- 0:41Speaker 1: gets a ton of money first and foremost's been a
- 0:43Speaker 1: couple of weeks. Lad, How is summer going right now?
- 0:45Speaker 1: How many more lawsuits do we have pending?
- 0:53Speaker 4: Rightly? Another six?
- 0:54Speaker 5: I'm just suing everybody now, you fuck with me, I
- 0:58Speaker 5: sue now, summer is good. Just going through a home
- 1:02Speaker 5: remodel right now where I want to burn the house down.
- 1:05Speaker 5: We're at the crackdown stage, just waiting to advance. We
- 1:09Speaker 5: did a full gut remodel, jumped right into it. I
- 1:12Speaker 5: like to abuse myself physically.
- 1:16Speaker 6: How much longer you guys have?
- 1:17Speaker 4: Yeah? What's that?
- 1:18Speaker 6: How much longer do you have?
- 1:20Speaker 4: Like a month or two?
- 1:21Speaker 5: Probably we got so we're like at We're just going
- 1:24Speaker 5: to install new exterior doors, so those are coming in
- 1:27Speaker 5: next week. We have to find a four clift operating crew.
- 1:29Speaker 5: All that ship. There's a lot of ship you got
- 1:31Speaker 5: to figure out. On the stupid question.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Are you living in the home in which is being remodeled.
- 1:38Speaker 4: No, No, we're in a condo.
- 1:39Speaker 5: Yeah, if I went into that home, I would If
- 1:41Speaker 5: I be in that home right now, I wouldn't survive.
- 1:44Speaker 4: I will survive sac number.
- 1:46Speaker 1: But like how significant is the remodeling? Is it like
- 1:49Speaker 1: hundreds of thousands of dollars but you worth yeah?
- 1:53Speaker 5: You know, yeah, like we're going down, Like the walls
- 1:56Speaker 5: are up and that's about it. Like we we yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 5: we we like down to the studs a little bit
- 2:03Speaker 5: pretty much. Yeah, all the walls were they just got
- 2:05Speaker 5: closed up. We did our first stage to dry wall
- 2:08Speaker 5: and like luckily not moving a ton of stuff, but
- 2:12Speaker 5: like it's just everything's getting a refresher.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Yeah, it's awful. My wife wanted to do it. We're
- 2:19Speaker 4: doing it.
- 2:20Speaker 2: But why to tell Jillian, why don't you just buy
- 2:22Speaker 2: a new house.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Because there's you know, we want to live in a
- 2:25Speaker 5: z and right now, there's nothing worth a Baker's ship
- 2:30Speaker 5: to buy in Arizona that's that doesn't need work, right. Yeah,
- 2:35Speaker 5: So we like to do the real estate investing stuff.
- 2:37Speaker 5: We like to kind of.
- 2:40Speaker 6: Like it.
- 2:41Speaker 2: DIY do it yourself like it.
- 2:44Speaker 5: I do it all man. I wear many hats. I
- 2:48Speaker 5: wear many hats.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Nate a good summer right now?
- 2:50Speaker 1: I am assuming running around your three year old keeping
- 2:52Speaker 1: her busy, keeping away from screens as much as possible.
- 2:55Speaker 7: Yeah, you've said it in summery right there. Basically it's
- 2:59Speaker 7: been good. It's been a good summer down in Orange
- 3:02Speaker 7: County now, which is good.
- 3:03Speaker 6: Little traffic, a little less traffic, which.
- 3:06Speaker 4: Is californiah CALIFORNI.
- 3:10Speaker 6: Yeah. Other than that, I'm just glad to be here
- 3:12Speaker 6: with you guys.
- 3:13Speaker 7: Been doing a lot of a lot of jiu jitsu,
- 3:15Speaker 7: as Jason likes to call it, jiu jitsu is.
- 3:23Speaker 6: Now it is.
- 3:24Speaker 1: It's good, and tal I should mention we're not going
- 3:26Speaker 1: to do it now. We are going to review the Odyssey.
- 3:28Speaker 1: All of us have now seen it, which is fantastic.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Christ Wait, it's your are we are we glazing over that?
- 3:34Speaker 5: It's your birthday? Or was your birthday?
- 3:35Speaker 6: Yesterday?
- 3:37Speaker 5: Wasn't happy birthday? Talked to us about the festivities.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Jersey shore fantastic, love the good waves. I mean it's
- 3:43Speaker 1: tough at the beach when it's a little overcast. Kids
- 3:45Speaker 1: want it like, you know, scorching hot.
- 3:46Speaker 2: But I'm like no.
- 3:47Speaker 1: But if it's overcast, less people, less traffic, which is
- 3:50Speaker 1: always a win, pizza and ice cream still goes down smooth,
- 3:53Speaker 1: and uh yeah, I just I don't like the The
- 3:56Speaker 1: life guard's gonna be a little bligerent, like they don't
- 3:58Speaker 1: think you can handle the wave. They start blowing the
- 4:00Speaker 1: whistle that's calling you back. Look, I know what I'm doing.
- 4:02Speaker 1: I can do no get back, get back, explain to me,
- 4:04Speaker 1: because it's not that I know you can't handle it,
- 4:06Speaker 1: but other people will start to try to, you know,
- 4:08Speaker 1: and if the current drags you, he goes there's no
- 4:10Speaker 1: more helpless feeling than a current drag in you.
- 4:13Speaker 5: Yeah, I'll take you work for it, and we need
- 4:17Speaker 5: a host. You imagine you weren't here today? Was or
- 4:22Speaker 5: is that riptide it?
- 4:26Speaker 1: And then I said I gotta watch a movie with
- 4:28Speaker 1: the kids, so I might. Fifteen year old was, can
- 4:30Speaker 1: we watch like a Batman movie? And I was like,
- 4:32Speaker 1: I'm kind of tired of supermovie. It's not really my thing.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It's more your thing. It's my birthday technically. But if
- 4:36Speaker 1: you guys really want to like The Dark Knight, I'll
- 4:38Speaker 1: make an exception for it. The Dark Knight's a great movie.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I do like Batman Returns because I love DeVito as
- 4:42Speaker 1: the penguins. We really have to do what we can
- 4:43Speaker 1: do it. But then I pushed back and said, ok, kids,
- 4:45Speaker 1: you're at the Agent. You can watch planes, trains and aumobiles.
- 4:48Speaker 1: So a John Candy Steve Martin classical Last night was great.
- 4:51Speaker 6: I didn't seen it in a long time, very very fuddy.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Did they like it?
- 4:55Speaker 2: They did a couple of scenes.
- 4:56Speaker 1: My nine year old like, wasn't understanding the nuance of
- 4:58Speaker 1: the joke here and there.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Look, okay, I'll just I won't really have.
- 5:00Speaker 6: Explain it to him.
- 5:01Speaker 2: But the scene, of course, and I said, this is
- 5:03Speaker 2: the most famous. Those aren't pillows. They just they just
- 5:06Speaker 2: lost their minds.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I mean, came in nineteen eighty seven and you're still
- 5:11Speaker 1: making people laugh over at Dell.
- 5:12Speaker 6: Where's your hand?
- 5:13Speaker 2: Why are you holding my hand? Where's your other hand?
- 5:15Speaker 6: It's between two pillows.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Those aren't pillows?
- 5:20Speaker 6: All time comedy classic. It was great.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Uh, we get to the issues at hand here, but
- 5:26Speaker 1: they did it, but also the Satura. They then asked
- 5:28Speaker 1: what happened to Dale because they love John Katy so
- 5:30Speaker 1: much like weoll he passed away?
- 5:31Speaker 2: Like what?
- 5:32Speaker 1: Like something that took a dark jurn the rest of
- 5:33Speaker 1: the night, Like what do you mean he died? He
- 5:35Speaker 1: was a great actor, unfortunately. But there's a documentary can
- 5:37Speaker 1: watch kids on my next birthday.
- 5:38Speaker 4: It's called I Like Me.
- 5:39Speaker 6: It's on Amazon Prime.
- 5:42Speaker 2: We can talk about that next time, all right, kah.
- 5:45Speaker 1: People are getting paid here in the NHL, which is
- 5:46Speaker 1: fantastic news.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Especially JD's Guy.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Macklin celebrated the news dropped yesterday on my birthday. The
- 5:52Speaker 1: Baby Faced Assassin signed his extension with the Sharks five years,
- 5:55Speaker 1: ninety four million dollars in average annual value eighteen point
- 5:59Speaker 1: eight million. The extension kicks in twenty twenty seven. He's
- 6:03Speaker 1: making a relative paltry nine hundred and seventy five thousand
- 6:06Speaker 1: dollars this coming season. That is an astronomical race, and
- 6:10Speaker 1: as of right now, this would be the highest salary
- 6:12Speaker 1: of any player in twenty seven to twenty eight, beating
- 6:14Speaker 1: out Leo Carlson's eighteen million thanking to Danny Breer and
- 6:17Speaker 1: the Flyers celebrating earned it, finishing last season ranked fourth
- 6:20Speaker 1: and goals fourth, in points fourth and Hearth Trophy voting.
- 6:24Speaker 1: And he's gonna be twenty one on June thirteenth, three
- 6:27Speaker 1: weeks later, the Monster season kicks in again.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Jad, it's your Shark's your team. Any I guess there's
- 6:33Speaker 2: no surprise necessarily.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Are you surprised that maybe the number is that high
- 6:36Speaker 1: for celebritior it all makes sense to you.
- 6:38Speaker 6: No.
- 6:38Speaker 5: I guess, like when you look at cap percentages and
- 6:40Speaker 5: stuff like that, it's it's a it's the right number,
- 6:42Speaker 5: and I think in two three years it's gonna look
- 6:45Speaker 5: really good, which is funny. But I think they didn't
- 6:49Speaker 5: really have any you know, if Macklin walked in there
- 6:53Speaker 5: and said I want twenty million, and I think Mike
- 6:56Speaker 5: Greer said he was well within his rights to ask
- 6:58Speaker 5: for that, they would have probably paid him that because
- 7:02Speaker 5: Mike Greer alluded to like the fact that we're in
- 7:05Speaker 5: a different world with the offer sheets, and I think
- 7:09Speaker 5: Danny Brier in you know, maybe being an ex player,
- 7:13Speaker 5: he wanted to help out all players as a GM.
- 7:16Speaker 5: But now teams are scared and Mike Crew was like, listen,
- 7:21Speaker 5: it's changed the landscape of the way we're going to
- 7:23Speaker 5: negotiate with some of this young talent. And I think
- 7:26Speaker 5: that's interesting to see as we move forward, you're gonna
- 7:29Speaker 5: see guys negotiating earlier. For the for these young players.
- 7:33Speaker 5: Is this young talent, this young skill. And I've kind
- 7:36Speaker 5: of kept saying it. You know, the pendulum has swung
- 7:39Speaker 5: so far and the power has landed so squarely and
- 7:43Speaker 5: firmly within the hands of these young players, the young
- 7:46Speaker 5: studs and these teams that I don't know what gms
- 7:50Speaker 5: can do to wrestle back the hand. As we'd say
- 7:54Speaker 5: in Sion Fell, you gotta have the hand.
- 7:55Speaker 4: I don't have the hand, but I've got hand and hand.
- 7:59Speaker 4: You got nothing. I know I got nothing. But that's
- 8:02Speaker 4: really where we're at right now.
- 8:04Speaker 5: It's it's pretty it's pretty interesting, just the way everything's changed.
- 8:08Speaker 5: And but for Macklin's sake, listen, he's to me, he's
- 8:11Speaker 5: a top five player in the NHL right now. You
- 8:14Speaker 5: have to pay him. If he wanted twenty million, I
- 8:17Speaker 5: would have paid him. It's interesting that it's going to
- 8:19Speaker 5: bring him right to free agency. I believe he'll be
- 8:24Speaker 5: a UFA when this is up, if I'm not mistaken.
- 8:26Speaker 5: But you know, so this is pretty crazy, but I'm
- 8:30Speaker 5: assuming that once they get close to free agency with
- 8:32Speaker 5: him in four years, they're going to resign him to
- 8:34Speaker 5: another seven year deal whatever it is in Max turn
- 8:38Speaker 5: them out so interesting times, San Jose locks up a
- 8:41Speaker 5: big piece in Nate.
- 8:42Speaker 6: Uh.
- 8:44Speaker 5: I still think, you know, I would take eighteen point
- 8:47Speaker 5: eight over Galil Carlson's eighteen.
- 8:51Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, you're right.
- 8:52Speaker 7: I mean when it comes to both those players, I
- 8:54Speaker 7: don't think anyone's going to you know, debate you on
- 8:58Speaker 7: the kind of player that macolt celebrity is, Like, like,
- 9:01Speaker 7: I wouldn't have blinked if he got twenty like you
- 9:04Speaker 7: said to I mean, just seeing seeing the number in
- 9:06Speaker 7: the amount of years he got, it was it was like, okay,
- 9:09Speaker 7: this makes sense. It's right on par with what he's
- 9:12Speaker 7: supposed to get. And you said it, I mean what
- 9:14Speaker 7: he did last season at his age, and you know,
- 9:17Speaker 7: everyone's talked about him being you know, the mini sid
- 9:21Speaker 7: and and the way he plays the game and how
- 9:23Speaker 7: he plays it, and you know.
- 9:24Speaker 6: He is he is the future of this league. He
- 9:26Speaker 6: really is.
- 9:27Speaker 7: Like he's the face of the league moving forward with
- 9:29Speaker 7: you know, with Sydney Crosby moving on and Ovechkin, these guys,
- 9:32Speaker 7: it's gonna be Macklin celebriny. So you know, he is
- 9:35Speaker 7: setting the benchmark I guess you could say for what
- 9:38Speaker 7: these players are going to get. And and my question
- 9:41Speaker 7: is like for you guys and you jit is what
- 9:45Speaker 7: what number does now? Does does Connor get to like
- 9:48Speaker 7: when his his deal comes to?
- 9:50Speaker 4: Yeah, what numbers does that come to?
- 9:52Speaker 5: This is interesting because age, I think comes into play
- 9:55Speaker 5: a little bit with him and and where they're gonna be.
- 9:58Speaker 5: I mean, I'm sure it's going to be a conversation.
- 10:00Speaker 5: I'm sure he's gonna want maybe a five year deal
- 10:03Speaker 5: as well, and tickles something in the range of twenty two.
- 10:07Speaker 5: But I don't know, he's always he's been his summer
- 10:11Speaker 5: in his last year. It's very interesting. He kind of
- 10:14Speaker 5: marches to the beat of his own drum a little bit.
- 10:16Speaker 5: And I don't know if that stuff really interesting because
- 10:19Speaker 5: he probably makes so much money in sponsorships as well.
- 10:23Speaker 5: I think he's got some big sponsorships. So to me,
- 10:26Speaker 5: it's kind of interesting to watch Connor McDavid because he's
- 10:30Speaker 5: made some off the board moves like the twelve and
- 10:32Speaker 5: a half million deal and then now advocating for Mike
- 10:35Speaker 5: Babcock and kind of doubling down like three different times
- 10:39Speaker 5: that he's the right guy for us, which I think
- 10:42Speaker 5: you have to. And they're putting there, they're putting their
- 10:45Speaker 5: h you know, they're they're whipping it out and put
- 10:47Speaker 5: it on the line for this team and and for
- 10:51Speaker 5: their decisions.
