Speaker 1: And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
• 0:07
Speaker 1: What's up, everybody, Welcome to move the stick DJ Bucky
• 0:09
Speaker 1: rat back with you. On a Monday, following a crazy
• 0:12
Speaker 1: week of action, we had well, let's be honest, we
• 0:15
Speaker 1: had the highly the weekend app State beating James Madison.
• 0:18
Speaker 1: Neither here nor there.
• 0:18
Speaker 2: We'll do NFL stuff.
• 0:19
  Speaker 1: We won't, we won't. We won't spend a lot of
• 0:22
Speaker 1: tuck on that. It was an enjoyable flight, by the way,
• 0:25
Speaker 1: real quick on that one. I'm on the flight, the
• 0:28
Speaker 1: Charters flight to Wisconsin. The Wi FI was not great.
• 0:32
Speaker 1: So my son is actually texting me play by play
• 0:36
Speaker 1: and it gets to the point where it's James Madison
• 0:39
Speaker 1: has a third or no fourth and eighteen from at
• 0:43
Speaker 1: like the APP thirty eight at the end of the
• 0:45
Speaker 1: regular maybe a minute and change left APP States up
• 0:48
Speaker 1: by eight. And then I just I see the bubbles,
• 0:51
Speaker 1: and I'm telling you, there's there. There's an anticipation when
• 0:55
Speaker 1: there's you're waiting on some big news and you see bubbles.
• 0:57
Speaker 1: I imagine it's like, oh yeah, maybe liked the younger
• 1:00
Speaker 1: generation now that has this iPhone era, Maybe that's like
• 1:03
Speaker 1: my pregnant, like is it a boy or a girl?
• 1:05
Speaker 1: Bubbles like anticipation, there's some anticipation there, but the uh
• 1:12
Speaker 1: but he says first down and my thought was who, like,
• 1:16
Speaker 1: did they get us stop and get or did they
• 1:18
Speaker 1: get And he said, now they converted it and then
• 1:20
Speaker 1: what are The next text was touchdown. The next text
• 1:22
Speaker 1: was they got the two point of version. I was like,
• 1:24
Speaker 1: this is painful, but then ended up wing overtime, so
• 1:27
Speaker 1: it ended up being a happy day. But I was
• 1:29
Speaker 1: just saying, the anxiety of the bubbles, that's a real
• 1:31
Speaker 1: that's real there, bubbles. Agatch buck. How was your weekend, man.
• 1:36
Speaker 2: Well, the weekend was great when the Jaguars won.
• 1:39
Speaker 3: It was crummy because Carolina lost to Clemson again down
• 1:42
Speaker 3: in Devin Valley. The basketball team looks good though, so
• 1:45
Speaker 3: I'm excited about basketball season.
• 1:46
Speaker 2: I'm excited about basketball season.
• 1:48
Speaker 1: Yeah, you know there eventually and it's yeah, he's the
• 1:55
Speaker 1: end of the year.
• 1:56
Speaker 4: Yeah, we're just gonna you know, I need a minute,
• 1:59
Speaker 4: this team a minute.
• 2:01
Speaker 1: Let's all figure it out, all right, you guys want
• 2:04
Speaker 1: to jump into these games, let's get in. I'll start
• 2:06
Speaker 1: us off. Yeah, I'm up first, I'm betting lead off
• 2:09
Speaker 1: today Chargers. Hey, guys, surprise, it came down to the
• 2:12
Speaker 1: very end of a Charger game. It's like, I've never
• 2:14
Speaker 1: seen this before. They lost their fifth game by three
• 2:18
Speaker 1: or fewer points on the season.
• 2:21
Speaker 2: Is that crazy? Buck?
• 2:22
Speaker 1: It's every week every week. It's like it's kind of
• 2:26
Speaker 1: exhausting to call the games. I can't imagine from a
• 2:29
Speaker 1: player standpoint, but I mean, you guys have know you
• 2:31
Speaker 1: guys have been around teams, you played on teams forever, Like,
• 2:34
Speaker 1: how often is it that you go a whole season.
• 2:36
Speaker 1: It's like you don't get that. Hey, let's get the
• 2:38
Speaker 1: backups in there. Let's rest a little bit, Let's take
• 2:40
Speaker 1: a little break. Hey, hey, we're getting blown out in
• 2:42
Speaker 1: this one. Let's back off. You know, let's save our guys. No,
• 2:45
Speaker 1: every week is a nail bike all in. It's crazy.
• 2:50
Speaker 1: On the positive side of things, I'll start the positive
• 2:52
Speaker 1: side of things for both teams. Both these quarterbacks, same
• 2:55
Speaker 1: draft class. We talked to them both down at the
• 2:58
Speaker 1: Senior Bowl. Remember back in that draft of twenty twenty
• 3:00
Speaker 1: draft was it twenty twenty? Is that right? Or no?
• 3:03
  Speaker 2: It was?
• 3:04
Speaker 5: Uh, yeah, it was toy twenty.
• 3:05
Speaker 1: Yeah, twenty twenty Borow draft. Yeah, so that was uh,
• 3:08
Speaker 1: it was good to see those guys. Both played really well.
• 3:10
Speaker 1: I thought Herbert actually played the best game of the year.
• 3:13
Speaker 1: Something we've talked about exhausting the down, using your legs,
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: making things happen.
• 3:17
  Speaker 2: He did it.
• 3:17
Speaker 1: He had he had over seventy yards rush and it
• 3:19
Speaker 1: was eight carries, but one of them was was a
• 3:21
Speaker 1: bad snap and one was a neil. So he was
• 3:23
Speaker 1: getting over ten yards of pop when he took off
• 3:26
Speaker 1: with the ball and he only got hit twice. So
• 3:29
Speaker 1: it's kind of like a you know, you get all
• 3:30
Speaker 1: the boom without any of the busts, like you get
• 3:32
Speaker 1: all the yardage and the big plays and he's not
• 3:34
Speaker 1: taking any hits. It was kind of mahomes esque from
• 3:37
Speaker 1: that standpoint, and he was he was he was killed
• 3:39
Speaker 1: by drops. The sun was in Keenan Allen's eyes on. Yeah,
• 3:44
  Speaker 1: it was bad.
• 3:45
  Speaker 5: Two drops, man.
• 3:46
Speaker 1: I don't know if you could see it. I don't know.
• 3:48
Speaker 1: I don't know what it looks like on TV. So
• 3:50
  Speaker 1: because I don't hear the t I don't I don't
• 3:52
Speaker 1: hear the TV cop, I don't know what they're saying.
• 3:54
Speaker 1: But I mean, where you can see, is it was
• 3:56
Speaker 1: lit up like a Christmas tree in that end zone,
• 3:59
Speaker 1: and you could see him turn round and as soon
• 4:00
Speaker 1: as and I got my binoculars on him, he doesn't
• 4:03
Speaker 1: get his hands up, so it just the touch. Yeah,
• 4:06
Speaker 1: it almost, And it went bounced off in like four
• 4:08
Speaker 1: yards and you see him immediately he immediately points up
• 4:11
Speaker 1: like and I'm like, oh, he can't he couldn't see.
• 4:13
Speaker 5: It well when the ball came from the shade.
• 4:15
Speaker 4: Yeah, Herbert threw it from the last little bit of
• 4:18
Speaker 4: shade right into the you know, the surface of the sun.
• 4:20
Speaker 5: And yeah, I mean, I get it.
• 4:22
  Speaker 1: That's tough. I mean I didn't know, so I don't
• 4:24
Speaker 1: know what the narratives are on these Like I don't
• 4:25
Speaker 1: know what's being said on the broadcast. I don't know, like, oh,
• 4:27
Speaker 1: they're crushing Keynum. It was tough, and now Parum had
• 4:30
Speaker 1: one earlier in the game the same it was. The
• 4:32
Speaker 1: sun could have been involved in that, I don't know,
• 4:33
Speaker 1: but that was a big drop. And then obviously Quentin
• 4:36
Speaker 1: Johnston on a home run ball that would have been potentially,
• 4:39
Speaker 1: you know, kind of a walk off game winner, over
• 4:42
Speaker 1: the shoulder, he drops it. He's not comfortable confident with
• 4:45
Speaker 1: his hands. It was the issue with him coming out.
• 4:47
Speaker 1: It's what we all said, it's what we talked about,
• 4:49
Speaker 1: and it's followed him to the NFL. And it's also
• 4:53
Speaker 1: it's going back into that big twelve wide receiver conversation
• 4:57
Speaker 1: of that long laundry list of guys who have not
• 4:59
Speaker 1: hit out of that conference. You've got Ceedee Lamb who's
• 5:02
Speaker 1: been awesome, and then you also have Hollywood Brown's been
• 5:05
Speaker 1: really good, and then Lockett who's been really good. You
• 5:08
Speaker 1: got those three guys, but the other of like the
• 5:11
Speaker 1: last twenty guys, the other like seventeen of them have
• 5:13
Speaker 1: not hit, and they've had a profile of hightweight speed
• 5:17
  Speaker 1: buck they're they're a little bit tight, they don't have
• 5:19
Speaker 1: natural hands, and they're not full route tree guys. It's
• 5:21
Speaker 1: a different sport in the big twelve man and these
• 5:24
Speaker 1: guys struggle to get off press, they struggle to get
• 5:26
Speaker 1: out of breaks, and they struggle to catch the ball.
• 5:28
Speaker 2: I mean a lot of negatives right there.
• 5:29
Speaker 3: That are we talking about breaks, route running and all that.
• 5:34
Speaker 3: And you're right, because that that league is so wide open,
• 5:37
Speaker 3: it's really hard to evaluate the receivers. And then when
• 5:39
Speaker 3: you look at the NFL success or lack thereof, it's
• 5:42
Speaker 3: going to continue to make it hard to go all
• 5:44
  Speaker 3: in on.
• 5:44
Speaker 2: The big twelve receiver.
