that's the main, main
- 56:06character. Have you met him yet?
- 56:09Oh girls, welcome to my world. I am going to bring you some of
- 56:13the hottest men in the entire world.
- 56:16I would give it like maybe like wings and ruin like a war, maybe
- 56:27that level like 2 to three also I said.
- 56:31To that like a three for. Yeah.
- 56:34Well, my my Peppers is different that because remember, I'm going
- 56:37from kissabasculus at 5. Blood and steel is a four.
- 56:43I consider it any open door or whatever.
- 56:45If they give me a good scene, even if it's it's not the
- 56:48frequency of it, it's how hot it is of the scene.
- 56:51If it's written really well, I'd consider it a three.
- 56:54Yeah, yeah, I I don't do, as you know, I don't do any of that
- 56:58fade to black shit. No, no, yeah, I, I was going
- 57:05through my list like some of my followers, like people, you
- 57:08know, the followers that follow to unfollow kind of thing.
- 57:12And I was just going through, I found one lady that I was
- 57:16following that I must have followed her at some point and
- 57:19she was writing on there that she is only into clean books.
- 57:22And I'm like why am I following you unfollow Like what am I
- 57:27doing now? Now the next one out.
- 57:29You girls may have read this one but I know Heather has been
- 57:32waiting forever in a lifetime on this.
- 57:34I forget how many years now it's 2 1/2 years I believe.
- 57:37It's Burn of the Ever Flame, the Kindred cursed saga that comes
- 57:42out September 8th. So excited.
- 57:45I haven't read them yet. I haven't I.
- 57:48Haven't either. I haven't read them either
- 57:50because I, I've been burned so many times on books like do like
- 57:56I, I, I read Outlander, I got burned.
- 57:59I'm like, I'm if it's something that I know I'm going to love or
- 58:03that thing I'm going to love, I'm not starting that shit until
- 58:05it's finished. I have learned my lesson.
- 58:08Yeah, the cliffhanger was. Yeah, that's what Heather had
- 58:13said. And I'm like, and she's like,
- 58:14you need to read it. I'm like, I am not going to be
- 58:18on the boat with you waiting for it.
- 58:19But now it is coming. But it is, it is going to be
- 58:23released on September 8th. And that is the conclusion I
- 58:26believe of the the series. I'm so excited for her that she
- 58:30got traditionally picked up, but it's been the world's longest
- 58:33wait because they then traditionally released one and
- 58:37then two and then three, which I get because, you know, make of
- 58:42the money. I understand now, yeah.
- 58:47I mean, it's exciting. Yeah.
- 58:50I know she's excited and I think they pushed the the audio book
- 58:53back to past that date or something like that.
- 58:56I. Think she just announced that it
- 58:58was going to be delayed and now it's not?
- 59:01Oh, now it's not. Oh, well, that's a good thing
- 59:02then. Which is good.
- 59:04I pre-ordered the audio book but don't judge it on the first
- 59:10book. OK give it same.
- 59:12Give it the same respect you give Acatar.
- 59:14You don't judge it by the first book, you judge it by the 2nd
- 59:16book. That's the that's the same thing
- 59:19I say in plated prisoner with Guild.
- 59:22There's a lot of people they they start Guild and they get
- 59:27about halfway through and people have DNF D it now.
- 59:30Myself personally, I enjoyed it. I love the opening scene because
- 59:34it's so good. But you meet my book husband in
- 59:38book 2 and he is so, oh, he's so dirty and he's so good.
- 59:43And I just, I 'cause I can't say who he is because he's a
- 59:47surprise, but he is so good. So if you, Katie, have you not
- 59:52read The Plated Prisoner? Did you stop?
- 59:54I have the. Nope, I have them all.
- 59:56Right, so that you know what I'm talking about.
- 1:00:00Yes, I loved the first three. I did not love the last three.
- 1:00:04That's right, you didn't like that.
- 1:00:06I still I loved him. I will take that mint.
- 1:00:10Yeah, I also love your book husband.
- 1:00:12He's one of mine too. He the way he talks and the
- 1:00:16things he says, he's so dirty because my own husband is bad
- 1:00:22like that as well. And so it's just like A and
- 1:00:27because I think my own husband would burn the world for me as
- 1:00:30well and do the things that he did so and, and be as ruthless
- 1:00:35and everything as this person is.
- 1:00:37But if you girls have not read it, please go out and get the
- 1:00:40play to Prisoner series by Raven Kennedy, because it's and you
- 1:00:44will meet the best what husband you ever will find.
- 1:00:48He he is he is higher up on the list than resand he's higher up
- 1:00:52on the I mean, I love Memnom. Don't get me wrong, I love him
- 1:00:55dearly. I love Kingfisher.
- 1:00:57He's so dirty. But this individual, he's top
- 1:01:02tier. He has a book coming out soon as
- 1:01:05well. Hey.
- 1:01:07Yes, she does. But I don't think it's this
- 1:01:09quarter, I think it's. Next.
- 1:01:10Yes, it is. It's later on my list.
- 1:01:13Oh, so get ready, it's later on. No, but no.
- 1:01:16Galley the other day. Oh yeah, I'm super excited for
- 1:01:19that one. I love how she writes.
- 1:01:22That's me. But now the the next one here is
- 1:01:24the Incendiary. Cindiary.
- 1:01:26Incendiary. I think I'm pronouncing that
- 1:01:28right. It's by LJ Claren.
- 1:01:30This is book 2. I forget what the Oh, it's the
- 1:01:33silver. It's the book 2 after The
- 1:01:35Silversmith. Like everybody read that and
- 1:01:37everybody told me it's wonderful.
- 1:01:39I have it on my TBR list. Have you read The Silversmith?
- 1:01:43Not yet I've. Seen it?
- 1:01:45Haven't haven't read it. Now, I don't know.
- 1:01:48Is it a is it only a duology? I don't know.
- 1:01:53Is it a series? I don't know.
- 1:01:54But they said it's a searing sequel to The Silversmith.
- 1:01:58It's heavy slow burn romanticity packed with absolute yearning
- 1:02:02heartbreak and non-stop action and devastating plot twists that
- 1:02:08comes out on September 8th, book 2.
- 1:02:13Now this one here. I don't.
- 1:02:14I have it on my list because I have the blood of Hercules and I
- 1:02:20have psycho shifters and so again, I have not read them.
- 1:02:23Are they on my show? Yes, but she does have a new
- 1:02:26book. Jasmine.
- 1:02:27Is it? Does she pronounce it Moss or
- 1:02:29does she pronounce it mass? I call it Moss.
- 1:02:34I don't know if that's right, if that's what I say.
- 1:02:37One thing you will learn as being part of my little family
- 1:02:40here, we do not pronounce anything correctly, so we go
- 1:02:44with it. But it's the the Emperor's
- 1:02:48enemy. It is the unsurvivable love.
- 1:02:51Do it book one. It comes out September 15th.
- 1:02:55It's a high heat enemies to lovers with massive betrayals,
- 1:02:59plot lines and fierce power struggles.
- 1:03:02Perfect for listeners who like their romance dark, sharp and
- 1:03:07full of chaotic energy. So is it good?
