- 1:22SPEAKER_04: Bottom.
- 1:23SPEAKER_04: Up.
- 1:24SPEAKER_04: Down.
- 1:26SPEAKER_04: Stuck.
- 1:28SPEAKER_04: Awesome.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:34SPEAKER_02: So anyway.
- 1:36SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say something rude like your mom, but no.
- 1:40SPEAKER_04: Sorry, Blanche, you're children.
- 1:41SPEAKER_04: That's not appropriate, Doug.
- 1:44SPEAKER_04: I know, Doug.
- 1:46SPEAKER_04: Um Doug is referring to himself into third person today.
- 1:49SPEAKER_04: Have you been subbing at all this week?
- 1:51SPEAKER_04: What did you sub yesterday and today?
- 1:52SPEAKER_04: I was there today.
- 1:53SPEAKER_02: You were there today.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:54SPEAKER_02: Were you there at all last week?
- 1:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:57SPEAKER_02: You got a lot of sick kids?
- 1:58SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 1:59SPEAKER_02: Holy cow.
- 2:00SPEAKER_04: The kindergarten was down to five today.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Apparently it was four yesterday.
- 2:04SPEAKER_02: My daughter, uh, in middle school, they have 20 kids in her class.
- 2:08SPEAKER_02: She had 10 kids out.
- 2:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, sounds about right from her class.
- 2:11SPEAKER_02: I was out yesterday.
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: Oh, were you?
- 2:13SPEAKER_02: Um, I don't think I had the same thing that everybody else.
- 2:17SPEAKER_02: Well, there's like several different things going around.
- 2:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:20SPEAKER_02: Um, mine was so so Saturday morning I woke up and I was tired, and about I was, you know, I was doing okay.
- 2:27SPEAKER_02: The boys had a game that day, and um there was something else going on, but uh anyway, I about nine uh eight thirty, nine o'clock, I'm like, I'm not getting out of bed.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: And I was like, what?
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: And I was like, I'm starting to feel achy.
- 2:47SPEAKER_02: And I just it just hit me all of a sudden, and I was in bed all day.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: Fever, fever and achy all day um and all night.
- 2:56SPEAKER_02: And then Sunday, this may be a little bit too much information, but the uh fever and the ache went away.
- 3:02SPEAKER_02: Uh, but I had a headache for half the day and the runs.
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: Like a faucet.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: All day.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: Um and then yesterday I probably could have gone in to work, but it's a good thing that I didn't.
- 3:23SPEAKER_02: Uh I was still not feeling fantastic, but I only get five minutes between classes.
- 3:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 3:30SPEAKER_02: And that wouldn't have been enough time to go to the bathroom.
- 3:32SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:33SPEAKER_02: So I decided to to call in and and uh but I went back today and the amount of c and I do uh cafeteria duty, and we had almost a whole table of missing of kids.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: I believe it.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: You know, it's it's unbelievable what is what is going around.
- 3:50SPEAKER_02: I made a proposal on Facebook.
- 3:52SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you saw that, and probably not because you were on your way over here, and I just made it not too long ago.
- 3:57SPEAKER_02: Um nobody's gonna take me up on it, but I thought uh I'll read it to you.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: Because it was it was a joke, really.
- 4:05SPEAKER_02: But and then some of my some of my teachers' friends kind of took me seriously.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: I was like, uh I was kidding.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: It was sarcasm.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: Humor.
- 4:13SPEAKER_02: Anyway, I said, I'm fully aware that part of the reason there are so many sick bugs sprinting around is because kids at school were apart for the holidays and then brought back together to start the new year.
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: But hear me out.
- 4:25SPEAKER_02: How about an extra week of winter break just to get the bugs out of our system before returning to school?
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: Maybe two extra weeks.
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: And I said, Sure hope this goes viral.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: Seriously though, hope all our who are suffering get better soon.
- 4:40SPEAKER_02: And then, you know, some people got the joke, and then you know, this one teacher was like, We can't do that because we know it was a joke.
- 4:48SPEAKER_04: It was just a joke.
- 4:49SPEAKER_04: Hey, hey, why'd you take your contract out of your butt?
- 4:52SPEAKER_04: It'll feel better.
- 4:55SPEAKER_04: We know we'd get told longer.
- 4:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:58SPEAKER_02: Uh one one said that uh um the rest of the country does, but they get one week off in March as opposed to our two separate weeks in February and April.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: We can't make it through winter with only one break.
