- 0:30on? Bobbing your head? Whoa? Yeah uh? I am in an
- 0:36ai art created starship Bridge. Well you got me beat. Yeah, it's
- 0:43not too bad. You're taking my stick. I's going. Everybody, Hey,
- 0:55it's going. It's volume bad a little bit. Scott, Yeah,
- 1:00it's good. Oh yeah, we were just talking about that. I'm trying.
- 1:03I'm trying to to to you know, get this dialed in as far
- 1:06as like how loud I am on the on the podcast, as loud as
- 1:10you want, Buddy, I'll remember that. Good morning Bronson, Hey,
- 1:15good morning. Yeah. So welcome to trek Cast's most unpredictable Star Trek podcast.
- 1:26I'm one of your co hosts, Scott, and with me is Dan
- 1:30and Daniel. Which one's Dan? Which one's Daniel? He's not Dan.
- 1:37Oh, you're each art this one. I do this one. I do
- 1:38know each R. Nope, don't know it. It sounds familiar, it
- 1:42sounds it sounds voyagery. He's the the accountant right for Janeway. All the
- 1:52expenses come on, come on, each R, EACHR O. You guys,
- 2:04it's got to be either you know, one of the Star Trek series,
- 2:07either Next Gen or it must be one of the sci fi series.
- 2:15He wasn't that the Ninth Sun? Enough is each heard the little bear that
- 2:23helps Leah defeat Uh, let's see, is that Eache's father? Each r?
- 2:32Yes? Oh god, okay, yeah, okay, that one.
- 2:39Yeah, I totally pulled that out of a little bit, but right right,
- 2:49Yeah, Eachr was O'Brien sell me in the or the one who he
- 3:00killed for a scrap of food. Yeah, he wasn't real. Even though
- 3:05it wasn't real, he feels about it. O'Brien always got just the short
- 3:10end of the stick, yeah, uh, and the long end of it
- 3:15went right up his bum. I mean, you know, well, I'm
- 3:21just saying he was you know it was it was episode it was. Yeah.
- 3:28Well, whenever I think about that episode, I think about the the
- 3:32Card episode when when he uh uh lived that other life, you know,
- 3:40that entire lifetime. The name of the episodes Escaping Me with the riskin Flute
- 3:46and Inner Light, Yeah, inter Light, And it's like they both kind
- 3:52of lived an extra lifetime, but slightly different lives. Yeah. Yeah,
- 3:59there's a there's a out there that's got that probe from the inner light and
- 4:02it's just learned to play the flute in four hours, right. Indeed,
- 4:15Yeah, poor O'Brien, he's a lot of therapy. Oh God, that
- 4:18poor man. Indeed, he must suffer. Yeah, well you guys doing
- 4:28good this week? Uh it's like hath here, same yeah, same,
- 4:34I've had enough. Yeah, eighteen inches of snow and although last week it
- 4:40was negative ten degrees and next week they're calling for rain. So yeah,
- 4:46we're getting our rain right now, so it'll it'll melt it all down,
- 4:48I think. But we got our We got our rain the week before and
- 4:54a few weeks ago, you remember the ground floor of my house flooded right
- 4:59right right. We ripped the carpets up, dried everything out, Uh,
- 5:05got area rugs to put down mm hmm. Instead of wall to wall carpet,
- 5:10we got area rugs that were just about the size of the room.
- 5:14Put everything back in there. And then like two weeks later, they're like,
- 5:18we're gonna get all this rain, So what do we do. We
- 5:21play everything out of that room, pull those carpets up, roll them up,
- 5:26elevate them so they don't get wet, and uh, you know,
- 5:30we got some water and we and you know, we cleaned it up,
- 5:32but we haven't put them back down yet. And it's been so cold that
- 5:38the floor down there, just walking across that floor so cold, so cold.
- 5:46Yeah, or I need a couple of tons tons that I can just
- 5:48come there. There you go lay them about the smell worse on the inside.
- 5:54They do, Yeah, there, they do a waiting game. Wants
- 5:59to know if you warmed up the shod today. I tried, Yeah,
- 6:03it's well, it's cold. And here's the thing. Once the show starts,
- 6:08I turned you know, I turned the fan down because I don't think
- 6:11you want this backgrounds right right right, yeah, which sounds like the impulse
- 6:15engines. I was just gonna say, is it the impulse sentence? Because
- 6:18we could just go with that, Yeah, use it to help us fall
- 6:23asleep. I mean, I'm in a whole spaceship and you don't hear the
- 6:26engines on mine. I'm just saying, you know what you want to brag
- 6:29about spaceships? That's Do you remember a few years ago we experimented with like
- 6:33different background Yeah, while we were doing the podcast. Yeah, I remember
- 6:39that. I think we did one where the you know, the background was
- 6:42just the the engine noise and the I remember commenting on that begging you guys,
- 6:46please, for the love of Q stop doing that. Next week it
- 6:55was, oh my god, it was so horrible, like every because it
- 6:58would be like the background, but then also every like few seconds it would
- 7:00make like a beat, beep, noise or whatever. Yo, that's it.
- 7:05That's it. Oh it was bad. You mean background music kind of
- 7:10like this. It's going right now? All right, Well it's been a
- 7:14good run on trek Cast. Guy. Yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly,
- 7:18all right, I made it stop. I made it. You get
- 7:21excited because every time we heard the turbo lift doors, was like, oh,
- 7:26it is David coming back. Yeah, it is David walking onto the
- 7:30bridge. Is that this? Yeah? Exactly. Well let's get to the
- 7:42news. Yeah, stars, all right, so our first news story comes
- 7:49to today from screen rant and uh, you know over here on trek Cast,
- 7:55we we love ours. He's our boy. Even had the memorial sci
- 8:00fi movie tournament. But finally, in a u in a interview recently,
- 8:07two Bick's actor two Bix himself, Tom Wright, finally waited on the controversy
- 8:11whether or not our Special Boys should have been allowed to live or not and
- 8:16so on the interview, he said, quote speaking as the character, every
- 8:22entity alive is hardwired to survive. So that that's what's going on, uh
- 8:28with Cubicks thinking, But myself, as an actor, I saw that he
- 8:31had to go. It wasn't enough justification for losing two entities for the sake
- 8:37of one. I absolutely love the character. So how much of that did
- 8:41you catch? Dan? He was cutting out? He was cutting So basically
- 8:46Tom Wright said that Cubicks had to go. Yeah, okay, So here's
- 8:52here's the thing with that he played right. If he were to come out
- 9:00and say I should have kept him around for the next six seasons, see
- 9:05right through that, that's an actor lobbying for work or or you know,
- 9:11well not lobbying. I mean, this show went off the air twenty years
- 9:13ago. But you know that's an actor saying I should have gotten more work.
- 9:18Sorry, I don't know, I don't know if I believe him.
- 9:20Plus, you know, I don't care if he played two. He's wrong.
- 9:22She murdered right, she murdered him right, And who cares? But
- 9:28the actor that played the character. Does the actor who plays the character,
- 9:31if anything, really have that much say about the universe storyline. I mean,
- 9:37Bruce Willis said that Diehard wasn't a Christmas movie recently, So we don't
- 9:43believe that, do we. He's wrong, I mean obviously. So yeah,
- 9:48why I say that, I mean dismissive. That's how you smelled dismissive.
- 10:01All right. So our next news story comes to us from space dot
- 10:03com. And you know Dan used to say sometimes he's star Trek and other
- 10:09things. Oh yeah, everywhere. Yeah, NASA is seeing it too.