- 10:52Speaker 4: So we'll see with him.
- 10:54Speaker 5: But yeah, it's it's it's it's a weird time in
- 10:58Speaker 5: the NHL. To me, it's weird.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I just I only took that discount one and generally speaking,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I found athletes, Hey, I did it once, I'm not
- 11:07Speaker 1: gonna do it again. And this some I'm definitely getting
- 11:08Speaker 1: paid every single dollar that I'm earned.
- 11:10Speaker 5: It's like the big actor, right, one for me, one
- 11:12Speaker 5: for you, Artsy film, Marvel film.
- 11:17Speaker 6: There you go.
- 11:18Speaker 5: But you know, it's funny because it's really an interesting
- 11:24Speaker 5: one for us with Connor. But at the end of
- 11:28Speaker 5: the day, like you know, I think it's gonna be
- 11:30Speaker 5: kind of a blank check as well. You know, maybe
- 11:33Speaker 5: i'd like to see somebody kind of roll that messy
- 11:36Speaker 5: deal where it's like he gets a percentage of revenue
- 11:39Speaker 5: from the team. Nice and maybe like Jersey sales stuff
- 11:42Speaker 5: like that, maybe you do something a little bit creative
- 11:44Speaker 5: on the back end.
- 11:46Speaker 4: You know.
- 11:46Speaker 5: Messi did that with the La Galaxy. He got like
- 11:48Speaker 5: equity in the franchise or something. And maybe we're maybe
- 11:51Speaker 5: we're coming to that point where these top guys get that.
- 11:55Speaker 5: But it's uh, yeah, it's a new world right now.
- 11:59Speaker 5: And I understand what it feels like. When I played
- 12:03Speaker 5: and the old guys were bitter against us, being like,
- 12:06Speaker 5: you don't know what we fought for.
- 12:07Speaker 4: I'm like, he's every deals.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Did that with Miami or that with the Galaxy?
- 12:16Speaker 5: No, sorry, Beckham did that with Messy did that with Miami?
- 12:19Speaker 5: I beeve he got like a percentage share of Jersey
- 12:22Speaker 5: sales revenue. Tal double checked me on that. But and
- 12:27Speaker 5: I think he like he made an absolute killing in
- 12:31Speaker 5: the year two. But anyway, yeah, but I understand what
- 12:34Speaker 5: it feels like to be better against these young guys
- 12:35Speaker 5: being like, you don't know what.
- 12:37Speaker 4: I fought for. It looks like Messi.
- 12:40Speaker 8: Messi got an equity stake in the team for signing
- 12:43Speaker 8: with the team, and they're paying him a lot too.
- 12:45Speaker 8: I think he's the highest paid player at MLS, or
- 12:47Speaker 8: one of them. At least that's a good point. I
- 12:49Speaker 8: could see equity steak one. It'll be fantastic.
- 12:51Speaker 4: He'll go give a little him off a half percent.
- 12:55Speaker 8: There's rumors Lebron got some sort of side deal with Philly.
- 12:58Speaker 4: We can get to that.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Is that you're talking about the dumbest ship the guys
- 13:04Speaker 5: hell copturing in Let's talk.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Let's break that, let's look it. We'll go to a
- 13:08Speaker 1: quick sidebar on Lebron Gdy. He's just chasing rings like.
- 13:12Speaker 5: This guy's blatantly he's helicoptering from New York.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Well that that part you're looking at.
- 13:17Speaker 1: Let's talk two, part one. Is this the basketball part
- 13:19Speaker 1: of it? I want him to go to the Warriors just
- 13:20Speaker 1: to play with Staff because I love Staph. Would have
- 13:22Speaker 1: been fun to see. But he's like man and he
- 13:24Speaker 1: could have gone back to Miami. But he's like could
- 13:26Speaker 1: have played with Bam and Giannis. Don't enough outside shooting. Cleveland, Okay,
- 13:29Speaker 1: it's home Hardens a ball hog. Team's not that great.
- 13:32Speaker 1: It'side from Donovan Mitchell. Okay, Philly Pobby is the best
- 13:34Speaker 1: chance to win Gaylen Brown Top five player. I got
- 13:37Speaker 1: two young guys obviously in Edgecombe MAXI and beat former MVP.
- 13:40Speaker 2: He's short a lot.
- 13:40Speaker 1: But to your point, which is the funni your point,
- 13:42Speaker 1: he won't live in Philadelphia.
- 13:44Speaker 6: He's going to live in Brooklyn commute.
- 13:46Speaker 5: You think he gets booed as a Philly fan. You're
- 13:49Speaker 5: a Philly fan, Like, what do you think? Does that
- 13:51Speaker 5: piss you off? I'd be insaulted by it? Yeah, absolutely right.
- 13:55Speaker 1: Lots of nice places you can live in the you know,
- 13:57Speaker 1: wats of hadden Fell, the Cherry Hill, There's lots of
- 13:59Speaker 1: places you.
- 13:59Speaker 4: Can Yeah, Nate, what's going on here? You ron? Fake?
- 14:04Speaker 4: I mean bitch.
- 14:06Speaker 7: I mean if I'm a Philly guy and I texted
- 14:09Speaker 7: a Philly friend of mine, uh and I and I,
- 14:11Speaker 7: you know, brought up the Lebron thing and he said, yeah, wow,
- 14:14Speaker 7: it's great. But who really cares that? That was the
- 14:17Speaker 7: reaction about Lebron as long as they really as they win.
- 14:21Speaker 7: But it's it's a little bit like Kobe. Though Kobe
- 14:23Speaker 7: lived in he lived in Orange County and took a
- 14:26Speaker 7: chopper all the way to La So it's very similar.
- 14:28Speaker 7: It's like Kobe style a little bit.
- 14:31Speaker 8: J Reddick if you remember JJ Reddick he played in
- 14:34Speaker 8: Philly briefly and he lived in Brooklyn.
- 14:37Speaker 5: JJ Redick, he's the coach of the Lakers. No I know,
- 14:40Speaker 5: but what's he doing? Commute again, that's a great point.
- 14:43Speaker 4: How do you think you are? JJ Redick?
- 14:44Speaker 1: Because you're right J Billow He's made that point on
- 14:46Speaker 1: get Up. He's like, I always say JJ Reddick in
- 14:48Speaker 1: the hallway because we lived in the same building.
- 14:49Speaker 6: And he's like, I lived in Brooklyn.
- 14:50Speaker 2: Like what like to J, who is J. J Rector
- 14:54Speaker 2: the guy?
- 14:54Speaker 6: I'm just gonna pull this off?
- 14:56Speaker 4: What do you like? That is insane?
- 14:58Speaker 5: Basketball players are and they're a different breed of human being.
- 15:02Speaker 6: What would the copy I would not disagree with Back
- 15:04Speaker 6: when you.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Played for the Sharks, even San Francisco, you you know,
- 15:07Speaker 1: it's still the Bay Area.
- 15:09Speaker 5: That it would be like it would be what that
- 15:11Speaker 5: would be border you know, it would be borderline, like
- 15:14Speaker 5: me living in like living in Orange County.
- 15:24Speaker 6: I know.
- 15:26Speaker 5: Everything's close on the East Coast, but it's a different state.
- 15:29Speaker 5: You're crossing state lines. They go to Philly, it's a.
- 15:35Speaker 2: What I think it's an hour plus ride Brooklyn at Philly.
- 15:38Speaker 5: I mean it's like me taking a helicopter from OC
- 15:41Speaker 5: San Jose. Imagine Macklin being like, Yeah, I'm just gonna
- 15:45Speaker 5: come in from l A.
- 15:49Speaker 2: All right, let's get to Chicago here.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Jonathan Tave sunning a one day contract just to officially
- 15:54Speaker 1: retire as a Blackhawk. But the big news is the
- 15:56Speaker 1: return of Patrick Kane two year contract eight million dollars
- 15:59Speaker 1: per season. Not just a homecoming for Kine, also a
- 16:02Speaker 1: big race for the former Blackhawks superstar Kane and Bdard
- 16:05Speaker 1: on the ice together.
- 16:06Speaker 2: But again, we know it's a Blackhawks rebuilding.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Caine's turning thirty eight in November, a legend in Chicago,
- 16:11Speaker 1: winning three Stanley Cups, Heart Trophy cons my Ted, Lindsay
- 16:14Speaker 1: art Ross and the calder Nate is anything more than
- 16:17Speaker 1: just a nice ceremonial moment. Or is Patty KANESI love
- 16:20Speaker 1: something left in the tank?
- 16:21Speaker 6: No.
- 16:22Speaker 7: I was watching him on Pardon My Take a little
- 16:25Speaker 7: bit and he was talking about it and he said,
- 16:27Speaker 7: you know that this was a big choice, not just
- 16:30Speaker 7: for you know, coming back to Chicago, but he he
- 16:32Speaker 7: he described it, and I think that was an interesting part.
- 16:34Speaker 7: He described it as you know, this was a big
- 16:37Speaker 7: decision for him and where and where the team, where
- 16:40Speaker 7: the team is the fit for him, and he said
- 16:43Speaker 7: it was it was gonna be a good fit for him,
- 16:45Speaker 7: you know, besides the fact that it was Chicago Blackhawks
- 16:47Speaker 7: and the team that he played for for so long.
- 16:50Speaker 7: But I think the way the team's headed, you know,
- 16:52Speaker 7: they're obviously trying to make the playoffs. They're in a
- 16:54Speaker 7: transition phase where they're you know, these guys are getting
- 16:57Speaker 7: a little bit better, getting a little bit older. Like
- 17:00Speaker 7: you said, Connor Bdard is signed to a long term
- 17:02Speaker 7: deal now, and I think it. I think at the
- 17:05Speaker 7: end of the day, Caine coming back to Chicago, but
- 17:07Speaker 7: getting to play with Connor Bodard and help these young guys,
- 17:09Speaker 7: it's gonna be It's gonna be fun for the league.
- 17:12Speaker 7: It's gonna be fun for people to see Kane or
- 17:13Speaker 7: back back in Blackhawks jersey.
- 17:16Speaker 5: They're gonna suck ass next year, but but it's gonna
- 17:24Speaker 5: be cute to see Patrick Kane back. But uh yeah, there, listen,
- 17:29Speaker 5: this is gonna be a tough year for him. I
- 17:31Speaker 5: think they'll have some nice moments. It'll be fun to
- 17:34Speaker 5: see Game one when Patty and Connor are in the
- 17:38Speaker 5: lineup and he makes a nice dish to Badard, or
- 17:40Speaker 5: Badard makes a nice dish to him and he scores.
- 17:43Speaker 4: Everybody's gonna cheer.
- 17:44Speaker 5: But it'll be an eight to one hockey game and
- 17:46Speaker 5: they're gonna be getting routed. Uh, this is a this
- 17:50Speaker 5: is not a great team right now. I'm interested to
- 17:53Speaker 5: see where they go. They had to pay somebody. I'm
- 17:56Speaker 5: glad they did. Glad they paid Patty. It's very it's
- 18:00Speaker 5: very emotional, I think for him and hits home and
- 18:04Speaker 5: I think, I mean, never say never. Maybe they can
- 18:07Speaker 5: convince Taser to come back out for one more year. Yeah, nice,
- 18:12Speaker 5: just say hey, get off the boat. I think he's
- 18:14Speaker 5: like in santro Pei right now, just on an absolute heater.
- 18:19Speaker 5: But it'd be great, it'd be great to see him.
- 18:21Speaker 5: But I just I'm looking at their lines right now,
- 18:23Speaker 5: and Jesus Christ, well.
- 18:27Speaker 1: To your point, you at least Badard does get taken
- 18:29Speaker 1: care of. He's going to miss the start of the
- 18:30Speaker 1: season with a shoulder injury. But five years, seventy five million,
- 18:33Speaker 1: so fifteen million dollars aav after now he's the third
- 18:37Speaker 1: highest played player after his fourth time, should say, after Carlson,
- 18:40Speaker 1: Caprisot and Celebrini now Bdard's set career highs goals, assist points,
- 18:44Speaker 1: you missed thirteen games with injuries. As just said, Black,
- 18:47Speaker 1: I still might be the worst team in hockey. What
- 18:48Speaker 1: do you make of that contract? Though fifteen million to Badard.
- 18:52Speaker 4: H I was good.
- 18:53Speaker 5: I mean, you have to pay him, and you know
- 18:55Speaker 5: you kind of fifteen I think it's a I would
- 18:58Speaker 5: say it's a team friendly deal, but again, in my mind,
- 19:02Speaker 5: I think.
- 19:03Speaker 1: It's an overpay for a great young player and a
- 19:05Speaker 1: bad team.
- 19:07Speaker 5: I think so, but I mean, listen, I played in
- 19:08Speaker 5: the Coyotes when I first started, and you know we
- 19:11Speaker 5: had to pay Keller. We kind of had to pay
- 19:13Speaker 5: those guys big money even though we were struggling. And
- 19:16Speaker 5: I think Connor, with a good team around him, would
- 19:18Speaker 5: be very good, very effective, very very dynamic. I don't
- 19:23Speaker 5: know if he has that capability like Macklin to drag
- 19:27Speaker 5: his team close to the playoffs. Just don't think it's there.
- 19:30Speaker 5: Just they're just different players. But yeah, I think he
- 19:34Speaker 5: improved Nate at moments last year, and I think from
- 19:39Speaker 5: his previous seasons, his tenacity on the puck and the
- 19:43Speaker 5: way he competes as well as like in all three zones,
- 19:46Speaker 5: I think really improved. So for me, Connor, I think
- 19:49Speaker 5: he earneddeed. He got better, he took a step forward
- 19:52Speaker 5: maturity wise, and you know, it just sucks to see
- 19:55Speaker 5: him get hurt like that. This is unfortunate because it's
- 19:57Speaker 5: been nice to see him and Kaner opening night when
- 20:00Speaker 5: the place is rocking at United Center.
- 20:04Speaker 7: I mean, he was, I mean, he was talked about,
- 20:06Speaker 7: you know, possibly making that you know, team Canada for
- 20:09Speaker 7: the Olympics at one point, and then he gets injured,
- 20:11Speaker 7: and like, for me, that's that's my biggest concern for
- 20:14Speaker 7: Conra Dart is moving forward, is staying healthy because he's
- 20:18Speaker 7: not a he's not an overly big guy. You know,
- 20:21Speaker 7: I think you know, like you said, the way he plays,
- 20:23Speaker 7: he does, he competes, but you know, at the same time,
- 20:25Speaker 7: you wonder, can he stay healthy, Can he play a
- 20:29Speaker 7: full season? You know, can he you know, can he
- 20:31Speaker 7: put up forty fifty goals one hundred points, because that's
- 20:35Speaker 7: that's what he's getting paid to do now, So you're right, like,
- 20:37Speaker 7: it's that's that's a contract. So it's for me, it's
- 20:40Speaker 7: just can this kid stay healthy? And you know, like
- 20:42Speaker 7: you said, this team is a Blackhawks teams doesn't have
- 20:45Speaker 7: a lot of depth, so a lot of a lot
- 20:48Speaker 7: ways on his shoulders offensively, no.
