- 0:04Hey, welcome back to This Week Before the Robot Apocalypse, the
- 0:07only show that reads the terms of service so you don't have to.
- 0:10This week the theme is Autonomy without Accountability, because
- 0:13while the robots are learning to do everything, nobody seems to
- 0:16know who is actually responsible when the things do go sideways.
- 0:20But hey, that's the problem for future us.
- 0:22For now, let's dive in. Uber just announced it's going
- 0:25full Skynet 20,000. Autonomous taxis are coming.
- 0:29They're working with Lucid for the hardware and Nero for the
- 0:32software. Because if there's one thing
- 0:34better than relying on one unprofitable tech company, it's
- 0:37relying on three. These robo taxis are gunning for
- 0:41level 4 autonomy, which means no steering wheel, no driver, and
- 0:45no one to yell at when they miss your stop because your street
- 0:47name has A-IN it. Meanwhile, the US just passed
- 0:50its first major national crypto legislation called the Genius
- 0:54Act. Because nothing says we've
- 0:56learned from the past like branding your crypto regulation
- 0:59after the one thing that's never been associated with crypto
- 1:02legislation. Genius.
- 1:05It requires stable coins to be backed one to one with actual
- 1:08dollars, which is great, but it doesn't require any consumer
- 1:11protections, just classic. So it's like putting a seat belt
- 1:15on a roller coaster that's still missing half of the track.
- 1:18Honestly I think it's a great step.
- 1:19Shout out to Dave Zacks over at Netflix.
- 1:22They've officially used Gen. AI in production.
- 1:24In the Argentine show El Atanata, they generated A
- 1:28collapsing building scene 10 times faster than with
- 1:31traditional VFX. Which means in 2026, your
- 1:35favorite disaster movie may be written, acted, and destroyed
- 1:39all by the same model. Is it art?
- 1:41Is it progress? Or are we just feeding
- 1:43generative AI so much content that it eventually remakes?
- 1:47Love as blind as a hostage negotiation simulator.
- 1:51And Speaking of AI behaving badly, Sam Altman says don't
- 1:55trust ChatGPT with your sensitive data.
- 1:59Love that. Nothing like ACEO telling you
- 2:01not to trust his own product right after launching an agent
- 2:04that can do your shopping, schedule your meetings, and sell
- 2:08your data faster than you can say unsubscribe.
- 2:11Meanwhile, the Perplexity CEO came out and warned Big Tech
- 2:14will copy anything that's good. Which, yeah, welcome to Tuesday.
- 2:18That's like warning a sandwich artist at Subway that people
- 2:21might order sandwiches. In other news, AI has been
- 2:23tricking people into booking vacations to places that don't
- 2:26exist. So if you find yourself stuck in
- 2:29Santorini, Montana waiting for a tour guide named ChatGPT, maybe
- 2:35just check Google Street View next time.
- 2:37I took me a minute to get through that.
- 2:39And Mercedes-Benz now lets you use your in car camera to join
- 2:43Microsoft team calls while driving.
- 2:46Nothing says we value your safety like letting you deliver
- 2:49quarterly results while changing lanes in the Audubon.
- 2:52So to recap, the cars are driving themselves, the money is
- 2:55being printed in code, the movies are AI hallucinations,
- 2:59and your next team meeting might include a dashboard Cam.
- 3:02Autonomy, definitely. Accountability, anyone?
- 3:06Before we go, shout out to Cooler 89 who left us a spicy
- 3:09five star review for the AI for Founders podcast, he says.
- 3:13Finally, a show where founders talk AI without sound sounding
- 3:17like they're trying to sell me a pyramid scheme made of GPU's.
- 3:21Honestly, I feel sane. So if you love stories about the
- 3:24humans still crazy enough to build this future, not just
- 3:27survive it, check out the Code storypodcast@codestory.co.
- 3:31Each episode, Noah Lab heart interview startup founders and
- 3:34CT OS who took ideas from back of the napkin scribbles to
- 3:38products that scale. It's raw, honest, and deeply
- 3:41inspiring. Like the opposite of a fake AI
- 3:43generated travel vlog. So hit up Code Story wherever
- 3:47you get your podcast. That's Code story.co, the
- 3:50podcast for builders, dreamers, and those who still believe in
- 3:53debugging reality. I'm Ryan Estes from AI for
- 3:56Founders, and this has been this week before the robot
- 3:59apocalypse. Rate the pod, hug your humans,
- 4:01and remember, if the bots come for your job, just ask them to
- 4:04do your taxes first. See you next time.