- 10:13They're seeing it on Mars. So let me show you this picture. Tell
- 10:16me if you notice anything. Oh yeah, curios the delta. Yeah yeah,
- 10:24so somebody left their communicator badge on Mars clearly, but or it or
- 10:31it's an Indian arrowhead, you know, right right, the two right right.
- 10:39Yeah, it's cool. It's you know, it's definitely neat to see.
- 10:43You know, it's very clearly a case of paradilia where you see patterns
- 10:46that aren't there. You see you know, who's a big fan of who's
- 10:50that loves it? Loves it? He sees patterns and things. Yeah,
- 10:56that's all. He's such a good accountant. He sees what the the money
- 11:01is going. He figures it out, he sees those patterns. Yeah,
- 11:07he didn't been great at that. That thing we did in high school where
- 11:09you take a piece of paper and you just start making little patterns on it
- 11:11until it grows throughout the entire sheet. Oh yeah, yeah, you know,
- 11:18I drew a lot of those, was talking about. I was busy
- 11:20doing math. Oh school work. Yeah, I didn't do that. That's
- 11:26right, that's right. That's like, you know, you ever see those
- 11:28You ever see those things on Facebook? And it's like it's a list of,
- 11:33you know, things I wish they taught in high school. Mm hmm.
- 11:37You know it was like how to do laundry, how to do taxes,
- 11:39how to write a resume. And I read that and I'm like,
- 11:43I learned all that shit in high school. Are you you just weren't paying
- 11:48attention? Probably? Probably? Probably? Yeah. All right, And our
- 11:58last news story comes to us from MeTV dot com, and apparently we're learning
- 12:03a little bit more about the behind the scenes of the Star Trek Original Motion
- 12:07Picture and apparently, uh, there were fans who were trying to break into
- 12:15Paramount to get some of the movie props as the movie was being made,
- 12:20and so uh to counter that Paramount had to hire an army of security guards
- 12:28twenty four to seven to protect key props, like yeah, they get the
- 12:41click adversaries. Yeah, so it's uh, it's kind of interesting that that's
- 12:48what happened, you know. I thought that was a fun story. Yeah,
- 12:52that's all the news even back then, back in the late seventies.
- 12:56They wow, oh yeah, people take anything that's not nailed down. That's
- 13:03just the way. Yeah, man, I would have taken a phase or
- 13:07one not Yeah, I mean TG remember being somewhere that eventually you had to
- 13:18sign out your combatge. Those things were just walking off like crazy. They
- 13:22well, I mean to be fair of paramounts leaving it locked behind doors inside
- 13:30their studio, they're just asking for it to be stolen. Yeah exactly.
- 13:33Yeah, all right, let's get to our main topic. Fun will now
- 13:45come. All right, So our main topic. We watched a documentary mind
- 13:56Meld Secrets behind you're cutting out again, Daniel. I don't know if i'm
- 14:03here, I'm here, I don't know if you can either get closer or
- 14:07what. But is this better? Yeah? Actually no, it's got to
- 14:11be while you're doing something, right, Like, it's got to be while
- 14:13you're scrolling or I'm wondering. I'm wondering if the background is giving me problems,
- 14:22because that's the first time I've tried. You know, it's it seems
- 14:24to me and Dan, maybe you can confirm this that anytime you're reading from
- 14:28something, it does it. When anytime you're reading from something, yeah,
- 14:33stop reading, no more reading. Memorize everything everything. Thief Apparently he took
- 14:43a dog of a prop poster from Kevin Smith's comic shop. Oh that's fair.
- 14:48Yeah, there's a movie people don't talk about Dogma love it, absolutely
- 14:52love it. Yeah. Nice. Yeah. So this was a documentary from
- 15:01from two thousand and one, honestly, which is funny because you know,
- 15:05this documentary is so old they could make a documentary about it. Right,
- 15:11It looks old watching it? It looks old. Yeah, well, you
- 15:16know what, I don't think it looks old. I think I feel old
- 15:22watching it because that's I know it's old, but it doesn't look old.
- 15:28But I because you can picture yourself back in twenty oh one, yes,
- 15:31right, right, right, so you're like, oh, that wasn't that
- 15:35long ago, that was twenty two years ago. Yeah, and then I
- 15:39run out of fingers counting it right, right, Well, the thing that
- 15:43threw me off, you know, watching this thing. So for those of
- 15:46you who don't know, it's not really a documentary, it's more of an
- 15:50interview between the two of them, right, it's just a conversation between learning,
- 15:54the conversation between Leonarding and William Shatner. Yeah. According to the Wikipedia,
- 16:03this documentary was originally released as promotion for William Shatner's personal website, and
- 16:11that this documentary was available through it, and so that's how they got it
- 16:15out there, which I could totally see. That checks with when you watch
- 16:19it. It kind of fits like, so I'm watching this, yeah,
- 16:27and and I couldn't help asking myself how much of this is genuine and how
- 16:33much of this is acting? These these are two actors talking with each other.
- 16:41Right, And now that you say it was essentially a commercial for a
- 16:48website, I don't know it's there. There was no earth chattering revelations in
- 16:59this thing, No, no, but you know they're but there was some
- 17:06pretty candid talk about addiction and relationships and yeah, yeah, and you know
- 17:11you're my best friend. You're my best friend, right, And I can't
- 17:15help but wonder how much of that is genuine, and how much of that
- 17:19was was drummed up a little bit for the you know, to make it
- 17:25make it exciting. You know. One thing that I that I thought was
- 17:29interesting. And in one part they start talking about how William Shatner is not
- 17:33the most loved cast member of the show, right, and how all the
- 17:38other characters you know, kind of had issues with him. Right, That's
- 17:45not what they said. They said everyone else was jealous. Right, That's
- 17:48what I was going to get at it. Yeah, it was very much
- 17:53they didn't know their place, you know, which was crazy. Well,
- 18:00yes, yes, and no, I mean in any organization, there is
- 18:04a there is a pecking order. There is always there's always a pecking order,
- 18:11you know. Here on this show, it's me, Daniel, Me
- 18:14again and then Scotty and we accept it. We accept it. Yeah,
- 18:25that would have been perfect the show had Jerry Springer. But I mean,
- 18:30you know, not to not to take a dump on anyone, but uh,
- 18:36I love I love, I love Walter Kinnig, but you know,
- 18:40he wasn't even in all three seasons, you know, so and I'm not
- 18:45saying he feels this way, but if he feels that he is on par
- 18:49with William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy. He's wrong, correct, And that's what
- 18:56they sort of were saying in the documentary. It was really, yeah,
- 18:59it was really Kirk's bach McCoy was. It was William Jattner, Leonard Nimoy
- 19:03Intoforest Kelly and the rest of them were just sort of background characters for the
- 19:07most part. Yeah, yeah, I mean, and that's evidenced by the
- 19:11fact, you know, if you know anything about their their contracts, you
- 19:18know, Shatner and Nimoy had reciprocal contracts, so there were clauses in each
- 19:25of their contracts. If Leonard gets something, William gets it. William gets
- 19:30something, Leonard gets it. The only reason, the only reason that William
- 19:33Shatner was able to direct Star Trek five is because Leonard Nimoy directed UH three
- 19:41and four. Right, They were obligated to let him direct it, and
- 19:47we and we all know how that worked out. So yeah, so my
- 19:52point is, you know, even even the studio recognized these are the stars
- 19:56of the show and these are not you know, yeah, George de Kay
- 20:00didn't get to direct right, right, Never, it was never even an
- 20:06option, never even discussed one thing that you know, kind of good.
