- 0:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that Uh, Chuck Norris was chasing the Tyrannosaurus Rex.
- 0:05Speaker 1: The rex was not chasing the jeep. Murray, Murray, you there.
- 0:09Speaker 1: You love sandwiches. Huh, Let's go to uh eighty. It
- 0:14Speaker 1: was bo wow that prime time. Maybe I had a
- 0:18Speaker 1: crush on Betty Rubbell. I honestly, until after the segment
- 0:21Speaker 1: ended and we went to a commercial break, had no
- 0:23Speaker 1: idea that Jonathan Coachman was black. He caught them the
- 0:26Speaker 1: game last night, although they won the game. You're listening
- 0:30Speaker 1: to to Gods in Company. It is to Gods and
- 0:32Speaker 1: Company presented by FanDuel and the FanDuel Sports Book. Please
- 0:35Speaker 1: to have Salakata on The Salacata Show wherever you get
- 0:38Speaker 1: your podcast. I'm sure he u he enjoyed the next
- 0:41Speaker 1: victory last night. I think we enjoyed it just a
- 0:43Speaker 1: bit too much. I gotta be honest, that was too
- 0:46Speaker 1: easy for the next sal I'm worried about him.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I don't know what to believe anymore.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Because I was.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I was optimistic, but treading with caution. I think the
- 0:53Speaker 2: Sixers could be dangerous. I've never seen anything like this.
- 0:57Speaker 2: It never happened before the next pace at the Hawks
- 0:59Speaker 2: Bice sixty or whatever. Was then again another forty point blowout,
- 1:03Speaker 2: back to back games, four straight games dominating their opponent.
- 1:07Speaker 2: I don't know what to believe. Can it be this
- 1:08Speaker 2: easy for the Knicks to get through the Eastern Conference?
- 1:11Speaker 1: It can't be this easy? Go ahead, Taylor to The.
- 1:14Speaker 4: Knicks are the first team in NBA history to win
- 1:16Speaker 4: three straight playoff games by twenty five plus points. What
- 1:20Speaker 4: you're seeing right now is Nick fans just completely forgetting
- 1:23Speaker 4: how to act because we look like we're the best
- 1:25Speaker 4: team in the NBA.
- 1:28Speaker 1: They're acting like we've won the championship already, forgetting about
- 1:31Speaker 1: Oklahoma City out West, forgetting about the fact that we
- 1:34Speaker 1: still have to get past Philadelphia, and forgetting about the
- 1:37Speaker 1: fact how these best of seven swing. It's such an
- 1:40Speaker 1: emotional way. So where after game one you forget, Oh,
- 1:44Speaker 1: you know what, Philadelphia coming off a seven game series
- 1:47Speaker 1: with Boston. You know Philly's gonna play better in game two.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I'm not saying they're gonna win the game, but the
- 1:52Speaker 1: Knicks are not gonna win all these games that easily.
- 1:54Speaker 1: And we tend to forget that throughout the course of
- 1:56Speaker 1: a seven game series.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Yeah, and Nick fans in particular. It's why I tried
- 2:00Speaker 2: to be level headed about it after what happened in Atlanta,
- 2:02Speaker 2: thinking Okay, well Atlanta is not that good and the
- 2:04Speaker 2: Knicks played perfect games basically the last three. I expect
- 2:08Speaker 2: the Sixers to be a challenge. As a matter of fact,
- 2:09Speaker 2: I think the if I were not a Nick fan,
- 2:12Speaker 2: just from an outside perspective, I would pick the Sixers
- 2:15Speaker 2: because I think that they're a dangerous team overcoming their
- 2:18Speaker 2: monster and beating the Celtics in Game seven. They have
- 2:20Speaker 2: weapons all over the floor. But then I watched that sto.
- 2:23Speaker 2: I mean that was an absolute ass kicking. Like the
- 2:26Speaker 2: Knicks shot sixty percent even if they shot thirty percent,
- 2:29Speaker 2: So what they win by fifteen instead of forty? I mean,
- 2:31Speaker 2: think about how dominant they were. I don't know if
- 2:33Speaker 2: the Sixers could stop them.
- 2:36Speaker 4: So Game one, Game one felt like it was gonna
- 2:39Speaker 4: be a house money game for the Sixers no matter what.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Game seven against Boston was Philadelphia's super Bowl. But it's
- 2:46Speaker 4: not like the scheduling gets much easier for the Sixers
- 2:49Speaker 4: this series, where every it's every other day for this
- 2:54Speaker 4: series in terms of like their players being able to
- 2:57Speaker 4: get rest unless it goes seven and then you get
- 2:59Speaker 4: the days. But I think one thing too, when you're like,
- 3:02Speaker 4: this is a sixer team that just beat the Celtics,
- 3:06Speaker 4: they beat Baylor Shireman Luca Garzen, Ron Harper Junior, Like
- 3:10Speaker 4: the Knicks are a lot better than that Boston.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Doctum. Hey, look, Towns is playing out of his mind.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I mean, this is here's how I would simplify it.