- 1:03:11I don't know. We'll find out now, but again,
- 1:03:14that comes out September 15th. The next one I now, I've had
- 1:03:17this one on my list for a while because I thought it sounded
- 1:03:19interesting. It's called 6 Bullets and a
- 1:03:22Crown. It's by Alex Calder.
- 1:03:25I love. Her.
- 1:03:26OK, you know, then you know who she is.
- 1:03:28I have no idea who she is, but this book comes out September
- 1:03:3122nd. It's high stakes, dangerous
- 1:03:35secrets, royal royal power dynamics, dark fantasy court
- 1:03:40intrigue. Perfect for the fans of gritty
- 1:03:43royalty tropes and sharp plot twists.
- 1:03:47She wrote a book series called like the Power of 5.
- 1:03:54I mean, like, I read it probably 7-8 years ago and it's hot.
- 1:04:04It's not. She writes a lot, a lot of white
- 1:04:08shoes that are actually good stories.
- 1:04:11Like very seamy, good good stories.
- 1:04:14How so? Then this might be very good,
- 1:04:16but that comes out September 22nd, so I'm super excited about
- 1:04:20that. Now this one here.
- 1:04:21Now, I never pronounced this lady's name right, but we're
- 1:04:25going to go with it. But it's the kiss of the black
- 1:04:27flame and it's Helen. Sure.
- 1:04:29That's how I say her last name. Kind of great you are Kirsty.
- 1:04:35Am I pronouncing it correctly Because isn't?
- 1:04:37Is she from Australia or is she from New Zealand?
- 1:04:40I have no idea who you're talking about.
- 1:04:41I'm not going to lie you. Don't you don't know Helen?
- 1:04:44Sure. She's the one that wrote Blood
- 1:04:46and Steel. That's how I pronounce her last
- 1:04:48name. It's it's SI love.
- 1:04:51You're. Pronouncing it, I know AW.
- 1:04:56It though it's SCHEUERER. Sure, that's how I was sick.
- 1:05:02Oh yeah, OK, I've just found it. Sure.
- 1:05:06Sure, sure. Sure.
- 1:05:09OK, I now understand the confusion.
- 1:05:12Heather and I, whenever we always talked about her, that's,
- 1:05:16that's how we say it. We say Helen, sure, but she
- 1:05:19wrote Blood and Steel, you know, the legends of Thezmar, the
- 1:05:23ashes of Thezmar. And this is her new series.
- 1:05:26It is the book binder's bargain. I think it might be a duet,
- 1:05:31maybe a duology, I don't know but I could be wrong on that.
- 1:05:34But yes, I have it pre-ordered. It's stunning.
- 1:05:40And it says here it's visually stunning dark magic, deadly
- 1:05:43bargains, high heat snippets. It's perfectly blends lush
- 1:05:47fantasy landscape with a dark, intense romantic pairing.
- 1:05:52And it comes out September 22nd. I, I love her.
- 1:05:55I love everything that she has. Well, at least what I've read of
- 1:05:59hers. I loved the legends of Thezmar.
- 1:06:02That's where I was telling you guys have to meet Wilder
- 1:06:05Hawthorne. He is a very wonderful main male
- 1:06:10character and he has a man bun, but he has a very large sword.
- 1:06:16Yeah, I. Feel terrible she is Australian.
- 1:06:19I don't know. For some reason, that's where I
- 1:06:20think she's from. She's from I could.
- 1:06:24Oh, am I correct? All right, all right, Because I
- 1:06:27have contacted her to see if she would like to be on the podcast.
- 1:06:30But her husband, her husband is her person that writes back and
- 1:06:34stuff. And he said, Oh, I know his
- 1:06:37name's, I think he's Gary. I think, I think for some reason
- 1:06:40in my mind, I'm thinking his name's Gary.
- 1:06:41And but she's touring a whole bunch of, so hopefully, maybe at
- 1:06:46the beginning of this coming year, she'll be able to come
- 1:06:49visit us on the podcast and then she can tell us the correct
- 1:06:53pronunciation of her last name. You should have asked her
- 1:06:56husband. Maybe he would have known.
- 1:07:01I mean like. Sure in this Jimmy via voice
- 1:07:04text. Thanks.
- 1:07:07I mean, I mean, Heather, I, as long as Heather and I have been
- 1:07:10talking about her, that's how we, we always say and we always
- 1:07:13go sure. And that's how we say it
- 1:07:14together and you all can join in as well.
- 1:07:18And then again, like I said, that comes out September 22nd.
- 1:07:21A beautiful book. I'm super excited.
- 1:07:24Now, the one that Kirstie was talking about that she just
- 1:07:27mentioned a moment ago from Raven Kennedy, The sweetest
- 1:07:29Fiend comes out. That is a duology.
- 1:07:32It's the played by the Piper duology.
- 1:07:36It comes out September 22nd as well.
- 1:07:38That is a monster demon romance elements mixed with a
- 1:07:44fascinating psychological push and pull.
- 1:07:46It's a masterful balance, incredible dark fantasy themes
- 1:07:49with genuine high heat romance. So I am super excited.
- 1:07:54I have that's another one. I have pre-ordered.
- 1:07:56I have a lot of pre-orders coming because my husband said
- 1:08:00to me, he said you haven't gotten a lot of books here
- 1:08:02lately. I said, oh, we'll just wait.
- 1:08:05I have pre-orders, they just, there was a lull there for a
- 1:08:08while. Now.
- 1:08:10The next one that's coming out the OR is the last one I have.
- 1:08:13Well, I have two, but this is the last one that I have a
- 1:08:15guaranteed date with is Curse City.
- 1:08:18That is by Kate Golden. It's an academic.
- 1:08:24What is it? Said my list and your list are
- 1:08:27just the same. Oh, we have the same.
- 1:08:28Oh, we're fantastic. Well, this one.
- 1:08:31But now this one comes out September 29th.
- 1:08:33But this is the gritty urban fantasy mixed with high stakes
- 1:08:37magic. Expect deeply immersive
- 1:08:39atmosphere, heavy setting where danger lurks around every
- 1:08:44corner. I can't remember what the first
- 1:08:46book is called. I have half.
- 1:08:48They just can't. Half city.
- 1:08:49OK, and then this one's cursed city.
- 1:08:52Is it, is it just a duology or is it a trilogy?
- 1:08:57Maybe I'm not. Sure.
- 1:09:00Because she is the author that did the Sacred Stones trilogy.
- 1:09:04That's the one with dragon shifters and that I have it on
- 1:09:08my shelf. I haven't read it yet.
- 1:09:11Have you read Harsany or you haven't read Harsany?
- 1:09:14It's sitting over there. It's waiting on me.
- 1:09:16It's good. I it's, but it's, I have it and
- 1:09:20it has sprayed edges. I got that.
- 1:09:21But that releases September 29th.
- 1:09:24Nice. Yeah, Now the one that I have is
- 1:09:26my wild card because I've seen like there's a placeholder for
- 1:09:30it. It says September.
- 1:09:32I've seen this author talk about it because she's like, she was
- 1:09:35talking and I'm like, is it coming out in September?
- 1:09:38Is it coming out in October? So this is my one that I'm not
- 1:09:41sure on, but I cannot, absolutely cannot wait for this
- 1:09:44book to come out. It's Daemonica by Kaylee Smith.
