- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Shit's about to get nerdy in here.
- 0:47SPEAKER_04: And I'm Travis Peasley.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: Well, now that we're back in the swing of things, uh Oh, it feels so good.
- 0:52SPEAKER_02: It still feels so good.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: It does.
- 0:55SPEAKER_02: Uh, how was everybody's weekend?
- 0:59SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 0:59SPEAKER_03: You know.
- 1:00SPEAKER_03: You know.
- 1:01SPEAKER_03: Just same shit.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: Weakening.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: Weakening?
- 1:04SPEAKER_03: Getting weaker.
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: That's me.
- 1:06SPEAKER_03: That definitely did not come across the way I uh same shit, different day, you know.
- 1:12SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah.
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: I yeah.
- 1:14SPEAKER_04: Um same turning my Nintendo Switch on and off over and over again, in the hope that I'll see a Pokemon that's a slightly different color than it was before.
- 1:24SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: I understand.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: I've pretty much spent the weekend, well, finishing my finishing compiling my research and also painting minis.
- 1:33SPEAKER_03: And I have spent my weekend taking more photos of the stars.
- 1:39SPEAKER_02: After photography.
- 1:40SPEAKER_02: Ooh, and the moon.
- 1:41SPEAKER_04: And the moon.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:43SPEAKER_03: Stars and the moon.
- 1:45SPEAKER_03: Getting uh pretty good at it if I do say so myself.
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: You really are.
- 1:48SPEAKER_02: And the sun?
- 1:50SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:50SPEAKER_03: No, I don't have the proper equipment for that.
- 1:53SPEAKER_03: They do make stuff, but it's expensive, and I'm just not gonna do that right now.
- 1:58SPEAKER_04: Oh, see, you know, I said that as a joke because it's like don't look at the sun.
- 2:03SPEAKER_04: Well, no, and it's like a nighttime hobby, you know?
- 2:07SPEAKER_04: So it's like you you you literally can't.
- 2:10SPEAKER_04: Except, I guess people do.
- 2:11SPEAKER_03: So yeah, they do actually have uh stuff for you to be able to take pictures of the sun and catch like solar flares and stuff.
- 2:20SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's fun.
- 2:21SPEAKER_03: But um good for now on that.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Well, I'd say we're all pretty passionate about that stuff.
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well, we're all on our bullshit over here at Dungeon Pedia Incorporated.
- 2:32SPEAKER_04: We're not a corporation.
- 2:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: What we're going to talk about today has zero passions.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: Oh?
- 2:38SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 2:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:39SPEAKER_04: Is it are we going back to Nirvana?
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: No.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: What's going on?
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: No.
- 2:43SPEAKER_02: Zero passions.
- 2:45SPEAKER_02: Last week I made a joke about not knowing what I was going to research.
- 2:48SPEAKER_02: Are we talking about Jedi?
- 2:49SPEAKER_02: No.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 2:50SPEAKER_02: No, no, no, no.
- 2:51SPEAKER_02: This week, and then I remembered.
- 2:53SPEAKER_02: I uh I already had I've been working on my Ugaloths off and on for like the entire hiatus.
- 2:59SPEAKER_02: So I come back in, refresh my knowledge of it, and so without fur further ado, we proceed to our final group of infernals, the Yugaloths.
- 3:07SPEAKER_03: The Ugaloths.
- 3:08SPEAKER_02: Isn't it?
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: No.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: Okay, so the Ugaloths are the neutral evil fiends.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: Uh they come from either Gehenna or the Grey Wastes of Hades, depending on the source material.
- 3:18SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 3:19SPEAKER_04: Mm-hmm.
- 3:19SPEAKER_04: I feel like we we mentioned.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: They're also called Loths for short, or sometimes daemons, which is an ancient archaic uh Greek word for demons and devils and the like.
- 3:32SPEAKER_04: No, I'm pretty sure that's an animal friend that you have that's like part of your soul.
- 3:38SPEAKER_04: And it oh no.
- 3:39SPEAKER_04: Isn't his dark materials?
- 3:40SPEAKER_02: Damn it.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 3:42SPEAKER_03: Damons?
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: Damons.
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: Spelled D-A-E-M-O-N-S.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: It's just kind of an ancient Greek, it's an archaic word that basically means the same thing.
- 3:53SPEAKER_02: Interesting, though.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Um so you galoths are widely accepted as the most evil of fiends.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: Oh, really?
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: That's all they are.
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: Evil.
- 4:02SPEAKER_02: True.
- 4:03SPEAKER_02: Fair enough.
- 4:04SPEAKER_02: They don't rebel in chaos, they're not bound by law, they're just evil.
- 4:07SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 4:08SPEAKER_03: They're just strictly evil.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: Hmm.
- 4:10SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I guess.
- 4:12SPEAKER_02: Ugaloths are an especially interesting infernal race.
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: I did not think I was going to be as intrigued by them as I am.
- 4:20SPEAKER_04: That's famous last words here, Dungeon Pedia.
- 4:23SPEAKER_02: Uh, you know the phrase evil is only a matter of perspective?
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 4:28SPEAKER_02: Ugaloths exemplify that.
- 4:30SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 4:31SPEAKER_02: Ugaloths as a race are obsessed with achieving perfection.
- 4:37SPEAKER_02: Without the shackles and permissions associated with law and chaos, their field of f they feel free to pursue their definition of perfection without any distractions.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: The definition of perfection, of course, is to rise above all emotions, to be completely dispassionate and unfeeling, operating with cold logic to manipulate everyone around them to fit their desires.
- 5:00SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 5:01SPEAKER_04: Jesus.
- 5:03SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's that's interesting.
- 5:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:06SPEAKER_04: Because I I feel like, like I get it, I get it, but I I do feel like the kind of image of like dispassionate, manipulative feels kind of lawful.
- 5:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:19SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 5:20SPEAKER_02: But it they they're not bound by law.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: They they just do whatever is the most effective.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: So if breaking the law is the most effective.
- 5:28SPEAKER_04: If following the law is the most effective.
- 5:30SPEAKER_04: It doesn't matter.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: That's what they're gonna do.
- 5:32SPEAKER_04: Interesting.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: So on a societal level, this uh kind of translates to, well, Yugaloth histories saying that they manipulated the blood war between the demons and devils for being.
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: And that they might have created the Ober Earth demons in the original Betorian Devils, the one that the ones that they killed.
- 5:53SPEAKER_02: Holy shit.
- 5:54SPEAKER_02: Jesus.
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: On a cosmological level, they want all the planes to be like theirs, full of emotionless, manipulative, cruel beings who are puppet masters for the lesser folk into serving their needs.
- 6:06SPEAKER_03: Well, aren't they just nice?
- 6:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:10SPEAKER_02: They're just sharing their perfection with the world.
- 6:13SPEAKER_04: Oh shit.
- 6:14SPEAKER_03: Hmm.
- 6:15SPEAKER_04: I mean, yeah.
- 6:16SPEAKER_03: Or their twisted view of perfection.
- 6:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:19SPEAKER_04: It's a it's a good thing that nobody thinks like that in real life.
- 6:24SPEAKER_04: I don't think too much on that.
- 6:26SPEAKER_02: Um, interestingly enough, in this pursuit of making everyone like them, Ugaloths aren't made from the deceased souls of evil like the other types of infernals.
- 6:35SPEAKER_02: They just kind of want to expand their philosophical influence like that.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: They're also not just spanning from the primordial chaos like other infernals.
- 6:45SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: So lesser Ugaloths reproduce hermaphroditically.
- 6:50SPEAKER_02: One doing the fertilizing and one carrying the young.
- 6:53SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: Love it.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: Greater Ugaloths reproduce asexually.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 6:58SPEAKER_02: Also love it.
- 6:59SPEAKER_02: Just kind of fertilizing themselves.
- 7:01SPEAKER_03: So like the powerful they are.
- 7:05SPEAKER_03: They don't need to fuck.
- 7:07SPEAKER_04: They're they're above sexual design.
- 7:12SPEAKER_03: That's bizarre.
- 7:15SPEAKER_04: Please tell me, is there is is does does it go into detail about how they reproduce asexually?
- 7:20SPEAKER_04: Please tell me it does.
- 7:21SPEAKER_04: Um please tell me they bud.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: I don't believe they bud.
- 7:25SPEAKER_04: I I want them to bud.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: I believe it is a form of self-fertilization.
- 7:30SPEAKER_02: Aww.
- 7:31SPEAKER_02: I mean I mean they have to fertilize when they're lesser.
- 7:34SPEAKER_02: Why would that not translate into when they're greater as well?
- 7:37SPEAKER_04: I mean, to be fair, like with a lot of these like infernal evil beings, a lot of the bets are off kind of That's true.
- 7:45SPEAKER_04: And the boy howdy the the Oberiths were like a completely different sort of thing than the Tanarees.