- 3:22Speaker 2: This is and I've said this before, and I think
- 3:24Speaker 2: we've probably talked about this before together. Taylor like, this
- 3:26Speaker 2: is the most talented Knicks team that I've ever seen
- 3:28Speaker 2: in my lifetime. That doesn't mean that it's going to
- 3:31Speaker 2: translate to victories. Are getting the finals even but when
- 3:34Speaker 2: they when you combine the talent with now the way
- 3:37Speaker 2: that they're playing them both ends of the floor, squashing
- 3:40Speaker 2: their last two opponents, I don't know how you can't
- 3:42Speaker 2: get excited thinking that it is their Eastern Conference, at
- 3:45Speaker 2: the very least their Eastern Conference to lose.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So Taylor is right in terms of the timing. They
- 3:50Speaker 1: rolled out of a seven game series in Boston, rolled
- 3:52Speaker 1: right into another seven game series with the Knicks, and
- 3:57Speaker 1: they only get a day off today before Game two
- 4:00Speaker 1: at the Garden tomorrow. But Mikey I see that smile.
- 4:04Speaker 1: I have to follow that face. They are but this
- 4:06Speaker 1: is the most talented team. We're discussing the Celtics. We
- 4:10Speaker 1: beat Gorza and Harper, not Tatum and Brown. It's like
- 4:13Speaker 1: the whole thing. I'm telling you, this is a fucking
- 4:16Speaker 1: recipe for disaster for the Knicks in their fan base,
- 4:20Speaker 1: and mikey A knows it because Taylor is too confident.
- 4:23Speaker 1: It's not you, sal It is just Taylor and everyone
- 4:26Speaker 1: who is like Taylor, who's been waiting around for this thing,
- 4:29Speaker 1: who loves this team. They are just too cocky and
- 4:32Speaker 1: too confident. The East is already ours. No, it's not.
- 4:35Speaker 5: I mean I can see the disaster coming. I can
- 4:39Speaker 5: see Taylor reaching for the hot stove and I want
- 4:43Speaker 5: to stop him from touching it, but I know I can't.
- 4:46Speaker 5: He's gonna touch the hot stove and he's gonna burn
- 4:49Speaker 5: his hand.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Yeah, where the confidence comes from. It's because we have
- 4:54Speaker 4: Jalen Bronston and you don't. It's going around the internet
- 5:00Speaker 4: right now. Everybody is better than Jalen Brunson until it's
- 5:04Speaker 4: time to be better than Jalen Brunson. Remember when you
- 5:06Speaker 4: would play baseball and you would swing a bat with
- 5:09Speaker 4: a donut, and then you swing with the donut, you
- 5:12Speaker 4: swing with the donut, you take the donut off, and
- 5:14Speaker 4: then that bat feels like a toothpick swing in it.
- 5:17Speaker 4: That's what's going on right now with Jalen Brunson having
- 5:20Speaker 4: to play last series against Dyson Daniels.
- 5:22Speaker 3: Now he's seeing VJ.
- 5:23Speaker 4: Edge coming and whatever's left of Paul George at this
- 5:26Speaker 4: point being like, uh, these two are barbecue chicken.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Let me tell you, I'm tired of Paul George being
- 5:31Speaker 1: sick before every game, and I'm tired of embeat on
- 5:33Speaker 1: the fucking courd complaining about everything. I mean, he gets
- 5:35Speaker 1: touched anywhere and it's like, holy shit, a team of
- 5:38Speaker 1: doctors has to come out of the court. I am
- 5:41Speaker 1: tired of the Sixers, but you are getting carried away
- 5:43Speaker 1: with the Knicks and listen, sal I'm not sure if
- 5:46Speaker 1: you're aware of this. Taylor at one point said on
- 5:49Speaker 1: the radio that Jalen Brunson has changed his life, and
- 5:51Speaker 1: I'm pretty certain he posted something on a Reddit page
- 5:54Speaker 1: last night that made me want to fucking throw up.
- 5:56Speaker 1: What'd you post on the Reddit page here? Taylor, I
- 5:59Speaker 1: didn't post.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I posted. There was a Nicks fan at the top.
- 6:05Speaker 4: The top comment on a Knicks post on Instagram, Sal
- 6:09Speaker 4: was a Knicks fan saying there are no works to
- 6:12Speaker 4: describe this man's impact on my life. And I think, Sal,
- 6:16Speaker 4: you have more of a pulse than Stu Gott's parachuting
- 6:20Speaker 4: into whenever the Knicks have any sort of success.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You haven't been successful in decades.
- 6:26Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 6:27Speaker 4: Yeah, and here you come, here comes Johnny come lately,
- 6:30Speaker 4: call him Josh Hart, Jason Hard by the way, I.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Was there in the nineties.
