- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, where is he?
- 0:01Speaker 2: I don't know. I guess you forgot, but people seemed
- 0:04Speaker 2: like me.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Last week you stood in for mister teeny. Bu'd you
- 0:08Speaker 3: like just standing for Christy?
- 0:09Speaker 4: Oh well, it's one thing, the feeling for a monkey,
- 0:13Speaker 4: but a comedy legend.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I wouldn't dream of it.
- 0:16Speaker 3: I respect it. Gangel run through. Okay, I didn't my
- 0:20Speaker 3: four finger discount.
- 0:21Speaker 5: Dude, welcome to four figure discount.
- 0:39Speaker 3: It is the finale of season nineteen.
- 0:42Speaker 6: That had told me ten years ago when we first
- 0:44Speaker 6: started this podcast that i'd been reviewing the first nineteen
- 0:47Speaker 6: seasons of The Simpsons. I would have laughed at you,
- 0:48Speaker 6: But we're here, We're going to be reviewing all about Lisa.
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'm Dando and I'm guys, and Dando was laughing at
- 0:54Speaker 3: you for wholly different reasons these days. But uh no,
- 0:56Speaker 3: he's not laughing about this, and neither was I. And
- 0:59Speaker 3: all I say, oh worried. We were both of them worried.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I was going in very concerned because the title would
- 1:06Speaker 3: indicate that it's a least episode, which which is fine,
- 1:08Speaker 3: which is fine.
- 1:09Speaker 6: Let's go out the bed and when we see a
- 1:11Speaker 6: Lisa title, now, let's not bothered anymore because we tend
- 1:13Speaker 6: to enjoy them. That's a thing that bothered me, or
- 1:15Speaker 6: to scared me for all of season eighteen. It was
- 1:17Speaker 6: too much side show mail, too much side show mail
- 1:20Speaker 6: and side yes. And then it feels like season nineteen
- 1:25Speaker 6: they've put him into the way so a little bit,
- 1:26Speaker 6: it's like, okay, well we realized this, we won't put
- 1:29Speaker 6: in there. And then all of a sudden they went,
- 1:31Speaker 6: oh shit, we forgot about mail. We've saved it all
- 1:33Speaker 6: up for one last episode. Yeah, but and it's a
- 1:37Speaker 6: big butt. It was appropriate and it worked.
- 1:40Speaker 3: And there was a whole lot of it, Yeah, worse
- 1:42Speaker 3: than you might expect. That's the thing.
- 1:44Speaker 6: They used him sparingly, and it was used efficiently as well,
- 1:48Speaker 6: as you said, And they gave some depth to the
- 1:50Speaker 6: character to finally explain why would this guy stick around
- 1:52Speaker 6: after being treated like dirt all these years? Why would
- 1:55Speaker 6: he still want to be CRUSH's assistant. And it makes
- 1:58Speaker 6: sense here that it's true and it works. Now they
- 2:00Speaker 6: say they compare it here. I think Homer compared schi
- 2:03Speaker 6: competite to checking your email, the addiction to getting that craving.
- 2:07Speaker 6: Now it's notification on social media. Yes, it's just it's
- 2:10Speaker 6: evolved to something different. But it's true when wrestlers are
- 2:13Speaker 6: very similar in the sense that they can't A lot
- 2:15Speaker 6: of them just can't retire because they missed that that
- 2:18Speaker 6: influx of just what would you how would you describe it?
- 2:21Speaker 3: Well, validation is one word, but I think recognition. Yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 3: but it's like it's like a drug though. Just this
- 2:28Speaker 3: crowd loves me, you know. Oh, they find people at
- 2:31Speaker 3: various social media companies so well on the well on that,
- 2:36Speaker 3: I mean, they're essentially pushes.
- 2:38Speaker 6: Yep, and they constantly remind you we were on the
- 2:41Speaker 6: Facebook group, right, Hey, keep engaging with your followers. They
- 2:44Speaker 6: love when they hear from you, and I'm like, oh, okay,
- 2:46Speaker 6: I'll do it if you say so. So I love
- 2:49Speaker 6: engaging and I love being engaged with.
- 2:51Speaker 3: Yes.
- 2:51Speaker 6: Oh, now they've got the remember twelve months ago went
- 2:54Speaker 6: oh this stuff happened. Wasn't that fun? Let's remind every
- 2:57Speaker 6: one of what you did twelve months ago, and let's
- 2:59Speaker 6: create a new memory's and shared them with your your fans,
- 3:01Speaker 6: your friends who you never see in the real world anymore.
- 3:04Speaker 3: But they're all your friends on social media. Well, these
- 3:06Speaker 3: are all their friends of the Oh.
- 3:08Speaker 6: Yeah, for forg your discat network, those people I'm talking
- 3:10Speaker 6: in your personal Facebook?
- 3:11Speaker 3: You know about actual friends who are really friends anyone?
- 3:13Speaker 6: It's like yeah, it's like, hey, it's your seventeenth frindniversary
- 3:18Speaker 6: with this guy from UNI who you haven't spoken to
- 3:19Speaker 6: in seventeen years. Like, oh that guys, have you noticed
- 3:24Speaker 6: I've noticed a lot lately. I think people have realized
- 3:27Speaker 6: Facebook now it's full of ads, and it's full of
- 3:29Speaker 6: just constant, just badgering of non friend related content and everyone.
- 3:33Speaker 6: People are starting to go through their friend list and
- 3:35Speaker 6: just culling it down to.
- 3:37Speaker 3: Who do I really care about it?
- 3:38Speaker 7: Now?
- 3:38Speaker 6: That's just what you do when you get older. Who
- 3:40Speaker 6: do I really want to hear from anymore?
- 3:42Speaker 8: Oh?
- 3:42Speaker 3: Yes, your circle, Your circle shrieks, but it becomes stronger,
- 3:45Speaker 3: that's it. Yeah. And I find now so many people
- 3:47Speaker 3: pop up and suggested friends, and I go, we be friends.
- 3:51Speaker 3: We're not friends. You've unfriended me credit we haven't spoken
- 3:55Speaker 3: in twenty years because we were quote unquote friends.
- 3:58Speaker 6: Yeah, but it's an interesting I want to be up
- 4:00Speaker 6: because of this this story here. Why does that it
- 4:03Speaker 6: doesn't I wouldn't say it bothers me but why does it?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Sort of?
- 4:08Speaker 6: I guess it slightly annoys me. They'll go, I've done
- 4:11Speaker 6: nothing to you, so why do you want friend on
- 4:12Speaker 6: Facebook anymore?
- 4:13Speaker 7: I think?
- 4:14Speaker 3: But you haven't spoken to him a tendee, So why
- 4:16Speaker 3: does it bother me? Why should I care? But I
- 4:18Speaker 3: do slightly care that they've unfriended me, even though I shouldn't. Oh, yeah,
- 4:22Speaker 3: you're going to be like Michael Jordan, take it personally, Yeah,
- 4:25Speaker 3: very very personal. Yeah, even though you have done supposedly
- 4:29Speaker 3: nothing wrong. It makes even less sense if you have
- 4:34Speaker 3: done nothing, if it's through inaction, as opposed to hey,
- 4:38Speaker 3: fuck you and oh okay, well you've got to at
- 4:41Speaker 3: ament you're wholly justified in unfriending me for doing that too.
- 4:45Speaker 6: But the thing is, but I go, you've made the
- 4:47Speaker 6: effort to unfriend me, You've gone, I don't want to
- 4:50Speaker 6: be that. I've clicked no longer my friend.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Get rid of them? What do I do because you
- 4:56Speaker 3: did nothing? Yeah? Because and you feel like you owe
- 4:59Speaker 3: them nothing. I've given them nothing. Yeah. And the reason
- 5:02Speaker 3: you might feel bad about it is like, oh, do
- 5:04Speaker 3: I bring nothing of value? Yeah? Do I bring anything
- 5:08Speaker 3: to the table? And that's when you start to you know,
- 5:12Speaker 3: maybe I don't get a little voice in your head
- 5:13Speaker 3: like given some well.
- 5:15Speaker 6: It putting more effort into these friendships. I find I
- 5:18Speaker 6: don't put anywhere enough effort into friendships anymore. It's just,
- 5:21Speaker 6: you know, you just go on social media, you like
- 5:23Speaker 6: like a photo, and you go.
- 5:24Speaker 3: Liking a photo. Isn't the same as calling someone and saying, hey,
- 5:27Speaker 3: how you doing. No, I'm bad about it. I legitimately
- 5:31Speaker 3: I made a mistake the other day. But yeah, a
- 5:37Speaker 3: good friend of mine. These are friends that I've known
- 5:39Speaker 3: from school for a very very long time. We will occasional.
- 5:41Speaker 3: We're all you know when I say, we're in different cities,
- 5:44Speaker 3: some recent Geelong, some rescent Melbourne. We will try to
- 5:48Speaker 3: get together, maybe once every six months, usually once a year.
- 5:51Speaker 3: You mentioned the one of my circle of friends, Will
- 5:56Speaker 3: is very proactive in this regard. He's the one who
- 5:58Speaker 3: will say, Okay, it's been enough time, let's get together.
- 6:01Speaker 3: We'll have it at my place. I'm sick of kicking
- 6:04Speaker 3: my girlfriend out. Bring your partners if you want. I
- 6:08Speaker 3: thought i'd reply to this. It turns that I hadn't,
- 6:10Speaker 3: But then a few other people hadn't as well. And
- 6:12Speaker 3: Will send a strongly worded email the other day. Okay, okay,
- 6:17Speaker 3: because your pricks are lazy, I'm not doing it at
- 6:19Speaker 3: this time. We're not doing it at this time. Get
- 6:22Speaker 3: your ship together and we'll do it another time.
- 6:24Speaker 6: But sometimes you need to be told though, Oh yeah,
- 6:26Speaker 6: And it's like I've got a story in regards to that.
- 6:28Speaker 6: It's a long show about kids being told. Sometimes you
- 6:32Speaker 6: just need to be woken up. Oh yeah, at the
- 6:34Speaker 6: slumber of just But we're all like, oh god, damn it. Yeah,
- 6:37Speaker 6: look we're ignorant, and you.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Have to reply to your subconsciously went nah, I'll get
- 6:42Speaker 3: to it. I'll get Yeah. Yeah. I think I'd probably
- 6:43Speaker 3: like written a half a draft and was like, oh,
- 6:46Speaker 3: something else because I've got my discount, I've got about
- 6:49Speaker 3: Lisa Limited. Yes, yeah, I've got my undiagnosed ADHD and
- 6:55Speaker 3: all that kind of stuff. But yeah, I mean it's
- 6:58Speaker 3: a lot easier these days. You just go well, liking
- 7:03Speaker 3: this photo or sending a little message like hey, looking good. Yeah,
- 7:07Speaker 3: his name is Jared. He apparently likes that, apparently does like.
- 7:13Speaker 3: It's no real substitute for getting in touch with they
- 7:17Speaker 3: with a friend and saying, hey, you're doing shall we
- 7:20Speaker 3: meet for dinner. But at the same time, the door
- 7:22Speaker 3: does swing both ways. It's not all on you. It's
- 7:25Speaker 3: also on the other person as well, and we will
- 7:27Speaker 3: when we finally do get together, it's going to be
- 7:29Speaker 3: like where it is. I feel bad. This is a
- 7:32Speaker 3: really good time we're having. We should do this more often,
- 7:34Speaker 3: and then we don't, and then we don't. We filled
- 7:37Speaker 3: up the team just enough from this one meeting. Anyway,
- 7:40Speaker 3: you were about to say about the Geelong Show, which
- 7:42Speaker 3: is is it still longest? It finished Sunday, guys for
- 7:45Speaker 3: the weekend doesn't Thursday, Friday Saturday so got washed out
- 7:48Speaker 3: Friday so it was closed. That's yeah. May I just
- 7:50Speaker 3: say something before you tell your Geelong Show story, is
- 7:53Speaker 3: that the Lovely Luisa's Sun Felix was mad on going
- 7:57Speaker 3: to the show on Friday and he was just anyway, Friday,
- 8:01Speaker 3: just that's the time to go. None of us know why.
- 8:05Speaker 6: I felt like Friday night when I was a kid,
- 8:06Speaker 6: Friday nights seemed to be the one because you'd be
- 8:08Speaker 6: at school with all your frink thing. I'll see you
- 8:09Speaker 6: at the show tonight.
- 8:10Speaker 3: This may well have been it, but it was hitting
- 8:13Speaker 3: with various texts sort of explaining his case, not all
- 8:17Speaker 3: that eloquently loose responses. Basically, have you looked out the window?
- 8:26Speaker 3: It was forty days and forty nights of rain in
- 8:28Speaker 3: Geelong on it was mental, it was washed out. Yeah yeah,
- 8:33Speaker 3: but he was like, it's good.
- 8:35Speaker 7: Is it good?
- 8:35Speaker 3: He's just a little moist. Yeah, he didn't really care
- 8:38Speaker 3: about how terrible the weather was. Gelong Show Facebook page
- 8:40Speaker 3: of going, don't worry about it, it's fine, guys were good.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Look it's a bit of sun in the sky and
- 8:43Speaker 3: everyone's like, you're fucking insane, you are, And it turns
- 8:46Speaker 3: out Saturday it was really nice day. It was amazing.
- 8:48Speaker 3: That's when we went, yeah, okay, so but one of
- 8:51Speaker 3: the times they came around phillags like eh, not interested.
- 8:54Speaker 3: I didn't go, but tell us your Geelong shows.
- 8:57Speaker 6: But before we get into the Gelong show stories. Because
- 8:59Speaker 6: it's Holly's birthday. That's why we went.
- 9:01Speaker 3: Why we went.
- 9:02Speaker 6: But it's a happy birthday to Holly. Four Yeah, twenty
- 9:05Speaker 6: four all about Lisa. Just get back a track. Oh yeah,
- 9:08Speaker 6: I like the episode.
- 9:10Speaker 3: I thought it was pretty good.
- 9:11Speaker 6: I don't as far as season finales go, I've got here.
- 9:14Speaker 6: This wasn't like an overly all out finale, But are
- 9:16Speaker 6: they ever really besides the couple. They never usually go
- 9:21Speaker 6: all the way back to season I want to say seven,
- 9:23Speaker 6: when it's the summer of four foot two. That's not
- 9:26Speaker 6: an all that episode, that just a lease of discovery.
