- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on 710WOR. Well, you know, AOC
- 0:11Speaker 1: is on tour. Upstate New York, Buffalo, all these places.
- 0:15Speaker 1: A lot of people think that's her running for the Senate.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Some think that's her campaigning for 2028. She's a congresswoman,
- 0:23Speaker 1: so her district is in Queens. That's it. No reason
- 0:26Speaker 1: to be campaigning upstate unless you're thinking about a statewide campaign.
- 0:30Speaker 1: Or national race, so she's clearly running for something. Now,
- 0:34Speaker 1: her side is saying it's a book tour. She's simply
- 0:38Speaker 1: promoting her book. That could be because that's one way
- 0:42Speaker 1: you make a lot of cash. You know, you don't
- 0:44Speaker 1: get paid a lot as a congressman. But with the
- 0:47Speaker 1: insider trading, you can make a fortune, but also making
- 0:51Speaker 1: some book money is very important when you're in Congress. Now,
- 0:55Speaker 1: this Cornell University... was prestigious. It's a disgusting place now.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I mean, just disgusting. AOC goes to Cornell to speak,
- 1:07Speaker 1: and the Cornell crowd, as she's, during her speech or
- 1:09Speaker 1: before her speech, is chanting, from the river to the sea,
- 1:13Speaker 1: which is a phrase that has to do with wiping
- 1:15Speaker 1: out and eliminating Israel. This is a college campus where
- 1:20Speaker 1: this kind of stuff is going on. All of these
- 1:23Speaker 1: Ivy League schools, Harvard, Columbia, disgusting places. Anti-Semitism going on
- 1:28Speaker 1: on these campuses. And apparently it's still going on at
- 1:32Speaker 1: Cornell where the students are chanting from the river to
- 1:35Speaker 1: the sea. There's a guy, he's a former South Park writer.
- 1:38Speaker 1: He's created a website about Cornell. He says he's going
- 1:41Speaker 1: to expose gang rapes. And he issues a warning to Cornell.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Accountability is coming. So we'll see what that turns into. Hey,
- 1:54Speaker 1: Dolly Parton's estate. is being decided right now. Dolly Parton
- 1:59Speaker 1: left $ 450 million. Pretty good. $ 450 million. You know, she
- 2:05Speaker 1: wrote 3,000 songs. She had a lot of hit songs.
- 2:08Speaker 1: That music catalog said to be worth about $ 120 million.
- 2:13Speaker 1: And then she's a very good businesswoman. And those Dollywood,
- 2:16Speaker 1: the Dollywood theme park, it makes a lot of money.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And she has a 50% stake in that. Forbes says
- 2:23Speaker 1: she's among the top 100 richest self-made women in America.
- 2:29Speaker 1: The problem is she had no children. Her husband is
- 2:32Speaker 1: dead and she had no children. So he got all
- 2:34Speaker 1: the relatives, cousins, uncles, nieces, you know, that kind of stuff.
- 2:39Speaker 1: And whenever that happens, nieces and nephews, they fight like
- 2:42Speaker 1: crazy over the money. So there's going to be quite
- 2:46Speaker 1: a battle. And you know who loves this? The attorneys,
- 2:50Speaker 1: the estate, you know, the People that run the estate,
- 2:53Speaker 1: they make a fortune in fees, so they'll enjoy fighting this.
- 2:57Speaker 1: This is going to be quite a battle for a while. So, hey,
- 3:01Speaker 1: remember this crazed attacker, this lunatic on the street? He
- 3:05Speaker 1: attacked a New York City rabbi, just pummeled the guy.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And then he attacked another person on the street, started
- 3:13Speaker 1: punching them, but just a horrible guy. So a judge
- 3:17Speaker 1: let him loose. Yeah, this is a guy who should
- 3:19Speaker 1: definitely be locked up. This is the absolute first choice
- 3:23Speaker 1: type of guy to keep off the street. Prosecutors only
- 3:28Speaker 1: requested $ 10, 000 bail. This is Alvin Bragg, this awful, awful
- 3:35Speaker 1: district attorney who doesn't believe in putting anybody in jail.
- 3:38Speaker 1: You got a combination of that and Cuomo, where there's
- 3:41Speaker 1: no bail, no jail, let everybody lose legislation that he pushed.
- 3:48Speaker 1: And Hochul backs that up. Because right now she's trying
- 3:50Speaker 1: to Get herself reelected with the Mamdani crowd. So she's
- 3:53Speaker 1: into this no bail, no jail. But this guy is
- 3:57Speaker 1: running around loose right now. Hey, President Trump had quite
- 4:01Speaker 1: a schedule this weekend. He was all over the place.
- 4:05Speaker 1: The President's Cup golf tournament in Chicago. Then he was
- 4:08Speaker 1: in Tennessee for the big football game, the Texas-Tennessee game.
- 4:14Speaker 1: He got there right before the game. But right before
- 4:19Speaker 1: the game, the crowd's already in the stadium. They got
- 4:20Speaker 1: them in early. People thought maybe that's for security that
- 4:24Speaker 1: they got the crowd in very early. It was probably this, too.