- 6:35Speaker 4: But Sal, you have more of a pulse on the
- 6:37Speaker 4: Knicks fan base. Me saying that Jalen Brunson has changed
- 6:40Speaker 4: my life is more consistent with how Knicks fans feel
- 6:44Speaker 4: about Jalen Brunson.
- 6:45Speaker 1: So hold on in seconds now before you respond to that.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Can a guy who takes you to the Eastern Conference Final?
- 6:52Speaker 1: And no further, Hali Burton, can can that guy change
- 6:55Speaker 1: your life? Okay? Me and Mikey were trying to tell
- 6:57Speaker 1: him as Jet fans, Mark sanj Aalen Brunson came in,
- 7:01Speaker 1: he is overachieved. Mark Sanchez came in and he took
- 7:05Speaker 1: the Jets to back to back AFC Championship games and
- 7:08Speaker 1: me and Mikey a Are saying it was a pleasant surprise,
- 7:11Speaker 1: But all Jet fans knew that they weren't really getting
- 7:14Speaker 1: to the AFC Championship game because of Mark Sanchez. They
- 7:18Speaker 1: were just getting there because the defense was good in
- 7:20Speaker 1: Sanchez wasn't making terrible mistakes. But by no means did
- 7:24Speaker 1: Mark Sanchez change my life? And he didn't change Mikey
- 7:27Speaker 1: A's life. He got to an AFC championship game, he
- 7:31Speaker 1: get to a conference final, and then come out and
- 7:33Speaker 1: claim the best player on the team change your life.
- 7:35Speaker 3: You can't do it.
- 7:36Speaker 1: He has a change your life didn't change anything.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I think Tom Thibodeau and Julius Randall got the Knicks
- 7:42Speaker 2: back to the playoffs and started to build that foundation
- 7:45Speaker 2: of consistency. And I'm assuming you're talking about changing your life,
- 7:47Speaker 2: meaning that the Knicks are good again. We have the
- 7:50Speaker 2: opportunity to watch the Knicks consistently in the postseason, winning
- 7:53Speaker 2: each first round. It started with Tams and Randall. I
- 7:56Speaker 2: agree that Brunton has changed that because he is one
- 8:00Speaker 2: of the best players in a league. Could say he's
- 8:01Speaker 2: gonna be a championship guy. He's not the lead dog
- 8:04Speaker 2: whatever he might be. Yeah, okay, right, he might be.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Where I agree with Sue. So I agree with Taylor
- 8:08Speaker 2: and that he's changed Nick fans lives and that they're
- 8:10Speaker 2: a consistent, legitimate contender in the Eastern Conference playoffs every year,
- 8:14Speaker 2: usually second round every year at minimum. Where I'm with you, Stu,
- 8:18Speaker 2: is that? Why is that good enough? Why are Nick
- 8:20Speaker 2: fans literally dancing in the streets after round one and
- 8:25Speaker 2: then after game one round two like they're supposed to
- 8:28Speaker 2: beat the sixers. They're also supposed to get to the
- 8:31Speaker 2: finals bare minimum. So I just I know the standards
- 8:34Speaker 2: are because of the Knicks being so bad for two
- 8:37Speaker 2: decades after the great nineties runs which ended without a championship.
- 8:41Speaker 3: I think we.
- 8:42Speaker 2: Lowered our standards a little bit to where we shouldn't
- 8:43Speaker 2: be taking bows in the second round. Brunston should be
- 8:46Speaker 2: judged ultimately like Ewing was is to deliver a championship
- 8:50Speaker 2: or not. And at least you got to a finals too,
- 8:53Speaker 2: But Brunton's got to get to a finals before I
- 8:55Speaker 2: start talking about life changing and all that.
- 8:57Speaker 1: Right now, I will say that Jalen br he has
- 8:59Speaker 1: a chance to be and the guy who wins the
- 9:02Speaker 1: Knicks of title, and he's their best player and the
- 9:04Speaker 1: head coach. They're gonna be beloved in New York for
- 9:07Speaker 1: the remainder of time. They will be the two most
- 9:10Speaker 1: popular sports figures, figures really in the state of New York,
- 9:15Speaker 1: in the city of New York. There's no question about it.
- 9:18Speaker 1: But can we get there? Can we get to the
- 9:20Speaker 1: NBA finals? Before we start asking are we playing ourselves
- 9:24Speaker 1: in the East.
- 9:25Speaker 4: We cannot breathe past the fact how idiotic the comparison
- 9:30Speaker 4: to Mark sanchezis.
- 9:32Speaker 1: It is perfect doom, not in the same distance. No, no, no, Mikey,
- 9:36Speaker 1: He's right, Sanchez had higher expectations.
- 9:40Speaker 3: It twice.
- 9:42Speaker 4: Do not compare a three time All NBA player with
- 9:46Speaker 4: the quarterback who threw for twenty nine touchdowns to thirty
- 9:50Speaker 4: three interceptions his first two years. There's no comparison there.
- 9:53Speaker 4: He got carried by his defense. Jalen Brunson is the
- 9:56Speaker 4: guy doing the carrying.