- 20:12Go ahead. Oh, one thing that I thought was kind of interesting is
- 20:18very almost straight up said William Shatner, is very much the kind of person
- 20:23who kind of glosses things over, whereas Leonard Nimoy is very much like,
- 20:27no, I remember that and this is how it went down, right right,
- 20:32Yeah, yeah. I was just gonna say it's it's fresh in my
- 20:36memory right now about how things were on the show because I'm halfway through the
- 20:38second season of the original series, so you know, I can tell you
- 20:42from a recent first hand watching experience, it is very much the Kirk back
- 20:48McCoy show. And you know it's it's you know, the rest of them
- 20:55that don't really even have any a plot storylines for the most part. You
- 21:03know, it's it's all either all about Kirk, all about Spoker, you
- 21:06know, all about McCoy, you know, with none of them have like
- 21:11I said, yeah, they don't have a plot storylines, and you know
- 21:15they do every now and then, but that's it, right, And which
- 21:19is a little bit different than I think like Next Gen and d S nine
- 21:25and Voyager especially some of the older stuff is they did do you know they
- 21:29would do a b Sheer centric storyline, or they would do a Jordi centric
- 21:33storyline every once in a while. Right, Yeah, you know, the
- 21:38the character name that I chose for today, each that's from an episode that
- 21:45was you know, was O'Brien asked me something else that happened in that episode.
- 21:51I have no idea. I'm sure there was a nobody knows what the
- 21:53b line was. I'm sure there was a story to that episode. I
- 21:57don't know what Cisco was doing in his office. No idea, no idea,
- 22:02right, because that was an O'Brien shaw, and they didn't do that
- 22:04back in the sixties. There was no at all. This is the Ahura
- 22:10episode. It was Kirk Spock, McCoy right, mm hmm. And even
- 22:15even watching the movies, you see that. So in Star Trek five,
- 22:26you know, the whole crew didn't go camping. Mm hmmm. It was
- 22:30Kirk, Spock and becoy. They grabbed their baked beans and their marshmallows and
- 22:33they went and they went camping and check off and uh and Zulu went hiking
- 22:41because they were you know, they were over here. There's there's clicks in
- 22:45every organization. There's a pecking order in this clicks in every organization. That's
- 22:49just reality. But according to Wikipedia, this documentary was very well received.
- 22:57People thought it was pretty interesting scene. I think I saw it before,
- 23:03Like, oh, did you think I did? I think I never saw
- 23:07it when they showed a wide angle and I realized that William Shattnan was wearing
- 23:11sandals with jeans. Right, I think I cringed twice twenty years apart.
- 23:18Yeah, the fashion choices in the show were a little bit interesting, you
- 23:22know what. I'm like, Okay, it's twenty something years later. Is
- 23:25he wearing crocs and jeans? Yeah? I wonder whose house that was?
- 23:33You know it really I don't like it was Lenna Anymoys? Oh was it?
- 23:37I mean it could have been. Yeah, Well they did the there
- 23:41was a few scenes where they weren't sitting outside in the gardens look yeah,
- 23:45and and it looked like it was Leonard Nimoy legitimate like his basement or whatever.
- 23:52So I would imagine they filmed it right a rightish Leonard Neimoy's house potentially
- 23:57where they filmed that another day at his house us mhm, right, I
- 24:03don't know. I couldn't tell if he was still wearing crocs and jeans,
- 24:07that's right, that's right. You know the only reason I did. I
- 24:10did enjoy. But when when Leonard shows him the picture on the wall and
- 24:15he says, do you do you have this one? He says, no,
- 24:17I don't have this one. He says, take it, it's yours.
- 24:19Okay, you just take took it off the wall, okay, yeah,
- 24:26take this my house, wrap it up. You're supposed to protest at
- 24:33least once. Yeah, right, yeah, please, I want you to
- 24:38have it. You know're supposed to do that. Yeah right. He was
- 24:41like, no, none of that. What's that Japanese courtesy custom where you
- 24:48deny three times before you accept something? Yeah, that's it's not William Shatter.
- 24:53No, he's efficient. He's getting right to it. I'll take that.
- 24:57Well yeah yeah yeah, IMDb eight ten. But interestingly, there are
- 25:08no trivia effects about the documentary, which to me tells me that it you
- 25:15know, it might have been well received, it just wasn't you know,
- 25:18didn't have a widespread Yeah. I don't think it was like the most popular
- 25:21documentary out there. But you know, for those of you who after,
- 25:23because I'm sure like Trekkis has a ton of trivia. Oh I'm sure,
- 25:27it's free on two B you know, so you guys can watch it.
- 25:30Yeah, it's pretty quick. It's what like seventy five minutes maybe, yeah,
- 25:37just over an hour. Yeah, and to be is cool because you
- 25:41don't have to sign in. No. Yeah. No. So something I
- 25:47did pick up on we know that we lost Leonard to uh. I think
- 25:56it was COPD that he died of use me, which you often get after
- 26:03decades of smoking. And he made reference in this documentary to having quit smoking.
- 26:11I think it about ten years earlier. Is that what he is?
- 26:14That what he had said? Yeah about that? Yeah, yeah, twelve
- 26:18yeah, but he still sounds like a smoker. Yeah, like he had
- 26:25that like that gravel gravelly voice, and he was clearing his throat all the
- 26:30time. And I quit smoking about ten years ago and I still, yeah,
- 26:36I still clear my throat a lot. So I saw that. I
- 26:40yeah, we all do. Yeah, I quit. I quit smoking about
- 26:45fifteen years ago. So yeah, yeah, so good friends. I mean
- 26:52I didn't get their sexy voice. You got. But another thing that the
- 26:56Wikipedia what do you do? I did not at but apparently at the fifty
- 27:03two minutes and forty seven second mark, there is an audible fart from William
- 27:08Shatner. Shut up. No, that's like Wikipedia, and hold on,
- 27:18let's see if this will work because they have an audio clip on the on
- 27:22the on the Wikipedia. So let me play this for you guys. So
- 27:26hold on, have been so minute? Like maybe that did? Thank So
- 27:37there you go. That can't be real, no way. Well, I
- 27:41guess we have to go back and jack Captain Kirk ripping one. I'll be
- 27:56Sunday noon after this, before the Lions game. Yeah, Grandpa was comfortable
- 28:02and just let it go. Yeah, but when you're seventy you can get
- 28:10away with crap like that, right, Yeah? Absolutely? Oh is that
- 28:18so the shot? Yeah, back a shart. I mean at that age,
- 28:25that's a real gamble, right sure. Yeah, here comes all the
- 28:30drugs now. Yeah. He might have changed his pants after that one.
- 28:37Mm hmmm hmm. Yeah. So yeah, So I I enjoyed it.
- 28:44Did you guys enjoy this thing? Yeah? It was fun? Yeah,
- 28:48definitely very much. So yeah, definitely different. But there's really not a
- 28:52lot to unpack from it. I mean it was yeah, so Scott,
- 28:56you said you were gonna watch that it was a pretty straightfor or documentary.
- 29:03Yes, I did. I'm I'm detecting that I might ad a delay to
- 29:04you guys. Yeah, I think you Okay, I'm gonna reset, okay,
- 29:12okay, So he's resetting. That's my thing. That's right. I
- 29:18reset around here. I fly the ship. Yeah, I fly the ship.
- 29:22I reset. I wear the sunglasses. You guys, learn your place.