- 1:09:47Now, have you guys read Phantasma and Enchantra?
- 1:09:51Have you read those ones? I.
- 1:09:52Read Phantasma. You haven't read Enchantra yet?
- 1:09:57I didn't like Phantasma. Enchantress.
- 1:10:02Now I love Phantasma. I love it.
- 1:10:06But Enchantra is is so good because you're not.
- 1:10:12Because when you read Phantasma, you're following Ophelia.
- 1:10:16Ophelia is a little bit more very kind.
- 1:10:20I don't want to call her stick in the bud kind of person, but
- 1:10:22she's just a little bit more serious kind of person.
- 1:10:25Genevieve is not. Yeah.
- 1:10:29And. Found reasons to like just
- 1:10:33randomly fuck what's his face for no reason whatsoever like
- 1:10:37that's what I didn't understand. Yeah, it was like delicious.
- 1:10:41It was like, OK, we're going through this horrible thing
- 1:10:43wait, let me bang you up against the wall.
- 1:10:46But there was no but there was no reason.
- 1:10:50And it didn't. It didn't fit.
- 1:10:51It was like, here was the storyline I'm throwing in smut.
- 1:10:55I think she was like, well, she could die at any moment and she
- 1:10:58was going to have Blackwell's Dick whenever she wanted her,
- 1:11:01when she could have it. And she?
- 1:11:04Said that I would understand that.
- 1:11:07Well, now, now if you now, if you do decide to read Enchantra,
- 1:11:11you're following Genevieve. Now Genevieve is much more of a
- 1:11:15wild card. Yes, wouldn't you say?
- 1:11:17She's much more of a free spirit and that and she goes to, she
- 1:11:22finds this in her mother's things, this place, it's called
- 1:11:27Enchantra. And she goes to Italy because
- 1:11:30this is where this book is based in.
- 1:11:33And she shows up at this villa and that's what it's called,
- 1:11:36it's called Enchantra. And the guy that answers the
- 1:11:39door, he is basically tells her you, you need to leave, you have
- 1:11:44to go now, you're you can't be here.
- 1:11:47But Genevieve does not listen. If you knew anything of her from
- 1:11:52the first book, she does not listen.
- 1:11:55And she goes into the house. And once she's in the house, she
- 1:12:00is in the house because it again, remember the first book
- 1:12:03dealt with devils. This book deals with devils.
- 1:12:06But this is basically adult hide and go seek.
- 1:12:10And it is so good. And you get to meet Rowan
- 1:12:14rowing. Is it Rowan or Rowington?
- 1:12:17Rowington Rowan. It's and their last name is
- 1:12:20Silver. And you get to meet him and he's
- 1:12:22very and he's pierced, he has piercings, his lips, his lip is
- 1:12:27pierced, and other places are pierced and.
- 1:12:32I was thinking of. I'm about to say, you said his
- 1:12:34lip. I'm like, well, who cares about
- 1:12:36that? But I have he has some piercings
- 1:12:40and Genevieve, she has to go into this arrangement with him
- 1:12:47because they don't want anything to happen to her because of this
- 1:12:52adult hide and go seek kind of thing.
- 1:12:54But this is it is very good. So I'm excited to see what
- 1:12:58happens in Daemonica because Daemonica, it is one of the
- 1:13:02characters that you meet in Enchantra that that one and that
- 1:13:06one is going to be, I think it's a dark society kind of thing.
- 1:13:11Secret society is what they have to go into it because I don't
- 1:13:13think it's academia. I think it's a society.
- 1:13:16So it's supposed to be, again, it's devils.
- 1:13:19It's supposed to be really good. Nice SO.
- 1:13:22That is my list, ladies. As I told you, I have a very
- 1:13:25long list. I'm very excited for a lot of
- 1:13:26books. So now let's hear, let's see
- 1:13:30what what do you have? What are you excited about
- 1:13:33coming out in quarter 3? I can't like contain myself a
- 1:13:39little bit. So all right, I I love 4th wing.
- 1:13:44I got severed into reading it before it was finished and so
- 1:13:48I'm a glutton for punishment. So, you know, Rebecca Yarrow
- 1:13:50started writing book 4 and it was like this huge deal.
- 1:13:54There is a mystery book coming out September 29th.
- 1:13:59So excited. We have no name for this book.
- 1:14:03The only thing it says is not book 4.
- 1:14:07That's all that says. It's a period world, yeah.
- 1:14:11There's No title. We don't know who it's about.
- 1:14:13Like I know nothing unless there's like other stuff on the
- 1:14:16Internet because I literally just came across it today on my
- 1:14:18Kindle. Did you see her Instagram post
- 1:14:22yesterday or the day before? Yes, Rebecca Morris loves loves
- 1:14:27a twisty Instagram post. Anyway, she posted a picture of
- 1:14:30her, I think it was her niece or something.
- 1:14:32Reading the book, Oh yes, I did see.
- 1:14:34That on her laptop and she goes something about like, don't
- 1:14:39worry, my niece just got to the part where should she say
- 1:14:43Riddick she and she's like Riddick and then doesn't write
- 1:14:47anything else. I haven't read it.
- 1:14:51I have not read the series because I refuse to be on the
- 1:14:54cliffhanger thing that all you are on because everyone has told
- 1:14:59me that every book ends with the cliffhanger.
- 1:15:02So I'm waiting until is it 5 books are out.
- 1:15:06So there's, yeah. So this is like a.
- 1:15:11Yeah, she's going to be 125, but this one doesn't count.
- 1:15:15Yeah. No, it's like a novella kind of
- 1:15:17thing. Yeah.
- 1:15:18Yeah, what I'm upset about is like this was I say I'm upset
- 1:15:22about it like, you know, people listen to me like authors do
- 1:15:25exactly what I tell them, right? I she I really hope this didn't
- 1:15:30take away time of her writing book for because I want that as
- 1:15:35fast as humanly possible. Yeah, we're going to be waiting
- 1:15:39a while. She's so.
- 1:15:41Dirty. She likes a generally January
- 1:15:45release for her. Yeah, yes.
- 1:15:49And it's even worse, like when she comes out, when she comes
- 1:15:53out with a different book that's like her.
- 1:15:55Contemporary. Some contemporary romance.
- 1:15:58I'm like, why, you know. But anyways.
- 1:16:02Contracts to fulfill, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:05But that's number that jumped up to my number one spot of just
- 1:16:11because I'm like, yeah, I can't contain myself and I don't know
- 1:16:16anything about it. If I knew more about it, maybe
- 1:16:17I'd be less excited about it, but the mysterious factor bumps
- 1:16:22it up. Yeah, OK, so I also added a
- 1:16:28couple things that coming out this month that haven't came out
- 1:16:31yet, just because I can't help myself.
- 1:16:35One of them is it's a series from Sam Soon.
- 1:16:39It's just a Scarlet 4 series. I love Sam Soon It she is one of
- 1:16:44my favorite authors and she's 100% indie and she's written
- 1:16:48over 100 books. She's amazing.