- 9:58Speaker 5: I expect Nick fans to act more are like Yankee
- 10:00Speaker 5: fans or Giant fans than I do Jet fans, And frankly,
- 10:03Speaker 5: I'm disappointed.
- 10:04Speaker 3: I'm disappointed in you.
- 10:05Speaker 1: Taylor act like you've been there before.
- 10:09Speaker 5: Act like you've been there, Act like you expect to
- 10:11Speaker 5: be there.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Yeah, why would we expect to be there?
- 10:15Speaker 4: I'm I'm the same person that watched the lineup of
- 10:18Speaker 4: Caadeem Allen, Damon Dotson, Kevin Knox, Noah Vonley, and Louke
- 10:21Speaker 4: Cornett stink.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Yeah, okay for.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Those guys Nicks I checked out at that point.
- 10:28Speaker 4: You plays the Galloway election, Andre and Barnardi, Louli Munson,
- 10:35Speaker 4: Lance Thomas.
- 10:36Speaker 1: Yeah, maybe listen, I was watching what Trent Tucker was playing.
- 10:39Speaker 1: I mean.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Maybe two of those guys. Look, I'm with I'm with
- 10:45Speaker 2: Taylor on this. That Brunton is. Jalen Brunson right now
- 10:49Speaker 2: is the king of New York City. And I'm not
- 10:51Speaker 2: even just saying because it's going on in the postseason,
- 10:53Speaker 2: Like we know what happens with Aaron Judge Brunt. The
- 10:56Speaker 2: Nicks are the one team that everybody comes together in
- 10:58Speaker 2: this town. Brunton has taken the Knicks to the level.
- 11:00Speaker 2: I said it a couple of years ago. I would
- 11:02Speaker 2: not trade Jalen Brunson for anybody. I know that Sga
- 11:05Speaker 2: is better than he is. There's nobody that better embodies
- 11:08Speaker 2: the Knicks this town than Jalen Brunson. Now, it's just
- 11:12Speaker 2: gonna be a question of can he get over the
- 11:13Speaker 2: hump where I just I'm not gonna be going nuts
- 11:16Speaker 2: over the second round where Starks and Oakley and those guys.
- 11:19Speaker 2: So even Mellow got into the second round like Jalen
- 11:22Speaker 2: Brunson could do that. Can he get them over the hump?
- 11:25Speaker 2: That's when he becomes a true legendary figure like youan,
- 11:29Speaker 2: like Messia, like Jeter.
- 11:30Speaker 4: If he could do that, then he's the next level.
- 11:33Speaker 4: So sal Push comes to shove. For some reason, the
- 11:36Speaker 4: Spurs call you and they say Victor wen Benyama for
- 11:39Speaker 4: Jalen Brunson.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Don't you dare say no, don't do it. Yes you are,
- 11:43Speaker 1: because I know this is your cam Schlitzler, Paul take
- 11:47Speaker 1: right now. I'll be very careful.
- 11:48Speaker 4: I care.
- 11:49Speaker 2: I know how good Wenby can be, I know how
- 11:53Speaker 2: good Sga is. I don't care. I'd rather lose with
- 11:58Speaker 2: my guy than win with somebody else. I believe Brunson
- 12:01Speaker 2: can still be the guy to get them over the top.
- 12:04Speaker 2: I think winning with Brunson would be so much more
- 12:08Speaker 2: gratifying than it would be winning with some mercenary like
- 12:11Speaker 2: we Byana or SGA. Now it's not realistic, but I
- 12:14Speaker 2: still wouldn't do it, just because that's how much I
- 12:16Speaker 2: love everything that Jalen Brunson means to this town, to
- 12:19Speaker 2: the city, his mentality, all the above.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I get what he means to the city. I understand
- 12:24Speaker 1: that Yama is a generational talents. Okay, not only would
- 12:27Speaker 1: I trade Jalen Brunson straight up for Wemben Yama, I
- 12:30Speaker 1: would throw in any other two players the Spurs want back.
- 12:33Speaker 2: How about that the Nate's already beat Wemby in the
- 12:35Speaker 2: Cups too. We got the Cup.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I forgot. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I forgot about the
- 12:42Speaker 1: nd season tournament. My apologies. We already won a trophy
- 12:45Speaker 1: this year without Wemby. I'm sorry, my apologies. Yes, Pikey,
- 12:52Speaker 1: this is crazy.
- 12:54Speaker 3: This is bananas to me. This is by the way,
- 12:57Speaker 3: but I love it. But this is.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Sorts fandom with the day after you blow out the
- 13:01Speaker 1: seventy six ers, you would hit Drade Brunton straight up
- 13:04Speaker 1: from Wemby. I love it. The Knicks would do that today.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Just all we're clear, they would do it.
- 13:08Speaker 3: Taylor, Yes, I promise you.
- 13:12Speaker 5: It'll mean the same to you if you do it
- 13:14Speaker 5: with Wemby, then if you did it.