- 4:28Speaker 1: The president wanted to do a flyover. Air Force One
- 4:32Speaker 1: did a flyover right over the stadium. It was quite impressive. Now,
- 4:37Speaker 1: Trump's been a major fixture at sporting events all over
- 4:41Speaker 1: the place. NBA finals, golf tournaments, NASCAR. Formula One, all
- 4:47Speaker 1: kinds of races, World Cup, Met Stadium. Big sports fan,
- 4:52Speaker 1: big sports guy, and he's been attending everything, which is good.
- 4:56Speaker 1: It's good for, you know, helps promote all this stuff.
- 5:01Speaker 1: My favorite story in the news. Okay, when you were
- 5:04Speaker 1: in school, grade school, maybe even high school, but grade school,
- 5:07Speaker 1: did you have a really mean teacher? Did you have
- 5:11Speaker 1: a really mean principal? Or a teacher that was too
- 5:15Speaker 1: tough or whatever, or too serious. And like me, when
- 5:20Speaker 1: you got out of school, did you try to torture them?
- 5:22Speaker 1: In other words, make prank phone calls to their house,
- 5:26Speaker 1: call every pizza place around them and send pizzas to
- 5:28Speaker 1: them that they didn't order. I'm not saying I did that.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I've heard of people doing such a thing. But it
- 5:36Speaker 1: can go too far. I can go too far. Southbury, Connecticut.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Very nice town, by the way. I love Southbury. It's
- 5:43Speaker 1: a very nice place in Connecticut. There's a high school teacher.
- 5:49Speaker 1: She teaches at Pomp-a-Rog High School. I love Southbury, but
- 5:55Speaker 1: this is the worst name I ever heard for a
- 5:57Speaker 1: high school. Pomp-a-Rog High School. But anyway, she was targeted
- 6:02Speaker 1: and all sorts of vandalism at her house dating back
- 6:05Speaker 1: a couple of years. There were a number of repeated eggings,
- 6:11Speaker 1: eggs thrown at her house. Well, that's not nice. Her
- 6:13Speaker 1: mailbox was blown up with an M-80 firecracker. Okay, this
- 6:16Speaker 1: is not good. But police finally made an arrest. They
- 6:21Speaker 1: got an 18-year-old Middlebury resident. That's not far from Southbury.
- 6:27Speaker 1: They arrested the 18-year-old kid in connection with an incident.
- 6:31Speaker 1: They think there were other individuals involved. They say they'll
- 6:34Speaker 1: be arrested soon. The student gave police a written confession.
- 6:39Speaker 1: He says he and five friends threw eggs at the residents,
- 6:42Speaker 1: did all this stuff because they said to investigators they
- 6:45Speaker 1: hated this teacher because she was tough and they expected
- 6:49Speaker 1: her class to be easy. You kids today. Well, hey,
- 6:54Speaker 1: there are some teachers who are too tough. I don't
- 6:56Speaker 1: know about this teacher, but you should never do anything
- 6:58Speaker 1: like that. The prank phone calls, that's different, but you
- 7:02Speaker 1: should not go near their house. Hey, remember I told
- 7:05Speaker 1: you that story about Starbucks, they're closing down 250 locations?
- 7:09Speaker 1: Doesn't sound good for Starbucks. No, listen, they got 18,000 locations.
- 7:14Speaker 1: But that's a lot to all of a sudden close 250.
- 7:18Speaker 1: So they made it sound like it's nothing, like, well,
- 7:20Speaker 1: every so often, you know, we close down our underperforming stores.
- 7:24Speaker 1: But I'm looking at the closures. Here's three on Long
- 7:26Speaker 1: Island that closed. There's one in Wheatley Plaza in Greenville.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Wheatley Plaza, they got the Americana. Most beautiful shopping center
- 7:35Speaker 1: in the world. That's in Long Island. The Castagna family,
- 7:39Speaker 1: great people. They also own Wheatley Plaza, which is a beautiful, big, beautiful,
- 7:44Speaker 1: packed shopping center. The Starbucks in there is one of
- 7:47Speaker 1: the ones closing. Huh? That's a big, busy shopping center.
- 7:54Speaker 1: That parking lot is always full. If you can't make
- 7:57Speaker 1: it in that shopping center, something is wrong with you.
- 8:00Speaker 1: And again, it's the Castagna family. They're the nicest landlords.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Can't be a problem with that. There's something suspicious about
- 8:06Speaker 1: these closings. There's another Starbucks closing at the corner of
- 8:10Speaker 1: Northern Boulevard and Glen Cove. If you live in Long Island,
- 8:13Speaker 1: you know that is two major streets that come together.
- 8:17Speaker 1: This Starbucks is in a big shopping center where there's
- 8:21Speaker 1: an equinox, there's a gym, there's everything in the world
- 8:24Speaker 1: in that shopping center. It's the busiest intersection you've ever seen.