- 9:28Speaker 6: They tend to go to Lisa stories.
- 9:30Speaker 3: What would you expect from or when you think of
- 9:33Speaker 3: a season finale, what do you think of or what
- 9:36Speaker 3: would you like?
- 9:37Speaker 6: Well, I it depends on what kind of show it is, obviously,
- 9:40Speaker 6: but you think when you're going you want to go
- 9:42Speaker 6: out with a bang.
- 9:43Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 9:43Speaker 6: If I'm working on the sims, I want to go
- 9:44Speaker 6: out with something that's making you want to come back again.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Yeah. See, I'm always thinking when I think of finales,
- 9:50Speaker 3: I think it's sounded like Game of Thrones, which would
- 9:52Speaker 3: often have the second last episode, the penolon episode would
- 9:56Speaker 3: often have like the big battle, yeah, okay, something like that,
- 9:59Speaker 3: and then the final episode would be a bit of
- 10:01Speaker 3: a yeah not hangover from the previous battle. I was like,
- 10:07Speaker 3: oh my god, we've killed so many people, exhausted or whatever.
- 10:10Speaker 3: First half of the last episode is dealing with the
- 10:13Speaker 3: repercussion of that second half is what's going to happen
- 10:16Speaker 3: moving forward. Yeah, so it's kind of a place out
- 10:18Speaker 3: of for the following season. So yeah, I mean it's
- 10:21Speaker 3: I'm of the mind that the final episode of the show,
- 10:24Speaker 3: or the final episode of the season is rarely the
- 10:27Speaker 3: big or sometimes that's a show that's a different thing.
- 10:32Speaker 3: You're right, You're right.
- 10:34Speaker 6: I remember because it was season four they ended with
- 10:36Speaker 6: the Crusty gets canceled before the guest stars. I just
- 10:39Speaker 6: think that they tend to kick off the season now
- 10:41Speaker 6: with as many guestars as possible.
- 10:42Speaker 3: They did it with Bart's birthday this year.
- 10:44Speaker 6: I just think that I don't know, as if I'm
- 10:47Speaker 6: working on The Simpsons, I would want to go out
- 10:48Speaker 6: with the Banks. Everyone goes ship. That was fun, and
- 10:51Speaker 6: he might even go that was actually a good season.
- 10:54Speaker 3: I mean, this wasn't well, this wasn't star packed at
- 10:57Speaker 3: or didn't have any oh Handrew carry Yeah, apologies and cameo.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Apologies to that man. But yeah, for the most part,
- 11:04Speaker 3: this was just a I don't know, a pretty good
- 11:07Speaker 3: episode the Simpsons.
- 11:08Speaker 6: Yeah, it was just a nice sort of I found
- 11:10Speaker 6: it a similar vibe to any given Sundance, where it's
- 11:13Speaker 6: like a Leasa Discovery episode yeah.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Oh, I don't know, what's Lisa's sort of discovering about
- 11:18Speaker 3: herself or what are we discovering about Lisa. No, a
- 11:20Speaker 3: whole lot. I mean discovering about Lisa her stuff.
- 11:22Speaker 6: I guess it's just saw the end go how it
- 11:24Speaker 6: ended that one there, whereas you know what I need,
- 11:26Speaker 6: I doesn't need to go back to my family. This
- 11:28Speaker 6: one here it was a similar vibe where it's just
- 11:30Speaker 6: her gone back with the family and then that's the
- 11:32Speaker 6: end of the episode.
- 11:32Speaker 3: I guess. Yeah, it didn't feel quite as distinct the
- 11:40Speaker 3: message in this in this particular episode, Yeah, I don't know.
- 11:43Speaker 3: I did like the b plot though. The collecting.
- 11:47Speaker 6: Yeah, they didn't overdo it. They didn't sort of like
- 11:50Speaker 6: try to drag it out. Was just here to sort
- 11:52Speaker 6: of fill some gaps. But as someone who has collected
- 11:54Speaker 6: cards and things over the years, I really liked the
- 11:57Speaker 6: way once they finally got that coin, let's put it
- 11:59Speaker 6: on a shelf and look at it again. What is the
- 12:02Speaker 6: purpose of collecting? How often do we collect things and
- 12:04Speaker 6: just put it away?
- 12:05Speaker 3: I think it is It is really the hunting and
- 12:07Speaker 3: not the getting right.
- 12:08Speaker 6: It's an iced eating right probably, Yeah, But how often though,
- 12:12Speaker 6: I've was talking to a mate yesterday. It was yesterday
- 12:15Speaker 6: day before at Holy's birthday party.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Another dad.
- 12:17Speaker 6: He buys legos, right, and he goes, I've got so
- 12:19Speaker 6: many legos that have never opened. He goes, I think
- 12:22Speaker 6: I feel like the idea of building it is going
- 12:24Speaker 6: to be so much more fun than the actual build,
- 12:26Speaker 6: because once it's built, I'll be disappointed that I can't
- 12:29Speaker 6: then have that idea of oh, I can't wait to
- 12:31Speaker 6: build that. I'm similar with like movies. I have movies
- 12:33Speaker 6: in my watches and I go, but once I've watched it, oh,
- 12:35Speaker 6: no longer have that feeling.
- 12:36Speaker 3: Of oh I can't wait to watch this, Oh, just
- 12:39Speaker 3: the right time. Yeah, yeah, I'm very much the same. Yeah,
- 12:42Speaker 3: it's weird how we just do that, but we're weird creatures.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I mean I was and still aim to
- 12:48Speaker 3: some degree of like, oh, I've got to have all
- 12:50Speaker 3: the films like this directory is one of my favorites. Okay, yeah,
- 12:52Speaker 3: and who is your favorite director? That's a tough one.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Okay for another show.
- 12:59Speaker 6: We could go on and that will save that for
- 13:01Speaker 6: another show. It's literally launching next week, we promise. We've
- 13:06Speaker 6: been teasing it for too long.
- 13:08Speaker 3: But say you're like David Fincher who made Seven and
- 13:13Speaker 3: Zodiac and all that kind of stuff. It's like, oh, yeah,
- 13:15Speaker 3: this guy's a really good filmaker. I've got to have
- 13:17Speaker 3: all these films. It's like, how many times have I
- 13:19Speaker 3: rewatched the copy of Gone Girl that I actually bought.
- 13:22Speaker 3: It's a fantastic movie. How many times have you opened it? Never?
- 13:25Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure there were some in there. I
- 13:27Speaker 3: was like, Oh, you've still got the plastic on you
- 13:28Speaker 3: when I bought you like six years ago.
- 13:29Speaker 6: I had a lot in there. I just I'm like,
- 13:32Speaker 6: I just like knowing that I've got it if I
- 13:34Speaker 6: do want to watch it.
- 13:34Speaker 3: Well, yeah, because they're hearing more and more horror stories
- 13:37Speaker 3: about oh yeah they yanked this from the from the
- 13:39Speaker 3: streaming platform, or they edited it or something like that.
- 13:42Speaker 3: It's the editing, the editing.
- 13:44Speaker 6: Did you see the video that was going around on
- 13:45Speaker 6: Twitter of the end of Psycho So oh yeah, with
- 13:49Speaker 6: his face and the small screen and it's it's.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Like, ah, ship terrible, terrible, terrible. Yeah. Now we were
- 13:58Speaker 3: talking about at least, but I did want to talk
- 14:00Speaker 3: about the show.
- 14:02Speaker 6: Oh, it was just about putting kids in his place,
- 14:04Speaker 6: just a story reminded me because we're at the Gelong
- 14:06Speaker 6: Show and Holly in just been on the ghost Train
- 14:09Speaker 6: of Nicola. At this time, Elliott was fine, Holly is
- 14:12Speaker 6: still a.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Bit that was scary, right, so we said just to
- 14:16Speaker 3: cheer her up. Right.
- 14:16Speaker 6: I feel like they've strategically done this. Right right next
- 14:19Speaker 6: to the ghost train is this super fun, happy slide
- 14:22Speaker 6: inflatable thing and it's like, I reckon. The kids that
- 14:24Speaker 6: get scared from the ghost train, their parents go here,
- 14:26Speaker 6: go on the slide that's fun, just as I can't
- 14:28Speaker 6: them down. Holly's on there, blah blah blah. And so
- 14:30Speaker 6: Holly's four now Elliott six. There's two kids that are
- 14:33Speaker 6: on there.
- 14:33Speaker 3: I reckon.
- 14:33Speaker 6: They would have been at least nine ten, these two boys.
- 14:37Speaker 6: And this is his Cardie there rough as anything a
- 14:40Speaker 6: Carney right and the kit we love we love Carnies.
- 14:45Speaker 6: And one of the kids sort of push Holly the
- 14:47Speaker 6: ways he's going up the ladder in the middle because
- 14:48Speaker 6: it's ladder up the middle and two slides on the.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Side, like inflatable slides.
- 14:52Speaker 6: And he goes, oh, you cut that out, and the
- 14:54Speaker 6: kids at of looked at me and say, yeah, shut up.
- 14:56Speaker 6: Bold mate, whatever, and then whatever, And about thirty seconds
- 14:59Speaker 6: later he pushes Holly Air out of the way again
- 15:01Speaker 6: and I kid you not direct quote.
- 15:03Speaker 3: This guy goes O you you get the fuck off?
- 15:10Speaker 3: What do we say? We love Karnis. I was like,
- 15:12Speaker 3: this guy gives no shit, and Nicholas like, you probably
- 15:14Speaker 3: shouldn't swear, you know what. Some kids just need to
- 15:15Speaker 3: be told, Oh yeah, get the fuck off at the
- 15:19Speaker 3: top of his lug. Sometimes you need to hear an
- 15:21Speaker 3: f bomb from an adult.
- 15:22Speaker 6: And they looked at him differently that time. They went, oh,
- 15:25Speaker 6: he means business. Do not f with this Cardie.
- 15:29Speaker 3: Oh yeah, just get the FuG off. I was like,
- 15:32Speaker 3: what a man. There's probably a term in Australia that
- 15:36Speaker 3: it's not carne. It's probably something. Oh yeah, I don't care.
- 15:40Speaker 3: Carnie's the Cardie coat. It's great you look. I see
- 15:46Speaker 3: you every year doing this same fucking ride every time.
- 15:48Speaker 3: I love it. Probably a dope lifestyle, actually no, probably
- 15:52Speaker 3: a terrible life style.
- 15:53Speaker 6: But you know, you gotta like sort of haggle your
- 15:56Speaker 6: way through life kind of thing. You build the rides
- 15:58Speaker 6: or whatnot. Be I don't know, mate, just but you know,
- 16:01Speaker 6: at the.
- 16:01Speaker 3: End of the day you've dismantled the tilted world or
- 16:03Speaker 3: whatever you can just you know, it's the Pixie life
- 16:05Speaker 3: style on that art rip the lid off a beer.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah we did it right. They made a lot. They
- 16:12Speaker 3: must make a fortune, mate, cardies love them. You look
- 16:16Speaker 3: at you go.
- 16:17Speaker 6: You are definitely a family. The two brothers doing wearing
- 16:21Speaker 6: the scary mask in the ghost train. My mama's doing
- 16:23Speaker 6: the tickets and dad's pushing the go button.
- 16:27Speaker 3: I love it. Oh fantastic.
- 16:29Speaker 6: But yeah that I want to give a shout to
- 16:31Speaker 6: that guy. I told the boys to get off good
- 16:34Speaker 6: times anyway, So yeah, all about Lisa, A really fun story.
- 16:38Speaker 6: Now they mentioned here, I thought, you know how we
- 16:40Speaker 6: say the unified theory for fing a discount.
- 16:42Speaker 3: This is kind of like that.
- 16:43Speaker 6: But it's just it's so odd right this episode here
- 16:47Speaker 6: they mentioned somebody who side says, for the love of God, make.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Sure you know who she is? Is? Who Mincy Gainer? Yes, yes,
- 16:57Speaker 3: mustered away five days ago, Yes, ninety something I believe,
- 17:01Speaker 3: but yeah, only three.
- 17:02Speaker 6: I think if we had recorded this last week, she's
- 17:05Speaker 6: still be alive, like, oh yeah, yeah, she's an actress.
- 17:07Speaker 6: She passed away five days ago. What are the odds
- 17:10Speaker 6: when we got to this episode where she gets named.
- 17:12Speaker 3: This happening rit Mitzi Gainer. Yeah, one of those stars
- 17:17Speaker 3: whose name is more memorable than perhaps and yeah to
- 17:21Speaker 3: certain people, imagine a lot of the audience of Full Figure,
- 17:24Speaker 3: this game is going show birthday with her. Oh there
- 17:27Speaker 3: you go. Yeah, and therefore almost a birthday with me
- 17:31Speaker 3: ninety three years old. Yes, yeah, probably best known for
- 17:34Speaker 3: the musical South Pacific. You know, so like I'm gonna
- 17:37Speaker 3: wash that man right out of my hair, that kind
- 17:39Speaker 3: of thing. But yeah, incredible that.
- 17:42Speaker 6: Best remember as a start of the nineteen fifty eight
- 17:44Speaker 6: film musical South Pacific.
- 17:47Speaker 3: But to my mind, there were two things in this
- 17:49Speaker 3: episode that sort of correspond with recent events. One is
- 17:53Speaker 3: the death of Mitzi Gainer. One is they talk about
- 17:56Speaker 3: the kissing Lincoln Penny. There is currently a documentary going
- 18:00Speaker 3: around called Lover of Men. The Untold History of Abraham
- 18:06Speaker 3: Lincoln deposits that Abraham Lincoln might have swung both ways,
- 18:11Speaker 3: that he reading an article here at the center of
- 18:15Speaker 3: the documentary, which will be released in Cinema's Friday. This
- 18:18Speaker 3: was in September. Lincoln's relationships with four men who at
- 18:23Speaker 3: one point sheard his bed. But just as important as
- 18:27Speaker 3: those intimate connections is the film's exploration of flourishing homosocial
- 18:31Speaker 3: relationships in the nineteenth century and the idea that only
- 18:33Speaker 3: recently that love between men has become so problematic. I
- 18:36Speaker 3: don't know what that man. You gotta feel your word?