• 5:46
Speaker 3: The thing that I would say about looking at at
• 5:49
Speaker 3: this game and watching like the Packers and the Chargers
• 5:52
Speaker 3: and the receivers, like, man, there's so many playmakers for
• 5:56
Speaker 3: the Charges, Like you look at this team and all
• 5:58
Speaker 3: the things that you look at paper would tell you
• 6:01
Speaker 3: that this team should be a good team, and then
• 6:03
Speaker 3: you watch them put the ball in the hands of
• 6:05
Speaker 3: their playmakers, and for some reason, I don't know why,
• 6:08
Speaker 3: they just have this spell on them where bad things happen,
• 6:11
Speaker 3: fumbles in the red zone, the five yard line, I mean,
• 6:16
  Speaker 3: just just.
• 6:16
Speaker 2: Like little things where.
• 6:19
Speaker 3: Look, they're just snake bit And I just wonder because, like, look,
• 6:22
Speaker 3: I understand like the outside noise and Brandon Staley being
• 6:25
Speaker 3: uptight about all the conversation around his job, but this
• 6:30
Speaker 3: team just plays so tight because they've been in so
• 6:33
Speaker 3: many close games and it hasn't gone their way. I
• 6:36
Speaker 3: think they kind of have some of that what's going
• 6:38
Speaker 3: to happen next, like that lack of belief that they
• 6:40
Speaker 3: can figure out a way to get it done because
• 6:42
Speaker 3: some of the things that happen is just unexplainable.
• 6:45
Speaker 4: Yeah, and you know, just to kind of continue the
• 6:47
Speaker 4: conversation you were furthering the conversation you're having on the
• 6:51
Speaker 4: Big twelve. I mean, maybe maybe the Chargers need to
• 6:53
Speaker 4: go out to the Mountain West then find a Romeo Dobbs,
• 6:57
Speaker 4: or maybe down to FCS in front of Christian Watson,
• 6:59
Speaker 4: or maybe, you know, maybe even to the Big ten
• 7:02
Speaker 4: here and find it. Jayden Reid, who I thought, I
• 7:03
Speaker 4: thought that was kind of fun to watch those weren't
• 7:06
Speaker 4: you know, prolific performances from all three of them, but
• 7:09
Speaker 4: they all three contributed in a big way, and none
• 7:12
Speaker 4: of them more than two years deep in the league, right,
• 7:14
Speaker 4: Jayden Reid's the rookie. Dobbs and Watson rookies a year ago,
• 7:18
Speaker 4: and you know, Dobbs makes a huge play and then
• 7:20
Speaker 4: you like, and you know, as you talk about basketball
• 7:22
Speaker 4: teams with receiver groups, they're starting to get that way
• 7:25
Speaker 4: with the Packers here a little bit. Obviously got the
• 7:27
Speaker 4: big body in Christian Watson, you know, he can really
• 7:30
Speaker 4: kind of do it all, but Dobbs can be you
• 7:32
Speaker 4: know a little bit of that. You know that that
• 7:33
Speaker 4: guy you can rely on to get open, create a
• 7:35
Speaker 4: little bit of separation. And then you know, Jayden Reid
• 7:38
Speaker 4: is the exploser. You put the ball in his hands,
• 7:40
Speaker 4: you know, in the run game, and you've got a
• 7:42
Speaker 4: nice little core there. And then let's not forget about
• 7:44
Speaker 4: the tight ends that they drafted this this year, right,
• 7:46
Speaker 4: the two rookies you know, must Brave and Craft and
• 7:50
Speaker 4: Craft Right, Craft ends up having a nice catch in
• 7:52
  Speaker 4: this game. So there there's a there's a young group
• 7:55
Speaker 4: there led by let's call it, you know, he Jordan.
• 7:59
Speaker 4: You know, Jordan loves been the league for four years,
• 8:00
Speaker 4: but he's a young starting quarterback, and so they're going
• 8:03
Speaker 4: to have an opportunity to grow that group. You know,
• 8:05
Speaker 4: they got they got to get better up front, get
• 8:07
Speaker 4: the run game going. But I think that's at least
• 8:09
Speaker 4: a little bit of cause for encouragement. They're moving forward
• 8:12
  Speaker 4: with the pack.
• 8:13
Speaker 1: The one thing too, though, the offensive line, they have
• 8:15
Speaker 1: like the second lowest pressure rate in the league. So
• 8:17
Speaker 1: they've done a really nice job in pass protection as
• 8:19
Speaker 1: run wise. Run wise there, I think they're twenty first
• 8:22
Speaker 1: in the league and rushing, yeah, and they roll those
• 8:24
Speaker 1: guys through. They actually got two guys hurt in that game.
• 8:26
Speaker 1: They were down to one running back. As Aaron Jones
• 8:28
Speaker 1: was out, the third run back was out, it was
• 8:29
Speaker 1: just the big fellow was all that was left. So again,
• 8:33
Speaker 1: I think, you know, you can you can look at okay,
• 8:35
Speaker 1: maybe at a piece here there on the offensive line,
• 8:37
Speaker 1: I think they're okay there yea to me. To me,
• 8:41
Speaker 1: it's just having that veteran something Bucks talked about for
• 8:43
Speaker 1: years and years on here, like they have all young guys.
• 8:45
Speaker 1: That's a challenge for a young quarterback when everybody around
• 8:48
  Speaker 1: you is young.
• 8:49
Speaker 5: To me, could be there, you know, yeah.
• 8:51
Speaker 1: But I mean I'm just seeing from a pass catcher,
• 8:53
Speaker 1: like if you get some type of a veteran pass catcher,
• 8:56
Speaker 1: even if he's not a number one or even a
• 8:58
Speaker 1: number two, but just somebody that kind of put in
• 9:00
Speaker 1: that room with all these young guys and then somebody
• 9:03
  Speaker 1: down that's a perfect that's a perfect example of a
• 9:06
Speaker 1: type of guy that I think would be perfect for them.
• 9:09
Speaker 1: But man, Jordan Love, he threw his first three hundred
• 9:12
Speaker 1: yard game right three and twenty two yards two touchdowns.
• 9:15
Speaker 1: He had a game winning touchdown twenty four yard er
• 9:17
Speaker 1: where the Chargers did not get lined up and they
• 9:20
Speaker 1: quick snapped him and won the right off the snap.
• 9:23
Speaker 1: But guys, I mean, as great as that was his
• 9:25
Speaker 1: best game in terms of yardage, he could have thrown
• 9:27
Speaker 1: for four hundred and fifty yards. He missed musk Grave
• 9:29
Speaker 1: on it would have been an eighty yard touchdown. He
• 9:31
Speaker 1: overthrew him. There was other stuff that was out there
• 9:34
Speaker 1: available to him. It was easy a four hundred yard
• 9:36
Speaker 1: day for him if he if he hits on a
• 9:38
Speaker 1: couple more balls. But talking to some of the guys
• 9:41
Speaker 1: in the personnel department before the game with Green Bay,
• 9:44
Speaker 1: they all they are very excited about Jordan Love. I mean,
• 9:46
Speaker 1: it was no there was no hemming and hauling, there
• 9:49
Speaker 1: was no hesitation. They love the fact that they get
• 9:52
Speaker 1: the same guy every day. He brings a great attitude
• 9:55
Speaker 1: every day. Everybody in the building loves being around him,
• 9:57
Speaker 1: you know, treats everybody great. And that's not taking a
• 10:01
Speaker 1: shot at Aaron Rodgers. I never even brought up Aaron
• 10:03
Speaker 1: Rodgers name. I was just asking him about Love and
• 10:05
Speaker 1: they were effusive and it was not you know, sometimes
• 10:07
Speaker 1: with a young quarterback, he's thrown some picks, he's had
• 10:09
Speaker 1: some turnovers. Yeah, you know it is buck. You know,
• 10:12
Speaker 1: when you talk to your buddies and they're like, yeah,
• 10:15
  Speaker 1: I think, I think, I know we've got a chance.
• 10:18
Speaker 1: We were hoping like that wasn't what I was getting.
• 10:21
Speaker 1: They were like, yeah, no, we're good. We're good to go.
• 10:23
Speaker 5: They're in on it.
• 10:24
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And I think they also are in on
• 10:26
Speaker 3: the process, like they've done this a few different times.
• 10:28
Speaker 3: The one thing about Green Bay you have the continuity
• 10:31
Speaker 3: of a lot of the personnel. Guys have been there
• 10:33
Speaker 3: through the generation you're talking about Ron Wolf to Ted Tomson,
• 10:36
Speaker 3: now de Goody, like they've been there. They've seen this
• 10:38
Speaker 3: process work when it comes to the slow cooking at
• 10:41
  Speaker 3: the quarterback position.
• 10:42
Speaker 2: And so Jordan Love you talk about in his fourth year.
• 10:45
Speaker 3: They've seen him develop on the practice field right in
• 10:48
Speaker 3: front of their eyes, and so there's some confidence that
• 10:50
Speaker 3: he'll continue to take those strides. I would say they
• 10:53
Speaker 3: still have to be better in the running back room,
• 10:57
Speaker 3: Like Aaron Jones has not been really affective for them
• 10:59
Speaker 3: this year because of injuries. At some point they got
• 11:01
Speaker 3: to beef that part up. And I still think they
• 11:03
Speaker 3: need more production from the defense. The defense that has
• 11:06
Speaker 3: seven or eight first rounders playing in the rotation, that
• 11:10
Speaker 3: defense has to be better than good. That defense needs
• 11:13
Speaker 3: to be dominant if you're going to commit that many
• 11:15
Speaker 3: resources to the side of the ball.
• 11:18
Speaker 1: Yeah, they started two to seventh rounders at the secondary
• 11:22
Speaker 1: in this game, so they're a little bit beat up
• 11:23
Speaker 1: on the back end. I do think kay Walker's turned
• 11:25
Speaker 1: into a nice player. He is explosive, he's got range,
• 11:28
Speaker 1: plays physical. I like his game a lot, So they
• 11:31
Speaker 1: need to get healthy there. I don't think this is
• 11:32
Speaker 1: a team that's going to go far this year in
• 11:35
Speaker 1: Green Bay, but I think the future is very bright.
• 11:37
Speaker 1: I think they have a great foundation going forward. All right,
• 11:40
Speaker 1: buck the game, you're out. Jags a big win over
• 11:42
  Speaker 1: the Titans.
• 11:44
Speaker 2: Let me first say never.