- 8:29Speaker 1: If you can't make a living there, if you've got
- 8:31Speaker 1: to close a story there, something is wrong with this
- 8:34Speaker 1: whole story about, I don't know. I mean, if you're
- 8:37Speaker 1: getting wiped out there, something is really, really, really wrong.
- 8:41Speaker 1: You know, James Woods, very good actor. Of course, Casino
- 8:45Speaker 1: and a million movies. He's a brilliant guy, actually, in
- 8:48Speaker 1: real life. I know the guy. Brilliant. He's got an
- 8:51Speaker 1: IQ like 200. And he's got one of the best
- 8:54Speaker 1: Twitter accounts. He's really good on Twitter. He's got millions
- 8:57Speaker 1: of Twitter followers. So apparently he gets into a war
- 9:00Speaker 1: with De Niro on Twitter. Now, James Woods, again, like
- 9:04Speaker 1: an IQ of like 190. He's battling De Niro, who
- 9:09Speaker 1: has an IQ of like 85. He's a great actor,
- 9:12Speaker 1: De Niro, brilliant actor. But as most of the great
- 9:16Speaker 1: actors were, Brando and all, they're all dumb in real life.
- 9:20Speaker 1: There's something about that. Truman Capote said, you have to
- 9:23Speaker 1: be dumb to be a great actor. He couldn't figure
- 9:26Speaker 1: out exactly why, but it was just always the case.
- 9:27Speaker 1: So De Niro starts battling James Woods on Twitter. Now,
- 9:32Speaker 1: De Niro, of course, very left wing. James Woods, right wing.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I forget what the fight was about, but they really
- 9:39Speaker 1: got into it. And De Niro, he picked the wrong
- 9:44Speaker 1: guy to go after. And he said, you know, you're
- 9:50Speaker 1: irrelevant in Hollywood. You mean nothing in Hollywood. He went after,
- 9:54Speaker 1: he called Woods ignorant, uneducated. claiming Hollywood never respected you anyway.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But then Woods fired back at De Niro. He said,
- 10:03Speaker 1: I pretty much pulled back from Hollywood while everyone was
- 10:05Speaker 1: bowing to Harvey Weinstein. And that would include De Niro.
- 10:11Speaker 1: He said, Bobby, forget it was, Bobby forgot it was
- 10:15Speaker 1: wokeness that made Hollywood unappealing and pedophiles sealed the deal.
- 10:20Speaker 1: He then reminded De Niro that my awards speak for themselves.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I never had to sell my soul for slop like
- 10:29Speaker 1: little fuckers. Yeah, that's true. De Niro had some money
- 10:33Speaker 1: trouble at some point. I don't know if it was
- 10:36Speaker 1: divorces or what it was, but he needed cash all
- 10:38Speaker 1: of a sudden. And I know from the agents involved,
- 10:42Speaker 1: they had to quickly get him anything, any movie, no
- 10:47Speaker 1: matter how stupid or silly or, dopey it was he
- 10:50Speaker 1: needed to make a lot of cash real fast so
- 10:51Speaker 1: that's why he did those uh those horrible movies otherwise
- 10:54Speaker 1: he's done some of the greatest films ever in history
- 10:59Speaker 1: uh let me check my new iphone here oh battery
- 11:02Speaker 1: see i'm the big feature of this phone the longest
- 11:06Speaker 1: battery life ever in a phone it can go two
- 11:08Speaker 1: days so it it's been uh i've been using it
- 11:10Speaker 1: now for like three hours three hours four three and
- 11:14Speaker 1: a half four hours battery's only down to 97 that's
- 11:17Speaker 1: pretty good Pretty amazing battery life. Elon Musk is launching
- 11:23Speaker 1: a rocket ship today. You know, a lot of people
- 11:27Speaker 1: hate Elon Musk because he got friendly with Trump or
- 11:29Speaker 1: he was trying to cut the government down or they
- 11:32Speaker 1: think he's a conservative or whatever. But, you know, we're
- 11:36Speaker 1: pretty lucky to have this guy in the world. I mean,
- 11:38Speaker 1: it's pretty amazing to live in the same world as
- 11:42Speaker 1: this guy. It'd be like knowing Thomas Edison. You know,
- 11:46Speaker 1: you study Thomas Edison or Ben Franklin. Imagine having them
- 11:49Speaker 1: alive and watching them create all this stuff in their lifetime.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Imagine if you were alive back then watching Edison create, uh, uh,
- 11:57Speaker 1: the motion picture, creating the phonograph record, creating the light bulb.
- 12:02Speaker 1: I mean, can you imagine what this did to the world?