- 29:27Dang all right, Shatner, I told you it's me you me again,
- 29:36and then him, Oh my god, shut your mouth. I know
- 29:41your role like the Rockies say, oh my god. You know what I
- 29:47would be interested to see that. I mean, there's not well, there's
- 29:52nobody left anymore. So who so who's left? He got Shatner, k
- 29:56Nig and it's okay, right right. I'd like to see a documentary like
- 30:07this one, but it's George de Kay and Walter Knig. Oh, that'd
- 30:11be interesting, and see what they have to say about everyone else. I
- 30:18mean you can basically see that, you can basically see that most conventions.
- 30:23Yeah that's true. Yeah, I mean that's kind of what this is,
- 30:26you know. Yeah, Yeah, that's true. I saw clip recently from
- 30:33the Comedy Central Celebrity Roast and William Shatner and George Kay was there oh.
- 30:41I mean, you know, he did his roast and he ended it by
- 30:45saying, you know, Bill, I've wanted to tell you something for a
- 30:48long time. F you and the horse you rode in on. Wow,
- 30:56it's it's a roast. They're supposed to insult each other and be funny about
- 31:00it, but you know I felt it. It was you know, he
- 31:04can't stand him. They cannot stand each other at all. Yeah, yeah,
- 31:10there is Okay, how about that? Yeah much better? Can you
- 31:12hear me? Okay, yeah, much much better. That's right. Yeah,
- 31:18all right, Well should we get to feedback? Sure? Okay,
- 31:26let's get to feedback listener, feedback listener feedback. Yeah. So we did
- 31:38get one question while we were going on about the documentary. It came into
- 31:44us from Instagram. It was from some lady and it says some lady,
- 31:51Well, it's just all I see is the image of her of her I
- 31:56don't know. So yeah, so it says, you guys think that What
- 32:01do you guys think about the rumors of a new Star Trek movie? What
- 32:05do you expect to see from it? I mean, there's what like three
- 32:09or four of them in the works allegedly right now. I don't know.
- 32:13Yeah, yeah, who could take any of it seriously? Yeah, because
- 32:19we got what section thirty one, we've got allegedly Star Trek four, and
- 32:22then we allegedly have the prequel that's to the JJ universe, the Kelvin universe.
- 32:30Well there's another one because even uh Patrick Stewart last week, right,
- 32:34Okay, so yeah, there's far Yeah, so there's four in the works
- 32:37allegedly. To me, it sounds like anytime they even just start on a
- 32:43script to kind of see where it goes, they announce it. And that's
- 32:46how you kind of like kill the excitement for anything, right, because we're
- 32:50all like, I mean, they could tell us this amazing film is coming
- 32:53out, you know, a DS nine reboot movie, and we'd be like,
- 32:58well, I guess we'll see, because we're not excited anymore because they
- 33:02burned us so much. Right, so many fan made things, well you
- 33:07know, and we've we we've done our pitch shows over the years, so
- 33:12over the year, so they have plenty of ideas to pick from, that's
- 33:15right. Oh absolutely. I mean I'm pretty proud of the Star Trek four
- 33:20that I wrote, so oh yeah, I'm just I'm sitting here at night,
- 33:22staring at the phone waiting for it to ring. Yeah, but yeah,
- 33:28it's not it hasn't run. We we should do one of those pitch
- 33:30shows again soon. Okay, well that'd be fun. Yeah. So you
- 33:35were you were you were losing reception when I asked you, Scott, but
- 33:39you said you were going to watch the Captains after this? Did you did
- 33:43you go ahead and do that? Or I got about halfway through it.
- 33:46It's uh, the only takeaway I got from it is the takeaway that everybody
- 33:52gets from it. It's that every every crazy. You know, he's obviously,
- 34:00you know, he's obviously I don't know if he's under the influence.
- 34:05I'm guessing under the influence of some possible substances, I think, and I
- 34:14honestly think when when William Shatner went to his house, he probably offered some
- 34:17to William Shatner to and but no, he's a really interesting guy. But
- 34:23they've got you know, they were having a conversation that how do I put
- 34:29this, sounds like a conversation one would have if one got really high with
- 34:36a with a buddy. Yeah, you know, talking about you know,
- 34:42the vibrations of the universe and how everything fits together, and you know it's
- 34:46I mean, it sounds like they had a good time. I mean,
- 34:50I'm not knocking him. You know, Waiting Games says that they wish they
- 34:55would cut out the prequels without hesitation and coming out with something post I think
- 35:00they meant d S nine Voyager nine. Yet is that too difficult? That's
- 35:07well, that's what I want. I want you know, post d S
- 35:09nine, next Gen era, you know the card Era stuff, you know,
- 35:13new stuff. Yes, that's what everybody wants, right, Yeah,
- 35:16everyone wants that Sergic legacy. Maybe just just finish, finish up, finish
- 35:21up Disco. Yeah, you know, invalidate that timeline somehow reset the status.
- 35:29Cool. And you know, even if even even if they didn't do
- 35:32that, even if at the end of that at the end of that series,
- 35:38Discovery ends up in the twenty fifth century mm hm. And you know,
- 35:45the the the events that they've observed in the thirty fifth or wherever the
- 35:49hell they are. I don't even know. You know, that's not written
- 35:52in stone, that we don't know that that future will actually occur. I'd
- 35:55be fine with that because then then I can just take that put it on
- 36:00the shelf. Leave it there, never watch it again, and move on
- 36:02with my life in the twenty fifth century and be happy. But for anyone
- 36:07who wants to go back and rewatch those episodes, they're all right there.
- 36:09It can be one of the Yeah, it can be one of the many
- 36:13timelines that Warp experienced in parallels. You know, let it be its own.
- 36:16It can be its own thing, and that's how they can explain it
- 36:19away. But yeah, everybody wants you know, they don't want prequels.
- 36:22I don't understand people's love of prequels. You know. I just got done
- 36:25watching Game of Thrones and I'm like, oh, that was really really interesting.
- 36:29I really really liked it. And then people are like, oh,
- 36:30they got this House of Dragons. I'm like, oh, what's that?
- 36:32Is that? What takes place after? No, it's two hundred years before.
- 36:36I'm like, uh huh. I'll watch it, I guess, but
- 36:39I don't I know what happens. I mean, I can tell you what
- 36:43happens after House of Dragon. I know exactly what happens after House the Dragon.
- 36:46You know. House of Dragon's really good, though, man, is
- 36:49it? Okay? I'll watch it, really good. I watch it t
- 36:52versus He likes the idea of the last scene of Disco being Breaker, saying
- 36:55computer and program like the but in that vein, I wanted to be Jake
- 37:02Cisco and it's his new hollole novel. And people are like, that's not
- 37:07really Starfleet man. Yeah yeah, it's like detachable in the cells. Come
- 37:15on, yeah yeah, Starfleet officer wouldn't act that way, like yeah,
- 37:22yeah, well that kind of goes in line with my idea about the end.
- 37:24You know, whenever they end Lower Decks is you know, they have
- 37:29a cartoon whatever ending, and then they they they cut to live action and
- 37:35it's Mariner as like a forty five year old huh, And she's like,
- 37:38you know, buttoning up her hollow novel, right right, you know,
- 37:43but it's a it's a it's a graphic novel. Sure well sure, And
- 37:47she's like, well I took some creative liberties and things like that. You
- 37:52know, not everybody acted that, you know, you didn't see actually see
- 37:55Rikers say I'd like warp in the factor of five, six, seven eight,
- 37:59you know, oh well we do have got somebody on the line ready
- 38:06to go. As always. There he is jazz it's chief engineer, Argyle.