- 7:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the Oberiths they operated on different rules.
- 7:58SPEAKER_02: Basically just came from the chaos and then created the Tanaree from stuff.
- 8:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:05SPEAKER_04: So, you know, I mean maybe greater Ugaloths operate on a different I want them to bud.
- 8:10SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry.
- 8:11SPEAKER_04: None of them bud.
- 8:12SPEAKER_04: I just want a tiny little crush your dreams.
- 8:15SPEAKER_04: I just want a little a a big old demon with a tiny version of himself just growing out of his shoulder.
- 8:20SPEAKER_04: It's like, hey!
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: I promise you, if I find anything that in DD that buds, I'll do an episode for you.
- 8:27SPEAKER_02: Thanks.
- 8:28SPEAKER_02: Other than mushrooms, because I'm pretty sure they did they did.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: I love I love budding.
- 8:33SPEAKER_04: It's my favorite form of asexual reproduction.
- 8:36SPEAKER_02: Unfortunately, this is just auto-fertilization.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Anyways.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: Whatever.
- 8:40SPEAKER_02: Uh so they're also capable of producing half fines and tieflings.
- 8:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, cool, great.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: Why not?
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: That being said, reproduction was general was generally pretty greatly regulated so as not to fill their ranks with inexperienced young and unsure that the populace achieved perfection.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that sounds about right.
- 8:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: And I'm pretty sure unless it was for a greater purpose to fuel evil, half beans and chieflings would be locked down upon as spawning.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: Because like, why would you do that?
- 9:09SPEAKER_02: Unless it's to fulfill your greater need to do something.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 9:14SPEAKER_03: Their whole greater need nonsense.
- 9:17SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: Um, like most infernals, they exclusively ate meat, preferably the living or recently living kind.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: Dang, I got fresh.
- 9:26SPEAKER_02: And supposedly the lesser ugolaths enjoyed the taste of fear.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: Greater ugoloths were above such things, or so they said.
- 9:34SPEAKER_03: So the greater ones eat meat.
- 9:39SPEAKER_03: Lesser ones eat fear.
- 9:41SPEAKER_04: Well, they eat meat, but the fear is flavoring.
- 9:45SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 9:45SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay, right, right, right.
- 9:46SPEAKER_04: They have to like kill them.
- 9:50SPEAKER_03: They have to soak up fear before.
- 9:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:53SPEAKER_04: So the the Marinate.
- 9:55SPEAKER_03: There we go.
- 9:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, marinate.
- 9:56SPEAKER_04: So the greater the greater Yugolots had to eat something that was like chill about dying.
- 10:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, or like they just didn't care how what it tasted like.
- 10:04unknown: Oh.
- 10:05SPEAKER_04: As long as it was fresh.
- 10:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah, pretty much.
- 10:08SPEAKER_02: They could even eat rotted meat, but they preferred fat fresh.
- 10:12SPEAKER_04: Well, you'd think at that point they would have risen above having personal preferences, but you know.
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: They're not perfect.
- 10:18SPEAKER_04: Pobody's nerfe.
- 10:20SPEAKER_02: Pobody's nerfic title in this episode.
- 10:22SPEAKER_03: Oh god.
- 10:23SPEAKER_03: Well.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: So you go actually had personal lives, which is really odd for infernals.
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 10:33SPEAKER_02: So they were frequently required to put them aside for the societal focus of enhancing evil.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry, perfection.
- 10:41SPEAKER_02: And at the demands of their superiors, obviously.
- 10:44SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 10:45SPEAKER_02: Uh the structure appears to be somewhat feudal and heavily outlined, but it's not stable.
- 10:51SPEAKER_02: Uh scheming and manipulation to one's ends were literally a way of life and not simply just accepted, but embraced.
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: Bang.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: Yugaloths were split into casts and oh great.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: Love it.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: Love a good cast.
- 11:07SPEAKER_02: I mean, just two, lesser and greater, based on their physical and mental journey through evil.
- 11:11SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry, perfection.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 11:13SPEAKER_03: Sorry, you slipped up there.
- 11:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, my bad.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:16SPEAKER_02: At the center of Yugaloth culture was their ability to be cunning, and their society revered it in those who exemplified it.
- 11:23SPEAKER_02: Fair, fair enough.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: So instead of like with the devils where their society exemplified law and structure and subjugation and demons where their society exemplified chaos and destruction.
- 11:40SPEAKER_02: Might makes right.
- 11:42SPEAKER_02: That sort of thing.
- 11:43SPEAKER_02: They just if you could figure a way out to get it, and you deserved it.
- 11:49SPEAKER_02: That's how Eugolas felt.
- 11:51SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 11:52SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's not necessarily might makes right, but brain makes right.
- 11:57SPEAKER_03: Yeah, just like if you can get it, it's yours, basically.
- 12:01SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 12:02SPEAKER_03: Okay, I mean that makes sense.
- 12:04SPEAKER_02: Um a lot of these accounts come from either uh the Planescapes, Faces of Evil the Fiends, or the 5th edition uh monster manual, or um, oh shoot, there was a there's a third one.
- 12:17SPEAKER_02: Uh Monsters Compendion, the Outer Plains.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: But like there's uh other stuff sprinkled in here, but most of this information is gonna come from those three.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: Got it.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: Uh on the Faces of Evil the Fiends, it's written as kind of a guidebook full of first-hand accounts of dealing with infernals.
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: Oh, nice.
- 12:32SPEAKER_02: It is it's really nice.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: I choose to highly recommend it.
- 12:35SPEAKER_02: I've used it for this entire series, but I want to read this quote directly from it.
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: It really nails the eaglocks.
- 12:43SPEAKER_02: How do they become so devious, so callous?
- 12:46SPEAKER_02: Imagine, dear reader, that your closest friend, the being that you trust most in the entire world, is suddenly revealed to have been moulding you to his needs and his goals all along.
- 12:54SPEAKER_02: How do you react?
- 12:56SPEAKER_02: With shock and dismay, certainly, with self-loathing for letting yourself be fooled, and you resolve not to let the same mistake be made again the next time you choose to be friend.
- 13:06SPEAKER_02: But it happens again and again, over and over until you become untrusting, using others to see if they have the integrity to treat you as you deserve.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: By then, of course, you can clearly see how much smarter you are than everyone else, how you can manipulate others to your ends, and then you discover, once again, that you've been molded.
- 13:24SPEAKER_02: The evolution continues.
- 13:26SPEAKER_02: Though you see the pattern, indeed, though you you set the pattern all around you, you come to realize that there's something greater.
- 13:32SPEAKER_02: You feel no passion for your inferiors.
- 13:34SPEAKER_02: They can and should be nothing but your unwitting pawns.
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: Now you look to control the thing that controls you.
- 13:41SPEAKER_02: So it is with the Ugaloths.
- 13:46SPEAKER_04: Dang.
- 13:46SPEAKER_03: Jesus.
- 13:47SPEAKER_04: That's um yeah, that's evocative.
- 13:51SPEAKER_04: That's for sure.
- 13:52SPEAKER_03: And again, I love books that are written like that.
- 13:56SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
- 13:56SPEAKER_03: Like, with all the lore in it just written as first hand accounts.
- 14:01SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: I love firsthand accounts.
- 14:03SPEAKER_02: Planescape was really good at that.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: Honestly, like for all the shit I give Planescape sometimes, and like the fact that sometimes people need it to go through and like what they lack in spelling.
- 14:12SPEAKER_02: What they lack in spelling.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: It's beautiful, and so many of the books are written as first hand accounts.
- 14:18SPEAKER_04: Suburbiage.
- 14:19SPEAKER_04: Ah.
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: Chef's kiss.
- 14:21SPEAKER_02: It it's something that I have not seen very much in tabletop gaming, and I love it.
- 14:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 14:29SPEAKER_02: Um so let's just jump right into the different Ugloth types.
- 14:33SPEAKER_02: So as I mentioned, Ugaloths were split into two casts, lesser and greater.
- 14:37SPEAKER_02: Lesser Ugaloths reproduce uh reproduce hermaphroditically, and no matter what rank within the cast, they are always born as the lowest rank.
- 14:45SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: Mezzaloths.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 14:49SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 14:49SPEAKER_03: Just making sure I heard that, yeah.
- 14:53SPEAKER_02: So mesoloths are seven foot tall, dark, humanoid insect-looking assholes, weighing about 250 pounds with a dense exoskeleton.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 15:03SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: They have four arms with sharp claws and glowing red eyes.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 15:10SPEAKER_02: They kind of serve as foot soldiers once they reach adulthood.
- 15:14SPEAKER_04: I love how that's like the bottom of their ladder.
- 15:17SPEAKER_04: And it's still like the strong-ass seven-foot-tall insect motherfucker.