- 20:51Speaker 6: Doubt about it.
- 20:52Speaker 1: And meantime, j robers staying in Big D, I mean, god,
- 20:54Speaker 1: how do you feel me the crack and we offered
- 20:56Speaker 1: you one hundred and twenty million dollars?
- 20:57Speaker 6: Nah?
- 20:58Speaker 1: Pass, I probably just take one year twelve million to
- 21:01Speaker 1: hang out in Big D. Robertson finished last season ten points,
- 21:05Speaker 1: die for fourth and goals. If he comes close to
- 21:06Speaker 1: beating those numbers, he'll get a monster long term deal.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Jim nil JD says he wants that to be with Dallas.
- 21:12Speaker 1: They could be in a better position to offer Robertson
- 21:14Speaker 1: a long term deal next season because the salary cap
- 21:17Speaker 1: goes up Sagan's nine point eight five million dollar cap,
- 21:19Speaker 1: it comes off the books. Do you think this is
- 21:22Speaker 1: like a bridge deal and Robertson ends up getting a
- 21:24Speaker 1: big contract with Dallas or is this going to be
- 21:26Speaker 1: a swan song?
- 21:28Speaker 3: Now?
- 21:28Speaker 5: Depending on the season, but I think you know, he'll
- 21:31Speaker 5: have a good year again. Thomas will have a good year.
- 21:33Speaker 5: I think the nine to zero point eighty five coming
- 21:35Speaker 5: off the cap for Segs is going to be a
- 21:38Speaker 5: big deciding factor on that.
- 21:40Speaker 6: But I don't know.
- 21:41Speaker 4: It's it's interesting, you know, it's it's interesting.
- 21:44Speaker 5: With Dallas and you know, did they do anything crazy
- 21:47Speaker 5: to get better at the trade deadline or sorry, the
- 21:50Speaker 5: free agency? I know they were kind of linked to
- 21:52Speaker 5: Dylan Larkin and some of those other guys, but did
- 21:55Speaker 5: they really make a big splash to say, like, oh
- 21:58Speaker 5: yeah they in this Central, They're really now have a
- 22:01Speaker 5: chance to be number one and really passed. But I
- 22:05Speaker 5: know they were in on a lot of things but
- 22:07Speaker 5: nothing really materialized. But to me, I don't know, We're
- 22:10Speaker 5: gonna see with this team. But I think it's again
- 22:14Speaker 5: that that's Central such a fucking meat grinder, man, Like
- 22:18Speaker 5: you've got to get so lucky to get out of it.
- 22:21Speaker 5: And unfortunately I can kind of see a path for
- 22:25Speaker 5: Edmonton this early to make the finals again this year,
- 22:28Speaker 5: just with the way that division is shaping up and
- 22:30Speaker 5: the Pacific versus the Central.
- 22:33Speaker 4: But Jay rob Great, I.
- 22:35Speaker 7: Wonder too, like you, I mean, like he signs a
- 22:38Speaker 7: one year twelve million extensions turns down that originally turns
- 22:43Speaker 7: down a big number from Seattle, Like is it I
- 22:45Speaker 7: wonder if it's one of those conversations where it's like, okay, Jay, Rob,
- 22:49Speaker 7: all right, let's take one year twelve million. After January first,
- 22:53Speaker 7: we'll talk about a long term extension. We'll give you
- 22:55Speaker 7: your number. Maybe we add something at the deadline based
- 22:58Speaker 7: on what we need. I wonder if this is one
- 23:00Speaker 7: of those things where it's like in good faith, like hey, like,
- 23:03Speaker 7: you want to be a Dallas star.
- 23:04Speaker 6: We know you do.
- 23:05Speaker 7: You know you've put up one hundred points multiple years.
- 23:09Speaker 7: You're gonna be our guy. We just need you to
- 23:12Speaker 7: be patient. Take to one year. We want to win
- 23:14Speaker 7: a cup. Let's move forward. After January first, we'll sign
- 23:17Speaker 7: you to a seven year you know, you get fifteen
- 23:21Speaker 7: per per year, which you were originally asking.
- 23:23Speaker 6: And everyone's happy.
- 23:25Speaker 5: Yeah, but what if he shoots the lights out and
- 23:27Speaker 5: he's got thirty five goals by January first, and then
- 23:31Speaker 5: he turns around and goes, daddy wants eighteen.
- 23:35Speaker 4: What do you do then?
- 23:36Speaker 5: If you're Dallas, like now you're in a Now you're
- 23:39Speaker 5: gonna pickle. But I guess that's a happy it's a
- 23:42Speaker 5: happy coincidence.
- 23:42Speaker 6: Hap.
- 23:43Speaker 5: I mean for Seattle, the only thing for Seattle is listen,
- 23:45Speaker 5: get your politics in order that millionaire's tax.
- 23:50Speaker 1: But what's it gonna take, Jadie, Like when you offer
- 23:52Speaker 1: some me one hundred and twenty million dollars you no,
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'm good like that.
- 23:55Speaker 5: You see that millionaire's tax that they say were implementing,
- 23:58Speaker 5: I mean that probably played a big part. And again,
- 24:01Speaker 5: anything outside of the rink one Street is an absolute
- 24:05Speaker 5: dump in Seattle right now, and it was I love
- 24:07Speaker 5: that city.
- 24:08Speaker 4: I love going there. Couldn't pay me to go there.
- 24:10Speaker 4: I'd rather go to Tijuana, Mexico than go there.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Yeah, it's I mean, the crack in the world.
- 24:15Speaker 1: Those teams, I mean, could you think of it more
- 24:18Speaker 1: faceless franchise like had.
- 24:21Speaker 5: No juice and just left and ed left, Yeah, retirement
- 24:25Speaker 5: fred Zo, Yeah Zo left, Yeah, ed Zo left.
- 24:29Speaker 4: They had nothing.
- 24:30Speaker 1: All they got to my buddy Johnny Foresland Foresy for
- 24:34Speaker 1: he just hanging out like, buddy, you do Amazon, you
- 24:36Speaker 1: do TNT.
- 24:37Speaker 2: You don't need to do this knock out forty cracking games?
- 24:40Speaker 6: Why not? What a guy? I mean?
- 24:42Speaker 5: Yeah, well, I'm I mean, they they have some guys
- 24:45Speaker 5: they got you know, it's a bunch of second liners.
- 24:48Speaker 5: Maddy Vaniers needs to become a superstar.
- 24:51Speaker 6: It's Vanilla it's very vanilla there.
- 24:53Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly last topic, and then we'll take a break,
- 24:56Speaker 1: come back talk to the Odyssey and some other hockey news.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Avoiding arbitration. So Robertson wasn't the only player to sign
- 25:01Speaker 2: a new contript for heading to arbitration. None of the
- 25:03Speaker 2: fifteen players file for arbitration actually made it in front
- 25:06Speaker 2: of an arbitrader.
- 25:07Speaker 1: So Trevor zeger As, Jimmie Drysdale, Peyton Krabs, Connor MacMichael, Nick, Robertson,
- 25:12Speaker 1: Cole Profetti, Kirby Dock, Kira Schmidt, Cole Cylinger, Je Reeves,
- 25:15Speaker 1: all Sun Extensions, one or two of those gd that
- 25:17Speaker 1: sent it to you go, hey, I'm glad you got
- 25:19Speaker 1: that taken care of.
- 25:21Speaker 5: I think Cole Profetti's one for me. Cole Profetti kind of,
- 25:25Speaker 5: you know, struggled a little bit last year and picked
- 25:28Speaker 5: up near the end. And I think that was his
- 25:30Speaker 5: line mates more than anything, trying to figure it out.
- 25:33Speaker 5: And then you know, I you want to talk about
- 25:37Speaker 5: I think Kirby Docks another one had some injury problems
- 25:41Speaker 5: and it was good for him to kind of really
- 25:44Speaker 5: really kind of I thought he had a great playoffs
- 25:48Speaker 5: that fourth line was fantastic, got them where they needed
- 25:51Speaker 5: to go.
- 25:51Speaker 4: But but man, have you been through ARB? Nate like ours?
- 25:54Speaker 4: Everything I've heard is ARB's fucking awful. Like they like,
- 25:58Speaker 4: I heard a story.
- 25:59Speaker 5: I just missed it when I was in Dallas, but
- 26:01Speaker 5: I heard like a buddy of mine told me camer
- 26:04Speaker 5: remember who he's like the GM walked up to him
- 26:06Speaker 5: before they are meeting. It was like, no hard feelings,
- 26:10Speaker 5: He's like, what anyway your piece of shit? This guy's awful.
- 26:14Speaker 5: This like they just pull out everything.
- 26:16Speaker 7: How was I actually never made it like at in
- 26:20Speaker 7: Toronto in the room, but I was like a couple
- 26:22Speaker 7: of days before and quick story.
- 26:24Speaker 3: You know.
- 26:25Speaker 7: I was with the Islanders at the time. Gar Snow
- 26:27Speaker 7: was a general manager. He took me golfing one day
- 26:31Speaker 7: and decided we're going to golf and drink and I
- 26:33Speaker 7: was drinking at the time. Nine holes in he finally
- 26:35Speaker 7: says to me, Hey, so you're gonna go to Toronto
- 26:38Speaker 7: this weekend and I'm like, yeah, sure, yeah, And so
- 26:42Speaker 7: we ended up we ended up making a deal after
- 26:44Speaker 7: a couple of days. But when they yeah, when they
- 26:46Speaker 7: when you go through arbitration and the team, the team
- 26:49Speaker 7: and your side you know when you read.
- 26:51Speaker 6: About yourself, Like when you read about yourself.
- 26:53Speaker 7: On your side, you feel like you're Wayne Gretzky, Like
- 26:56Speaker 7: they talk about you guys if you are an unbelievable
- 26:59Speaker 7: hockey player. Now when the team writes about you, you
- 27:01Speaker 7: were like, holy fuck, you're you're questioning you are are
- 27:04Speaker 7: you playing the right sport? So it's it's it's two different,
- 27:10Speaker 7: two different extremes, but it was. It was definitely a
- 27:13Speaker 7: hell of a hell of an experience and and good
- 27:15Speaker 7: for guys to go through to realize, like that's the
- 27:18Speaker 7: business side of things.
- 27:20Speaker 4: Do they did they bring like off ice stuff into
- 27:22Speaker 4: it too.
- 27:23Speaker 6: No, it was mostly on ice. It was I your
- 27:26Speaker 6: comparables everything.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I know I heard that side.
- 27:30Speaker 5: It's like crazy where they're like they basically rip you
- 27:33Speaker 5: apart where you're the worst player in the league, ruthless,
- 27:36Speaker 5: you can have the best year of your career and
- 27:37Speaker 5: they're like this is why this guy deserves one point
- 27:41Speaker 5: five over four and.
- 27:43Speaker 4: You just and then after you walk out and they're like,
- 27:45Speaker 4: all right, see it camp pretty.
- 27:48Speaker 2: Much tough to not have hurt feelings and stuff like that.
- 27:50Speaker 1: But that's what I mean, Like yeah, yeah, like happened
- 27:53Speaker 1: in baseball, like guys like pissed, Like Okay, they've won
- 27:55Speaker 1: the case or they've lost the case. Like I'm holding
- 27:57Speaker 1: a garage over what those guys said about fix skins.
- 28:00Speaker 4: Yeah, th thick, well, girthy skin.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Cc thick All right, a week back. All of us
- 28:12Speaker 1: have seen The Odyssey and we have Yeah, and this
- 28:16Speaker 1: is gonna be great. We've never done a centiphile and sixty.
- 28:17Speaker 1: We've all seen the same movie. We're diving into. Christopher
- 28:20Speaker 1: Nolan coming up next. Also talking to old Ryan getzlat
- 28:22Speaker 1: but coming up next after this Ryan Reeves. Great guest,
- 28:26Speaker 1: funny guy inforced for a tough guy for days.
- 28:29Speaker 2: We're talking to Rebo after this. An NHL and scripted.
- 28:45Speaker 5: Our next guest was drafted by the Saint Louis Blues
- 28:48Speaker 5: in the fifth round in the two thousand and five
- 28:51Speaker 5: NHL draft. He has sixty six goals, one hundred and
- 28:53Speaker 5: forty points and one and thirty seven penalty minutes and
- 28:58Speaker 5: nine hundred and sixty two games with the Blues, Penguins, Knights, Rangers,
- 29:02Speaker 5: Wild Maple Leafs, and My Shows. He's one of the
- 29:05Speaker 5: toughest players and top personalities in the game. It's our
- 29:08Speaker 5: friend Ryan Reeves. How you doing, Buddy good Man?
- 29:13Speaker 3: He made me made me feel like a suitcase there.
- 29:15Speaker 3: That was crazy.
- 29:16Speaker 4: That was hey, I that's our that's our producer that
- 29:18Speaker 4: wrote that.
- 29:19Speaker 5: I would have just said games for the suitcases here.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Probably could have left the points out of there too.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Like hey, listen, it's one more point than anybody else
- 29:30Speaker 5: that ever played the NHL wrong. You're wrong, No man,
- 29:34Speaker 5: Talk to me about the off season.
- 29:36Speaker 4: How's it been for you? How's everything going? Kind of?
- 29:38Speaker 5: I know you're you've been talking to some teams, but
- 29:41Speaker 5: but take us through a little bit of your mindset
- 29:44Speaker 5: throughout the summer.
- 29:46Speaker 9: That's been good heads. You know, I've been training, been skating.
- 29:49Speaker 9: You know, I heard my uh broke my finger about
- 29:52Speaker 9: a month before the end of the season. So I
- 29:55Speaker 9: got back on that ice pretty quick. Not nothing crazy,
- 29:58Speaker 9: you know, twice a week. But I haven't skating and
- 30:00Speaker 9: training as much as I can. You know, free agency
- 30:04Speaker 9: has been it's been a different year. You know, I've
- 30:05Speaker 9: never gotten this long without a contract. But with my age,
- 30:09Speaker 9: I think comes a little bit of waiting and you know,
- 30:12Speaker 9: kind of last piece of the puzzle.
- 30:14Speaker 3: Uh. You know, there's a ton of guys that still
- 30:16Speaker 3: haven't signed.
- 30:16Speaker 9: So still still optimistic that I'm going to get something
- 30:20Speaker 9: to try and chase this thousand games and still you know,
- 30:22Speaker 9: hopefully chase the Stanley Cup.
- 30:24Speaker 7: Yeah, but we talked in New York about it and
- 30:26Speaker 7: just how you know you want to keep playing obviously
- 30:28Speaker 7: get to a thousand games, like if you were you know,
- 30:31Speaker 7: we have a lot of GMS to listen to the show.
- 30:33Speaker 7: If you were going to tell a GM right now,
- 30:35Speaker 7: you know why you'd come back. And you know what
- 30:37Speaker 7: you can bring to a team obviously on and off
- 30:39Speaker 7: the ice. You know, what would you say?
- 30:43Speaker 3: I mean, I bring what I've been bringing.
