- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30So I'm going to do something a little special for the next few
- 0:33days. Not sure how long this is going
- 0:35to go. Because you know, this is rather
- 0:36random with me, but I want to talk to you all about.
- 0:39You get to decide and the theme of the week.
- 0:43You get to decide in many areas of your life.
- 0:47And I know we seem to think that we don't get to decide, but we
- 0:51get to decide a lot and more, pretty much everything we get to
- 0:57decide. There are some things that show
- 0:59up in our lives and we Will this just randomly happened to me?
- 1:02But ultimately, they were previous choices that we made
- 1:05that set us up for these things. So, today, we are talking about
- 1:10taking back our perspective, taking back our perspective,
- 1:14giving us a foundation for understanding that.
- 1:18There's so much that happens around us and we get to decide
- 1:21what it means. For some people you know you
- 1:24hear some something simple and you say it's not going to rain
- 1:27today. I'm so excited, it's not going
- 1:28to rain other people are pissed off.
- 1:30That it's not raining because they don't want to have to water
- 1:32their lawn or their vegetable gardens or whatever it is
- 1:37amazing to me how a condition, a simple condition of anything can
- 1:42take that and put it into somebody's world and all of a
- 1:46sudden they lose their mind over it or they become elated over.
- 1:49I'm just so fascinated by the fact that people can choose to
- 1:54hear and or see or be a part of something and kept completely
- 1:58opposite perspectives. So, When we start to take back
- 2:02our perspective, when we start to say, okay, I get to decide.
- 2:07I am going to choose what this means to me.
- 2:10We can't do it from the emotional state that we are in.
- 2:14I know I talk about this often but I can't drill this into
- 2:17everybody enough, our emotional states, dictate everything.
- 2:22So when we start to have these conversations with ourselves,
- 2:25like for instance someone says something and this happens
- 2:30between me. My husband a lot.
- 2:31Let me just say this because I have hot buttons as well,
- 2:35because guess what? I'm human.
- 2:36And so, there are not many things that push my buttons, but
- 2:40my husband can push my buttons. So he will say something.
- 2:43And immediately, I have an emotional reaction and then that
- 2:46emotional reaction, dictates everything for me, moving
- 2:49forward, as it does for him. So you can't Overlook these
- 2:56things in yourself. But you also have to be super
- 2:59careful about observing them from the right set of emotions
- 3:04to begin with, you can't be skewed, you know, you can't be
- 3:08off to the side and look for a perspective that's clean and
- 3:11clear and straight on. So that means in the emotional
- 3:15World instead of allowing yourself to be heated way up top
- 3:19and trying to figure out what perspective you want to grab,
- 3:22you have to come back down to ground.
- 3:25Are you have to at least get to neutral?
- 3:27You don't have to go all the way from Angry to Joy.
- 3:30That's a huge jump and that's a big driver shift in the bus.
- 3:34But if you can go from Angry to annoyed to neutral, that is
- 3:40really, really good. You're shifting into different
- 3:43places and when you're at neutral, you can then ask
- 3:45yourself what really happened, what really happened?
- 3:50And then guess what? Back to the theme of the week.
- 3:52You get to decide what you want to make it mean.
- 3:55Mmmmm. It could mean absolutely
- 3:56nothing. I mean, I know nine times out of
- 3:58ten when he says something to me, I take it in a way that he
- 4:02probably didn't mean it, but guess what?
- 4:05Because I have my perspectives, I'm going to take things a
- 4:09certain way, and that's going to inflame the situation.
- 4:13So you have to come back to the reality, the filters, the
- 4:19drivers of the bus, dictate everything, and the very first
- 4:23foundational piece. Of this is you get to decide
- 4:27who's driving, you get to decide the perspective.
- 4:30You want to take on, you get to decide the filter of what you
- 4:34are putting into the world, into the situation, into those
- 4:38moments. No one else can decide for you.
- 4:42No one can make you angry. We make ourselves angry.
- 4:46I make myself angry. Now is it validated?
- 4:50Sure, there are times. Absolutely, it's validated and
- 4:54The crazy thing about emotions, they are supposed to all be
- 4:58there to work for you. You have moments where you were
- 5:01completely validated in feeling the way you feel, but you don't
- 5:06have to stay in that emotion. You do not have to stay in that
- 5:10emotion, you can shift it, you can change it and then you can
- 5:14learn from it. And then you can move on because
- 5:16guess what? You get to decide.
- 5:18So I'm going to ask you guys to really start thinking about that
- 5:23this week. You you Get to decide.
- 5:25Nobody else gets to decide, you get to decide and I really am
- 5:31going to push this issue in every single topic this week
- 5:35because I am telling you right now, there is so many people out
- 5:39there that are talking, the talk about all this.
- 5:41This person did this to me and this did this.
- 5:43And that, that I thought that, and this mentality of being
- 5:47overrun by what other people think.
- 5:50And not what you decide for yourself, has got to come to an
- 5:53end. So, I will see you guys
- 5:56tomorrow. I hope you have a very blessed
- 5:58day and a fabulous day and remember you get to decide by I