- 15:22SPEAKER_02: They also have toxic fumes that they can exhale.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: Holy shit.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: Magic resistance, resistance to cold, fire, lightning, and immunity from acid and poison.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: Thankfully, mezzalots were simplistic beings driven by the core principles of violence and reward.
- 15:37SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 15:37SPEAKER_04: Okay, so there's the there's the weakness there.
- 15:40SPEAKER_04: They're not necessarily very smart.
- 15:41SPEAKER_04: No.
- 15:42SPEAKER_04: Got it.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: I can't remember exactly what their intelligence stat is, but it's not good.
- 15:47SPEAKER_03: It's uh it's pretty low there.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:50SPEAKER_03: It's gonna dip down into the like twos.
- 15:53SPEAKER_02: Actually, I kind of have it open in the other side.
- 15:55SPEAKER_04: Okay, maybe not two.
- 15:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't, it doesn't sound like they would be.
- 15:58SPEAKER_04: Uh seven.
- 15:59SPEAKER_04: Seven.
- 16:00SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 16:00SPEAKER_04: I'm still.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: They're intelligent beings, but they're not intelligent beings, you know.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: I getcha.
- 16:06SPEAKER_03: I don't know why my brain just immediately went like they're dumb as hell.
- 16:09SPEAKER_03: Two.
- 16:10SPEAKER_04: That's uh that's very low.
- 16:12SPEAKER_04: That's almost lower than some demons.
- 16:14SPEAKER_04: That's lower than that's lower than the Tarask, I think.
- 16:18SPEAKER_04: Maybe.
- 16:19SPEAKER_04: I think the Tarask got a three.
- 16:21SPEAKER_03: So So yeah.
- 16:23SPEAKER_03: And they're not that dumb.
- 16:24SPEAKER_03: They are demons, so yeah.
- 16:26SPEAKER_03: Seven.
- 16:27SPEAKER_02: So from there, Ugaloths go through a process of purification.
- 16:32SPEAKER_02: Obviously, only the strong and perfection seeking need apply.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: Once the Mezzaloth is ready, and once the superiors think that they're ready, they begin the process of physically stripping away the Ugoloth's living shell.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 16:44SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say I I knew something was gonna happen with that exoskeleton.
- 16:48SPEAKER_04: Like they were gonna molt or something.
- 16:50SPEAKER_02: Releasing it until its new form rises.
- 16:53SPEAKER_02: Prince and repeat for every promotion.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: It's not just the ones with exoskeletons.
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, great.
- 16:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: I great.
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: Love that.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: Um, the first hand account in that book, by the way, said that this was such a horrifying sight to see that they still have nightmares from it.
- 17:08SPEAKER_02: Just FYI.
- 17:09SPEAKER_02: Great.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: So Wow.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: Next up is the Dergoloth, which is another insect-like base, but with this confusing tripod leg setup with a barrel chest and five arms with clawed hands.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, and it could rapidly swivel in any direction, a full 360 degrees.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: It's a helicopter.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: It's a helicopter.
- 17:33SPEAKER_04: Just five arms.
- 17:34SPEAKER_04: Just give him a little poncho and he'd be a helicopter.
- 17:39SPEAKER_03: What the hell?
- 17:40SPEAKER_04: That sounds like that sounds like something that I made in Spore when I was young.
- 17:45SPEAKER_04: Remember Spore Guys?
- 17:46SPEAKER_03: I do remember Spore.
- 17:47SPEAKER_03: I played it in Oxford too long ago.
- 17:50SPEAKER_04: I played a lot of spore.
- 17:51SPEAKER_04: It's bad, y'all.
- 17:52SPEAKER_04: That sounds bad.
- 17:54SPEAKER_02: They were kind of mantis-like in appearance in their face with like multi mottled green coloring and red bug eyes.
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: But Dirgaloths not only looked stupid, they were stupid stupid and stubborn.
- 18:10SPEAKER_02: Only fighting when compelled to by a more powerful being or promised the chance to slaughter in the near future.
- 18:16SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 18:17SPEAKER_02: They were incredibly sadistic and laughed maniacally when they uh spilled blood.
- 18:22SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 18:24SPEAKER_04: Did they get more stupid from their previous?
- 18:27SPEAKER_03: I was gonna say, did like it almost sounds like their evolution dipped a little bit?
- 18:34SPEAKER_03: Dipped a little, yeah, they kind of like went down just a wee bit.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: And honestly, um no, we just don't understand their grand vision, Travis.
- 18:43SPEAKER_03: Ah, right, of course.
- 18:45SPEAKER_02: Uh no, their intelligence was actually the same.
- 18:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 18:48SPEAKER_02: An intelligence of seven.
- 18:49SPEAKER_02: Uh, but they got better at fighting.
- 18:51unknown: Oh.
- 18:52SPEAKER_02: And they they weren't as driven by f to fight.
- 18:57SPEAKER_02: So got it.
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: They got a little bit wiser, I suppose.
- 19:02SPEAKER_04: Not necessarily any smarter, but like a little bit wiser or more stubborn, it sounds.
- 19:07SPEAKER_02: So again, repeat.
- 19:09SPEAKER_02: Repeat the process of promotion and purification.
- 19:12SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 19:13SPEAKER_04: You mean ripping off the whole body?
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 19:16SPEAKER_04: One by one piece by piece.
- 19:18SPEAKER_04: Just wanted to make sure we're on the same page.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: And then from the ashes or pieces of exoskeleton rises the piscaloth.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: Which appears to be just like a mishmash of marine creatures.
- 19:30SPEAKER_04: Travis and I are mature adults.
- 19:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I couldn't.
- 19:34SPEAKER_04: Okay, I get it.
- 19:34SPEAKER_04: I get it, because it's like it's like pie sign, like a fish.
- 19:38SPEAKER_04: But like piss.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: So it's a mismash of marine creatures.
- 19:45SPEAKER_03: Marine creatures.
- 19:46SPEAKER_02: It's so it's only like five feet tall, but it has these horrible mouth tentacles.
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: Oh my Davy Jones.
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: Huge fat and huge faceted eyes that bulge out of their heads on the side, you know, kind of like shrimp.
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: Uh they had red or purple chitiness bodies like lobsters.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: Uh huge pincers on their humanoid arms, and long fishy tails.
- 20:10SPEAKER_04: You know, I can I can this sounds like one of David Jones' crew.
- 20:12SPEAKER_04: It does.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: You can dig it.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:14SPEAKER_02: I feel like you'd like to do it.
- 20:16SPEAKER_03: It also kind of sounds like what Pokemon did with the fossil Pokemon and Sword and Shield.
- 20:24SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 20:24SPEAKER_04: They're just a little miss.
- 20:25SPEAKER_04: It's like if Barbarical was a fossil.
- 20:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 20:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 20:30SPEAKER_04: Oh man.
- 20:31SPEAKER_04: I like them.
- 20:31SPEAKER_04: I mean, I do like them just because they have piss in their name.
- 20:34SPEAKER_02: Unfortunately, they're not in 5e, but they are in 4E.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: Um, who even plays 4E?
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: Well.
- 20:41SPEAKER_04: I mean, it probably I mean, it it really would probably not be the hardest thing in the world to adapt them, let's be real with you.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: Mostly I was saying that so I could tell you that their four fourth edition art is very good, top tier.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: Oh, swag.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: Anyways.
- 20:54SPEAKER_04: A lot of the art in fourth edition is really good.
- 20:56SPEAKER_04: I know I've said that before, but that is one area I feel like fourth edition shines is the art.
- 21:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:00SPEAKER_04: It's probably the only area it shines.
- 21:02SPEAKER_02: So they were capable of injecting uh lethal paralytic venom uh into their victims and a whole host of magical abilities like Blink, Sea Invisibility, and Phantasmal Killer.
- 21:14SPEAKER_03: Oh shit! Jesus.
- 21:16SPEAKER_03: Oh, that's fun.
- 21:17SPEAKER_03: One of these things is not like the other.
- 21:20SPEAKER_02: Piscalots were not only sadistic bullies, but also slavering sycophants, tyrannically lording over those beneath them.
- 21:28SPEAKER_03: Dang.
- 21:29SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: They were also pretty easy to bribe.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: I wonder to betray.
- 21:34SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 21:35SPEAKER_04: I wonder if they could see a lot of colors like shrimp do.
- 21:38SPEAKER_04: Because I'm assuming that the sea invisibility is maybe like a nod to It could be.
- 21:43SPEAKER_04: They're like like mantis shrimp kind of.
- 21:45SPEAKER_02: I'll be honest, I kind of just took took some of my favorites for each thing and talked to talk about because they have a lot of abilities.
- 21:52SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and I mean that makes sense, especially given how they sort of advance, I guess.
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well, I mean, to be fair.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Fair, the uh bottom rung had all those like resistances and abilities and stuff.