- 30:45Speaker 9: You know, obviously you know, at for almost forty I'm
- 30:48Speaker 9: not the same as when I was twenty five. But
- 30:51Speaker 9: you know, physicality, you know, sticking sticking up for teammates,
- 30:54Speaker 9: leave the charge off the ice, make sure that you
- 30:56Speaker 9: know the team is is close on and off the ice,
- 30:59Speaker 9: but you know, and helping out the young guys. You know,
- 31:02Speaker 9: I take a lot of pride and being a voice
- 31:04Speaker 9: for the young guys and helping them out with anything
- 31:06Speaker 9: they need.
- 31:07Speaker 3: So you know, just that's what I bring.
- 31:11Speaker 5: Talk about just the experience because you know, me and
- 31:14Speaker 5: Nate have been through it as well, and you're probably
- 31:16Speaker 5: you know, you mentioned it's your first time you've gone
- 31:19Speaker 5: this long without a contract, But like, just take us through,
- 31:21Speaker 5: because I still think you're gonna get an opportunity to
- 31:23Speaker 5: play this year at chasing a thousand games is a
- 31:26Speaker 5: beautiful thing, but but just take us through. Like the
- 31:29Speaker 5: feeling for you of having to wait this long versus
- 31:33Speaker 5: in years past where you kind of have a contract
- 31:35Speaker 5: right away.
- 31:36Speaker 9: Yeah, it's a little different. I mean, I think the
- 31:39Speaker 9: hardest part is with the family. You know, I got
- 31:41Speaker 9: to find the kids school. My son plays hockey, so
- 31:46Speaker 9: you know, getting him on a hockey team. He tried
- 31:48Speaker 9: out for the junior Sharks in San Jose just in
- 31:50Speaker 9: case we were back, made the top team there, but
- 31:53Speaker 9: obviously we're not going back, so it's it's kind of
- 31:55Speaker 9: trying to find him somewhere that he's going to fit in.
- 31:58Speaker 6: You know.
- 31:58Speaker 9: The weird thing about hockey is with these kids is
- 32:01Speaker 9: tryouts in the spring. And I think it's great anybody
- 32:05Speaker 9: listening right now, that's for hockey us a figure it out.
- 32:08Speaker 9: You got kids who are going to develop over the summers.
- 32:11Speaker 9: You got kids who are moving into town, like you're
- 32:13Speaker 9: missing out on town. So if anybody's watching, figure your
- 32:17Speaker 9: figure your stuff out there.
- 32:19Speaker 3: He's been the USA Hockey.
- 32:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I couldn't agree more.
- 32:22Speaker 7: And I'm a product of the USA Hockey. I couldn't
- 32:24Speaker 7: agree more because I never understood the spring tryout. It
- 32:28Speaker 7: just it doesn't make sense to me. Because kids also.
- 32:30Speaker 9: Get rid of this this offside rule. Yeah, get rid
- 32:32Speaker 9: of this offside rule. It's it's atrocious. It just slows
- 32:35Speaker 9: the game down. I got a lot to say about
- 32:38Speaker 9: USA hockey right now.
- 32:39Speaker 6: I love it. Uh.
- 32:41Speaker 7: You know, speaking of hockey, and you know, your defined
- 32:44Speaker 7: role and we, like I said, we've talked about it before,
- 32:46Speaker 7: but you know, I guess the role has changed over
- 32:49Speaker 7: the years. And you know, we talked about, you know,
- 32:52Speaker 7: in New York, we talked about, you know, Matthew Olivier
- 32:55Speaker 7: and how much of a good player he is and
- 32:56Speaker 7: his toughness and you know, how much respect you have
- 32:59Speaker 7: for him, and you know, talk about the evolution of
- 33:02Speaker 7: the quote unquote tough guy role and where it's at now.
- 33:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 33:06Speaker 9: I mean when I came into the league, you had
- 33:09Speaker 9: guys that were six five, you know, two hundred and
- 33:11Speaker 9: sixty pounds and seventy pounds that you know, could barely skate.
- 33:15Speaker 9: Looked like bam beyond ice. But they were they were
- 33:17Speaker 9: crazy tough, right they were.
- 33:19Speaker 3: That's what they did.
- 33:20Speaker 9: They went on the ice for it, played three minutes,
- 33:22Speaker 9: four minutes, you know, sometimes two three fights a game,
- 33:25Speaker 9: and they got you know, most of them couldn't catch
- 33:27Speaker 9: guys because they were you know, they weren't good enough
- 33:29Speaker 9: on their edges to hit anybody.
- 33:31Speaker 3: So they were just going out there to fight.
- 33:32Speaker 9: And you know, I think after the lockout, the league
- 33:37Speaker 9: kind of started getting rid of those kind of guys.
- 33:39Speaker 3: You know, teams stopped signing them.
- 33:40Speaker 9: It just seemed like that lockout in twenty I think
- 33:43Speaker 9: it was twenty twelve to twenty thirteen kind of was.
- 33:46Speaker 9: It was the beginning of that big shift. And you know,
- 33:49Speaker 9: for me, those first couple of years, I was, I
- 33:53Speaker 9: was training to fight these guys all the time, you know,
- 33:55Speaker 9: I was. I was in the gym, I was pushing
- 33:57Speaker 9: crazy weight around, do an upper body all the time.
- 34:00Speaker 9: I was working out six seven days a week just
- 34:02Speaker 9: to you know, I was boxing. And then all those
- 34:05Speaker 9: guys kind of got pushed out of the league, and
- 34:07Speaker 9: now everything started going.
- 34:08Speaker 3: A little faster.
- 34:09Speaker 9: Well, now I'm you know, I had to completely change
- 34:12Speaker 9: my training routines. You know, I was doing a lot
- 34:14Speaker 9: more sprinting and jumping and you know, working on the
- 34:17Speaker 9: hands a little bit more because you know, if I
- 34:19Speaker 9: got nobody to fight every single day like I used to, well,
- 34:22Speaker 9: if I want to stay in the league, I got
- 34:24Speaker 9: to adapt a little bit. So you know, I'm not
- 34:25Speaker 9: saying I'm the fastest guy over the best hands, but
- 34:27Speaker 9: you know, from where I first was when I first
- 34:30Speaker 9: came into the league, I definitely had to change it up.
- 34:33Speaker 4: Who would you kind of lean on for that?
- 34:34Speaker 5: Because that's fascinating, Like, I'm a huge believer in adaptability,
- 34:38Speaker 5: Like that's how you you know, you get to the
- 34:40Speaker 5: NHL by your strengths, but then you got to find
- 34:42Speaker 5: ways to stay and you got to adapt with the
- 34:44Speaker 5: game and grow with the game like you did, and
- 34:47Speaker 5: you had to do it on the fly, and you
- 34:49Speaker 5: probably started the trend of like the guys that are
- 34:52Speaker 5: uber tough that can play the game and be a
- 34:54Speaker 5: contributing fourth line, third line as well. So for you,
- 34:58Speaker 5: is there anybody who leaned on during that time to
- 35:00Speaker 5: kind of to help work with you? Or or somebody
- 35:03Speaker 5: that may the said, hey, you got to you got
- 35:06Speaker 5: to look at this a little bit differently.
- 35:09Speaker 9: Honestly, it was a lot of them are just coaches,
- 35:13Speaker 9: you know, say hey, you know, maybe this offseason, get
- 35:16Speaker 9: a little faster, you know, work on the hands a
- 35:18Speaker 9: little a little different. And you know, most of my career,
- 35:22Speaker 9: besides the first few years, I've done all my my
- 35:24Speaker 9: own training. I don't usually train with anybody else until
- 35:28Speaker 9: I get back into the city where I'm playing.
- 35:30Speaker 6: I I love to train.
- 35:32Speaker 3: I love to like pay attention to what all.
- 35:34Speaker 9: These you know, strength coaches do throughout the season, and
- 35:37Speaker 9: I just kind of take everything that they do that
- 35:39Speaker 9: works for me and I bring it into my summer
- 35:41Speaker 9: routine and then you know, the next year, you know, okay,
- 35:43Speaker 9: we're working on speed during the summer, the end of
- 35:45Speaker 9: summer when I'm in the city i'm playing in, or
- 35:48Speaker 9: you know, just throughout the season stuff that works for speed,
- 35:51Speaker 9: and then I incorporate that again. So yeah, it's been
- 35:55Speaker 9: just a lot of coaches telling me, you know, maybe
- 35:58Speaker 9: you guy change it up a little.
- 35:59Speaker 3: And you see it all the time.
- 36:01Speaker 9: You see guys who are one thing, and you know,
- 36:03Speaker 9: a coach and listening, You're gonna have to change up
- 36:05Speaker 9: your game a little. You know, maybe you're not a
- 36:07Speaker 9: goal scorer anymore, maybe you're not this and they don't
- 36:09Speaker 9: want to change. They just they think they are who
- 36:11Speaker 9: they are. And I've seen a lot of players not
- 36:15Speaker 9: make it because of that or get buried because of that.
- 36:19Speaker 6: You know, Revot being in San Jose last last season.
- 36:21Speaker 7: I know you've had a lot of questions about it,
- 36:23Speaker 7: but you got to see, you know, Maclin Celebrini kind
- 36:26Speaker 7: of you know, come into the superstar.
- 36:29Speaker 6: Role that he is now.
- 36:30Speaker 7: And we all know he's skilled and we know he
- 36:32Speaker 7: can do, you know, special things on the ice, but
- 36:35Speaker 7: it's his it's his toughness. It's his grit that I
- 36:37Speaker 7: think kind of separates him. What were what were some
- 36:40Speaker 7: examples or some things you saw last year where you
- 36:42Speaker 7: were kind of like in awe of you know, his toughness.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Basically, Yeah, I wish I could remember who it was.
- 36:50Speaker 3: We were playing Philly. I was actually hurt.
- 36:53Speaker 9: I hurt my knee or something, and I was sitting
- 36:56Speaker 9: up there watching and it was a Philly demon. I
- 36:59Speaker 9: can't exactly remember who it was, but went right after
- 37:01Speaker 9: Mac and he I think he buried him in the
- 37:03Speaker 9: corner and the pucks stay in the offensive zone and
- 37:06Speaker 9: Mac went right back at him. And I think Mac
- 37:09Speaker 9: tried burying him three times and all legally, like he
- 37:11Speaker 9: waited for the guy to have the park buried and
- 37:13Speaker 9: once took the puck from him, And it was just
- 37:15Speaker 9: like little plays like that that you don't see these
- 37:18Speaker 9: young guys be able to do anymore. Like Yeah, you know,
- 37:22Speaker 9: I think a lot of the new players coming into
- 37:24Speaker 9: the league, especially the highly skilled ones, they're not going
- 37:28Speaker 9: to the corners and grinding like Mac. And I think
- 37:30Speaker 9: that's what makes him so special. He's you know, he
- 37:32Speaker 9: stops on pucks, he does it in all three zones.
- 37:34Speaker 9: He doesn't shy away from the physical play. He's kind
- 37:38Speaker 9: of that complete player that you don't really see these
- 37:41Speaker 9: eighteen nineteen twenty year olds come into the league and
- 37:43Speaker 9: just be able to.
- 37:44Speaker 3: Turn it on like that.
- 37:46Speaker 5: He's gotten the comparison to like Sid at times. I mean,
- 37:49Speaker 5: I've compared him to Minie Sid, but you played with
- 37:51Speaker 5: both of them. Do you see any similarities between the
- 37:54Speaker 5: two or anything that jumps out off the ice?
- 37:55Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, yeah, he's I think he's the next
- 37:58Speaker 9: sid To be honest, he just just the style of
- 38:01Speaker 9: game he plays. I don't see a complete player like that.
- 38:04Speaker 9: But you know, obviously you know Nick David is a
- 38:08Speaker 9: different type of player. He his skill is in the
- 38:11Speaker 9: league his own. But just the the way Mac plays
- 38:15Speaker 9: to me, reminds me of Sit a lot.
- 38:18Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 38:18Speaker 7: I mean every time I watch him, it's it's that
- 38:20Speaker 7: that I agree with JD two and that he looks
- 38:23Speaker 7: like said a lot to me. You know, I want
- 38:26Speaker 7: to talk about you know, you just we just experienced, uh,
- 38:30Speaker 7: you know, this broadcasting camp together and you know we
- 38:32Speaker 7: we went there and you went there for the first
- 38:34Speaker 7: time just kind.
- 38:35Speaker 6: Of see, you know, is this something that you know
- 38:37Speaker 6: and you are crushed? Did he was good?
- 38:40Speaker 7: You know, you've done some stuff to the NHL before,
- 38:42Speaker 7: naturally it's just something that you're interested in maybe moving
- 38:45Speaker 7: forward postcard Yeah, after you get a thousand games.
- 38:50Speaker 9: I gotta say, first of all, I got to thank
- 38:52Speaker 9: you Nate for for bringing me in there, because I
- 38:56Speaker 9: got an email about it and I just kind of
- 38:57Speaker 9: brushed it off. And then you text me and he's like,
- 38:59Speaker 9: hey man, you should just come check it out. And
- 39:01Speaker 9: you you actually convinced me to go and I was
- 39:03Speaker 9: a little skeptical when I went of how how I
- 39:07Speaker 9: was gonna like it. You know, how everything kind of
- 39:09Speaker 9: worked and I left there with a much better taste
- 39:13Speaker 9: in my mouth. I actually really enjoyed the camp. They
- 39:16Speaker 9: put on a they put it on very well, a
- 39:18Speaker 9: lot of good information. You know, they let you practice.
- 39:23Speaker 9: It's I will say, I think before it was you know,
- 39:26Speaker 9: coaching management and then broadcasting, and you know, we're kind
- 39:29Speaker 9: of closing the gap a little bit.
- 39:31Speaker 1: It.
- 39:32Speaker 9: I think it would be fun. I think the thing
- 39:36Speaker 9: for me, it's gonna be hard to get away from
- 39:40Speaker 9: being like, you know, on a hockey team where it's coaching,
- 39:44Speaker 9: managing just kind of part of that team aspect. Now
- 39:47Speaker 9: at that camp, you guys really sold it well. It's like,
- 39:49Speaker 9: well broadcasting, you guys are a.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Team and all that.
- 39:51Speaker 9: And I did, I did see some of that. But yeah,
- 39:55Speaker 9: like I said, I think I'm I'm considering it a
- 39:57Speaker 9: lot more than.
- 39:58Speaker 3: I was before that camp.
- 40:00Speaker 5: Yeah, the team translates a little bit there. You know,
- 40:02Speaker 5: it's so hard to recreate a locker room. It'll never
- 40:06Speaker 5: be recreated. But this, you know, I feel like as
- 40:08Speaker 5: hockey players and athletes, we try to find like our
- 40:11Speaker 5: next locker room. And for me, I mean it I
- 40:15Speaker 5: was kind of skeptical at first too. My my family
- 40:18Speaker 5: and wife were like, go try it out and same
- 40:21Speaker 5: thing as you. I got done, and I was like, fuck,
- 40:23Speaker 5: I kind of like it a lot.
- 40:24Speaker 6: It's awesome.
- 40:26Speaker 4: Yeah, and then you're stock and.