- 1:16:51Yeah, she writes a lot of it's well, she writes everything,
- 1:16:55which is so great about her. Like if you like, she has a
- 1:16:59couple like I think two or three contemporaries, but she writes a
- 1:17:03lot of white shoes. She there's a rock band, there's
- 1:17:06an MC, there's Academy, there's sci-fi alien, there's, you know,
- 1:17:12magic and romanticy and fantasy and paranormal and I mean like
- 1:17:17literally all the things. She even does fairy tale
- 1:17:20retellings like she did an Alice in Wonderland series that is,
- 1:17:24but they're super high spice, usually very meaty, thick books.
- 1:17:32But she's finally finishing the series called the Scarlet 4
- 1:17:37series. And she's famous for rapid
- 1:17:40releases. So when she starts to write a
- 1:17:43book series, she will go through and write the entire thing in
- 1:17:47one go and then divide them up in books, which yeah, I
- 1:17:53absolutely love because they, like you're usually getting, you
- 1:17:56don't have to wait. You get a book, a book, a book,
- 1:17:58a book, a book. But this particular series she
- 1:18:01didn't do that with. So she released rapid release 3
- 1:18:05books in 2022. Oh, oh, you've been waiting a
- 1:18:11while then. Yes and it's freaking horrible.
- 1:18:15So books four and five, which is the end of it 4 is already out
- 1:18:19Five comes out June 30th and I am thrilled, but it's a Scarlet
- 1:18:234 series. I cannot wait and they are it's
- 1:18:26a why choose. It's very dark.
- 1:18:32There's a lot of unalibers in this.
- 1:18:36One of the MMCS is these bones, and I mean, I feel like it's
- 1:18:41kind of obvious and they race like classic cars, like that's
- 1:18:48kind of what they're famous for. But it's totally badass.
- 1:18:50It's in the same world as the Her Havoc series, which is also
- 1:18:56amazing. If you can ignore their ages,
- 1:18:59ignore their ages and it's awesome.
- 1:19:02So very excited about that. Ruby Vincent is coming out with
- 1:19:06a new series. Have you all seen this?
- 1:19:09It's the Hellboy series. The first one is called Deal
- 1:19:13With the Devil. It comes out July 9th and I'm
- 1:19:17very excited. I usually love Ruby Vincent,
- 1:19:20like a lot of her Dark Academy stuff.
- 1:19:24I love her like male, female, NY 2 stuff are really great.
- 1:19:29She does gangs and like mobsters very, very well.
- 1:19:34This is going to be a little bit of I think.
- 1:19:36I think it's going to be paranormal esque, so it would
- 1:19:42fall into that romanticity division, but I'm excited about
- 1:19:45that. Another one of my favorite
- 1:19:47authors who I've literally never heard anybody talk about, but I
- 1:19:51had to wear everything she writes.
- 1:19:53Her name is Meg Shuimei X and it's impossible to like.
- 1:20:01Her last name is XUEMEI. X How would one pronounce that
- 1:20:11Shwayme? That's how they pronounced Oh,
- 1:20:14hey, I would oh, think how I would have pronounced that one.
- 1:20:16Yeah, and the only reason I know that audiobooks, OK, the only
- 1:20:23reason I know that. So she's coming out with or she
- 1:20:29hit book 2 is coming out of the series.
- 1:20:32It's called the Blood and Bound series and that comes out July
- 1:20:3428th. But all of her stuff is great.
- 1:20:37She usually writes white shoes and usually very heavy
- 1:20:41paranormal, supernatural. She has this, it's called the
- 1:20:47Half Blood Academy. It's a little bit of a Greek
- 1:20:51mythology twist, which that series is great.
- 1:20:56Kate Corbin, who was another one that I love.
- 1:21:01She has a new series that two books are out and they'll be
- 1:21:06more, but they are interconnected standalones.
- 1:21:09The series is called A Vow of Blood and Tears and they are
- 1:21:13dark fairy tale retellings with the vampires.
- 1:21:19I love vampires. So I'm excited about that.
- 1:21:27That's pretty much it. Oh, have y'all heard of Casey
- 1:21:32Keane? No, who's that?
- 1:21:34I think so. OK, she's one of my favorite
- 1:21:37authors. Also, she's British, she's
- 1:21:41written, she's written a lot of stuff, and she will also do
- 1:21:45rapid releases. Do you see a theme here?
- 1:21:47Like I really like the authors that do rapid releases and don't
- 1:21:50leave me hanging, but she has a series come out.
- 1:21:53Book 1 is out. Book 2 comes out July 21st.
- 1:21:58It's called the Neverbound Academy, and that's going to be
- 1:22:02a really good one too. But yeah, that's my most of my
- 1:22:08list for this quarter. I.
- 1:22:10Feel like my list was really long.
- 1:22:16Yeah, well. I have a lot of stuff for like
- 1:22:20the rest of the year and even into next year.
- 1:22:24I do have a few things. Well, I have stuff that's coming
- 1:22:27out in October and stuff. So will we do this again in, in
- 1:22:31at the beginning of October? I do have quite a few things.
- 1:22:36Well, I shouldn't say that. It seems like October seems to
- 1:22:39be my big month. I don't know so much in November
- 1:22:43and December. Well, no, I know there's a
- 1:22:45couple. I think in November, December, I
- 1:22:47don't think there's anything. So you might be the the giant
- 1:22:50list then, Kevin. So is that the end of your list
- 1:22:54then, Katie? That's the end of mine, all
- 1:22:56right. Kirsty, let's see what your list
- 1:22:58is now. OK, I don't have much left to be
- 1:23:02honest and everyone's already talked about them, but I have a
- 1:23:06couple. Was Indie published now being
- 1:23:11traditionally published on July 28th is Daggermouth.
- 1:23:17Oh. Yes.
- 1:23:18Yeah, read this. I haven't read it, but it's on
- 1:23:22my list. She's good.
- 1:23:26You know how you guys did that episode?
- 1:23:29Rebecca, Albert and Heather, your enemies to lovers episode.
- 1:23:33Yes. Yeah.
- 1:23:35She said that is a very true enemies to lovers.
- 1:23:38Yes. Wow, never been more correct
- 1:23:41about anything in her life. Very good, loved.
- 1:23:48If you don't like a cliffhanger though, probably not a good
- 1:23:51idea. And then do you guys know Emily
- 1:23:59Rath? Yes.
- 1:24:02Nope. The the pucking series.
- 1:24:05The Jacksonville race. Yeah, yes, she writes normally
- 1:24:12writes that genre contemporary romance like she does cool.
- 1:24:18Like why choose sort of the first one is MMFM very good.
- 1:24:25Anyway, she has written a book which comes out on August 4th
- 1:24:30and it's called Devour Me and it is.
- 1:24:36I can't remember but it is rumored.
- 1:24:41Oh, really? Yeah, so it's oh, sorry, it's
- 1:24:44paranormal MMS paranormal romance which entangles the
- 1:24:49fates of witches, race and mortals.
- 1:24:53What's? It called.
- 1:24:55Devour me. Devour me.
- 1:24:59Comes out in the. Front.
- 1:24:59Do you know if it's interesting? Is it Why choose?
- 1:25:03Don't it just says MMF I'm assuming?
- 1:25:07MMS, OK, I'll take it sounds. Like it?
- 1:25:11Well, it sounds good. Yeah, I have to add that one.
- 1:25:15Yes to my list. I do have an arc, but I haven't
- 1:25:17read it yet, so that's exciting. When I've read it, I'll let you
- 1:25:21know. Yeah.