- 5:08SPEAKER_02: And that's and I said, uh, I was considering just keeping everything the way it was, just adding on to our weeks.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: Apparently.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: You're just like, hey, we're gonna take four weeks of Christmas vacation from now on.
- 5:26SPEAKER_02: And then another teacher said, uh teacher friend of mine said, but that would mean we we're um uh we would have to go longer in June.
- 5:34SPEAKER_02: I'm like, it's a joke.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: A joke.
- 5:38SPEAKER_02: How about we just how about we get out June first, keep all the vacations in place, and add two extra weeks to winter break.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: Just cuz.
- 5:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, why not?
- 5:49SPEAKER_04: It'll be fun.
- 5:50SPEAKER_04: Nobody does anything summer anyway.
- 5:52SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 5:53SPEAKER_04: Summer sucks.
- 5:54SPEAKER_04: Winter's where it's at, right?
- 5:57SPEAKER_04: Snow and cold and the flu.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: Um, you know who um uh uh liked my post?
- 6:08SPEAKER_02: Your mom.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: No, she's not on Facebook.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: Holy cow.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: My mom.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: If she were, no.
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: My mom didn't like your post?
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: No.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Well, she probably hasn't seen it yet, because like I said, I just posted it.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: But um Matt Banker.
- 6:21SPEAKER_02: Matty.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: I haven't I haven't heard from Matt or you know, uh, you know, talked to Matt on Facebook or whatever in I don't know how long.
- 6:30SPEAKER_02: Probably years, yeah.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: Years.
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: Matt Banker was the producer, mixer, and producer and engineer and engineer uh of our debut album.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: Our one and only album.
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: Our one and only album.
- 6:45SPEAKER_02: Uh back in 2010.
- 6:47SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 6:49SPEAKER_04: I had to I had to show one of the kids at school, and she was she was like, How many bands are you in, Mr.
- 6:53SPEAKER_04: Doug?
- 6:54SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, Four?
- 6:55SPEAKER_04: And her eyes got really big.
- 6:57SPEAKER_04: And I said, and I pulled out my phone and I said, This is my original band.
- 7:02SPEAKER_04: This is our album on uh on Spotify.
- 7:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:05SPEAKER_04: And she was like, Oh, you're on Spotify?
- 7:07SPEAKER_04: You have an album?
- 7:09SPEAKER_02: It's like, yeah, no, I'm a rock star.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: Um, but then I have all four subscribers on that.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: But then I I went and and looked at uh He's got three kids now.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: He's got four kids.
- 7:21SPEAKER_02: Oh, he's got four kids.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: I think so.
- 7:22SPEAKER_02: So so this is how we might remember him and Whitney.
- 7:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:26SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 7:28SPEAKER_04: Uh well he's lost a lot of weight.
- 7:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they both have.
- 7:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, they look great, both of them.
- 7:33SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: Anyway, uh I thought we should They're real adults now.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:38SPEAKER_02: Look, I think he's got four kids, right?
- 7:40SPEAKER_02: Let's see.
- 7:40SPEAKER_04: One, two, three, four.
- 7:42SPEAKER_04: What's that really tiny one over there?
- 7:43SPEAKER_04: Oh, it's a dog.
- 7:45unknown: Okay.
- 7:46SPEAKER_04: Nobody's holding his head.
- 7:47SPEAKER_04: He might they must not like him.
- 7:54SPEAKER_04: He's three year old.
- 7:55SPEAKER_04: We haven't even named him yet.
- 7:56SPEAKER_04: He sucks.
- 7:57SPEAKER_04: Doesn't do anything.
- 7:58SPEAKER_04: Shut up!
- 7:59SPEAKER_02: Oh, oh, speaking of naming babies, did you see that post that I made?
- 8:03SPEAKER_02: The six-seven babies.
- 8:04SPEAKER_02: Oh my word.
- 8:05SPEAKER_02: And that's gotta be that's gotta be a joke.
- 8:07SPEAKER_04: I hope it is.
- 8:07SPEAKER_04: I hope I hope it's an anfree thing.
- 8:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, if you don't know what we're talking about, there's a couple in Florida that's Florida.
- 8:14SPEAKER_02: It was it was the first baby of 2026 down in that happen that particular town or whatever.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: And to capitalize on the craze that's going around, they named their child 6'7.
