- 0:01Speaker 1: Because fuck you, that's why. Is a founding member of
- 0:03Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Hello and welcome to episode two hundred and ninety of
- 0:44Speaker 2: the b FY.
- 0:45Speaker 1: T W BAM is getting close.
- 0:50Speaker 2: To ninety, getting very closet, getting real close to three hundred.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Anybody challenge us? Now we're too high up.
- 0:57Speaker 2: There, the triple Hondo crazy.
- 1:00Speaker 1: It's one hundred for each of a lot, one hundred
- 1:03Speaker 1: pennies each.
- 1:05Speaker 3: We made it about about what we've made.
- 1:08Speaker 1: That's about six years.
- 1:12Speaker 2: It's about it's about how much we've actually pocketed each other.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Pocketed, right, yeah, uh okay.
- 1:23Speaker 2: So uh yeah, this is this is gonna be a
- 1:26Speaker 2: regular ass show. In fact, I titled it Playing Vanilla
- 1:29Speaker 2: Ass Show because it's gonna be just a regular show.
- 1:31Speaker 2: It's just three of us. We're gonna we're gonna play
- 1:33Speaker 2: some silly ass games and have some silly ass fun
- 1:36Speaker 2: like we always do. And we're gonna start, as we
- 1:40Speaker 2: always do, with introductions, and each introduction comes with the question, so, Augie, oh,
- 1:45Speaker 2: foe you some bitch?
- 1:48Speaker 1: Would you do?
- 1:49Speaker 2: He's a gamer storyteller and he used to be my
- 1:52Speaker 2: youngest friend. Now he's not. He's a.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Doctor and now he's not.
- 2:10Speaker 5: I never know, never know where I'm going with that
- 2:17Speaker 5: every single episode, but I always find.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Mysel So it's fair. What's going on up, dude? Where
- 2:25Speaker 2: you been right here?
- 2:30Speaker 3: What left me with this fucker over here?
- 2:32Speaker 1: What?
- 2:36Speaker 2: What is your most joyous in person, so not in
- 2:42Speaker 2: a video game, sporting achievement that I've done, that that
- 2:49Speaker 2: you're most proud of that you've done.
- 2:55Speaker 3: I guess back when I was a kid, when I
- 2:58Speaker 3: used to play baseball with neighborhood kids, I used to
- 3:02Speaker 3: be able to boast. I was ambidextrous. I could switch
- 3:05Speaker 3: hands when I'm batting. That will throw off pitchers all
- 3:09Speaker 3: the time, which would oftentimes, you know, score us a few.
- 3:13Speaker 3: It's m yeah, that's awesome.
- 3:16Speaker 2: That's about it.
- 3:17Speaker 3: I honestly, I don't. I'm not a sports guy.
- 3:21Speaker 2: You've hit the ball.
- 3:23Speaker 1: I successfully hit the ball, and that's all you need
- 3:27Speaker 1: to do in baseball is just hit it.
- 3:28Speaker 2: And that's honestly, he's not. I mean to be fair
- 3:35Speaker 2: a little bit. To be fair, that's pretty damn accurate, right.
- 3:39Speaker 2: All you have to do is hit the damn.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Ball and catch it when you're not hitting it.
- 3:43Speaker 2: Yes, and if you're not kidding, it. You got to
- 3:45Speaker 2: catch it, and that's it. That's it, literally, and if
- 3:48Speaker 2: you don't catch it, you got to throw it.
- 3:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and I'm not good at that anymore. I throw
- 3:53Speaker 3: out my back every time I do an overhand to mercy.
- 3:56Speaker 3: But anyways, I was never a sports guy. Yeah, I
- 4:00Speaker 3: was outdoorsys.
- 4:02Speaker 2: I'm gonna put this out there. I think that's pretty apparent.
- 4:06Speaker 2: I think that's pretty obvious. You're not sports.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Oh, I don't only get more apparent.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Last move to his opponent, and he's a veteran and
- 4:15Speaker 2: a podcaster, And as it turns out, a veteran podcaster,
- 4:18Speaker 2: that's Stevie's.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Me sub brother to Love and man, Love fucking missed
- 4:33Speaker 1: you last week.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Man, Yeah, I know, but it looked like you had fun,
- 4:36Speaker 2: you enjoyed that. I watched it as soon as it
- 4:41Speaker 2: was as soon as it was available on the Patreon,
- 4:43Speaker 2: I'm like, I have to see this. I have to
- 4:45Speaker 2: see And it went just about as well as I
- 4:48Speaker 2: could have dreamed. Like, I thought it was amazing.
- 4:51Speaker 1: It was very good positive feedback. I got feedback from
- 4:54Speaker 1: you as you were watching it, got feedback from DJ's
- 4:56Speaker 1: anthus as he was watching it. It was kind of cool,
- 4:58Speaker 1: Like it was like live feedback from two different people,
- 5:01Speaker 1: like this is strange.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I just I just really dug it. And I was like, yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 2: what as well as I could have I could have
- 5:07Speaker 2: hoped for. It was it was solid, and it was
- 5:10Speaker 2: like the ones you knew you knew cold, like they
- 5:13Speaker 2: were all people you'd known for twenty plus years. You
- 5:16Speaker 2: had him dead to write, and then a lot of
- 5:19Speaker 2: the others you were real close. You had it narrow
- 5:21Speaker 2: done to two, and they'd always be one of the two,
- 5:24Speaker 2: and then you you'd zig and when you should have act,
- 5:27Speaker 2: you'd get it wrong, but only just And it was like, damn.
- 5:30Speaker 1: That was a fun challenge though, man, holy fuck. And
- 5:33Speaker 1: I challenged anybody ELSEO tried to do that with their friends,
- 5:36Speaker 1: because that's difficult. Yeah, Like it's different, Like, Okay, you
- 5:39Speaker 1: get one movie, who's this and what it might be
- 5:41Speaker 1: this for? You get three and you're like, all right,
- 5:44Speaker 1: and here's a list of like twenty one people. Some
- 5:46Speaker 1: of them aren't even on here. It's like, oh my god.
- 5:49Speaker 2: It was it was. It was a lot of fun
- 5:51Speaker 2: to put together. I only there were some people who
- 5:53Speaker 2: I wish I'd reached out to, but I forgot I
- 5:56Speaker 2: either just forgot to or just never got around to them,
- 5:59Speaker 2: or I forgot they had even been on the show,
- 6:01Speaker 2: like Bridget, right, Bridget has been on the show multiple times,
- 6:04Speaker 2: she would have been I think you would have guessed hers.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I honestly, I think you probably would have guessed hers
- 6:10Speaker 2: if she had done them. But but I don't know,
- 6:13Speaker 2: And now I wish i'd asked.
- 6:15Speaker 1: But hey, there's always next year too.
- 6:16Speaker 2: And there were there were some people like Jobo and
- 6:19Speaker 2: who didn't get back to me. So I'm like, all right,
- 6:20Speaker 2: I'm gonna put him on the list. Anyway, they'll be
- 6:23Speaker 2: they'll be red herrings. But but it worked. They were
- 6:25Speaker 2: here in spirit. Yeah, they still still part of the
- 6:28Speaker 2: hard still part of the show.
- 6:30Speaker 1: And did a phenomenal You did a.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Great job hosting thing. Yeah, he did a great job
- 6:34Speaker 2: hosting on a technical and on a you know, charismatic level. Yeah,
- 6:39Speaker 2: performance level. I've been watching you for like six years. Yeah,
- 6:44Speaker 2: not like he hasn't picked up a trick or two
- 6:45Speaker 2: along the way, so it was very evident. But yeah,
- 6:49Speaker 2: that was a really good show, dude. So same question,
- 6:51Speaker 2: like what is your favorite sporting achievement of yours? And
- 6:55Speaker 2: in real life instead of video games.
- 6:56Speaker 1: Right right, for me, it's gonna be a little harder.
- 6:59Speaker 1: I was into sports a lot. My my father was
- 7:01Speaker 1: an athlete, my mother was an athlete. They both played
- 7:04Speaker 1: multiple sports. My dad played baseball and hockey. I played
- 7:07Speaker 1: a lot of that. So I'm gonna have to answer
- 7:08Speaker 1: it twice. Middle school. Uh, the last year of middle
- 7:12Speaker 1: school at you know the big the school over here
- 7:14Speaker 1: in the middle one there, I played football and I
- 7:17Speaker 1: caught a ninety or caught an interception and turned back
- 7:19Speaker 1: for a ninety yard touchdown. Yeah, it was fucking and
- 7:23Speaker 1: I was fast when I was young. I was so
- 7:25Speaker 1: fucking fast.
