Lucas: Exactly. Last time we built a snowman, and it was so fun. But now the snow has frozen, and there's ice everywhere. Luna: Ice. That makes me think of the frozen pond in the park. Lucas: Perfect. So today we're learning about ice. The Italian word for ice is il ghiaccio. Luna: Il ghiaccio. Il ghiaccio. Lucas: Say it with me: il ghiaccio. Luna: Il ghiaccio. That's a bit tricky, but I like it. Lucas: You got it. Now, when you see ice, you might want to say il ghiaccio è liscio. That means 'the ice is smooth.' Luna: Il ghiaccio è liscio. Il ghiaccio è liscio. Lucas: Great. And because ice can be slippery, we often warn someone: attenti al ghiaccio, which is 'careful on the ice.' Luna: Attenti al ghiaccio. Attenti al ghiaccio. That's a useful one. Lucas: Absolutely. Now imagine you're at the park, and the pond is frozen. You might say camminiamo sul ghiaccio, 'let's walk on the ice.' Luna: Camminiamo sul ghiaccio. Camminiamo sul ghiaccio. Lucas: And when you're having a great time, you can say che divertimento, 'what fun.' Luna: Che divertimento. That one's easy. Lucas: So let's put them together. Now let's try a little scene. Luna, you're at the park, and you see the frozen pond. Luna: Oh, il ghiaccio. Il ghiaccio è liscio. Lucas: And you want to step on it, but I'm a bit cautious.