- 8:26SPEAKER_04: 6'7.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: 6'7.
- 8:29SPEAKER_02: And I couldn't r figure out if it was a joke or not, and I hope it is a joke.
- 8:33SPEAKER_04: I think we should uh deport them.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: Uh well, I in deport them or you know, child protective services.
- 8:42SPEAKER_04: There's some child abuse going over there.
- 8:43SPEAKER_04: Why?
- 8:44SPEAKER_04: They just named their kid 6-7.
- 8:45SPEAKER_04: We're on our way.
- 8:47SPEAKER_04: Or the or the nurse.
- 8:50SPEAKER_02: Did you think of a name yet for your baby?
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we're we're gonna go with 6-7.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: 6-7.
- 8:53SPEAKER_04: I'll take him.
- 8:54SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 8:55SPEAKER_04: Security.
- 8:58SPEAKER_04: Would you please escort these people from the building?
- 9:00SPEAKER_04: Yes, my word.
- 9:01SPEAKER_04: That's just that's that's hard.
- 9:02SPEAKER_04: We're giving your child to a pack of wolves.
- 9:06SPEAKER_02: But I thought we could uh at some point we should reach out to Matt and have him on the show.
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: Oh, that'd be great.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: Like we're reminisce about the recording of the album.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that'd be great.
- 9:15SPEAKER_02: And speaking of that, um, I don't know if you you knew this.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: Um Dave McLaughlin.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: You probably don't remember Dave McLaughlin.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: Uh he was Matt Banker's teacher, his uh audio teacher.
- 9:27SPEAKER_04: Oh, he was the one that was all jazzed about our album.
- 9:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: He just passed.
- 9:30SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's too bad.
- 9:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:36SPEAKER_02: Um or anyway, he was uh and I'm not sure how he died, but yeah, he was uh he was awesome.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: He was one of my instructors too when I was there.
- 9:45SPEAKER_02: Uh but yeah, he loved our album.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, he was all about that.
- 9:48SPEAKER_02: You know, because I think a lot of times the they bring like heavy rock acts in there and and uh rap and things like that, and then Matt just brought this this three-piece band that was was uh straight up I don't even know what you call our music.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: Pop?
- 10:06SPEAKER_02: Pop rock?
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: And what would you call our music?
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: That album anyway.
- 10:11SPEAKER_04: It was pop folky rocky.
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: There is a folky element to it, yeah.
- 10:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, pop folk, rocky hop.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: Pop folk, rocky hop?
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: Hop.
- 10:28SPEAKER_02: Oh hop.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:29SPEAKER_02: Folk rock soul country?
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, four Osoko.
- 10:32SPEAKER_04: Four Osoko.
- 10:33SPEAKER_04: The Bacon Brothers uh four Osoko.
- 10:36SPEAKER_04: Um I think that I think that sums it up best.
- 10:39SPEAKER_04: It was a four so four O Soco.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: And maybe that's what we were going for.
- 10:41SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 10:42SPEAKER_02: Maybe I sat down the other day.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: It's funny that we were talking about this because um well on the last podcast I told you that uh the the exchange I had with Shane.
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: So I was at uh Mapleton last Thursday, I think it was, uh waiting for my first class to show up.
- 10:59SPEAKER_02: This must have been about twenty after eight in the morning, and I sat there with my guitar, and I just for some reason went into blum blum blum uh lying here away walking away, the one that you sang.
- 11:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: And I went through the whole song.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: I remembered it.
- 11:18SPEAKER_02: Muscle memory, I guess.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: Uh lyrically, it's okay.
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: But it's catchy.
- 11:26SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 11:27SPEAKER_04: That's a that's a cool tune.
- 11:28SPEAKER_04: Well, it's funny you say that because I was with Simon off today for half the day.
- 11:34SPEAKER_04: Most well actually most of the day.
- 11:36SPEAKER_04: And uh so I picked up a guitar and I did uh Gypsy?
- 11:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 11:42SPEAKER_04: Did you?
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: And I was like, oh.
- 11:45SPEAKER_04: You remembered it?
- 11:46SPEAKER_04: This is a good song.
- 11:48SPEAKER_04: Wonder who wrote it.
- 11:49SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, it was Brian.