• 11:48
Speaker 3: Don't underestimate like the power of what the outside noise
• 11:51
Speaker 3: can do to a player. I will tell you that
• 11:54
Speaker 3: Number sixteen, Trevor Lawrence was a little edgy throughout the
• 11:57
Speaker 3: game yesterday. Think he certainly has heard the conversation began
• 12:02
Speaker 3: to hover around him and where he stands in the
• 12:06
Speaker 3: division with CJ. Stroud, And they'll take care of that
• 12:08
Speaker 3: next weekend. Because he was as determined as I've seen
• 12:13
Speaker 3: him in a long time. And I will say this,
• 12:14
Speaker 3: I don't think he played great. I think he played
• 12:15
Speaker 3: good but I don't think it was a great performance,
• 12:18
Speaker 3: but he definitely was kind of on his game and
• 12:21
Speaker 3: kind of making sure that he got to stench out
• 12:24
Speaker 3: that bad performance against the San Francisco forty nine ers.
• 12:27
Speaker 3: Did a really good job getting into the playmakers. You
• 12:29
Speaker 3: saw a more concerted effort to feature the top players.
• 12:33
Speaker 3: Calvin Ridley going over one hundred yards at two sutdowns.
• 12:36
Speaker 3: Yeah obviously about the fantasy. Yeah, sorry, it's a marathon,
• 12:43
Speaker 3: not a sprint. So Kevin really showed up. Christen Kirk
• 12:46
Speaker 3: had a couple opportunities offensively. It was the best that
• 12:50
Speaker 3: the team has looked and I can tell you there's
• 12:51
Speaker 3: a lot more potential for that to get better.
• 12:53
  Speaker 1: Uh.
• 12:54
Speaker 3: But Trevor Lawrence had a very very solid, workman like performance.
• 12:57
Speaker 3: They helped him by putting him in some of those
• 12:59
Speaker 3: things that he's very comfortable. Then they ran them. They
• 13:01
Speaker 3: put them on the move on boot legs. You saw
• 13:04
Speaker 3: some of the screens and those things. But it was
• 13:06
Speaker 3: a very comfortable game plan for him, and I think
• 13:09
Speaker 3: they'll try and get away with that as long as
• 13:10
Speaker 3: they can until somebody's able to stop what I call
• 13:13
  Speaker 3: those pet plays.
• 13:14
Speaker 2: That they like to use for the number one quarterback.
• 13:18
Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I would say that in addition to,
• 13:21
Speaker 4: you know, seeing Calvin Ridley get rolling, you know, which
• 13:24
Speaker 4: was great, and then you did it wasn't just him, right,
• 13:26
Speaker 4: you had Christian Kirk going too, So using the multitude
• 13:29
Speaker 4: of talents that you do have and that you acquired
• 13:32
Speaker 4: and brought in was great to see. I'm just I'm
• 13:34
Speaker 4: looking at this thing on the Texan side of the
• 13:36
Speaker 4: Titan side rather Mike boy.
• 13:38
Speaker 5: We had caught lightning in a bottle right.
• 13:40
Speaker 4: With Will Levis in that first game and those four
• 13:42
Speaker 4: explosive touchdowns, and it just it hasn't looked right since.
• 13:46
Speaker 4: And I guess that's kind of to be expected, you know,
• 13:48
Speaker 4: with a quarterback, rookie quarterback who assumes the starting role
• 13:50
Speaker 4: in the middle of the season, you know, you start
• 13:53
Speaker 4: to get a little bit more of that tape and
• 13:55
Speaker 4: defenses understand a little bit more of what you're all about.
• 13:57
Speaker 4: But I just keep coming back to, like the Titans
• 13:59
Speaker 4: just don't have enough answers offensively, and like this is
• 14:02
Speaker 4: a team that feels like they need a bit of
• 14:04
Speaker 4: an overhaul here as they go into next season to
• 14:08
Speaker 4: try to figure out what they want to do. I
• 14:09
Speaker 4: mean Derrick Henry what thirty thirty something yards in this
• 14:13
Speaker 4: game on the ground. I mean they were trying to
• 14:15
Speaker 4: direct snap it to him a couple of times. Did
• 14:16
Speaker 4: their touchdowns come late?
• 14:18
  Speaker 2: I didn't.
• 14:18
Speaker 1: It was a trick play.
• 14:19
Speaker 5: It was a double reverse.
• 14:21
Speaker 3: Yeah, came real late in the game. It was a
• 14:25
Speaker 3: shoutout in the fourth quarter. And then they got a
• 14:27
Speaker 3: couple of plays and hit on some things. And because
• 14:29
Speaker 3: I'm looking at this is what's.
• 14:30
Speaker 1: So funny, because I again I didn't see this game.
• 14:32
Speaker 1: So levis thirteen for seventeen, a buck fifty eight, two touchdowns.
• 14:38
Speaker 1: I must look at twenty three yards in the first
• 14:42
Speaker 1: half twenty three Yeah.
• 14:43
Speaker 3: The trick play had they count for about fifty of
• 14:45
Speaker 3: those yards when they they basically ran a wildcat play
• 14:49
Speaker 3: that I just remember the Jets running back in the
• 14:51
Speaker 3: day with Chad or the Jets, so the Dolphins running
• 14:53
Speaker 3: with Chad Pennington where they threw it down the field.
• 14:57
Speaker 3: Here's what I'll say about the Titans, Like watching it,
• 15:00
Speaker 3: you're now at the point where you have to make
• 15:01
Speaker 3: a decision are we rebuilding or not? Because like they're
• 15:06
Speaker 3: at the point you can't middle to it. Yeah, like
• 15:08
Speaker 3: you have to either do it. And I will say
• 15:10
Speaker 3: this about Will Levis. That first game was great against
• 15:13
Speaker 3: the Atlanta Falcons, but now you're seeing some of the
• 15:17
Speaker 3: worst that were on this game when we talked about
• 15:18
Speaker 3: him through the process, had problems taking the snap, shotgun
• 15:22
Speaker 3: and under center. The Jaguars did a really good job
• 15:25
Speaker 3: of changing the picture pre snap and post snap. You
• 15:28
Speaker 3: had a tough time figuring out where to go with
• 15:30
Speaker 3: the ball, and without the support of a dominant running game,
• 15:35
Speaker 3: it was really really hard on him. And I think
• 15:37
Speaker 3: we will talk about to celebrate Derrick Henry as one
• 15:39
Speaker 3: of the best running backs of this eraror. But look, man,
• 15:44
Speaker 3: it's time and so they need to kind of reboot
• 15:47
Speaker 3: the situation. They need a younger, faster, more dynamic team
• 15:50
Speaker 3: and it might take them a year or two to
• 15:52
  Speaker 3: be able to.
• 15:52
  Speaker 2: Put that together.
• 15:54
Speaker 3: Whether it's Will Levis or whoever that quarterback is going
• 15:56
Speaker 3: to be. They need kind of complete overall to be
• 15:58
Speaker 3: able to get this team up and going.
• 16:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt. Interesting times there in Tennessee. This game
• 16:04
Speaker 1: maybe it's a game of the day, right your first
• 16:06
Speaker 1: one here Lions and the Bears.
• 16:08
Speaker 4: Man, that was interesting because the Bears went down scored
• 16:12
Speaker 4: on their opening possession.
• 16:13
Speaker 5: You're like, okay, justin.
• 16:14
Speaker 4: Fields, you know, back to doing what he does. Was
• 16:16
Speaker 4: scrambling around a little bit, was getting yards on the
• 16:18
Speaker 4: ground and made a couple of big throws. He got
• 16:20
Speaker 4: DJ Moore back involved, which I thought was a big
• 16:22
Speaker 4: thing for Chicago. But ultimately, like this game comes down
• 16:26
Speaker 4: to pressure situations, and you know, I look back at
• 16:30
Speaker 4: the Lions and obviously you know, we're all involved, you know,
• 16:32
Speaker 4: heavily involved on the college football level, where it does
• 16:36
Speaker 4: feel like you have more of the more of those
• 16:38
Speaker 4: mantras that you know, coaches try to use, right, more
• 16:41
Speaker 4: of the culture building, foundational type of cult type of
• 16:45
Speaker 4: philosophies that you talk about and they're very vocal with
• 16:48
Speaker 4: because it's important to rally a team that big and
• 16:51
Speaker 4: each and every week.
• 16:52
  Speaker 5: And it feels.
• 16:54
Speaker 4: Like there's a little bit of that in Detroit and
• 16:56
Speaker 4: that grit because you know, you're down twenty six to
• 16:59
Speaker 4: four team, You're down two scores to a team you
• 17:02
Speaker 4: should have no should that should have no business being
• 17:04
Speaker 4: in that game with you, based on talent and the
• 17:07
Speaker 4: way that both teams have played, and they just keep fighting. Man,
• 17:10
Speaker 4: those final four minutes That's what I went back and
• 17:12
Speaker 4: looked at. The Lions ran seventeen plays in the final
• 17:16
Speaker 4: four minutes, the Bears ran, the Bears ran four and
• 17:21
Speaker 4: in those seventeen plays, the Lions faced just two third downs.
• 17:25
Speaker 4: So Jared Goff had did not have a good game
• 17:27
Speaker 4: through three interceptions in this thing, and it was rough
• 17:30
Speaker 4: all day long. But again, stay the course, stay the course,
• 17:32
Speaker 4: Stay the course, stay the course. And then how about this,
• 17:35
Speaker 4: And this is what I love and this is why
• 17:36
Speaker 4: I love, you know, being on this podcast because we
• 17:38
Speaker 4: get a chance to do this and kind of go
• 17:40
Speaker 4: back to how some of these teams were built. How
• 17:42
Speaker 4: about the Lions draft picks contributing in those final four minutes.
• 17:45
Speaker 4: Sam Laporte has three catches, one of them goes for
• 17:47
Speaker 4: a first down. A Monor Saint Brown two catches, one
• 17:49
Speaker 4: of them goes for a first down. Jamison Williams catches
• 17:53
Speaker 4: the explosive play touchdown that gets them back within striking distance.
• 17:56
Speaker 4: Then the defense comes out onto the field. Jack Campbell
• 17:59
Speaker 4: big run stuff on first down, Alee McNeil stones, Tevin
• 18:03
Speaker 4: Jenkins big run stuff on second down.