- 1:25:24Oh, and then I do have a couple others quick mentions.
- 1:25:30Not quite dark romance, but romantic suspense.
- 1:25:36OK. Stay with me.
- 1:25:38It's called Into the Fading Twilight by Catherine cows.
- 1:25:43Anyone know Catherine cows? She's a big name in my world.
- 1:25:49Anyway, that comes out July 21st, which is super exciting.
- 1:25:54It's her second book in a series.
- 1:25:55She writes about small towns where there's lots of stabby and
- 1:25:59alive in people. Oh, fun.
- 1:26:01Still contempt. Like still still kind of fluffy.
- 1:26:07Interesting. That is an interesting.
- 1:26:10It's so fluffiness with with unalighing.
- 1:26:14Different sort of noises. It's more.
- 1:26:20It is a little bit more anyway, she's great.
- 1:26:28She's. OK, and then the last one, I
- 1:26:32have to mention it. It is contemporary, but she's my
- 1:26:35favorite author of all time. Chelsea Kurto is releasing her.
- 1:26:40It's her first book that is solely traditionally published.
- 1:26:44So now she's got a series that she's traditionally publishing,
- 1:26:47but this one is the first one that is traditionally published
- 1:26:50from the get go. It's called In Stormy Weather.
- 1:26:52It's about two meteorologists. It comes out on July 14th.
- 1:27:01I have already read it. It's phenomenal.
- 1:27:04If you like fluffy. So much yearning, you know, the
- 1:27:09yearning brings me joy. If you like that sort of thing.
- 1:27:13But maybe too fluffy for Rebecca.
- 1:27:16I did tell Rebecca that she's going to have to read something
- 1:27:18of mine though, so maybe I'll put that one.
- 1:27:22We're going to. I'll pick.
- 1:27:23Something else for you. We're going to have a great
- 1:27:24time. You might, you might change my
- 1:27:29whole trajectory. You never know.
- 1:27:30You never know, maybe I'll make you read Pucking Around that's
- 1:27:35we were talking about earlier. Yeah, it's it's hot.
- 1:27:39It's hot. It's a lot of a lot of penises
- 1:27:45in not a lot of holes. Interesting.
- 1:27:49Yeah, wait, the perks of being a physical therapist.
- 1:27:56She's a she's a physio for the hockey team.
- 1:27:59Does does the penises spring like we had talked about the
- 1:28:03other day? Did they do they spring out?
- 1:28:05I do, they do. They do.
- 1:28:07Yes, that might be so. One of them is pierced.
- 1:28:10Yes. One of the three, he's my
- 1:28:13favorite. Interesting.
- 1:28:16This was interesting. So it's based on or it's set in
- 1:28:22Jacksonville, FL, like where I live.
- 1:28:24So I found that very ironic. And I also think it's hilarious
- 1:28:28that they put a professional hockey team in Jacksonville, FL
- 1:28:31because it's hot as balls here. But you know, I recommended that
- 1:28:40book. I recommended that book to my
- 1:28:42sister because like, I'm, so I have one sister who will read
- 1:28:46the dark smutty stuff. I have another sister who I
- 1:28:50don't know, I guess she wants to consider herself cultured.
- 1:28:52So she reads like shit, like memoirs and whatever.
- 1:28:55She's one of those people, OK, but she's really.
- 1:28:58Not that cultured. She's also the sister that loves
- 1:29:00ACOTAR. So anyways, I told her I was
- 1:29:04like, she asked me what I was reading and I was reading that
- 1:29:07book and I said, oh I'm reading this.
- 1:29:10She's like, oh, it's free on Hoopla, I can just borrow it.
- 1:29:12I said yes, borrow it from Hoopla and listen to that
- 1:29:16audiobook. Oh, the listening is next level.
- 1:29:20She texts me, she's like what the fuck?
- 1:29:24And I just said you're welcome, You're welcome.
- 1:29:28She's like, this is hot. This is so hot.
- 1:29:31You read this stuff all the time.
- 1:29:32Absolutely, yes, absolutely. Have you converted her?
- 1:29:37To start doing this a lot more often than her other books that
- 1:29:42she typically reads. Yes, so I got her to start
- 1:29:46reading the Bonsa Thai series by Jay Bree.
- 1:29:49Oh. Love.
- 1:29:50So because I absolutely adore that series, there are also
- 1:29:53special editions from the book of shop coming out on those.
- 1:29:56You can still order them now. So FYI.
- 1:30:00But I, I got her, I got her into that because it's, it's slow
- 1:30:04burn, so it doesn't like smack you in the face with smut.
- 1:30:07So I figured she'd like it a little bit more.
- 1:30:10And she's read book 1 and she's liked it so far.
- 1:30:14So I'm hoping that you know she'll keep reading it.
- 1:30:18Yeah, but once you're in it, you're in it, right?
- 1:30:21Yeah, Oh yeah. My daughter just read that
- 1:30:24series for the first time and she was like, Oh my God, it's so
- 1:30:26good, I said. I know it's amazing.
- 1:30:29It's very, I'm still, I'm very much in my villain era.
- 1:30:34That is where I'm at. So maybe you can get your sister
- 1:30:37to to join me in her in my villain era.
- 1:30:39Do you think you could get her to read those kind of things?
- 1:30:42Well, the Bonds that tie is very much a villain then.
- 1:30:47She will fit right in. Yeah, say, it's very much the
- 1:30:50villain thing. So yeah, I mean, we haven't
- 1:30:52tried her on like the Lord series or anything like that
- 1:30:55yet, but. My 1 friend, she read that
- 1:30:58series and she would write me and tell me and she would send
- 1:31:01me hot faces and stuff like that when she was reading that Yeah,
- 1:31:06I have not that was not I don't have that one on my TBR, but she
- 1:31:10did read that and that's which she would send me Yeah it's.
- 1:31:15But then I got. Her very hot series.
- 1:31:17Then I think I got her to read. Oh, she was reading.
- 1:31:21Was it Scarlett St. What's her?
- 1:31:25Name oh St. Clair.
- 1:31:26Saint Clair, What is it? Her Hades and Persephone.
- 1:31:30Persephone, she was reading that and she was telling me what book
- 1:31:35she was reading. And then she told me the next
- 1:31:37one she was reading. And I'm like, I'm like, I think
- 1:31:40something happened here because she was saying that something
- 1:31:41wasn't making sense or something.
- 1:31:43I told her I said you skipped the whole book and she was
- 1:31:45reading it and she missed the whole book and she had to go
- 1:31:47back and, and read it. But.
- 1:31:50But that. Yeah.
- 1:31:51But that's the same girl that was reading that one you were
- 1:31:53just talking about. So.
- 1:31:56All right. Is that all your stuff, Kirsty?
- 1:31:59I think. That's not anymore.
- 1:32:00I'm just you, you reminded me. I'm just checking the just
- 1:32:07checking the release date. Oh, a little early.
- 1:32:09It comes out in three days. OK.
- 1:32:12How do we feel about Rena Kent? I like Rena Kent.
- 1:32:16I love her actually. I don't know who that is.
- 1:32:22Nope. What what what?
- 1:32:24What does she write? Dark.