- 40:28Speaker 5: Then you're gonna be You're gonna be in high demand
- 40:30Speaker 5: because you've got a great personality. You've seen You've seen
- 40:33Speaker 5: the game, and you have a different perspective than anybody
- 40:36Speaker 5: else in terms of, you know, being a guy that
- 40:39Speaker 5: had to protect his teammates as well as being a
- 40:41Speaker 5: guy that contributed in all facets of the game. I mean,
- 40:43Speaker 5: there's not a lot of that out there. So, but
- 40:45Speaker 5: is there anything you know because you have a good
- 40:49Speaker 5: relationship with Scott Oak is what I was gonna get
- 40:51Speaker 5: to in some funny tidbits when your time in Toronto.
- 40:55Speaker 5: You know he just retired, But do you ever lean
- 40:58Speaker 5: on him? Did you ever talk to him off air?
- 40:59Speaker 5: And I know he was your neighbor, I think as well,
- 41:01Speaker 5: So you know, what's your relationship with Scott Oak?
- 41:05Speaker 3: Scotty?
- 41:06Speaker 9: So Scotty's two sons, one passed away a while ago,
- 41:09Speaker 9: actually the first year I came to the league. But
- 41:12Speaker 9: Scotty's other son, Darcy, is one of my best friends
- 41:15Speaker 9: from back in back in Winnipeg.
- 41:17Speaker 3: They grew up two streets down. We hung out every
- 41:19Speaker 3: single day.
- 41:21Speaker 9: I consider you know, Scott and was also passed away
- 41:25Speaker 9: the last couple of years, but I consider them, you know,
- 41:27Speaker 9: kind of my second family.
- 41:28Speaker 3: I was with them all the time.
- 41:30Speaker 9: I don't know if I've ever really talked broadcasting with Scotty.
- 41:34Speaker 9: I just remember growing up he had this plaque in
- 41:38Speaker 9: his office and it was an award for broadcast. I
- 41:41Speaker 9: don't exactly know what it was for, but I always
- 41:43Speaker 9: just remembered saying, one of my goals in hockey is
- 41:46Speaker 9: I want to get.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Interviewed by Scottio.
- 41:48Speaker 9: I don't know, it's a weird thing to say as
- 41:51Speaker 9: a hockey player, but I always wanted that, and so
- 41:53Speaker 9: my first my first interview with Scotty was one of
- 41:56Speaker 9: the one of the coolest moments of my career.
- 41:59Speaker 6: I remember watching that one too.
- 42:01Speaker 7: Actually, I think you were talking about being I think
- 42:03Speaker 7: you're talking about being in a hot time, late night
- 42:05Speaker 7: at his house or something like that.
- 42:06Speaker 6: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember that. I remember it
- 42:09Speaker 6: was a great interview, great great interview.
- 42:13Speaker 7: You know, talk about being from Winnipeg, because I remember
- 42:16Speaker 7: I almost rented your place when I played for the
- 42:18Speaker 7: Jets there, and you know, being from Winnipeg.
- 42:21Speaker 6: Was were you a Jets fan? Were you another team
- 42:25Speaker 6: where you fan another team?
- 42:26Speaker 3: Like?
- 42:26Speaker 6: What was like? What was it like growing up in
- 42:28Speaker 6: Winnipeg being being a young kid playing hockey.
- 42:31Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean Winnipeg's cold, obviously, and so every single
- 42:37Speaker 9: community that you're in has at least one or two
- 42:41Speaker 9: outdoor rings. And so in the winter time, it doesn't
- 42:44Speaker 9: matter if it's mine is thirty forty fifty degrees out
- 42:47Speaker 9: you call the buddies of no cell phones back then, right,
- 42:49Speaker 9: so you call your buddies, Hey, meet me at the rink,
- 42:52Speaker 9: and you're out there for you know, two three hours,
- 42:54Speaker 9: and that's just what you do in Winnipeg.
- 42:57Speaker 3: Was I a Winnipeg Jets fan. I think I was
- 43:00Speaker 3: for a little bit.
- 43:01Speaker 9: You know, you go to these signings, you meet these players,
- 43:03Speaker 9: and you just kind of you start looking up to
- 43:05Speaker 9: him a little bit.
- 43:06Speaker 6: I was, you know, I was.
- 43:08Speaker 3: I was a big goalie guy back in the day.
- 43:09Speaker 9: So Patty Wall was always my favorite player and so
- 43:13Speaker 9: I was, like, you know, playing video games NHL ninety
- 43:16Speaker 9: four and Sega Genesis.
- 43:18Speaker 3: I played with Patty Wall.
- 43:19Speaker 4: All the time, and I.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Remember, I remember the year that the Jets were leaving.
- 43:25Speaker 9: I believe was the year before or sorry, was the
- 43:29Speaker 9: first year that Colorado came into the league and Patti
- 43:32Speaker 9: Wall was obviously the goalie there.
- 43:33Speaker 3: So I became a very big Colorado Avalanche fan. I was.
- 43:37Speaker 3: I was obsessed with the Avalanche.
- 43:39Speaker 9: I had my own they had their own card book,
- 43:42Speaker 9: you know that had the Collector's cards. Well, the NHL
- 43:45Speaker 9: had one and then the Colorado Avalanche had the other.
- 43:47Speaker 9: I was a big Joe sackk fan, huge Forestburg fan.
- 43:51Speaker 9: But yeah, I always wanted to be a goalie.
- 43:52Speaker 3: I was a street goalie. I played our goalie got
- 43:55Speaker 3: hurt in high school. One year.
- 43:57Speaker 9: I went in and beat him in the other goalie
- 43:59Speaker 9: in a shootout. So I always wanted to be a goalie,
- 44:02Speaker 9: but never happened that way the past. I think the
- 44:04Speaker 9: path is too expensive.
- 44:06Speaker 4: It's a way.
- 44:07Speaker 5: Yeah, it's especially now. It's crazy. But you know other
- 44:11Speaker 5: sports as well. You know, your dad and your brother
- 44:13Speaker 5: played in the CFL. Like was football ever on the
- 44:16Speaker 5: table and especially I think it's the Blue Bombers, right,
- 44:19Speaker 5: And was that ever something that you thought about football
- 44:22Speaker 5: growing up?
- 44:24Speaker 3: That was?
- 44:25Speaker 9: That was probably number one for me. I always wanted
- 44:27Speaker 9: to be a football player. It was arguably better at
- 44:31Speaker 9: football at the time when I right before I quit,
- 44:37Speaker 9: I was the number one player at Manitoba. I shit,
- 44:40Speaker 9: I'm still obsessed with football. I probably still watch football
- 44:43Speaker 9: more than I watch hockey. I probably should admit that,
- 44:45Speaker 9: but yeah, I love everything about huge fantasy guys.
- 44:50Speaker 6: Like are you going?
- 44:53Speaker 9: I'm obsessed. I'm obsessed. I stay up when I when
- 44:56Speaker 9: the kids go to bed and my wife goes to bed,
- 44:58Speaker 9: there is a solid hour to two hours where I'm
- 45:02Speaker 9: researching every single guy. I'm I'm looking at other teams
- 45:06Speaker 9: see what they need and how can I how can
- 45:08Speaker 9: I weasel these guys off? I'm like, I I study fantasy.
- 45:12Speaker 4: How many how many mock drafts have you done?
- 45:16Speaker 6: You know?
- 45:16Speaker 3: I don't do mock drafts.
- 45:18Speaker 6: I just I just study. Yeah, I just I just know.
- 45:20Speaker 3: I don't do it. I've never done one before.
- 45:23Speaker 5: Oh that's that's who. What was your did you play
- 45:27Speaker 5: with the Sharks last year? Was there a fantasy football
- 45:30Speaker 5: team did you win that I.
- 45:32Speaker 4: Did not know.
- 45:33Speaker 3: We had a We had a pretty good, pretty good league.
- 45:36Speaker 9: It was it was actually fun. This is the first year, Like,
- 45:38Speaker 9: can you guys still hear me? Yeah, you're good, You're good, Okay, sorry,
- 45:41Speaker 9: it was it was the first year that guys weren't
- 45:45Speaker 9: afraid to make trades. I remember, I think I think Smitty,
- 45:50Speaker 9: I think it was Smitty he lost his first week
- 45:52Speaker 9: or two. All of a sudden, Jamar Chase was on
- 45:55Speaker 9: the block and I ended up swooping him, and then
- 45:57Speaker 9: I want to I want to say it was Mac.
- 46:00Speaker 9: I'm not one hundred percent sure, but he lost a
- 46:02Speaker 9: few games. Bijeon was on the block also, so I
- 46:05Speaker 9: went and got bije on and so there was a
- 46:07Speaker 9: I knew there was gonna be a few weeks where
- 46:09Speaker 9: I wasn't gonna be good because my depth wasn't gonna
- 46:11Speaker 9: be good. I'm gonna need to pick up some guys
- 46:13Speaker 9: on the waiver wire. But to have Chase Bijeon, I
- 46:17Speaker 9: had Sake One at one point I traded him away.
- 46:19Speaker 9: I had Almond Ross, Saint Brown, I had Dak Prescott
- 46:22Speaker 9: like I had an absolute wagon of a team. But
- 46:24Speaker 9: then my depth guys that I picked up just weren't
- 46:28Speaker 9: panning out well. I ended up making the playoffs, but
- 46:30Speaker 9: I lost. I think I lost in the second round.
- 46:34Speaker 6: What I don't know if you said it or not.
- 46:36Speaker 6: What position did you play in football?
- 46:38Speaker 3: I know IM running back?
- 46:39Speaker 6: Running back? Oh my god, no, thank you.
- 46:45Speaker 3: And that's where I kind of so I'll tell you
- 46:46Speaker 3: a quick story. So through everybody, So where Revo was born,
- 46:55Speaker 3: my dad used.
- 46:55Speaker 9: To coach me football and I would take off, I
- 46:59Speaker 9: would I did everything, but I was handling kick returns
- 47:03Speaker 9: and there was just one play I handlekick return. I
- 47:05Speaker 9: ran up the left side and there's a bunch of
- 47:07Speaker 9: guys just kind of walling me off of the sideline
- 47:09Speaker 9: and there's one guy in front of me, and I
- 47:12Speaker 9: just kind of stepped out of bounds and my dad.
- 47:13Speaker 3: Grabbed me by the facement.
- 47:14Speaker 9: I said, you ever step out of bounds again, you
- 47:16Speaker 9: won't play another snap goes.
- 47:18Speaker 3: You've run through him. The exact same.
- 47:21Speaker 9: Play I catch, I catch the kickoff and I go
- 47:24Speaker 9: left and the same kid is right there and I
- 47:26Speaker 9: start getting walled off and I go right through. This
- 47:29Speaker 9: kid broke his collarbone. My dad was so happy he
- 47:32Speaker 9: jumps over the kid to come celebrate with me, and
- 47:35Speaker 9: I never went around another person in any sport again.
- 47:38Speaker 9: I was through everybody ever since then because.
- 47:42Speaker 4: The picture that would be.
- 47:46Speaker 6: There.
- 47:48Speaker 9: Oh God, I think his happiness was what made me
- 47:51Speaker 9: really like doing it after that, But somebody told me
- 47:55Speaker 9: a story. So one of my boys was saying, he's
- 47:58Speaker 9: boys with somebody and he said he was telling a
- 48:00Speaker 9: story about me in high school, and he said, do
- 48:02Speaker 9: you remember.
- 48:02Speaker 3: A kid that you hit? And he was he, I
- 48:06Speaker 3: guess the ice was scheduled out after and I guess.
- 48:10Speaker 9: I buried him so hard that the zamboni went out
- 48:13Speaker 9: for this second There was like ten seconds left.
- 48:14Speaker 3: The zamboni went out.
- 48:16Speaker 9: To Zamuh to do the ice after the second period,
- 48:19Speaker 9: and so we went out. There was like a body
- 48:21Speaker 9: mark on the ice, and so it was like, it's
- 48:25Speaker 9: just stuff like that. Like I just I always loved
- 48:27Speaker 9: physical play. I always loved to bury people. I like
- 48:30Speaker 9: people being scared of me. So it's just kind of
- 48:32Speaker 9: been my thing my whole life ever since that day.
- 48:36Speaker 7: You had a story h J about about him hitting
- 48:40Speaker 7: you right for the podcast, you said.
- 48:43Speaker 5: That the hardest I've ever been hitting the league where
- 48:46Speaker 5: I didn't get it I mean, I'm pretty sure had
- 48:48Speaker 5: a concussion, but I was either in I had to
- 48:51Speaker 5: have been in Florida or it was in Arizona my
- 48:55Speaker 5: first year, and I literally was I was coming down
- 49:00Speaker 5: the wall and I was it was like a three
- 49:03Speaker 5: on two. You were the little drive guy revel and
- 49:06Speaker 5: I closed quickly on the wall guy with the puck.
- 49:08Speaker 5: So I close on them and I poked check them.
- 49:11Speaker 5: So the puck kind of goes in that dead spot
- 49:12Speaker 5: in the corner and I just kind of like chip
- 49:14Speaker 5: it up the wall.
- 49:15Speaker 4: But like I'm battling with this.
- 49:16Speaker 5: Guy, I don't expect anybody to be bearing down as
- 49:19Speaker 5: I'm turning around, like you probably.
- 49:20Speaker 4: Could have destroyed me, but I think you glided into me.
- 49:24Speaker 4: But you hit me so hard.
- 49:25Speaker 5: I went from completely upright to on the ice, blinking,
- 49:30Speaker 5: being like staring at the lights like you see the movies,
- 49:33Speaker 5: like looking at the lights, being like what just happened?
- 49:36Speaker 4: And then I looked up away and.
- 49:38Speaker 6: Then I.
- 49:44Speaker 3: Gotta look that up.
- 49:45Speaker 4: I gotta I don't remember I got.
- 49:48Speaker 5: I got fucking flatlined by like I was. I blinked
- 49:51Speaker 5: twice and I went and I got to the bench
- 49:53Speaker 5: of music. You're right and I'm like, I don't know,
- 49:56Speaker 5: am I dead or I either survived it? But yeah,
- 50:01Speaker 5: you're I mean, you're told. Sorry, sorry, no, I mean
- 50:05Speaker 5: I love to hit as well. You're you're told. But
- 50:08Speaker 5: it's like those guys in the league that like you're
- 50:10Speaker 5: told before the game, like hey, when he's on the ice,
- 50:13Speaker 5: keep your head on a swivel for exactly that reason.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Just just get rid of it for the thirty seconds
- 50:18Speaker 3: he's out there, and then go play.
- 50:20Speaker 4: Up the glass glass and out all day.
- 50:22Speaker 5: But no, I want to ask you actually about you know,
- 50:26Speaker 5: you being a guy that now is an elder statesman
- 50:28Speaker 5: in the league. You have to and listen, you had
- 50:31Speaker 5: the belt, you have the heavyweight belt, and it's like
- 50:33Speaker 5: a lot of the time you get the young pups
- 50:35Speaker 5: coming up, And at what point were you kind of like, ah, god,
- 50:37Speaker 5: do I got to go do this again and again
- 50:39Speaker 5: and again and and is there anybody that kind of
- 50:42Speaker 5: stuck out to you that that you were like, Okay,
- 50:44Speaker 5: this guy could carry.