- 38:14Yeah, oh, I thought the movie that movie, that's kind of
- 38:19this guy show. He had a pitch that our gyle is going to be
- 38:25the chief engineer, so nice boy. He went up with Jeffreys tube and
- 38:32never came back, never came back. It's like the chief engineer or the
- 38:42engineer that took over for Voyager for the first episode and a half. Oh
- 38:45yeah, he dies with like the second the last episode. Oh, that
- 38:50was the great carry. Harry makes it all the way home and then uh
- 39:00work. Did you watch the documentary? Yes, I watched it. I
- 39:02had a I had to watch it on Amazon. It was on free V
- 39:06on Amazon. Okay, I had a hard time. I was like,
- 39:10what the hell is the name of the title? I had look it up,
- 39:15and yeah, because it's like mind Meld, and then all these other
- 39:19things came up with the mind Meld. Then I finally found it. So
- 39:24yeah. Scott was saying that there's a lot of different Star Trek things on
- 39:29TV. Yeah, yeah, so Captain was one of them. I started
- 39:34watching. There was a couple others yeah, yeah, all right, and
- 39:37then the Das Dined documentary is really good. Yeah. I was looking for
- 39:44that Voyager documentary but it's not out yet. I thought it'd have been out
- 39:46by now. But yeah, yes, and then yeah, I read about
- 39:52that a while ago, like a year ago. There's okay, okay,
- 39:59yeah, yeah. What We Left Behind was a really good documentary. I
- 40:00couldn't stand the I did not like the storyline that they came up with for
- 40:07a possible sequel to d S nine Captain Doggett. Well, I didn't like
- 40:13the beginning, so and I didn't like the direction Kiara went. According to
- 40:17them, I'm like, yeah, who knows whatever. Yeah, they're just
- 40:24brainstorming, you know, that was the whole That's fine, that's fun.
- 40:30Yeah, and usually they correct it and they're like, nah, that doesn't
- 40:32make sense, So come back the next day, scrub it all and then
- 40:37start over again. So that's right. So here's the here's the question.
- 40:45Is the hate for William Shatton or justified? What do you think? I
- 40:47think it's not, you know, I think it's mainly two. K is
- 40:55kind of a caddy bitch, so wow interviews and he's just I don't know,
- 41:09there's something about decay. He's just yeah, he's holding the grudge and
- 41:14he's not letting it go. You know what you know, it's gotta be
- 41:16you know, it's gotta suck about being George Decay is anytime anytime somebody interviews
- 41:22him, they ask him about William Shanner. Yeah, yes, every single
- 41:28time. So I mean that's gotta do something to your ego. Pouring salts
- 41:32on a fifty year old. Yeah, you know, I can't stand this
- 41:37guy. But every time I meet someone, they're like, tell me something
- 41:38about William Shanner. Yeah. Every time I do an interview, people ask
- 41:43me about Daniel Yeah, every single time, every time. Yeah, yeah,
- 41:51no, I very clearly, their personalities just do not mesh, like,
- 41:54yeah, they just don't get along. No, their egos don't get
- 41:59along. Yeah, but Shatner doesn't really. I would say, like interviews,
- 42:02he doesn't really say anything about de Kay where to k that's kind of
- 42:07based on the interview is how much he dislikes him, right, And that's
- 42:12very chelly. Yeah, yes, And and the others didn't like Knig never
- 42:17really said anything too bad about him publicly, I would think, Yeah,
- 42:22recently recently he said I don't remember what it was, but recently he said
- 42:28something which was surprising because yeah, you know, he generally doesn't he kept
- 42:34quiet, kept it fifty five years or whatever. Right. I didn't know
- 42:37that Leonard Boy was in the army, no either, Yeah, yeah,
- 42:44I didn't. I just think working next to Spot, you know, and
- 42:47he's trying to a folk and mind mild on you and people. Yeah.
- 42:58Yeah, some guy was doing this to him the whole time. He's like,
- 43:00you know, I think I'm gonna take that, you know, live
- 43:06along and prosper. That's pretty good. I think about him driving a cat,
- 43:12he talked about he drove a cab. Yeah, boxing in that thing
- 43:19in a pet store. Yeah, and I just picture because you know,
- 43:23you know, those those jobs probably overlapped with the show. Yeah, the
- 43:28beginning. You know, you don't know if the show is going to go
- 43:30for a season. You don't know if it's going to go ten episodes and
- 43:32get canceled. Yeah, I can imagine. You know, I'm in a
- 43:36pet store in LA and I'm buying some goldfish, and this guy with the
- 43:39weirdest haircut I've ever seen is just scooping goldfish. Yeah. Well, like,
- 43:45what's his name? You guys remember Stiffler from American Pie. Sure,
- 43:49when that movie was in theaters. He was working at a zoo, like
- 43:52just cleaning concessions and stuff like that. Oh wow, yeah, yeah,
- 43:58he didn't make that much on that movie. The uh the guy who has
- 44:00the most memorable uh lines from the movie Captain Phillips the Pirate who says I'm
- 44:09the captain Now look yeah, he works in his brother's cell phone store.
- 44:15Oh wow, Nigeria or something. That's crazy. All right, So you
- 44:22see people on TV and in the movies. Yeah. Yeah, Well I
- 44:28don't want you guys know this, but I actually have a job. Driving
- 44:31truck is my full time job. Yeah, yeah, you know how the
- 44:37money have fallen. I mean, indeed, indeed, I wish I wish
- 44:40I could work ninety minutes a week. Great, this is this is my
- 44:45job. I wish I could live on the cof account. Yeah, let
- 44:49me know what the coffee account gets up? Yeah, and the mortgage is
- 44:53due correct? Wear something from the account? Yeah that out kidding? Kids
- 45:02need shoes, Ye, hit the like and subscribe. But we'd all be
- 45:07on the streets if that was a guest. Oh gosh, yeah, Jazz.
- 45:14Does anything else you want to bring up? Uh? Well, that
- 45:16new star Trek maybe they keep talking about I definitely knowing it's gonna happen.
- 45:21I don't know I giving up any of them. Yeah yeah, any of
- 45:24them. It's like they just keep on saying it and they never It's kind
- 45:29of section section thirty one. It's supposed to start filming at the end of
- 45:32the month, so okay, right, but even though they're not they're not
- 45:37movies though, when does that take place? A TV movie? It's a
- 45:39TV movie. It's made for TV movie. Yeah yeah, So when is
- 45:44second thirty one is supposed to take place? That's someplace between the twenty first
- 45:47and thirty fifth century. Yeah, I guess somewhere, somewhere somewhere. It's
- 45:52gotta be Georgia. Show wouldn't be the Discovery era like be in that time
- 45:58period, so who knows. A Wolves, Good morning, trek Ass the
- 46:01Galaxy's most amazing beards. That's cold outs on is it's very chilly? Then
- 46:13on my face doesn't look good bed cat warm up with the and this is
- 46:16the most I can do. So yeah, you gotta get those removable Thomas
- 46:22Riker. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'll get on the chops. Hey
- 46:30listen, if they can have detachable in the cells, you can have a
- 46:31detachable beard. Absolutely that's right. Shattery can wear it today. I can
- 46:37wear one on my face. Were you looking at his two pages to see
- 46:44where the like the hairlines started? Yeah, I'm seriously did the whole time.