• 18:05
Speaker 5: They go incomplete on third.
• 18:06
Speaker 4: They took fifteen seconds off the clock, gave the ball
• 18:09
Speaker 4: back to the Lions, who then you know, continue to
• 18:12
Speaker 4: Jamior Gibbs a couple of catches on that final drive
• 18:15
Speaker 4: and then David Montgomery punches it in, hits Sam Laport
• 18:18
Speaker 4: on the two pointer, and then who closes it out
• 18:21
Speaker 4: at the end, but Aiden Hutchinson with a strip sack
• 18:24
Speaker 4: for a safety. Those are homegrown dudes, and with the
• 18:26
Speaker 4: exceptional Montgomery. Cam Sutton made a play too. But they
• 18:29
Speaker 4: are getting major contributions from players that they have spent
• 18:32
Speaker 4: major resources in the draft selecting, and I just kind
• 18:36
Speaker 4: of love seeing all that come together now.
• 18:39
Speaker 3: Man, look so and watching this game, like from the
• 18:42
Speaker 3: Lions standpoint, I do think is great.
• 18:44
Speaker 2: The resilience to the show.
• 18:45
Speaker 3: And they talk about the grit and those things, and
• 18:47
Speaker 3: we've talked about on this podcast a couple times about
• 18:50
Speaker 3: the team taking on the character of the coaches.
• 18:53
Speaker 2: So this is a tough team.
• 18:54
Speaker 3: And I think Jerry golf and Body Day, you have
• 18:56
Speaker 3: three interceptions and you bounced back and you're able to
• 18:58
Speaker 3: kind of do what he was able to do to
• 19:00
Speaker 3: get them back seventeen points.
• 19:02
Speaker 2: In the fourth quarter, he makes the.
• 19:05
Speaker 3: Dime throw to Jamison Williams to kind of put them
• 19:08
Speaker 3: over the top. And just the way that he has
• 19:11
Speaker 3: been able to kind of like steady this offense whenever
• 19:14
  Speaker 3: they needed it.
• 19:15
Speaker 2: You gotta love that.
• 19:16
Speaker 3: From the Bear standpoint, I think it's interesting to see
• 19:18
Speaker 3: how they go about this process when it comes to
• 19:20
Speaker 3: evaluating Justin Fields had over one hundred yards rushing, had
• 19:24
Speaker 3: a pretty solid day through the air. But man, once
• 19:27
Speaker 3: again at the end of the game, he had a fumble.
• 19:29
Speaker 3: If you think about what he has done since he's
• 19:31
Speaker 3: been the starting quarterback for the Bears, I want to say, yes,
• 19:33
Speaker 3: thirty one or thirty two fumbles. He just has a
• 19:36
Speaker 3: tough time with ball security. Not all his fault, but
• 19:38
Speaker 3: the quarterback has the ball, he has to take care
• 19:40
Speaker 3: of it. I just wonder what is going to be
• 19:43
Speaker 3: the decision that they make at the end of the year.
• 19:47
Speaker 3: He's been good enough to keep him around, but he's
• 19:50
Speaker 3: good enough to pay him the significant amount of money
• 19:53
Speaker 3: that he's going to be old if he's a starting
• 19:55
Speaker 3: quarterback for a team. I just wanted do you reset
• 19:58
Speaker 3: the clock with a draft pick or stayed? Of course,
• 20:01
Speaker 3: tough decision for the Bears, but just one that they
• 20:03
Speaker 3: gonna have to make coming up short Where is he from? Buck,
• 20:07
Speaker 3: that's from Atlanta. Yeah, he's right right outside of Atlanta. Interesting,
• 20:11
  Speaker 3: all right.
• 20:11
Speaker 1: We're gonna we're gonna take a break, we come back.
• 20:13
Speaker 1: We'll get into the Bucks and the Niners right after this.
• 20:22
Speaker 1: All right. It was just a little cliffhanger there at
• 20:24
Speaker 1: the end of the that's all I'm just saying. Okay,
• 20:27
  Speaker 1: it's from Atlanta. I don't know. Maybe they're in the
• 20:29
Speaker 1: quarterback market. Who knows. All Right, I'm up next here. Niners,
• 20:33
Speaker 1: Bucks twenty seven fourteen forty nine ers are rolling right now.
• 20:36
Speaker 1: They're back into a groove after a little bit of
• 20:38
Speaker 1: a stumble there in the middle part of the season.
• 20:40
Speaker 1: They're back rock parties playing really well. And the first
• 20:43
Speaker 1: thing I wanted to look at, you know, and I
• 20:45
Speaker 1: pulled out the box score. The thing that jumped out
• 20:46
Speaker 1: to me was Iyuke with five for a buck fifty six.
• 20:49
Speaker 1: So I want to jump into his tape this morning
• 20:52
Speaker 1: and see what that looks like. And man, I always
• 20:55
Speaker 1: would say off the line releases, it was Davante Adams,
• 21:00
Speaker 1: Keenan Allen, Stefon Diggs, or the three guys you study
• 21:03
Speaker 1: like if you talk to young receivers, those the guys.
• 21:05
Speaker 1: You look at Brandon Ayukxen, he's he's in the mix
• 21:08
Speaker 1: now with what he does, and they they look they
• 21:10
Speaker 1: motioned him on one of them, and man, it's like
• 21:12
Speaker 1: he's shot out of a cannon. Once. They're using that motion,
• 21:15
Speaker 1: then turning it up the field and then running. They're
• 21:17
Speaker 1: running a lot of digs out of that. So it's
• 21:19
Speaker 1: like the Tyreek Hill play, except they're doing it instead
• 21:21
Speaker 1: of instead of just that short outside motion, they're just
• 21:24
Speaker 1: still doing the motion across the field. But then he
• 21:26
Speaker 1: hits that gas and then you press and you get
• 21:29
Speaker 1: on top of their toes and you snap it off.
• 21:31
Speaker 1: But anyways, that was impressive. But the other ones were
• 21:33
Speaker 1: just his releases off the line of scrimmage or big time.
• 21:36
Speaker 1: He's explosive out of the break point. He's after the catch,
• 21:40
Speaker 1: he gets he has juice after the catch, he has
• 21:43
Speaker 1: another gear when the ball's up in the air. He's
• 21:45
  Speaker 1: a he's a really good player. I think to me,
• 21:47
Speaker 1: he's and no disrespect to any of the other guys
• 21:50
Speaker 1: they've got. They've got a lot of playmakers on that team.
• 21:53
Speaker 1: To me, if we go out into the backyard and
• 21:55
Speaker 1: the park and say I've got to have a completion
• 21:57
Speaker 1: and a playmate. He'd be the one that I would
• 21:59
Speaker 1: take on all those guys.
• 22:02
Speaker 3: Yeah, it's funny because what we're saying, and I think
• 22:06
Speaker 3: we've used the analogy when it comes to bass to
• 22:10
Speaker 3: quarterbacks like shooter and score.
• 22:12
Speaker 2: So the difference is he's a shooter.
• 22:14
Speaker 3: To me, he's a more refined receiver than Deebo Samuel
• 22:17
Speaker 3: in terms of route running ability overall skill level. He
• 22:20
Speaker 3: is that Deebo Samuel is someone you want to put
• 22:22
Speaker 3: the ball in his hands and let him go to
• 22:23
Speaker 3: work because the best thing that he does is make
• 22:25
Speaker 3: the magic happen in open field.
• 22:28
Speaker 2: Yuck is a route runner and what the Niners do, and.
• 22:31
Speaker 3: You know, we're talking about brock perty having a three
• 22:33
Speaker 3: hunder yard game having a perfect passer rating. I don't
• 22:36
Speaker 3: know if I've seen a team throw the ball over
• 22:37
Speaker 3: the middle more than in terms of hey, we're throwing
• 22:44
Speaker 3: everything inside the numbers in breaking routes on the move,
• 22:48
Speaker 3: I don't know if anyone does it better than them.
• 22:50
Speaker 3: And I know it's a combination of play acts because
• 22:52
Speaker 3: they move the linebackers up and they create these huge voids,
• 22:55
Speaker 3: but man, they get more ballas out of these inbreaking
• 22:58
Speaker 3: deep overs, crossers, digs then any of the team that
• 23:02
Speaker 3: I've seen, and as Brock Purdy is silencing the naysayers
• 23:07
Speaker 3: and bouncing back in a major way. This team is
• 23:11
Speaker 3: so good offensively that it often overshadows what they do
• 23:16
Speaker 3: on defense. But man, this team is prime and ready.
• 23:19
Speaker 3: And we talked about Philadelphia having a major game on
• 23:22
Speaker 3: Monday night against the Kansa City Chiefs, but that that
• 23:26
Speaker 3: train is coming, the San Francisco forty nine or train
• 23:29
Speaker 3: is coming, and it's gonna be exciting to see them
• 23:31
Speaker 3: kind of square it off.
• 23:32
  Speaker 2: You know.
• 23:33
Speaker 4: I would just take a brief look at the four
• 23:34
Speaker 4: at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. You know, started the season
• 23:37
Speaker 4: three and one, and they were kind of one of
• 23:38
Speaker 4: those teams you're like, huh, all right, maybe a little
• 23:40
Speaker 4: better than we thought, you know, Baker Mayfield maybe settling
• 23:43
Speaker 4: them down, but now you know, unfortunately they've lost five
• 23:45
Speaker 4: of six. I will say there are some bright spots here.
• 23:49
  Speaker 1: You know.
• 23:50
Speaker 4: Klaijahkansei, I don't even know if he played in this game,
• 23:52
Speaker 4: but he didn't end up on on the stat sheet.
• 23:54
Speaker 1: At all, but four sacks.
• 23:57
Speaker 5: Yeah, he has had some real.
• 23:58
Speaker 4: Flashes, certainly as he came back off the injury that
• 24:01
Speaker 4: he started the season with. How about yah Yad Diabi
• 24:04
Speaker 4: two sacks in this game from from Louisville?
• 24:07
  Speaker 5: Where did?
• 24:07
Speaker 2: Where? Do you have?