- 18:42Speaker 3: Can there person? I just dawned me.
- 18:45Speaker 6: We do have a unified theory because we just we're
- 18:47Speaker 6: going to be reviewing Insane in the main frame for
- 18:49Speaker 6: our exclusive Tasfutron podcast, which features robot Lincoln.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, it does too. So either we're just
- 18:58Speaker 3: so tuned into the zeitgar so we just keep talking
- 19:00Speaker 3: about stuff that's really really relevant, or there are only
- 19:03Speaker 3: just a few things.
- 19:04Speaker 6: In the world. Do you think, though, that Lincoln would
- 19:07Speaker 6: have been into it or experimenting.
- 19:11Speaker 3: That's a really good question. Let's ask him. Let's ask him,
- 19:15Speaker 3: shall we? Oh?
- 19:17Speaker 7: Wait, my favorite?
- 19:20Speaker 3: Do you have any favorite moments from the episode? I do, Yes,
- 19:23Speaker 3: there's a few here, Please tell me them. I like
- 19:27Speaker 3: that in the at the very start of the episode,
- 19:30Speaker 3: you've got the photograph moments, and one is the champagne
- 19:35Speaker 3: r that is about to hit Lenny in the arts.
- 19:39Speaker 3: It's a nice little shout and it's subtle. So yeah,
- 19:42Speaker 3: I appreciate it that. I believe it's does. Yeah, Krusty
- 19:48Speaker 3: has his mobile phone. The ring tone is the sad
- 19:51Speaker 3: trombone funny like that, like that, I appreciate spoilers for
- 19:58Speaker 3: this episode. I like the grift that Homer pulled on
- 20:03Speaker 3: Burns at the end. It's like, oh, well, at least
- 20:05Speaker 3: by my son a gumball, you got a change for
- 20:07Speaker 3: a niggle.
- 20:07Speaker 6: But here you go, Hob. It wasn't a dick in
- 20:09Speaker 6: any of this or dumb. No, no, he was helping, but.
- 20:12Speaker 3: No, no, he was you know, his traditional Homer in
- 20:15Speaker 3: a lot of ways. But he was also you know,
- 20:17Speaker 3: kind of savvy in some ways and generally good hearted.
- 20:19Speaker 3: Well done home.
- 20:20Speaker 6: One of my favorite moments was five dollars cash.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Yeah, in the Year of Our Lord twenty twenty four
- 20:26Speaker 3: that it's not really playing as much now.
- 20:29Speaker 6: Offering cash just means nothing. Oh, it depends where you're
- 20:31Speaker 6: going though. Some places like carties obviously, oh yeah, they
- 20:34Speaker 6: love the cash.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Yeah. But I'm find himself more and more like asking
- 20:42Speaker 3: plays like cash.
- 20:43Speaker 6: Ironts is a okay, Yeah, I just offer I always
- 20:46Speaker 6: have cash my wallet now I just offer cash, and
- 20:49Speaker 6: he sort of because they always automatically this, so just
- 20:52Speaker 6: pull out the thing now they go, oh, you mean
- 20:55Speaker 6: I have to use mass.
- 20:55Speaker 3: And a punch buttons on this stand. It looks so angry,
- 21:02Speaker 3: like you would take my cash put us. Did you enjoy?
- 21:04Speaker 3: That's what I enjoyed. Tell me what you like.
- 21:06Speaker 6: I liked the five dollars cash. I just liked a
- 21:08Speaker 6: lot of crusty sort of quips to Lisa when you're
- 21:10Speaker 6: sort of just being ridiculous. I think it was, you know,
- 21:13Speaker 6: move on one o'clock to two o'clock, No cancel one too,
- 21:15Speaker 6: two to one and cancel that one.
- 21:17Speaker 3: That kind of thing. Yeah, got my DRNK cleaning, which
- 21:18Speaker 3: is cover my bookie, no co for Scotch, which is
- 21:21Speaker 3: co for my bookie, and also do my drug I liked.
- 21:26Speaker 3: I find Homer Marge.
- 21:27Speaker 6: So much more relatable these days, obviously being a parent
- 21:30Speaker 6: and the scene. Yeah, with the you're in charge of this,
- 21:34Speaker 6: I'm in charge of that, you get strange feelings. Yeah, yeah, yes,
- 21:37Speaker 6: I just like I can just relate to me. The
- 21:39Speaker 6: thing is, though, Nicola and I like to try and
- 21:42Speaker 6: do those moments together just so we're on the same page.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Oh you got a unified front. You don't want to
- 21:46Speaker 3: have the divide and conguer thing with the kids. Day
- 21:49Speaker 3: I could do it. Yeah, no, Dads and I can
- 21:51Speaker 3: touch people in those pieces. Well you can't. Dadd didn't
- 21:56Speaker 3: say that, did he said? Cutting edge? What's what's the timely?
- 22:05Speaker 7: Next question?
- 22:06Speaker 6: You there eating the paste trivia time? My first question
- 22:10Speaker 6: for you is Krusty refers to Nelson as who will
- 22:15Speaker 6: the mud wilber Muddy will buy the most famous wilbur
- 22:18Speaker 6: to you.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Is probably the owner of mister Ed or not owner,
- 22:22Speaker 3: but you know, yeah is the pig? Yeah okay, but
- 22:27Speaker 3: I didn't think. Yeah, I still love you, but you
- 22:31Speaker 3: just it's not on any so many old classic shows
- 22:34Speaker 3: like that. You can't stream them anywhere, and you can't
- 22:37Speaker 3: buy them anywhere. It's like YouTube. Any option probably is
- 22:41Speaker 3: vanished a time. Yeah, surely there's a place for mister
- 22:45Speaker 3: Red somewhere in this world. Well, there are those things
- 22:51Speaker 3: on your smart TV that you you will always pass
- 22:55Speaker 3: by but occasionally land on by accidents, like it's like
- 22:58Speaker 3: you're showing them nanny. Yeah, like, yes, okay, okay, I'll
- 23:02Speaker 3: take it. But yeah, when I think of Wilborough, I
- 23:06Speaker 3: tend to think of Wilbur. My first question to you
- 23:10Speaker 3: is there's black and white footage of the original Kruskertteers. Yes,
- 23:13Speaker 3: the names are on their T shirts. Can you name
- 23:15Speaker 3: at least three of the five?
- 23:16Speaker 6: Oh, Cuddy is the one that doesn't like Krusty anymore,
- 23:20Speaker 6: except he wasn't on that.
- 23:22Speaker 3: He wasn't he was. I'm just thinking of that. Yeah,
- 23:25Speaker 3: it was Cubby or Cuddy, Cubby, Cubby? Yeah, yeah, he
- 23:28Speaker 3: did hard time. Yes, CJ on all fours, that was CJ,
- 23:32Speaker 3: one of the ones in there. Yep. And oh that
- 23:35Speaker 3: that's all I've got. Okay, the five Krustkerteers, and they
- 23:39Speaker 3: were were Justin Justin, Jesse Vivicar, Alex and c J.
- 23:44Speaker 6: Vivicar sounds like fun, so does CJ. CJ's a fun name.
- 23:47Speaker 6: She's up for a good time.
- 23:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 23:48Speaker 3: I went to school with a guy who's I won't
- 23:52Speaker 3: know name, but he was he was related to let's say,
- 23:55Speaker 3: the most powerful media personality is the person who yeah, yeah, Doc, yes, yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 3: but his surname was double barreled, but he went by CJS. Like,
- 24:06Speaker 3: oh god damn it. You're rich, you're good looking, you're athletic,
- 24:12Speaker 3: and you go by c J. God damn it, man. Yeah,
- 24:16Speaker 3: some people just have it the decks just stacked against
- 24:18Speaker 3: the rest of us. We had a CJ in high school.
- 24:22Speaker 3: Christy Jordan Good Times. Oh damn.
- 24:26Speaker 6: You know, you know you're up for a fun when
- 24:28Speaker 6: you're going when you're going out with Christy Jordan.
- 24:31Speaker 3: That name just sounds like, yeah, it's like your eighties
- 24:34Speaker 3: teen company. Yeah, dude, you asked that. Christy Jordan's what
- 24:39Speaker 3: Christy Jordan said. Yeah, two thousand and six. I'm in
- 24:41Speaker 3: year twelven's Christy Jordan Good Times. I've already said the
- 24:45Speaker 3: name of you know, the dream girl at mascool. I
- 24:49Speaker 3: can't remember her name though, Me and Mackenzie. Me and Mackenzie.
- 24:51Speaker 3: That's the one. What a name? That's also me and Mackenzie.
- 24:54Speaker 6: That kind of reminds me of the the hot one
- 24:57Speaker 6: who's also like the nice one that you end up with.
- 25:00Speaker 6: Christy Jordan's the party girl Me and McKenzie's, Like, she's
- 25:03Speaker 6: the one that, yeah, yeah, you end up with. You're like,
- 25:05Speaker 6: I much prefer me and McKenzie.
- 25:08Speaker 3: She said, you didn't, Well, she didn't prefer me, and understandably,
- 25:14Speaker 3: so it was the British girl that you left at
- 25:17Speaker 3: the altar by the pool. I should say, oh, I
- 25:19Speaker 3: believe your name was Chiller. Yeah, Chiller man.
- 25:22Speaker 6: You had an attractive British nice girl named Chiller and
- 25:25Speaker 6: you went to work.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Is that right? Yeah? Your casual job. It's very important.
- 25:32Speaker 3: But I just wasn't that bright. Were you You were
- 25:36Speaker 3: going to ask me a question?
- 25:38Speaker 6: I was, so what is the show? And what time
- 25:41Speaker 6: is the air? I'll give you this the show name.
- 25:43Speaker 6: So are you fatter than a fat guy?
- 25:44Speaker 3: As when? Oh? Seven pm Wednesdays? Eight pm Wednesday's quest?
- 25:49Speaker 5: Enough?
- 25:50Speaker 3: Okay, I thought we were going to ask I'll ask
- 25:52Speaker 3: you about it. What time is Krusty? What is the
- 25:55Speaker 3: name of Crussy's late?
- 25:56Speaker 6: And I showing what times are not it's the last gasp,
- 25:58Speaker 6: the right last gasp. It's three three fifteen or three
- 26:02Speaker 6: forty five?
- 26:03Speaker 3: It's three thirty two, am idiot?
- 26:07Speaker 6: But yes, well hardly. It just feels like, yeah, very
- 26:10Speaker 6: We got channel thirty one here, which I don't think
- 26:12Speaker 6: exists anymore. Channel thirty one.
- 26:14Speaker 3: I don't think it does.
- 26:16Speaker 6: Maybe just the analog version doesn't, maybe the digital version does.
- 26:19Speaker 6: That sounds he's got to be some sort of like
- 26:21Speaker 6: station like that, you would hope, So, yeah, yeah, all right.
- 26:24Speaker 6: My next question then is Ron has been Crusty's agent
- 26:28Speaker 6: for how long Let's say thirty one years forty five,
- 26:31Speaker 6: which makes you wonder how old is Krusty.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Do they have Krusty's age on here? Because I don't believe,
- 26:35Speaker 3: so have a look Crusty clown age. Just have a look.
- 26:40Speaker 6: Shuming Rusty was in his twenties or thirties at the
- 26:42Speaker 6: time of his show's debut, that will place he's birth
- 26:43Speaker 6: in the nineteen thirties makes him anywhere between forty to
- 26:47Speaker 6: sixty at the time of the Simpsons premiere, So maybe
- 26:49Speaker 6: in his sixties.
- 26:50Speaker 3: I don't know. I'm assuming he's based on all these
- 26:52Speaker 3: bush bel comedians like me. You look at Rodney Dangerfield
- 26:55Speaker 3: for instance, it was impossible to how hold that man? Yeah,
- 26:59Speaker 3: when he was young? Were you born like forty five?
- 27:04Speaker 6: But it says he apparently in season twenty one they
- 27:05Speaker 6: say he's ages fifty two.
- 27:07Speaker 3: Whatever. Okay, Yeah, he's positively a spring chicken. Yes, your
- 27:11Speaker 3: nice question. My max question to you is, speaking of Krusty,
- 27:13Speaker 3: what was his horse in the two thousand and four
- 27:15Speaker 3: Belmont or it's gonn e. Sound is lasty? No, that's
- 27:20Speaker 3: in drama that we're going to be talking about a
- 27:24Speaker 3: bit later. But you're close. What is it? It's Smarty Jones,
- 27:28Speaker 3: Muddy Jones. Okay. My final question for you is what
- 27:30Speaker 3: number is Homer at the auction? Oh? Is he five?
- 27:35Speaker 3: He is thirteen? Okay? Why did I say five? I
- 27:38Speaker 3: don't know? Yeah, me, neither do. I am I asking
- 27:41Speaker 3: you one more? Did I start? I go for it?
- 27:44Speaker 3: I started, I think, but you can go for it?
- 27:45Speaker 3: All right?
- 27:46Speaker 5: Then?
- 27:46Speaker 3: Speaking of last gasp, Jimbo appears on the show, and
- 27:49Speaker 3: when he shows off his guns, who is disappointed? Who
- 27:53Speaker 3: should be feeling bad that she broke up with Jimbo?
- 27:56Speaker 3: I'm going to say, Cindy. It is Cindy, yes, all right?
- 27:59Speaker 3: Not not Christy Jordan. Not Christy Jordan. What a name?
- 28:02Speaker 3: Maybe Cindy Jo still will be a c J. But
- 28:05Speaker 3: Christy Jordan. What about Charlie Joe? Yeah, Charlie Joe. Yeah?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Speaking of we do, I hope you appreciate how I
- 28:22Speaker 3: did that. I like smooth in moving into that.
- 28:26Speaker 6: Do you love it when you accidentally create? Honestly, you
- 28:28Speaker 6: did that, But sometimes you create a segue in it's
- 28:30Speaker 6: an accident.
- 28:30Speaker 3: You're like, that was the perfect segue. I didn't never
- 28:33Speaker 3: mean it. I didn't really mean that.