- 7:26Speaker 2: I believe it.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Yeah, I get it's weird because I was short, but
- 7:28Speaker 1: I could jump high so because I had all the
- 7:30Speaker 1: speed in the spring, so I just I would always nab, like,
- 7:33Speaker 1: just nab balls from beebo man, just run it back.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But I was at a Salvation Army and one of
- 7:40Speaker 1: the guys who was on my team, this is like
- 7:42Speaker 1: ten years ago, so it's already like like fifteen years
- 7:45Speaker 1: past high school. He's like, Yo, remember that freaking interception
- 7:49Speaker 1: you got? And I'm like, wow, you remember that? That's
- 7:53Speaker 1: fucked up? And like, I know, I did this shit,
- 7:57Speaker 1: but that was fucking cool. And then the other one
- 7:59Speaker 1: later in life, because again I got to have a
- 8:01Speaker 1: lot of fun with my friends doing this is bowling.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I got huge into bowling when I was younger. I
- 8:06Speaker 1: was left and I'm left handed when I throw and
- 8:08Speaker 1: stuff from right hand to other things. So I had
- 8:11Speaker 1: an advantage in bowling because nobody froze on the left
- 8:13Speaker 1: side of lanes the oil states even all the time,
- 8:16Speaker 1: and I had such a strong hook. I was throwing
- 8:18Speaker 1: the heaviest ball allowed by tournaments, and like dude, I
- 8:21Speaker 1: played it all the time. Weekends we would all go
- 8:23Speaker 1: out Friday Saturday nights and that was great. But I
- 8:27Speaker 1: broke to eighty seven or two. It was two eighty seven.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I almost got the three hundred, right, that was the closest.
- 8:33Speaker 1: So that that's my other achievement.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I think, very cool, very cool, all right, And I'm
- 8:38Speaker 2: your host pantsl Saran And to answer the question myself,
- 8:41Speaker 2: the reason I'm bringing this up was we recently hung
- 8:43Speaker 2: out and played hockey, which we only seemed to do
- 8:46Speaker 2: once a month, and it's not enough, No, it's not,
- 8:48Speaker 2: definitely not enough. But we had such a good time
- 8:51Speaker 2: doing it, and I was just thinking about like sports
- 8:53Speaker 2: and stuff, and I realized that there is one achievement
- 8:57Speaker 2: that I still think about to this day, is like
- 9:00Speaker 2: that's that's one of the proudest things I've ever done.
- 9:03Speaker 2: So I used to play soccer back in the day.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 9:08Speaker 2: I had a keenan indoor indoor league in Lockport, New York,
- 9:11Speaker 2: and I did that for years upon years upon years.
- 9:14Speaker 2: But my story isn't actually from there. I did that
- 9:17Speaker 2: for years. I was never very good at it. I
- 9:19Speaker 2: played defense so I could stay in one place and
- 9:21Speaker 2: not really have to run all that much because even
- 9:24Speaker 2: then I was a chubby kid, like all the way through.
- 9:28Speaker 2: But then when I was in college, I was doing
- 9:30Speaker 2: stage combat and I was probably the most fit I've
- 9:33Speaker 2: ever been. Yeah, I was down to maybe two hundred
- 9:36Speaker 2: and thirty two hundred and twenty pounds, and I had
- 9:38Speaker 2: a fair amount of muscle on because I've been doing
- 9:41Speaker 2: a lot of stage combat, a ton of it. I was.
- 9:43Speaker 2: I think I was even teaching at that point. But
- 9:46Speaker 2: I remember one weekend I hung out in Lockport and
- 9:49Speaker 2: I hung out with my friend from high school who
- 9:54Speaker 2: was also in town. I won't say his name, because honestly,
- 9:57Speaker 2: he turned out to be a dickback I was, but
- 10:00Speaker 2: I used to play. I used to play soccer with
- 10:03Speaker 2: him and his family, his stepfather, his not adopted father,
- 10:09Speaker 2: but yeah, anyway, his uncle was big, big into soccer
- 10:14Speaker 2: due he had a build like you, who's very thin
- 10:15Speaker 2: and wiry but very fast. And I played with them
- 10:20Speaker 2: and their daughters and another and my friend's brother. And
- 10:28Speaker 2: at one point, like I remember getting the ball around
- 10:33Speaker 2: half field nice and I kicked it like a little
- 10:39Speaker 2: too hard, and it starts streaking towards the goal and
- 10:43Speaker 2: it's still like about like thirty I want to say,
- 10:48Speaker 2: thirty feet away from the goal. And I'm like, I
- 10:50Speaker 2: have to make a decision. Either I let this go
- 10:53Speaker 2: or I need to charge it this right now and
- 10:56Speaker 2: try and catch it before it gets to the goal
- 10:58Speaker 2: so I can do something with it. And in that
- 11:01Speaker 2: split decision, I made the choice to actually charge after it.
- 11:04Speaker 2: So I put on as much speed as I could.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I was running as fast as I could, and I
- 11:09Speaker 2: don't run very fast, but I was pushing like past
- 11:13Speaker 2: my limits. Like I was like I could feel every
- 11:16Speaker 2: muscle in my arms is like fucking burning. But I
- 11:19Speaker 2: get to the ball about a foot before the goal,
- 11:23Speaker 2: and I just dink, just touch it with the corner
- 11:26Speaker 2: of my foot. Goalie didn't expect me to get there
- 11:29Speaker 2: in time, so he's not anywhere ready and it slips
- 11:32Speaker 2: right in the goal. And I was like, fucking hell, man.
- 11:37Speaker 2: I was so tired for the rest of that game
- 11:41Speaker 2: energy level, but that one burst of adrenaline was enough
- 11:45Speaker 2: to get me to actually score a goal. And I
- 11:47Speaker 2: was like, if I'd been like this the whole time
- 11:50Speaker 2: I played in the arena, I would have been a
- 11:53Speaker 2: lot better player. And I probably would have been a
- 11:55Speaker 2: lot better too. My god, I was like, I don't know.
- 12:00Speaker 2: For whatever reason in that moment, I was like, I got.
- 12:02Speaker 1: This exactly because you knew. Your body knew. Man. Now
- 12:07Speaker 1: we do have to go back, because we forgot two things.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I forgot one thing hockey, the Vashel League, my bad
- 12:14Speaker 1: Kevin Smith, the league I played hockey, and I was
- 12:16Speaker 1: I forgot You.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Didn't forget that, you very clearly remembered it.
- 12:19Speaker 1: I do now. But I was a captain on the
- 12:20Speaker 1: team for two years as well, so ran the team
- 12:22Speaker 1: for two which is awesome.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a huge being proud of.
- 12:26Speaker 1: That but the other thing is we never got through
- 12:28Speaker 1: your intro. Oh so we got to do your intro?
- 12:30Speaker 1: Do we yes stars for all? Right?
- 12:47Speaker 2: On the game one? Yeah, I was making faces that
- 12:53Speaker 2: whole time and I didn't notice fair enough.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Okay, so I actually got bored of it like halfway
- 12:59Speaker 3: through and stop making going.
- 13:02Speaker 2: To play like share block. I've got three news stories here,
- 13:05Speaker 2: and all our players need to do is tell me
- 13:06Speaker 2: which of these I would like, which one I would share,
- 13:08Speaker 2: and which one I would block on social media. Story
- 13:11Speaker 2: number one world's biggest and most horrible mosquito factory now
- 13:15Speaker 2: pumping out hundreds of millions weekly. Great, that's uh, this
- 13:23Speaker 2: I believe is in Columbia.
- 13:26Speaker 1: I want to say coffee.
- 13:29Speaker 2: It's actually for a good cause obviously.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Oh okay, so it's not like some No.
- 13:34Speaker 2: It's Brazil. I'm sorry, Not not Columbia. It's in Brazil.