• 24:08
Speaker 4: A terrific week leading into the end of the draft
• 24:10
Speaker 4: process Senior Bowl right at A at a pretty good
• 24:14
Speaker 4: week right there. And then obviously they've got, you know,
• 24:16
Speaker 4: guys like Antoine Winfield will be foundational pieces for him
• 24:19
Speaker 4: moving forward. But again, it was just kind of fun
• 24:22
Speaker 4: to go back and look and watch it. You know,
• 24:24
Speaker 4: a young player like that that can make some plays
• 24:27
Speaker 4: for you and you can point to that moving forward.
• 24:28
Speaker 4: Be like, all right, obviously we got Vidavea, who's just
• 24:31
Speaker 4: an absolute, you know, stud and force of nature, you
• 24:34
Speaker 4: know in the middle, and there's some real I mean,
• 24:36
Speaker 4: there's real playmakers on that defense. They just they got
• 24:38
Speaker 4: to figure out what they want to be offensively, and
• 24:41
Speaker 4: they're getting older there at some of those positions that
• 24:44
Speaker 4: you've been counting on. The Mike Evans situation with the
• 24:47
Speaker 4: contract sounds like this is you know it, what's up
• 24:49
Speaker 4: with Chris Godwin buck So like I I and then
• 24:53
Speaker 4: look at that DJ. I just I think that they
• 24:55
Speaker 4: have put in some some nice effort defensively to build
• 24:58
  Speaker 4: that roster. I just I don't know what it's getting
• 25:00
  Speaker 4: him right now.
• 25:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, one thing, I'll pull up my notes here on
• 25:04
Speaker 1: Dyabi ya ya Dabi was six ozho three three two
• 25:07
Speaker 1: sixty three. He ran four or five to one. Played
• 25:10
Speaker 1: a lot of three man front. You see some push
• 25:12
Speaker 1: and pull stuff with him. He's got quick change of direction, flashes,
• 25:15
Speaker 1: a shaking bowl. He'll get washed and toss some at
• 25:18
Speaker 1: the in the run the point of attack. He's a tweener,
• 25:21
Speaker 1: but he's got thirty four inch arms and he ran
• 25:23
Speaker 1: four five to one. So Buck, we always talk about
• 25:27
Speaker 1: pass rushers traits. Man, that's it, right, you hit it,
• 25:30
  Speaker 1: it's the traits.
• 25:30
  Speaker 5: Yeah.
• 25:32
Speaker 2: So did you want to go back to the Niners
• 25:33
  Speaker 2: right quick?
• 25:34
  Speaker 1: Right?
• 25:34
Speaker 3: So, in two games, we've seen Chase Young have what
• 25:38
Speaker 3: a sac and a half two sacks. We've seen him
• 25:41
Speaker 3: be as active as we've seen since his rookie year
• 25:43
Speaker 3: when he was defensive Rookie of the Year. I'm now
• 25:45
Speaker 3: wondering if you're the San Francisco forty nine ers, and
• 25:47
Speaker 3: I know, man, you'd like to allocate cash and resources
• 25:50
Speaker 3: to that front line, But do you do anything that
• 25:53
Speaker 3: you can to keep him in the fold because he
• 25:55
Speaker 3: certainly made a difference.
• 25:56
  Speaker 2: On the quarterback.
• 25:57
Speaker 3: You got money, I mean, I mean, do you do
• 25:59
Speaker 3: you go all so you now have Nick Bosa, Javon Hargrave,
• 26:02
Speaker 3: you have Eric Armstead and Chase Young and you just
• 26:05
Speaker 3: live with whatever you have to get.
• 26:06
  Speaker 5: That's when they've been the best. That's when they've been
• 26:09
  Speaker 5: at their best.
• 26:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, for the next time. Ye after that you have
• 26:13
Speaker 1: to figure out some stuff. But yeah, I think for
• 26:15
Speaker 1: the next two years they can roster that they can
• 26:17
Speaker 1: roster that money because I'm just looking.
• 26:19
Speaker 3: At him and just looking at the difference that he's
• 26:21
Speaker 3: made and just the energy, the effort that he's just playing,
• 26:24
Speaker 3: the skill level, like we talk about the D line
• 26:26
Speaker 3: coach Chris Caseric and that stuff.
• 26:28
  Speaker 2: The environment.
• 26:29
Speaker 3: To me, it just makes too much sense for them.
• 26:31
Speaker 3: They talk about building strength on strength on that front line.
• 26:34
Speaker 3: Why not find a way to keep him. I know
• 26:36
Speaker 3: it's a short term runner, but why not find a
• 26:38
Speaker 3: way to keep him their long term?
• 26:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you. I'm with you on that one
• 26:43
Speaker 1: big win for the Niners. Let's keep it moving here, Bucket,
• 26:46
Speaker 1: you are up next, and you've got Steelers Brown really
• 26:49
Speaker 1: really high scoring. Fun game there, huh.
• 26:51
  Speaker 2: Yeah, fun game.
• 26:52
Speaker 3: I mean, look, you knew when it was the Steelers,
• 26:53
Speaker 3: the the score is going to be always bet the under,
• 26:56
Speaker 3: and so like thirteen ten, the Browns find a way
• 26:59
Speaker 3: to do it. But I never would have imagined that
• 27:03
Speaker 3: the Cleveland Browns, after all the injuries, would be sitting
• 27:06
Speaker 3: there in the spot like where it could be first place.
• 27:08
Speaker 2: You know, we could talk about DTR.
• 27:10
Speaker 3: He had a bad performance the first time he had
• 27:12
Speaker 3: an opportunity to start, but then he's able to leave
• 27:15
Speaker 3: a game winning winning drive to get them over the top.
• 27:17
Speaker 3: And when you look at this team and this defense,
• 27:20
Speaker 3: I mean this defense that they're trying out, I mean
• 27:22
Speaker 3: you talk about Miles Garrett and crew, like he's defensive
• 27:25
Speaker 3: played a year, two sacks, three quarterback, four pressures, all
• 27:28
Speaker 3: that other stuff. Like the defense continues to do whatever
• 27:31
Speaker 3: they want to do, just dominant when it comes to
• 27:35
Speaker 3: their effort, but just getting enough offense to be able
• 27:39
Speaker 3: to get over the top.
• 27:40
Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, can this team really win a division? Like?
• 27:44
Speaker 3: I mean, is this a team that really can win
• 27:45
Speaker 3: a division with a rookie quarterback that.
• 27:48
Speaker 2: When has to do DTR?
• 27:51
Speaker 1: I mean anywhere they're not falling off. Man, it's impressive.
• 27:56
Speaker 1: And then Brett on the Steeler side of things, I
• 27:59
Speaker 1: want to get to you on that one. Just I
• 28:00
Speaker 1: know you're starting to see Deontay Johnson. I saw a
• 28:03
Speaker 1: tweet there where he's, you know, some fan had called
• 28:05
Speaker 1: him out saying he ran a wrong route and he's like, Hey,
• 28:07
Speaker 1: that ain't that's not accurate. Bah blah blah blah blah.
• 28:10
Speaker 1: And then the Kenny Pickett noise is getting louder and
• 28:12
Speaker 1: louder and louder, and Matt Canada has been catching his grief,
• 28:16
Speaker 1: but points is no bueno.
• 28:19
Speaker 4: Well, I mean the best player on their team right
• 28:21
Speaker 4: now offensively is Jalen Warren. I mean you got a
• 28:26
Speaker 4: seventy four yard rushing touchdown on the second play of
• 28:29
Speaker 4: the second half, which was more yards gained than the
• 28:33
Speaker 4: entirety of the Steelers offense in the first half. Yeah,
• 28:36
Speaker 4: I mean, like what what. I don't want to sound
• 28:39
Speaker 4: like we're picking on Najie Harris here because I don't
• 28:40
Speaker 4: think it's it's necessarily all his fault, but you'll get
• 28:43
Speaker 4: nine carries on hundred twenty nine yards.
• 28:44
Speaker 1: He have a huge runway hit twelve for thirty five
• 28:48
  Speaker 1: for Harris.
• 28:49
Speaker 5: Yeah, it's just one of those things is not like
• 28:52
  Speaker 5: the other.
• 28:52
Speaker 1: You know, one deserves more.
• 28:55
Speaker 4: Yeah, and they just don't have in Jalen Warren's the
• 28:57
Speaker 4: only guy with juice right now. And it's a shame
• 29:00
Speaker 4: because there are talents there. I mean, we've seen what
• 29:02
Speaker 4: Deontay Johnson can do, right, we see what George Pickens
• 29:04
Speaker 4: is capable of goodness.
• 29:06
Speaker 5: But you know, you just need more.
• 29:08
Speaker 4: You need more than just a splash play here and there,
• 29:10
Speaker 4: and they gotta find they gotta find more Jews, more consistent.
• 29:13
Speaker 1: Buck, would you agree with this statement that your talent,
• 29:17
Speaker 1: like you're if we look at receiving corps, your receiving
• 29:19
Speaker 1: corps has to match both your quarterback and your coordinator.
• 29:23
Speaker 1: That all has to be in alignment because there's different
• 29:25
Speaker 1: ways to play games. There's different ways to win games.
• 29:28
Speaker 1: You know, like what works with certain quarterbacks might not
• 29:31
Speaker 1: work with that coordinator or you know one of the
• 29:33
Speaker 1: you all have to be in alignment. Here, build your
• 29:35
Speaker 1: team that fits both your your coordinator and your quarterback.
• 29:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, you absolutely have to to do that. And here's
• 29:42
Speaker 3: the thing, and here's the thing. They would frustrate me
• 29:44
Speaker 3: if I'm a Stills fan when it comes to Deontay Johnson, Right,
• 29:47
Speaker 3: so have you washed him up close?
• 29:48
Speaker 2: Like he's great where I running, he has tremendous skills.
• 29:50
Speaker 3: Or whatever, but he drops a lot of fastest and
• 29:54
Speaker 3: so like he demands the ball, he wants the ball,
• 29:57
Speaker 3: he wants to be featured. But man, there's too many
• 29:58
Speaker 3: times where they put the ball in his hands and
• 30:01
Speaker 3: he can't catch it. And so I can understand his frustration,
• 30:04
Speaker 3: but also understand the frustration of the coaches because he
• 30:07
Speaker 3: has paid like a high end playmaker, but I don't
• 30:10
Speaker 3: know if he's necessarily worthy of being considered a high
• 30:14
  Speaker 3: end playmaker.
