  I didn't know who I was because I had been surviving for so long.

  It's your girl, Emily, and I want to talk to you about the version of me that

  existed beneath survival mode.

  Because survival can look strong, but it can also hide a lot of pain.

  For a long time, I thought surviving meant I was okay.

  I was getting up, I was functioning, I was pushing forward.

  But surviving isn't the same thing as living, and it definitely isn't the same thing as being healed.

  Survival mode taught me how to cope, but it didn't teach me how to feel.

  It taught me how to keep moving, but not how to rest.

  It taught me how to endure heartbreak, but not how to let God heal it.

  I had learned how to carry pain quietly, how to smile while bleeding,

  how to be strong while being empty.

  And if I'm honest, survival mode made me believe I was independent,

  when really I was just disconnected.

  Disconnected from my heart, disconnected from my needs, disconnected from God,

  even though I loved Him. because when you're surviving, you don't slow down long enough to listen.

  You're just trying to make it through the day.

  Heartbreak will do that to you. Loss will do that to you. Trauma will do that
• 1:47
  to you. It teaches you to armor up.

  And I wore mine well. But here's the truth God gently whispered to me one day.

  Daughter, you don't have to survive with me. You get to heal.

  That's a big game changer. Because healing didn't start with answers.

  It started with surrender.

  I had to let God see the parts of me I had hid even from myself.

  The anger, the grief, the confusion, the fear.

  I had to admit that heartbreak didn't just hurt my heart.

  It reshaped how I loved, trusted, and chose. and God didn't shame me for surviving. He honored it.

  But he also invited me deeper, out of striving, out of numbing,

  out of pretending I was okay, and into restoration.

  I started discovering who I was beneath survival mode.

  I was tender. I was sensitive. I was thoughtful. I was discerning.

  I was deeply emotional. And that wasn't weakness.

  Survival told me to harden. God told me to soften.

  Survival told me to protect myself at all costs.

  God taught me discernment instead of walls. Survival told me to rush love.

  God told me to wait in safety. And healing didn't happen overnight.

  Some days I felt strong. But some days I felt completely undone.

  But slowly and faithfully, God rebuilt me from the inside out.

  Not into who I used to be, but into who I was always meant to be.

  So if you're listening right now and you're tired, not lazy tired,

  but soul tired, if you're functioning but not fulfilled, smiling but aching,

  strong but exhausted, I want you to hear this.

  Survival mode saved you once, But it doesn't have to be your forever.

  God doesn't just want you alive. He wants you whole.

  And the woman you're becoming, she exists beneath the coping,

  beneath the gardening, beneath the rushing.

  She's waiting for you to slow down long enough to meet her.

  And God is right there with you, patient, gentle, restoring.

  You don't have to earn healing. You don't have to rush wholeness.