- 13:15Speaker 3: With Jalen, it'll be the same. You will have won,
- 13:20Speaker 3: and that's all that matters.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Put it on the pole. Would it feel the same
- 13:23Speaker 1: if it were Brunting or Wemby?
- 13:27Speaker 3: Also?
- 13:28Speaker 1: Put that on the pole?
- 13:29Speaker 3: Please?
- 13:30Speaker 4: You know the you know the clip in Happy Gilmore
- 13:32Speaker 4: where it's like, yeah, Happy makes a putt and he's like, oh, oh,
- 13:36Speaker 4: Happy learned how to putt. Yeah, mckkel bridge is playing
- 13:39Speaker 4: with confidence. That's that's the same vibe right now.
- 13:43Speaker 3: Now you're losing me.
- 13:46Speaker 1: What is happy learning the putt?
- 13:47Speaker 3: I mean putt?
- 13:49Speaker 1: Yeah, you're a putts yes.
- 13:52Speaker 4: And like once happy once Happy Gilmore learned how to
- 13:55Speaker 4: put everybody else was in trouble. If mckl bridges starts
- 13:58Speaker 4: playing with some confidence, everybody else is in trouble.
- 14:01Speaker 2: It's a pretty big if. Though, Taylor, you had me
- 14:04Speaker 2: with Bronson, you had me with Happy. I don't know
- 14:05Speaker 2: about michel Bridges. He's played great both ends of the floor,
- 14:08Speaker 2: specifically defensively. He's got the potential to do what he
- 14:12Speaker 2: did last night, which makes them dangerous. I'm not putting
- 14:14Speaker 2: all my Eggs in the Michael Bridges best.
- 14:16Speaker 1: You cannot criticize Taylor.
- 14:18Speaker 2: You just trade.
- 14:19Speaker 1: You just refuse the trade for Wemby.
- 14:23Speaker 2: We say Webby's a walking stick figure. He says his
- 14:26Speaker 2: lower body is gonna hold up.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Come on, right, And now that I'm thinking about it,
- 14:31Speaker 4: I'm getting my Adam Sandler movies confused because the reference
- 14:34Speaker 4: I was trying to make was in uh Billy Madison
- 14:38Speaker 4: where he catches the dodgeball and he's like, now you're
- 14:40Speaker 4: in big trouble.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Yes, right, because he's an adult playing dodgeball with kids.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yes, now they're in big trouble. If Mickel Bridges could.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Play like that, yeah, well, if he could play like
- 14:48Speaker 1: that every single night, it's a big if, don't you think.
- 14:51Speaker 1: I mean I throw him into the trade for Wenby.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I would happy. Did say somebody.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Learned how to put Yeah happened.
- 15:02Speaker 1: Oh this is so good though, I mean, the Knick
- 15:08Speaker 1: fan is feeling so good. Listen, I'm a Knicks fan.
- 15:11Speaker 3: I feel great. We have a chance.
- 15:14Speaker 1: I don't know if we're gonna win the title simply
- 15:16Speaker 1: because of the team that plays out West.
- 15:18Speaker 2: I mean, you know, that's the hard thing there's to
- 15:22Speaker 2: me a fine line between cautiously optimistic, enjoying this run
- 15:26Speaker 2: but also knowing what's looming. I'll tell you this those two.
- 15:29Speaker 2: I feel as good about the Knicks today as I
- 15:32Speaker 2: felt period in my life, including those teams that I
- 15:35Speaker 2: loved with every fiber of my being in the nineties.
- 15:39Speaker 2: This has to be the closest that they've I know,
- 15:41Speaker 2: ninety four they just fell short. Stark shot in game six,
- 15:43Speaker 2: Starks fell apart in game seven. But certainly since then,
- 15:46Speaker 2: this is the most real it's ever felt that it
- 15:49Speaker 2: can happen, even with knowing the roadblock of the Thunder,
- 15:53Speaker 2: who I don't think anybody would expect to be But
- 15:56Speaker 2: if the Knicks play like this and the Thunder maybe
- 15:58Speaker 2: aren't as hungry because they want to last, maybe they
- 16:00Speaker 2: played there a minus game. In the Knicks play their
- 16:02Speaker 2: A plus game, there's at least a shot, and certainly
- 16:05Speaker 2: the East is wide open where now I would be.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I think it'd be a disaster if the Knicks weren't
- 16:09Speaker 2: in the NBA Finals.
- 16:10Speaker 1: That's fair, I mean, that's fair. Right when you consider
- 16:13Speaker 1: the landscape of the Eastern Conference. They have to get
- 16:15Speaker 1: past Philadelphia here and then they play the winner of
- 16:18Speaker 1: Cleveland and Detroit. They'd be the favorites against either of
- 16:22Speaker 1: those teams, right, they would be the favorite if they
- 16:23Speaker 1: played them in the Eastern Conference.