- 1:32:26Hot, hot, hot. Yeah.
- 1:32:30Interesting. It's pretty dark as well I
- 1:32:33think. Yeah, dark.
- 1:32:35It's very spicy. A lot of like you talk about
- 1:32:40morally Gray, morally black. Morally black.
- 1:32:44Yeah. So I just read.
- 1:32:46I just finished today. Big day for books for Kirsty,
- 1:32:51God of War. Yeah, I missed it today.
- 1:32:55Oh. That's a good one.
- 1:32:58And yes, again, she writes all, but they're all.
- 1:33:02So it's this massive. It's called the Reina verse.
- 1:33:04It's going to be like sturdy books now, and they're all
- 1:33:07interconnected. Oh, interesting.
- 1:33:10Oh, that's a big series. Yeah, or like so it's like
- 1:33:14generational. So like the the I would call
- 1:33:19this main, I would call that the main series.
- 1:33:21Would you agree with me, Katie? Those.
- 1:33:22Yes. And but then the books off of
- 1:33:26that are like, you learn about like the main characters in
- 1:33:30these six books. You learn about their parents
- 1:33:32and how their parents got together.
- 1:33:35So it becomes too interactional. It's very good.
- 1:33:38I just did the Heart of my Monster trilogy.
- 1:33:42Oh I love that. Was so good.
- 1:33:44So good. Yes, that was so good.
- 1:33:48Anyway, we've gotten off track. In three days, Tempting Venom
- 1:33:53comes out, which is the third one in the Vipers trilogy.
- 1:33:56So it was beautiful vibe, beautiful venom, sweet venom,
- 1:34:02and now tempting venom. I think that's correct.
- 1:34:05So would you put them in the category of like a dark romance
- 1:34:08kind of thing? Yeah, yeah, very dark.
- 1:34:10Yeah, I like dark romance. Dark romance.
- 1:34:13No, I think you'd like it. Yeah.
- 1:34:16There's just no. Magic.
- 1:34:23But very dark I. Do like dark romance?
- 1:34:25I mean, I do enjoy it. I think you would very much
- 1:34:28enjoy it. I'm not saying you wouldn't.
- 1:34:30Yeah, 'cause look at my friends for mere mortals.
- 1:34:35I love Nico. Interesting.
- 1:34:41What have you said? 30 books.
- 1:34:44Are they all big thick books or are they like little books that
- 1:34:48you can read real quick? They're.
- 1:34:50Three, 5400, maybe 500 pages at most.
- 1:34:54Like they're. Huge.
- 1:34:55Yeah, some of them are quite short and some of them are
- 1:34:57quite, I think, like. Do I have any?
- 1:35:02Oh my God, have any her physical copy?
- 1:35:06So the Legacy of God series is the main 10 OK and the first
- 1:35:11book is 576 pages. OK, OK, so but.
- 1:35:15It's quick. It goes by quick.
- 1:35:17How quick do I reckon? They're all pretty dark.
- 1:35:22Yeah. That one's a bit like fucked up
- 1:35:27in the beginning, but I think my second one is Landon and Mia
- 1:35:35that's got ruin. Yeah, she's mute.
- 1:35:39Which I Yes, very. I read those so long ago that
- 1:35:45wasn't out yet. Wow, yeah OK fair.
- 1:35:48I only just picked her up this year and I've read, I reckon
- 1:35:53I've read at least 15. Yeah, I read God of War and God
- 1:35:57of Malice. Yeah, nice.
- 1:36:00Yeah, there's six of them in that series.
- 1:36:04Yeah. But yeah, would recommend
- 1:36:06anyway. Sweet Venom is coming out in
- 1:36:10three days. It's.
- 1:36:12Exciting for three days for me because it's the 27th year.
- 1:36:17Oh, yeah, because you're in. Yes, you're in tomorrow.
- 1:36:20Were in yesterday for you. Yes.
- 1:36:23I always find it so weird right now while you're over there, but
- 1:36:27soon you'll be behind us. You'll not be.
- 1:36:29Behind you so you know it's fine.
- 1:36:31Yeah, because all three of us are East Coast.
- 1:36:33Yes, yeah, I did. Ask and then you're going to be
- 1:36:36well, when you're in Alaska. What is?
- 1:36:38Because that's that's not West Coast.
- 1:36:41Isn't Alaska its own thing? Alaska does whatever Alaska
- 1:36:44wants. I.
- 1:36:45Feel I can see. I don't even know if they follow
- 1:36:49I think. What well, see, my brother lived
- 1:36:51in Alaska, but, but he was when he lived in Alaska, he's down.
- 1:36:56He was down in the tail part of Alaska.
- 1:36:59I think he was Pacific Time there, if I remember correctly,
- 1:37:04because it's been a number of years since he had lived there.
- 1:37:06But I think Alaska, there's there's another time zone or
- 1:37:11something happening up there. They have two.
- 1:37:14They have the Alaska time zone and they also follow the Hawaii
- 1:37:17time zone. So you'll be probably you could
- 1:37:23be like 6 hours behind us because I think, I think Hawaii
- 1:37:25is 6 hours behind us. Hawaii is it's nearly 9:00 AM
- 1:37:30and Alaska, the Alaska one, it's nearly 10 AM.
- 1:37:35OK. 10 AM, So it's almost 2 here.
- 1:37:37So OK, so you'll be that many hours and then as you go on your
- 1:37:41adventure and as you drive South, then that'll change.
- 1:37:46By the time you get to now, when you get to Argentina, what time
- 1:37:50zone are they on? It'll be similar to Lai believe.
- 1:37:56OK, interesting. Yes, we're going to follow
- 1:37:59Kirsty on her journey and live vicariously through her while
- 1:38:03she does this. What time did you say it is
- 1:38:05there? Oh, no, they're an hour ahead.
- 1:38:07They're an hour ahead of you. Argentina, OK, so it's so it's
- 1:38:11252 there. Interesting.
- 1:38:15So then you'll be ahead of us by an hour.
- 1:38:16That's it's going to be interesting over time I think.
- 1:38:20But I think it'll be better though.
- 1:38:22Everyone is. Yes, but I think it'll be better
- 1:38:24than what's happening right now because you're right now at
- 1:38:28almost 2:00 in the morning where you are.
- 1:38:30I did nap. Oh, but say bless you.
- 1:38:33Yeah. She's brave.
- 1:38:36She is brave person. From like yeah and not for like
- 1:38:41an hour was fine. So that that's all, that's all
- 1:38:46of your books. So now.
- 1:38:48Yes, sorry, I'm finally done when I said I had nothing to
- 1:38:51talk about. OK, OK.
- 1:38:57I've only got well, OK, I've got a like a extra.
- 1:39:00I got 4 because it comes out the 28th, but I didn't realize that.
- 1:39:06But I'm going to talk about it anyway because I'm very excited
- 1:39:08about it. And that is the arc that I'm
- 1:39:11reading the wild born by Oops, oops by her name, Perry Tarani.
- 1:39:23And just a shout out because I'm wearing the do we see?
- 1:39:29Can we see that that? Was cute, yeah.
- 1:39:32You're snazzy. You've got these.
- 1:39:34You got a fancy shirt? Where am I?
- 1:39:38Hot alien man chick from Earth gets stranded there together on
- 1:39:43a planet and got to figure shit out.