- 50:45Speaker 4: The man to once I'm gone.
- 50:48Speaker 9: I mean, to me, Olivier is probably the guy right now.
- 50:52Speaker 9: I mean, he's you know, and he's a very well
- 50:54Speaker 9: well rounded player. Like you mentioned before, he can play
- 50:57Speaker 9: the game. He puts up pretty good numbers, but he fights.
- 51:00Speaker 9: I actually really like fighting him and Dalorier, guys that
- 51:03Speaker 9: I've always.
- 51:04Speaker 3: Liked to fight.
- 51:06Speaker 9: Because I feel like we're all very technical in our fighting,
- 51:08Speaker 9: you know, while we're tough. So yeah, I would say
- 51:11Speaker 9: Olivier is, uh, you know, kind of the top guy
- 51:15Speaker 9: right now. I don't know if I've ever just gone
- 51:18Speaker 9: and be like, oh man, I gotta fight, you know,
- 51:20Speaker 9: the whole Renpy situation. I think there was a lot
- 51:23Speaker 9: of hype around that, Like he came in real hot,
- 51:26Speaker 9: he had the three fights in three games, and then
- 51:28Speaker 9: we ended up playing right after that.
- 51:29Speaker 3: You know, the hype behind that. It wasn't like, oh
- 51:31Speaker 3: I got to fight him. I was like, Okay, I'm
- 51:33Speaker 3: gonna have to. I'm gonna have to go this guy.
- 51:36Speaker 9: But you know, I don't think I've got to the
- 51:38Speaker 9: point yet where I'm just like, like, I don't want
- 51:41Speaker 9: to do that.
- 51:42Speaker 3: I think it.
- 51:43Speaker 9: I think when I retire it'll be you know, I'm
- 51:47Speaker 9: glad I don't have to fight anymore, but I still enjoyed.
- 51:50Speaker 3: I'm still fine with it. Doesn't bug me.
- 51:53Speaker 6: Are you? Are you an m M A fan too? Revo.
- 51:55Speaker 4: You like watching Love Love It, Nate's gonna watch you
- 52:01Speaker 4: do jiu jitsu with him.
- 52:04Speaker 9: I'll be honest, like, just the way my shoulders are
- 52:07Speaker 9: and my knees, if you put me in there's like
- 52:09Speaker 9: one little grab you. You could probably put me in
- 52:11Speaker 9: a pretzel. My knees and my shoulder would just snap
- 52:13Speaker 9: in half.
- 52:14Speaker 4: He'd love to jiu jitsu with you.
- 52:17Speaker 3: Really.
- 52:18Speaker 9: I was at the McGregor fight a couple of weekends ago.
- 52:21Speaker 9: Were there Wining Night?
- 52:23Speaker 4: Oh yeah I was there too.
- 52:25Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I was there.
- 52:26Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I was there too. We saw I saw
- 52:28Speaker 4: Barbershev walking around.
- 52:29Speaker 5: But yeah, I'm a huge I mean I watch every
- 52:32Speaker 5: fight down to the ones out and that are up.
- 52:34Speaker 5: I think last week was like six am. But yeah,
- 52:38Speaker 5: the best sport. It's awesome.
- 52:40Speaker 9: I would I thought there'd be a little more energy
- 52:44Speaker 9: around that fight. It felt like the Patty Pimlet fight
- 52:47Speaker 9: was a lot more energy than the McGregor fight. It
- 52:50Speaker 9: almost felt like, uh like people were scared about what
- 52:54Speaker 9: was about to happen. I when when Patty came out,
- 52:58Speaker 9: and obviously his walkout is absolutely electric, and you know
- 53:01Speaker 9: it kind of gets the crowd into it a little bit,
- 53:03Speaker 9: but yeah, I felt like there was a little little
- 53:06Speaker 9: tension with the McGregor walk out.
- 53:09Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't. I think we all want him to
- 53:11Speaker 4: be what he was, but I think we all know
- 53:12Speaker 4: that it's over.
- 53:14Speaker 5: Yeah, and he's like kind of like you're just like, okay,
- 53:16Speaker 5: just enough's enough, and I mean ends up blowing his't
- 53:18Speaker 5: leg out complete, which is crazy to me, but it's tough.
- 53:22Speaker 4: Oh my god, you know for me.
- 53:26Speaker 5: A last one for me is I wanted to talk
- 53:28Speaker 5: about your the Vegas gold Knights when you get brought
- 53:32Speaker 5: over to them, you go in that insane run. I mean,
- 53:35Speaker 5: talk about your favorite moments from that, you know, being
- 53:39Speaker 5: that you were in Vegas watching the fight as well,
- 53:41Speaker 5: and you you know, you have a home there. It's
- 53:42Speaker 5: still places you call them. You love that organization, But
- 53:45Speaker 5: just talk a little bit about that run and the
- 53:47Speaker 5: group of guys in any special moments that kind of
- 53:49Speaker 5: stand out.
- 53:52Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 53:52Speaker 9: You know, the thing about that season, I think and
- 53:55Speaker 9: I came a little late, so I wasn't there for
- 53:57Speaker 9: you know, the team really gelling together. But from what
- 54:00Speaker 9: I saw, it was just a bunch of guys you
- 54:03Speaker 9: know call rejects, you know, teams that are guys that
- 54:07Speaker 9: teams just didn't want anymore, right, they basically gave them
- 54:10Speaker 9: up for free. And I think that kind of commonality,
- 54:14Speaker 9: if that's a word, I don't know of all the
- 54:16Speaker 9: players really brought them together and just really made them,
- 54:20Speaker 9: you know, fight for that goal of you know, we're
- 54:22Speaker 9: going to prove everybody wrong. You know, that season was
- 54:25Speaker 9: absolutely electric. Even the next season was electric. Every year
- 54:28Speaker 9: that I was here, it was was a lot of fun.
- 54:30Speaker 9: But you know, playoffs that first season was unbelievable. The city,
- 54:35Speaker 9: the way the city jumped behind the team. I couldn't
- 54:38Speaker 9: drive more than twenty feet without seeing a big Golden
- 54:42Speaker 9: Knights you know, to cal flag license plate, like it
- 54:45Speaker 9: was everywhere. The city just jumped all over them. And yeah,
- 54:50Speaker 9: it was a lot of fun. I think my favorite
- 54:52Speaker 9: moment obviously, that was the only time I ever went
- 54:54Speaker 9: to the Stanley Cup finals. I was fortunate enough to
- 54:57Speaker 9: score the you know, the game winning goal to send
- 55:00Speaker 9: us to the finals. So I think, you know, that's
- 55:02Speaker 9: probably the best moment in my career. That was also
- 55:04Speaker 9: in Winter Peg in my hometown, so you know, I
- 55:06Speaker 9: guess that would be the most memorable for me.
- 55:10Speaker 7: Yeah, that was the hell of a run. I remember
- 55:12Speaker 7: being on the Kings. You guys swept us in the
- 55:13Speaker 7: first round and that was it.
- 55:15Speaker 9: Well, the Kings talked a lot of Kings talked a lot.
- 55:18Speaker 3: Of ship about that that series. Didn't they didn't they
- 55:22Speaker 3: not a whole lot, not a whole lot.
- 55:25Speaker 6: You know what.
- 55:26Speaker 9: The Drew Dowdy quote was on the ice before the game,
- 55:31Speaker 9: and like, I think they put it on the I
- 55:33Speaker 9: think it was part of the pre game.
- 55:34Speaker 4: It was I was on the.
- 55:36Speaker 9: Jumbo tron and then put all over the ice and
- 55:38Speaker 9: then bang bang bang bang.
- 55:41Speaker 4: Oh it was Yes, what did he say? I can't remember.
- 55:46Speaker 9: He's he said the Vegas Golden Knights will never be
- 55:50Speaker 9: a better team than the Laks something like that, you
- 55:53Speaker 9: know what I mean. It's like like hockey is not
- 55:55Speaker 9: going to work there. They'll never be a better team
- 55:57Speaker 9: than us.
- 55:57Speaker 5: And then yeah, bolton board material at its finest. I mean, actually,
- 56:05Speaker 5: I gotta go ahead tell.
- 56:09Speaker 8: No, no, you guys, You guys honestly asked all the
- 56:12Speaker 8: questions I was.
- 56:12Speaker 4: I was going to ask, how we stole it? I
- 56:15Speaker 4: stole It's all good, It's all good. I got I
- 56:17Speaker 4: just got a text.
- 56:19Speaker 5: I got a text from Tyler to Foley before we
- 56:22Speaker 5: came on, and I said, any tidbits, And he said,
- 56:25Speaker 5: ask Revo if he thinks he's the best poker player.
- 56:29Speaker 3: I think he knows. I think he knows the answer
- 56:32Speaker 3: to that.
- 56:33Speaker 9: When I don't pay out one time all year, I got,
- 56:38Speaker 9: I got to use my poker money to pay all
- 56:41Speaker 9: my trainer tips. I think, I I you know, I
- 56:43Speaker 9: bought the kids something. I think I bought myself a
- 56:45Speaker 9: new laptop, like I was. I was laughing.
- 56:48Speaker 4: He's sad to say you were the best.
- 56:52Speaker 9: Well, it's not a question though, Like of course I'm
- 56:55Speaker 9: going to say that if it's fact, I don't I
- 56:57Speaker 9: don't sit here and lie about things.
- 56:58Speaker 3: But I didn't pay a single dollar all year.
- 57:01Speaker 9: I'd come with full receipts and most of them are
- 57:03Speaker 9: from I mean some of them from him.
- 57:09Speaker 5: Ryan Reeves, man, thank you so much for the time,
- 57:12Speaker 5: good luck. I'm sure you're going to land in a
- 57:14Speaker 5: spot this year and get to a thousand and you
- 57:17Speaker 5: got a long, long broadcasting career if you want it.
- 57:19Speaker 4: Afterwards, I appreciate you guys.
- 57:22Speaker 6: Thanks Revo.
- 57:31Speaker 2: All right, thanks again to Ryan Reeves.
- 57:32Speaker 1: He was fantastic. We will get to more hockey in
- 57:34Speaker 1: just a second. We do want to talk about the Odyssey.
- 57:36Speaker 6: It is the movie of the.
- 57:37Speaker 1: Summer, the film event of the summer. Christopher Nolan. People
- 57:39Speaker 1: just losing their minds over it. It's interesting when you
- 57:42Speaker 1: go into a movie like this with gargantuan expectations. I
- 57:44Speaker 1: saw it on a Friday night opening night Imax, Third Row,
- 57:48Speaker 1: locked in and here's the thing, JD. People just I
- 57:52Speaker 1: mean they just a fanboy for Knowlan like it wouldn't
- 57:54Speaker 1: believe it's It's like me and Scorsese.
- 57:56Speaker 2: They just lose their minds.
- 57:57Speaker 1: So I always feel like when you walk in, they go,
- 57:58Speaker 1: how incredible was it? I go, well, like what this
- 58:02Speaker 1: It's a really good movie. I just don't think it's
- 58:05Speaker 1: the greatest thing I've ever seen in my life.
- 58:07Speaker 2: Can I offer some criticism? So let me just start
- 58:09Speaker 2: with the positive. Yes, it's an enormous spectacle.
- 58:12Speaker 1: I gave him full credit because this guy is so
- 58:14Speaker 1: anti cgiz No, We're going in an actual boat, We're
- 58:17Speaker 1: going in the river like it's gonna be a legit thing.
- 58:19Speaker 1: We're gonna have a cyclops as much as possible. We're
- 58:22Speaker 1: gonna make this realistic. And I appreciate that, like he's
- 58:25Speaker 1: he wants to make it truly grounded. I can see
- 58:27Speaker 1: the tour of fifty million dollars he's spent when I'm
- 58:28Speaker 1: watching this movie, and the ending is fantastic. He knows
- 58:32Speaker 1: how to make a crowd pleasing movie. And the performance
- 58:34Speaker 1: is generally speaking, across the board, very strong. Matt Damon
- 58:36Speaker 1: love Pattinson hamming.
- 58:37Speaker 6: It up as the villain.
- 58:39Speaker 1: But my issue with this little long in the tooth. Now,
- 58:42Speaker 1: I know it's the honysty, but two forty five plus
- 58:44Speaker 1: thirty minutes of trailers, you're asking a lot of an
- 58:46Speaker 1: audience three point fifteen ass in the seat.
- 58:49Speaker 2: I also think Nolan as great a director as he is,
- 58:51Speaker 2: and he's a brilliant.
- 58:52Speaker 1: Director, visionary director, spectacle.
- 58:54Speaker 2: Oh it's amazing what we sit on the screen.
- 58:56Speaker 1: I do think some of his dialogue a little clunky,
- 58:58Speaker 1: and you know this being married to an actress. He
- 59:00Speaker 1: doesn't only give his actors like big monologues. It doesn't
- 59:03Speaker 1: only give his actress. He is plot over character. It
- 59:06Speaker 1: is just moments and moments and scenes. I'm like, hey,
- 59:09Speaker 1: but where's like that scene? Like the actors get to
- 59:10Speaker 1: dive in, you know, so I really liked it a lot.
- 59:13Speaker 1: But I'm gonna tell you I'm not rushing out to
- 59:15Speaker 1: go watch it again. People like I'm gonna go see
- 59:17Speaker 1: it three more times, Like no, I mean I might
- 59:19Speaker 1: watch Agains streaming a lot.
- 59:20Speaker 2: To be honest with you, this movie to watch on
- 59:22Speaker 2: the IMAX, So I don't.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Think I can I can match an experience again. So
- 59:25Speaker 1: I know this sounds like a tempered review. I thought
- 59:27Speaker 1: it was a really good movie. I really enjoyed it,
- 59:29Speaker 1: and I'm sure it's gonna be nominated for a bunch
- 59:31Speaker 1: of Oscars. But I'm not losing my shit over the
- 59:33Speaker 1: Odyssey JD.
- 59:34Speaker 5: Go ahead, Uh yeah, I mean way too much time
- 59:37Speaker 5: spent on the cyclop scene and they didn't even articulate
- 59:41Speaker 5: it in the right way. There wasn't enough context about
- 59:43Speaker 5: what to me what I said, is this okay? I thought, here,
- 59:48Speaker 5: actually the first time we might have agreed on yes
- 59:51Speaker 5: on a movie too long. But for me, and that's
- 59:55Speaker 5: the style of no one like this kind of story needs.
- 59:59Speaker 5: If you're gonna make it long, there needs to be
- 1:00:01Speaker 5: a lot of context in every scene. It felt like
- 1:00:03Speaker 5: it was but rushed.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: That's great.
- 1:00:06Speaker 5: I felt like every scene was rushed, and I'm like, okay,
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: this is like an epic book. I'm almost borderline split
- 1:00:11Speaker 5: it into two movies.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: If you want to.