- 16:25Speaker 3: Finals, I would assume.
- 16:26Speaker 2: So I'm not one hundred percent sure about Detroit, but
- 16:28Speaker 2: I would assume the Nicks would be the favorite, even
- 16:30Speaker 2: it's by a small margin.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Yeah, since Game three of the Hawk series, they have
- 16:34Speaker 1: been on quite the run. They've been incredible, But don't
- 16:37Speaker 1: you expect those numbers over a larger sample size that
- 16:40Speaker 1: kind of come down, Like they're not gonna shoot sixty
- 16:43Speaker 1: three percent from the field for the entire series against Philadelphia.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I did think that, but I didn't think it was
- 16:50Speaker 2: gonna happen even in Game one. Like if you were
- 16:52Speaker 2: to ask me, do I think the Nick's gonna win
- 16:53Speaker 2: by forty again, I would say, no way, I would
- 16:55Speaker 2: think that it's I would have bet that it was
- 16:57Speaker 2: more likely the Knicks would lose than win by thirty
- 17:00Speaker 2: nine points or whatever it was exactly. And yet that
- 17:02Speaker 2: wasn't even a game. It was garb Barger's time. If
- 17:04Speaker 2: they played their starters the whole way, they could have
- 17:05Speaker 2: won that game by seventy points last night year. It
- 17:07Speaker 2: just keeps continuing.
- 17:09Speaker 3: STU, so on FanDuel.
- 17:11Speaker 4: Right now, there's three teams with NBA Championship odds that
- 17:14Speaker 4: are shorter than a thousand. The Thunder minus won seventy
- 17:19Speaker 4: she he Spurs plus four seventy, and then the Knicks
- 17:25Speaker 4: or plus nine hundred. The next closest is the Pistons
- 17:27Speaker 4: at plus eighteen hundred. But Stu, going back to a
- 17:30Speaker 4: point you made earlier. Yeah, Joel Embiid, Oh no for him,
- 17:35Speaker 4: I mean jesus him implying in the post game that
- 17:39Speaker 4: mckel Bridges. The play with mckel Bridges where he tries
- 17:42Speaker 4: to run through his screen and hits him in his
- 17:44Speaker 4: abs might have been dirty. They asked him the postgame.
- 17:46Speaker 4: He said, I don't know if it was dirty or not.
- 17:49Speaker 4: I just felt like it was unnecessary. I guess we
- 17:51Speaker 4: gotta do it too. To them, Joe Embiid, give me
- 17:55Speaker 4: a break. It's basketball. Joel Embiid wants to wear a
- 17:57Speaker 4: sign it out there during the game that says, don't
- 17:59Speaker 4: make contact with me.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I just had surgery.
- 18:01Speaker 1: It's not just basketball to play off basketball Taal. And
- 18:04Speaker 1: let's be clear here, Okay, I mean enough Michal Bridges
- 18:07Speaker 1: you could do it to him. I guarantee you he
- 18:09Speaker 1: wouldn't have the reaction to Bead had last night. Jesus, like,
- 18:12Speaker 1: he had to go to the hospital. It's unbelievable.
- 18:14Speaker 3: I mean, hey, hey, or embiid his tummy hurts.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Leave him alone. I mean, well, listen, he had surgery there.
- 18:19Speaker 1: I understand it. But you know what Bridges or any
- 18:22Speaker 1: Nick fan or anyone who plays against them supposed to.
- 18:24Speaker 1: You can't touch him. Every inch of his body hurts.
- 18:27Speaker 1: It's unbelievable.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Like my grandmother used to walk around before, Oh you Tom,
- 18:34Speaker 2: you play the NBA, Bro, you're gonna get there's gonna
- 18:36Speaker 2: be some contact. I'm sorry. He can't move, he's hobble,
- 18:39Speaker 2: he's brittle. I mean, what's going on with this guy?
- 18:41Speaker 1: There are times where I watch him play and I'm like, hey,
- 18:43Speaker 1: I'm more nimble than that guy.
- 18:47Speaker 3: The rare athlete.
- 18:48Speaker 1: You're more nimble who happens to be one of the
- 18:51Speaker 1: greatest deathletes we've ever seen. It's unbelievable this guy, Jesus,
- 18:58Speaker 1: I have a little bit of trip here. Yeah, there's
- 19:01Speaker 1: only been one MVP in NBA history to never make
- 19:05Speaker 1: the conference finals in their career, and you guess that's
- 19:07Speaker 1: who it is. One MVP to never make the conference
- 19:12Speaker 1: finals in his career. Wow, it's good.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Embiid, it's embiid, and you saw exactly why yesterday.