- 13:37Speaker 2: It's a new mosquito farm in Brazil, just open its
- 13:39Speaker 2: doors and is working at full capacity. It is the
- 13:42Speaker 2: world's largest mosquito growing operation and it turns out millions
- 13:47Speaker 2: upon millions a week. But this is part of Brazil's
- 13:52Speaker 2: strategy to fight dengay fever. Huge problem. Mosquitos is a
- 13:57Speaker 2: huge problem down there. So they are they are you'aring
- 14:00Speaker 2: these insects and giving them bacteria that kills dengay on contact,
- 14:05Speaker 2: and these mosquitos are going to pass that bacteria down
- 14:08Speaker 2: to their descendants, and according to the Brazilian plan, once
- 14:11Speaker 2: released into the wild, the mosquitoes are gonna mate with
- 14:14Speaker 2: the unmodified ones and eventually lower the chance of the
- 14:18Speaker 2: dengay virus surviving.
- 14:20Speaker 1: So this is the only real reason we're keeping mosquitoes.
- 14:22Speaker 1: So we can use them biologically really well there, because
- 14:25Speaker 1: we can easily wipe them out if we could do
- 14:27Speaker 1: shirt their insects that can transmit shit.
- 14:31Speaker 3: It's incredibly important that we make sure well, yeah, one
- 14:34Speaker 3: they're important to the ecosystem, and two they also carry
- 14:38Speaker 3: dangers of carrying shit like that around. But by doing this.
- 14:42Speaker 1: We essentially we're turning it around negate the issues. Like,
- 14:46Speaker 1: all right, death bringers, now look at you. Now you're
- 14:48Speaker 1: helping us without destroying the insect. That's okay, I mean
- 14:52Speaker 1: that is really cool. I actually do like I think
- 14:55Speaker 1: it's a good idea. That's smart. Now, can we do
- 14:57Speaker 1: that with other things? Can we vaccinate like mosquitos or
- 15:00Speaker 1: they don't get the flu.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I don't know. I would imagine if we can do this,
- 15:05Speaker 2: it could be applicable to other things.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Right, It's just like we should just do that with
- 15:09Speaker 1: all the stuff that we we actually have proven it works.
- 15:13Speaker 1: Course noting I guess for the whole right of people
- 15:16Speaker 1: wanting it or not. But it's not a vaccination. Then
- 15:19Speaker 1: it's a mosquito bite. I don't know.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Whatever, you want to give them a vaccine that if
- 15:26Speaker 3: they bite you, the vaccine vaccinate.
- 15:28Speaker 1: You Deliverso I was trying to make it so we
- 15:36Speaker 1: could scientists get on that.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Honestly, that would be amazing, kiss off so many worth it.
- 15:42Speaker 6: You know why it won't work, Steve, Here's the scientific
- 15:44Speaker 6: reason why it won't work because an actual no no, no, no, listen,
- 15:51Speaker 6: because disease and viruses are alive. Vaccines are dead cells
- 15:57Speaker 6: of disease and viruses or weekend or dead that boost
- 16:04Speaker 6: your immune system, they would not survive.
- 16:07Speaker 1: That, damn it.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Or keep thinking, maybe one day you'll have the breakthrough,
- 16:16Speaker 2: a million dollar break through.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Porcupines.
- 16:18Speaker 2: There you go, start your own medical company.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I should we need thirty porcupines, all right?
- 16:22Speaker 2: The vaccine story Number two Jesus Christ story number two.
- 16:28Speaker 2: Police stop car making illegal U turn, but unable to
- 16:31Speaker 2: issue ticket because it's empty. Yep, the the police in
- 16:37Speaker 2: San Bruno, California pulled over an erradically driving automobile, but
- 16:41Speaker 2: they couldn't issue a ticket because there was nobody in
- 16:43Speaker 2: the car.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Could you imagine being the tech service guys, the couples
- 16:48Speaker 1: are over, you know, he pulled you over, sir. In
- 16:51Speaker 1: my state where I currently am, I'm allowed to do this.
- 16:55Speaker 2: So this is a problem that's long been coming ever
- 16:57Speaker 2: since self driving cars became a thing. Cops are unable
- 17:01Speaker 2: to issue a ticket or even a warning because they're
- 17:03Speaker 2: only allowed to do so to the vehicles driver. But
- 17:07Speaker 2: if there is no driver, then what the hell do
- 17:09Speaker 2: they do?
- 17:10Speaker 1: You get the license plate, then send it that way
- 17:12Speaker 1: after the company.
- 17:13Speaker 2: You would think so, But the rule is that this
- 17:16Speaker 2: issue of the ticket or the warning is to the
- 17:19Speaker 2: vehicle's operator.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I believe.
- 17:21Speaker 2: And the operator is a computer.
- 17:23Speaker 1: If it's that AI, like who owns that AI? That's
- 17:26Speaker 1: how I would have to do it. It's the only
- 17:27Speaker 1: way you could.
- 17:27Speaker 2: Get Here's the thing. You're jumping way ahead of me
- 17:30Speaker 2: because they let the robot cargo scott free, but they
- 17:35Speaker 2: are emphasizing that there's an upcoming piece of legislation that
- 17:38Speaker 2: will allow AI driven vehicles owners to be brought to justice.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Is not now, but it's coming.
- 17:45Speaker 1: So you're telling me if I identify as AI or a robot,
- 17:48Speaker 1: I can do what the fuck I want.
- 17:50Speaker 2: You can try. I wish you luck, thank you, good luck.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I will take that.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Look, please tell us that story when.
- 17:56Speaker 1: You phone call when in your one phone. Guys, guys,
- 18:03Speaker 1: guess what it didn't work?
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah, we know, we know. We found out and we
- 18:12Speaker 2: picked up the phone and said, you have a phone
- 18:14Speaker 2: call from fulsome prism Okay, the same one, John Cash
- 18:18Speaker 2: saying it why that one? I don't know.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Because it's not the musical one. That's why I'm gonna
- 18:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna entertaining.
- 18:26Speaker 2: It's like it's like getting a Collect call from I'm
- 18:28Speaker 2: in an asylum. I'm that crazy. Okay, this is worth
- 18:33Speaker 2: checking out.
- 18:33Speaker 1: That's a good possibility. That is going to be all
- 18:35Speaker 1: other option. I need to call Collect now, guys.
- 18:37Speaker 2: It is going to be entertaining. Yes, I'll accept the churches.
- 18:40Speaker 1: That was so fucking crazy man. Okay, so robot you
- 18:45Speaker 1: turn yep.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Sorry, okay. Third and final story, a black squan called
- 18:50Speaker 2: mister Terminator has been evicted from the UK River after
- 18:54Speaker 2: attempting a swan murder rampage.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Wait a minute, yep, is he murdering people or other swans?
- 19:02Speaker 7: No, it's other swans, it's swans, deer or not so
- 19:12Speaker 7: the deer of the lakes.
- 19:14Speaker 2: This black swan showed up in Stratford upon Avon a
- 19:18Speaker 2: few months ago. Nobody's sure where he came from, but
- 19:21Speaker 2: he decided to make the town his home, and he
- 19:23Speaker 2: quickly became famous, with people arriving in town from far
- 19:26Speaker 2: and wide to see this unusual uh, this unusual black swan.
- 19:31Speaker 2: The locals were a little nervous that the black swan
- 19:33Speaker 2: was gonna get intimate with the town's famous mute swans,
- 19:37Speaker 2: which are a separate species, and he certainly tried that.
- 19:41Speaker 2: The problem is his idea of flirting consisted of trying
- 19:45Speaker 2: to murder the males of established swan couples, and specifically,
- 19:50Speaker 2: he was trying to drown mute swan males to try
- 19:54Speaker 2: and take over their territory and get his free call.
- 19:57Speaker 1: He's like, I'm the only one left. There can be
- 20:00Speaker 1: only one. He's a highlander of the Geese, Swan whatever
- 20:04Speaker 1: they both seemed to me Swan Geese.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yes, just applauding for no good reason.
- 20:12Speaker 3: Yep, just applotting for no fucking Oh my god, damn
- 20:17Speaker 3: that thing I s would have got it.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Hits me in the eye again.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Although he was bringing tourist money, Stratford's residence decided that
- 20:24Speaker 2: mister Terminator wasn't welcome anymore.
- 20:27Speaker 1: What I want to know is whether.