- 28:37Speaker 6: Oh okay, they don't tell the people that. But we're
- 28:39Speaker 6: gonna be talking, of course about Katie G with her
- 28:42Speaker 6: one hundred dollars support. Thank you so much, Katy G. However,
- 28:45Speaker 6: we need to also give a shout out because Katyg's
- 28:47Speaker 6: not the only one hundred supporter now, she's the queen
- 28:50Speaker 6: of one hundred dollars supporters. We now have Zach Ligmas.
- 28:53Speaker 6: Zach Ligmas is now went from five dollars supporter to
- 28:56Speaker 6: one hundred dollars supporter.

- 29:21Speaker 3: very much, Zach, thank you very yes.

- 29:26Speaker 6: Thank you so much. Thank Andrew, Swany mcswaan and Zach Pruitt.
- 29:29Speaker 6: As always, also the following people are top two supporters.
- 29:31Speaker 6: You've already mentioned Charlie Joe's getting the second amension or
- 29:33Speaker 6: they could be a girl good be a guy. That's true. Also,
- 29:37Speaker 6: Dangan read in reverse just to really play with the people.
- 29:40Speaker 6: So we've got Damie Miller, Gavin Lange, Dave Pretzels McNally,
- 29:43Speaker 6: Joe Reading, Sec, James shepperd Logan, bj Josh Hallier not

- 30:10Speaker 6: I noticed, yeah, you were really because I say, it's
- 30:14Speaker 6: become sort of just second nature, and a couple of
- 30:16Speaker 6: times I went, don't say that.
- 30:20Speaker 3: Also, it probably should have said Pickle and Ginger. Oh yeah,
- 30:24Speaker 3: I should have said flood planned dental Kevin. Wow. I
- 30:28Speaker 3: read them all. So okay, here we go. Let's go,

- 31:13Speaker 6: a review of All about Lisa. The original edit of
- 31:16Speaker 6: the episode was May eighteenth, two thousand and eight production
- 31:18Speaker 6: code kab F one three guest Starr and Drew Carey.
- 31:22Speaker 6: The couch gag is the family straight onto a computer
- 31:24Speaker 6: screen and then I put into the recyclabin, which then
- 31:26Speaker 6: gets emptied. I don't think the recycled bin. Maybe I'm
- 31:30Speaker 6: not sure whether my settings are changed, but I always
- 31:34Speaker 6: love the satisfying sound of the emptying the recyclabin, just
- 31:37Speaker 6: like trash is getting thrown out right. Yeah, it doesn't
- 31:40Speaker 6: do that anymore on my computer anyway, and it annoys me.
- 31:42Speaker 6: I'm like, I want that sound of Yes, it's cleans
- 31:46Speaker 6: the cleansing sound.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Everyone loves a good cleanse. Yeah, everyone loves a good cleanse, indeed.
- 31:50Speaker 3: But the episode kicks off here with all about Lisa
- 31:53Speaker 3: at the thirty eighth Annual Showbiz Awards. So it's one
- 31:56Speaker 3: of those ones where they say something's happening, like, how
- 31:58Speaker 3: is this happening?
- 31:59Speaker 9: Let's take you back, Welcome to the thirty eighth Annual
- 32:02Speaker 9: Springfield show His Awards. There are more stars here tonight
- 32:05Speaker 9: than you can see in the sky thanks to light pollution.
- 32:08Speaker 9: Here comes the magnificently mammoried Mistress of Midnight Movie Mayhem Booberella,
- 32:13Speaker 9: the twins look happy tonight, and what are we here?
- 32:17Speaker 9: It's ventral of course, Arthur Crandell and his walnut wing.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Man, Gabbo. You get a job parasite.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Hi?
- 32:26Speaker 3: Hi, Arthur Crandell's there with Gabbo. Indeed he's gone yes. Yeah.
- 32:31Speaker 6: I was like, I wouldn't everyone remembers Gabbo, right, I
- 32:35Speaker 6: probably wouldn't mind another episode involving Gabbo.
- 32:38Speaker 3: I'm not too sure. Maybe he can work with Crusty.
- 32:40Speaker 3: I don't know. He left a fairly you know, potent legacy.
- 32:44Speaker 3: It's a tough one to follow up. I mean even
- 32:46Speaker 3: this brief appearance by Gamble was like, I wish you'd
- 32:48Speaker 3: given him a bit of zinger. Yeah, it was not much,
- 32:51Speaker 3: was it. I was waiting for something to happen and
- 32:53Speaker 3: nothing happened. Yeah, so there was a little bit of
- 32:55Speaker 3: a letdown. So if you're gonna bring Gabbo back, you know,
- 32:58Speaker 3: you come to the King you've been not miss.
- 33:00Speaker 6: Surprising is that Gabba isn't actually in the episode all
- 33:02Speaker 6: that much. Chriss it gets canceled. No, he's only in
- 33:05Speaker 6: it for a couple of scenes. But he's just so memorable,
- 33:08Speaker 6: such a gather like and we get a British actor
- 33:13Speaker 6: who they say is a parody of somebody but I
- 33:15Speaker 6: who wasn't meant to be.
- 33:16Speaker 3: Well, this whole, the whole setup about All About Lisa
- 33:20Speaker 3: is based on a movie from All.
- 33:23Speaker 6: That Eve, Yes, all that Yeah, let's talk about that? Yeah,
- 33:26Speaker 6: which is one is the brief synopsis of All About Eve,
- 33:29Speaker 6: not the story, just the brief Oh okay.
- 33:31Speaker 3: The hook famous stage actress has her life infiltrated by
- 33:39Speaker 3: a young fan who Maddie Davis Betty Davis plays the actresses,
- 33:45Speaker 3: She plays the actress. This young woman named Eve comes
- 33:48Speaker 3: into her life, says, I admire you so much. I
- 33:50Speaker 3: want to be an actress to but I just love
- 33:52Speaker 3: you so much and really want to help you and
- 33:53Speaker 3: be your assistant. All that She uses that to infiltrate
- 33:57Speaker 3: all manner of the actress's life and to become a
- 34:01Speaker 3: star herself. Yep, that's basically it.
- 34:03Speaker 6: Because Lisa didn't. That wasn't her intention beginning? Is that
- 34:07Speaker 6: not the same with the film. Also, her film Always Too,
- 34:09Speaker 6: I'm Going to Your Spotlight.
- 34:11Speaker 3: Yeah, even in the film is always there to rise
- 34:15Speaker 3: through the ranks by means fair and foul. Early role
- 34:18Speaker 3: for Marilyn Monroe. Okay, yeah, is she the fan? No? Okay,
- 34:24Speaker 3: I was actually so this whole but this whole bit
- 34:26Speaker 3: with the with the SiO Mel voice over. Yeah, is
- 34:29Speaker 3: that how the film goes? That's how nice? Okay. I
- 34:32Speaker 3: I'm actually gonna check it out. What's on the fifties
- 34:34Speaker 3: right it is? Yeah? Okay, I don't watch anywhere near
- 34:37Speaker 3: enough old films. Look, there were a lot that aren't
- 34:39Speaker 3: worth your time. Yeah. Still blows my mind that The
- 34:43Speaker 3: Wizard of Oz is made in the thirties. Oh, absolutely
- 34:45Speaker 3: incredible in that yeah, yeah, particularly when a lot of
- 34:48Speaker 3: people have got issues with this on social media. But
- 34:50Speaker 3: then people got a lot of issues on social media.
- 34:52Speaker 3: They're looking at screen caps from Wicked, you know, the
- 34:57Speaker 3: of the stage music coming up, and I was like,
- 35:01Speaker 3: why does this look so bland? You know, we're in
- 35:04Speaker 3: the year twenty twenty four. We should be able to
- 35:06Speaker 3: make things big and brightening gloomy neck yeah, I mean,
- 35:10Speaker 3: or it just looks a bit faded. And then you know,
- 35:13Speaker 3: they'll put up screencaps of you know, the Wizard of
- 35:16Speaker 3: Us from nineteen thirty nine. It's like popping there, technicallor
- 35:19Speaker 3: it is like holy shit, this looks incredible. It's like
- 35:21Speaker 3: where didn't Wicked look like this?
- 35:23Speaker 6: Yeah, I'll actually a story which will get too late,
- 35:25Speaker 6: about the Wizard of Oz which I was talking to
- 35:27Speaker 6: that as you call the patron Saint of Darn on
- 35:30Speaker 6: our way to the John Williams show.
- 35:31Speaker 3: Yes with that in the moment. But what were we
- 35:34Speaker 3: talking about so all about Eve? Yes, and we're getting
- 35:36Speaker 3: voice yeah, we're getting voice yes from from Sarcho Mel. Yeah,
- 35:41Speaker 3: much as there is a narration from a central character
- 35:44Speaker 3: in All about Eve. Now, I must admit I've got
- 35:47Speaker 3: thirty seconds in and this male narration is some pretty
- 35:50Speaker 3: rough sledding. I don't know how much more I can
- 35:52Speaker 3: take of this. Unfortunately much I think the show realized, like, yeah,
- 35:56Speaker 3: a little mel goes a long way. Yeah, let's use
- 35:59Speaker 3: it to steer it away in and use it sparingly,
- 36:02Speaker 3: as we said. And yeah, it has a really good
- 36:04Speaker 3: payer at the end. But we'll get to that when
- 36:05Speaker 3: we get to that.
- 36:05Speaker 6: But yeah, that's a good example too of the Simpsons
- 36:08Speaker 6: doing a parody of something without having to have seen
- 36:11Speaker 6: the source material to get it. Also, having a discussion
- 36:14Speaker 6: recently with our Pale Radio Mike Right and he loved
- 36:18Speaker 6: the second episode of season thirty six, White Lotus or
- 36:23Speaker 6: Yellow Lotuses playing White Lotus. I watched it as someone
- 36:26Speaker 6: who hasn't seen White Lotus and got about ten minutes
- 36:29Speaker 6: in and turns it off, going, I don't know what's
- 36:31Speaker 6: going on here. I understand you're referencing something, but you
- 36:35Speaker 6: should be able to make this entertaining without having to
- 36:36Speaker 6: seen the source material. But I don't get the jokes
- 36:39Speaker 6: because the jokes are all It happened.
- 36:41Speaker 3: Too specific to the White Loadus as opposed to and
- 36:45Speaker 3: there's a show called the White Loaders. It's about a resort. Yeah,
- 36:49Speaker 3: the tone is kind of this, but we're going to
- 36:51Speaker 3: do with Simpson's episode.
- 36:52Speaker 6: It was reminded me of that reminded me of when
- 36:55Speaker 6: they do the trilogy episodes and it's just re enacting
- 36:57Speaker 6: that story. But since his character and I go, I
- 37:00Speaker 6: don't get any of these jokes that haven't seen the show.
- 37:02Speaker 6: This is what they used to do. This isn't classic era,
- 37:04Speaker 6: but classic era of Simpsons. What they did best was
- 37:07Speaker 6: they would guess source material, simpsonize it still make it entertaining,
- 37:10Speaker 6: but if you knew the source material, you enjoyed even more.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, it's an extra yeah, slice of cheese in
- 37:15Speaker 3: you because I didn't know about all about Even. Now,
- 37:17Speaker 3: if you knew all about Even, you watches you go,
- 37:18Speaker 3: oh that's that's all. That's clever and well done. Yeah, good,
- 37:21Speaker 3: good on you. But yeah, you.
- 37:22Speaker 6: Don't have to didn't have to know it. And that's
- 37:24Speaker 6: the difference now, like that when they're doing these parodies. Now,
- 37:27Speaker 6: the parodies aren't funny unless you've seen the source material.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Well, it's a difference between and look, there's a long
- 37:34Speaker 3: gap between these movies. But say this gap between Flying
- 37:38Speaker 3: High and say Top Secret, you know, yeah, those parody
- 37:40Speaker 3: and say the scary movie movies, which are just a
- 37:43Speaker 3: bit too This was in that movie, do you remember it?
- 37:46Speaker 3: Whereas saying Flying High, Top Secret, Yeah, this is in
- 37:49Speaker 3: that movie. But it's also just funny. It's a gag
- 37:51Speaker 3: on top of that, it's not just like does this
- 37:54Speaker 3: remind you of this thing? Yeah? So yeah, So it's
- 37:58Speaker 3: a bit like I've watched Deadpool and Wolverine on the weekend,
- 38:01Speaker 3: so I haven't watched it. I saw there waiting to
- 38:03Speaker 3: be watched. Yeah, I'm not a superhero guy, and I
- 38:09Speaker 3: get that I am in the minority when I say that, right,
- 38:12Speaker 3: so I would know I'm going to watch this and
- 38:13Speaker 3: I probably won't care about all of the cameos and
- 38:15Speaker 3: stuff that other people will care. I'm just I'm just
- 38:18Speaker 3: not in the target demo. Oh yeah, it's funny. The
- 38:21Speaker 3: guys on red Ltar Media one of my favorite sides.
- 38:24Speaker 6: You always say one of my favorites. I hope you
- 38:27Speaker 6: they are one of my favorites. I wanted to make
- 38:29Speaker 6: them known aware of this. They were doing their review
- 38:34Speaker 6: and Jay on the show said, if you didn't know
- 38:37Speaker 6: anything about not just superhero movies, but also all the
- 38:42Speaker 6: behind the scenes stuff, yeah, that's the thing.
- 38:44Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, you would be watching this going what the
- 38:46Speaker 3: fuck is all this about? Yeah? And it's a movie
- 38:49Speaker 3: for the fans, Yeah, very much. I can't believe it.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I mean, I can believe it's made a billion dollars.
- 38:54Speaker 3: But at the same time, why, because they've just got
- 38:56Speaker 3: marketed really well.
- 38:57Speaker 6: It really did to the point where I thought, I'm like, wait,
- 39:00Speaker 6: the movie hasn't come out yet. I'm like, we're been
- 39:02Speaker 6: saying shit about this movie for like six months.
- 39:06Speaker 3: It was fine. Jacklan's really good and the feud of
- 39:10Speaker 3: Ryan Reynolds continues, you don't like Ryan reydlds. Yeah, I
- 39:14Speaker 3: like him fine, And I can't begrudge him getting the bag,
- 39:17Speaker 3: as they say, because and I say this is lit
- 39:21Speaker 3: due respect to someone who's married to Blake Lively and
- 39:23Speaker 3: worth three billion bucks. He just doesn't have a lot
- 39:25Speaker 3: of range. He doesn't need it, I guess. But I
- 39:28Speaker 3: think he's found his lane and he's really just speeding
- 39:31Speaker 3: down that he's.