- 1:39:46So it's really good. I have not finished it but I'm
- 1:39:51excited for the world to get to read it because it's really
- 1:39:55good. So OK, let's see.
- 1:40:00Another alien paranormal romanticy book by Kimberly
- 1:40:07Lemming. She does kind of like alien
- 1:40:11smut. That's really funny.
- 1:40:13This one is called I Punched an Alien and now we're in couples
- 1:40:18therapy. That is the entire name of the
- 1:40:20book. Interesting.
- 1:40:23I'm here for it. Yes, and that is number 2 in her
- 1:40:26Cosmic Chaos series. So literally anything she writes
- 1:40:32I'm excited for. I haven't read the first book in
- 1:40:35that particular series, but I have read several other books
- 1:40:38from her and my God, like there's a perfect palate
- 1:40:43cleanser for me if I've read like a really heavy book 'cause
- 1:40:46it's just like monsters and aliens and smut and just a great
- 1:40:50time every every time. And they're ridiculous titles
- 1:40:54every time also. OK, and then let me see that one
- 1:40:59is August 18th. And then Hannah Nicole Mirror.
- 1:41:08Mirror, I think is how we say her last name.
- 1:41:11She did the Assistant to the Villain series.
- 1:41:15Oh, I know what that is. I've seen that before.
- 1:41:17Yes, so book #4 which is adversary to the villain.
- 1:41:22It comes out August 4th and that's like cozy romanticy.
- 1:41:28I I've only read the first book in the series but I loved it so
- 1:41:32much that I bought like 3 special editions and it's just
- 1:41:36like that book alone. There is not really any spice to
- 1:41:42the first book but but so so freaking good.
- 1:41:47Like it is so hilarious and I just could not recommend it
- 1:41:51enough. Love that.
- 1:41:54OK last book is the Iron Hex by Victoria Walsh.
- 1:41:59That's also August 4th. She this is going to be her
- 1:42:03debut novel. It's romanticy, has witches in
- 1:42:06it. I just see her a lot on
- 1:42:09Instagram and the vibes she's given are vibing and I'm really
- 1:42:14excited for it. So yeah.
- 1:42:17And that's all. Fantastic.
- 1:42:20Have you read the Dark The Dark Lords guide to?
- 1:42:25Oh, I have it. I already know.
- 1:42:27Yeah, but I have not yet. I love that one.
- 1:42:30It's so like, it's so campy and hilarious.
- 1:42:34Like, I love it. Yeah, I love, I love like
- 1:42:38serious books, but I love humor. Like if a book has humor, I'm
- 1:42:44going to get probably give it five stars regardless of if it's
- 1:42:48actually, you know, good or whatever.
- 1:42:51Like I love humor in a book. Love it.
- 1:42:54Have you read any of the Twisted Sisters?
- 1:42:57Oh. I love the twisted sisters.
- 1:42:59OK. I Caroline Peckham and Suzanne
- 1:43:03Valenti. Oh.
- 1:43:04OK, well I've read. I have fun I DNF them I they are
- 1:43:10not my but now again like you guys use use love them.
- 1:43:14I just could not get into Zodiac Academy.
- 1:43:19I have it sitting on my. Shelf.
- 1:43:21Have you tried the? Do you?
- 1:43:23Do I don't ever do I don't ever do audio now I just I just
- 1:43:28couldn't get into it. It's just, yeah, it just it, it
- 1:43:31drug for me and I got to, it took me like over a week just to
- 1:43:36get to chapter 8 and it was just and it was one of those kind of
- 1:43:40feelings, you know what I'm saying?
- 1:43:41And so IDNFD it. Their other series, Zodiac
- 1:43:46Academy is actually one of my least favorite series.
- 1:43:49So I've written yes, but I do not like to be emotionally
- 1:43:53damaged by books. Oh my God.
- 1:43:55And they it's like their goal to like make you bleed through your
- 1:44:02eyeballs. It's like it's marble.
- 1:44:05OK, so this series is amazing. I only like the 4th book hasn't
- 1:44:12come out yet, but this series is so funny and very it's dark too.
- 1:44:20It's absolutely hilarious. But it's set in Academy setting.
- 1:44:26It's called the brutal boys of ever like prep series.
- 1:44:29And yes, yeah, so the first one is called Kings of Quarantine.
- 1:44:33It's set during like a pandemic that happens.
- 1:44:36So it's like there's people fighting over toilet paper and
- 1:44:41you know, like stuff like that. So there's a lot of humor and
- 1:44:46things and a lot of the characters like one of the it's
- 1:44:49why choose and one of the main male characters like you can't
- 1:44:53if you wake him up, like he wakes up very violently and
- 1:44:57before he's about to wake, he always says the most ridiculous
- 1:45:00things and he'll be like, die fucked a watermelon with your
- 1:45:04grandmother's ballerina or something, like just the most
- 1:45:07random shit. And you're just like, Oh my God,
- 1:45:09I just love him. It's so funny and there there is
- 1:45:14a Internet wide joke of the squid emoji based off of this
- 1:45:19book series. Really.
- 1:45:21OK, you can literally look up the squid emoji like Google it
- 1:45:26on squid emoji Twisted Sisters. And yeah, but it's also a thing.
- 1:45:33Like you can't tell people what the squid emoji means because
- 1:45:36they have to read the book series.
- 1:45:38When you read this, is it, is it the same kind of thing where
- 1:45:41like one sister's writing 1 chapter or the other sisters
- 1:45:44writing the same chapter? Is it that same kind of writing?
- 1:45:48Because see, I just didn't like how they for me, I didn't like
- 1:45:51how they wrote. Is it a different kind of vibe
- 1:45:55do you get? When you're reading it, this is
- 1:45:57way, no, this is way different because it's not.
- 1:46:02There's one female main character, so it's not as
- 1:46:07segregated. You know, it's a lot more fluid
- 1:46:11now and, and the characters in it, the male characters in it
- 1:46:15are different enough to where if one sister wrote 1 male
- 1:46:19character and one sister wrote another male male character,
- 1:46:22like you wouldn't really be able to tell just because the
- 1:46:24characters are so. Different, so different.
- 1:46:26OK, maybe I'll give them another try.
- 1:46:30It's beautiful. And the audio books by Bridget
- 1:46:32and Jake Bordeaux are? Say less amazing.
- 1:46:36Say less Now I have a question for you guys now.
- 1:46:40Have any of you ever went to any of the big book conferences?
- 1:46:44You know, when they have them like like book con, romantic
- 1:46:47con, monster con Have you have you?
- 1:46:50I would love to go to one of them someday.
- 1:46:52I would love it if they had like they came to Louisville because
- 1:46:55I'm so, you know, I'm really close.
- 1:46:58I would love it if they did. I would love to go to romantic
- 1:47:01con. That would be my, I think that
- 1:47:04it's only in LA or Orlando. You're close.
- 1:47:06You could probably go to Orlando.
- 1:47:09But have but have you, any of you gone to any of those?
- 1:47:12I went to Outlander Con years and years ago.
- 1:47:17That was fun. And I've gone to like Comic Con
- 1:47:20in New York, which also had some authors and stuff there.