- 12:05Speaker 1: So from Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison, Elon Musk, he's on
- 12:11Speaker 1: that level. I mean, he created the, uh, perfected the
- 12:13Speaker 1: electric car. He's, uh, he created the Starlink, which will
- 12:17Speaker 1: be the future of all, uh, communication he's uh gonna
- 12:21Speaker 1: go to the moon he's launching rockets all over the
- 12:24Speaker 1: place you know you can attack them all you want
- 12:27Speaker 1: uh but uh do you know anybody else launching rockets
- 12:30Speaker 1: into space putting satellites up there going to the moon
- 12:34Speaker 1: you know the uh united states hasn't been to the
- 12:36Speaker 1: moon in decades decades we're trying to get back there
- 12:39Speaker 1: and it's a long slow process watch elon musk will
- 12:42Speaker 1: get there long before us our space program was so
- 12:45Speaker 1: screwed up remember in the space station we had astronauts
- 12:48Speaker 1: stranded there and we couldn't, couldn't rescue them from the
- 12:51Speaker 1: space station. It was Elon Musk. We had to go
- 12:55Speaker 1: up there with one of his rockets and get them down.
- 12:58Speaker 1: How many private citizens do you know that could do
- 13:00Speaker 1: that for the government? Uh, Hey, President Xi, uh, it
- 13:04Speaker 1: was quite a visit. Now, a lot of people were
- 13:07Speaker 1: wondering cause they, they're looking at the photographs of the
- 13:10Speaker 1: state dinner in the East room of the white house.
- 13:12Speaker 1: It was quite, uh, ornate and quite, uh, It was
- 13:16Speaker 1: magnificent looking. They had the most beautiful china. That was
- 13:20Speaker 1: the Reagan china. It was bought during the Reagan era.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Most beautiful silverware. The most beautiful china. The table just
- 13:29Speaker 1: magnificently decorated. And in the middle of all this, President
- 13:34Speaker 1: Xi and Madame Ping had these big black thermoses, these
- 13:39Speaker 1: big plastic or whatever they are, black thermoses on the table.
- 13:43Speaker 1: And everybody was wondering, what the hell is that all about?
- 13:46Speaker 1: It's Chinese culture. They have to drink boiling hot stuff.
- 13:52Speaker 1: The Chinese prefer drinking extremely hot beverages. And the only
- 13:56Speaker 1: way to keep it that hot is in a thermos.
- 13:58Speaker 1: So they brought their thermoses with them. I don't know
- 14:01Speaker 1: what this is in China, but they like stuff really hot.
- 14:06Speaker 1: You know, if you're in Las Vegas playing baccarat in
- 14:09Speaker 1: the high roller room, which is a private separate room
- 14:13Speaker 1: for the extreme high rollers, they're all Asians in there.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Asian zillionaire high rollers. And the casino boss will tell
- 14:21Speaker 1: you if you're going to play in there, don't eat
- 14:23Speaker 1: anything off the buffet. What do you mean? Don't eat
- 14:26Speaker 1: off that buffet. It's boiling hot. You'll burn your mouth.
- 14:29Speaker 1: The other day, like extremely hot food and extremely hot drinks.
- 14:34Speaker 1: You know, if you're in China, even the public water
- 14:40Speaker 1: fountains in the country have a boiling water option so
- 14:43Speaker 1: people can keep their thermos filled. It's the opposite of America.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Nobody will even drink hot coffee anymore. Anybody under 40,
- 14:51Speaker 1: it's got to be iced coffee. But that's a thing
- 14:53Speaker 1: in China. Boiling hot everything. What is that all about?
- 14:56Speaker 1: I have no idea. Don't know. Don Lemon is doing
- 15:04Speaker 1: a show and he claims he's not against Trump. And
- 15:07Speaker 1: he's not a liberal. Imagine if there was a lie
- 15:12Speaker 1: detector hooked up. That could have caused a blackout in
- 15:14Speaker 1: like 12 states. He said this in the latest episode
- 15:18Speaker 1: of The Don Lemon Show. Now, you might be saying
- 15:21Speaker 1: to yourself, where the hell is The Don Lemon Show on?
- 15:24Speaker 1: Who knows? It's his own website. It's done from his
- 15:29Speaker 1: bedroom in his pajamas, but he's got a green screen
- 15:33Speaker 1: in the background, and he calls it The Don Lemon Show.
- 15:37Speaker 1: This is what happens when you're tossed out. Tucker Carlson,
- 15:40Speaker 1: Megyn Kelly, Don Lemon. You're doing a show from home
- 15:44Speaker 1: in your pajamas. And pretending you're on television. Hey, we'll
- 15:49Speaker 1: take some calls next. 800-321-0710 is the number. If you're
- 15:51Speaker 1: a new caller, call us.
- 15:52Speaker 2: 800-321-0710.
- 15:52Speaker 1: What's better than two hours of Mark Simone?
- 15:54Speaker 3: Three.
- 15:54Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show. Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 15:56Speaker 4: 710-W-O-R.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to Joe in Chatham. Joe,
- 16:15Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 16:16Speaker 4: Hi, Mark.
- 16:20Speaker 2: You were talking about the start of The Tonight Show.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Last hour.
- 16:23Speaker 1: 72 years ago, The Tonight Show began.
- 16:26Speaker 2: What I remember was before Steve Allen, Jerry Lester had
- 16:33Speaker 2: that time with Dagmar.
- 16:34Speaker 1: Well, that had been much earlier. That had been 1951, 1952.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Tonight Show came along.
- 16:40Speaker 2: I thought it was right before Steve Allen.