- 39:33Speaker 6: Just playing Berg from two Guys going to pizza place.
- 39:35Speaker 6: That's literally his character pretty much.
- 39:37Speaker 3: I mean, you look at what Hugh Jackman's doing in
- 39:39Speaker 3: dep Blul and Wolver and it's like, Wow, you're giving
- 39:40Speaker 3: a legitimate performance here, and when Ryan Reynolds sort of
- 39:44Speaker 3: has to try and do the same thing, it's like
- 39:47Speaker 3: you're not quite up to it. I mean, you're really
- 39:49Speaker 3: good at what you do. You've got terrific comic timing. Admittedly,
- 39:52Speaker 3: it's kind of just the few notes that you play
- 39:54Speaker 3: over and over again and you seem to do what
- 39:57Speaker 3: people like.
- 39:58Speaker 6: But yeah, I've just realized. So I'm posting the Patriot
- 40:03Speaker 6: group last night about how we're watching House and but
- 40:05Speaker 6: it's not huge fans of House because he's just when
- 40:07Speaker 6: you Binge watch House. He's overbearing and annoying because he's
- 40:10Speaker 6: just rude to everybody all the time. Right, I feel
- 40:13Speaker 6: like Ryan Reynolds is a young house in a sense
- 40:17Speaker 6: that every response is a smart ass quip. I just
- 40:21Speaker 6: realized Burg and two guys a going to pizza place
- 40:23Speaker 6: is just house younger and not as mean.
- 40:28Speaker 3: But you know, if you if you've got a good
- 40:31Speaker 3: trick and people and people are willing to walk out
- 40:34Speaker 3: the money for it, you'd be foolish not to take it.
- 40:37Speaker 6: Oh yeah, and it's very you know what it is too.
- 40:40Speaker 6: It's at the right time because every superhero movie is
- 40:43Speaker 6: dark and gloomy, and it's just people are losing interest.
- 40:46Speaker 6: But they know what they're doing. They're doing it well.
- 40:49Speaker 6: But anyway, this episode here, So I did read some reviews,
- 40:51Speaker 6: though I was surprised and then not surprised, a lot
- 40:54Speaker 6: of negative reviews for this episode, right, and the negativity
- 40:57Speaker 6: is stemmed from people saying it's just a rip off
- 41:00Speaker 6: of Bart gets Famous, which I've already.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Done, which is there. I didn't do it, boy, I
- 41:04Speaker 3: didn't do it. It isn't isn't.
- 41:06Speaker 6: The setup is very similar in the sense that Bart
- 41:09Speaker 6: becomes the assistant who then gets thrown to the spotlight.
- 41:12Speaker 6: Lisa is very similar, but once we get to that point,
- 41:15Speaker 6: the stories are very different.
- 41:16Speaker 3: Oh yeah, Krusty uses.
- 41:17Speaker 6: Bart once he realizes he's not famous anymore, he just
- 41:19Speaker 6: throws him away because he's stale. This one here is Lisa.
- 41:23Speaker 6: And I think a lot of people who who say
- 41:26Speaker 6: the negative things about this episode probably don't know about
- 41:28Speaker 6: all about Eve or to understand that it's taking the
- 41:30Speaker 6: mickey out of that story. It becomes Lisa stealing Crusty's
- 41:33Speaker 6: long light limelight deliberately.
- 41:35Speaker 3: Completely two different stories. Oh yeah, And I mean, I
- 41:39Speaker 3: think you have to realize, and it's been shown throughout
- 41:42Speaker 3: episodes that we've seen up until now, that you know, well,
- 41:44Speaker 3: Lisa's a performer and she likes you know, she's a musician.
- 41:48Speaker 3: You may say, oh, I'm an artist and all this
- 41:49Speaker 3: kind of stuff, but you know, I don't think he
- 41:51Speaker 3: necessarily play music or whatever just for yourself. I think
- 41:55Speaker 3: you usually want to do it in front of it all,
- 41:57Speaker 3: and I think you do want a little bit of validation,
- 41:59Speaker 3: a little bit of recognition. And he says that I'm
- 42:00Speaker 3: doing it for the money. Is a liar, that's all
- 42:03Speaker 3: the attention. Attention, yeah, not necessary money attention, yes, but
- 42:07Speaker 3: the money will be nice, yes.
- 42:08Speaker 6: But I feel like in Bark, it's famous, but very
- 42:11Speaker 6: quickly gets sick of being famous.
- 42:12Speaker 5: You know.
- 42:13Speaker 6: He shows like I'm more than this, and one's like
- 42:16Speaker 6: we don't care, we just want the one. I didn't
- 42:18Speaker 6: do it right, but at least is like anything. If
- 42:20Speaker 6: you're giving me attention, I'm soaking it up.
- 42:22Speaker 3: Oh yeah, well goes back to our power. Ryan Realms,
- 42:24Speaker 3: who tried to break out and do different things, tried
- 42:27Speaker 3: to do very dramatic role. Yeah, Ury digit movie still
- 42:31Speaker 3: haunts me. A movie yeh. Did a few movies that
- 42:36Speaker 3: are sort of you know, low budget black comedies and
- 42:38Speaker 3: Waiting was he Waiting? It was in Waiting, which is
- 42:40Speaker 3: just like, yeah, that's just a comedy. He's really good
- 42:42Speaker 3: in a movie called a denture Land, which I okay,
- 42:45Speaker 3: check out another one called Mississippi Grind, which is playing.
- 42:48Speaker 3: It's like it's very much like the Adam Sandler thing,
- 42:51Speaker 3: which is almost like the Clin Eastwood thing, which is
- 42:52Speaker 3: like a lot of actors thing. It's like, you people
- 42:55Speaker 3: have got a very narrow set of skills. There's not
- 42:58Speaker 3: a lot of actors who have got huge range. But
- 43:01Speaker 3: if you, if you're smart, like you work with people like, oh, okay,
- 43:05Speaker 3: you've got this particular set of skills, I'm going to
- 43:06Speaker 3: turn the dars slightly in this direction and it's going
- 43:09Speaker 3: to be perceived in a wholely different way. Or I'm
- 43:10Speaker 3: going to surround you with people that you would not
- 43:13Speaker 3: normally be a soocio with and people are going to
- 43:15Speaker 3: see you in a different way as a result of that.
- 43:17Speaker 3: And Fresh Prince was very much that where no, no,
- 43:20Speaker 3: that was really that was just really playing to his skills. Yeah,
- 43:25Speaker 3: whereas something like Ali, which Will Smith was like, oh
- 43:28Speaker 3: the confidence and the bravado that Will Smith has, Yeah,
- 43:32Speaker 3: we can use that to Yeah, he's not a dead
- 43:34Speaker 3: ringer for Ali, but he's similar enough in that regard.
- 43:37Speaker 3: So yeah, I think Ryan Reyland's Yeah, in his best
- 43:41Speaker 3: roles in there's movies like Eventual landa Mississipi Grime, it's like,
- 43:44Speaker 3: oh you were You're kind of a smarmy guy. You're
- 43:46Speaker 3: very likable, but I don't know if I can trust you.
- 43:48Speaker 3: You know, and you're always going to have a quip.
- 43:50Speaker 3: Let's use that as oh you are you're a guy
- 43:53Speaker 3: who actually can't be trusted, you're kind of a dirt bag,
- 43:55Speaker 3: or I want to I want to see him pay
- 43:57Speaker 3: more villains. Yeah, well, yeah, check out these two movies.
- 43:59Speaker 3: They're both really good. And yeah, but occasionally, like Sanley
- 44:03Speaker 3: just sort of go back and say a bit YoY YoY. Yeah,
- 44:09Speaker 3: I've forgotten the name of the person that was asking, guys,
- 44:10Speaker 3: when you do that, why do you do that? Yeah? Yeah,
- 44:13Speaker 3: I gave him a link to a thing from the
- 44:16Speaker 3: SNL twenty fifth anniversary special.
- 44:18Speaker 6: I forget that I'm getting old in the sense that
- 44:20Speaker 6: I just assume everyone who knows Adam Sand just knows
- 44:23Speaker 6: he is. That It's like, well, he hasn't really been
- 44:26Speaker 6: that guy since like maybe the early two thousand at
- 44:28Speaker 6: the latest, right, but he still does that sound in movies.
- 44:32Speaker 6: But he was known Billy Madison, have you gime with
- 44:33Speaker 6: you yet? And that was that was the thing on SNL.
- 44:36Speaker 6: But now, like the kids, they are literally kids now
- 44:39Speaker 6: who are twenty five or whatever, twenty.
- 44:42Speaker 3: We'll probably grow up watching Hotel trends of veiny or
- 44:44Speaker 3: something like that. That's Adam Sand Like, I'll never never forget.
- 44:47Speaker 3: We're driving home from like we're to the chocolate chocolate tear.
- 44:50Speaker 3: How do you say chocolate the chocolate place on chocolate
- 44:53Speaker 3: tan chocolate tier. Yes, we've won on Nicholas friends from
- 44:55Speaker 3: work and she was twenty one and she her the
- 45:00Speaker 3: thing was fresh Prince something that was like her username
- 45:03Speaker 3: on Instagram or whatever. And then we put on Will
- 45:05Speaker 3: Smith's Wilisch one was no note, what's that? Gettingjiggy with it?
- 45:09Speaker 6: And she goes, oh, Will Smith sings and I was like, wait,
- 45:12Speaker 6: what do you think fresh Princes? She goes, oh, that's
- 45:15Speaker 6: just isn't he just an actor?
- 45:16Speaker 3: I'm like, wow, what what? I was like, the Fresh Prince.
- 45:22Speaker 3: She's like, yeah, he's the actor in that. I was like, yeah,
- 45:24Speaker 3: but he sings sings what I'm like, what do you mean?
- 45:27Speaker 3: Oh no, he's multi down, he acts, he sings, he
- 45:32Speaker 3: slaps cross rock. I'm like he sang before he acted. Yeap, will'sman,
- 45:38Speaker 3: get Fresh Prince out of your fucking whatever it is.
- 45:41Speaker 3: I was like, how do you have fresh Princes your user? David?
- 45:43Speaker 6: You don't, Oh that's our old Maybe he's so sad,
- 45:46Speaker 6: but you know it didn't make me sad this episode.
- 45:48Speaker 6: So anyway, so we were talking about the all about
- 45:50Speaker 6: even the but I thought there was similarities there with
- 45:53Speaker 6: black It's famous, but also a lot of differences. Correct, Yes, yeah,
- 45:56Speaker 6: because people in the town.
- 45:57Speaker 3: I listened. I listened to a couple of other podcast reviews.
- 45:59Speaker 3: I'm just a sense of what they were.
- 46:00Speaker 8: Like.
- 46:00Speaker 3: They were an other podcast talking about the simptoms.
- 46:02Speaker 6: Yeah, and this one was just like, oh, it was
- 46:04Speaker 6: like putting tape around your eyes or like a cell
- 46:08Speaker 6: fan of your eyes and it all being blurry like this.
- 46:10Speaker 6: This this episode offered nothing. It was no substance. It
- 46:13Speaker 6: was bland. It was just a complete rip off a
- 46:15Speaker 6: buckets famous and I was like, Holy Moses, you shouldn't
- 46:18Speaker 6: do a podcast about Simpsons.
- 46:18Speaker 3: You're very negative. When when negative but usually deserves it,
- 46:23Speaker 3: it's like quite positive. Yeah, when home is living margin
- 46:25Speaker 3: and the driver's out of his car. Yeah.
- 46:27Speaker 6: So basically, the episode kicks off with the fifth episode
- 46:31Speaker 6: and we've had side show Mal and he's doing the
- 46:33Speaker 6: narration and he's basically saying here that we're going to
- 46:35Speaker 6: tell you now how Lisa got to this point of
- 46:37Speaker 6: winning Entertainer of the Year. We've only just started the episode,
- 46:40Speaker 6: haven't we.
- 46:41Speaker 3: Oh my god, looking over the farm, we've been rapping on.
- 46:50Speaker 6: Side show is going through like the nor Him nor
- 46:53Speaker 6: Him nor Ham. Spider Peak makes a reference. It's all
- 46:56Speaker 6: about Lisa, and she wins the award, and then we
- 46:59Speaker 6: got back to let me tell you how she got
- 47:00Speaker 6: to hear and it's crust his four thousandth episode and
- 47:03Speaker 6: he's celebrating Drew Carrey's there, not really much of a
- 47:05Speaker 6: Guesst appearance, just to say that we've got Drew carry on.
- 47:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think you're more of a Drew
- 47:10Speaker 3: Carey fan than I am. But it seemed I don't
- 47:12Speaker 3: know if this is indicative of Drew's style in general,
- 47:15Speaker 3: but it seemed a little low energy.
- 47:17Speaker 6: It didn't seem Yeah, it kind of felt like if
- 47:19Speaker 6: you someone said to you this was someone playing Drew
- 47:22Speaker 6: and taking the mickey, you'd kind of believe it. Yeah,
- 47:25Speaker 6: it wasn't really much to it was there. No, but
- 47:27Speaker 6: he's just taking the mickey out of Crusty here, and
- 47:30Speaker 6: we get a clip of the Krusketeers and then they've
- 47:33Speaker 6: the non successful Kruskteer's returned for the special. You've got
- 47:37Speaker 6: Jesse who has his shoulder cgsus calling around and should
- 47:40Speaker 6: say Christy Johnson, Christy Jordan was crawling around on all
- 47:44Speaker 6: fours and keep that dearself and covery here has owed
- 47:49Speaker 6: money hard time for you, Krusty. Then they're searching for
- 47:54Speaker 6: the new Kruskeeteer, and basically he says, I'll sign you
- 47:58Speaker 6: up as long as it's got you, gonna sign the
- 47:59Speaker 6: country twenty year personal services with nine to nine percent
- 48:02Speaker 6: of your earnings going to Krusty. But Millhouse here hope
- 48:04Speaker 6: each other get it. Well, Bart hopes he gets it
- 48:07Speaker 6: for a brief moment here for a second hepe Millhouse
- 48:09Speaker 6: got it. Then we have the auditions and Krusty is
- 48:11Speaker 6: four hours later. Now he says, that's the it of
- 48:14Speaker 6: being successful with each other time.