- 11:50SPEAKER_04: He wrote it.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: Simon off here it.
- 11:53SPEAKER_04: No, he was he was that's why I was helping out because I he was busy.
- 11:57SPEAKER_04: He was doing some.
- 12:01SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's right.
- 12:02SPEAKER_04: So he's got a lot on his plate.
- 12:03SPEAKER_04: Plus, he's starting his musical.
- 12:05SPEAKER_04: Oh man.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so he's gonna be busy.
- 12:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's he just did auditions yesterday, so they were like he and Brandon were like deciding who was gonna do what, and I was sitting in on that.
- 12:16SPEAKER_04: And so they left, and a couple of the kids came in, and they're sitting there.
- 12:19SPEAKER_04: Doug, you were in there.
- 12:21SPEAKER_04: What did they say?
- 12:22SPEAKER_04: I'm like, who got what part?
- 12:23SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 12:24SPEAKER_04: I yeah, I played dumb.
- 12:25SPEAKER_04: I was like, I I don't really know who they were talking about, because you know, I know you guys, but I don't know anybody else.
- 12:30SPEAKER_04: I don't really know the part, so I wasn't really paying attention.
- 12:34SPEAKER_04: You could say they were very disappointed, but I was like, I'm not telling you anything.
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: I ain't no rat.
- 12:40SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: Um so I played uh anyway, I played through Walk It Away.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: What uh what else?
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: Uh there was another one that I started to oh the this blew me away.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: Do you remember Shane's song 442?
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: I always had a difficult time, those guitar fills, remembering them.
- 13:01SPEAKER_04: Do you remember that?
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: Well, it's on YouTube.
- 13:04SPEAKER_04: It is?
- 13:04SPEAKER_04: 442.
- 13:05SPEAKER_04: I was doing it on the night show with uh Danny Cash.
- 13:08SPEAKER_04: Oh no, no.
- 13:08SPEAKER_02: I'm do you remember me always having a hard time with remembering it.
- 13:11SPEAKER_04: But I said you like you nailed it on that.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Shane used to have to, you know, no, it goes like this.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: And uh and every every single time I would go to play that, I'd I'd I'd like get anxiety, like I'm I'm this, I'm gonna screw this up because I can't remember how it goes.
- 13:27SPEAKER_02: Uh even that night on the the late show when we did that performance.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: I was like, I don't know.
- 13:35SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 13:35SPEAKER_02: It's all messed up.
- 13:36SPEAKER_02: But how long has it been since we played that?
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: And I sat down That may be the last time we ever played it.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: In my music I think so.
- 13:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: In my music room at at uh Mapleton and and remembered the whole solo.
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: I was like, wow, that's kind of cool.
- 13:49SPEAKER_04: Well, I've been listening to C D I made we you made me for uh a while back, like last year, of stuff we want to put on the next potential album.
- 13:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:57SPEAKER_04: So I've been jamming out to that.
- 13:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:00SPEAKER_02: I think uh you know, I know we said this on the last podcast, but I think we can do it.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: I mean, I think we we I think we have to do it.
- 14:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think we have to do it.
- 14:09SPEAKER_04: There's no there's no think we can or yeah we need to.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: We have to.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: I think we have to look past our limitations, you know, and and at least I do.
- 14:19SPEAKER_02: And because I you know, I want it to sound really good.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 14:22SPEAKER_02: It's not gonna you know, it's not gonna be perfect, obviously, but nothing out there is really out there and uh let the chips fall where they may.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:37SPEAKER_04: Doritos.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Yum.
- 14:40SPEAKER_02: Um, so um a new tour was just or a new concert was just announced at in Bangor.
- 14:49SPEAKER_02: Uh not that I really want to go see it.
- 14:51SPEAKER_02: Five finger death punch.
- 14:53SPEAKER_04: Nah.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: Um but I will tell you, next year is shaping up to be a big year for concerts up here.
- 15:00SPEAKER_02: But there was one that was just announced.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: I think you probably saw it.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: And I went up to my wife and I said, Okay, this is the one I want to go to.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: It's in Massachusetts.
- 15:10SPEAKER_02: She's like, Okay.