- 22:05SPEAKER_04: So you're gonna have to start doing crazy stuff when you move up, you know.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: Pretty much.
- 22:10SPEAKER_02: So next up is the Hydroloth, also known to me as the Damon Toad of My Nightmares.
- 22:17SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: It's just a giant spiky toad daemon covered in mucus with angry yellow toad eyes and weird guiding flaps to help it glide through water and air.
- 22:27SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 22:28SPEAKER_02: Okay, could fly.
- 22:30SPEAKER_02: It's a f it's a it's a flying spiky toad.
- 22:33SPEAKER_03: Um, can you spell that for me?
- 22:34SPEAKER_03: Because I have to see a picture of this now.
- 22:36SPEAKER_02: H-Y-D-R-O-L-O-T-H.
- 22:39SPEAKER_02: Hydroloth.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: See, you said Google at your own safety, please.
- 22:44SPEAKER_02: I I would I know the saying is risk, but don't do it when it's risky.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: Just Google when it's safe.
- 22:49SPEAKER_03: That I mean, yeah, that's a spiky toad with flap flaps.
- 22:56SPEAKER_03: Flaps.
- 22:58SPEAKER_03: It's grandpa flap-flaps.
- 22:59SPEAKER_04: It's uh it's uh it's a relative of the the manta ray instead of a C flap-flap, it's a uh hell flap-flap.
- 23:06SPEAKER_04: It's a hell flap-flap.
- 23:07SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 23:08SPEAKER_02: It's a hell flap-flap.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: Um so hydroloths have transitioned from, you know, offers a power what swaying them.
- 23:16SPEAKER_02: Now they want information and trading goods, and they love to come up with schemes to promote themselves to higher wealth and power.
- 23:24SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
- 23:25SPEAKER_03: So they're pretty much the do whatever I can, however I can to get promoted.
- 23:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, very underhanded about it.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know, I mean, they're kind of they're kind of gross, but they're not bad.
- 23:39SPEAKER_04: I don't think it's any worse than the propeller a few uh rungs down.
- 23:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:46SPEAKER_04: See, and but you said you I made a face.
- 23:49SPEAKER_04: You could you couldn't see it, but Taylor saw it.
- 23:51SPEAKER_04: I made a face when you said hydra, because I thought we were gonna go in like a Greek hydra direction, and then it's like Hydro.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: Hydro, yeah.
- 23:59SPEAKER_04: And then it's like, no, it's just an angry frog.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: It's just an angry toad, dude.
- 24:02SPEAKER_02: So next up we have the Yagnoloths, and Yagnoloths were okay, a lot of these things were weird, but these were really weird.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: They are 10 to 15 foot tall humanoids covered in red scales with hilariously small skeletal heads, faces described in D and D as simply being ugly, and large ears that look like bowings.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: They're quite a treat to observe.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 24:30SPEAKER_03: Okay, I am not doing great at spelling today for whatever reason.
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: Uh Y-A-G-N-O-L-O-T-H.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 24:41SPEAKER_04: They came up when I Googled the um the Hydroloths.
- 24:44SPEAKER_04: One of them came up, and I was like, is this a weird version where they tried to make this this demonic creature.
- 24:51SPEAKER_04: You're talking about that one.
- 24:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but like a sexy dude.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, hold on before you keep talking.
- 24:57SPEAKER_02: Let me get finishing.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 24:59SPEAKER_02: No, you're fine.
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: They were uneven with relatively proportioned right a relatively proportioned right arm and a massive, monstrously oversized left arm.
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: Go ahead and make your jokes here.
- 25:11SPEAKER_04: Dang it, I was gonna make a joke, and then you Now I don't want to.
- 25:15SPEAKER_03: Um well, it's clearly a lefty.
- 25:17SPEAKER_04: Thank you.
- 25:18SPEAKER_04: Thank you, Travis.
- 25:19SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry that I have in my notes that I need to get through.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 25:25SPEAKER_04: How dare you?
- 25:26SPEAKER_04: Stop jumping ahead.
- 25:28SPEAKER_04: Travis made my joke for me.
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: He was just a little less uh less crude about it.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Well, go go ahead, make your joke.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: I said jokes, plural.
- 25:37SPEAKER_04: You know what, chan they used to jack off.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: That's all I was gonna say.
- 25:41SPEAKER_04: Travis is classier about it.
- 25:43SPEAKER_02: Uh so they sometimes wore a cape to disguise either of their arms, depending on which one they were more ashamed of.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: What just depended on the Yagnala.
- 25:56SPEAKER_03: So they would hide an arm.
- 26:00SPEAKER_04: They're either they like they want to disguise their big arm for some reason, or they're ashamed of their little arm.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: What's funny is like either one looks okay.
- 26:12SPEAKER_02: One is a little one side's a little ape-like.
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: The other one just like it looks like pretty like normal, but like when you have them both, it just looks like he has a baby arm.
- 26:23SPEAKER_03: It's so fucking weird though.
- 26:26SPEAKER_03: Like, oh yeah, it's great.
- 26:31SPEAKER_03: Also, I love the little like book that it has hanging in front of its genitals.
- 26:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:36SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 26:36SPEAKER_03: In the picture, like good one clothes.
- 26:39SPEAKER_04: How did how did the left arm get so big if if that book can hide it?
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: It didn't need to be that big.
- 26:47SPEAKER_04: Oh there we go.
- 26:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, maybe Oh, oh well, you know, they're they're like hermaphroditic, so maybe they just have like a little cloaca setup.
- 26:56SPEAKER_04: Maybe that's why.
- 26:57SPEAKER_04: It's just like up in there.
- 26:58SPEAKER_04: Anyway.
- 26:59SPEAKER_03: Oh, I forgot that they were hermaphroditic.
- 27:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: So uh Yagnoloths were corrupt and selfish and constantly abused their positions of authority.
- 27:08SPEAKER_02: Uh, in addition to their size and power, they also have an ability to drain life force to the point of potentially killing opponents.
- 27:16SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 27:17SPEAKER_04: How did they do that?
- 27:18SPEAKER_04: By like touching them or um magics?
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: It's kind of like a um yeah, it's a touching on their head to incapacitate, and then they could sap the vitality.
- 27:29SPEAKER_04: Cool.
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: Love that.
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: Interesting.
- 27:31SPEAKER_04: Love that, I mean, I hate that.
- 27:33SPEAKER_03: I mean I also hate it, but it's also kind of interesting.
- 27:38SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 27:38SPEAKER_03: Maybe I'm the weird one here.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: I mean you're the DM.
- 27:40SPEAKER_04: I wonder I wonder if they have different reach with each of their arms.
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: Almost certainly.
- 27:45SPEAKER_04: Like they have a ten-foot reach with their left arm and then a right foot reach with their five arms.
- 27:51SPEAKER_04: With their five arm.
- 27:53SPEAKER_04: They have a five-foot reach with their uh right arm.
- 27:55SPEAKER_04: Was it were they all like that?
- 27:57SPEAKER_04: Like with the left arm and then the it wasn't like No, it's not just one preference.
- 28:01SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 28:02SPEAKER_04: It's not it's not actually like their laterality.
- 28:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:05SPEAKER_04: They're just kind of that way.
- 28:06SPEAKER_04: Got it.
- 28:07SPEAKER_02: Um they were also incredibly indulgent and slothful.
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: We know attempting to avoid any form of work for as long as possible.
- 28:15SPEAKER_02: Big mood.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: While reaping the rewards of those beneath them.
- 28:18SPEAKER_02: So they were also capable of being incredibly cunning.
- 28:21unknown: Yeah.
- 28:21SPEAKER_02: This is kind of where it starts to ramp up.
- 28:23SPEAKER_04: Really the the emphasis on the cunning, the underhandedness.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 28:27SPEAKER_04: Underhandedness.
- 28:30SPEAKER_04: God damn it.
- 28:31SPEAKER_04: God damn it.
- 28:32SPEAKER_04: I knew that this this was I'm coughing because I legitimately almost did a spit tank earlier.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: Well, whoever gets to take home that arm during the purification process must be uh really happy.
- 28:44SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, that could feed a whole family.
- 28:46SPEAKER_02: Uh so though Oh, do they eat each other?
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 28:50SPEAKER_02: I don't think so, but I don't know.
- 28:52SPEAKER_04: I hope they I hope they do.
- 28:54SPEAKER_04: That feels like a weird thing to say.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: More on that later.
- 28:56SPEAKER_02: Oh! Yay! So actually, I don't want to touch on this too much because it doesn't directly relate to um specifically the Ugalots, but there is a thing in the Planescape that um basically says that the only way to truly ever kill any fiendish creature is to basically consume them.
- 29:20SPEAKER_02: Cool.
- 29:21SPEAKER_02: Specifically for them to be consumed by another fiendish creature.
- 29:25SPEAKER_02: So if you ever really want to get rid of somebody, feed it to a fiend?