- 48:16Speaker 3: Yeah. Then Nelson is doing took a Little Star.
- 48:20Speaker 6: I think it's all that that That tune is for
- 48:23Speaker 6: a lot of nursery rhymes dirt with the nerds, smash
- 48:26Speaker 6: him on the head and whatnot, giving a wigie and
- 48:28Speaker 6: Bart is very good. Bart's doing some I like one,
- 48:31Speaker 6: but it's actually good at something, you know what I mean.
- 48:33Speaker 3: He's doing some really good impressions.
- 48:34Speaker 6: Yeah, so he's got the light becomes a lantern fish,
- 48:36Speaker 6: the Jack of lentin Et. Then what's b e t
- 48:39Speaker 6: I'm sorry.
- 48:40Speaker 3: BT stands for I believe it stands for Black Entertainment Television.
- 48:44Speaker 3: Really there, Okay, so it's a network, yeah, which is
- 48:48Speaker 3: primarily African American probably one. Yes, Okay, there we go.
- 48:53Speaker 6: I was like, I'm sure it's something because they well
- 48:56Speaker 6: everyone seemed to enjoy it there, all the white folks
- 48:58Speaker 6: in the crowd anyway.
- 48:58Speaker 8: So.
- 49:00Speaker 3: My sons are good for something.
- 49:02Speaker 6: But unfortunately Krusty doesn't name but as the successor as
- 49:05Speaker 6: the next crosser tier, it is Nelson because who's she
- 49:08Speaker 6: sign's name?
- 49:10Speaker 3: Old mother? Oh yeah, that was yeah, way to go, missus.
- 49:13Speaker 3: Mund's going extra mile. Yeah, I loot that. That's your attitude.
- 49:18Speaker 3: It's like to speak of something, well, don't you do
- 49:21Speaker 3: what you gotta do?
- 49:23Speaker 10: Well?
- 49:23Speaker 3: I like that would not not yeah, especially subtle about it,
- 49:27Speaker 3: but I like it. I'm doing up the butt. It's like, oh,
- 49:29Speaker 3: we know what's gone on in the dressing room.
- 49:30Speaker 6: Yeah, Lisa says that's not fair, though she's she's just
- 49:32Speaker 6: hiring both of them. You know, you can call bart.
- 49:34Speaker 6: You in turn opened up a whole new world of
- 49:36Speaker 6: free labor, much like Discovery Channel. Apparently you've got no employees.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Was that a thing. I guess it must have been.
- 49:40Speaker 3: I don't know who knows.
- 49:43Speaker 4: Hey, Kirsty, you're making a huge mistake not hiring my brother.
- 49:46Speaker 4: Why didn't you hire them both? It won't cost you anything.
- 49:49Speaker 4: You could call bid an intern. In fact, the intern
- 49:52Speaker 4: thing could open up a whole new world, a free
- 49:55Speaker 4: labor for you. Did you know the Discovery Channel doesn't
- 49:57Speaker 4: have a single paid employee.
- 50:00Speaker 1: Okay, kid, you've convinced me.
- 50:02Speaker 2: To make money. Chriskey's here.
- 50:04Speaker 1: Well, no, to make you my new intern.
- 50:06Speaker 7: You're a real go getter.
- 50:08Speaker 1: They'll go get me my dry cleaning, which is my
- 50:10Speaker 1: code word for scotch, and give me my scotch, which
- 50:13Speaker 1: is my code word for my bookie. Also go get
- 50:15Speaker 1: my dry cleaning.
- 50:16Speaker 2: What but why, why?
- 50:18Speaker 7: Why but what are you standing around for?
- 50:20Speaker 1: I wish I was paying you so I could dock
- 50:22Speaker 1: your salary.
- 50:24Speaker 3: This seems to run counter to Lisa's whole social justice thing.
- 50:29Speaker 6: I don't think Lisa's been very Lisa ished the last
- 50:33Speaker 6: season few episodes at least. Anyway, Remember Mona leaves her
- 50:36Speaker 6: when she was saying, ah, Grandma'll be fine.
- 50:38Speaker 3: We just dump her.
- 50:39Speaker 6: Ashes here, and I'm like, that's and she stole the
- 50:42Speaker 6: necklace off a nightstand and stuff.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Remember was that necklace? Yeah, no, it was ear rings.
- 50:47Speaker 3: Ear rings it yeah, that's what they used for the flame. Yeah.
- 50:50Speaker 3: But this is just classic crusty hell, like the dry cleaning,
- 50:52Speaker 3: which is Scotch for the bookie for the dry cleaning.
- 50:56Speaker 3: But I wish she said something. Remember, I wish I could.
- 50:59Speaker 3: I wish I was paying. He's like a duck your salary.
- 51:01Speaker 6: Then Mal narrates again and he talks about how this
- 51:04Speaker 6: is called show business, and it is the business, as
- 51:06Speaker 6: you'll find out in three two one commercial break. We
- 51:09Speaker 6: come back and Krusty is giving instructions to Lisa once again.
- 51:13Speaker 6: We mentioned earlier the cancelor one o'clock whatnot changed Sophie
- 51:16Speaker 6: Lorentze to Lindsay Lohan in all of his gags. So
- 51:19Speaker 6: it's very much comedy, isn't it. The gag works for everybody.
- 51:22Speaker 6: He's got to replace the name absolutely, Lindsay Lohan. She
- 51:25Speaker 6: was she was another one we're talking about off the air,
- 51:28Speaker 6: just young kids just getting thrown to the spotlight and not.
- 51:31Speaker 3: Looked after him. Oh yeah, and then and then mocked.
- 51:34Speaker 3: And it was like they pushed and pushed and pushed
- 51:37Speaker 3: her and then said, look how crazy she is. Let's
- 51:39Speaker 3: focus on that. And it's like she needed help. She's
- 51:41Speaker 3: making a comeback now, yeah she is. Well, she's done
- 51:43Speaker 3: in some romantic comedy on Netflix apparently, and she's just
- 51:48Speaker 3: filmed Freakier. Yeah, okay, Jemie Lee Curtis alongside Jamis. I
- 51:54Speaker 3: love jemis Lee Curtis. She's fantastic. Is there anyone that
- 51:56Speaker 3: doesn't like Jamie Lee Curtis? If there are putting other dukes?
- 52:02Speaker 6: Nelson's warming up though, doing a flash dance parody here,
- 52:05Speaker 6: and then he gets fired. Why does he get fired?
- 52:07Speaker 6: I think it's just something irrational from Crusty.
- 52:09Speaker 3: Well, he looks at Crusty in the eyes, isn't he
- 52:11Speaker 3: looks and.
- 52:12Speaker 6: He says something I'm preparing on warming up. You're saying
- 52:15Speaker 6: that I'm not aning like that.
- 52:16Speaker 3: Yeah, well that's yeah, that's something that all about Eve
- 52:20Speaker 3: sort of focuses on as well, the very fragile artistic temperament,
- 52:25Speaker 3: and anything can be an imagined or perceived slight. Yeah,
- 52:29Speaker 3: even if you're sort of trying to be positive but
- 52:30Speaker 3: like working, is it the fear of just like everyone's
- 52:34Speaker 3: judging you? Oh yeah, looking pasta syndrome, or the feeling
- 52:38Speaker 3: that your talent or your repeat is fading, all that
- 52:40Speaker 3: kind of stuff. Yeah, we all feel it. We all
- 52:43Speaker 3: do feel it. Indeed, yes, But he says, my mom says,
- 52:45Speaker 3: you're selfish. Love. I love this line. I know what
- 52:47Speaker 3: I want and I get it. Despicable, but yeah, I
- 52:54Speaker 3: know what I want and I get it. But he
- 52:56Speaker 3: threatens to destroy Nelson, And I'm just reminded forgot I heard,
- 53:01Speaker 3: but just cracked me up. Where I know some awful
- 53:05Speaker 3: teen sex comedy or whatever someone dropped their pants and like,
- 53:07Speaker 3: who are you gonna please with that? Blokes with me?
- 53:14Speaker 6: But he threates to destroy Nelson in his memoirs and
- 53:17Speaker 6: then offers to help Lisa the suggestion of if he
- 53:21Speaker 6: says something at Mitzi Gainner, love of God, pretend do
- 53:23Speaker 6: you know who she was?
- 53:24Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, very timely. She not time that she's passed away.
- 53:28Speaker 3: Its tragedy, tragedy, It's an incredible cowinkydinkin what a good name?
- 53:35Speaker 6: Krusty needs flosto for his pastrami, and Lisa comes to
- 53:39Speaker 6: save the day with a what would it be? This
- 53:40Speaker 6: the string from the place? Yeah, and she said, He
- 53:44Speaker 6: says you're the best thing to this business since Mitzy Gainer.
- 53:46Speaker 6: I was gonna say, Chip Korean animation, Okay, no, but
- 53:50Speaker 6: still can't believe that he wasn't the one who got
- 53:51Speaker 6: it and Lisa was. And what I did also like
- 53:54Speaker 6: about this was they could have very easily created a
- 53:56Speaker 6: situation much like Summer of four foot two where Bark
- 54:00Speaker 6: is jealous and tries to Sabotago and they don't go
- 54:03Speaker 6: down that path, which is good.
- 54:05Speaker 7: All right, Jemming girl trouble, you better go talk to him.
- 54:08Speaker 7: It's clown trouble.
- 54:09Speaker 2: That's your responsibility.
- 54:11Speaker 7: I thought I was in charge of bed James stories
- 54:13Speaker 7: and pitch dying.
- 54:14Speaker 10: Yeah well, and clowns oh fine, but you just bought
- 54:19Speaker 10: yourself ear piercing and strange new feelings.
- 54:21Speaker 6: Fine, and then goes to, uh, look look after Bark
- 54:26Speaker 6: suggest getting rid of all of his crusty motion, does
- 54:28Speaker 6: to and forget about it. Maybe even give less of
- 54:30Speaker 6: your room because there's this crusty stuff everywhere. They go
- 54:32Speaker 6: to the comic book store and they're going to trade
- 54:35Speaker 6: in all this crusty stuff. He wants that radioated man
- 54:38Speaker 6: versus hummad Ali, which was a real coiqu there's some Superman.
- 54:40Speaker 3: There was a Superman versus Mhammed al A, Yeah, that's insane,
- 54:43Speaker 3: and the other one was like Kansas City some team. Yeah.
- 54:46Speaker 6: Anyway, but he suggests maybe you do coin collecting instead
- 54:49Speaker 6: and bus on interesting. He goes, O, come back, I'll
- 54:51Speaker 6: offer you a bus in ten year quarter. And my man'scrunchy.
- 54:54Speaker 6: Didn't really get the hair, No, I either, sort of,
- 54:57Speaker 6: it's a bit, yeah, it's a bit.
- 54:58Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 54:59Speaker 6: Lisa's now tidy us dressing room, alphabetize all of his books,
- 55:02Speaker 6: which are two books, the Almanac and the Yellow Pages Almanac.
- 55:05Speaker 3: That's like all the data about bookies and stuff. Would
- 55:07Speaker 3: it be I think it can be just about any anything, yeah, yeah,
- 55:12Speaker 3: and the Yellow Pages. Yeah.
- 55:13Speaker 6: He's going to call her the goy Wonder, but then
- 55:17Speaker 6: thinks that coin collecting sucks, and Homo says that that's
- 55:19Speaker 6: just that's just hobbies, mate, hobbies. Yeah, but you wan
- 55:21Speaker 6: to kill some precious way to kill precious time. Yes,
- 55:23Speaker 6: it's really sort of put things into perspectives.
- 55:25Speaker 3: Yeah it does.
- 55:26Speaker 6: Yeah, I spent all my time buying these things and
- 55:29Speaker 6: chasing these things for what.
- 55:32Speaker 3: This is money that could have gone into my suba.
- 55:35Speaker 6: But they turned to something fun to your mother's purse
- 55:37Speaker 6: and a little montages and collecting coins. So they steal
- 55:40Speaker 6: the pennies out of the penny jar. At the quickie
- 55:42Speaker 6: marchin we get the fake toll booth, and then the
- 55:44Speaker 6: hiding in the bottom of a wishing well. Then the
- 55:47Speaker 6: Leprechorn arrives. I've never really got the Leprecorn, never really
- 55:50Speaker 6: liked it. It just feels to me like Dan's just
- 55:53Speaker 6: done an impersonation of lever Corn. This is hilarious. Let's
- 55:56Speaker 6: just kill Let's kill twenty seconds. Yeah, so they they
- 56:00Speaker 6: they cement him in and they just put a cement
- 56:02Speaker 6: over the top.
- 56:03Speaker 3: Yeah, they lock him in there like The Ring. Yes,
- 56:05Speaker 3: oh yeah, terrifying And now on four K you're gonna
- 56:08Speaker 3: pick it up soon? Oh really? Yeah, Okay, I've not
- 56:10Speaker 3: watched it.
- 56:11Speaker 6: That was one of those films did a great job
- 56:14Speaker 6: of have you seen the Ring yet?
- 56:16Speaker 3: Got Have you seen The Ring? When I was I
- 56:18Speaker 3: would have been when it came out in two thousand
- 56:19Speaker 3: and two, so I would have been fourteen ish. Yeah.
- 56:23Speaker 3: Perfect days for every party is like we're gonna watch
- 56:25Speaker 3: The Ring and I was like, no, I can't watch it.
- 56:28Speaker 3: Perfect perfect movie. But yeah, like as I always say
- 56:31Speaker 3: Baby's first horror movie, because it's like, yeah, this one's
- 56:33Speaker 3: legitimately scary, but not too gross or gruesome glory really yeah,
- 56:38Speaker 3: is it gory? Oh it's got some bits so it's like,
- 56:40Speaker 3: oh my god, look at it. You get screwed up. Yeah,
- 56:42Speaker 3: but it's not like stabbing, No, that kind of like terrified,
- 56:45Speaker 3: kind of. I think the most gruesome bit is spoilers
- 56:47Speaker 3: with the Ring.