- 15:21SPEAKER_02: Ah.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: And Rick Springfield.

- 15:33SPEAKER_02: Uh and it was I had said after I read his autobiography, he was kind of a puke.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: Uh, but I thought he's the one that made me want to play guitar.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: And I grew up on his music.
- 15:44SPEAKER_02: I love his music.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: Uh so I just because he's a garbage human being doesn't matter.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: I don't and I don't know that he's a garbage human being, but maybe he's changed his ways.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: He was just a dumb, dumb Well, who isn't?
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 15:56SPEAKER_02: You know, back then.

- 17:40SPEAKER_02: Um venue opened in 86 as Great Woods.
- 17:50SPEAKER_02: Um that's not what it was though when I uh Comcast Center.

- 17:58SPEAKER_02: Sounds right.
- 17:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.

- 18:05SPEAKER_02: Great Woods.
- 18:06SPEAKER_02: It started as Great Woods in the mid-80s, uh late 90s, turned to the Tweeter Center.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: Uh which and then that was in and then that ended in 2008.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: So yeah, it it would have been the Comcast Center.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: In Mansfield Mass.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: That's what I used to call it.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: Uh, but now it's the Xfinity Center.
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: Boys, the things that money can do, huh?
- 18:26SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: Uh sponsor.
- 18:27SPEAKER_04: I can't wait till we make money and we can name something after.
- 18:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I know, right?
- 18:31SPEAKER_04: The O'Brien and Doug outhouse.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: Your poop don't stay here.

- 19:03SPEAKER_04: I think that'd be great.
- 19:05SPEAKER_04: I think that'd be great.
- 19:07SPEAKER_04: Like on the ceiling.
- 19:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 19:09SPEAKER_04: Just you look up and you're like, oh, that's terrifying.
- 19:12SPEAKER_04: And we're pointing at you laughing.
- 19:13SPEAKER_04: We're just like.
- 19:17SPEAKER_04: Oh my goodness.
- 19:18SPEAKER_04: Maybe we could put like a little video screen embedded in the wall.
- 19:21SPEAKER_04: Just like pre-record of us things of us like just like saying stuff.
- 19:26SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 19:26SPEAKER_04: Like, how's it feel?
- 19:28SPEAKER_04: Do you have Taco Bell?
- 19:30SPEAKER_02: Sorry, Blanchard Children.
- 19:36SPEAKER_04: That water's cold, isn't it?
- 19:42SPEAKER_02: Oh my goodness.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: Um let's see.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, and I have a couple new songs to listen to.
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 19:48SPEAKER_02: Um The Black Crows.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: They have uh a new album.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: Well, they're going on tourna the this summer.
- 19:55SPEAKER_02: Yes, they are.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:57SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see.
- 19:58SPEAKER_02: Black Crows have released two new songs.
- 20:01SPEAKER_02: Uh it's the band's first new music since uh 2024's Happiness Bastards.