- 16:42Speaker 1: No, no. There was a gap of a few years there.
- 16:45Speaker 1: And Jerry Lester. It was not a Tonight Show at all.
- 16:48Speaker 1: It was just a regular straight variety show.
- 16:53Speaker 2: I was only 10 years old at the time, so
- 16:56Speaker 2: I just remember watching it. 10 years old? You shouldn't
- 16:59Speaker 2: stay up so late.
- 17:01Speaker 1: 10 years old? What would that do? So you'd be like,
- 17:03Speaker 1: how old would you be?
- 17:04Speaker 3: 85?
- 17:04Speaker 4: I'm 85.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Oh, my God. See how sharp the guy says? Compare
- 17:09Speaker 1: that to Joe Biden. What a difference.
- 17:12Speaker 2: Don't compare me to... Don't say my name and Joe
- 17:14Speaker 2: Biden's name the same.
- 17:16Speaker 1: All right. Thanks for calling. Let's go to Bill in Idaho. Bill,
- 17:21Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 17:23Speaker 2: Hey, Mark.
- 17:23Speaker 5: How are you?
- 17:24Speaker 1: I'm good.
- 17:26Speaker 4: Did you hear that a goat charged into a Palestinian
- 17:30Speaker 4: strip club and cost almost $ 3, 000 worth of damage?
- 17:34Speaker 1: Now, wait a minute. All right. That's... He's being funny.
- 17:40Speaker 2: The good news is he got up on stage and
- 17:44Speaker 2: earned it all.
- 17:45Speaker 1: The goat left lots of ones, lots of $ 1 bills.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Yes.
- 17:51Speaker 1: All right. We see where you're going with this. All right.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Thanks for calling. Let's go to, is this the name?
- 17:57Speaker 1: Scrapper in Connecticut? Is that your name? Scrapper?
- 18:01Speaker 4: Yeah, that's me.
- 18:03Speaker 1: What kind of name is that? Scrapper.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Well, it's a name that has a short story.
- 18:09Speaker 1: Does that mean you're a fighter? You're in the junk business?
- 18:14Speaker 1: What does it mean?
- 18:16Speaker 4: Well, junk and a fighter. He doesn't want to say.
- 18:22Speaker 4: I want to say that I think they should stop
- 18:26Speaker 4: calling the swamp the swamp and call it the cesspool.
- 18:31Speaker 4: They're insulting the swamps all over the world. D.C., Albany,
- 18:36Speaker 4: it's a cesspool of those polytexters up there.
- 18:40Speaker 1: I know, but swamp sounds better. Swamp sounds better. Why
- 18:43Speaker 1: are you scrapping? No, it doesn't. Tell us why you.
- 18:46Speaker 5: Call it scrapping.
- 18:48Speaker 4: You're insulting the swamps all over the planet.
- 18:51Speaker 1: Oh, you're a swamp guy. You like swamps. Is that it?
- 18:54Speaker 5: Well, no.
- 18:54Speaker 4: It's an insult. We have to have swamps on the planet.
- 18:59Speaker 1: Well, you've got to have cesspools, too.
- 19:02Speaker 4: Well, that's what you got in D.C.
- 19:04Speaker 5: And Albany.
- 19:05Speaker 1: All right. Thanks for calling. Let's go to Neil in Brooklyn. Neil,
- 19:10Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 19:12Speaker 2: Thank you, Mark.
- 19:13Speaker 4: You know, you talk about the Iranian president ducking questions
- 19:17Speaker 4: because he's in fear for his life. Yeah. Did you
- 19:19Speaker 4: ever see Democrat senators duck questions about Piker and Abdul?
- 19:25Speaker 1: Well, that's just to avoid political controversy. But this Iranian
- 19:28Speaker 1: foreign minister, when he's on television, you can see this
- 19:30Speaker 1: guy's terrified that, I mean, they'll just shoot him and
- 19:34Speaker 1: execute him in one second if he says the wrong word.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Even that U.N. speech. Remember that speaking at the U.N.,
- 19:40Speaker 1: the U.N. Iranian president? You could see him shaking. He
- 19:44Speaker 1: was like so terrified. One wrong word and they'll execute
- 19:47Speaker 1: you in Iran. Oh, let's go to Tom in Queens. Tom,
- 19:53Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 19:55Speaker 4: Hey, Mark.
- 19:56Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 5: So when it comes to Trump barring the reporters from
- 20:00Speaker 5: the White House, why don't he just Use the argument
- 20:04Speaker 5: that they're a national security threat.
- 20:06Speaker 1: He has. Bring him into court. He has. When they
- 20:08Speaker 1: go into discovery. Yeah, listen to me. They've used it.
- 20:11Speaker 1: They've used it. They've used it. And what they're referring
- 20:14Speaker 1: to is a couple of reporters leaked out stuff, classified stuff.
- 20:17Speaker 1: So they're going to use all the arguments in court.
- 20:20Speaker 1: But we'll see what happens. Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn. Vincent,
- 20:24Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 20:25Speaker 3: Good morning, Mark. Mark, I had a call screener, Izzy,
- 20:28Speaker 3: cracking up when I said this. This is what I do.