- 56:48Speaker 6: When the oh yeah, someone was furious that you spoiled
- 56:51Speaker 6: something ry Buffy about the Buffy's mother.
- 56:55Speaker 3: I did say spoiler that after oh oh, is that
- 57:01Speaker 3: how that works? I'm not going to spoil it from
- 57:03Speaker 3: the Ring. Just watch a good movie. Does spoil the Ring? Yea.
- 57:06Speaker 3: Let's go out and BUYE and four K and then
- 57:07Speaker 3: support media. Buy two copies, send one to your pals,
- 57:11Speaker 3: Buy two copies, keep one in the packaging so you
- 57:12Speaker 3: can look at it and when you play, okay, buy

- 57:20Speaker 3: did it? That would have been great.
- 57:22Speaker 6: Yeah, imagine the packaging on that on the ring, imagine
- 57:25Speaker 6: opening imagine that. Yeah, imagining you writing the little story
- 57:29Speaker 6: inside the booklet, that would be great. That's what guy
- 57:32Speaker 6: does now he writes for Umbrella.
- 57:34Speaker 3: Yeah, but we'll talk about that on an other show. Yes,
- 57:37Speaker 3: but maybe on videos. Will we guarde you about what

- 58:15Speaker 6: description of this podcast, but basically, lock the Lepricorn down
- 58:20Speaker 6: in the well and they need just one more out
- 58:22Speaker 6: for the collection. They thought they had the collection, but
- 58:24Speaker 6: no little thing comes up and it's the kissing Lincolns.
- 58:27Speaker 3: I like it. It's a real thing too. This is
- 58:29Speaker 3: what this wasn't just made up, right, I believe so
- 58:32Speaker 3: I believe it was an actual thing. Let's look fussing
- 58:35Speaker 3: Lincoln and you'll get the same articles that I was
- 58:37Speaker 3: looking at earlier.
- 58:39Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, okay, from seventeen, because I was like, I'm
- 58:41Speaker 6: pretty sure I've researched this. I just want to make
- 58:42Speaker 6: sure before I make a fool of myself, as I
- 58:44Speaker 6: usually do. But yeah, I like that they've actually gone
- 58:47Speaker 6: because coin collectors, coin collectors probably watching this episode can
- 58:51Speaker 6: relate to it and go, they're going for.
- 58:53Speaker 3: The coin that I'm trying to get.
- 58:55Speaker 7: It's a real thing.
- 58:56Speaker 3: It's a real thing. Yeah, and yeah, the coin knows
- 58:58Speaker 3: where we go. That's actually shut up.
- 59:03Speaker 6: Jimmy's got one of these. But it's from nineteen seventeen.
- 59:07Speaker 6: And the reason that it happened it was a double
- 59:09Speaker 6: print because somebody got a brief glimpse of an ankle
- 59:11Speaker 6: woman's ankle, which coursed three days of writing at the
- 59:13Speaker 6: Philadelphia Mint in nineteen seventeen December, and Asma says, one
- 59:18Speaker 6: of the right, Oh, the one the left is into it,
- 59:19Speaker 6: the one the right is experimenting. Then mister TEENI is
- 59:22Speaker 6: stuck in traffic and Krusty can't improvise for the.
- 59:24Speaker 3: Life of my thought. Yeah, I'm like, he's like the
- 59:27Speaker 3: king of improvising, right, Yeah, yeah, but whatever whatever. He
- 59:32Speaker 3: needs help.
- 59:33Speaker 6: So Lisa comes in to do her job make him
- 59:35Speaker 6: look good, and she plays the role that mister Teeny
- 59:36Speaker 6: was supposed to play, and she just gets high on
- 59:39Speaker 6: the ovation from the crowd, doesn't She's like, oh my god,
- 59:41Speaker 6: this is what is this feeling? Yeah, and Krusty then
- 59:45Speaker 6: goes to the retreat for some R and R but Lataho, yes,
- 59:48Speaker 6: Lake Tahoe, that's right. And then another R and R arrives,
- 59:51Speaker 6: Ron Rabinowitz, which is he's manager of forty five years.
- 59:56Speaker 8: Krusty, I've been your aging for forty five years. I
- 59:59Speaker 8: am telling you watch out for this Lisa Simpson character.
- 1:00:02Speaker 8: She has got a taste for lady laughter. And she
- 1:00:04Speaker 8: will step right over a certain clown together.
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Which clown juckles Professor Edwood, No you no, you the
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Chinese clown?
- 1:00:15Speaker 8: Oh, great one, Krusty, But seriously, you're in real trouble here.
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Yeah, what do you mean if there was a rehearsal
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: for the network, I would have been told by my assistant.
- 1:00:31Speaker 3: She offers to do the run through, doesn't she, And
- 1:00:34Speaker 3: she's prepared to because she got clampans under this exactly.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: She's ready to go. So clearly she has plucked this out.
- 1:00:39Speaker 6: She's set Crusty on for some hour and she knew
- 1:00:41Speaker 6: this was happening, didn't tell him ready to go. She
- 1:00:43Speaker 6: has a steally spotlight. Crusty arrives and I'll figures to
- 1:00:46Speaker 6: get a cap of tellte like you matter.
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: I mean, it's a really.
- 1:00:48Speaker 6: Cool animation here. It's like the three D you usually gain.
- 1:00:51Speaker 6: He turned the car driving around, but Lisa nails it
- 1:00:54Speaker 6: out of the park.
- 1:00:55Speaker 3: Well, yeah, she's doing the bit with the centipede shoes. Yeah,
- 1:00:58Speaker 3: that's well performed comedy. I know that Lindsay Nagil, Yeah,
- 1:01:01Speaker 3: that's her design anyway. Yeah, I'm not sure she gets
- 1:01:04Speaker 3: named as Lindsay Nagel anymore, but she certainly should.
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: But Ron has immediately jumped ship as any agent would
- 1:01:11Speaker 6: come the meet everybody like Lamlett's Crusty tries being eight
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: spites of lollipop and hurts his teeth and get the
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: freeze frame here because Mal's doing the voiceover and Moe
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: is there trying to steal money out of their pockets.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Is it still something anyway? Final act?
- 1:01:28Speaker 6: Now it's the Lisa Show now no longer the Crust
- 1:01:30Speaker 6: of the Clown Show. And she's taken the photos and
- 1:01:32Speaker 6: she's just become crusty. I'm going to kick this photo
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: of you guys forever. Curtain's clothes throws straight in the bin,
- 1:01:37Speaker 6: and she's she's already clearly over it, but she's over
- 1:01:40Speaker 6: the idea of it.
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: But she can't not do it. She needs that that
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: gratification from the audience. Does Is it an actual gimmick
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: from some talk show hosts that they would take a
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: like a a selfie, a polaroid or a selfie of
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: the of the crowd after it? It feels like something
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: Ellen would do.
- 1:01:55Speaker 6: I was about to say it sounds like Alan's like,
- 1:01:56Speaker 6: let's get a selfie with everybody. It was a polaroid
- 1:02:00Speaker 6: it polaroid, yeah, or a selfie audience.
- 1:02:04Speaker 3: It's a photo with audience or photo of audience. I
- 1:02:08Speaker 3: can't fine, I'll get rid of polaroid. Let's see if
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: anything comes up. It feels like an Allen Remember Ellen
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: hosted the Oscars and she did the famous one, Yeah,
- 1:02:18Speaker 3: Kevin Spacey poking his head in like if only you knew. No,
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: I can't see anything here he's coming up anyway, But
- 1:02:28Speaker 3: it feels like I just feels like something that would happen,
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: feels like something Ellen do or maybe even Drew.
- 1:02:33Speaker 6: I was there to say Drew as well. Yeah, she
- 1:02:35Speaker 6: just likes to touch the audience. But where can I go?
- 1:02:43Speaker 6: I'm over here, but Mel wants to help her, but
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: first she needs to say well more goodbye to the
- 1:02:51Speaker 6: audience that she has disdained for. But she just needs
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: that that feeling of the hit. Yeah, the hit Yeah,
- 1:02:55Speaker 6: and Crusty is doing his last gasp show on they
- 1:02:59Speaker 6: got called Public Access tellergion was called Yeah, it's what
- 1:03:02Speaker 6: Wayne's well was on, right, that's correct.
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's brought to.
- 1:03:05Speaker 6: You by NAPPI en knock him out and knock him
- 1:03:08Speaker 6: out Virginia's and his guest is Jimbo Jones, and he
- 1:03:11Speaker 6: realizes this gag was so shit.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: I'm not gonna lie. This is the loss that ever sunk.
- 1:03:15Speaker 3: And I once made out with a blow up doll.
- 1:03:17Speaker 3: I'm like, that's the best you can come up with.
- 1:03:19Speaker 3: That's very high school comedy script. That's just that terrible.
- 1:03:25Speaker 3: I once been out with a b Yeah, and I'm like,
- 1:03:27Speaker 3: that's just shit, that's not a joke, that it's just
- 1:03:30Speaker 3: not funny at all.
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: Then Jibo Flex's for Cindy. Then Homer and Bart are
- 1:03:34Speaker 6: searching for coins through that a pile of them. Homophines
- 1:03:38Speaker 6: a pepperoni slice from the classic nineteen seventy eight Pizza
- 1:03:42Speaker 6: Hut store Terrible and I like this. This was a
- 1:03:46Speaker 6: season six quote. It would be something you see on
- 1:03:49Speaker 6: shirts whatever, you know. Collecting's a lot like life Stop
- 1:03:52Speaker 6: Being Fun a long time ago. That would be on
- 1:03:55Speaker 6: like the binder of your Simpsons cards. But he has
- 1:03:59Speaker 6: still and they go to the auction house, which was
- 1:04:02Speaker 6: called Gavialbees, I believe Gavelbee's auction house, and having a
- 1:04:06Speaker 6: bitting war with mister Burns, and it's starts off like
- 1:04:09Speaker 6: one dollar, five dollars five dollars cash. Mister Burns wins
- 1:04:12Speaker 6: the coin, the Kissing Lincoln's for ten million dollars. I
- 1:04:16Speaker 6: paid a pretty penny for this penny it away. That's
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: that's pretty much it. Rich people do just want Michael.
- 1:04:21Speaker 6: It reminds me of like Michael Jackson. You would just
- 1:04:23Speaker 6: buy random shit just so he could say he's got it.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: He doesn't need it, doesn't really want it, but it's
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: like its good to have in the house. It's the
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: conversation point.
- 1:04:31Speaker 6: It's getting It's also I guess we're talking about the
- 1:04:33Speaker 6: thrill of the audience sort of that Lisa gets right,
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: the ovation. It's the thrill and the hit of I
- 1:04:40Speaker 6: finally have this. I own this now, and once you've
- 1:04:42Speaker 6: got it, like I don't need it anymore.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: Oh goodness it I'm made a made a little pledguere
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: to myself post my recent Birtha's like buddy new ship
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: for the rest of the year. I apologize for telling
- 1:04:54Speaker 3: you the after pay Amazon hack. Yeah, that doesn't help.
- 1:05:00Speaker 3: So Amazon did noel with Prime Day. Yeah, every day's
- 1:05:03Speaker 3: Prime Day, and noordered anywhere else that was having sales.
- 1:05:06Speaker 3: It was like, oh, but this would make my life
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: immeasurably better, or I would feel like a more complete
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: person if I had this book or this dice and
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: they complaining for half price. Actually that was a game changer.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: That's pretty good. Oh yeah, oh, I've got these books now,
- 1:05:26Speaker 3: and that's going to change everything for me. It's like,
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: it's not it's just more stuff.
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: I've bought a lot of books and yeah, I get them,
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: and I go, I can't wait to read you. Put
- 1:05:36Speaker 6: you on the shelf and it just stays there.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: Yeah, got a nice pile on the on the bedside.
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: The idea of it, the idea of eventually getting to it,
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: that's more exciting to me. And the hit rate is
- 1:05:44Speaker 3: maybe like one in five. Like yeah, there's one book
- 1:05:48Speaker 3: a right from this rider that I really like. It's like, oh, yep,
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: cracking this. I've been really getting into it. And but
- 1:05:51Speaker 3: there are others that I've had the like six months.
- 1:05:54Speaker 6: Yeah, what said to Nicola. I bought all the complete
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: series of thirty Rock on Blu Ray and She's like,
- 1:06:00Speaker 6: didn't you buy like all the shield and all of
- 1:06:02Speaker 6: the office.
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, sure, you haven't open as yet and
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: I was like, don't judge me. There'll be time when
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: I'm not but the audi will coming here. I was like,
- 1:06:15Speaker 3: oh no, she's figured me out. And I was like,
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: how much is your hair costure? Who said that? Goodness
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: gracious me?
- 1:06:28Speaker 6: But yeah, mister Burns has bought the coin for ten
- 1:06:31Speaker 6: million dollars and Homer tries to begs him.
- 1:06:34Speaker 3: He's like, the problem is if you had that, I
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: wouldn't see this is exactly Yeah, this sums up what
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: we were just talking about. So Homad just comes up
- 1:06:41Speaker 3: and the ass and you have change for a nickel,
- 1:06:42Speaker 3: and I want to buy my son a gumball. I've
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: only got this. Can I get changed for a nickel?
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: You go?
- 1:06:48Speaker 6: What was made this even better was that mister Burns
- 1:06:50Speaker 6: thought he was getting one up on Homer as well.
- 1:06:51Speaker 6: Only give him four cents, but he gave He gives
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: him the coin. They put the coin in the in
- 1:06:57Speaker 6: the folder, put it on the shelf, and never look
- 1:06:59Speaker 6: at it again.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: But you've completed the task.
- 1:07:02Speaker 6: Yes, but that's time for the ceremony. So we're now
- 1:07:05Speaker 6: back to the beginning again. And that's the what is
- 1:07:07Speaker 6: the Entertainer Awards whatever it is, Yeah, Entertainer of the Year,
- 1:07:10Speaker 6: eighth Entertainer of the Year Awards. Yeah, so now wants
- 1:07:13Speaker 6: to help lace her again here because he owes she
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: owes him everything. So it's like, well, okay, owe you everything.
- 1:07:17Speaker 6: Make it quick. Like she's just she's become crusty. She's
- 1:07:19Speaker 6: just yeah, bitter and not very nice. And he shows
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: her all the former winners who are out all failures because.