• 30:15
  Speaker 2: There's just a rub.
• 30:16
Speaker 3: And you heard Naja Harris after game talk about like
• 30:19
Speaker 3: guys playing like not putting the team first. I feel
• 30:23
Speaker 3: like there's a lot of stuff swirling around that locker room,
• 30:25
Speaker 3: and I'm not surprised because when the offense doesn't perform
• 30:27
Speaker 3: like that, there's a lot of finger pointing that can
• 30:30
Speaker 3: go from offense to defense and from offensive players to
• 30:33
Speaker 3: other offensive players, trying to blame those who they perceive
• 30:36
Speaker 3: to not be carrying their weight.
• 30:38
Speaker 1: Yeah, no doubt. RTT keep us going here, What do you.
• 30:41
Speaker 4: Got next Cardinals sections and this is an interesting one.
• 30:45
Speaker 4: And I don't know that anybody would have circled this
• 30:47
Speaker 4: game on the calendar before the season started. But man,
• 30:50
Speaker 4: with Kyler Murray back and based on what he did
• 30:53
Speaker 4: last year, last week in his debut, I'm like, all right,
• 30:55
Speaker 4: this is gonna be a heck of a game.
• 30:56
  Speaker 2: And it was.
• 30:57
Speaker 5: I mean it was bombs away early, Kyler Murray found
• 30:59
Speaker 5: Rondell More or you know, the shot shot shots, the
• 31:01
Speaker 5: whole thing it was.
• 31:03
Speaker 1: It was they had it going right.
• 31:07
Speaker 4: But you know, we used to do a show I
• 31:09
Speaker 4: used to do a show with Brian Billick and Sean
• 31:10
Speaker 4: O'Hara called the Playbook for NFL Network, and one of
• 31:13
Speaker 4: their big mantras was third down in red zone is
• 31:17
Speaker 4: what win games? Right, And he's talking about all the time. Uh,
• 31:20
Speaker 4: and that was such a case in this game. Here
• 31:23
Speaker 4: just quickly to set it up on CJ. Stroud obviously
• 31:26
Speaker 4: not his best game, through more interceptions in this game
• 31:28
Speaker 4: than he had the entire season leading into it.
• 31:31
Speaker 5: The third one was the worst. You know, they're trying
• 31:34
Speaker 5: to put the ball away.
• 31:34
Speaker 4: Final five minutes of the cut the game away, final
• 31:36
Speaker 4: five minutes bad mechanics kind of falling away with.
• 31:40
Speaker 5: Some interior pressure and throws inside on an out route.
• 31:42
Speaker 5: Can't have it right.
• 31:43
Speaker 4: But then the other two interceptions come in the red zone.
• 31:46
Speaker 4: They were down in the red zone five times and
• 31:49
Speaker 4: came away with just two touchdowns. They should have blown
• 31:51
Speaker 4: the Cardinals out in that game. He had, you know,
• 31:54
Speaker 4: obviously a couple of decisions that he went back. One
• 31:56
Speaker 4: of them I think bounced off Robert Woods's hands. The
• 31:59
Speaker 4: Cardinals got into the red zone once in that game,
• 32:02
Speaker 4: so five times to one.
• 32:04
Speaker 5: And then let's talk about third down. Here.
• 32:06
  Speaker 1: CJ.
• 32:07
Speaker 4: Stroud on third down in this game ten for eleven,
• 32:10
Speaker 4: one hundred and twenty six yards in a touchdown. You
• 32:13
Speaker 4: know what he is now on the season adjusted completion
• 32:17
Speaker 4: rate on third downs to account for drops, eighty percent
• 32:21
Speaker 4: on third downs. Yeah, they converted seventy percent of their
• 32:24
Speaker 4: third downs in this game. The Cardinals converted thirty percent.
• 32:28
Speaker 4: Like you just look at those two facets and you
• 32:30
Speaker 4: understand how the game ended up. Now, Look, they needed
• 32:32
Speaker 4: the defense to stand up in the second half. Texans
• 32:35
Speaker 4: didn't score a point in the second half. Defense made
• 32:37
Speaker 4: it stand up behind Will Anderson and Christian Harris, A
• 32:40
Speaker 4: couple of draft picks there the last couple of years
• 32:42
Speaker 4: there in Houston, Will had a sack, Christian Harris was
• 32:45
Speaker 4: all over the field, tackles all over the place. Again,
• 32:49
Speaker 4: fun team to watch, and they're playing complimentary football here.
• 32:52
Speaker 4: When CJ didn't have it, defense made it stand up,
• 32:55
Speaker 4: which is kind of cool.
• 32:56
Speaker 1: Hey, buck real quick? Who drafted Tank Dell this week
• 32:58
Speaker 1: in our rookie draft?
• 33:02
  Speaker 2: Oh you got him, didn't he? I don't think I
• 33:05
  Speaker 2: didn't get him.
• 33:06
Speaker 1: Come on, because you took Stroud And I said, I'm
• 33:10
Speaker 1: not getting you the connection yet, not get.
• 33:13
Speaker 3: He's not letting you get the trifect of the combination.
• 33:16
Speaker 3: But my goodness, they're young, dude. I mean just it's
• 33:20
Speaker 3: it's really amazing Tangdale doing what he's doing. But man,
• 33:23
Speaker 3: how about Devin Singletary going over one hundred yards like
• 33:25
Speaker 3: you talk about the donasty Yeah. Last year, man, it
• 33:29
Speaker 3: was all about Damian Parson all that other stuff. And
• 33:31
Speaker 3: now for them to remember Buffalo just kind of dispatched him,
• 33:35
Speaker 3: didn't think he really could do anything. He goes to Houston,
• 33:37
Speaker 3: he's been a big time playbacker for them.
• 33:40
Speaker 2: This is a dangerous team. It's a scary team.
• 33:43
Speaker 3: Because they're getting confidence and they've won in a bunch
• 33:45
Speaker 3: of different ways. Look, man, they're gonna be a force
• 33:47
Speaker 3: to be reckoned with as they continue to grow and
• 33:49
Speaker 3: grow together. This is a team that has done a
• 33:51
Speaker 3: really good job of rebuilding itself, and I don't I
• 33:54
Speaker 3: think the best is yet to come because there's still
• 33:56
Speaker 3: so many pieces that they can add to this puzzle.
• 34:00
Speaker 1: Yeah, I'll tell you what, this is a perfect This
• 34:01
Speaker 1: is perfect for Arizona real quick.
• 34:03
  Speaker 2: RHT.
• 34:03
Speaker 1: That's what I want to see. I want to see
• 34:05
Speaker 1: Kyler Murray play, you know, do some good things. Play well.
• 34:09
Speaker 1: Give me some hope that he can, you know, be
• 34:11
Speaker 1: who we has been at his best going forward. Free
• 34:14
Speaker 1: us up with the second overall pick in the draft
• 34:17
Speaker 1: to be able to trade it for a king's ransom
• 34:19
Speaker 1: if you wanted. I think they picked two and twenty
• 34:21
Speaker 1: one if the season ended today, because obviously the Houston
• 34:24
Speaker 1: pick hasn't worked out as well as they would have
• 34:26
Speaker 1: hoped the way they're playing, right, But I mean that
• 34:29
  Speaker 1: I don't know everybody's We've just kind of assumed, I think,
• 34:31
Speaker 1: you know, before the season started that this is you know,
• 34:34
Speaker 1: Caleb Williams or it's gonna be Drake May. They're taking
• 34:36
Speaker 1: a quarterback, whether they're one or two. Now I'm sitting
• 34:39
Speaker 1: here saying, if they're two and Kyler Murray shows you
• 34:43
Speaker 1: what we've seen like some doing some good things. I mean,
• 34:45
Speaker 1: this is a rookie of the year. This guy's had
• 34:47
Speaker 1: some big time moments and big time games, and you
• 34:50
  Speaker 1: already paid him. So I don't know that. I don't
• 34:53
Speaker 1: know that the threshold for him is as high as
• 34:56
Speaker 1: as maybe for another, you know, first contract quarterback. You're like, Okay,
• 34:59
Speaker 1: we we don't want to pay him, We're going to
• 35:01
Speaker 1: draft another one. We'll start the process. So you've already
• 35:03
Speaker 1: wrote the check, or you just.
• 35:05
Speaker 4: Put you know, you just put Marvin Harrison in place
• 35:08
Speaker 4: of Greg Dortch, who is their leading.
• 35:10
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Well, that's the other thing. Yeah,
• 35:12
Speaker 1: either trade that pick or you take what As I'm
• 35:14
Speaker 1: getting started on this, I don't know that there's going
• 35:16
Speaker 1: to be a better player than Marvin Harrison in this draft.
• 35:18
Speaker 1: And that's including the quarterbacks. So yeah, and then he's
• 35:21
Speaker 1: your Larry Fitzgerald for exact generation exactly off and running
• 35:26
Speaker 1: all right, next game up here? Who is up next?
• 35:28
  Speaker 2: It's me.
• 35:29
Speaker 1: We had the Sunday night or this was the Broncos
• 35:32
Speaker 1: coming back beating the Vikings. I wanted to jump in
• 35:35
Speaker 1: and look at Russell Wilson. So that was my tape
• 35:37
Speaker 1: study this morning, studied him, went through all of his plays.
• 35:40
Speaker 1: I thought it was interesting, you know, you think about
• 35:43
Speaker 1: a veteran coach. Even though the points didn't come early,
• 35:46
Speaker 1: they had they stalled out. They had some field goals
• 35:48
Speaker 1: there in the first half. But I thought that to
• 35:51
Speaker 1: steal a Bucky line, they let him get see the
• 35:54
Speaker 1: ball go through the hoop, you know, so the way
• 35:56
Speaker 1: they start out the game as a quarterback and it's
• 36:00
Speaker 1: little stick route, just an easy easy throw. Get the receiver,
• 36:03
Speaker 1: gives you the numbers. It's an easy, easy completion. Then
• 36:06
  Speaker 1: it's a swing. Then he's checking the ball down a
• 36:09
Speaker 1: couple of times. You know, he hit a curl and
• 36:12
Speaker 1: so he hit a curl to Judy, he hit a
• 36:13
Speaker 1: go ball of a sudden and you know, somewhat early.