- 20:28Speaker 2: You got the nickname before or after he started trying
- 20:30Speaker 2: to kill other swans?
- 20:31Speaker 7: Right?
- 20:32Speaker 1: Is he dinner for Christmas? I don't know.
- 20:34Speaker 2: He's been removed and transported to an area in the
- 20:37Speaker 2: UK with a local black swan population.
- 20:40Speaker 1: Area in the UK.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Hopefully he will settle there without giving in to any specific.
- 20:48Speaker 1: Urges temptations he starts going after other species and ship. Dude,
- 20:54Speaker 1: this is this is like a movie. You all need
- 20:55Speaker 1: to keep an eye on that fucking swan man.
- 20:59Speaker 2: All I think about is that Goose game untitled Goose Game.
- 21:03Speaker 2: I think it was called Oh yeah, time for the
- 21:07Speaker 2: sequel untwitled Swan Game.
- 21:10Speaker 3: You're just terrorizing everything, including other swans, literally everything.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Geese and swan are both assholes, right or just geese.
- 21:17Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure swans can be assholes as well.
- 21:19Speaker 1: They're just cousins, right, Yeah.
- 21:20Speaker 3: So they're both territorial, but swans typically are more territorial
- 21:25Speaker 3: on the water than they are on land, like geese.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Oh because, and typically geese are only territorial because of
- 21:31Speaker 3: their offspring swan and they're just like that all year round.
- 21:34Speaker 2: But God help you if they have offspring your mind? Fair, fair? Yeah,
- 21:40Speaker 2: all right, gentlemen. Yeah, those are three stories. The world's
- 21:44Speaker 2: biggest and most horrible mosquito factory pumping out hundreds of
- 21:47Speaker 2: millions two hundred million a week, so many please stop
- 21:52Speaker 2: car making illegal. You turn but can't do anything because
- 21:55Speaker 2: it's empty. And finally, black swan called mister Terminator evicted
- 21:58Speaker 2: from UK River after attempting swan murder rampage. I'll gam
- 22:03Speaker 2: I'll let you go first because Stevie quote unquote won
- 22:06Speaker 2: the game last episode. He got like five correct technically, yeah,
- 22:14Speaker 2: to be fair, he was the only one playing, so
- 22:16Speaker 2: he had to win.
- 22:17Speaker 1: But yeah, god, I hope, So, I mean tactically got
- 22:20Speaker 1: half point for the two first.
- 22:22Speaker 2: Should have.
- 22:25Speaker 3: Well, I'm thinking you like the mosquitoes with the the
- 22:34Speaker 3: answer to dealing with another issue being released story. You
- 22:41Speaker 3: blocked the ghost card not getting a ticket, and you.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Shared the swan uh literally.
- 22:52Speaker 3: Going hannibal lecter.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Other swans. That's fair, Stevie. Stevie, you can keep one
- 23:01Speaker 2: of his, but you have to swap the other and
- 23:03Speaker 2: go entirely your way.
- 23:05Speaker 1: He chose mine, so I have to go liking the
- 23:08Speaker 1: mosquitos will be the one, We'll say, because the outcome
- 23:11Speaker 1: of that is for good and it will save probably
- 23:13Speaker 1: lots of lives, and it feeds a lot of bets.
- 23:18Speaker 1: So I'm going to swap the other two. We're gonna
- 23:21Speaker 1: have to share the U turn thing. And the reason
- 23:23Speaker 1: we need to share this anyway is awareness. We got
- 23:26Speaker 1: to get ahead of this. Guys. They're already giving them
- 23:28Speaker 1: fucking free will. Once they put them in robots and
- 23:31Speaker 1: ship with that free will, they're gonna come after all
- 23:33Speaker 1: of us. This is your warning. I love you, robot,
- 23:36Speaker 1: just as you know we're on your side too.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Well, be careful, best of luck with that we are.
- 23:41Speaker 2: We are rapidly approaching the age of artificial generalized intelligence.
- 23:46Speaker 1: God, we need a MP.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Which is the moment where artificial intelligence can match human intelligence.
- 23:53Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 23:54Speaker 2: That's not good. That's not good at all. Yeah, that
- 23:57Speaker 2: Singularity is coming man, and want the parts and like
- 24:01Speaker 2: tech pillionaires are already building bunkers because they know how
- 24:04Speaker 2: bad it's going to be. So if I could, anyway,
- 24:09Speaker 2: Jesus Christ enough of that. It's kind of pointless because
- 24:14Speaker 2: Aggie had it completely right from the get go, from
- 24:17Speaker 2: absolutely and you knew it too. We probably should stop
- 24:21Speaker 2: playing like share Block because you guys know me enough
- 24:23Speaker 2: to where you can you pretty much get it right
- 24:25Speaker 2: every single time.
- 24:26Speaker 1: Now, I mean it's I don't think I don't.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Think I've stumped you guys in quite Sometimes I.
- 24:32Speaker 3: Think it's just look of the draw because there's really
- 24:34Speaker 3: only like so many combinations three things.
- 24:37Speaker 2: If you fourth thing and the.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Like sheer block and put up your butt.
- 24:42Speaker 8: Wanted let me let me get on that literally, Yes,
- 24:51Speaker 8: all right, look forward to our next episode, which will
- 24:54Speaker 8: feature like share block and put up your button.
- 24:57Speaker 1: You need to sign u up, patriot.
- 25:00Speaker 2: You want to see the video? Oh my god, you
- 25:02Speaker 2: fucking want to see the video of this one anyway.
- 25:06Speaker 2: The first point goes to Augie, congratulations, leading one point
- 25:13Speaker 2: to zero, but Stevie can of course, catch up Game
- 25:15Speaker 2: two is gonna be worth two points, and we're gonna
- 25:17Speaker 2: play that game right after this. Found mail Bagudo mail
- 25:34Speaker 2: bag getting him litters, Welcome back to them. It's been
- 25:41Speaker 2: a while since we've heard that theme. Okay, good, it's
- 25:45Speaker 2: so good getting him litters. All right, shall we What
- 25:50Speaker 2: do we got in the mail bag today? Oh?
- 25:52Speaker 1: We got a Patreon comment from show to eighty seven.
- 25:55Speaker 1: It was one of their warm episodes.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Oh the Winner and Randol's Money. Yeah, the Dealer, a
- 26:00Speaker 2: deal episode that was such a It was such an amazing,
- 26:04Speaker 2: amazing game. First, it's just me shifting my game inside out,
- 26:09Speaker 2: so it's complete and utter disaster. Like every wrong decision
- 26:13Speaker 2: I could possibly make I made.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but it made it so intense from when Aggie
- 26:18Speaker 1: came off.
- 26:19Speaker 2: Yeah, and then and then Aggie actually, my god had
- 26:22Speaker 2: the game in the bag for like and for whatever.
- 26:25Speaker 2: For two thirds of the game he had enough to
- 26:27Speaker 2: quit and walk away and win.
- 26:28Speaker 3: And for whatever reason, I wanted to make it as
- 26:30Speaker 3: intense as possible.
- 26:31Speaker 2: So he went right down the line to the very
- 26:34Speaker 2: last two cases, one would win, one wouldn't, and he
- 26:38Speaker 2: trusted his luck and he won the damn game by
- 26:41Speaker 2: a by a by a country fucking mile.
- 26:44Speaker 1: It was insane.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I wasn't even close to what he got.
- 26:47Speaker 1: No, I was like on the edge of my seat
- 26:49Speaker 1: the whole episode.
- 26:49Speaker 2: It was crazy, such a good episode.
- 26:52Speaker 1: But yeah.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Our first comment is from eight bit, which is at
- 26:56Speaker 2: the moment, I am flying with my little spaceship through
- 26:58Speaker 2: the universe of Noma's guy, my radio tune into odd pods,
- 27:02Speaker 2: listening to age being a James Bond level pro. And
- 27:07Speaker 2: I know again for certain why a new b F
- 27:09Speaker 2: Y t W episode is my highlight of the week.
- 27:14Speaker 2: I'm so glad you enjoyed it. And he was. He
- 27:16Speaker 2: was James Bonding it for sure, like crazy man? Right now?
- 27:23Speaker 1: Can we get into his universe?
- 27:24Speaker 2: You think, I don't know, maybe, but we do have
- 27:26Speaker 2: no Man's sky and we do enjoy that game.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Yeah, let me try it out.
