  stop that spirit of avatar has lived on well

  until 2026 and now we got some new episodes now

  We got some new shows. Let's let's talk about

  it. Okay, so Kalin, would you consider yourself

  a super fan? I'm definitely a super fan of the

  original avatar series. We'll get into that more

  super fan diehard fan was it like the best tv

  show of your childhood other than your your spongebob

  one of the best shows not just of my childhood

  but of all time because even re -watching i'm

  excited to see how this new one turns up. Hopefully

  of doing a new series What do we need to know

  for Avatar Seven Havens? Yeah, so Avatar Seven

  Havens takes place 225 years after the legend

  of Korra and It's a different world from the
• 1:54
  other shows, right? We live in now these Isolated
• 1:59
  stronghold. So there's seven of them called the

  seven havens and we have a new avatar. Her name

  is Pavi She's an earthbender from the city of
• 2:07
  Elora and this world now doesn't look at the
• 2:10
  avatar as a savior but more of someone who brings
• 2:14
  doom and Malice the world, right? And then there's
• 2:20
  some other key characters Pavi is joined with
• 2:23
  her long -lost sister Nisha and there's also
• 2:26
  her airbending mentor, Jae, and then also the
• 2:29
  love it animal companions, Geet and Ruhi.

  Classic. That's an Avatar staple. Let's watch

  the teaser trailer real quick. I haven't seen

  it actually, so this is a first for me. Well,

  let's roll that and let's get some reactions.

  Okay, like quick reactions. It looks like Korra

  was that Avatar in the very end. It's probably

  Korra. Right? And I really like the art style.

  It kind of reminds me of the OG series. So I'm

  kind of getting this feel that they're kind of
• 3:22
  going for the same thing. And kind of when you

  did that intro, Kalin, it made me think there's

  a lot of parallels to, even though it's a different
• 3:30
  setting and people are kind of not trusting of

  the avatar, that's actually very similar to the
• 3:37
  original series where the avatar Aang kind of
• 3:39
  had to go through a lot of journeys and build
• 3:42
  trust with the people again. What were your initial

  thoughts and reactions, Kaelan? Yeah, I'm really

  excited. It looks great. I'm curious to see kind
• 3:56
  of like you mentioned how it is similar, but
• 3:59
  it does seem so much different at the same time.

  The art style looks very similar, but I'm just
• 4:05
  excited to see kind of the dynamic between the
• 4:07
  twins. and how that plays out and also how humanity

  will view the avatar going forward. It seems

  really interesting to me. Yeah, very different

  like take in the sense of like how people are
• 4:19
  going to feel about the avatar. Craig, your first

  time seeing it. What was your thoughts? I mean,

  to be honest, like I don't think I've ever described
• 4:26
  an animated show like this, but like the setting
• 4:27
  is like pretty. It's beautiful. Yeah, like that

  is like stunning. So I'm actually super excited

  about that. It's kind of funny because they're
• 4:36
  showing like the cataclysmic events it looks
• 4:38
  like in the trailer. But even that looked like
• 4:41
  kind of a little beautiful, like the way they
• 4:43
  were doing the animations. But very pretty, very
• 4:46
  pretty show. And I think it'll be a joy to watch
• 4:48
  with like your kids now that you kind of have
• 4:51
  that nostalgia yourself growing up with the original
• 4:53
  series. And they're kind of going for the same
• 4:56
  thing. Eric, could you pull up the animal companions?

  Because that's one of the parallels I feel like

  they keep. Having the same feels from the OG

  series. I think it's a different one. This is

  a watch order Yes, yeah instead of you know flying

  monkey and a flying bison. We got cat monkeys

  this, like, kind of those animal companions.

  Like, that's something that really made Avatar,

  like, the original series, like, really fun.

  So I'm excited they're kind of bringing this

  back and that there's more, like, kind of these

  animal... Sidekick companionships that we get

  that we get to know again. So this is sweet.

  Yeah, and you can see right here I mean both

  voiced by Dee Bradley Baker who was also the

  original voice actor for Appa and Momo I don't know

  how much you're gonna like see the same,

  you know, resemblance of the voice acting for

  animals, but kind of a fun little tidbit so I'm

  excited for these to come out and I do know that

  you know They're gonna make sure work We have

  to tune in each week because they're gonna be

  releasing these in batches Eric if you can go

  so episodes one and three should already be out

  to come out. Yeah, and we actually have a writer

  the first three episodes, and I want to read to

  just to give you a preview. Word for word, I'm

  three episodes in now and thinking about what

  you need to know ahead of time. I think the show

  is probably aware that it's aiming for a new

  generation of kids because it explains all the

  concepts you need to know. There are certainly

  references to characters and organizations in

  previous series, but I think a kid could go into

  this show knowing nothing and still enjoy it.