- 20:15SPEAKER_02: Set for release March 13th.
- 20:18SPEAKER_02: Um, and they're really happy with the new record.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: Of course they are.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: Nah, it's gonna suck.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Oh, you know what else before we we hear these.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: This may take us down a rabbit hole too.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 20:32SPEAKER_02: Um so yesterday I was homesick, and um let's see, what did I watch over the weekend?
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: I watched A War of the Worlds, Tom Cruise.
- 20:43SPEAKER_04: Oh, the Tom Cruise one?
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: Uh and I watched that on watched that on Saturday and uh had a fever and my wife is sitting in the living room, and I woke I fell asleep uh so I watched it like early in the day.
- 21:01SPEAKER_02: Fell asleep feverish, and the next thing I know, my wife is in in the bedroom with me in the dark.
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: You know, the the living room light is on, but I all I see is her silhouette, and she's like, What are you talking about?
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: I'm like, and then I wake up, I'm like, what do you mean?
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: She says, Are you okay?
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: So apparently I was dreaming and in some sort of fever state.
- 21:32SPEAKER_02: Like a fever dream.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: Because I was swearing.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: I was like, Where the hell is Myra?
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: I shouted that out, and she's like, I told you she was at the Blanchards.
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: She said that from the living room.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: And I said This is what she said.
- 21:46SPEAKER_02: I said, uh uh she didn't tell me what I said, but she said I was swearing.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: And I think it's because I watched War of the Worlds and I was like They're gonna get Myra.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: No.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: Where is Myra?
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: Were were you Tom Cruise in this dream?
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: No, I don't know.
- 22:08SPEAKER_02: I would no, I was dad.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah, well obviously I must have been Tom Cruise because he was the dad and that.
- 22:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:13SPEAKER_02: I don't know, but it was funny.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: Anyway, so yesterday I watched a couple of things.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: Um, but yesterday I was dialing around and on YouTube I found because on all the streaming services, you can't find uh Hootie and the Blowfish stuff.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 22:29SPEAKER_02: But I did find Summer Camp with Trucks on YouTube.
- 22:32SPEAKER_03: Oh yeah.
- 22:32SPEAKER_02: So I s I watched that.
- 22:33SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 22:34SPEAKER_02: And boy, didn't it put me back back there?
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: I know, doesn't it?
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: Is it nostalgic, man?
- 22:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: You know, and where he's he's uh some of the things that Darius did and that you couldn't get away with now.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: Oh no.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: You know, like where he's he's standing there and he's got the walkie-talkie, and he's talking to a guy from Dylan, uh Dylan Fence, and he's like, breaking one nine, and he's watching all the people walk by and then these these large women walk by, and he's like, those are some big ones.
- 23:07SPEAKER_02: I'm like, he would not get away with that.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: No, that would not make the video today.
- 23:12SPEAKER_02: They would not make the video today.
- 23:14SPEAKER_02: But no, it was kind of cool.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: It kind of brought me back, and I was like, Whoa, now we gotta record that album.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we gotta do some comic crossing stuff.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm saying, man.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: It just puts me back in that spot.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: Do it, you know.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: Do it! Um and then I went looking for, of course, I was on a different computer, I went looking for those files.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: Uh, but I I do have them here, I think.
- 23:32SPEAKER_02: Those songs that you were talking about.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: Because I think I have a playlist.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 23:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, new new new Comic Crossing album.
- 23:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, right there.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: Um Let me down easy.
- 23:44unknown: Oh man.
- 23:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:46SPEAKER_02: See, this yeah, we gotta do this.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: And and we gotta write some new stuff too.
- 23:51SPEAKER_02: We should just we should just record it all.
- 23:55SPEAKER_02: Just record it all.
- 23:56SPEAKER_04: And let's stop talking about it and let's do it.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: I know.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: It's just a matter of sitting down and doing it.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: It really is, because I'm not gonna lie to you.
- 24:07SPEAKER_02: I get home from from working with the kids.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: Well, you know, you're a sub now.
- 24:11SPEAKER_04: Aren't you tired when you get back?
- 24:13SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 24:14SPEAKER_04: I was in first grade and uh on Friday, and I was working with this little girl, and I was working with Hillary, uh Dusty.
- 24:22SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 24:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:24SPEAKER_04: She's the teacher there.
- 24:25SPEAKER_04: And she had written some vocabulary words on the board.
- 24:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:29SPEAKER_04: And they had this sheet of paper, and they had to find the vocabulary words.
- 24:33SPEAKER_04: So this little girl is literally doing this, like making goggles with her eyes and looking at the paper.
- 24:39SPEAKER_04: And I I am so trying not to laugh.
- 24:41SPEAKER_04: I'm just like, this is so freaking funny, but I cannot laugh.
- 24:45SPEAKER_04: You know, every time she was just like, I don't see it.
- 24:50SPEAKER_04: I don't oh, there it is! And then she wanted to like highlight it, then she'd do it again every single time, do it.
- 24:57SPEAKER_04: I'm just like, I looked at Hillary one point and I'm just like That's awesome.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: It was great.
- 25:03SPEAKER_02: That's fantastic.
- 25:04SPEAKER_04: But it is, it does get tiring.
- 25:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: I get home, of course.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: You know, I have things after school as well.