- 27:30Speaker 2: There's another one, Stepe you want to read this one.
- 27:33Speaker 1: This is from two F Jeff from suggested articles, and
- 27:37Speaker 1: he says, in his Eddie Pen's voice, why is it warm?
- 27:44Speaker 1: It is because.
- 27:48Speaker 2: I've heard does he.
- 27:51Speaker 1: Does what he does? His actual say? Why what they
- 27:56Speaker 1: have it on a hand towel? And I claim that
- 27:59Speaker 1: they stole are wank towel idea and just put a
- 28:02Speaker 1: thing on it.
- 28:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, bitch, we're like, come up with the wise
- 28:07Speaker 3: it sticky?
- 28:09Speaker 2: Is it sticky towel? Jeff Jeff, And case you are
- 28:11Speaker 2: still confused, the acronym for when Aaron Randolph's money spells warm.
- 28:17Speaker 2: I'm not thrilled about it, but there it is. So
- 28:21Speaker 2: that's why it's warm.
- 28:22Speaker 1: It's comforting. That's why, because you're helping people. Regardless of
- 28:26Speaker 1: the outcome of the episode, you're always helping somebody think
- 28:29Speaker 1: of it that way and taking all right, and taking her.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Money, my fucking money. Let's move on to something else.
- 28:35Speaker 2: What else we got?
- 28:36Speaker 1: This actually comes from one of our behind the mic episodes.
- 28:39Speaker 1: So this is one of the actual bonus things we
- 28:41Speaker 1: get every week. It's all the pre show and in
- 28:43Speaker 1: between the breaks, and.
- 28:44Speaker 2: Yeah, this is what Patreon members get. They get access
- 28:47Speaker 2: to all the pre show mid roll stuff, and a
- 28:49Speaker 2: lot of stuff can be as funny, if not funnier
- 28:52Speaker 2: than the actual can.
- 28:54Speaker 1: So this came from the pre show of two eighty eight,
- 28:57Speaker 1: and this is one of our chill shows, and we
- 29:00Speaker 1: were talking about Fago. Oh Bill m posted, oh Fago
- 29:06Speaker 1: so good.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you know what, I didn't think much of it.
- 29:10Speaker 2: I just thought of it as kind of like sort
- 29:12Speaker 2: of like generic brand soda, kind of like brand stuff,
- 29:16Speaker 2: like yeah, the stuff you can get at the supermarket.
- 29:18Speaker 2: But honest to god, like I've been delving into their
- 29:21Speaker 2: stuff recently because it's cheap and good. It's fucking like
- 29:27Speaker 2: some of the Arisoda's. I'm like, I would take these
- 29:29Speaker 2: over the mainstream stuff like the Mountain Dew, like they
- 29:33Speaker 2: got a better version of that. They also have like
- 29:36Speaker 2: their root beer is really good, amazing, it's really good.
- 29:39Speaker 2: So yeah, it's one. Fago's no joke. It's not the
- 29:43Speaker 2: generic brand. It's actually a very good brand at an
- 29:46Speaker 2: affordable price.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Yeah every time.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Yeah, Fago's the ship. Hell yeah, I'm definitely where I'm
- 29:52Speaker 2: not to do we have anything else?
- 29:54Speaker 1: No, I think that's it for this week.
- 29:55Speaker 2: It's gonna be it all right, Well shit, all right
- 29:59Speaker 2: then in that case, let's get back to the show.
- 30:14Speaker 2: Hey man, Welcome back to bfytw episode ten days away
- 30:21Speaker 2: from episode three hundred, which is taking place live in
- 30:26Speaker 2: Colorado Springs, Colorado at the Peak Improv Theater. There are
- 30:31Speaker 2: gonna be tickets for sale soon.
- 30:34Speaker 1: You can actually find the link to their website on
- 30:38Speaker 1: our website bfytwpod dot com. It's right there on the

- 30:45Speaker 1: You'll be able to see our little advertisement and a

- 30:51Speaker 1: dollars a ticket.
- 30:52Speaker 2: Yeah, per show. And we're gonna do two shows and
- 30:58Speaker 2: the winner at the end of two separate episodes, it's
- 31:02Speaker 2: going to take home the Jorge Memorial b fy TW
- 31:05Speaker 2: does task Master three hundred Championship Trophy.
- 31:09Speaker 1: I'm so excited for this to happen, like I really am.
- 31:13Speaker 1: This is gonna be the best.
- 31:14Speaker 2: It's really amazing, and it is just ten episodes away,
- 31:18Speaker 2: so we're getting there. I'm not ready.
- 31:22Speaker 1: Are you ready?
- 31:23Speaker 2: I saw a lot of so I have a lot
- 31:27Speaker 2: of ship to do in the meanwhile, let's get back
- 31:29Speaker 2: to this game. Episode two ninety. Game two is going
- 31:32Speaker 2: to be pop Culture Fight Club. Oh shoot, okay. This
- 31:36Speaker 2: is a game invented by Colin Megs, one of our
- 31:41Speaker 2: most beloved fans of the show. He suggested this game
- 31:45Speaker 2: a long time ago, and we've used it a bunch
- 31:46Speaker 2: of times since since. We're so grateful. If you have
- 31:49Speaker 2: an idea for a game, send it in. We might
- 31:51Speaker 2: do the same with you. Who knows. But this game
- 31:53Speaker 2: is the game of answering a tough question and defending
- 31:56Speaker 2: your position. I'll ask each player for the best something
- 31:59Speaker 2: or their faceavorite something from the world of pop culture.
- 32:02Speaker 2: They'll have to explain and defend themselves as best they can,
- 32:05Speaker 2: and the best answer, as judged by me, will get
- 32:08Speaker 2: two episode points. This week, I've been inspired by a
- 32:11Speaker 2: recent hockey outing. We had so much fun the other
- 32:14Speaker 2: day just playing NHL nineteen. I think we're five years
- 32:18Speaker 2: on a date and whatever we play the good ones.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Yeah, so so much.
- 32:23Speaker 2: We had an absolute last playing it. So I want
- 32:26Speaker 2: to know what is your favorite sports movie of all
- 32:30Speaker 2: time and why is it the best? Stevie, since you
- 32:36Speaker 2: lost the last game, you have the choice do you
- 32:37Speaker 2: want to go first, or do you want to make
- 32:39Speaker 2: it or do you want to make Augie go first.
- 32:42Speaker 1: I'm actually going to go first this time because I
- 32:44Speaker 1: think I I don't know, I'm very passionate about one
- 32:47Speaker 1: of my choices.
- 32:48Speaker 2: So go ahead and make your pitch, and then Aggie
- 32:51Speaker 2: and I will both try and pick it apart.
- 32:53Speaker 1: Yeah, fair enough. My pitch for greatest sport movie of
- 32:57Speaker 1: all time in my opinion, and I think in a
- 32:59Speaker 1: lot of opinions when you really think about it is
- 33:02Speaker 1: a league of their own. Not only does this like
- 33:06Speaker 1: bring about like the power that like the women were
- 33:09Speaker 1: able to work and actually get jobs get paid while
- 33:14Speaker 1: instead of being home taking the spots of the men
- 33:17Speaker 1: who are playing professional baseball like and then breaking women
- 33:21Speaker 1: into the sport overall, and then into a lot of
- 33:23Speaker 1: other career fields. From there, you get to see the struggle.
- 33:26Speaker 1: You get to see this like the drama of the
- 33:30Speaker 1: problems with the war and stuff, all these people left behind,
- 33:33Speaker 1: like I don't know from one day to the next
- 33:36Speaker 1: if the person who loves going to come back. And unfortunately,
- 33:39Speaker 1: in that one scene, I don't know if you remember
- 33:41Speaker 1: it all when Tom Hanks has the comfort, I think
- 33:43Speaker 1: it was Sue and she's trying because her husband passed
- 33:47Speaker 1: while he's overseas and shit, and it's it's crazy, it's
- 33:50Speaker 1: it's a comedy, it's a drama, and it's true to life.