- 1:47:24I haven't done the book things yet because I haven't found
- 1:47:30usually. Honestly, I don't find out about
- 1:47:32them until. After the tickets are long sold,
- 1:47:35yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:47:37Like there was one in like New Orleans I really wanted to go
- 1:47:40to. And I found, I found out like
- 1:47:41the weekend before there was one in Texas I really wanted to go
- 1:47:44to. Same thing I was like.
- 1:47:47Well, they have like where Jess is that they have a Polycon
- 1:47:50there that's close to you, I think.
- 1:47:53I think that would be a really neat one to go to.
- 1:47:56Yeah. Oh, what was the one?
- 1:47:59But romantic econ? Because Chelsea went to romantic
- 1:48:02econ and she got to meet a lot of the different authors and
- 1:48:05stuff and she went around and she gave all the ones that she
- 1:48:09met because she does, she has a 3D printer.
- 1:48:11And she did Little Wolves because she had read the was it
- 1:48:16the The Wolf King? Is that what it is on the wolf?
- 1:48:19What is it? Yeah, what is it?
- 1:48:21The wolf King? The Wolf.
- 1:48:22King, the Night Prince and very good.
- 1:48:25And so she was handing those out, you know, so people would
- 1:48:28remember, like remember, because Chelsea does narration and
- 1:48:32stuff. So so she was handing out her
- 1:48:34stuff and that, but she loved it.
- 1:48:36She absolutely loved Romana Secon and I, and she was there
- 1:48:39the whole because I think it's like a whole weekend thing and
- 1:48:42stuff like that. But I would love to do that.
- 1:48:44I think that was super fun and you get to dress up and stuff.
- 1:48:48I think that would be fun. I want to do one of the about
- 1:48:52the fairy ball things, you know, where they have all that.
- 1:48:55I would love to do that. Yeah.
- 1:48:57I want to wear one of those big dresses and I want to wear and
- 1:49:00push this all up and have overflowing and big gown and
- 1:49:05something I don't know. I could never get my husband to
- 1:49:08go with me. He would never.
- 1:49:09He would, he would come with me to the hotel.
- 1:49:12He would not partake in the events because he'd rather he
- 1:49:17would bring his his gaming system with it and he would do
- 1:49:19that. I did, again, little left field.
- 1:49:25I did sports romance con this year, which is in Minnesota, in
- 1:49:33Minneapolis. That was pretty good.
- 1:49:36Yeah, but I didn't know anyone. So Jared came with me to
- 1:49:39Minnesota. We were there for four days, I
- 1:49:41think, and it was a 2 1/2 day convention and I made some great
- 1:49:45friends. It's like 5 or 6 of us in a
- 1:49:47little group chat, which is cute.
- 1:49:49But yeah, again, I met some really cool authors.
- 1:49:52And yeah, I, I really only went because I wanted to meet Chelsea
- 1:49:58Kerto, the author I was talking about before, because she was
- 1:50:02there, so I met her. But then I also met some other
- 1:50:04really cool authors and now I like Arc Reed and I'm on their
- 1:50:07St. teams and. Stuff which is very cool.
- 1:50:09So it's a great way to make connections.
- 1:50:13Oh, absolutely. Well, when you were saying
- 1:50:15Outlander Con Heidi Adams, that was on the podcast in May
- 1:50:21because she's doing her audio book for her Rose Moon book and
- 1:50:25the one guy that is going to do the voice from it, he was on
- 1:50:28Outlander. Yes.
- 1:50:30And I can't remember, I don't know his name now.
- 1:50:32I can't remember what she said. But but yeah, she went down to
- 1:50:36the Outlander thing because that's I think like in North or
- 1:50:39South Carolina. She went, she met him, she
- 1:50:42showed her book. This was before it was published
- 1:50:45or anything. And she gave it to him in a
- 1:50:46spiral bound that she had printed.
- 1:50:48Like it, like it. Office Depot or whatever.
- 1:50:52Yeah. And.
- 1:50:53And she told him, well, she said someday, if this ever gets made
- 1:50:56into a movie, she said, I love you, you know, for you to play
- 1:51:00this character. And he took it.
- 1:51:03But she just was like, he'll never Remember Me, whatever.
- 1:51:05Then she went back after her book got published, she went
- 1:51:09back down because he was going to be there again.
- 1:51:11And she asked him if he would voice the the main character in
- 1:51:16her book. And he said, oh, yeah, he's
- 1:51:18like, here's my agent's name. But she said she didn't think,
- 1:51:22you know, you know, because sometimes, you know, they'll
- 1:51:23just be nice to you when they meet you.
- 1:51:25And she said within minutes, his agent called back and said, oh,
- 1:51:28yeah, that's so cool. Yep.
- 1:51:30So he's doing the narration for. I'm so happy for her and she's
- 1:51:33so excited. But Rose Moon is another very,
- 1:51:36very good book as well. So if you guys are interested in
- 1:51:39little or little Heidi Adams and she's so cute.
- 1:51:42Was that the same guy that's doing the Quinn app?
- 1:51:46I don't know. Have you heard of the Quinn app?
- 1:51:49No, yes. Nope.
- 1:51:54So it's an application on your phone that you you have to like,
- 1:51:58you have a subscription. And they do like, they're not
- 1:52:03books, they're like short stories or stories and they do
- 1:52:06like episodes in audio, but they're just, they're just
- 1:52:11fails. Pure filth.
- 1:52:13Pretty. Much.
- 1:52:14Yeah. They're great.
- 1:52:15Interesting, the interesting things we're finding out from
- 1:52:18Kirsty here today. So they've got, I think they
- 1:52:22got, yeah, I'm bringing the vibe they got.
- 1:52:29Have you heard of heated rivalry?
- 1:52:31Yeah, of course I'd be. Like man, you're under a rock if
- 1:52:34you didn't know. That's the Hockey 1, correct?
- 1:52:37Yes, yes, yes. OK.
- 1:52:38The gay hockey. Male male.
- 1:52:40Yeah, male. Male hockey and.
- 1:52:42Now there's and they do TV. Yes.
- 1:52:44Yes, yeah. So that became ATV show.
- 1:52:46Yeah. And then Quinn picked them up.
- 1:52:49So Quinn are very good at their marketing and they picked them
- 1:52:51up to narrate a book or an episode or whatever they call
- 1:52:55it. So they did it and then they
- 1:52:58just had. So then there was Off Campus,
- 1:53:01which is the TV show that just came out.
- 1:53:03Also hockey. The couple, a couple from that,
- 1:53:09not the main couple, but a different couple that will be
- 1:53:11the main couple. Long story short, they're doing
- 1:53:14it, which is super exciting. But one of the guys from
- 1:53:17Outlander is doing long story. The guy from Outlander is doing
- 1:53:22a book on. Oh, Quinn.
- 1:53:25Interesting. Interesting.
- 1:53:26Yeah. Pure filth.
- 1:53:27No storyline. Applied.
- 1:53:30No. So it's one of those ones that's
- 1:53:32like 90% smart, 10% story. OK, what?
- 1:53:37OK, interesting. Oh, now just something random
- 1:53:42though, we are going to have in August, I'm hoping to have some
- 1:53:47couple authors that are going to be coming on that are going to
- 1:53:49be a little bit more spicy than than our regular stuff.