- 29:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 29:32SPEAKER_04: That well hmm.
- 29:34SPEAKER_04: And then at the end, they're just like Okay, you'd have one fiend left, and they're just like the the fiend.
- 29:40SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 29:40SPEAKER_04: Because they ate everybody else.
- 29:42SPEAKER_03: Does it end up being like a stray where you feed it once and then it just kind of continues to come back?
- 29:48SPEAKER_03: Oh god.
- 29:49SPEAKER_03: Because if that ends up being the case, I think I will pass.
- 29:53SPEAKER_03: I cannot take care of a fiend.
- 29:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 29:56SPEAKER_02: Oh, that's how they're smart.
- 29:58SPEAKER_04: I am not sure.
- 29:58SPEAKER_04: That's how they could get you, is they could make like a fiend that looks like a cute little stray dog.
- 30:02SPEAKER_04: That's how they would get me.
- 30:04SPEAKER_04: That's yeah, same.
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: And then you just keep any of the seductive ones, not the ones that offer me power.
- 30:09SPEAKER_04: Oh, I mean the seductive ones could get me too, but the puppy would really get me.
- 30:13SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 30:13unknown: But the puppy.
- 30:14SPEAKER_02: So the final of the lesser Ugloths is the Marinoloths, and they were in charge of piloting the boats that sailed the river sticks.
- 30:21SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 30:22SPEAKER_02: They appeared as pale, skeletal, and stood at about five feet and wore rotted hooded robes.
- 30:28SPEAKER_02: Their eyes glowed red.
- 30:29SPEAKER_02: They were very much ca uh Carolana Greek mythos lore vibe going on.
- 30:35SPEAKER_04: Well, Taran wasn't like a bad guy.
- 30:38SPEAKER_02: No, but the appearance specifically.
- 30:41SPEAKER_04: Got it.
- 30:42SPEAKER_02: Uh I said that's why I said vibes.
- 30:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, gotcha, gotcha.
- 30:45SPEAKER_03: Got them vibes going.
- 30:47SPEAKER_02: They had mostly risen above.
- 30:48SPEAKER_02: Oh man, impeccable vibes.
- 30:49SPEAKER_02: They had risen above like most emotions and had a very neutral outlook, except for when they were angered mode.
- 30:56SPEAKER_03: What happened when they were angered?
- 30:58SPEAKER_02: Well, their eyes would glow even brighter red, and they would get very angry and kill you.
- 31:03SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 31:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:04SPEAKER_03: Well, that's cool.
- 31:07SPEAKER_02: Basically, they don't have emotions except for rage.
- 31:10SPEAKER_03: That's neat.
- 31:11SPEAKER_02: So they did not excel in combat, other than occasionally raging.
- 31:16SPEAKER_02: Um, but they could supernaturally possess any ship and could command and summon other lesser Ugalots.
- 31:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they can command and possess.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: Possess.
- 31:27SPEAKER_03: The possessing thing, I'm like, wait.
- 31:30SPEAKER_02: Basically Boat boat demons, boat ghosts.
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: They boat ghosts.
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: It's not like they would get inside the ship, but they could control the ship and the winds around it.
- 31:39SPEAKER_03: Aww.
- 31:40SPEAKER_02: I'm sorry.
- 31:41SPEAKER_02: Boat ghosts.
- 31:42SPEAKER_03: Still pretty cool though.
- 31:43SPEAKER_03: I mean, like boat ghost.
- 31:45SPEAKER_02: Boat ghost, yes.
- 31:47SPEAKER_03: Boat ghost.
- 31:48SPEAKER_02: Well, with the boat ghost.
- 31:50SPEAKER_02: We're gonna take a real quick break.
- 31:52SPEAKER_02: Hey.
- 31:53SPEAKER_04: Let's uh steer away from this topic of conversation.
- 31:56SPEAKER_02: That would have been so good.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: God damn it.
- 31:58SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: No, it's okay, thank you.
- 32:02SPEAKER_02: Hey everybody, thank you so much for listening to our Yugaloth episode.
- 32:06SPEAKER_04: It's uh Boat Ghost.
- 32:08SPEAKER_04: Boat Ghost.
- 32:09SPEAKER_02: Boat Ghost, yes.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: Our boat ghost episode.
- 32:11SPEAKER_02: I know.

- 35:04SPEAKER_04: Tell your family, hey, did you know that there's something that's actually more evil than a demon or a devil?
- 35:12SPEAKER_02: Just go tell your mom.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, just go tell your mom that it'll be great.
- 35:15SPEAKER_04: You she probably doesn't know.
- 35:17SPEAKER_04: If she does know, you've got a real cool mom, though.
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: Ten out of ten, best mom ever.
- 35:22SPEAKER_04: Ten out of ten, best musician ever, is Alexander Nakarata, who made our theme song Blacksmith.
- 35:28SPEAKER_04: Oh, it's been so long.
- 35:29SPEAKER_01: It feels so good.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: Listen to that.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: Give that a good listen to.
- 35:33SPEAKER_03: It's nice.
- 35:34SPEAKER_01: Like I have been ever since we've been back.
- 35:36SPEAKER_03: Anyway, now that we've got all that lovely, fun stuff uh sorted and taken care of, let's get back to Ugaloth.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: The Boat Ghost?
- 35:45SPEAKER_01: No, I'm sorry, the Boat Ghost is over.
- 35:47SPEAKER_03: No, we're skipping over Boat Ghost now.
- 35:49SPEAKER_03: Oh, he's gone.
- 35:52SPEAKER_03: Alright.
- 35:53SPEAKER_03: Getting away from the boat ghost.
- 35:55SPEAKER_03: What else do you have for us?
- 35:57SPEAKER_02: So we are now at the first of the greater Ugaloths.
- 36:00SPEAKER_02: We have gone up a cast.
- 36:01SPEAKER_02: The big boys.
- 36:03SPEAKER_02: Uh, this is the Nycoloth, and it was a big fat gargoyle.
- 36:07SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 36:08SPEAKER_03: Yes, I love fat gargoyles.
- 36:10SPEAKER_03: Nice.
- 36:10SPEAKER_02: It's about eight feet tall, weighing eight hundred pounds, green and leathery with powerful bat wings.
- 36:17SPEAKER_03: Oh my.
- 36:18SPEAKER_02: Uh typically cruel in calculating, but they had a lot more resentment than the Marinloth Marinoloths below them, due to being the least of the greater Ugloths.
- 36:27SPEAKER_03: Um I mean, dude, you're still part of the upper cast, like just take it and deal with it.
- 36:34SPEAKER_04: No, I mean, I kinda I kind of get it.
- 36:36SPEAKER_02: Because I I feel like it it is a little bit of a You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of master.
- 36:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
- 36:43SPEAKER_04: Like and and you know, you maybe would m would move and okay, this is this is a part of their promotion, right?
- 36:50SPEAKER_04: So like a Maranoloth could become a Yeah, a Nycoloth.
- 36:53SPEAKER_04: Okay, got it.
- 36:54SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:55SPEAKER_04: For some reason I keep forgetting that they're not two completely different species.
- 36:58SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 36:59SPEAKER_04: Quote unquote species.
- 37:01SPEAKER_02: Um, so real quick, um, I want to expand on that, but um first the Nycoloths are surprisingly powerful and fast and could travel to any of the lower out outer planes.
- 37:11SPEAKER_02: They kind of served as an elite air force for the Yugaloths.
- 37:14SPEAKER_02: Um interestingly, for Nycoloths, they part of their complex with being the lowest of the greater Ugloths is because the one above them, the arcanoloths.
- 37:28SPEAKER_02: Arcanoloths are um are really interesting because they're not the lowest tier, but the greater Ugloths, which reproduced asexually, always produce an arcanoloth.
- 37:40SPEAKER_02: So the only way you could be a Nycoloth is if you got promoted up.
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: But if you were born a greater Ugloth, you always started as an arcanoloth above a Nycoloth.
- 37:51SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 37:52SPEAKER_02: I get it.
- 37:53SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 37:53SPEAKER_02: Um, so the young arcanoloths were much more revered, sort of, and like carefully educated as they grew up and didn't have to claw their way to the top.
- 38:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's like when it's it's like when you get passed up for a promotion because your boss's kid just graduated college.
- 38:11SPEAKER_02: Pretty much, yeah.
- 38:13SPEAKER_02: So um arcanoloths, I think you're really going to like them though.
- 38:19SPEAKER_03: I have already looked it up and I already like it.
- 38:22SPEAKER_02: They are six-foot-tall humanoid jackals.
- 38:25SPEAKER_03: Yes.
- 38:26SPEAKER_02: Protruding from their canine heads are a pair of ivory horns.
- 38:30SPEAKER_02: They kept themselves very well kept and were masters of manipulation and charm.
- 38:35SPEAKER_04: Dang.