- 20:31Speaker 3: Want to know what I did to a teacher when
- 20:32Speaker 3: I was young in grammar school?
- 20:34Speaker 1: Oh, I hate to ask. What?
- 20:36Speaker 3: It was Teacher Appreciation Day, and I brought the teacher
- 20:39Speaker 3: a bouquet of flowers. Each flower was laced with black pepper.
- 20:45Speaker 3: And I told the teacher, I said, go ahead, sniff
- 20:47Speaker 3: the flowers, smell the bouquet. Well, she did. It went
- 20:51Speaker 3: up her nose, in her eyes. They called me down
- 20:54Speaker 3: to the principal's office. My mother had to come up
- 20:57Speaker 3: to school and get me. And when they got me home,
- 21:02Speaker 3: it didn't end pretty well for me. Mark, yesterday I
- 21:05Speaker 3: heard on WOR News that what the Democrats wanted to
- 21:09Speaker 3: do on a national level with the AI, control it.
- 21:13Speaker 3: The city council already, there's two bills on Julia Menon's desk.
- 21:19Speaker 3: that you have to use city-approved AI software, and there's
- 21:25Speaker 3: a rat law. Any employee working in a business where
- 21:30Speaker 3: they're not using city-approved AI software They're going to fine
- 21:36Speaker 3: the business, and the rat will get half of the
- 21:39Speaker 3: money of the fine. Now, I wonder if this is
- 21:44Speaker 3: who promulgated this law, and if this common-sense Democrat, so-called
- 21:50Speaker 3: Julia Menon, Julia Menon is going to sign it.
- 21:53Speaker 1: No, it makes perfect sense. It makes perfect sense, because
- 21:57Speaker 1: obviously they're handing out a contract for the software. in
- 22:00Speaker 1: exchange for massive donations.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 22:04Speaker 1: That's all it's about. Yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Government 101, once again.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Great call, Vincent. Thanks for calling. Yeah, when you hand
- 22:12Speaker 1: out these massive contracts in exchange for huge donation to
- 22:16Speaker 1: your PACs and your campaigns, you've got to make sure
- 22:19Speaker 1: everybody uses the software. So that's why those restrictions. Oh,
- 22:22Speaker 1: when we come back, Bill O'Reilly, normally on Tuesdays, but
- 22:25Speaker 1: he had to move to Monday this week. So we'll
- 22:28Speaker 1: talk to Bill O'Reilly. He'll be with us next. on 710WOR.
- 22:33Speaker 2: It's the Mark Simone Show.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Live from the WOR LifeVac Studios. Hey, with us right now,
- 22:41Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly, of course, the number one TV anchor for decades.
- 22:44Speaker 1: He's the number one best-selling non-fiction author on Earth, and
- 22:48Speaker 1: his latest book is already a huge bestseller. If you
- 22:51Speaker 1: haven't ordered it yet, go get it. It's out. It's
- 22:53Speaker 1: Confronting America. He takes you through some of the biggest
- 22:57Speaker 1: moments in American history over the last couple of decades.
- 22:59Speaker 1: He was there on the front lines. It's quite a book,
- 23:02Speaker 1: Confronting America. Order it now. And, of course, go to BillOReilly.com.
- 23:05Speaker 1: You can get his column, the TV show. Watch his podcast.
- 23:10Speaker 1: We'll do it live, the Bill O'Reilly YouTube channel. You
- 23:13Speaker 1: can get everything at BillOReilly.com. Bill O'Reilly, how are you doing?
- 23:16Speaker 5: I'm already busy. It's just Monday, right? Is it just Monday?
- 23:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:23Speaker 1: After a miserable weekend, it's Monday.
- 23:26Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:27Speaker 5: I don't even know what day it is anymore. But
- 23:31Speaker 5: I'm doing okay. How about you?
- 23:32Speaker 1: I'm good. I'm good. Hey, you spent some time in
- 23:35Speaker 1: China recently. The visit with President Xi, President Trump, very respectful,
- 23:41Speaker 1: very cordial. Was he too cordial to him?
- 23:45Speaker 5: No, I mean, look, China is a very, let's see
- 23:53Speaker 5: what word I want to use, unpredictable place. And You're
- 23:58Speaker 5: not going to get anywhere browbeating them or insulting them.
- 24:04Speaker 5: You're not. So it's a waste of time. So the
- 24:07Speaker 5: only other avenue is to flatter them. Trump is good
- 24:10Speaker 5: at that.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:12Speaker 5: And that's what that was all about, to try to
- 24:14Speaker 5: get Xi, who's a dictator, I mean, he doesn't have
- 24:17Speaker 5: to consult with anybody, to like Trump so that Xi
- 24:21Speaker 5: doesn't go out of his way to hurt the USA,
- 24:25Speaker 5: which he could.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:27Speaker 1: But is it that simple? A guy like Xi in China,
- 24:29Speaker 1: he's like, I like the guy. I mean, it's like
- 24:32Speaker 1: a gangster. They can't help themselves. They got to do
- 24:35Speaker 1: something bad to people.