- 19:22Speaker 2: The semi sixers, as I used to call them, the
- 19:24Speaker 2: Philadelphia seventy six ers, they never get out of the
- 19:26Speaker 2: semifinal round.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're expecting Game two to be closer, right,
- 19:30Speaker 1: You're expecting you're expecting Game two five minutes to go
- 19:34Speaker 1: fourth quarter, either team to have a shot at winning
- 19:37Speaker 1: that game, right.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I can't help it. I don't know if it's because
- 19:39Speaker 2: I've been scarred as a sports fan, but kind of
- 19:41Speaker 2: what mikey A was saying before, where I don't want
- 19:43Speaker 2: to I'm afraid to touch the stove. I've been burned
- 19:46Speaker 2: so many times. So I want to believe what my
- 19:48Speaker 2: eyes are seeing, and I do to a certain extent.
- 19:51Speaker 2: But I still do believe Philadelphia is dangerous. I can't
- 19:53Speaker 2: believe the Niggs are going to maintain this level of
- 19:56Speaker 2: play that combined with Philadelphia having a lot of weapons.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Paul Joy looks like a different player. He's throwing back
- 20:01Speaker 2: the clock, embad MAXI speed edgecomb. Yes, I do think
- 20:06Speaker 2: I do think you're gonna get a much better and
- 20:08Speaker 2: the adjustments that Nick Nurse clearly has to make because
- 20:11Speaker 2: the Knicks just destroy them. I think you're gonna get
- 20:13Speaker 2: a much more contested game here and a better effort
- 20:16Speaker 2: from the Sixers.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Mikey he doesn't want to put his hands too close
- 20:19Speaker 1: to the stove, but he just refused to trade of
- 20:21Speaker 1: webin Yama for Jaen Bruns. I love I listen, I
- 20:29Speaker 1: love him too, but I like winning championships and weben
- 20:32Speaker 1: Yama's not gonna win one. He's gonna win ten.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I understand it's irrational. I understand that, but that's I
- 20:38Speaker 2: I like the entertainment value of it. I wouldn't have
- 20:40Speaker 2: traded you win for anybody. I wouldn't have traded starts anybody.
- 20:44Speaker 3: You're right.
- 20:44Speaker 2: Huson built this team back up. You know what, Tailor,
- 20:47Speaker 2: You're right. He's changed my life.
- 20:49Speaker 1: I get.
- 20:54Speaker 4: You.
- 20:58Speaker 2: He doesn't want to got his too close to the stove.
- 21:02Speaker 2: He just craffed it.
- 21:08Speaker 1: He didn't touch it with a finger tip, he just
- 21:09Speaker 1: put his hands flat.
- 21:22Speaker 3: So there's really.
- 21:22Speaker 4: Nothing else to talk about from this Knick Sixers game.
- 21:25Speaker 4: With how with how pathetic Philadelphia was in the game.
- 21:29Speaker 4: So the biggest question to come from that game celebrities
- 21:34Speaker 4: and the met Gala, because Timothy Shallomey is a huge
- 21:38Speaker 4: Knicks fan. It seems like he told Kylie Jenner, hey,
- 21:41Speaker 4: go kick Rocks, have fun at the fun at the Metcala.
- 21:43Speaker 4: I'm going to game one. And then the the opposite
- 21:46Speaker 4: side of that, Ben Stiller, where nobody's questioning Ben Steelers
- 21:49Speaker 4: Knicks bonup fides. But he looked like a hostage out
- 21:53Speaker 4: there at the Metcala because he wasn't at Madison Square guarded.
- 21:56Speaker 1: Wait, so Stiller went to the Mecgala, shaalome did not?
- 22:00Speaker 1: He did not?
- 22:01Speaker 4: Yeah, So, so Stiller was on the red carpet and
- 22:03Speaker 4: he was doing like he had like an orange tide
- 22:06Speaker 4: for the Knicks, and he was doing like Nixon six.
- 22:08Speaker 4: I'd rather be at the Mecca. And still it feels
- 22:11Speaker 4: like you you could have been there if you really want.
- 22:13Speaker 1: If you're Ben Stiller and you'd rather be at the
- 22:14Speaker 1: Mecca than be at the fucking Mecca, what do you doing?
- 22:17Speaker 1: I question now whether or not Ben Stiller is a
- 22:19Speaker 1: Nick fan at all. I gotta be honest with you.
- 22:20Speaker 2: But let's let's talk about the differences. Between the two
- 22:24Speaker 2: Shalla May yeahsus in his relationship versus Stiller and his Yeah,
- 22:29Speaker 2: Stiller's married.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Yeah, Ben Stiller sounds like.
- 22:31Speaker 1: A married I forgot right, right, He's fucked.
- 22:36Speaker 2: He had no choice. Yeah, in his face, he's miserable.
- 22:41Speaker 2: He's married.
- 22:41Speaker 3: He's there.
- 22:42Speaker 2: Shalam Is like, I'll see you later, Coyle, I'll catch
- 22:44Speaker 2: up with Kendall cal whatever, I'll catch up with I'm
- 22:46Speaker 2: going to the next game. You go do your thing,
- 22:48Speaker 2: we'll catch up later. That's the way it should be.
- 22:50Speaker 1: He told her to kick right.