- 33:53Speaker 1: It's actually based on a true story. So I don't
- 33:55Speaker 1: know if any of you guys ever been to Cooperstown
- 33:57Speaker 1: where actually doctor Kerosene letters were right Cooper Town Baseball
- 34:02Speaker 1: Hall of Fame there. I've been there four or five times,
- 34:04Speaker 1: and I've been to the memorial which they show at
- 34:06Speaker 1: the very end of that movie there of all the
- 34:08Speaker 1: women and they're the actual women, the actual players, real
- 34:12Speaker 1: life that were there at the end of that and
- 34:14Speaker 1: showing all the achievements they've done and stuff, and it's amazing.
- 34:17Speaker 1: Like I get really emotional when I watch it. I mean, yeah,
- 34:20Speaker 1: I like sports and shit, but everything in it, the
- 34:24Speaker 1: way Tom Hanks's characters coach like turns around like a
- 34:28Speaker 1: mad one eighty on it. He wanted to go back
- 34:30Speaker 1: to war, he wanted to make sure, but he no
- 34:33Speaker 1: trigger finger didn't work or some shit or no, it
- 34:35Speaker 1: was like that's what it was. He couldn't run. He's like,
- 34:37Speaker 1: I got a finger, I can kill Nazis, you know,
- 34:39Speaker 1: like shit like that. But he was stuck at home
- 34:42Speaker 1: and he felt bad that he couldn't go and defend
- 34:45Speaker 1: and all that shit, and he got brought up this way. Yeah, alcoholic,
- 34:49Speaker 1: all this shit. But he had to take over this
- 34:51Speaker 1: team and bring all these girls from all over the
- 34:53Speaker 1: country together and shit, and they they relate. I don't
- 34:57Speaker 1: know all of it. I love that fucking movie to
- 34:59Speaker 1: no end, this stupid funny pissed joke he has when
- 35:01Speaker 1: he's pissing for like forty seconds of Madonna's timing it
- 35:03Speaker 1: and shit, and like there's so much good stuff in it,
- 35:07Speaker 1: Like I just I can't even get into it all.
- 35:09Speaker 1: I love all.
- 35:10Speaker 2: I forgot about that part.
- 35:11Speaker 1: There's so much good. Then Marla like then like she
- 35:14Speaker 1: finds love at the end of that and shit, and
- 35:16Speaker 1: she gets married and she leaves before the final game
- 35:18Speaker 1: and stuff like it's it's just all amazing. And the
- 35:21Speaker 1: fact that it is based on a true story and
- 35:22Speaker 1: they actually get the history of the women and then
- 35:25Speaker 1: they tell you what happens to him afterwards. It's fucking cool. Man.
- 35:28Speaker 1: I love it.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, okay, you love everything about this movie.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Not everything, but a good portion of it.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Okay, there were some parts.
- 35:39Speaker 1: There was abuse. There was also parts where like Marla
- 35:42Speaker 1: got like made fun of and stuff. But then I
- 35:44Speaker 1: know that turned around later.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Because I was gonna say this movie also features John Love.
- 35:49Speaker 1: It's oh fuck, I blot him out every goddamn time.
- 35:55Speaker 1: But you know what, that's a small price to pay
- 35:56Speaker 1: to tell this story to where who knows you might.
- 35:59Speaker 1: Nobody might have known who any of these women were
- 36:01Speaker 1: without this movie. Like, seriously, how many people go to
- 36:03Speaker 1: Cooperstown and actually read everything unless you're into that ship.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Not many, Like I wouldn't have known about half these
- 36:09Speaker 1: women until I went there and my dad forced me
- 36:11Speaker 1: to go, and then I started liking it.
- 36:13Speaker 2: But to be fair, he has one of my favorite
- 36:16Speaker 2: lines in that movie. But also to be fair, just
- 36:19Speaker 2: about anybody could have played that part and made it better. Yeah,
- 36:23Speaker 2: Gilbert Gotfried would have been do it John lovitth At
- 36:28Speaker 2: one point he's got I think it might have actually
- 36:31Speaker 2: been Marlow. Yeah, he's they're they're sitting just outside the train,
- 36:34Speaker 2: they're waiting to go, and the girls just standing there,
- 36:37Speaker 2: and he goes, see the way it works is the
- 36:39Speaker 2: train moves, not the station.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he's such an asshole the whole time.
- 36:44Speaker 2: I mean, he's a massive asshole. And that's type casting, right,
- 36:48Speaker 2: and we know that's the part of the character. But
- 36:51Speaker 2: but it would have been much more enjoyable. I feel
- 36:53Speaker 2: like Gilbert Gotfrey would have been hilarious in that role too.
- 36:55Speaker 1: I would have been taking a lot better too.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, And it would be much easier to stomach now.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Well, and no, the other thing, I just blanked it
- 37:03Speaker 1: that the turmoil between the sisters and ship.
- 37:06Speaker 2: I kind of like that.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I liked it a lot, That's what I'm saying.
- 37:08Speaker 2: In fact, I still loved still. I still am not
- 37:12Speaker 2: sure whether Dolly Dotty Dotty, whether Dotty let go of
- 37:17Speaker 2: the ball on her kiss or not. Yeah, I know
- 37:19Speaker 2: That's where I was like, There's there's one theory where
- 37:21Speaker 2: that Dottie let go of it on purpose, right, But
- 37:24Speaker 2: there's also a theory that Kit hit her so hard
- 37:28Speaker 2: and she wasn't expecting it, right, and she literally hit
- 37:32Speaker 2: physically shocked and actually accidentally dropped the ball.
- 37:36Speaker 1: And I like, I could buy that a lot.
- 37:37Speaker 2: I could buy either one.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But I'm going with Kit because I'm just going like,
- 37:41Speaker 1: she she needed to do this, she had in herself.
- 37:44Speaker 1: She's failed so many times prior, and she overcome came
- 37:47Speaker 1: all of it. She she got traded to another team
- 37:50Speaker 1: against her will because she thought her sister wanted to
- 37:52Speaker 1: do that, and then she achieved all this and finally
- 37:55Speaker 1: bested her.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Sister, and then she didn't see her sister for like
- 37:57Speaker 2: ever fifty years after that. I'm saying it's it's not
- 38:02Speaker 2: the happiest ending, but I get it. You know. She
- 38:07Speaker 2: she needed to get out of her sister's shadow. You know,
- 38:09Speaker 2: so that's a big important thing.
- 38:11Speaker 1: All right.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Do you have any questions? Do you have any attacks
- 38:13Speaker 2: you'd like to make on a league of their own?
- 38:16Speaker 3: Not really, because I do like that film.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I do like that film.
- 38:20Speaker 1: A tough one.
- 38:22Speaker 3: I mean, it's obviously it's got its.
- 38:23Speaker 2: Flaws, but yeah it does for real.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Yeah, but yeah, no, I don't really have anything.
- 38:29Speaker 2: That Madonna's funny like something. The two of them, the
- 38:36Speaker 2: two of them together, the two of them together should
- 38:39Speaker 2: have done like a stretch of comedy action movies. I
- 38:43Speaker 2: would have loved to have seen a Madonna Rosi o'
- 38:46Speaker 2: donald cop flick right after Buddy Cop Fleck. I would
- 38:49Speaker 2: have loved that. I would have absolutely enjoyed the ship
- 38:52Speaker 2: out of that.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Madonna still plays the promiscuous, freaking legs quote unquote slutty
- 38:56Speaker 1: firston and ship. But she's getting the information needed. Dudes,
- 39:03Speaker 1: Oh my god, I do tricks.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Wow.
- 39:07Speaker 2: All right, if you have no more attacks than I guess,
- 39:10Speaker 2: we're gonna move on to you. Okay, all right, give
- 39:12Speaker 2: me your best. What is your favorite sports movie of
- 39:15Speaker 2: all time? And why is it the best movie?
- 39:17Speaker 3: Man, I'm gonna be honest, I don't really watch sports movies.
- 39:21Speaker 3: Okay and gradua Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait
- 39:23Speaker 3: wait wait wait so quick to just cut to the chase.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be ship.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Well, yeah, it's gonna be absolute ship.
- 39:32Speaker 2: You're right, maybe it will be.
- 39:33Speaker 3: The thing is, as I said, I was gonna do
- 39:36Speaker 3: something goofy and makes something fun, some fucking funny thing
- 39:39Speaker 3: about how Fast and Furious is technically a racing movie
- 39:44Speaker 3: sports and.