- 24:38Speaker 5: Yeah, he's a bad guy. He wears a little Mao suit.
- 24:43Speaker 5: You know, when I saw that, I went, oh. But
- 24:48Speaker 5: we have to deal with bad guys. And that's that.
- 24:52Speaker 5: And people who live in a bubble or live in
- 24:54Speaker 5: a world that doesn't exist, oh, we'll confront them. No,
- 24:57Speaker 5: you won't. Because then you think Iran's tough?
- 25:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 5: You get involved with China?
- 25:04Speaker 4: Come on.
- 25:05Speaker 5: And then the AI stuff is just coming to a
- 25:11Speaker 5: point where most Americans don't even know what's on the horizon.
- 25:17Speaker 5: I wrote a column, and it was posted on BillOReilly.com,
- 25:22Speaker 5: wrote it yesterday, my Sunday column. And I looked at
- 25:26Speaker 5: how many reads there were on the column, hundreds of thousands,
- 25:30Speaker 5: but not what it is for a celebrity. So if
- 25:34Speaker 5: I interview a celebrity, we got a lot more views
- 25:39Speaker 5: than we did this AI stuff. That tells me that
- 25:44Speaker 5: most Americans, they're not locked into this yet. And you
- 25:49Speaker 5: better get locked in because these hackers, which are going
- 25:53Speaker 5: to work in conjunction with the AI, they have the
- 25:58Speaker 5: potential to really cause massive trouble, not only to the world,
- 26:03Speaker 5: but to you. And they're hacking medical records and financial records,
- 26:09Speaker 5: and Congress has got to step in and get involved.
- 26:13Speaker 1: Yeah, obviously it's a huge hacking problem. But Bill Gates
- 26:17Speaker 1: on the Sunday show, you know, he said it's going
- 26:19Speaker 1: to kill billions of people. We'll all be dead by Tuesday.
- 26:21Speaker 1: It's not as bad as he makes it out to be,
- 26:23Speaker 1: is it? Not yet.
- 26:25Speaker 5: No. Not yet. But if they don't control the miscreants
- 26:31Speaker 5: who are desperately trying to get advantage in AI, like China,
- 26:36Speaker 5: I mean, just think about where did COVID come from?
- 26:41Speaker 5: I think it was China.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:44Speaker 5: This is a million times worse. And when you read
- 26:50Speaker 5: the column, and we'll do it live. If you don't
- 26:54Speaker 5: want to read, you can just watch what we did
- 26:57Speaker 5: with this MIT professor. They call them rogue agents, but
- 27:02Speaker 5: they're not really human. They're machines. And they just go
- 27:09Speaker 5: out of control and don't obey orders. what their masters
- 27:13Speaker 5: tell them to do. I mean, a five-year-old, no, that's
- 27:18Speaker 5: not good. Yet most Americans are concerned, right, still, still,
- 27:25Speaker 5: the gasoline, the food prices, I understand, but boy, oh boy,
- 27:29Speaker 5: this is coming fast, this AI stuff.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Yeah, and what you're talking about is the part of
- 27:36Speaker 1: the AI you've got to worry about is what they
- 27:37Speaker 1: call the recursive AI, where it can break out of
- 27:41Speaker 1: whatever limits it has. It can reinvent itself. It can
- 27:45Speaker 1: go totally rogue. But as Bill Gates and these other
- 27:48Speaker 1: guys point out, there's actually no such thing as a
- 27:51Speaker 1: kill switch. That's a myth, a total myth.
- 27:54Speaker 5: And it gets stronger.
- 27:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:57Speaker 5: See, right now, most of these AI companies can rein
- 28:02Speaker 5: in something that's going wrong. But in a year from now,
- 28:08Speaker 5: they're not going to be able to do that.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Hmm.
- 28:10Speaker 5: So whatever is going wrong is going to continue to
- 28:14Speaker 5: go wrong because there's no way to stop it at
- 28:18Speaker 5: this point. Now, I assume the CIA and the American
- 28:23Speaker 5: government is trying to get enough power in cyberspace to
- 28:30Speaker 5: head this stuff off. But China's not. Just China wants
- 28:34Speaker 5: unrestrained use of A.I., And that's what Trump's worried about.
- 28:40Speaker 5: Trump doesn't buy into the Armageddon situation. He goes, if
- 28:45Speaker 5: we clamp limits on AI, China will dominate all over
- 28:52Speaker 5: the world. And you have to take that seriously as well.
- 28:58Speaker 5: But my opinion is that Congress has to pass a
- 29:03Speaker 5: series of new laws that if you are involved with AI...
- 29:08Speaker 5: and doing something badly, you go to prison for a
- 29:13Speaker 5: long period of time. That's the only inhibitor I can see.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but we already have those laws, don't we? Liability, product?
- 29:22Speaker 5: No, not really. You got civil laws, but you don't
- 29:28Speaker 5: have federal laws. Some states have them, but they're soft.
- 29:32Speaker 5: And there's no investigative agency. We need... an AI FBI.