- 1:07:26Speaker 3: They oh, yeah, the star is dimmed. The star is dimmed.
- 1:07:28Speaker 10: Yeah, behold, your fellow winners are the Entertainer of the
- 1:07:33Speaker 10: Year Award Kinnah recognize any of that, and why should you?
- 1:07:38Speaker 10: He appears nightly on Broadway selling combs and mints in
- 1:07:42Speaker 10: the men's room. She was fired after a bad rehearsal
- 1:07:46Speaker 10: from Homeboys in Outer Space, and perhaps the saddest one
- 1:07:50Speaker 10: of all increased stages from London to Los Angeles, when
- 1:07:54Speaker 10: he played Brief and Death of our Salesman, every woman
- 1:07:58Speaker 10: in the audience wish they were what's that?
- 1:08:01Speaker 7: What's before? He took the boom?
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: Now then then.
- 1:08:10Speaker 7: Such you?
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: Now it's you? How could this happened to you? To
- 1:08:15Speaker 2: all these wonderful performers.
- 1:08:17Speaker 10: Applause is an addiction, like Heroin Hall checking your email.
- 1:08:22Speaker 10: Once you have a taste, you'll do anything to get more.
- 1:08:26Speaker 10: Don't end up like these people. Don't end up like me.
- 1:08:34Speaker 2: I need to get out where I still can thank you.
- 1:08:37Speaker 6: Now she realizes what I have to do here is
- 1:08:41Speaker 6: give Krusty back the spotlights, and she thanks Krusty in
- 1:08:43Speaker 6: her speech one more final thing, and she sets him
- 1:08:46Speaker 6: up for some jokes and he realizes in the moment.
- 1:08:47Speaker 3: Oh, this is what you're doing. And also he's well,
- 1:08:50Speaker 3: I mean there's a you know, is the go to
- 1:08:53Speaker 3: line about oh I spent three hours practicing my head libs.
- 1:08:57Speaker 3: I mean maybe he had these gags in the back
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: pocket anyway, but he seems that, you know, come up
- 1:09:00Speaker 3: with some pretty good stuff off the considering the story
- 1:09:02Speaker 3: of Strea on him not being able to improvise. That's
- 1:09:04Speaker 3: what I mean. Yeah, that initial thing about it he
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: can't improvise for worth the dam is like, well, he
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: thinks we're doing pretty well here. I mean that gag
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: about the hybrid actually pretty good. Yeah, my wife crashed
- 1:09:13Speaker 3: our car and is that honey, we've got a hybrid?
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: Tinly not actually not a bad gag.
- 1:09:20Speaker 6: I do think that every comedian, though, would have that,
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: I know, ten to twenty gags.
- 1:09:26Speaker 3: They can just go to, oh yeah, you've got to
- 1:09:27Speaker 3: have your epigrams.
- 1:09:28Speaker 6: Yeah that you can just you know, I haven't been
- 1:09:30Speaker 6: here before. If I need help, just throw something out,
- 1:09:32Speaker 6: yeah at a party or whatever.
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: And you oh yeah, everyone's got their bits. Yeah yeah,
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: I mean it was my understanding. There will be no
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: man cut it out, Zach. Everybody loves that one.
- 1:09:44Speaker 6: But then by, as Mal says, by giving it all away,
- 1:09:46Speaker 6: she's kept the one thing giving her a family wayship,
- 1:09:48Speaker 6: one thing that's dignity and it cuts to male dressed
- 1:09:50Speaker 6: as the fire hydrant in the skit with Krusty as
- 1:09:53Speaker 6: Rusty as a dog between to we on him and he says,
- 1:09:56Speaker 6: my wife's currently given birth.
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: To my child. Can I go Nope?
- 1:09:58Speaker 6: A few more times will do this and that's the
- 1:10:00Speaker 6: to the show. So Mal in helping Lisa is also
- 1:10:03Speaker 6: is it Mel.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: Wanted the Spotlight back as well? I think he was
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: genuinely trying to help Lisa. That's not the stories, and
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: he wasn't trying. I think it's too.
- 1:10:12Speaker 6: It's too because he lost his gig as well, essentially
- 1:10:14Speaker 6: because he wasn't on the Lisa show.
- 1:10:16Speaker 3: Was he Maybe he was? He was well certainly hanging
- 1:10:19Speaker 3: around because we.
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: Didn't see uh Mal with Lisa. I'm not too sure
- 1:10:23Speaker 6: it maybe maybe they didn't really go into day.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: But yeah, Mel's too far gone. He's too deep into
- 1:10:28Speaker 3: the system and he can't put himself out. But he's like,
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: it's too late for me, but maybe I can save.
- 1:10:31Speaker 6: You help somebody else. Yes, So overall, I mean not
- 1:10:34Speaker 6: like a great Sason finale, but I thought.
- 1:10:38Speaker 3: And considering that expectations were in the cellar. Yeah, no,
- 1:10:45Speaker 3: it feels it feels bad to say this was pretty
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: good considering we had low expectations. This was actually not
- 1:10:49Speaker 3: a bad episode by anyone's standards. I'm sure you've seen
- 1:10:52Speaker 3: all about a probably enjoy our hell of a lot
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: more as well, even or you're just a real coin
- 1:10:56Speaker 3: nerd Yes. Also shout out to Mitchy Gainer once again,
- 1:11:00Speaker 3: Rip Mitzi Gainer. Yes, what do we learn Bomber? So
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: what did you learn from all about Lisa? Mister Davis? Well,
- 1:11:06Speaker 3: if you want to make it in the show business
- 1:11:08Speaker 3: in peace, to have a mother who will go the
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: extra mile, Yes it will.
- 1:11:12Speaker 6: Indeed, I learned that I can no longer get my
- 1:11:16Speaker 6: way through life by paying with cash. Is cash on
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: the floor before and I'm just like, what's worthless?
- 1:11:24Speaker 8: Now?
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: No one? What's this thing? You just put it in
- 1:11:27Speaker 3: his meth and ran Jet wouldn't even look at it.
- 1:11:33Speaker 3: She was like benmo or nothing, motherfucker.
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: From miss day forward, your names will be.
- 1:11:41Speaker 6: It's the New Name Championship, the final one. It's the
- 1:11:44Speaker 6: finale of season nineteen. Can you believe we've got You've
- 1:11:47Speaker 6: done nine seasons of the podcast, now nine seasons of
- 1:11:49Speaker 6: the show.
- 1:11:50Speaker 3: Good golly, wait at that time, I know you've you've
- 1:11:52Speaker 3: now reviewed nearly two hundred episodes of The Simpsons. Mitche
- 1:11:56Speaker 3: one might say, well, guys, now one season away from
- 1:11:59Speaker 3: doing as many seas as Mitch did. So once we
- 1:12:02Speaker 3: hit season twenty one. Now, guys, the superior one might
- 1:12:07Speaker 3: say he was already that. Well, when I say one,
- 1:12:12Speaker 3: I mean myself, and I mean I'm talking in the
- 1:12:13Speaker 3: mirror a man.
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: All right, So the New Name Championship. The current leader
- 1:12:17Speaker 6: board stands at this in the New Name Jelly in
- 1:12:20Speaker 6: third position, we have Adam Moorehouse on fourteen points, second position,
- 1:12:25Speaker 6: Phil Hawkins on seventeen and at first you name me
- 1:12:28Speaker 6: Yeared on twenty five. He has won, he can't lose.
- 1:12:31Speaker 3: Now looks like he's one in the New Name jamb
- 1:12:33Speaker 3: and let's still less Phill Hawkins gets like the one,
- 1:12:35Speaker 3: two and three. He still he still can't win. Well,
- 1:12:41Speaker 3: as we've done on the show, as I've done on
- 1:12:42Speaker 3: the show for the last nine seasons. Let's go through
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: the motions. Let's do it and say one, two and
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: three points for these new names generously given to us
- 1:12:54Speaker 3: by these some good names came through this week. There
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: wasn't this way. It was tough to narrow down, but
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: I did. And one point goes to clown Eyed Girl.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: I really like that. Clown Eye Girl, one of my
- 1:13:06Speaker 3: dad's favorite songs. Brand Eye Girl.
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: That's by Zach Wood, who I don't believe has any
- 1:13:11Speaker 6: points so far.
- 1:13:12Speaker 3: So he's snuck into the wild card draw. I think
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: it's by Van Morrison. Oh you're talking about the name, Yes,
- 1:13:18Speaker 3: putting on my coming begared. This two points goes to
- 1:13:23Speaker 3: new sense sation. What's a very clever title? That's pretty clever?
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: Who comes up with clever titles?
- 1:13:30Speaker 6: One car clever ca So he's now taken out fourth
- 1:13:34Speaker 6: position for season nineteen with eleven points.
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: On on Kyle or well done. It's been so long
- 1:13:39Speaker 3: that we've done I mean we call clever because it's
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: Carl Muldoon, right, and Muldoon is the guy in Jurassic
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: Parker says, clever. Okay, I just need to I just
- 1:13:48Speaker 3: need to remind her that some other elaborate reason will
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: be Kyle, you are clever. You know we're not just
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: we're not discounting that, but I like, we've been doing
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: it for so long, Like, what do we call clever car?
- 1:14:00Speaker 3: There's the reason there are reasons speaking of multiple things.
- 1:14:04Speaker 3: Three points.
- 1:14:05Speaker 6: Now, this three points goes to Adam Worehouse. That means
- 1:14:07Speaker 6: you're type for second with Phil Hawkins because he's on
- 1:14:09Speaker 6: fourteen seventeen. So let's see he gets the three points here.
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: Oh okay, oh yeah, three points. Guy looked at me
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: absolutely baffled there for a second. He's like, and it's
- 1:14:19Speaker 6: like it's like second.
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: You're putting right after you're putting the car before the doors,
- 1:14:24Speaker 3: you're naming the name before I actually said the name.
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: I'm gonna say. If this is Adam Moorehouse. Oh, if
- 1:14:28Speaker 6: it's Adam, If it's Adam Morehouse, Oh I didn't hear
- 1:14:30Speaker 6: the if. No, no, no, If this anamalhouse, you'll type for second. Yeah,
- 1:14:33Speaker 6: I don't know who it is. Yeah, do you haven't
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: tell me the name?
- 1:14:35Speaker 3: That's right? Okay. Three points goes to sense and Sensibility.
- 1:14:43Speaker 6: Oh another good title. That one comes from one Mike Salter.
- 1:14:48Speaker 6: I'm looking on the lead the board here. No, Mike
- 1:14:50Speaker 6: Salter said, we've got two newbies in the final round,
- 1:14:52Speaker 6: two new names into the wild card draw for next week.
- 1:14:54Speaker 3: This is fantastic. I mean, this is you know what
- 1:14:57Speaker 3: you want from a New Name Championship. You want an
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: underdog to come in and if not, necessarily take the
- 1:15:03Speaker 3: title from Jerry. And still they get a wild card.
- 1:15:08Speaker 3: What are you going for you if you're a wildcard entry,
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: if you're even just on the so the wildcat. So
- 1:15:12Speaker 3: next we're going to do our season nineteen wrap up finale.
- 1:15:14Speaker 3: That's correction Nannigan's thinking, whatever we want to call it,
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: and we'll do a wild card drawer where one person gets.
- 1:15:21Speaker 3: So the first person comes first tier, which is his
- 1:15:24Speaker 3: name is Jared. He now wins an entire season on
- 1:15:26Speaker 3: our top tier. He gets to be a Stonecutter for
- 1:15:29Speaker 3: the year. So that's why he should really now start
- 1:15:30Speaker 3: getting involved in season twenty for the New Name Championship.
- 1:15:33Speaker 3: So he's now a stonecutter for free for an entire season. Free,
- 1:15:36Speaker 3: oh free. And our man.
- 1:15:39Speaker 6: Who came second, okay, well there's no prize for second.
- 1:15:42Speaker 6: It's just the wild card draw. You've got to come
- 1:15:43Speaker 6: first and then there's a wildcupter that unfortunately, Phil, you
- 1:15:45Speaker 6: came second that seventeen points, but you go into the
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: wild card draw and the wild card draw gets the
- 1:15:49Speaker 6: eight dollar tier for the season.
- 1:15:51Speaker 3: Pretty good. You'll you'll you may be Philip Jay Hawkins.
- 1:15:55Speaker 3: On your driver's license or form of identification, you remain
- 1:15:58Speaker 3: Phil Hawkins, which, quite frankly, it sounds cooler. Yeah, Phil Hawkins.
- 1:16:02Speaker 3: Phil Hawkins sounds like an author to me. It sounds
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: like a footballer from the nineteen seventies. Phil Hawkins. What
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: kind of sport though? Football? Yeah? Over football? Rules the rules?
- 1:16:12Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, yeah, dunk like like a rover, Phil Hawkins. Yeah,
- 1:16:17Speaker 3: Phil gets in and under Phil you'll you'll probably listening
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: to the game. What the fuck are they talking about?
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: Blind?
- 1:16:23Speaker 3: This is this guy? What the fuck are we talking about? True?
- 1:16:26Speaker 3: But trust us when we say this is the highest
- 1:16:29Speaker 3: form of compliment. Yes, you're the guy sitting on the
- 1:16:32Speaker 3: bench at halftime, this is the nineteen seventy You're probably
- 1:16:35Speaker 3: smoking a cigarette before you go out and play another
- 1:16:38Speaker 3: half of dart with a pie. Yeah yeah, darting a
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: pie and maybe maybe a sneaky beer under it. We joke,
- 1:16:43Speaker 3: but that's probably what they were doing. This is honestly
- 1:16:45Speaker 3: what they were doing. You can actually see pictures of
- 1:16:47Speaker 3: footballers at halftime eating the pie and eating the pie,
- 1:16:51Speaker 3: smoking a cigarette and sometimes both, Yeah, drinking like that,
- 1:16:54Speaker 3: didn't care what a great game. Did you know that?

- 1:18:14Speaker 6: City sprieof has gone broke? I remember that that that
- 1:18:16Speaker 6: bait and switch. Yeah, look now we're even broker. A
- 1:18:20Speaker 6: lot of stuff we enjoyed, yes, really really not a