- 38:36SPEAKER_02: Uh, they were incredibly business-minded and kept to the truth when convenient.
- 38:41SPEAKER_02: They preferred to keep to the truth unless they wanted to manipulate you towards something.
- 38:45SPEAKER_02: And even then they might use the truth to manipulate you.
- 38:47SPEAKER_02: You know what?
- 38:48SPEAKER_02: I respect that.
- 38:49SPEAKER_02: They were excellent in both diplomacy and manipulation, whatever the situation required.
- 38:53SPEAKER_02: They were as greedy as the rest of the Yugolots, but instead of wealth and power, they longed for knowledge and secrets.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: They were keepers of accounts, records, and contracts.
- 39:04SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 39:05SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:05SPEAKER_03: I like I I do actually like them.
- 39:08SPEAKER_02: Like they're very intriguing.
- 39:10SPEAKER_03: Mm-hmm.
- 39:10SPEAKER_03: It's pretty cute.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: Also, like they're kind of cute.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: Obligatory Avatar the Last Terra reference.
- 39:16SPEAKER_04: They remind me of Wanshi Tong's little little fox guys.
- 39:20SPEAKER_02: His little foxy friends.
- 39:21SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 39:22SPEAKER_04: His little uh foxy assistants.
- 39:24SPEAKER_03: Oh man, I fucking love Washi Tong though.
- 39:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:27SPEAKER_04: Wanshi Tong could have been a Yugaloth.
- 39:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:30SPEAKER_03: Yeah?
- 39:31SPEAKER_03: I mean.
- 39:32SPEAKER_02: So next we are at the highest rank of greater Yugaloth, the Ultraloth.
- 39:39SPEAKER_04: Okay, they make sense given.
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, they had an alien John the Martian vibe.
- 39:44SPEAKER_02: Got bulbous heads without really any face, and their huge eyes.
- 39:50SPEAKER_02: Other than their huge eyes that looked like fire opals.
- 39:53SPEAKER_03: Oh my god.
- 39:55SPEAKER_03: They really are just very like Martian Manhunter.
- 39:59SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 39:59SPEAKER_03: Very alien-esque.
- 40:02SPEAKER_02: They had greener gray skin and were about six feet tall.
- 40:06SPEAKER_02: They could convince onlookers to view them as someone that they loved or admired.
- 40:11SPEAKER_02: Oh shit.
- 40:12SPEAKER_02: What is it?
- 40:13SPEAKER_02: Uh hypnotizing gaze.
- 40:15SPEAKER_04: Dang.
- 40:16SPEAKER_04: Beautiful.
- 40:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm pretty sure this is just like fantasy edit Martian Manhunter.
- 40:20SPEAKER_04: Their like their official fifth edition art literally just looks like like the cape and everything.
- 40:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 40:26SPEAKER_02: Ultraloths were schemers, manipulators, and plotters, and they held no loyalty to anyone, least of all to each other.
- 40:33SPEAKER_03: Oh shit.
- 40:33SPEAKER_03: Jesus.
- 40:34SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 40:34SPEAKER_02: They were constantly engaging in intricate battles of wits, uh, waging conspiracies and betraying everyone around them.
- 40:43SPEAKER_03: Wow.
- 40:43SPEAKER_02: Including their own patrons.
- 40:45SPEAKER_03: Oh shit.
- 40:47SPEAKER_03: Uh hey, you know?
- 40:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I mean Do what you got, I guess.
- 40:52SPEAKER_02: Uh their plots were designed only to further their own individual power and wealth, and while they were never considered themselves evil, they pursued perfection in all things.
- 41:02SPEAKER_04: Okay, so this is when they're really full of themselves this year.
- 41:06SPEAKER_03: Yeah, they are so very full of themselves now.
- 41:09SPEAKER_02: So ultraloths were dangerous spellcasters and possessed tons of innate and learned magical techniques.
- 41:17SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 41:18SPEAKER_02: Only magical weapons were capable of killing them or even harming them.
- 41:22SPEAKER_02: Um like I said, they had that gaze that could really fuck you up.
- 41:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:28SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: Ultraloths were also tougher than their than everyone beneath them, uh, resisting non-magical cold, electrical, and gases when other Ugaloths would be vulnerable to it.
- 41:40SPEAKER_02: Ultraloths were the elite leaders in Yugaloth armies and as well as just society in general.
- 41:47SPEAKER_02: And they roamed planes with their fiendish legion.
- 41:50SPEAKER_03: Ooh.
- 41:51SPEAKER_03: Their fiendish legion.
- 41:53SPEAKER_02: So let's quickly talk about some outliers in Ugaloth society.
- 41:58SPEAKER_04: Oh, I love outliers.
- 41:59SPEAKER_02: So first is the ultraloths.
- 42:02SPEAKER_02: Not ultraloth, ultraloth.
- 42:04SPEAKER_04: Common mistake.
- 42:05SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 42:05SPEAKER_02: An ultraloth was a Yugaloth of any type.
- 42:08SPEAKER_02: It could come from any Yugaloth that had been transformed into a unique being with a ritual known only to night hags.
- 42:17SPEAKER_02: Altraloths were cha changed very little mentally, but their physical form changed dramatically, and they gained powers in excess of the rest of their kind.
- 42:27SPEAKER_02: After they paid off their debt to the hags, because they then owed the hags quite tremendously.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:33SPEAKER_02: Uh they often rose to become rulers of their kind.
- 42:37SPEAKER_02: Okay, got it.
- 42:40SPEAKER_02: So do you want to know how to make an altraloth?
- 42:43SPEAKER_02: I would love to.
- 42:44SPEAKER_03: Um yes.
- 42:46SPEAKER_02: To begin the ritual, a cauldron was filled with water from rivers sticks, and with soul larva, a fire was built underneath that must be kept continually burning throughout the ceremony.
- 42:56SPEAKER_02: Doable.
- 42:56SPEAKER_02: Uh the ugoloth was sealed within the cauldron using wax derived from larva slime.
- 43:02SPEAKER_02: The cauldron was magically warded, and hags chanted arcane words for a full day for each alteration made.
- 43:08SPEAKER_02: Some of these chants were said to have taken a month or more to complete.
- 43:12SPEAKER_02: They must willingly give a portion of their life force in order to empower the ultraloth.
- 43:18SPEAKER_02: After chanting and the giving of life, the water must be kept boiling for another another six to thirty-six months.
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 43:25SPEAKER_02: While the Uvaloth absorbed the magic.
- 43:28SPEAKER_02: At the end of this time, the cauldron exploded violently, spraying caustic larva juice, amnesiac water from the river sticks, and razor sharp shards of cauldron all around the area.
- 43:39SPEAKER_02: Emerging from the the wreckage was an ultraloth, a unique champion of the night hags and of the Uvaloth race.
- 43:45SPEAKER_02: That's why there's no description of what they look like because they're unique.
- 43:48SPEAKER_03: They can so the night hags will chant to change different parts of your form whatever the hell they want it to look like.
- 43:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you're gonna have a Huge, you know, like two huge horns on your head, and it's gonna be super cool.
- 44:05SPEAKER_04: You're gonna have wings and you can fly.
- 44:07SPEAKER_04: You can have a yes, the magnum, whatever.
- 44:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, like so many things could go wrong, and if anything went wrong in the creation process, the Ugloth would die.
- 44:19SPEAKER_04: Rip.
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: Uh the resulting atroloth was bound to the night hag creators for the duration of its contract.
- 44:26SPEAKER_02: Um if it attacked the m its mistresses, it suffered racking pain.
- 44:30SPEAKER_02: If one of its mistresses died before the contract was complete, the ultraloth didn't get out of it.
- 44:35SPEAKER_02: The ultraloth would also die, giving it a strong incentive to protect its creators.
- 44:40SPEAKER_02: Oh dang.
- 44:40SPEAKER_04: Jesus.
- 44:41SPEAKER_04: Man, I wonder how much like that process would cost.
- 44:45SPEAKER_04: Because like there's a lot of labor involved.
- 44:47SPEAKER_04: Because it was pretty doable up till the six months to 36 months thing.
- 44:52SPEAKER_04: That'd be a little much, I think, for me.
- 44:53SPEAKER_04: And plus you lose your cauldron at the end of it.
- 44:56SPEAKER_03: So, like, you know, you better is a very long upkeep.
- 45:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:01SPEAKER_04: But I mean, for like a super powerful protector being that owes you a lot of money.
- 45:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:08SPEAKER_04: I mean Well, see, I'm assuming I'm saying that like it's money.
- 45:12SPEAKER_04: It might not even be money.
- 45:13SPEAKER_03: It owes you something.
- 45:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:15SPEAKER_04: So so this is this is a process that a Yugaloth would go to some night hags and be like, hey, I want you to make me super cool and strong.