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: I'm running the ki running the kids here and and and doing other things, and uh by the time seven o'clock rolls around, I'm ready to crash.
- 25:19SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 25:19SPEAKER_04: I'm like yawning on my hoof.
- 25:21SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: And so, I mean, it but I should come down here and and work on one song a night.
- 25:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: You know, or or one song for a week, you know, or something like that.
- 25:33SPEAKER_04: Is there any way you can transfer that digitally to me?
- 25:36SPEAKER_02: Transfer what digitally?
- 25:38SPEAKER_04: That that playlist with the new Common Crossing album so I can work on it at home.
- 25:43SPEAKER_04: I have it on a CD, but I don't have a C D player with my drums.
- 25:47SPEAKER_04: I only have my iPad.
- 25:49SPEAKER_02: I can put it in Dropbox and you can download it from Dropbox.
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:55SPEAKER_02: I don't know how you would you would you put it in your iTunes?
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: Is that what you would do?
- 25:58SPEAKER_04: Uh try, yeah.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: But I can yeah, I can send those to you.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 26:03SPEAKER_02: Um I digress.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we we do.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: We need to do it.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: We need to do it.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know, man.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:09SPEAKER_02: That's what I'm saying.
- 26:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:10SPEAKER_04: Stop talking, let's do.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: It's so hard.
- 26:14SPEAKER_04: That's what she said.
- 26:18SPEAKER_04: Dang it.
- 26:19SPEAKER_04: You just a second week.
- 26:22SPEAKER_04: This is backfired on you.
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: I'm still getting it.
- 26:27SPEAKER_02: You gotta you gotta like label those.
- 26:29SPEAKER_02: Um they are labeled.
- 26:32SPEAKER_02: I just I'm looking at the levels here.
- 26:33SPEAKER_02: I can I can go, I can click on this, and they all come up.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 26:38SPEAKER_02: You know, I should uh maybe I just shouldn't look at the levels.
- 26:41SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 26:42SPEAKER_02: No levels! No levels.
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: Um what was I doing?
- 26:46SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, black crows.
- 26:49SPEAKER_04: We have no idea what's happening in this podcast.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: Um so the first song is called what's it called?
- 26:55SPEAKER_02: It's called uh Profane Prophecy.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: All right.
- 26:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:00SPEAKER_02: Sounds cool.
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, sounds sounds interesting.
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: Uh let's listen to the Black Crows.
- 27:05SPEAKER_02: Profane prophecy.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, hold on.
- 27:15SPEAKER_02: That off.
- 27:16SPEAKER_02: Let me start that over.
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: That sounded like the Rolling Stones already.
- 28:07SPEAKER_04: It does not sound?
- 28:08SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, it does, but it doesn't.
- 28:10SPEAKER_04: It's well, it sounds like Rolling Stones.
- 28:12SPEAKER_04: It sounds like the Black Crows covering the Rolling Stones, doing a Black Crow song.
- 28:16SPEAKER_04: But it also has a little bit of jet in there.
- 28:19SPEAKER_04: Good.
- 28:19SPEAKER_04: All right.
- 28:20SPEAKER_02: I didn't pick up on that, but but I mean it's I don't know if it's the way he's singing it.
- 28:23SPEAKER_02: Uh good.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah.
- 28:25SPEAKER_02: I mean, he does have a Yeah.
- 28:30unknown: Right on.
- 28:31SPEAKER_04: Still, what's his face, right?
- 28:32SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 28:37SPEAKER_02: See, I when I think of Black Rose, I think of Jealous Again, twice as hard.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: Or even uh stuff from um uh Remedy, you know?
- 28:47SPEAKER_02: Just very, you know.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: I'm just gonna go off on another.
- 29:38SPEAKER_02: I think we get the idea.
- 29:39SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's I like it.
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's pretty good.
- 29:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'm not I'm not saying I don't like it.
- 29:43SPEAKER_04: But it it does sound like the black crows imitating the Rolling Stones doing a black crow song.
- 29:49SPEAKER_02: I guess maybe that's the best way to put it.
- 29:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:52SPEAKER_02: Um that's my take.
- 29:54SPEAKER_02: That's profane prophecy.
- 29:56SPEAKER_02: Uh and then uh we have another one called Pharmacy Chronicles.
- 30:01SPEAKER_02: Should be interesting.
- 30:02SPEAKER_02: These are great titles, actually.
- 30:04SPEAKER_04: They're actually very, very clever.
- 30:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:16SPEAKER_02: Already this sounds my horses.
- 30:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I do think it already sounds more like the black crows than the other one.
- 31:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I like I said, I don't dislike it.
- 31:44SPEAKER_02: I like it's it they're both pretty good.
- 31:46SPEAKER_02: I um but can I say this without sounding like a snob?
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: I've heard it before.
- 31:54SPEAKER_02: Do you know what I mean?
- 31:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:56SPEAKER_02: It's what what do we call that?
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: When you know what to expect?
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: McDonald's drive-thru.
- 32:00SPEAKER_02: McDonald's drive-thru.
- 32:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: Um I mean, it's you you you know what to expect from them.
- 32:06SPEAKER_02: They do what they do.
- 32:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 32:08SPEAKER_02: Uh, and they do it very well.
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: No doubt.
- 32:11SPEAKER_02: I don't know that I'll go buy it.
- 32:13SPEAKER_04: I probably won't.
- 32:14SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's good.
- 32:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 32:15SPEAKER_04: I mean, if I I if I was on streaming and these songs came up, I'd be like, oh, he's great.
- 32:21SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 32:21SPEAKER_04: You know, but I wouldn't, I'm not gonna buy the album.
- 32:24SPEAKER_02: Did you see the footage of um the rock hall um doing goodbye with a little help, a little help from my friends?
- 32:32SPEAKER_02: No.
- 32:33SPEAKER_02: Um Susan Tedeschi was singing, uh Cindy Lauper was there, um, Chris Robinson from the Black Crows, Nathaniel Radcliffe, who's a kind of a soul singer, really powerful, uh, and somebody else.
- 32:46SPEAKER_02: There was one or two other O'Brien Adams was there, and there was one or two other uh younger ones.
- 32:52SPEAKER_02: But they were doing uh Susan Tedeschi did the it was really great.
- 32:59SPEAKER_02: But Chris Robinson, when it comes to like ad-libbing, nonsensical words, just like it's not scat singing, but it's he's he's horrific.
- 33:12SPEAKER_02: He's horrific.
- 33:13SPEAKER_02: He is just one of the best at that.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: He's got that smoky, you know, gritty voice, powerful, soulful voice.