- 46:49Every time they do like a pant around his head and be like,
- 46:51okay, where does the hairline you're looking, You're like, yeah, let's
- 46:57oh yeah, let the back of it. Look at this. Yeah,
- 47:01like the man didn't wear proper shoes. He's wearing like looks like he has
- 47:04a dribble lot of head. So they were facing the house and they had
- 47:08like the doors open on the house right in the back. So I kept
- 47:13like looking to see if anyone would like walk by randomly. You know that
- 47:16that was my thing. Did you guys see did you guys see George Kay
- 47:21in the bushes? Right? Yes? I did tomatoes. Yes, he
- 47:30was ready to do it. Man longer to Ka or Shatner. Shatner's out,
- 47:37Yeah, for sure, Shatter you look at an interview, It's like,
- 47:42man, he could have done another movie right there. Yeah, like
- 47:45no problem. Well, I mean that was what twenty three years ago.
- 47:50My beard is not an affectation. Yes, in a minute, I've just
- 47:57gotten used to it. Jes We got other people waiting on the line,
- 48:00so we gotta get going. And then we also have got t Bear,
- 48:07so let's bring him in. He ripped us off. That's this is ty
- 48:15Bear. I mean, whenever you rip your beard off, that that means
- 48:19you're evil? Are we gonna get mirror? Mirror? Universe? T Bear
- 48:22with like interested? Just to give me a few days? All right,
- 48:27that's your assignment for next week? Yeah, universe? Nice. Did you
- 48:32watch the documentary? No? I didn't, so I was kind of getting
- 48:37a little spoiled by it. But then I'm like, like, damn,
- 48:39it does something familiar. I might have seen a clip of it or something
- 48:43a long time ago, probably back on an old DHS tape or something.
- 48:47Did you buy it from the website? No? Who buys anything from a
- 48:54website anymore? Right? Right, just find the place to download it.
- 48:59Yeah, exactly, borrowed the internet. I'm still waiting for my Voyager documentary.
- 49:04Actually, I've been tracking that because I was one of the backers and
- 49:08it's been a couple of years, so I don't know. Yeah, I
- 49:12was certain it was out by now, but apparently not. Well, do
- 49:16some research and find out. Yeah, yeah, I keep getting emails every
- 49:20once in a while saying, hey, they're working on this, yor doing
- 49:22this. But supposedly they filmed everything. They got everybody's interviews and stuff.
- 49:28Okay, So part of me is wondering is did Paramount step in because of
- 49:32Prodigy and where Voyager was going and they didn't want to They're trying to make
- 49:37sure it doesn't say anything to give anything away. But then they maybe threw
- 49:42away Prodigy for the most part, but in the night because it's the same
- 49:45group that did the DS nine documentary, and yeah, they upscaled some clips
- 49:50from Paramount to HD. So I'm wondering if that might be they might be
- 49:55doing something like that for the Voyager. I was excited about that. The
- 50:00d S nine documentary was awesome. Yeah, it was really good. I'm
- 50:04reading from their website from March fifteenth of last year. It says production update,
- 50:09principal photography is complete. Okay, So and then from March a little
- 50:15bit later in March, they're they're still doing the crowd punting campaign. Yeah,
- 50:21but it doesn't look like their website's been updated for about ten ten months.
- 50:24Yeah, that's a good sign. I got like an email like a
- 50:29couple of months ago. So I'll go take a look at what my email
- 50:32says. There's, yeah, something about some updates and everything. But you're
- 50:38right, I don't know why they're not updating the website if they're And before
- 50:43that they were getting physical items in like maybe props, yeah that they could
- 50:47showcase. But it's gonna have looks like it's gonna have from IMDb. It's
- 50:51gonna have Dwayne Johnson who was in an episode. Sarah Silvan was in an
- 50:55episode. You know, Jason Alexander was in One Under. So that's cool.
- 51:04Begley Jr. Nice, that's right, he was. He was a
- 51:10guy from the future. Yeah. It's funny because whenever I watch Young Sheldon,
- 51:15he's in Young Sheldon. It's yeah, so nice. All right,
- 51:24I'm about I'm about due for a voyagery watch. Yeah yeah, but what
- 51:30streaming service and where does it go? Because keeping amy Yeah yeah, I
- 51:40was trying to. I was like, oh, so everyone keeps talking about
- 51:44that prices on Infinite Earth's the old not the new one, but the one
- 51:49where they took all like an arrow series and everything. Oh yeah, And
- 51:52I'm like, okay, let me go start watching this, like on the
- 51:54website has like whatever, the five different episodes they've got, the first one
- 51:59on Supergirl and the second one is on That Woman, And I can't find
- 52:02that show anywhere else now, so I'm like stuck. I watched the first
- 52:06episode and I can't watch anything else. That Woman is on to Be Oh
- 52:10to Be Okay, I saw it. I can watch it, but I
- 52:15saw it as I was, you know, flipping through uh looking for this
- 52:21thing. Mm hmm. Well, speaking of physical media, if you buy
- 52:24the final season of Arrow, uh, it has that entire crossover in it.
- 52:30Okay, oh yeah, so you have to find this thing that's called
- 52:37the store. Yeah, and then you have to hope, you have to
- 52:42hope that that store sells physical media. And then if they have that Arrow,
- 52:47well one more thing, you have to actually find another store that actually
- 52:52sells a player for that physical media. Yeah. Really, that's true.
- 52:58Is that becoming a problem sometimes? Yeah? And none of my computers,
- 53:04all the game consoles, yeah, a lot of them are losing their their
- 53:07drives. Right. Well, Daniel, didn't you report a couple of weeks
- 53:12ago that Best Buy stopped selling Blu Rays DVDs? Yea that yeah, okay,
- 53:19yeah, but you can still get an LP or uh on Target now
- 53:22mm hmm. You can be that guy with your vinyl. Yeah, he
- 53:28should be that guy. Yeah. Yeah, I'm not getting any information about
- 53:34when that's coming out. Yeah. So what I'm gonna do is I'm going
- 53:40to go to the store and I'm gonna I'm gonna do some math, and
- 53:44I'm going to figure out, uh, the average life expectancy of a Blu
- 53:49ray Player, and then I'm going to figure out the average life expectancy of
- 53:52me. And then you know, how many Blu ray Players do I need
- 53:57to buy to get me through the rest of your life? Yeah, and
- 54:00then I'm just gonna buy four Blue Players and on the shelf and closet.
- 54:05There you go. I went through three and two years. Yeah. So
- 54:09yeah, they just started failing left. Wow. Yeah, that's pretty fast,
- 54:15terrible. I mean, that's why I saw my PS four. I
- 54:17used that for Blue Flaire. So the sooner we get isolinea Chips and the
- 54:22Holidack, we can actually about these and you know, I can't wait for
- 54:27that to have Disco season five on holiday. There you go, you and
- 54:35watching it, yep, Riker, that's right, Daniel. I think there's
- 54:38I think there's somebody else. Yeah, uh, all right, I can't
- 54:47wait for the last Discovery just to talk about it with you guys with Dan
- 54:51here, that's gonna be great. That's what I was gonna leave you guys
- 54:54with. Is your thoughts on this Disco season five? Which I keep hearing
- 55:00is Indiana Jones. Do we have what's the release date for that? April?
- 55:07We don't have a hard date yet, just April. I haven't heard
- 55:10Indiana Jones as it, But wouldn't surprise me, Like we're off to go
- 55:15find the arc and here we go? Is there going to be space Nazis
- 55:19too? But I mean, yeah, they're going to use that arc to
- 55:22kind of travel back to the twenty fifth century, right, that's sure,
- 55:25we're all right, Yeah, that's fine, fine with Yeah, it's I
- 55:34just watched the last Indiana Johnes movie. I don't care. I don't care.
- 55:37The Last Indiana Jones is good. I didn't watch that one yet.
- 55:40It's pretty bad that the reviews it bombed at the theater though, very much.