- 45:27SPEAKER_04: And they'd be like, okay, that'll be one million dollars and your firstborn.
- 45:32SPEAKER_02: Let's say it'd mostly just be their unyielding service.
- 45:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 45:37SPEAKER_03: And your servitude for ever.
- 45:39SPEAKER_02: Alright, now go hop in the boiling cauldron.
- 45:41SPEAKER_02: You know, like And only the most strong could really survive.
- 45:45SPEAKER_02: Now, granted, the most strong at any rank, but Yeah, gotcha.
- 45:48SPEAKER_03: Just like, oh, by the way, this is gonna hurt.
- 45:51SPEAKER_02: So the General of Gehenna was said to have been an Altraloth.
- 45:56SPEAKER_02: He would basically, if the Eugoloths could be said to have a god, it would be the General of Gehenna.
- 46:01SPEAKER_02: He was an enigmatic being whose power was said to approach that of a demi deity.
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: He was able to kill gods.
- 46:09SPEAKER_02: Uh and he roamed between the layers of Gehenna.
- 46:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, that's not even special.
- 46:14SPEAKER_04: Gods die all the time.
- 46:16SPEAKER_02: I mean, I'm just saying.
- 46:18SPEAKER_02: So they did somewhat worship him.
- 46:20SPEAKER_04: Just it wasn't quite like Yeah.
- 46:24SPEAKER_04: Well, um, and maybe it was kind of like it's like Bahamut, like I mentioned in the last episode.
- 46:29SPEAKER_04: Like, even if some like a Yugaloth didn't strictly worship him, they probably still revered him.
- 46:35SPEAKER_02: Yes, um, speaking of revering, next up is the Barnaloths.
- 46:42SPEAKER_02: They are legendary loths of the grey wastes, devoid of any emotions.
- 46:48SPEAKER_02: They were said to have achieved perfection.
- 46:51SPEAKER_04: Dang.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: Um, they were as blank and passionless as the grey wastes themselves that they so revered.
- 47:00SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 47:00SPEAKER_02: Were they bears?
- 47:01SPEAKER_02: Um, they were not bears.
- 47:03SPEAKER_03: No, because it turns out it's not actually spelled bear.
- 47:07SPEAKER_04: No, it's B-A-E-R.
- 47:09SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 47:10SPEAKER_04: Dang.
- 47:10SPEAKER_04: I was hoping they'd just be these sad bears.
- 47:12SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry, that would be much cuter.
- 47:14SPEAKER_04: Well, they're not sad.
- 47:15SPEAKER_04: Very cocky, though.
- 47:16SPEAKER_04: Well, they're not sad because they don't have emotions, but you know what I mean.
- 47:19SPEAKER_02: Just like baronoloths were like these bronze, gangly fiends that stood at like eight feet and had these long, lanky limbs.
- 47:27SPEAKER_03: It's like a goat.
- 47:28SPEAKER_02: Their gray skin constantly dripped with puns pus pus.
- 47:32SPEAKER_02: Puns?
- 47:32SPEAKER_02: Puns.
- 47:33SPEAKER_02: Constantly dripped with puns, y'all.
- 47:35SPEAKER_02: Constantly dripped with pus and it was pulled really tight over their skeletons to the point where they looked almost skeletal.
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: Their oversized heads resembled the horned skulls of like cattle with glassy eyes that were like yellowed fluid.
- 47:52SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
- 47:52SPEAKER_04: It looks like a horse skull, actually.
- 47:54SPEAKER_04: Like a a horned horse, but not in a cute Pegasus kind of way.
- 48:00SPEAKER_02: Um they intentionally isolated themselves from Ugaloth society and lived as hermits.
- 48:06SPEAKER_02: Uh they served somewhat as a sort of council for the Ultraloth, an inspiration for young Ugaloth.
- 48:14SPEAKER_02: It is actually claimed that the Barnoloths created the Yugaloths and in turn the rest of fiendish kind.
- 48:21SPEAKER_03: Interesting.
- 48:22SPEAKER_02: Part of what makes Barnoloth so mystifying is because they are completely detached from the world around them.
- 48:31SPEAKER_02: They bring strife and anguish to others through horrible acts, devastating rumors, regardless of truth, spoiling plans, agonizing torture, and just generally worsening the world around them.
- 48:44SPEAKER_02: But they have no passion for it.
- 48:47SPEAKER_02: They just do it.
- 48:48SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 48:48SPEAKER_02: They spread misery as if they were machines.
- 48:52SPEAKER_02: And they have no interest in anything in anything.
- 48:56SPEAKER_02: I kind of commit their deeds without remorse or reluctance.
- 49:00SPEAKER_04: Dang.
- 49:00SPEAKER_04: I kind of love that actually, especially the idea of them being like a hermit that's like a like kind of an example.
- 49:07SPEAKER_04: Because I feel like it it kind of um it sort of reminds me of how some people like even if they're not into the lifestyle themselves, they kind of admire the commitment and like asceticism.
- 49:22SPEAKER_04: I don't know if that's the right word, of like monks.
- 49:24SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 49:24SPEAKER_04: Like it's like, wow, it's so it's so cool that you know they like feel that strongly, like, about their beliefs and the way they choose to live their lives, that they do this, that, and whatever, live away from people, you know, kind of kind of thing.
- 49:40SPEAKER_04: I think that it's kind of like that.
- 49:42SPEAKER_02: So finally, we have two titles.
- 49:46SPEAKER_02: These are unique in that only well, this one is one of them is unique in that only one of these exists at any given time.
- 49:55SPEAKER_04: Oh, cool.
- 49:55SPEAKER_04: I love titles.
- 49:56SPEAKER_02: So this is the Oinoloth, and it's the official leader of the Ugloths.
- 50:00SPEAKER_02: Always ultraloth, uh, they become changed by the title itself.
- 50:04SPEAKER_02: The Oinaloth's head kind of looks like a foaming gram that's been deformed by disease.
- 50:11SPEAKER_02: Ugh.
- 50:11SPEAKER_02: Um, their skin has been hideously sloughed off their bodies, and the wool that covered it was is like removed.
- 50:19SPEAKER_02: Oh, does Nayas?
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: Oh my god.
- 50:21SPEAKER_02: Unveiling their skin shows body errors shows bodies.
- 50:26SPEAKER_02: Unveiling their skin on their body shows boils and asters and their flesh just strung over their bones.
- 50:34SPEAKER_02: Oh, gross.
- 50:36SPEAKER_02: The being that becomes the oiloth is defigured by the loss of their skin and it has this incurable ailment for as long as they hold the title.
- 50:44SPEAKER_04: Why?
- 50:45SPEAKER_03: Why would you want that?
- 50:47SPEAKER_03: I figure anyone would become deformed from losing their skin.
- 50:51SPEAKER_03: It's fine.
- 50:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 50:52SPEAKER_04: Well, no, because I mean they've been losing their skin this entire time through this process.
- 50:56SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 50:57SPEAKER_04: They come out better, so yeah.
- 50:59SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's to achieve perfection, so.
- 51:02SPEAKER_02: Perfection as boils.
- 51:03SPEAKER_02: Perfectionist boils.
- 51:05SPEAKER_03: Perfectionist boils, apparently.
- 51:07SPEAKER_02: Um that's just in.
- 51:10SPEAKER_02: Then there's the rogue Ugaloths.
- 51:13SPEAKER_02: Ooh.
- 51:14SPEAKER_02: There can be many of these.
- 51:16SPEAKER_02: Um among all fiends, there are rogues that ignore the teachings of their own race in favor of others or their own beliefs.
- 51:25SPEAKER_04: Nice, love it.
- 51:26SPEAKER_02: Um, whether it's just becoming a new type of evil or even, God forbid, crossing the tide to good.
- 51:32SPEAKER_02: Oh shit.
- 51:33SPEAKER_03: No, don't do that.
- 51:34SPEAKER_02: So for Ugaloths, betraying their kin was not in and of itself going rogue because betrayal is part of their society.
- 51:45SPEAKER_02: What being rogue meant was embracing the tenets of anything else.
- 51:51SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 51:52SPEAKER_02: So even if a Ugaloth disagreed with a majority opinion, they weren't considered rogue, although they could get tortured till proven that their dangerous ideas were either worthy of merit or the ugoloth just recanted them.
- 52:07SPEAKER_02: Great.
- 52:08SPEAKER_02: Um, ugoloths that did things like that were so welcomed back, and even mutinies were tolerated.
- 52:14SPEAKER_02: Oh shit.
- 52:14SPEAKER_02: That's that's kind of funny.
- 52:16SPEAKER_02: But a Yugaloth is considered a true race traitor when they truly try to leave their kind and abandon their constant chasing at perfection.
- 52:26SPEAKER_02: And traitors were ruthlessly prosecuted and killed.
- 52:29SPEAKER_02: So much so that a rogue ugoloth might kill itself just to avoid being tortured that way.