- 33:50SPEAKER_04: Probably.
- 33:51SPEAKER_04: So why did he die?
- 33:55SPEAKER_02: That was my joke.
- 33:56SPEAKER_04: Maybe we thought about it.
- 33:57SPEAKER_02: Well, maybe we did, and we just didn't say it.
- 33:59SPEAKER_02: We were just like Bob Weir.
- 34:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 34:03SPEAKER_04: What are you gonna do?

- 35:26SPEAKER_04: Next one.
- 35:27SPEAKER_04: Is this another song?

- 35:54SPEAKER_04: Downtown.
- 35:54SPEAKER_04: We'll just put it out.
- 35:55SPEAKER_04: Like when we play a gig, we'll just be like with our face up.

- 43:35SPEAKER_00: Uh, but I definitely had to go with Doug.
- 43:38SPEAKER_00: Um that is an epic first song for a mixtape for road trip.

- 43:47SPEAKER_00: It's just that being said, I did love all three picks.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: Uh and I do apologize for my slip last week.
- 43:54SPEAKER_00: It was absolutely O'Brien's pick.

- 45:02SPEAKER_02: I'm sure we will.
- 45:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.

- 45:51SPEAKER_04: Maybe we are.
- 45:52SPEAKER_04: Maybe I need a new mixtape.
- 45:56SPEAKER_04: Well, apparently I put them all in the same place.
- 46:00SPEAKER_04: So pull from the other place.
- 46:02SPEAKER_04: What the frag, dude?
- 46:04SPEAKER_02: Are those like all these ones we've done?
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: So you're pulling from the wrong end.
- 46:08SPEAKER_02: Apparently.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: That's what I was doing all weekend long.
- 46:14SPEAKER_03: That's gross.
- 46:18SPEAKER_02: My goodness.
- 46:23SPEAKER_04: We've done that one.

- 46:45SPEAKER_02: No.
- 46:45unknown: Oh.
- 46:46SPEAKER_04: Well then negative, sir.
- 46:47SPEAKER_04: That's probably why you didn't get it.

- 47:19SPEAKER_02: Why is it I don't know.
- 47:21SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 47:21SPEAKER_02: It's a typo.

- 1:02:02SPEAKER_02: Not that it's bad.
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_02: It's oh no, no, no.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_04: Not bad at all.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_02: Uh let's see.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_02: That sounds like McCartney.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_10: Never done.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_10: Ever?
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_10: I don't think I can think it's not what I find interesting about McCartney.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_02: You know how prolific he is and how I mean he can sit down and write a song about nothing in no time at all.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:03:37SPEAKER_02: And it's usually pretty good.
- 1:03:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:03:40SPEAKER_02: Uh this came out in what year is this?
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_02: Um 2018.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_02: So streaming was a thing, but it wasn't what it is today.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_02: Um you know, peop people today aren't putting out records as much, but when they do put out records, there's just more on them.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_02: This is a great example because there are 18 tracks on this album.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_02: Nice! Uh here's one you may know.
- 1:04:15SPEAKER_02: This was a single.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_02: I don't know how much of this was played on the radio.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_02: This uh this album this album, yeah.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_11: I told you that tomorrow.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_02: Would you say you asked um height of popularity and I said sixties.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_02: Would you stay the sixties?
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_02: Or because all of those people that loved him in the 60s still love him today, usually.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_02: But he's there's so many more people that know who he is today.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_02: You think?
- 1:05:15SPEAKER_02: Like, so is he more popular today than he was then?
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_02: Because Beatlemania was pretty big.
- 1:05:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:23SPEAKER_04: I mean, people barely know who the Beatles are anymore.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_02: What was it, Kanye?
- 1:05:30SPEAKER_02: That's do you remember what Kanye said?
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_02: No, it wasn't Kanye.
- 1:05:33SPEAKER_02: Oh no, it was somebody about Kanye.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_02: But Kanye did a song with McCartney or something.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_04: And they were just like, oh, look at Kanye giving this guy a boost.
- 1:05:41SPEAKER_04: I'm like, yeah, who is this Paul McCartney guy?
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_04: You're a moron.
- 1:05:45SPEAKER_04: You are a moron.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_02: Um, you got another one you want to.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_02: Hear off this?
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_02: Let's do um read this screen.
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_02: Um actually, how about this one?