- 55:45Yeah, Yeah, it was the best use of the aging c GI
- 55:50that I've seen in a lot, that's true. Yeah, that is really
- 55:53really great. Yeah. I think the reason why bombed was they kind of
- 55:58pickhearted him. I don't know if that makes any sense, but the first
- 56:01act was pretty much the card season one. Yeah, two, and then
- 56:07the final act was pretty much the Card season three the way the movie set
- 56:10up, So okay, yeah, that makes sense. That's fair. And
- 56:15it seems like what they do now when they want to reboot somebody that's aging
- 56:17out of their role. Mm hmmm. Yeah. I can't wait for that
- 56:22to happen in the next Ghostbusters movie that's coming up. That looks good,
- 56:27That looks good. Dan's not happy with watch it. Watch it, Daniel,
- 56:31you rush him out. I'm very much looking forward to that movie as
- 56:38am. I. I think they're doing they're doing the right thing in that.
- 56:45You know, I know the Originals are not going to be they're building
- 56:47a franchise again. They're rebuilding a franchise, and I know the Originals are
- 56:52not going to be in them forever. But it's good that they're in this
- 56:58one. You know, they were the last five minutes of the last one.
- 57:00If we never saw them again, it would be like, all right.
- 57:05You know, they were in the last five minutes of the of the
- 57:07New one, and and and now it's these new people. But they have
- 57:09this this overlap that's occurring, and it's a slow phase out, and I
- 57:15think that's I think that's good of them. Are you reading any of the
- 57:20like reports about like, there's there's three characters returning, one from the last
- 57:24movie and two from the very first movie. So have you read it any
- 57:32one? There's a character from the movie we just saw, the one that
- 57:38came out a couple of years ago. It's returning. Yeah, there's several
- 57:45cameo Yeah, and there's there's two there's two characters that we didn't see,
- 57:51we haven't seen in a while, in any of the movies that are coming
- 57:53back. No, Slimmer, Slimmer's coming back, ye is that? Uh?
- 58:00Yeah? But yes, Walter coming back. Yes, that's right.
- 58:07Man. Oh man, I saw I saw a crossover. I saw a
- 58:16crossover meme recently that I liked, and it was you know the scene in
- 58:21Batman eighty nine where where they're messing up all the artwork in the in the
- 58:25museum. Oh yeah, and Bob Bob Dagon he goes to slice of painting
- 58:31with his with his machete joker, he blocks it with his cane. He
- 58:36says, I kind of like this one. Yeah, so there's this meme
- 58:39where it's that scene, but it's the painting of Vego the Carpathia. Yeah,
- 58:47that's awesome. Yeah when when I when did that come out? When
- 58:52does come out? I think it's sometime in March. Yeah, Lost in
- 58:58New York, Lost in New York or pros and Frozen Empire. Okay.
- 59:01Yeah, when my buddy had a kid, I I bought him a print
- 59:05of the Vigo the Carpathian. H posker Ah, that's cool. I like,
- 59:09yeah, yea March twenty n comes in. When I first watched that
- 59:15movie, that's that painting. Creeped me out? Oh for sure. I
- 59:19would have been creeped out if you gave me a paint like nope, yeah
- 59:28all right, anything else you want to bring up? T beer? Nope,
- 59:31gets me bad? Okay, warm, all right, cool? Thanks
- 59:37man? All right, guys, every buddy can see it. So yeah
- 59:40yeah, all right, Well that's all the feedback we have. Okay,
- 59:45yeah, so good. Some good stuff coming out. Yeah yeah, we
- 59:52got the Ghostbusters, we got for some star Trek mhm, nat As the
- 59:58Universe is coming out Netflix. I you know, I enjoy that. It's
- 1:00:01a it's different, but I enjoy it. Yeah, I enjoy that.
- 1:00:05I haven't see. I haven't seen yet, so I probably will. I'll
- 1:00:08get I'll get Netflix this week or whatever. So yeah, Madam Webb coming
- 1:00:15out February fourteenth. I don't know. I can't wait to see that train
- 1:00:21Wreck. I mean there's stuff on the horizon. Godzilla, Yeah, is
- 1:00:28in April, Yele is in May? That another Plan of the Apes in
- 1:00:34May. I want to see that movie. It's out now. It's called
- 1:00:37ISS. You guys know about this, no, yeah, yeah. So
- 1:00:43it's about there's a group of American astronauts and Russian astronauts up in the International
- 1:00:47Space Station and then they get word that nuclear war has broken out between the
- 1:00:52two countries, and so they get the order, hey take over the space
- 1:00:57station, and so now they have to fight each other in Yeah oh god.
- 1:01:01Yeah. It's supposed to be very grounded and well done. Wow.
- 1:01:07Yeah, wow, that's interesting. Yeah, huh. It sounds like an
- 1:01:12interesting concept because you know, the space agencies themselves are supposed to be non
- 1:01:17political, and they're not. Right, It's it's all about space, not
- 1:01:22about the However, there are two types of There are two types of astronauts.
- 1:01:28There are military officers who use the pilots of some sort, right,
- 1:01:34and then there are and then there are mission specialists who are just civilian science
- 1:01:38and civilians you know, yeah, a botanist, yeah, you know,
- 1:01:42uh whatever, and excuse me. So I would imagine there would be a
- 1:01:47power struggle between the civilian astronauts and the military astronauts, even in their own
- 1:01:52faction. Right. That's the thing that from what I understand in the movie,
- 1:01:57that there are the kind of those groups that we can't fight. These
- 1:02:00people were all scientists. No, we're in the military. There's a little
- 1:02:04bit of that allegiances and loyalties and m well, yeah, I'm gonna watch
- 1:02:10that that. Somebody asked, have you watched the Last Sea You guys watching
- 1:02:14the second season of Reacher awaiting game? Ask that? Yeah. I just
- 1:02:16got done with it yesterday. And it was fanastic. Well and Richson Reacher
- 1:02:24the Amazon original series Amazon, So it was Tom Cruise did a couple of
- 1:02:34movies called Jack Reacher. It's base. It's based on a series of books.
- 1:02:37He's a basically former army officer who sort of you know, leaves the
- 1:02:45military and goes out on his own as you know adventures. He was like
- 1:02:49a one man team, right, like he helps people out. Yeah,
- 1:02:52basically basically. And so so Tom Cruise did he did he escape from a
- 1:02:57military prison? He did not from the papers, and he probably belongs in
- 1:03:00one, but no. So the character of Breacher in the books, from
- 1:03:06what I understand, is like this really big. He's like two hundred and
- 1:03:09forty pounds. He's six foot five. It's like a brick built, like
- 1:03:14a brick crap house. And then of course Tom's played him in the movies,
- 1:03:17and Tom Cruise is you know, like the tiniest after in the world.
- 1:03:21Right, so after after the Amazon came out with with a series and
- 1:03:29they cast Alan Richson as Jack Reacher. Now, Alan Richon is like six
- 1:03:35three two twenty. I mean, he's he played he was in Titans and
- 1:03:43he got a big break as as Arthur Curry in Small Villa. He played
- 1:03:49he played Acquaman Small vill Ye. So yeah, but he does a fantastic
- 1:03:54job. I watched both seasons. Richard, that's a really good series.
- 1:04:00I highly recommend it. Okay, good, there's another one coming out in
- 1:04:06well just this spring twenty twenty four, but it's called Civil War and it's
- 1:04:13about a oh yeah, it's about a civil war in the United States occurring
- 1:04:17now. Yes, I read about that one too. Several several states secede
- 1:04:24from the Union and the US says no and launches a counter strike. And
- 1:04:30it just it looks it feels I know, the storyline is different, but
- 1:04:34it feels like like that. The anxiety you would get watching it is the
- 1:04:41same type of anxiety you get watching a movie like Red Dawn. Yeahs say,
- 1:04:46could this happen here? Could this happen tomorrow? Yeah? Right.