- 22:55Speaker 5: I picture how that whole thing went down in the
- 22:57Speaker 5: Stiller household, where he's like.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Hey, we made it to the second around. Good news.
- 23:01Speaker 3: Monday night, we're going to the game. Uh no, we
- 23:04Speaker 3: have a we have an event Monday night. Yeah, but
- 23:06Speaker 3: the Knicks they got Yeah, but it's on the calendar.
- 23:09Speaker 3: You're going to the met Gala. Sorry, Yeah, that's.
- 23:14Speaker 1: You gotta flirt with divorce if you really want it,
- 23:16Speaker 1: like I question I did, like, Hey, I'm going to
- 23:19Speaker 1: the Nick game and if you want to leave me,
- 23:20Speaker 1: leave me, you go to the fucking met Gala. I'm
- 23:22Speaker 1: going to the Knicks game. And if you want to
- 23:23Speaker 1: divorce me afterwards. Go ahead, I mean there is and stup.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Ben Steeler isn't some like casual Knicks fan. He's tweeting
- 23:30Speaker 1: about like the Knicks playing the Jazz in like the
- 23:33Speaker 1: middle of January. I know it's all hollow now, all
- 23:37Speaker 1: of it.
- 23:38Speaker 2: The met gala may be the super Bowl for his wife.
- 23:41Speaker 2: So if you're a hand, you're like, like, I really
- 23:43Speaker 2: want to go to the game, but there's gonna be
- 23:44Speaker 2: plenty of the games I have to This is the
- 23:46Speaker 2: one spot throughout the year that I have to cater
- 23:50Speaker 2: to her because this is her super Bowl. I'm assuming, yeah,
- 23:53Speaker 2: for super Bowl, the stupid megala that who cares about
- 23:55Speaker 2: this stuff anyway, But he's got to suck it up
- 23:58Speaker 2: as the husband. I actually expect him more for that.
- 24:00Speaker 2: He looked miserable, which I could respect. He wore Nick Collors,
- 24:03Speaker 2: he wore orange, she wore blue.
- 24:05Speaker 1: So he was making it very clear that he was
- 24:07Speaker 1: a misery and that he wanted to be at the
- 24:08Speaker 1: next game. Okay, all right, I'm coming around, all right,
- 24:11Speaker 1: bet his back, all right.
- 24:13Speaker 3: He should have shown up wearing shackles.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Chained to his wife his life.
- 24:21Speaker 4: This might be a dumb question when it comes to
- 24:23Speaker 4: the MET Gala. I get they dress up. I get
- 24:26Speaker 4: they do the red carpet. Then what what is the
- 24:29Speaker 4: rest of the event.
- 24:30Speaker 1: I have no idea. I mean, well, you're at the
- 24:33Speaker 1: mala and it's a gala.
- 24:35Speaker 3: Yeah done.
- 24:35Speaker 1: I mean I'm certain there's food and drinks and they're
- 24:38Speaker 1: bidding on stuff. I don't know.
- 24:40Speaker 3: I'm sure it's pretentious.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Look who you're asking, you're asking me salad, mikeyya, What's
- 24:45Speaker 1: what's it like inside the met Gala?
- 24:49Speaker 2: I don't think it's a great question because I've never
- 24:51Speaker 2: even thought about that before. I always look at like,
- 24:52Speaker 2: look at these eighty hs dressed like clowns. What are
- 24:55Speaker 2: we doing? You waste of time? Why giving him attention?
- 24:57Speaker 2: What is it like an art thing? What the hell
- 24:59Speaker 2: is going on?
- 25:01Speaker 1: I thought it was a get together form Met fans
- 25:02Speaker 1: every year.
- 25:03Speaker 5: I mean, I love that they all get inside and
- 25:08Speaker 5: they look around and they go, well, now what.
- 25:11Speaker 1: We're twelve games below.
- 25:12Speaker 4: Because Mikey, when you do think about the Met gal
- 25:17Speaker 4: you just think like, okay, they walk the red carpet
- 25:20Speaker 4: and then it almost feels like they just walk out
- 25:22Speaker 4: an exit in the back and kind of go their
- 25:24Speaker 4: separate ways.
- 25:25Speaker 1: That's what Stiller should have done, right to Madison Square Garden.
- 25:27Speaker 5: I mean, jeez, they show up in those ridiculous outfits
- 25:30Speaker 5: that you need three people to help you get up
- 25:32Speaker 5: the stairs, and then they get in and I feel like,
- 25:35Speaker 5: ten minutes in they go, this was a bad choice.
- 25:37Speaker 3: This is like, now that I'm in here, I have
- 25:39Speaker 3: to wear this all night and this sucks.
- 25:41Speaker 1: MB doesn't wear an outfit and five people have to
- 25:44Speaker 1: help him up the stairs.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I mean, it's unbelievable.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Guy. Indeed, Jesus Chraty might as well have gone to
- 25:52Speaker 1: the met Galla last night, the whole team. Oh god,