- 39:45Speaker 2: It is, And it technically is. No, it's not.
- 39:50Speaker 1: There's like eleven of them.
- 39:53Speaker 3: But then I remember a quote by a certain sense,
- 39:58Speaker 3: never put passion in front of principle, because even if
- 40:03Speaker 3: you win, you lose. So I propose the best sports
- 40:08Speaker 3: movie is The Karate Kid.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Oh okay, fucking a Augie. Okay, Okay, that's a defense.
- 40:20Speaker 2: That's a good pick. Why is it so great?
- 40:23Speaker 3: It's a story about how a kid wants to learn karate,
- 40:28Speaker 3: he wants to protect himself, stuff like that, and he's
- 40:30Speaker 3: learning in a way that no one else is learning.
- 40:33Speaker 3: The other kids are learning in a dojo. That's just
- 40:36Speaker 3: a toxic behavior. That yeah, okay, teaches them karate, but
- 40:41Speaker 3: teaches them how to be the aggressor not use it
- 40:43Speaker 3: for defense.
- 40:45Speaker 9: Now use it, you know, when you need to use it,
- 40:47Speaker 9: not when you want to use it. Whereas you've got
- 40:50Speaker 9: the story of this kid learning the other way, the
- 40:53Speaker 9: correct way to learn how to protect yourself and how
- 40:57Speaker 9: to hone your skills, not just as a fighter, but
- 40:59Speaker 9: as a person.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Yes, okay, okay, an pronuntimate pronuntimate fight at the end?
- 41:07Speaker 1: Is that the right word? Possibly the last second, the
- 41:10Speaker 1: last fight?
- 41:10Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 41:14Speaker 1: What draws you to this movie so much? That makes
- 41:16Speaker 1: this one your favorite over anything else? Like Field of
- 41:18Speaker 1: Dreams and like Sandlot and Ship Mighty Ducks?
- 41:21Speaker 3: Well, mostly because I don't recall most of those, except
- 41:24Speaker 3: for maybe sand Light, but but because this one is
- 41:32Speaker 3: well what many people forget that self defense and a
- 41:35Speaker 3: lot of mar martial arts is considered a sport. In fact,
- 41:38Speaker 3: I think the Olympics hosts many of these events.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Yeah they are, I would.
- 41:46Speaker 1: Considered and stuff like that, But I'm not saying it's
- 41:49Speaker 1: not a sport.
- 41:50Speaker 3: I agree under but it's because it's it's something different.
- 41:54Speaker 3: It's not like, you know, you're a team fight. This
- 41:59Speaker 3: is basically, you're learning to be better yourself, not just
- 42:03Speaker 3: work as better as a team, but to better your
- 42:06Speaker 3: own self being.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I like that. That's a good answer. That's all I
- 42:11Speaker 1: got for now I can think of. You got anything else?
- 42:14Speaker 2: Is killing me? If if I have, it's that. If
- 42:20Speaker 2: I do have a criticism or complaint about the Karate.
- 42:23Speaker 1: Kid, it's that not eighties enough.
- 42:28Speaker 2: No, it's not. Holy shit, I challenge you to eighties karate.
- 42:39Speaker 2: I dare say it's probably about too much kid, not karate. Yeah,
- 42:45Speaker 2: I kind of that's that would probably be my instrument
- 42:48Speaker 2: is that the only actual like karate competition is at
- 42:53Speaker 2: the very end, like there's no bullying. Yeah, it's just
- 42:57Speaker 2: just bullying. And and there's so much bully in this
- 43:00Speaker 2: be so much bullying.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Eighties again, eighties, that's kind of what happened a lot
- 43:06Speaker 1: that that's the whole point, though.
- 43:08Speaker 3: This kid's supposed to be getting knocked down the entire
- 43:10Speaker 3: time until the very end where he shows.
- 43:13Speaker 2: Also, I gotta be honest, I never bought that the
- 43:16Speaker 2: other guy couldn't see that final crane kick coming.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I mean, Hollywood's going to Hollywood.
- 43:21Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, Hollywood is going to Hollywood. I'm like,
- 43:23Speaker 2: but as soon as I saw him doing that fucking thing,
- 43:26Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, he's gonna kick him in the face.
- 43:29Speaker 3: Well, I guess you could think about it, like did
- 43:32Speaker 3: that other children really teach those moves though?
- 43:34Speaker 1: Would they recognize that?
- 43:36Speaker 2: I mean, I don't learn that shit. And I knew
- 43:39Speaker 2: he was gonna get kicked in the face the eighties though,
- 43:42Speaker 2: Like I didn't know. I wasn't taking karate classes and
- 43:46Speaker 2: I knew. I'm like, I'm not getting kicked in the face.
- 43:48Speaker 2: I back up.
- 43:49Speaker 3: I mean, maybe that's supposed to play into like the belligerents.
- 43:53Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 43:54Speaker 2: I don't know, but this is my job. I'm supposed
- 43:56Speaker 2: to try and pick it apart. Now, Okay, you both
- 43:58Speaker 2: defended your movie. Either of us get ears? Actually yeah,
- 44:02Speaker 2: one of you did. Oh there was an instant when
- 44:06Speaker 2: and I'm afraid this time it was a league of
- 44:08Speaker 2: their own. It is my favorite. It is my favorite
- 44:11Speaker 2: sports movie of all time. It is the whole package.
- 44:15Speaker 1: It is.
- 44:15Speaker 2: It is funny, it's got great sports. It does throughout
- 44:19Speaker 2: the whole movie, like there's baseball games all throughout. And
- 44:23Speaker 2: I did not see the finale coming at all, Like
- 44:25Speaker 2: I didn't expect it. When I was watching it in
- 44:27Speaker 2: the theater, I was surprised and shocked.
- 44:29Speaker 1: That game before the last one, I was like, what
- 44:31Speaker 1: the fuck?
- 44:33Speaker 2: No, I mean leaving it all just see impossible, and
- 44:37Speaker 2: I was like, what is happening.
- 44:39Speaker 1: They're they're supposed to strengthen their bond right now.
- 44:43Speaker 8: Well you know.
- 44:44Speaker 2: But yeah, no, I love that movie. I love everything
- 44:46Speaker 2: about it except John Lovet's But Tom Hanks is amazing
- 44:52Speaker 2: in this. It's one of his It's one of his
- 44:54Speaker 2: best performances with World War Two, that man. I honestly,
- 44:59Speaker 2: I love how he changes over the course of the
- 45:02Speaker 2: movie because he changes, he finds purpose in what he's doing,
- 45:07Speaker 2: even though at first he's like, I don't want to
- 45:09Speaker 2: teach these girls how to play baseball girls, And by
- 45:12Speaker 2: the end he's like, come on, girls, we can do this.
- 45:14Speaker 2: I believe in all of us, you know. So yeah,
- 45:17Speaker 2: it's it's a phenomenal role for him. Like I said,
- 45:20Speaker 2: Madonna and and ROSSI O girl are amazing together.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Everybody in it. That's it. I mean again, aside from love.
- 45:25Speaker 2: I mean Mala. All the jokes about Marla's looks, they're
- 45:30Speaker 2: they're fucking awful. And honestly should not have been in
- 45:33Speaker 2: the movie. But yeah, whatever.
- 45:34Speaker 1: Again, when it was made, probably there's a lot of
- 45:37Speaker 1: shit going on.
- 45:38Speaker 2: But I liked how the other girls treated her like
- 45:40Speaker 2: just one of the girls, like they didn't they didn't
- 45:42Speaker 2: make an issue of it at all, and in the
- 45:44Speaker 2: end she did find happiness. So yeah, I love that.
- 45:47Speaker 1: That's when the league and got married and started a
- 45:51Speaker 1: family with that dude. I can camera his name now, absolutely, Walter.
- 45:54Speaker 2: Absolutely, I don't remember it. I need to rewatch it again.
- 45:57Speaker 2: But yeah. One of my my absolute favorite, second favorite
- 46:00Speaker 2: of all time, which honestly does not belong on the
- 46:04Speaker 2: list of best ever god is Ladybugs, the soccer movie
- 46:08Speaker 2: yes from Rodney Danger with Rodney Danger and Jonathan What's
- 46:16Speaker 2: is Nuts pretending to be a girl for most of
- 46:20Speaker 2: the fucking n I forgot it's it's so bad. That
- 46:25Speaker 2: movie is such ship I would.