  So we got these batched episodes coming out.

  If you have kids, perfect show to watch with

  with your three -year -old? Yeah, I actually

  think that's one of the things I'm most excited

  about with their return to a younger lead and

  having more of a tie -in to the original series

  is because I was pretty young when the original

  series came out. Now I have a son who's almost

  four who I can watch this with. He's going to

  love. the cat monkeys or whatever they are, he's

  going to be all all about that. Like the animals.

  Yeah, I'm pumped for that. So it also looks like

  we're in it for the long haul. If I read that

  right. Book two, a second season is already coming

  is already in the works. Yeah. Unlike Korra, which

  I don't think they were planning multiple like

  it to go as long as it did, which may be why

  the storyline can feel jumbled for people. But.

  like me So say we I stopped watching at the end

  could I watch? I know that maybe we could pick

  up, you know, a ride of Avatar seven Havens and

  not really miss anything. We could just start

  watching it from scratch. But if I wanted to

  go back and watch some shows before, where should

  I start? Yeah, so I recommend watching it all

  because I think that even if you don't need it

  going in, you'll probably just want some of that

  basis. There might be small things that come

  up. I haven't seen the whole series, obviously,

  but it starts with the Avatar, the last Airbender

  series. Going chronologically, you'll want to

  watch Avatar Aang. and then Legend of Korra for

  cable TV comm and we pulled our viewers on you

  know I just got a temperature check on the haters

  and the defenders so split pretty 50 -50, but

  leans more towards the defender side I'm not

  gonna lie. I'm surprised the hater number isn't

  more but maybe that's just what you see you see

  all the haters more than the you know defenders

  see all the hate out there but still about 50

  50 split is pretty substantial especially when

  they're like gonna you know start up a new series

  uh for avatar so what are you uh what are your

  thoughts emily are you uh where do you lie on

  this do you defend kora or hate it I actually

  thought there would be more haters than defenders.

  I am a defender and I always find myself in the
• 10:40
  minority, I feel like, but I think as a show,

  I think a lot to like about it. I think the kind
• 10:47
  of more like modern city style when it first
• 10:50
  came out, it was really cool. The competitive
• 10:52
  bending was really interesting. It did kind of
• 10:54
  steer away from some of that. It kind of, you
• 10:57
  know, got a mind of its own later on. But then
• 11:02
  as a character, I think she gets an unnecessary
• 11:04
  amount of hate for the amount of pressure that
• 11:06
  she had. So I consider myself a defender, but
• 11:11
  I see I see where some of the hate comes from.

  Kalin, what about you? I'm sensing something

  over there. Yeah, me and Emily agree on a lot
• 11:19
  of things, but of course not one. I'm a hater.

  And some of the reasons why is Nathan kind of
• 11:26
  mentioned this earlier is each season kind of
• 11:29
  seems very Separate from each other why in the
• 11:33
  original show we have the whole the whole three
• 11:36
  seasons is one continuous arc So I felt more
• 11:40
  connected While in Korra you have like some seasons
• 11:43
  that were good and then they kind of throw that
• 11:45
  away and go into something different so that
• 11:48
  was my biggest problem with it and I'm just excited
• 11:51
  to see the new show and and hopefully it doesn't
• 11:54
  have a similar problem as Korra did for me Okay,
• 11:58
  so some big expectations Well, let's wrap this
• 12:00
  up and kind of give a little recap of what we
• 12:01
  can expect with the avatar seven havens So the
• 12:04
  avatar comes in a threat not really a savior
• 12:07
  instead of being like a revered peacemaker Many
• 12:10
  in this world view the avatar as a dangerous
• 12:11
  destroyer. I mean, that's a new thing That's
• 12:13
  a new concept and then there's really that no
• 12:16
  past life guidance and that stinks to Korra So
• 12:18
  the connection to the past avatars is severed
• 12:20
  and really the avatar stands alone in this series
• 12:23
  And then we're back to that younger hero, kind
• 12:25
  of like where we had those teenage years with
• 12:27
  Korra. We're back to that younger age, right around
• 12:30
  where we saw Aang in the first series. And then
• 12:33
  we got the cute little creatures, right? Something
• 12:35
  super exciting to look forward to. Those cat
• 12:38
  monkeys, excited for that. And we get that little
• 12:42
  charm, okay? And then we're built in for the
• 12:44
  long game, guys. We got that first book coming
• 12:46
  out, the first episode should be out. You can
• 12:49
  be watching that every Friday, enjoying that
• 12:51
  every Friday for the end of October. But then

  that second book is really already set up for
• 12:54