• 36:16
Speaker 1: But they ease him into games and they get him
• 36:19
Speaker 1: and I think it kind of gets him into that mindset.
• 36:20
Speaker 1: There's a reason that they're doing so well, you know,
• 36:22
Speaker 1: protecting the football and not turning the ball over. I
• 36:25
Speaker 1: think sometimes in games, what you do early on in
• 36:27
Speaker 1: the game kind of dictates the mindset for the quarterback
• 36:30
Speaker 1: of how to play. And I think it's, hey, we're
• 36:32
Speaker 1: going to take what they give us. Man, We're not
• 36:33
Speaker 1: gonna We're not gonna try and do too much. We're
• 36:35
Speaker 1: gonna take. We're gonna stay in the game's not gonna
• 36:37
Speaker 1: get away from us. Our defense is going to play well.
• 36:40
Speaker 1: We're not going to lose the game early. We're going
• 36:42
Speaker 1: to feel the game out. We're going to hang in
• 36:44
Speaker 1: the game. And as we start getting a feel for
• 36:46
Speaker 1: the opponent and what, you know, we're gonna we have
• 36:48
Speaker 1: a couple of shots that we're going to dial in here,
• 36:50
  Speaker 1: we'll bake into the offense. But I don't know, I
• 36:52
Speaker 1: just I thought it was kind of a masterful job
• 36:54
Speaker 1: by Sean Payton of just getting someone into the flow
• 36:57
Speaker 1: of a game. And that's what he did with Russell
• 36:58
Speaker 1: Wilson and then obviously the big time throw late, you know,
• 37:01
Speaker 1: to win the ball game. But I thought that game
• 37:03
Speaker 1: was one not late, but was one early with how
• 37:06
Speaker 1: they kind of got into the ball game.
• 37:07
Speaker 3: Yeah, No, I give Champagne a lot of credit for
• 37:09
Speaker 3: what he's been able to do. And this is why
• 37:12
Speaker 3: there's something to have an experience as a head coach,
• 37:15
Speaker 3: because what he's been able to do is take an
• 37:17
Speaker 3: assess where Russell Wilson is, how this offense needs to flow,
• 37:21
Speaker 3: and make tweets along the way to get it going.
• 37:23
Speaker 3: So they've rilled off with four straight wins. They're now
• 37:26
Speaker 3: sending five hundred. He's done a really good job of
• 37:28
Speaker 3: kind of bringing Russell Wilson back. When I look at
• 37:30
Speaker 3: this offense, when I squint, it's a little bit of
• 37:33
Speaker 3: the Drew Brees at the end of his career offense,
• 37:36
Speaker 3: a lot of control passes, running game dependent and then
• 37:41
Speaker 3: just leaning on the veteran quarterback to make just a
• 37:43
Speaker 3: handful of plays each week to push them over the top.
• 37:47
Speaker 3: Back to back weeks, we've seen Russell Wilson have a
• 37:50
Speaker 3: game winning drive. We've seen him gain more confidence, and
• 37:52
Speaker 3: we feel like the old Russell is coming back. And look,
• 37:55
Speaker 3: I'll be the first one to say I felt I've
• 37:57
Speaker 3: been one of his harshest critics when it comes to
• 37:59
Speaker 3: his game falling off, but Sean Payton has done a
• 38:01
Speaker 3: really good job of putting him in a very comfortable
• 38:04
Speaker 3: environment and allowing him to kind.
• 38:06
  Speaker 2: Of play.
• 38:08
Speaker 3: In a safe space. We'll see if they can continue
• 38:10
Speaker 3: to do it. But this Broadgos team, it's a lot
• 38:14
Speaker 3: different than the team that played the first four or
• 38:16
Speaker 3: five weeks of the season.
• 38:18
Speaker 4: I mean, shoot, they're sitting near at five, they're five
• 38:20
Speaker 4: hundred right in the mix. Thought, and here's the thing,
• 38:24
Speaker 4: like let's just and quickly here on this one, like
• 38:28
Speaker 4: something to be said for patients in this game, man,
• 38:30
Speaker 4: I mean, Sean Payton should have fired a vance Joseph
• 38:33
Speaker 4: the minute of Miami game ended. Right should have fired
• 38:36
Speaker 4: the defensive coordinator playing a little bit better on defense.
• 38:39
Speaker 5: The last four or five weeks.
• 38:40
Speaker 4: Right should have traded away Courtland Sutton and Jerry Judy.
• 38:43
Speaker 4: Courtland Sutton's got a nice connection building a five straight
• 38:46
Speaker 4: games a touchdown bang bang, and then Jerry Judy, you know,
• 38:50
Speaker 4: five catches fifty eight yards in this game as well.
• 38:54
Speaker 4: So like it has taken time, and you know, a
• 38:58
Speaker 4: hat tip, you know to the ownership group there and
• 39:01
Speaker 4: to the you know, front office there for exercising some
• 39:05
Speaker 4: patients with how things were going to go, not fire
• 39:08
Speaker 4: sailing everything, you know, at the trade deadline when they
• 39:10
Speaker 4: certainly could have, right, and there was that there was
• 39:13
Speaker 4: definitely that momentum towards that, but they decided to stick
• 39:16
  Speaker 4: it out.
• 39:16
  Speaker 5: And it's paying.
• 39:17
Speaker 4: That dividends again with a coach who has a track
• 39:20
Speaker 4: record of telling you he can do it.
• 39:22
Speaker 1: So Yeah. Also, there's sign of a good coach, guys,
• 39:25
Speaker 1: is when you get points before the half. That's big, man,
• 39:27
Speaker 1: like just even going down there getting that field goal.
• 39:29
Speaker 1: It's this it's kind of cliche or hockey like situational
• 39:33
Speaker 1: mastery or whatever, like, yeah, you know what, good teams
• 39:35
Speaker 1: and good quarterbacks they get those points every single time,
• 39:39
Speaker 1: you know, and they don't try and do too much,
• 39:41
Speaker 1: just get the field going and get some points and
• 39:44
Speaker 1: off you go into the half. It's just the sign
• 39:45
Speaker 1: of a well coached team to me. Teams that know
• 39:47
Speaker 1: how to manage those end a half and end of
• 39:49
Speaker 1: game situations. They've obviously done at the end of the
• 39:51
Speaker 1: game the last couple of weeks.
• 39:53
Speaker 3: They certainly have, and everyone has to be on the
• 39:55
Speaker 3: same page to do it coach player for them to
• 39:58
Speaker 3: kind of make the plays that they've been able to do.
• 40:01
Speaker 3: I'm really kind of astonished because I did not think
• 40:03
Speaker 3: that Russell still had any of that.
• 40:04
Speaker 2: Left, but that's it.
• 40:06
Speaker 3: On the other side, I am amazed at how much
• 40:09
Speaker 3: leeway they're giving Josh Dobbs as a backup quarterback, and
• 40:13
Speaker 3: I mean it is as if he has the full
• 40:15
Speaker 3: complement of plays game plan. They're throwing almost every down,
• 40:20
  Speaker 3: and I'm like, man, I don't know if I've ever
• 40:21
Speaker 3: seen a backup quarterback get this much uh leeway. Yeah,
• 40:27
Speaker 3: to just kind of operate and play like a franchise quarterback.
• 40:31
Speaker 3: I mean, it's a credit to him learning to the offense.
• 40:33
Speaker 3: But I do wonder if take a skilly back just
• 40:35
Speaker 3: a little bit and not necessarily make him the playmaker,
• 40:38
Speaker 3: but a little more of the game manager.
• 40:39
Speaker 1: Plus, I mean, if he just plays like this even
• 40:42
  Speaker 1: if they're if they don't win, Kevin's gonna he's gonna
• 40:44
Speaker 1: get the Coach of the Year. He's going to be
• 40:45
Speaker 1: in the running for the Coach of the Year. What
• 40:47
  Speaker 1: he's been able to do. I give Kevin o'connen a
• 40:49
Speaker 1: lot of credit as well as Dobbs. Dobbs been has
• 40:51
Speaker 1: been awesome, but Kevin's made him comfortable and they rolled there.
• 40:55
Speaker 1: We've got one more game here, Buck, You've got what
• 40:57
Speaker 1: you got the Raiders and Dolphins here.
• 40:59
Speaker 3: Yeah, Raiders, and so this is one that you wanted
• 41:02
Speaker 3: to see because you look, the Raiders had created a
• 41:05
Speaker 3: little buzz, have won two straight games at home. So
• 41:07
Speaker 3: now they're going to take on a big opponent and
• 41:09
Speaker 3: the Miami Dolphins, and look, a very competitive game, a
• 41:12
Speaker 3: game that was right there for them to take. Couldn't
• 41:14
Speaker 3: make the plays, But to me, this is all about
• 41:16
Speaker 3: the Dolphins. And normally I come in talk about the
• 41:18
Speaker 3: Dolphins offense, which is always remarkable, like Tyreek Hill is
• 41:22
Speaker 3: him hydro forty six receiving yards, did a really good
• 41:25
Speaker 3: job of making plays.
• 41:27
Speaker 2: But this defense is kind of rounding into form. Oh,
• 41:32
Speaker 2: Jalen Ramsey coming back as interceptions in the two tail weeks. Yeah,
• 41:37
Speaker 2: like Jalen Phillips driven him, teaming up with Bradley Chubb
• 41:41
Speaker 2: giving him the pass rush to go with the coverage.
• 41:44
Speaker 2: And it's a team that you know, they hadn't beat
• 41:47
Speaker 2: any heavyweights, but they're sitting in a perfect spot where
• 41:50
Speaker 2: they could swipe the number one seed. It's the Kansas
• 41:52
Speaker 2: City the Chiefs falter and then all roads go through
• 41:55
Speaker 2: South Florida with a defense that's really beginning to kind
• 41:58
Speaker 2: of come into his own under Vic fangioll. This defense
• 42:01
Speaker 2: look like it's going to be one of those tough
• 42:03
Speaker 2: defenses down to stretch. Could be a very very difficult
• 42:06
Speaker 2: team to face because you can't keep up with the
• 42:07
Speaker 2: offense and then defensively they get in turnovers. Very problematic
• 42:11
Speaker 2: for the opponents in the AFC.
