- 0:00Speaker 1: Which Daily speak first on just this season and whole.
- 0:03Speaker 1: I know it didn't end in the final result of
- 0:05Speaker 1: what everybody would want it, but what this team is
- 0:07Speaker 1: accomplished and what you can be proud of of getting
- 0:10Speaker 1: to the final four.
- 0:11Speaker 2: Well, I think we had a tremendous season.
- 0:13Speaker 3: And it's hard at this moment to appreciate all everything
- 0:17Speaker 3: that we've done because we just lost. But I think,
- 0:20Speaker 3: you know, once we you know, and it's supposed to hurt,
- 0:23Speaker 3: you know, with something that we worked really hard for
- 0:25Speaker 3: and we were disappointed, But I think once we get
- 0:28Speaker 3: through the disappointment, we'll be able to look back and
- 0:31Speaker 3: just see what a special group it is, how much
- 0:33Speaker 3: fun they had. So it's supposed to hurt because it
- 0:38Speaker 3: means a lot, but at some point, once we get
- 0:41Speaker 3: through that, we'll be able to really appreciate everything that
- 0:44Speaker 3: we did.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Ashly and Shade just spoke to about how special this
- 0:48Speaker 1: group was. To yourself, just amazing on what she'll take
- 0:52Speaker 1: this the season of all of them, and they're all
- 0:54Speaker 1: special and everything's great, but just how much she really
- 0:56Speaker 1: enjoyed this season.
- 0:57Speaker 2: I think that says something too. With this group of ladies. Yeah,
- 1:00Speaker 2: you know, I think.
- 1:02Speaker 3: The last couple of years has been that way, and
- 1:04Speaker 3: that's the reflection of the players that are.
- 1:06Speaker 2: On the team. Not every team is different.
- 1:08Speaker 3: So last year's team is personality was different too this
- 1:11Speaker 3: year and they were able to within incorporating some new people,
- 1:15Speaker 3: freshmen and transfers, to create the same kind of environment,
- 1:19Speaker 3: if not better based on what they say. So it's
- 1:22Speaker 3: a credit to them and the kind of kids they
- 1:24Speaker 3: are and really the willingness to put away any kind
- 1:28Speaker 3: of personal goals and the selflessness that they have because
- 1:33Speaker 3: they wanted to win.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Getting to the game. The numbers just seemed that the
- 1:38Speaker 1: ball did not want to.
- 1:39Speaker 2: Drop for you tonight.
- 1:40Speaker 1: And we can take a look at you know, the
- 1:41Speaker 1: three point percentage and yeah, right, so I don't need
- 1:44Speaker 1: to repeat the numbers for you and that what do
- 1:46Speaker 1: you is that it's just the basketball guys so to speak,
- 1:49Speaker 1: or what you know?
- 1:50Speaker 3: What I think? One, our defense was good. We held
- 1:52Speaker 3: a team that was averaging in the eighties to sixty
- 1:54Speaker 3: two points. So on the defensive end, you know, we
- 2:00Speaker 3: ousmore turnovers. It was just on the offensive end we
- 2:03Speaker 3: and they had something to do with it, but we
- 2:06Speaker 3: weren't able to get clean looks and you know, we're
- 2:10Speaker 3: not going to win a lot of games of Sarah
- 2:12Speaker 3: and Asy struggle the way they did. We needed, you know,
- 2:17Speaker 3: a third and fourth scorer. I thought Ash did a
- 2:19Speaker 3: good job stepping up. I thought everybody had like moments.
- 2:23Speaker 2: But it was a struggle for us on the offensive end.
- 2:26Speaker 3: And so we hadn't really shot the ball great in
- 2:31Speaker 3: the last over the last three weeks, but you know,
- 2:34Speaker 3: we you know, tried to grind it out and today
- 2:37Speaker 3: we just didn't have that opportunity to finish it off.
- 2:39Speaker 1: When you talk about the hustle, was there that a
- 2:43Speaker 1: lot of times just deflections that it seemed to always
- 2:45Speaker 1: just the ball would bounce conveniently just to South Carolina.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Just one of those things that didn't go well. And
- 2:51Speaker 1: some of that with rebounding as well.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yeah, well, you know what, we are a championship program
- 2:56Speaker 3: and we play hard and so there's never going to
- 3:00Speaker 3: be that there's that's not a question. It's just a
- 3:02Speaker 3: matter sometimes, as you said, the ball doesn't bounce our way.
- 3:08Speaker 3: And you know, we tried a lot of different things
- 3:10Speaker 3: to try to see and we made you know, I
- 3:12Speaker 3: thought a couple of times we made a couple of
- 3:15Speaker 3: threes in a row. I thought easy, you know, thought
- 3:17Speaker 3: you're on your way to take control of the game,
- 3:19Speaker 3: and then they would goodham and hit a big shot,
- 3:22Speaker 3: or we fouled or whatever. So it's it's it's a
- 3:28Speaker 3: tough pill to swallow because we're a better offensive team
- 3:32Speaker 3: than we showed.
- 3:33Speaker 2: So that's you.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Know, again, if you play your absolute best and you lose,
- 3:38Speaker 3: that's one thing. But we didn't play on the offensive end.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Our absolute best.
- 3:43Speaker 3: And like I said, I think South Carolina had had
- 3:46Speaker 3: something to do with that. They were very physical and
- 3:48Speaker 3: very aggressive, but I thought there were shots that we
- 3:51Speaker 3: normally make that we just didn't see go in the hall.
- 3:54Speaker 1: So yes, and not to okay over and you turn
- 3:58Speaker 1: the page again. Hella team, you know you know that
- 4:01Speaker 1: is coming back. They get to relax, recuperate, do that.
- 4:04Speaker 1: When does everybody decide like, okay, we got to get
- 4:07Speaker 1: back to work. As I know you as coaches, never ends,
- 4:09Speaker 1: but just saying that, you know, when.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Do you have to have that We it's a long
- 4:13Speaker 3: season and you get you know, you're pretty beat up
- 4:15Speaker 3: at this point, so we'll give them an opportunity to rest.
- 4:19Speaker 3: I think it's mandated at least one week, but it'll
- 4:22Speaker 3: probably be more, depending but we'll start kind of just
- 4:27Speaker 3: thinking about next year already and talking about the things
- 4:30Speaker 3: that we need to get better at as individuals.
- 4:32Speaker 2: And it'll start whenever it starts, whether it's.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Two weeks, whether it's it's hard to believe that we'll
- 4:38Speaker 3: be in exams and what three weeks.
- 4:40Speaker 2: So I don't know the timing of all of it yet.
- 4:44Speaker 3: I just know that we'll enjoy the you know, our
- 4:48Speaker 3: last night together and head home root for the men,
- 4:54Speaker 3: and then we'll figure out what the next steps are
- 4:56Speaker 3: and we'll get back at it at some point.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Well, thank you and everyone, not just our little nation
- 5:02Speaker 1: here right in here, has really enjoyed you and the
- 5:04Speaker 1: and the team this year. So thanks for giving us
- 5:06Speaker 1: a great year.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Thank you appreciate it.