- 1:04:50There's there's a scene where, you know, there's these people and they get
- 1:04:56stopped by soldiers and they you know, they raise their hands and they said,
- 1:04:59don't shoot, don't shoot, We're Americans. And the soldiers says,
- 1:05:01yeah, but what kind right? Right? Yeah? Have you seen it?
- 1:05:09It's not out yet, it's not yet. No, No. I
- 1:05:11just just so just that it's not one side. I hope that the movie
- 1:05:16doesn't get it, so you know that there's not a good side and a
- 1:05:19bad side in a well for war. I think I think they are trying
- 1:05:26to stay away from genuine, real political issues, and there's imaginary issues,
- 1:05:32because what I can gather from the preview is it's California and Texas have succeeded
- 1:05:40together. I've got the map up right here, and yeah, and have
- 1:05:44created their own nation. So I can't see the politics of California and Texas
- 1:05:49aligning to the point where they would secede from the union and align themselves with
- 1:05:56each other, so that I can't think of it. Yeah, that leads
- 1:05:59me to believe that you saying fictional issues that which is fine with me.
- 1:06:03You know, from what I've read the director, I think it is he's
- 1:06:08from not America, I think some European country, so he didn't really understand
- 1:06:13how the politics work in the US, so he just kind of made the
- 1:06:15map as kind of what he thought. And so that's partly why it kind
- 1:06:20of goes that way. Maybe we don't want it so close to home exactly.
- 1:06:25Maybe you know, maybe we want to have fun watching this movie.
- 1:06:28Yeah, exactly exactly. So, but yeah, that that should be an
- 1:06:32interesting film. A Wolf asked if we had seen Obliterate. I guess it's
- 1:06:39a Netflix series. I'm not aware of that one, okay, but when
- 1:06:44I get Netflix this week for he man I'll take a look at that.
- 1:06:51How is that is that? Obviously that's animated? Is it? Uh?
- 1:06:55It's like, so what it is? What kind of style? There's a
- 1:07:00couple of different versions of he Man that they did a couple of years ago.
- 1:07:03One was was was a Disney Pixar style cartoon that was more more geared
- 1:07:11towards kids. I watched a few episodes of it, not a fan.
- 1:07:15There was one called Masters of the Universe Revelations, and that one picks up
- 1:07:20after the old cartoon, but it's more adult oriented storylines. Okay. Mark
- 1:07:29Hamill is the voice of Skeletor. Yeah, it was pretty good. A
- 1:07:34lot of the Supergirl cast is in this thing. Yeah, yeah, okay.
- 1:07:39Some people didn't like it because Tila was was a main character, and
- 1:07:45you know, they thought it was too woke. Yeah. I don't necessarily
- 1:07:49agree with that. I think it was. I think it was fine.
- 1:07:53The second season is coming out, and what's interesting about that is Mark Hamill
- 1:07:57is back as Skeletor and William Shatner is hoard Act. So no, David
- 1:08:05Keith is hoard act, William Shatner is Guildur. I think the little Elf
- 1:08:13guy. Are you sure? Yeah. Okay. Now let me ask you
- 1:08:18this. When you guys are about the age where you would have seen he
- 1:08:25Man back in the eighties, Okay, when was the last time you actually
- 1:08:30sat down and watched an episode of the nineteen eighties he Man. I saw
- 1:08:33one like two years ago with my nephews so they could see it. Yeah,
- 1:08:40a few years back. Yeah. I watched it by myself about four
- 1:08:43years ago. Yeah, and I'm glad I didn't expose my children to it.
- 1:08:46Yeah. Yeah, so, oh it's bad. They they redid that
- 1:08:53series back in two thousand and two, and it was pretty good. I
- 1:08:58liked. I liked that, like I didn't want I didn't watch the whole
- 1:09:00thing that in the reboot was pretty good. And some of the ideas Thundercat
- 1:09:08You're right around the same time they rebooted ThunderCats, We'll come back. They
- 1:09:14carried over into this, uh, into this sequel cartoon they're doing now,
- 1:09:17and and one of them was that the the dichotomy of he Man and Adam
- 1:09:27is not so much Superman Clark Kent. It's more of Captain Marvel Billy Batson.
- 1:09:34Yeah, so Prince Adam is not somebody you would look at and ever
- 1:09:41in a million years, think is he man? Whereas you watched the old
- 1:09:45show. It's like they have the same haircut, the same face, the
- 1:09:48same physique. I mean, Christ, they rotoscoped the same guy to make
- 1:09:54this instead. Prince Adam is a is a is a skinny twenty year old
- 1:10:00kid, and when he summons the power, he bulks up and becomes he
- 1:10:05man. And I, I, you know, even though I grew up
- 1:10:08on the old one, I kind of like that. Yeah, okay,
- 1:10:11yeah, I mean, and it makes sense. And if they and if
- 1:10:13they do a movie like they've been flirting with for the last ten years,
- 1:10:17I hope they carry that idea over to I think that would make so much
- 1:10:21more sense. Yeah, I think so too. You talk about a live
- 1:10:25action Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, I know. Like coming back
- 1:10:30to ThunderCats. I ThunderCats was the other cartoon that I watched a lot growing
- 1:10:34up, and I about ten or so years ago, I watched an episode
- 1:10:40of ThunderCats and to me, the storyline of that particular I don't remember the
- 1:10:43episode, but to me, the storyline held up, you know, it
- 1:10:46was it was pretty good. And then I remember I watched a few episodes
- 1:10:50and I just remember that the story the writing was a little bit better than
- 1:10:58he man. From what I remember. I like the characters a little bit
- 1:11:01better. And I know they've talked about a live action Thundercat for a long
- 1:11:05time. They've done a lot of like fan made trailers for ThunderCats. The
- 1:11:11director of cong Versus Godzilla is a huge ThunderCats fan, and apparently after the
- 1:11:18success of that movie, he went in and basically said, to give me
- 1:11:21the ThunderCats movie, and so he's allegedly working on it after this next cong
- 1:11:27In Godzilla film. Kay, that'd be fantastic. I'd love to see it.
- 1:11:34Yeah, there's a lot of Thundercat stuff. And you know when you
- 1:11:38go to Comic Con, there's a lot of you know, if you go
- 1:11:41to any of the weapons booths, save yet the sort of omens. Yeah,
- 1:11:44stuff like that. And I just looked it up. That reboot series
- 1:11:46was in twenty eleven. You can watch it on Hulu. It's it's okay,
- 1:11:50Yeah, I'm gonna check it out. It's pretty good. It's pretty
- 1:11:54good. They get I know that they get the original voice of Liono to
- 1:11:57play his dad in the first couple episodes. That's kind of cool. Yeah,
- 1:12:02okay, so yeah, definitely check that out. Yeah all right,
- 1:12:08Well, anything else we want to bring up before we wrap it up,
- 1:12:12I don't think so. He Man civil war, Yeah we covered it.
- 1:12:15I think we covered everything. We went all over the place this time.
- 1:12:19Yeah, all right, whatever whatever chance is called, George de kay,
- 1:12:26that's right, that's right. Yeah, you want to throw the number up
- 1:12:31on the screen. Oh yeah, yeah we should. We should definitely do
- 1:12:35that for our audio. Yeah. Sorry, five seven zero six six one