• 42:14
Speaker 1: Yeah, no, it's you know, it's a big win for them.
• 42:16
Speaker 1: I actually had a little bit of a premonition that
• 42:19
Speaker 1: the Raiders might keep this close. I think it's an
• 42:21
Speaker 1: easy game to overlook. I know the Raiders have won
• 42:23
Speaker 1: a couple games, but you're the Dolphins and you're kind
• 42:25
Speaker 1: of going through your schedule and that one doesn't really
• 42:27
Speaker 1: pop right, and you got Aidan O'Connell out there. So
• 42:30
Speaker 1: it was kind of one of those muddy, ugly games.
• 42:32
Speaker 1: But you got to find a way to win those
• 42:33
Speaker 1: games when you're not necessarily playing your best. And offensively
• 42:37
Speaker 1: they weren't at their best, but the defense bailed them out.
• 42:40
Speaker 1: Battle is big, Yeah, yeah, so you pick them off
• 42:42
Speaker 1: three times. That helps Rhett on any of these other
• 42:45
Speaker 1: games here, Giants, Commanders, Cowboys, Panthers, Jets, Bills was a
• 42:49
Speaker 1: thrashing and then Seahawks Rams ended up being a great game.
• 42:53
Speaker 1: Any comments, any nuggets on any of those.
• 42:55
Speaker 4: Panthers fans are overly attached to Brian Burns. I don't
• 42:59
Speaker 4: know if you guys read your comments.
• 43:02
  Speaker 2: Us.
• 43:04
Speaker 1: They did not want you trading Brian Burns.
• 43:06
Speaker 5: They did not want to traden Brian Burns.
• 43:07
  Speaker 2: Guys.
• 43:08
Speaker 4: And I just say, like, if you're Panthers fanning, you
• 43:10
Speaker 4: watched the end of that game where you know it went.
• 43:13
Speaker 5: From bad to worse like that for the Rice.
• 43:16
Speaker 4: Young in the offense, you're like, guys, I mean like,
• 43:18
Speaker 4: I don't know how many more offensive coordinators you want
• 43:20
Speaker 4: to how many more play callers do you want to
• 43:22
Speaker 4: put in here? Give Josh mccounter run. It's the same
• 43:25
Speaker 4: guys out there, you know, and and so like it's
• 43:28
Speaker 4: it's just it's time for them to start figuring out
• 43:30
Speaker 4: that playing forward to help help out on offense. And
• 43:34
Speaker 4: the thing I'll say on the bills, they had fun
• 43:36
Speaker 4: playing offense, which I don't know that we could say
• 43:39
Speaker 4: that for the last you know, ten weeks, like everything
• 43:42
Speaker 4: looked like it was hard.
• 43:43
Speaker 5: You're always fighting, scratching and cross klawn.
• 43:46
Speaker 4: In this game, it just it felt like things it
• 43:48
Speaker 4: just felt a little bit more natural. And I think
• 43:51
Speaker 4: that's not just on coordinator change. I think that's mentality
• 43:54
Speaker 4: change from the quarterback and from the associated weapons out
• 43:57
Speaker 4: there to get that thing together and understand how they
• 43:59
Speaker 4: want to attack. And it obviously paid big definitds.
• 44:03
Speaker 1: I didn't see that game, either of you guys. Buck
• 44:06
Speaker 1: did did Joe Brady take his notebook and slam it
• 44:08
Speaker 1: on the ground and start punching it in the press spot?
• 44:11
Speaker 3: He didn't give us the couple, but he had a
• 44:15
Speaker 3: he had a couple of fist pumps.
• 44:17
Speaker 2: He was a little excited. Uh, they got it going.
• 44:20
Speaker 3: And look, he did a really good job of just
• 44:22
Speaker 3: kind of keeping as simple man. Look, his players not plays.
• 44:25
Speaker 3: He put the ball in the hands of the best playmakers.
• 44:27
Speaker 3: They made plays, and those things the thing that I am.
• 44:31
Speaker 3: I guess I can't understand this when people are watching
• 44:34
Speaker 3: the Jets, I can't understand, like, why all the conversation
• 44:39
Speaker 3: is centered on the quarterback. Their their office is terrible
• 44:44
Speaker 3: up front, It's terrible, and I don't know if anyone
• 44:48
Speaker 3: could could thrive in that situation. I'm not saying is
• 44:52
Speaker 3: zach which is going to amount to anything, but man,
• 44:54
Speaker 3: I just feel like he has been the punching bag
• 44:57
Speaker 3: that has allowed people to ignore all the other stuff
• 45:00
Speaker 3: that is really plaguing this team.
• 45:02
Speaker 2: This team offensively is bad and they're not going to
• 45:06
Speaker 2: win games no matter who you tried out there. Joe
• 45:08
Speaker 2: Names could come back, but they're not going to be
• 45:10
Speaker 2: any better until they change.
• 45:13
Speaker 1: Here's here's here's my question. It is baffling to me
• 45:16
Speaker 1: in that in that market in the last twenty I
• 45:21
Speaker 1: was maybe you can even go back thirty years outside
• 45:24
Speaker 1: of Eli Manning, who by the way, had a bumpy ride,
• 45:27
Speaker 1: you know, if not for you know what he did
• 45:29
Speaker 1: in the postseason. Tell me the guy that's had developed
• 45:32
Speaker 1: and had any staying power there. They eat their own
• 45:35
Speaker 1: at the quarterback position in that market for the Jets
• 45:37
Speaker 1: and the Giants. I'm tell me who the like Mark
• 45:40
Speaker 1: Santez had a little blip and then he was gone gone.
• 45:43
  Speaker 1: It's so to me, it's it's it's almost a from
• 45:47
Speaker 1: a team building philosophy, it's almost like, hey, we're just
• 45:50
Speaker 1: gonna bring in the veterans. We're gonna we're gonna overpay
• 45:52
Speaker 1: if we have to trade for one, if we're gonna
• 45:53
Speaker 1: do whatever. But we got to have somebody who's got
• 45:55
Speaker 1: some credibility because it turns on it's just such an
• 45:59
Speaker 1: eas escapegoat and it's like, ah, look at this, you
• 46:02
Speaker 1: know this, this one dumb play and then he's the
• 46:05
Speaker 1: worst player of all time and they're like, I get it.
• 46:07
Speaker 1: They can't score points, they cannot score points, and Zach
• 46:10
Speaker 1: Wilson is not good, He's not played good. I don't
• 46:12
Speaker 1: know that he's the answer. I think he might be,
• 46:14
Speaker 1: you know, ruined, and you can, you can, you can
• 46:17
Speaker 1: get a million different opinions if you talk to people
• 46:19
Speaker 1: in the football space about who's you know, who's responsible
• 46:22
Speaker 1: for why he's been as bad as he is. But
• 46:25
Speaker 1: I think if you open your eyes and look at it,
• 46:28
Speaker 1: you can say they cannot protect. They cannot run the ball.
• 46:32
Speaker 1: Every time. I mean, I'm always flying. I feel like
• 46:34
Speaker 1: when these games are going on, and I feel like
• 46:36
Speaker 1: I always look down at box scores, I'm like, oh
• 46:38
Speaker 1: my gosh, Dak Wilson's lead him and rushing again, Like
• 46:40
Speaker 1: they can't run the ball, so you can't pass protect,
• 46:43
Speaker 1: you can't run the ball, they can't catch, they have
• 46:46
Speaker 1: drops every week. I'm sure I didn't even see this one,
• 46:48
Speaker 1: but I'm sure there were and and without without pause,
• 46:51
Speaker 1: I can guarantee you there's a handful of dumb penalties
• 46:54
Speaker 1: because they're good for a handful of those every week.
• 46:56
Speaker 1: So I mean, and Zach Wilson. You know, look, I'm
• 46:59
Speaker 1: almost like waving the white flag on that, like, hey,
• 47:02
Speaker 1: you got you guys win. You want to move on
• 47:04
Speaker 1: from Zack Wilson, move on from Zach Wilson. I'm fine.
• 47:06
Speaker 1: I'm not going to fight that fight anymore. But if
• 47:08
Speaker 1: you think that this is the that that is the
• 47:10
Speaker 1: singular issue with this offense, you are not being honest
• 47:13
Speaker 1: with yourself. There is that? Is that enough? I wouldn't
• 47:18
Speaker 1: even want to talk about them today because it's just
• 47:20
Speaker 1: like a watch watch.
• 47:22
Speaker 3: They're they're really really really hard to watch, really hard.
• 47:26
Speaker 1: To It's not an easy watch on your eyes for sure.
• 47:29
Speaker 1: All Right, that's going to do it for us today.
• 47:30
Speaker 1: It's a fun episode, some interesting games. We have got
• 47:33
Speaker 1: a banger coming up tonight, Game of the week really
• 47:36
Speaker 1: Monday Night. We've got the Chiefs, We've got the Eagles.
• 47:38
Speaker 1: We will dig into that tomorrow, break that one down
• 47:41
Speaker 1: for you, and we will have shows each and every
• 47:43
Speaker 1: day this week. Given those Thanksgiving we will record, record
• 47:46
Speaker 1: a little bit and we'll have five for you coming.
• 47:48
Speaker 1: So we appreciate you. And by the way, he'll love this.
• 47:51
Speaker 1: I uh I always print out our notes and our
• 47:54
Speaker 1: rundown and everything, so apparently on the printer I added
• 47:58
Speaker 1: an extra page which was not that which is the
• 48:01
Speaker 1: buck you'll like this, which is for the Rouths. Yes, yes, yeah,
• 48:11
Speaker 1: very good. Yeah, but big Ruth Chris guy, so I
• 48:14
Speaker 1: know he would love that. Anyways, we'll get that cast
• 48:17
Speaker 1: role done. We'll get that done for Thanksgiving. All right,
• 48:20
Speaker 1: We'll see you next time. Right here, unmove the sticks.