- 29:38Speaker 5: That's a lot of initials, but we're going to have
- 29:41Speaker 5: to have a federal agency with the power to surveil
- 29:47Speaker 5: what the deuce is happening here. And most Americans, it
- 29:51Speaker 5: gives them a headache. They'd rather watch the game or
- 29:54Speaker 5: the movie or whatever. They don't want to get involved
- 29:56Speaker 5: with this. But I'm telling you, we've been warned.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Hey, Bill O'Reilly's new book. You've got to get this book.
- 30:03Speaker 1: You'll love this book, Confronting America. It takes you through
- 30:06Speaker 1: a lot of American history. And he was there for it.
- 30:08Speaker 1: We've never had a time where half the country wanted
- 30:11Speaker 1: to wipe out the other half politically. I mean, you
- 30:14Speaker 1: go back to the late 60s. A bunch of young
- 30:16Speaker 1: college types hated the old people. But this is all ages,
- 30:20Speaker 1: this political war, civil war. We've never had anything like this,
- 30:25Speaker 1: have we?
- 30:26Speaker 5: No, but it's temporary.
- 30:28Speaker 2: Right.
- 30:29Speaker 5: And I say that because if President Trump did not
- 30:34Speaker 5: confront Iran, the Republicans would coast in the midterms. That
- 30:42Speaker 5: changed everything, not one action. And you remember I was
- 30:45Speaker 5: on your program, and I said it was the biggest
- 30:48Speaker 5: scandal of President Trump's life, the whole life, confronting these guys,
- 30:54Speaker 5: because they don't care if they live or die or
- 30:57Speaker 5: if their people live or die. That's a tough enemy
- 31:00Speaker 5: to fight. And it's gone south. And because it's gone
- 31:05Speaker 5: south here, there may be a political change in Congress,
- 31:11Speaker 5: which is scary because these progressives, socialists, communists, whatever they
- 31:16Speaker 5: may be, they're dangerous. But I don't think it's going
- 31:21Speaker 5: to be that overwhelming. Democrats think it will be. I
- 31:28Speaker 5: think the Republicans at this point will hang on to
- 31:32Speaker 5: the Senate.
- 31:33Speaker 1: Oh, okay. All right. Well, that's good news. Bill O'Reilly's
- 31:37Speaker 1: new book. You want to get the book. It's really,
- 31:39Speaker 1: really good. Confronting America. It's already a huge bestseller. But
- 31:43Speaker 1: order Bill O'Reilly's new book, Confronting America. The podcast will
- 31:47Speaker 1: do it live. You've got a new episode coming this week, right?
- 31:50Speaker 5: Yeah, we have. I'm going to the White House on Wednesday.
- 31:55Speaker 5: We got Peter Navarro.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Very good.
- 31:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:00Speaker 5: Oh, boy, that's going to be something. Because he hates.
- 32:06Speaker 4: China.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Yeah. And he knows a lot about it.
- 32:09Speaker 5: And his office, yeah, his office is right across the
- 32:12Speaker 5: hall from Trump's. So that'll be an interesting discussion. So
- 32:21Speaker 5: we'll drop that on Thursday. We have the AI stuff
- 32:25Speaker 5: up now.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Great stuff. Take a listen to the podcast. We'll do
- 32:28Speaker 1: it live. Watch Bill O'Reilly's YouTube channel. Get the book.
- 32:31Speaker 1: I'm highly recommending this book, Confronting America. And, of course,
- 32:35Speaker 1: go to BillOReilly.com. Bill O'Reilly, thanks for being with us.
- 32:39Speaker 5: I appreciate it, Mark. Thanks for having me.
- 32:41Speaker 1: All right. Take care. Hey, don't forget at noon, it's
- 32:44Speaker 1: Buck Sexton, Clay Travis. Big show at noon. The most
- 32:47Speaker 1: listened to radio show in America, Sean Hannity coming up
- 32:50Speaker 1: at 3. Jesse Kelly at 6. Very funny, Jimmy Fallon
- 32:54Speaker 1: at 9. I'm here every day, 9 to noon. Three
- 32:57Speaker 1: hours now, 9 a.m.
- 32:58Speaker 4: To noon.
- 32:59Speaker 1: And, of course, 6 to 9, Curtis Sliwa and Larry Mendte.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Here on 710WOR. What's better than two hours of Mark Simone?
- 33:08Speaker 2: Three.
- 33:09Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show.
- 33:10Speaker 2: Now nine till noon weekdays.
- 33:14Speaker 1: 710WOR. Well, hey, it's been a great show. Three hours
- 33:18Speaker 1: of fun here. The rain's going to end later today,
- 33:22Speaker 1: and it's going to be nice the rest of the week.
- 33:23Speaker 1: The rain's going to end, and you're not going to
- 33:25Speaker 1: hear this anymore. Three days of that. Okay, it's going
- 33:32Speaker 1: to be, and Wednesday's going to be like 75 and nice.
- 33:35Speaker 1: I'll see you tomorrow, 9 to noon, here on 710WOR.