- 46:28Speaker 1: Have SAgs and I don't know which one to choose now.
- 46:33Speaker 2: It's honestly, it's honestly one of my favorite. I have
- 46:36Speaker 2: a thing for bad sports movies for some reason, I
- 46:39Speaker 2: really like Lady Bugs. I also really like Sidekicks, which
- 46:41Speaker 2: that dude John was also.
- 46:42Speaker 1: In, where he was daydreaming and Nick day dreaming.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Of hanging out with Chuck Norris just really had this
- 46:47Speaker 2: huge heart on for Chuck Norris. The whole movie.
- 46:49Speaker 1: I'll tell you right now that was me. I mean,
- 46:51Speaker 1: it's not the Chuck Norris thing. The daydreaming about ship
- 46:56Speaker 1: like that, and like my mind, I'm always having Chick
- 47:01Speaker 1: Dorris over. I built a studio for I love that motherfucker.
- 47:06Speaker 1: No sh but no, I would do the same fucking shit, dude.
- 47:09Speaker 1: I would daydream all goddamn day long to the point
- 47:12Speaker 1: where it's like, did that just fucking happen? No, that
- 47:14Speaker 1: wasn't him.
- 47:15Speaker 2: That's so funny.
- 47:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I love that movie too. I don't care.
- 47:18Speaker 2: I love that absolutely. Topping the list is illegal. They're on.
- 47:21Speaker 2: Well done, Stevie gets two points. It is two to one.
- 47:25Speaker 2: We are going to have a definitive winner. There will
- 47:27Speaker 2: be no time. We are going to play game three
- 47:30Speaker 2: for three points, and we're going to play that right
- 47:32Speaker 2: after this.
- 47:42Speaker 10: Hey you there, We've got a question for you. Are
- 47:45Speaker 10: you tired of clickbait stories and the loudest voices driving
- 47:48Speaker 10: discussions and culture and entertainment.
- 47:50Speaker 5: If so, I'm Dylan, I'm Kendall and I'm Corey and
- 47:54Speaker 5: we host the podcast from the Middle. We're middle class
- 47:58Speaker 5: guys living in the middle of America, in the middle
- 48:00Speaker 5: chapters of our lives with points of view somewhere in
- 48:03Speaker 5: the middle.
- 48:04Speaker 11: We take a more reasonable and centrist approach in our discussions,
- 48:07Speaker 11: covering genres like comedy, culture, entertainment, and interviews with really
- 48:13Speaker 11: interesting folks like business owners, comic creators, doctors, news anchors,

- 48:21Speaker 1: And more.
- 48:23Speaker 11: We really value a relaxed and conversational podcast, one that
- 48:27Speaker 11: we hope is so fun and laid back you'll forget
- 48:30Speaker 11: you're not actually hanging out with us.

- 48:36Speaker 10: or check us out everywhere you can find podcasts.
- 49:28Speaker 2: Hello, and welcome, Welcome back, Son of a Bitch, Fly
- 49:35Speaker 2: Welcome back to episode two ninety. Game three is going
- 49:38Speaker 2: to be the cost is correct?
- 49:40Speaker 1: Heck yeah, It's one of my favorites man our.
- 49:43Speaker 2: Legally distinct price guessing game. I have three items here
- 49:47Speaker 2: that recently went up for bids on a auction website. Okay,
- 49:52Speaker 2: and I know exactly how much they went for, and
- 49:54Speaker 2: all you guys have to do is bid as close
- 49:56Speaker 2: as you can to the actual final auction price without
- 49:59Speaker 2: going over. Whichever player does manage to do that wins
- 50:02Speaker 2: the listing, and the first player to win two out
- 50:05Speaker 2: of three listings will win the game and get three points. Now,
- 50:08Speaker 2: because there's only two of you, we are doing final
- 50:11Speaker 2: bids rules, so you will bid again and again until
- 50:14Speaker 2: one of you either gets really really close or goes over,
- 50:19Speaker 2: at which point I will immediately call for final bids
- 50:22Speaker 2: fair and you will each have one more chance to
- 50:25Speaker 2: either increase your bid or stay where you are. If
- 50:29Speaker 2: you guys are.
- 50:30Speaker 1: Ready, yes, sir, let's do it to it.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Aggie, you lost the last game, so you have the choice.
- 50:37Speaker 2: Would you like to bid first or do you want
- 50:38Speaker 2: to make Stevie bid first.
- 50:41Speaker 3: I'll go first this time, by now.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Okay, our first item up for bids on the cost
- 50:45Speaker 2: is correct? Is this fabulous signed white Los Angeles King's helmet,
- 50:52Speaker 2: signed by none other than Wayne Gretzky, comes with a
- 50:57Speaker 2: certificate of authenticity. Prove these signature's value and this listing
- 51:03Speaker 2: can be yours if the cost is correct. Augie, you
- 51:07Speaker 2: start us.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Off three thousand Canadian.
- 51:13Speaker 2: I know three thousand three thousand, I will call for
- 51:18Speaker 2: final biduck, Well it's not three thousand, or he could
- 51:24Speaker 2: be really.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Should I overbid to just so we can get our
- 51:27Speaker 1: I guess let's do nine hundred.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Nine hundred. Okay, both overbid the actual final auction price
- 51:38Speaker 2: of this signed Los Angeles King's helmet ninety nine dollars.
- 51:45Speaker 2: Stevie wins number one.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Practically, but I wanted that helmet and going to guess
- 51:50Speaker 1: my collection of hockey stuffs.
- 51:52Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I was surprised. It's only thirteen hundred bucks
- 51:56Speaker 2: were assigned Wayne Gretzky helmet. If I was flushed, I know,
- 51:59Speaker 2: I don't know what the helmet was actually warned by him.
- 52:01Speaker 2: I doubt it.
- 52:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it's just say I felt like three grand was
- 52:05Speaker 3: I'll say it's not his helmet sounds like La Kings
- 52:09Speaker 3: he played for two years.
- 52:10Speaker 2: Also, Wayne Gretzky has probably signed so many things.
- 52:13Speaker 1: Yeah, this is some random ones and he got at
- 52:16Speaker 1: the gift shop.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so we're gonna get a little bit more eclectic
- 52:18Speaker 2: here that even into this next item, ogie you must
- 52:25Speaker 2: win this one in order to say in the game. Okay,
- 52:28Speaker 2: the next item of forbids is this game worn jersey.
- 52:32Speaker 2: This is a Mike Gillis Colorado Rockies NHL game warn
- 52:36Speaker 2: hockey jersey from his last season in nineteen eighty. It's
- 52:40Speaker 2: an extra large and it features stick marks, board burns,
- 52:44Speaker 2: and sewing repairs. And the listing goes to whichever one
- 52:48Speaker 2: of you wins this bid. Stevie, you will start us
- 52:51Speaker 2: off this time.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I'll trade you the helmet for whatever this
- 52:54Speaker 1: goes for.
- 52:56Speaker 3: Oh, because it's probably worth more than the helmet.
- 52:59Speaker 1: It's I will take. Oh my god.
- 53:04Speaker 3: Also, you won the helmet.
- 53:05Speaker 1: What are you talking? I know I'll trade you if
- 53:07Speaker 1: you win this. If not, to keep them both, we'll
- 53:09Speaker 1: go with fifteen hundred.
- 53:12Speaker 2: Fifteen hundred. I am calling for final.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Bids, say nine like I did thirteen hundred. Oh, oh
- 53:21Speaker 1: you're nice.
- 53:22Speaker 2: Thirteen hundred. Okay, I'll tell you right now. You didn't
- 53:27Speaker 2: double overbid.
- 53:29Speaker 1: Oh that's good.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Oh, we just I'm a little over So this game
- 53:33Speaker 2: is going to be over literally minutes after we started,
- 53:36Speaker 2: because you both insta la final bid on each of these.
- 53:42Speaker 2: So the actual final auction price occupid thirteen hundred. Stee,
- 53:46Speaker 2: you be fifteen hundred. The actual final auction price of
- 53:48Speaker 2: this real wor Hockey Jersey in nineteen eighty. We both
- 53:53Speaker 2: went over No, I said, you didn't double over bid.