- 52:36SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 52:37SPEAKER_03: Jesus.
- 52:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's like there's like a Yugoloth like kid.
- 52:41SPEAKER_04: He's being super nice to everybody else in school, and his parents are like, I'm worried about him.
- 52:46SPEAKER_04: He's not backstabbing his friends like we did when we were kids.
- 52:50SPEAKER_04: He's a rogue.
- 52:51SPEAKER_04: By the way, I'm cheating by the way, I'm cheating on you.
- 52:53SPEAKER_02: Oh good, me too.
- 52:58SPEAKER_02: Uh so Yugalots would actively hunt them down, even invading areas to kill one minor daemon.
- 53:06SPEAKER_02: Dang, really?
- 53:08SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 53:08SPEAKER_02: Some claim that this was because even lesser Yugaloths held deep, dark secrets about their race.
- 53:14SPEAKER_02: But others said it's just because they're so vindictive.
- 53:17SPEAKER_04: Oh dang.
- 53:18SPEAKER_04: That's interesting.
- 53:20SPEAKER_02: Regardless, because of this, they will uh a lot of rogues will simply kill themselves.
- 53:25SPEAKER_02: Dang.
- 53:26SPEAKER_02: That's depressing.
- 53:28SPEAKER_03: Hey, you know, if it's between that or like this horrible torture that I probably can't even begin to imagine.
- 53:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:35SPEAKER_02: Then yeah, I mean I mean, yeah.
- 53:38SPEAKER_02: Again, remember, these are supposedly the most evil creature in all the nine realms.
- 53:44SPEAKER_02: Which just makes that even I don't know where I got nine realms from.
- 53:48SPEAKER_02: What is that?
- 53:49SPEAKER_04: The the boxes.
- 53:51SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 53:52SPEAKER_02: Never mind.
- 53:53SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 53:54SPEAKER_03: The boxes.
- 53:55SPEAKER_01: The boxes.
- 53:56SPEAKER_04: You guys know?
- 53:57SPEAKER_04: The boxes!
- 53:58SPEAKER_01: The boxes.
- 53:59SPEAKER_04: I'm talking about the alignment chart.
- 54:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 54:02SPEAKER_04: Um, outer planes.
- 54:03SPEAKER_04: Outer planes.
- 54:04SPEAKER_04: Outer planes is the boxes.
- 54:06SPEAKER_04: Hey, listen, it's boxes.
- 54:09SPEAKER_04: It's boxes all the way down.
- 54:10SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's boxes all the way down, y'all.
- 54:12SPEAKER_02: Anyways, that's it for Ugaloths.
- 54:14SPEAKER_02: Dang that.
- 54:15SPEAKER_02: I have finished talking about the infernals.
- 54:20SPEAKER_04: All of them?
- 54:21SPEAKER_04: No.
- 54:22SPEAKER_04: Are you sure there's not?
- 54:24SPEAKER_02: There's more, and I'm not talking about them, and you can't make me.
- 54:27SPEAKER_02: In fact, even within the Yugaloths, there are so many fucking like creations that they made that aren't like a whole other way.
- 54:37SPEAKER_04: Straight, yeah, just like straightforward.
- 54:39SPEAKER_02: That like I I could probably talk about them for a whole episode, but like No, Taylor's done.
- 54:45SPEAKER_02: Well, okay, no, I'm unfortunately not done because you know what I have to fucking cover now?
- 54:49SPEAKER_02: Because I've been leading up to it basically.
- 54:51SPEAKER_04: If you if if it does get edited out somehow in post, Taylor's hitting the table with her with her fist.
- 54:57SPEAKER_04: With every word.
- 54:58SPEAKER_02: Do you know what I have to do now?
- 55:01SPEAKER_02: What?
- 55:02SPEAKER_02: The blood war.
- 55:03SPEAKER_04: I mean, you don't have to.
- 55:05SPEAKER_04: They didn't have to do the blood war.
- 55:07SPEAKER_04: They did, but they didn't have to do that.
- 55:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and now I'm fucked because now I have to cover their bullshit.
- 55:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, she has to do the blood war.
- 55:13SPEAKER_04: I mean, at some point somebody has to, and it's not gonna be me.
- 55:16SPEAKER_02: So it's gonna be me.
- 55:17SPEAKER_02: I know it.
- 55:17SPEAKER_02: It's fine.
- 55:18SPEAKER_02: I will try and figure out how many episodes the blood war is going to be.
- 55:23SPEAKER_02: Then I'm gonna be there.
- 55:24SPEAKER_04: Then I'm gonna start to do it.
- 55:25SPEAKER_04: My bets are on four.
- 55:27SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna kill something.
- 55:30SPEAKER_04: It's four episodes.
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: You're anyway.
- 55:34SPEAKER_02: That's all the information I have on Yugalos.
- 55:37SPEAKER_04: And the blood war on Dungeon Pedia lasted like two months.
- 55:41SPEAKER_04: It lasted for probably thousands and thousands of years.
- 55:43SPEAKER_02: And it's going to be me versus Lewin and Travis pulling the strings.
- 55:49SPEAKER_04: Wait, why?
- 55:50SPEAKER_03: I'm okay with this.
- 55:51SPEAKER_03: Doesn't matter what I'm saying.
- 55:54SPEAKER_02: Oh?
- 55:55SPEAKER_04: Interesting.
- 55:56SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say, because the implication is that Travis is the neutral evil.
- 55:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 56:00SPEAKER_04: Apparently you're the chaotic evil, and I'm the lawful evil.
- 56:03SPEAKER_04: I am offended that you would refer.
- 56:07SPEAKER_04: Lawful?
- 56:08SPEAKER_03: Listen, someone has to be lawful evil here, and it's not gonna be me.
- 56:11SPEAKER_04: It's not gonna be me.
- 56:13SPEAKER_04: Okay, well, now Taylor and I have to fight about it.
- 56:16SPEAKER_04: That's the intention of the blood war.
- 56:17SPEAKER_04: That's the blood war, is us fighting about who has to be lawful.
- 56:22SPEAKER_04: We don't even care.
- 56:23SPEAKER_04: We're all content with being with being assigned evil.
- 56:25SPEAKER_04: But not lawful.
- 56:27SPEAKER_04: Hey, you know what?
- 56:28SPEAKER_02: I'm not gonna be You know what?
- 56:29SPEAKER_02: If either of us is lawful, it's probably me.
- 56:32SPEAKER_04: Any kind of hall monitor.
- 56:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know that's probably just good hall monitor, bad hall monitor?
- 56:36SPEAKER_04: No.
- 56:37SPEAKER_03: Platinum hall monitor.
- 56:39SPEAKER_04: Uh I mean Bahama could hang.
- 56:42SPEAKER_04: He's a dragon, he can hang.
- 56:44SPEAKER_02: Thank you guys so much for listening.
- 56:46SPEAKER_02: Don't forget to follow us on Twitter, on Instagram, wherever you so choose to get our updates.
- 56:52SPEAKER_04: Vote on which one of us is the most lawful.
- 56:55SPEAKER_02: Uh actually, I would be very interested in that, please.
- 56:58SPEAKER_04: Okay, actually, I might put up a poll after this episode's been posted.
- 57:03SPEAKER_04: Might put up a poll later.
- 57:05SPEAKER_04: And you can and you can go vote on who of us is the most lawful.
- 57:09SPEAKER_03: Uh spread the word to your friends.
- 57:11SPEAKER_03: Tell them about the infernals and the blood war both in DD and apparently on Dungeon Pedia now.
- 57:18SPEAKER_03: Get them involved in the poll.
- 57:21SPEAKER_03: All the votes.
- 57:22SPEAKER_02: If you have anything to suggest as a topic for us to cover, feel free to email us at dungeonpedia.podcast at gmail.com.
- 57:28SPEAKER_02: We do have a backlog that we're working through, but I'm not allowed to touch it because I have to do the blood war.
- 57:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, just don't email uh anything else to Taylor about any kind of subset of infernals or anything.
- 57:40SPEAKER_02: Because apparently she's apparently she's not doing it.
- 57:45SPEAKER_02: Going to kill all the devils and the demons, all the infernals.
- 57:49SPEAKER_03: So murder.
- 57:51SPEAKER_03: Anyway, thank you all once again for listening.
- 57:54SPEAKER_03: We're gonna go ahead and uh end this episode before Taylor goes even more insane, and we will catch you here next week on Dungeon Pedia.
- 58:04SPEAKER_04: You know, if we did kill all of them, it like I know balance and stuff, but it it would solve a lot of problems.
- 58:12unknown: Yeah.
- 58:13SPEAKER_03: But it would cause a lot more.
- 58:15SPEAKER_04: Would it though?
- 58:16SPEAKER_03: Yes, because the balance would be off.
- 58:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like balance and stuff, but balance.