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: Really take a shot at it and take a crack
- 1:00:15Speaker 5: at it, do it like all the Marvel movies are
- 1:00:17Speaker 5: doing it. Break it up into two. But I felt
- 1:00:20Speaker 5: like the scenes that deserve to have more time weren't
- 1:00:23Speaker 5: given the time they needed because if you're quoting the
- 1:00:27Speaker 5: source material, which he kind of pick and choose where
- 1:00:29Speaker 5: he went with source material, but if you're really quoting
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: that that book, and there are scenes that deserve a
- 1:00:36Speaker 5: lot more time.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: And I thought it was like, all right.
- 1:00:38Speaker 5: Let's just colmb through the book, cumb through the main parts,
- 1:00:42Speaker 5: and then, like I said, you talk about the practical effects,
- 1:00:47Speaker 5: but like you're doing practical effects, but you're just I
- 1:00:50Speaker 5: feel like you wanted to do a long Cyclops scene
- 1:00:53Speaker 5: because you did practical effects and you wanted to show
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: everybody that you're you're moving a paper mache cyclops around,
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: and I'm like, good for you, that's great, but you
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: didn't even kind of honor that that scene in the
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: right way, and you didn't give enough life to it.
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: Of like that is Poseidon's son and that is like
- 1:01:10Speaker 5: a huge part in the book of like what Damn's
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: Matt Damon and all that. So yeah, so to me,
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: it's kind of like that. But I thought Anne Hathaway
- 1:01:20Speaker 5: was incredible.
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:01:22Speaker 5: I love Robert Pattinson as a little sniveling villain. I
- 1:01:26Speaker 5: think he's great. But you could see also the levels
- 1:01:29Speaker 5: and the actors. I don't know if Tom Holland's cut
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: out for great.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: Point me who was the weakest performance? I go, I
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: didn't think Holland was great.
- 1:01:36Speaker 4: I didn't think he really hung his own anyway. That's
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: my thoughts. Sorry, as long when Nate hit it.
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: Oh, I mean, let's be honest, like when it comes
- 1:01:43Speaker 7: to this whole screen here, I'm by far the biggest
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: rookie when it comes to the film industry and knowing
- 1:01:47Speaker 7: my and knowing my shit right by far. But I
- 1:01:51Speaker 7: will say that I I did know the story and
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: you're right. There were a lot of different scenarios where
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: it was like, you're right, Like it skipped over a lot,
- 1:02:00Speaker 7: like the part even when he's with calypso like it
- 1:02:02Speaker 7: was like not a whole lot was described about that,
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: And I guess there's certain things and I like your point,
- 1:02:09Speaker 7: gud of how if he would have broke it in
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: two movies, like two films, like how much how much
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: more detail he could have been And I mean it
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: would would hook line and syncer for fans like if
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: you have two parts to that, like it's just more
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: money obviously. But overall though I thought it was, it
- 1:02:25Speaker 7: was it was super entertaining, like the I think with
- 1:02:28Speaker 7: Christopher Nolan what he does when he just captures a
- 1:02:30Speaker 7: sound so well and you're just from the beginning to
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: the end, you're you're locked in because of it. So
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: but I I would agree, though I think you're right,
- 1:02:39Speaker 7: there's there are a lot of details that were that
- 1:02:41Speaker 7: were missed.
- 1:02:41Speaker 6: For sure.
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: I'm a Nolan nerd. I'm a Nolan nerd. To go
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: tell like I love all and not like I love Tenant,
- 1:02:47Speaker 5: I love I'm a huge anyway, go.
- 1:02:49Speaker 6: Tell I loved it.
- 1:02:50Speaker 8: I love I mean, I'll see the point that that
- 1:02:53Speaker 8: maybe too, you know, two parter would have worked. I
- 1:02:56Speaker 8: would have gone to see both of them. I liked it,
- 1:02:59Speaker 8: absolutely riveted the entire time. I was completely amped up.
- 1:03:02Speaker 8: After it was over, I got.
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: Home and I was like, oh has returned.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Wife was like yeah, Yeah, after watching.
- 1:03:13Speaker 4: I Am Back.
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: He walked in with the boat, he walked in with
- 1:03:18Speaker 5: the bow and just like Daddy's Home, they say he
- 1:03:22Speaker 5: walked in with a bone. Room like, oh my god,
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: I have I was that. Well, I loved he pulled
- 1:03:28Speaker 5: on his bone.
- 1:03:30Speaker 2: Tell you dialogues a little clunky, little expertise.
- 1:03:32Speaker 6: Well, it's funny. It's funny you say that. There's a
- 1:03:35Speaker 6: lot of like contemporary language.
- 1:03:37Speaker 8: What I'm saying, it's not like the classic like Shakespearean
- 1:03:40Speaker 8: language you usually see. Like there's a moment, you know,
- 1:03:43Speaker 8: spoiler alert, they storm Troy. Anyways, there's a moment where
- 1:03:47Speaker 8: where they're they're storming Troy and one of the guys
- 1:03:49Speaker 8: goes come on like.
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: You know, and there were definitely a couple of let's go,
- 1:03:58Speaker 2: let's go.
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: It was like, I had no problem with it. It
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: was kind of funny.
- 1:04:02Speaker 8: But I I really loved it with Gornson, Yeah, he's
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: getting a fourth Oscar, I think.
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: Yeah, John loved j John performance. He wouldn't know what
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: he's doing in this movie.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: But he's shocking to see him in this movie, is it?
- 1:04:19Speaker 6: Yeah? But I he was talking about the guy remember
- 1:04:22Speaker 6: the Titans, Remember the Titans. Who is that? You know
- 1:04:25Speaker 6: what I'm talking about? Who's that?
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: John likes the Blind?
- 1:04:30Speaker 6: No? Sorry, I was off topic. Now I'm gonna shut
- 1:04:34Speaker 6: up down.
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: Who remember the Titan.
- 1:04:36Speaker 6: I'm gonna look this up. Remember the title? Gary Bertier.
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: Yes, he's he.
- 1:04:46Speaker 5: Texture of Tom Holland, he's got a quick he's got
- 1:04:49Speaker 5: a quick foray into it. But no, but John, like Gizmo,
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: I was reading some I was reading, I was watching
- 1:04:54Speaker 5: a couple of interviews.
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: Every every interviewer was like, don't.
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: Take this the wrong way, but like this is your
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: best performance by mile and like your career. And he
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: was like I know, he's like he's like I'm really
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: honored that.
- 1:05:07Speaker 6: Like it was.
- 1:05:08Speaker 4: He was fantastic.
- 1:05:09Speaker 6: He described it too.
- 1:05:11Speaker 7: How did you see that where he talked about how
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: he was literally blind all day, like for like twelve hours.
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: He would just would It was just people were like
- 1:05:20Speaker 6: taking him to.
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: The bathroom and like foot hot sauce in his eyes.
- 1:05:23Speaker 7: I don't know what something like make it look yeah,
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: like like basically so he had to be blind for
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: the movie.
- 1:05:30Speaker 4: Yeah, and then what do we think of Sean Avery
- 1:05:32Speaker 4: making another appearance?
- 1:05:34Speaker 5: Then him going on the interview is the hardest thing.
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: You got to give it to him. He's in the
- 1:05:41Speaker 6: whole movie.
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: He had a good size role.
- 1:05:43Speaker 6: He was he didn't he's fine. He was good.
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: Yeah, he's he's around always. He just makes it. Oh my.
- 1:05:49Speaker 4: I mean the best scene in the movie.
- 1:05:52Speaker 2: How about the Morton turning them into pigs.
- 1:05:55Speaker 5: The surces scene was incredible. The fact that they did
- 1:05:58Speaker 5: that with practical effects is pretty crazy. She was actually
- 1:06:02Speaker 5: sculpting things. But that's that scene was great toward.
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: The practical effects.
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: That is an excellent way of phrasing what Nolan is
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: always going for rather than c G I tal you're
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: I want you this then, because if you loved it
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: and j D and are a huge Nolan fans, but
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: we didn't love it, Like I've got Memento ahead of it,
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: I've got The Dark Night ahead of it, I've got
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Oppenheimer ahead of it, i got insaw Me ahead of it, Pacino, Robert.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: Williams, Hillary Swank, Inception two, that's.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: Inception maybe fifth tw Are you putting honestly top five?
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: No one, top three, No one?
- 1:06:34Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, I mean, it's just it's such a turn
- 1:06:39Speaker 8: that we throw out liberally, but like sweeping epic, definitely.
- 1:06:42Speaker 8: I think just the size. It's so huge. It's so big,
- 1:06:46Speaker 8: you know, I I I know, like it's the most
- 1:06:48Speaker 8: popular of all time, and everyone's going to see it
- 1:06:51Speaker 8: two three times, so we can.
- 1:06:53Speaker 2: Like nitpick and no, no, this and this sort of Yeah,
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: I'm not having it.
- 1:06:56Speaker 6: I think it's it's fantastic.
- 1:06:58Speaker 4: I won't go this slash j are not going to
- 1:07:01Speaker 4: go see it again, like I saw it once and
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: I won't.
- 1:07:04Speaker 5: It's too long to lock in that and that's the
- 1:07:07Speaker 5: problem is so long. But there's other long movies that
- 1:07:10Speaker 5: I've seen that I want rewatched over and over again.
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: This one I won't. Probably I didn't think it felt long.
- 1:07:15Speaker 6: I don't think so.
- 1:07:16Speaker 8: And if if a friend hadn't seen it and wanted
- 1:07:18Speaker 8: to see it and invited me, I'd probably.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: Go check it out, go see it again. Will you
- 1:07:23Speaker 2: watch it again streaming?
- 1:07:26Speaker 6: It's kind of I might, but it's kind of a
- 1:07:28Speaker 6: waste exact film.
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: You got to see it, you gotta see Yeah, you
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: got to see that in the theater. The final scene
- 1:07:34Speaker 4: is great when he just fucking dog walks everybody in there.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but the next point that locked the doors because no. Look,
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: he's a great crowd pleaser.
- 1:07:41Speaker 8: Like Damon is amazing. Damon's beard, Damon's beard should get
- 1:07:45Speaker 8: a nomination. I think that what you know incredible.
- 1:07:50Speaker 2: There have been longer movies that I've been more excited
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: to go watch again.
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: I watched The Irishman three times in the movie theaters.
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: That's a longer movie. The Irishman's a three fifteen.
- 1:07:57Speaker 6: I got that.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: To me was just that is a grand, sweeping epic
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: that I could I could watch endlessly. So and Lords
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: of Arabia's but I know it tells point.
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: V Anne Hathaway wins an Oscar for that.
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: It's a great point acting nomination. I think Halfway definitely
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: gets nominated. I think Damon might get nominated for Best Actor.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: Probably those two have a.
- 1:08:14Speaker 4: Good show, like Amo best supporting.
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: I know, if being outside looking in, but I'd love
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: to see it.
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: I mean the story, he'll get a shot.
- 1:08:21Speaker 7: What's the actor's name? Supporting actor for Matt Damon. He
- 1:08:26Speaker 7: was on the ballard man tell yes, yeah, he was
- 1:08:29Speaker 7: great too. I thought he was really he was really good.
- 1:08:31Speaker 7: His little yeah, a little partner.
- 1:08:33Speaker 6: The acting was excellent.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: All right, we get back to that's the longest ever
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: centiph in sixty. But it was worth it quite frankly.
- 1:08:38Speaker 2: It was the Odyssey, so it's the longest we were
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: ever gonna watch.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: All together, so we had to do it. Marino going
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: along in Utah didn't get a ton of attention. But
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: John Marino JD eight years, fifty four million, breakout season
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: in Utah, thirty six points, a plus forty two reign
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: in that ranked fifteen AHL.
- 1:08:55Speaker 6: That caught me by surprise.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: Now part of a core that's locked in Logan Cooley,
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: Clayton Keller, Nick.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Schmaltz, We love Schmaltzy, Dylan Gunther, Vincent Trochik, Serga, Chef
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: Wiger Mamelka. You got top prospects of ts Aginla, Jerome
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: Sun and Caleb Danoy on the way Central stacked dark
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: Horse Utah.
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: What do you got?
- 1:09:15Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:09:15Speaker 5: I would I would put a futures bed in sprinkle
- 1:09:18Speaker 5: that you know, you could maybe see a cup run
- 1:09:20Speaker 5: by these guys too. I think this is they got
- 1:09:22Speaker 5: a lot of pieces at it in place. I think
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: if they can stay healthy, the John Marino signings great.
- 1:09:28Speaker 5: I think he's a very underrated defenseman the NHL. When
- 1:09:31Speaker 5: he's healthy, him and Nate Schmid were incredible last year
- 1:09:35Speaker 5: and I think they got valuable Uh, they got valuable.
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: Experience in the playoffs. I think they really did this core.
- 1:09:44Speaker 5: Clayton Keller has been an absolute locked in machine this summer.
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: I think he's been with skating a week after. It
- 1:09:51Speaker 5: feels like he's just I was talking. He's out in asy,
- 1:09:54Speaker 5: He's ready to go. The addition of Trocheck anders league
- 1:10:00Speaker 5: good veterans. I like their decore, I like everything about him.
- 1:10:03Speaker 5: It's going to be we'll see if the coaching can
- 1:10:06Speaker 5: stay hot with them and and can stay kind of
- 1:10:10Speaker 5: keep the guys moving in the right direction and and
- 1:10:13Speaker 5: but yeah, I expect I expect Nate this team to
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: do some some sneaky damage in this division. And I
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: wouldn't be surprised if they dethrown one of the top three.
- 1:10:23Speaker 7: This This is a crazy, crazy take, But like I
- 1:10:28Speaker 7: don't think, yeah, they I think they could win the division.
- 1:10:30Speaker 6: I mean, you look at their I really do. I think.
- 1:10:33Speaker 7: I think if they stay healthy and there's a chance
- 1:10:35Speaker 7: and everything goes right for this team, like they are
- 1:10:38Speaker 7: you when you add like when you add Vincent Trocheck
- 1:10:40Speaker 7: and unders lead to already their team that they had
- 1:10:43Speaker 7: and that like they have some explosive offense, like they
- 1:10:46Speaker 7: can these these guys could move the puck, they can skate,
- 1:10:49Speaker 7: they can make plays. And now you add that and
- 1:10:52Speaker 7: and like I said, you lock up their decoor with
- 1:10:55Speaker 7: you know, with Marino and I mean everything they have.
- 1:10:58Speaker 7: I mean they they have kind of everything now and
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: you know, along with the other teams in the Central vision,
- 1:11:04Speaker 7: I would not be surprised if Utah is right up there,
- 1:11:07Speaker 7: like like Jad said, as a Cup contender.
- 1:11:10Speaker 6: It makes a long run because you know.
- 1:11:12Speaker 7: They had a they had a real good shot against
- 1:11:14Speaker 7: Vegas like that that that yeah, they have gone either way.
- 1:11:17Speaker 6: It really it really could have. Yeah, I wouldn't be
- 1:11:21Speaker 6: surprised one't bit.
- 1:11:22Speaker 4: We'll Steevin malcap like go ahead, no, go ahead.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: I was gonna say if Malco is a guy that
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: can steal a series. And sometimes when you come in
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: with the right approach, if you're you know, a little
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: under the radar, that can be helpful to you.
