A Tucson police recruit, days away from graduation, was killed in his home while bravely defending his fiancée and child from armed intruders. The suspect, who told his fiancée to grab a gun while he engaged the attackers, was fatally shot during the struggle. His fiancée, a corrections officer, was also wounded when deputies arrived.