- 1:11:32Speaker 2: It's an it's an intriguing collection of players.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Like if you say, okay, I want some side, I
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: want some speed, I want some scoring, Like that's the part,
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Like I think it's relatively bounced veterans, yeah, players, et cetera.
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: And then if Cooley and Gunther take another step forward,
- 1:11:45Speaker 5: they're gonna be even more dominant. And then they went
- 1:11:47Speaker 5: and picked up Sebastian Cosa as well, like they brought
- 1:11:51Speaker 5: in some goaltending depth, and Cosa's was that Detroit's like
- 1:11:54Speaker 5: best prospect. That was probably their best prospect.
- 1:11:58Speaker 4: That they had.
- 1:11:59Speaker 5: And he's supposed to be like a lot of people
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: talked about him being like a future NHL starter, So
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: this could be an interesting, you know year for them,
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: and on excitement around the mammoth.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: Uh not the taals Guy Combe fior is no com
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: menia I think was the guy who's line?
- 1:12:15Speaker 6: Is it anyway?
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: Plenty of in shrinking free age is still available Michael Bunting,
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: John Klingberg, Logan, stan Lee Connor, Ingram, Vladimir Tersenko, but
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: Patrick line is still available.
- 1:12:24Speaker 6: Nate.
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: He scored one hundred and thirty goals first four seasons
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: with Anipeg oh Man, this guy's a legit fifteen. They
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: hit fifteen power play goals fifty two games in Montreal
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: two seasons ago. But now there's chatter he might not
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: be in the NHL. He played just five games the
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: Habs last season.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: What happens in lone? Are you playing overseas? If you're
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: Patrick Liner.
- 1:12:42Speaker 6: I mean, at this point it's it's it's looking like that.
- 1:12:45Speaker 7: And if he I mean, if he ends up getting
- 1:12:48Speaker 7: any any kind of deal, it's going to be on
- 1:12:49Speaker 7: a PTO somewhere. Unfortunately, this is just this is how
- 1:12:54Speaker 7: it happens in the league. I mean, you can it
- 1:12:57Speaker 7: only takes a couple of years, it really does. And
- 1:12:59Speaker 7: once general managers kind of get the rap sheet and
- 1:13:02Speaker 7: understand that said, that's all it is, get on you
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: and they know, then it's it's everyone's moving on. And
- 1:13:10Speaker 7: it's gonna be a lot harder to sign the contract.
- 1:13:12Speaker 7: And I don't know what he's looking for, what he wants,
- 1:13:14Speaker 7: but if he's going to stay in the NHL, it's
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: gonna have to be on a PTO.
- 1:13:18Speaker 5: Wow, Nate said, it off air the books out on him.
- 1:13:23Speaker 5: If you're a GM and you it takes one or
- 1:13:25Speaker 5: two bad recommendations from a coach and coaching staff and
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: an organization, and it's very tough to find a home.
- 1:13:33Speaker 5: I can't imagine. Saint Louis had glowing remarks for him
- 1:13:38Speaker 5: and he probably carries a lot of weight as a coach.
- 1:13:42Speaker 5: If somebody gets injured close to training camp or in
- 1:13:45Speaker 5: training camp, I could see him. That's like part of
- 1:13:48Speaker 5: a big power play. I could see somebody bringing him in.
- 1:13:52Speaker 5: But yeah, I I I'm hard pressed to think that
- 1:13:56Speaker 5: if I was him, I'd just go to the KHL
- 1:13:58Speaker 5: for a year and make a big ticket and try
- 1:14:00Speaker 5: to come back.
- 1:14:02Speaker 8: He's a huge deal in Finland. He's still a pretty
- 1:14:04Speaker 8: big celebrity there. When he came into the league, he
- 1:14:06Speaker 8: was like justin Bieber in Finland, he was nice, huge,
- 1:14:11Speaker 8: might be the talent and it's great.
- 1:14:13Speaker 7: And I'll say this like because I crossed passes them
- 1:14:15Speaker 7: just for a little bit. When I was in Winnipeg
- 1:14:17Speaker 7: he was traded after like I don't know that. Right
- 1:14:20Speaker 7: at the beginning of the season training camp for Pierre
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: the Dublad, I was there and like, I have never
- 1:14:24Speaker 7: seen someone shoot the puck like this in practice, like
- 1:14:27Speaker 7: where he could score at will. So it's like it's
- 1:14:29Speaker 7: it's tough because it's like, fuck, this guy has got
- 1:14:32Speaker 7: so much talent, could you know?
- 1:14:34Speaker 6: It's just unbelievable. I've never seen anyone shoot the puck
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: like this. Guy. So good luck to him, though, Let's
- 1:14:40Speaker 6: hope that he has a chance somewhere and so.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: Long soupy happy trails of Jack Campbell announcing his retirement
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: last week after eight NHL seasons, eleventh overall pick and
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: the twenty ten draft. Struggled to make in the NHL,
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: but eventually found his game in Toronto before getting paid
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: by Edmonton. Former top goalie prospect, very candid about issues
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: off the field. Again, you've talked about substance abuse, JD.
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: You've talked about anxiety. Campbell, you talked about anxiety. He
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: attacks burnout, plans on working now, his identity and performance coach.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: And I think it's one of those guys his legacy
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: might be more about what he was about off the
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: ice that wasn't on the ice.
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean I played with Soupie. Great, great human
- 1:15:18Speaker 7: being he has. He's he's a great guy, the best.
- 1:15:22Speaker 7: He's been through a lot and but just the nicest
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: human and and and and good on him too, Like
- 1:15:28Speaker 7: the guy went through a lot in his career where
- 1:15:30Speaker 7: you know, he's a first round pick and then you
- 1:15:32Speaker 7: know the kind of the wheels fall off and it
- 1:15:34Speaker 7: takes him a while and he gets back to the NHL,
- 1:15:36Speaker 7: and you know, and then and all of a sudden,
- 1:15:37Speaker 7: he's a number one guy and he gets a big
- 1:15:39Speaker 7: deal and you know, has a pretty good NHL career.
- 1:15:41Speaker 7: So I'm a huge Jack Campbell fan, always, always will
- 1:15:46Speaker 7: be just a great human and you know, just a
- 1:15:48Speaker 7: good example for a lot of.
- 1:15:49Speaker 6: People to see what it takes to be open about it.
- 1:15:54Speaker 7: You know, like he's been so open about it, and
- 1:15:55Speaker 7: I think that, uh, you know, kudos, kudos a soupie.
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a gig. He dealt with a lot of stuff.
- 1:16:03Speaker 5: I talked to him a little bit as his last year,
- 1:16:05Speaker 5: and I saw it when my last year when I
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: went to Edmonton, when I ran into him, and you know,
- 1:16:12Speaker 5: the small portion of time I was with him at
- 1:16:15Speaker 5: training camp, and then I saw him later when he
- 1:16:18Speaker 5: was in Bakersfield or Tucson.
- 1:16:20Speaker 4: He was in Bakersfield.
- 1:16:21Speaker 5: I saw him in Tucson and I had retired, and
- 1:16:23Speaker 5: I kind of talked to him a little bit and
- 1:16:25Speaker 5: I was like, yeah, you could just see the struggling
- 1:16:28Speaker 5: of burnout, anxiety. You know, now he's going to be
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: a life coach, performance coach. Look good for him. You know,
- 1:16:35Speaker 5: it's it really is about what you do after the game.
- 1:16:38Speaker 5: And I think he realized that, you know, it's not
- 1:16:40Speaker 5: who you are, it's what you It's just what you
- 1:16:42Speaker 5: do playing hockey, and you really got to find yourself
- 1:16:45Speaker 5: and not get wrapped up in it. So and but
- 1:16:48Speaker 5: when he was on, man he was on like he
- 1:16:51Speaker 5: was a premier goalie when he was on. It just
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: was tough for him to find consistency with a lot
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: of the stuff he was doing with mentally. But when
- 1:16:58Speaker 5: he was on, he was such a good goalie man,
- 1:17:00Speaker 5: especially those in LA. A couple of times in LA
- 1:17:03Speaker 5: he was fucking stout back there.
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: That's the luck to him now.
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: As I said, an identity and performance coach. A couple
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: more topics, how about Ryan Getz laugh big? They mentioned
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: my Hockey Canada. They get their team ready for the
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: World Juniors in December and Edmonton and Red Deer. He'll
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: serve as an assistant coach and the teams are serving
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: as a development coach of the Ducks and then an
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: advisor to Hockey Canada for Nations, Olympics and World Championships.
- 1:17:25Speaker 2: I always say this with the World Juniors, j D.
- 1:17:26Speaker 2: I mean I want to win every year.
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: Is Canada, but we have to win, definitely at a
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: home soil Edmonton and Red Deer, the pressures on the Canadians.
- 1:17:32Speaker 2: What do you think of gets laugh and making this
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: transition now off the ice as a coach.
- 1:17:37Speaker 4: Well, he's been doing it.
- 1:17:38Speaker 5: He's been slowly getting into it with Anaheim right date.
- 1:17:40Speaker 5: You probably see him around like he's been. He's been around.
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: He's a well respected guy too, and you know he's
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: had a great, incredible career and was a great player,
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: great teammate, great leader. So it seems like it's it's
- 1:17:53Speaker 5: the natural evolution for him. I think Hockey Canada needs
- 1:17:57Speaker 5: to really we need to figure it out. We need
- 1:17:59Speaker 5: to get moved in the right direction. Been tough sledding
- 1:18:03Speaker 5: for us on the development side of things. But you know,
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: he's a good guy to bring in one hundred percent.
- 1:18:10Speaker 7: Yeah, I know, I think this is a great move
- 1:18:11Speaker 7: for Hockey Canada. I mean, just you know, Gets he's
- 1:18:14Speaker 7: obviously a super smart guy. But I think you know,
- 1:18:16Speaker 7: you look at it too, like I wonder, you know,
- 1:18:18Speaker 7: because you said it's been a bit of a struggle
- 1:18:20Speaker 7: for Hockey Canada developing. Like he goes down to the
- 1:18:23Speaker 7: World Juniors, he coaches and then probably goes back with
- 1:18:27Speaker 7: the NHL side of the Olympics side. I was sure
- 1:18:29Speaker 7: he'd have a big hand on the next Olympics, and
- 1:18:31Speaker 7: and and to choose Team Canada, he just seems like
- 1:18:34Speaker 7: that's where he's headed, and seems like almost like he's
- 1:18:36Speaker 7: he's you know, he's going to be stepping into that,
- 1:18:39Speaker 7: you know, Steve Eisman role where it was you know,
- 1:18:41Speaker 7: or or Armstrong role where he steps in and takes
- 1:18:44Speaker 7: over for Team Canada. Just seems like that, which would
- 1:18:46Speaker 7: be great because I think gets he's a smart guy
- 1:18:48Speaker 7: and obviously played on many team you know, Team Canada teams,
- 1:18:51Speaker 7: so I think it's a good higher.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: Love it And last topic, tw you wanted to hand
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: up flowers to Winnipeg's social team. After the Miami he
- 1:18:59Speaker 1: accidentally posts an upcoming Lebron James introductory press conference on
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: the YouTube page. The Jets decided to have some fun
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: last week and they announced their own upcoming Lebron presser. Lebron,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: as we talked about earlier, signed with the Sixers.
- 1:19:10Speaker 8: But tell you want to give some love to the Jets,
- 1:19:14Speaker 8: I just I just like a small market team kind
- 1:19:17Speaker 8: of taking a little shot at one of the most
- 1:19:19Speaker 8: famous athletes in the world.
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: I want at a marquee NBA franchise.
- 1:19:23Speaker 8: Who I want to know what happened to the person
- 1:19:24Speaker 8: who accidentally posted the link to this Lebron press conference.
- 1:19:28Speaker 6: I'm not sure they're still working there, but.
- 1:19:30Speaker 8: I just want to shout out the you know, people
- 1:19:32Speaker 8: behind the scenes making the job fun and having a
- 1:19:34Speaker 8: good time with it.
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: Last thought, and this will go around the room on
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: this one, because Tal referred to the Odisse. You know,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: he was just so excited and so energized by And
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: that's what great cinema can do.
- 1:19:43Speaker 6: It can make you so.
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: Excited the possibilities of movies. So the topic I wanted
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: for both Nate and JD. What movie has made you
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: both amped and made you hard? In this case, it
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: was both for Tal in the Odyssey. I'll go first
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: movie that made me amped was Mad Max Fury Road.
- 1:19:57Speaker 2: I watched it. I was just so blown away by
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: George Miller's film. I just want to go for a run.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: I said, that's just an epic action film two hours adrenaline.
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: And what movie may be hard, I'll say basic instinct.
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: Go ahead, j D, what movie has made you ampter.
- 1:20:09Speaker 2: What movie has made you hard?
- 1:20:13Speaker 4: What movie has made me well, I mean you had
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: time to think about it. What movie has made me?
- 1:20:19Speaker 2: What amped up and fired? I mean, man, let's go.
- 1:20:23Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:20:23Speaker 5: Probably I'd have to say Gladiators up. The gladiator was
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: Maximus Estimus Meridius, father to a murdered husband, husband to
- 1:20:34Speaker 5: a murdered wife.
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: And I would have my revenge in.
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: This life for the next dy when they remade it
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: just so bad. And then a movie that made me hard,
- 1:20:51Speaker 5: movie that made me hard?
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: Geez, you know I would probably hard.
- 1:20:58Speaker 5: And a funny way is I'm I'm a huge fan
- 1:21:01Speaker 5: of the all the Austin Powers movies. Elizabeth Hurley, Elizabeth
- 1:21:06Speaker 5: I not Elizabeth Hurley, but Heather Graham, Heather Graham. Is
- 1:21:11Speaker 5: it's hard to be if you go back and really
- 1:21:13Speaker 5: watch that Heather Graham in those movies.
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: Yeah, me hook you about the one cares a lot
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: a lot of vagina.
- 1:21:23Speaker 4: I like a lot of vagina. I'm on a hump
- 1:21:26Speaker 4: a lot.
- 1:21:27Speaker 6: Yeah, Harry, I'm gonna. I'm gonna go with Braveheart.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: Yes, that's.
- 1:21:36Speaker 6: Always have.
- 1:21:38Speaker 2: And I always holde.
- 1:21:45Speaker 4: I love you, I always have.
- 1:21:48Speaker 6: I was and I think my hard movie. I'm gonna go,
- 1:21:53Speaker 6: I'm gonna go Wild Things.
- 1:21:55Speaker 7: Yeah, Denise Richards, Denise Richards's.
- 1:22:00Speaker 5: That is pretty good. Yeah, that's pretty good. I'm not
- 1:22:04Speaker 5: you know, I'm not a fan of gratuita sex and movies.
- 1:22:06Speaker 2: That's a good point. You were down in a noura,
- 1:22:08Speaker 2: but otherwise.
- 1:22:11Speaker 4: Tows towsan is anura. He was hard as sheet rock.
- 1:22:14Speaker 2: There back with a bang here in NHL Uscripted.
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: Enjoyed the Odyssey and enjoy some other viewing recommendations Wild Things,
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: Austin Powers movies, basically stick whatever you're like, Well, doctor
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: in a couple of weeks.
